- 0:18SPEAKER_02: Running back rankings is, in my opinion, the most important thing that you could have nailed down going into redraft season.
- 0:26SPEAKER_02: I mean, you're gonna have your priorities and your values set out for you to make sure you have the most efficient and best draft that you could possibly have entering into redraft season.
- 0:37SPEAKER_02: But of course, I am Natter, and this is fantasy football spaces alongside Tip and Nico.
- 0:43SPEAKER_02: Hey guys, is talk about running backs the greatest thing ever or what?
- 0:48SPEAKER_03: I love it.
- 0:49SPEAKER_03: I mean, I the when I first started playing fantasy football, that's what the premier position was.
- 0:54SPEAKER_03: It was a running back.
- 0:55SPEAKER_03: If you didn't have Ladanian Tomlinson, if you didn't have uh, you know, Sean Alexander, one of those top-tier running backs on your team, and hell, sometimes two really good running backs, um, you were not a good team.
- 1:07SPEAKER_03: Uh so so I I that's what I remember um, you know, running backs being really specific to fantasy.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I remember my first ever draft pick was Adrian Peterson.
- 1:17SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah, I mean, running backs run the NFL and they run fantasy football.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: So I'm super excited to talk about it.
- 1:24SPEAKER_02: I mean, I still think they do.
- 1:26SPEAKER_02: I think if you don't have a good running back crew, your team significant disadvantage.
- 1:31SPEAKER_02: You could work with weaker wide receivers, in my opinion.
- 1:33SPEAKER_02: You could find some PPR monsters, you could find some guys to slip in in good weeks, good systems, but like you can't really do that for running backs.
- 1:41SPEAKER_02: Running backs, like if you don't have somebody that you know is gonna get 15 plus touches or at least five perceptions, then you're hobbling into a weaker scenario, in my opinion.
- 1:52SPEAKER_02: So that's why we're gonna be talking a lot about running backs, their rankings, and discussing, debating, and of course, arguing who should go in what position, because you know what, you got to find the value in the positions that you do, especially in considering the ADP is becoming a little bit more of like a gospel, if you will, where hey, one player is ahead of the other, so you want that player over this player over that player behind him.
- 2:15SPEAKER_02: And we're gonna be discussing, debating all that because we had just the pre-meeting before the show, and I just sat here and I was ready to argue with Tip on his rankings on it because I couldn't believe some of the players that uh he had in those positions, and I was like, like that's not correct, right?
- 2:31SPEAKER_02: Nico, you nailed it.
- 2:34SPEAKER_02: There we go.
- 2:34SPEAKER_02: You nailed it.
- 2:36SPEAKER_02: He agrees, he agrees.
- 2:38SPEAKER_02: Like looking at your rankings, nothing was right, nothing was right in your not a single thing, not a not a goddamn thing.
- 2:46SPEAKER_02: But of course, you know what?
- 2:47SPEAKER_02: We're gonna be talking all about running back rankings, maneuvering, and all that.
- 2:51SPEAKER_02: But of course, make sure to hit the subscribe button on YouTube and of course at XSFF Space.

- 3:06SPEAKER_02: And of course, you're also gonna want to make sure that you listen on any podcasting platform.
- 3:10SPEAKER_02: And if you do, leave a like, comment, and of course, subscribe on the YouTube channel as well.
- 3:15SPEAKER_02: But of course, we are going to head on to the news and notes.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: NFL headlines.
- 3:28SPEAKER_03: Look, I gotta talk to you about these dog days of the summer, guys.
- 3:31SPEAKER_03: I I am sick and tired of it.
- 3:33SPEAKER_03: Although the World Cup has kind of helped us out a little bit, but Nico, I know you got some news for us, man.
- 3:40SPEAKER_03: Talk to us about it because I hear that there might be an old familiar friend returning to LA.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so according to um Shefty on the Pat McAfee show, Aaron Donald told the team that he wanted to go to the facility and work out with the Rams.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: Obviously, talking about um the Los Angeles Rams, who just picked up Miles Garrett in the offseason.
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: Uh, my guess is in the end, he will be coming back to quote unquote play for the Rams if he does come back.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: Obviously, he's thinking very hard about it, and it has to be awfully enticing.
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: End quote.
- 4:20SPEAKER_02: Listen, that could you imagine that defense?
- 4:25SPEAKER_02: I mean, they already had a stout front line last year, and of course they completely upgraded with Miles Garrett, and then they go back to Aaron Donald.
- 4:36SPEAKER_02: That's tough.
- 4:37SPEAKER_02: Tough division already.
- 4:38SPEAKER_02: That's even tougher.
- 4:39SPEAKER_02: That's crazy.
- 4:40SPEAKER_03: How how many years has Aaron and Aaron Donald not played now?
- 4:43SPEAKER_03: Has it been three years?
- 4:44SPEAKER_03: Two two two years since he won the Super Bowl, right?
- 4:49SPEAKER_03: No, did he did he walk out?
- 4:50SPEAKER_03: Did he walk out on the sunset?
- 4:52SPEAKER_03: Did he did he did he do that?
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: Oh, looks like we need a snap.
- 4:55SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 4:56SPEAKER_02: Donald.
- 4:56SPEAKER_03: Okay, well, look, any either way, I mean, he's a middle-aged, 35-year-old.
- 5:01SPEAKER_03: I he's a freak.
- 5:02SPEAKER_03: I get it, but there's also other freaks on the field.
- 5:07SPEAKER_03: I I just don't know, man.
- 5:08SPEAKER_03: I mean, I'm I I I get it.
- 5:10SPEAKER_03: You he's not gonna be asked to do a lot, not like what he was in his prime.
- 5:15SPEAKER_03: Oh, there we go.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: Okay, yeah, let me see if all I know is that all I know is that if he does decide to, you know, get off the couch and and come join the Rams.
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: I mean, obviously they have the super team built out.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: So, you know, if he's gonna come back, it's not gonna be to you know someone else, it's literally going to be to the team that you know he won a Super Bowl with and wants to play alongside uh Miles Garrett.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: Obviously, all rumors at this point, um, but not necessarily anything concrete, but it's something to keep uh your eyes on in the fantasy community, um, especially if you are looking to maybe draft other running backs in that division.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: Um, in other news, uh James Boyd of the Athletic reported that Daniel Jones has been cleared to do everything ahead of training camp.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: Uh throw passes, run, eat, sleep.
- 6:09SPEAKER_01: Hopefully, not run.
- 6:10SPEAKER_03: No, he doesn't need to run.
- 6:11SPEAKER_01: Well, obviously, that is something that you know would affect him, you know, coming into this year, coming off the Achilles injury.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: But, you know, considering that is a pretty severe injury, it's very encouraging to see that you know, he is essentially cleared to do all football activities.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: So, you know, I think that really helps uh obviously the Alec Pierces of the world, the Downs, you know, the Jonathan Taylor, just that whole offense as in general, because you know, we saw that without Daniel Jones, it was pretty vanilla.
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: Uh, any thoughts there, gentlemen?
- 6:45SPEAKER_02: Oh, God.
- 6:46SPEAKER_02: Tip, kick it off.
- 6:48SPEAKER_03: No, I mean, look, I I just I just think that this team had its luster at the beginning of last season when they strung off all those wins.
- 6:57SPEAKER_03: Everybody was like, oh, this is a contender.
- 6:59SPEAKER_03: And then they get sauce gardener, sauce gardener gets hurt a couple weeks after that, and it just the team falls to part.
- 7:05SPEAKER_03: So I I I know I'm not gonna fall for it.
- 7:08SPEAKER_03: I'm not gonna say sit here and say Daniel Jones is um going to save this team or anything like that.
- 7:15SPEAKER_03: I'm just coming off the injury.
- 7:18SPEAKER_03: I know that they got that new thing that Aaron Rodgers did, and a lot of athletes, I guess we get the Achilles injuries now, they're doing it, and they're their the recovery time is is is less, but this is still a situation where the offensive line has issues.
- 7:32SPEAKER_03: You got the quarterback, or excuse me, the running back there with Jonathan Taylor.
- 7:35SPEAKER_03: They they don't know what they want to do with him.
- 7:37SPEAKER_03: I in my opinion, if you got Jonathan Taylor team, you better give him the ball the the rock 30 times a game.
- 7:44SPEAKER_03: You got to save Daniel Jones.
- 7:45SPEAKER_03: So I don't know what they're gonna do with this team.
- 7:47SPEAKER_03: I I'm out, man.
- 7:49SPEAKER_02: I mean, the problem is is you're saying, Oh, they got to give Jonathan Taylor the ball 30 times.
- 7:53SPEAKER_02: They they just came out and said that they want to give the ball less than him, and and we're I know, and it's crazy.
- 7:58SPEAKER_03: Like, how can you do that?
- 8:00SPEAKER_03: Like to sit there, unless unless they unless they get the other running back involved too.
- 8:03SPEAKER_03: DJ they got to.
- 8:05SPEAKER_02: I mean, Jonathan Taylor was already a workhorse type back that I thought was already being overused.
- 8:10SPEAKER_02: So at that point, I feel like it's probably a good thing that they try to prolong his career rather than uh just utilize him, squeeze him as much as they can, and then dump him to the side of the road, like what they typically do with running backs.
- 8:22SPEAKER_02: Uh, but according to Daniel Jones and that news, I mean, it's good for him.
- 8:26SPEAKER_02: I mean, he was kind of killing it last year to till he got his Achilles torn and then they kind of just tumbled and fell.
- 8:31SPEAKER_02: I mean, realistically, is there you go, there you go.
- 8:34SPEAKER_02: Say applause.
- 8:35SPEAKER_02: Good for him.
- 8:36SPEAKER_02: I like if he's able to pick up where he left off, it's a dangerous team.
- 8:39SPEAKER_02: And they did make the acquisitions last year that didn't work out, but they're still on the team, therefore, they should still have the efficiency effect of when they all come back together healthy.
- 8:51SPEAKER_01: Remember when they traded for Sauce Gardner and then proceeded to lose like every single game for the rest of the year?
- 8:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, uh, tough times.
- 8:58SPEAKER_01: Um next next piece of news is actually the fact that Colts running back uh coach DeAndre Smith um came out and said that they want to definitely find ways to take some of the workload off of Jonathan Taylor.
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: Um, I know Matt Matter, you know, mentioned it.
- 9:15SPEAKER_01: You know, transparently speaking, this to me feels like you know, preseason crap.
- 9:22SPEAKER_01: Like I'm not buying it.
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: You know, Jonathan Taylor is 27 years old, he only has a you know handful of years left of his prime.
