- 2:08All right, what's up everyone? Welcome in to Inside the Hoosier
- 2:11Mind, brought to you in part by military Broadcast radio,
- 2:14helping give veterans a voice here with Mike Hughes, the shy
- 2:17kid back after a 4th of July break and honestly, just another
- 2:22little extended vacation because I was not.
- 2:24I had a migraine last time. I was not feeling it.
- 2:26And yeah, it was. It was just rough.
- 2:28But we're back. Mike, buddy, How are you?
- 2:30Good Sir. I'm doing a lot better than
- 2:32Najee Harris and his 4th of July brother.
- 2:35That's, that's how I'm doing my fingers.
- 2:37Fingers are still here, all 10 at this point in 2025.
- 2:42Man, I, I don't know how, especially with professional
- 2:44athletes who need their hands are, are still at this point
- 2:48where guys are losing fingers on the 4th.
- 2:50I, I feel like I should be in contract.
- 2:53You know, I, I know Patrick Mahomes, if I'm not mistaken,
- 2:55isn't allowed to like go skiing or like play basketball or stuff
- 2:59like that during the offseason because I just don't want him to
- 3:01get hurt. I, I don't, I don't think we
- 3:03need a firework clause in contracts, but tone, I think we
- 3:07do. But my my 4th is pretty pretty
- 3:08solid. I can tell you from a military
- 3:11aspect, we used to get safety briefings a lot and we used to
- 3:15get weekend safety briefings in particular, and we would always
- 3:17get one around the 4th of July. And one of those was definitely
- 3:22don't be stupid with fireworks. Like a lot of times the bare
- 3:25basics of a military safety brief was don't add to the
- 3:29population unless you intend to. Don't subtract from the
- 3:32population unless you're prepared to suffer.
- 3:35The judge does not come in until Mondays unless it's a holiday
- 3:38weekend and he's not coming until Tuesday.
- 3:40And your first Sergeant may or may not be the person that comes
- 3:43and gets you if first Sergeant decides to do that.
- 3:47So, yeah, if there's ever anything, if there's ever a
- 3:49safety brief or there's ever a warning label on something, it's
- 3:52because somebody did it in the past, and that's why we have
- 3:56those today. Yep.
- 3:58But but yeah, it, it's, it's crazy, buddy.
- 4:01We are. We're like halfway through the
- 4:03offseason for football as a whole.
- 4:07We got 6 Saturdays left until college football starts again,
- 4:10which I'm excited. I'm ready to go NCAA 26 dropping
- 4:15that helps quite a bit because that kind of helps, you know,
- 4:18kind of get real deep, you know, ease into that, be like year 20
- 4:21of your dynasty and whatnot. And then you can, you know, you
- 4:24can start watching regular college football and whatnot,
- 4:27guys. The 20th year senior over here
- 4:29inside the Hoosier mine. It's crazy. 20 national titles
- 4:32like LSU undefeated, never taken AL.
- 4:35Stenson Bennett going wild. Transferred to 8 junior
- 4:39colleges. I have 9 pH DS but nonetheless
- 4:45though buddy there there is a little bit of some drama though
- 4:48because because it is the offseason, I feel like the
- 4:51deeper you get into it, the more the drama stirs because
- 4:54everybody's getting restless before the season starts and
- 4:57what not. That's when all the juicy stuff
- 4:59happens. So the biggest one being the
- 5:02Bengals first round pick out of this previous draft, Shamar
- 5:07Stewart out of Texas A&M, drafted number 17th overall this
- 5:11past April with the Bengals still has not signed his rookie
- 5:15contract. Now for my understanding from
- 5:16everything that I've read, it's the verbiage in the contract.
- 5:21And again, if everything I read and understood is true and if
- 5:24anybody knows a little bit better deeper, please feel free
- 5:27to correct me. It's essentially if anything was
- 5:31to happen to him as far as like injuries go, depending on how
- 5:34good or how bad it is, they could potentially have an escape
- 5:40as far as paying him his money that he's owed.
- 5:43Now, the weird thing, well, not the weird thing, but the benefit
- 5:47of a lot of these rookie deals is a lot of the money is
- 5:49guaranteed up front. Now the bad part for Shamar
- 5:52Stewart is he got drafted to an organization who unfortunately
- 5:55is a lot like Jerry Jones, very stingy and stringent about
- 6:00giving up money as far as two sides go.
- 6:02So the Bengal, the Bengals owners are not a fan of it.
- 6:06So he still hasn't signed and there's rumors and potential
- 6:10that he could even try to return back to Texas A&M for this
- 6:15coming season. Now, obviously he would have to
- 6:17fill out a waiver. There's a little bit of a
- 6:19lawsuit process he'd have to go through with the NCAA and it may
- 6:23not completely end up going well for him because if he does that,
- 6:29there is a potential that he could.
- 6:34That completely threw me off. I don't, I don't know why that
- 6:37little change up there just threw me out.
- 6:38I don't know if you saw that. I saw it completely threw me.
- 6:40Off I didn't see it. Oh I saw it but nonetheless
- 6:44though it it's bad because if it doesn't go through and he tries
- 6:50to forgo football he could re enter the draft next year.
- 6:54But what will that do to his draft stock if he does?
- 6:58Because you've already been drafted this past season.
- 7:00You didn't sign the contract because of issues and disputes.
- 7:04Are you going to be labeled as, you know, a problem?
- 7:08And then on top of that, where are you going to be drafted in
- 7:11the future? Because do people still consider
- 7:14you a first round talent because you may or may not have to sit
- 7:16out for an entire year before you do anything.
- 7:20And this is kind of how you're portraying yourself, not saying
- 7:23that Shamar's in the wrong. That's just the potential.
- 7:27And I know you brought up two. There's only one second round
- 7:30pick that has even signed his contract so far this offseason
- 7:34across the entire league, only one second second round pick.
- 7:38So Mike, buddy, I'll kind of pitch the first question to you.
- 7:40And you you kind of tell me what you think.
- 7:43Do you think, do you think this is more on the athletes
- 7:47themselves as far as now that they have NIL, there's a little
- 7:52bit more flexibility in their say of where they want to play,
- 7:55what they want to do or, and this, the second part is where
- 8:00I'm kind of leaning more towards, do you think it's the
- 8:04agents? And I'm even going to say agents
- 8:06because I don't know how many of them are legitimate agents or
- 8:08not. Who's just an uncle like?
- 8:10Right. Is it, is it family members that
- 8:13are giving these kids bad advice and they're not giving them
- 8:17what's truly going to set them up best for success as far as,
- 8:20look, this is what you need to negotiate.
- 8:22This is what you need to fight and work for.
- 8:25Do you think it's something like that with some of these kids
- 8:27being kind of steered the wrong direction?
