Transcript
- 0:05Speaker 1: Yeah, we're back normally the normally it takes for when
- 0:08Speaker 1: the news gets weird.
- 0:09Speaker 2: I am Mary Catherine Ham.
- 0:11Speaker 3: And I'm Carol Markowitz.
- 0:13Speaker 4: We are recording this the day after election day, which
- 0:17Speaker 4: didn't go that well for Republicans. But I was not
- 0:21Speaker 4: at all surprised, Like, this wasn't one of those like,
- 0:23Speaker 4: oh my god, what happened? This is crazy. The only
- 0:27Speaker 4: one that I was a little bit surprised was how
- 0:31Speaker 4: much j Jones, the attorney general candidate in Virginia who
- 0:35Speaker 4: wished death on his political opponent and her children or
- 0:39Speaker 4: his children, that he won by quite a bit. That
- 0:42Speaker 4: was upsetting and disappointing, but still not totally surprising.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Like, I'm pretty good. I've lived through a lot of
- 0:50Speaker 1: election disappointments over the years. I will say the same
- 0:54Speaker 1: the same.
- 0:54Speaker 2: J Jones won.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Smarts a little like it feels more personal personal, right.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Because you're like, oh, my neighbors are.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Like cool with this, Yes, yeah, they're cool with that.
- 1:05Speaker 1: I also think he's just a crook in general. In
- 1:08Speaker 1: addition to being a sociopath, he is a person who
- 1:11Speaker 1: was arrested for and prosecuted and excuse me, arrested and
- 1:15Speaker 1: convicted for reckless driving and then did not do his
- 1:18Speaker 1: community service and infacted his community service for himself for
- 1:21Speaker 1: his pack, which is crazy down anyway, and also inflated
- 1:25Speaker 1: his career as a prosecutor.
- 1:28Speaker 3: But all of that's no good.
- 1:29Speaker 2: So all that's good.
- 1:31Speaker 1: I mean my top lines are look, I think certainly
- 1:35Speaker 1: a very pleasing night for Democrats. To me, the margins
- 1:39Speaker 1: are impressive, and I think worrisome for Republicans because yes,
- 1:44Speaker 1: New Jersey and Virginia were Harris plus six ish states
- 1:49Speaker 1: a little under six. I believe Cheryl's up over like
- 1:55Speaker 1: eleven or twelve at this point. Obviously that it'll be continue,
- 1:59Speaker 1: it'll be finished counting at some point.
- 2:01Speaker 2: By the way, I got up at like three thirty,
- 2:03Speaker 2: so I'm just a little There's also kay.
- 2:08Speaker 1: And in Virginia also a double digit win for Abigail Spamberger.
- 2:13Speaker 1: I believe that's the first time for a double digit
- 2:15Speaker 1: win like that for a Democrat since two thousand and nine,
- 2:18Speaker 1: so that is substantial. It also led to down ballot
- 2:22Speaker 1: problems for Republicans in the state of Virginia, so the
- 2:26Speaker 1: in the last ten years, Republicans will go from having
- 2:29Speaker 1: a supermajority to like closer to a Democratic supermajority, and
- 2:33Speaker 1: they're going to do a lot of shady things down
- 2:35Speaker 1: in Richmond. There's also indications that in places like for instance,
- 2:40Speaker 1: Bucks County, Pennsylvania, which is the swingiest county of the
- 2:44Speaker 1: swingiest state, like the county you're looking for, a lot
- 2:48Speaker 1: of those local elections went left and they were nationalized
- 2:52Speaker 1: about immigration and economic concerns. So the GOP has a
- 2:57Speaker 1: year to prove to people that it can do the
- 2:59Speaker 1: economic and helped them.
- 3:01Speaker 4: Yeah, and get turnout to where it needs to be.
