- 1:06Speaker 1: our Facebook group is real, drama free, full of Hallmark fans.
- 1:10Speaker 1: We are Girls Gone Hallmark and Facebook groups. Let's kick
- 1:14Speaker 1: off our discussion of this episode with a synopsis. The
- 1:18Speaker 1: Hanks slide through a messy festive face off before cleaning
- 1:22Speaker 1: up for the Mister Talent show with Hallmark superfans as
- 1:26Speaker 1: guest judges. The guys are faced with tough questions. It
- 1:30Speaker 1: all leads to an elimination with a shocking twist. We
- 1:35Speaker 1: kick off as usual with kitchen de brief time. We
- 1:38Speaker 1: have Angel and Craig in the kitchen and they are
- 1:40Speaker 1: talking about last night's elimination and Gabe comes in and goes,
- 1:44Speaker 1: you guys talking about me? Yeah, I thought that was funny. Look,
- 1:48Speaker 1: I have no shame in saying that. I'm a big
- 1:50Speaker 1: fan of Gabe same. Granted may not be the most
- 1:57Speaker 1: experienced actor, but as a human and we really like that,
- 2:01Speaker 1: so freaking likable. And so when he comes in and
- 2:04Speaker 1: he's like, are you talking about me? Like he just
- 2:07Speaker 1: has good aura, Like, yes, he knows he was in
- 2:10Speaker 1: the bottom two. He does not take himself too seriously exactly.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Craig's making breakfast and he and Gabe kind of banter
- 2:18Speaker 1: about it, and Gabe's like, I guess I'm not gonna
- 2:19Speaker 1: be eating that, Like is the idea? Like Craig's not
- 2:22Speaker 1: a good cook. Oh, that's a good question. I don't know.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Maybe I was thinking maybe he hadn't made enough. But
- 2:28Speaker 1: didn't they bring all the plates out? Yeah to everybody
- 2:31Speaker 1: else who's waiting, So I don't know. Did you catch
- 2:35Speaker 1: the egg joke that Rustin makes excellent? Yeah? I was
- 2:40Speaker 1: like dad jokes, Dad jokes. This is not miss finding
- 2:45Speaker 1: mister dad joke. But I don't know. I like a
- 2:49Speaker 1: dad joke, so do I. But I was like, try harder, Okay.
- 2:56Speaker 1: While they're still in the kitchen, they talk about the elimination,
- 2:58Speaker 1: and it's kind of funny because Fully loses his train
- 3:01Speaker 1: of thought or as he's making eggs, he loses his
- 3:03Speaker 1: train of thought about what they're talking about, the elimination,
- 3:06Speaker 1: and he's just like he's trying to ask Gabe a question,
- 3:09Speaker 1: and he just is like, it's interesting, and they didn't
- 3:12Speaker 1: cut it. But then he gets it together and asks
- 3:16Speaker 1: him how he feels after being in the bottom twice greg.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Gabe says he feels grateful to still be here, but
- 3:23Speaker 1: it takes a little bit to come back from the
- 3:25Speaker 1: sting of rejection. And Craig I really like. He goes, Oh,
- 3:28Speaker 1: you mean you're a human being? Yeah? I love that.
- 3:30Speaker 1: I really liked it, loved it. We see a talking
- 3:33Speaker 1: head from Gabe where he says he feels like he
- 3:35Speaker 1: has something to prove, and it's at this moment in
- 3:38Speaker 1: watching this episode that I feel very nervous for him.
- 3:42Speaker 1: The writing is on the wall in the editing you
- 3:44Speaker 1: think you know. Last week we talked about foreshadowing and
- 3:47Speaker 1: how it seemed kind of clear that they were maybe
- 3:48Speaker 1: foreshadowing a win for Marcus, and at this point, I
- 3:51Speaker 1: think we were watching the opposite effect. Yeah, this is
- 3:56Speaker 1: why I don't like watching these shows so closely. Yeah,
- 4:00Speaker 1: it's like you can't just take it as it comes. Yeah. Yeah.
- 4:05Speaker 1: They then do discuss together. Angel asks has everybody here
- 4:08Speaker 1: won a Festive Face Off? And I'm like, there's only
- 4:10Speaker 1: been three. How could it be possible for all seven
- 4:12Speaker 1: people to have won the team challenge ones? But Angel
- 4:17Speaker 1: is the only person who has not won anything, And
- 4:23Speaker 1: Robbie says, but you've won our hearts, he has won
- 4:27Speaker 1: my heart. I enjoy Angel quite a bit, me too,
- 4:31Speaker 1: quite a bit. So Angel wants to rack up a
- 4:33Speaker 1: win and Robbie wants to go for a three peat
- 4:36Speaker 1: because he has won the last two Festive face Off.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Go Robbie, Go Robbie, and it's Bestive Face Off Challenge time.
- 4:46Speaker 1: I've watched a lot of Big Brother, but this challenge
- 4:49Speaker 1: is straight out a Big Brother. I thought the exact way.