- 8:29Because I know we talked a little bit about it as far as
- 8:31the NBA goes with Bailey for the Jazz, as far as him not him not
- 8:36showing up at all. And it's like, all right, well,
- 8:39that agent isn't exactly doing him the biggest of favors
- 8:42either. So what what's your thought on
- 8:44now? Kind of really all these
- 8:46collegiate athletes coming into these professional leagues, in a
- 8:50sense, it kind of seems either really misled or they're like
- 8:54really entitled, one of the two. Well, first, inside the Hoosier
- 8:57mind, we're only human and we point out things that aren't in
- 9:01this topics or in the conversations.
- 9:02Tony was thrown off earlier by something at the top of the
- 9:04screen, but as you were talking, something threw me off.
- 9:08Tone, I'm looking at your headset right now and you have
- 9:10this green screen on and right here on both sides it looks as
- 9:14if nothing's connected or like keeping the earpieces on.
- 9:18And while you were talking, I fully heard your questions but I
- 9:21had to repeat them to myself like 3 different times because
- 9:25I'm looking at it and 1st I saw the left side and I'm looking at
- 9:28it. I'm looking at it.
- 9:28I'm like that's crazy and maybe it's just cracked.
- 9:31And then I look at the right side and I go Oh my God, it's on
- 9:34both sides. So I don't know what color that
- 9:35is for you. Is it green?
- 9:38It's stainless steel, believe it or not.
- 9:40Stainless. So then why is it?
- 9:42Why is it picking up on the green screen?
- 9:44That's crazy. I don't know.
- 9:45Real funny right? Right before you said that I was
- 9:48looking I was like Oh my ears are floating.
- 9:51So glad you and I are on the same wavelength.
- 9:53I was like, remember the question, remember the question,
- 9:56but first Shamar man, first I and I, I said earlier, who's
- 10:00Shamar? No disrespect to him, but it's
- 10:02because I genuinely didn't I, you know, I watched college
- 10:05football, but I, I was very familiar with him.
- 10:08He wasn't a top five, top ten pick.
- 10:10So it's just the, the, the case or for me, I didn't know who he
- 10:13was. So from an NIL perspective, I
- 10:15don't know how much money he actually made through and I owe
- 10:18money. I we'd have to look into that
- 10:20because, but I don't see him being privileged.
- 10:22I see that being a reasonable case because you mentioned it
- 10:26earlier. Only one, which I, I, it was my
- 10:28fault. It's two second round picks have
- 10:31signed their contracts out of the 32.
- 10:33And I'll tell you why because the 1st 2 picks in the second
- 10:38round get fully guaranteed deals.
- 10:40The rest don't. And that's just the way it goes.
- 10:42I don't know why that's what Google AI was telling me, but
- 10:46you know, it's it's interesting to see that all these second
- 10:49round picks are kind of in a situation to where they're like,
- 10:52no man, fuck this like where we want fully guaranteed deals if
- 10:55these two get it, why don't we? It shouldn't matter if they were
- 10:58the first two picks of the second round.
- 11:00And I tie that back into the first part of the question,
- 11:02because you're basically indicating to a first round pick
- 11:05that you're fully guaranteed deal that even a second rounder
- 11:08is getting, you know, 'cause there are two second rounders
- 11:11who are getting fully guaranteed deals.
- 11:13I'm a first round pick going to Cincinnati.
- 11:15You know, you, you give Joe Burrow, Jamar, Chase, T Higgins,
- 11:18all this money, still haven't paid Trey Hendrickson from what
- 11:21I understand. And I don't get a fully
- 11:24guaranteed deal if I break my neck for you.
- 11:26That's bullshit. I don't think it's entitlement.
- 11:28I don't think it's anything about the agents, man.
- 11:30I just think at the end of the day, man, this guy is just like,
- 11:33dude, every other first round pick has a fully guaranteed deal
- 11:36and I get the short end of the stick.
- 11:38And like you said, I'm not I'm I'm not with the Cowboys, you
- 11:41know what I mean? I'm not with one of the worst
- 11:42ran organizations in the league. This is a team that was in the
- 11:45Super Bowl just a few years ago. So, and obviously they don't
- 11:48mind paying you because they did pay Jamar.
- 11:51They did pay T they did pay Joe like they they have no problem
- 11:54with it. So why can't I get a fully
- 11:56guaranteed deal? Tone is it would be my question.
- 11:58If a second rounder's getting it, then why can't I?
- 12:01So I I definitely do agree, like the Ace Bailey situation.
- 12:04There's agents out there that you just kind of shake your head
- 12:06at. You know, there's other ones
- 12:08where it's your mom and and did your mom, you know, get a has.
- 12:12Does she have a business degree? Is she in law in any way?
- 12:14I have no idea, but in, in, in terms of Shamar I, I, I
- 12:19definitely do think he's in the right.
- 12:21I think he's fully capable of getting that full time deal.
- 12:25And, and if you do go back to college, you know, does that
- 12:28mess with your draft stock a little bit next year?
- 12:31I don't think so, because I think other teams would be like,
- 12:33yeah, that's a normal. Like it's it's kind of like
- 12:36walking into a hospital and asking them, Hey, can you treat
- 12:39me? Yeah, probably that's a bad
- 12:41analogy, but you know what I mean?
- 12:42Like, you know what I mean? Like most, most hospitals you
- 12:45walk into, if you need help, they're going to help you.
- 12:47So if you walk into the one that won't, I mean, just go somewhere
- 12:50else, you know what I mean? Like I have no problem with
- 12:52that. Yeah.
- 12:53And and the other thing I read is supposedly this is the
- 12:56verbiage is the same, I think it's in like 2721 or 27 other
- 13:02teams contracts across the league.
- 13:04It's the exact same verbiage and I don't know if it's Cincy is
- 13:09maybe highlighting something a little different, if maybe
- 13:11they've changed or tweaked a couple things as far as you
- 13:13know, the fully guaranteed money maybe being like flexible or
- 13:18fluid or whatever the case may be.
- 13:19But I mean, to his credit too, and he, you know, it's been
- 13:23mentioned with other people, like you said, you know, all
- 13:27these other first round picks beforehand, even within the last
- 13:29couple of years, haven't had to deal with this.
- 13:31Why am I the only one dealing with it?
- 13:33And much to your point, the other two second rounders, they
- 13:35may not have to deal with this. Why do I have to deal with it?
- 13:38So I, I don't blame him for being cautious at all.
- 13:41The only thing that I think to me, and I and I say it because
- 13:45we've seen this happen a lot throughout the league when it
- 13:47comes to guys that take a stand for something that they believe
- 13:51in, no matter what it it may or may not be, they tend to be
- 13:56ostracized and they tend to be, you know, I don't want to say
- 14:00blackballed, but they realistically get blackballed as
- 14:02far as you know, Hey, you, you bucked up against the system.
