The USS Silversides, a legendary WWII Gato-class submarine and one of the most decorated subs from the war, has arrived in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, for a major three-month dry dock overhaul — its first in over 50 years. Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding is leading the charge with hull cleaning, structural inspections, and new protective coatings to ensure the vessel’s long-term preservation.
