- 0:34So now let's jump in.
- 0:40Welcome back.
- 0:41I have my friend Ralph Daab from Krn Cologne in Germany on today.
- 0:48He's a publisher and has made his living his own way in many countries in the world
- 0:57and has come to a point where the material has sort of given way to the spiritual.
- 1:04And he's a man who's very much explored how as a westerner you can find your way
- 1:11to the shamanic, to the altered states of consciousness that open the window
- 1:16to the more indigenous way of looking at things while still being in the West.
- 1:21And I think that that's a very useful thing for many of us because
- 1:24as those of you listeners who know my background, spending a
- 1:28lot of time, for example, in the.
- 1:30Kalahari in Africa with hunting and gathering peoples down there, it can be
- 1:36almost misleading to think, oh, well, that kind of life, that deeply spiritual life,
- 1:44that very connected life, that's something different that happens down there in those
- 1:47other places with people who haven't sort of gone through the Judeo-Christian thing
- 1:51that we've all gone through, et cetera.
- 1:53I can't really do that because I'm up here in the western economy and, you
- 1:57know, stuck in that rap race and so on.
- 1:59Of course, we all know that's not really true, but I think it's
- 2:03really good to draw our attention sometimes to how people doing it right
- 2:07here, right now in our culture and particularly, you know, how is that.
- 2:12Is that is, you know, can that be related to business?
- 2:15Can that be related to how do you make a living when you, when you decide, okay,
- 2:20you know, I, I want to begin to explore these other ways of looking at the world,
- 2:23but I still have to kind of keep one foot pretty firmly in the, in the here
- 2:28and now and the economy and all of that.
- 2:30Now do I dance that dance?
- 2:31And I think somebody like Ralph has quite a lot of insights for us that way.
- 2:36So I thought I'd have him on the show for live free, ride free.
- 2:38'cause he's a man who definitely does live free and ride free
- 2:41and we can learn from him.
- 2:42So Ralph, thank you for coming on the show.
- 2:44Yeah.
- 2:45Hi Ruper.
- 2:45Thank you for having me.
- 2:47It's a great pleasure to be on the shower.
- 2:50So do you want to tell listeners a little bit about how we met?
- 2:54Because I think those circumstances.
- 2:58Are quite helpful to drawing people's attention to sort of
- 3:01always keep your eyes open.
- 3:03You never quite know who's around the next corner type thing.
- 3:07You wanna have a right.
- 3:08Ralf Daab: Yeah, it was, it is a great story.
- 3:09I always tell people I was living in, back then, it was like two years
- 3:14ago in Germany where we live now.
- 3:16Yeah.
- 3:16We born in Germany.
- 3:18So I was walking the dock, you know, up from the hill and then you know,
- 3:21passed by a, a horse place basically.
- 3:24And I was talking to Leon, your wife first, and then the dogs started playing.
- 3:29And then, so we started talking and so, oh, where are you from?
- 3:32What are you doing?
- 3:33And then I said like, you know, and then Leanna said, well, that
- 3:37you guys lived in, in the US in Texas, and then you moved back here.
- 3:41And I said, I, I lived in New York for some years and I also.
- 3:45Was in Texas many times.
- 3:46And then, you know, I'm a publisher.
- 3:48And I'm publisher.
- 3:49And then he said, oh, my husband Rupert, he's also like, he, he's an author.
- 3:53He published books, New York Times bestseller books.
- 3:55So, and then you walked up and then we met and we just connected right away, you
- 4:00know, and then we started talking and, you know, things like it was incredible
- 4:04because yeah, it was, it's, it's no
- 4:06Rupert Isaacson: coincidence.
- 4:07It was like well, what was interesting to me about that.
- 4:10First meeting and you gotta just picture listeners, you know, I'm picking poo.
- 4:15That's what we always do every morning.
- 4:17Yeah.
- 4:17Right.
- 4:17With the horses and, but people walk by, there's a public footpath that
- 4:20goes, you know, past the, the, the sort of main area where the horses are.
- 4:24'cause they all live outside and you know, people walk their dogs.
- 4:27You sometimes say hi, whatever.
- 4:29But relatively few people actually stop and say hi.
- 4:32You know, it's, it's Germany after.
- 4:35So it's like, first thing is, well that's kind of unusual.
- 4:37Look, here's a bloke who's actually kind of cheerful and, you know, friendly.
- 4:42And then but very quickly the conversation went to, well, you know, what do you do?
- 4:47Okay, I'm publisher, I'm a writer.
- 4:49Interesting, interesting.
- 4:50Similar worlds.
- 4:52And then of course I told you a little bit about what I publish books on.
- 4:57And then you say, oh, that's interesting because, you know,
- 4:59I do these journeys, right?
- 5:01And I said, oh, what kind of journeys?
- 5:04And you said, well, like MDMA.
- 5:06Right.
- 5:07And what was interesting to me about that was a lot of my friends and
- 5:13contemporaries, particularly in the USA in the last, I'd say five years, have
- 5:19begun to experiment with looking at altered states of consciousness through
- 5:25journeys with MDMA, which some people call ecstasy, but it's not the ecstasy,
- 5:29of course, that you buy in a nightclub.
- 5:31It's the pure form that used to be prescribed way back in the day by
- 5:36psychologists and psychiatrists who warring married couples because it
- 5:41made them listen to each other nicely.
- 5:43Brings out the sort of compassion in people and si psilocybin,
- 5:47which is of course mushrooms.
- 5:49And this has been a growing field among.
- 5:54I think many people in the kind of middle class of the west over the last
- 6:01decade or so, because I think there has been this growing awareness that
- 6:06the material life needs to be balanced with the spiritual, but the church no
- 6:11longer offers that never really did.
- 6:13I mean, mystic Christianity can, but not the church, not witch
- 6:17burning and Spanish inquisition.
- 6:19And so where to look, where to look.
- 6:22And so of course people began to look naturally to the Eastern philosophies
- 6:27because with the British Empire, that kind of really opened up that
- 6:31route from India through England and then out to the rest of the West.
- 6:35And that sort of, those meditations and Buddhism and Hinduism and stuff like that
- 6:41began to have a big influence on Western society, but it was still perceived
- 6:47as very much a thing from outside.
- 6:48I think from over there.
- 6:50People like me, of course, going down and spending time with a lot of
- 6:53indigenous folk bringing that back.
- 6:55But again, that's still being, well, that's something other,
- 6:57that's something over there.
- 6:58That's not us.
- 6:59That's not where we are.
- 7:00How do we, and so I think it's very logical that people like you, Ralph
- 7:05and other friends of mine, began to look to the use of psychotropics.
- 7:10In the same way that of course people are undergoing healing ceremonies in,
- 7:16you know, the Amazon or areas where, or Siberia, areas where native America,
- 7:22where psychotropic plants grow and have always been used for healing.
- 7:29It's a very logical thing and I think there's a reach back even through
- 7:32the European past there, because certainly in the pre-Christian
- 7:37era, people used fly aic mushroom.
- 7:40They used psilocybin, what we would call magic mushrooms and ver you
- 7:44know, datura nightshade certain things with hemlock or to achieve altered
- 7:49state of consciousness in order to you know, connect with the divine.
- 7:52And that of course was rooted out of our culture by the church.
- 7:56So there you are, and we're having that conversation and I'm thinking, well, this
- 8:01is sort of interesting on the Shamanic.
- 8:03And then when I began to do this podcast, I thought, well, actually
- 8:07Ralph would be a very good guy to get on this show because he is really
- 8:10an entrepreneur and you run your own publishing stuff, but you've also, you
- 8:15know, helped larger publishing companies.
- 8:17And that's something, but you, you also now thread this very spiritual path.
- 8:22That's Ry ride free.
- 8:23Sort of in a nutshell, would you take us through your journey a little bit,
- 8:29where you began as a boy in corn growing up, sort of, you know, in the seventies
- 8:36and eighties in that, you know, post-war booming economy, having fun, it takes
- 8:42you off to other parts of the world, just and then how you get into publishing.
- 8:46Just get, take us through that early stage in your life, how, how
- 8:49you get going on your live free, ride free sort of initial, yeah.
- 8:53Okay.
- 8:53Yeah,
- 8:54Ralf Daab: I
- 8:54Rupert Isaacson: did
- 8:54Ralf Daab: that.
- 8:55So I grew up in Cologne and
- 8:56Rupert Isaacson: you know, I was which is a bit of a party town, right?
- 8:59It's a
- 8:59Ralf Daab: fun town.
- 8:59Well, it's a carnival, you know, the people are very open-minded and friendly.
- 9:03You know, my, my parents, my mother had a, a restaurant, you know, but a lot
- 9:07of people always came like every day.
- 9:09So it was always, yeah, I grew up in like a, in yeah, a good, environment, I would
- 9:14say, you know, so, and I played soccer, football, you know, when I was young.
- 9:17And I was pretty good.
- 9:18So I played for the s fone in the junior.
- 9:21What is, just tell us, oh, that's, SCON is one of the best
- 9:24club football club in the world.
- 9:26We just came up, you went up to, did you play Football Con?
- 9:30Rupert Isaacson: Yeah, right.
- 9:30But in the junior team, you know, so for some years
- 9:33Ralf Daab: and that was a
- 9:34Rupert Isaacson: great time.
- 9:34That's something that's like playing for Arsenal or, or Tottenham.
- 9:36Yeah, yeah,
- 9:36Ralf Daab: yeah, exactly.
- 9:37Exactly.
- 9:38Yeah.
- 9:38So that was a great time when it was 14 years old, 15 years, 16,
- 9:41you know, so playing, like we, we played tournaments in, in, in Paris,
- 9:46in, in Brussels, in, in Zurich or, you know, so it was always good.
- 9:49Like I had go to the director of the school and said like, I have to go for,
- 9:54you know, a week for tournament, whatever.
- 9:56So it was a good time.
- 9:57I was and then I was, you know, I was obviously going to school and then I
- 10:01started university and but I knew right away from be, it's not really what I.
- 10:06Whatever you want to do.
- 10:07Like, so I would start, like my mom, I also did back then, so I would start like
- 10:12a friend, he was importing like t-shirts from California, like big Wednesdays.
- 10:16So I was like, oh, they cool t-shirts, exert shirts, you know, I would start
- 10:19selling them out of the car, you know, in the school and so and so on.
- 10:23And then other things like a hot tuna from Australia, like a
- 10:26brand, like really cool brand.
- 10:28So, and I said, let's open up a store.
- 10:30Let's, so like when I was 22, I opened my first fashion store in Cologne.
- 10:35And then you know, coincidence, somebody walked in and said like, yeah,
- 10:38I need like, you know, 20 jackets.
- 10:41And it turned out, turns out that he was from EMI, Electrola from the record
- 10:44company, and it was for Tina Turner's concert like tour, you know, so it was got
- 10:49into the merchandise business for that.
- 10:52So I was always like doing things, you know, like, and then a friend of mine,
- 10:56I was in New York, first time in 1991.
- 10:59What sent you to New York?
- 11:01Just pleasure.
- 11:01It was just Okay.
- 11:02It was before business.
- 11:04Yeah.
- 11:04Before business was like with a friend that went to New York for
- 11:07the first time and another friend, he was also in New York and he was
- 11:10working for hin for the publisher.
- 11:13Tian
- 11:13Rupert Isaacson: is a very famous German publishing house.
- 11:15Right.
- 11:15Basic Cologne.
- 11:16But now the world, you know, biggest art book publisher in the world.
- 11:20Yeah.
- 11:20You've, you, you've seen them listeners, even if you don't know them, they're
- 11:23these amazing German art and fashion.
- 11:27Right.
- 11:27Photographic.
- 11:28They have
- 11:28Ralf Daab: stores all over.
- 11:29Yeah, the world basically.
- 11:30So back then in the nineties, and then, then, then he said like, ah, you know,
- 11:34we are looking for somebody who could do like sales and marketing in the us.
- 11:37Are you interested?
- 11:37And I said, well, yes, of course.
- 11:39You know.
- 11:40So I started working for Tchen as a sales manager for the US and like first year,
- 11:44two years traveling from Cologne to the US like, you know, visiting, like, I
- 11:48don't know, first trip was 20 cities in like four weeks, you know, every day.
- 11:52Another city.
- 11:52So it was a great time.
- 11:55And then I moved to New York in 1995, you know, and moved there.
- 11:59It was just for, for a year.
- 12:01And then I stayed there total of like almost six years.
- 12:04So setting up the office there and then all sales and
- 12:07marketing, that was a great time.
- 12:08It was like my early thirties.
- 12:10So, yeah.
- 12:11So it was, that's how I got into publishing, international publishing also.
- 12:16And then I moved back and my son Lucas was born in New York.
- 12:20And then, we decided to go back to Cologne, and then I started my, of working
- 12:24for another publisher for three years.
- 12:26You know, I was responsible for setting up a program, so I developed
- 12:29the whole, the book program and international distribution.
- 12:34So, and then I decided to start my own publishing house in 2003.
- 12:40And yeah, so then we traveled a lot, you know, all over the place, like Asia
- 12:45lots then us a lot, of course Europe.
- 12:48And yeah, so that was I was always in, in things like, you know, what can you do?
- 12:54Like, develop new things.
- 12:55I have so many ideas and, and, and, so, and then I, you know,
- 12:59got to a point where publishing in general was, became difficult.
- 13:03Had problems with the banks, the investors and the whole thing.
- 13:06And then, so at the end I had to close the company, basically file for
- 13:10chapter 11, which is like insolvency.
- 13:13And yeah, it was a really tough time.
- 13:15And then the marriage ended I was kinda lost, you know, that
- 13:19was like 2000, where were we now?
- 13:21Like, 64, 15, 16 round then, so about eight, nine years ago.
- 13:27And so I was kind of lost and I said like, what can you do?
- 13:29Like my life, you know, so, and I, yeah, I did like a photo exhibition, for example.
- 13:38I had took some photos.
- 13:39I did like an exhibition, and then I, I, I decided like, oh,
- 13:42let's go back into publishing.
- 13:44And so I started to to create books again.
- 13:47But at the same time, I was always like looking for new things.
- 13:51But so I, I got into the meditation thing, so I was reading books, listening
- 13:57to podcasts about meditation or why, why did you get into meditation?
- 14:01Studying?
- 14:01Yeah, because, yeah, because I was like kind of felt like I, I needed to do
- 14:05something else, you know, like going out of like, like, you know, this business
- 14:10world that the business thing or the life of like, you know, just traveling around
- 14:15and being like stressed and everything.
- 14:16So, and then I started also doing sports again, and also mindfulness things.
- 14:23You know, had you always
- 14:24Rupert Isaacson: kind of in the back of your mind thought,
- 14:25or that meditation thing?
- 14:27I kind of want to get into that, but I'll, I'll do that later, you know, or
- 14:32was it more sudden thing a more new thing?
- 14:34No, no, it was always there, kind of, you know,
- 14:36Ralf Daab: like, you know, but it, it wasn't like, like every day, but I felt
- 14:40like, you know, I was at a point where I was, you know, like really lost and it's
- 14:45the only thing I could, could help me.
- 14:46Like, I could only help myself, you know?
- 14:48So, and I and it was good.
- 14:50So I, you know, did a love of sports again running and so I felt a little better.
- 14:55And and then it got to a point, like I was, you know, I talked to a friend
- 14:58and then he told me about a seminar he went to, and he said like it was
- 15:02the best thing he did in his life.
- 15:04And then he told me everything about it.
- 15:06And then.
- 15:07I said, yeah, I wanna do this.
- 15:08And that's how I got into my first journey of the MD May.
- 15:13Yeah, that was, I
- 15:15Rupert Isaacson: presume because you'd been living in New York, you know, you'd
- 15:18been in fashion, you'd been in sport, you'd been in publishing, recreational
- 15:22drug use must have been something with which you were quite familiar.
- 15:26I mean, I know I said No, not really.
- 15:28No, no,
- 15:28Ralf Daab: no, no.
- 15:29Not really.
- 15:29Rupert Isaacson: No.
- 15:30No.
- 15:31So when, okay, because I remember for example, when I was in my
- 15:38earliest twenties this is back like 8,000 years ago I think before the
- 15:43invention of the wheel I tried MDMA, at that point, it was still very pure.
- 15:51It was before techno, before the raves, before all of that took off.
- 15:55And so before it became a mass industry, that people then began to adulterate
- 15:59it with speed and, you know, awful.
- 16:01And so I, I tried it a few times in those early years and then very quickly gave
- 16:07it up because it, it very quickly became adulterated with all sorts of stuff.
- 16:11And you couldn't, at least at that stage in my life, access that pure form anymore.
- 16:17But I do remember breaking up with my first girlfriend.
- 16:22Basically she was dumping me.
- 16:24While we both were on MDMA, which of course, as many listeners
- 16:29may know, MDMA used to be prescribed by marriage counselors.
- 16:36Before it was made illegal because it helped people to listen to
- 16:40each other really compassionately and to tell the truth.
- 16:43Right.
- 16:43And so we broke up, you know, so kindly with each other, even
- 16:48though my heart was broken.
- 16:50And we remained friends, we're friends to this day.
- 16:52It's very interesting.
- 16:53So, you know, when you told me about you doing these MDM majors,
- 16:59I immediately made that assumption.
- 17:00Oh, well he must have had, you know, some sort of previous history with
- 17:04this, but you said No, not at all.
- 17:05So this being something quite new for you, right.
- 17:10What made you think Yeah.
- 17:11Okay.
- 17:11Well, that, that might be something then,
- 17:14Ralf Daab: because a friend told me that what, what, you know, what he
- 17:16experienced and told me that it's saved, that it's, you know, you know.
- 17:22So I said like, okay, because I was really not really into drugs, you know, I had
- 17:26joined, so, you know, of course then an alcohol, you know, wine and, and so on,
- 17:30but not, not no drugs, you know, I was not never, I always said like, you know,
- 17:34I can be fun without drugs, you know?
- 17:36Mm-hmm.
- 17:36So, but in this case I was like looking into this more the, as this therapy
- 17:42than just like having fun with drugs or so, you know, and trusting my
- 17:46friend and said like, oh, let's try it.
- 17:48And then and it was tell everybody it was the best thing
- 17:50I did in my life, you know, so
- 17:53Rupert Isaacson: well.
- 17:54Right.
- 17:54You know, often you know, when people say, for example, go down to the
- 17:57Amazon looking for healing, they'll often find themselves with a ero, you
- 18:02know, a, a healer doing ayahuasca.
- 18:04Yeah.
- 18:04Which of course is a very, very strong hallucinogen.
- 18:06But many people will report I, yes.
- 18:09What I needed was a kind of radical way to break through an out of the worldview
- 18:18that has been to some I've been stuck in.
- 18:22And I needed kind of a radical change of environment, both physically
- 18:26and mentally, emotionally, in order to get this other perspective.
- 18:30Otherwise, I, I sort of couldn't break out of the, the rut that I was in.
- 18:35Do you feel that that's what happened to you?
- 18:38Yeah.
- 18:40Ralf Daab: Yeah, exactly.
- 18:40But it's also like after like the first time, it's like, it's like four years ago.
- 18:45So, and it's a whole process, you know, I realized, you know, after four years I did
- 18:48like many times different ways, you know, different locations, you know, like I
- 18:52ended up like, you know, some places and.
- 18:55And also tried other things, you know, with mushrooms and, and so on.
- 18:59And now after four years, I realize it's, it's not just the one, one journey,
- 19:05you know, or, you know, even the, the weekend or so, it's a whole process.
- 19:09It's like it changed.
- 19:11That transformation is going on like forever, you know?
- 19:13So it's like, but you, the thing is, like, you, you, I learned to
- 19:19let things go, you know, like to now during these journeys, to, to look
- 19:24at things, to, to have sometimes the same feeling again about things.
- 19:28Even when I was a child, I, I could look at this, say,
- 19:31oh yeah, that was not so bad.
- 19:32Or that was so, and, and, and, and let go.
- 19:35And, and now I realize that, that it's just part, it's just one part of it.
- 19:41You know?
- 19:41It's not like you do one journey MDMA or whatever it is, you know,
- 19:44like, and, oh, you're healed now.
- 19:46Oh, you changed my life now.
- 19:47No, no, it's like.
- 19:49To change your life or, you know, to go to, through a real transformation.
- 19:54It's, it's, it's takes weeks and years and, and, and goes on, you know, like, no
- 19:58Rupert Isaacson: doubt.
- 19:58But you need that initial experience.
- 20:00Initial experience to sort of
- 20:02Ralf Daab: help leapfrog into that.
- 20:03Yes, exactly.
- 20:05And the initial experience is like to, to to, to become like
- 20:10in different consciousness, you know, different perspectives.
- 20:13And this is what I never had experienced before without that
- 20:18drug, you know, without MDMA or without mushrooms, whatever.
- 20:22But MDA is more like for me at least, it was like to, to see
- 20:26things from a different perspective.
- 20:29Yeah.
- 20:29Every ev every time like really clear.
- 20:32It's not like you're a, you're like sleeping or, so I was always
- 20:36clear and I was, I've experienced stories, really stories.
- 20:40I was in those stories in like 500 years ago in Persia.
- 20:44I was in, in the universe.
- 20:45I was an astronaut.
- 20:46I was, and my soul was up there in, in the Big bang or whatever it is,
- 20:51you know, like, and I said like, what?
- 20:52It was such great stories and experiences and that changed my view of myself and
- 21:01my surrounding my people around me.
- 21:03So it's like all it is, it's like a kind of heart opener.
- 21:06And then when you go that path like I did you'll see that, that your life change.
- 21:15But it's like not, I.
- 21:17You know, if you, you stay in your environment, if you stay
- 21:20in your structure, you, you don't change really a lot.
- 21:24So you have to let go.
- 21:25And you have to realize, and you have to say, okay, if I, if a relationship
- 21:29ends now, yeah, maybe it has to end now because without ending the
- 21:34end of the relationship, you can cannot experience something new or
- 21:38you move to a new place, you know, and it's all part of the journey.
- 21:42And that's, that's it all started four years ago with the MDMA and I,
- 21:46I did many, many trips, many and I still do it's kind of like sometimes
- 21:51I feel I don't need it anymore.
- 21:53'cause it's like what your neuroscience would say, tell you, it is like the
- 21:57neuro, they can adjust you know, things.
- 21:59And then you, you can get the same feeling or you can, I can change my perspective
- 22:03now without taking anything because my neuron, they, they experience, they can,
- 22:09they can, they can be in that same state.
- 22:11So, and yeah, so for me it was like, it's a, it's a game changer.
- 22:17Rupert Isaacson: It's, it's a life changer.
- 22:18And in those early days when you were first taking these journeys, and I'm
- 22:22gonna ask you to describe, you know, some of the journeys that stand out the most
- 22:28and the insights you got from them, but in those early days when you were first
- 22:31beginning with it, did you find it very difficult then to reintegrate yourself
- 22:34back into, if you like, ordinary life, making a living business, picking up the
- 22:39phone to people, striking deals, whatever?
- 22:41Or did you actually find that?
- 22:43No, it was actually much more of an effortless flow.
- 22:47The first journeys
- 22:48Ralf Daab: I, I remember was like, I, I was telling everybody now how great
- 22:51it is, you know, it was like friends and family, and people are like, some
- 22:55people on the street maybe say like, I, you know, this is so fantastic.
- 22:59Everybody should do it, and everybody has to like, go on
- 23:01trips and it's change everything.
- 23:04So then I realized you, you cannot talk to everybody about it.
- 23:07You know, some people said, Hey, he's crazy, what is he doing?
- 23:09And and I said like, yeah, okay you shouldn't talk to everybody about it.
- 23:13Just to people who are really interested.
- 23:15And I said, like, you know, you figure out, you know, who's
- 23:17really interested and who's not.
- 23:20But yeah.
- 23:20And then I got to the point and said like, okay, what I'm doing
- 23:23now if I continue this journey is I realize myself that I'm changing Now.
- 23:28I, you know, I, I, I talk differently.
- 23:31I feel differently.
- 23:32So if I, if I want to stay in my old world, I have to stop
- 23:36now because it doesn't work.
- 23:39Or I, I say, okay.
- 23:42That's my new path.
- 23:44I go that path no matter what.
- 23:48And I do, and I did, and I still do.
- 23:51And then you realize that you don't have to talk about anymore.
