- 0:00Speaker 1: You're waking up to Denver's Morning Show with Nina and Josh.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Mix 100. Well. Al Horan, formerly of One Direction, kicked
- 0:08Speaker 2: off his tour the other night in England. It is
- 0:11Speaker 2: called the Dinner Party Tour. And he played a very,
- 0:15Speaker 2: very sweet homage to his late bandmate and friend, Liam Payne.
- 0:19Speaker 2: I know. We know that Liam tragically passed away a
- 0:22Speaker 2: couple years ago now, which is so hard to believe
- 0:24Speaker 2: so much time has passed. But in 2024, by falling
- 0:28Speaker 2: off his hotel balcony. But Niall, after his song End
- 0:32Speaker 2: of an Era, he played audio of Liam speaking very
- 0:35Speaker 2: positively towards the future and can't believe what has happened
- 0:40Speaker 2: in their career type of thing. And it really just
- 0:43Speaker 2: tugged at all of our heartstrings. That video is going
- 0:45Speaker 2: viral right now. And I wonder if he did this
- 0:48Speaker 2: just for opening night of his tour or if he's
- 0:51Speaker 2: gonna continue this throughout the rest of his tour. We
- 0:54Speaker 2: know that Harry Styles right now in Madison Square Garden
- 0:57Speaker 2: in New York, He also did something for Liam, but
- 1:02Speaker 2: he hasn't done it with every single show. So I
- 1:04Speaker 2: wonder if it'll be like maybe special anniversaries, certain dates
- 1:07Speaker 2: and things like that.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe. It just feels like in 2024, it really
- 1:13Speaker 1: felt like all the bandmates of One Direction, which kind
- 1:15Speaker 1: of became like an iconic band, were leaning towards the
- 1:20Speaker 1: reuniting and maybe doing a reunion tour or something like that.
- 1:23Speaker 1: And then obviously that all kind of came to a
- 1:26Speaker 1: halt with the tragic death of Liam. I don't know.
- 1:30Speaker 1: I don't want to say it's going to lose its
- 1:32Speaker 1: luster if you play it every single time he's doing
- 1:35Speaker 1: one of his concerts. No, I agree. Because it's a
- 1:36Speaker 1: new audience every single time. True. But I think maybe
- 1:40Speaker 1: kicking it off and then special events, like you said,
- 1:42Speaker 1: maybe on.
- 1:42Speaker 2: The anniversary or birthday, things like that. Things like that,
- 1:45Speaker 2: for sure. Well, he is going to bring the dinner
- 1:47Speaker 2: party tour to Denver. That's going to be May 16th
- 1:50Speaker 2: of next year at Ball Arena.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Ooh. That's exciting. Well, Ella Langley, we know her very well.
- 1:56Speaker 1: We play her song Choose in Texas. And you know what, Nina?
- 1:59Speaker 1: We're helping her make history here because Choose in Texas
- 2:02Speaker 1: has just made chart history, becoming the number one longest
- 2:07Speaker 1: running song on the Billboard Hot 100 when it just
- 2:11Speaker 1: hit its 23rd week in a row at the top. 23?
- 2:15Speaker 1: 23 weeks in a row. Wow. This milestone, and this
- 2:18Speaker 1: is what shocked me, is that this milestone passed Mariah
- 2:21Speaker 1: Carey's All I Want for Christmas is You.
- 2:23Speaker 2: That's major.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Which spent 22 weeks at the Billboard number one. The
- 2:27Speaker 1: song debuted back in, I think, like November of 2025,
- 2:31Speaker 1: reached its first number one in 2026 in February. And
- 2:34Speaker 1: Ella Langley is like, it is surreal. It's completely changed
- 2:37Speaker 1: her life.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Completely, totally. And I love that Mix 100. We've been
- 2:40Speaker 2: playing it basically since the beginning. And yeah, Ella Langley,
- 2:45Speaker 2: she's just doing her thing. She's selling out Red Rocks.
- 2:48Speaker 2: The tickets are going for thousands of dollars for resale.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Yeah. It's funny. She said, in quote, I think this
- 2:54Speaker 1: has been the biggest moment for me where I've seen
- 2:57Speaker 1: where fans can literally change your life and your career.
- 3:00Speaker 1: She co-wrote this song. with Miranda Lambert, actually, and a
- 3:03Speaker 1: couple others. Her previous record holders include Shaboosie and Lil
- 3:07Speaker 1: Nas X, who they spent around 19, 20 weeks with
- 3:10Speaker 1: their respective songs, but 23 straight weeks of this song
- 3:13Speaker 1: being number one. I can't even imagine that. I mean, truly,
- 3:17Speaker 1: she'll never have to have another hit again. I know
- 3:18Speaker 1: she's going to because it's Ella Langley. But this is life-changing. Money,
- 3:23Speaker 1: records for her for the rest of her life.
- 3:25Speaker 2: All of it. It just elevates her popularity, her singer-songwriting,
- 3:29Speaker 2: all of it. Her whole career is elevated because of
- 3:32Speaker 2: this song now.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Yeah, so our cowboy hot hats are off to you,
- 3:35Speaker 1: Miss Ella. We're Ella fellas over here.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Yes. You're listening to Denver's Morning Show with Nina and Josh.
- 3:40Speaker 2: And yesterday, we went over to Spirit Halloween. To check
- 3:44Speaker 2: out some costumes because yesterday was the first day of
- 3:46Speaker 2: fall and we were like, well, Halloween's going to be
- 3:50Speaker 2: here before you know it. Let's come up with some
- 3:52Speaker 2: costume ideas, not only for you and I, Josh, but
- 3:54Speaker 2: for everyone else because year after year, sometimes it's hard
- 3:58Speaker 2: to come up with those costumes.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Well, yeah, it's one of the hardest things, especially if
- 4:02Speaker 1: you are trying to appease the boyfriend, girlfriend, whatever you're having,
- 4:06Speaker 1: because you want to do the cute couple's costume, and
- 4:09Speaker 1: that's tough, because you can never agree on one, right?
- 4:11Speaker 2: I know, the couple's costumes are definitely tougher, I think,
- 4:14Speaker 2: but a lot of people more and more like to
- 4:16Speaker 2: make their own costumes, and like to be very pop
- 4:19Speaker 2: culture friendly.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Always.
- 4:21Speaker 2: And so we tried to come up with some to
- 4:24Speaker 2: help you out, like the construction on Colfax. So bad. Josh,
- 4:28Speaker 2: you found a great Dolly Parton wig, and all you
- 4:32Speaker 2: had to do was add some basketballs to your chest.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Of course. You want to pay homage to those who
- 4:37Speaker 1: have gone before us, and obviously Dolly Parton being the
- 4:40Speaker 1: icon that she was and still is. Uh-huh. All you
- 4:43Speaker 1: got to do is buy a wig and a couple
- 4:44Speaker 1: of basketballs.
- 4:45Speaker 2: That's it.
- 4:45Speaker 1: And you are her. You're perfect for her.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Yes. We also got up in our video the Bush
- 4:51Speaker 2: from Bad Bunny's halftime show performance.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Of course.
- 4:54Speaker 2: And a couple more. So go check out that video.
- 4:57Speaker 2: It's on our Instagram at Mix100Denver. It's on Josh's Insta,
- 5:01Speaker 2: my Insta as well. And so, Josh, those were great ideas.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:06Speaker 2: But I feel that we could find even better ideas.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Continue off of this.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Again, you always want to be pop-culturally up-to-date on things.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Some that I found that most people were saying they
- 5:20Speaker 1: had the most fun with. This goes back a little bit,
- 5:22Speaker 1: but it's still very relevant. You could still be the
- 5:25Speaker 1: Coldplay kiss cam couple. You could act shocked like them. Yeah!
