- 0:00SPEAKER_01: Welcome back to Around the Pod.
- 0:02SPEAKER_01: We're here for a mini episode about the Pickleball World Cup that is at the end of this month in Da Nang, Vietnam.
- 0:07SPEAKER_01: I'm here with Michael Morel, Justin McLeod, Josh Cheer.
- 0:10SPEAKER_01: I'm Aaron Blitz.
- 0:12SPEAKER_01: A little bit about it.
- 0:13SPEAKER_01: There was a Team Australia team last year.
- 0:15SPEAKER_01: There was an open and a masters division.
- 0:17SPEAKER_01: This year we are sending more teams.
- 0:19SPEAKER_01: We've got an open, we've got an over 50s, over 60s, an under 18, and an under 14 team.
- 0:25SPEAKER_01: There's three males and three females per team with a captain as well, across obviously all those four.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: I think majority of the time it is gender doubles and mixed doubles, and then in the open some singles.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: I think in the masters, if they come a draw in the doubles, they have like a dream breaker situation.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: So I think singles was important.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: With that, like the teams, like the open men's, I think is stacked, and the open women's, like our open's team, I think could win it all.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: Keep in mind UPA contracted players or PPA US signed players cannot play this event this year.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: I believe next year that they can.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: So we've got players like Harry Brown, capable of the number one singles player in Australia right now.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: You've got Zach Rabovich, who's the Melbourne Thunder captain.
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: You've got Robert Sterling, who's coming off some finals appearances in PPA Asias.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: Um does mean amazing players to play against and play with.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: Um the Open Women, Sarah Burr, who played last year, Nicholas Schumann, and then we've got Selena Tarullia, who was your captain at NPL earlier this year.
- 1:21SPEAKER_01: That's mean she's coming off a PPA triple crown as well, which is amazing.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: And coached by Ben Coston, who's coached Danny Townsend, Sarah Dennehy, all of those guys.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: So um, let's talk about that team for a second.
- 1:34SPEAKER_01: I think that team's gonna do really well.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think obviously Australians haven't really seen Rob Sterling in a while, but um always been one of the most talented guys going around.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: Um, one of the tallest blokes, very quiet spoken, but yeah, on the court, just an assassin.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: Um and I think he'll he'll do really, really well in this event.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: Um big fan of Nicholas Schoonman.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: I think she's obviously one of our best prospects going around, but she's not really a prospect anymore.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: She's one of the best players we've got.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: Um, so yeah, she's gonna be amazing.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: And obviously, yeah, me playing um this season alongside Selena Tarullia, yeah, she's just a really, really solid player.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: And um, yeah, she'll do really, really well as well.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: Like, I think that whole team dynamic too.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: Like, you got Selena and Nicola who can play the left side really strong, but Selena and Nicola can both play the right as well.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: So it's really good for them, the mixed combos in that team.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: And and I think Sarah Burr obviously plays a lot of right side, she's a lefty.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: I think that's and the experience she had last year and the experience she has in pickleball, I think helps that team so much because every other player on this team is new to this format and representing Australia.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: Sarah Burr's done it before, and she's done it at MLP as well, like a couple months ago.
- 2:48SPEAKER_01: She represented Team Australia there.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: Um, the 50 plus team, that's when you got Tony Field, Ivan Stride, Tech T, two New South Wales guys and a Queenslander.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: No Victorians in the 50 plus team, but you've got Naomi Amokawa, is that how you pronounce it?
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: Um Belinda Crane and Angela Green, like one from Tassie as well, Mike Newell coaching, who's an OG.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: He ran the very first Australian championships in 2019 and has been around for a while and a very well-respected coach as well, up there with Ben Coston.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: Um, 60 plus men, you've got Graham Clement, Brad Middleton, Martin Simkins, um, all Queensland, New South Wales based as well.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: And the 60 plus women, you've got Karen Denman, Rosa Morris, and Sharon Tyndall Ford.
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: I know Karen Denman, she's actually been dominating in the 50 plus category as well at PPA events with Belinda Crane.
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: So, and she's in the 60 plus category.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: That's just how good she is.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: Well, it's Josh's favourite category.
- 3:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the 60 plus.
- 3:47SPEAKER_01: She is going to be sponsoring that division.
- 3:49SPEAKER_01: Well, you're you're looking at playing with Rose Morris, aren't you?