- 3:05Speaker 4: As we've talked about on this show, a lot of
- 3:08Speaker 4: the GOP new voters are low propensity voters, and that's
- 3:12Speaker 4: a problem for the GOP because they aren't the ones
- 3:15Speaker 4: who come out for the state for the school board elections,
- 3:19Speaker 4: and they don't come out for the state houses, and
- 3:21Speaker 4: all of that is of course a problem. I will
- 3:25Speaker 4: say there were some bright spots that nobody's mentioning because
- 3:28Speaker 4: they're kind of small, But then so is the school
- 3:30Speaker 4: board in Bucks County. It's kind of like we're only
- 3:33Speaker 4: getting the negative news out of those smaller elections. But
- 3:35Speaker 4: I'll tell you in New York, the Nassau County executive,
- 3:39Speaker 4: Bruce Blakeman won reelection. That one was supposed to be
- 3:42Speaker 4: tight and ended up not being that tight. In Miami Beach,
- 3:45Speaker 4: you know, I've mentioned on the show before that Miami
- 3:48Speaker 4: has a lot of mayors. They don't have a lot
- 3:50Speaker 4: of power, but they have. Miami Beach mayor is kind
- 3:53Speaker 4: of his own thing, and he does have quite a
- 3:54Speaker 4: bit of power. And he cleaned up South Beach, Stephen Minor,
- 3:57Speaker 4: he really did some amazing work down there, and that
- 4:00Speaker 4: was supposed to be super tight, got called fairly early
- 4:03Speaker 4: that he had won it.
- 4:05Speaker 3: So are these giant races. No, but those are two
- 4:09Speaker 3: blue areas.
- 4:10Speaker 4: Long Island is getting redder, and you know, COVID kind
- 4:13Speaker 4: of moved it redder. And the presidential election they voted
- 4:17Speaker 4: for Trump. But in general it's a suburb of New
- 4:19Speaker 4: York and it's not a deep red enclave. And Bruce
- 4:23Speaker 4: Blakeman winning that is great Miami Beach. You know, Republicans
- 4:27Speaker 4: simply don't have that many city mayors, and so the
- 4:30Speaker 4: fact that he has won reelection there Stephen Minor, that's great.
- 4:33Speaker 4: In Miami the city, it's going to be a runoff
- 4:36Speaker 4: between the Democrat and Republican. That could have gone worse
- 4:39Speaker 4: because the third place person is another Democrat. It could
- 4:42Speaker 4: have been a runoff between a Democrat and a Democrat.
- 4:46Speaker 4: It's a Republican mayor right now, Brantis Suarez.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Again, this isn't a New York City mayorship. They have
- 4:53Speaker 3: like four neighborhoods. It's not that huge a deal.
- 4:56Speaker 4: But again, if we're talking about school boards in Bucks County,
- 4:59Speaker 4: I don't see why we shouldn't be mentioning some of
- 5:01Speaker 4: the smaller but good results from last night.
- 5:05Speaker 2: No, this is fair.
- 5:05Speaker 1: I think in any situation where a party has a
- 5:09Speaker 1: bad election night, you have to you have to sort
- 5:14Speaker 1: of like short circuit your emotional response. And Gosha, I
- 5:18Speaker 1: heard this from somebody at some point that said, just like,
- 5:21Speaker 1: I am accepting this data like data received, right. Yes, yes,
- 5:25Speaker 1: there's an update to my priors and we're thinking about it, right.
- 5:29Speaker 1: And so I think, especially the way that these off
- 5:32Speaker 1: your elections are set up. Again, expectations were not high
- 5:34Speaker 1: for Republicans, but I think some of these margins are concerning.
- 5:37Speaker 1: It gives you a year to figure out what kind
- 5:40Speaker 1: of pitch you want to be making, I thought Emily
- 5:42Speaker 1: Joshinsky had a great way of putting it.
- 5:45Speaker 2: She said, yeah, like these were reaches to begin with.
- 5:47Speaker 3: We've said on the show.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, But she said tonight is good evidence that
- 5:51Speaker 1: some of what felt like the future during peak Woke
- 5:54Speaker 1: won't work without being tethered to Mom Donnie's style, affordability
- 5:58Speaker 1: of sessions.
- 5:59Speaker 2: After the vibes talk about I want to talk about girls' sports.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Great, frame it as an elite fixation and tie it
- 6:06Speaker 1: right back to your message about jobs, taxes, corporate power.