- 14:07You did something that we didn't really want you to do.
- 14:09Because, you know, at the end of the day, it's these young men's
- 14:13lives. It's their future, it's their
- 14:15career being put on the line, not the people that are signing
- 14:18the checks, not the people that are paying them.
- 14:19It's, it's the young men actually on the field doing
- 14:22this. And the, the thing that kind of
- 14:25worries me is if you try to go back to college and now if
- 14:29college works, you can at least you, you know, threw in Aiella
- 14:33what not, you can potentially get back quite a bit of money.
- 14:36And the, and the reports are, is he's been seen back at College
- 14:39Station down there in Texas, you know, working out the
- 14:41facilities. Now, he's not doing team
- 14:43workouts because that's not allowed at the current moment,
- 14:46but he is allowed to be there. There's a lot of reports that
- 14:49NFL players do that before they move to their respective cities
- 14:51and whatnot. They'll still go back to
- 14:53college. They'll get their workouts in
- 14:54and whatnot using the facilities.
- 14:57I've I've never heard of that being a huge issue before.
- 15:00But then the other thing too, let's say you are able to play
- 15:04in college, you know, you're, you're able to do that, you
- 15:07know, go through it and then you're potentially able to be
- 15:10drafted again. Cincy still potentially holds
- 15:13your draft stock rights. So you may be having to go back
- 15:16to Cincy. Now, there is a, according to
- 15:20let me make sure I read it correctly, according to msn.com.
- 15:30So if Shimur, if if Stewart were tried to play again, he'd have
- 15:35to take legal action against the NCAA in order to get his
- 15:38eligibility back, which, you know, the NCAA has lost quite a
- 15:43few battles. So it could potentially be
- 15:45there. But the Bengals would retain his
- 15:48draft rights if he returned, although he could potentially
- 15:53get that worked around as far as a court battle goes if he wants
- 15:55to really do that. If he were to forgo football
- 15:58entirely, he would be able to then re enter the draft next
- 16:02year where every team except Cincinnati would be able to
- 16:06draft. So again, to me, to me, the only
- 16:10thing that makes me worried is because if we know anything
- 16:13about NFL teams and especially NFL owners, they're like this,
- 16:17They stick together no matter what through thick and thin.
- 16:21I mean, heck, look at how much it took to get Dan Snyder fired
- 16:24from the Commanders. As far as you know, being an
- 16:26owner goes like it took everything in its power to be
- 16:29able to do that. So to me, no matter what, I feel
- 16:34like if he goes down this route, and I'm not saying that he needs
- 16:36to, you know, go ahead and accept it or get what he can
- 16:39while he can. I'm not saying that by no
- 16:41stretch of the imagination. I'm just saying he needs to
- 16:44potentially be prepared for this might not end the way that you
- 16:49or really any fan wants it to end.
- 16:51As far as you're, I'm not going to say his career is going to be
- 16:54over because I think there would always be a team that would be
- 16:57willing to give him a chance, right?
- 16:59But he's going to have to scrape and fight to get that chance is
- 17:01the problem. You might get that Shador
- 17:03Sanders treatment to where it's like, hey man, look and look, I
- 17:06to this day, I think we don't really understand what really
- 17:08went down in that. We're going to find out in the
- 17:10upcoming months. We're going to see Shador play
- 17:12live action. He's getting eaten up by defense
- 17:15as it is what it is, but it kind of kind of felt like something,
- 17:18whether it was Dion or it was chador himself or maybe just the
- 17:21Sanders family as a whole rubbed NFL owners the wrong way,
- 17:24dropping him all the way to the fifth round.
- 17:26That wasn't that wasn't a coincidence that that was that
- 17:29was planned. I felt like it was it was
- 17:31blackballed 100%. So definitely would be
- 17:34interesting to see how that kind of plays out.
- 17:36But you feel for the kid too because it's like, you know, you
- 17:39have all this guaranteed money if you do play and stay healthy.
- 17:42If you if you sign this contract right now, maybe you never get
- 17:44injured and you get however much money you're getting, you know,
- 17:48in that first round contract. But if you get drafted in the
- 17:50fifth round, then you never get injured, not making a lot of
- 17:54money, you know what I mean? Then you really have to show up
- 17:56and show out every single day. It's kind of like you're a walk
- 17:58on in college all over again. You're fighting for that spot to
- 18:00get that, you know, first extension 4-5 years later.
- 18:04Yeah, and someone brought it up and I can't remember who, but
- 18:07someone had brought up the really good point as far as the
- 18:09difference between being a first round pick and being a fifth
- 18:12round pick. Being a first round pick, you'll
- 18:15almost always get another two to three chances like Mitch
- 18:19Trubisky. Look at Zach Wilson.
- 18:21You know, Mitch Trubisky, Zach Wilson.
- 18:24Heck, how many other first round court?
- 18:25Like not even just quarterbacks, but first round players in
- 18:28general? Sam Darnold.
- 18:30Sam Darnold, Trent Richardson, I mean all these first round guys,
- 18:34it's like, OK, well, you're a first round pick.
- 18:36So you know you, you will always have that title behind your back
- 18:40and you can, I'd always go to a team, be like, well, I'm a
- 18:42former first round pick. You know what, you're right.
- 18:44Let's let's go ahead and give you a shot just to see what you
- 18:46can do. The only guy I thought I was
- 18:48curious because you and I, we talk so much Johnny Football all
- 18:51the time. Whenever the whenever I see a
- 18:52meme, I send it to Tony right away about Johnny Football.
- 18:56But he was really the only guy that I really feel like they
- 18:58were like, yeah, bro, get him out of here.
- 18:59You know what I mean? Like, we never saw him again.
- 19:01That was it. But I think we kind of
- 19:03understand why, but definitely expected somebody to take a
- 19:06chance on him. I I kind of pair him almost and
- 19:09it's going to sound bad. I'd kind of pair him with
- 19:11Jamarcus Russell because I mean, it gets another dude taking
- 19:14number one overall. Like, yeah, I think you're the
- 19:17number one overall pick in the draft.
- 19:18Like you said, somebody should be willing to.
- 19:20But again, if the reports are bad enough, and obviously, you
- 19:24know, as Johnny came out, even admitted in a documentary, as
- 19:26other players have come out and, you know, talked about as well,
- 19:29he didn't take it seriously. Now maybe that might change
- 19:33because it's been what, 12 years since 11 years, I think, since
- 19:36he's been drafted because I think he got drafted in 2014.
- 19:39Yeah. So it's been 11 years now.
- 19:41Eleven years later, that might be a different story.
- 19:44But you know, it's kind of the same issue of, well, you haven't
- 19:46played a a true down of NFL football since 2014.