- 5:29Speaker 1: You could do more movie ones, too, if you want to.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Earlier this year, Toy Story 5 was released, and you
- 5:34Speaker 1: could be Woody holding a sign, I was replaced by YouTube.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I mean, just those type of topical, fun things.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Those are fun.
- 5:41Speaker 1: There's ones, heated rivalries, a massive one that you could do,
- 5:44Speaker 1: you know, the Just Roommates thing like that. I mean,
- 5:47Speaker 1: there's so many fun ones that you could do and
- 5:49Speaker 1: make more fun through your own creativity, right?
- 5:52Speaker 2: Absolutely. I wrote down a couple. I have, just locally, Lucifer.
- 5:57Speaker 2: I feel like that's always a hit.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Always a hit. Actually, I think my buddy went as
- 6:00Speaker 1: Blucifer last year, and everybody loved him. All you gotta do,
- 6:04Speaker 1: it's so easy. Those horse heads are like a dollar.
- 6:06Speaker 1: They're super cheap.
- 6:07Speaker 2: And then you just gotta pay yourself blue.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Yeah, easy.
- 6:10Speaker 2: So if you go as Blucifer, that always goes very
- 6:13Speaker 2: well with everyone out at the Denver bars here. If
- 6:16Speaker 2: you're looking for a couple's costume, I thought that you
- 6:19Speaker 2: could be maybe Punch the Monkey and Jimothy the Raccoon.
- 6:22Speaker 2: I mean, those were two huge animals of the year.
- 6:25Speaker 2: 2026 was all about Punch and Jimothy.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Absolutely. I think those are great. A couple other ones,
- 6:30Speaker 1: I think maybe a Labubu.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Okay, yeah.
- 6:33Speaker 1: That one is very relevant and topical. Along with that,
- 6:37Speaker 1: there's the new ones. Can we say the Fuglies? I'm
- 6:39Speaker 1: saying Fuglies.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Yeah, that's okay.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Very ugly, those ones. Those are fun. Those are ones
- 6:43Speaker 1: you can do. I saw someone actually go topical a
- 6:47Speaker 1: little bit because it's, I don't know, a throwback, but
- 6:50Speaker 1: he went as a Tamagotchi, which is kind of cute.
- 6:52Speaker 1: I'm just going off the keychain reference here. The Lububus
- 6:55Speaker 1: are keychains. You can carry those around, those type of things.
- 6:58Speaker 1: People will have a lot of fun with those. I
- 6:59Speaker 1: know that the Louvre was robbed earlier this year. Put
- 7:04Speaker 1: it in the Louvre! You could go as the thieves
- 7:06Speaker 1: and then the painting that was stolen. Those ones are
- 7:08Speaker 1: kind of fun. I like those topical references, you know?
- 7:11Speaker 2: Yeah, most definitely. And I came up with one that
- 7:14Speaker 2: I think will win you some costume contests for sure.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Okay.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Okay, you dress up, hear me out. You dress up
- 7:22Speaker 2: as an AI data center and you run around the
- 7:25Speaker 2: bar stealing everyone's drinks. You take everyone's drinks. You take
- 7:29Speaker 2: all the water.
- 7:30Speaker 1: I mean, that's a great way to get drinks for
- 7:32Speaker 1: free because you're just stealing it. That is freaking hilarious.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Good for you.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Well, you get the drinks for free or you get
- 7:39Speaker 2: kicked out.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Either way. I love that. Both.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Three things you need to know before you head into
- 7:44Speaker 2: the office today, including Arc Thrift Stores. They are opening
- 7:48Speaker 2: up its first outlet here in Colorado. I mean, of course,
- 7:51Speaker 2: We know and love Arc Thrift stores, they're everywhere, but
- 7:54Speaker 2: the first outlet is coming, and they are taking after
- 7:57Speaker 2: the bins style of shopping, which is becoming more and
- 8:01Speaker 2: more popular here in Colorado. Dare I say, it's finally
- 8:04Speaker 2: made its way to Colorado, because just being a Chicago kid,
- 8:07Speaker 2: this is something we've always done. And I was kind
- 8:10Speaker 2: of surprised that it wasn't here yet, but it finally is.
- 8:14Speaker 1: So do you literally just sift through bins of clothes?
- 8:16Speaker 2: Yes, they have bins of clothes, bins of electronic stuff,
- 8:21Speaker 2: just different bin categories. And it's like rows and rows
- 8:24Speaker 2: of bins, and you go through.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Can I ask a question? Sure. So I'm new to thrifting.
- 8:29Speaker 1: My brother, Joey, shout out Joey, he is a massive,
- 8:32Speaker 1: massive thrifter. I was not really into it. I'm more
- 8:35Speaker 1: of a name brand guy myself. However, that being said,
- 8:38Speaker 1: He turned me on to thrifting over the summer. I
- 8:41Speaker 1: have been a thrift king alongside with him. And you
- 8:44Speaker 1: can find some really, really neat stuff in there. However,
- 8:47Speaker 1: question for you. Does Ben's thrifting just seem a little
- 8:54Speaker 1: lazy to you? I like that I can go to
- 8:58Speaker 1: an ARC and see everything hung up and neatly placed.
- 9:03Speaker 2: And with that, yes, I understand because that is also
- 9:06Speaker 2: used stuff. There are a lot of bin stores with
- 9:08Speaker 2: actually new stuff that is just surplus coming in, unopened,
- 9:13Speaker 2: brand new stuff.
- 9:14Speaker 1: I love that. That's nice.
- 9:15Speaker 2: And then that's where it kind of gets just placed
- 9:17Speaker 2: into a bin. And it is separated by category. It's
- 9:20Speaker 2: still somewhat organized.
- 9:22Speaker 1: You're not going to find a hairdryer with the jeans. Right.
- 9:25Speaker 2: But, yeah, it is still kind of all over the place.
- 9:29Speaker 2: But for me, that's a little bit the fun of
- 9:31Speaker 2: it is searching through.
- 9:32Speaker 1: It's like cleaner dumpster diving.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Yes. Exactly. I mean, I still bring my hand sanitizer,
- 9:38Speaker 2: but that is exactly right.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Okay, I'm back on board. I like this. I like this.
- 9:43Speaker 1: This is fun.
- 9:43Speaker 2: So this ARC thrift store outlet that is coming is
- 9:46Speaker 2: actually going to be pricing it by the pound as
- 9:48Speaker 2: well instead of individual price tags. And what a lot
- 9:52Speaker 2: of these places do, and every place is different, so
- 9:54Speaker 2: I'm not sure if this is how they're going to
- 9:56Speaker 2: do it, but they will have a set price per
- 9:58Speaker 2: day that you pay. Like on Monday, maybe it's $ 3
- 10:02Speaker 2: a pound of stuff. On Tuesday, maybe it's $ 5. But
- 10:07Speaker 2: then on Thursday, maybe it's down to $ 2. It's just
- 10:11Speaker 2: different every day, which kind of makes it more fun.
- 10:14Speaker 2: But the first ever Arc Thrift Outlet bin store in
- 10:17Speaker 2: Denver will open up next Monday, October 5th. And it's
- 10:21Speaker 2: going to be at West Alameda Avenue and South Hooker Street.
- 10:24Speaker 2: And that's actually in my hood.
- 10:25Speaker 1: No way. I know exactly where that is. I drive
- 10:28Speaker 1: past it all the time. And that pricing range I love, too.
- 10:30Speaker 1: I know Arc already does kind of like a sticker
- 10:33Speaker 1: way where it's like, hey, if you got something, the
- 10:34Speaker 1: yellow sticker's a dollar. But I like the pound thing
- 10:37Speaker 1: because you could get something that's maybe worth.