- 9:29SPEAKER_01: You know, sure.
- 9:30SPEAKER_01: Maybe instead of him getting you know 25, 28 touches a game, like maybe it's more like 22 to 24.
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: At the end of the day, Jonathan Taylor is still going to be extremely efficient and be extremely productive, in my opinion.
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: So I'm taking that news with a grain of salt.
- 9:47SPEAKER_02: I mean, I'm already not a fan of Jonathan Taylor to me.
- 9:52SPEAKER_02: Like, this just gives me all the more reason to sit there and say, Yeah, you know what?
- 9:56SPEAKER_02: I'm validated at this point.
- 9:58SPEAKER_02: I am I'm proven correct at this point that he's not necessarily somebody that you want to be targeting in your redrafts.
- 10:04SPEAKER_02: And of course, we're talking running backs today, so we're definitely gonna be talking about Jonathan Taylor a lot in this episode because you guys have him just so high up on your rankings.
- 10:14SPEAKER_01: Hey Tip, uh we'll talk about that in a moment.
- 10:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, what you got?
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: Well, we'll talk about we'll dive into it.
- 10:21SPEAKER_01: Uh, you know what uh your boy Derek Carr is up to these days by chance?
- 10:24SPEAKER_03: Uh I don't care, but okay.
- 10:26SPEAKER_03: He was a raider, but what well, anyways.
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: Uh Derek Carr was speaking on NFL Network's good morning football uh last Friday.
- 10:34SPEAKER_01: Uh legacy raider quarterback.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: Um, said that clubs have been legacy raider.
- 10:39SPEAKER_03: Whoa, whoa, whoa, that does not go with Derek Carr.
- 10:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it is Raider quarterback.
- 10:44SPEAKER_03: You need to take the legacy out.
- 10:45SPEAKER_03: Sorry.
- 10:46SPEAKER_02: He next to the joke.
- 10:48SPEAKER_03: He that was the joke.
- 10:52SPEAKER_01: Regardless, uh clubs have been calling him, clubs have been reaching out to him, and he quote unquote hasn't been slamming the door completely on a return if the right situation arose.
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: Uh Kevin Patra of NFL.com reported.
- 11:07SPEAKER_01: Uh probably not much legs there, but you know, I had to say something.
- 11:13SPEAKER_03: I mean, it's you know, I would imagine that legacy does not need to be in front of his name.
- 11:19SPEAKER_03: I'm sorry.
- 11:20SPEAKER_02: Other than Rich Gannon, who was better than Derek Carr?
- 11:23SPEAKER_03: Say that again.
- 11:25SPEAKER_02: Uh, Raiders' quarterbacks, other than Rich Gannon, who was better than Derek Carr?
- 11:30SPEAKER_03: Well, I mean, you got Jim Plunk, and now these are quarterbacks that were before my time, but Jim, Jeff Hottler, don't care.
- 11:37SPEAKER_02: You got Marcus Russell.
- 11:39SPEAKER_03: Well, I mean, they did good.
- 11:40SPEAKER_03: I mean, come on.
- 11:42SPEAKER_02: What do you mean?
- 11:44SPEAKER_02: Like, literally, like Derek Carr is like the best draft pick the Raiders had in the last like let's go to the next segment, please.
- 11:50SPEAKER_03: Please.
- 11:50SPEAKER_03: No, no, no.
- 11:51SPEAKER_03: Last piece of news.
- 11:52SPEAKER_01: Last piece of news.
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: Malik, this is important.
- 11:54SPEAKER_01: Last piece of news.
- 11:55SPEAKER_01: Malik neighbors could miss the uh first four to five games of the season.
- 11:59SPEAKER_01: Uh Jordan Ramon of ESPN is the source.
- 12:03SPEAKER_01: I think we've all kind of you know had thoughts around this.
- 12:06SPEAKER_01: We've been hearing rumors about it, but you know, someone from ESPN, you know, coming out and I guess further solidifying that he could miss the first four or five games.
- 12:16SPEAKER_01: Guys, I think we're looking at a pup list to start.
- 12:20SPEAKER_01: I don't think we're gonna be seeing them.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: So, however you view the Giants offense, um, all you fantasy uh managers out there, I would proactively plan for no Malik neighbors for the first couple of weeks of the season.
- 12:33SPEAKER_01: But um, let's get into some running backs.
- 12:35SPEAKER_01: Let's do it.
- 12:37SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
- 12:38SPEAKER_02: All right, you know what?
- 12:38SPEAKER_02: We're gonna hit some running backs rankings, and of course, you know, we have some tiers along with it if you really want to incorporate that into the way that you look at running backs.
- 12:48SPEAKER_02: But of course, in my opinion, it's not the biggest importance of the world, but let's start talking about some running backs, running back tiers.
- 13:02SPEAKER_03: All right, Natter.
- 13:03SPEAKER_03: So I I you you are the lone wolf here when it comes to the number one um running back, and you chose Bijan Robinson, who I absolutely love.
- 13:14SPEAKER_03: Uh, however, this year, Nico and myself picked Jameer Gibbs.
- 13:18SPEAKER_03: Why Bijan this year?
- 13:20SPEAKER_02: I mean, just take a look at him and his resume.
- 13:24SPEAKER_02: It's the epitome of consistency that only realistically Christian McCaffrey has when he's healthy.
- 13:30SPEAKER_02: I mean, you're talking about a guy that doesn't get game script out of the games.
- 13:34SPEAKER_02: You're talking about a guy, if they're down, he's getting receptions, they're up, they're getting uh carries, he's getting touchdowns regardless.
- 13:40SPEAKER_02: The offense revolves around him with the Lions, it doesn't necessarily revolve around Gibbs, it revolves around Amon Ross Lane Brown, Laporta, Gibbs, everybody into that offense with with Bijan.
- 13:53SPEAKER_02: Like he is the guy on that team.
- 13:55SPEAKER_02: You could sprinkle in a little bit of Drake London, you could sprinkle in a little bit of, you know, I'm not even gonna talk about the tight end.
- 14:01SPEAKER_03: You better say his name, you better say Kyle Pitts, sir.
- 14:03SPEAKER_02: I'm not saying he's just not paying, you gotta respect him.
- 14:06SPEAKER_02: I ain't respecting anything, I will not put respect on his name.
- 14:09SPEAKER_02: And you know, will offense on the pits dance, I'm telling you.
- 14:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, okay, but hey, okay.
- 14:13SPEAKER_02: Like he he is the offense, and not only that, he has the better division to play against, he doesn't really have an elite defense in the division that you're like, Oh man, you know, it's a tough matchup for him, but you know what?
- 14:25SPEAKER_02: I still think he'll get it done.
- 14:26SPEAKER_02: No, he's when he plays a divisional team, you expect like 15-20 fantasy points, bare minimum with him, and that's kind of how I rate my rankings on a lot of the players when I do look at them.
- 14:37SPEAKER_02: Is how easy is it or I should say, how easy is it for you to accumulate 15 fantasy points?
- 14:44SPEAKER_02: Can you do it without getting a touchdown?
- 14:45SPEAKER_02: Can you do it with just receptions and yards?
- 14:48SPEAKER_02: Can you do it with both?
- 14:49SPEAKER_02: Can you do it with um or are you touchdown dependent in order to get 15 fantasy points?
- 14:54SPEAKER_02: Do you need multiple touchdowns to get 15 fantasy points, or do you need an injury for you to be able to get 15 fantasy points for the guy ahead of you?
- 15:01SPEAKER_02: And with B.
- 15:02SPEAKER_02: John Robinson, if he puts up 15 fantasy points, I expect it to say zero touchdowns that day because that's like the bare minimum with him.
- 15:08SPEAKER_02: With Gibbs, I have no idea what it is because it's his first time being in that spot.
- 15:14SPEAKER_03: Nico, you want to go on this one, or you want me to respond first?
- 15:18SPEAKER_03: You're already on the floor, man.
- 15:20SPEAKER_01: Go for it.
- 15:20SPEAKER_03: Okay, all right.
- 15:21SPEAKER_03: Look, you you just talked a lot about offense, and who's on a better offense as of right now?
- 15:28SPEAKER_03: We know the Detroit Lions is a better offense, we don't even know who their quarterback's gonna be right now, Natter.
- 15:34SPEAKER_03: And yes, I agree with you as far as Bijan Robinson being the focal point in that offense, he is the offense, even though they've got some studs on that offense as well, including Kyle Pitts.
- 15:44SPEAKER_03: And so I I look, they they've got a lot of questions to answer, especially with a new offensive uh philosophy scheme.
- 15:53SPEAKER_03: I do like it for B.
- 15:54SPEAKER_03: John Robinson with um uh Kevin Stavansky being there, but he's Kevin Stavansky.
- 16:00SPEAKER_03: Other than that, I think it was that one year where Nick Chubb just went crazy bananas.
- 16:04SPEAKER_03: He usually would share the rock with another running back.
- 16:06SPEAKER_03: So I do think that Brian Robinson's gonna become something a little bit more.
- 16:11SPEAKER_03: They're gonna want to look.
- 16:12SPEAKER_03: Bijan has not he every season he's played, he's been healthy, and you want to keep him that way, and you want to make sure that you monitor his touches the best that you can.
- 16:20SPEAKER_03: And I think that that's gonna start to scale down a little bit because he is such a weapon, he is such a force.
- 16:26SPEAKER_03: Nico, what do you think?
- 16:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, for me, I have Gibbs as my number one um running back in my rankings over Bijan, and it's it's truthfully one simple reason.
- 16:37SPEAKER_01: It's the better offense and it's a lesser RB2 in the room for competition.
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: I truly believe that you know Brian Robinson um junior is a better version of what he is today compared to what Isaiah Pacheco is in Detroit.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: And when you look at fantasy points, like I see Gibbs getting more touchdowns and all of their production efficiency and opportunity numbers uh do align very closely, you know.
- 17:03SPEAKER_01: But at that point, I'm looking at the tiebreaker as you know, the Lions have the significantly better offense, and I believe that Gibbs and his 18 touchdowns from last year is obviously a ceiling, but I see him getting in the end zone more than Bijan does, and for that reason, I ranked Gibbs over Bijan as my number one running back.
- 17:25SPEAKER_03: And and and one other thing too, Natter, like I I feel that just like you talked about how Bijan can't get scripted out of games, that's really the same thing for Jameer Gibbs because if he's gonna if if they're down big, he's gonna be on the field because they're gonna be passing a lot.
- 17:40SPEAKER_03: If they're up big, he's gonna be on the field as well.