- 6:09Speaker 1: In other words, like, yes, people wanted to break from woke,
- 6:13Speaker 1: but they did not want the corresponding mirror version of
- 6:16Speaker 1: a culture war. They want you to talk to them
- 6:18Speaker 1: about their grocery things, and they want and if you
- 6:21Speaker 1: point out the girls sports stuff as an indicator that
- 6:24Speaker 1: these people are totally out of touch with your views
- 6:27Speaker 1: and your concerns, that's what that is.
- 6:30Speaker 2: I thought that was a good way of putting in.
- 6:31Speaker 3: Yeah, that's true.
- 6:32Speaker 4: I also I just think Mom Donnie in New York
- 6:34Speaker 4: City is its own thing. It's not really comparable to
- 6:37Speaker 4: a lot of places. And the truth is he was
- 6:40Speaker 4: running against Andrew Como, who was a horrific candidate. And
- 6:44Speaker 4: you know, I have to say, I feel like I
- 6:46Speaker 4: have been saying it on this show, but in general,
- 6:50Speaker 4: I have limited my fire.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Before the election on Andrew Como.
- 6:54Speaker 4: I didn't want to be the New Yorker who left
- 6:57Speaker 4: and is not letting the New Yorkers get their right.
- 7:01Speaker 3: So I didn't, for example, talk.
- 7:03Speaker 4: About how horrible his last AD was, which was like
- 7:06Speaker 4: literally chat GPT generic, like I'm a politician, I want
- 7:11Speaker 4: the things that you want, vote for me, the politician,
- 7:14Speaker 4: and it was like zero personality. He never seemed like
- 7:18Speaker 4: he wanted it. He never worked hard enough, he never
- 7:21Speaker 4: asked conservatives for their vote. He never endorsed any of
- 7:23Speaker 4: the Republicans running under him. Wadmaran was a great example
- 7:26Speaker 4: of that. She was running for district attorney. She could
- 7:29Speaker 4: have used his endorsement. He was a terrible candidate. So
- 7:34Speaker 4: like we could take the lesson that New Yorkers wanted socialism,
- 7:37Speaker 4: and maybe they did, but it was fairly close, and
- 7:40Speaker 4: it was Andrew Cuomo that people had to turn to.
- 7:43Speaker 4: When I look at, for example, my South Brooklyn, my
- 7:47Speaker 4: home kind of area of South Brooklyn, it went overwhelmingly
- 7:50Speaker 4: for Andrew Cuomo. This is an area that voted for
- 7:53Speaker 4: Donald Trump. Before these people understood what to do. They
- 7:56Speaker 4: understood that they had to vote not for courtesy with
- 7:59Speaker 4: a Republican but for angew Caomo. I'm sure that was
- 8:02Speaker 4: hard for some people, and yet they did it anyway.
- 8:04Speaker 4: And I'm sure that a better candidate who wasn't phoning
- 8:08Speaker 4: it in could have beat Mom Donnie.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Yeah are uh.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Rob Henderson, who famously coined the term luxury beliefs, He
- 8:17Speaker 1: noted that the working class didn't go for zorn college grads.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Did college grade college grad women in particular, who were
- 8:26Speaker 1: a huge, huge part of that. No, I'm with you
- 8:30Speaker 1: one of the I think one of the warnings out
- 8:33Speaker 1: of this for anyone who's interested in like a sort
- 8:36Speaker 1: of fringy, charming, charming person not getting major nominations in
- 8:41Speaker 1: their party should not nominate a scandal ridden NEPO baby
- 8:45Speaker 1: entitlement guy to face seems like an easy call, new
- 8:49Speaker 1: interesting face of your party. Like, I don't think that's
- 8:51Speaker 1: going to go well because I think people are in
- 8:54Speaker 1: their sort of constant annoyance back and forth with either party.
- 8:58Speaker 1: You know, they're looking for a new messenger. They like
- 9:00Speaker 1: the outsider thing. And Mum Dannie for all of his
- 9:03Speaker 1: faults and all the things. I disagree with him. And frankly,
- 9:05Speaker 1: he hasn't worked very hard at any other job he's
- 9:07Speaker 1: ever had. He did hit the street.