- 10:39Speaker 2: $ 30, $ 40, $ 50.
- 10:39Speaker 1: For $ 2. 99. Exactly. So that I'm a big fan of.
- 10:43Speaker 1: I love that. I'll be shopping there with you. Okay.
- 10:46Speaker 1: This is one of my favorite things all year to
- 10:49Speaker 1: talk about. It's called Alaska's Fat Bear Week, and it
- 10:52Speaker 1: is returning this year, this week, actually, with 16 heavyweight contenders.
- 10:57Speaker 1: And it is a time where you can essentially vote
- 11:00Speaker 1: on these fattest bears that you see. Some reach over 1,400 pounds. Wow.
- 11:07Speaker 1: And there is no fat shaming here. We love a
- 11:09Speaker 1: fat bear. This is amazing. It's one of those things, Nina,
- 11:12Speaker 1: that Have you watched Fat Bear Week before, first of all?
- 11:15Speaker 2: I've seen it a little bit. I have a cousin
- 11:17Speaker 2: in California, and she's obsessed with the California Fat Bear Week.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Yes.
- 11:21Speaker 2: And she will send us updates, like weekly updates.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Because you can watch them on a live stream. So
- 11:25Speaker 1: what you do is essentially watch them on a live stream.
- 11:26Speaker 1: All you've just got to do is Google Fat Bear Week.
- 11:28Speaker 1: It's going on right now. There's a link right there.
- 11:31Speaker 1: It's the first one that pops up to watch them live.
- 11:32Speaker 1: And then you can vote of them. Vote for your
- 11:35Speaker 1: favorite one, essentially. Sarah Bruce, who's a park ranger there, says,
- 11:38Speaker 1: there's no such thing as too fat of bear. Noting
- 11:40Speaker 1: that the extra bulk is critical for... essentially surviving their hibernation.
- 11:45Speaker 1: And this year's competition features the entire Bear families, which
- 11:48Speaker 1: I love, highlighting both the added challenges of mothers that
- 11:52Speaker 1: they face feeding themselves and their cubs. Good point. The
- 11:55Speaker 1: defending champion, last year's champion named Chunk, returns. He broke
- 11:59Speaker 1: his jaw this summer, but he's all good. No worries.
- 12:02Speaker 1: And then alongside the offspring of past winners, Grazer and Holly, fans,
- 12:06Speaker 1: you can watch. And then the voting ends September 29th,
- 12:09Speaker 1: I believe. So get on, watch, vote for your favorite
- 12:12Speaker 1: bear because these guys are freaking adorable.
- 12:15Speaker 2: I love them so much. They're so cute. These chonky bears.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Love it.
- 12:19Speaker 1: 1,400 pounds of bear?
- 12:20Speaker 2: That's insane.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Come on. I love it. It's so cute.
- 12:23Speaker 2: And the third thing you need to know today is
- 12:25Speaker 2: staying single is gaining in popularity. Half of single Americans
- 12:29Speaker 2: went on zero dates last year. They are over it.
- 12:33Speaker 2: And most people say they feel happier and less stressed
- 12:36Speaker 2: than they did in past relationships just being by themselves.
- 12:40Speaker 2: In fact, one in four singles said that they would
- 12:43Speaker 2: still choose to stay single even if their perfect match
- 12:47Speaker 2: appeared tomorrow.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Jeez. Relationships are very hard. They are. It's taught me
- 12:55Speaker 1: so much more. My most recent one that I'm in
- 12:57Speaker 1: has taught me so much more about how I have
- 13:00Speaker 1: gotten very used to being single. Between my last relationships,
- 13:04Speaker 1: I was single for a while. And then in this one,
- 13:07Speaker 1: I've realized how much I think of myself, like how
- 13:10Speaker 1: selfish I really am. And how when a relationship happens,
- 13:13Speaker 1: you need to really think of yourself less and less
- 13:15Speaker 1: and less. And so they're definitely hard. I get why
- 13:18Speaker 1: people are choosing to be single, especially because this next
- 13:20Speaker 1: generation is only thinking about themselves. Right. But yeah, I mean,
- 13:24Speaker 1: I get it. It's comfortable. It's very easy to live
- 13:27Speaker 1: the single life. It is.
- 13:28Speaker 2: And that's the thing, too, is people are becoming more
- 13:30Speaker 2: comfortable just being by themselves, living at home by yourself,
- 13:33Speaker 2: and you.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Don't have to deal with roommates. Which is dangerous.
- 13:36Speaker 2: I mean, it can be. As long as you still
- 13:37Speaker 2: have a social life, I think it's okay.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Yeah, but I think the more and more you stay alone,
- 13:43Speaker 1: the more and more you prefer that.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:46Speaker 1: I grew up in a massive family, and I was
- 13:48Speaker 1: so easily able to tune out noises, because we were
- 13:52Speaker 1: just constantly noisy. And now living alone for a long
- 13:55Speaker 1: period of time, when we go do things with the family,
- 13:57Speaker 1: I notice every sound. And I'm just like, can everybody
- 14:01Speaker 1: shut up for a second? Is that OK? So there
- 14:04Speaker 1: are positives and negatives. I totally get that.
- 14:05Speaker 2: There are. There are. But I think a big positive
- 14:08Speaker 2: is people are like, hey, what are you going to
- 14:10Speaker 2: bring into my life? Are you going to cause more chaos?
- 14:13Speaker 2: Am I going to have to work harder because of
- 14:15Speaker 2: xyz being in a relationship? Or are you going to
- 14:17Speaker 2: make things easier and bring something to my life. And
- 14:22Speaker 2: vice versa, and vice versa. Yeah, totally. But it is
- 14:25Speaker 2: interesting that more and more people are just cool with
- 14:28Speaker 2: being single now.
- 14:28Speaker 1: We're gonna have no kids in like 15 years.
- 14:30Speaker 2: I know, seriously.
- 14:31Speaker 1: We're in trouble. Somebody help us.
- 14:34Speaker 2: I am completely unprepared right now because literal breaking news
- 14:39Speaker 2: just happened five minutes ago. Taylor Swift made another announcement.
- 14:44Speaker 2: This is not a joke. This is for real, for real.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Taylor Swift just made another announcement five minutes ago on
- 14:51Speaker 2: her social media because yesterday we found out she is
- 14:53Speaker 2: going to release a single on Friday, okay? But this
- 14:57Speaker 2: is added to that. She wrote out this big paragraph
- 15:00Speaker 2: about the life of a showgirl because she's coming up
- 15:02Speaker 2: on one year of releasing that album. And she said
- 15:06Speaker 2: when she went to go celebrate with her collaborators in
- 15:09Speaker 2: Sweden afterwards... that there was a studio nearby, and they
- 15:13Speaker 2: were feeling some type of way about all the excitement
- 15:15Speaker 2: of The Life of a Showgirl, and they wrote a
- 15:17Speaker 2: couple more songs. So, not only is the one song
- 15:21Speaker 2: gonna be released this weekend, but now we're finding out
- 15:25Speaker 2: four new songs are coming out on Friday, and Taylor
- 15:29Speaker 2: Swift is re-releasing The Life of a Showgirl, the encore album,
- 15:36Speaker 2: with these four new songs on it. This is major.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Marketing genius. This girl is so smart. The way that
- 15:45Speaker 1: she released just a little hint yesterday. Hey, I'm going
- 15:48Speaker 1: to give you a little taste, okay? Let's test the waters.
- 15:51Speaker 1: With a new single coming out.
- 15:52Speaker 2: When we were all excited.
- 15:53Speaker 1: People flipped for one song.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:55Speaker 1: And then today, she drops this about how excited she
- 15:58Speaker 1: was for last year and it being the biggest opening
- 16:00Speaker 1: week for an album in the history of history. And
- 16:04Speaker 1: then she drops four, like, Taylor Swift, you are a genius. Okay.
