Bordeaux: Vineyards Beyond the Tram & What To Skip — Worth It?
🌍 Everyone says you need a car to see the Bordeaux vineyards. You don't — the tourist office's French-language page names 40-odd châteaux reachable by tram, bus or TER, each with the stop and the walking time. The English version lists five, and only one name appears on both. The real barrier isn't the map, it's the calendar: Château Margaux is "by appointment only from Monday to Friday… closed on weekends, public holidays, in August and during the harvest", and tasting there is "only for professionals". A two-hour TGV delivers you exactly when the estates are shut.
