Speaker A: Thanks for tuning in to the undercuts review of the 2025 Austrian Grand Prix. Please rate, review and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts and enjoy the show. By being a racing driver, you are on the risk all the time. By being a racing driver means you are racing with other people. And if you no longer go for a gap that exist, you're no longer a racing driver. All right, guys, so we are back for the 2025. Oh, my God. Almost forgetting what the race is. Austrian Grand Prix, one that Max has done very well at recently. Although last year I believe he didn't win it last year.
• 0:55
Speaker B: But he didn't win it last year. George won it last year.
• 0:59
Speaker A: George does. That's right.
• 1:01
Speaker B: Lando and Max came together in turn three.
• 1:04
  Speaker A: Right, Right.
• 1:04
Speaker B: And George was just there to pick up the pieces from about 10 seconds back, right?
• 1:11
Speaker A: Absolutely. That was like the first big crash between Lando and Max in their fight last year. And we had a crash at that moment. Well, I guess. No. At or no. Yeah, it was turn three. Right. Where Kimmy and Max ultimately did come together. Obviously it was much earlier in the race, but there was. Oscar was able to jump ahead at the line just from the. From the jump. So, Martin, your prediction was. Was incorrect of Charles. Charles taking the lead at the end of. End of lab one.
• 1:52
Speaker C: Yeah, no, I. I thought that the. The Ferraris had a decent showing and qualifying because what was it was Lando got pulled. He was able to hold his nerve, but child did, Charles split the McLarens and got second spot ahead of. Ahead of piastri. You guys were saying how great it was that not, you know, Lando was dominating. I guess he was like half a second quicker. Right. With his pole lap than anybody else. I was. My counter argument was that at the end of qualifying, Gasly spun and messed up everybody's fast lap.
• 2:27
  Speaker A: That's right.
• 2:28
Speaker C: On their newer tires. But, you know, credit where credit's due. You know, that's the situation where Lando's not been able to get it done the last few races. And maybe we. People say he's overdriven the car, made a couple of mistakes, so he put it on pole. And, you know, we remember not too long ago where he was constantly putting out on pole but couldn't. Couldn't hold the lead after one lap. Right. It was race after race after race. He would lose the lead. So as a Ferrari fan, I couldn't help but make the bold prediction that Charles might be able to sneak through. But both Ferraris, he was the One that got overtaken.
• 3:07
Speaker B: Yeah. Both Ferraris on the, the dirty side of the grid, right on the. In second and fourth, both got overtaken. So Char got overtaken by Oscar. George got past Lewis. Lewis did manage to get back pretty quickly, even I think maybe still on the same lap a couple of corners later. But he did manage to get back ahead.
• 3:29
Speaker C: Yeah, but it was, it was Kimmy, right, who like you said, by lap, by the corner three, Kimmy sort of just popped out left hand side, tried to dive down the inside of a bunch of cars and just totally, he just lost his sort of spatial awareness of where he was on the track. He broke way too late, locked up all his tires, turned the wheel.
• 3:52
Speaker B: I don't think it was that he braked too late. It was that he was taken a little by surprise at how early Liam Lawson was braking. He kind of misjudged that. And he was in the middle of the move across to the right and suddenly realized that people were slowing down quite a bit and he locked the rears. That's what took him in because he now wasn't slowing down, he was just skidding straight through and he managed to avoid Liam but he wasn't able to avoid Max. And you know what I think for all of what we say about Max, about, you know, his no compromise and just being like, I mean, he was a bit judgy straight away on the radio, wasn't he? Effing idiots. I think was right when he said. But I think once he realized what it was and he'd seen it and he kind of realized that, hey, you know, I think it was probably a little bit kinder to Kimmy because he's a baby and he seems such a sweet.
• 4:55
Speaker C: You shouldn't swear in front of children.