- 9:09Speaker 4: Got it, Yep, he did all the things. Yeah, he
- 9:12Speaker 4: really did. He wanted it. He wanted it.
- 9:15Speaker 3: And Andrew Como did not.
- 9:16Speaker 4: And about Curtis Sliva like this was his second time running.
- 9:20Speaker 4: I like Curtis Leiwa. I always respected him. I always
- 9:22Speaker 4: liked the work that he did with the Guardian Angels.
- 9:25Speaker 4: He used to make my grandma feel safe in the
- 9:26Speaker 4: nineteen he's in Brooklyn, when she would see him on
- 9:29Speaker 4: the subway, I have, you know, a warmth for him.
- 9:32Speaker 4: It's over with Curtis Leiwa, Like Republicans in New York
- 9:35Speaker 4: need to rebuild. They need to go back to that
- 9:38Speaker 4: feeling that they had right after Eric Adams dropped out,
- 9:41Speaker 4: where they were looking around and hoping to find like
- 9:43Speaker 4: a bloomberg ye businessman and to run that guy. Start
- 9:48Speaker 4: that process now, because guess what, in four years the
- 9:50Speaker 4: election comes right around again, Like.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Yes it does.
- 9:53Speaker 4: Yes, it doesn't don't be like, oh you know who,
- 9:55Speaker 4: we have Curtis Leewa again, Like enough of that, find
- 9:59Speaker 4: a busy man.
- 10:00Speaker 3: And you run him.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Did you listen to Mom Donnie's victory speech.
- 10:04Speaker 3: Yes, it was. You know, I felt like we called it.
- 10:08Speaker 2: I think we saw that one coming. Yeah.
- 10:10Speaker 4: I was like Mary, Catherine and I a lot of things.
- 10:12Speaker 4: People were surprised. You know, I know you're friendly with
- 10:15Speaker 4: Van Jones. Van Jones was very surprised and disappointed in
- 10:18Speaker 4: the speech. He said, I felt like it was a
- 10:20Speaker 4: little bit of a character switch here where the warm, open,
- 10:24Speaker 4: embracing guy that's close to working people was not on
- 10:26Speaker 4: stage night, and then there was some other voice on stage.
- 10:29Speaker 3: If you listened to normally, he'd know we predicted this.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Yeah, it was coming.
- 10:34Speaker 1: It was a very ooh he was feeling himself, Carol. Yep,
- 10:37Speaker 1: he was feeling himself. And look he earned this. It's
- 10:41Speaker 1: a twenty two minute long speech. We listened so you
- 10:44Speaker 1: don't have to. It was very aggressive. Yeah, it was
- 10:47Speaker 1: very much him stating explicitly that I am the foil
- 10:51Speaker 1: to Trump. That's why I'm here. He also said something
- 10:54Speaker 1: weird which didn't make sense to me. He was like,
- 10:56Speaker 1: what better to figure out how to defeat Trump than
- 10:59Speaker 1: the city that created him? And I was like, really,
- 11:01Speaker 1: that does make sense. Yeah, but it was very aggressive.
- 11:05Speaker 2: He said.
- 11:06Speaker 1: At one point, I know you're listening. Trump, I know
- 11:09Speaker 1: you're watching. I have four words for you.
- 11:11Speaker 3: Uh yeah, turn the volume of volume.
- 11:15Speaker 1: And I was like what as battle cries go like
- 11:17Speaker 1: not that badass.
- 11:18Speaker 4: But I literally was like turn, uh yeah, it is forwards. Okay,
- 11:21Speaker 4: all right, you could have been turned the volume, you
- 11:23Speaker 4: know whatever.
- 11:24Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 11:25Speaker 4: We do have a clip actually of Mom Donnie saying,
- 11:28Speaker 4: what is just a terrifying sentence. We will prove that
- 11:34Speaker 4: there is no problem too large for government to solve
- 11:38Speaker 4: and no concern too small for it.
- 11:40Speaker 3: To care about.
- 11:43Speaker 2: No, he don't know.
- 11:45Speaker 1: He also sets the expectations super high.
- 11:48Speaker 2: I mean he he said it.
