  about
• 1:40
  what
• 1:40
  have
• 1:41
  you
• 1:41
  been
• 1:41
  geeking
• 1:41
  out
• 1:42
  lately?
• 1:44
  I
• 1:44
  don't
• 1:44
  know
• 1:44
  how
• 1:45
  tapped
• 1:45
  into
• 1:45
  the.
• 1:46
  The
• 1:46
  gaming
• 1:46
  sphere
• 1:47
  you
• 1:47
  are,
• 1:47
  But
• 1:47
  Resident
• 1:48
  Evil
• 1:48
  9,
• 1:49
  Resident
• 1:49
  Evil
• 1:50
  Requiem
• 1:50
  came
• 1:50
  out
• 1:51
  yesterday,
• 1:52
  so
• 1:53
  that
• 1:55
  it
• 1:55
  is.
• 1:55
  It
• 1:55
  is
• 1:56
  phenomenal.
• 1:57
  It's
• 1:57
  the
• 1:57
  best
• 1:58
  Resident
• 1:58
  Evil
• 1:58
  game,
• 1:58
  in
• 1:59
  my
• 1:59
  opinion,
• 2:00
  Since
• 2:01
  Resident
• 2:02
  Evil
• 2:06
  4.
• 2:06
  Okay.
• 2:07
  Reasons
• 2:07
  he
• 2:08
  bias
• 2:08
  notwithstanding,
• 2:08
  of
• 2:09
  course.
• 2:09
  Sure,
• 2:09
  sure.
• 2:11
  All
• 2:11
  right.
• 2:11
  Awesome.
• 2:12
  Well,
• 2:12
  since
• 2:12
  we're
• 2:13
  talking
• 2:13
  sitcoms,
• 2:13
  I
• 2:14
  will.
• 2:14
  I've
• 2:15
  been
• 2:15
  excited
• 2:15
  about
• 2:16
  the
• 2:16
  Scrubs
• 2:16
  revival.
• 2:18
  The
• 2:18
  first
• 2:18
  two
• 2:18
  episodes
• 2:19
  of
• 2:19
  that
• 2:19
  landed
• 2:20
  this
• 2:20
  week,
• 2:21
  and
• 2:21
  they
• 2:21
  were
• 2:22
  about
• 2:22
  what
• 2:22
  you
• 2:23
  would
• 2:23
  expect
• 2:23
  from
• 2:24
  returning
• 2:25
  to
• 2:25
  the
• 2:25
  world
• 2:25
  of
• 2:25
  Scrubs
• 2:26
  20ish
• 2:27
  years
• 2:27
  later.
• 2:28
  That
• 2:29
  was
• 2:29
  fun.
• 2:30
  And
• 2:30
  a
• 2:31
  new
• 2:31
  show,
• 2:31
  the
• 2:32
  Fall
• 2:32
  and
• 2:32
  Rise
• 2:32
  of
• 2:33
  Reggie
• 2:33
  Dinkins
• 2:34
  with
• 2:36
  Tracy
• 2:36
  Jordan
• 2:37
  and
• 2:37
  Daniel
• 2:37
  Radcliffe,
• 2:38
  who.
• 2:38
  Who
• 2:38
  would
• 2:39
  have
• 2:39
  ever
• 2:39
  had
• 2:39
  on
• 2:39
  their
• 2:40
  bingo
• 2:40
  card,
• 2:40
  Daniel
• 2:41
  Radcliffe
• 2:42
  starring
• 2:42
  in
• 2:42
  an
• 2:43
  NBC
• 2:44
  major
• 2:44
  network
• 2:45
  sitcom.
• 2:47
  But
• 2:47
  here
• 2:48
  we
• 2:48
  are,
• 2:48
  and
• 2:49
  it
• 2:49
  is
• 2:49
  very
• 2:49
  good
• 2:49
  and
• 2:49
  very
• 2:50
  entertaining.
• 2:50
  That
• 2:50
  sounds
• 2:51
  so
• 2:51
  phenomenal.
• 2:52
  I.
• 2:52
  I
• 2:52
  want
• 2:53
  to
• 2:53
  see
• 2:53
  that.
• 2:53
  That
• 2:53
  sounds.
• 2:54
  Yeah.
• 2:54
  So
• 2:54
  Tracy
• 2:55
  Jordan
• 2:55
  is
• 2:56
  a
• 2:56
  disgraced
• 2:57
  former
• 2:57
  NFL
• 2:58
  star
• 2:59
  and
• 3:00
  Dana
• 3:01
  Ratcliffe
• 3:01
  is
• 3:02
  a.
• 3:04
  A
• 3:04
  somewhat
• 3:04
  pretentious
• 3:05
  documentary
• 3:05
  filmmaker
• 3:06
  who
• 3:06
  also
• 3:06
  has
• 3:06
  had
• 3:07
  a
• 3:08
  change
• 3:08
  of
• 3:08
  fortune
• 3:09
  in
• 3:09
  his
• 3:09
  life.
• 3:10
  And
• 3:10
  so
• 3:10
  they
• 3:10
  are
• 3:11
  both
• 3:11
  trying
• 3:11
  to
• 3:12
  find
• 3:12
  some
• 3:13
  redemption.
• 3:13
  Hence
• 3:14
  the
• 3:14
  fall
• 3:14
  and
• 3:14
  rise.
• 3:16
  Reggie
• 3:16
  Dinkins
• 3:16
  being
• 3:17
  Trace
• 3:17
  Jordan's
• 3:18
  character,
• 3:18
  he's
• 3:19
  got
• 3:19
  the
• 3:19
  perfect
• 3:20
  build
• 3:20
  for
• 3:21
  disgraced,
• 3:22
  pretentious
• 3:23
  documentary
• 3:24
  maker.
• 3:26
  Yes.
• 3:26
  You
• 3:27
  kind
• 3:27
  of
• 3:27
  just
• 3:27
  sort
• 3:27
  of
• 3:27
  look
• 3:27
  at
• 3:28
  him
• 3:28
  and
• 3:28
  go,
• 3:28
  yeah,
• 3:29
  I
• 3:29
  get
• 3:29
  what
• 3:29
  we're
• 3:29
  doing
• 3:29
  here.
• 3:30
  I
• 3:30
  buy
• 3:30
  it.
• 3:30
  That
• 3:30
  makes
• 3:30
  perfect
• 3:31
  sense.
• 3:32
  Yes.
• 3:32
  With
• 3:32
  all
• 3:32
  respect
• 3:32
  to
• 3:32
  Danny
• 3:33
  Radcliffe,
• 3:33
  who
• 3:33
  seems
• 3:34
  lovely
• 3:35
  as
• 3:35
  an
• 3:35
  actual
• 3:35
  person.
• 3:39
  All
• 3:39
  right,
• 3:40
  so
• 3:40
  that's
• 3:40
  what
• 3:40
  we
• 3:40
  are
• 3:41
  geeking
• 3:41
  out
• 3:41
  on
• 3:42
  because
• 3:42
  we
• 3:42
  are
• 3:43
  systematic
• 3:43
  ecologists,
• 3:44
  after
• 3:44
  all.
• 3:45
  And
• 3:45
  if
• 3:45
  you
• 3:46
  want
• 3:46
  to
• 3:47
  hear
• 3:47
  more
• 3:48
  of
• 3:48
  our
• 3:48
  systematic
• 3:49
  geeking,
• 3:49
  and
• 3:49
  maybe
• 3:49
  we'll
• 3:50
  talk
• 3:50
  about
• 3:50
  those
• 3:50
  shows
• 3:51
  or
• 3:51
  that
• 3:51
  game
• 3:51
  or
• 3:52
  other
• 3:52
  things
• 3:52
  in
• 3:52
  the
• 3:52
  future,
• 3:54
  please
• 3:54
  remember
• 3:54
  to
• 3:55
  rate
• 3:55
  and
• 3:55
  review
• 3:55
  the
• 3:56
  show
• 3:56
  wherever
• 3:56
  you
• 3:56
  get
• 3:56
  your
• 3:57
  podcasts
• 3:57
  or
• 3:57
  wherever
• 3:57
  you're
• 3:58
  watching
• 3:58
  this
• 3:59
  so
• 3:59
  that
• 3:59
  it
• 4:00
  gets
• 4:00
  boost
• 4:00
  in
• 4:00
  the
• 4:00
  algorithm
• 4:01
  so
• 4:01
  that
• 4:01
  you
• 4:01
  can
• 4:01
  find
• 4:02
  those
• 4:02
  future
• 4:02
  episodes
• 4:03
  and
• 4:03
  other
• 4:03
  people
• 4:03
  can
• 4:03

  them
• 4:04
  as
• 4:04
  well.
• 4:05
  We
• 4:05
  also
• 4:05

  to

  one

  of

  Amber
• 4:08

• 4:09
  for
• 4:09
  her
• 4:09
  contributions.
• 4:10
  Thank
• 4:10
  you
• 4:10
  so
• 4:10
  much.
• 4:11
  And
• 4:11
  if
• 4:11
  you
• 4:12
  would
• 4:12
  like
• 4:12
  your
• 4:12

  out,
• 4:13
  you

• 4:33
  And
• 4:33
  as
• 4:34
  I
• 4:34
  mentioned,

  this

  is

• 4:37
  That's

• 4:38
  for
• 4:38
  this
• 4:38

• 4:39
  we've

  you're

• 4:54
  Be

• 4:56
  of
• 4:57
  the
• 4:57
  other
• 4:58
  episodes
• 4:58
  that
• 4:58
  we've
• 4:58
  done
• 4:59
  and
• 4:59
  keep
• 5:00
  track
• 5:00
  of
• 5:01
  forthcoming
• 5:01
  ones
• 5:01
  as
• 5:02
  well.
• 5:02
  But
• 5:02
  remember
• 5:03
  that
• 5:04
  one
• 5:04
  of
• 5:04
  those
• 5:05
  episodes
• 5:05
  a
• 5:05
  month
• 5:05
  will
• 5:06
  only
• 5:06
  be
• 5:06
  available
• 5:07
  to
• 5:08
  those
• 5:08
  free
• 5:09
  or
• 5:09
  paying
• 5:09
  members
• 5:09
  of
• 5:10
  the
• 5:11
  podcast.
• 5:11
  So
• 5:12
  if
• 5:12
  you
• 5:12
  want
• 5:12
  to
• 5:12
  become
• 5:13
  a
• 5:13
  member,
• 5:13
  if
• 5:13
  you.
• 5:13
  To
• 5:14
  make
• 5:14
  sure
• 5:14
  that
• 5:14
  you
• 5:14
  get
• 5:14
  all
• 5:15
  of
• 5:15
  the
• 5:15
  episodes.
• 5:17
  So
• 5:17
  that's
• 5:18
  the
• 5:18
  business
• 5:18
  of
• 5:18
  podcasting.
• 5:19
  Let's
• 5:19
  get
• 5:19