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: I am playing with Rosa Morris at the APC.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: See, it's not a lie, he does actually love 60 plus.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: I actually love 60 pluses.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: But yeah, no, obviously, firstly, congratulations to all those names.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: But um, yeah, just going back to the I think it was the 50 plus, we had Tech T and Ivan Stride, just two legends.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: Um I didn't get the last guy.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: Tony Field.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: Tony Field.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: I actually haven't met Tony Field, so um obviously a really, really strong player.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: But yeah, Tech and Ivan are just yeah, warriors of the New South Wales front.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: Um, and then for me, uh there was Ange Green as well, just a really lovely lady, and also just a really strong competitor and probably the best player in Tasmania at the moment.
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: And that's me, Tony Field um was, I believe, a captain in the MLP Masters last year, too.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: And I think Ivan Stride was one of them too.
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: He's probably one of the top master singles players in the country.
- 4:44SPEAKER_01: Uh, huge reason why he was selected.
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: And then tech T, he another really good player too.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: And I believe he played for Team Australia last year.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: And you also bet you he's playing mixed doubles.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: Uh, not mixed doubles.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: He's playing split age with me in uh APC.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's huge.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, big.
- 5:01unknown: Yeah.
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: I'll be playing with Daryl White at that one, but he'll be representing Team USA at this event.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: Um, and then yeah, Belinda Crane, who I mentioned the 50 plus, that's meant she's winning majority of the PPA masters events right now.
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: Like, it's mean winning everything.
- 5:14SPEAKER_01: I'm playing the split age with her at Split uh at APC as well, which I'm super excited about.
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: Just riding coattails left right and I like it.
- 5:21SPEAKER_02: That's what any of the talking about shoulders being so.
- 5:23SPEAKER_02: That's how you got to 2.6.
- 5:25SPEAKER_02: 100%.
- 5:25SPEAKER_02: I'm taking notes, don't you worry.
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: And then um, I forgot to mention with the 60 plus team, Coco Le Coco is coaching that team who used to be a Melbourne Maverick.
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: Uh Tina's coaching the under-14s team as well.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: And so that's mean a lot of ex-Melbourne Mavs and a lot of really good coaches out there too, and and some of the top female coaches in the country as well, which is super exciting.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: Um, and that I guess brings us to the juniors.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: This means there's a new category.
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: People say we haven't had enough juniors for a while now, but I feel like the under-18 category is stacked.
- 5:55SPEAKER_01: Like a couple of names here have beaten us recently in matches.
- 5:59SPEAKER_01: Um, and that just shows you the depth in the young field.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: If you think about the US, a lot of these top junior players are some of the best in the world right now.
- 6:06SPEAKER_01: So you've got Oliver Dobson and WA, really good player.
- 6:09SPEAKER_01: You know, I haven't seen him much in the Eastern tournaments this year, but he is got to be probably the top one of the top 18-year-olds.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: Lockie Donnelly, who we played against the 4.5 plus, we played them separately.
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: Um, top player, and Ryan Hassini, who plays in Victoria, which you two have played against or seen him play.
- 6:27SPEAKER_01: Seen him play, yeah.
- 6:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we commentated his game against you guys.
- 6:29SPEAKER_02: Um, yeah, he's he's an absolute weapon.
- 6:32SPEAKER_02: Like, I didn't realize he was so young.
- 6:34SPEAKER_02: He's what 16 and he's just him and he's tearing up pros left, right, and center.
- 6:37SPEAKER_02: So he's he's one to watch.
- 6:40SPEAKER_03: I mean, there was a he was formidable on court.
- 6:43SPEAKER_03: Um, yeah, great presence.
- 6:45SPEAKER_03: I mean, if he's playing like that at 16, what's he gonna be like at 17?
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: I mean they're just they're just so scary, like at that age where they're just they're not actually scared of anyone, so they're happy to hit three shots.
- 6:59SPEAKER_01: I remember like we played that Eastern Indoor tournament.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: Like he was playing on the right, I was playing on the left.
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: He he was so good at speeding up off his backhand, off dead dinks, and I really couldn't do much with it, or I couldn't get that ball back down.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: And because he's a lefty two, it makes him unique, it's hard to sometimes play against, and he's got a really aggressive play style.
- 7:15SPEAKER_01: You you look at him and you think, Wow, it's he's not gonna hit me off the court, but he he can hit harder than anyone on the court, which uh which is.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: I think Lockie Lockie's just one of those guys that his doubles game is so refined now, and um yeah, he doesn't really have many weaknesses.
