- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: The liberal globalist order is on its brink and awakening a new conservative age.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_01]: Dr. Steve Turley, join me every day as we discover answers to today's toughest challenges and explore the re-bondalization of conservative civilization.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_01]: This is Turley Talks.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's pretty obvious at this point that AI can be very dangerous.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, what I think would be wise to do as soon as possible, if not immediately, would be to have the major AI competitors test each other's models.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: So that you would have everyone's security test harness testing everyone's models.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: that that we we need to do better it was a safety or or we have
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: at this point, exponentially increasing risk with the AM models.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: That's Elon Musk issuing one of the most chilling warnings yet about artificial intelligence, but and this is just as important that was only half of what Elon said because the same man warning about catastrophe predicts AI will unleash abundance beyond anything humanity has ever experienced.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 1:26[SPEAKER_01]: which is it is AI a threat or is it an unprecedented promise that is exactly what we're about to find out.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_01]: Hey gang, it's me, Dr. Steve, your Patre professor, you're out.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_01]: You make sense of the madness.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_01]: We're breaking news in analysis.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_01]: You're not going to get anywhere.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_01]: I'll also make sure to smack that bell and subscribe button.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_01]: Elon Musk was one of the featured speakers at the All-In Summit Law Sanjula this week when he was asked to respond to anthropic CEO Dario Amadez latest warning.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_01]: that AI capabilities are developing faster than our ability to understand or safeguard them.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: Elon said that when researchers inside and thropic and open AI tell us that their own models may be dangerous, we should believe them.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_01]: We're asked to give an example of what he meant by the threat of AI.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_01]: He said this.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, if it were able to take control of military systems and
- 2:28[SPEAKER_01]: um... that would be bad and these systems are all airgapped though these systems are all not uh... connected to the internet so that's what they say but uh... something tells me they get software updates from time to time
- 2:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, not to be very clear Elon was describing a possible catastrophic pathway, not claiming that today's chat box currently control nuclear weapons.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_01]: They certainly do not, and his answer was not to shut AI down.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_01]: His proposal was to have the leading American and Chinese AI companies test one another's models before release so that competitors rather than companies grading their own homework can sound the alarm when they discover a dangerous capability.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_01]: In other words, Elon is calling for adversarial
- 3:20[SPEAKER_01]: peer review competition with mutual testing at the frontier and that distinction is absolutely essential because Elon's position is neither blind to optimism nor apocalyptic despair.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: In his recent interview, you may have seen it with the economists, with that rather insufferable woman that he ended up just making, he just made her look like a full half of the time.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: But he described his sentiments towards AI as fluctuating between exhilaration and terror all within the same day, right?
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: So in other words, since he's on the front lines of AI development, he sees both
- 3:58[SPEAKER_01]: the astonishing unprecedented promise of AI, but also the very real risks involved as well.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_01]: He's predicting that AI will exceed the sum of all human intelligence, which is known as the singularity.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_01]: in roughly five years and he still believes that the most likely outcome of all of this is an age of amazing abundance where intelligence and robots and goods and services collectively contribute to unprecedented civilization and prosperity.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_01]: What's so key here is that all this means that the real question is not whether AI is itself good or evil.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_01]: We have to understand that AI in many respects isn't really anything.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_01]: AI to be more precise, AI is a machine and machines don't work apart from men.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_01]: Machines don't work apart from people, a fork lift doesn't lift anything.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_01]: If you don't know how to operate a fork lift, I promise you nothing's getting lifted.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_01]: AI itself really isn't anything.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_01]: The question is, who will form it?
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: There's always a mind, a real mind behind the artificial intelligence, right?
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: Who is going to form that artificial intelligence?
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: What vision of humanity will guide it?
- 5:29[SPEAKER_01]: What civilization of values will encode it?
- 5:33[SPEAKER_01]: And which peoples will learn to use it without allowing it to use them?
