Episode 66: The Adze
In episode 66 we sit inside the mosquito net after the lamp has been turned down, where the night is already full of small things that want blood. This is the Adze, the firefly vampire of Ewe and Fon telling in what is now Ghana, Togo, and Benin. In the ordinary shape it is a firefly, or something that passes for one. In the other shape it is a person who has already chosen the hunger. The accounts belong to communities that still know the difference between an insect and an insect that should not be inside the house. They are not a European vampire wearing a West African name.