- 16:07Speaker 2: You're brilliant. She really is, especially with all the Easter eggs,
- 16:10Speaker 2: because now it's all coming together for me right now
- 16:13Speaker 2: in my mind, in my brain, because before she posted
- 16:15Speaker 2: this five minutes ago.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:17Speaker 2: I wrote out this whole thing for the Celebrity Quickie
- 16:20Speaker 2: about her new single, Patient Zero, that she announced yesterday.
- 16:23Speaker 2: And all the Easter eggs and the Swifties are going crazy.
- 16:26Speaker 2: And the Swifties called this album, literally called The Life
- 16:30Speaker 2: of a Showgirl, the encore. So I don't know how,
- 16:32Speaker 2: where they got that, but they got that right on
- 16:34Speaker 2: the internet yesterday. And on top of that, now I'm
- 16:38Speaker 2: getting in my Swifty mindset of figuring out Easter eggs
- 16:41Speaker 2: because she put... four zero emojis on her post yesterday
- 16:45Speaker 2: for Patient Zero.
- 16:46Speaker 1: She's so smart.
- 16:47Speaker 2: And now she's saying, I'm releasing four songs, so each
- 16:50Speaker 2: of those emojis was for a song.
- 16:53Speaker 1: When did she start doing, okay, I'm by no means
- 16:56Speaker 1: a Swifty. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I like
- 16:58Speaker 1: her music, she's brilliant, she's a great artist. However, when
- 17:01Speaker 1: did she start with these Easter egg things? Like, has
- 17:04Speaker 1: she been doing this since day one? Always, pretty much.
- 17:07Speaker 1: When she was singing our songs, A Slammin' Screen Door?
- 17:09Speaker 2: Pretty much.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Really? So she's been doing this for a while. With
- 17:13Speaker 1: the Easter eggs.
- 17:14Speaker 2: No, she just has this relationship with her fans, and
- 17:17Speaker 2: I think it started very young in her career where
- 17:21Speaker 2: she had this relationship with her fans, and then she
- 17:23Speaker 2: had these secret inside jokes with her fans, and that's
- 17:26Speaker 2: how the Easter eggs were born. She's like, I love
- 17:29Speaker 2: my fans so much. They're so smart. They're so creative.
- 17:31Speaker 2: I'm going to play with them a little bit with
- 17:33Speaker 2: the Easter eggs.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Would you say she's probably the with her fans. I mean,
- 17:38Speaker 1: she interacts with them so much. Totally. Even to the
- 17:42Speaker 1: other day where she was at the Chiefs game and
- 17:44Speaker 1: her mom brought her a sign to sign. Yeah. I
- 17:46Speaker 1: don't know if it's true. I don't think there's anybody
- 17:48Speaker 1: that interacts better with their fans than Taylor Swift does.
- 17:52Speaker 2: For real. And listen, I don't know if this is true,
- 17:55Speaker 2: but I heard a rumor that she invited some of
- 17:59Speaker 2: her OG fans to her wedding. Now, we still don't
- 18:01Speaker 2: know a whole lot about her wedding.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Okay, first of all, what I just said, I like...
- 18:06Speaker 1: after loving and interacting with her fans so much, we
- 18:08Speaker 1: know nothing about her wedding, essentially.
- 18:10Speaker 2: I know. But you know what? At the same time,
- 18:13Speaker 2: good for her. That's something for her and her husband
- 18:16Speaker 2: and for Travis.
- 18:17Speaker 1: And her family.
- 18:18Speaker 2: And I know it was this big extravagant wedding with
- 18:20Speaker 2: all the celebrities and whatever, but like you said, we
- 18:23Speaker 2: don't really know much about it. We really don't. And
- 18:25Speaker 2: I think that's great for Taylor because everything else in
- 18:28Speaker 2: her life is always front and center.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Yes. That also shows how in charge she really is. Like,
- 18:35Speaker 1: she makes sure if she wants something to get out,
- 18:39Speaker 1: it gets out. If she doesn't, that thing is gatekeeped.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Like lock, key, put an extra lock on there.
- 18:46Speaker 2: I love this for her so much.
- 18:48Speaker 1: She's a boss.
- 18:48Speaker 2: She really is. And the celebrity quickie was just quickly
- 18:51Speaker 2: taken over by Taylor Swift because it is what it
- 18:54Speaker 2: is right now.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Rightfully so. Exactly.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Rightfully so. She is Taylor Swift, okay? And she's giving
- 18:59Speaker 2: us four new songs on a new version of an
- 19:02Speaker 2: album for The Life of a Showgirl, The Encore, which
- 19:05Speaker 2: will be released on Friday. And she has all sorts
- 19:08Speaker 2: of Things being sold on her website, which that's a
- 19:10Speaker 2: whole other conversation that people have a lot of thoughts about.
- 19:14Speaker 1: I mean, she's selling three different CDs for one song. Yeah.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Yeah, she was.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Again. Yes. Marketing genius. Right.
- 19:21Speaker 2: I know.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Exactly. Hats off to you, Tay-Tay. Good for you.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Good for Taylor Swift. So this weekend is going to
- 19:26Speaker 2: be another Taylor Swift weekend with new music coming out.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Three things you need to know before you go into
- 19:32Speaker 2: the office today, including all that yummy food in the
- 19:35Speaker 2: suites at Empower Field. sometimes goes uneaten, but that doesn't
- 19:40Speaker 2: mean it's going to waste. Any surplus of food that
- 19:43Speaker 2: is made for the guests in the suites at Empower
- 19:46Speaker 2: Field goes to We Don't Waste, which is a Denver-based
- 19:51Speaker 2: food recovery nonprofit. And they work through a network of
- 19:55Speaker 2: more than 140 different local nonprofit partners across the Denver
- 20:00Speaker 2: metro area to hand out that food and feed people
- 20:03Speaker 2: instead of just throwing it away because that's what happens
- 20:07Speaker 2: a lot of the time.
- 20:08Speaker 1: You know what? I love that. I've always wondered what
- 20:11Speaker 1: they do, because they make so much food every single Sunday,
- 20:14Speaker 1: whether it's for the patrons that go or the people
- 20:17Speaker 1: that work there. I've worked a lot of Broncos games,
- 20:19Speaker 1: and they make amazing food. It's really yummy. It's really good.
- 20:21Speaker 2: It's really good. They have... Full professional chefs, big kitchens,
- 20:25Speaker 2: a lot of hands that go into making all this food.
- 20:29Speaker 2: And no, we're not talking about like the leftover nachos
- 20:32Speaker 2: that are half eaten in the suite. We're talking about.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Hey, those are good nachos.
- 20:36Speaker 2: I mean, they are good nachos. Don't get me wrong.
- 20:39Speaker 2: But that's also a lot of like hands and germs
- 20:41Speaker 2: and stuff on it. But we're talking about, you know,
- 20:44Speaker 2: obviously they make extra in their kitchens. Yeah. Because they
- 20:48Speaker 2: have an estimate of how many people are coming or
- 20:50Speaker 2: how much they will need. So anything extra that they're
- 20:53Speaker 2: making is what they give out to these nonprofits.
- 20:56Speaker 1: And I know they make not just the food, like
- 20:58Speaker 1: the street tacos and stuff that they make for the fans.
- 21:00Speaker 1: But again, I've worked these games. They are making steak
- 21:03Speaker 1: and chicken dinner, like nice dinners and things like that.