- 7:32SPEAKER_00: I think he's just got a really controlled game, but he's got all the shots, um, and he's gonna be probably one of the best um prospects we'll have for a long time.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: Um, alongside obviously Ashton Chan, who um I'm not sure if he signed up for this event, but is one of the best prospects as well.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: And yeah, obviously those four names are probably the biggest ones in their junior space.
- 7:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so congratulations to those guys.
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: And you talk about some other juniors that I don't fit in this category now, like Nick Nicholas Schoonman, she's only 18, 19 years old.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: That's mean she's playing the open team now.
- 8:06SPEAKER_01: She's been so good since she was 16.
- 8:09SPEAKER_01: Um, you've got Lucas Pasco, I mean he's only 19 as well.
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: That's mean so many of these guys are coming through.
- 8:15SPEAKER_01: And like talk about the females here.
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: We've got two Victorians.
- 8:18SPEAKER_01: We've got Aria Hennaire.
- 8:20SPEAKER_01: Obviously, she's been drafted to the Melbourne Um Thunder, which is really exciting.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: You got to play mixed doubles with on the weekend.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: I mean, she's only 16 and she's giving it to everyone, and she can play both sides.
- 8:30SPEAKER_01: She's really exciting.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: You got memory, Lilanoa.
- 8:34SPEAKER_00: Um also probably gonna be playing a lot of mixed doubles with me soon.
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, exactly.
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: Memory legend.
- 8:39SPEAKER_01: Memory night.
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: I've I've played mixed doubles with her at Victorian Championships like two, three years ago, like when she was 15 and 16.
- 8:46SPEAKER_01: That's mean that she's been good for a while and she's only getting better and better, and especially as she leaves school.
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: And you've got Indiana Heather Pereira, who's a twin.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: I think she's got a younger sister too.
- 8:55SPEAKER_01: They both play together, but they're up in Queensland and they get coached by Nay Pinkerton, who's the coach of this team.
- 9:00SPEAKER_01: Um, so really exciting junior team, and I think they are gonna do really well.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and I think obviously the opportunities for Aria coming up soon are just so exciting.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: Um, a lot of call-ups to MPL Pro Division, uh, obviously now drafted to Melbourne Thunder, which is super cool, but also yeah, now playing for Australia.
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: Like, I think all these things are gonna add to her experience, and she's just growing as a player.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: Um, and she's obviously got Coco there, who is her actual coach.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: Um, and yeah, that'll do her wonders.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: And Memory, yeah, her game has evolved a lot in the last couple of months, and she's playing really, really good pickleball.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: So, I mean she plays MPL Pro Division, and Memory's one of few females that hits the ball out of the air a lot, which is like Danny Townsend would always do, and that made her really unique and special.
- 9:48SPEAKER_01: So I think Memory's got a bright future as well.
- 9:50SPEAKER_01: Um, you've got the 14 and under boys and girls who are new names.
- 9:55SPEAKER_01: There's one name in here that we probably all know, but the rest are new to me.
- 9:59SPEAKER_01: Um, like we got Oliver Novick, he actually wins a lot of the PPA junior events up in Queensland, but you got Brody Hopp, you got Joshua Davy, Brody Hopp being Victorian, which is super exciting.
- 10:10SPEAKER_01: Then you've got Natalie Chan.
- 10:11SPEAKER_01: I don't know if there's any relation there with Ashton Chan, but from New South Wales?
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 10:16SPEAKER_01: Potentially, I think she's Victorian.
- 10:18SPEAKER_01: And then you got Gia Lee and then Angeline McLean.
- 10:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Angie.
- 10:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so Jay McLean's daughter.
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolute legend.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: Um, another quiet one, but um just a weapon on court.
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: And yeah, she's been playing for a while and has always dominated the junior circuit, but yeah, knows the game so well.
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: And I'm guessing Jay will be there, and he's obviously one of the first guys to get me involved in pickleball.
- 10:42SPEAKER_00: So um all the up to Angie and the McLean family.
- 10:45SPEAKER_01: Get super excited, and then Tina Bianchi, she's the one coaching that team.
- 10:49SPEAKER_01: You say the the under-18s, was it under 18s and under 14s or something?
- 10:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah, there's two different junior divisions.