- 4:53Speaker 1: I can't remember what it's called him o tef o,
- 4:56Speaker 1: tef oh yes, so that would climb up, climbing up
- 4:59Speaker 1: this slim hilly and they have to find something and
- 5:02Speaker 1: bring it back to bring their answer back to OTEV. Yeah,
- 5:05Speaker 1: it's kind of a combo because they also have that
- 5:08Speaker 1: challenge on Big Brother where they have to fill something
- 5:10Speaker 1: up they'd like transporting back and forth, and there's a
- 5:13Speaker 1: lot of slipping and sliding in that as well. This
- 5:17Speaker 1: was quite entertaining to watch, quite entertaining to watch. Also,
- 5:20Speaker 1: I just a side note. Do you remember Jonathan Bennett
- 5:23Speaker 1: was a participant on Big Brother Celebrity. I remember him
- 5:29Speaker 1: saying that, but I don't remember watching that. I feel
- 5:33Speaker 1: like I need to go back and watch. Was he
- 5:35Speaker 1: on with the Olympian the swimmer who was practicing in
- 5:39Speaker 1: the backyard. Yeah, he was on the Amazing Race too
- 5:43Speaker 1: with James. Oh, I have to go back and watch that.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Jonathan Bennett was on Celebrity Big Brother in twenty nineteen
- 5:51Speaker 1: as a contestant on season two of the show. He
- 5:54Speaker 1: was the first house guest to be evicted that season. Oh, Jonathan,
- 5:58Speaker 1: I maybe that's why I don't remember, And I'm like,
- 6:01Speaker 1: did I watch that? I don't. I honestly don't even
- 6:04Speaker 1: remember if I watched it, I don't either. When I
- 6:06Speaker 1: go back, and that was the season with Ryan Lockey
- 6:09Speaker 1: WZ swimming in the backyard and put a lappool in
- 6:11Speaker 1: for him. Who won? I think tomor Tamar Braxton. Well, okay,
- 6:16Speaker 1: then back to the show. Obviously they're filming this in
- 6:19Speaker 1: like April or something in the springtime. There has been snow, right,
- 6:23Speaker 1: there's no snow on this like obstacle course that they've built. Right,
- 6:27Speaker 1: I'm guessing it's like dish soap and vegetable oil. It
- 6:32Speaker 1: looks like shaving cream at one point. H E if
- 6:35Speaker 1: youmaun thing soapy and slippery and white and everybody just
- 6:39Speaker 1: gets everywhere. Well, first of all, the goal of the
- 6:42Speaker 1: challenge the guys have to grab candy Hanes, which are
- 6:44Speaker 1: color coated pool noodles, run up what's essentially a giant
- 6:47Speaker 1: slip in slide, and place their pool noodle in a
- 6:51Speaker 1: giant hot chocolate mug. And they need to repeat the
- 6:53Speaker 1: process three times. When they come out, they're in like
- 6:56Speaker 1: head to toe helmets, knee pads, elbow pads, risks, brass,
- 7:00Speaker 1: and then some of them have turned their T shirts
- 7:02Speaker 1: into muscleties. Looks like a DIY situation. I'm into it. Sorry. Yeah.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Even at one point, like Melissa's you should take your
- 7:09Speaker 1: shirts off, I'm like, yeah, take your shirts off. Look it, guys.
- 7:13Speaker 1: I like the show for what it is. What's funny
- 7:18Speaker 1: is when they say go, a lot of them try
- 7:20Speaker 1: and like belly flop down the hill and they don't
- 7:22Speaker 1: go very far. I felt like at that point it
- 7:25Speaker 1: wasn't slippery enough, and it was like, you know, we've
- 7:27Speaker 1: all been on a slide where it doesn't slide and
- 7:29Speaker 1: you like burn your skin on it. Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 7:34Speaker 1: So then they get up and they run down the hill,
- 7:39Speaker 1: watching them try and get back up the hill like
- 7:41Speaker 1: Davy running in place, they're crawling, they slide, and then
- 7:46Speaker 1: here comes Gabriel and he just takes a running star
- 7:49Speaker 1: and leaves everyone in the dust. His body, to me,
- 7:53Speaker 1: at times looked like those blown up like the car
- 7:56Speaker 1: dealership guys, because he was like so lanky and like speedy,
- 8:00Speaker 1: and like his limbs were like going everywhere trying like
- 8:04Speaker 1: not to slip and keep his balance. Uh. He So
- 8:09Speaker 1: he's like, you gotta get momentum to get up the hills.
- 8:11Speaker 1: The only way to do it. Angel's like, that's the
- 8:12Speaker 1: way to do it. Angel's a soccer player, Gabriel's a
- 8:16Speaker 1: former sprinter. They've got athleticism on their side. But it's
- 8:19Speaker 1: so funny to me because Marcus is like, I don't
- 8:21Speaker 1: do cardio. Marcus is like ripped, but he's like, I
- 8:24Speaker 1: can't get up the hill. My muscles are of no
- 8:27Speaker 1: use to me right now? Did he even do? David?
- 8:30Speaker 1: He's just like paddling in the same plays. It's so funny.
- 8:35Speaker 1: It must be so tragic to look so good and
- 8:38Speaker 1: then you cannot do anything with it. It's honestly pure gold.
- 8:43Speaker 1: And I just see Robbie's dreams of a three peet
- 8:45Speaker 1: slipping through his fingers. He's trying so hard. It's like
- 8:49Speaker 1: the car Chamer's like that sound in my mind. Yeah. Yeah.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Gabriel is out of steam after that first run, though,
- 8:59Speaker 1: and then Angel makes a second run. He gets like
- 9:01Speaker 1: nipe the way there, and then all editing was great.