- 21:06Speaker 1: And you don't want that to go to waste. So
- 21:08Speaker 1: them doing this is really awesome. I know the Avs
- 21:10Speaker 1: also do this for when a player scores a hat trick,
- 21:13Speaker 1: they do. donate all the hats, which are like 500, 600,000
- 21:16Speaker 1: hats to, um, homeless shelters and people in need. And
- 21:20Speaker 1: I love that. Um, they're clean, they're de-louser, all that stuff.
- 21:22Speaker 1: But they, I like that they're not letting food or
- 21:26Speaker 1: props go to waste. I think that is really neat.
- 21:28Speaker 2: I think it's good and it's important to do. So
- 21:30Speaker 2: we got it, we got it right here in Denver.
- 21:32Speaker 2: And I love that.
- 21:33Speaker 1: We have great ownership with the Broncos and I absolutely
- 21:35Speaker 1: love them. Nina, this is a story that I think
- 21:37Speaker 1: is incredibly important, especially for Parents, families who have young children.
- 21:43Speaker 1: A new patient point survey of 1,000 plus U.S. physicians
- 21:47Speaker 1: reveal patients frequently bypass doctors. And they are doing this
- 21:52Speaker 1: in favor of online resources. And I don't understand why
- 21:56Speaker 1: we're going to chat GPT instead of the doctor now.
- 21:59Speaker 1: And this is for families that are Googling GPT. what
- 22:01Speaker 1: their children's symptoms are. And I get that, a quick
- 22:03Speaker 1: Google of like, hey, maybe should I take, like there's
- 22:05Speaker 1: a difference though. A quick Google versus chat GPT-ing the
- 22:09Speaker 1: symptoms here and self-diagnosing.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Not only yourself, but your children. Yeah, which is dangerous
- 22:15Speaker 2: and not okay to do.
- 22:17Speaker 1: I don't like this.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Because it's not only self-diagnosing, but it's also trying to
- 22:21Speaker 2: come up with its own remedies. And a lot of
- 22:24Speaker 2: at-home remedies happen as well. And sometimes that can do
- 22:27Speaker 2: more harm than good.
- 22:28Speaker 1: So that's the big thing. A lot of patients, they
- 22:30Speaker 1: said about 63% of patients experience rising anxiety when they
- 22:35Speaker 1: need to go to the doctor. Because obviously, I understand,
- 22:37Speaker 1: no one wants to hear anything is wrong with them.
- 22:39Speaker 1: But the doctors also know how to fix those problems,
- 22:42Speaker 1: you know? Right, right. So that's the big thing. They
- 22:44Speaker 1: say despite this, 97% of the patients still believe their
- 22:50Speaker 1: own expertise, their own AI. No. Almost 100%. They believe
- 22:56Speaker 1: that their expertise is the best on this, and they
- 22:59Speaker 1: say these AI-sourced health information are somewhat trustworthy. It's okay,
- 23:04Speaker 1: but they say that you shouldn't just rely solely on that,
- 23:07Speaker 1: especially if this could be something chronic or worse than
- 23:11Speaker 1: just like a common cold or things like that.
- 23:13Speaker 2: That's a lot. Can we just not do this? You guys,
- 23:17Speaker 2: we're finding out so much about AI recently. Like let's
- 23:20Speaker 2: just not.
- 23:21Speaker 1: We all know if the second you get a sore throat,
- 23:24Speaker 1: WebMD says you have about five minutes left of life.
- 23:27Speaker 1: So like you can't be trusting that all of a
- 23:30Speaker 1: sudden you cause your own anxiety. And again, I understand
- 23:34Speaker 1: going to the doctor can be scary. I get it.
- 23:36Speaker 1: But Be smart about things. Please. Please. Please be smart.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Oh, I got a free food alert for you. Chipotle
- 23:43Speaker 2: is celebrating National Quesadilla Day this Friday, and they are
- 23:47Speaker 2: giving us two days of free quesadillas. So on this
- 23:51Speaker 2: Thursday and Friday, tomorrow and Friday, you can get a
- 23:53Speaker 2: free Chipotle quesadilla with a $ 20 digital order on their app.
- 23:58Speaker 2: So it's an app thing. And no, you don't just
- 24:00Speaker 2: get a cheese quesadilla and call it a day. It
- 24:02Speaker 2: includes cheese, a choice of protein, optional fajita veggies, and
- 24:07Speaker 2: three different sides for dipping. You do need a promo code,
- 24:10Speaker 2: but once you log into their app, it will pop
- 24:13Speaker 2: up tomorrow and on Friday. I mean, it's one less
- 24:16Speaker 2: meal for you to cook this week. I'm going to
- 24:17Speaker 2: do it.
- 24:18Speaker 1: I might do that, actually.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Because I am so overcooking right now.
- 24:21Speaker 1: I freaking love Chipotle, too. It's so good. It is.
- 24:24Speaker 2: What a day today, Josh, because we know that Taylor
- 24:28Speaker 2: Swift just announced like, what, an hour ago that she's
- 24:32Speaker 2: actually going to re-release The Life of a Showgirl with
- 24:35Speaker 2: four new songs on it this weekend. So new music
- 24:39Speaker 2: to look forward to. And now we just got another
- 24:42Speaker 2: breaking announcement. Hilary Duff just announced an extension on her
- 24:47Speaker 2: Lucky Me tour that she's currently on. And she's coming
- 24:51Speaker 2: back to Denver!
- 24:52Speaker 1: No way! Okay, so that's funny. You and I went
- 24:55Speaker 1: to her concert earlier this year, and it was unreal.
- 25:00Speaker 1: It was the most nostalgic I've felt in forever. That
- 25:04Speaker 1: is the show, Lizzie McGuire, the one that I grew
- 25:06Speaker 1: up with with my older sister. She was obsessed with it,
- 25:09Speaker 1: so I became obsessed with it at the young age
- 25:11Speaker 1: of probably four to six years old. And it was
- 25:13Speaker 1: so much fun to see her and kind of have
- 25:16Speaker 1: her relive the early 2000s with us.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Truly, she really did, and she killed it over there
- 25:20Speaker 2: at Red Rocks, but here's the thing. It was one
- 25:23Speaker 2: night at Red Rocks, and Red Rocks is kind of
- 25:26Speaker 2: a smaller venue. It's iconic in its own right, But
- 25:29Speaker 2: it's kind of a smaller venue.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Yeah, it doesn't hold as many people as like Ballerina
- 25:34Speaker 1: or Empower Field or whatever.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Exactly. And so the one show at Red Rocks, you know,
- 25:38Speaker 2: a lot of people had to miss out. And due
- 25:41Speaker 2: to overwhelming demand, she's coming back to Colorado. But here's
- 25:46Speaker 2: the thing, Josh. It's not until late next year.
- 25:52Speaker 1: I know.
- 25:53Speaker 2: So we got to wait a little bit. But the
- 25:55Speaker 2: good news is she's not going back to Red Rocks necessarily,
- 25:58Speaker 2: but she is going to Ball Arena, which holds so
- 26:01Speaker 2: many more people.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Let's go. Yeah.
- 26:03Speaker 2: So, yeah, she is going to be at Ball Arena
- 26:05Speaker 2: November of next year. We do have to wait over
- 26:09Speaker 2: a year for it. But, hey, well worth it because
- 26:11Speaker 2: her show was great. So good.
- 26:14Speaker 1: So much fun. Again, so nostalgic. And that's worth the wait.
- 26:17Speaker 1: And she's in the middle of her world tour right now.
- 26:20Speaker 1: So I totally understand why it's going to be booked
- 26:22Speaker 1: out so far in advance. Right. But well worth the wait.
- 26:25Speaker 1: I mean, you guys, if you did not get to
- 26:27Speaker 1: see her, you need to go see her. She's fantastic.
- 26:30Speaker 2: You need to.
- 26:30Speaker 1: She's a heck of a performer, too. I know she
- 26:32Speaker 1: started as an actress.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:34Speaker 1: And now she's like solely doing music. And I love it.