• 5:19

• 5:19

  start

  He

• 6:01
  When
• 6:01
  we
• 6:01
  first
• 6:02
  are
• 6:02
  introduced
• 6:02
  to
• 6:03
  him,
• 6:03
  he
• 6:03
  just,
• 6:04
  you
• 6:04
  know,
• 6:04
  he
• 6:04
  seems
• 6:05
  like
• 6:05
  the
• 6:05
  epitome
• 6:05
  of
• 6:05
  the
• 6:05
  Peter
• 6:06
  Principle.
• 6:06
  He
• 6:06
  has
• 6:06
  been,
• 6:08
  he
• 6:08
  has
• 6:08
  been
• 6:08
  promoted
• 6:09
  to
• 6:09
  his
• 6:09
  level
• 6:10
  of
• 6:10
  maximum
• 6:10
  incompetence.
• 6:11
  And,
• 6:12
  and
• 6:12
  that
• 6:12
  is
• 6:13
  on
• 6:13
  full
• 6:13
  display.
• 6:14
  Yep.
• 6:15
  He
• 6:16
  grows
• 6:16
  a
• 6:16
  lot
• 6:16
  though.
• 6:17
  He
• 6:17
  sure
• 6:17
  does.
• 6:18
  He
• 6:18
  grows
• 6:19
  a
• 6:19
  lot.
• 6:20
  And
• 6:20
  most
• 6:20
  of
• 6:20
  the
• 6:20
  characters
• 6:21
  do.
• 6:22
  Yes.
• 6:23
  As
• 6:23
  one
• 6:24
  might
• 6:24
  hope
• 6:25
  for
• 6:25
  a
• 6:25
  show
• 6:26
  that
• 6:26
  lasted
• 6:26
  nine
• 6:27
  seasons,
• 6:28
  I
• 6:28
  think.
• 6:28
  Yeah,
• 6:29
  six
• 6:29
  good
• 6:29
  ones.
• 6:31
  Yeah.
• 6:32
  By
• 6:32
  some
• 6:33
  metrics,
• 6:35
  possibly
• 6:36
  coinciding
• 6:36
  with
• 6:37
  the
• 6:37
  departure
• 6:37
  of
• 6:38
  Michael
• 6:38
  Scott
• 6:38
  vec.
• 6:40
  But
• 6:40
  yeah,
• 6:41
  so
• 6:41
  he
• 6:41
  is,
• 6:41
  he's
• 6:42
  the
• 6:42
  manager.
• 6:42
  We,
• 6:42
  you
• 6:43
  know,
• 6:43
  the
• 6:43
  rest
• 6:43
  of
• 6:43
  the
• 6:43
  characters
• 6:44
  primarily
• 6:45
  are
• 6:46
  employees
• 6:47
  of
• 6:47
  his
• 6:48
  in,
• 6:48
  in
• 6:48
  their
• 6:49
  little
• 6:49
  paper
• 6:49
  office.
• 6:50
  Some
• 6:50
  salespeople,
• 6:51
  some
• 6:51
  accounting
• 6:51
  people,
• 6:52
  some
• 6:52
  folks
• 6:52
  whose
• 6:52
  job
• 6:53
  description
• 6:53
  defies
• 6:54
  explanation
• 6:55
  or
• 6:56
  at
• 6:56
  least
• 6:56
  mentioning
• 6:57
  on
• 6:57
  the
• 6:57
  show.
• 6:58
  And
• 6:59
  yeah,
• 7:00
  you
• 7:00
  know,
• 7:00
  it's,
• 7:00
  it's
• 7:00
  a
• 7:01
  sort
• 7:01
  of
• 7:02
  slice
• 7:02
  of
• 7:02
  life
• 7:03
  office
• 7:03
  comedy
• 7:04
  that
• 7:06
  I
• 7:06
  think
• 7:06
  struck
• 7:06
  a
• 7:06
  chord
• 7:06
  with
• 7:07
  a
• 7:07
  lot
• 7:07
  of
• 7:07
  people
• 7:07
  for
• 7:08
  kind
• 7:08
  of
• 7:08
  highlighting
• 7:08
  just
• 7:09
  the
• 7:09
  sort
• 7:09
  of
• 7:09
  inanity
• 7:10
  of
• 7:10
  office
• 7:11
  culture.
• 7:12
  At
• 7:12
  the
• 7:12
  time.
• 7:13
  And
• 7:14
  also
• 7:15
  featured
• 7:16
  a
• 7:17
  very
• 7:17
  popular
• 7:17
  office
• 7:17
  romance
• 7:18
  between
• 7:18
  Jim
• 7:19
  and
• 7:19
  Pam
• 7:20
  as
• 7:22
  the
• 7:22
  receptionist
• 7:23
  and
• 7:23
  sales,
• 7:24
  one
• 7:24
  of
• 7:24
  the
• 7:24
  salespeople
• 7:25
  who
• 7:26
  are
• 7:26
  initially
• 7:27
  just
• 7:27
  good
• 7:28
  friends
• 7:28
  and
• 7:28
  then
• 7:29
  romance
• 7:30
  blooms,
• 7:30
  as
• 7:31
  it
• 7:31
  often
• 7:31
  does,
• 7:31
  and
• 7:31
  these
• 7:31
  kinds
• 7:32
  of
• 7:32
  things.
• 7:33
  That's
• 7:34
  kind
• 7:34
  of
• 7:34
  the,
• 7:34
  you
• 7:34
  know,
• 7:35
  the,
• 7:36
  the
• 7:36
  setup
• 7:36
  of
• 7:36
  the
• 7:37
  show.
• 7:37
  What
• 7:37
  are
• 7:37
  you,
• 7:38
  what's
• 7:39
  your
• 7:39
  history
• 7:39
  with
• 7:39
  the
• 7:39
  office?
• 7:40
  Did
• 7:40
  you
• 7:40
  watch
• 7:40
  it
• 7:40
  as
• 7:40
  it
• 7:41
  came
• 7:41
  out?
• 7:41
  I'm
• 7:41
  gonna
• 7:41
  guess
• 7:42
  no.
• 7:42
  Yeah,
• 7:42
  not
• 7:43
  quite.
• 7:43
  We
• 7:43
  didn't
• 7:43
  have
• 7:43
  cable,
• 7:45
  so
• 7:46
  no.
• 7:47
  But
• 7:48
  I
• 7:48
  would
• 7:48
  catch
• 7:48
  it
• 7:49
  every
• 7:49
  now
• 7:49
  and
• 7:49
  then.
• 7:49
  It
• 7:49
  would
• 7:50
  be
• 7:50
  on.
• 7:50
  It
• 7:50
  wasn't.
• 7:51
  I
• 7:51
  wasn't
• 7:51
  particularly
• 7:52
  interested
• 7:52
  in
• 7:52
  it.
• 7:53
  Neither
• 7:53
  of
• 7:54
  my
• 7:54
  parents
• 7:54
  had
• 7:54
  office
• 7:55
  jobs,
• 7:56
  so,
• 7:56
  like,
• 7:57
  they
• 7:57
  weren't
• 7:58
  really
• 7:58
  that
• 7:58
  interested
• 7:59
  in
• 7:59
  it.
• 8:00
  My
• 8:00
  mom
• 8:00
  was
• 8:00
  a
• 8:00
  lab
• 8:00
  tech,
• 8:01
  my
• 8:01
  dad
• 8:02
  does
• 8:02
  floors.
• 8:04
  Just
• 8:05
  not
• 8:05
  quite
• 8:06
  for
• 8:06
  us.
• 8:08
  But
• 8:09
  I
• 8:09
  was
• 8:09
  a
• 8:09
  part
• 8:09
  of
• 8:10
  that
• 8:11
  seemingly
• 8:11
  massive
• 8:12
  group
• 8:12
  of
• 8:12
  people
• 8:12
  who
• 8:13
  really
• 8:13
  got
• 8:13
  into
• 8:13
  the
• 8:14
  show
• 8:15
  when
• 8:15
  it
• 8:16
  got
• 8:16
  put
• 8:16
  on
• 8:16
  Netflix,
• 8:18
  because,
• 8:18
  you
• 8:18
  know,
• 8:19
  I'd
• 8:19
  never
• 8:19
  seen
• 8:19
  it
• 8:20
  well,
• 8:20
  you
• 8:20
  know,
• 8:20
  other
• 8:20
  than
• 8:21
  an
• 8:21
  episode
• 8:22
  or
• 8:22
  two
• 8:22
  here
• 8:22
  and
• 8:22
  there.
• 8:23
  So
• 8:23
  when
• 8:23
  it
• 8:24
  got
• 8:24
  put
• 8:24
  on
• 8:24
  Netflix,
• 8:24
  I
• 8:24
  was
• 8:24
  like,
• 8:25
  oh,
• 8:25
  this
• 8:25
  is
• 8:25
  my
• 8:25
  chance.
• 8:25
  So
• 8:27
  I
• 8:27
  watched
• 8:27
  it
• 8:27
  once
• 8:28
  and
• 8:28
  then
• 8:28
  I
• 8:29
  watched
• 8:29
  it
• 8:29
  twice
• 8:30
  in
• 8:30
  a
• 8:30
  third
• 8:30
  time
• 8:31
  and
• 8:32
  a
• 8:32
  fourth
• 8:32
  time.
• 8:33
  And
• 8:34
  then
• 8:34
  it
• 8:34
  was
• 8:34
  just
• 8:34
  kind
• 8:35
  of
• 8:35
  the
• 8:35
  show
• 8:35
  that
• 8:35
  I
• 8:35
  had
• 8:36
  on
• 8:37
  to
• 8:37
  go
• 8:37
  to
• 8:37
  sleep
• 8:38
  most
• 8:38
  nights.
• 8:39
  So
• 8:39
  at
• 8:40
  around
• 8:40
  2017,
• 8:41
  2016,
• 8:42
  2017,
• 8:42
  I
• 8:43
  really
• 8:43
  got
• 8:43
  into
• 8:44
  it.
• 8:45
  Okay,
• 8:46
  cool.
• 8:47
  Yeah,
• 8:48
  so
• 8:48
  I
• 8:49
  was
• 8:51
  around
• 8:51
  when
• 8:52
  it,
• 8:52
  when
• 8:52
  it
• 8:53
  first
• 8:53
  aired.
• 8:53
  I
• 8:54
  remember,
• 8:54
  you
• 8:54
  know,
• 8:54
  the
• 8:55
  promos
• 8:55
  and
• 8:56
  so
• 8:56
  forth.
• 8:57
  And,
• 8:58
  you
• 8:58
  know,
• 8:59
  I
• 8:59
  think
• 8:59
  my
• 9:00
  wife
• 9:00
  and
• 9:00
  I
• 9:00
  checked
• 9:01
  out
• 9:02
  like
• 9:02
  maybe
• 9:02
  the
• 9:02
  second
• 9:02
  or
• 9:02
  third
• 9:03
  episode
• 9:03
  we
• 9:04
  gave
• 9:04
  a
• 9:04
  try
• 9:05
  and
• 9:05
  just
• 9:05
  kind
• 9:05
  of
• 9:06
  were
• 9:06
  turned
• 9:06
  off
• 9:06
  by
• 9:06
  the
• 9:07
  cringiness
• 9:08
  of
• 9:09
  the
• 9:09
  Michael
• 9:10
  Scott,
• 9:10
  Steve
• 9:10
  Carell's
• 9:11
  character,
• 9:12
  and
• 9:13
  the
• 9:13
  sort
• 9:13
  of
• 9:13
  general
• 9:13
  vibe
• 9:14
  of
• 9:14
  the
• 9:14
  show.
• 9:15
  That
• 9:15
  first
• 9:16
  season,
• 9:16
  for
• 9:16
  whatever
• 9:16
  reason,
• 9:17
  was
• 9:17
  only
• 9:17
  six
• 9:17
  episodes.
• 9:18
  It
• 9:18
  was
• 9:18
  kind
• 9:18
  of
• 9:18
  one
• 9:18
  of
• 9:18
  those
• 9:19
  mid
• 9:19
  season
• 9:20
  replacements.
• 9:21
  That
• 9:21
  was
• 9:21
  a
• 9:21
  test.
• 9:22
  Yeah.
• 9:23
  And
• 9:24
  it
• 9:24
  was.
• 9:24
  It
• 9:24
  was
• 9:24
  a
• 9:25
  remake
• 9:25
  of
• 9:26
  a
• 9:26
  British
• 9:26
  sitcom
• 9:27
  that
• 9:27
  had
• 9:27
  been
• 9:27
  successful
• 9:28
  in
• 9:29
  the
• 9:29
  UK
• 9:29
  and
• 9:30
  that,
• 9:30
  you
• 9:30
  know,
• 9:30
  I
• 9:31
  think
• 9:31
  it
• 9:31
  gotten
• 9:31
  a
• 9:31
  sort
• 9:32
  of
• 9:32
  a
• 9:32
  cult
• 9:32
  following
• 9:32
  in
• 9:33
  the
• 9:33
  US
• 9:33
  as
• 9:33
  it
• 9:33
  started
• 9:34
  to
• 9:34
  become
• 9:34
  possible
• 9:34
  to.
• 9:35
  To
• 9:36
  follow
• 9:36
  such
• 9:36
  things
• 9:36
  across
• 9:37
  the
• 9:37
  pond
• 9:37
  through
• 9:38
  DVDs
• 9:39
  and
• 9:39
  other
• 9:39
  things.
• 9:41
  Yeah.
• 9:41
  And
• 9:41
  also
• 9:42
  I'm
• 9:42
  glad
• 9:43
  you
• 9:43
  mentioned
• 9:43
  it
• 9:43
  because
• 9:44
  that,
• 9:45
  like,
• 9:45
  little
• 9:45
  test,
• 9:46
  first
• 9:46
  season,
• 9:47
  the
• 9:47
  first
• 9:47
  season,
• 9:47
  I
• 9:48
  wouldn't
• 9:48
  say
• 9:48
  is
• 9:48
  good.
• 9:49
  The
• 9:49
  characters
• 9:49
  are
• 9:50
  great.
• 9:51
  Diversity
• 9:52
  day.
• 9:53
  I
• 9:53
  mean,
• 9:53
  it's
• 9:54
  funny,
• 9:54
  but
• 9:54
  man,
• 9:55
  you
• 9:55
  could
• 9:55
  not
• 9:55
  put
• 9:55
  that
• 9:55
  on
• 9:56
  TV
• 9:56
  today.
• 9:58
  It's
• 9:59
  the
• 9:59
  only
• 9:59
  show
• 10:00
  that
• 10:00
  I
• 10:00
  can
• 10:00
  think
• 10:00
  of
• 10:00
  that
• 10:01
  had
• 10:01
  a
• 10:01
  fairly
• 10:02
  rough
• 10:02
  first
• 10:02
  season
• 10:03
  and
• 10:03
  then,
• 10:04
  in
• 10:04
  my
• 10:04
  opinion,
• 10:05
  immediately
• 10:05
  fixed
• 10:06
  all
• 10:06
  of
• 10:06
  those
• 10:06
  problems.
• 10:08
  Yeah,
• 10:08
  so
• 10:08
  that's
• 10:09
  what
• 10:09
  I
• 10:09
  was
• 10:09
  trying
• 10:09
  to
• 10:09
  get
• 10:09
  to
• 10:10
  is
• 10:10
  that,
• 10:10
  yeah,
• 10:10
  it
• 10:10
  had
• 10:10
  those
• 10:11
  six
• 10:11
  episodes
• 10:12
  that
• 10:12
  were
• 10:13
  kind
• 10:13
  of
• 10:13
  blueprinted
• 10:13
  by
• 10:13
  the
• 10:14
  British
• 10:15
  sitcom,
• 10:15
  including
• 10:16
  the
• 10:16
  pilot
• 10:16
  episode
• 10:17
  is
• 10:17
  pretty
• 10:17
  much
• 10:18
  a
• 10:18
  direct
• 10:19
  remake
• 10:19
  of
• 10:20
  the
• 10:20
  same
• 10:20
  script.
• 10:22
  And
• 10:22
  then
• 10:22
  it
• 10:22
  goes
• 10:23
  away
• 10:23
  for
• 10:23
  the
• 10:23
  summer,
• 10:23
  as
• 10:24
  TV
• 10:24
  shows
• 10:24
  did
• 10:25
  back
• 10:25
  in
• 10:25
  the
• 10:25
  day
• 10:26
  and
• 10:27
  came
• 10:27
  back,
• 10:28
  and
• 10:28
  yes,
• 10:28
  it
• 10:28
  had
• 10:29
  significantly
• 10:29
  retooled.
• 10:31
  And
• 10:31
  so
• 10:32
  word
• 10:32
  of
• 10:32
  mouth
• 10:32
  kind
• 10:33
  of
• 10:33
  said,
• 10:33
  hey,
• 10:33
  this
• 10:33
  show
• 10:34
  is
• 10:34
  actually
• 10:34
  pretty
• 10:34
  good.
• 10:34
  You
• 10:34
  should
• 10:34
  check
• 10:35
  it
• 10:35
  out.
• 10:35
  And
• 10:35
  so
• 10:35
  I
• 10:36
  think
• 10:36
  we
• 10:36
  did
• 10:36
  go
• 10:36
  back
• 10:37
  and
• 10:37
  rewatch
• 10:37
  those
• 10:37
  episodes
• 10:38
  because
• 10:38
  I
• 10:38
  think
• 10:39
  you
• 10:39
  could
• 10:39
  go
• 10:39
  to
• 10:39
  NBC.com
• 10:40
  or
• 10:40
  something
• 10:41
  like
• 10:41
  that.
• 10:41
  And
• 10:42
  they
• 10:42
  were
• 10:42
  still
• 10:42
  trying
• 10:42
  to
• 10:43
  figure
• 10:43
  out
• 10:43
  what
• 10:43
  to
• 10:43
  do
• 10:43
  with
• 10:43
  the
• 10:43
  web
• 10:44
  and.
• 10:44
  And
• 10:44
  TV
• 10:44
  shows.
• 10:45
  So
• 10:45
  there
• 10:45
  were.
• 10:45
  This
• 10:45
  was
• 10:46
  the
• 10:46
  era
• 10:46
  of,
• 10:46
  like,
• 10:46
  they'd
• 10:46
  make
• 10:47
  little
• 10:47
  shorts
• 10:48
  for
• 10:48
  the
• 10:48
  web
• 10:48
  and,
• 10:50
  you
• 10:50
  know,
• 10:50
  a
• 10:50
  fake
• 10:51
  Dunder
• 10:51
  Mifflin
• 10:52
  website
• 10:52
  and
• 10:52
  all
• 10:52
  those
• 10:52
  kinds
• 10:53
  of
• 10:53
  things.
• 10:53
  So
• 10:53
  we
• 10:53
  checked
• 10:54
  out
• 10:54
  those
• 10:54
  episodes