- 9:09Speaker 1: It's really fun. It's super fun. And then we get
- 9:12Speaker 1: to the point where it's like Gabe has two, Angel
- 9:15Speaker 1: has one, Davy has one, Angel has two, and then
- 9:18Speaker 1: the other guys are like, oh, Gabriel's methods the way
- 9:20Speaker 1: to do it? Yeah, Craig specifically is like, oh, crawling
- 9:23Speaker 1: up this is not the way. Maybe I should try
- 9:26Speaker 1: running it, like it took you that long, as like
- 9:30Speaker 1: Gabe is like sprinting by you. Oh my goodness, I
- 9:34Speaker 1: love it. In the midst of all this, Melissa's like,
- 9:35Speaker 1: does anybody eat a hug? And Rusten's like I knew,
- 9:38Speaker 1: and She's like, maybe after your showered. Yeah, he was,
- 9:41Speaker 1: he was. His body was on the like slope a lot,
- 9:45Speaker 1: like it was covered in it. Uh huh. So we
- 9:48Speaker 1: go back and forth, and the editing it starts to
- 9:50Speaker 1: make me panic because, like, h only a few people
- 9:52Speaker 1: have points, but it's it's it's neck and neck. And
- 9:55Speaker 1: then we realize that both Angel and Gabriel have two yeah,
- 9:59Speaker 1: and Angel realizes that he dropped a candy cane on
- 10:02Speaker 1: the hill and he only needs to reach back and
- 10:04Speaker 1: get it. I think that's cheating me too. I'm so
- 10:08Speaker 1: glad you he won on a technicality here. I feel like,
- 10:11Speaker 1: if you drop it on the hill, you gotta go
- 10:13Speaker 1: back down and start start over. He should not have
- 10:16Speaker 1: been able to like shimmy his way down halfway and
- 10:18Speaker 1: grab that one and then get back up. He needed
- 10:20Speaker 1: to be holding it the entire way back up. Yeah,
- 10:23Speaker 1: And you see as he's reaching back because he doesn't
- 10:26Speaker 1: want to go too far back to slide down the hill,
- 10:28Speaker 1: so he's very slowly reaching back, and you see Gabriel
- 10:31Speaker 1: come running up the hill behind him, and the last
- 10:34Speaker 1: second they cut and you can see Gabriel kind of
- 10:36Speaker 1: slip right before the end, and it's just a split second.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Angel makes his candy cane in the cup. Gabriel loses,
- 10:45Speaker 1: and look, I don't want anybody. There's nobody that I
- 10:48Speaker 1: want to go home at this point, So I'm not
- 10:50Speaker 1: rooting for or against anybody, but I did think that
- 10:54Speaker 1: that was a win. With an asterisk, I might have
- 10:57Speaker 1: a yelled bullshit. I like you, I'm not rooting against anybody,
- 11:04Speaker 1: but I think Gabe deserved the win here. Yeah. And
- 11:06Speaker 1: if you're talking about big brother, like if in these challenges,
- 11:10Speaker 1: a lot of times it's like if you drop something,
- 11:11Speaker 1: if you fall off, like you got to start over,
- 11:13Speaker 1: like you should have had to go all the way
- 11:15Speaker 1: back down and come back up. I agree because it's
- 11:18Speaker 1: the same thing, Like it's the same reason you can't
- 11:20Speaker 1: take three candy canes with you at one time, exactly
- 11:24Speaker 1: fun moment the guys get their rind, they tackle Jonathan
- 11:27Speaker 1: on the slip inslide, Melissa runs away, and then they're
- 11:31Speaker 1: alerted that they're all going to have to bring a
- 11:33Speaker 1: talent to the Mister Christmas pageant coming up. I have
- 11:37Speaker 1: a lot of thoughts here. Okay, let's back it up.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Angel wins an advantage for winning the festive face off,
- 11:44Speaker 1: but we don't know what it is yet. We honestly,
- 11:47Speaker 1: we don't learn until the very very end. I had
- 11:50Speaker 1: completely forgot My aulds are like I forgot. We didn't
- 11:52Speaker 1: know what Angel's advantage is, forgotten all about it. But
- 11:56Speaker 1: like you said, they have to prepare for a talent competition,
- 12:01Speaker 1: and there's a couple things to me. Davey looks deeply concerned,
- 12:05Speaker 1: and we talked about it either in last week's episode
- 12:07Speaker 1: or the week before when I don't remember. I don't remember.
- 12:11Speaker 1: I don't know if you'll remember. But Davy was kind
- 12:15Speaker 1: of in his head about like what he brings to
- 12:17Speaker 1: the tapes I do, and we got like a whiff
- 12:20Speaker 1: of it again in this episode. Yes, he compares himself
- 12:23Speaker 1: to Rustin, who Restin's clearly has musical talent. So Wrestling's like, yeah,
- 12:27Speaker 1: I'm bringing that, but Davy. Davy looks not fearful, but
- 12:33Speaker 1: almost offended that he has to like bring something other
- 12:37Speaker 1: than oh interesting, you know himself, his what he can do.
- 12:42Speaker 1: He says, he's he's a personal trainer and a model,
- 12:46Speaker 1: and so he's like racking his brain, like he does
- 12:48Speaker 1: not know what to bring. And I just want to
- 12:50Speaker 1: remind listeners that Ezra, who won last year, made cocktails
- 12:57Speaker 1: in a roller ways. So I mean, I mean, I
- 13:01Speaker 1: remember I noticed the same thing you did. That we
- 13:03Speaker 1: kind of revisit because the last time Davy was concerned
- 13:07Speaker 1: about how he stacks up against these guys, it was
- 13:10Speaker 1: Rustin who gave him pause and he realized that Rustin
- 13:13Speaker 1: has this additional talent. Marcus is also worried. He's like,
- 13:16Speaker 1: I don't know if I have something that's going to
- 13:18Speaker 1: hold up to the other guys and be worthy. This
- 13:21Speaker 1: is just what to me. It feels like they're no
- 13:24Speaker 1: brainer that they would have to bring a talent if
- 13:27Speaker 1: they saw these guys went into the show not what
- 13:30Speaker 1: they were doing. Season one consisted. The Season one guys
- 13:33Speaker 1: had no clue, right, They didn't talk about like a
- 13:36Speaker 1: real surprise. They did not know that they were gonna
- 13:38Speaker 1: have to do a talent show. These guys knew, so
- 13:42Speaker 1: should assume prepare yourself me with something. Now, don't ask
- 13:47Speaker 1: me to do talent No no, no, no no, I ain't
- 13:49Speaker 1: got nothing, So same, same. There's also a little sidebar
- 13:53Speaker 1: conversation before we get to the star Quality challenge between
- 13:57Speaker 1: rust and Marcus and Dabie, and Rustin is talking about
- 14:00Speaker 1: some close calls he's had in life, including a pretty
- 14:03Speaker 1: terrible motorcycle accident, and he teas it up for a
- 14:06Speaker 1: later moment and he says that because of that experience,
- 14:11Speaker 1: he has an appreciation for the opportunities that are afforded
- 14:13Speaker 1: to him in life. And let's take a quick break
- 14:16Speaker 1: and come right back and talk the star Quality challenge.