- 19:50So you know what, what's your quality really going to look
- 19:54like? But yeah, it'll it'll be
- 19:56interesting to see how this how this pans out with Shamar
- 19:59throughout throughout the offseason.
- 20:01Maybe, maybe it gets fixed. Maybe it even gets fixed, you
- 20:04know, shortly after the show show finishes.
- 20:06You never know. But another thing as far as
- 20:10college goes that I want to talk about with you, buddy, the NCAA
- 20:14Tournament is coming out and I heard a couple different rumors.
- 20:18They were even talking about this on the radio the other
- 20:20morning. There is talks that the NCAA
- 20:23tournament wants to expand from 64 teams to either 68 or 72
- 20:30teams in the NCAA tournament, both men's and women's
- 20:34basketball. And when I was listening to this
- 20:37and I was listening to the show host kind of talk about it, he
- 20:40brought up a really good point. At what point do you say enough
- 20:44is enough? Because I mean you, you've
- 20:47already got 64. And I mean, we, we love March
- 20:50Madness because anything can happen.
- 20:52You've obviously always got the Cinderella story that can make
- 20:54the deep run. You know, usually here in
- 20:57Indiana produce the team that gets upset almost every time by
- 21:00like a lower seed. But that that's kind of the cool
- 21:05part. But it was interesting because
- 21:07he brought up the point of when you look at even with the 64, I
- 21:12think there's two or four play in games right before the
- 21:15tournament officially starts because you can make your
- 21:18bracket all the way up until like Thursday morning when the
- 21:22first game actually kicks off for the NCAA Tournament.
- 21:26So the play in games don't already matter.
- 21:29And essentially what this would do is this would create more
- 21:32playing games, if I'm understanding correctly.
- 21:35And it gives a chance for other small schools that maybe didn't
- 21:37make the tournament to potentially get there.
- 21:40But again, I mean, at what point are you like kind of enough is
- 21:45enough? I mean, you've typically got
- 21:47about half of each conference. You know, the Big 10 already has
- 21:5018 teams. The SEC is 16.
- 21:53The Big 12, I believe, also has 1614 or 16 teams in it.
- 21:59Then of course, you still have the Big East in college
- 22:03basketball. You have the A10 like you have
- 22:04so many other D1 subdivisions in college basketball than you do
- 22:08in football. Like when when do you sit there
- 22:11and say, OK, we don't, we don't really need the, you know, 14th
- 22:16best team in the Big 10 in the tournament because at that
- 22:20point, could they potentially make a run?
- 22:23Absolutely. But will we have probably seen
- 22:26something in between there? Will they have potentially made
- 22:28a couple statement games that probably even get them into the
- 22:31tournament to start with? Yes, But I don't think that's
- 22:34going to make a huge difference moving forward if they try to
- 22:37expand it to 72. But what, what's your thoughts
- 22:40on it, buddy? Because I mean, I know, I don't
- 22:42know how much you follow college basketball.
- 22:44I know we're, I know we're getting you into college
- 22:46football pretty well. And I know you're, you're,
- 22:47you're rocking with rocking with old Rocky Top.
- 22:50But you know what? What's your thoughts on at least
- 22:52college basketball for both men's and women's wanting to
- 22:55expand even more? Yeah, well, look, I'm going to
- 22:58completely push the men to the side right now.
- 23:01I don't, I don't really, you know, it's, it's conversation we
- 23:03can talk about later on, but because of the draft and
- 23:06everything, it, it makes more sense now if you're expanding
- 23:08these teams, obviously, actually it's going to go into mid-april,
- 23:12maybe late April for this entire tournament.
- 23:15Now I remember 2024, prior to the Chicago Sky drafting Angel
- 23:19Reese and Camila Cardoso, I was at Wrigley Field in a rain
- 23:23delay. I believe we were playing the
- 23:24Dodgers and the Giant Jumbotron is playing the national
- 23:28championship between South Carolina and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
- 23:31Now the problem with this is that was April 7th, 2024.
- 23:34I was trying to see Shohei Otani.
- 23:36You know, I want to see everybody in LA.
- 23:39The WNBA draft was April 15th, So Camilla Cardoso being in that
- 23:44championship game, you know, in a weeks time is drafted into the
- 23:48WNBA and that entire week she's pretty much in New York or
- 23:51wherever the draft is going to be held in the future.
- 23:54And that's kind of a problem for me is if you're you're expanding
- 23:57the tournament, then the WNBA draft for some of these women,
- 24:01they might hear their names getting called while they're
- 24:03still playing in the tournament. And and that's something to me
- 24:06where it's like the WNBA isn't going to budget.
- 24:08The WNBA isn't going to be like, hey, look, we're going to
- 24:10completely change the the date of the draft to accommodate you
- 24:15in the tournament. They don't care, you know what I
- 24:16mean? Like they're still going to do
- 24:18the draft around the same time because the season starts in
- 24:20May. So you know, it definitely
- 24:22doesn't make sense. I think if any anything, March
- 24:25Madness might have to start in late February.
- 24:28I think that that would make a lot more sense.
- 24:30But to expand it later than it already is, I mean, Camila
- 24:33Cardo, so like I said, wins the national championship April 7th
- 24:37and then April 15th a week later is in the WNBA getting ready for
- 24:41training camp like there's no break.
- 24:43And I think that's a big problem because we have seen not only on
- 24:46the women's side, but on the men's side, a lot of guys
- 24:49getting injured right now, a lot of players getting injured.
- 24:51We see a lot more ACL tears as of late.
- 24:54It's been happening a lot throughout the league,
- 24:55especially on the women's side. And I think a big part of that
- 24:58is nonstop competition. These girls are playing nonstop.
- 25:02So it definitely doesn't benefit them whatsoever to be to have to
- 25:07literally pack your bags, move all the way somewhere else to an
- 25:10entire new program. OK, you got a month to figure
- 25:12out this new system. Boom.
- 25:14Now you're now you're traded or you're waived.
- 25:16And there's all these different things happening in the West.
- 25:18So, and then there's the health side of it as well.
- 25:20It's a lot tone. I, I think it's definitely a bad
- 25:23idea in my personal opinion. And I'm going to, I'm going to
- 25:26grab the boys and grab the men back.
- 25:29Pause I think for me, man, the men's side just has to get a lot
- 25:34more entertaining for me to really care.
- 25:36I, I think sometimes we're talking about the Cooper flags
- 25:38at Duke or the Zions at, at North Carolina or, you know, we
- 25:42can, we can go down the list of all these different amazing
- 25:44players Kentucky with, with all the great players that they've
- 25:47had UConn. But tone, I don't really even
- 25:51care to watch some of the best powerhouse schools in all of
- 25:55men's college basketball. You think I want to watch DePaul
- 25:58or, or somewhere in some, some small school in Chicago or
- 26:01somewhere else be a part of the tournament.