• 4:57
Speaker B: Exactly. But you know, in the post race interviews Max was like, yeah, we've all made those kind of mistakes at some point in our career and it wasn't intentional and he didn't really hold a grudge. Now if Max had qualified further up the grid than seventh, then maybe it'd be a different story. But he kind of took it well and his, his team were racing in the 24 hour of Spa, so he. So Max just went back to the hospitality and he didn't even watch the Grand Prix. He was watching the 24 hour race in Spa in the hospitality area. You.
• 5:33
Speaker C: Yeah, he didn't, didn't waste his time, I guess. I mean the fans, I mean this is almost a home Grand Prix. It is the home Grand Prix for the Red Bull team and there's always a ton of Red Bull fans there. So they were. They were probably massively disappointed that they're. They didn't even get to see a racing lap, many of them.
• 5:52
Speaker B: Yeah, but at least Yuki made it around the first couple of corners, right? Barely.
• 5:57
  Speaker C: Yeah.
• 5:58
Speaker A: I mean, he made. He made around the first couple corners, but he spent a lot of time at the back of the. The back of the race, unfortunately.
• 6:07
Speaker C: Poor UC is just bad. It's almost irrelevant these, these days in, in what he's doing in the car. Everybody's making moves and scoring points and has he scored any, has he scored some points in the Red Bull?
• 6:20
  Speaker B: I don't know.
• 6:22
Speaker C: Maybe he came 10th or something. I don't even know.
• 6:24
Speaker B: Maybe at some point. But one. One stat that I did see is that in the last three races, Red Bull have scored 19 points. Sauber have scored 20 points.
• 6:39
  Speaker A: Wow.
• 6:40
Speaker C: I mean, yeah, I mean, Bortoletto scored his first points this race. You know, he beat his teammate Hulkenberg. And they finished, what, 8th and 9th, I think.
• 6:50
Speaker B: I think so they did finish 8th and 9th, but Nico Hulkenberg started dead last.
• 6:59
  Speaker C: Amazing.
• 7:00
Speaker B: And he made it up to ninth, which is. I mean, but you didn't really see him during the race. I think it was, you know, there was so much going on at the front in the battle between Lando and Oscar and it was always quite tight. And that's the feature presentation, really. That's the feature group of the race. So it didn't really show too much of some of the. The midfield battles, really, and this and all the progress that individuals were making. Obviously you saw crashes and you saw Yuki and Franco Colapinto coming together with themselves and with other people. Right. But Hulkenberg's performance was a. Was a sneaky one, similarly with, with ocon.
• 7:38
  Speaker A: So. Yeah.
• 7:39
Speaker B: But a good weekend for Sauber, really.
• 7:42
Speaker C: Yeah. No, no doubt Sauber have found something in their car. I don't know what it is they've done, but they've. They've got some pace now and I think everybody, everybody has points. Every driver that's currently driving has points now, except for Colapinto. And maybe he could be given a break because obviously he replaced Doohan, so he hasn't had as many races as others.
• 8:00
Speaker B: But yeah, I think the rumor mill is already starting about Colapinto's seat.
• 8:08
Speaker C: He was signed for five races. Right. So how many of the five has he driven?
• 8:12
  Speaker B: I think four.
• 8:13
  Speaker C: Right.
• 8:15
Speaker B: Because when did he come. I forget when he came in, but I think we're it was six races that Doohan had and then five, which means 11 rounds. I think this was the 11th round, but don't quote me on that one. But everyone, you know, when we were talking, Paul Aaron is their next driver in line from an academy perspective, but reliable. You know, journalists who are usually relatively well informed are starting to suggest that maybe Bottas is in light or at least being considered for the, for the Alpine seat for the rest of the season. Interesting, interesting.
• 8:58
Speaker A: Well, it seems that as you sent that, that video to our group chat of Baltas hinting that he would be interested in the Cadillac seat coming up. Hey, that would be interesting. Get, get back and get back on the wheel a little bit before potentially having to make decision for next year, I guess.
• 9:18
Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. Or I mean with the next, with next year being Alpine, moving to the Mercedes power unit. That's right. Which is supposed to be the best of the lot. It's like, man, if you could get into Alpine, that's a much better seat than Cadillac. But there you go. Potas has been putting out some good stuff though on social media. There was obviously the Cadillac one, but then there was the one he's like, I'm really busy, did you see that one? And it's just him drinking espresso in various positions. Situations over a Grand Prix weekend.