- 14:27Speaker 1: There's a fun little addition in the guy's stockings. They
- 14:29Speaker 1: get pageant sashes as they're headed to the Mister Talent competition.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Our guest judges are Gail and Alicia from the Christmas
- 14:38Speaker 1: at Sea docu series. There's besties and the audience is
- 14:42Speaker 1: also full of extras, including Sydney from Mary Movie Club,
- 14:46Speaker 1: who's a friend of the show. She was on a
- 14:48Speaker 1: Chicken Sister's episode of Girls Gone Hallmark. They showed her
- 14:51Speaker 1: a lot. They showed her a lot. Yeah, and fun fact,
- 14:55Speaker 1: her mom is the one who ends up on stage
- 14:58Speaker 1: at one point. We'll talk about that. Oh oh, I
- 15:00Speaker 1: can't wait to hear more. Let me unpack this here
- 15:02Speaker 1: a little bit, Gaila Alicia. If you did not watch,
- 15:05Speaker 1: they were on the docuseries Christmas at Sea. They're good friends.
- 15:10Speaker 1: If you recall, they're from Long Beach, California, which is
- 15:14Speaker 1: not many miles from where we are here. And I
- 15:17Speaker 1: gotta tell you I'm not taking it well that we
- 15:21Speaker 1: were not invited to judge this competition next year, Girls
- 15:26Speaker 1: Gone Homer, Yeah, judges the talent competition. Could you even
- 15:29Speaker 1: imagine dream come true? I would Yeah, Oh I would
- 15:33Speaker 1: love it. I would love it. Please call us. So,
- 15:37Speaker 1: not only do they have to they have a it's
- 15:40Speaker 1: similar to last year where they have to share a
- 15:42Speaker 1: talent and then they're also going to be fielding a question. Yeah.
- 15:46Speaker 1: What's different from last year is remember they had to
- 15:48Speaker 1: go off stage and then talk to the gal from
- 15:50Speaker 1: E News or whatever. Yes, which was a difficult challenge
- 15:54Speaker 1: as well. Yes, I think this one was equally as
- 15:58Speaker 1: hard because and then you're talking you respond in front
- 16:01Speaker 1: of a bunch of people. Yeah, more pageant like true? Yeah, yeah,
- 16:07Speaker 1: you have to respond off the cuff in front of
- 16:09Speaker 1: a live audience. So what do you think is a
- 16:11Speaker 1: better challenge. Is it a better challenge to have to
- 16:15Speaker 1: talk to press and have your answer dialed in like
- 16:19Speaker 1: we saw in season one or did you like this
- 16:21Speaker 1: one better? I think I think there's validity in both.
- 16:25Speaker 1: They need to be able to speak off the cuff.
- 16:27Speaker 1: I think this to me, Are they going to end
- 16:30Speaker 1: up in a pageant? No? Are they going to end
- 16:32Speaker 1: up in a media line where there's going to be
- 16:33Speaker 1: a lot of people hearing, you know, like a red
- 16:36Speaker 1: carpet situation where they're going to have to answer a
- 16:39Speaker 1: bunch of questions. Yeah. They need to be able to
- 16:41Speaker 1: talk in front of an audience, regardless of whether that's
- 16:44Speaker 1: an audience of extras watching on competition or a media
- 16:48Speaker 1: audience or all the crew on set. Yeah. So I
- 16:52Speaker 1: think there's validity in all of it. Craig's first with
- 16:55Speaker 1: a wicked he beatbox off stage and then we kind
- 17:02Speaker 1: of hear it like it's like a warm up, right,
- 17:03Speaker 1: and everyone's like, what's happening? And then he comes out
- 17:05Speaker 1: on stage, and actually his beatbox he's pretty good. I
- 17:08Speaker 1: thought his beboxing was really good. I thought his rap
- 17:11Speaker 1: was not so great, but I thought his beboxing was
- 17:14Speaker 1: really good. So I said, his rap is giving vanilla ice,
- 17:17Speaker 1: but it is fun and entertaining and he does get
- 17:19Speaker 1: the audience involved. I wrote that his rap is giving
- 17:23Speaker 1: popular guy at the two thousand and nine Talent Show
- 17:25Speaker 1: who absolutely sends the sophomores into a frenzy, right like
- 17:31Speaker 1: the hot guy in high school. He gets up there
- 17:34Speaker 1: and likes all that drops beats and you're like what,
- 17:36Speaker 1: and then everybody goes nuts. Yeah. So I think here
- 17:40Speaker 1: the question is like for me, the question is less
- 17:43Speaker 1: about their talent and more about are they selling themselves?
- 17:47Speaker 1: And I do think Craig sells himself. He's confident on stage,
- 17:52Speaker 1: He's got a lot of energy. I like all of that.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Let's deep dive into Craig for a second. Here, Craig,
- 17:59Speaker 1: mister bull choices mister bould choices one. And this was
- 18:04Speaker 1: a bold choice, even though we saw a rap last
- 18:06Speaker 1: week from him too. You're right, I just I'm a
- 18:10Speaker 1: little worried about Craig because he's a little bit giving
- 18:14Speaker 1: class clown and while I think he's talented, and I
- 18:18Speaker 1: think he's handsome, and I think he has a lot
- 18:20Speaker 1: of confidence and all of those things will serve him. Well,
- 18:23Speaker 1: I think we're gonna need to see him dial it
- 18:26Speaker 1: in and really focus hone in on the craft, yes,
- 18:32Speaker 1: instead of trying to make a big splash all the time. Yeah.