- 26:03I don't. And and and that's really where
- 26:05I'm at with that. I think on the men's side, there
- 26:08needs to be that Paige Becker's Angel Reese, Caitlin Clark
- 26:12caliber player again, because they're starting to lose it,
- 26:14man, and the viewership is showing that.
- 26:16So just to add a few more weeks, I guess the numbers will look a
- 26:18little bit better, but they're skewed numbers because you're
- 26:21adding more games, you know what I mean?
- 26:22So I think you just got to bring the fun back into college hoops,
- 26:25man, because I grew up watching it.
- 26:27It was a lot of fun. Shout out Randy and and and the
- 26:30and the tigers, you know, shout out, shout out Memphis baby.
- 26:33But you know, D Rose, watching him do what he did, it was
- 26:35incredible. But, you know, I think it's just
- 26:38lost its touch a little bit. What do you think?
- 26:40Yeah, I mean, I don't disagree. I think I think especially with
- 26:43the men's side here here the last few years, and I mean, we
- 26:48we still used to see it, but I feel like we didn't used to see
- 26:50it as often. You know, look at the Cooper
- 26:52flags, who 18 years old, true freshman at Duke one season and
- 26:57he's like, all right, going to the NBA like, whoa, wait a
- 27:00minute, buddy. Whoa.
- 27:01You could, again, like you said, you could really build up your
- 27:04star power. You could really build up that
- 27:06phantom. Now, again, you're obviously
- 27:08ready for the league 'cause he just dropped like 31 points in
- 27:11game two of the summer League, which doesn't really matter, but
- 27:14still. Shut him down.
- 27:15Immediately after that, right, they're like, yeah, you're no,
- 27:18you're done, buddy. You're good.
- 27:19You, you, yeah, you've already proven it.
- 27:23So to me, that kind of sucks because there's not that like
- 27:25there's not that longevity, there's not that continuity.
- 27:29And I will say Buddy Zion also went to Duke and Duke North
- 27:33Carolina. I said North Carolina, Huh.
- 27:35You did. You did.
- 27:36You know why in my head, and somebody can clown me if I'm
- 27:40wrong, wasn't it North Carolina versus Duke when his shoe
- 27:43exploded? I think so.
- 27:45Yeah, that's kind of why I always, when I think about Zion
- 27:48in college, I always resonated with that game.
- 27:49That's crazy that I said that. Anybody listens to that.
- 27:51It's probably like this guy doesn't know what the fuck he's
- 27:53talking about. Well, especially Duke fans are
- 27:55gonna be like, don't, don't you ever disrespect him by calling
- 27:58him a Tar Heel. And I'm I'm assuming Ray is
- 27:59probably also watching like don't, don't, don't ever put him
- 28:02in a Tar Heel. Uniform.
- 28:03Y'all would have took them. Y'all would y'all?
- 28:05Hey, it was Zion versus Kobe White.
- 28:07Come on, tell me, Tell me who was better, brother, You know
- 28:09what I mean? Like I I love, you know, I love
- 28:12North Carolina. I got no problem with the Tar
- 28:13Heels. Michael Jordan's the Tar Heel
- 28:15forever and home. And you know what you're talking
- 28:17about it, though, Michael Jordan, what, 3 Four Seasons
- 28:19with the Tar Heels? I mean, that he stayed even
- 28:21after winning a national championship.
- 28:22So definitely don't see that anymore.
- 28:24And I think kind of piggybacks our last conversation where it's
- 28:28like that guaranteed money in the NBA don't matter, bro.
- 28:31Like, we're taking it, you know what I mean?
- 28:32And then the contract situation's a lot different as
- 28:34well. So it's like, I feel like guys
- 28:36in the NBAI mean, they're cream of the crop when it comes to
- 28:39like getting kind of everything they've ever wanted.
- 28:41You can tear your ACL the day, you can walk on the podium, the
- 28:45day of the draft and terrier ACL, but as long as long as you
- 28:48heard your name call, brother, you're good.
- 28:49You know what I mean? That's true.
- 28:51And I so here's the other thing and I, it might just sound weird
- 28:55and it's probably because I, I never played, I never did sports
- 28:59in high school. Nothing, nothing like that
- 29:01growing up to an extent. And it, and maybe maybe this is
- 29:05also just me coming from a place where I didn't have a lot of
- 29:07money. I still don't have a lot of
- 29:08money. Like, like if I'm Cooper flag
- 29:11and I'm 18, you know, I don't know how much Duke was paying
- 29:14him. And I'm not even going to try to
- 29:16speculate what that what that potential amount was.
- 29:19Let me think about it. Let's say, let's say
- 29:20hypothetically, Duke's paying you like 2 mil, right?
- 29:24And you're in college. It's like, man, I'm Cooper flag.
- 29:27Like I got, I got great. And then you look at somewhere,
- 29:30you know, that has a whole lot of boosters.
- 29:32It's willing to spend a whole lot of money as far as, you
- 29:34know, basketball and whatnot goes.
- 29:36So you'd say you look at Baylor, you look at Kansas and they're
- 29:38like, hey, we'll we'll pitch you like, you know, 3-4 mil, you
- 29:43come play with us, try to get U.S.
- 29:44National title, OK, Then you go there.
- 29:47No. And this and this is even
- 29:48including all the brand deals. Like I know he has a deal with
- 29:52New Balance. New Balance.
- 29:53And fanatics. So I mean, so you got that money
- 29:57on top of what you're making, you know, from the schools
- 30:00themselves. And then, you know, now you're
- 30:03now you're at least a sophomore, you've got at least, you know,
- 30:06567 mil just in the bank from the schools.
- 30:11You can do one more year even if you really wanted to somewhere
- 30:13else that's probably going to pay you a ton of money or that's
- 30:16those same schools will pay to keep you.
- 30:18Now, again, much to your point, you go in the NBA side and
- 30:22obviously for him, he's going to get a ton of money because he's
- 30:24going to be, you know, one of the best picks and one of the
- 30:26best players out there. But realistically, like if
- 30:29you're already doing that at 18, barring you having any type of
- 30:33major career ending injury in college, to me, you're kind of
- 30:37in a safe bet no matter what. Because one, if you do have a
- 30:40major career ending injury, but you've managed to get to that
- 30:42point, you've already got a few mil set back anyway.
- 30:47So realistically you're still set.
- 30:50If you go to the NBA, you're double set because now you have
- 30:53both the college money and you had the professional money.
- 30:56But I mean that that that's just kind of my thought of it.