- 17:43SPEAKER_03: I mean, yeah, you might sprinkle in some Pacheco here and there as a grinding out if they're like blowing somebody out, but but I think that he's just as as as game scripted proof or matchup, or whatever you want to call it.
- 17:56SPEAKER_03: I I think that Jameer Gibbs is just that dude, it it's really comes down to the offense and the question marks um that the Atlanta Falcons have.
- 18:04SPEAKER_03: But uh Nico, I think you got the next one.
- 18:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and just to put a bow on this conversation, I know we talked about it a handful of weeks ago.
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: Like ultimately, they're both fantastic picks, but if you're coming through it, you have to come together with a tiebreaker.
- 18:19SPEAKER_01: And you know, at the end of the day, when you look at total offense, I'm actually shocked Natter didn't go with Gibbs.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: You know, you've talked a lot about you know uh drafting good players on good teams, and I I'm not gonna sit here and say the Falcons are a great team, but they're denying like like I do believe Bijan is the better running back, but when you look at the two teams and the offenses and the production that I expect them to put up, like Gibbs is gonna be the focal point and you know score more touchdowns.
- 18:49SPEAKER_03: So well, look, we got we got we got D bro in the building, and Debro says that Bijon's doing he's doing 1k1k this year.
- 18:58SPEAKER_02: I mean, I'm not wrong, he is going one.
- 19:00SPEAKER_02: I and see see with with Bijan, and you guys say, like, oh, he has he doesn't have uh a good quarterback, but I mean he's done it without without a good quarterback his whole career, which is why I'm a little bit more true uh safe for or you know, more willing to take a risk on a player like that, even though it's not even a risk, because um he's just done it for so long, he's just so consistent, and he could do it without the the the game script going in his favor, like we always mention.
- 19:26SPEAKER_02: And um stop saying the game because no, because the games is is just as game script with golf and my concern with him is that when he has a bad game, he just makes it so much worse.
- 19:39SPEAKER_02: Like he is known for his five interception games where he just kind of implodes.
- 19:44SPEAKER_02: So sometimes when the game script goes bad, you think, Oh, he's gonna get receptions, but with golf, sometimes it just kind of gets out of hand in a really awkward way.
- 19:55SPEAKER_01: Well, one thing that I do know is that we hardly us three, we hardly agree on anything, but somehow, some way we ought to have Jonathan Taylor as our RB5.
- 20:10SPEAKER_01: Now, I'm gonna give a couple reasons as to why I have him there.
- 20:14SPEAKER_01: And number one for me is the evolution of James Cook and his potential to get more receiving work this year.
- 20:21SPEAKER_01: Uh, we talked about it on our show last week.
- 20:24SPEAKER_01: Um, they came out and said that they're trying to get James Cook more involved in the past game.
- 20:28SPEAKER_01: He is one of the most elite runners in the NFL.
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: And the one downfall for James Cook has been his receiving upside.
- 20:37SPEAKER_01: You know, he's been averaging about 40 targets a year.
- 20:40SPEAKER_01: And if we can get that number, you know, closer to 60, 70 or so targets.
- 20:45SPEAKER_01: I mean, James Cook to me is a more efficient runner than Jonathan Taylor, which is why when I went through my rankings, I decided to go with James Cook at four and um Jonathan Taylor at five.
- 20:59SPEAKER_01: Second reason, it is a little bit about the offense.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: I mean, I'm I'm a little worried about the Colts offense with Daniel Jones coming off the Achilles chair.
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: I know we talked about it earlier, and you know, he's up and moving, he's you know, participating and is a full go, if you will.
- 21:17SPEAKER_01: But all the talks about you know reducing JT's workload and things like that, combine that with the Bills just having a better overall offense.
- 21:27SPEAKER_01: That was the decision breaker for me to slide James Cook up to four and Jonathan Taylor to number five.
- 21:35SPEAKER_02: So with Jonathan Taylor, with Jonathan Taylor at five, I have him there out of like decency.
- 21:43SPEAKER_02: He's a hard, don't draft.
- 21:45SPEAKER_02: He's a hard ignore him.
- 21:47SPEAKER_02: He's he's like, Yeah, I'd rather you take a wide receiver than take Jonathan Taylor.
- 21:53SPEAKER_02: And there's multiple reasons that we discussed earlier either the the touches regression, the offense, the system, but a Lot of it is actually just kind of like the momentum of the schedule that he has.
- 22:04SPEAKER_02: I mean, week one, two and three, he goes against the Ravens, Chiefs, and Texans.
- 22:08SPEAKER_02: Bad matchups to start the year.
- 22:10SPEAKER_02: But honestly, what really kind of like uh makes me shy away from him a little bit more than everything that goes on, other than the fact that they historically combust near the end of the season.
- 22:20SPEAKER_02: But he has a work week 13 bye.
- 22:22SPEAKER_02: So for a lot of people, that's like the week before playoffs.
- 22:25SPEAKER_02: And if you're in a win it to in it type of scenario and he's on a bye, you lost.
- 22:31SPEAKER_02: Like you lost your week.
- 22:32SPEAKER_02: That's it, it's over for you.
- 22:33SPEAKER_02: The season's done.
- 22:34SPEAKER_02: And say you happen to make your way past that, he goes against the Eagles, another bad matchup, and you're probably bounced out of playoffs there anyway.
- 22:42SPEAKER_02: So, like well, then why do you have him at five?
- 22:44SPEAKER_02: It's just out of respect at that point.
- 22:46SPEAKER_03: It's like oh, you're still doing the respect thing, okay.
- 22:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like if I took him out of the list in general, then like it's just not a legitimate list.
- 22:54SPEAKER_02: Like, I have to put him there out of like I just have to put him in there, but like he he's just not draftable, in my opinion.
- 23:02SPEAKER_02: I I don't want him on my roster.
- 23:04SPEAKER_02: I feel like somebody else has to um take the fall for you.
- 23:09SPEAKER_02: Let somebody else make that mistake, not you.
- 23:11SPEAKER_02: Like, you could take him on Ron the same brown, he's a lot more consistent in that spot.
- 23:15SPEAKER_02: You could take um any other wide receiver in that spot, you can just go for another RB.
- 23:20SPEAKER_02: James Cook is probably going to be available at that point.
- 23:22SPEAKER_02: I know we all have him consistent as five, but I don't think his ADP is five.
- 23:26SPEAKER_02: I think it's a little bit higher, if uh if I'm not correct on that.
- 23:30SPEAKER_01: I wanted to just point out, but Kyle beat me to it.
- 23:35SPEAKER_01: Let's not worry about December and July.
- 23:38SPEAKER_01: You have to.
- 23:39SPEAKER_01: You have to I listen.
- 23:40SPEAKER_01: I how about this?
- 23:44SPEAKER_01: Let's go off script a little bit.
- 23:46SPEAKER_01: Do you guys look at bye weeks like when you're drafting?
- 23:50SPEAKER_01: Because I don't think change so much during a season when it comes to like waiver wire pickups, trades that you make.
- 23:58SPEAKER_01: Like to me, like I'm never looking at you know, bye weeks at the like at this point.
- 24:03SPEAKER_01: I'm looking at best value, I'm looking at you know, people that I think have given me the best chance and the best upside to obviously win my league.
- 24:11SPEAKER_01: So much, so many things change like during a season that you know I'm not looking at stuff like that.
- 24:17SPEAKER_01: Week 13 is pretty late, though.
- 24:19SPEAKER_03: I will say it's an awkward stuff.
- 24:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 24:24SPEAKER_03: And that is, and but what I will say is I do look at bye weeks when I'm when I it depends on what type of league you're in, of course.
- 24:31SPEAKER_03: Um, but but if I'm I I do look at bye weeks just to just to know, just to be like, okay, I'm I'm safe, or oh, okay, week 10, I'm but I'm I'm in some deep, you know what.
- 24:41SPEAKER_03: You know, so that so so I just kind of I just kind of prepare myself that way.
- 24:46SPEAKER_03: But I if I'm it's a redraft league, I just know that week 10 is gonna be a bad week for me.
- 24:51SPEAKER_03: I probably's gonna score 30 points.
- 24:53SPEAKER_03: But if all the other weeks are shaping up to be really well, then I'm not gonna worry about it so much, especially if I'm stacking or if I have some players that that could I could benefit from a stack.
- 25:02SPEAKER_03: So I I do look at the bye weeks, but it again, it just does depend on the type of league that you're in.
- 25:08SPEAKER_03: If you're like um, you know, in a guillotine type league, you definitely need to look at it because you don't want to be stuck out like Chuck.
- 25:15SPEAKER_03: So I I just yeah, I I I do look at bye weeks.
- 25:19SPEAKER_03: And and another thing I look at with Jonathan Taylor is reason I have him at number five, is I think he's gonna get a lot of touches.
- 25:26SPEAKER_03: I I think Nico is right.
- 25:28SPEAKER_03: Nico is onto something that this could just be uh pre-training camp, you know, coach speak.
- 25:34SPEAKER_03: And you know, they're probably just trying to light a fire under him because they know he's they're gonna give him the ball 30 plus times a game.
- 25:41SPEAKER_03: Because there's no way this team's gonna win without Jonathan Taylor carrying the load.
- 25:44SPEAKER_01: Like that, there's no way yeah, that offense is so vanilla.
- 25:48SPEAKER_01: That offense is so vanilla that they need to run it through Jonathan Taylor.
- 25:52SPEAKER_01: There's I'm sorry, yeah.
- 25:54SPEAKER_03: Like, like, so so for me, uh, just off the sheer respect thing that Nico that Natter was talking about, and the sheer opportunity and volume that he could be getting off the rip, I I that's that's that's that's why I like Jonathan Taylor.
- 26:07SPEAKER_03: That's why I got him.
- 26:08SPEAKER_03: He's been I did move him down a little bit because I do like the James Cook.
- 26:11SPEAKER_03: I I'm starting to like James Cook a lot more, especially with some of the things that you're coming around to that.
- 26:16SPEAKER_01: But right, but one last thing with Jonathan Taylor, too, is he he did see a massive increase in his receiving work um last year, which helped elevate him.
- 26:28SPEAKER_01: I mean, he had the previous three seasons, he had 28 receptions, 19 receptions, 18 receptions, and last year he had 46, which is a pretty significant increase.
- 26:41SPEAKER_01: And you know, for those of you that have been listening into the show, you know, you know that I love my running backs with receiving upsides.
- 26:48SPEAKER_01: So that for me is kind of what kept him in that you know, high-end tier two, if you will.