- 11:50Speaker 1: He said, I'm going to set the expectations high for
- 11:52Speaker 1: this administration, and we're going to meet them. And I
- 11:55Speaker 1: believe the three big things at the end that he
- 11:57Speaker 1: talked about were freeze the rent, so magically there's going
- 12:00Speaker 1: to be new housing even though we're freezing the raising.
- 12:03Speaker 1: There's going to be fast and free and safe buses.
- 12:08Speaker 1: And I think the third one was just universal healthcare.
- 12:11Speaker 1: I don't know how that one's, you know, going to
- 12:12Speaker 1: happen if you're jam and dream big. That's that's like
- 12:15Speaker 1: when the kid in middle school says he'll serve you
- 12:17Speaker 1: like now that you're a candio at.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Yeah, he'll have the soda fountain in the cafeteria.
- 12:21Speaker 2: With the buses.
- 12:22Speaker 1: By the way, I thought of you know that, you
- 12:24Speaker 1: know the thing where it's like you can have cheap,
- 12:26Speaker 1: fast or good.
- 12:28Speaker 2: I know very well choose too.
- 12:31Speaker 1: These buses are not going to be safe, fast and free.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Yeah clean, it's not not going to be a good.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Situation that's going to happen, but those are.
- 12:39Speaker 1: You know, he makes it very easy to measure his
- 12:42Speaker 1: progress because he gave the three promises and he said
- 12:44Speaker 1: we're going to make it happen.
- 12:45Speaker 2: So we'll check out.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Can't raise taxes. That's a state thing to pay for
- 12:50Speaker 3: those free buses.
- 12:51Speaker 4: So already check that one off the list, because Kathy
- 12:55Speaker 4: Hochel is not raising taxes before her own run against
- 12:59Speaker 4: at least a five not happening. We're going to take
- 13:01Speaker 4: a short break and come right back at looking ahead
- 13:05Speaker 4: after these elections.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Be right back.
- 13:10Speaker 4: We are back on normally where we're licking our wounds
- 13:14Speaker 4: from the election last night.
- 13:15Speaker 3: And looking ahead.
- 13:17Speaker 4: And one of the things that I've just mentioned we're
- 13:20Speaker 4: looking ahead too, is there's going to be a governor's
- 13:23Speaker 4: race in New York and all of these polls are
- 13:25Speaker 4: showing it very tight or with least definek actually leading
- 13:29Speaker 4: Kathy Hokel. So the question will become how much is
- 13:33Speaker 4: Kathy Hokeel going to bend to zorarmm Dannie? Is she
- 13:38Speaker 4: going to let any of his policies that require state
- 13:41Speaker 4: approval will get through. The Governor and the mayor of
- 13:43Speaker 4: New York City famously hate each other always, every single time.
- 13:48Speaker 4: They don't like each other. And it doesn't matter if
- 13:50Speaker 4: they're from the same party. Andrew Cuomo and bilde Blasio
- 13:53Speaker 4: hated each other, George Pataki and Rudy Giuliani hated each other.
- 13:57Speaker 3: It's like a whole thing.
- 13:58Speaker 4: So it really will be interesting to see what happens
- 14:02Speaker 4: with this.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's also you know, of course, many Republicans
- 14:07Speaker 1: are rubbing their hands together to have mom Donny as
- 14:10Speaker 1: the face of the party, and he has positioned himself
- 14:13Speaker 1: as that. I do wonder a little bit, do you
- 14:15Speaker 1: think AOC is a little salty because he's going to
- 14:17Speaker 1: be like the new thing.
- 14:19Speaker 3: I don't know your hit he's in her lane.
- 14:22Speaker 4: I mean, he's is, but he can't go anywhere because
- 14:25Speaker 4: he was born in Uganda, so true, he can't be president.
- 14:29Speaker 4: He is no threat to her. And I mean, is
- 14:32Speaker 4: he going to run against her for Chuck Schumer's seat?