- 30:59But I do agree, I think with the men's side, what kind of makes
- 31:03the men's side almost, almost less entertaining, but
- 31:08entertaining at the same time, is the amount of parity that's
- 31:11in the men's side because we don't have like on the women's
- 31:14side, you don't have the Yukons, the South Carolinas, the
- 31:18Tennessees, the Ohio State's, I remember right, Indiana did
- 31:23really well last year for them. Maryland did really well.
- 31:25LSU, you know, you don't have those side.
- 31:29You don't have that on the mends.
- 31:30Like Florida kind of went all in, won the national title.
- 31:34I know they brought kind of a couple of guys back, but a
- 31:35couple guys obviously got drafted and left.
- 31:39You know, Duke lost Cooper flag, you know, but I know Duke's
- 31:42usually pretty good about retooling.
- 31:44You know, what does Kentucky look like?
- 31:45Michigan State had a pretty good run, but same thing.
- 31:47They lost a couple of guys. So I mean, it that that's kind
- 31:50of the big thing is there's it's it's a lot of questions.
- 31:54And like you said, there's not that one definitive star in the
- 31:57men's side that you're like, man, this guy is gonna be, he's
- 32:00gonna own the league next year. For sure.
- 32:03And also by the way, so I'm looking up right now, Cooper
- 32:05flags revenue and iOS doesn't really say anything about how
- 32:08much Duke paid them, but we can kind of infer that it was some
- 32:12pretty some pretty solid money for a freshman and NIL deals
- 32:17between New Balance and Fanatics, it says Cooper flag is
- 32:20estimated around $28 million throughout the 2024-2025 season.
- 32:25So you look at his rookie contract, let's not even talk
- 32:28about his rookie contract, but just his annual AV throughout
- 32:31the first four years as a Dallas Maverick.
- 32:33You're looking at $13.8 million his rookie year, 20252026
- 32:38season, 14,000,014 and a half million in the second year,
- 32:4115,000,000 in his third and 19 million in his fourth year.
- 32:45Then he becomes a restricted free agent, not even
- 32:48unrestricted free agent, a restricted free agent.
- 32:49So that's when you know the the salary matches and they can
- 32:52match the contracts all happen. That's it's a whole different
- 32:54ball game, but you're looking at a double amount of rookie salary
- 32:59for Cooper flag if you would just stayed in college and you
- 33:01know, with New Balance and Fanatics and who whatever else
- 33:04comes with that, it definitely does, you know, interest me when
- 33:08we have these type of types of conversations because if you
- 33:11really want to build your brand, I think the best way to do it is
- 33:15through college hoops. You know, you're really trying
- 33:17to make a dynasty out over there at Duke and the only way you can
- 33:21really do that is just continuing to play with each
- 33:23other every single day. You hear Kevin Durant talk about
- 33:26like, hey, man, look, I don't care what country it is.
- 33:29I don't care how long you guys play together.
- 33:31Like we're Team USA and we're going to just, you know, batten
- 33:34down the hatches and we're going to take over.
- 33:36That's cool, but in college that's kind of the complete
- 33:39opposite. I feel like the longer guys
- 33:40really do get to play with each other, the more chemistry, the
- 33:43more time they really just start to really just grow and
- 33:46financially, I mean, it just makes a lot more sense for him
- 33:48to stay. So I I definitely do think
- 33:50Cooper flag may have jumped the gun a little bit on on joining
- 33:53the Dallas Mavericks. Do I feel some type of way
- 33:55because the Bulls could have had them?
- 33:57You know, we we hit tails instead of heads on a coin flip.
- 34:00I definitely do. But you know, nonetheless, man,
- 34:04I I definitely do think it's interesting how you know, guys,
- 34:07even though the NIL money is there and it's more than an NBA
- 34:11salary, you know, players still definitely want to still come
- 34:14into the league very young. And I think you know, guys like
- 34:17LeBron and Kobe Bryant kind of set that standard of like, hey,
- 34:21man, we want to start young. Luka Dodge.
- 34:23It's another one played overseas, a little different of
- 34:25a situation, but still nonetheless, like you're getting
- 34:28a lot of young players coming now.
- 34:30And I think for me, it would be really interesting to see what
- 34:34type of players, what type of rookie seasons they would have
- 34:37if they weren't 1819 years old. And really they were 2223 and
- 34:41they just came into their own throughout those four years.
- 34:44Because you get to grow in college, you get to have
- 34:46mistakes. Cooper flag can have a horrible
- 34:48performance and it's not going to mean anything if it's at
- 34:50Duke. But if it happens with the
- 34:52Dallas Mavericks after losing Luka Doncic, it's it's it's a
- 34:55very extreme case, but people are going to start freaking out.
- 34:57So that's just my opinion on it man, I would say.
- 35:01And and here's the other thing too that I that I noticed
- 35:04personally, even though funny enough by ratings, by numbers,
- 35:08by everything, football is king in the United States.
- 35:12Think about some of the biggest brands, They almost always come
- 35:15out of basketball. Look at Jordan because of the
- 35:18impact that he did in basketball.
- 35:20You know, look at Kobe because of the impact he's done in
- 35:22basketball. You know, Steph Curry.
- 35:23Now, I know LeBron James has his own shoe line, if I understand
- 35:26correctly, but what's really funny, I don't think it touches
- 35:30Steph's. Now again, I could be completely
- 35:32wrong, but I'll be honest. Like I've never heard somebody
- 35:34be like, Oh yeah, I need and I don't even know what his shoe is
- 35:37called so. I'm not I've worn both.
- 35:38I've I've hooped him both. I I think I think Steph Curry's
- 35:41shoes are the second most comfortable basketball shoe I've
- 35:45ever worn. Kyrie's are my first and the the
- 35:49one pair of bronze I had, I forgot what it was, but it had
- 35:52like a lion on the back with the crown.
- 35:54They were light blue and purple. I got them like a year ago,
- 35:58hated him, hated him like and you know me I'm not I'm not a
- 36:01brown hater. I love brown.
- 36:02I like hated the shoe was very tight, very constricting around
- 36:06the ankle kind of just I I saw one that just looked like my
- 36:10grandma's couch. You know what I mean like I just
- 36:12I didn't like it. I didn't like the design and and
- 36:15mind you, curry's the design ain't no better like Under
- 36:18Armour. I wish he was with Nike man, and
- 36:20I understand Nike fumble that bag, but you know what I mean?
- 36:23It's it's it's not a great looking shoe, but it's a
- 36:26comfortable looking shoe. So I, I definitely, I definitely
- 36:28hear you on that front. I will say real quick as we, as
- 36:32we wrap this up as an Under Armour guy, because I, I'll say
- 36:35growing up both in the 90s and then as, as the early 2000s
- 36:39rolled around, like like most everybody in my high school,
- 36:41they always had Nike stuff and whatnot.
- 36:43And again, I didn't grow up with a whole lot of money.