- 26:56SPEAKER_02: So, like right now, Jonathan Taylor, his ADP is about seven, seventh pick.
- 27:02SPEAKER_02: Christian McCaffrey is six.
- 27:04SPEAKER_02: Like, if you have the opportunity for either or which one are you taking?
- 27:06SPEAKER_02: I know for me, it's Christian McCaffrey, no-brainer.
- 27:10SPEAKER_01: CMC.
- 27:11SPEAKER_01: And I have him ranked higher than Jonathan Taylor, so I better be saying CMC.
- 27:16SPEAKER_03: I have Jonathan Taylor ranked higher than than um CMC right now.
- 27:21SPEAKER_03: I have CMC, I think, at seven.
- 27:23SPEAKER_03: Um, and I have uh Jonathan Taylor at five.
- 27:26SPEAKER_03: So I'm still going to I'm CMC is there.
- 27:28SPEAKER_03: Look, look, I I am a big proponent and a big believer in the curse of 370.
- 27:39SPEAKER_03: I'm just gonna keep it at that.
- 27:40SPEAKER_03: And I think that I think that Christian McCaffrey, I think the wheels could fall off again, guys.
- 27:47SPEAKER_03: I mean, he had a lot of yes, he had a lot of touches outside of in between the tackles, like in you know, running in lanes and things like that, catching the ball in space.
- 27:55SPEAKER_03: I like that, I love that.
- 27:57SPEAKER_03: But they got Mike Evans now.
- 27:58SPEAKER_03: They go supposedly George Kittle's coming back, like week one.
- 28:02SPEAKER_03: Uh, so I mean, what they just they don't throw it to Mike Evans?
- 28:08SPEAKER_03: You want to talk about end up running the ball again and get hurt.
- 28:11SPEAKER_03: I'm sorry.
- 28:12SPEAKER_01: No, you I was the one that cut you off.
- 28:14SPEAKER_01: I should be the one saying no listen one thing real quick is like with CMC, the range of outcomes with him is literally RB1 or RB50.
- 28:25SPEAKER_01: So, like, right, no matter where you want to put him in that three to six range or whatever it might be, you know, I'm ranking him based off of you know, we're not gonna think about the injury, but obviously you make some really valid points.
- 28:42SPEAKER_02: Uh take slow down with Kittle, Jano says it's all smoke.
- 28:48SPEAKER_02: I mean, I agree.
- 28:48SPEAKER_02: Like, I honestly, I don't think Kittle even plays just like Malik Neighbors.
- 28:53SPEAKER_02: I don't think he plays like the first handful of weeks within Achilles.
- 28:56SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's been reported now.
- 28:59SPEAKER_02: I mean, like, I mean, so did Jana.
- 29:01SPEAKER_02: I mean, what's his name?
- 29:03SPEAKER_02: Uh, I can't think of his name all of a sudden, Colts quarterback.
- 29:05SPEAKER_02: Who give us Dano Jones?
- 29:07SPEAKER_02: Daniel Jones, right?
- 29:08SPEAKER_02: I mean, he got reported.
- 29:09SPEAKER_02: Like, I don't know.
- 29:10SPEAKER_02: Didn't didn't Kittle have his Achilles injury like later than than uh Dano Jones?
- 29:15SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah, it was super late.
- 29:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so and so I feel like one of our first couple episodes, Tip was talking about like, and you run and you cut and you run and you cut.
- 29:24SPEAKER_01: Oh and he was talking about George Kittle and how, like, yeah, listen, for a quarterback, it's completely different.
- 29:29SPEAKER_01: Like, you're chilling in the pocket.
- 29:31SPEAKER_01: Like, I think Daniel Jones might see his rushing upside, you know, obviously come down, which you know could obviously lead a lot more to more receiving work for Jonathan Taylor in the passing game, quick dump offs.
- 29:44SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, as like a wide receiver or a tight end or someone who's you know blocking a D end.
- 29:49SPEAKER_01: We're like, you're kind of like that a killy.
- 29:51SPEAKER_01: Uh I don't even want that.
- 29:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's what scares me.
- 29:54SPEAKER_03: That's what scares me with George K.
- 29:55SPEAKER_01: I'm not buying the kill back right away.
- 29:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah, well, that that's what scares me is like re injury because he's such I mean he he loves that like that.
- 30:04SPEAKER_03: He he'd rather block than catch a 20-yard slant route.
- 30:07SPEAKER_03: Like he he he is he's that type of dude, like, but that's what scares me like about him, and that's why I'm not drafting him anywhere.
- 30:14SPEAKER_03: Is like I when it would like is he really gonna be that I'm not asking you to sit back in the pocket and throw a pass, I'm asking you to block a 300-400-pound dude, like you know, like I don't know.
- 30:26SPEAKER_01: Uh I just Aaron Donald and Miles Garrett, right?
- 30:30SPEAKER_03: Like, right, oh my god, could you imagine that?
- 30:33SPEAKER_02: Oh okay.
- 30:35SPEAKER_02: Oh my god, but all right, okay.
- 30:38SPEAKER_02: So, right now there's uh a a Kenneth Walker discussion that we had.
- 30:43SPEAKER_02: Tip had him, like, what was it?
- 30:46SPEAKER_02: No, sorry, Nico, you had him as what RB7?
- 30:49SPEAKER_02: Yes, sir.
- 30:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 30:51SPEAKER_03: Talk to us about that one because yeah, because I uh me, me and me and Natter, we have him both in the RB2 range, like right outside the top 12.
- 31:00SPEAKER_03: But you are you are firmly uh higher on him at at RB7, and yes, we do need to discuss this.
- 31:08SPEAKER_01: And listen, I mean, for anybody that watched playoff football last year, you'll know exactly why he went off and he went nuclear.
- 31:18SPEAKER_01: There was no Zach Charbonnet in the mix, and the Chiefs had no run game last season, and it caused Patrick Mahomes to essentially do everything, run around like a madman, make plays, and Walker's really gonna help come in and stabilize this run offense.
- 31:35SPEAKER_01: The Chiefs had one rush yard last year of over 20 yards.
- 31:39SPEAKER_01: Walker, he even in his limited snaps that he had in Seattle with Charbonnet, he had 10.
- 31:46SPEAKER_01: I mean, he's he's a true home run breakout type of player, and the Chiefs haven't had an elite running back in a long time.
- 31:54SPEAKER_01: And I fully believe in Andy Reid's ability to maximize his talent while he's still in his prime, and we'll make this whole offense be significantly better.
- 32:05SPEAKER_01: And let's also not forget, too, that like Mahomes is coming off an ACL injury, you know, they're gonna want to lean on the run game, and that's why they went and got this guy.
- 32:15SPEAKER_01: They knew that they wanted this guy, and they went and got this guy.
- 32:18SPEAKER_01: Walker was 12th in yards per touch, first in juke rate, six in evaded tackles, and fourth in explosive rating.
- 32:26SPEAKER_01: And he has, I mean, you can have your own opinions on this, but to me, he has no competition.
- 32:31SPEAKER_01: Demarcado, what's he gonna do?
- 32:33SPEAKER_01: Drop the football on the one-yard line after a six-yard run, rookie Emmett Johnson.
- 32:38SPEAKER_01: Like, nah, he's going to be the Bell Cow in an elite offense.
- 32:43SPEAKER_01: To me, like I'm all in on Kenneth Walker.
- 32:47SPEAKER_01: I have him ranked over, you know, Genty, Chase Brown, Hampton, A Chain, Derrick Henry, and that's probably around the range where you guys are starting to put him.
- 32:59SPEAKER_01: Whereas me, on the other hand, I'm playing this upside, and the situation could not be any better.
- 33:06SPEAKER_01: And I truthfully think, like with Mahomes in his ACL, he can even get even more involved in the receiving game as well, and get those touchdown numbers up, which obviously Clint Kubiak was not letting him do in Seattle.
- 33:22SPEAKER_02: I mean, there's no Shaq uh Zach Charbonnet haunting his dreams over there in Kansas City.
- 33:28SPEAKER_02: Let me tell you that much.
- 33:29SPEAKER_02: But I mean, I mean, you you're completely right, they haven't had an elite running back since Kareem Hunt in 2017.
- 33:36SPEAKER_02: Since then, they haven't even had a thousand-yard rusher.
- 33:39SPEAKER_02: And to be honest to me, that's not necessarily the running backs' fault.
- 33:42SPEAKER_02: They've had talented running backs throughout that roster.
- 33:45SPEAKER_02: It's a scheme and a talent issue when it comes to the run blocking on the offensive line.
- 33:50SPEAKER_02: And I think that didn't really get that much better this year.
- 33:53SPEAKER_02: I mean, they didn't they don't have any deep passing threats that I'm gonna sit there and say that other teams need to significantly respect to stop teams from sitting there and stacking the box.
- 34:05SPEAKER_02: And because of that, I mean, he's just gonna face another stack box type of defense, making it so he just might have to struggle another year on another team with the ball.
- 34:14SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's not like you know, Travis Kelsey's in his prime forcing double coverages.
- 34:18SPEAKER_02: It's not like there's a Tyreek Hill forcing triple coverages, it's not like there's just other receiving threats that you respect so much that you have to sit there and play a too high type of defense, forcing teams to be able to run the ball underneath, which way Kenneth Walker uh likes to vertically down the field.
- 34:36SPEAKER_02: But right now he doesn't necessarily have that scenario unless something happens if the Chiefs are able to really scheme up a way for him to get those zone scheme rocking, zone scheme blocking holes up the middle.
- 34:47SPEAKER_02: It's I I'm struggling to see a difference.
- 34:50SPEAKER_02: Right now, it's just a different nameplate on the back of the jersey.
- 34:55SPEAKER_03: I I uh I mean, I'll give him a little bit more credit than that.
- 34:59SPEAKER_03: It's just I there's a lot of unknowns, and and you know, the biggest unknown for me is Patrick Mahomes.
- 35:05SPEAKER_03: And you know, if I can get a pat if if I can get a clarification, and I think you know, people are the there's rumblings out there, you hear it.
- 35:13SPEAKER_03: I mean, they say he's ready to go, he should be fine for week one, all that stuff, and then but you just never know.
- 35:19SPEAKER_03: I mean, we I don't I last sighting, I guess he was at what the the wedding.
- 35:25SPEAKER_03: So, I mean, I haven't seen him since then on the field, so I mean I don't know, I just want to see, and then I'll and then I can really get a gap grasp on this offense uh a little bit more.
- 35:34SPEAKER_03: Be but I will say this this is one thing that I do like.