• 10:54
  and
• 10:54
  then
• 10:54
  started
• 10:55
  watching,
• 10:55
  you
• 10:55
  know,
• 10:55
  the
• 10:55
  second
• 10:56
  season,
• 10:56
  and
• 10:57
  then
• 10:57
  we
• 10:57
  were
• 10:57
  hooked.
• 10:57
  And
• 10:57
  so
• 10:58
  we
• 10:58
  were
• 10:58
  watching,
• 10:58
  you
• 10:59
  know,
• 10:59
  as
• 10:59
  the
• 10:59
  episodes
• 11:00
  aired
• 11:00
  pretty
• 11:01
  much
• 11:01
  from
• 11:01
  that
• 11:02
  point
• 11:02
  on,
• 11:03
  and
• 11:03
  then,
• 11:03
  you
• 11:03
  know,
• 11:04
  the
• 11:04
  odd
• 11:05
  rerun
• 11:05
  and
• 11:06
  different
• 11:06
  things
• 11:06
  now
• 11:07
  and
• 11:07
  again.
• 11:07
  And
• 11:07
  then
• 11:07
  during
• 11:07
  the
• 11:08
  pandemic,
• 11:09
  we
• 11:09
  were
• 11:09
  looking
• 11:10
  for
• 11:10
  some
• 11:11
  comfort
• 11:11
  watches,
• 11:11
  and
• 11:12
  so
• 11:12
  we
• 11:12
  went
• 11:12
  back
• 11:12
  and
• 11:12
  watched
• 11:13
  through
• 11:13
  the
• 11:13
  entire
• 11:14
  show,
• 11:15
  start
• 11:15
  to
• 11:15
  finish.
• 11:15
  So,
• 11:16
  you
• 11:16
  know,
• 11:16
  I'd
• 11:16
  say
• 11:16
  we've
• 11:16
  probably
• 11:17
  seen
• 11:17
  the
• 11:17
  whole
• 11:17
  thing
• 11:17
  twice
• 11:18
  through
• 11:18
  and
• 11:18
  then,
• 11:18
  you
• 11:19
  know,
• 11:19
  some
• 11:19
  episodes
• 11:20
  more
• 11:21
  than
• 11:21
  that
• 11:21
  over
• 11:22
  the
• 11:22
  years.
• 11:22
  Yeah,
• 11:23
  and
• 11:23
  some
• 11:23
  episodes
• 11:24
  less.
• 11:26
  I
• 11:26
  don't
• 11:26
  know
• 11:26
  about
• 11:26
  you,
• 11:27
  but
• 11:27
  I
• 11:27
  always
• 11:27
  skip
• 11:28
  at
• 11:28
  least
• 11:28
  one
• 11:28
  episode
• 11:29
  on
• 11:29
  a
• 11:29
  rewatch.
• 11:31
  Fair
• 11:32
  enough.
• 11:32
  And
• 11:32
  if
• 11:32
  you.
• 11:33
  If
• 11:33
  you
• 11:33
  know
• 11:33
  the
• 11:33
  show,
• 11:33
  then
• 11:34
  you
• 11:34
  probably
• 11:34
  know
• 11:34
  which
• 11:35
  one
• 11:35
  I'm
• 11:35
  talking
• 11:35
  about.
• 11:36
  And
• 11:36
  if
• 11:36
  you
• 11:36
  don't,
• 11:37
  I'm
• 11:37
  going
• 11:37
  to
• 11:37
  make
• 11:37
  you
• 11:37
  watch
• 11:38
  it
• 11:38
  and
• 11:38
  you'll
• 11:39
  know
• 11:39
  when
• 11:39
  you
• 11:39
  find
• 11:40
  it.
• 11:40
  There
• 11:41
  you
• 11:41
  go.
• 11:42
  Yeah,
• 11:43
  so.
• 11:43
  And
• 11:44
  a
• 11:44
  big.
• 11:44
  A
• 11:44
  big
• 11:44
  part
• 11:45
  of
• 11:45
  that
• 11:45
  change
• 11:46
  between
• 11:46
  the
• 11:47
  first
• 11:47
  and
• 11:47
  second
• 11:47
  seasons
• 11:48
  is
• 11:48
  the
• 11:49
  Michael
• 11:49
  Scott
• 11:49
  character.
• 11:52
  Perhaps
• 11:53
  least
• 11:53
  importantly,
• 11:53
  but
• 11:54
  very
• 11:54
  noticeably,
• 11:55
  Steve
• 11:55
  Carell,
• 11:56
  his
• 11:56
  look
• 11:57
  changes
• 11:57
  significantly.
• 11:58
  Steve
• 11:58
  Carell,
• 11:59
  in
• 11:59
  the
• 11:59
  interim,
• 12:01
  became
• 12:01
  a
• 12:01
  movie
• 12:02
  star
• 12:02
  and
• 12:03
  got
• 12:03
  it.
• 12:03
  Got
• 12:04
  a
• 12:04
  glow
• 12:04
  up,
• 12:04
  let's
• 12:04
  say.
• 12:05
  Yeah,
• 12:06
  that's
• 12:06
  the
• 12:06
  funniest
• 12:07
  part.
• 12:08
  Season
• 12:08
  two
• 12:08
  starts
• 12:09
  and
• 12:09
  he
• 12:09
  has
• 12:09
  a
• 12:09
  full
• 12:09
  head
• 12:09
  of
• 12:09
  hair
• 12:10
  all
• 12:10
  of
• 12:10
  a
• 12:10
  sudden.
• 12:11
  Yeah,
• 12:12
  that
• 12:12
  is
• 12:12
  always
• 12:12
  so
• 12:13
  funny
• 12:13
  to
• 12:13
  me.
• 12:13
  Yeah.
• 12:14
  And,
• 12:15
  you
• 12:15
  know,
• 12:15
  at
• 12:16
  the
• 12:16
  risk
• 12:16
  of.
• 12:17
  At
• 12:17
  the
• 12:17
  risk
• 12:17
  of
• 12:17
  seeming
• 12:18
  shallow,
• 12:18
  you
• 12:18
  know,
• 12:18
  I
• 12:19
  think
• 12:19
  it
• 12:19
  does
• 12:19
  perhaps
• 12:19
  even
• 12:20
  change
• 12:20
  the
• 12:20
  perception
• 12:21
  of
• 12:21
  the
• 12:21
  character
• 12:21
  a
• 12:21
  little
• 12:22
  bit,
• 12:22
  or
• 12:22
  it
• 12:22
  certainly,
• 12:23
  I
• 12:23
  think,
• 12:23
  helps
• 12:23
  with
• 12:24
  the
• 12:24
  softening
• 12:25
  of
• 12:25
  the
• 12:25
  character
• 12:25
  and
• 12:25
  trying
• 12:26
  to
• 12:26
  make
• 12:26
  him
• 12:26
  a
• 12:26
  little
• 12:26
  bit
• 12:27
  more
• 12:27
  relatable,
• 12:30
  because
• 12:30
  I
• 12:31
  think
• 12:32
  that
• 12:32
  was
• 12:32
  one
• 12:32
  of
• 12:33
  the
• 12:33
  big
• 12:34
  realizations
• 12:35
  is
• 12:35
  that
• 12:35
  you
• 12:35
  just
• 12:35
  couldn't
• 12:36
  make
• 12:36
  a
• 12:36
  character
• 12:36
  that
• 12:37
  unrelentingly
• 12:39
  unrelatable
• 12:40
  or
• 12:40
  unlikable
• 12:41
  on
• 12:42
  an
• 12:42
  American
• 12:42
  sitcom,
• 12:43
  you
• 12:43
  needed
• 12:43
  everybody
• 12:44
  to
• 12:44
  have
• 12:44
  just
• 12:45
  a
• 12:45
  little
• 12:45
  bit
• 12:45
  of
• 12:46
  something
• 12:46
  that
• 12:47
  you
• 12:47
  could
• 12:47
  connect
• 12:48
  to.
• 12:49
  And
• 12:49
  so
• 12:50
  season
• 12:50
  two
• 12:50
  starts
• 12:51
  the
• 12:51
  humanizing
• 12:52
  of
• 12:52
  Michael
• 12:53
  Scott.
• 12:54
  But
• 12:54
  let's
• 12:54
  talk
• 12:54
  a
• 12:55
  little
• 12:55
  bit
• 12:55
  about
• 12:56
  Michael
• 12:57
  Scott
• 12:57
  as
• 12:57
  he
• 12:57
  starts.
• 13:00
  How
• 13:00
  do
• 13:00
  we
• 13:00
  think
• 13:00
  Michael
• 13:01
  Scott
• 13:01
  came
• 13:01
  to
• 13:01
  be
• 13:02
  the
• 13:02
  character
• 13:03
  who
• 13:03
  we
• 13:03
  meet
• 13:05
  in
• 13:05
  that
• 13:05
  first
• 13:05
  season?
• 13:07
  Who
• 13:07
  are
• 13:07
  some
• 13:07
  of
• 13:07
  the
• 13:07
  folks
• 13:07
  that
• 13:07
  we
• 13:08
  learn
• 13:08
  are
• 13:08
  part
• 13:08
  of
• 13:08
  his
• 13:08
  backstory?
• 13:09
  Well,
• 13:10
  as
• 13:10
  far
• 13:10
  as
• 13:11
  in
• 13:11
  the
• 13:12
  show,
• 13:12
  what
• 13:13
  we
• 13:13
  know
• 13:13
  is
• 13:15
  Ed
• 13:15
  Truck.
• 13:17
  We
• 13:17
  know
• 13:18
  Ed
• 13:18
  Truck
• 13:18
  is
• 13:19
  very
• 13:19
  formative
• 13:19
  for
• 13:20
  young
• 13:20
  Michael
• 13:20
  Scott
• 13:21
  working
• 13:21
  at
• 13:22
  Dunder
• 13:22
  Mifflin.
• 13:23
  Outside
• 13:24
  of
• 13:24
  the
• 13:24
  show.
• 13:26
  It's
• 13:26
  based
• 13:26
  almost
• 13:26
  entirely
• 13:27
  on
• 13:27
  Ricky
• 13:28
  Gervais,
• 13:29
  you
• 13:29
  know,
• 13:30
  just
• 13:30
  kind
• 13:30
  of
• 13:30
  entire
• 13:31
  personality,
• 13:32
  which
• 13:33
  is
• 13:33
  a
• 13:33
  little
• 13:33
  coarse
• 13:34
  for
• 13:34
  American
• 13:34
  audiences,
• 13:35
  especially
• 13:35
  at
• 13:35
  the
• 13:36
  time.
• 13:37
  So
• 13:38
  that
• 13:38
  is
• 13:39
  one
• 13:39
  of
• 13:39
  the
• 13:39
  reasons
• 13:41
  that
• 13:42
  it
• 13:42
  doesn't
• 13:42
  go
• 13:43
  over
• 13:43
  so
• 13:43
  well.
• 13:44
  I
• 13:44
  think
• 13:44
  Ricky
• 13:45
  Gervais
• 13:45
  is
• 13:46
  really
• 13:46
  funny
• 13:46
  most
• 13:47
  of
• 13:47
  the
• 13:47
  time.
• 13:48
  He
• 13:49
  definitely
• 13:49
  has
• 13:49
  his
• 13:51
  less
• 13:51
  redeemable
• 13:51
  moments.
• 13:55
  Throughout
• 13:55
  the
• 13:56
  show
• 13:56
  we
• 13:57
  learn
• 13:57
  about
• 13:57
  a
• 13:58
  couple
• 13:58
  of
• 13:58
  other
• 13:59
  major
• 14:00
  influences
• 14:00
  on,
• 14:01
  on
• 14:01
  young
• 14:01
  Michael
• 14:02
  Scott,
• 14:04
  but
• 14:04
  I
• 14:04
  think
• 14:04
  Ed
• 14:04
  Truck
• 14:05
  is
• 14:05
  the
• 14:05
  earliest.
• 14:06
  And
• 14:07
  then
• 14:07
  I
• 14:07
  want
• 14:07
  to
• 14:07
  say
• 14:07
  it's
• 14:08
  in
• 14:09
  season
• 14:09
  one
• 14:10
  is,
• 14:10
  I
• 14:10
  think
• 14:11
  the
• 14:11
  first
• 14:11
  last
• 14:11
  time
• 14:11
  he
• 14:12
  mentions
• 14:12
  Chris
• 14:12
  Rock
• 14:14
  when
• 14:14
  he
• 14:15
  copies
• 14:16
  a
• 14:16
  Chris
• 14:16
  Rock
• 14:17
  bit.
• 14:17
  Word
• 14:17
  for
• 14:17
  word.
• 14:18
  Indeed.
• 14:20
  Word
• 14:20
  for
• 14:20
  word.
• 14:21
  And
• 14:21
  I
• 14:21
  mean
• 14:22
  that
• 14:22
  inadvisably.
• 14:24
  Inadvisably
• 14:25
  word
• 14:25
  for
• 14:25
  word.
• 14:28
  And
• 14:28
  pretty
• 14:28
  much
• 14:29
  everyone
• 14:29
  in
• 14:29
  his
• 14:29
  office
• 14:30
  and
• 14:30
  Wayne
• 14:30
  Gretzky
• 14:31
  and
• 14:31
  Todd
• 14:31
  Packer.
• 14:32
  So
• 14:33
  all
• 14:33
  of
• 14:33
  those
• 14:34
  are
• 14:35
  up
• 14:35
  there
• 14:35
  actually
• 14:36
  pretty
• 14:36
  early,
• 14:37
  but
• 14:37
  most
• 14:37
  of
• 14:37
  those
• 14:38
  come
• 14:38
  throughout
• 14:38
  the
• 14:39
  show.
• 15:31
  Yeah.
• 15:31
  So
• 15:33
  let's
• 15:33
  unpack
• 15:33
  a
• 15:34
  little
• 15:34
  bit
• 15:34
  why
• 15:34
  you
• 15:34
  bring
• 15:34
  this
• 15:34
  up.
• 15:34
  So
• 15:35
  Ricky
• 15:35
  Gervais
• 15:36
  played
• 15:37
  the
• 15:38
  equivalent
• 15:38
  character
• 15:39
  in
• 15:39
  the
• 15:39
  British
• 15:40
  version
• 15:40
  of
• 15:40
  the
• 15:40
  Office
• 15:41
  and
• 15:41
  was
• 15:43
  one
• 15:43
  of
• 15:43
  the
• 15:43
  co
• 15:43
  creators
• 15:44
  of
• 15:44
  the
• 15:44
  show.
• 15:45
  Right,
• 15:45
  one
• 15:45
  of
• 15:45
  the
• 15:45
  writers
• 15:46
  and.
• 15:46
  Yeah,
• 15:47
  so
• 15:47
  that's
• 15:48
  where
• 15:48
  his
• 15:49
  influence
• 15:50
  comes
• 15:50
  from.
• 15:51
  Like
• 15:51
  I
• 15:51
  said,
• 15:52
  his
• 15:52
  script
• 15:53
  for
• 15:53
  that
• 15:53
  pilot
• 15:54
  episode
• 15:55
  is
• 15:56
  used
• 15:56
  for
• 15:56
  that
• 15:56
  first
• 15:56
  episode
• 15:57
  of
• 15:58
  the
• 15:58
  American
• 15:59
  Office.
• 16:00
  Ed
• 16:00
  Truck
• 16:01
  is
• 16:02
  the
• 16:02
  previous
• 16:02
  manager
• 16:03
  at
• 16:03
  Dunder,
• 16:04
  at
• 16:04
  that
• 16:04
  branch
• 16:05
  of
• 16:05
  Dunder
• 16:05
  Mifflin,
• 16:05
  the
• 16:06
  Scranton,
• 16:06
  Pennsylvania
• 16:07
  branch
• 16:08
  of
• 16:08
  the
• 16:09
  Dunder
• 16:10
  Mifflin
• 16:10
  office.
• 16:10
  So
• 16:11
  he
• 16:11
  was,
• 16:12
  you
• 16:12
  know,
• 16:12
  he
• 16:12
  had
• 16:13
  Michael
• 16:13
  Scott's
• 16:13
  job
• 16:13
  previously
• 16:14
  and
• 16:14
  kind
• 16:14
  of
• 16:15
  mentored
• 16:15
  Michael.
• 16:16
  But
• 16:16
  also,
• 16:17
  you
• 16:17
  know,
• 16:17
  I
• 16:17
  think
• 16:17
  we
• 16:17
  learned
• 16:18
  that
• 16:18
  a
• 16:18
  significant
• 16:19
  part
• 16:19
  of
• 16:19
  why
• 16:20
  Michael
• 16:20
  is
• 16:20
  the
• 16:20
  way
• 16:20
  that
• 16:20
  it
• 16:21
  is
• 16:22
  as
• 16:22
  a
• 16:22
  reaction
• 16:22
  against
• 16:24
  the
• 16:25
  way
• 16:25
  that
• 16:25
  Ed
• 16:25
  Truck
• 16:25
  managed
• 16:26
  the
• 16:26
  Office.
• 16:27
  Yeah,
• 16:29
  you
• 16:29
  know,
• 16:29
  he
• 16:30
  was,
• 16:30
  he
• 16:30
  was
• 16:30
  more
• 16:31
  of
• 16:31
  a
• 16:31
  straight
• 16:31
  laced
• 16:34
  manager,
• 16:34
  you
• 16:34
  know,
• 16:35
  the
• 16:35
  typical
• 16:35
  kind
• 16:35
  of
• 16:36
  I'm,
• 16:36
  I'm
• 16:37
  the
• 16:37
  boss
• 16:37
  and
• 16:37
  we're
• 16:38
  going
• 16:38
  to
• 16:38
  keep
• 16:38
  things
• 16:38
  professional
• 16:39
  and
• 16:39
  so
• 16:39
  forth.
• 16:39