- 14:34Speaker 4: I kind of don't see it.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Well, a friend here, I'm speaking at several things this week,
- 14:39Speaker 1: but someone made the point to me, just a little
- 14:42Speaker 1: point of light, a brightness that you know, the New
- 14:45Speaker 1: York Mayoralty is supposed to be this giant jumping off
- 14:49Speaker 1: place for national stardom on several occasions, and it has
- 14:52Speaker 1: not come to fruition. Bloomberg being happens, Well know who
- 14:56Speaker 1: Bloomberg is, but he kept failing once he hit the
- 14:59Speaker 1: national stage. That's happened several times over It may indeed
- 15:03Speaker 1: happen with this guy as well. But meanwhile, Republicans do
- 15:06Speaker 1: get to run against the idea of actual socialism. And
- 15:09Speaker 1: he's out there on stage saying I am a democratic
- 15:12Speaker 1: socialist and I'm not apologizing for it, period.
- 15:15Speaker 3: And he uses communist lingo in his tweets and stuff
- 15:19Speaker 3: communists in his all the time.
- 15:22Speaker 4: You know, from each according to their ability to you know,
- 15:26Speaker 4: everybody according to their means.
- 15:27Speaker 3: Whatever.
- 15:28Speaker 4: Alex Soros, George Soros's son, get thrilled about the communist mayor.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Like billionaires, We like billionaires, We like.
- 15:37Speaker 3: Some billionaires, Mary Catherine.
- 15:39Speaker 4: Yeah, it's funny because you know, I thought we weren't
- 15:42Speaker 4: allowed to be so open about our billionaire friendships.
- 15:46Speaker 3: But Alex Soros seems to get a.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Pass righteous the righteous billionaires.
- 15:50Speaker 3: Yeah, the one they will.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Get a pass in the in the new in the revolution.
- 15:55Speaker 3: Yeah, they won't be against the wall.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Not led by the working class, but led by the
- 16:02Speaker 1: Ivy League in New York City. I do think again,
- 16:05Speaker 1: looking forward, there were indications we were looking for whether
- 16:09Speaker 1: sort of young men or Latino voters would stick around
- 16:13Speaker 1: with the Republican Party, and largely it looks like they
- 16:15Speaker 1: either didn't turn out or did not vote for Republicans.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Jake Sherman notes that two heavily Latino counties in New
- 16:21Speaker 1: Jersey that Trump won in twenty twenty four slong back
- 16:23Speaker 1: to the left, Sheryl flap Passaic and Cumberland Counties, and
- 16:26Speaker 1: improved Harris's margin in Hudson County by a double digit advantage.
- 16:31Speaker 1: And then, as you and I were tossing around earlier today,
- 16:35Speaker 1: the young women numbers are just out down. Yeah, and
- 16:40Speaker 1: if you don't, if the party doesn't start to work
- 16:42Speaker 1: on a little bit of convincing and peeling off with
- 16:46Speaker 1: that demographic, they will be in the same situation that
- 16:50Speaker 1: Democrats are in with young dudes.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Right, Absolutely, except by the way, young women are more
- 16:57Speaker 2: reliable voters.
- 16:58Speaker 4: Right, it's more problem, quite tough that we've picked up
- 17:02Speaker 4: the voters who are not reliable. There's also the issue
- 17:05Speaker 4: that you know again, you know, we talked about the
- 17:08Speaker 4: Nick fuents, the Tucker Carlson Nick Fuentes after yesterday's election
- 17:12Speaker 4: came out and was like that him and his whatever
- 17:15Speaker 4: idiot roper's are thrilled about the election and that if
- 17:19Speaker 4: the you know, MAGA doesn't start to take them seriously,
- 17:22Speaker 4: they're going to campaign against them in Virginia whatever he
- 17:26Speaker 4: said in Iowa and New Hampshire. Listen, this is an
- 17:29Speaker 4: anti American faction of the Republican Party, and I actually
- 17:34Speaker 4: don't see them as part of the right. But if