- 35:37SPEAKER_03: I do like that Eric Bienemy is over there because Eric Biene is one of those guys seems he's a no-nonsense guy.
- 35:43SPEAKER_03: Kenneth Walker even seems seems like a no-nonsense type dude.
- 35:47SPEAKER_03: I even remember going back to the the the championship parade when he was on the stage and the and the owner was blabber mouth and talking about we're gonna pay this man, we're gonna be and he just kind of had this smirk on it, like you're gonna pay me or I'm gonna leave.
- 36:01SPEAKER_03: Like he he's about business, like you know, he wants to win, but he's about business.
- 36:04SPEAKER_03: So I I'm still gonna wait and see what Kenneth Walker.
- 36:07SPEAKER_03: You named some players, Ashton Genty, you you named uh Chase Brown, uh hell, even Derrick Henry.
- 36:14SPEAKER_03: I I just would feel a little bit more comfortable with some of those guys in redraft.
- 36:19SPEAKER_03: Um, just because I you know, I I know the Ashton Genty thing is a little that that's the question mark, but I'm I'm willing to take a risk on it, and that's not me being a homer stopnatter.
- 36:30SPEAKER_03: Um, but I I I really am willing to take a risk on it.
- 36:33SPEAKER_03: I I just don't know if I'm willing to take a risk on Kenneth Walker just yet, uh just yet.
- 36:39SPEAKER_02: See, okay.
- 36:40SPEAKER_02: Shout out to catfish belly or sorry, catfish billy.
- 36:44SPEAKER_02: Sorry, my bad on that one.
- 36:46SPEAKER_02: Um, apparently, you know, hey, hey, hey, it's not my fault.
- 36:49SPEAKER_02: You have good taste?
- 36:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, I'm I'm actually really hungry, and I started preheating not pre-eating a steak, I pre-seasoned a steak.
- 36:55SPEAKER_02: So as soon as we hit end stream, like I'm just gonna go cook that steak.
- 36:59SPEAKER_02: So, I mean, of course, yeah, I am hungry.
- 37:01SPEAKER_02: Um he says that we're his favorite podcast to listen to.
- 37:05SPEAKER_02: Let me tell him.
- 37:06SPEAKER_02: You have good taste.
- 37:07SPEAKER_02: Oh hey, good taste.
- 37:08SPEAKER_02: That's all I gotta say.
- 37:09SPEAKER_03: Appreciate that, brother.
- 37:10SPEAKER_02: Appreciate it.
- 37:11SPEAKER_02: Hey, same same with Jay Snow.
- 37:12SPEAKER_02: Hey, they they got good taste.
- 37:13SPEAKER_02: That's all I gotta say.
- 37:15SPEAKER_02: So uh let me tell you who does it.
- 37:17SPEAKER_02: People who like Ashley Denty, and Tip is that guy, and he put him in the like what like top three.
- 37:23SPEAKER_02: Like, actually, you you didn't actually rank him in the top three.
- 37:25SPEAKER_02: You say no, I just said let's make the case.
- 37:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, nobody's making that case for him being I'll let you make the case for him being top three.
- 37:33SPEAKER_03: Well, I you know, uh so there's several reasons, right?
- 37:36SPEAKER_03: The the first reason for me is the the Clint Kubiak thing.
- 37:40SPEAKER_03: The kill Clint Kubiak's gonna come in here and he is just gonna redefine this offense.
- 37:45SPEAKER_03: Um, it's gonna take a minute because you know you do have Kirk Cousins there, you do have uh a learning uh Fernando Mendoza, but he's been learning for a minute now, and he's a smart, sharp kid.
- 37:55SPEAKER_03: Um, so I think either one of these running backs or quarterbacks can get Genty the ball.
- 38:00SPEAKER_03: I think that he's going to get the ball a ton in the passing game.
- 38:05SPEAKER_03: And then not only that, I look at this red zone efficiency.
- 38:09SPEAKER_03: I last year, the the red zone was non-existent to the Raiders, right?
- 38:13SPEAKER_03: Um, I think that this year we're gonna get a little bit more opportunities in the red zone.
- 38:17SPEAKER_03: Last year, I think we scored 14 points a game.
- 38:20SPEAKER_03: This year, I think I'm going up to about 21 points.
- 38:23SPEAKER_03: I think we can get an extra touchdown out of that.
- 38:25SPEAKER_03: And if we get an extra touchdown per game, there's a good bet, very good bet, that Ashton Genty is gonna be on the other end of those touchdowns.
- 38:33SPEAKER_03: Yes, of course, you got Brock Bowers, but when they get down there to the goal line, they're gonna use Ashton Genty.
- 38:38SPEAKER_03: I'm not worried about Mike Washington Jr.
- 38:40SPEAKER_03: just yet.
- 38:41SPEAKER_03: And now towards the middle of the season, I might, but right now, man, I think Ashton Genty can run away with this thing.
- 38:47SPEAKER_03: Clint Kubiak's already talked about a Christian McCaffrey-esque role uh for him.
- 38:52SPEAKER_03: So I'm not again worried about Mike uh Washington Jr.
- 38:56SPEAKER_03: I think that this is the Ashton Genty show.
- 38:58SPEAKER_03: I think that as long as he stays upright and stays on that field, he will return top five, dare I say top three running back uh in fantasy.
- 39:10SPEAKER_03: Natter, you make the case now.
- 39:12SPEAKER_03: No, no, no, no, no, let's save you for last.
- 39:14SPEAKER_03: You're right.
- 39:14SPEAKER_03: No, no, no.
- 39:15SPEAKER_03: Let's save you for last.
- 39:16SPEAKER_03: Go ahead, Nico.
- 39:17SPEAKER_03: Nope, save you for last.
- 39:18SPEAKER_01: Save Natter for last.
- 39:20SPEAKER_01: Yes, well, listen.
- 39:21SPEAKER_01: Yes, so we all obviously have, or I guess I know Tip does, and I know I do.
- 39:26SPEAKER_01: Natter, he's the contrarian of the pack.
- 39:29SPEAKER_01: I don't know where he's got Genty, but I have him ranked as my RB8.
- 39:33SPEAKER_01: Um, now if I'm making a case for him as a top three uh running back, I mean, my case, truthfully, at that point, just revolves around the kids' talent and an improved offensive environment that includes their offensive line, uh, signing center Tyler Lindenbaum.
- 39:51SPEAKER_01: I mean, that dude's a beast.
- 39:53SPEAKER_01: Um, and obviously, like the offensive mind that Clint Kubiak now brings and replacing a really weird uh situation last year with Pete Carroll, and you know, he had like his uh was it like his son was like the offensive something or another, and like he wouldn't fire him or something like that, but like it was just a really weird situation, and I think that's is the core reason as to why the Raiders completely fell apart last year.
- 40:22SPEAKER_01: But I believe Genty will have Bel Cow usage.
- 40:25SPEAKER_01: Uh Tip, you mentioned it.
- 40:26SPEAKER_01: There's no competition.
- 40:27SPEAKER_01: Like, I'm not worried about you know, Kubiak coming in and wanting to do a timeshare situation.
- 40:33SPEAKER_01: Um, I do think he's gonna be heavily involved in the passing game.
- 40:37SPEAKER_01: You know, you have two immobile quarterbacks in Cousins and Mendoza, so to me, it doesn't really matter who the quarterback is, honestly, for Genty's sake.
- 40:46SPEAKER_01: And Genty's an elite talent, man.
- 40:48SPEAKER_01: I mean, he was seventh in yards created, fifth in juke rate, fourth in evaded tackles last year.
- 40:53SPEAKER_01: And that was all while he was seeing a ton of defenders in the box, stacked fronts, because that offense was not moving the ball, and defenses would come in and be like, this is the one guy that we got to stop.
- 41:07SPEAKER_01: And that wasn't his fault.
- 41:08SPEAKER_01: And I see a lot of improvement there.
- 41:10SPEAKER_01: That would be my case for him as a top three RB.
- 41:13SPEAKER_01: Do I have him there?
- 41:15SPEAKER_01: No, is it in this realm of outcomes?
- 41:18SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 41:20SPEAKER_03: So, so I was looking back at some of my my stats here on um Clint Kubiak, right?
- 41:25SPEAKER_03: So Clint Kubiak led offenses.
- 41:28SPEAKER_03: Um, he in 2021 with the Minnesota Vikings, your Minnesota Vikings, uh, Nico, he he his re RB's uh receptions was 94.
- 41:37SPEAKER_03: Uh 2024, New Orleans Saints, 97.
- 41:41SPEAKER_03: Uh Seattle last year was was still good, but not in the 90s, it was at 53.
- 41:47SPEAKER_03: Um, so it's an average of 81 um in those three seasons where Clint Kubiak has led the offense.
- 41:54SPEAKER_03: So I if he leads this offense again, I don't see a reason why Ashton Genty can't have 55 plus catches this year.
- 42:01SPEAKER_03: And that's just full-on workhorse.
- 42:04SPEAKER_03: Let me tell you.
- 42:06SPEAKER_02: Please tell me.
- 42:06SPEAKER_02: He's on the radio.
- 42:09SPEAKER_01: Like wait, how's this hairline though?
- 42:13SPEAKER_03: Oh, oh, yeah, you gotta pick up airline.
- 42:15SPEAKER_03: Genty's got locks, bro.
- 42:16SPEAKER_03: He's got he's got guys got nice.
- 42:18SPEAKER_02: He's got to be the hairline.
- 42:19SPEAKER_03: I mean, you oh hairline, that's what it is.
- 42:22SPEAKER_02: The guy, the guy that averaged negative yards per contact or before getting contacted, is gonna somehow have a top three RB season.
- 42:32SPEAKER_02: No, it's not gonna happen.
- 42:33SPEAKER_02: The same thing's gonna happen last year.
- 42:35SPEAKER_02: It's just gonna run into the like he might he might he might average a yard after the line of scrimmage this year before contact.
- 42:43SPEAKER_02: Like, you're telling me RB3, RB, RB, uh echelon, RB1.
- 42:48SPEAKER_02: No, he's gonna be an RB2 specifically, volume based.
- 42:51SPEAKER_02: Like, I have him ranked uh number nine in my rankings, specifically still RB1.
- 42:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, no, I put him in the RB2 range, but I I specifically know what if he's in RB2, then he's got in a 12 team league, he would be like number 13, 14.
- 43:08SPEAKER_03: Do you have him as an RB1?
- 43:10SPEAKER_03: No, no, a minute matter.
- 43:12SPEAKER_03: You have Ash and JT who's on the Raiders as an RB1.