- 23:54It just comes.
- 23:55People just come or they don't, you know?
- 23:58And, and the things change.
- 24:01And also in terms of business, it opened up new paths as well.
- 24:07So I'm doing, I'm, my conversations now with, with architects or interior
- 24:12designers is different now and, and the business is growing actually.
- 24:15But those are the books you're doing now, right?
- 24:16The, your higher series,
- 24:18Rupert Isaacson: it's about architecture.
- 24:19You'll do the
- 24:19Ralf Daab: architecture and interior books and the business
- 24:22actually growing like this year.
- 24:24And it's like, it's amazing.
- 24:25You know, it's like the more I open up, the more people I attract to, to publish
- 24:30with me, to publish their work with me.
- 24:32Plus I've written my own book.
- 24:35About the stories.
- 24:37A little book I published myself under my new labor high on living came out like in
- 24:42February and then it sounded quite good.
- 24:44And tell us about the book.
- 24:45What is it?
- 24:45What's it called?
- 24:46Yeah, I wrote the stories like the stories I experienced on this
- 24:49journeys, you know, I wrote them down.
- 24:51This is like 32 episodes in the book.
- 24:53They're short episodes, you know, so, and it's, yeah, you could read
- 24:57it and get really good responses from people say, okay, this is really cool.
- 25:01I could see myself in this same story, you know, like up in the universe or.
- 25:07I journey to myself in my own self, in my own nothing.
- 25:11You know, when you on your own atom, there's nothing there.
- 25:14But then I experienced the most energy ever I experienced.
- 25:19So, and it opened up everything and started to love myself.
- 25:23Self-love is basically, I experienced on one of the journeys, I was myself
- 25:27saying, wow, this is, this is love.
- 25:29This is, I didn't know what love is before love.
- 25:32I thought of this could live, love my wife or my, my parents, my son, but this
- 25:39kind of love I, I didn't know before.
- 25:41So, I wrote this little book and actually it was like when I moved here to Opco
- 25:46two days, two days later, I was like posting a video on Instagram saying
- 25:50I'm living up here now in the nature.
- 25:53And I got like, from my.
- 25:55Former employee Laura.
- 25:57She used to work for me in, in Cologne like 12, 13 years ago.
- 26:00She's like, she wrote on Instagram like, what are you doing there?
- 26:03She said like, well, I live here now.
- 26:04Well, she said, like, I live in like right here in the village,
- 26:07like for 10 years, so let's meet.
- 26:10And her husband was also involved in the, in uncle in in the reading day,
- 26:15like where authors came to do readings.
- 26:17And so he took me into the program.
- 26:19So I was there officially in Hong Kong and did two readings that day.
- 26:23It was fun, you know, people came and listened to my, my Stories
- 26:29and tell us the name of the book.
- 26:30The book is named Dbia.
- 26:33There you are again.
- 26:34Dbi You again.
- 26:3532 episodes.
- 26:37Yeah, soul Journey of Zaza and Ze episode.
- 26:42That's the Journey.
- 26:43Subtitle.
- 26:44And Zaza Ze Being Journey.
- 26:46Right.
- 26:48And it's, it's a nice little book and yeah, people like it.
- 26:51And so that's the basic, and, and through that book I got I, I'm
- 26:55getting now three more authors.
- 26:57Like I one author in, in Hedburg now, like Christine, she wrote
- 27:01a book about her journey.
- 27:02Like one year she traveled with her family around the world.
- 27:05She, she wrote really nice books.
- 27:06So that's, I'm gonna publish that book under high on Living and, and others.
- 27:11So then through that, the new publishing part we call it High on Journey, high
- 27:17on Living, not On Journey, high on Living is a new division kind of buddy.
- 27:22Where I'm gonna publish the, the stories of people with their want to, you
- 27:28know, write their book about their own story and bring it out to the world.
- 27:31And it's, it's really cool so that, you know, so my, my past, my journeys,
- 27:37I got into a new business basically.
- 27:40And it's really interesting to see like how people are attracted to that.
- 27:44You know, it's also part of like, I think the future where people think
- 27:47about more how you run a business and what kind of business is good.
- 27:52So, I remember like a year ago I posted something on LinkedIn saying, you know,
- 27:56I'm, I'm going, like, the spiritual entrepreneurship is the new thing,
- 28:00kind of, you know, you have social entrepreneurship where you've got the
- 28:04sustainability and all that kind of stuff, but the spiritual entrepreneurship
- 28:08is something, it's in the future, like, especially the young generations looking
- 28:12to, to start is basically what, what.
- 28:15Kind of product or service you can do for, for everybody that it's not like,
- 28:20of course you run a business and you should make money with it, you know?
- 28:23So it's not like, but in a different way.
- 28:25It's not like you make money no matter what, and you you know, keep it all for
- 28:29yourself, you know, like we have nowadays with all the, the Jeff Basos and things,
- 28:33you know, I have like super yachts and so no, that's not spiritual entrepreneurship.
- 28:38It is like for, for everybody.
- 28:40And, and that's, that's the kind of thing I, I, I'm, I'm looking into,
- 28:44and that's that's how I want to start or build up my new publishing
- 28:48division also as a community.
- 28:50And it's all part, it's all together now.
- 28:52And like, started with my first MD major like four years ago.
- 28:57It's incredible.
- 28:57But what happened since, ever since, you know, so, and it's, it goes on, you know?
- 29:02So.
- 29:03So
- 29:03Rupert Isaacson: let's talk about some of those journeys.
- 29:05Tell us about the first journey you did, and then I want you to give us.
- 29:08Some windows on some of those other journeys.
- 29:12Let's start with your first journey four years ago.
- 29:15Well, the first journey was like I
- 29:16Ralf Daab: was, you know, you, you put the music on you basically, you take
- 29:20it and then it takes like half an hour.
- 29:22So, and then you put the music on.
- 29:24You're lying down.
- 29:25You lying down on the mattress in a quiet room.
- 29:27Quiet room.
- 29:28Yeah.
- 29:28Someone is there with you to look after you a bit.
- 29:31Yeah.
- 29:31Right, right.
- 29:32It, it's better like setting settings.
- 29:34Very important.
- 29:35Someone with not alone experience.
- 29:36Alone with experience.
- 29:37And you can have also like conversations, you know, during your, mm-hmm.
- 29:41Your, your.
- 29:42Journey.
- 29:43So I was like looking out the window and I saw like birds flying
- 29:47and said like, oh, that's fun.
- 29:48You know, let's fly with birds, you know?
- 29:49So, and I really, my soul left my body and I went up to the, and fly, you
- 29:53know, played with the, with the birds.
- 29:55And then I suddenly went further up through the clouds, through the sky.
- 30:01And I was up in, in the universe in the, so, and then I saw the earth from above.
- 30:06And how beautiful this be.
- 30:08Blue planet was standing, like, looked like standing still.
- 30:12I was really like, it, it, it wasn't like looking a picture, it was like I
- 30:16was there, my soul was up there, and I looked at this beautiful planet.
- 30:21I said like, oh yeah, my God, this is so beautiful.
- 30:23And what are, what are we doing here?
- 30:24And then, and then suddenly I had like a drag kind of like, it was so, so, so fast.
- 30:29I said, what the, the, the earth doesn't stand still.
- 30:32It, it, it turns like in one day.
- 30:35We, we have speed of 1,600 kilometers per hour.
- 30:38We, we moving, but we don't feel it, you know?
- 30:41So, and the, the, the earth is moving around the sun with the speed
- 30:46of 100,000 kilometers per hour.
- 30:49And it's incredible.
- 30:50Like, and you know what?
- 30:51And you don't feel it, but when you, and then I realized, hey,
- 30:56this is so, this is amazing.
- 30:59But it's also like, so it, it changed my perspective of like, being on that planet.
- 31:04You know what I mean?
- 31:05It's like seeing from outside and, and feeling the, the speed and almost
- 31:10felt like, you know, I'm nothing.
- 31:11I'm, I'm, I'm, and, and how f how big the universe is and how
- 31:16f everything is so creative.
- 31:17So I said like, who am I?
- 31:20You know, what am I doing here?
- 31:22Why we have wars on earth?
- 31:24Why we have so crazy people, like, you know, so that, that
- 31:28first journey changed my.
- 31:31Perspective of everything myself, the earth, the universe.
- 31:35And then, then I got back into my body and I was laying there.
- 31:39I said like, wow, this was incredible.
- 31:42This was, I've never had this experience before.
- 31:45And I was really, it felt like, you know, not looking TV or on the picture.
- 31:50It was like my soul was up there.
- 31:52And maybe it was, I think it was because maybe my soul was up there
- 31:56in form alive or whatever, you know?
- 31:57So, and that's a difference of, you know, maybe just meditation or being
- 32:02like in a different consciousness.
- 32:05Rupert Isaacson: Well, I think consciousness is the, is the word there.
- 32:09You know, listening to the current
- 32:14conversations that are going on around quantum explorations from
- 32:18physicists, it seems that the people who were dubbed crazy, like,
- 32:23penrose back in, in, in the uk.
- 32:26He was in his nineties.
- 32:27Now he, even though he was a, a Nobel laureate, even though he made many, many
- 32:33contributions to mainstream science that he was celebrated for when he came up
- 32:37with the idea that perhaps the universe is conscious, perhaps physics, the answers in
- 32:43in classical physics are just not enough.
- 32:46And that they need to interact with fields of consciousness that seem
- 32:54to be expressed through quantum.
- 32:57He was just, you know, laughed out of town.
- 32:59And then you had people like Rupert Shel, Drake, another renowned physicist
- 33:04in the uk basically saying the same thing, saying, no, I think, you know,
- 33:08from a scientific point of view, the only explanation is that we're dealing
- 33:11with a conscious universe and that everything is conscious and that cells
- 33:14a conscious, and consciousness is not, not a, not a product of the human brain.
- 33:19That the human brain comes from consciousness.
- 33:22You know, and that old sort of Judeo-Christian idea of from
- 33:28Descartes in the 17th century, I think therefore I am right.
- 33:32And so therefore only humans, you know, have spirituality,
- 33:36emotion, soul, blah, blah, blah.
- 33:37And of course this was taken up by the church with great alacrity 'cause
- 33:40it meant one could get away with doing all sorts of horrible things.
- 33:43'cause then you could also have a hierarchy of, within humans, you know,
- 33:46who, who's more worthy than others.
- 33:49And of course that turned out to be white people.
- 33:51Especially, you know, ones who are gonna go and do some colonizing.
- 33:54All of that seems to be breaking down now, and the people who are exploring fields
- 34:02of consciousness in the western world all seem to be coming to this conclusion.
- 34:08Talk us through your next journeys, because that was sort of your
- 34:12icebreaker, if you like, right?
- 34:14Where you you got the new perspective.
- 34:17And I remember having that same response when I was sort of in my
- 34:24late teens, early twenties, I think when I first ever did psychotropics.
- 34:28I think I was living in Canada actually at the time, and when I first did
- 34:32LSD and I realized this is before any of my exposure to sort of shamma
- 34:37shamanism or anything like that.
- 34:39And I remember thinking, this is really useful because this is like
- 34:42being taken up to a window on.
- 34:47Spirituality or window on altered consciousness or what now people
- 34:52might call other fields, but you can't really go through that window.
- 34:57The, the drug is also, it gives you the, the perspective,
- 35:02but also is the limitation.
- 35:04And then later when I encountered, you know, sun Bushman healers and others who
- 35:10could go through that window I, of course, you know, my life changed, but I remember
- 35:15thinking very early, yes, this is great.
- 35:17I'm so glad I got a chance to see through this window, but I
- 35:22can't go through that window.
- 35:23You know?
- 35:23So you, but so you kind of a bit did go through the window on that first
- 35:32trip, but not perhaps fully right?
- 35:35You're still.
- 35:37Aware, well, this is a medicine I've taken, or this is a drug that
- 35:39I've taken, it's brought me here.
- 35:41How does it then develop, talk, talk us through the next couple, when's the next
- 35:44sort of most significant moment in, in these journeys that stands out for you?
- 35:50Right.
- 35:50Ralf Daab: And, and this is very the most significant story I was
- 35:54like before, went on the journey.
- 35:56I said like, you know, I wanna really know what am I doing in my, my life here?
- 36:00What is my purpose?
- 36:01What is my calling?
- 36:01Like, you know, am I really doing the things I'm supposed to do?
- 36:05Like, so sometimes you, you can ask questions before or, you know, but it's,
- 36:10it's not necessarily that it comes up.
- 36:11The subconscious will tell you what, you know, what's important.
- 36:14But in this case, it came up and so I was listening to music.
- 36:19It was same thing.
- 36:20It was on a mattress listening to music, and it was a kind of,
- 36:23kind of Arabian melody music.
- 36:26So suddenly I saw myself on a bazaar in Persia, but some hundred years ago.
- 36:33So I was walking through, was bizarre, looking at, you know,
- 36:36beautiful things like bases, like carpets, like beautiful things.
- 36:40And the people like who were selling that, they know me, they, they
- 36:43offered me to take, oh, take a look at here and there and there.
- 36:46So, and then suddenly two guards came, like soldiers, and they Japanese said
- 36:50like, oh, I, you are Ralph, right?
- 36:53And yeah, I said like, yeah come on, the, the Salton wants to see you.
- 36:57I said, Saltan, why Saltan?
- 36:59Yeah.
- 36:59Come on.
- 37:00So, and, and I'm telling this story.
- 37:02I'm really in that story.
- 37:03I'm not, you know, looking from the outside and then
- 37:06see the, I'm in the story.
- 37:08It's the same thing.
- 37:09As I said before.
- 37:09My soul was in the, I like up in space now.
- 37:13My soul was in Persia some hundred years ago.
- 37:16And I, you know, I could hear the voices, I could see everything like, as I would
- 37:21be there, like, so I was in the, in the.
- 37:24I was, yeah, walking with the palace and, and towards the, the sultan.
- 37:29So the Sultan said, hello, Ralph, very nice to see you.
- 37:32Glad you came.
- 37:33And and then he said that this is it.
- 37:35They say, you can see the beauty.
- 37:39Show me the beauty in this world, because I cannot see the beauty show the
- 37:43beauty to me, and I will make you rich.
- 37:45So I said, okay, all right.
- 37:48So that's, and then I, this stopped, story stopped, and it was like in the
- 37:52conversation with the guy was with me.
- 37:54He said like, you know what, I could just experience I salt like
- 37:57some hundred years ago in Persia.
- 37:59He said, yeah, what does it mean?
- 38:00Like your subconscious wants to tell you something of that.
- 38:04So, yeah, yeah.
- 38:04I'm doing books like for the last 20 years I published books on architecture,
- 38:08art, fashion, you know, to show beautiful things, you know, to other people.
- 38:13That's what I'm doing.
- 38:14Yeah.
- 38:14Okay.
- 38:15So, all right, that's that.
- 38:17So now, now I know that I'm doing the right thing, you know, because.
- 38:21That's what my subconscious told me.
- 38:24The funny, now the thing is like one of the next, not the next one, but the, the
- 38:29journey after like, I don't know, four months later, did the Suan feel that you
- 38:33did show him the beauty, or did Yeah.
- 38:37That the story continues.
- 38:38Mm-hmm.
- 38:39Like four months later, say music comes up, you know, mattress.
- 38:43And I was like, oh, I'm in Persia again.
- 38:47And I said, oh, oh, let's see what's gonna happen.
- 38:50So I'm in front of the S again and he says like, oh yeah, glad you're back.
- 38:54I, you know, I watch you and then you do a good job.
- 38:57Continue.
- 38:57It is all right.
- 38:58You know, that's, you're doing the right thing.
- 39:01But I have to tell you something.
- 39:02I said, okay, what do you have to tell him?
- 39:04And he says, I don't exist.
- 39:06I said, what do you mean you don't exist?
- 39:07Who are you?
- 39:09And then he says, in this word, I'm God, I'm the universe, and I'm you.
- 39:14And then he vanished.
- 39:15He, he exposed, he's gone.
- 39:17The palace is gone.
- 39:18Everything is gone.
- 39:19I'm on the mattress, I'm back.
- 39:20And the said what?
- 39:22Yeah.
- 39:23And then talking to the guy, I said that, yeah, it was just happens.
- 39:25Had the high spiritual experience saying like, it's all in my set.
- 39:30And me the sultan is just, I'm you.
- 39:33He said, like, it's in me.
- 39:35So it's all there.
- 39:38And that's, that's an incredible story.
- 39:42Now now I know that I'm on the right path.
- 39:45So what happened then is we were in California two years ago and we
- 39:52were down in San Diego, LA Jolla.
- 39:54It's like, a place I know, 'cause I've been there many times when I
- 39:57lived in the us So I was going to the bookstore and check out the bookstore.
- 40:03So there was a, I sort of sign psychic reading.
- 40:05I said like, ah, I'm curious.
- 40:07Let's say, let's go there.
- 40:08So I called and said like, come like in half an hour.
- 40:12So, so walk in and there's an old lady, beautiful setting, you
- 40:15know, it was more like a gallery.
- 40:17And I asked her, what, what can you do?
- 40:19So, and she said like, I, I can do a reading.
- 40:22I said, okay, let's do it.
- 40:23So one hour she said, like you said, just sit down.
- 40:26You don't say anything, you know, just listen.
- 40:28And after that you can ask questions.
- 40:31Like afterwards, in one hour she told me everything about my childhood, my, my
- 40:36life, my relationships, my, the things I'm doing, business wise, everything.
- 40:41And now it comes.
- 40:43Then she told me, in a former life you were in Persia on Aza you were responsible
- 40:49to show people beautiful things.
- 40:50Can you imagine like a psychic reader in California?
- 40:53That's real.
- 40:54It's not, that's not a journey.
- 40:56That's not, that's real life.
- 40:58She tells me the story I experienced on an Emily MJ journey six months before.
- 41:04Incredible.
- 41:05And then, and then af especially then I knew that's, that's something real,
- 41:10you know, now I know it's, it's there.
- 41:13It doesn't matter if it's a journey and the image or it's real life.
- 41:17It, it's, it's the same basically.
- 41:19And how can she possibly know that, you know?
- 41:23And did you ask her how she did?
- 41:24Yeah.
- 41:25And, and she said like, what?
- 41:26She said, like, when I walked in, she said, like, I was,
- 41:29she could see everything.
- 41:30I was open.
- 41:31She said like, you know, you are very open.
- 41:34And then I told her about the journeys.
- 41:36She said, okay, now I know because you did the journeys, you're, you're very open.
- 41:39You can, you know, so you're I, I have a feeling also that I can, things are
- 41:44channeled to me, you know, sometimes, you know, says, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 41:49That's all, that's you.
- 41:51And it's incredible.
- 41:52Then after that you said like, okay, now I'm, I'm really like the next level.
- 41:57Of my myself, basically, you know?
- 42:01So, and that showed me that what, what's in me, in my subconscious
- 42:06comes out through the MDA major.
- 42:08It is in real life.
- 42:09It's like what calla synchronicity happens, you know, like you
- 42:13experience things in real life.
- 42:16Maybe you have a dream or you have a journey.
- 42:18I'm the major, whatever.
- 42:20Or maybe mushrooms and things are happening.
- 42:23And that's, I think, great.
- 42:27It opens up
- 42:28Rupert Isaacson: many doors.
- 42:28Did she elucidate or do you feel that what's going on with a thing
- 42:33like that is that you were dealing actually with a linear timeline?
- 42:36Like I used to be that person I, I'm, I'm now reincarnated as this person?
- 42:41Or do you or she feel that No, these are existing and overlapping parallels, fields
- 42:49of consciousness, which are perhaps.
- 42:53Happening simultaneously.
- 42:55Yeah.
- 42:55It's more like I experienced it happening all at the same time.
- 42:58So you are still the Yeah.
- 43:00It's person in Persia.
- 43:02Yeah.
- 43:02And you are still whoever you were or will be, right?
- 43:06Ralf Daab: Right.
- 43:06Even like in, in formal lives.
- 43:08But also now I'm still the young Ralph, the, the baby Ralph, the, the
- 43:125-year-old Ralph, the 15-year-old Ralph.
- 43:15I'm, I'm also, but I'm also the 90-year-old Ralph.
- 43:18Old, old Ralph already I'm, everything's at the same time.
- 43:22It's just a different perspective.
- 43:25You know, when you look at this and you can say it's just, if I'm like
- 43:29I'm now 60 years old, so if I go like 55 light years away, I look to the
- 43:35earth and I see the 5-year-old Ralph.
- 43:37So it's all at the same time.
- 43:40And the great thing is what I experienced myself, is to find the
- 43:44old, the 5-year-old Ralph again in me.
- 43:47To let the, let the, the young Ralph play again, like the, you know, be
- 43:51silly, be, you know, open and yeah.
- 43:54And that's a great thing.
- 43:55So to know that everything is there at the same time, time is nothing.
- 44:00Time
- 44:01Rupert Isaacson: is, was it, was it Einstein who said that time may
- 44:05just be a particularly stubborn illusion brought about by gravity?
- 44:10Yeah, I'm not sure I understand that, but that's certainly something he said.
- 44:14But I, I suppose I could actually, because if you add weight and mass
- 44:19to things, you know, you've probably seen those diagrams of the idea of
- 44:23space and time being like a net.
- 44:24And you put planet like ball that sits on it, goes whoop, like that.
- 44:28Yeah.
- 44:28Right.
- 44:28And that warp kind of effect of like the ball on the blanket with a
- 44:34blanket then gets a big bulge in it.
- 44:36If we are sort of in the middle of that, we then might experience that
- 44:40heaviness, that weight as time could be.
- 44:43Could that be, I mean, that sounds as, as feasible as anything else to me.
- 44:46I don't see why that wouldn't be, particularly when you've got
- 44:49people like Einstein saying it.
- 44:51Okay.
- 44:51Take us through the next thing.
- 44:54But before you get there, there's actually just something I'd like to also add.
- 44:58When I've been with indigenous peoples frequently, their
- 45:01perception of time is not linear.
- 45:05It's often more vertical.
- 45:06The idea is again, that it's all these things are happening simultaneously.
- 45:11You own lifespan is happening simultaneously.
- 45:14You are, as you say, your young self, your old self, your dead self, your previous
- 45:18self, your next self, all of that.
- 45:20That's all at the same time.
- 45:23It's just that where your awareness is, is now.
- 45:27Yeah.
- 45:27And that, of course there is only the present because no
- 45:30one's ever been able to see.
- 45:32Anything else.
- 45:33But there are all those presence are constantly going on together.
- 45:36And I've had that, I've had that presented to me many, many
- 45:40times in indigenous settings.
- 45:43And then watch people do really interesting things with that.
- 45:45Then I just say it.
- 45:46But then they will go into an altered set of consciousness and in front of my eyes,
- 45:51pull something physically outta somebody's body who's sick and they get well.
- 45:54Again, I, I've seen that many people who've gone and spent time
- 45:58in those sorts of parts of the world would have similar stories.
- 46:01So clearly it's been put to some sort of practical use.
- 46:05It's just within our context in our culture, we find it confusing.
- 46:10Tell us then again, you, okay, so there's, there's you in Persia twice.
- 46:17There you are in San Diego.
- 46:18And the lady says, oh yeah, you were in Persia.
- 46:20What's the next one that takes you deeper?
- 46:24As you know, if you followed any of my work, I'm an autism dad and we have
- 46:29a whole career before this podcast in helping people with neurodivergence,
- 46:36either who are professionals in the field.
- 46:38Are you a therapist?
- 46:39Are you a caregiver?
- 46:41Are you a parent?
- 46:43Or are you somebody with neurodivergence?
- 46:46When my son, Rowan, was diagnosed with autism in 2004,
- 46:51I really didn't know what to do.
- 46:53So I reached out for mentorship, and I found it through an amazing adult
- 46:58autistic woman who's very famous, Dr.
- 47:01Temple Grandin.
- 47:02And she told me what to do.
- 47:04And it's been working so amazingly for the last 20 years.
- 47:08That not only is my son basically independent, but we've helped
- 47:13countless, countless thousands of others reach the same goal.
- 47:17Working in schools, working at home, working in therapy settings.
- 47:22If you would like to learn this cutting edge, neuroscience backed
- 47:27approach, it's called Movement Method.
- 47:30You can learn it online, you can learn it very, very simply.
- 47:33It's almost laughably simple.