• 9:55
Speaker A: Must be a tough life for him.
• 9:57
  Speaker B: I know.
• 9:59
Speaker A: Well, I guess, but what are you saying?
• 10:03
Speaker B: Just one final point on, on Sauber while we're just talking about them. Sure. We could. And maybe this is a segue to the next one or maybe it's not. But at the end of the race where Gabriel Bortoletto was challenging Fernando Alonso for seventh place, who is his manager. Right. And made a pass but couldn't make it stick. And then, you know, Fernando was really battling to keep Bortoletto behind on. Bortoletto was on much fresher tires. But then Lando came through and so they had to stop battling to let Lando through and then into turn four was just brilliant by Alonso because he came up right next to Lando and you were thinking, wait, what's he doing? Is he trying to unlap himself? But no, he was just using Lando as another block to keep Bortoletto behind, which was just a wily veteran maneuver and that was all he needed to just. That was really the last overtaking spot on the track. So he managed to hold on for seventh place there.
• 11:21
Speaker A: Yeah, two, two good races for Fernando in a row at least. So, yeah, great from him. And then before we get into the battle of the McLarens. I guess we should talk about Carlos's obviously poor start, stalling on the formation lap, able to get it going, but he has to go in the pit lane and then his car catches on fire and then he has to retire before the race starts, which gives us a 10 minute delay. And then ultimately I think it was lap 17. Albon ended up retiring from the race. So just another poor weekend from Williams, who's been doing great on the season, but a bad weekend for them.
• 12:02
Speaker B: Yeah, no spoilers for the F1 movie, but at one point when he was sitting there on the grid, I was thinking, is he just taking tips from the movie and just gonna go flying around and get nice warm tires for the start? But they were a little too warm and his car burst into flames in the pit lane, which is a real shame. They're having real trouble with their overheating and reliability at Williams. I don't really quite know what's going on, but obviously it was a brakes issue for Carlos. But they didn't really say or we didn't really hear anything that I know of about why Alex was called in to box the car and retire.
• 12:38
  Speaker C: Yeah, I don't know either.
• 12:39
Speaker B: A dozen laps in, 15 laps in. I forget exactly when it was, but he was running in sixth place at that point and was looking like it could be a good result for them.
• 12:46
Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, he'd done a pit stop, but at that point already and it sent him back out. But yeah, just a couple of laps later they, they, they retired the car. So they saw something.
• 12:57
  Speaker A: Yeah.
• 12:58
  Speaker C: Didn't like.
• 12:59
Speaker A: Yep, very unfortunate. And then I guess going Back to the McLarens, like I said at the beginning, obviously Oscar was able to get into P2, into turn one or out of turn one. But we did see some pretty tight battling between them for the first, I don't know, 20 laps or, or so. Oscar trying to a couple times get down the inside of turn four. Obviously the second time he tried to do that, he locked up really bad and almost ended the race for both McLarens. And that seemed to kind of settle down the, the fighting as the team came on the radio and told them to cut it out. Right.
• 13:44
Speaker C: That was around lap 20, I think. Yeah, I mean, on lap 11, I think. Didn't he take the lead briefly? I think yeah, he did around at least one corner with a bit of Drs. But then Lando got, got the Drs coming back on the second straight and retook the lead. But yeah, good to see Them fighting good that they didn't take each other out. It could have ended up a lot worse for, for both of them. But yeah, it's clear that it's hard to say that Oscar is faster than Lando, Orlando's faster than Oscar, but they're both getting a lot out of those machines and yeah, when you push on those tires you can make a difference. So you're always balancing performance and how hard you want to push your tires, how far it will go. But great racing.