- 43:16SPEAKER_02: He does because it was nobody else was better, not because he's that good, it's like it would just be unrealistic and uh and just you know, rage bait if I was to put somebody else out of that category.
- 43:30SPEAKER_02: Like right now, I have him at nine.
- 43:31SPEAKER_02: O'Marian Hampton is number eight, so I fully believe in Omarion Hampton over Ashton Genty.
- 43:37SPEAKER_02: He's gonna be playing in the better offense, better system, and they're equal talents, in my opinion.
- 43:41SPEAKER_02: It's making it so he's gonna have more opportunities, or in this case, better opportunities to produce fantasy points.
- 43:47SPEAKER_02: Uh, like it's it, you know, it it's nothing against Ashton Genty, but I don't think the offense did anything that great to sit there and tell me hey, he is going to be a star.
- 44:00SPEAKER_02: Studded fantasy productive running back, it's just gonna be the same as it was last year, where it's like only if he had a better team, and it's not like uh Mendoza is better than Geno Smith.
- 44:09SPEAKER_02: We don't know that he's gonna go through his rookie season, he's gonna go through the growing pains, and he's gonna go through all this, and then we're just gonna sit there and say, Oh man, we're gonna make all the excuses of why Genty was the same way he was last year, and it's just because you got to look at the team over him.
- 44:30SPEAKER_02: Tip, tip, tip, tip.
- 44:31SPEAKER_02: I don't know what to tell you on this one.
- 44:32SPEAKER_01: I mean, like we can talk about this all day, but we can let's talk about someone else.
- 44:38SPEAKER_02: Thank god.
- 44:39SPEAKER_02: Thank god.
- 44:40SPEAKER_03: All righty, all right.
- 44:42SPEAKER_03: So um, so the Cardinals RB rankings, okay?
- 44:47SPEAKER_03: So what did you guys think uh uh this was?
- 44:50SPEAKER_03: Did you think it was dynasty?
- 44:52SPEAKER_03: I mean, you guys went with um Jeremiah Love at 18.
- 44:57SPEAKER_03: I saw yours, Nico, and I just don't see a way of having him this high.
- 45:04SPEAKER_01: Tip brother, I gotta be honest with you here.
- 45:06SPEAKER_01: I don't know why you're asking this question.
- 45:09SPEAKER_01: Most rankings that I've come across have him as like a low-end RB1, high-end RB2, like 12-13.
- 45:17SPEAKER_01: I have him at 18.
- 45:18SPEAKER_01: They wait.
- 45:22SPEAKER_03: Okay, we'll do it.
- 45:24SPEAKER_03: You guys are high on him.
- 45:25SPEAKER_03: You guys are high on him.
- 45:27SPEAKER_03: Where do you have him?
- 45:28SPEAKER_03: You guys are high on him.
- 45:29SPEAKER_03: The people I'm I'm like 24, 25.
- 45:31SPEAKER_03: I'm 24 right now, guys.
- 45:33SPEAKER_03: I I think that I just don't see a path for this kid, man.
- 45:36SPEAKER_03: I really don't.
- 45:37SPEAKER_03: I know he's talked a good game, I know that he said some really like I, you know, give me the ball, or you know, I'm not he didn't wait.
- 45:45SPEAKER_03: He I think he said give me the ball at first or something along those lines.
- 45:48SPEAKER_03: I'm paraphrasing, and then he said that he doesn't need to touch the ball all the time to be effective.
- 45:54SPEAKER_03: Well, well, well, damn it.
- 45:55SPEAKER_03: I don't want you on my fantasy team then.
- 45:57SPEAKER_03: I'm sorry.
- 45:58SPEAKER_03: If you're not want the ball, I don't like that.
- 46:00SPEAKER_03: That's that's my whole thing about uh Jeremiah Love is is not just that, it's also that he's got a pissed off Tyler Algier over there.
- 46:08SPEAKER_03: He's got James Conner still over there, he's got Trey Benson, they're in a bad offense, they're gonna be tossing the ball around a lot, and I get that they may have a lot of red zone opportunities, but what they're just gonna forget about Tyler Algier.
- 46:21SPEAKER_03: I just don't see it now.
- 46:22SPEAKER_03: If Dynasty, I get it now in redraft, which this show we are mainly talking redraft, uh just don't see him being that high at 18.
- 46:33SPEAKER_03: But I commend you guys for sticking to your guns and not going with the can the the other people because them having that who I don't know who they are, but whoever had him at 12 in a redraft.
- 46:43SPEAKER_03: Oh, please miss me.
- 46:45SPEAKER_02: Oh, that I think that's just a an attempt at a hot take when somebody does something like 12 on a redraft.
- 46:50SPEAKER_02: It's kind of like almost putting Ashton Genty as top three.
- 46:54SPEAKER_02: Um, I mean, with Jeremiah, it could just be P purely volume-based, same way as we saw Genty last year.
- 47:01SPEAKER_02: I mean, nobody really complained about Genty being in the 18th range last year, and he was arguably on a worse team in a worse system in uh in just as much of a difficult division.
- 47:11SPEAKER_02: I mean, we're sitting there talking about like you know, the Niners, uh, NFC West division being difficult, but I mean the the AFC West division is just as difficult because I mean they got the the Broncos, the Chargers, and then the Chiefs defense for for like teams to worry about.
- 47:26SPEAKER_02: And you know, we're just gonna strike the Ragers, the Raiders, because they're not a real team, but like it's difficult for people to sit there and say, Oh, Jeremiah Love is a complete trash running back right now, and then last year turn around and see people say, Oh, Ashton Genty is a surefire 10, you know, top 10 pick.
- 47:44SPEAKER_02: You know, volume base is gonna produce fantasy points, whether we like it or not.
- 47:48SPEAKER_02: And because of that, there aren't 18 running backs that I would rather have, or sorry, there isn't more than 18 running backs that I would rather have over Jeremiah Love.
- 47:57SPEAKER_02: Like, you're gonna tell me Cam Scadabow over Jeremiah.
- 47:59SPEAKER_02: No, you're not gonna do that.
- 48:00SPEAKER_02: You'd be unrealistic, Quenshawn Judkins over no, like, don't be like ridiculous.
- 48:05SPEAKER_02: Uh Bucky Irvin, no, like it's at that point, you're just self-sabotaging your fantasy team if you try to uh uh mentally uh play mind games with yourself to conjure the fact that Jeremiah Love isn't gonna randomly put up fantasy points just due to volume.
- 48:21SPEAKER_01: Are we forgetting that he was drafted third overall?
- 48:24SPEAKER_03: Uh I yes, I get it.
- 48:27SPEAKER_03: I'm happy for him.
- 48:28SPEAKER_03: He got more.
- 48:29SPEAKER_01: I want to I want to make this uh crystal clear to those listening.
- 48:34SPEAKER_01: Jeremiah Love is not somebody that I am targeting.
- 48:38SPEAKER_01: Now, yes, I have him ranked as my 18th um overall running back.
- 48:44SPEAKER_01: You know, at the end of the day, I believe that his talent alone will help him be productive.
- 48:49SPEAKER_01: I view him as the running back in this offense that is gonna be taking a majority of the workload in between the 20s and a lot of the receiving work too.
- 48:59SPEAKER_01: And at the end of the day, you know, we've talked about you know this division and the Rams and their you know superstar team and stuff.
- 49:06SPEAKER_01: And we all know the Cardinals are gonna be, you know, playing for that first overall pick next year.
- 49:11SPEAKER_01: There's gonna be a lot of receiving opportunity to be had, you know.
- 49:15SPEAKER_01: I believe that they're going to try to uh run the ball, it's more of a volume-based lower end RB2 for me.
- 49:23SPEAKER_01: And they don't like you don't just draft or invest in a top pick like Jeremiah Love and not use him.
- 49:31SPEAKER_01: And I truthfully believe that, yes, I think Algier's gonna have his spike weeks, just like he did with Bijan the week before.
- 49:37SPEAKER_01: You know, I absolutely could see a you know 30-yard, two touchdown outing from him, and that's why Love doesn't have the ceiling for to me to be like a low-end RB1 or something like that, but I still think he's gonna get a lot of the workload and he's gonna get the receiving upside to still be fantasy relevant.
- 49:57SPEAKER_01: You know, I currently have him again ranked at 18, and that's behind Kyron Williams, Javante Williams, Brees Hall, and ETN, but right before Cam Scattaboo and David Montgomery.
- 50:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that Cam Scataboo is interesting.
- 50:13SPEAKER_03: That's an interesting one.
- 50:15SPEAKER_03: Um, that but but you know what?
- 50:16SPEAKER_03: Nonetheless, our wonderful and gracious producer Kelly Phoenix is um behind the scenes, she'll be on in a moment, but she said that the this Cardinals talk is killing her.
- 50:28SPEAKER_03: So, guys, let's move on to the next session.
- 50:30SPEAKER_01: Oh, pain or what like I gotta, I think you really like this guy, and I'm curious on your take.
- 50:36SPEAKER_01: Where do you have DeAndre Swift?
- 50:38SPEAKER_01: Do you think he's gonna finish inside the top 20 at the running back uh position for the third season in a row?
- 50:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I have him currently at running back 19, so I have him just squeezing into that spot, and he's just a solid running back.
- 50:52SPEAKER_02: He's the epitome of like, I don't want to say mid, but like slightly above mid, and he has shown that his whole career because he's just consistently turning out consistent seasons, whether it was on the Eagles or now the Bears.
- 51:07SPEAKER_02: He's just in a perfect system that allows him to flourish because he has what you need in order to create an efficient offensive production from the running back position.
- 51:16SPEAKER_02: He's got the gunslinger quarterback, he's got a good offensive coordinator, head coach type of combination.
- 51:21SPEAKER_02: He has a decent offensive line because they completely revamped the offensive line.
- 51:25SPEAKER_02: He's got solid weapons on the outside, he's not gonna have stacked boxes that you typically would see on defense or offenses.
- 51:32SPEAKER_02: I should sorry, sorry, he's not gonna see stacked boxes that you typically would with other teams, making it so he's gonna have the open lanes and the open opportunities to put up fantasy points.
- 51:42SPEAKER_02: And you know, top 20 isn't anything crazy because again, I have Jeremiah Love at number 18, and then right behind him, I have Travion Henderson.
- 51:50SPEAKER_02: But I think he is a perfect pick at the ADP that he's currently on.
- 51:55SPEAKER_02: Really like him, always going to be attempting to target him whenever I'm actually able to.
- 52:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he's he's a good one.