- 47:36The important thing is to begin.
- 47:40Let yourself be mentored as I was by Dr.
- 47:43Grandin and see what results can follow.
- 47:47Go to this website, newtrailslearning.
- 47:52com Sign up as a gold member.
- 47:55Take the online movement method course.
- 47:59It's in 40 countries.
- 48:01Let us know how it goes for you.
- 48:03We really want to know.
- 48:04We really want to help people like me, people like you, out there
- 48:09live their best life, to live free, ride free, see what happens.
- 48:13I can tell you a story.
- 48:14Ralf Daab: I mean, we are under us now.
- 48:15Now it's very confidential.
- 48:17Oh, no.
- 48:18Well,
- 48:19Rupert Isaacson: I've hit the course.
- 48:21Ralf Daab: You
- 48:21Rupert Isaacson: don't want it.
- 48:22Ralf Daab: No, no, no.
- 48:22It's really, I can tell the story because it's once, this story is really, when
- 48:26I do the reading, you know, especially woman asked me, how, how did you do that?
- 48:31So I had sex with myself.
- 48:33Ah, I
- 48:34Ralf Daab: explain it now.
- 48:34Were you good?
- 48:36Yes, absolutely.
- 48:37And then, and it was incredible what a relief
- 48:39Rupert Isaacson: would be.
- 48:40Ralf Daab: Can you imagine if you like, well, that was a bit shit.
- 48:44No, no, I was yeah, same thing.
- 48:46So I was, music was good.
- 48:48I was feeling really good.
- 48:49And so I, I started touching myself, but it felt like, you know, I'm
- 48:53touching somebody else, like with my hands, with somebody else.
- 48:56And I realized, oh, you know, came up.
- 48:59Oh, sex is good, you know, and then I saw myself as a man, as I am as Ralph.
- 49:07But then I realized there's something different.
- 49:09So I was also the woman.
- 49:12I was both, I was me and the woman, and I felt both, you know,
- 49:19both sides, basically both feet.
- 49:20I, I could feel myself and when I, when I, as Ralph as a man touched
- 49:24the woman, the Ralph, whatever name touched, I could feel both sides.
- 49:29So, and then we had sex, and then we really had sex.
- 49:32So we had Did you enter yourself?
- 49:33Yes.
- 49:33Yes.
- 49:33Did you feel
- 49:34Rupert Isaacson: yourself being entered by you?
- 49:35Yes.
- 49:36Yes.
- 49:36Ralf Daab: Yes.
- 49:37Rupert Isaacson: Okay.
- 49:37So you, you as a man know what it feels like to penetrate, how did it feel
- 49:40to be penetrated from that feeling?
- 49:43Very, very, very, very good.
- 49:45It felt very, what can you, can you, can you be more specific?
- 49:48Like,
- 49:49Ralf Daab: I felt like, I felt it was very tender.
- 49:52It was like smooth.
- 49:53It was lovely.
- 49:55It was, you know,
- 49:56Rupert Isaacson: very what was the emotional component of
- 49:59having this lover inside you?
- 50:01It was love.
- 50:02Ralf Daab: It was, it was, it felt like love, you know, like
- 50:05everything, you know, so it felt.
- 50:08Felt like I, I was, I would be one once, you know, everything in both.
- 50:13But I, I had my, the, the feminine side and I had the masculine
- 50:17side, and it was incredible.
- 50:20So I, for me as a man afterwards, I was saying like, okay, it's good.
- 50:24I'm, I'm very soft.
- 50:25I'm tender, I'm, I'm, I'm a good man.
- 50:27I'm very, you know, like, you know, so I, I think that woman feels
- 50:33feel good in my, you know, with me.
- 50:35So, and the other side was like, oh yeah, he's a good, he's great.
- 50:38He's so it was both
- 50:40Rupert Isaacson: sides.
- 50:41And he's credible, like when I, do you think it was an exercise in
- 50:43self-acceptance in some metaphorical way?
- 50:46Yeah.
- 50:46Kind of.
- 50:47Kind of,
- 50:47Ralf Daab: yes.
- 50:48Yeah.
- 50:49It was funny, like, when I do the readings, most women ask
- 50:51me, oh, how, how does it feel?
- 50:53And then how, how does it work to get into that feeling?
- 50:56Because they wanna experience the same thing, but also as a man.
- 50:59Sure.
- 51:00You know,
- 51:00Rupert Isaacson: everyone has that curiosity.
- 51:01And then for
- 51:02Ralf Daab: me it was like, this journey was like to, to show me
- 51:05that everything is also in me, the feminine side and the masculine side.
- 51:10And my feminine part, I would say is also, I would say, bit
- 51:16larger than maybe other men.
- 51:18So I have real good feminine side also.
- 51:22And that was this journey, you know, to experience the sexual part on both sides.
- 51:31Rupert Isaacson: So,
- 51:32Ralf Daab: yeah,
- 51:33Rupert Isaacson: it's interesting that you say that because I have a, it's not
- 51:37exactly a recurring dream, but it's a dream where the, there's a recognition
- 51:42that is recurring where sometimes I meet a young woman, and this has happened to me.
- 51:51Oh.
- 51:53Many times in the, over the decades, and there's this absolute falling
- 51:57in love and but also a sense of, I know you, and sometimes we
- 52:04make love and sometimes we don't.
- 52:05But there's always this great joy and a feeling of homecoming and acceptance.
- 52:12And then when I wake up, sometimes I wake up with tears, not from loss, not
- 52:18because I've had to wake up and that person has gone, but sort of tears of joy.
- 52:24And then at a heart level, what comes through is, oh, that was your soul.
- 52:29You met your soul.
- 52:30And it's interesting to me that my soul is always feminine
- 52:34and occasionally it's a horse.
- 52:37Mm-hmm.
- 52:38Occasionally I meet a horse that talks, we don't make love.
- 52:41But we do hang out and we, and we the interactions we have are very sweet.
- 52:50Very loving.
- 52:52There is this feeling of
- 52:56a family, family or so less romantic than when I meet the young woman.
- 53:05But nonetheless, the same exact feeling and the same heart
- 53:09thought, that's your soul.
- 53:11And then I'm always so grateful afterwards.
- 53:13I always do a meditation or, or pray around gratitude and say, thank you, thank
- 53:19you, thank you God universe for allowing me to make contact with my soul like
- 53:26that because it means that I can carry that feeling around with me almost like
- 53:33a little happiness garden inside myself.
- 53:35And it sounds like you are describing.
- 53:39A very, very intense version of something like that, perhaps.
- 53:42Mm-hmm.
- 53:42Rupert Isaacson: Has that happened to you again since, or No.
- 53:45Was that a one time?
- 53:46That was a one time, yeah.
- 53:47Ralf Daab: Yeah.
- 53:48But it's there now.
- 53:48Now I know.
- 53:49Like, it's in me
- 53:50Rupert Isaacson: like, like
- 53:50Ralf Daab: Right.
- 53:51Do
- 53:51Rupert Isaacson: you
- 53:51Ralf Daab: feel
- 53:51Rupert Isaacson: you can access that state?
- 53:52Yeah.
- 53:53Ralf Daab: Yeah.
- 53:54Yeah.
- 53:55It's with everything, you know, the thing is like, every story is comforting.
- 53:58I think that that's the word I'm trying to Yeah, yeah.
- 54:01Right.
- 54:01Yeah.
- 54:02Every story I experience like is, it's in me.
- 54:05It's, it's, it's right there, you know, different situations.
- 54:08I can pull it up and say, oh, yeah.
- 54:11There's another great story I tell you.
- 54:13Mm-hmm.
- 54:14Please.
- 54:14I always had a dream for years because you were talking about a dream.
- 54:18In real life, like, I had dream like years and years and years.
- 54:21I, I, you know, I was flying a lot, you know, when I lived in New York, I was
- 54:25like always on the, you know, plane.
- 54:27Like, I don't know.
- 54:29I.
- 54:29Every week almost.
- 54:30I never had fear of flying or, you know, something, but in that dream the plane
- 54:35crashed and in the, in the dark woods.
- 54:38So, you know, I survive and everybody in the plane survive.
- 54:42So, but I'm standing in the front of the wreck, the, the
- 54:45wreckage that, of the plane.
- 54:47And then the dream always stops there in the, in the, in darkness.
- 54:52And this is a dream
- 54:53Rupert Isaacson: outside of these MDMA journey, right?
- 54:55Right.
- 54:55Like the dream
- 54:56Ralf Daab: I had like, for, for years, 10 years or so.
- 54:58Okay.
- 54:59Even, even more 15 years or so.
- 55:02So I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm standing in front of the wreckage and, and and it's
- 55:04dark and then the dream stops there.
- 55:07I wake up and the dream stops there.
- 55:09So on one of the journeys, the dream comes up.
- 55:13Same thing.
- 55:14I'm standing in front of the wreckage and, and now I start walking.
- 55:21Into the darkness.
- 55:22You know, it, I could see nothing.
- 55:24It was just black, you know, woods black, nothing could see anything.
- 55:29How about I keep walking and then suddenly a, a girl stands there in
- 55:33this white skirt, like a little, like five year, four year girl, girl.
- 55:38And she puts me like an amlin around my neck.
- 55:41And then she, she tells me that, go your path into the light.
- 55:47Walk into the light.
- 55:49So I keep walking, walking.
- 55:51Suddenly I see a light, you know, in the woods.
- 55:54So, and I get there and then and there's a huge deer like in, in the middle, standing
- 56:01there in the light, and he steps aside.
- 56:04And I go in there and I start dancing in that space where the light is.
- 56:12And then suddenly I, I'm, I'm on a stage.
- 56:14I'm in a huge stage, and then the curtains open, and then there are
- 56:18thousands of people applauding.
- 56:20And then I'm, I'm back there on stage dancing again.
- 56:24So what tells me that metaphor was like, yes, I was, I was broke, you
- 56:29know, I was like, you know, lost kind of like, and I was lost in real
- 56:34life, so I was lost standing there.
- 56:37I was not dead, but, and then I start walking and this little
- 56:41girl gives me like an omelet.
- 56:42Like say, okay, go into the light.
- 56:45And then I'm, I'm on stage dancing and I'm back into my life.
- 56:48I'm back on stage.
- 56:50I'm, so, it's a fantastic story for me.
- 56:53And ever since it's like, I don't know, two years ago, never had that dream again.
- 57:00'cause it's the, the, the situation is solved now, you know?
- 57:04You know what I mean?
- 57:05Like, I'm back on stage and there was an old life that
- 57:09Rupert Isaacson: had to end sort of.
- 57:12Yeah, very businessy, very flying, roundy involved type life.
- 57:19Right.
- 57:19It needed to end, but when that ends, of course, yeah.
- 57:22One feels lost for a while.
- 57:25Yeah.
- 57:26Until one is put on the next stage.
- 57:28I could see, I could see the logic of that.
- 57:32So that was really like,
- 57:33Ralf Daab: Yeah.
- 57:35Never had that dream again.
- 57:36I don't need that dream again.
- 57:37'cause now I'm back in state basically kind of like, okay, I'm back
- 57:42Rupert Isaacson: now before we come to where you are back to, which
- 57:49is different to where you were and perhaps an old self did have to die.
- 57:53Talk to me about death.
- 57:56So with these journeys, you experienced perspective, you
- 58:03experienced love and self-acceptance.
- 58:05You experienced.
- 58:08Different fields of consciousness and vertical parallel timelines.
- 58:16Ralf Daab: I know what you,
- 58:17Rupert Isaacson: yeah.
- 58:18Have you experienced death and if so, yes.
- 58:20Yes.
- 58:21Tell me about that.
- 58:22Yes, I experienced
- 58:23Ralf Daab: my own death and it was wonderful.
- 58:26Some people would say, oh, scaring, or, you know, I don't
- 58:29want to, you know, experience that I did and it was wonderful.
- 58:33So the thing is, I, I was, you know, same thing, you know, mattress music
- 58:38is on and I see myself on the beach in os Gore, that's in France, like
- 58:43on the Atlantic Coast where we go almost every year for a long time now.
- 58:48It's like a soul place for me.
- 58:49Like it's, you know, so I see myself like on the beach sitting
- 58:53there in the arms of a woman, but I don't see the woman behind me.
- 58:57But I'm sitting there and then I.
- 58:59The number 96 comes up.
- 59:01So my age, 96.
- 59:03I say, wow, that's fantastic.
- 59:04I'm 96 years old.
- 59:05I had a good life.
- 59:07I it's a lot of time.
- 59:09So, and then I felt that my soul is leaving my body, you know, it's like going
- 59:14out of my body, like over the sand and the water up in the, through the cloud.
- 59:19There were no clouds, but up in the sky and then into space and, and it said
- 59:23like, I'm dying and actually a diet.
- 59:26And the woman behind me said, like, you know, I'm, I'm coming with you later.
- 59:31And I love you.
- 59:32That's the last thing I heard.
- 59:33I love you, but I couldn't see the woman, so I don't know who it is.
- 59:37Yeah, no.
- 59:38So that's but it was a wonderful experience.
- 59:43It was very, very smooth, very not hurting, nothing.
- 59:49You know, it was like going in back into space.
- 59:52It, it just felt really, really wonderful.
- 59:55And then being 96, I said like, you know, if that's, this
- 59:58is really, I'm gonna be 96.
- 1:00:00Wow, that's great.
- 1:00:01You know, so I still have, you know, about, it was 56 at that
- 1:00:04time, so I have 40 years to go.
- 1:00:07It is fantastic.
- 1:00:08You know, so, and if I die 90, say whatever can happen to me now, that being
- 1:00:10Rupert Isaacson: 16
- 1:00:11Ralf Daab: again.
- 1:00:11Rupert Isaacson: Yeah.
- 1:00:12Ralf Daab: Yeah.
- 1:00:12That's the other story.
- 1:00:13Now that, that's the part I experience on the MDMA journey.
- 1:00:17But, so three months later we are actually in our school.
- 1:00:21I go for a walk on the beach.
- 1:00:22I have music on.
- 1:00:23That's what I do.
- 1:00:24Like once a day I going for a walk and then I stop.
- 1:00:28And at that, I'm at that point where I said, oh, here has, here is this, here's
- 1:00:32a place where I die so I could see it.
- 1:00:35And I, I got showered.
- 1:00:36It felt like boo goosebumps wall.
- 1:00:38I.
- 1:00:39I start crying, you know, say, wow, this is, here's a place.
- 1:00:43So I then did calculations, said like I was 56.
- 1:00:47Then I said, I, when I 96, it's 40 years to go.
- 1:00:51When I subtract that from 56, I'm 16 years old now, and I can start all over
- 1:00:57again with everything, with relationship, with business, with everything.
- 1:01:01And I still have 40 years to go, wow, how fantastic is that?
- 1:01:05So, and then I started crying and laughing and I was dancing on the beach
- 1:01:09and I was like, wow, this is fantastic.
- 1:01:11So that was real, you know, so that's what I said earlier with with when you
- 1:01:15have like the experience with, with the Saltan or you know, with things
- 1:01:19that happen in, in on the MDMA journey.
- 1:01:22And then you have experience like in real life you say, well, that's
- 1:01:25the same thing, you know here.
- 1:01:27The, his story continues in real life, so I.
- 1:01:32It was just fantastic.
- 1:01:33And I said like, I don't have fear of death, nothing.
- 1:01:37So what, what else can happen to me?
- 1:01:39And one thing is like, a friend of mine, tma, he died in November of cancer
- 1:01:45last November, very sad age of 58.
- 1:01:48So, and last year I took him twice on the journey, MDMA journey.
- 1:01:54And he experienced also his death on his first journey which helped him
- 1:01:59a lot to, at the end, I was in the hospice with him the last three days.
- 1:02:04And he told me the story, like how he died and he was great.
- 1:02:08He was, you know, going into the light and he had no fear, you know, and he left
- 1:02:13and with no fear and he gave me so much power and energy and it was incredible.
- 1:02:18So, for him, this MDMA journey was wonderful, you know?
- 1:02:24Going through this whole process, and then eventually he died then.
- 1:02:27But it was great.
- 1:02:29So for him and for me also, yeah.
- 1:02:32So these are things that that's why I also like, going, I dunno
- 1:02:36when next week, two weeks, we're gonna do like, MDA journey again.
- 1:02:40Like this is like, just experience.
- 1:02:42Like what, what's coming, you know, you can look into the future or I can look
- 1:02:47into the future, or I can ask questions.
- 1:02:48So like, what is, what, what's coming next?
- 1:02:50Or ideas is something I should I should look at.
- 1:02:54Or what also happens is that's what the, the psychic reading told me also,
- 1:02:58like, I should be open to to channeling.
- 1:03:01And that's happening also.
- 1:03:02Sometimes when I wake up in the morning, it's now, I, I sleep very
- 1:03:07well because one thing is also like, it helped me a lot in the last six months
- 1:03:10without the separation, the ending of the relationship and everything.
- 1:03:13I.
- 1:03:14I don't drink alcohol in it no more for six months now.
- 1:03:18And it's great, you know, I feel good.
- 1:03:21I sleep better.
- 1:03:21I, I'm clear.
- 1:03:22So it's, it's fantastic.
- 1:03:25So I wake up most of the time, early in the morning, like 5 30, 6.
- 1:03:29And then in that stage I'm, I'm just saying, okay, I'm
- 1:03:33open, just channel whatever.
- 1:03:34Like, I'm talking to the universe, they're like, oh, let, let me know
- 1:03:37what I, you know, should look at.
- 1:03:39And and I, I get messages.
- 1:03:42It's, it's amazing.
- 1:03:42Can you give us some
- 1:03:43Rupert Isaacson: examples?
- 1:03:45Ralf Daab: Yeah.
- 1:03:45It's like, some people come up, they say, oh, you should talk to him.
- 1:03:48Or some people like like yesterday for example, was some like really like
- 1:03:53a name came up or I saw the picture actually of a person who I've seen for
- 1:03:57like years said I should talk, contact him, you know, so that kind of thing.
- 1:04:01And I sent an email yesterday.
- 1:04:05Got a response, so maybe a new project.
- 1:04:07So that's kind of things, you know, oh, let's say I should do this or that,
- 1:04:11or just some, sometimes small things.
- 1:04:14But yeah, it's kind of like, or I see get also sometimes messages for other people
- 1:04:19when I, when I see oh, there's something going on, and yeah, be careful, you know?
- 1:04:24So I think it's more like, and then you tell
- 1:04:27Rupert Isaacson: that person, I saw this.
- 1:04:29Ralf Daab: Yeah,
- 1:04:29Rupert Isaacson: keep your eyes
- 1:04:30Ralf Daab: open.
- 1:04:31It's like what Psyched told me, like you are very open, you know, you
- 1:04:34know, a higher frequency basically.
- 1:04:37And I feel that sometimes, you know, that I can get messages or feel something and,
- 1:04:43that's what Yeah, it's, it's, it's great.
- 1:04:46So it's nothing I'm, I'm afraid of, you know, so it's just really good.
- 1:04:50And that's why, you know, I'm continue also doing, doing like, I'm
- 1:04:53starting doing Kundalini now because Kundalini yoga is also spiritual,
- 1:04:58you know, it's a connection between spirit and body and everything.
- 1:05:02It's, it is part of the spiritual journey.
- 1:05:04Or the go meditation I did last weekend in, in Hamburg was fantastic.
- 1:05:09Have you done go meditation?
- 1:05:11Wow.
- 1:05:11I have not,
- 1:05:12Rupert Isaacson: but I have, I have done things with singing bowls and frequencies.
- 1:05:17I was recently in Grand Rapids, Michigan and went through a meditation with singing
- 1:05:25balls, very similar to gongs actually.
- 1:05:27And one of the things which the practitioner did as we were lying
- 1:05:32there, was with a tuning fork coming around and then putting the tuning fork.
- 1:05:40To the skin at the frequency of the bowl.
- 1:05:46And I, what I found extraordinary about that was that I didn't experience it
- 1:05:51as like a vibration or a buzzing or a tickling or something that you'd,
- 1:05:55you'd expect I experienced it as color.
- 1:05:58Mm-hmm.
- 1:05:59And
- 1:06:02deep sense of peace.
- 1:06:03And I was actually there with my son.
- 1:06:05I was there with Rowan sc you know who's Yeah.
- 1:06:08Okay.
- 1:06:08My whole story really?
- 1:06:09Yeah.
- 1:06:09Yeah.
- 1:06:09We were there
- 1:06:10Rupert Isaacson: together and he'd been actually helping me
- 1:06:12with a, an autism training.
- 1:06:14You know, he often comes on the trainings now and helps explain
- 1:06:17autism from the inside to people.
- 1:06:20And to be going through that experience with him was lovely.
- 1:06:23And actually that, that.
- 1:06:24What you just said brings me sort of to the next thing, which is I think
- 1:06:27some people will be listening saying, oh, well, does that mean I have to
- 1:06:30do a psychotropic substance in order to begin to access these states?
- 1:06:35And of course the answer is no.
- 1:06:37No.
- 1:06:37All of my early experiences with those ulcer state of consciousness
- 1:06:43as healing have been with cultures where those plants just don't grow.
- 1:06:49So for example, in the Kalahari, in southern Africa,
- 1:06:53there are no psychotropics.
- 1:06:55So the healers dance themselves into trance but then are incredibly effective
- 1:07:02whether they are healing or whether they're contacting ancestor spirits for
- 1:07:07answers to a dilemma or whether they are, whether it's hunting magic, and they just
- 1:07:11need to know where the lions are so they can go the other way the next day, or,
- 1:07:15or, or, of course, those who know my story know that it, it even got tied up with the
- 1:07:20human rights and political struggle that the son were in, that I was helping with.
- 1:07:26Where I realized that what was happening was the lawyers that we
- 1:07:30were hiring for them because they've been kicked off their land illegally
- 1:07:36to make way for diamond mines.
- 1:07:39Were going talking to the.
- 1:07:42Community who would then go and talk to their healers, who would then go into
- 1:07:45trance and go into the spirit world, come back with a series of instructions, tell
- 1:07:49that to the community, who would then tell that to the lawyers, and then that
- 1:07:51would be the strategy for the courtroom.
- 1:07:55But the lawyers had no idea that they were being directed from the spirit world.
- 1:07:59And when I realized that that was going on, I, oh my gosh, I
- 1:08:02can never tell these guys this.
- 1:08:03'cause what?
- 1:08:03It'll put them off their game.
- 1:08:05But what happened was that, you know, us with the measly, you know,
- 1:08:07a hundred thousand that we managed to raise up against DeBeers Diamonds.
- 1:08:15The Bushman won
- 1:08:19the largest land claim in African history, and then several more after
- 1:08:24that and did indeed get to go home and did indeed see the whole process
- 1:08:29through no psychotropics involved.
- 1:08:33Then a few years ago, I was going through a rather difficult.
- 1:08:38Period.
- 1:08:38And I was experiencing a lot of fear and it was beginning to take over.
- 1:08:44And I was with a healer I know in the Americas who
- 1:08:48heals in the Lakota tradition.
- 1:08:50And there they do use a psychotropic, they use peyote which is partly,
- 1:08:56you know, dimethyltryptamine, DMT, strongest hallucinogen known to man.
- 1:09:01And he said, Rupert, I can just see we were in a sweat lodge.
- 1:09:04And I'd done that before, sweating through.
- 1:09:06He said, I can see you need medicine, you know?
- 1:09:09And I was like, no, I do.
- 1:09:10The last thing I need right now is I'm just clinging onto
- 1:09:13my sanity by my fingernails.
- 1:09:14The last thing I need is some kind of psychotropic drug is ripper.
- 1:09:17How long have you known me?
- 1:09:18You know, do you feel I'm a professional or not?
- 1:09:21Good?
- 1:09:21Fine.
- 1:09:23You know, so he says, I'll give you, you know, the dosage
- 1:09:26I think that you should have.
- 1:09:27And what was so interesting was I.
- 1:09:29After a while, I became aware of like a little red laser that
- 1:09:33you might see in a PowerPoint.
- 1:09:34Mm-hmm.
- 1:09:35Going through my body and stopping at areas where I had stiffness and pain.
- 1:09:39Oh.
- 1:09:39And it would go b
- 1:09:42beep, and then it would move on and the pain would, at that place would be gone.
- 1:09:46And then a certain point it crossed into my brain and it
- 1:09:50started going around my brain.