- 18:36Speaker 1: When asked what his unique traits that he can bring
- 18:40Speaker 1: to the table, he says he's in touch with his
- 18:41Speaker 1: emotions and he can bring that to his hallmark roles.
- 18:43Speaker 1: And so for me, this is like, this isn't lining
- 18:46Speaker 1: up with what we've seen. We haven't seen the deeply
- 18:49Speaker 1: emotional sensitive guy. We've seen that I'm gonna make you laugh.
- 18:54Speaker 1: I'm going to bring the energy life of the party guy.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Do you think that should have been his answer? Well, no,
- 18:59Speaker 1: because I think he know that we need to see
- 19:01Speaker 1: him as this guy. But he needs to show, not tell.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Don't tell me that you can connect with your emotions.
- 19:07Speaker 1: We need to see that. I got it. Marcus is
- 19:10Speaker 1: up next, and Marcus is doing magic. Marcus's segment goes
- 19:15Speaker 1: on way too long. Yes, you're right, and I wonder
- 19:18Speaker 1: how much editing is done. He does take a volunteer
- 19:20Speaker 1: from the audience, which I think is a smart move.
- 19:23Speaker 1: And Craig we get the behind the scenes information that
- 19:28Speaker 1: he was helping Marcus practice the night before and Marcus
- 19:30Speaker 1: wasn't getting it. Yeah. First of all, magic is interesting
- 19:34Speaker 1: to me because I don't know how any of that works. Sure,
- 19:37Speaker 1: I was blown away when he got the right card.
- 19:39Speaker 1: I was like, how is that even possible? So was I,
- 19:41Speaker 1: but I couldn't help. Do you remember the game show
- 19:43Speaker 1: Card Sharks when we were young? I do, and they
- 19:46Speaker 1: had those big, giant cards. It's just like what he
- 19:50Speaker 1: was using. Yes, where did they find those cards that? Honestly,
- 19:57Speaker 1: I was like, how could he possibly? Like? He has
- 19:59Speaker 1: no control. I didn't understand it. I need someone to
- 20:01Speaker 1: explain it to me. Email us girls, go on Hamemark
- 20:03Speaker 1: at gmail dot com. Because he had no control over
- 20:05Speaker 1: what cards were being sent off the table. I didn't.
- 20:08Speaker 1: But he gets it right unless they edited it, I
- 20:11Speaker 1: don't know. He's asked who he would call first if
- 20:14Speaker 1: he won the lottery, and he says his mom, which
- 20:17Speaker 1: everyone finds very touching. Robbie the Lobby is up next.
- 20:21Speaker 1: Uh oh, Wendy's cringing. I'm not cringing. I think he
- 20:26Speaker 1: hits the stage with some holiday jokes that hits, but
- 20:30Speaker 1: I don't like waiting for the audience laughter. It makes
- 20:33Speaker 1: me nervous. Sure, so bold choice for him to go
- 20:37Speaker 1: up there and do stand up comedy, because not everybody
- 20:42Speaker 1: can do that. Yeah. I think he's dynamic and he's charming,
- 20:45Speaker 1: and his delivery is engaging. It's not Netflix special worthy
- 20:49Speaker 1: funny in my opinion, but he's not dying on the line.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Their audience is at least reacting, and Jonathan and Melissa
- 20:56Speaker 1: are having a good time with it as well. So
- 20:59Speaker 1: I too, was very nervous watching someone do stand up
- 21:01Speaker 1: who is not a stand up comedian. Yeah, makes me
- 21:04Speaker 1: very nervous for them because that is my absolute, probably
- 21:07Speaker 1: worst nightmare on stage. But he really sells it. In
- 21:11Speaker 1: his interview question, Well, wait a second before we get
- 21:14Speaker 1: to that, what did you think about him roasting Jonathan
- 21:18Speaker 1: Good move, bad move? I think it was done in
- 21:22Speaker 1: a good natured enough way, like he used to play
- 21:25Speaker 1: the high school heart rob and now he's playing the principal.
- 21:27Speaker 1: I think it's funny. He wasn't he it wasn't mean spirited. Yeah,
- 21:31Speaker 1: I didn't. I didn't think it was that mean spirited either,
- 21:33Speaker 1: but again a bold move well, and later Jonathan said, like,
- 21:36Speaker 1: it's the ultimate form of flattery if someone is thinking
- 21:39Speaker 1: about you enough to roast you. And I don't share
- 21:41Speaker 1: that sentiment. You don't want to be roasted, Nope. You
- 21:43Speaker 1: don't want to go to the girl's gon Hallmark roast, Nope.
- 21:46Speaker 1: So he is asked what life event he would redo
- 21:49Speaker 1: if he could, and he tells a story about his
- 21:51Speaker 1: mother having a heart attack and she says, you know,
- 21:54Speaker 1: you don't need to come home. I'm gonna be fine,
- 21:55Speaker 1: and he honors her wishes, and then a week later
- 21:59Speaker 1: she passed terrible, and everyone's in tears. Marcus is in tears,
- 22:04Speaker 1: Melissa is in tears, like everyone's crying. I have a
- 22:08Speaker 1: question because back in episode one, it was a little
- 22:12Speaker 1: unclear if Robbie's mom was still alive, because he did
- 22:16Speaker 1: say we used to watch Hallmark movies together, and I
- 22:20Speaker 1: was like, when we had talked about it, I was
- 22:22Speaker 1: like asking you off mic, like is it clear or
- 22:25Speaker 1: not clear? His mom is still living? So now we know, yes,
- 22:29Speaker 1: oh Robbie. And then he's smart he says talking about
- 22:36Speaker 1: those experiences can be healing for himself. And then as
- 22:39Speaker 1: well for others who hear them. And honestly, this is
- 22:41Speaker 1: why I'm team Robbie. Yeah, me too, big fan. Big
- 22:47Speaker 1: surprise here, Rustin's gonna sing a song and he's like,
- 22:50Speaker 1: it's about how I felt when I met my wife.