- 5:39[SPEAKER_01]: We're actually already getting an answer to those questions.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's an answer that will absolutely blow you away and that's exactly what we're about to find out.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: emergencies don't wait for perfect conditions.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, one wrong turn, one breakdown, one unexpected storm, and suddenly you're fighting the cold instead of getting help.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_01]: That's why this tiny little orange bag matters because inside, if you can believe it, like magic.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_01]: is this full size heat reflective emergency sleeping bag designed to trap body heat and protect you in extreme conditions.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_01]: I've tried it myself gang.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: It is so warm.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_01]: It's amazing.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_01]: It's waterproof.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's windproof, bright orange.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_01]: So rescuers can spot you fast.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_01]: Emergency experts recommend having one for every family member.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_01]: It weighs almost nothing.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_01]: It fits in your glove box or go back and it works when everything else fails.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_01]: Sierra Mondra engineered them to be compact, affordable, and more advanced than bulky sleeping bags.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: They weigh 10 times less than a typical sleeping bag, but there's 7 feet long and 3 feet wide, so they'll fit anyone.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: A typical sleeping bag would cost you well over $200, right now they're marked down over 59% with free shipping on multi-packs.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_01]: You won't find these in stores are available right here.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_01]: Get your family ready today and save a bundle before the sale ends.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, and almost forgot the 10 pack ships free doubling up your savings.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_01]: Click below and make sure your family has real protection when it matters most.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: Now, if you're pouring in the shameless plug here, but in my latest book, Civ Cosm, God's Algorithms, and the rise of a civilizational cause democracy, I trace out the two dominant trends that are currently remaking world order in our time.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_01]: There's a radical religious demographic revolution that's happening, we're conservative religionists are all around the world, are having kids all the while
- 7:47[SPEAKER_01]: are not, and at the same time, there is a massive civilizational competition that's accelerating technological advance.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the key.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_01]: Those twin simultaneously recurring dynamics.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_01]: are the key to understanding just how extraordinary this new rising world really is.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's a world where populations are becoming more and more religious precisely because conservative religionists are having kids while childless liberal cosmopolitan globalists are quickly dying out.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: And this religious turn is re-awakening the ancient civilizations of old orthodox Russia, Confucian China, Hindu India, Ottoman Turkey, post-Malennial America, and these civilizations are competing against each other through massive technological acceleration and acceleration that has, well, as it's penultimate goal,
- 8:48[SPEAKER_01]: the moon extracting helium three in their lunar missions, which would through next generation nuclear fusion, it would power the entire planet, cleanly and virtually without limit, and then all to mid-lay, the ultimate goal at least for us now is terraforming Mars for an official interplanetary civilization.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_01]: That's why I call it a civilizational cosmocracy or
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: for short, the civilizational power competitions are extending beyond our planet into literally other planets, creating a kind of galactic rule.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's pretty astonishing stuff.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_01]: So this is one of the most important formulas for understanding the 21st century and understanding how AI fits into it.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_01]: The future will not belong merely
- 9:42[SPEAKER_01]: and it will not belong merely to the populations that innovate.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_01]: It will belong to those who do both.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_01]: It will belong to cultures that reproduce themselves through family, sacred meaning, intergenerational loyalty, while multiplying their power through AI, robotics, and economic dynamism.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's a both and it is not an either or.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_01]: scholars assumed that modernization meant secularization, right?
- 10:17[SPEAKER_01]: That technological advance meant the waning of tradition.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_01]: As society's richer, they believe religion would supposedly wither, and the whole world would converge around the same secular lifestyle.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_01]: That is emphatically not what has happened.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_01]: And that's precisely because the populations that are most effectively reproducing themselves are religious populations and specifically conservative religious populations.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_01]: The more conservative, the more kids.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_01]: So for example, already Jews were only about 10 to 15% of these really Jewish population about five decades ago.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: Today, they're nearly half, they're nearly 50%.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_01]: And that's making Israel more and more conservative.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_01]: Politically conservative and culturally conservative.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_01]: We're seeing the same thing in the states, one of the major reasons why red states are growing in population and blue states are shrinking.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's not just because of left to you, G's leaving blue states for red states, because red states are the most religiously dense states and blue states are the most secular.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: But at the very same time, this demographic shift is happening as the world is getting more and more civilisation returning to its civilisation roots.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_01]: Those civilizations are engaging in a great global competition, and that competition is what's accelerating technology to breathtaking rate.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_01]: America, China, India, Russia, the Gulf States, they no longer treat AI as just another consumer product.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_01]: They increasingly see artificial intelligence, semi-conductor capacity, energy, robotics, space infrastructure as expressions of sovereign civilizational power.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_01]: And so what that's doing is it's giving us a world where high fertility, without technological capability, is simply not enough.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_01]: a community may have many children, but if it rejects education, economic development, and modern tools all together, it may survive without shaping the wider world and it will ultimately be shaped by it.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_01]: On the other hand, a technologically brilliant society that no longer believes in its own future, no longer forms families, no longer produces children, may build astonishing machines for someone else to inherit.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_01]: So that means that the people poised to flourish are those who can bring the two together.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_01]: Demographic vitality and technological mastery, the altar and the algorithm, the family and the future.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: That archaeo future, that's the extraordinary promise of AI, becomes very visible in that.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: AI can function, not as replacement for humans or human vocation, but as an amplifier of both.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, imagine every child gaining a world-class tuner, tuner.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_01]: a PhD to the every physician, the tireless diagnostic assistant, who's accurate at the microscopic level.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_01]: Every small business analytical power once reserved for giant corporations.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_01]: Every scientist commanding artificial researchers capable of testing thousands of hypotheses in matter of minutes.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_01]: Anthropics, Dario Amadei, he actually calls us the compressed 21st century, the possibility that AI enabled biology could attend 50 to 100 years of medical progress in the little of just five or 10 years.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_01]: Now none of this eliminates the dangers Elon identified, that's why.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_01]: testing and transparency and human command of a nuclear systems, for sure, a civil liability and reciprocal international safeguards are not obstacles to progress.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: They make durable progress possible.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_01]: But bottom line, a civilization that sees every technology only as a threat, ironically becomes dependent upon civilizations that do not.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_01]: And a technological civilization that loses faith, family, and the will to continue will leave no one to inherit what they created.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_01]: So the winning synthesis is neither the omish option nor the machine option.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: It is an archio future assumption.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_01]: the most ancient sources of meaning, joined to the most advanced instruments of human creativity.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_01]: So yes, Elon is right to warn us.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_01]: Artificial intelligence could magnify human folly to an unthinkable scale.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_01]: But,
- 15:06[SPEAKER_01]: It could also magnify genius, compassion, creativity, and courage, and a faithful, future-oriented, technologically capable populations direct it wisely.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_01]: AI will not mark the end of humanity.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_01]: In May mark the moment, humanity becomes more fully conscious of its cosmic vocation than ever before.