- 10:56SPEAKER_02: They're the they're the new divisions heading into this World Cup, is that right?
- 11:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, because I think with the there were so many good juniors that are under 14, which are probably just not old enough or mature enough to play that little bit older.
- 11:07SPEAKER_01: Because if you think about it too, like Annalie Waters is only 18 herself or 19.
- 11:12SPEAKER_01: She's been playing for years and years too.
- 11:14SPEAKER_01: So there's there's a difference between like a 17-year-old girl and like those 12 and 13-year-old girls.
- 11:19SPEAKER_01: So you've got to give an opportunity across the board to all these kids that are representing Team Australia.
- 11:24SPEAKER_02: I read it's really good, like getting getting the youth involved.
- 11:26SPEAKER_02: Like I was literally saying to you guys before I took my son Colt down to Eastern and had a bit of a hit with him, and it's it's almost like you're starting to see like you know, they're not going straight to tennis or football or something, you know.
- 11:38SPEAKER_02: Pickleball's now an option.
- 11:39SPEAKER_02: It's good that there's a World Cup like this for for juniors to actually strive towards.
- 11:43SPEAKER_02: So yeah, it's actually really exciting.
- 11:45SPEAKER_02: That's a sport I wish was around when I was when I was a kid.
- 11:48SPEAKER_03: So I mean it wasn't a winning.
- 11:51SPEAKER_02: It was around, it wasn't nobody.
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: No one knew about it really in Australia, anyways.
- 11:55SPEAKER_01: Well, Haim Shenanny have been talking about like as bat tennis um on the Hamish and Annie podcast, and that they got Tennis Australia involved in that.
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: But um, look, what's crazy about this event is it's first place for the opens team,$25,000 US for the winning team.
- 12:09SPEAKER_01: Second place,$10,000 US, then five and then$2,500.
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: Senior division, it drops down to$5,000 US for the team.
- 12:17SPEAKER_01: So you're probably not going there to for a money-making exercise.
- 12:20SPEAKER_01: But the team Australia last year, the Masters, I think they they don't they dominated, but they happen to play the US team, like the quarterfinals, though just got unlucky with the seeding.
- 12:30SPEAKER_01: So I think I know Mike Newell's helping out with the whole World Cup this year, but I think they are trying to fix that seeding system because even our Australian team last year, they played the US team in like the round of 16 or something, coming out of pool play.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: And it's like, well, we probably had one of the better teams there compared to we're probably a lot more mature as a country when it comes to pickleball compared to a lot of these other countries representing um their nations at the World Cup.
- 12:54SPEAKER_01: Um, and what's really good about this event, too, is that pickleball Australia is actually helping support these players.
- 13:00SPEAKER_01: So I think the players only have to spend money on their flights, basically, accommodation, tournamentary fees, their meal allowance, airport event transfers, and their team uniforms are all covered by Pickleball Australia.
- 13:12SPEAKER_02: So I think that's Gee, shout out Pickleball Australia.
- 13:14SPEAKER_02: That's impressive.
- 13:15SPEAKER_01: That's a huge shout out.
- 13:17SPEAKER_01: Like if you think about the expense, even for these juniors to go overseas, because you've probably got parents involved too that have to go from like a child safety point of view, too.
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: So it's like, well, thank God Pickleball Australia's funding these, not just the pros that are in the open division, but some of these players and the masters and the juniors.
- 13:35SPEAKER_01: And and I know probably by the time this is released, pickleball Victoria is going to help subsidize some of these Victorian players to going to this event.
- 13:43SPEAKER_01: Um, that munt that amount will be disclosed at a later date.
- 13:46SPEAKER_01: But um, I think that's really good for us.
- 13:48SPEAKER_01: Like I know part of our strategic plan of pickleball Victoria is we want to support our juniors, our masters, and even the pro players that are representing Australia because at the end of the day, they're representing Victoria as well, which we're all super proud of.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: In terms of all that, like Aaron, you were on the selection committee.
- 14:05SPEAKER_00: Were there were there any like names that might have been a bit unlucky to miss out?
- 14:10SPEAKER_01: There was definitely like for some of these categories, if there was four or five ladies in one category or division that should like to mean potentially could all go and represent Australia, but it comes down to fine margins and team compatibility and what the selection panel picks.
- 14:26SPEAKER_01: Like, I wish we could send everyone, but it's not always possible.