- 22:52Speaker 1: And did we know that Rustin is married? I think so.
- 22:55Speaker 1: I just don't think he wears a wedding band. I
- 22:58Speaker 1: just don't think he like really talks about it, because
- 23:00Speaker 1: maybe he did study last year knowing. Remember Parker only
- 23:05Speaker 1: talked about his wife, and that doesn't land well. I
- 23:10Speaker 1: don't think we learned. They've been together for nine years
- 23:12Speaker 1: and there's a whole photo package of him and his wife.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Real cute. I was just gonna if my notes say
- 23:17Speaker 1: she's as cute as she can be. And they have
- 23:19Speaker 1: this picture of them on this like cliff top or something,
- 23:21Speaker 1: and they're all in their wedding stuff. It's gorgeous. You look.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Russen has a bright, clear, beautiful voice, and everyone's really
- 23:29Speaker 1: charmed by his singing. I'm actually kind of bored by it,
- 23:31Speaker 1: to be honest, I just like, I just don't think
- 23:34Speaker 1: there's any denying that he has talent. None. No, I mean, yes,
- 23:38Speaker 1: he does have talent, no denying it. Yeah, sure. He's
- 23:42Speaker 1: asked to talk about the time he overcame adversity. He
- 23:44Speaker 1: talks about the accidents he's been in and how they
- 23:46Speaker 1: gave him an opportunity to look back and say that
- 23:48Speaker 1: he had overcome that moment. And spoiler alert, that doesn't
- 23:51Speaker 1: really connect with the judges. I'm kind of surprised by
- 23:52Speaker 1: that me too. I think that's very thoughtful. Actually, yeah, yeah,
- 23:57Speaker 1: that's too bad. It didn't land with the judges. Now
- 24:00Speaker 1: Angel does. But Angel does best, and he breaks my
- 24:02Speaker 1: heart immediately by saying, whenever he has a lot of
- 24:05Speaker 1: eyes on himself, he hears judgment in the silence. No,
- 24:09Speaker 1: I know. So he's going to dance the Bachatta to
- 24:13Speaker 1: share his love of Latin music. And the volunteer is
- 24:16Speaker 1: one Miss Marry Movie Club Sydney's mom. Is that Andrea
- 24:21Speaker 1: where Melissa was like, go ahead, Andrea. She was pouting
- 24:25Speaker 1: from the front of that way. May have been the
- 24:28Speaker 1: Davy volunteers. It I don't remember. I do know that
- 24:31Speaker 1: Melissa has to be held back twice, and definitely in
- 24:33Speaker 1: this moment, she's disappointed that she cannot volunteer. Right Rookie,
- 24:37Speaker 1: we see Jonathan Melissa dancing off stage together. He's asked
- 24:40Speaker 1: how he can make the world a better place, and
- 24:44Speaker 1: he says he'll never let people bullying him or put
- 24:46Speaker 1: him down change who he is and wants to be
- 24:48Speaker 1: an example for others by being himself. Angel is deeply
- 24:52Speaker 1: lovable truly. And then did you see what Rustin said? No,
- 24:57Speaker 1: Rustin says, I believe Angel is my biggest competitor because
- 25:00Speaker 1: he keeps delivering the heart. Oh he's not wrong. Nope.
- 25:05Speaker 1: Gabe comes next, Guys. This is his choice of talent
- 25:10Speaker 1: is on level of making cocktails and rollerblades. Yea, he
- 25:13Speaker 1: is balancing on a like a wobbly balance board while
- 25:18Speaker 1: solving a Rubik's cube, which they don't they call it
- 25:20Speaker 1: a puzzle cube. Look, I found it charming as well,
- 25:23Speaker 1: because I love Gabe and I don't know if the
- 25:27Speaker 1: audience was super into it. The audience is hyping him up,
- 25:31Speaker 1: but he's not connecting with the audience. And I also
- 25:37Speaker 1: found it charming, but I don't think he understood the
- 25:41Speaker 1: assignment so to speak. Yeah, look, I think it's real
- 25:46Speaker 1: cool when somebody can do a Rubik's cube quickly, because
- 25:50Speaker 1: those are unsolvable for me, I just don't have that
- 25:52Speaker 1: brain for it, So I thought it was cool. But
- 25:54Speaker 1: he also talked about how the Rubik's cube, like being
- 25:59Speaker 1: able to solve it quickly, gave him this some perspective
- 26:03Speaker 1: that he can do anything. Yeah, it taught him perseverance. Yeah,
- 26:07Speaker 1: and I mean that's been his through line, the entire
- 26:10Speaker 1: series of confidence. Can he do this? This is completely
- 26:15Speaker 1: new to him, So it all tracks for me. Look,
- 26:19Speaker 1: as we said in the beginning, the writing is on
- 26:20Speaker 1: the wall, and when I see this, you know, it
- 26:24Speaker 1: is kind of clear to me that in terms of
- 26:26Speaker 1: the performances that he doesn't connect with the audience as well.
- 26:30Speaker 1: The engagement is coming from the audience to him as
- 26:32Speaker 1: opposed to the other way around. Yeah, but like he's
- 26:35Speaker 1: got that smile and the crowd goes wild when he
- 26:37Speaker 1: solves it. He's asks what he would tell his younger self,
- 26:40Speaker 1: and he says, you have nothing to worry about. You
- 26:42Speaker 1: just need to believe in yourself. And look, again, I'm teen, Gabriel.