- 1:09:51And everywhere it was finding fear and anxiety.
- 1:09:54It would stop and go B,
- 1:09:58you know, and it would be gone.
- 1:10:00And like it was finding, you know, cortisol scarring effectively from
- 1:10:04stress and taking that away, which we know oxytocin can do naturally, but this
- 1:10:09was happening very, very, very quickly.
- 1:10:12And I remember thinking, well, this is great, but you know, the drug's gonna
- 1:10:15wear off and then it will all come back.
- 1:10:17But it never did.
- 1:10:18The healing was real and lasting.
- 1:10:23But the reason I'm telling that story and then the stories from.
- 1:10:28Previously when no medicine was involved is, I think, speaking to your
- 1:10:36point where you've now been four years letting, let's say the plant medicine
- 1:10:43because MDMA is effectively a plant derivative or, or you know, synthesize
- 1:10:50drugs are effectively plant derivatives.
- 1:10:53And now you're finding, oh, actually I no longer need that to access.
- 1:10:59Right.
- 1:11:00The, and you know, and even though it doesn't mean I'm gonna reject it, I
- 1:11:03will still continue to do those things, but I know it, it's done its job
- 1:11:07for having provided me the, the, the way through the window, if you like.
- 1:11:11Would you say that that's
- 1:11:12Ralf Daab: true?
- 1:11:13Yeah, exactly.
- 1:11:14Exactly.
- 1:11:14It goes faster.
- 1:11:15I mean, there are different ways to, and everybody can find, they should
- 1:11:18find their own own way to, to get there.
- 1:11:21It's just a little faster, I would say, you know, it's.
- 1:11:26You can do it like one day, basically a journey.
- 1:11:29And when you do other things, you have to train it, you have to
- 1:11:31like, yeah, really get into it.
- 1:11:33It can take hours or like weeks, decades or decades, you know, you could get
- 1:11:38there, but it takes a long, longer time.
- 1:11:40So with, with MA or maybe other things like mushrooms.
- 1:11:44And so it, it gets faster because, you know, there's nothing you can do.
- 1:11:47You just, it's gonna act on the way it's gonna happen that way.
- 1:11:50Yeah, right.
- 1:11:51So, it's basically, you know, just to bring the body to, to
- 1:11:58produce more dopamine, you know, or certainly, you know, so, but yeah.
- 1:12:03But a lot of people are afraid or they're like don't want to take
- 1:12:06drugs, you know, of course, you know, maybe self-control, whatever.
- 1:12:10And they always say like, you know, drugs, what is drugs?
- 1:12:13You know, like medicine is, it's all drugs and it's as a therapy, it, it helps.
- 1:12:20I mean, like, it's, it's proven, you know?
- 1:12:21So, post-traumatic traumas.
- 1:12:23You know, in other countries like Australia, it's legal now they, they
- 1:12:27do it and they're working on it.
- 1:12:28I think also in the u in US and even in Europe.
- 1:12:31So it takes some years, but then it will be, for therapy, it will be legalized.
- 1:12:37MDMA, right?
- 1:12:38MDMA.
- 1:12:38Yeah.
- 1:12:39MDA.
- 1:12:39And of course it used to be.
- 1:12:40Used to be, used to be.
- 1:12:42So, yeah.
- 1:12:43But there are different ways and everybody can find their, their own way.
- 1:12:46And it should be, it is no dogma.
- 1:12:48It's no dogma to say you have to do this to get there, you know, so.
- 1:12:51Right.
- 1:12:52Rupert Isaacson: It, it's also interesting that you talk about Kundalini, because
- 1:12:54the Bushman have a, a similar idea, you know, Kundalini's supposed to reside
- 1:13:00at the base of your spine, right?
- 1:13:01Mm-hmm.
- 1:13:01And it's a life force, a sexual energy that you can begin to manipulate the
- 1:13:06Bushman colic mum and forward slash.
- 1:13:11The forward slash is that click that, and mum is one of those untranslatable words,
- 1:13:18which it can mean power, this type of life force wisdom can mean many things.
- 1:13:25But they, what they do is they over years of training, learn how to
- 1:13:30boil the, in their stomach, bring it into their stomach and boil it.
- 1:13:35And the dance does this, and you'll see them get incredibly hot.
- 1:13:40Wow.
- 1:13:40And if you touch them, they're incredibly hot, but they'll even, they'll try
- 1:13:43to cool themselves in the fire.
- 1:13:46So they'll actually take swallow coals.
- 1:13:48I've seen that many times.
- 1:13:49Or lay in the fire, come up, unburned.
- 1:13:52Very good.
- 1:13:52And then when the womb is boiling, which is very painful in the
- 1:13:57early stages, when they're younger healers, they'll often faint or.
- 1:14:00Sometimes they would say die and have to be brought back.
- 1:14:03But as they get older, they learn how to ride it.
- 1:14:06And then this is when they can not just be in the spirit world and do
- 1:14:10what they need to do, but they can pull things out of people or put
- 1:14:13things into people that are needed.
- 1:14:15So it's clear that these things are as old as humanity because
- 1:14:20the San are, the bushman are the oldest known culture on the planet.
- 1:14:25And so the quest for the altered state of consciousness seems to be
- 1:14:30built into our DNA that to play with consciousness, which is why I think in
- 1:14:37the past we've made, had the arrogance as humans to think we are the only ones
- 1:14:40with consciousness, which now I think we're realizing clearly isn't true.
- 1:14:44But because we're conscious of our consciousness in a certain way,
- 1:14:47if you like, we're self-conscious, we have a great desire to.
- 1:14:53Communicate with it, I think, and through it, and use it as medicine
- 1:14:57and answer dilemmas through it.
- 1:14:59And I as you say, whichever way you do it there is no one
- 1:15:04way but to be on that path.
- 1:15:08Seems to be important for human happiness.
- 1:15:11Yeah.
- 1:15:11Would you not
- 1:15:11Ralf Daab: agree?
- 1:15:12Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:15:12Yes.
- 1:15:13You on certain, like one path to your own path, and then be curious, you
- 1:15:17know, like go there and there, try things out, you know, like what I did
- 1:15:21like, following like some people like a podcast and then say, okay, that's good.
- 1:15:25I, I, you know, now I follow somebody else or read other books
- 1:15:28or do a seminar on meditation or the gong meditation, for example.
- 1:15:33Just try things out, you know, and then you feel like when your body, or when
- 1:15:36your consciousness, or when your spirit like reacts and what, what's best for you.
- 1:15:41So, and like being on a path that's the most beautiful thing.
- 1:15:45It is like, and to, to, to experience new things.
- 1:15:48To meet new people.
- 1:15:49And it is, it is kind of like you, you meet other people, you meet
- 1:15:52people who are also on their path.
- 1:15:54You know, you, you connect very fast.
- 1:15:57And and that's, that's the great thing about you know, being on the.
- 1:16:02On the journey.
- 1:16:03On the path.
- 1:16:03And but as I said in the beginning is you have to let things go, you know?
- 1:16:07That's the other part I I seeing or meeting a lot of people.
- 1:16:10They do a lot of things.
- 1:16:11They, they, they go every, every day or three, four days a week, they go
- 1:16:17to yoga and they do a lot things, but they still in the same environment.
- 1:16:21There's still same jobs.
- 1:16:22They're stressed, you know, they, they, they, you know, of course it's difficult
- 1:16:25to leave everything, but kind of like you have to like, kind of, you know, let
- 1:16:29things go in order to receive new things.
- 1:16:33You have to make room for new things.
- 1:16:35Rupert Isaacson: It seems though that that process is almost built in.
- 1:16:38And I think a lot of people find this rather alarmingly, you know, when they
- 1:16:43first get involved in this type of way of life, things can fall apart very
- 1:16:51fast and that can be very traumatic at first, even though they may, they
- 1:16:55are things that actually you look.
- 1:16:58Back over a couple of years and you go, oh yeah, actually
- 1:17:00I needed to let all that go.
- 1:17:02And I probably would've just clung onto it forever if it hadn't, if I
- 1:17:07hadn't been literally picked up by a pair of forceps and placed over there.
- 1:17:11However painful that was, and I'd say it seems that you've gone
- 1:17:13through something like this rather recently, because when I first met
- 1:17:16you you were, you know, living in vs.
- 1:17:21Barden, which is
- 1:17:23a nice town, it's a wealthy town nice apartment still very much in the
- 1:17:28publishing life, et cetera, et cetera.
- 1:17:33Then you went through something of disruption about six months ago.
- 1:17:40And I remember and, and now you're living in this, in an apartment in this castle.
- 1:17:47Rather, rather romantic in a very, very beautiful part of the countryside in
- 1:17:52Germany that I know where you are and I know how beautiful the nature is there.
- 1:17:56And it's interesting you've been sending me these pictures on WhatsApp of, of the
- 1:18:01nature, and I'm like, ah, he's found it.
- 1:18:03'cause one of the things which I was noticing through your story and they, you
- 1:18:06know, when, whether it was you working for Chen or you as the Persian person
- 1:18:13showing people beauty, the, this is all about human beauty and things that
- 1:18:18were made by humans and you know, Chen also fashion and models and that kind
- 1:18:25of physical human beauty and as well.
- 1:18:28But what I feel is often missing from all of that is nature.
- 1:18:33And of course the greatest beauty, of course, is always nature.
- 1:18:35And that's why we, we react and respond to beauty in the way that we do because
- 1:18:39nature is beautiful and nature is what we're supposed to be surrounded by.
- 1:18:43And people actually, people are very beautiful.
- 1:18:45Inside from doubt.
- 1:18:46We're a very loving species.
- 1:18:47Right.
- 1:18:48You know, it's, it, so it's interesting to me that finally,
- 1:18:51you know, in the last six months, there you are in nature by another.
- 1:18:56Mm-hmm.
- 1:18:56Mm-hmm.
- 1:18:57You know, you, those of you who are watching this on YouTube, you, it looks
- 1:19:01like, well obviously we're, we're, we're talking across by Zoom in Ralph's
- 1:19:04apartment within that castle, but I know what's outside that window and I know
- 1:19:09that you're out in that nature now and you've really simplified, you've sort of
- 1:19:12gone from, you know, home ownership and real estate and all of that stuff now
- 1:19:18to saying, no, no, I'm gonna minimalize and I'm just gonna have this small
- 1:19:23apartment to spend most of my time in nature while still working as a publisher.
- 1:19:27Ralf Daab: Right.
- 1:19:27Rupert Isaacson: You know, it's interesting to me,
- 1:19:29Ralf Daab: and one thing is also like, talking about, you know, when
- 1:19:32I said the, the, the, the salt in the Persia, you know, show the beauty.
- 1:19:36What I realize now, it's not only it was back then or still is sometimes of
- 1:19:42course with the books to show the beauty outside, but it's also like, my purpose
- 1:19:46is also to show the beauty in people.
- 1:19:48Mm-hmm.
- 1:19:48To help people to go on their path to, to develop or show their own beauty.
- 1:19:54And that's also, you know, one thing I'm gonna do in the future to help
- 1:19:58people to show their own beauty because every person is beautiful.
- 1:20:06So, and then how.
- 1:20:09Well, but yeah, with seminars, with you know, I did like, coaching
- 1:20:14as a neuroscience coaching.
- 1:20:15I have like a certificate, whatever you call it, you know, and then
- 1:20:18I did meditation, spiritual, and I'm doing a kundalini practicing.
- 1:20:23So things like put it together, but also my.
- 1:20:27Strength is what I can do really good is like bring people together.
- 1:20:31Mm-hmm.
- 1:20:31So, you know, the funny thing is, like a year ago I was still in Spartan,
- 1:20:35I was in rgo, which is beautiful, you know, the wine area with wines.
- 1:20:40And so, and I was standing there and said like, ah, well this is beautiful.
- 1:20:43This is beautiful and, and good energy for me.
- 1:20:45And it's like I would live in a place like here, like where you can live,
- 1:20:49but also where you can do seminars, you know, like a house or so.
- 1:20:53And now I'm no longer at Beach Spot, but I'm here now and I have, I found a place.
- 1:20:58It's incredible.
- 1:20:59Rupert Isaacson: Can you, can you do seminars now
- 1:21:01Ralf Daab: in Yes.
- 1:21:02This, here they're, they event place, they're weddings are here,
- 1:21:06seminars here, there's a big space terrace outside Nature.
- 1:21:11It is a perfect place for seminars.
- 1:21:13So we can, we start doing like in, in four weeks, we have a seminar here I'm
- 1:21:17organizing, so I bring people here.
- 1:21:19That's, you know, organized things, festivals.
- 1:21:21I wanted to do a festival here, music festival overlooking
- 1:21:24here, the Rhine Valley.
- 1:21:25It's, it's just incredible.
- 1:21:27So can you imagine like a year before, like last year or,
- 1:21:33or it was more than a year.
- 1:21:34I mean, last year was, and I had this vision and now I'm here and I
- 1:21:39can do it, and it's, it's happening.
- 1:21:42So it's not, you know, I had to, had to leave things in v spot and,
- 1:21:47you know, also the relationship.
- 1:21:50But now everything can come and can, you know, organize.
- 1:21:57I'm not looking for a relationship now, but never know.
- 1:21:59But everything is can happen now.
- 1:22:01So.
- 1:22:03And you're still
- 1:22:03Rupert Isaacson: publishing?
- 1:22:04Ralf Daab: Yeah.
- 1:22:05Yeah.
- 1:22:06Rupert Isaacson: So listen, if people want to read your book there you are again.
- 1:22:10Yeah.
- 1:22:10How do they find it?
- 1:22:11Ralf Daab: Well, there's a, there's a website.
- 1:22:13It's called books.buy.
- 1:22:15It's a print on demand website.
- 1:22:16Mm-hmm.
- 1:22:17Website.
- 1:22:17It's actually based, the company's based in Australia, but it's all over the world.
- 1:22:21And they can place order print on demand.
- 1:22:24So it's free shipping worldwide.
- 1:22:27You can place the order, you can order the book and they find a
- 1:22:31printer near you, like someplace.
- 1:22:33Let's say when you order here, maybe in Germany or France, and they ship it to
- 1:22:37you free, free shipping, free of charge.
- 1:22:40It's, I think it's 20.
- 1:22:41And that's in
- 1:22:41Rupert Isaacson: English, obviously.
- 1:22:42That's the English.
- 1:22:42Yeah, of course in English.
- 1:22:44There you are again.
- 1:22:45English book, that book.
- 1:22:46Stop by.
- 1:22:46So people go to book, book start by slash
- 1:22:49Ralf Daab: HHOL.
- 1:22:50You can put it maybe slash HOL living.
- 1:22:54HOL.
- 1:22:54Yeah.
- 1:22:57Rupert Isaacson: Great.
- 1:22:58And then they would look for, there you are again.
- 1:23:01Ralf Daab: Right.
- 1:23:01It's on there.
- 1:23:02You can.
- 1:23:03They can buy it, they free shipping and then they can read.
- 1:23:06So yeah.
- 1:23:07And
- 1:23:07Rupert Isaacson: if people want to reach, reach out to you and want to be,
- 1:23:11you know, well, they, they could send email questions about their own healing
- 1:23:13or wanna be part of your seminars or come visit Yeah, they could contact
- 1:23:17Ralf Daab: me.
- 1:23:17Yeah.
- 1:23:17How do they contact you?
- 1:23:19Well, there's by email's best like ralph@highonliving.com.
- 1:23:24Rupert Isaacson: So R-A-L-P-H Ralph, no FF with an F right in the German way.
- 1:23:28RALF at
- 1:23:31Ralf Daab: Hi.
- 1:23:32Hi.
- 1:23:32On living.com.
- 1:23:34High on
- 1:23:35Rupert Isaacson: living.com.
- 1:23:37Ralph, with an F.
- 1:23:39Ralf Daab: Yeah.
- 1:23:39Rupert Isaacson: High on living.com,
- 1:23:41right?
- 1:23:42Yeah.
- 1:23:42Reach, reach out to Ralph listeners.
- 1:23:44He's, he's, yeah, please do.
- 1:23:45Ralf Daab: Yeah.
- 1:23:46Yeah.
- 1:23:46And come up here like, if you visit Germany or near
- 1:23:50Cologne, you cannot up be here.
- 1:23:51Yeah.
- 1:23:51Hiking.
- 1:23:52It's, it's a beautiful place.
- 1:23:54Rupert Isaacson: Well, I'm gonna, I'm gonna run up the a three.
- 1:23:56Yeah.
- 1:23:57Come, come here.
- 1:23:58Right.
- 1:23:58Take exit bat.
- 1:24:00Ralf Daab: Bat exit.
- 1:24:01Lin.
- 1:24:02You're right here.
- 1:24:02So bad Ho.
- 1:24:03Rupert Isaacson: Yeah, I know exactly where that is.
- 1:24:04We help someone buy a horse from Bad Ho.
- 1:24:07Yeah, it's right here.
- 1:24:07Great horse.
- 1:24:08Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:24:10Ralf Daab: They're up here.
- 1:24:11They're 50 horses up here, so see them in the morning when they come out the stalls
- 1:24:15and like run and run and, and I, yeah.
- 1:24:18Well, maybe we'll do something with
- 1:24:20Rupert Isaacson: horses together then.
- 1:24:21Yeah.
- 1:24:21Yeah.
- 1:24:21It should come.
- 1:24:22That's, it's really wonderful.
- 1:24:23Okay.
- 1:24:25All right, Rael, thank you so much.
- 1:24:27Well, thank you, Rupert.
- 1:24:29It's been a, been a, yeah.
- 1:24:31Wonderful journey.
- 1:24:32Ralf Daab: Yeah.
- 1:24:32Great, great.
- 1:24:35Rupert Isaacson: Yeah.
- 1:24:35So any last words of wisdom before I click off the record?
- 1:24:42Ralf Daab: Last word of wisdom.
- 1:24:43Well, I would say it's all energy.
- 1:24:46It's Albert Einstein.
- 1:24:47It is all energy.
- 1:24:48And that's what I feel now.
- 1:24:50I.
- 1:24:51Going through all these journeys for the last four years is
- 1:24:53basically even with my plan.
- 1:24:55My plan, when you see it here, it was like this tall, basically in, in this button.
- 1:25:00It didn't grow, but it didn't die.
- 1:25:02But here it's growing like fast.
- 1:25:04I went a beautiful, so I know I'm at the right place because
- 1:25:08plant is feeling good, you know?
- 1:25:10Rupert Isaacson: So it's all energy.
- 1:25:12Ralf Daab: Yeah, it's
- 1:25:12Rupert Isaacson: all energy.
- 1:25:15That's right.
- 1:25:15As Nicola Tesla said, also, I think if you want to know the secrets of the
- 1:25:19universe, you have to think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.
- 1:25:24Yeah, exactly.
- 1:25:25And it seems that, well, I guess every electronic device we use goes back to him.
- 1:25:29So Yeah.
- 1:25:31Clearly these guys had, you know, yeah.
- 1:25:36Had something.
- 1:25:37All right, well, all right.
- 1:25:38Parallel universes vertical timelines.
- 1:25:43Medicines to help us radically shift our viewpoints.
- 1:25:46By the way, that, that's something I, I, I wanted just to throw in there.
- 1:25:51I was looking at the neuroscience of of psychotropics and it does seem that
- 1:25:56what happens with people is massively, massively augmented neuron new neural
- 1:26:05pathway development when these happen.
- 1:26:07'cause of course it's also new, similar to what you get with novel movement,
- 1:26:10novel ways of moving, BDNF, brain derived neurotrophic factor, which
- 1:26:15normally you only get through movement.
- 1:26:17It seems that this can be massively boosted with the use of psychotropics.
- 1:26:21And I guess our ancestors must have known this.
- 1:26:24Yeah, of course.
- 1:26:25Yeah.
- 1:26:25Maybe that's that thing of allowing us to see mm-hmm.
- 1:26:28What we can't normally see.
- 1:26:30So there you are again.
- 1:26:32There you go.
- 1:26:33Buy it from books.
- 1:26:33Stop by slash HOL.
- 1:26:37Give Ralph an email at rlf@highonliving.com.
- 1:26:42Yeah, I guess we'll see you on the next looking forward.
- 1:26:45Ralf Daab: Yeah.
- 1:26:47Yeah.
- 1:26:47See you soon.
- 1:26:48Thank you for coming on.

- 1:28:00In the meantime, remember, live free.
- 1:28:05Ride free.
- 1:28:09Welcome back.
- 1:28:10I have my friend Ralph Daab from Krn Cologne in Germany, uh, on today.
- 1:28:18He's a publisher and has made his living his own way, um, in many
- 1:28:26countries in the world, um, and has come to a point where the material has
- 1:28:33sort of given way to the spiritual.
- 1:28:36Um, and he's a man who's very much explored how as a westerner you can
- 1:28:44find your way to the shamanic, to the altered states of consciousness
- 1:28:47that, um, open the window to the more indigenous way of looking at
- 1:28:54things while still being in the West.
- 1:28:56And I think that that's a very useful thing for many of us because
- 1:28:59as those of you listeners who know my background, spending a
- 1:29:03lot of time, for example, in the.
- 1:29:05Kalahari in Africa with hunting and gathering peoples down there, it can
- 1:29:11be almost misleading, um, to think, oh, well, that kind of life, that deeply
- 1:29:21spiritual life, that very connected life, that's something different that
- 1:29:23happens down there in those other places with people who haven't sort of gone
- 1:29:27through the Judeo-Christian thing that we've all gone through, et cetera.
- 1:29:30I can't really do that because I'm up here in the western economy and, you
- 1:29:35know, stuck in that rap race and so on.
- 1:29:37Of course, we all know that's not really true, but I think it's really
- 1:29:40good to draw our attention sometimes to how people doing it right here,
- 1:29:45right now in our culture and, um, particularly, you know, how is that.
- 1:29:50Is that is, you know, can that be related to business?
- 1:29:52Can that be related to how do you make a living when you, when you decide, okay,
- 1:29:57you know, I, I want to begin to explore these other ways of looking at the world,
- 1:30:01but I still have to kind of keep one foot pretty firmly in the, in the here
- 1:30:06and now and the economy and all of that.
- 1:30:08Now do I dance that dance?
- 1:30:09And I think somebody like Ralph, um, has quite a lot of,
- 1:30:13uh, insights for us that way.
- 1:30:15So I thought I'd have him on the show for live free, ride free.
- 1:30:17'cause he's a man who definitely does live free and ride free
- 1:30:19and, uh, we can learn from him.
- 1:30:21So Ralph, thank you for coming on the show.
- 1:30:23Yeah.
- 1:30:24Hi Ruper.
- 1:30:24Thank you for having me.
- 1:30:26It's a great pleasure to be on the shower.
- 1:30:29So do you want to tell listeners a little bit about how we met?
- 1:30:33Because I think those circumstances.
- 1:30:37Are quite helpful to drawing people's attention to sort of
- 1:30:40always keep your eyes open.
- 1:30:41You never quite know who's around the next corner type thing.
- 1:30:46You wanna have a right.
- 1:30:46Um,
- 1:30:47Ralf Daab: yeah, it was, it is a great story.
- 1:30:49I always tell people, um, I was living in, back then, it was like two years
- 1:30:54ago in Germany where we live now.
- 1:30:57Yeah.
- 1:30:57We born in Germany.
- 1:30:58So I was walking the dock, you know, up from the hill and then, um, you know,
- 1:31:02passed by a, a horse place basically.
- 1:31:05And I was talking to Leon, your wife first, and then the dogs started playing.
- 1:31:11And then, so we started talking and so, oh, where are you from?
- 1:31:14What are you doing?
- 1:31:14And then, uh, I said like, you know, and then Leanna said, well, that
- 1:31:18you guys lived in, in the US in Texas, and then you moved back here.
- 1:31:22And I said, I, I lived in New York for some years and I also.
- 1:31:26Was in Texas many times.
- 1:31:28And then, you know, I'm a publisher.
- 1:31:29And I'm publisher.
- 1:31:30And then he said, oh, my husband Rupert, he's also like, he, he's an author.
- 1:31:34He published books, New York Times bestseller books.
- 1:31:36So, and then you walked up and then we met and we just connected right
- 1:31:41away, you know, and then we started talking and, you know, things like,
- 1:31:44uh, it was, um, incredible because, uh, yeah, it was, it's, it's no
- 1:31:50Rupert Isaacson: coincidence.