- 17:37Speaker 4: people keep making room for this guy, he tells you
- 17:40Speaker 4: he wants to destroy your movement and if you're too
- 17:43Speaker 4: dumb to just take it.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Will Yeah, Well, in the analog on the left, like
- 17:49Speaker 1: both sides have to deal with this type of gatekeeping
- 17:53Speaker 1: or type of discussion within the party. And even though
- 17:57Speaker 1: the Abigail Spanberger's and the Mikey Cheryls of the world
- 17:59Speaker 1: put on their pastel suits and look, yeah, they look
- 18:04Speaker 1: normally coded, the party is still dealing with this. There's
- 18:07Speaker 1: a New York magazine spread that our friend Beckett Adams
- 18:10Speaker 1: describes this way. In a glossy spread published this week
- 18:13Speaker 1: by New York Magaziness Intelligence Are, the publication gushed over
- 18:16Speaker 1: the twenty five youngest Democrats to Watch. Among those listed
- 18:20Speaker 1: as the most promising politicians of the next generation are
- 18:23Speaker 1: a man who believes he's a woman, a mayor who
- 18:25Speaker 1: threw a coloreds only Christmas party, a self proclaimed gen
- 18:28Speaker 1: Z influencer indicted for obstructing federal officers, an oyster man
- 18:32Speaker 1: who until a few weeks ago sported a sizable Nazi
- 18:35Speaker 1: tattoo on his chest, and an eco radical former congressional
- 18:38Speaker 1: chief of staff known best for buying his position with
- 18:41Speaker 1: campaign donations and pushing the Green New Deal. So like,
- 18:47Speaker 1: if that's what they continue to push, everybody can get
- 18:49Speaker 1: too big for their bridges and the vibe is telling
- 18:52Speaker 1: them that they can do whatever they want.
- 18:54Speaker 2: The vibe is not telling you that. And I think
- 18:56Speaker 2: the vibe shift may have made Trump a little big.
- 18:59Speaker 1: For his bridges on some of these issues, and this
- 19:01Speaker 1: might lead to an adjustment right.
- 19:03Speaker 4: Denesh Desoso pointed out that very South Asian precinct in
- 19:09Speaker 4: Virginia which had swung from Trump plus thirty to Mickey
- 19:13Speaker 4: Cheryl plus seventy six, and Dnesh points out a very
- 19:16Speaker 4: loud group on the right said Indians go home, and
- 19:18Speaker 4: so many of them did to the Democratic Party. We
- 19:21Speaker 4: can't have these losers in our tent. And this, you know,
- 19:25Speaker 4: I get a lot of like, oh, you just don't
- 19:27Speaker 4: like them. On Israel has zero to do with Israel. Again,
- 19:30Speaker 4: Nick Foints today was specifically talking to Tucker, said, this
- 19:34Speaker 4: is not about Israel. This is about Jewish power, and
- 19:37Speaker 4: you're going to continue to lose people. The normies don't
- 19:41Speaker 4: like this.
- 19:41Speaker 1: If you tell people, if you tell people you don't
- 19:44Speaker 1: want them as part of your coalition, they will oblige you.
- 19:48Speaker 2: That's how that works. And we're building coalitions, that's what
- 19:50Speaker 2: you're supposed to be doing.
- 19:52Speaker 4: Yeah, we'll be right back on normally talking about the
- 19:55Speaker 4: hottest female rapper, and we're not about talking about her rapping.
- 19:58Speaker 3: So yeah, we are back on normally where.
- 20:05Speaker 4: Nicki Minaj Niki Manage is the only outspoken voice in
- 20:13Speaker 4: Hollywood about Christians being killed in various places in Africa. Yep,
- 20:21Speaker 4: it's actually amazing she you know, I remember she took
- 20:25Speaker 4: a stand against the COVID vaccine, which was risky at
- 20:28Speaker 4: the time. She did, however, have some crazy reason for
- 20:32Speaker 4: being against it that wasn't like it was like something
- 20:35Speaker 4: about like men's testicles, like shriveling up or something whatever,
- 20:40Speaker 4: whatever it was, that wasn't like she might have had
- 20:44Speaker 4: the right, you know, take, but she kind of had
- 20:47Speaker 4: the wrong details anyway. Donald Trump tweeted Christianity's facing an
- 20:52Speaker 4: existential threat in Nigeria. Thousands of Christians are being killed.