  And
• 16:40
  Michael
• 16:41
  didn't,
• 16:42
  didn't
• 16:42
  care
• 16:42
  for
• 16:42
  that
• 16:43
  way
• 16:43
  of
• 16:43
  working
• 16:44
  and
• 16:45
  wanted
• 16:45
  to.
• 16:46
  Wanted
• 16:46
  to
• 16:46
  create
• 16:46
  an
• 16:47
  office
• 16:47
  where
• 16:47
  he
• 16:48
  was
• 16:48
  everybody's
• 16:48
  friend
• 16:50
  and,
• 16:51
  you
• 16:51
  know,
• 16:52
  and
• 16:52
  family
• 16:53
  to
• 16:53
  some
• 16:54
  degree,
• 16:54
  as
• 16:54
  we
• 16:54
  see
• 16:55
  forward.
• 16:56
  And
• 16:56
  he
• 16:56
  tries
• 16:59
  hard.
• 16:59
  Yeah,
• 17:00
  elaborate
• 17:01
  on
• 17:01
  that.
• 17:02
  What
• 17:02
  does
• 17:02
  he
• 17:02
  try?
• 17:03
  What
• 17:04
  doesn't
• 17:04
  he
• 17:04
  try?
• 17:05
  Well,
• 17:05
  that
• 17:05
  true.
• 17:06
  What
• 17:07
  doesn't
• 17:07
  he
• 17:07
  try?
• 17:08
  But
• 17:08
  the
• 17:08
  first
• 17:08
  several
• 17:09
  seasons
• 17:09
  of
• 17:09
  the
• 17:09
  show
• 17:10
  are
• 17:10
  absolutely
• 17:11
  filled
• 17:11
  with
• 17:11
  Michael
• 17:12
  coming
• 17:12
  up
• 17:12
  with
• 17:13
  some
• 17:13
  new
• 17:14
  way
• 17:14
  to
• 17:14
  either
• 17:15
  ingratiate
• 17:16
  the
• 17:16
  office
• 17:16
  to
• 17:16
  him
• 17:17
  or
• 17:18
  befriend
• 17:18
  them
• 17:19
  in
• 17:19
  some
• 17:19
  way.
• 17:22
  It's
• 17:23
  a
• 17:23
  lot.
• 17:23
  It
• 17:23
  can
• 17:23
  be
• 17:24
  a
• 17:24
  lot.
• 17:25
  Yeah,
• 17:25
  try
• 17:25
  hard
• 17:26
  is
• 17:27
  definitely
• 17:27
  a
• 17:27
  word
• 17:28
  that
• 17:28
  comes
• 17:28
  to
• 17:28
  mind.
• 17:31
  But,
• 17:32
  yeah,
• 17:32
  there's
• 17:33
  no
• 17:33
  joke
• 17:33
  that
• 17:34
  he
• 17:34
  won't
• 17:34
  tell,
• 17:35
  no
• 17:36
  stunt
• 17:37
  that
• 17:37
  he
• 17:37
  won't
• 17:38
  attempt.
• 17:40
  Sometimes
• 17:41
  it
• 17:42
  borders
• 17:42
  on
• 17:42
  bribery
• 17:43
  with
• 17:44
  raises
• 17:45
  or
• 17:45
  prizes,
• 17:46
  or
• 17:47
  that,
• 17:47
  you
• 17:47
  know,
• 17:48
  he's
• 17:48
  not
• 17:48
  above
• 17:48
  buying
• 17:49
  people's
• 17:49
  affection.
• 17:51
  He's
• 17:52
  definitely,
• 17:52
  you
• 17:52
  know,
• 17:53
  the
• 17:53
  poster
• 17:53
  boy
• 17:54
  for
• 17:54
  the
• 17:55
  mindset
• 17:55
  that
• 17:55
  any
• 17:56
  attention
• 17:56
  is
• 17:56
  good
• 17:56
  attention.
• 17:58
  Yep.
• 17:58
  He'll
• 17:59
  even
• 17:59
  overlook,
• 18:00
  like,
• 18:00
  severe
• 18:01
  neglect.
• 18:02
  You
• 18:02
  know,
• 18:02
  malpractice
• 18:03
  isn't
• 18:03
  exactly
• 18:03
  a
• 18:04
  word
• 18:04
  you
• 18:04
  can
• 18:04
  use
• 18:04
  in
• 18:05
  a
• 18:05
  paper
• 18:05
  company,
• 18:05
  but
• 18:06
  whatever
• 18:07
  Kevin
• 18:07
  was
• 18:07
  doing,
• 18:08
  that's
• 18:09
  malpractice.
• 18:12
  It
• 18:12
  may
• 18:12
  apply
• 18:12
  in
• 18:13
  the
• 18:13
  case
• 18:13
  of
• 18:13
  accountancy.
• 18:15
  Yeah.
• 18:15
  It's
• 18:16
  fraud,
• 18:16
  for
• 18:16
  sure.
• 18:17
  Sure.
• 18:18
  And
• 18:18
  the
• 18:18
  show
• 18:18
  addresses
• 18:19
  that,
• 18:19
  which
• 18:19
  is
• 18:19
  pretty
• 18:20
  funny.
• 18:22
  Yeah.
• 18:22
  And
• 18:22
  so.
• 18:24
  And,
• 18:24
  you
• 18:24
  know,
• 18:24
  and
• 18:24
  as
• 18:25
  the
• 18:25
  show
• 18:25
  goes
• 18:25
  on,
• 18:25
  we
• 18:26
  kind
• 18:26
  of
• 18:26
  see
• 18:27
  that.
• 18:28
  We
• 18:28
  see
• 18:28
  some
• 18:28
  glimpses
• 18:29
  into
• 18:29
  his
• 18:29
  childhood
• 18:29
  that
• 18:30
  suggest
• 18:31
  that,
• 18:32
  you
• 18:32
  know,
• 18:32
  he
• 18:32
  was
• 18:33
  pretty.
• 18:33
  Pretty
• 18:33
  lonely
• 18:34
  as
• 18:34
  a
• 18:34
  child.
• 18:34
  I'm
• 18:35
  not
• 18:35
  sure
• 18:35
  that
• 18:35
  we
• 18:35
  learned
• 18:35
  much
• 18:36
  about
• 18:36
  his
• 18:36
  parents.
• 18:37
  Maybe
• 18:37
  I'm
• 18:37
  forgetting,
• 18:38
  but
• 18:38
  I
• 18:38
  don't
• 18:38
  think
• 18:38
  we
• 18:38
  really
• 18:39
  much
• 18:39
  learn
• 18:39
  much
• 18:40
  about
• 18:40
  his
• 18:40
  home
• 18:40
  life
• 18:40
  other
• 18:41
  than
• 18:42
  we
• 18:42
  see
• 18:42
  that
• 18:43
  we
• 18:44
  see
• 18:44
  he
• 18:44
  makes
• 18:44
  an
• 18:44
  appearance
• 18:45
  as
• 18:45
  a
• 18:45
  child
• 18:45
  on
• 18:46
  a.
• 18:46
  On
• 18:46
  a
• 18:47
  local,
• 18:48
  like,
• 18:48
  public
• 18:49
  television
• 18:50
  children's
• 18:51
  program.
• 18:54
  To
• 18:54
  me,
• 18:54
  the
• 18:54
  obvious
• 18:55
  connection
• 18:55
  was
• 18:56
  Romper
• 18:57
  Room
• 18:57
  starring
• 18:57
  Miss
• 18:58
  Molly
• 18:58
  was
• 18:59
  a
• 18:59
  New
• 18:59
  Jersey,
• 19:00
  New
• 19:00
  York
• 19:00
  area
• 19:01
  children's
• 19:02
  program.
• 19:02
  But
• 19:02
  I
• 19:03
  imagine
• 19:03
  there
• 19:03
  were
• 19:04
  comparable
• 19:04
  programs
• 19:05
  in
• 19:05
  many
• 19:05
  TV
• 19:06
  markets
• 19:06
  around
• 19:06
  the
• 19:07
  country
• 19:07
  in
• 19:08
  the
• 19:09
  70s.
• 19:10
  I
• 19:10
  guess
• 19:10
  would
• 19:10
  it
• 19:10
  would
• 19:10
  have
• 19:10
  been,
• 19:11
  you
• 19:12
  know,
• 19:12
  the
• 19:12
  time
• 19:12
  frame
• 19:12
  when
• 19:12
  he
• 19:13
  would
• 19:13
  have
• 19:13
  been
• 19:13
  that
• 19:14
  age.
• 19:14
  Maybe
• 19:14
  early
• 19:14
  80s.
• 19:15
  Yeah,
• 19:15
  early
• 19:16
  80s
• 19:16
  is
• 19:16
  when
• 19:16
  I
• 19:16
  was
• 19:16
  watching
• 19:17
  Romper
• 19:18
  Room.
• 19:19
  Yeah.
• 19:19
  So
• 19:19
  the
• 19:20
  show
• 19:20
  where
• 19:21
  different
• 19:21
  kids
• 19:21
  appear
• 19:22
  every
• 19:22
  week
• 19:22
  as.
• 19:22
  As
• 19:23
  guests,
• 19:23
  as
• 19:24
  part
• 19:24
  of
• 19:24
  the
• 19:24
  audience
• 19:24
  and
• 19:24
  get
• 19:25
  to
• 19:25
  interact
• 19:25
  with
• 19:26
  a
• 19:26
  host
• 19:26
  who
• 19:26
  is,
• 19:27
  you
• 19:27
  know,
• 19:27
  a
• 19:28
  young
• 19:28
  woman
• 19:28
  who,
• 19:29
  you
• 19:29
  know,
• 19:29
  has
• 19:30
  a.
• 19:30
  As
• 19:30
  a
• 19:30
  motherly
• 19:30
  or
• 19:31
  nurturing
• 19:31
  kind
• 19:32
  of
• 19:32
  vibe
• 19:33
  for,
• 19:34
  you
• 19:34
  know,
• 19:34
  some
• 19:34
  puppet
• 19:35
  shows
• 19:35
  and,
• 19:35
  you
• 19:35
  know,
• 19:35
  kind
• 19:35
  of
• 19:35
  a
• 19:36
  Mr.
• 19:36
  Rogers
• 19:36
  thing
• 19:36
  might
• 19:37
  be
• 19:37
  the,
• 19:37
  you
• 19:37
  know,
• 19:38
  but
• 19:38
  with
• 19:38
  a.
• 19:38
  With
• 19:39
  a
• 19:39
  live
• 19:39
  audience
• 19:40
  kind
• 19:41
  of
• 19:41
  vibe.
• 19:41
  And
• 19:42
  he
• 19:42
  makes
• 19:42
  an
• 19:42
  appearance
• 19:43
  on
• 19:43
  the
• 19:43
  show
• 19:43
  and,
• 19:43
  you
• 19:44
  know,
• 19:44
  just
• 19:44
  talks
• 19:44
  about
• 19:44
  how
• 19:45
  he
• 19:45
  wants
• 19:45
  everybody
• 19:45
  to
• 19:46
  Be
• 19:46
  his
• 19:46
  friend
• 19:46
  and
• 19:46
  he
• 19:46
  hopes,
• 19:47
  you
• 19:47
  know,
• 19:47
  he
• 19:47
  imagines
• 19:48
  having
• 19:48
  many,
• 19:49
  many
• 19:49
  friends
• 19:49
  growing
• 19:49
  up,
• 19:50
  but
• 19:51
  you
• 19:51
  know,
• 19:51
  seemingly
• 19:52
  stemming
• 19:52
  from
• 19:53
  a
• 19:53
  significant
• 19:54
  loneliness
• 19:54
  in
• 19:54
  his
• 19:55
  life
• 19:55
  at
• 19:55
  that
• 19:55
  time.
• 19:56
  And
• 19:56
  yeah,
• 19:57
  so
• 19:57
  I
• 19:58
  think
• 19:58
  that's
• 19:58
  part
• 19:58
  of
• 19:58
  the
• 19:59
  explanation
• 19:59
  that
• 19:59
  we're
• 20:00
  meant
• 20:00
  to
• 20:00
  understand
• 20:01
  is
• 20:01
  that
• 20:01
  he's
• 20:01
  just
• 20:01
  desperate
• 20:02
  for
• 20:03
  friendship
• 20:04
  but
• 20:04
  doesn't
• 20:04
  know
• 20:04
  how,
• 20:05
  maybe
• 20:05
  doesn't
• 20:05
  know
• 20:05
  how
• 20:05
  to
• 20:05
  make
• 20:06
  connections.
• 20:06
  And
• 20:06
  so
• 20:06
  we
• 20:06
  just
• 20:07
  will
• 20:07
  try
• 20:07
  anything
• 20:08
  and
• 20:08
  everything.
• 20:09
  His
• 20:09
  character
• 20:09
  really
• 20:10
  is
• 20:10
  tragic.
• 20:11
  Like
• 20:11
  when
• 20:11
  you
• 20:12
  just
• 20:12
  think
• 20:12
  about
• 20:13
  who
• 20:13
  he
• 20:13
  is
• 20:13
  and
• 20:13
  who
• 20:13
  he
• 20:14
  wants
• 20:14
  to
• 20:14
  be,
• 20:14
  he
• 20:15
  really
• 20:15
  is
• 20:15
  a
• 20:16
  tragic
• 20:16
  character.
• 20:17
  You
• 20:17
  just
• 20:17
  kind
• 20:18
  of
• 20:18
  feel
• 20:18
  bad
• 20:18
  for
• 20:18
  him.
• 20:19
  You
• 20:19
  just
• 20:20
  ends
• 20:20
  up
• 20:21
  borderline
• 20:21
  manipulating
• 20:22
  the,
• 20:22
  the
• 20:22
  all
• 20:23
  of
• 20:23
  his
• 20:23
  subordinates
• 20:25
  into.
• 20:25
  Into
• 20:25
  being
• 20:26
  his
• 20:26
  friend.
• 20:27
  Yeah,
• 20:28
  yeah.
• 20:29
  And
• 20:29
  that's,
• 20:29
  you
• 20:30
  know,
• 20:30
  that's
• 20:31
  the.
• 20:32
  I
• 20:32
  think
• 20:32
  one
• 20:32
  of
• 20:32
  the
• 20:32
  most
• 20:32
  awkward
• 20:33
  things
• 20:33
  about
• 20:33
  the
• 20:34
  show
• 20:34
  early
• 20:35
  on
• 20:35
  and
• 20:35
  why
• 20:35
  it
• 20:35
  was
• 20:36
  I
• 20:36
  think
• 20:36
  difficult
• 20:37
  to
• 20:37
  get
• 20:37
  into
• 20:40
  getting
• 20:40
  out
• 20:40
  of
• 20:40
  the
• 20:40
  gate.
• 20:41
  There
• 20:41
  was
• 20:41
  just,
• 20:41
  yeah,
• 20:42
  that
• 20:42
  sense
• 20:42
  of
• 20:42
  this.
• 20:43
  This
• 20:43
  is
• 20:43
  completely
• 20:44
  inappropriate.
• 20:45
  It's
• 20:46
  an
• 20:46
  abuse
• 20:46
  of
• 20:46
  power
• 20:47
  and
• 20:49
  for,
• 20:49
  for
• 20:49
  the,
• 20:50
  the
• 20:50
  thinnest
• 20:51
  of
• 20:51
  benefits.
• 20:52
  Right.
• 20:52
  It
• 20:53
  would
• 20:53
  seem
• 20:54
  that,
• 20:55
  you
• 20:55
  know,
• 20:55
  he's
• 20:55
  getting
• 20:55
  the
• 20:56
  most
• 20:56
  meager
• 20:56
  amount
• 20:56
  of
• 20:56
  friendship
• 20:57
  out
• 20:57
  of
• 20:57
  this
• 20:57
  desperate,
• 20:59
  desperate
• 21:00
  behavior.
• 21:03
  You
• 21:03
  know,
• 21:03
  and
• 21:03
  the
• 21:04
  part
• 21:04
  that,
• 21:05
  that
• 21:05
  I
• 21:06
  find
• 21:06
  that
• 21:06
  the
• 21:06
  most
• 21:06
  difficult
• 21:08
  to.
• 21:09
  To
• 21:09
  kind
• 21:09
  of
• 21:10
  reconcile
• 21:10
  with
• 21:11
  that,
• 21:11
  you
• 21:11
  know,
• 21:11
  this
• 21:11
  kid
• 21:12
  who
• 21:12
  just.
• 21:12
  Who
• 21:12
  wants
• 21:13
  to
• 21:13
  be
• 21:13
  everybody's
• 21:13
  friend
• 21:14
  and
• 21:14
  seems
• 21:14
  very
• 21:14
  sweet
• 21:15
  or
• 21:16
  the
• 21:16
  guy
• 21:16
  who
• 21:17
  visits
• 21:17
  a
• 21:17
  classroom
• 21:18
  of
• 21:18
  students
• 21:18
  and
• 21:18
  tells
• 21:19
  them
• 21:19
  that
• 21:20
  he
• 21:20
  expects
• 21:20
  to
• 21:21
  be
• 21:21
  able
• 21:21
  to
• 21:21
  pay
• 21:21
  their
• 21:21
  college
• 21:22
  tuition
• 21:22
  when
• 21:23
  they
• 21:23
  graduate
• 21:23
  high
• 21:23
  school.
• 21:24
  He
• 21:25
  seems
• 21:25
  like
• 21:25
  a
• 21:25
  very.
• 21:26
  In
• 21:26
  those
• 21:26
  moments,
• 21:27
  he
• 21:27
  seems
• 21:27
  somewhat
• 21:27
  empathetic
• 21:28
  and
• 21:30
  a
• 21:30
  bit
• 21:31
  too
• 21:31
  naive
• 21:31
  and
• 21:32
  innocent
• 21:32
  to
• 21:32