- 1:31:50It was like, uh, well, what was interesting to me about that.
- 1:31:55First meeting, um, and you gotta just picture listeners,
- 1:31:59you know, I'm picking poo.
- 1:32:01That's what we always do every morning.
- 1:32:02Yeah.
- 1:32:02Right.
- 1:32:02With the horses and, but people walk by, there's a public footpath that
- 1:32:05goes, you know, past the, the, the sort of main area where the horses are.
- 1:32:09'cause they all live outside and you know, people walk their dogs.
- 1:32:12You sometimes say hi, whatever.
- 1:32:15Um, but relatively few people actually stop and say hi.
- 1:32:18Um, you know, it's, it's Germany after.
- 1:32:21So it's like, first thing is, well that's kind of unusual.
- 1:32:23Look, here's a bloke who's actually kind of cheerful and, you know, um, friendly.
- 1:32:29Um, and then, um, but very quickly the conversation went to,
- 1:32:34well, you know, what do you do?
- 1:32:35Okay, I'm publisher, I'm a writer.
- 1:32:36Interesting, interesting.
- 1:32:37Similar worlds.
- 1:32:39And then of course I told you a little bit about what I publish books on.
- 1:32:44And then you say, oh, that's interesting because, you know,
- 1:32:46I do these journeys, right?
- 1:32:49And I said, oh, what kind of journeys?
- 1:32:51And you said, well, like MDMA.
- 1:32:54Right.
- 1:32:54And what was interesting to me about that was, um, a lot of my friends and
- 1:33:02contemporaries, particularly in the USA in the last, I'd say five years, have
- 1:33:08begun to, uh, experiment with looking at altered states of consciousness through
- 1:33:15journeys with MDMA, which some people call ecstasy, but it's not the ecstasy,
- 1:33:19of course, that you buy in a nightclub.
- 1:33:21It's the pure form that used to be prescribed, uh, way back in the day
- 1:33:26by psychologists and psychiatrists who warring married couples because it
- 1:33:31made them listen to each other nicely.
- 1:33:33Um, brings out the sort of compassion in people and, um, si uh, psilocybin,
- 1:33:38which is of course, um, mushrooms.
- 1:33:40And, um, this has been a growing field, um, among.
- 1:33:47I think many people in the kind of middle class of the west over the last
- 1:33:54decade or so, because I think there has been this growing awareness that
- 1:33:59the material life needs to be balanced with the spiritual, but the church no
- 1:34:04longer offers that never really did.
- 1:34:06I mean, mystic Christianity can, but not the church, not witch
- 1:34:10burning and Spanish inquisition.
- 1:34:12Um, and so where to look, where to look.
- 1:34:16And so of course people began to look naturally to the Eastern philosophies
- 1:34:21because with the British Empire, that kind of really opened up that
- 1:34:25route from India through England and then out to the rest of the West.
- 1:34:29Um, and that sort of, those meditations and Buddhism and
- 1:34:33Hinduism and stuff like that began to have a big influence on Western
- 1:34:39society, but it was still perceived as very much a thing from outside.
- 1:34:43I think from over there.
- 1:34:44People like me, of course, going down and spending time with a lot of
- 1:34:47indigenous folk, um, bringing that back.
- 1:34:50But again, that's still being, well, that's something other,
- 1:34:52that's something over there.
- 1:34:53That's not us.
- 1:34:54That's not where we are.
- 1:34:55How do we, and so I think it's very logical that people like you, Ralph
- 1:35:00and other friends of mine, began to look to the use of psychotropics.
- 1:35:06Um, in the same way that of course people are undergoing healing ceremonies in,
- 1:35:12you know, the Amazon or areas where, or Siberia, areas where, um, native
- 1:35:19America, where psychotropic plants grow and have always been used for healing.
- 1:35:27Um, it's a very logical thing and I think there's a reach back even through
- 1:35:30the European past there, because certainly, um, in the pre-Christian
- 1:35:36era, people used fly aic mushroom.
- 1:35:39They used psilocybin, what we would call magic mushrooms and ver you know,
- 1:35:43datura, um, nightshade, um, certain things with hemlock or to achieve altered
- 1:35:49state of consciousness in order to, um, you know, connect with the divine.
- 1:35:53And that of course was rooted out of our culture by the church.
- 1:35:57So there you are, and we're having that conversation and I'm thinking, well, this
- 1:36:01is sort of interesting on the Shamanic.
- 1:36:03Um, and then when I began to do this uh, uh, podcast, I thought, well, actually
- 1:36:10Ralph would be a very good guy to get on this show because he is really
- 1:36:14an entrepreneur and you run your own publishing stuff, but you've also, you
- 1:36:18know, helped larger publishing companies.
- 1:36:21And that's something, but you, you also now thread this very spiritual path.
- 1:36:25That's Ry ride free.
- 1:36:27Sort of in a nutshell, would you take us through your journey a little bit,
- 1:36:32where you began as a boy in corn growing up, sort of, you know, in the seventies
- 1:36:39and eighties in that, you know, post-war booming economy, having fun, it takes
- 1:36:45you off to other parts of the world, just and then how you get into publishing.
- 1:36:50Just get, take us through that early stage in your life, how, how you
- 1:36:52get going on your live free, ride free, um, sort of initial, yeah.
- 1:36:57Okay.
- 1:36:58Yeah,
- 1:36:59Ralf Daab: I
- 1:36:59Rupert Isaacson: did
- 1:36:59Ralf Daab: that.
- 1:36:59Um, so I grew up in Cologne and, um,
- 1:37:02Rupert Isaacson: you know, I was, um, which is a bit of a party town, right?
- 1:37:06It's a
- 1:37:06Ralf Daab: fun town.
- 1:37:06Well, it's a carnival, you know, the people are very open-minded and friendly.
- 1:37:10You know, my, my parents, my mother had a, a restaurant, you know, but a lot
- 1:37:14of people always came like every day.
- 1:37:16So it was always, yeah, I grew up in like a, in, uh, yeah, a good, uh.
- 1:37:21Environment, I would say, you know, so, and I played soccer,
- 1:37:24football, you know, when I was young.
- 1:37:26And uh, I was pretty good.
- 1:37:27So I played for the s fone, uh, in the junior.
- 1:37:30What is, just tell us, oh, that's, SCON is one of the best
- 1:37:34club football club in the world.
- 1:37:36We just came up, you went up to, did you play Football Con?
- 1:37:39Rupert Isaacson: Yeah, right.
- 1:37:40But in the junior team, you know, so for some years
- 1:37:43Ralf Daab: and that was a
- 1:37:43Rupert Isaacson: great time.
- 1:37:44That's something that's like playing for Arsenal or, or Tottenham.
- 1:37:46Yeah, yeah,
- 1:37:46Ralf Daab: yeah, exactly.
- 1:37:47Exactly.
- 1:37:47Yeah.
- 1:37:47So that was a great time when it was 14 years old, 15 years, 16,
- 1:37:51you know, so playing, like we, we played tournaments in, in, in Paris,
- 1:37:55in, in Brussels, in, in Zurich or, you know, so it was always good.
- 1:37:59Like I had go to the director of the school and said like, I have to go for,
- 1:38:04you know, a week for tournament, whatever.
- 1:38:06So it was a good time.
- 1:38:07I was, um, and then, um, I was, you know, I was obviously going to
- 1:38:11school and then I started university and, uh, but I knew right away
- 1:38:15from be, it's not really what I.
- 1:38:17Whatever you want to do.
- 1:38:18Like, uh, so I would start, like my mom, I also did, um, back then,
- 1:38:24so I would start like a friend, he was importing like t-shirts from
- 1:38:27California, like big Wednesdays.
- 1:38:29So I was like, oh, they cool t-shirts, exert shirts, you know, I would start
- 1:38:31selling them out of the car, you know, in the school and so and so on.
- 1:38:35And then other things like a hot tuna from Australia, like a
- 1:38:38brand, like really cool brand.
- 1:38:40Uh, so, and I said, let's open up a store.
- 1:38:42Let's, so like when I was 22, I opened my first, uh, fashion store in Cologne.
- 1:38:48And then, um, you know, coincidence, somebody walked in and said like, yeah,
- 1:38:52I need like, you know, 20 jackets.
- 1:38:54And it turned out, turns out that he was from EMI, Electrola from
- 1:38:57the record company, and it was for Tina Turner's concert, uh, like
- 1:39:01tour, you know, so it was got into the merchandise business for that.
- 1:39:06So I was always like doing things, you know, like, um, um, and then,
- 1:39:11uh, a friend of mine, I was in New York, first time in 1991.
- 1:39:15What sent you to New York?
- 1:39:17Just pleasure.
- 1:39:18It was just Okay.
- 1:39:19It was before business.
- 1:39:20Yeah.
- 1:39:20Before business was like with a friend that went to New York for
- 1:39:23the first time and another friend, he was also in New York and he was
- 1:39:26working for hin for the publisher.
- 1:39:29Tian
- 1:39:29Rupert Isaacson: is a very famous, uh, German publishing house.
- 1:39:31Right.
- 1:39:32Basic Cologne.
- 1:39:33But now the world, you know, biggest art book publisher in the world.
- 1:39:36Yeah.
- 1:39:36You've, you, you've seen them listeners, even if you don't know them, they're
- 1:39:40these amazing German art and fashion.
- 1:39:43Right.
- 1:39:44Photographic.
- 1:39:44They have
- 1:39:45Ralf Daab: stores all over.
- 1:39:46Yeah, the world basically.
- 1:39:47So back then in the nineties, and then, then, then he said like, ah, you know,
- 1:39:50we are looking for somebody who could do like sales and marketing in the us.
- 1:39:53Uh, are you interested?
- 1:39:54And I said, well, yes, of course.
- 1:39:56You know.
- 1:39:57So I started working for Tchen as a sales manager for the US and um, like first
- 1:40:02year, two years traveling from Cologne to the US like, you know, visiting, like,
- 1:40:06I don't know, first trip was 20 cities in like four weeks, you know, every day.
- 1:40:10Another city.
- 1:40:10So it was a great time.
- 1:40:12And then I moved to New York in 1995, you know, and, um, moved there.
- 1:40:17It was just for, for a year.
- 1:40:19And then I stayed there total of like almost six years.
- 1:40:23So setting up the office there and then, uh, all sales and
- 1:40:26marketing, that was a great time.
- 1:40:28It was like my early thirties.
- 1:40:29So, um, yeah.
- 1:40:31So it was, that's how I got into publishing, international publishing also.
- 1:40:36And then I moved back and my son Lucas was born in New York.
- 1:40:40And then, um.
- 1:40:41We decided to go back to Cologne, and then I started my, of working for
- 1:40:45another publisher for three years.
- 1:40:47You know, um, I was responsible for setting up a program, so I
- 1:40:50developed the whole, the book program and international distribution.
- 1:40:55So, and then I decided to, uh, start my own publishing house in 2003.
- 1:41:02And, um, yeah, so then we traveled a lot, you know, all over the place, like Asia
- 1:41:07lots, uh, then us a lot, of course Europe.
- 1:41:11And, um, yeah, so that was, uh, I was always in, in things
- 1:41:15like, you know, what can you do?
- 1:41:17Like, uh, develop new things.
- 1:41:19I have so many ideas and, and, and, uh.
- 1:41:22So, and then I, you know, got to a point where, uh, publishing in
- 1:41:27general was, became difficult.
- 1:41:29Uh, had problems with the banks, the investors and the whole thing.
- 1:41:32And then, so at the end, uh, I had to close the company, basically file for
- 1:41:37chapter 11, which is like insolvency.
- 1:41:39And, um, yeah, it was a really tough time.
- 1:41:43And then the marriage ended, uh, I was kinda lost, you know, that was
- 1:41:48like, uh, 2000, where were we now?
- 1:41:50Like, uh, uh, 64, 15, 16 round then, so about eight, nine years ago.
- 1:41:58And so I was kind of lost and I said like, what can you do?
- 1:42:00Like my life, you know, so, and I, yeah, I did like a photo exhibition, for example.
- 1:42:08I had took some photos.
- 1:42:09I did like an exhibition, and then I, I, I decided like, oh,
- 1:42:13let's go back into publishing.
- 1:42:14And, uh, so I started to, uh, to create books again.
- 1:42:19But at the same time, I was always like, uh, looking for new things.
- 1:42:23But, uh, so I, I got into the, um, meditation thing, so I was reading books,
- 1:42:31listening to podcasts about meditation or why, why did you get into meditation?
- 1:42:34Studying?
- 1:42:35Yeah, because, yeah, because I was like, uh, kind of felt like I, I needed
- 1:42:40to do something else, you know, like going out of like, like, you know, this
- 1:42:44business world that the business thing or the life of like, you know, um.
- 1:42:50Just traveling around and being like stressed and everything.
- 1:42:53So, and then I started also doing sports again, and, uh, also mindfulness things.
- 1:42:59You know, had you always
- 1:43:00Rupert Isaacson: kind of in the back of your mind thought,
- 1:43:02or that meditation thing?
- 1:43:04I kind of want to get into that, but I'll, I'll do that later, you know, or
- 1:43:08was it more sudden thing a more new thing?
- 1:43:10No, no, it was always there, kind of, you know,
- 1:43:13Ralf Daab: like, uh, you know, but, uh, it, it wasn't like, like every
- 1:43:17day, but, um, I felt like, you know, I was at a point where I was, you
- 1:43:22know, like really lost and it's the only thing I could, could help me.
- 1:43:25Like, I could only help myself, you know?
- 1:43:27So, and I, uh, and it was good.
- 1:43:30So I, you know, did a love of sports again running and, um,
- 1:43:34so I felt a little better.
- 1:43:35And uh, and then it got to a point, like I was, you know, I talked to a
- 1:43:38friend and then he told me about a seminar he went to, and he said like it
- 1:43:43was the best thing he did in his life.
- 1:43:45And then he told me everything about it.
- 1:43:46And then.
- 1:43:48I said, yeah, I wanna do this.
- 1:43:49And that's how I got into my first journey of the MD May.
- 1:43:53Um, yeah, that was, I
- 1:43:56Rupert Isaacson: presume because you'd been living in New York, you know, you'd,
- 1:43:59um, been in fashion, you'd been in sport, you'd been in publishing, recreational
- 1:44:05drug use must have been something with which you were quite familiar.
- 1:44:09I mean, I know I said No, not really.
- 1:44:11No, no,
- 1:44:11Ralf Daab: no, no.
- 1:44:12Not really.
- 1:44:12Rupert Isaacson: No.
- 1:44:13No.
- 1:44:14Um, so when, okay, because I remember for example, when I was in my
- 1:44:22earliest twenties, um, this is back like 8,000 years ago, um, I
- 1:44:27think before the invention of the wheel, um, I, um, tried MDMA, um.
- 1:44:38At that point, it was still very pure.
- 1:44:41It was before techno, before the raves, before all of that took off.
- 1:44:45And so before it became a mass industry, that people then began to adulterate
- 1:44:48it with speed and, you know, awful.
- 1:44:51And so I, I tried it a few times in those early years and then very quickly gave
- 1:44:56it up because it, it very quickly became adulterated with all sorts of stuff.
- 1:45:01And you couldn't, at least at that stage in my life, access that pure form anymore.
- 1:45:07But I do remember, um, breaking up with my first girlfriend.
- 1:45:14Basically she was dumping me.
- 1:45:15Um, while we both were on MDMA, which of course, as many listeners
- 1:45:22may know, MDMA used to be prescribed by marriage counselors.
- 1:45:29Before it was made illegal because it helped people to listen to
- 1:45:33each other really compassionately and to tell the truth.
- 1:45:36Right.
- 1:45:36And so we broke up, you know, so kindly with each other, even
- 1:45:41though my heart was broken.
- 1:45:43And, uh, we remained friends, we're friends to this day.
- 1:45:45It's very interesting.
- 1:45:46Um, so, you know, when you told me about you doing these MDM majors,
- 1:45:53I immediately made that assumption.
- 1:45:54Oh, well he must have had, you know, some sort of, uh, previous history
- 1:45:59with this, but you said No, not at all.
- 1:46:00So this being something quite new for you, right.
- 1:46:05What made you think Yeah.
- 1:46:06Okay.
- 1:46:06Well, that, that might be something then,
- 1:46:09Ralf Daab: because a friend told me that what, what, you know, what he
- 1:46:12experienced and, uh, told me that it's saved, that it's, you know, you know.
- 1:46:17Uh, so I said like, okay, because I was really not really into drugs, you know, I
- 1:46:22had joined, so, you know, of course then an alcohol, you know, wine and, and so
- 1:46:25on, but not, not no drugs, you know, I was not never, I always said like, you know,
- 1:46:30I can be, uh, fun without drugs, you know?
- 1:46:32Mm-hmm.
- 1:46:32So, um, but in this case I was like looking into this more the, as this
- 1:46:38therapy than just like having fun with drugs or so, you know, and, uh, trusting
- 1:46:43my friend and said like, oh, let's try it.
- 1:46:45And then, um, and it was, uh, tell everybody it was the best thing
- 1:46:49I did in my life, you know, so
- 1:46:52Rupert Isaacson: well.
- 1:46:52Right.
- 1:46:53You know, often, um, you know, when people say, for example, go down to
- 1:46:56the Amazon looking for healing, they'll often find themselves, uh, with a ero,
- 1:47:02you know, a, a healer doing ayahuasca.
- 1:47:04Um, yeah.
- 1:47:05Which of course is a very, very strong hallucinogen.
- 1:47:07Um.
- 1:47:08But many people will report I, yes.
- 1:47:11What I needed was a kind of radical way to break through an out of the worldview
- 1:47:20that has been to some I've been stuck in.
- 1:47:24And I needed kind of a radical change of environment, both physically
- 1:47:28and mentally, emotionally, in order to get this other perspective.
- 1:47:33Otherwise, I, I sort of couldn't break out of the, the rut that I was in.
- 1:47:37Do you feel that that's what happened to you?
- 1:47:40Yeah.
- 1:47:42Ralf Daab: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:47:43But it's also like after like the first time, it's like, it's like four years ago.
- 1:47:47So, um, and it's a whole process, you know, I realized, you know, after
- 1:47:50four years I did like many times different ways, you know, different
- 1:47:53locations, you know, like I ended up like, you know, some places and.
- 1:47:58Um, and also tried other things, you know, with mushrooms and, and so on.
- 1:48:03And now after four years, I realize it's, it's not just the one, one journey,
- 1:48:08you know, or, you know, even the, the weekend or so, it's a whole process.
- 1:48:13It's like it changed.
- 1:48:14That transformation is going on like forever, you know?
- 1:48:16So it's like, but you, the thing is, like, you, you, I learned to
- 1:48:22let things go, you know, like to now during these journeys, to, to look
- 1:48:27at things, to, to, uh, have sometimes the same feeling again about things.
- 1:48:32Even when I was a child, I, I could look at this, say,
- 1:48:35oh yeah, that was not so bad.
- 1:48:37Or that was so, and, and, and, and let go.
- 1:48:40And, and now I realize that, that it's just part, it's just one part of it.
- 1:48:45You know?
- 1:48:45It's not like you do one journey MDMA or whatever it is, you know,
- 1:48:49like, and, oh, you're healed now.
- 1:48:50Oh, you changed my life now.
- 1:48:51No, no, it's like.
- 1:48:53To change your life or, you know, to go to, through a real transformation.
- 1:48:58It's, it's, it's takes weeks and years and, and, and goes on, you know, like, no
- 1:49:02Rupert Isaacson: doubt.
- 1:49:03But you need that initial experience.
- 1:49:04Initial experience to sort of
- 1:49:06Ralf Daab: help leapfrog into that.
- 1:49:08Yes, exactly.
- 1:49:09And the initial experience is like to, to to, to become like
- 1:49:14in different consciousness, you know, different perspectives.
- 1:49:18And this is what I never had experienced before without that
- 1:49:22drug, you know, without MDMA, uh, or without mushrooms, whatever.
- 1:49:27But MDA is more like, uh, for me at least, it was like to, uh.
- 1:49:33To see things from a different perspective.
- 1:49:35Yeah.
- 1:49:36Uh, every ev every time like really clear.
- 1:49:39It's not like you're a, you're like sleeping or, so I was always
- 1:49:43clear and I was, I've experienced stories, really stories.
- 1:49:48I was in those stories in like 500 years ago in Persia.
- 1:49:51I was in, in the universe.
- 1:49:53I was an astronaut.
- 1:49:54I was, and my soul was up there in, in the Big bang or whatever it is,
- 1:49:58you know, like, and I said like, what?
- 1:50:00It was such great stories and experiences and um, that changed my view of myself
- 1:50:09and my surrounding my people around me.
- 1:50:12So it's like all it is, it's like a kind of heart opener.
- 1:50:15And then when you go that path like I did, um, you'll see
- 1:50:21that, that your life change.
- 1:50:24But it's like not, I.
- 1:50:27You know, if you, you stay in your environment, if you stay
- 1:50:30in your structure, you, you don't change really a lot.
- 1:50:33So you have to let go.
- 1:50:35And you have to realize, and you have to say, okay, if I, if a relationship
- 1:50:39ends now, yeah, maybe it has to end now because without ending the
- 1:50:44end of the relationship, you can cannot experience something new or
- 1:50:47you move to a new place, you know, and it's all part of the journey.
- 1:50:51Um, and that's, that's it all started four years ago with the MDMA and I,
- 1:50:56I did many, many trips, many, uh, and I still do, uh, it's kind of like
- 1:51:02sometimes I feel I don't need it anymore.
- 1:51:04'cause, uh, it's like what your neuroscience would say, tell you,
- 1:51:08it is like the neuro, they can adjust, uh, you know, things.
- 1:51:11Um, and then you, you can get the same feeling or you can, I can change
- 1:51:15my perspective now without taking anything because my neuron, they, they
- 1:51:21experience, they can, they can, uh.
- 1:51:23They can be in that same state.
- 1:51:25So, and um, yeah, so for me it was like, it's a, it's a game changer.
- 1:51:32Rupert Isaacson: It's, it's a life changer.
- 1:51:33And, uh, in those early days when you were first taking these journeys, and I'm
- 1:51:38gonna ask you to describe, you know, some of the journeys that stand out the most
- 1:51:44and the insights you got from them, but in those early days when you were first
- 1:51:47beginning with it, did you find it very difficult then to reintegrate yourself
- 1:51:50back into, if you like, ordinary life, making a living business, picking up the
- 1:51:55phone to people, striking deals, whatever?
- 1:51:57Or did you actually find that?
- 1:51:59No, it was actually much more of an effortless flow.
- 1:52:03The first journeys
- 1:52:04Ralf Daab: I, I remember was like, I, I was telling everybody now how great
- 1:52:07it is, you know, it was like friends and family, and people are like, some
- 1:52:11people on the street maybe say like, I, you know, this is so fantastic.
- 1:52:15Everybody should do it, and everybody has to like, go on
- 1:52:18trips and it's change everything.
- 1:52:20So then I realized you, you cannot talk to everybody about it.
- 1:52:23You know, some people said, Hey, he's crazy, what is he doing?
- 1:52:25And uh, um, and I said like, yeah, okay, um, you shouldn't
- 1:52:30talk to everybody about it.
- 1:52:32Uh, just to people who are really interested.
- 1:52:34And I said, like, you know, you figure out, you know, who's
- 1:52:37really interested and who's not.
- 1:52:39But yeah.
- 1:52:40And then I, um, got to the point and said like, okay, what I'm doing
- 1:52:44now if I continue this journey is I realize myself that I'm changing Now.
- 1:52:48I, you know, I, I, I talk differently.
- 1:52:51I feel differently.
- 1:52:52So if I, if I want to stay in my old world, I have to stop
- 1:52:56now because it doesn't work.
- 1:52:59Or I, I say, okay.
- 1:53:02That's my new path.
- 1:53:04I go that path no matter what.
- 1:53:09And I do, and I did, and I still do.
- 1:53:11And then, um, you realize that you don't have to talk about anymore.
- 1:53:15It just comes.
- 1:53:16People just come or they don't, you know?
- 1:53:18And, and the things change.
- 1:53:22And also in terms of business, it opened up new paths as well.