- 26:45Speaker 1: I really do enjoy him a lot. I mean too
- 26:48Speaker 1: ready for Davy, Oh, Davy, Davy, Davy, Davy, red satin shorts,
- 26:54Speaker 1: suspenders and a routine like magic mic, did you know
- 26:57Speaker 1: it's Melissa take a little piggoted his buns before he
- 26:59Speaker 1: went on site. But she's standing next to him and
- 27:03Speaker 1: you just see her glance down. Hilarious. Yeah, there was
- 27:08Speaker 1: something quite sentil lading about his Talent Show performance. I
- 27:13Speaker 1: thought he says, I'm not the kind of guy to
- 27:15Speaker 1: show a lot of skin all the time, and come on, dude,
- 27:17Speaker 1: yes you are. Come on, Dami knows what he looks like.
- 27:20Speaker 1: This is his wife. Throw back to the modeling challenge
- 27:23Speaker 1: when all the guys are pumping up before and he's like,
- 27:25Speaker 1: I don't need to do that, right, this is this
- 27:29Speaker 1: is silly. Yeah, this is why winners Lewis. This is
- 27:31Speaker 1: when his like dad bot jokes why they don't land right? Yeah? Yeah,
- 27:36Speaker 1: But you know, I guess he like leaned into what
- 27:40Speaker 1: he knows. He knows, he knows his body looks great,
- 27:43Speaker 1: and he's like, Okay, let's do some like funny exercises
- 27:46Speaker 1: with a participant. Like that's smart, it's hilarious, it's super
- 27:50Speaker 1: fun to watch. He's super high energy, he does squats,
- 27:54Speaker 1: he does a little bit of a breakdance push up situation.
- 27:58Speaker 1: That's what I'm talking. Like magic Mike when he was
- 28:01Speaker 1: like doing the push ups and then like doing a
- 28:03Speaker 1: full like one to eighties. Yeah, I mean, way to
- 28:06Speaker 1: take this is what you know and make it entertaining,
- 28:10Speaker 1: because if you said I'm gonna work out on stage,
- 28:12Speaker 1: like nobody goes, oh, that's going to be entertaining to watch.
- 28:15Speaker 1: And it was. I agree. Davy's us wants the best
- 28:18Speaker 1: part about Christmas morning, and he says being together with
- 28:21Speaker 1: his son, and what are you gonna say? What are
- 28:23Speaker 1: you gonna say? Yeah, I thought you're telling me asking
- 28:26Speaker 1: me what I was gonna say. I Oh, I mean
- 28:28Speaker 1: it's boring, but he's not given that grade of a
- 28:30Speaker 1: question to answer. And what else he's gonna say. He's
- 28:32Speaker 1: a new dad, of course he's gonna say, spending it
- 28:35Speaker 1: with my baby son. Yeah. So Jonathan tells Angel what
- 28:39Speaker 1: his advantage is. I completely forgot. I wonder if Angel
- 28:42Speaker 1: had forgotten too, Yeah I had. JB tells him that
- 28:47Speaker 1: he has immunity, or he can share his immunity with
- 28:50Speaker 1: somebody who may be in trouble. Yeah, that's a lot
- 28:56Speaker 1: to bear. Yeah, I mean Angel himself is like thank you,
- 28:58Speaker 1: but no thank you. I don't blame him because what
- 29:02Speaker 1: do you do in this situation, Like if your Angel,
- 29:05Speaker 1: I mean, we'll talk about what he does. And I
- 29:07Speaker 1: think he makes a smart choice. I think he makes
- 29:09Speaker 1: a safe choice. Well, yeah, because you're down to seven guys.
- 29:14Speaker 1: If you save the person who is most in danger
- 29:17Speaker 1: of going home, there's no one here that anybody doesn't
- 29:20Speaker 1: want to be here, right, So if you save the
- 29:23Speaker 1: to me, it's clear who should go home, unfortunately, and
- 29:26Speaker 1: if you save the person who's most in danger of
- 29:28Speaker 1: going home, then you're sending home someone who didn't necessarily
- 29:31Speaker 1: deserve to. Yeah, And so I feel like they put
- 29:33Speaker 1: Angel in an unfortunate position because if he had kept
- 29:35Speaker 1: it for himself, you know, that makes him look selfish,
- 29:39Speaker 1: but has the potential to kind of mess up the
- 29:41Speaker 1: king a little bit totally. So they deliberate, and it
- 29:47Speaker 1: seems like they think Davy and Rustin brought it on
- 29:51Speaker 1: the talent the most, but they didn't think Rustin delivered
- 29:55Speaker 1: on his question. And my guess is the way they talk,
- 29:59Speaker 1: I think there were more questions asked than we saw.
- 30:02Speaker 1: I thought they asked multiple questions and we only saw
- 30:04Speaker 1: one from each guy. They thought Robbie nailed it top
- 30:08Speaker 1: to bottom. They thought Craig struggled. They're like, let's talk
- 30:11Speaker 1: about who struggled, and they get to Craig. And it's
- 30:13Speaker 1: interesting because I didn't really think Craig's performance struggled. I
- 30:17Speaker 1: didn't think so either. I didn't think I wasn't like
- 30:19Speaker 1: super wowed by it, but I didn't think it was terrible. No,
- 30:24Speaker 1: I didn't think it was bottom two. No. No, Melissa
- 30:28Speaker 1: wants to see a more heartfelt Craig as opposed to
- 30:30Speaker 1: big swing, make a big laugh Craig. I actually wonder
- 30:34Speaker 1: should Angel have been in the bottom too? Oh? Interesting?
- 30:37Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't know. I just I'm thinking
- 30:40Speaker 1: about their performances. Right, Angel got up there and he
- 30:43Speaker 1: went up there and danced. Yeah, how is that like?