  be
• 21:32
  the
• 21:33
  sort
• 21:33
  of
• 21:34
  again,
• 21:34
  misogynistic
• 21:35
  racist.
• 21:37
  No
• 21:38
  joke.
• 21:39
  There's
• 21:39
  no
• 21:39
  line
• 21:40
  for.
• 21:40
  To
• 21:41
  cross
• 21:41
  for
• 21:41
  his
• 21:41
  jokes
• 21:42
  all
• 21:42
  you
• 21:42
  know,
• 21:43
  he
• 21:43
  will
• 21:43
  find
• 21:44
  every
• 21:44
  line
• 21:45
  and
• 21:45
  transgress
• 21:45
  it.
• 21:46
  And
• 21:47
  it's
• 21:47
  hard
• 21:47
  to
• 21:47
  reconcile
• 21:48
  those
• 21:48
  two
• 21:48
  things.
• 21:49
  What
• 21:50
  are
• 21:50
  your
• 21:50
  thoughts
• 21:50
  about
• 21:50
  how
• 21:51
  besides
• 21:51
  just
• 21:53
  they
• 21:54
  had
• 21:54
  to
• 21:54
  reconcile
• 21:55
  the
• 21:56
  different
• 21:56
  inconsistencies
• 21:57
  in
• 21:57
  the
• 21:57
  writing
• 21:58
  but
• 21:59
  in
• 21:59
  the
• 21:59
  universe
• 22:00
  of
• 22:00
  the
• 22:00
  show,
• 22:01
  how
• 22:01
  do
• 22:01
  you
• 22:02
  understand
• 22:04
  those.
• 22:04
  All
• 22:04
  those
• 22:05
  aspects
• 22:05
  of
• 22:05
  Michael
• 22:05
  Scott?
• 22:06
  Yeah,
• 22:06
  well,
• 22:06
  I
• 22:07
  think
• 22:08
  they
• 22:08
  justify
• 22:09
  it
• 22:09
  because
• 22:09
  even
• 22:10
  in
• 22:10
  the
• 22:10
  beginning
• 22:10
  it's
• 22:10
  implied
• 22:11
  that
• 22:11
  he
• 22:11
  is
• 22:11
  a
• 22:12
  good
• 22:12
  salesman.
• 22:13
  As
• 22:13
  it
• 22:13
  goes
• 22:13
  on,
• 22:14
  he
• 22:15
  gets
• 22:15
  to
• 22:15
  showcase
• 22:16
  a
• 22:16
  few
• 22:16
  times
• 22:16
  that
• 22:17
  he
• 22:17
  really
• 22:17
  is
• 22:18
  just
• 22:18
  a
• 22:19
  crack
• 22:20
  job
• 22:20
  salesman.
• 22:21
  Like
• 22:21
  he
• 22:21
  is
• 22:22
  one
• 22:23
  of
• 22:23
  the
• 22:23
  best
• 22:24
  at
• 22:24
  sales
• 22:24
  and
• 22:25
  he
• 22:25
  just
• 22:25
  can't
• 22:25
  sell
• 22:26
  himself,
• 22:27
  which
• 22:28
  sucks.
• 22:30
  But
• 22:30
  it
• 22:31
  does
• 22:31
  play
• 22:31
  it
• 22:31
  very
• 22:31
  earnest.
• 22:33
  He
• 22:33
  is
• 22:33
  super
• 22:34
  desperate.
• 22:34
  He
• 22:35
  wants
• 22:35
  to
• 22:35
  be
• 22:35
  like
• 22:35
  everyone
• 22:36
  else.
• 22:36
  He
• 22:36
  wants
• 22:36
  everyone
• 22:37
  else
• 22:37
  to
• 22:37
  like
• 22:37
  him.
• 22:38
  It
• 22:38
  just
• 22:38
  kind
• 22:38
  of
• 22:39
  really
• 22:39
  sucks
• 22:40
  to
• 22:40
  watch
• 22:41
  from
• 22:41
  a
• 22:41
  sympathetic
• 22:42
  point
• 22:42
  of
• 22:42
  view
• 22:42
  at
• 22:42
  least.
• 22:44
  But
• 22:44
  he
• 22:44
  does
• 22:44
  prove
• 22:45
  that
• 22:45
  he
• 22:46
  at
• 22:46
  least
• 22:46
  somewhat
• 22:47
  earned
• 22:47
  his
• 22:47
  position
• 22:48
  as
• 22:48
  a
• 22:48
  manager,
• 22:49
  you
• 22:49
  know,
• 22:50
  through.
• 22:50
  Through
• 22:50
  sales
• 22:51
  excellence.
• 22:52
  And
• 22:53
  then
• 22:53
  somewhere
• 22:53
  along
• 22:53
  the
• 22:53
  way,
• 22:54
  he
• 22:54
  realized
• 22:55
  that
• 22:55
  he
• 22:56
  could
• 22:56
  abuse
• 22:56
  his
• 22:57
  station
• 22:57
  to
• 22:58
  have
• 22:58
  friends.
• 23:00
  Yeah.
• 23:01
  I
• 23:01
  wonder
• 23:01
  also,
• 23:02
  you
• 23:03
  know,
• 23:03
  we
• 23:03
  see.
• 23:03
  So
• 23:03
  one
• 23:04
  of
• 23:04
  the
• 23:04
  characters
• 23:04
  you
• 23:04
  showed
• 23:05
  there
• 23:05
  was
• 23:05
  Todd
• 23:06
  Packer.
• 23:07
  Right.
• 23:07
  Who
• 23:08
  is
• 23:09
  also,
• 23:09
  you
• 23:09
  know,
• 23:09
  if.
• 23:10
  If
• 23:11
  anything,
• 23:11
  an
• 23:11
  even
• 23:12
  less
• 23:13
  scrupulous
• 23:14
  teller
• 23:14
  of
• 23:15
  jokes
• 23:17
  and.
• 23:17
  Yeah,
• 23:19
  yeah,
• 23:20
  yeah.
• 23:20
  I
• 23:20
  don't
• 23:20
  think
• 23:20
  we
• 23:20
  can
• 23:21
  say
• 23:21
  anything
• 23:21
  that
• 23:21
  Todd
• 23:22
  said
• 23:22
  on
• 23:22
  the
• 23:22
  show.
• 23:22
  Yeah,
• 23:24
  we
• 23:24
  will
• 23:24
  not
• 23:24
  be
• 23:24
  repeating
• 23:25
  any
• 23:25
  of
• 23:25
  his
• 23:25
  lines,
• 23:26
  but.
• 23:27
  Yeah,
• 23:27
  just
• 23:29
  a
• 23:30
  difficult
• 23:30
  person
• 23:31
  to
• 23:32
  find
• 23:32
  redeeming
• 23:33
  qualities
• 23:33
  to.
• 23:33
  As
• 23:34
  portrayed.
• 23:36
  And
• 23:36
  I
• 23:36
  wonder,
• 23:38
  in
• 23:38
  trying
• 23:38
  to
• 23:39
  kind
• 23:39
  of
• 23:39
  meld
• 23:40
  all
• 23:40
  these
• 23:40
  different
• 23:40
  ingredients
• 23:41
  of
• 23:41
  Michael
• 23:42
  Scott,
• 23:42
  I
• 23:42
  was
• 23:43
  wondering
• 23:44
  how
• 23:45
  much
• 23:45
  is
• 23:45
  Todd
• 23:45
  Packer's
• 23:46
  influence
• 23:47
  there?
• 23:50
  They
• 23:50
  were
• 23:50
  working
• 23:50
  together.
• 23:50
  They
• 23:51
  were
• 23:51
  salespeople
• 23:51
  together.
• 23:52
  And
• 23:53
  perhaps,
• 23:53
  you
• 23:53
  know,
• 23:53
  given
• 23:54
  their.
• 23:55
  Given
• 23:55
  their
• 23:56
  personalities,
• 23:56
  were
• 23:56
  they
• 23:56
  both
• 23:57
  kind
• 23:57
  of
• 23:57
  outsiders?
• 23:57
  Michael
• 23:58
  Scott,
• 23:58
  because
• 23:58
  he
• 23:59
  just
• 23:59
  seemed
• 23:59
  awkward
• 24:00
  and.
• 24:00
  And
• 24:01
  lacking
• 24:02
  confidence
• 24:02
  and
• 24:03
  just
• 24:03
  so
• 24:03
  desperate
• 24:03
  for
• 24:03
  friendship
• 24:04
  that.
• 24:05
  That,
• 24:05
  you
• 24:05
  know,
• 24:05
  would
• 24:05
  turn
• 24:05
  people
• 24:06
  off.
• 24:06
  And
• 24:07
  Todd
• 24:07
  Becker
• 24:08
  just
• 24:08
  being
• 24:08
  this,
• 24:08
  you
• 24:08
  know,
• 24:09
  reprehensible
• 24:11
  character
• 24:12
  if.
• 24:13
  If
• 24:13
  they
• 24:13
  wound
• 24:14
  up
• 24:14
  kind
• 24:14
  of
• 24:14
  falling
• 24:14
  in
• 24:15
  with
• 24:15
  each
• 24:15
  other
• 24:15
  just,
• 24:16
  you
• 24:16
  know,
• 24:16
  because
• 24:17
  they
• 24:17
  were
• 24:17
  both,
• 24:19
  you
• 24:19
  know,
• 24:19
  loners
• 24:19
  or
• 24:20
  outsiders.
• 24:21
  And
• 24:21
  if
• 24:24
  Michael
• 24:24
  Scott
• 24:24
  kind
• 24:24
  of
• 24:24
  picked
• 24:25
  up
• 24:25
  bad
• 24:25
  habits
• 24:25
  from
• 24:26
  Todd
• 24:26
  Packer
• 24:27
  just
• 24:28
  by
• 24:28
  wanting
• 24:28
  to
• 24:28
  be
• 24:29
  his
• 24:29
  friend
• 24:29
  or
• 24:29
  wanting
• 24:30
  to
• 24:32
  plea
• 24:33
  to
• 24:33
  make
• 24:33
  him
• 24:33
  happy
• 24:34
  or
• 24:34
  whatever.
• 24:34
  And
• 24:34
  Todd
• 24:35
  Packer
• 24:35
  had
• 24:36
  no
• 24:36
  filter,
• 24:37
  no
• 24:38
  reason
• 24:39
  not
• 24:39
  to
• 24:40
  encourage
• 24:40
  that
• 24:40
  sort
• 24:41
  of
• 24:41
  thing.
• 24:42
  Yeah.
• 24:42
  And
• 24:42
  Todd
• 24:43
  is
• 24:44
  the
• 24:44
  kind
• 24:44
  of
• 24:44
  guy
• 24:44
  who
• 24:44
  absolutely
• 24:45
  would
• 24:46
  have
• 24:46
  had
• 24:46
  no
• 24:46
  problem
• 24:46
  taking
• 24:47
  full
• 24:47
  advantage
• 24:47
  of
• 24:48
  Michael
• 24:48
  Scott.
• 24:49
  Just
• 24:50
  the
• 24:50
  desperate
• 24:50
  young
• 24:51
  guy
• 24:51
  who
• 24:51
  needs
• 24:52
  friends.
• 24:52
  They
• 24:53
  were
• 24:53
  like,
• 24:53
  sales
• 24:53
  partners.
• 24:54
  So
• 24:54
  Todd
• 24:55
  had
• 24:55
  all
• 24:55
  the
• 24:55
  time
• 24:55
  in
• 24:55
  the
• 24:55
  world
• 24:56
  to
• 24:57
  just
• 24:58
  shape
• 24:59
  him.
• 24:59
  I
• 25:00
  don't
• 25:00
  think
• 25:00
  he
• 25:00
  would
• 25:00
  have
• 25:00
  had
• 25:00
  any
• 25:01
  problem
• 25:01
  being
• 25:01
  like,
• 25:02
  yeah,
• 25:02
  I'll
• 25:02
  let
• 25:03
  this
• 25:03
  kid
• 25:03
  follow
• 25:03
  me
• 25:03
  around
• 25:04
  and
• 25:04
  worship
• 25:05
  me
• 25:05
  while
• 25:06
  I
• 25:07
  be
• 25:07
  a
• 25:07
  generally
• 25:08
  reprehensible
• 25:10
  person.
• 25:11
  Right.
• 25:12
  Yeah.
• 25:13
  But
• 25:13
  I
• 25:13
  do
• 25:13
  think
• 25:13
  a
• 25:14
  lot
• 25:14
  of
• 25:14
  that
• 25:14
  he
• 25:15
  gets
• 25:15
  off
• 25:15
  of.
• 25:17
  He
• 25:17
  gets
• 25:17
  off.
• 25:17
  The
• 25:17
  Todd
• 25:18
  Packer
• 25:19
  mentality
• 25:20
  eventually
• 25:21
  just
• 25:21
  takes
• 25:22
  a
• 25:22
  long
• 25:22
  time.
• 25:23
  It
• 25:23
  does.
• 25:24
  I.
• 25:25
  Do
• 25:25
  you
• 25:25
  think
• 25:25
  there
• 25:26
  are
• 25:27
  specific
• 25:27
  people
• 25:27
  that
• 25:28
  maybe
• 25:28
  help
• 25:28
  him
• 25:29
  in
• 25:30
  that
• 25:30
  direction?
• 25:31
  I
• 25:31
  do.
• 25:32
  It's
• 25:32
  Jim
• 25:33
  and
• 25:33
  Dwight
• 25:34
  probably
• 25:35
  the
• 25:36
  best
• 25:36
  influences
• 25:37
  for
• 25:38
  Michael
• 25:38
  Scott.
• 25:39
  And
• 25:39
  it's
• 25:39
  weird,
• 25:40
  a
• 25:40
  lot
• 25:40
  of
• 25:40
  these
• 25:40
  episodes,
• 25:41
  the
• 25:41
  faces
• 25:42
  behind
• 25:42
  us,
• 25:42
  it's.
• 25:43
  It's
• 25:43
  not
• 25:43
  a
• 25:44
  character
• 25:45
  that
• 25:45
  we
• 25:45
  see
• 25:46
  this
• 25:46
  much
• 25:47
  actual
• 25:47
  growth
• 25:48
  in.
• 25:51
  It's
• 25:51
  like,
• 25:51
  in
• 25:51
  my
• 25:52
  opinion,
• 25:52
  it
• 25:52
  is
• 25:52
  the
• 25:52
  biggest
• 25:53
  strength
• 25:53
  of
• 25:53
  the
• 25:53
  Office
• 25:54
  is
• 25:54
  how
• 25:54
  much
• 25:54
  the
• 25:54
  characters
• 25:55
  change.
• 25:55
  Because
• 25:56
  not
• 25:56
  only
• 25:56
  in
• 25:57
  the
• 25:57
  show
• 25:57
  do
• 25:57
  they
• 25:57
  change
• 25:58
  a
• 25:59
  ridiculous
• 26:00
  amount,
• 26:01
  but
• 26:01
  also
• 26:02
  in
• 26:02
  real
• 26:02
  life.
• 26:03
  Almost
• 26:04
  every
• 26:04
  actor
• 26:04
  on
• 26:04
  the
• 26:05
  show
• 26:05
  got
• 26:06
  absurdly
• 26:07
  popular,
• 26:08
  especially
• 26:09
  Steve
• 26:10
  Carell,
• 26:10
  because
• 26:11
  of
• 26:11
  the
• 26:11
  40
• 26:11
  year
• 26:11
  old
• 26:11
  virgin.
• 26:12
  And
• 26:12
  then
• 26:13
  whatever
• 26:13
  else
• 26:16
  I
• 26:16
  remember
• 26:17
  what
• 26:17
  else
• 26:17
  he
• 26:17
  did
• 26:17
  something
• 26:18
  I
• 26:18
  think
• 26:19
  Despicable
• 26:19
  Me
• 26:19
  comes
• 26:20
  along
• 26:20
  at
• 26:20
  some
• 26:20
  point
• 26:21
  in
• 26:22
  the
• 26:22
  run
• 26:22
  of
• 26:22
  the.
• 26:22
  Oh
• 26:23
  my
• 26:23
  gosh,
• 26:24
  movie's
• 26:24
  so
• 26:24
  much
• 26:24
  older
• 26:25
  than
• 26:25
  I
• 26:25
  think
• 26:26
  you're
• 26:26
  right.
• 26:26
  It's
• 26:26
  like
• 26:27
  29
• 26:29
  or
• 26:30
  something.
• 26:30
  Something
• 26:31
  like
• 26:31
  that.
• 26:32
  It's
• 26:32
  a
• 26:32
  good
• 26:32
  movie.
• 26:33
  But
• 26:35
  Jim
• 26:35
  and
• 26:35
  Dwight
• 26:36
  help
• 26:36
  him
• 26:38
  just
• 26:38
  become
• 26:39
  a
• 26:40
  real
• 26:40
  person.
• 26:41
  You
• 26:42
  know,
• 26:43
  they
• 26:44
  have
• 26:44
  their
• 26:45
  own
• 26:45
  flaws
• 26:45
  for
• 26:46
  sure,
• 26:47
  but
• 26:48
  they're,
• 26:48
  they're
• 26:48
  both
• 26:48
  very
• 26:48
  real
• 26:49
  people.
• 26:49
  Well,
• 26:50
  Jim's
• 26:51
  a
• 26:51
  very
• 26:51
  real
• 26:51
  person.
• 26:53
  I
• 26:53
  don't
• 26:53
  think
• 26:54
  most
• 26:54
  people
• 26:54
  know
• 26:54
  someone
• 26:55
  like
• 26:55
  Dwight.
• 26:56
  I'm
• 26:56
  not
• 26:56
  saying
• 26:57
  he
• 26:57
  doesn't
• 26:57
  exist.
• 26:58
  I
• 26:58