- 26:36Speaker 1: I think it fits her perfectly.
- 26:38Speaker 2: It really does. And to answer everyone's questions, yes, Mix
- 26:42Speaker 2: 100 will have tickets to Hilary Duff's show to give away.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Of course.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Of course we will. Absolutely. This is a funny story
- 26:48Speaker 1: that Jimmy Kimmel recounted the other day on his show.
- 26:52Speaker 1: He was talking about how he got a little emotional
- 26:55Speaker 1: in the In Memoriam section at the Emmys the other
- 26:58Speaker 1: day because... One of his friends, Cleto Escobedo III, was
- 27:02Speaker 1: in the montage, and he said that was a really
- 27:04Speaker 1: good friend of his. And so he decided to step
- 27:07Speaker 1: into the restroom to kind of console himself and kind
- 27:09Speaker 1: of find himself again. And he said that while he
- 27:13Speaker 1: was in there kind of wiping tears, essentially, away from
- 27:16Speaker 1: his eyes, And he found that McConaughey, Matthew McConaughey, the
- 27:20Speaker 1: Matthew McConaughey, was in there using the urinal at the time.
- 27:27Speaker 1: And he said, okay, how are you? And Matthew McConaughey
- 27:29Speaker 1: actually turned to him and said, are you okay? What's
- 27:33Speaker 1: going on here? And he said he explained what was
- 27:35Speaker 1: going on. And he said how McConaughey turned mid-urinal and
- 27:41Speaker 1: gave him a hug. And he said it was one
- 27:44Speaker 1: of the most interesting things he ever experienced. And he
- 27:46Speaker 1: looks and he goes, he gave me a very nice hug.
- 27:48Speaker 1: And then he said, Jimmy ended up looking down and goes, hey,
- 27:53Speaker 1: is your thing out, essentially? Looking down? Stop! Well, OK,
- 27:57Speaker 1: you're hugging. First of all, you're hugging at the urinal.
- 28:02Speaker 2: There's so much wrong with this.
- 28:03Speaker 1: And in the most Matthew McConaughey fashion ever, he just goes, why, yes,
- 28:07Speaker 1: it is. Yes, it is out. They both said they
- 28:10Speaker 1: had a good laugh at it. And Woody Harrelson was
- 28:13Speaker 1: actually in the restroom, too. And Jimmy Kimmel said, at
- 28:16Speaker 1: the end of this, it turned into a group hug.
- 28:18Speaker 1: And it's one of the most memorable ways of making
- 28:20Speaker 1: me feel better ever.
- 28:22Speaker 2: My goodness.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Getting a side hug from Matthew McConaughey while his thing
- 28:26Speaker 1: is out. Wow.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Wow.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. I mean, come on.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Like, Woody Harrelson has to be also in the bathroom.
- 28:33Speaker 2: He's just, like, laughing. Because he's also, like, you can't
- 28:36Speaker 2: not laugh at that. Like, yes, it is a situation.
- 28:39Speaker 1: It is.
- 28:39Speaker 2: And we feel for Jimmy because he was going through
- 28:42Speaker 2: emotions at the time.
- 28:43Speaker 1: Of course.
- 28:44Speaker 2: But also, like, how awkward.
- 28:45Speaker 1: How awkward. I bet it instantly made him feel better, though.
- 28:47Speaker 1: You're getting a hug from Matthew McConaughey, okay?
- 28:51Speaker 2: And Little Matthew.
- 28:52Speaker 1: Yep. Nina!
- 28:54Speaker 2: Just saying.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Anyway. Anyway.
- 28:57Speaker 2: That's so good.
- 28:58Speaker 1: That was funny. Anyways.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Yesterday, I talked about Dolly Parton's estate, and things are
- 29:04Speaker 2: kind of heating up over there. We reported something weird
- 29:07Speaker 2: going on with Dolly's nephew being fired as head security
- 29:10Speaker 2: by Dolly's longtime manager.
- 29:12Speaker 1: What?
- 29:12Speaker 2: Well, Josh, maybe the nephew is the problem. So Dolly's
- 29:17Speaker 2: manager is firing back that he let Brian Seaver, Dolly's nephew,
- 29:22Speaker 2: go because he was threatening him about money, claiming that
- 29:27Speaker 2: the nephew wanted more of Dolly's funds and threatened physical violence.
- 29:32Speaker 2: So Dolly's manager felt that he needed to take action
- 29:35Speaker 2: to protect not only himself, but their team. And that's
- 29:39Speaker 2: why he fired Brian from all of his duties. This
- 29:41Speaker 2: may go to court. Who knows? But this isn't over.
- 29:44Speaker 2: We are going to get more updates on this because
- 29:46Speaker 2: they are actively going back and forth at each other
- 29:49Speaker 2: right now.
- 29:49Speaker 1: Why are you doing that? Like, why does, okay, someone
- 29:52Speaker 1: passes away and automatically everybody becomes more selfish. Oh, that
- 29:55Speaker 1: should be mine. This money should be mine. Stop it.
- 29:58Speaker 1: Stop it. You are given what Dolly probably put in
- 30:01Speaker 1: her will to you.
- 30:02Speaker 2: Right.
- 30:02Speaker 1: That's fair. That's it. There's legal documents telling you what
- 30:06Speaker 1: you deserve and what you get. why do you automatically
- 30:08Speaker 1: become more selfish and think you deserve more?
- 30:10Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 30:11Speaker 1: That's such a bummer because the way he presented her
- 30:14Speaker 1: death I thought was really a good way of putting it.
- 30:17Speaker 1: And he said that she asked him to do this
- 30:19Speaker 1: and he was very kind about it and well-spoken. And
- 30:23Speaker 1: now that this whole thing's coming out, it kind of
- 30:24Speaker 1: ruins all that.
- 30:25Speaker 2: I know, it kind of does. So this will be
- 30:27Speaker 2: interesting to keep track of. I'll give you updates as
- 30:29Speaker 2: they come out. And we are 90 Minutes Commercial Clean.
- 30:33Speaker 2: It is brought to you by ZeroRes, now offering three
- 30:35Speaker 2: rooms cleaned for $ 119. Go book online at zerores.com. And
- 30:42Speaker 2: coming up on the show, of course, we will get
- 30:45Speaker 2: to Know Before You Go at about the 45. And
- 30:48Speaker 2: We got that $ 2. 50 to give away later on, Josh.
- 30:51Speaker 1: Heck yeah, we do.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Don't forget about that. It's the Voice TV Trivia at
- 30:53Speaker 2: 9 o'clock. So much coming up on Denver's Morning Show
- 30:57Speaker 2: with Nina and Josh. But Lady Gaga on your radio
- 31:00Speaker 2: right now. Who's a new mom? I still can't believe it.
- 31:02Speaker 2: It's so weird to me, but good for her.
- 31:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:05Speaker 2: Something else you can find on our website is info
- 31:09Speaker 2: about Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. It returns October
- 31:14Speaker 2: 11th to Tivoli Quad at the Auraria Campus in Washington.
- 31:18Speaker 2: We want your help. We want you to help make
- 31:20Speaker 2: a difference in Colorado by signing up your own team
- 31:23Speaker 2: for the American Cancer Society's Making Strides of Colorado. Or
- 31:27Speaker 2: you can donate right there. But Josh and I actually
- 31:30Speaker 2: specifically need your help. Because we're trying to decide on
- 31:34Speaker 2: a team name. We want to make our own team
- 31:36Speaker 2: to walk the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. But we
- 31:40Speaker 2: were trying to come up with names yesterday. We haven't
- 31:42Speaker 2: quite figured one out. And as soon as we figure
- 31:43Speaker 2: one out, we will be able to officially make our team. Yes.