- 30:47Speaker 1: Really Marcus did a card trick? I don't know. Maybe
- 30:50Speaker 1: Marcus should have been Yeah. I wasn't blown away by
- 30:52Speaker 1: Marcus's in terms of like what we're seeing in the
- 30:56Speaker 1: audience engagement. I wasn't that excited about Marcus. I thought
- 31:00Speaker 1: Angel was okay, but I do think there were more
- 31:04Speaker 1: exciting performances. I wonder if Angel's not in the bottom too,
- 31:07Speaker 1: because he had immunity and they didn't want to punish
- 31:10Speaker 1: him that way. Yeah, because he is left vulnerable when
- 31:13Speaker 1: he gives his immunity away. We'll get into those details
- 31:18Speaker 1: in a second, but yeah, maybe they're like, well, and
- 31:20Speaker 1: then they talk about Gabriel and they talk about how
- 31:22Speaker 1: they were so nervous watching him, And that's not the
- 31:24Speaker 1: feeling you want the audience to have while they're watching
- 31:26Speaker 1: you perform. But I was nervous watching Robbie tell his jokes. Sure, same,
- 31:31Speaker 1: So I feel like that could be applied to Robbie
- 31:35Speaker 1: as well. Yeah, let's take a quick break and we'll
- 31:37Speaker 1: come back with our eliminations. We're in the elimination cave.
- 31:49Speaker 1: The first thing we need to do is find out
- 31:50Speaker 1: what Angel's going to do with his immunity. Yes, now,
- 31:53Speaker 1: in the editing here they flashed Gabriel's face multiple times.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Did you notice I only noticed it when he is
- 31:59Speaker 1: not chosen. Yeah. So Angel says that there's a voice
- 32:03Speaker 1: telling him that mister Christmas is not selfish, So he's
- 32:05Speaker 1: going to give the immunity away, and he gives it
- 32:08Speaker 1: to Robbie. And this is when we cut to Gabriel's
- 32:11Speaker 1: disappointed face, perhaps resigned to his fate. Yeah, here are
- 32:15Speaker 1: my thoughts and we kind of already touch on it,
- 32:17Speaker 1: but like, what is Angel to do in this situation? Right,
- 32:20Speaker 1: Robbie was not in danger. He gave a heartfelt, thoughtful
- 32:25Speaker 1: response to the questions he got during the talent show.
- 32:29Speaker 1: He was not in danger. I think Angel made a
- 32:32Speaker 1: safe move of choosing somebody who was going to be
- 32:36Speaker 1: safe regardless. So he was touched by the story about
- 32:39Speaker 1: Robbie losing his mom. Angel has a lot of memories
- 32:43Speaker 1: of his own mom that are very touching, they said
- 32:45Speaker 1: Davian Rustin both stood out with the winner of the
- 32:49Speaker 1: Star Quality Challenge is Robbie. Robbie a lobby is just
- 32:54Speaker 1: doing it, He's just praying it. He also received the
- 32:58Speaker 1: most votes from the audience. Well that's impressive, right, because
- 33:04Speaker 1: if I would have assumed it would be Davy, I
- 33:06Speaker 1: would have voted for Davey simply on the entertainment factor alone.
- 33:10Speaker 1: I wonder who's Sidney from Merrymovie Club voted for? We
- 33:14Speaker 1: should ask her? And then we see Angel freaking out.
- 33:17Speaker 1: He's like, oh, what have I done? What have I done?
- 33:20Speaker 1: I know it's unfair to put him in that position. Yeah,
- 33:24Speaker 1: he's going to be living with that sort of like guilt.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Uh huh, that's just not I mean it makes for
- 33:31Speaker 1: good TV. Yeah, I'm almost wondering about the production behind
- 33:34Speaker 1: the scenes here, like did they hold off on telling
- 33:37Speaker 1: Angel his reward because they wanted the ability to finagle
- 33:43Speaker 1: a situation make sure that Gabriel. I'm very sorry, but
- 33:49Speaker 1: it was time for Gabriel to go home. Did they
- 33:52Speaker 1: want to make sure that happened? Did they want to
- 33:53Speaker 1: put Angel in a situation if for some reason, Gabriel
- 33:58Speaker 1: nailed it in this challenge? I don't know. I don't know. Well, okay,
- 34:03Speaker 1: let's rewind a second. What if Gabriel would have won
- 34:05Speaker 1: the Festive face off, right, and then he would have
- 34:08Speaker 1: won immunity. Yes, Gabriel would have been smart to keep
- 34:13Speaker 1: it for himself. Obviously Gabriel knows. Then who would have
- 34:16Speaker 1: gone home? I wonder, great question, and that's why I
- 34:20Speaker 1: get a little peeved about how the Festive face off
- 34:24Speaker 1: went down with Angel winning by grabbing that. Yes, yeah,
- 34:29Speaker 1: anybody else wouldn't really have had any big effect on
- 34:32Speaker 1: the outcome of this episode, right, Yeah, that's a great point.
- 34:37Speaker 1: The bottom two, as we mentioned, are Gabriel and Craig,
- 34:41Speaker 1: and I am surprised, just as you are by Craig.
- 34:45Speaker 1: But Jonathan says, Craig has confidence for days, but perhaps
- 34:48Speaker 1: he's hiding behind it and not letting everyone in on
- 34:50Speaker 1: his true self. And I think there's some truth to that.
- 34:54Speaker 1: And they've been asking Gabriel to believe in himself and
- 34:56Speaker 1: they see peaks of it, but he's not quite there yet.
- 34:58Speaker 1: And time marches on and Gabriel needs to take his
- 35:02Speaker 1: stocking and go home. I kind of laughed at the
- 35:05Speaker 1: scenes with him coming into the house. He's just this
- 35:09Speaker 1: very upright, like walks in, very upright like grabs a stocking,
- 35:13Speaker 1: turns around, walks out like there's no like reminiscing, Oh yeah,
- 35:18Speaker 1: I mean it might just be cut like that, but
- 35:19Speaker 1: he was like grab a stocking and then gtfo, I
- 35:22Speaker 1: what didn't even clock any of that. He's just like,