- 36:45Under Armour was nice because I was like, man, this is like the
- 36:47same quality, like same type for like half the price.
- 36:51I'm like, I'm riding with Under Armour now.
- 36:54They're now everybody, basically the same price, they just copy
- 36:56off of each other. But.
- 36:57That's how I was. Remember champion?
- 36:58Remember when nobody wore champion?
- 37:00You were weirder. I always wore champion.
- 37:02And now I see it's like the big thing.
- 37:04And I'm just like, even my dad. Shut up.
- 37:05Hey, shut up. My dad, man.
- 37:07He was rocking New Balance shoes to mow the lawn every single
- 37:09day, and we clowned him for it. But now it's like Jack Harlow
- 37:12wears them and it's cool again. So like, I don't know.
- 37:15Hey, that, that's the dad fit too.
- 37:16You got to get the, you got to get the white New Balances, a
- 37:19little bit of grass. At the green on the bottom.
- 37:22You got to get the white socks, you got to get the jorts and
- 37:25then the shirt with the with the with the beer Fanny pack and
- 37:29whatnot. That was my dad, bro, That was
- 37:31my dad. Hey, I love it.
- 37:33Hey, Joy, popping in. Hi, Joy, I haven't seen you for
- 37:36a while. Go Tigers.
- 37:38Exactly right. Hey, I was watching the media
- 37:40day, Brian Kelly, as as much as people don't like Brian Kelly,
- 37:45it was kind of cool. He came up to the podium and
- 37:46they were playing like the the LSU fight song and whatnot.
- 37:49And he's sitting up there and they're kind of waiting.
- 37:52He's like, I'm not going until that song stops and that song
- 37:55stops when it's finished. I was like, that's what I'm
- 37:57talking about, Brian, go tights, go tights, go tights.
- 38:01But but we do we do have a couple more topics real quick,
- 38:06just kind of just kind of in the show, a little bit of fun light.
- 38:08Note what not because MM brought these up and and I I do kind of
- 38:12agree. It is fun.
- 38:13So the cool thing, cool and bad thing about the NFL and teams
- 38:17really all throughout any sports is you'll always see, you know,
- 38:21old faces in new places with, you know, players going to new
- 38:25teams. Obviously Aaron Rodgers went to
- 38:27the Steelers. Justin Fields is now with The
- 38:29Jets, all of these different crazy moves, you know, Mike, and
- 38:34it doesn't even have to be current.
- 38:35It could be all time. You know, who was a player that
- 38:38you saw just in a different jersey and you're like, man, no,
- 38:40that does it. Just it don't look right.
- 38:42Like don't don't worry that jersey, man.
- 38:44Just don't. Don't do it.
- 38:46Yeah, for sure. You know, I thought all night
- 38:47about it because I knew we were going to do this topic.
- 38:50Recency bias is Justin Fields, man.
- 38:52Like you, you, you felt like he was going to be the guy when he
- 38:55was in college, whether he was going to be a bear or not.
- 38:57Like I was like, Justin Fields is going to be one of those
- 38:59guys. So the fact that he ended up in
- 39:01a pairs uniform, you know how ecstatic I was about that.
- 39:03So it really did hurt to see him rocking the Pittsburgh black and
- 39:07gold. But you know, man, the one that
- 39:10really just hits home and this is just a Chicago thing in
- 39:12general. That doesn't just have to be
- 39:14Football League. We can talk about Patrick Kane
- 39:16in a Red Wings jersey. We can talk about Derrick Rose
- 39:18in a Knicks uniform. But for me, man, and it doesn't
- 39:22matter which one it was, whether it was Atlanta, whether it was
- 39:25the Ravens or or Seattle, Devin Hester not wearing a Chicago
- 39:30Bears uniform from start to finish definitely did hurt.
- 39:33Now he's in the hall and obviously he's got that Chicago
- 39:36Bears look for his statue at which I love.
- 39:40But you know, Devin Hester not being able to break the all time
- 39:43record with the Chicago Bears, I believe he broke it with the
- 39:45Atlanta Falcons, if I'm not mistaken.
- 39:47Sucked, man. It sucked because it didn't make
- 39:49any sense and it was just something that I feel like
- 39:52should have been a bear for life.
- 39:54Never seen in another uniform. But who's yours, man?
- 39:59So I got a couple for the. Well, actually, I got three.
- 40:03OK, three. Yeah, I'm a little extra.
- 40:05I'm gonna do three. That's perfectly.
- 40:06Good, I love these talks. One of them, honestly, he never
- 40:10even like I don't think there's any pictures of him that exist
- 40:13in it because honestly, I don't think I don't think he ever wore
- 40:17it. So I don't know if he truly
- 40:18counts, but technically Brian Urlacher did sign a one day
- 40:22contract and retired with the Packers, which I'm like.
- 40:26Yeah, that was just like a fuck. You it was it was but it's also
- 40:30one of those like I know you didn't wear it, but but you're
- 40:34you're like you're like you're the most recent like Papa bear
- 40:37like you are the face of the Chicago Bears like when when you
- 40:41see that you. Got the jersey right behind me.
- 40:44Right, right above you. The next one.
- 40:47He, he wasn't really a bear for long.
- 40:50So if you don't want me to include him, I can take him out.
- 40:53I remember when Greg Olson got traded to Carolina, big deal.
- 40:56I was like, and then you like see his whole career, like how
- 40:59great he was. I'm like, why?
- 41:01Why did y'all do that? Like why, why did you trade
- 41:03Greg? Another one?
- 41:04You could probably tie in with that Matt Forte and that jets
- 41:08me. For him.
- 41:09Not the same. I was at his last game as a
- 41:12bear. Is that I think I've told you
- 41:13that before, right? I don't think I have.
- 41:15It was Megatron's last game and and Forte's last as a bear is
- 41:18pretty cool. But A1 that I, you know, roles
- 41:22are reversed a little bit. I kind of wanted to throw this
- 41:25one to you, who is someone that kind of was a rival to the Bears
- 41:28that joined the Bears that you were really excited about, like
- 41:30Jared Allen wearing a Chicago Bears uniform to me and my mom
- 41:34loved Jared Allen. So like it was like really cool.
- 41:36And he was like, I'm going to ride off into the sunset after
- 41:39this season. I was like that he did that he
- 41:41did. He did a rival.
- 41:47I don't know if I'd really consider him a rival.
- 41:50And it it kind of ties back in with the first one.
- 41:53Like obviously like Julius Peppers was a Panther, like he
- 41:56was drafted with the Panthers. He ended his career with the
- 41:58Panthers. But I mean, he was nasty on the
- 42:01Bears for a hot minute. And and just like Brian.
- 42:06He's like he. He went straight to Green Bay.
- 42:08He went. Straight to Green Bay.