  just
• 26:58
  think
• 26:59
  most
• 26:59
  people
• 26:59
  don't
• 26:59
  know
• 27:00
  someone
• 27:00
  like
• 27:00
  Dwight.
• 27:01
  But
• 27:01
  you
• 27:01
  can
• 27:02
  see
• 27:02
  it
• 27:02
  as,
• 27:03
  you
• 27:03
  know,
• 27:04
  they
• 27:04
  spend
• 27:04
  more
• 27:04
  time
• 27:05
  and
• 27:06
  with
• 27:06
  Michael
• 27:07
  Scott
• 27:07
  that
• 27:08
  they
• 27:08
  go
• 27:08
  closer
• 27:08
  together.
• 27:09
  Michael
• 27:10
  grows
• 27:11
  more
• 27:11
  like
• 27:11
  each
• 27:12
  of
• 27:12
  them.
• 27:13
  And
• 27:13
  that
• 27:14
  kind
• 27:14
  of
• 27:15
  plays
• 27:15
  off
• 27:16
  of
• 27:16
  how
• 27:16
  good
• 27:16
  he
• 27:17
  is
• 27:17
  at
• 27:17
  sales
• 27:19
  because
• 27:19
  neither
• 27:19
  of
• 27:19
  them
• 27:19
  really
• 27:20
  ever
• 27:20
  take
• 27:20
  him
• 27:20
  seriously
• 27:21
  until
• 27:21
  they
• 27:21
  get
• 27:21
  to
• 27:22
  see
• 27:22
  him
• 27:23
  run
• 27:23
  a
• 27:23
  sale.
• 27:24
  Like,
• 27:24
  oh,
• 27:25
  he's
• 27:25
  incredible.
• 27:26
  And
• 27:27
  of
• 27:27
  course,
• 27:27
  over
• 27:27
  time
• 27:28
  they
• 27:28
  just
• 27:28
  kind
• 27:28
  of
• 27:29
  become
• 27:29
  endeared
• 27:30
  to
• 27:30
  this
• 27:31
  generally
• 27:32
  pathetic
• 27:32
  man
• 27:34
  who
• 27:34
  just
• 27:34
  really
• 27:35
  needs
• 27:35
  a
• 27:35
  friend.
• 27:38
  So
• 27:39
  I
• 27:39
  think
• 27:39
  they
• 27:39
  help
• 27:39
  him
• 27:39
  a
• 27:40
  lot.
• 27:42
  Yeah,
• 27:43
  I
• 27:43
  think
• 27:43
  it's
• 27:43
  interesting.
• 27:43
  I
• 27:44
  think,
• 27:44
  I
• 27:44
  think
• 27:44
  Dwight's
• 27:44
  maybe
• 27:45
  a
• 27:45
  little
• 27:45
  bit
• 27:45
  more
• 27:45
  complicated
• 27:46
  because,
• 27:47
  you
• 27:47
  know,
• 27:47
  Dwight
• 27:47
  is
• 27:48
  himself
• 27:48
  desperate
• 27:49
  for
• 27:51
  advancement
• 27:51
  in
• 27:51
  the
• 27:52
  company.
• 27:53
  And
• 27:53
  so
• 27:53
  he's
• 27:54
  one
• 27:54
  of
• 27:54
  those
• 27:54
  people
• 27:54
  that
• 27:54
  sees,
• 27:55
  well,
• 27:55
  you
• 27:55
  know,
• 27:55
  I
• 27:55
  need
• 27:55
  to
• 27:56
  curry
• 27:56
  the
• 27:56
  favor
• 27:56
  of
• 27:56
  the,
• 27:57
  of
• 27:57
  the
• 27:57
  person
• 27:57
  above
• 27:57
  me
• 27:58
  to,
• 27:58
  to
• 27:59
  be
• 27:59
  promoted
• 27:59
  and
• 27:59
  to
• 28:00
  be
• 28:00
  advanced.
• 28:01
  And
• 28:02
  so
• 28:02
  in
• 28:02
  that
• 28:03
  regard,
• 28:03
  maybe
• 28:03
  he
• 28:04
  enables
• 28:04
  some
• 28:04
  of
• 28:04
  Michael
• 28:05
  Scott's
• 28:05
  worst
• 28:06
  impulses
• 28:07
  at
• 28:07
  times
• 28:07
  because
• 28:08
  he
• 28:08
  doesn't
• 28:08
  want
• 28:08
  to,
• 28:09
  to
• 28:09
  contradict
• 28:09
  the
• 28:10
  boss
• 28:10
  or,
• 28:10
  or
• 28:10
  anything
• 28:11
  like
• 28:11
  that.
• 28:13
  But
• 28:13
  yeah,
• 28:14
  at
• 28:14
  the
• 28:14
  same
• 28:14
  time,
• 28:15
  I
• 28:15
  think
• 28:15
  you're
• 28:15
  right
• 28:15
  that
• 28:16
  there
• 28:17
  are
• 28:17
  some
• 28:17
  positive
• 28:17
  influences
• 28:18
  there
• 28:18
  as
• 28:18
  well.
• 28:19
  And
• 28:19
  I
• 28:20
  think
• 28:23
  they
• 28:23
  both
• 28:25
  need
• 28:25
  some
• 28:25
  leadership.
• 28:26
  They
• 28:26
  need
• 28:26
  some
• 28:26
  management,
• 28:27
  they
• 28:27
  need
• 28:27
  to
• 28:27
  be
• 28:27
  managed
• 28:28
  and
• 28:29
  he
• 28:29
  is
• 28:29
  their
• 28:29
  manager.
• 28:30
  And
• 28:30
  yet
• 28:30
  he
• 28:31
  doesn't
• 28:31
  seem
• 28:32
  to
• 28:32
  know
• 28:32
  the
• 28:32
  first
• 28:32
  thing
• 28:32
  about
• 28:32
  how
• 28:32
  to
• 28:33
  do
• 28:33
  that.
• 28:33
  And
• 28:33
  his
• 28:34
  whole
• 28:34
  management
• 28:34
  style
• 28:35
  seems
• 28:35
  to
• 28:35
  be
• 28:35
  defined
• 28:36
  largely
• 28:36
  by,
• 28:37
  well,
• 28:37
  I'm
• 28:37
  just
• 28:37
  going
• 28:37
  to
• 28:37
  do
• 28:37
  something
• 28:38
  I
• 28:38
  don't
• 28:38
  want
• 28:38
  to
• 28:38
  do
• 28:38
  what,
• 28:39
  what
• 28:39
  Ed
• 28:39
  Truck
• 28:40
  did.
• 28:42
  And
• 28:43
  the
• 28:43
  fact
• 28:44
  that
• 28:44
  they
• 28:44
  need
• 28:46
  some,
• 28:47
  some
• 28:47
  structure,
• 28:47
  some
• 28:48
  management
• 28:48
  and
• 28:48
  so
• 28:48
  forth
• 28:49
  at
• 28:49
  different
• 28:49
  times,
• 28:50
  I
• 28:50
  think
• 28:50
  maybe
• 28:51
  puts
• 28:51
  him
• 28:51
  in
• 28:52
  a
• 28:52
  position
• 28:52
  where
• 28:52
  he
• 28:52
  has
• 28:52
  to
• 28:52
  figure
• 28:53
  out,
• 28:53
  oh,
• 28:53
  I
• 28:53
  need,
• 28:53
  I
• 28:54
  need
• 28:54
  something
• 28:54
  a
• 28:54
  little
• 28:54
  bit
• 28:54
  more
• 28:55
  substantive
• 28:55
  than
• 28:55
  just,
• 28:56
  I
• 28:57
  don't
• 28:57
  want
• 28:57
  to
• 28:57
  be
• 28:57
  like
• 28:57
  a
• 28:57
  Truck
• 28:58
  or
• 28:58
  I
• 28:59
  just
• 28:59
  want
• 28:59
  to
• 28:59
  be
• 28:59
  everybody's
• 28:59
  friend.
• 29:00
  I
• 29:00
  need
• 29:00
  to
• 29:00
  actually
• 29:00
  figure
• 29:00
  out
• 29:01
  how
• 29:01
  to,
• 29:01
  how
• 29:01
  to
• 29:01
  be
• 29:02
  a
• 29:02
  boss.
• 29:05
  He
• 29:05
  also,
• 29:05
  he
• 29:05
  gets
• 29:05
  A
• 29:06
  lot
• 29:06
  out
• 29:06
  of
• 29:06
  like
• 29:07
  Dwight
• 29:07
  becoming
• 29:07
  a
• 29:08
  much
• 29:08
  more
• 29:08
  well
• 29:08
  adjusted
• 29:09
  and
• 29:09
  normal
• 29:09
  person.
• 29:10
  I
• 29:11
  think
• 29:11
  seeing
• 29:11
  that
• 29:12
  slowly
• 29:12
  happen
• 29:13
  allows
• 29:13
  Michael
• 29:13
  to
• 29:14
  do
• 29:14
  the
• 29:14
  same.
• 29:16
  Right.
• 29:16
  Because
• 29:17
  they
• 29:17
  have
• 29:17
  a
• 29:18
  fun
• 29:18
  little
• 29:18
  triangle.
• 29:19
  You
• 29:19
  know,
• 29:20
  Jim
• 29:20
  and
• 29:20
  Dwight
• 29:20
  kind
• 29:20
  of
• 29:21
  hate
• 29:21
  each
• 29:21
  other
• 29:22
  and
• 29:22
  Jim
• 29:23
  kind
• 29:24
  of
• 29:24
  hates
• 29:24
  Michael.
• 29:25
  Michael
• 29:26
  absolutely
• 29:27
  idolizes
• 29:28
  Jim
• 29:29
  and
• 29:30
  kind
• 29:30
  of
• 29:30
  hates
• 29:31
  Dwight.
• 29:31
  Dwight's
• 29:32
  pretty
• 29:32
  much
• 29:32
  the
• 29:32
  only
• 29:33
  person
• 29:33
  who.
• 29:33
  He
• 29:33
  doesn't
• 29:34
  want
• 29:34
  to
• 29:34
  be
• 29:34
  his
• 29:34
  friend,
• 29:36
  which
• 29:38
  is
• 29:38
  interesting
• 29:40
  because
• 29:40
  he's
• 29:40
  so
• 29:40
  desperate.
• 29:41
  He
• 29:41
  just
• 29:41
  doesn't
• 29:41
  want
• 29:42
  that
• 29:42
  friend
• 29:43
  because
• 29:43
  he
• 29:43
  can
• 29:43
  tell
• 29:43
  most
• 29:44
  people
• 29:44
  don't
• 29:44
  like
• 29:44
  Dwight
• 29:45
  and
• 29:45
  Jim
• 29:46
  is
• 29:46
  just
• 29:46
  a
• 29:46
  cool,
• 29:47
  hot
• 29:47
  guy.
• 29:49
  Yeah.
• 29:50
  There's
• 29:50
  also
• 29:50
  the
• 29:50
  element
• 29:51
  of,
• 29:51
  you
• 29:51
  know,
• 29:52
  we
• 29:52
  maybe
• 29:52
  come
• 29:52
  to
• 29:53
  appreciate
• 29:53
  some
• 29:53
  of
• 29:54
  Michael
• 29:54
  Scott's
• 29:55
  quirks
• 29:55
  as
• 29:56
  Jim
• 29:56
  and
• 29:56
  Dwight
• 29:56
  come
• 29:57
  to
• 29:57
  appreciate
• 29:57
  them.
• 29:58
  You
• 29:58
  know,
• 29:58
  there's
• 29:58
  the
• 29:58
  episode
• 29:59
  where
• 30:01
  Jim
• 30:01
  has
• 30:01
  to,
• 30:02
  to
• 30:03
  manage
• 30:03
  for
• 30:04
  a
• 30:04
  day
• 30:04
  and,
• 30:04
  and
• 30:05
  realize
• 30:06
  that
• 30:06
  he
• 30:07
  finds
• 30:07
  himself
• 30:08
  falling
• 30:09
  into
• 30:09
  some
• 30:09
  of
• 30:09
  the
• 30:09
  same
• 30:09
  patterns
• 30:10
  that
• 30:10
  Michael
• 30:11
  Scott
• 30:11
  does
• 30:11
  in
• 30:11
  terms
• 30:12
  of
• 30:14
  trying
• 30:15
  to,
• 30:15
  to
• 30:16
  coax
• 30:16
  people
• 30:16
  into
• 30:17
  doing
• 30:17
  different
• 30:17
  things
• 30:17
  with
• 30:17
  different
• 30:18
  carrots,
• 30:19
  so
• 30:19
  to
• 30:19
  speak.
• 30:20
  And
• 30:22
  yeah,
• 30:23
  just,
• 30:23
  you
• 30:23
  know,
• 30:23
  and
• 30:23
  you
• 30:24
  can,
• 30:24
  you
• 30:24
  can
• 30:24
  see
• 30:24
  him
• 30:24
  realizing,
• 30:25
  oh,
• 30:25
  maybe
• 30:25
  there
• 30:26
  is
• 30:26
  a
• 30:26
  reason
• 30:26
  why,
• 30:27
  why
• 30:27
  Michael
• 30:27
  does
• 30:28
  things
• 30:28
  the
• 30:28
  way
• 30:28
  that
• 30:28
  he
• 30:28
  does
• 30:28
  sometimes,
• 30:30
  and
• 30:32
  maybe
• 30:32
  there
• 30:32
  is
• 30:32
  some
• 30:35
  benefit
• 30:35
  to
• 30:36
  it
• 30:36
  or
• 30:36
  there
• 30:37
  is
• 30:37
  a
• 30:37
  value
• 30:37
  to
• 30:38
  doing
• 30:39
  things
• 30:40
  the
• 30:40
  way
• 30:40
  that
• 30:40
  he
• 30:40
  does
• 30:40
  them
• 30:42
  and
• 30:43
  that
• 30:43
  allows
• 30:43
  us
• 30:43
  to
• 30:44
  maybe
• 30:44
  see
• 30:45
  that
• 30:45
  there
• 30:45
  was
• 30:47
  something
• 30:47
  worthwhile
• 30:48
  there.
• 30:48
  Or
• 30:50
  it's
• 30:50
  a
• 30:50
  clever
• 30:51
  retcon,
• 30:52
  actually.
• 30:55
  There
• 30:55
  was
• 30:55
  a
• 30:55
  reason
• 30:56
  why
• 30:56
  he
• 30:56
  did
• 30:56
  these
• 30:56
  things
• 30:56
  when
• 30:57
  really
• 30:57
  it
• 30:57
  was
• 30:57
  just
• 30:57
  nonsense
• 30:58
  at
• 30:58
  the
• 30:58
  time.
• 30:59
  Yeah,
• 30:59
  it's
• 31:00
  good
• 31:00
  writing,
• 31:00
  if
• 31:01
  you
• 31:01
  ask
• 31:01
  me.
• 31:02
  Sure.
• 31:02
  You
• 31:03
  know.
• 31:03
  Right.
• 31:04
  You
• 31:04
  got
• 31:04
  to
• 31:04
  work
• 31:04
  with
• 31:04
  the
• 31:04
  constraints
• 31:05
  that
• 31:05
  you
• 31:06
  set
• 31:06
  up
• 31:06
  and
• 31:06
  figure
• 31:06
  out
• 31:06
  how
• 31:07
  to.
• 31:07
  Yeah,
• 31:08
  I
• 31:08
  don't
• 31:08
  think
• 31:08
  they
• 31:08
  really
• 31:09
  expected
• 31:09
  it
• 31:09
  to
• 31:09
  become
• 31:10
  like
• 31:10
  the
• 31:10
  biggest
• 31:10
  show
• 31:11
  on
• 31:11
  television.
• 31:12
  Yeah,
• 31:12
  I
• 31:12
  don't,
• 31:13
  I
• 31:13
  don't
• 31:13
  know
• 31:13
  quite
• 31:13
  how
• 31:13
  to,
• 31:14
  how
• 31:15
  to
• 31:15
  get
• 31:15
  across
• 31:15
  in,
• 31:16
  in
• 31:16
  today's
• 31:17
  terms
• 31:17
  just
• 31:17
  how
• 31:18
  big
• 31:18
  the
• 31:18
  cultural
• 31:19
  impact
• 31:19
  of
• 31:19
  the
• 31:20
  Office
• 31:20
  was.
• 31:22
  You
• 31:22
  know,
• 31:22
  we
• 31:22
  just
• 31:22
  don't
• 31:23
  have
• 31:24
  network
• 31:24
  television
• 31:25
  that
• 31:25
  everybody
• 31:25
  watches
• 31:26
  anymore
• 31:27
  the
• 31:27
  way
• 31:27
  that,
• 31:28
  that
• 31:28
  we
• 31:28
  did.
• 31:28
  You
• 31:29
  know,
• 31:29
  I
• 31:29
  wouldn't,
• 31:29
  I
• 31:29
  don't
• 31:29
  know
• 31:29
  that
• 31:30
  I
• 31:30
  can
• 31:30
  say
• 31:30
  this
• 31:30
  is
• 31:30
  the
• 31:30
  last
• 31:31
  such
• 31:31
  show,
• 31:31
  but
• 31:31
  certainly
• 31:32
  it
• 31:32
  is
• 31:33
  one
• 31:34
  of,
• 31:34
  you
• 31:34
  know,
• 31:35
  the
• 31:36
  Office
• 31:36
  and
• 31:36
  Lost
• 31:37
  were
• 31:37
  kind
• 31:37
  of
• 31:38
  the.
• 31:39
  And
• 31:39
  maybe
• 31:39
  something
• 31:39
  like
• 31:39
  Modern
• 31:40
  Family.
• 31:40
  I
• 31:40
  don't
• 31:40
  know.
• 31:40
  You
• 31:40
  know,
• 31:41