- 52:02SPEAKER_03: I I I was really surprised to see that he's finished in the top 20 because it just doesn't feel like it um when you look at his you know his body of work or you look at like his his um overall performance over the season, but he's quietly done it and his counterpart, Kyle Manungay, uh can do it too.
- 52:19SPEAKER_03: So I I I like that.
- 52:20SPEAKER_03: I think that he could finish inside the top um 20 as well.
- 52:24SPEAKER_03: Uh, so we're gonna move on to the next one.
- 52:26SPEAKER_03: This guy's we're gonna be a little bit negative here, okay?
- 52:29SPEAKER_03: So these are top 15 running backs who could fall outside the top 30.
- 52:34SPEAKER_03: So I want each of you to give me a running back you currently have ranked inside your top 15 who could fall outside the top 30.
- 52:41SPEAKER_03: This isn't necessarily a player you're fading, but we're talking about a player that it's in your top 15 with the biggest potential for a trapdoor underneath him.
- 52:51SPEAKER_03: So, Nico, we're gonna start with you.
- 52:54SPEAKER_01: Oh man, it I'll keep this brief.
- 52:57SPEAKER_01: If I had to pick someone in my top 15 and you both are gonna hate it, and I can't pick Jacobs because obviously the legal situation, like you know, if he plays, then he you know what I mean.
- 53:10SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go with Kyron Williams, and it's truthfully because of Blake Coram.
- 53:16SPEAKER_01: Don't think it'll happen, but if I had to pick, which you're kind of putting me on the spot here, outside of the top 30.
- 53:22SPEAKER_01: Oh man, yeah.
- 53:23SPEAKER_01: I mean, I'll go with Kyron Williams.
- 53:26SPEAKER_01: Wow, ooh, that hurts.
- 53:28SPEAKER_01: That hurt to hear.
- 53:29SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna lie, that's hurt.
- 53:30SPEAKER_03: That hurts me big time.
- 53:31SPEAKER_02: I know it's not gonna happen, right?
- 53:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but you put me on the spot 15 RB who could fall outside the top 30.
- 53:39SPEAKER_01: Who do you think is gonna be?
- 53:40SPEAKER_02: Oh my god, no, that's a it's a you know what I mean.
- 53:43SPEAKER_02: Like, yeah, like yeah, like come on, like that.
- 53:45SPEAKER_02: You already know that's a happen.
- 53:46SPEAKER_02: If someone were to say Derek Henry, it would be a bad take.
- 53:49SPEAKER_03: Oh, oh, wait, wait, wait, go, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no exactly, exactly.
- 53:52SPEAKER_02: I said it, I said it.
- 53:54SPEAKER_02: Go ahead.
- 53:54SPEAKER_02: Is gonna be the guy that I'm talking about here.
- 53:56SPEAKER_01: Brees Hall you have Brees Hall in your top 15.
- 54:00SPEAKER_02: Uh, I have him actually at 15.
- 54:02SPEAKER_02: All right, I have him at 15.
- 54:03SPEAKER_02: Uh maybe 16.
- 54:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, maybe not maybe 16, but close enough, you know, if you round down.
- 54:08SPEAKER_04: Oh god.
- 54:09SPEAKER_02: Uh, I mean, like Brees Hall is on the Jets, right?
- 54:13SPEAKER_02: And it's like saying he's on the Raiders, essentially the same thing.
- 54:16SPEAKER_02: It's like saying, Oh, we would you rather have trash or dumpster?
- 54:20SPEAKER_02: It's like both, same thing.
- 54:22SPEAKER_02: Uh like Brees Hall, he he's the same thing as every other bad team in the league, like the Raiders, where good running back, bad quarterback, bad coordinator, bad head coach, bad offensive line, bad weapons on the outside, good division.
- 54:36SPEAKER_02: And that just leads to a negative success factor.
- 54:39SPEAKER_02: And Brees Hall has done that throughout his whole career.
- 54:41SPEAKER_02: He's always been a declining asset that never produces his ADP.
- 54:47SPEAKER_02: And you consistently draft him because uh hey, he might do it this year, right?
- 54:51SPEAKER_02: Oh, the hot take artists are out again saying, hey, this year he's gonna be a top 10 RB.
- 54:56SPEAKER_02: He's not like I'm not gonna sit here and lie to you and say he's gonna be good this year, he'll have his good games, he's gonna scamper his way into the end zone and produce a decent fantasy value every so often.
- 55:06SPEAKER_02: But like to sit there and say, Oh, I'm gonna waste a third round pick on Brees Hall, you lost your league already.
- 55:10SPEAKER_02: It's like taking um Ashton Dente, uh Drake London, and then Brees Hall with your first three picks, you lost the league already at that point.
- 55:19SPEAKER_02: Start planning last place punishments.
- 55:24SPEAKER_01: Is this courtesy of staying on top of time?
- 55:31SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna argue, but anyways, tip who you got.
- 55:35SPEAKER_03: Oh, maybe for another day, for another day.
- 55:38SPEAKER_03: For me, because I think I think Nico's gonna, I mean, Natter's gonna hate this one too.
- 55:42SPEAKER_03: He already alluded to it earlier.
- 55:43SPEAKER_03: Um, is this the year that Derrick Henry finally just falls off?
- 55:47SPEAKER_03: I mean, I we've been we've been we haven't been wanting it because it's just been amazing to watch, but it's like it's going, it's it it it's it's any day now or any year now, you know, and and and I just feel like it if if it if it is the time, it is no time like the present.
- 56:07SPEAKER_03: And and that could be this season where he just falls off, man.
- 56:10SPEAKER_03: And um, you know, I just I don't know what to think about this.
- 56:14SPEAKER_03: Um, this because I love Derrick Henry, but I I think that you know, I have him as my running back 13 right now.
- 56:22SPEAKER_03: Um, and it this just could be that season, man.
- 56:25SPEAKER_03: It could be that season that we've been dreading.
- 56:29SPEAKER_03: On to Mr.
- 56:30SPEAKER_03: Positivity, Natter.
- 56:31SPEAKER_03: You got this.
- 56:32SPEAKER_02: Got it.
- 56:33SPEAKER_02: When have I said anything positive this episode?
- 56:38SPEAKER_01: I don't I didn't like that last segment.
- 56:40SPEAKER_01: Like, people in the comments are like thinking I hate Kyron.
- 56:43SPEAKER_01: It's like, no, I like I basically like you know, I had no choice.
- 56:47SPEAKER_03: No, guy, no, you gotta you gotta understand the question, guys.
- 56:50SPEAKER_03: These are guys that are in our top 15 that we're high on, but that we also understand could fall out of the top 15 or 16 as Natalie, most likely, but also not likely.
- 57:04SPEAKER_02: Unless an injury happens, uh, that's not gonna happen, in my opinion.
- 57:08SPEAKER_02: But when you know what I'll be Mr.
- 57:10SPEAKER_02: Positivity, I'll be Mr.
- 57:11SPEAKER_02: Positivity, I'll do it for you guys.
- 57:13SPEAKER_01: Let's be positive, yeah.
- 57:14SPEAKER_02: Let's be positive.
- 57:14SPEAKER_02: I hyped up Jeremiah Love.
- 57:16SPEAKER_02: Uh, you know what?
- 57:16SPEAKER_02: I feel like that takes a lot of positivity in order to do uh, you know, a running back outside the top 20 that's gonna finish in the top 10.
- 57:25SPEAKER_02: I'm going Bashaan Tutan just because I don't really know how to say his name properly, and that's already a key indicator, Kate.
- 57:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's a key indicator that he's probably gonna be good this year.
- 57:36SPEAKER_02: I mean, he's in the perfect situation, he's in uh the good scheme on offense, good quarterback, good offensive line, good weapons on the outside, weaker division, and he has everything lined up for him to be fantasy productive.
- 57:50SPEAKER_02: It's just not gonna be a surprise when he does.
- 57:53SPEAKER_02: It's just can he fall into the end zone more often than not, making him over the top in the top 10 that the top 10 RBs don't necessarily have that issue with uh you know, somebody like Christian McCaffrey, you know he's gonna get his red zone looks, somebody like uh sorry, Kyron Williams, he's gonna get his red zone looks, Derrick Henry, red zone looks, Saquon, red zone looks.
- 58:11SPEAKER_02: You know, they're they're guaranteed looks in the red zone.
- 58:14SPEAKER_02: Somebody like Beyshaw, we don't really know exactly how his red zone production is going to be, but if it is anywhere close to those upper echelon running backs, he is going to finish in the top 10.
- 58:25SPEAKER_02: No issue on that.
- 58:27SPEAKER_03: Okay, okay.
- 58:29SPEAKER_03: I like it.
- 58:29SPEAKER_01: I I was actually going to go with Tootin, Byshall Tutin, Scootin' Tutin.
- 58:36SPEAKER_01: But because yeah, if you don't know how to say his name, just say Scootin' Tutin.
- 58:41SPEAKER_01: Um, but because Natter went with Tutin, I'll I'll go with Trevion Henderson here.
- 58:47SPEAKER_01: And now I have him ranked as my 25th overall running back.
- 58:51SPEAKER_01: Um, I do fully believe in the timeshare that he's gonna be in with Ramondre.
- 58:56SPEAKER_01: I feel like the Patriots really love Ramondre.
- 58:59SPEAKER_01: We actually talked in more in depth about these two in our last episode, but he obviously it's within his range of outcomes to finish inside the top 10.
- 59:08SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, he obviously has a lead upside, extremely explosive.
- 59:12SPEAKER_01: So I'll go with Trevion Henderson, who I currently have ranked outside the top 20 at 25, as my candidate to have the upside to finish in the top 10.
- 59:22SPEAKER_03: Well, I'm gonna go with Beshaw Tutin's former teammate, Travis Etienne, because he's actually going to be in a really good situation in New Orleans.
- 59:32SPEAKER_03: Um, I think the Kellen Moore situation with him running the offense, he knows that he likes to utilize his running backs pass catching and running in between the tackles, which Travis Etienne is good at both of those things.
- 59:45SPEAKER_03: Maybe we get to see him pass uh get more uh catches this season.
- 59:49SPEAKER_03: I like Tyler Shuck.
- 59:51SPEAKER_03: I like the offense.
- 59:52SPEAKER_03: Uh just there's a lot of things to like.
- 59:54SPEAKER_03: The offensive line has gotten a lot better.
- 59:55SPEAKER_03: So I can see a situation where Travis Etienne could be like one of those guys who are teetering around your top 20, maybe a little right right there, um, could finish inside the top 10 when the season's over with.
- 1:00:07SPEAKER_03: He's gonna have a lot of opportunities to score some points for you this season.