• 14:37
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 14:38
Speaker A: I mean, it does seem to me that Oscar is a little bit faster. I mean, we did have the situation with the tire delta as we were speaking out, speaking about before we started that Oscar made the decision to stay out four laps or so longer than Lando did to try and build up a delta and obviously that kind of settled the fight for, for the rest of the time. But Oscar was seemingly catching up to Lando and was getting fastest laps multiple times on, you know, different stints. But it was really. Traffic was what, what got in the way of the battle.
• 15:16
Speaker C: Yeah, I mean, it's such a short circuit. I think it's one of the shortest circuits on, on the, on the calendar. It's only a little over a minute for a lap. Right. So, yeah, not that much space to spread out 20 cars and you know, obviously some are faster than others. So yeah, getting into the back markers, I mean, at the very end, what happened, Piastri came into his second stop, came out behind Norris. That stop, two seconds flat, I believe.
• 15:45
  Speaker A: Yes.
• 15:46
Speaker C: Crazy fast. So the pit crew were doing their part for Piastri for sure. But yeah, he came out with. What was it? Tsunoda and Colapinto who were practically dead last at that point, still fighting for position in their race. No points on the line. And yeah, it was just a weird because what happened, Piastri came out behind Colapinto who was behind Sonoda was. No, no, Colapinto was ahead of the stroll.
• 16:21
Speaker A: Right. Or was it Sonoda? Sonoda.
• 16:23
Speaker C: I think it's Sonoda. Yeah, you're right. I think it was Colapinto. I had a Sonoda and then. Yeah, and then. But then Sonoda kind of moved to the side. Piastri went up the inside but Colapinto was in the way. And then Sonoda sort of went straight through between the two of them and took. Took the spot and I don't think Colapinto expected that at all. Didn't realize Piastri was there. Moved to the right and pushed P. Piastri almost like completely into the grass like 9, 9/10 of his car was on the grass. So how he didn't crash out then was nuts. And I think that earned colapinto what, a 10 second penalty or so? Or have they even announced that he's getting a penalty for that?
• 17:06
Speaker B: They gave him a five second penalty in the race.
• 17:09
Speaker C: Okay. And probably some, some points on his, on his license too.
• 17:14
Speaker B: Yeah, I don't, I think they were a little lenient because they knew that he was in a battle with Sonoda.
• 17:21
Speaker C: I don't think he even knew that. Well, he kind of knew that Piastri was around, but where he was. Exactly. It was probably a bit unsighted, especially as Tsunoda had just gone through.
• 17:31
Speaker B: Yeah. And because he was on the, he was to the inside a little bit and Tsunoda was to his left and he was probably just paying attention to what was on this side versus what's, you know, not looking in the right hand mirror.
• 17:42
  Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, good.
• 17:44
Speaker B: But it wasn't a good look.
• 17:46
Speaker C: Good, good, good, good plot armor. As I was saying for, for Piastri in this race, he nearly, nearly crashed into Lando, nearly got pushed off the track. You know, he nearly took out his front wing but all in all he managed to bring it home in second place and yeah. Keep his, keep his position at the top of the, the driver standings and especially with Max scoring no points at all. It really, you hate to say it's a two horse race now for the, for the championship, but.
• 18:18
Speaker B: Yeah, I mean it's what, 61 points. Max is back in the, in the title.
• 18:24
Speaker C: Yeah. Behind. Behind Piastri. Yeah. And it's only, it's only 15 points between Lando and Piastri.
• 18:31
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 18:32
Speaker C: So yeah, looks, looks very much like it is just between those two. But is this a turning point for Lando? Right. He's, he's had a tough few races, but now, I mean this weekend I think he was the fastest in every session. Am I right?
• 18:47
  Speaker A: I think that's right.
• 18:48
  Speaker B: He wasn't fastest in FP1.
• 18:50
Speaker C: Oh, he wasn't. Oh, okay.
• 18:52
Speaker B: No, because he wasn't in it. Alex was in his car.
• 18:55
Speaker C: He was fastest in every, every, every round that he drove. I guess he only missed out on the fastest lap for the Golden Weekend or whatever you want to. Yeah, whatever you want to call it. Yeah.