- 1:53:28So I'm doing, I'm, my conversations now with, with architects or interior
- 1:53:32designers is different now and, and the business is growing actually.
- 1:53:36But those are the books you're doing now, right?
- 1:53:37The, your higher series,
- 1:53:39Rupert Isaacson: it's about architecture.
- 1:53:40You'll do the
- 1:53:40Ralf Daab: architecture and interior books and the business
- 1:53:43actually growing like this year.
- 1:53:44And it's like, it's amazing.
- 1:53:46You know, it's like the more I open up, the more people I attract to, to publish
- 1:53:51with me, to publish their work with me.
- 1:53:53Plus I've written my own book.
- 1:53:56About the stories.
- 1:53:57Uh, a little book I published myself, uh, under my new labor high on
- 1:54:02living, um, came out like in February and then it sounded quite good.
- 1:54:07And, uh, tell us about the book.
- 1:54:09What is it?
- 1:54:09What's it called?
- 1:54:10Yeah, I wrote the stories like, um, the stories I experienced on this
- 1:54:13journeys, you know, I wrote them down.
- 1:54:15This is like 32 episodes in the book.
- 1:54:17They're short episodes, you know, so, um, and it's, yeah, you could read
- 1:54:22it and get really good responses from people say, okay, this is really cool.
- 1:54:26I could see myself in this same story, you know, like up in the universe or.
- 1:54:32Uh, I journey to myself in my own self, in my own nothing.
- 1:54:37You know, when you on your own atom, there's nothing there.
- 1:54:40But then I experienced the most energy ever I experienced.
- 1:54:44So, and it opened up everything and started to love myself.
- 1:54:48Self-love is basically, I experienced on one of the journeys, I was myself
- 1:54:52saying, wow, this is, this is love.
- 1:54:55This is, I didn't know what love is before love.
- 1:54:58I thought of this could live, love my wife or my, my parents, my son, but this
- 1:55:04kind of love I, I didn't know before.
- 1:55:07So, um, I wrote this little book and um, actually it was like when I moved here to
- 1:55:13Opco, uh, two days, two days later, I was like posting a video on Instagram saying,
- 1:55:18uh, I'm living up here now in the nature.
- 1:55:21And I got like, from my.
- 1:55:22Former, um, employee Laura.
- 1:55:25She used to work for me in, in Cologne like 12, 13 years ago.
- 1:55:29She's like, she wrote on Instagram like, what are you doing there?
- 1:55:32She said like, well, I live here now.
- 1:55:33Well, she said, like, I live in like right here in the village,
- 1:55:36like for 10 years, so let's meet.
- 1:55:38And her husband was also involved in the, in uncle in, uh, in the reading day,
- 1:55:43like where authors came to do readings.
- 1:55:46And so he took me into the program.
- 1:55:47So I was there officially in Hong Kong and did two readings that day.
- 1:55:52It was fun, you know, people came and, uh, listened to my, my Stories
- 1:55:58and tell us the name of the book.
- 1:56:00The book is named Dbia.
- 1:56:02There you are again.
- 1:56:03Dbi You again.
- 1:56:04Uh, 32 episodes.
- 1:56:07Um, yeah, soul Journey, uh, of Zaza and Ze episode.
- 1:56:14That's the Journey.
- 1:56:15Subtitle.
- 1:56:16Um, and Zaza Ze Being Journey.
- 1:56:19Right.
- 1:56:21And it's, it's a nice little book and yeah, people like it.
- 1:56:24And, uh, so that's the basic, and, and through that book I got, um, I, I'm
- 1:56:30getting now, uh, three more authors.
- 1:56:32Like I one author in, in Hedburg now, like Christine, she wrote
- 1:56:35a book about her journey.
- 1:56:37Like one year she traveled with her family around the world.
- 1:56:40She, she wrote really nice books.
- 1:56:41So that's, I'm gonna publish that book under high on Living and, and others.
- 1:56:46So then through that, the new publishing part, um, we call it High on Journey, high
- 1:56:53on Living, not On Journey, high on Living, uh, is a new, um, division kind of buddy.
- 1:56:59Where I'm gonna publish the, the stories of people with their want to, you
- 1:57:05know, write their book about their own story and bring it out to the world.
- 1:57:09And it's, it's really cool so that, you know, so my, my past, my journeys,
- 1:57:14I got into a new business basically.
- 1:57:17And, uh, it's really interesting to see like how people are attracted to that.
- 1:57:22You know, it's also part of like, I think the future where people think
- 1:57:25about more, uh, how you run a business and what kind of business, uh, is good.
- 1:57:31So, um, I remember like a year ago I posted something on LinkedIn saying,
- 1:57:35you know, I'm, I'm going, like, the spiritual entrepreneurship is the new
- 1:57:39thing, kind of, you know, you have social entrepreneurship where you've got the
- 1:57:44sustainability and all that kind of stuff, but the spiritual entrepreneurship
- 1:57:47is something, it's in the future, like, especially the young generations looking
- 1:57:52to, to start is basically what, what.
- 1:57:55Kind of product or service you can do for, for everybody that it's not like,
- 1:58:00of course you run a business and you should make money with it, you know?
- 1:58:03So it's not like, uh, but in a different way.
- 1:58:06It's not like you make money no matter what, and you, uh, you know,
- 1:58:10keep it all for yourself, you know, like we have nowadays with all the,
- 1:58:14the Jeff Basos and things, you know, I have like super yachts and so no,
- 1:58:18that's not spiritual entrepreneurship.
- 1:58:20It is like for, for everybody.
- 1:58:22And, and that's, that's the kind of thing I, I, I'm, I'm looking into,
- 1:58:26and that's, uh, that's how I want to start or build up my new publishing
- 1:58:30division also as a community.
- 1:58:33And it's all part, it's all together now.
- 1:58:35And like, started with my first MD major like four years ago.
- 1:58:39It's incredible.
- 1:58:40But what happened since, ever since, you know, so, uh, and
- 1:58:44it's, it goes on, you know?
- 1:58:45So.
- 1:58:45So
- 1:58:46Rupert Isaacson: let's talk about some of those journeys.
- 1:58:47Um, tell us about the first journey you did, and then I want you to give us.
- 1:58:52Some windows on some of those other journeys.
- 1:58:55Let's start with your first journey four years ago.
- 1:58:58Well, the first journey was like, um, I
- 1:59:01Ralf Daab: was, you know, you, you put the music on you basically, you take
- 1:59:05it and then it takes like half an hour.
- 1:59:07So, and then you put the music on.
- 1:59:09You're lying down.
- 1:59:10You lying down on the mattress in a quiet room.
- 1:59:12Quiet room.
- 1:59:13Yeah.
- 1:59:13Someone is there with you to look after you a bit.
- 1:59:16Yeah.
- 1:59:16Right, right.
- 1:59:17It, it's better like setting settings.
- 1:59:19Very important.
- 1:59:20Someone with not alone experience.
- 1:59:21Alone with experience.
- 1:59:22And you can have also like conversations, you know, during your, mm-hmm.
- 1:59:25Your, your.
- 1:59:27Journey.
- 1:59:27So I was like looking out the window and I saw like birds flying
- 1:59:31and said like, oh, that's fun.
- 1:59:32You know, let's fly with birds, you know?
- 1:59:34So, and I really, my soul left my body and I went up to the, and fly, you
- 1:59:38know, played with the, with the birds.
- 1:59:40And then I suddenly went further up through the clouds, through the, uh, sky.
- 1:59:45And I was up in, in the universe in the, so, and then I saw the earth from above.
- 1:59:51And, uh, how beautiful this be.
- 1:59:54Blue planet was standing, like, looked like standing still.
- 1:59:58I was really like, it, it, it wasn't like looking a picture, it was like I
- 2:00:02was there, my soul was up there, and I looked at this beautiful planet.
- 2:00:07I said like, oh yeah, my God, this is so beautiful.
- 2:00:09And what are, what are we doing here?
- 2:00:10And then, and then suddenly I had like a drag kind of like,
- 2:00:13uh, it was so, so, so fast.
- 2:00:15I said, what the, the, the earth doesn't stand still.
- 2:00:18It, it, it turns like in one day.
- 2:00:21We, we have speed of 1,600 kilometers per hour.
- 2:00:24We, we moving, but we don't feel it, you know?
- 2:00:27So, and the, the, the earth is moving around the sun with the speed
- 2:00:32of 100,000 kilometers per hour.
- 2:00:36And it's incredible.
- 2:00:36Like, and you know what?
- 2:00:38And you don't feel it, but when you, and then I realized, hey,
- 2:00:42this is so, this is amazing.
- 2:00:45But it's also like, uh, so it, it changed my perspective of
- 2:00:49like, being on that planet.
- 2:00:51You know what I mean?
- 2:00:51It's like seeing from outside and, and feeling the, the speed and almost
- 2:00:57felt like, you know, I'm nothing.
- 2:00:58I'm, I'm, I'm, and, and how f how big the universe is and how
- 2:01:02f everything is so creative.
- 2:01:04So I said like, who am I?
- 2:01:07You know, what am I doing here?
- 2:01:09Why we have wars on earth?
- 2:01:11Why we have so crazy people, like, you know, so that, that
- 2:01:15first journey changed my.
- 2:01:17Perspective of everything myself, the earth, the universe.
- 2:01:22And then, then I got back into my body and I was laying there.
- 2:01:26I said like, wow, this was incredible.
- 2:01:29This was, I've never had this experience before.
- 2:01:32And I was really, it felt like, you know, not looking TV or on the picture.
- 2:01:37It was like my soul was up there.
- 2:01:39And maybe it was, I think it was because maybe my soul was up there
- 2:01:42in form alive or whatever, you know?
- 2:01:44So, and that's a difference of, you know, maybe just meditation or being
- 2:01:49like in a different consciousness.
- 2:01:52Rupert Isaacson: Well, I think consciousness is the, is the word there.
- 2:01:56Um, you know, listening to the current
- 2:02:02conversations that are going on around quantum, um, explorations from
- 2:02:07physicists, it seems that the people who were dubbed crazy, like, um, uh.
- 2:02:17Penrose back in, in, in the uk.
- 2:02:21He was in his nineties.
- 2:02:22Now he, even though he was a, a Nobel laureate, even though he, uh, made many,
- 2:02:28many, um, contributions to mainstream science that he was celebrated for
- 2:02:34when he came up with the idea that perhaps the universe is conscious,
- 2:02:38perhaps physics, the answers in in classical physics are just not enough.
- 2:02:44Um, and that they need to interact with fields of consciousness that
- 2:02:52seem to be expressed through quantum.
- 2:02:55He was just, you know, laughed out of town.
- 2:02:57And then you had people like, uh, Rupert Shel, Drake, another renowned physicist
- 2:03:02in the uk basically saying the same thing, saying, no, I think, you know,
- 2:03:06from a scientific point of view, the only explanation is that we're dealing
- 2:03:09with a conscious universe and that everything is conscious and that cells
- 2:03:12a conscious, and consciousness is not, not a, not a product of the human brain.
- 2:03:17That the human brain comes from consciousness.
- 2:03:20Um, you know, and that old sort of Judeo-Christian idea of from
- 2:03:27Descartes in the 17th century, I think therefore I am right.
- 2:03:31Um, and so therefore only humans, you know, have spirituality,
- 2:03:35emotion, soul, blah, blah, blah.
- 2:03:36And of course this was taken up by the church with great alacrity 'cause
- 2:03:40it meant one could get away with doing all sorts of horrible things.
- 2:03:42'cause then you could also have a hierarchy of, within humans, you know,
- 2:03:46who, who's more worthy than others.
- 2:03:48And of course that turned out to be white people.
- 2:03:50Um.
- 2:03:52Especially, you know, ones who are gonna go and do some colonizing.
- 2:03:55Um, all of that seems to be breaking down now, and the people who are
- 2:04:02exploring fields of consciousness, um, in the western world all seem
- 2:04:09to be coming to this conclusion.
- 2:04:11Talk us through, um, your next journeys, because that was sort of
- 2:04:15your icebreaker, if you like, right?
- 2:04:18Where you you got the new perspective.
- 2:04:21And I remember having that same response when I was sort of in my
- 2:04:28late teens, early twenties, I think when I first ever did psychotropics.
- 2:04:32I think I was living in Canada actually at the time, and, uh, when I first
- 2:04:36did LSD and I realized this is before any of my exposure to sort of shamma
- 2:04:42shamanism or anything like that.
- 2:04:43And I remember thinking, this is really useful because this is like
- 2:04:46being taken up to a window on.
- 2:04:51Spirituality or window on altered consciousness or what now people
- 2:04:57might call other fields, but you can't really go through that window.
- 2:05:02The, the drug is also, it gives you the, the perspective,
- 2:05:06but also is the limitation.
- 2:05:08Um, and then later when I encountered, you know, sun Bushman healers and
- 2:05:14others who could go through that window, um, I, of course, you know, my
- 2:05:20life changed, but I remember thinking very early, yes, this is great.
- 2:05:23I'm so glad I got a chance to see through this window, but I
- 2:05:28can't go through that window.
- 2:05:29You know?
- 2:05:30So you, but so you kind of a bit did go through the window on that first
- 2:05:38trip, but not perhaps fully right?
- 2:05:41You're still.
- 2:05:43Aware, well, this is a medicine I've taken, or this is a drug that
- 2:05:46I've taken, it's brought me here.
- 2:05:47How does it then develop, talk, talk us through the next couple, when's the next
- 2:05:50sort of most significant moment in, in these journeys that stands out for you?
- 2:05:56Right.
- 2:05:57Ralf Daab: And, and this is very the most significant, uh, story I was
- 2:06:01like before, went on the journey.
- 2:06:02I said like, you know, I wanna really know what am I doing in my, my life here?
- 2:06:06What is my purpose?
- 2:06:07What is my calling?
- 2:06:08Like, you know, am I really doing the things I'm supposed to do?
- 2:06:11Like, uh, so sometimes you, you can ask questions before or, you know, but it's,
- 2:06:17it's not necessarily that it comes up.
- 2:06:18The subconscious will tell you what, you know, what's important.
- 2:06:21But in this case, it came up and so I was listening to music.
- 2:06:25It was, um, same thing.
- 2:06:27It was on a mattress listening to music, and it was a kind of,
- 2:06:30kind of Arabian melody music.
- 2:06:34So suddenly I saw myself on a bazaar in Persia, but some hundred years ago.
- 2:06:40So I was walking through, was bizarre, looking at, you know,
- 2:06:43beautiful things like bases, like carpets, like beautiful things.
- 2:06:48And the people like who were selling that, they know me, they, they
- 2:06:50offered me to take, oh, take a look at here and there and there.
- 2:06:54So, and then suddenly two guards came, like soldiers, and they Japanese said
- 2:06:57like, oh, I, you are Ralph, right?
- 2:07:00And, um, yeah, I said like, yeah, um, come on, the, the Salton wants to see you.
- 2:07:06I said, Saltan, why Saltan?
- 2:07:08Yeah.
- 2:07:08Come on.
- 2:07:09So, and, and I'm telling this story.
- 2:07:10I'm really in that story.
- 2:07:12I'm not, you know, looking from the outside and then
- 2:07:15see the, I'm in the story.
- 2:07:17It's the same thing.
- 2:07:18As I said before.
- 2:07:18My soul was in the, I like up in space now.
- 2:07:22My soul was in Persia some hundred years ago.
- 2:07:25And I, you know, I could hear the voices, I could see everything like, as I would
- 2:07:30be there, like, so I was in the, in the.
- 2:07:33Uh, I was, yeah, walking with the palace and, and towards the, the sultan.
- 2:07:38So the Sultan said, hello, Ralph, very nice to see you.
- 2:07:41Glad you came.
- 2:07:43And, uh, and then he said that this is it.
- 2:07:46They say, you can see the beauty.
- 2:07:49Show me the beauty in this world, because I cannot see the beauty show the
- 2:07:53beauty to me, and I will make you rich.
- 2:07:55So I said, okay, all right.
- 2:07:58So that's, and then I, this stopped, story stopped, and it was like in the
- 2:08:02conversation with the guy was with me.
- 2:08:04He said like, you know what, I could just experience I salt like
- 2:08:07some hundred years ago in Persia.
- 2:08:09He said, yeah, what does it mean?
- 2:08:11Like your subconscious wants to tell you something of that.
- 2:08:14So, yeah, yeah.
- 2:08:15I'm doing books like for the last 20 years I published books on architecture,
- 2:08:19art, fashion, you know, to show beautiful things, you know, to other people.
- 2:08:23That's what I'm doing.
- 2:08:24Yeah.
- 2:08:25Okay.
- 2:08:25So, all right, that's that.
- 2:08:27So now, now I know that I'm doing the right thing, you know, because.
- 2:08:32That's what my subconscious told me.
- 2:08:35The funny, now the thing is like one of the next, not the next one, but the, the
- 2:08:39journey after like, I don't know, four months later, did the Suan feel that you
- 2:08:43did show him the beauty, or did Yeah.
- 2:08:47That the story continues.
- 2:08:49Mm-hmm.
- 2:08:49Like four months later, say music comes up, you know, mattress.
- 2:08:54And I was like, oh, I'm in Persia again.
- 2:08:57And I said, oh, oh, let's see what's gonna happen.
- 2:09:00So I'm in front of the S again and he says like, oh yeah, glad you're back.
- 2:09:04I, you know, I watch you and then you do a good job.
- 2:09:07Continue.
- 2:09:08It is all right.
- 2:09:09You know, that's, you're doing the right thing.
- 2:09:11Uh, but I have to tell you something.
- 2:09:13I said, okay, what do you have to tell him?
- 2:09:14And he says, I don't exist.
- 2:09:16I said, what do you mean you don't exist?
- 2:09:18Who are you?
- 2:09:19And then he says, in this word, I'm God, I'm the universe, and I'm you.
- 2:09:25And then he vanished.
- 2:09:26He, he exposed, he's gone.
- 2:09:28The palace is gone.
- 2:09:29Everything is gone.
- 2:09:30I'm on the mattress, I'm back.
- 2:09:31And the said what?
- 2:09:33Yeah.
- 2:09:33And then talking to the guy, I said that, yeah, it was just happens.
- 2:09:36Had the high spiritual, uh, experience saying like, it's all in my set.
- 2:09:41And me the sultan is just, I'm you.
- 2:09:44He said, like, it's in me.
- 2:09:46So it's all there.
- 2:09:49And that's, that's an incredible story.
- 2:09:53Now, um, now I know that I'm on the right path.
- 2:09:57So what happened then is we were in California two years ago and we
- 2:10:04were down in San Diego, LA Jolla.
- 2:10:06It's like, uh, a place I know, 'cause I've been there many times when I
- 2:10:10lived in the us So I was going to the bookstore and check out the bookstore.
- 2:10:16So there was a, I sort of sign psychic reading.
- 2:10:18I said like, ah, I'm curious.
- 2:10:20Let's say, let's go there.
- 2:10:21So I called and said like, come like in half an hour.
- 2:10:24So, um, so walk in and there's an old lady, beautiful setting, you
- 2:10:29know, it was more like a gallery.
- 2:10:31And I asked her, what, what can you do?
- 2:10:33So, and she said like, I, I can do a reading.
- 2:10:36I said, okay, let's do it.
- 2:10:37So one hour she said, like you said, just sit down.
- 2:10:40You don't say anything, you know, just listen.
- 2:10:42And after that you can ask questions.
- 2:10:44Like afterwards, in one hour she told me everything about my childhood, my, my
- 2:10:50life, my relationships, my, the things I'm doing, business wise, everything.
- 2:10:55And now it comes.
- 2:10:56Then she told me, in a former life you were in Persia on Aza you were responsible
- 2:11:03to show people beautiful things.
- 2:11:04Can you imagine like a psychic reader in California?
- 2:11:07That's real.
- 2:11:08It's not, that's not a journey.
- 2:11:10That's not, that's real life.
- 2:11:12She tells me the story I experienced on an Emily MJ journey six months before.
- 2:11:18Incredible.
- 2:11:19And then, and then af especially then I knew that's, that's something real,
- 2:11:24you know, now I know it's, it's there.
- 2:11:27It doesn't matter if it's a journey and the image or it's real life.
- 2:11:31It, it's, it's the same basically.
- 2:11:33And how can she possibly know that, you know?
- 2:11:37And, uh, did you ask her how she did?
- 2:11:39Yeah.
- 2:11:39And, and she said like, what?
- 2:11:41Uh, she said, like, when I walked in, she said, like, I
- 2:11:43was, she could see everything.
- 2:11:45I was open.
- 2:11:46She said like, uh, you know, you are very open.
- 2:11:49And then I told her about the journeys.
- 2:11:51She said, okay, now I know because you did the journeys, you're, you're very open.
- 2:11:55You can, you know, so you're, um, I, I have a feeling also that I can, things
- 2:12:00are channeled to me, you know, sometimes, you know, says, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:12:05That's all, that's you.
- 2:12:07And it's incredible.
- 2:12:08Then after that you said like, okay, now I'm, I'm really like, uh, the next level.
- 2:12:15Of my myself, basically, you know?
- 2:12:18So, and that showed me that what, what's in me, in my subconscious
- 2:12:24comes out through the MDA major.
- 2:12:25It is in real life.
- 2:12:26It's like what calla, uh, synchronicity happens, you know, like you
- 2:12:31experience things in real life.
- 2:12:34Maybe you have a dream or you have a journey.
- 2:12:36I'm the major, whatever.
- 2:12:37Or maybe mushrooms and things are happening.
- 2:12:40Um, and that's, I think, great.
- 2:12:45It opens up
- 2:12:46Rupert Isaacson: many doors.
- 2:12:47Did she elucidate or do you feel that what's going on with a thing
- 2:12:52like that is that you were dealing actually with a linear timeline?
- 2:12:55Like I used to be that person I, I'm, I'm now reincarnated as this person?
- 2:13:00Or do you or she feel that No, these are existing and overlapping parallels, fields
- 2:13:08of consciousness, which are perhaps.
- 2:13:11Happening simultaneously.
- 2:13:13Yeah.
- 2:13:14It's more like I experienced it happening all at the same time.
- 2:13:17So you are still the Yeah.
- 2:13:19It's, uh, person in Persia.
- 2:13:21Yeah.
- 2:13:21And you are still whoever you were or will be, right?
- 2:13:24Ralf Daab: Right.
- 2:13:25Even like in, in formal lives.
- 2:13:26But also now I'm still the young Ralph, the, the baby Ralph, the, the
- 2:13:305-year-old Ralph, the 15-year-old Ralph.
- 2:13:34I'm, I'm also, but I'm also the 90-year-old Ralph.
- 2:13:37Old, old Ralph already I'm, everything's at the same time.
- 2:13:41It's just a different perspective.
- 2:13:43You know, when you look at this and you can say it's just, if I'm like,
- 2:13:48um, I'm now 60 years old, so if I go like 55 light years away, I look to the
- 2:13:54earth and I see the 5-year-old Ralph.
- 2:13:56So it's all at the same time.
- 2:13:59And the great thing is what I experienced myself, is to find the
- 2:14:03old, the 5-year-old Ralph again in me.
- 2:14:06To let the, let the, the young Ralph play again, like the, you know, be
- 2:14:10silly, be, you know, open and, uh, yeah.
- 2:14:15And that's a great thing.
- 2:14:16So to know that everything is there at the same time, time is nothing.
- 2:14:20Time
- 2:14:21Rupert Isaacson: is, was it, was it Einstein who said that time may
- 2:14:25just be a particularly stubborn illusion brought about by gravity?
- 2:14:30Um, yeah, I'm not sure I understand that, but that's certainly something he said.
- 2:14:34Um, but I, I suppose I could actually, because if you add weight and mass
- 2:14:40to things, you know, you've probably seen those diagrams of the idea of
- 2:14:45space and time being like a net.
- 2:14:46And you put planet like ball that sits on it, goes whoop, like that.
- 2:14:49Yeah.
- 2:14:50Right.
- 2:14:50And that warp kind of effect of like the ball on the blanket with a
- 2:14:55blanket then gets a big bulge in it.
- 2:14:58If we are sort of in the middle of that, we then might experience that
- 2:15:02heaviness, that weight as time could be.
- 2:15:05Could that be, I mean, that sounds as, as feasible as anything else to me.
- 2:15:08I don't see why that wouldn't be, particularly when you've got
- 2:15:11people like Einstein saying it.