- 1:00:12SPEAKER_03: Um, so guys, we got our final segment.
- 1:00:15SPEAKER_03: Um, this is our plant your fag flag, plant your flag section.
- 1:00:20SPEAKER_03: Um it's easy to plant your flag on studs like Christian McCaffrey or Devon A.
- 1:00:29SPEAKER_03: Chain.
- 1:00:29SPEAKER_03: That's not what we're doing here, guys.
- 1:00:31SPEAKER_03: We're we're gonna take some guys who are outside of the top 35 or in our top 35, um, that we can talk about we're planting our flag.
- 1:00:39SPEAKER_03: So, Nico, we're gonna start with you.
- 1:00:41SPEAKER_03: Who are you planting your flag on?
- 1:00:45SPEAKER_01: JK Dobbins.
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:00:54SPEAKER_03: Two seconds.
- 1:00:55SPEAKER_03: 20 seconds.
- 1:00:57SPEAKER_02: I mean, sorry, Tip, what'd you say?
- 1:01:00SPEAKER_03: No, said give me 20 seconds on ego.
- 1:01:02SPEAKER_03: Why?
- 1:01:03SPEAKER_01: Oh, sorry.
- 1:01:04SPEAKER_01: I thought we were just saying the player and moving on because we're up to the case.
- 1:01:06SPEAKER_01: No, it says the case.
- 1:01:08SPEAKER_01: JK Dobbins.
- 1:01:09SPEAKER_01: I mean, listen, most consensus rankings have him in like the mid-30s.
- 1:01:13SPEAKER_01: I personally have him at 28.
- 1:01:15SPEAKER_01: I think there's a lot of inefficiencies with RJ Harvey.
- 1:01:19SPEAKER_01: Um, I believe in the offense as a whole, you know, Dobbins is gonna get the lion's share bell cow type of work.
- 1:01:26SPEAKER_01: He only had four touchdowns last year.
- 1:01:28SPEAKER_01: I see touchdown uh positive regression coming for him.
- 1:01:32SPEAKER_01: You know, I could easily see a thousand yards and eight touchdowns.
- 1:01:36SPEAKER_03: Wow, wow, wow.
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_03: Well, you know how I feel about those running backs over there in Denver and Sean Payton.
- 1:01:42SPEAKER_03: But go ahead and add her.
- 1:01:43SPEAKER_03: Who are you planning your flag on?
- 1:01:45SPEAKER_02: You know, catfish Billy said Rashad White, and I'm kind of I didn't think of that one because that was a really good one, and now I'm kind of like contemplating my life on that, but I'm gonna go with Janarian Price.
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_02: I mean, he he's in the system and the scheme that you really want your running back to be in.
- 1:02:03SPEAKER_02: A play action, gunslinger, quarterback with two elite weapons on the outside, good offensive line, and you know what, the Super Bowl caliber team that just won the Super Bowl, obviously, that are always gonna have those positive game scripts that are gonna consistently put you in positions to put up fantasy points.
- 1:02:19SPEAKER_02: Guy, my guy.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_03: All right, for me, it's simple.
- 1:02:23SPEAKER_03: Jonathan Brooks.
- 1:02:24SPEAKER_03: Um, I think that if if everything lines out right for this kid, I think that he can be one of those game-breaking league winners.
- 1:02:32SPEAKER_03: He's gotta stay healthy.
- 1:02:34SPEAKER_03: Please, please, please.
- 1:02:35SPEAKER_03: I mean, they've been talking so much good things about this kid and how explosive he's looking and how much of a dog he's been in OTAs.
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_03: And I'm pretty sure he's gonna do the same thing in training camp.
- 1:02:46SPEAKER_03: I I can't wait to watch this running back room in in Carolina.
- 1:02:50SPEAKER_03: Uh, so I really am going for Jonathan Brooks.
- 1:02:52SPEAKER_03: I think that he's gonna do it now.
- 1:02:54SPEAKER_03: Before we close off, Natter, again, guys, we told you earlier we do have a new friend of the show, our producer, Kelly in Phoenix.
- 1:03:02SPEAKER_03: So, can we bring Kelly up real quick, guys?
- 1:03:04SPEAKER_02: Hmm.
- 1:03:05SPEAKER_02: Should I do that?
- 1:03:06SPEAKER_02: Here, actually, yeah, let me add.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_02: Hold on, hold on.
- 1:03:09SPEAKER_02: I'm trying to figure this out.
- 1:03:10SPEAKER_02: I'm trying to figure this out.
- 1:03:13SPEAKER_02: No, there she goes.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_02: There we go.
- 1:03:15SPEAKER_02: I figured it.
- 1:03:16SPEAKER_03: There she is.
- 1:03:17SPEAKER_00: What's up, Kelly?
- 1:03:19SPEAKER_00: Hey, I um just a little production note.
- 1:03:22SPEAKER_00: There were two questions.
- 1:03:23SPEAKER_00: I put stars by them.
- 1:03:24SPEAKER_00: So if you want to answer them, you can sure jump in and grab those.
- 1:03:28SPEAKER_00: But um, in the meantime, yeah, I'm so stoked to be here, you guys.
- 1:03:32SPEAKER_00: This is amazing.
- 1:03:33SPEAKER_00: I'm having fun, obviously, trying to uh make my way.
- 1:03:38SPEAKER_00: I have notes for next week, but this has been a blast.
- 1:03:43SPEAKER_00: I'm so excited to be here with you every week.
- 1:03:46SPEAKER_03: There you go.
- 1:03:47SPEAKER_03: Kelly, tell us the things that you're not working on.
- 1:03:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'll uh I'll go quickly.
- 1:03:52SPEAKER_00: Most of the things you can find that I'm working on are on Twitter at Kelly and Phoenix.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_00: The biggest thing I'm working on right now is National Draft Day, which is August 21st.
- 1:04:03SPEAKER_00: So you can go to Vegas August 20th through the 22nd.
- 1:04:09SPEAKER_00: There are all kinds of packages, party packages, draft packages.
- 1:04:13SPEAKER_00: But check out Draft Nation or look at my whatever it's called, profile.
- 1:04:21SPEAKER_00: I just lost words.
- 1:04:22SPEAKER_00: Use code Kelly and get 25% off.
- 1:04:25SPEAKER_00: That's my big project right now.
- 1:04:27SPEAKER_03: Awesome, awesome.
- 1:04:29SPEAKER_03: So yeah, we do have some questions that Kelly talked about.
- 1:04:32SPEAKER_03: We will get to those right now.
- 1:04:33SPEAKER_03: Um, it's from the first one is Um from the Pick is in podcast.
- 1:04:38SPEAKER_03: It says, Does anyone know if James Conner will be okay health-wise?
- 1:04:42SPEAKER_03: He's an aging running back with injury history.
- 1:04:44SPEAKER_03: Plus, cuts will come.
- 1:04:47SPEAKER_03: Maybe trades will uh help unload or load with this loaded running back room after training camp picture will be clearer.
- 1:04:56SPEAKER_03: So I agree.
- 1:04:56SPEAKER_03: I think as far as his health-wise, I'm assuming uh from the reports that I've heard, I haven't heard anything that he's not healthy, um, that he should be okay.
- 1:05:05SPEAKER_03: Go ahead, Kelly, because you are.
- 1:05:07SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 1:05:08SPEAKER_00: I'm just like, yeah, you're right.
- 1:05:10SPEAKER_00: He's going to be healthy.
- 1:05:11SPEAKER_00: When we brought Trey, we, I'm an Arizona Crowds fan.
- 1:05:14SPEAKER_00: When we brought Trey Benson on last year, James Connor said, I want to split the carries.
- 1:05:21SPEAKER_00: It was like a passing of the torch, which never happened.
- 1:05:26SPEAKER_00: So is it going to happen this year?
- 1:05:28SPEAKER_00: Who knows?
- 1:05:29SPEAKER_00: They've already spent tons of money.
- 1:05:31SPEAKER_00: So I see James Connor as RB3 myself.
- 1:05:37SPEAKER_00: He wants to split carries.
- 1:05:39SPEAKER_00: I think he's ready to write off in the sunset.
- 1:05:43SPEAKER_00: I don't see them trading him either, by the way.
- 1:05:46SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:05:47SPEAKER_03: And we got another question too.
- 1:05:49SPEAKER_03: It was from Catfish Billy82.
- 1:05:51SPEAKER_03: He said, uh C Rod, don't take snaps at and goal line work.
- 1:05:57SPEAKER_03: Um, I'm I I agree.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_03: I think he was talking about your your Beishell Tutin um Natter.
- 1:06:03SPEAKER_03: I I I I think I think that um Chris Rodriguez, I I I was really, really, really high on him at the beginning.
- 1:06:11SPEAKER_03: Then this the foot injury thing came around, and then it started to make me a little nervous.
- 1:06:16SPEAKER_03: And then, you know, um Liam Column Cohen saying, you know, we we need him on the field to to evaluate him.
- 1:06:23SPEAKER_03: Um, so I don't know what to think on this one yet.
- 1:06:26SPEAKER_03: He I think he was supposed to be, or he is going to be the goal lineback, as long as he's healthy.
- 1:06:30SPEAKER_03: Yes, I do agree with that.
- 1:06:32SPEAKER_03: Um, that could take some things away from B.L.
- 1:06:34SPEAKER_03: Tootin.
- 1:06:35SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 1:06:35SPEAKER_02: And that's kind of why he's the uh outside the top 20.
- 1:06:39SPEAKER_02: And I'm hoping he enters the top 10.
- 1:06:41SPEAKER_02: It's just what's gonna happen in the red zone.
- 1:06:43SPEAKER_02: If he gets some of those red zone touches and gets those end zone looks, then yeah, he's gonna be top 10 potentially.
- 1:06:48SPEAKER_02: If not, then no, he's he's in the back of the set uh RB2 type of territory.
- 1:06:53SPEAKER_01: His range of outcomes is very similar to some of the other running backs we talked about, where the range of outcomes could be low-end RB1, while it also could be he's in a true timeshare with you know C Rod and you know C Rod's vulturing all the touchdowns.
- 1:07:10SPEAKER_01: But um, hopefully, we'll get some more visibility into that um as camp progresses and kicks off.
- 1:07:17SPEAKER_03: Now, you want to take us home, brother?

- 1:08:08SPEAKER_03: Never mind, brother.

- 1:08:09SPEAKER_02: Nico, other than that, alrighty.
- 1:08:11SPEAKER_02: Signing off, boys.
- 1:08:13SPEAKER_02: Good luck.