- 20:55Speaker 4: Radical Islamists or responsible for this mass slaughter. I'm hereby
- 20:59Speaker 4: making Nigeria a country of particular concern, but that is
- 21:02Speaker 4: the least of it. When Christians or any such group
- 21:04Speaker 4: is slaughtered like it's happening in Nigeria thirty one hundred
- 21:07Speaker 4: versus forty four hundred and seventy six worldwide, something must
- 21:10Speaker 4: be done. I'm asking Congressman Riley Moore, together with Chairman
- 21:14Speaker 4: Tom Cole, to immediately look into this manner and report
- 21:17Speaker 4: back to me. We stand ready, willing and able to
- 21:20Speaker 4: save our great Christian population around the world. And you
- 21:23Speaker 4: know that's great. So nick what did Nikki say?
- 21:27Speaker 1: So Nicki Minaj's tweets the President and his team. Thanks
- 21:31Speaker 1: to the President and his team for taking this seriously.
- 21:33Speaker 1: God bless every persecuted Christian. Let's remember to lift them
- 21:36Speaker 1: up in prayer. And she went on to continue to
- 21:39Speaker 1: defend herself because of course people like how dare you? Yeah,
- 21:42Speaker 1: she responds to people over and over again saying things like,
- 21:46Speaker 1: imagine hearing that Christians are being murdered and making about
- 21:49Speaker 1: your sexual orientation. I'll advocate for you the same way
- 21:52Speaker 1: I'm advocating for murdered Christians in Nigeria. I always have
- 21:56Speaker 1: just remember that diligently, compassionately. Just remembered that part too,
- 22:00Speaker 1: So she's not shutting up about it.
- 22:02Speaker 3: It's crazy.
- 22:03Speaker 1: And I believe she was invited to the White House
- 22:05Speaker 1: or no, she was invited up to the unn by
- 22:08Speaker 1: like well yeah, and she.
- 22:09Speaker 3: Said, yeah, that sounds nice.
- 22:10Speaker 2: I'd like to be there right, just the.
- 22:13Speaker 4: Fact that she's the only one saying anything, or you know,
- 22:16Speaker 4: there's a couple of other like Patricia Heaton obviously is
- 22:19Speaker 4: so amazing on basically everything. But you know, there just
- 22:24Speaker 4: isn't that many people in Hollywood saying a word about
- 22:28Speaker 4: these murdered Christians.
- 22:29Speaker 3: I would say that.
- 22:30Speaker 4: People on the right are quiet about it in a
- 22:33Speaker 4: way that I think is abhorrent, and it's important that
- 22:36Speaker 4: Donald Trump does something about it. I know we're not
- 22:39Speaker 4: supposed to flex American muscle everywhere around the world, or
- 22:41Speaker 4: we're called neo cons, but I think actually protecting Christians
- 22:44Speaker 4: in Nigeria is a very good use of American power.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Well, and bringing and also using soft power and using
- 22:50Speaker 1: people like Nicki Minaj to bring attention to this is
- 22:54Speaker 1: powerful in a sense in and of itself, even when
- 22:58Speaker 1: we're not on the ground or.
- 22:59Speaker 2: What have you.
- 22:59Speaker 1: So I would love to see her at the UN Yes, please,
- 23:03Speaker 1: all the misogynist kingdoms are going to have to be like, oh,
- 23:07Speaker 1: Nikki right and soor sensor that cover her arms.
- 23:14Speaker 2: I would enjoy it very much.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Also, just like everything about this era makes for the
- 23:18Speaker 1: strangest bedfellows, and here we have another one. I would
- 23:21Speaker 1: just say, as a wrap up on the election stuff
- 23:23Speaker 1: that this is these sort of foreign policy and pressure
- 23:28Speaker 1: issues have been so successful for Trump, and he continues
- 23:32Speaker 1: to bring home, in particular the remains of Israeli American
- 23:36Speaker 1: citizens who were still in Gaza and they're on their
- 23:39Speaker 1: way home and being honored finally, and so that all
- 23:42Speaker 1: that is good. And also he's got to make the
- 23:45Speaker 1: pitch domestically that he's doing all the things to make
- 23:47Speaker 1: your agree quality of life better and he's got to
- 23:51Speaker 1: get on that.
- 23:52Speaker 4: You could have Nikki deliver that message via rap i
- 23:55Speaker 4: quite like her music.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Yeah, let's do it.