- 31:47Speaker 2: But we were trying to come up with different names.
- 31:51Speaker 1: So.
- 31:52Speaker 2: The one name that I came up with yesterday, Josh,
- 31:55Speaker 2: you kind of liked it, but then afterwards we were like,
- 31:57Speaker 2: is that okay to do?
- 31:59Speaker 1: Well, we kind of thought collectively it'd be funny to do,
- 32:02Speaker 1: not funny, but have fun with it. To make a
- 32:05Speaker 1: play on words, if you will.
- 32:06Speaker 2: A play on words, exactly.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Because a lot of people do do that.
- 32:10Speaker 2: They do. I've seen the team names before. They get
- 32:12Speaker 2: real funny with it, for sure.
- 32:13Speaker 1: And just have some fun with a great theme. that
- 32:17Speaker 1: we're doing here with a situation, you know? And I
- 32:20Speaker 1: think what we created is kind of funny, but there's
- 32:23Speaker 1: always more, and I think when you can have a
- 32:26Speaker 1: bunch of people come collectively think of a name, it's
- 32:29Speaker 1: better than just us two, right?
- 32:30Speaker 2: For sure. So help us come up with a name,
- 32:32Speaker 2: but what I have so far is the mixed mammaries.
- 32:36Speaker 1: And I think that's hilarious. And I love it. And
- 32:39Speaker 1: I'm so glad you said it. I know. I just
- 32:41Speaker 1: think it's funny. It's a play on words.
- 32:42Speaker 2: It's a play on words.
- 32:43Speaker 1: It also is an alliteration.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:46Speaker 1: And I think that we can have some fun with it.
- 32:48Speaker 1: But I mean, seriously, text in if you have a
- 32:50Speaker 1: fun name that you think of.
- 32:51Speaker 2: 303-691-1649.
- 32:53Speaker 1: This is for the Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk. So
- 32:56Speaker 1: we did have some fun with it with the Mixed
- 32:57Speaker 1: Mammaries right there.
- 32:58Speaker 2: Mixed Mammaries. I don't know if that's officially going to
- 32:59Speaker 2: be our team name, but we would love your help.
- 33:01Speaker 2: So if you have a team name you've used in
- 33:04Speaker 2: the past you don't mind sharing or you can come
- 33:07Speaker 2: up with another name, maybe including Mix 100, maybe including
- 33:11Speaker 2: Denver's Morning Show with Nina and Josh, something, just something
- 33:14Speaker 2: fun so we can create our team ASAP. Because that
- 33:17Speaker 2: really is coming up October 11th.
- 33:20Speaker 1: It's coming here soon. Yeah. Just a couple of weeks away.
- 33:22Speaker 2: Exactly. So help us out. Text in some team names
- 33:25Speaker 2: to help us out here. 303-691-1MIX. It's 303-691-1649. We need
- 33:32Speaker 2: a team name for making strides against breast cancer. And
- 33:35Speaker 2: you can find out more info on that at mix100. com.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Three things you need to know before you go into
- 33:40Speaker 2: the office today, including home buying. I mean, it's a tough,
- 33:45Speaker 2: tough thing has been for the past Several years in Denver,
- 33:48Speaker 2: prices just keep going up and up and up. But
- 33:51Speaker 2: if you're in the market for a house, you weren't
- 33:53Speaker 2: able to figure it out in the summertime, well, the
- 33:55Speaker 2: time to buy is coming up next week. This is
- 33:59Speaker 2: the sweet spot, so says a ton of realtors. Next week,
- 34:02Speaker 2: September 27th through October 3rd, is like the best week
- 34:08Speaker 2: to buy a home because it has to do with
- 34:10Speaker 2: seasonal patterns. in the housing market during spring and summer.
- 34:14Speaker 2: I mean, buying activity is at an all time high.
- 34:17Speaker 2: Families are trying to make the move before school starts.
- 34:20Speaker 2: We understand that. But with fall, you have way less competition.
- 34:24Speaker 2: Homes are still on the market because they usually pull
- 34:28Speaker 2: them in the winter time because it's really slow for
- 34:30Speaker 2: home buying. But in fall, homes are still there on
- 34:34Speaker 2: the market. And that also means the price will drop
- 34:38Speaker 2: for a lot of these houses that we're not able
- 34:40Speaker 2: to sell at the height of the season in the summer.
- 34:42Speaker 2: So next week, that is the sweet spot for buying
- 34:46Speaker 2: a house. So if you are on the verge of
- 34:48Speaker 2: giving up, don't give up that search. Keep it going.
- 34:51Speaker 2: It may happen for you.
- 34:52Speaker 1: One more week.
- 34:53Speaker 2: One more week. It could happen. You never know.
- 34:55Speaker 1: I did not know that. I didn't know that they
- 34:57Speaker 1: also kind of had their own seasonal swinging type thing. Oh, 100%. OK.
- 35:02Speaker 1: That's something to look out for. OK, Nina, this is
- 35:05Speaker 1: something that I was like, we have to talk about
- 35:06Speaker 1: this today. When I saw this headline, I thought it
- 35:09Speaker 1: was fake. So I had to check around and make sure,
- 35:11Speaker 1: and it looks as if it's real. Wendy's, yes, Wendy's,
- 35:17Speaker 1: the fast food chain, is releasing an emo punk rock
- 35:21Speaker 1: album today.
- 35:23Speaker 2: What? Wendy, the restaurant?
- 35:25Speaker 1: Wendy's, from where the meme, sir, this is a Wendy's. Yes,
- 35:29Speaker 1: it is. The Wendy's restaurant food chain is releasing an
- 35:32Speaker 1: emo album today. They teased... a graphic of their Wendy's
- 35:35Speaker 1: logo with side bangs swooping over one of her eyes.
- 35:40Speaker 1: They also shared that it is a six song soundtrack
- 35:44Speaker 1: on their Instagram story yesterday. It's dropping today. The soundtrack
- 35:48Speaker 1: they have, number one, She Said She Didn't Want Fries,
- 35:51Speaker 1: She Lied. Number two, Salt in the Wound.
- 35:54Speaker 2: Stop!
- 35:55Speaker 1: Number three, I Missed the Sun Room. Number four, The
- 35:58Speaker 1: Best Combo Meal on the Worst Night of My Life.
- 36:00Speaker 2: Wow.
- 36:01Speaker 1: Number five, It's Not a Phase, It's a Ten Piece.
- 36:04Speaker 2: I like that, I like that.
- 36:05Speaker 1: And number six, My Frosty's Funeral, which kind of sounds like...
- 36:09Speaker 1: I don't know, like a My Chemical Romance song or
- 36:11Speaker 1: something like that.
- 36:11Speaker 2: Right, exactly.
- 36:12Speaker 1: Now, it is unclear if that album's going to hit
- 36:15Speaker 1: Spotify or Apple Music or SoundCloud or anything like that,
- 36:19Speaker 1: or if it'll be sold on a CD at the
- 36:21Speaker 1: actual restaurant at.
- 36:22Speaker 2: Your local Wendy's. I'm curious how they're going to get
- 36:24Speaker 2: this out to people.
- 36:25Speaker 1: It's one of the funniest things. The top comment I'm
- 36:27Speaker 1: reading right now, which is funny that I just made
- 36:29Speaker 1: a My Chemical Romance joke, the top comment is a
- 36:31Speaker 1: fan joking that they are getting a Wendy's album before
- 36:34Speaker 1: the long-awaited My Chemical Romance fifth album. All right. It
- 36:38Speaker 1: looks as if they're doing this.
- 36:40Speaker 2: That's so weird.
- 36:41Speaker 1: I don't understand.