• 19:07
Speaker A: Yeah. But that kid Alex Dunn, speaking to him, he was really good. I mean he, he. I don't think I've ever seen someone who fills in for an FP1 and wasn't his time in the top five.
• 19:17
Speaker B: Yeah, I think he finished fourth in FP1.
• 19:20
Speaker C: Crazy. He did well.
• 19:21
Speaker A: Yeah, well, I think that's really it from the highlights of the race. I mean, a lot of those, you know, close calls was, was really, was really it. Not much, at least that we saw from, from the racing.
• 19:37
Speaker C: Yeah, I mean, the, the Ferraris put in a solid stint. I mean, they legitimately, you know, beat out Russell, but they weren't getting anywhere near the McLarens. They weren't relevant for.
• 19:48
Speaker A: Yeah, they just had that one, that one moment where Lewis didn't want to come in to pit and I kind of saw where he was coming from. I mean, he felt comfortable on his tires and he felt like he could make it to the end or at least didn until a potential safety car. That very well could have happened with all the potential crashes that, that we had. And he could have jumped up and maybe fought for the, you know, top three.
• 20:12
Speaker C: Yeah, I mean, Lawson, Lawson and Alonzo both only made one stop, so they were on hard tires, you know, towards the end of the lap. But they, they changed around lap 32, 33. Hamilton had put his hard tires on on lap 26, so they would have been significantly older. But, you know, who knows, Maybe he could have challenged Leclerc.
• 20:35
Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, I think Ferrari. Yeah, I mean, Ferrari had a good result, but I think that that's not necessarily a reflection of their strength. Rather, their main competitors were pretty terrible. Like Mercedes had a pretty terrible weekend with, with Antonelli taking out Verstappen. So that took care of someone who would probably have been in the top three with a podium position, obviously on race pace. I guess we don't really know how the red wall was going to fare relative to Ferrari, but that was going to be a battle. Right. And, you know, the performance of Mercedes in Canada on the, you know, on a track with those characteristics is very different from here. So I don't think anyone thought that Russell was going to be really challenging, but, you know, yes, Leclerc got by Piastri at the start, but it was pretty clear that they weren't nearly a match for the, for the McLaren in race pace because as soon as Piastri got by, he just, they just left him for dead. But I think there's going to be a few teams who are kind of really looking at things and going. We had a terrible weekend starting with Mercedes, but Alpine in particular. Did everybody overtake Pierre Gasly at some point during this race? How many people overtook Pierre Gasly? It just felt like throughout the race, everyone was just overtaking Pierre. I just felt so bad for the guy.
• 22:16
Speaker A: Well, back markers. I mean he was a back marker a lot of those times, wasn't he? Yeah, yeah, but yeah, unfortunate.
• 22:24
Speaker C: Conversely, what best was it best career finish for liam Lawson in six.
• 22:30
  Speaker A: Yeah, P6. Yeah.
• 22:33
Speaker C: You know what, what a move between, you know, he was kick kicked out of the Red Bull car into racing bulls and now he's finishing in the points, getting his highest point score and Yuki is struggling.
• 22:46
Speaker B: Yeah, no, I think that this came at a really good time for Liam because it should, you know, Yuki had a terrible weekend. He's all at sea. I think it's pretty clear that Yuki's gone. I think this is the, the end of Yuki's F1 career really, unfortunately.
• 23:07
Speaker A: But you say Red Bull.
• 23:08
Speaker B: I. Yeah, but like where else is there? I mean he's Honda so maybe there's a reserve seat at Aston Martin for him, but I don't see a race seat available to him next year. But Liam was kind of looking to be in a bit of trouble as well because he's obviously been put in the shade by Hajar so far and you know, getting some points and having a really strong. I mean, I think this has probably been the best weekend of Lawson's career, even including some of those fill in jobs, particularly the first season. So this came at a pretty good time. I think the key thing is he's got to try and match this performance at Silverstone next weekend to kind of show that, yeah, he's now found his feet in the new team and you know, he can go onwards and upwards for next year.