- 42:09Didn't get it. That one pissed me off too.
- 42:11That was like an honorable mention.
- 42:12But like I just whatever Peps was Pep.
- 42:15It was really about Briggs. It was really about her locker
- 42:17for me. Peps was just kind of like
- 42:18there, like you said, like I think of him as a as a Panther
- 42:21before I think of him as a Chicago Bear.
- 42:23Yeah, but he, but I will say, you know, he was with the
- 42:26Panthers for a while, then he was with the Bears for a hot
- 42:28minute. He was still solid.
- 42:29Yeah, very solid. I will say for Indy wise hurt a
- 42:33lot of Colts fans. When old Peyton went to Denver,
- 42:37that hurt a lot of Colts fans. That that one that would hurt a
- 42:40lot of people. Didn't hurt me, didn't hurt me,
- 42:43but it hurt a lot of Colts fans. Though obviously Little Tone was
- 42:46a bear and a cowboy fan at the time.
- 42:48He could, he could give a shit like.
- 42:50I was like whatever by Peyton, but but one last topic, buddy,
- 42:54because I know you wanted to talk about it because because I
- 42:57do think it's worth mentioning. So obviously Caleb Williams back
- 43:00in the news media being trolled because there's a picture of
- 43:03him. You know, he's looking clean.
- 43:05He's got he's got like the flower.
- 43:07These guys nails painted this. I'm colorblind, so to me they
- 43:11look like a light blue. If I'm wrong, you know, correct
- 43:13me. Light blue, OK, but but people
- 43:16are trolling him because his nails are blue and whatnot.
- 43:18And obviously they've trolled Caleb for that all throughout
- 43:21college, all throughout the pros and what not.
- 43:24They talk about if he's fruity, zesty, you know, whatever the
- 43:26case may be. So Mike, I'm a I'm a turn the
- 43:29mic over to you as far as your your thoughts on them, them
- 43:33trolling and clowning Caleb. Yeah, look, man, I kind of just
- 43:37wanted to address it like one time this season because I'm not
- 43:39going to be talking about it all year.
- 43:41Didn't talk about it last year. I dig it.
- 43:43I think it, I think it fucks. I think it's cool, man.
- 43:47I personally don't paint my nails.
- 43:48Irish, Italian kid, you know, it's just like just not, just
- 43:51not, that's not the way we do things.
- 43:53But I like, I respect it, you know what I mean?
- 43:55Because like what bothers me the most man, is seeing some pretty
- 43:58insanely inappropriate comments about Caleb Williams on social
- 44:01media from grown men who praised the 90s.
- 44:04But then a guy like Dennis Rodman who 3 peated with the 90s
- 44:07bulls and you know, was with Madonna and was with all these,
- 44:11you know, Carmen Electra and they all these incredible women
- 44:14throughout history. And you know, Dennis, Dennis did
- 44:17the same thing. Dennis wore dresses.
- 44:19I remember Dennis wearing a wedding dress.
- 44:20I remember Dennis dying his hair, painting his fingernails.
- 44:23He's got the giant hoops in his nose, he's got the tattoos,
- 44:25everything. And people love Dennis Rodman
- 44:27and, and you got all these guys praise in the 90s, but then
- 44:31completely forget about the quarterbacks that came before
- 44:33us. Like, you know, Jim McMahon used
- 44:35the Punky QB showed his ass to a helicopter one time when they
- 44:38when they were trying to find out if he was going to play that
- 44:40week. I think he had a bruise on his
- 44:42butt or, or around his butt. So he just whipped out his butt
- 44:45during practice and the news helicopter saw it.
- 44:47Like, I think we're very quick to forget, Like there's so many
- 44:50people in history who went this way.
- 44:53I mean, you look at the band Kiss.
- 44:54They wore makeup, but I bet you kiss hooked up with 100 times
- 44:59more girls than the average American man will ever.
- 45:02So it's it's kind of just weird to me when a grown man is
- 45:06questioning the way another man dresses or looks.
- 45:09It's kind of weird to me. I don't know, it's just me Tone.
- 45:11I don't know how you feel about it.
- 45:13I I could care less what he wears.
- 45:15I'm going to be honest, for me it's one of those as long as
- 45:18you, you are free to do whatever you want to do.
- 45:22As long as you don't infringe or stop somebody else from doing
- 45:26what they want to do, I don't really care what you do.
- 45:29Now, if you doing something inappropriate, if you doing
- 45:31something either age wise that's illegal or you're doing
- 45:35something that is making other people, I don't want to say
- 45:38uncomfortable because I'm be honest, I feel like people get
- 45:40uncomfortable about all sorts of ridiculous shenanigans.
- 45:44If you're doing something that's physically harming someone or,
- 45:48you know, if you're saying something that is truly
- 45:50derogatory, that's a problem. Because I mean, it's it's 2025.
- 45:54Let people be who they want to be again, as long as they're, as
- 45:58long as they're respectful, as long as they're living their
- 46:00life. It ain't bothering you.
- 46:02It ain't. Bothering you, then don't don't
- 46:04worry about it. Let them let them be them.
- 46:06Let them live their lives and whatnot.
- 46:08So I mean if those. Orange painted nails are holding
- 46:11up the Lombardi Trophy in the next three years.
- 46:13Tone, do you think? They're gonna be singing the
- 46:15praises. I bet those fave people paint
- 46:17their nails too. That's what I'm saying.
- 46:19I'll tell you this, if we win a Super Bowl with Caleb Williams,
- 46:21I will go to the parade with orange and blue painted
- 46:24fingernails, bro, I don't care. Like that's fun, bro.
- 46:27Like that's, that's a part of like who he is.
- 46:29And I think it's super cool, man.
- 46:31And like, I don't know, man. I just think it's weird when a
- 46:33grown man cares what another grown man's wearing or doing.
- 46:35Like you said, man, Hey, when he snaps the ball, as long as those
- 46:39fingers can still grip that ball and sling that perfect spiral, I
- 46:43don't care, brother. I don't care.
- 46:45Like, you know, if if it hits the fingernail and then the ball
- 46:49like fumbles like and OK, then we can have a whole conversation
- 46:53a different day. But.
- 46:55Where we have a little Brady, you know, deflating from the
- 46:57nails or whatnot. Oh, I wouldn't.
- 46:59I wouldn't mind. I wouldn't mind.
- 47:01But but we'll we'll end the we'll end the show on that.
- 47:04But I appreciate you coming all with me buddy and talking about
- 47:06this. We'll we'll be back next week
- 47:08for hopefully a little bit more. Maybe there's a little bit more
- 47:10offseason drama. We'll find out.
- 47:12But everybody have a good night. Everybody have a good week and
- 47:14we will see you all next time. Ladies and gentlemen, thank you
- 47:19for tuning in to military.