- 2:15:13Um, okay.
- 2:15:14Take us through the next, uh, thing.
- 2:15:17But before you get there, there's actually just something I'd like to also add.
- 2:15:22When I've been with indigenous peoples frequently, their perception
- 2:15:25of time is not, uh, linear.
- 2:15:29It's often more vertical.
- 2:15:30The idea is again, that it's all these things are happening simultaneously.
- 2:15:35You own lifespan is happening simultaneously.
- 2:15:37You are, as you say, your young self, your old self, your dead self, your previous
- 2:15:42self, your next self, all of that.
- 2:15:44That's all at the same time.
- 2:15:47It's just that where your awareness is, is now.
- 2:15:51Yeah.
- 2:15:51Um, and that, of course there is only the present because no
- 2:15:55one's ever been able to see.
- 2:15:56Anything else.
- 2:15:57Um, but there are all those presence are constantly going on together.
- 2:16:01And I've had that, I've had that presented to me many, many
- 2:16:05times in indigenous settings.
- 2:16:08Um, and then watch people do really interesting things with that.
- 2:16:11Then I just say it.
- 2:16:12But then they will go into an altered set of consciousness and in front of my eyes,
- 2:16:17pull something physically outta somebody's body who's sick and they get well.
- 2:16:20Again, I, I've seen that many people who've gone and spent time
- 2:16:24in those sorts of parts of the world would have similar stories.
- 2:16:27Um, so clearly it's been put to some sort of practical use.
- 2:16:32Um, it's just within our context in our culture, we find it confusing.
- 2:16:38Tell us then again, you, okay, so there's, there's you in Persia twice.
- 2:16:45There you are in San Diego.
- 2:16:46And the lady says, oh yeah, you were in Persia.
- 2:16:48Um, what's the next one that takes you deeper?
- 2:16:53I can tell you a story.
- 2:16:54Ralf Daab: I mean, we are under us now.
- 2:16:55Now it's very confidential.
- 2:16:58Oh, no.
- 2:16:58Well,
- 2:16:59Rupert Isaacson: I've hit the course.
- 2:17:01Ralf Daab: You
- 2:17:01Rupert Isaacson: don't want it.
- 2:17:02Ralf Daab: No, no, no.
- 2:17:03It's really, I can tell the story because it's once, this story is really, when
- 2:17:06I do the reading, you know, especially woman asked me, how, how did you do that?
- 2:17:11So I had sex with myself.
- 2:17:13Ah, I
- 2:17:14Ralf Daab: explain it now.
- 2:17:15Were you good?
- 2:17:16Yes, absolutely.
- 2:17:17And then, and it was incredible what a relief
- 2:17:19Rupert Isaacson: would be.
- 2:17:21Ralf Daab: Can you imagine if you like, well, that was a bit shit.
- 2:17:24No, no, I was, um, yeah, same thing.
- 2:17:27So I was, music was good.
- 2:17:29I was feeling really good.
- 2:17:30And, uh, so I, I started touching myself, but it felt like, you know,
- 2:17:35I'm touching somebody else, like with my hands, with somebody else.
- 2:17:38And I realized, oh, you know, came up.
- 2:17:40Oh, sex is good, you know, and then I saw myself as a man, as I am as Ralph.
- 2:17:48But then I realized there's something different.
- 2:17:51So I was also the woman.
- 2:17:54I was both, I was me and the woman, and I felt both, you know,
- 2:18:00both sides, basically both feet.
- 2:18:02I, I could feel myself and when I, when I, as Ralph as a man touched
- 2:18:06the woman, the Ralph, whatever name touched, I could feel both sides.
- 2:18:11So, and then we had sex, and then we really had sex.
- 2:18:13So we had Did you enter yourself?
- 2:18:15Yes.
- 2:18:15Yes.
- 2:18:15Did you feel
- 2:18:16Rupert Isaacson: yourself being entered by you?
- 2:18:17Yes.
- 2:18:17Yes.
- 2:18:18Ralf Daab: Yes.
- 2:18:19Rupert Isaacson: Okay.
- 2:18:19So you, you as a man know what it feels like to penetrate, how did it feel
- 2:18:22to be penetrated from that feeling?
- 2:18:25Very, very, very, very good.
- 2:18:26It felt very, what can you, can you, can you be more specific?
- 2:18:30Like,
- 2:18:30Ralf Daab: I felt like, I felt it was very tender.
- 2:18:33It was like smooth.
- 2:18:35It was lovely.
- 2:18:36It was, you know,
- 2:18:38Rupert Isaacson: very, uh, what was the emotional component of
- 2:18:42having this lover inside you?
- 2:18:44It was love.
- 2:18:45Ralf Daab: It was, it was, it felt like love, you know, like
- 2:18:48everything, you know, so it felt.
- 2:18:51Felt like I, I was, I would be one once, you know, everything in both.
- 2:18:56But I, I had my, the, the feminine side and I had the masculine
- 2:19:00side, and it was incredible.
- 2:19:03So I, for me as a man afterwards, I was saying like, okay, it's good.
- 2:19:07I'm, I'm very soft.
- 2:19:08I'm tender, I'm, I'm, I'm a good man.
- 2:19:10I'm very, you know, like, um, you know, so I, I think that woman feels
- 2:19:17feel good in my, you know, with me.
- 2:19:19So, and the other side was like, oh yeah, he's a good, he's great.
- 2:19:22He's, uh, um, so it was both
- 2:19:26Rupert Isaacson: sides.
- 2:19:28And he's credible, like when I, do you think it was an exercise in
- 2:19:30self-acceptance in some metaphorical way?
- 2:19:32Yeah.
- 2:19:33Kind of.
- 2:19:33Kind of,
- 2:19:33Ralf Daab: yes.
- 2:19:34Yeah.
- 2:19:35It was funny, like, uh, when I do the readings, most women ask
- 2:19:38me, oh, how, how does it feel?
- 2:19:39And then how, how does it work to get into that feeling?
- 2:19:42Because they wanna experience the same thing, but also as a man.
- 2:19:45Sure.
- 2:19:46You know,
- 2:19:47Rupert Isaacson: everyone has that curiosity.
- 2:19:48And then for
- 2:19:48Ralf Daab: me it was like, this journey was like to, to show me
- 2:19:51that everything is also in me, the feminine side and the masculine side.
- 2:19:57And my feminine part, I would say is also, I would say, bit
- 2:20:02larger than maybe other men.
- 2:20:04So I have real good feminine side also.
- 2:20:09And that was this journey, you know, to experience, uh,
- 2:20:13the sexual part on both sides.
- 2:20:18Rupert Isaacson: So,
- 2:20:19Ralf Daab: yeah,
- 2:20:20Rupert Isaacson: it's interesting that you say that because I have a,
- 2:20:23it's not exactly a recurring dream, but it's a dream where the, there's
- 2:20:29a recognition that is recurring, um, where sometimes I meet a young
- 2:20:36woman, and this has happened to me.
- 2:20:40Oh.
- 2:20:43Many times in the, over the decades, and there's this absolute falling
- 2:20:47in love and but also a sense of, I know you, and sometimes we
- 2:20:54make love and sometimes we don't.
- 2:20:55But there's always this great joy and a feeling of homecoming and acceptance.
- 2:21:02And then when I wake up, sometimes I wake up with tears, not from loss, not
- 2:21:08because I've had to wake up and that person has gone, but sort of tears of joy.
- 2:21:13And then at a heart level, what comes through is, oh, that was your soul.
- 2:21:19You met your soul.
- 2:21:20And it's interesting to me that my soul is always feminine
- 2:21:23and occasionally it's a horse.
- 2:21:27Mm-hmm.
- 2:21:27Occasionally I meet a horse that talks, we don't make love.
- 2:21:31Um, but we do hang out and we, and we, um, the interactions we have are very sweet.
- 2:21:41Very loving.
- 2:21:43There is this feeling of
- 2:21:48a family, family or so less romantic than when I meet the young woman.
- 2:21:56But nonetheless, the same exact feeling and the same heart
- 2:22:00thought, that's your soul.
- 2:22:02And then I'm always so grateful afterwards.
- 2:22:04I always do a meditation or, or pray around gratitude and say, thank you,
- 2:22:10thank you, thank you God universe for allowing me to make contact
- 2:22:16with my soul like that because it means that I can carry that feeling
- 2:22:23around with me almost like a little happiness garden, um, inside myself.
- 2:22:27Um, and it sounds like you are describing.
- 2:22:32A very, very intense version of something like that, perhaps.
- 2:22:35Mm-hmm.
- 2:22:35Rupert Isaacson: Um, has that happened to you again since, or No.
- 2:22:39Was that a one time?
- 2:22:40That was a one time, yeah.
- 2:22:41Ralf Daab: Yeah.
- 2:22:42But it's there now.
- 2:22:43Now I know.
- 2:22:43Like, it's in me
- 2:22:44Rupert Isaacson: like, like
- 2:22:45Ralf Daab: Right.
- 2:22:45Do
- 2:22:45Rupert Isaacson: you
- 2:22:45Ralf Daab: feel
- 2:22:45Rupert Isaacson: you can access that state?
- 2:22:47Yeah.
- 2:22:47Ralf Daab: Yeah.
- 2:22:48Yeah.
- 2:22:49It's with everything, you know, the thing is like, every story is comforting.
- 2:22:53I think that that's the word I'm trying to Yeah, yeah.
- 2:22:55Right.
- 2:22:56Yeah.
- 2:22:57Every story I experience like is, it's in me.
- 2:22:59It's, it's, it's right there, you know, different situations.
- 2:23:03I can pull it up and say, oh, yeah.
- 2:23:05Um, there's another great story I tell you.
- 2:23:08Mm-hmm.
- 2:23:09Please.
- 2:23:09Um, I always had a dream for years because you were talking about a dream.
- 2:23:15Um, in real life, like, I had dream like years and years and years.
- 2:23:18I, I, you know, I was flying a lot, you know, when I lived in New York, I was
- 2:23:22like always on the, you know, plane.
- 2:23:24Like, I don't know.
- 2:23:26I.
- 2:23:26Every week almost.
- 2:23:27Um, I never had fear of flying or, you know, something, but in that
- 2:23:32dream, um, the plane crashed and, uh, in the, in the dark woods.
- 2:23:37So, you know, I survive and everybody in the plane survive.
- 2:23:41So, but I'm standing in the front of the wreck, the, the
- 2:23:44wreckage that, of the plane.
- 2:23:46And then the dream always stops there in the, in the, in darkness.
- 2:23:51And this is a dream
- 2:23:52Rupert Isaacson: outside of these MDMA journey, right?
- 2:23:54Right.
- 2:23:55Like the dream
- 2:23:55Ralf Daab: I had like, for, for years, 10 years or so.
- 2:23:57Okay.
- 2:23:58Even, even more 15 years or so.
- 2:24:01Um, so I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm standing in front of the wreckage and, and, uh, and
- 2:24:06it's dark and then the dream stops there.
- 2:24:09I wake up and the dream stops there.
- 2:24:11So on one of the journeys, the dream comes up.
- 2:24:15Same thing.
- 2:24:16I'm standing in front of the wreckage and, and now I start walking.
- 2:24:23Into the darkness.
- 2:24:24You know, it, I could see nothing.
- 2:24:26It was just black, you know, woods black, nothing could see anything.
- 2:24:31How about I keep walking and then suddenly a, a girl stands there in
- 2:24:35this white skirt, like a little, like five year, four year girl, girl.
- 2:24:40And she puts me like an amlin around my neck.
- 2:24:43And then she, she tells me that, go your path into the light.
- 2:24:49Walk into the light.
- 2:24:51So I keep walking, walking.
- 2:24:53Suddenly I see a light, you know, in the woods.
- 2:24:56So, and I get there and then, uh, and there's a huge deer like in,
- 2:25:02in the middle, standing there in the light, and he steps aside.
- 2:25:07And I go in there and I start dancing in that space where the light is.
- 2:25:15And then suddenly I, I'm, I'm on a stage.
- 2:25:17I'm in a huge stage, and then the curtains open, and then there are
- 2:25:21thousands of people applauding.
- 2:25:23And then, uh, I'm, I'm back there on stage dancing again.
- 2:25:28So what tells me that metaphor was like, yes, I was, I was broke, you
- 2:25:33know, I was like, you know, lost kind of like, and I was lost in real
- 2:25:38life, so I was lost standing there.
- 2:25:41I was not dead, but, and then I start walking and this little
- 2:25:45girl gives me like an omelet.
- 2:25:46Like say, okay, go into the light.
- 2:25:49And then I'm, I'm on stage dancing and I'm back into my life.
- 2:25:53I'm back on stage.
- 2:25:54I'm, so, it's a fantastic story for me.
- 2:25:57And ever since it's like, I don't know, two years ago, never had that dream again.
- 2:26:04'cause it's the, the, the situation is solved now, you know?
- 2:26:08You know what I mean?
- 2:26:09Like, I'm back on stage and there was an old life that
- 2:26:13Rupert Isaacson: had to end, uh, sort of.
- 2:26:16Uh, yeah, very businessy, very flying, roundy involved type life.
- 2:26:23Right.
- 2:26:24It needed to end, but when that ends, of course, yeah.
- 2:26:27One feels lost for a while.
- 2:26:30Yeah.
- 2:26:31Until one is put on the next stage.
- 2:26:33I could see, I could see the logic of that.
- 2:26:37Um, so that was really like,
- 2:26:39Ralf Daab: uh, yeah.
- 2:26:41Never had that dream again.
- 2:26:42I don't need that dream again.
- 2:26:43'cause now I'm back in state basically kind of like, okay, I'm back
- 2:26:48Rupert Isaacson: now before we come to where you are back to, which
- 2:26:54is different to where you were and perhaps an old self did have to die.
- 2:26:59Um, talk to me about death.
- 2:27:03So with these journeys, you experienced perspective, you
- 2:27:10experienced love and self-acceptance.
- 2:27:13You experienced.
- 2:27:15Uh, different fields of consciousness and vertical parallel timelines.
- 2:27:24Ralf Daab: I know what you,
- 2:27:25Rupert Isaacson: yeah.
- 2:27:26Have you experienced death and if so, yes.
- 2:27:28Yes.
- 2:27:29Tell me about that.
- 2:27:30Yes, I experienced
- 2:27:31Ralf Daab: my own death and it was wonderful.
- 2:27:34Um, some people would say, oh, scaring, or, you know, I don't
- 2:27:39want to, you know, experience that I did and it was wonderful.
- 2:27:43So the thing is, I, I was, you know, um, same thing, you know, mattress music
- 2:27:50is on and I see myself on the beach in os Gore, that's in France, like on
- 2:27:55the Atlantic Coast where we go almost every year, uh, for a long time now.
- 2:28:00Um, it's like a soul place for me.
- 2:28:02Like it's, you know, so I see myself like on the beach sitting
- 2:28:05there in the arms of a woman, but I don't see the woman behind me.
- 2:28:10But I'm sitting there and then I.
- 2:28:11The number 96 comes up.
- 2:28:14So my age, 96.
- 2:28:15I say, wow, that's fantastic.
- 2:28:17I'm 96 years old.
- 2:28:18I had a good life.
- 2:28:19I, uh, it's a lot of time.
- 2:28:22Um, so, and then I felt that my soul is leaving my body, you know, it's like going
- 2:28:29out of my body, like over the sand and the water up in the, through the cloud.
- 2:28:33There were no clouds, but, uh, up in the sky and then into space and, and it said
- 2:28:38like, I'm dying and actually a diet.
- 2:28:41And the woman behind me said, like, you know, I'm, I'm coming with you later.
- 2:28:45And, uh, I love you.
- 2:28:47That's the last thing I heard.
- 2:28:48I love you, but I couldn't see the woman, so I don't know who it is.
- 2:28:52Yeah, no.
- 2:28:53So that's, um, but it was a wonderful experience.
- 2:28:59It was, uh, very, very smooth, very uh.
- 2:29:05Not hurting, nothing.
- 2:29:06You know, it was like going in back into space.
- 2:29:10It, it just felt really, really wonderful.
- 2:29:13And then being 96, I said like, you know, if that's, this
- 2:29:16is really, I'm gonna be 96.
- 2:29:17Wow, that's great.
- 2:29:18You know, so I still have, you know, about, it was 56 at that
- 2:29:22time, so I have 40 years to go.
- 2:29:24It is fantastic.
- 2:29:25You know, so, and if I die 90, say whatever can happen to me now, that being
- 2:29:28Rupert Isaacson: 16
- 2:29:29Ralf Daab: again.
- 2:29:29Rupert Isaacson: Yeah.
- 2:29:30Ralf Daab: Yeah.
- 2:29:30That's the other story.
- 2:29:31Now that, that's the part I experience on the MDMA journey.
- 2:29:34But, so three months later we are actually in our school.
- 2:29:38I go for a walk on the beach.
- 2:29:40I have music on.
- 2:29:41That's what I do.
- 2:29:41Like once a day I going for a walk and then I stop.
- 2:29:46And at that, I'm at that point where I said, oh, here has, here is this, here's
- 2:29:50a place where I die so I could see it.
- 2:29:53And I, I got showered.
- 2:29:54It felt like boo goosebumps wall.
- 2:29:56I.
- 2:29:57I start crying, you know, say, wow, this is, here's a place.
- 2:30:01So I then did calculations, said like I was 56.
- 2:30:05Then I said, I, when I 96, it's 40 years to go.
- 2:30:09When I subtract that from 56, I'm 16 years old now, and I can start all over
- 2:30:15again with everything, with relationship, with business, with everything.
- 2:30:19And I still have 40 years to go, wow, how fantastic is that?
- 2:30:22So, and then I started crying and laughing and I was dancing on the beach
- 2:30:26and I was like, wow, this is fantastic.
- 2:30:29So that was real, you know, so that's what I said earlier with with when you
- 2:30:33have like the experience with, with the Saltan or you know, with things
- 2:30:37that happen in, in on the MDMA journey.
- 2:30:40And then you have experience like in real life you say, well, that's
- 2:30:43the same thing, you know here.
- 2:30:45The, his story continues in real life, so I.
- 2:30:49It was just fantastic.
- 2:30:51And I said like, I don't have fear of death, nothing.
- 2:30:54So what, what else, uh, can happen to me?
- 2:30:58And one thing is like, uh, a friend of mine, tma, he died in November of cancer
- 2:31:05last November, very sad age of 58.
- 2:31:08So, um, and last year I took him twice on the journey, MDMA journey.
- 2:31:14And he experienced also his death on his first journey, um, which helped
- 2:31:20him a lot to, at the end, I was in the hospice with him the last three days.
- 2:31:26And he told me the story, like how he died and he was great.
- 2:31:29He was, you know, going into the light and he had no fear, you know, and he left
- 2:31:34and with no fear and he gave me so much power and energy and it was incredible.
- 2:31:39So, for him, this MDMA journey was wonderful, you know?
- 2:31:45Going through this whole process, and then eventually he died then.
- 2:31:48But, uh, it was great.
- 2:31:50So for him and for me also, yeah.
- 2:31:53So these are things that, uh, that's why I also like, uh, going, I dunno
- 2:32:00when next week, two weeks, we're gonna do like, uh, MDA journey again.
- 2:32:04Like this is like, just experience.
- 2:32:07Like what, what's coming, you know, you can look into the
- 2:32:09future, um, or I can look into the future, or I can ask questions.
- 2:32:13So like, what is, what, what's coming next?
- 2:32:15Or ideas is something I should, uh, I should look at.
- 2:32:20Or what also happens is, um, that's what the, the psychic reading
- 2:32:24told me also, like, I should be open to, uh, to channeling.
- 2:32:28And that's happening also.
- 2:32:29Sometimes when I wake up in the morning, it's now, I, I sleep very
- 2:32:34well because one thing is also like, it helped me a lot in the last six months
- 2:32:37without the separation, the ending of the relationship and everything.
- 2:32:40I.
- 2:32:41I don't drink alcohol in it no more for six months now.
- 2:32:45And it's great, you know, I feel good.
- 2:32:48I sleep better.
- 2:32:49I, I'm clear.
- 2:32:50So it's, it's fantastic.
- 2:32:52So I wake up most of the time, early in the morning, like 5 30, 6.
- 2:32:56And then in that stage I'm, I'm just saying, okay, I'm
- 2:33:00open, just channel whatever.
- 2:33:01Like, I'm talking to the universe, they're like, oh, let, let me know
- 2:33:04what I, you know, should look at.
- 2:33:07And, uh, and I, I get messages.
- 2:33:09It's, it's amazing.
- 2:33:10Can you give us some
- 2:33:10Rupert Isaacson: examples?
- 2:33:12Ralf Daab: Yeah.
- 2:33:12It's like, um, some people come up, they say, oh, you should talk to him.
- 2:33:16Or some people like, um, like yesterday for example, was some like really like
- 2:33:22a name came up or I saw the picture actually of a person who I've seen for
- 2:33:26like years said I should talk, contact him, you know, so that kind of thing.
- 2:33:30And I sent an email yesterday.
- 2:33:34Got a response, so maybe a new project.
- 2:33:36So that's kind of things, you know, oh, let's say I should do this or that,
- 2:33:40or just some, sometimes small things.
- 2:33:43But yeah, it's kind of like, or I see get also sometimes messages
- 2:33:47for other people when I, when I, um, see oh, there's something going
- 2:33:52on, and yeah, be careful, you know?
- 2:33:54So I think it's more like, and then you tell
- 2:33:57Rupert Isaacson: that person, I saw this.
- 2:33:59Ralf Daab: Yeah,
- 2:33:59Rupert Isaacson: keep your eyes
- 2:34:00Ralf Daab: open.
- 2:34:01It's like what Psyched told me, like you are very open, you know, um, you
- 2:34:06know, a higher frequency basically.
- 2:34:09And I feel that sometimes, you know, that, um, I can get messages
- 2:34:13or feel something and, um.
- 2:34:16That's what Yeah, it's, it's, it's great.
- 2:34:19So it's nothing I'm, I'm afraid of, you know, so it's just really good.
- 2:34:24And that's why, you know, I'm continue also doing, doing like, uh, I'm
- 2:34:27starting doing Kundalini now because Kundalini yoga is also spiritual,
- 2:34:32you know, it's a connection between spirit and body and everything.
- 2:34:35It's, it is part of the spiritual journey.
- 2:34:38Um, or, uh, the go meditation I did last weekend in, in Hamburg was fantastic.
- 2:34:44Have you done go meditation?
- 2:34:45Wow.
- 2:34:46I have not,
- 2:34:46Rupert Isaacson: but I have, I have done things with singing bowls and frequencies.
- 2:34:51Um, I was recently in Grand Rapids, Michigan and um, went through a
- 2:34:58meditation with singing balls, very similar to gongs actually.
- 2:35:03And one of the things which the practitioner did as we were lying
- 2:35:08there, was with a tuning fork coming around and then putting the tuning fork.
- 2:35:16To the skin, um, at the frequency of the bowl.
- 2:35:22And I, what I found, um, extraordinary about that was that I didn't experience
- 2:35:30it as like a vibration or a buzzing or a tickling or something that you'd,
- 2:35:34you'd expect I experienced it as color.
- 2:35:37Mm-hmm.
- 2:35:37Um, and
- 2:35:41deep sense of peace.
- 2:35:43And I was actually there with my son.
- 2:35:44I was there with Rowan, uh, sc you know who's Yeah.
- 2:35:47Okay.
- 2:35:48My whole story really?
- 2:35:49Yeah.
- 2:35:49Yeah.
- 2:35:49We were there
- 2:35:49Rupert Isaacson: together and he'd been actually helping me
- 2:35:52with a, an autism training.
- 2:35:54Um, you know, he often comes on the trainings now and helps explain
- 2:35:58autism from the inside to people.
- 2:36:01Um, and to be going through that experience with him was lovely.
- 2:36:04And actually that, that.
- 2:36:05What you just said brings me sort of to the next thing, which is I think
- 2:36:08some people will be listening saying, oh, well, does that mean I have to
- 2:36:11do a psychotropic substance in order to begin to access these states?
- 2:36:16And of course the answer is no.
- 2:36:18No.
- 2:36:18Um, all of my early experiences with those ulcer state of consciousness as
- 2:36:25healing have been with, um, cultures where those plants just don't grow.