• 24:07
Speaker A: Yeah, I mean we'll see what happens with, you know, obviously the news kind of dropped that Mercedes seems to be pursuing Max pretty heavily and who knows how that could shake everything up. And I feel like that would probably be George's C. Right? You would think.
• 24:26
  Speaker C: Yeah.
• 24:26
Speaker A: I mean they can't get rid of Kimmy.
• 24:28
Speaker C: You feel like Kimmy's the one for the future. George is on the hot seat. That would be a tough one. I'm seeing rumors they want to try and sort. Mercedes want to try and sort this out during the summer break. I mean, they call it silly season for a reason, but yeah, I mean, Max not being in a Red Bull, that's crazy.
• 24:46
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 24:47
Speaker A: Then you can't get rid of Yuki, can you?
• 24:50
Speaker B: Yeah, I mean if, well, if George, I mean George is too good to not have a seat. So if Mercedes were to land Verstappen, then I'm sure George would be a natural target for them. Right. I think one of the interesting points is Verstappen would need to get out of his contract with Red Bull. No one really knows the terms of that contract, but there is a performance clause in it which is rumored to be. If he's not in the top three in the drivers by the summer break, I think then that triggers a get out clause.
• 25:28
Speaker A: But that's why he hopped out of the car.
• 25:30
Speaker B: Yeah, but if Mercedes, yeah, if Mercedes want to get it all ironed out before the summer break, then those, you know, is that timing compatible? I don't know. But it was interesting that Verstappen wasn't too critical of Mercedes and certainly Kimmy after this crash, which has only helped.
• 25:53
Speaker C: You're putting it all together now.
• 25:56
Speaker B: And, but similarly, you know, after Canada where Red Bull were complaining about George and the diddy break to, to set Verstappen ahead of him, you know, overtaking under the safety car and all of that, George wasn't too critical of, of that shenanigans. Those shenanigans. So I don't know, maybe there's, maybe people are talking. I don't know.
• 26:22
Speaker A: Could be interesting. Well, I don't, I don't. I think that's really it from the race. I guess that just leaves us with, with Coops. F1.
• 26:31
Speaker C: Oh, yes. Wow. Both of you are like, I mean, at the top. I mean, Nick coming in with the top score this week, you know, was.
• 26:40
Speaker B: It the top, was it the top score of the week when, when the race was unfolding? I didn't look at it. I was thinking, oh, man, my coupes, F1 picks. I probably got like nine points or something. But then I looked at the standings and I realized that I was up into second spot behind our own Jason Lazarus. J. Lazzie, 92.
• 26:59
Speaker C: I mean, it was, it's a tough one to predict again when you have, you know, names that you expect to be into the top 10, not, you know, being knocked out, you know, Verstappen and, and Kimmy. It's all about, you know, picking drivers lower down. So you had Hulkenberg in there in the, in the right spot, you know, Fernando close to where he finished as well. So I'd be remiss if I didn't mention, mention Tony Lowe who also got 220 points. So not a massive score as far as race week scores go, but yeah. And that closes the position at the very top between the two of you, only 30 points, 20, 29 points between the top two hanging around another 30.
• 27:42
Speaker B: Points behind and I would have been 10 points closer if I hadn't chickened out in qualifying. I'd originally put Norris on pole, but then all the talk since the last race was about how he can't quite extract that last, you know, that last 1% of performance because the numbness or whatever that he's feeling in the front axle. They've sorted that out now, of course, but I was like. I think I, I fancied Verstappen to get ahead of him at, at the. For pole, but obviously that was, that was wrong. I changed it like five minutes before qualifying to for that.
• 28:24
Speaker C: We'll see. We'll see if Lando can keep it up. You know, it's his, his home Grand Prix coming up. I remember, I think an interview with him from a couple of years ago when he was struggling in the car. He said that he feels that driving in front of his home fans gives him potentially an extra half a second in qualifying. So any driver would take that for sure.
• 28:45
Speaker B: Yeah. Did he qualify in pole last year? And then he was. And then Verstappen had into the first corner.
• 28:53
Speaker A: Well, Lewis ended up winning last year, right?