- 36:42Speaker 2: This is a Wendy's.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Why? I really don't understand. But it is funny. They
- 36:45Speaker 1: made Wendy a total emo. Little heavier eye makeup there
- 36:47Speaker 1: and the hair covering one eye. That's OK.
- 36:50Speaker 2: I like that.
- 36:50Speaker 1: I like that they're branching out. Maybe.
- 36:53Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Trying to bump sales. I think their food's doing fine.
- 36:57Speaker 2: I think so, too. I mean, Wendy's has just gone
- 37:00Speaker 2: on these weird tangents in the past few years with
- 37:02Speaker 2: their marketing. So this is just another one of those ploys,
- 37:05Speaker 2: but I don't know. No one asked for an emo album, Wendy's.
- 37:10Speaker 2: No one asked for this.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Hey, we also didn't. We did not ask. I'm just saying.
- 37:14Speaker 1: You're right. Their marketing team does those things. They're funny.
- 37:17Speaker 1: They do a lot of clapbacks with their marketing. But
- 37:20Speaker 1: going out with a whole six song, I guess, EP
- 37:23Speaker 1: album here. is pretty funny. So good on you, Wendy's.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Time will tell if they actually release these songs or not.
- 37:28Speaker 2: Right, which is also, by the way, two more songs
- 37:30Speaker 2: than Taylor Swift is releasing this weekend.
- 37:32Speaker 1: They're putting in work. That's one thing. They're putting in
- 37:34Speaker 1: way more work.
- 37:35Speaker 2: All right, your third thing you need to know is Rockies. Oh, Rockies.
- 37:39Speaker 2: They broke a record, and it's not so great. The
- 37:42Speaker 2: Rockies became the first team since 1965 with four straight
- 37:48Speaker 2: 100-loss seasons.
- 37:50Speaker 1: We're number one. We're number one.
- 37:52Speaker 2: Oh, man.
- 37:55Speaker 1: It's so funny. I am actually such a massive baseball fan.
- 37:59Speaker 1: I grew up playing baseball.
- 38:00Speaker 2: It's so fun.
- 38:01Speaker 1: I love baseball. It's in my blood. I played it
- 38:03Speaker 1: most of my life, my young life. Yeah. I'm a
- 38:06Speaker 1: Rockies fan, unfortunately. I really am. And it sucks, but
- 38:09Speaker 1: I'm a diehard Rockies fan. I love them. I love
- 38:12Speaker 1: the purple and black.
- 38:13Speaker 2: Going to a game is great. I will say that.
- 38:15Speaker 2: Going to a game is really, really great.
- 38:17Speaker 1: It's fun, kind of. Great Rocky dog.
- 38:20Speaker 2: It's not fun having that record. We can do better.
- 38:23Speaker 2: I believe in you, Rockies. Miley Cyrus on Denver's Morning
- 38:27Speaker 2: Show with Nina and Josh. And Miley just came out
- 38:30Speaker 2: with her new album last weekend. I listened to it.
- 38:33Speaker 2: Did you listen to it?
- 38:34Speaker 1: I haven't heard anything that's on the album yet other
- 38:36Speaker 1: than her single, which I liked.
- 38:38Speaker 2: I like her single too, but I will say her
- 38:40Speaker 2: album is honestly all over the place. Some fast songs,
- 38:44Speaker 2: some party songs, some are acoustic and slower.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Okay, so not a single vibe. There's vibes to this.
- 38:51Speaker 2: No, there are many vibes to Miley's new album.
- 38:53Speaker 1: Are you pro or against that?
- 38:54Speaker 2: No, I like it. It's totally fine, but it's just
- 38:57Speaker 2: different than what most artists do. They kind of stick
- 39:01Speaker 2: to one thing.
- 39:02Speaker 1: Well, it's been a minute since she's released something. Maybe
- 39:05Speaker 1: she had something in mind where she's like, hey, I'm
- 39:07Speaker 1: going to give you some bangers here, but also let's show...
- 39:11Speaker 1: Or just.
- 39:11Speaker 2: Like a collection over the years, which is all put
- 39:14Speaker 2: into one album.
- 39:15Speaker 1: Look, she has one of the, I mean, truly, like,
- 39:17Speaker 1: I know she started out as Hannah Montana, Disney star here,
- 39:19Speaker 1: but she has truly one of the best voices in
- 39:20Speaker 1: the industry right now.
- 39:21Speaker 2: She's so good.
- 39:22Speaker 1: So I'm for it. I'll listen to that. I'll listen
- 39:24Speaker 1: to her whole album today.
- 39:25Speaker 2: Yep, there you go. I love that. Love it. All right, Josh,
- 39:28Speaker 2: we're wrapping things up on the show. right now, but
- 39:30Speaker 2: first we have to admit our wrongs. What do you got?
- 39:33Speaker 1: Well, you talked me into loving something that I didn't
- 39:37Speaker 1: think I would love earlier, and we talked thrift stores
- 39:40Speaker 1: earlier in the show, and I... I'm really kind of
- 39:42Speaker 1: a name brand guy. Like, straight up, I like something.
- 39:45Speaker 1: I know when I see a name brand that it's
- 39:47Speaker 1: going to be quality. However, over the summer, my brother
- 39:50Speaker 1: really got me into thrifting. And then your story today
- 39:53Speaker 1: about thrift stores, specifically Arc, how they are kind of
- 39:57Speaker 1: making an outlet store where you shop from bins. I
- 40:01Speaker 1: was totally against that when you started the story. Like, truly,
- 40:03Speaker 1: I was like, what are we doing, dumpster diving here?
- 40:06Speaker 1: But then afterwards, the way you explained it and the
- 40:08Speaker 1: way that I found out the way they do it.
- 40:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:11Speaker 1: I'm totally for it, and I will be shopping there.
- 40:13Speaker 1: I'm very excited to see how this is going to work.
- 40:16Speaker 1: They charge by the pound. They're charging differently than normal
- 40:21Speaker 1: thrift stores. I love it, I'm pro it, and I
- 40:23Speaker 1: am now going to be shopping at this art store.
- 40:25Speaker 2: Oh, I love that you turned a corner on that.
- 40:27Speaker 1: I can learn. I can learn and be better.
- 40:29Speaker 2: Look at you, growing every day. So what I got
- 40:33Speaker 2: wrong is I've learned this lesson before. is just never
- 40:38Speaker 2: underestimate Taylor Swift. And I'm not saying that I did
- 40:42Speaker 2: underestimate her, but her announcement yesterday of her one single
- 40:47Speaker 2: patient zero I was like, oh, it's just the one single. No,
- 40:52Speaker 2: she came out today announcing four singles and a whole
- 40:55Speaker 2: new version of her album, Life of a Showgirl. And
- 40:58Speaker 2: I did kind of underestimate her this one time. I thought, oh,
- 41:01Speaker 2: just one single, that's okay. But she's like, nah, here's
- 41:04Speaker 2: a whole bunch of other stuff.
- 41:06Speaker 1: No, she is the gift that keeps on giving all
- 41:08Speaker 1: the time. And you're right, she gives those little tiny
- 41:11Speaker 1: Easter eggs, if you will, that these fans always pick
- 41:17Speaker 1: up on. And I didn't, and maybe you didn't.
- 41:19Speaker 2: I'm not speaking for you.
- 41:20Speaker 1: I didn't.
- 41:20Speaker 2: I did not.
- 41:21Speaker 1: She always gives more, though.
- 41:22Speaker 2: She put on four emojis yesterday, and now she's releasing
- 41:26Speaker 2: four singles. It was right in front of us the
- 41:28Speaker 2: whole time.
- 41:29Speaker 1: How did we not see it? We're blind.
- 41:31Speaker 2: I know. We're blind to her greatness. She amazes me
- 41:34Speaker 2: every single time.