  there's
• 31:41
  maybe
• 31:41
  a
• 31:41
  couple
• 31:42
  other
• 31:42
  examples,
• 31:42
  but
• 31:42
  yeah,
• 31:43
  that's
• 31:43
  sort
• 31:43
  of
• 31:43
  some
• 31:44
  of
• 31:44
  the
• 31:44
  last
• 31:44
  hurrahs
• 31:45
  of
• 31:46
  the,
• 31:46
  the
• 31:47
  monoculture
• 31:47
  of,
• 31:48
  of
• 31:49
  network
• 31:49
  television.
• 31:50
  Yeah.
• 31:51
  I
• 31:51
  think
• 31:51
  the,
• 31:51
  the
• 31:51
  closest
• 31:52
  thing
• 31:52
  to
• 31:53
  explain
• 31:53
  to
• 31:53
  like
• 31:53
  a
• 31:54
  younger
• 31:54
  person
• 31:56
  listening
• 31:56
  to
• 31:56
  this
• 31:57
  is
• 31:57
  it.
• 31:58
  It
• 31:58
  was
• 31:58
  like
• 31:58
  Stranger
• 31:58
  Things.
• 31:59
  Everyone
• 32:00
  talked
• 32:00
  about
• 32:00
  the
• 32:00
  Office.
• 32:02
  Everyone
• 32:02
  had
• 32:02
  seen
• 32:03
  the
• 32:03
  Office
• 32:04
  it
• 32:04
  was.
• 32:04
  It
• 32:05
  was
• 32:05
  just
• 32:05
  constant
• 32:06
  for
• 32:06
  years.
• 32:07
  Years.
• 32:09
  I
• 32:09
  feel
• 32:09
  like
• 32:09
  the
• 32:10
  office
• 32:10
  kind
• 32:10
  of
• 32:10
  dominated
• 32:11
  pop
• 32:11
  culture
• 32:12
  until,
• 32:14
  like,
• 32:14
  I
• 32:14
  started
• 32:14
  watching
• 32:15
  it
• 32:15
  until,
• 32:16
  like,
• 32:16
  2016,
• 32:16
  17.
• 32:17
  It
• 32:17
  was
• 32:18
  just
• 32:18
  everywhere.
• 32:19
  Yeah.
• 32:20
  And
• 32:20
  then
• 32:20
  it,
• 32:20
  you
• 32:21
  know,
• 32:21
  it.
• 32:21
  It
• 32:21
  got
• 32:22
  that
• 32:22
  boost
• 32:23
  as
• 32:23
  sort
• 32:23
  of
• 32:23
  being
• 32:23
  one
• 32:24
  of
• 32:24
  the
• 32:24
  big
• 32:24
  first,
• 32:24
  big
• 32:25
  streaming,
• 32:28
  you
• 32:28
  know,
• 32:28
  killer
• 32:29
  apps,
• 32:30
  you
• 32:30
  know,
• 32:30
  not.
• 32:31
  Not.
• 32:32
  Not
• 32:32
  the
• 32:32
  first
• 32:32
  one
• 32:33
  necessarily,
• 32:33
  but
• 32:33
  it
• 32:33
  was
• 32:33
  definitely
• 32:33
  one
• 32:34
  of
• 32:34
  those
• 32:34
  properties
• 32:34
  that,
• 32:34
  you
• 32:35
  know,
• 32:35
  everybody's
• 32:35
  kind
• 32:35
  of
• 32:35
  waiting
• 32:35
  where,
• 32:36
  you
• 32:36
  know,
• 32:36
  where
• 32:36
  is
• 32:36
  it
• 32:36
  going
• 32:36
  to
• 32:36
  wind
• 32:36
  up
• 32:37
  on
• 32:37
  streaming
• 32:37
  to
• 32:38
  check
• 32:38
  it
• 32:38
  out
• 32:38
  again
• 32:38
  or
• 32:39
  check
• 32:39
  it
• 32:39
  out
• 32:39
  for
• 32:39
  the
• 32:39
  first
• 32:39
  time?
• 32:40
  Like,
• 32:40
  yeah,
• 32:41
  that's
• 32:42
  where
• 32:42
  I
• 32:42
  met.
• 32:42
  But
• 32:43
  I
• 32:43
  was
• 32:43
  like,
• 32:43
  I
• 32:44
  started
• 32:44
  high
• 32:44
  school,
• 32:44
  not
• 32:45
  high
• 32:45
  school.
• 32:45
  I
• 32:45
  started
• 32:45
  college
• 32:46
  in
• 32:46
  2017,
• 32:47
  was
• 32:47
  my
• 32:47
  freshman
• 32:48
  year.
• 32:48
  Okay.
• 32:50
  And
• 32:50
  I
• 32:51
  feel
• 32:51
  like
• 32:51
  half
• 32:51
  of
• 32:52
  my
• 32:52
  class
• 32:52
  had
• 32:52
  Dunder
• 32:53
  Mifflin
• 32:53
  stickers
• 32:54
  on
• 32:54
  their
• 32:54
  laptops.
• 32:55
  Wow.
• 32:56
  It
• 32:56
  was
• 32:57
  crazy.
• 32:58
  Yeah.
• 32:58
  That
• 32:58
  is.
• 32:59
  That
• 32:59
  is
• 32:59
  remarkable,
• 33:00
  you
• 33:00
  know,
• 33:00
  for
• 33:00
  a
• 33:01
  group
• 33:01
  of.
• 33:01
  Group
• 33:02
  of
• 33:02
  people
• 33:02
  that
• 33:02
  had
• 33:02
  no
• 33:03
  experience
• 33:03
  working
• 33:03
  in
• 33:04
  offices
• 33:04
  or
• 33:04
  very
• 33:04
  minimal
• 33:05
  experience
• 33:05
  working
• 33:06
  in
• 33:06
  offices.
• 33:07
  It's
• 33:07
  just
• 33:07
  funny.
• 33:07
  It's
• 33:08
  well
• 33:08
  written.
• 33:08
  Yeah.
• 33:09
  Well,
• 33:09
  it's
• 33:09
  sharp.
• 33:10
  It
• 33:10
  can
• 33:10
  be
• 33:11
  very
• 33:11
  sharp.
• 33:11
  Can
• 33:11
  be
• 33:12
  very
• 33:12
  silly.
• 33:13
  Yes.
• 33:14
  So
• 33:15
  this
• 33:15
  is
• 33:15
  my
• 33:15
  first
• 33:16
  Faces
• 33:16
  behind
• 33:16
  this
• 33:17
  episode.
• 33:17
  You
• 33:18
  mentioned
• 33:18
  that
• 33:18
  you've
• 33:18
  been
• 33:19
  on
• 33:19
  several
• 33:19
  of
• 33:20
  these.
• 33:21
  All
• 33:21
  of
• 33:21
  them
• 33:21
  so
• 33:22
  far.
• 33:22
  Okay.
• 33:23
  Every
• 33:24
  one
• 33:24
  of
• 33:24
  them.
• 34:09
  So
• 34:11
  we're
• 34:11
  moved
• 34:12
  to
• 34:12
  talk
• 34:12
  a
• 34:12
  little
• 34:12
  bit
• 34:12
  about,
• 34:13
  I
• 34:13
  guess,
• 34:15
  how
• 34:15
  we
• 34:17
  identify
• 34:17
  good
• 34:17
  mentors
• 34:18
  and
• 34:19
  bad
• 34:19
  mentors.
• 34:19
  Good
• 34:19
  influences
• 34:20
  and
• 34:20
  bad
• 34:20
  influences.
• 34:23
  You
• 34:24
  know,
• 34:24
  there's
• 34:24
  a
• 34:25
  part
• 34:25
  that
• 34:25
  wants
• 34:25
  to
• 34:25
  say,
• 34:25
  just
• 34:26
  avoid
• 34:26
  anybody
• 34:27
  who
• 34:27
  reminds
• 34:27
  you
• 34:27
  of
• 34:27
  anyone
• 34:28
  from
• 34:28
  the
• 34:29
  office.
• 34:29
  Right.
• 34:30
  But
• 34:31
  that's
• 34:32
  perhaps
• 34:32
  not
• 34:32
  quite
• 34:33
  so
• 34:33
  constructive.
• 34:35
  Mostly.
• 34:38
  I
• 34:38
  don't
• 34:38
  know.
• 34:38
  It
• 34:38
  is
• 34:39
  kind
• 34:39
  of
• 34:39
  one
• 34:39
  of
• 34:39
  those
• 34:39
  shows
• 34:39
  where
• 34:40
  everyone
• 34:41
  is
• 34:41
  kind
• 34:41
  of
• 34:41
  a
• 34:42
  little
• 34:42
  bit
• 34:42
  problematic.
• 34:43
  I
• 34:43
  mean,
• 34:43
  Jim,
• 34:44
  I
• 34:44
  think
• 34:44
  most
• 34:45
  people
• 34:45
  would
• 34:45
  consider
• 34:45
  to
• 34:46
  be
• 34:46
  the
• 34:46
  most
• 34:46
  normal
• 34:46
  character
• 34:47
  on
• 34:47
  the
• 34:47
  show.
• 34:47
  And
• 34:47
  he's
• 34:48
  still
• 34:48
  like
• 34:48
  a
• 34:48
  borderline
• 34:49
  sociopath.
• 34:51
  Yeah.
• 34:51
  The
• 34:52
  pranks
• 34:53
  against
• 34:53
  White
• 34:55
  come
• 34:55
  early
• 34:55
  and
• 34:55
  often
• 34:56
  in
• 34:57
  the
• 34:57
  sorcery
• 34:57
  seasons.
• 34:58
  And
• 34:58
  really,
• 34:59
  with
• 35:00
  on
• 35:01
  the
• 35:01
  rewatch,
• 35:01
  I
• 35:01
  found
• 35:01
  myself
• 35:02
  going,
• 35:02
  wait,
• 35:04
  what
• 35:04
  did
• 35:05
  Dwight
• 35:05
  do
• 35:05
  to
• 35:05
  deserve
• 35:06
  this?
• 35:06
  How
• 35:06
  did
• 35:06
  Dwight
• 35:07
  learn
• 35:07
  this?
• 35:08
  The
• 35:08
  best
• 35:08
  explanation
• 35:09
  I've
• 35:09
  come
• 35:09
  up
• 35:09
  with
• 35:09
  is
• 35:10
  that
• 35:10
  I
• 35:10
  think
• 35:12
  the
• 35:13
  early,
• 35:13
  you
• 35:13
  know,
• 35:14
  the
• 35:14
  time
• 35:14
  period
• 35:14
  when
• 35:15
  the
• 35:15
  show
• 35:15
  premiered,
• 35:16
  we
• 35:16
  were
• 35:16
  kind
• 35:17
  of
• 35:17
  at
• 35:17
  a
• 35:17
  peak
• 35:18
  of
• 35:20
  sort
• 35:20
  of
• 35:20
  cool
• 35:21
  detachment
• 35:22
  and
• 35:22
  cynicism
• 35:24
  and
• 35:25
  the
• 35:26
  earnestness
• 35:26
  that
• 35:27
  Dwight
• 35:27
  displays
• 35:28
  for
• 35:28
  wanting
• 35:29
  to
• 35:29
  do
• 35:29
  a
• 35:29
  good
• 35:29
  job
• 35:30
  and
• 35:30
  wanting
• 35:30
  to
• 35:30
  be
• 35:30
  promoted
• 35:31
  and
• 35:31
  just
• 35:31
  generally
• 35:32
  being
• 35:32
  earnest
• 35:32
  and
• 35:33
  enthusiastic
• 35:33
  about
• 35:34
  all
• 35:34
  these
• 35:34
  different
• 35:34
  things.
• 35:37
  That
• 35:37
  was.
• 35:37
  That
• 35:38
  was
• 35:38
  about
• 35:38
  one
• 35:38
  of
• 35:38
  the
• 35:38
  worst
• 35:39
  crimes
• 35:39
  that
• 35:39
  you
• 35:39
  could
• 35:39
  commit.
• 35:40
  Right.
• 35:40
  The.
• 35:40
  Everybody
• 35:40
  wanted
• 35:41
  to
• 35:41
  be
• 35:41
  the
• 35:42
  cool,
• 35:42
  detached
• 35:42
  Jim
• 35:43
  who
• 35:43
  didn't
• 35:44
  care
• 35:44
  about
• 35:44
  anything
• 35:45
  and
• 35:46
  was,
• 35:46
  you
• 35:46
  know,
• 35:47
  approached
• 35:47
  everything
• 35:47
  With.
• 35:48
  With
• 35:48
  a
• 35:48
  hint
• 35:48
  of
• 35:48
  irony
• 35:49
  or.
• 35:49
  Or
• 35:49
  heavy
• 35:50
  dose
• 35:50
  of
• 35:50
  irony.
• 35:51
  And.
• 35:53
  Yeah,
• 35:53
  so
• 35:53
  I
• 35:53
  think.
• 35:54
  I
• 35:54
  think
• 35:54
  we
• 35:54
  were.
• 35:54
  I
• 35:55
  think
• 35:55
  it
• 35:55
  just
• 35:55
  kind
• 35:55
  of
• 35:55
  was
• 35:56
  obvious
• 35:56
  at
• 35:56
  the
• 35:56
  time.
• 35:56
  Well,
• 35:57
  Dwight.
• 35:57
  Dwight's
• 35:58
  crime
• 35:58
  is
• 35:58
  he
• 35:59
  cares
• 35:59
  too
• 35:59
  much,
• 35:59
  and
• 36:00
  he
• 36:00
  needs
• 36:00
  to
• 36:00
  be
• 36:01
  taken
• 36:01
  down
• 36:01
  a
• 36:01
  peg
• 36:02
  to
• 36:02
  kind
• 36:02
  of
• 36:02
  loosen
• 36:02
  him
• 36:02
  up.
• 36:03
  And
• 36:03
  I
• 36:03
  think
• 36:05
  in
• 36:05
  more
• 36:06
  contemporary
• 36:07
  moments
• 36:08
  where
• 36:08
  I
• 36:08
  think
• 36:08
  we've
• 36:09
  swung
• 36:09
  a
• 36:09
  little
• 36:09
  bit
• 36:09
  more
• 36:09
  towards
• 36:10
  actually
• 36:11
  earnestness
• 36:12
  and
• 36:12
  caring
• 36:12
  about
• 36:13
  things
• 36:13
  and
• 36:13
  being
• 36:13
  sincere,
• 36:15
  have
• 36:15
  their
• 36:15
  place
• 36:15
  and
• 36:15
  have
• 36:15
  their
• 36:16
  merits,
• 36:16
  I
• 36:16
  think
• 36:17
  from
• 36:17
  that
• 36:17
  perspective,
• 36:18
  it's
• 36:19
  harder
• 36:19
  to
• 36:19
  approach
• 36:19
  the
• 36:20
  office
• 36:20
  and
• 36:20
  understand
• 36:22
  why
• 36:23
  Dwight
• 36:23
  is
• 36:23
  treated
• 36:24
  the
• 36:24
  way
• 36:24
  that
• 36:24
  he
• 36:24
  is
• 36:24
  and
• 36:24
  why
• 36:24
  that
• 36:24
  isn't
• 36:25
  anything
• 36:25
  other
• 36:25
  than
• 36:26
  just
• 36:26
  bullying.
• 36:28
  Yeah.
• 36:28
  Some
• 36:29
  of
• 36:29
  those
• 36:29
  pranks
• 36:29
  are,
• 36:29
  like,
• 36:30
  generational,
• 36:30
  though,
• 36:30
  so
• 36:31
  those
• 36:31
  pranks
• 36:31
  are
• 36:32
  so
• 36:32
  good.
• 36:33
  Where
• 36:33
  he
• 36:33
  wraps
• 36:33
  his
• 36:34
  desk.
• 36:34
  He
• 36:34
  turns
• 36:34
  his
• 36:35
  desk
• 36:35
  into
• 36:35
  just,
• 36:36
  like,
• 36:36
  wrapping
• 36:36
  paper.
• 36:37
  Like,
• 36:37
  there's
• 36:37
  not
• 36:37
  even
• 36:38
  cardboard
• 36:38
  boxes
• 36:38
  in
• 36:38
  them.
• 36:39
  It
• 36:39
  seems
• 36:39
  right.
• 36:39
  He
• 36:39
  does
• 36:40
  it
• 36:40
  right.
• 36:40
  He
• 36:40
  makes
• 36:40
  it
• 36:41
  look
• 36:41
  like
• 36:41
  he
• 36:41
  has
• 36:41
  wrapped
• 36:41
  up
• 36:42
  the
• 36:42
  desk
• 36:42
  in
• 36:43
  wrapping
• 36:43
  paper.
• 36:44
  But
• 36:44
  in
• 36:44
  fact,
• 36:44
  he's.
• 36:44
  It's.
• 36:45
  It's
• 36:45
  a.
• 36:45
  It's
• 36:46
  a
• 36:46
  faux
• 36:46
  desk.
• 36:47
  It's
• 36:47
  just
• 36:47
  a
• 36:47
  desk
• 36:47
  shape.
• 36:48
  Just
• 36:48
  the
• 36:48
  paper.
• 36:49
  It's
• 36:49
  so
• 36:49
  funny.
• 36:50
  No,
• 36:51
  they're
• 36:51
  absolutely
• 36:52
  very
• 36:53
  clever.
• 36:54
  Just,
• 36:54
  again,
• 36:55
  terrible
• 36:55
  things
• 36:56
  to
• 36:56
  actually
• 36:56
  do
• 36:57
  to
• 36:57
  an
• 36:57
  actual
• 36:57
  human
• 36:57
  being.
• 36:59
  Absurd.
• 36:59
  He
• 36:59
  replaces
• 37:00
  himself
• 37:01
  with
• 37:02
  one
• 37:02
  of
