- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: We're talking about jackwars OTA Number seven jackwars.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_00]: I think you're gonna have like three OTAs this week only one of them open to the media I will not be there got family stuff going on this week so boots on the ground there will be a lot of guys out there guys and gals
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: folks cover in this practice today and what I'm looking out for in this one, you know, thanks to expect, you know, with this practice and this week, even though you're not going to hear much from media about the following two practices after OTA number seven, which is again today,
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: This is going to be lighter work than last week.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think last week they went pretty hard considering the time of year it is.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: There's no pads, there's no fool hitting and things like that, right?
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: But they went after it pretty hard last week.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: Got some tough practices, long practices, not training camp practices.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: But there were some good practices for sure.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: where they were stressing the mentally and physically.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: This week is supposed to be more of like according to Liam Cohen, like a passing camp.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: It is kind of how he's put it and phrased it.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be all about the passing game both offensively and defensively, much less about the run game.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: shorter practices, not as intense, like today it's 9.15 to 10.40 a.m. where as the schedule had read for, you know, mandatory mini camp last week, 905 to 11 p.m. so schedule a little bit shorter, you will hear from Liam Cohen and Trevor Lawrence after the practice.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_00]: There will be some different players as well.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: And then there's a, uh,
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: coaches roundtable that I'm sure a lot of folks will be able to attend and post clips from that are in the media as well, but I won't be there today.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: But those are going to be the kind of scheduling and kind of what you're going to hear from media wise.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: But what I'm eye looking to hear from reports from out of this practice,
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: My biggest thing is like avoid the eye word at all costs.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully you don't have anything pop up there.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: That's just these next three days.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: This is it until training camp.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: So if you're going to avoid the eye word and get into training camp fairly healthy, again, you're obviously still trying to get Travis Hunter back, but he's supposed to be ready for the start of camp.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: He looks great.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: He ran 22.6 miles per hour the other day.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: They timed him.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: Colvin Lannon is one that you're probably gonna be a later in training camp, no official word, but Liam Cohen said that'll be in to camp a little bit.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: Jordan Lewis not really sure.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: You have Chris Rodriguez who's supposed to be ready for the start of camp.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: So if you can avoid anything else major, you'd be feeling pretty good, I think, overall with the way things stand.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: And then Brian Thomas Jr., he's been the story of the offseason so far.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: story for the jackwars like constantly in the news making the rounds with trade talks and different things since like right before the trade deadline last year and then it hasn't stopped but then now the narrative is shifted finally as we've gotten to see Brian Thomas Jr. actually on the field again no paths no risk of really getting you know.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: rocked out there by big safety coming over the middle or something like that, right?
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: But what we have seen is what we have seen so far and it has been excellent.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: It has been absolutely excellent from Brian Thomas Jr.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: over the course of OTA's mandatory mini camp and now back to OTA's, he's been incredible.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: And I said this to somebody the other day on the practice field.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_00]: And I've said it, I think I said it to Travis Holmes over at the Duval Dive.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: I'm at the point, I honestly think that BTJ might lead this team in receiving arts.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: And I know that might sound like hyperbole to some, but let's look at the facts.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: B.T.J.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: had an insane output as a rookie.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: He had a down year last year, and a down year, what was Brian Thomas Jr. able to do?
- 4:43[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, obviously, efficiency wise not great, but he missed time and he still had what?
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: How many yards?
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: Still had 728 receiving yards.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: If you take out the playoff game, you had just over 700 receiving yards in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 games.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_00]: So in 14 out of 17 games, he still had 7100 receiving yards.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: The guy has looked incredible.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: He's looked locked in, he sounds more mature, he has a more mature demeanor and more excited demeanor on the field right now.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: So I think what we saw is a rookie combined with the fact that even last year in a down year he still did some really good things and still put up some numbers.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: And now we're seeing him play right now, better than we've ever seen him play on the practice field.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: And we know the physical talent is undeniable.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: The guy's only 23 years old.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: He has a new newly renewed mindset.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just saying, I think he's going to lead the team in receiving arts.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: So I think he's going to lead the team in catches now.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: He could, but I feel like Jacobi is going to need more of an intermediate, short to intermediate target, really intermediate, middle of the field, things like that, out routes, but Parker Washington is going to be all over the field target.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: but the one guy who can get behind the defense down the sideline without any help, without any scheming, is Brian Thomas' new year.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: And so, I think he's gonna have a big year.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: I think he and Trevor have gotten it down now.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_00]: Is it too early to get all in on this?
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's too early.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: But again, combined with what we've seen throughout his young career, I know that resency bias, what have you done for me lately, but the guy is young.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: He's fired up to play this year.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: He's looking incredible.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: I'm in Ambrai and Tomachin.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: So that's the number one thing I'm looking to hear about today.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: Does he have another good practice?
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: Does he stack another one?
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: And this passing camp as Liam Cohen has put it.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: Does he stack up another one?
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I'll be looking for.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, won't Trevor Lawrence to continue to play well.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: Cohen has been complimentary of him.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: How he's handled this offseason and how he has been really
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: trying to be more aggressive pushing the ball down the field while also limiting turnovers and while we did see like a turnover in each of his first three practices Cohen said that he has not thrown many interceptions and the last couple practices we saw did not throw any interceptions so he's been really impressive I think this basal to have another big day don't know how much work they're going to get in the ground game but he's been awesome
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: jabar muhammed in this passing camp another player who's been awesome all throughout many camp in OTAs So these are the main players.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna be looking at but Obviously like I said, I'm not gonna be there.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: So when I say looking at it's trying to you know
- 8:06[SPEAKER_00]: go read John Shipley's work listen what he has to say if they do a prowler podcast him and go slow uh... following jamaul saint sear on twitter who does a great job with basically like play by play of all the different team drills uh... and i highly recommend y'all to go check out their work as well
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: They're not the only ones who do a great job, but I do always appreciate John's insight on what he sees at practice and Jamal just doing a great job giving you all the information that there is to be had from the team portion of drills that can be shared.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: So that's what I'll be doing.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_00]: Practice is getting ready to kick off here pretty soon by the time this uploads practice might be getting going But I do really appreciate y'all supporting the channel.