• 28:55
Speaker B: Yeah. I mean, 2013 is the last time there was a British Grand Prix without Lewis on the podium. He's been on the podium every year since 2014.
• 29:08
Speaker C: That is a mental stat, really.
• 29:10
Speaker B: Yeah. He's won eight of them, maybe seven of them. Yeah. In the last few years. Just like 22 and 23. He was third, but other than that it's been first, basically. I think he maybe finished second one year, but. Yeah. So is that gonna, is that run gonna come to an end this year? Who knows?
• 29:34
  Speaker C: Who knows?
• 29:35
Speaker A: He has to know his way around that track.
• 29:38
  Speaker B: He does.
• 29:39
Speaker C: I'm just trying to think back now because he finished on three wheels, didn't he, a few years ago?
• 29:44
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 29:45
Speaker C: When his tire, you know, sort of Disney car esque when his tire blew on the last lap. But he was able to, to bring it home. And then he had famously had the coming together with Verstappen around the first high speed corner which dumped Verstappen into the. Into the barriers. But he went on.
• 30:03
Speaker B: Cops isn't the first corner anymore, Martin.
• 30:05
Speaker C: I know, 1990s guy. Give me a break. Yeah.
• 30:13
Speaker B: Guys. Such nerds. Sorry.
• 30:15
Speaker C: It just looks like the start finish stroke from the video games I used to play in the 90s. The track layouts completely changed from then.
• 30:23
Speaker A: Anyway, I just found out, I just got the new F1 video game and you can now play all the tracks in reverse.
• 30:31
  Speaker C: Okay. Oh, interesting.
• 30:33
Speaker A: So I'm think I'm gonna give that a try. Try Silverstone backwards.
• 30:36
Speaker B: Yeah, that was. That was something. When during COVID the 2020 season and they were having multiple races at the same circuit, like, you know, the Red Bull ring had two rounds and I was like, why didn't they do one in reverse?
• 30:54
Speaker A: Just so that reverse or going reverse.
• 30:57
Speaker C: Track or all of the above.
• 31:00
Speaker B: All of it, yes. Yes. Just put a big mirror up and then with the all the turn the opposite way. I don't know.
• 31:08
Speaker C: And the winner is Mater, the tow truck world's best reversing driver.
• 31:13
Speaker B: Actually, speaking of tow trucks, did I put on the group chat the recovery vehicle that picked up? I think it was. It was Kimmy's car, right. Taking out that overhead. Well, it wasn't a bridge. It was an overhead sign.
• 31:28
  Speaker A: Right.
• 31:29
  Speaker C: Advertising.
• 31:30
Speaker A: It looked like the thing like came down and hit the car. Maybe like the. The hook that was. That was holding it.
• 31:37
  Speaker B: It was. Yeah.
• 31:38
Speaker C: Luckily I'm standing underneath it.
• 31:40
Speaker B: No, yeah, that could have. That could have been bad. But one thing I did notice, and I was going to put this on the chat, but I thought now you think I'm a total dork. Was the above, the driver's heads, the air intake. I forget what they call that. Is very different on the Ferrari from everyone else. Everyone else's is kind of an oval shape because. And you can see inside that oval intake the triangular crash structure. But the Ferraris don't have that. It's just a straight triangle. Oh, go, go look it up online. It was kind of weird. So there's a lot less airflow. I mean, and it looks like they're kind of really working on packaging. I don't know. Maybe that is good. I don't know. But it was just an observation. So for you Ferrari fans out there, check it out. I don't know what it means. Maybe you can google it and find out if anyone's analyzed that. But I did notice that today.
• 32:37
Speaker C: Maybe it's a follow on from Mercedes side podless car. Right. Reducing air intakes, higher speeds, etc.
• 32:45
Speaker A: That worked so well for Mercedes.
• 32:47
Speaker C: Did not work well. Yeah, but yeah, no break. Basically straight into into Silverstone this weekend.
• 32:58
Speaker B: He has to give up the corner. I had the nose ahead.
• 33:02
Speaker C: What is wrong with these people?
• 33:05