• 37:02
  his
• 37:02
  actor
• 37:03
  friends.
• 37:04
  That's
• 37:04
  a
• 37:04
  level
• 37:04
  of
• 37:05
  gaslighting
• 37:05
  that
• 37:07
  I
• 37:07
  don't
• 37:07
  think
• 37:07
  any
• 37:07
  character
• 37:08
  in
• 37:09
  anything
• 37:09
  has
• 37:09
  ever
• 37:10
  tried
• 37:10
  to
• 37:10
  reach.
• 37:11
  Yes.
• 37:11
  And
• 37:12
  I
• 37:12
  love
• 37:12
  that
• 37:12
  Randall
• 37:13
  park
• 37:13
  still
• 37:13
  gets
• 37:14
  mileage
• 37:15
  out
• 37:15
  of
• 37:15
  that.
• 37:16
  You
• 37:16
  know,
• 37:16
  you
• 37:16
  still
• 37:16
  see
• 37:17
  the
• 37:17
  memes
• 37:17
  of,
• 37:20
  this
• 37:20
  is
• 37:20
  John
• 37:20
  Krasinski.
• 37:21
  What
• 37:21
  are
• 37:21
  you
• 37:21
  talking
• 37:21
  about?
• 37:22
  It's
• 37:22
  pretty
• 37:22
  funny.
• 37:23
  Yeah.
• 37:23
  And
• 37:24
  then
• 37:24
  Dwight's
• 37:24
  like,
• 37:24
  okay,
• 37:25
  kiss
• 37:25
  Pam.
• 37:26
  He
• 37:26
  just
• 37:27
  does
• 37:27
  it.
• 37:27
  Mm.
• 37:28
  That's.
• 37:28
  That's
• 37:29
  hilarious.
• 37:29
  Oh,
• 37:30
  yes.
• 37:30
  Solid
• 37:31
  comedy.
• 37:32
  Terrible
• 37:32
  humaning,
• 37:34
  horrible
• 37:35
  person.
• 37:35
  So,
• 37:36
  yeah,
• 37:36
  generally,
• 37:37
  I
• 37:37
  would
• 37:37
  say
• 37:37
  avoid
• 37:38
  the
• 37:38
  people
• 37:39
  in
• 37:39
  your
• 37:39
  life
• 37:39
  if
• 37:40
  they
• 37:40
  remind
• 37:40
  you
• 37:40
  of
• 37:40
  someone
• 37:41
  from
• 37:41
  the
• 37:41
  office,
• 37:42
  especially
• 37:42
  the
• 37:42
  really
• 37:43
  problematic
• 37:43
  ones.
• 37:44
  Ryan
• 37:44
  Howard.
• 37:45
  Stay
• 37:45
  away
• 37:45
  from
• 37:45
  that
• 37:45
  person.
• 37:46
  Stay
• 37:46
  really
• 37:47
  far
• 37:47
  away
• 37:47
  from
• 37:47
  that
• 37:47
  person.
• 37:48
  I
• 37:48
  don't
• 37:48
  remember
• 37:49
  Mindy
• 37:49
  Kaling's
• 37:49
  character's
• 37:50
  name,
• 37:51
  because
• 37:52
  by
• 37:52
  the
• 37:52
  time
• 37:52
  I
• 37:52
  started
• 37:53
  watching
• 37:53
  Kelly.
• 37:54
  Kelly
• 37:54
  Kapoor,
• 37:56
  by
• 37:56
  the
• 37:57
  time
• 37:57
  I
• 37:57
  started
• 37:57
  watching,
• 37:57
  she
• 37:57
  was
• 37:58
  already
• 37:58
  Mindy
• 37:58
  Kaling
• 37:59
  to
• 37:59
  me.
• 37:59
  I
• 37:59
  don't
• 37:59
  know
• 38:00
  what
• 38:01
  from.
• 38:03
  Maybe
• 38:04
  it
• 38:04
  was
• 38:04
  the
• 38:04
  Mindy
• 38:04
  Project.
• 38:06
  Maybe
• 38:06
  it
• 38:06
  was.
• 38:07
  But
• 38:08
  anyway,
• 38:09
  most
• 38:09
  of
• 38:10
  the
• 38:10
  people
• 38:10
  in
• 38:10
  the
• 38:11
  office
• 38:11
  suck.
• 38:13
  Stanley's
• 38:13
  a
• 38:13
  good
• 38:14
  role
• 38:14
  model.
• 38:15
  Show
• 38:15
  up
• 38:16
  to
• 38:16
  work,
• 38:16
  do
• 38:16
  your
• 38:16
  job,
• 38:18
  sleep
• 38:18
  a
• 38:18
  little.
• 38:19
  Yeah,
• 38:21
  you
• 38:21
  deserve
• 38:21
  it.
• 38:21
  You
• 38:21
  deserve
• 38:22
  to
• 38:22
  take
• 38:22
  a
• 38:22
  nap
• 38:22
  at
• 38:22
  work
• 38:23
  every
• 38:23
  once
• 38:23
  in
• 38:23
  a
• 38:23
  while.
• 38:24
  Sure.
• 38:25
  Oscar
• 38:26
  also
• 38:26
  seems
• 38:27
  like
• 38:27
  a
• 38:27
  pretty
• 38:27
  good.
• 38:28
  You
• 38:28
  know,
• 38:28
  he's.
• 38:29
  He's
• 38:29
  serious
• 38:30
  about
• 38:30
  his
• 38:30
  accounting
• 38:30
  he
• 38:31
  takes
• 38:31
  his.
• 38:31
  His
• 38:31
  work
• 38:31
  seriously.
• 38:32
  Yeah.
• 38:33
  He
• 38:34
  probably
• 38:34
  has
• 38:34
  the
• 38:34
  hardest
• 38:35
  job
• 38:35
  in
• 38:35
  the
• 38:35
  office.
• 38:36
  Yes.
• 38:37
  Working
• 38:37
  next
• 38:38
  to
• 38:39
  Kevin,
• 38:40
  who
• 38:40
  made
• 38:40
  up
• 38:40
  a
• 38:40
  number
• 38:41
  to
• 38:41
  balance
• 38:41
  his
• 38:42
  books.
• 38:43
  Gotta
• 38:43
  be
• 38:43
  the
• 38:43
  hardest
• 38:43
  thing
• 38:44
  you
• 38:44
  can
• 38:44
  do
• 38:44
  as
• 38:44
  an
• 38:44
  accountant.
• 38:45
  Yes.
• 38:47
  You
• 38:47
  know,
• 38:47
  and
• 38:47
  still
• 38:48
  maintains,
• 38:49
  you
• 38:49
  know,
• 38:49
  is
• 38:50
  still
• 38:50
  sociable
• 38:51
  enough
• 38:51
  that
• 38:51
  he
• 38:52
  isn't
• 38:52
  the
• 38:52
  pariah
• 38:53
  that
• 38:53
  Dwight
• 38:54
  is.
• 38:54
  So.
• 38:55
  Yeah,
• 38:55
  maybe.
• 38:56
  Maybe
• 38:57
  be
• 38:57
  Oscar.
• 38:58
  If
• 38:58
  you
• 38:59
  feel
• 38:59
  like
• 38:59
  you
• 38:59
  have
• 38:59
  to
• 38:59
  be
• 38:59
  someone
• 39:00
  from
• 39:00
  the
• 39:00
  office,
• 39:01
  aim
• 39:01
  for
• 39:02
  the
• 39:03
  Oscar
• 39:04
  Stanley
• 39:06
  coordinates.
• 39:06
  Yeah,
• 39:08
  there's
• 39:08
  a
• 39:08
  coincision
• 39:09
  there.
• 39:10
  I
• 39:10
  mean,
• 39:11
  you
• 39:11
  can
• 39:11
  mix
• 39:11
  of
• 39:11
  those
• 39:11
  two,
• 39:12
  but
• 39:13
  as
• 39:13
  far
• 39:13
  as
• 39:13
  people
• 39:13
  who
• 39:14
  actually
• 39:14
  inspire
• 39:16
  Michael
• 39:16
  Scott,
• 39:16
  I
• 39:17
  think
• 39:17
  the
• 39:17
  only
• 39:17
  one
• 39:18
  that
• 39:18
  I
• 39:18
  could
• 39:18
  earnestly
• 39:19
  say
• 39:19
  that
• 39:19
  you
• 39:20
  should
• 39:20
  try
• 39:20
  to
• 39:20
  emulate
• 39:21
  is
• 39:21
  Wayne
• 39:21
  Gretzky.
• 39:22
  Of
• 39:22
  course,
• 39:25
  my
• 39:26
  favorite
• 39:26
  Michael
• 39:26
  Scott
• 39:26
  quote
• 39:27
  is
• 39:27
  that
• 39:27
  you
• 39:27
  miss
• 39:28
  100%
• 39:28
  of
• 39:29
  the
• 39:29
  shots
• 39:29
  that
• 39:29
  you
• 39:29
  don't
• 39:29
  take.
• 39:30
  Wayne
• 39:31
  Gretzky,
• 39:31
  Michael
• 39:32
  Scott.
• 39:32
  That's
• 39:33
  pretty
• 39:33
  much
• 39:33
  all
• 39:34
  they
• 39:34
  say
• 39:34
  about.
• 39:36
  About
• 39:36
  him
• 39:36
  in
• 39:37
  the
• 39:37
  show.
• 39:37
  But
• 39:37
  I
• 39:37
  really
• 39:38
  wanted
• 39:38
  to
• 39:38
  make
• 39:38
  this
• 39:38
  collage.
• 39:41
  I'm
• 39:41
  not
• 39:41
  gonna
• 39:42
  go
• 39:42
  super
• 39:42
  in
• 39:43
  depth
• 39:43
  on
• 39:43
  how
• 39:43
  dominant
• 39:44
  Wayne
• 39:44
  Gretzky
• 39:45
  was
• 39:45
  for
• 39:45
  his
• 39:45
  entire
• 39:46
  career,
• 39:47
  but
• 39:47
  I
• 39:47
  could.
• 39:50
  Yeah,
• 39:51
  he
• 39:51
  is.
• 39:53
  He
• 39:53
  was
• 39:53
  a
• 39:54
  phenomenal
• 39:54
  talent
• 39:55
  in
• 39:55
  the
• 39:55
  sport.
• 39:56
  It
• 39:56
  boggles
• 39:57
  my
• 39:57
  mind
• 39:57
  every
• 39:57
  time
• 39:57
  I
• 39:58
  think
• 39:58
  about
• 39:58
  the
• 39:58
  fact
• 39:59
  that
• 39:59
  he
• 40:00
  would
• 40:00
  be
• 40:00
  the
• 40:01
  leading
• 40:01
  point
• 40:01
  scorer
• 40:03
  in
• 40:03
  hockey
• 40:04
  just
• 40:04
  based
• 40:04
  on
• 40:05
  his
• 40:05
  assists.
• 40:06
  Yep.
• 40:07
  And
• 40:07
  yet
• 40:07
  he
• 40:07
  was
• 40:08
  also
• 40:08
  the.
• 40:08
  The
• 40:09
  leading
• 40:09
  goal
• 40:09
  scorer
• 40:09
  for.
• 40:11
  For
• 40:11
  many
• 40:12
  years.
• 40:12
  Right
• 40:12
  up
• 40:12
  until
• 40:14
  last
• 40:15
  year.
• 40:15
  Yeah.
• 40:16
  Ridiculous.
• 40:17
  Absolutely
• 40:17
  ridiculous.
• 40:18
  Yes.
• 40:20
  Perhaps
• 40:21
  recently,
• 40:21
  you
• 40:22
  know,
• 40:22
  some.
• 40:23
  Some
• 40:23
  things
• 40:23
  have
• 40:23
  also
• 40:23
  come
• 40:23
  up
• 40:24
  that
• 40:24
  maybe
• 40:24
  he's
• 40:24
  not
• 40:24
  entirely
• 40:26
  somebody
• 40:26
  want
• 40:26
  to
• 40:26
  emulate
• 40:27
  also,
• 40:27
  but
• 40:28
  certainly
• 40:28
  as
• 40:29
  a
• 40:29
  hockey
• 40:29
  player,
• 40:29
  if
• 40:29
  you
• 40:30
  could
• 40:30
  be
• 40:30
  like
• 40:30
  Wayne
• 40:30
  Gretzky.
• 40:32
  Be
• 40:32
  like
• 40:32
  Wayne
• 40:32
  Gretzky.
• 40:33
  Yeah,
• 40:33
  if
• 40:33
  you.
• 40:34
  You
• 40:34
  know,
• 40:34
  if
• 40:34
  you
• 40:34
  can.
• 40:35
  Right,
• 40:35
  right.
• 40:35
  Sure.
• 40:36
  Just,
• 40:36
  you
• 40:36
  know,
• 40:36
  I
• 40:37
  recommend
• 40:38
  being
• 40:38
  the
• 40:38
  best
• 40:38
  at
• 40:38
  the
• 40:39
  world
• 40:39
  in
• 40:39
  whatever
• 40:40
  you
• 40:40
  try
• 40:40
  to
• 40:40
  do,
• 40:41
  if
• 40:41
  at
• 40:41
  all
• 40:41
  possible.
• 40:42
  Right.
• 40:42
  You
• 40:43
  know,
• 40:43
  if
• 40:43
  somebody
• 40:44
  gives
• 40:44
  you
• 40:44
  that
• 40:44
  option.
• 40:45
  Yeah,
• 40:46
  you
• 40:46
  take
• 40:46
  that
• 40:46
  option.
• 40:48
  All
• 40:48
  right,
• 40:48
  so
• 40:48
  then
• 40:49
  we
• 40:49
  will
• 40:50
  wrap
• 40:50
  up
• 40:50
  our
• 40:50
  conversation
• 40:51
  here.
• 40:52
  There's
• 40:53
  certainly,
• 40:53
  obviously,
• 40:53
  a
• 40:54
  lot
• 40:54
  more
• 40:54
  that
• 40:54
  could
• 40:54
  be
• 40:54
  said
• 40:54
  about
• 40:55
  the
• 40:55
  Office,
• 40:56
  a
• 40:57
  show
• 40:57
  again,
• 40:57
  that
• 40:57
  ran
• 40:58
  for
• 40:58
  six
• 40:58
  to
• 40:58
  nine
• 40:59
  seasons,
• 40:59
  depending
• 41:00
  on
• 41:00
  how
• 41:00
  one
• 41:01
  chooses
• 41:01
  to.
• 41:02
  To
• 41:02
  retcon
• 41:03
  reality.
• 41:05
  Or
• 41:05
  five,
• 41:06
  if
• 41:06
  you
• 41:06
  just
• 41:06
  want
• 41:06
  to
• 41:06
  count.
• 41:06
  Two,
• 41:07
  three,
• 41:07
  four,
• 41:07
  five.
• 41:08
  Yeah,
• 41:08
  you
• 41:09
  could.
• 41:09
  You
• 41:09
  could
• 41:09
  give
• 41:09
  the
• 41:09
  first
• 41:10
  one.
• 41:10
  I
• 41:11
  missed
• 41:11
  two.
• 41:12
  Fair.
• 41:14
  Yeah.
• 41:14
  So
• 41:14
  we're
• 41:15
  gonna.
• 41:15
  We're
• 41:15
  gonna
• 41:16
  wrap
• 41:16
  up
• 41:16
  here.
• 41:16
  Yeah,
• 41:17
  I
• 41:17
  do
• 41:17
  know.
• 41:17
  I
• 41:18
  think
• 41:18
  what
• 41:18
  our
• 41:18
  extra
• 41:19
  question
• 41:19
  should
• 41:19
  be.
• 41:20
  Unless.
• 41:20
  Okay,
• 41:21
  you
• 41:21
  do
• 41:21
  have
• 41:21
  one.
• 41:21
  I
• 41:22
  had
• 41:22
  one,
• 41:22
  but
• 41:22
  I.
• 41:23
  I
• 41:23
  would
• 41:23
  love
• 41:23
  to
• 41:23
  hear
• 41:23
  yours,
• 41:23
  because
• 41:24
  I'm
• 41:25
  not.
• 41:25
  Bonus.
• 41:26
  A
• 41:27
  bonus.
• 41:27
  Get
• 41:27
  a
• 41:27
  bonus.
• 41:28
  If
• 41:28
  you
• 41:28
  had
• 41:29
  to
• 41:29
  work
• 41:29
  from
• 41:30
  one
• 41:30
  of
• 41:30
  the
• 41:30
  Scranton
• 41:31
  Dunder
• 41:31
  Mifflin
• 41:32
  managers
• 41:33
  Which
• 41:34
  one
• 41:34
  would
• 41:34
  you
• 41:34
  choose?
• 41:35
  Oh,
• 41:35
  that's.
• 41:35
  Yeah,
• 41:35
  that's
• 41:35
  a
• 41:36
  better
• 41:36
  question
• 41:36
  than
• 41:36
  mine.
• 41:36
  So
• 41:37
  let's
• 41:37
  go
• 41:37
  with
• 41:37
  that
• 41:37
  one.
• 41:38
  Which.
• 41:38
  Which
• 41:38
  of
• 41:38
  the
• 41:39
  actual
• 41:39
  Dunder
• 41:40

• 41:41

• 41:43
  is
• 41:44
  the
• 41:44
  least
• 41:44
  objectionable?
• 41:45
  Yeah.
• 41:47
  All
• 41:47
  right,
• 41:47
  so
• 41:48
  stay.
• 41:48
  Stay
• 41:48
  tuned
• 41:49
  or

• 42:54
  These

  things
• 42:54
  are
• 42:55
  always
• 42:55
  a
• 42:55
  little
• 42:55
  bit.
• 42:55
  It
• 42:56
  was
• 42:56
  all
• 42:56
  three
• 42:56
  of
• 42:56
  us.
• 42:57
  Oh,
• 42:57
  it
• 42:57
  was.
• 42:57
  Oh,
• 42:57
  that's
• 42:57
  right.
• 42:58
  You've
• 42:58
  already
• 42:58

• 42:59
  So
• 42:59
  excellent.
• 42:59
  So
• 43:00
  we

  know.
• 43:00
  In