- 2:36:33So for example, in the Kalahari, in southern Africa,
- 2:36:37there are no psychotropics.
- 2:36:38So the healers dance themselves into trance, um, but then are incredibly
- 2:36:45effective whether they are healing or whether they're contacting ancestor
- 2:36:50spirits for, um, answers to a dilemma or whether they are, whether it's hunting
- 2:36:55magic, and they just need to know where the lions are so they can go the
- 2:36:58other way the next day, or, or, or, um.
- 2:37:03Of course, those who know my story know that it, it even got tied up
- 2:37:06with the human rights and political, um, uh, struggle that the son
- 2:37:15were in, that I was helping with.
- 2:37:17Where I realized that what was happening was the lawyers that we
- 2:37:20were, uh, hiring for them because they've been kicked off their land
- 2:37:26illegally to make way for diamond mines.
- 2:37:30Were going talking to the.
- 2:37:32Community who would then go and talk to their healers, who would then go into
- 2:37:36trance and go into the spirit world, come back with a series of instructions, tell
- 2:37:39that to the community, who would then tell that to the lawyers, and then that
- 2:37:42would be the strategy for the courtroom.
- 2:37:46But the lawyers had no idea that they were being directed from the spirit world.
- 2:37:50And when I realized that that was going on, I, oh my gosh, I
- 2:37:53can never tell these guys this.
- 2:37:54'cause what?
- 2:37:54It'll put them off their game.
- 2:37:55But what happened was that, you know, us with the measly, you know, a
- 2:37:58hundred thousand that we managed to, uh, raise up against DeBeers Diamonds.
- 2:38:06The Bushman won
- 2:38:11the largest land claim in African history, and then several more after
- 2:38:16that and did indeed get to go home and did indeed see the whole process
- 2:38:21through, um, no psychotropics involved.
- 2:38:26Then a few years ago, I was going through a rather difficult.
- 2:38:30Period.
- 2:38:31And I was experiencing a lot of fear and it was beginning to take over.
- 2:38:37And I was with a healer I know in the Americas who
- 2:38:41heals in the Lakota tradition.
- 2:38:43And there they do use a psychotropic, they use peyote, um, which is partly,
- 2:38:50you know, dimethyltryptamine, DMT, strongest hallucinogen known to man.
- 2:38:55And he said, Rupert, I can just see we were in a sweat lodge.
- 2:38:58And I'd done that before, sweating through.
- 2:39:00He said, I can see you need medicine, you know?
- 2:39:02And I was like, no, I do.
- 2:39:04The last thing I need right now is I'm just clinging onto
- 2:39:06my sanity by my fingernails.
- 2:39:08The last thing I need is some kind of psychotropic drug is ripper.
- 2:39:11How long have you known me?
- 2:39:11You know, do you feel I'm a professional or not?
- 2:39:14Good?
- 2:39:15Fine.
- 2:39:16You know, so he says, I'll give you, you know, the dosage
- 2:39:19I think that you should have.
- 2:39:20And what was so interesting was I.
- 2:39:23After a while, I became aware of like a little red laser that
- 2:39:26you might see in a PowerPoint.
- 2:39:28Mm-hmm.
- 2:39:28Going through my body and stopping at areas where I had stiffness and pain.
- 2:39:33Oh.
- 2:39:33And it would go b
- 2:39:36beep, and then it would move on and the pain would, at that place would be gone.
- 2:39:39And then a certain point it crossed into my brain and it
- 2:39:43started going around my brain.
- 2:39:45And everywhere it was finding fear and anxiety.
- 2:39:47It would stop and go B,
- 2:39:51you know, and it would be gone.
- 2:39:53And like it was finding, you know, cortisol scarring effectively from
- 2:39:58stress and taking that away, which we know oxytocin can do naturally, but this
- 2:40:03was happening very, very, very quickly.
- 2:40:05And I remember thinking, well, this is great, but you know, the drug's gonna
- 2:40:09wear off and then it will all come back.
- 2:40:11But it never did.
- 2:40:12The healing was real and lasting.
- 2:40:16But the reason I'm telling that story and then the stories from.
- 2:40:21Previously when no medicine was involved is, I think, speaking to your point
- 2:40:30where you've now been four years letting, let's say the plant medicine because
- 2:40:37MDMA is effectively a plant derivative or, or, uh, you know, synthesize drugs
- 2:40:45are effectively plant derivatives.
- 2:40:47And now you're finding, oh, actually I no longer need that to access.
- 2:40:54Right.
- 2:40:54The, and you know, and even though it doesn't mean I'm gonna reject it, I
- 2:40:58will still continue to do those things, but I know it, it's done its job
- 2:41:02for having provided me the, the, the way through the window, if you like.
- 2:41:06Would you say that that's
- 2:41:07Ralf Daab: true?
- 2:41:08Yeah, exactly.
- 2:41:08Exactly.
- 2:41:09It goes faster.
- 2:41:10I mean, there are different ways to, and everybody can find, they should
- 2:41:12find their own own way to, to get there.
- 2:41:15Um, it's just a little faster, I would say, you know, it's.
- 2:41:21You can do it like one day, basically a journey.
- 2:41:24And when you do other things, you have to train it, you have to
- 2:41:27like, yeah, really get into it.
- 2:41:28It can take hours or like weeks, decades or decades, you know, you could get
- 2:41:33there, but it takes a long, longer time.
- 2:41:35So with, with MA or maybe other things like, uh, mushrooms.
- 2:41:39And so it, it gets faster because, you know, there's nothing you can do.
- 2:41:42You just, it's gonna act on the way it's gonna happen that way.
- 2:41:46Yeah, right.
- 2:41:47So, um, it's basically, you know, just to bring the body to, to
- 2:41:54produce more dopamine, you know, or certainly, you know, so, but yeah.
- 2:41:59But a lot of people are afraid or they're like, um, don't want to take
- 2:42:03drugs, you know, of course, you know, maybe, uh, self-control, whatever.
- 2:42:08And they always say like, you know, drugs, what is drugs?
- 2:42:11You know, like medicine is, it's all drugs and it's as a therapy, it, it helps.
- 2:42:17I mean, like, it's, it's proven, you know?
- 2:42:19So, um.
- 2:42:21Post-traumatic traumas.
- 2:42:22You know, in other countries like Australia, it's legal now they, they
- 2:42:25do it and, uh, they're working on it.
- 2:42:27I think also in the u in US and even in Europe.
- 2:42:30So it takes some years, but then it will be, for therapy, it will be legalized.
- 2:42:36MDMA, right?
- 2:42:37MDMA.
- 2:42:38Yeah.
- 2:42:38MDA.
- 2:42:39And of course it used to be.
- 2:42:40Used to be, used to be.
- 2:42:41So, um, yeah.
- 2:42:44But there are different ways and everybody can find their, their own way.
- 2:42:47And it should be, it is no dogma.
- 2:42:49It's no dogma to say you have to do this to get there, you know, so.
- 2:42:52Right.
- 2:42:53Rupert Isaacson: Um, it, it's also interesting that you talk about Kundalini,
- 2:42:56because the Bushman have a, a similar idea, you know, Kundalini's supposed to
- 2:43:01reside at the base of your spine, right?
- 2:43:02Mm-hmm.
- 2:43:02And it's a life force, a sexual energy that you can, um, begin to manipulate
- 2:43:08the Bushman colic mum and forward slash.
- 2:43:14Um, the forward slash is that click that, and mum is one of those,
- 2:43:19uh, untranslatable words, which it can mean power, this type of life
- 2:43:24force wisdom can mean many things.
- 2:43:28Um, but they, what they do is they over years of training, learn how
- 2:43:33to boil the, in their stomach, bring it into their stomach and boil it.
- 2:43:39And the dance does this, and you'll see them get incredibly hot.
- 2:43:44Wow.
- 2:43:44And if you touch them, they're incredibly hot, but they'll even, they'll try
- 2:43:47to cool themselves in the fire.
- 2:43:50So they'll actually take swallow coals.
- 2:43:52I've seen that many times.
- 2:43:53Or lay in the fire, come up, unburned.
- 2:43:56Very good.
- 2:43:56Um, and then when the womb is boiling, which is very painful in the
- 2:44:01early stages, when they're younger healers, they'll often faint or.
- 2:44:05Sometimes they would say die and have to be brought back.
- 2:44:08But as they get older, they learn how to ride it.
- 2:44:10And then this is when they can not just be in the spirit world and do
- 2:44:15what they need to do, but they can pull things out of people or put
- 2:44:17things into people that are needed.
- 2:44:20So it's clear that these things are as old as humanity because
- 2:44:25the San are, the bushman are the oldest known culture on the planet.
- 2:44:30And so the quest for the altered state of consciousness seems to be built
- 2:44:35into our DNA, um, that to play with consciousness, which is why I think in
- 2:44:42the past we've made, had the arrogance as humans to think we are the only ones
- 2:44:46with consciousness, which now I think we're realizing clearly isn't true.
- 2:44:49But because we're conscious of our consciousness in a certain way,
- 2:44:52if you like, we're self-conscious, we have a great desire to.
- 2:44:58Communicate with it, I think, and through it, and use it as medicine
- 2:45:02and answer dilemmas through it.
- 2:45:04And I, uh, as you say, whichever way you do it, um, there is no
- 2:45:11one way but to be on that path.
- 2:45:15Seems to be important for human happiness.
- 2:45:18Yeah.
- 2:45:18Would you not
- 2:45:18Ralf Daab: agree?
- 2:45:19Yeah, absolutely.
- 2:45:19Yes.
- 2:45:20You on certain, like one path to your own path, and then be curious, you know,
- 2:45:24like go there and there, try things out, you know, like what I did like,
- 2:45:29uh, following like some people like a podcast and then say, okay, that's good.
- 2:45:32I, I, you know, now I follow somebody else or read other books or do
- 2:45:37a seminar on, uh, meditation or the gong meditation, for example.
- 2:45:41Just try things out, you know, and then you feel like when your body, or when
- 2:45:44your consciousness, or when your spirit like reacts and what, what's best for you.
- 2:45:49So, and like being on a path that's the most beautiful thing.
- 2:45:53It is like, and uh, to, to, to experience new things.
- 2:45:57To meet new people.
- 2:45:58And it is, it is kind of like you, you meet other people, you meet
- 2:46:01people who are also on their path.
- 2:46:03You know, you, you connect very fast.
- 2:46:06And, uh, um, and that's, that's the great thing about, uh, you know, being on the.
- 2:46:13On the journey.
- 2:46:14On the path.
- 2:46:15And, uh, but as I said in the beginning is you have to let things go, you know?
- 2:46:19Um, that's the other part I I seeing or meeting a lot of people.
- 2:46:23They do a lot of things.
- 2:46:24They, they, they go every, every day or three, four days a week, they go
- 2:46:29to yoga and they do a lot things, but they still in the same environment.
- 2:46:33There's still same jobs.
- 2:46:34They're stressed, you know, they, they, they, you know, of course it's difficult
- 2:46:38to leave everything, but, um, kind of like you have to like, kind of, you know, let
- 2:46:42things go in order to receive new things.
- 2:46:46You have to make room for new things.
- 2:46:48Rupert Isaacson: It seems though that that process is almost built in.
- 2:46:51Um, and I think a lot of people find this rather alarmingly, you know, when
- 2:46:57they first get involved in this type of way of life, things can fall apart
- 2:47:05very fast and that can be very traumatic at first, even though they may, they
- 2:47:09are things that actually you look.
- 2:47:12Back over a couple of years and you go, oh yeah, actually
- 2:47:14I needed to let all that go.
- 2:47:16Um, and I probably would've just clung onto it forever if it hadn't, if I
- 2:47:21hadn't been literally picked up by a pair of forceps and placed over there.
- 2:47:25Um, however painful that was, and I'd say it seems that you've gone through
- 2:47:29something like this rather recently, because when I first met you, um,
- 2:47:34you were, you know, living in vs.
- 2:47:38Barden, which is
- 2:47:40a nice town, it's a wealthy town, um, nice apartment, um, still very much in
- 2:47:49the publishing life, et cetera, et cetera.
- 2:47:53Then you went through something of disruption, um, about six months ago.
- 2:48:02Um, and I remember and, and now you're living in this, in
- 2:48:08an apartment in this castle.
- 2:48:10Rather, rather romantic, um, in a very, very beautiful part of the countryside in
- 2:48:15Germany that I know where you are and I know how beautiful the nature is there.
- 2:48:20And it's interesting you've been sending me these, uh, pictures
- 2:48:24on WhatsApp of, of the nature, and I'm like, ah, he's found it.
- 2:48:28'cause one of the things which I was noticing through your story, um, and
- 2:48:31they, you know, when, whether it was you, uh, working for Chen or you as the, uh,
- 2:48:38Persian person showing people beauty, the, this is all about human beauty and things
- 2:48:44that were made by humans and you know, Chen also fashion and models and that
- 2:48:51kind of physical human beauty and as well.
- 2:48:54But what I feel is often missing from all of that is nature.
- 2:48:59Um, and of course the greatest beauty, of course, is always nature.
- 2:49:02And that's why we, we react and respond to beauty in the way that we do because
- 2:49:06nature is beautiful and nature is what we're supposed to be surrounded by.
- 2:49:10And people actually, people are very beautiful.
- 2:49:12Um, inside from doubt.
- 2:49:14We're a very loving species.
- 2:49:15Right.
- 2:49:16You know, it's, it, so it's interesting to me that finally,
- 2:49:19you know, in the last six months, there you are in nature by another.
- 2:49:24Mm-hmm.
- 2:49:24Mm-hmm.
- 2:49:25You know, you, those of you who are watching this on YouTube, you, it looks
- 2:49:29like, well obviously we're, we're, we're talking across by Zoom in Ralph's
- 2:49:32apartment within that castle, but I know what's outside that window and I know
- 2:49:37that you're out in that nature now and you've really simplified, you've sort of
- 2:49:40gone from, you know, home ownership and real estate and all of that stuff now
- 2:49:46to saying, no, no, I'm gonna minimalize and I'm just gonna have this small
- 2:49:51apartment to spend most of my time in nature while still working as a publisher.
- 2:49:55Ralf Daab: Right.
- 2:49:55Rupert Isaacson: You know, it's interesting to me,
- 2:49:57Ralf Daab: and one thing is also like, uh, talking about, you know, when I
- 2:50:00said the, the, the, the salt in the Persia, you know, show the beauty.
- 2:50:04Uh, what I realize now, it's not only it was back then or still is sometimes of
- 2:50:10course with the books to show the beauty outside, but it's also like, my purpose
- 2:50:15is also to show the beauty in people.
- 2:50:17Mm-hmm.
- 2:50:17To help people to go on their path to, to develop or show their own beauty.
- 2:50:23And that's also, you know, one thing I'm gonna do in the future to help
- 2:50:27people, uh, to show their own beauty because every person is beautiful.
- 2:50:35So, and then how.
- 2:50:39Well, but, um, yeah, with seminars, with, uh, you know, I did like, uh, coaching,
- 2:50:44um, um, as a neuroscience coaching.
- 2:50:48I have like a certificate, whatever you call it, you know, and then I did,
- 2:50:51uh, meditation, spiritual, and I'm doing a kundalini, uh, practicing.
- 2:50:56So things like put it together, but also my.
- 2:51:00Strength is what I can do really good is like bring people together.
- 2:51:04Mm-hmm.
- 2:51:04So, you know, the funny thing is, like a year ago I was still in Spartan,
- 2:51:08I was in rgo, which is beautiful, you know, the wine area with wines.
- 2:51:13And so, and I was standing there and said like, ah, well this is beautiful.
- 2:51:16This is beautiful and, and good energy for me.
- 2:51:18And it's like I would live in a place like here, like where you can live,
- 2:51:22but also where you can do seminars, you know, like a house or so.
- 2:51:26And now I'm no longer at Beach Spot, but I'm here now and I have, I found a place.
- 2:51:31It's incredible.
- 2:51:32Rupert Isaacson: Can you, can you do seminars now
- 2:51:34Ralf Daab: in Yes.
- 2:51:35This, here they're, they event place, they're weddings are here,
- 2:51:39seminars here, there's a big space terrace outside Nature.
- 2:51:44It is a perfect place for seminars.
- 2:51:46So we can, we start doing like in, in four weeks, we have a seminar here I'm
- 2:51:50organizing, so I bring people here.
- 2:51:52That's, you know, uh, organized things, festivals.
- 2:51:55I wanted to do a festival here, music festival overlooking
- 2:51:58here, the Rhine Valley.
- 2:51:59It's, it's just incredible.
- 2:52:00So can you imagine like a year before, like last year or,
- 2:52:06or it was more than a year.
- 2:52:07I mean, last year was, and I had this vision and now I'm here and I
- 2:52:12can do it, and it's, it's happening.
- 2:52:16So it's not, you know, I had to, had to leave things in v spot and,
- 2:52:21you know, also the relationship.
- 2:52:24But now everything can come and can, you know, organize.
- 2:52:30I'm not looking for a relationship now, but never know.
- 2:52:33But everything is can happen now.
- 2:52:34So.
- 2:52:36And you're still
- 2:52:37Rupert Isaacson: publishing?
- 2:52:38Ralf Daab: Yeah.
- 2:52:39Yeah.
- 2:52:39Rupert Isaacson: So listen, if people want to read your
- 2:52:41book, um, there you are again.
- 2:52:44Um, yeah.
- 2:52:45How do they find it?
- 2:52:46Ralf Daab: Well, there's a, there's a website.
- 2:52:48It's called um, books.buy.
- 2:52:50It's a print on demand website.
- 2:52:52Mm-hmm.
- 2:52:52Website.
- 2:52:52It's actually based, the company's based in Australia, but it's all over the world.
- 2:52:56And they can place order, uh, print on demand.
- 2:52:59So it's free shipping worldwide.
- 2:53:03Um, you can place the order, you can order the book and they find a
- 2:53:07printer near you, like someplace.
- 2:53:09Let's say when you order here, maybe in Germany or France, and they ship it to
- 2:53:13you free, free shipping, free of charge.
- 2:53:16It's, I think it's 20.
- 2:53:17And that's in
- 2:53:17Rupert Isaacson: English, obviously.
- 2:53:18That's the English.
- 2:53:18Yeah, of course in English.
- 2:53:20There you are again.
- 2:53:21English book, that book.
- 2:53:22Stop by.
- 2:53:22So people go to book, book start by slash
- 2:53:25Ralf Daab: HHOL.
- 2:53:26You can put it maybe slash HOL living.
- 2:53:29HOL.
- 2:53:30Yeah.
- 2:53:33Rupert Isaacson: Great.
- 2:53:34And then they would look for, there you are again.
- 2:53:37Ralf Daab: Right.
- 2:53:37It's on there.
- 2:53:38You can.
- 2:53:39They can buy it, they free shipping and then they can read.
- 2:53:42So yeah.
- 2:53:43And
- 2:53:43Rupert Isaacson: if people want to reach, reach out to you and want to be,
- 2:53:46you know, well, they, they could send email questions about their own healing
- 2:53:49or wanna be part of your seminars or come visit Yeah, they could contact
- 2:53:52Ralf Daab: me.
- 2:53:53Yeah.
- 2:53:53How do they contact you?
- 2:53:55Well, there's, uh, by email's best like ralph@highonliving.com.
- 2:54:00Rupert Isaacson: So R-A-L-P-H Ralph, no FF with an F right in the German way.
- 2:54:05RALF at
- 2:54:07Ralf Daab: Hi.
- 2:54:08Hi.
- 2:54:08On living.com.
- 2:54:10High on
- 2:54:11Rupert Isaacson: living.com.
- 2:54:14Ralph, with an F.
- 2:54:15Ralf Daab: Yeah.
- 2:54:16Rupert Isaacson: High on living.com,
- 2:54:18right?
- 2:54:18Yeah.
- 2:54:18Reach, reach out to Ralph listeners.
- 2:54:20He's, he's, yeah, please do.
- 2:54:22Ralf Daab: Yeah.
- 2:54:22Uh, yeah.
- 2:54:23And come up here like, if you visit, uh, Germany or near
- 2:54:27Cologne, you cannot up be here.
- 2:54:28Yeah.
- 2:54:28Hiking.
- 2:54:29It's, it's a beautiful place.
- 2:54:31Rupert Isaacson: Well, I'm gonna, I'm gonna run up the, uh, a three.
- 2:54:35Yeah.
- 2:54:35Come, come here.
- 2:54:36Right.
- 2:54:37Take exit bat.
- 2:54:38Ralf Daab: Bat exit.
- 2:54:39Lin.
- 2:54:40You're right here.
- 2:54:40So bad Ho.
- 2:54:41Rupert Isaacson: Yeah, I know exactly where that is.
- 2:54:43We help someone buy a horse from Bad Ho.
- 2:54:45Uh, yeah, it's right here.
- 2:54:46Great horse.
- 2:54:47Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:54:49Ralf Daab: They're up here.
- 2:54:49They're 50 horses up here, so see them in the morning when they come out the stalls
- 2:54:54and like run and run and, and I, yeah.
- 2:54:57Well, maybe we'll do something with
- 2:54:59Rupert Isaacson: horses together then.
- 2:55:00Yeah.
- 2:55:00Yeah.
- 2:55:00It should come.
- 2:55:01That's, it's really wonderful.
- 2:55:02Okay.
- 2:55:04All right, Rael, thank you so much.
- 2:55:06Well, thank you, Rupert.
- 2:55:08It's been a, been a, yeah.
- 2:55:10Wonderful journey.
- 2:55:11Ralf Daab: Yeah.
- 2:55:11Great, great.
- 2:55:14Rupert Isaacson: Yeah.
- 2:55:14So any last words of wisdom before I click off the record?
- 2:55:21Ralf Daab: Last word of wisdom.
- 2:55:22Well, I would say it's all energy.
- 2:55:25It's Albert Einstein.
- 2:55:26It is all energy.
- 2:55:27And that's what I feel now.
- 2:55:29I.
- 2:55:30Going through all these journeys for the last four years is
- 2:55:32basically even with my plan.
- 2:55:34My plan, when you see it here, it was like this tall, basically in, in this button.
- 2:55:39It didn't grow, but it didn't die.
- 2:55:41But here it's growing like fast.
- 2:55:43I went a beautiful, so I know I'm at the right place because
- 2:55:47plant is feeling good, you know?
- 2:55:49Rupert Isaacson: So it's all energy.
- 2:55:51Ralf Daab: Yeah, it's
- 2:55:51Rupert Isaacson: all energy.
- 2:55:54That's right.
- 2:55:54As Nicola Tesla said, also, I think, um, if you want to know the secrets of
- 2:55:58the universe, you have to think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.
- 2:56:03Yeah, exactly.
- 2:56:04And it seems that, well, I guess every electronic device we use goes back to him.
- 2:56:08So Yeah.
- 2:56:10Clearly these guys had, you know, yeah.
- 2:56:15Had something.
- 2:56:16All right, well, all right.
- 2:56:17Parallel universes, um, vertical timelines.
- 2:56:23Medicines to help us radically shift our viewpoints.
- 2:56:27By the way, that, that's something I, I, I wanted just to throw in there.
- 2:56:31I was looking at the neuroscience of, um, of, uh, psychotropics and
- 2:56:36it does seem that what happens with people is massively, massively, um,
- 2:56:44augmented, uh, neuron new neural pathway development when these happen.
- 2:56:50'cause of course it's also new, similar to what you get with novel movement,
- 2:56:53novel ways of moving, BDNF, brain derived neurotrophic factor, which
- 2:56:58normally you only get through movement.
- 2:57:00Um, it seems that this can be massively boosted with the use of psychotropics.
- 2:57:05And I guess our ancestors must have known this.
- 2:57:08Yeah, of course.
- 2:57:09Um, yeah.
- 2:57:10Maybe that's that thing of allowing us to see mm-hmm.
- 2:57:13What we can't normally see.
- 2:57:15So there you are again.
- 2:57:17There you go.
- 2:57:18Buy it from books.
- 2:57:18Stop by slash HOL.
- 2:57:22Give Ralph an email at rlf@highonliving.com.
- 2:57:28Yeah, I guess we'll see you on the next looking forward.
- 2:57:30Ralf Daab: Yeah.
- 2:57:32Yeah.
- 2:57:32See you soon.
- 2:57:34Thank you for coming on.
- 2:57:35Thank you for having me.