- 14:29SPEAKER_01: Um, definitely across a couple of divisions we had that.
- 14:33SPEAKER_01: Some were pretty easy when you think about some of the big names that were here.
- 14:37SPEAKER_01: And you've potentially got some players that put their name in, but then have taken their name out at a later date, too, that probably should have been in the squads as well.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: And that's just for various reasons.
- 14:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I did uh pull my name out um just recently.
- 14:49SPEAKER_02: So yeah, thanks, thanks for mentioning that.
- 14:53SPEAKER_03: Hey, but we'll take into account all these tournament results and uh team don't have no.
- 14:58SPEAKER_02: But that that that also brings me to the other question is uh, how does one enter?
- 15:02SPEAKER_02: Like what's the eligibility criteria here?
- 15:05SPEAKER_02: Can anyone just enter, or is it is it sort of you've got to be a certain duper level?
- 15:09SPEAKER_02: What's what's the go?
- 15:11SPEAKER_01: Um, I think what's not like a certain duper level, but you had to be a pickleball Australian member and be playing up events in Australia.
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: Like I think there was definitely some international Australians that probably have not played any events here that put their name in, but it's hard to kind of give them the nod or have them part of the selection if they haven't helped with Australian pickleball, if you know what I mean.
- 15:33SPEAKER_01: Like they haven't been here.
- 15:34SPEAKER_01: Um, so a lot of these players, all the players on this list have been playing events in Australia.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: I know Rob Sterling's been in Asia for the last two, three, or six months, but majority of his pickleball has been in Australia and he's been dominating in MLP as well in Australia last year.
- 15:49SPEAKER_01: So I think for all these players, pickleball Australia member have played some events here and supported Australian pickleball, which it's the people you want representing Team Australia at the World Cup.
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 16:03SPEAKER_01: Well, you had something you wanted to ask all of us in terms of Australians.
- 17:22SPEAKER_02: I did, yeah.
- 17:23SPEAKER_02: Speaking of the theme, uh Aussies.
- 17:25SPEAKER_02: Um I want to have a bit of a draft here of top four.
- 17:30SPEAKER_02: We're gonna have four each.
- 17:31SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 17:32SPEAKER_02: Top Australian athletes.
- 17:34SPEAKER_02: So we're picking a pickleball world cup, a pickable world cup team out of the best Aussie.
- 17:39SPEAKER_03: What's the four split?
- 17:40SPEAKER_03: Is it two men, two women?
- 17:42SPEAKER_02: Correct.
- 17:43SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 17:43SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 17:44SPEAKER_02: Um, so obviously we'll go in level of duper.
- 17:48SPEAKER_02: Is that how we the highest duper?
- 17:50SPEAKER_02: So I'm gonna number one draft.
- 17:55SPEAKER_00: I reckon I'm there.
- 17:58SPEAKER_02: Actually, Josh has just checked.
- 17:59SPEAKER_02: He's higher than you.
- 18:00SPEAKER_02: Is he?
- 18:01SPEAKER_02: He's a 6.2 now.
- 18:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, 6.2.
- 18:04SPEAKER_01: Senior George Ward.
- 18:05SPEAKER_01: We'll let Josh go first anyway.
- 18:06SPEAKER_01: Wait, so Snake Draft, yeah.
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: Snake draft, yeah.
- 18:09SPEAKER_00: All right.

- 21:44SPEAKER_01: More than Ian.
- 21:45SPEAKER_01: More than Thorpe.
- 21:45SPEAKER_01: I think so.
- 21:46SPEAKER_02: Well, there you go.
- 21:47SPEAKER_02: I've got two of the two of the best there.

- 22:17SPEAKER_01: Kilda Football Club, and he was really good.
- 22:20SPEAKER_01: Played a lot of tennis, got to play pickleball with him, and we still chat occasionally because he's always kind of keen to play some pickleball when I bumped into him at the football last year.
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: He's like a pickleball guy, but yeah, he was really good.
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: Um just ran around and it was a lot of fun.
- 22:34SPEAKER_01: And that's me.
- 22:34SPEAKER_01: I think he'd be a great athlete for pickleball.
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: It's good.
- 22:37SPEAKER_01: Australian.
- 22:39SPEAKER_00: I've got to wrap it up.
- 22:41SPEAKER_00: Tim Cahill.

- 22:49SPEAKER_00: That's all I need.
- 22:51SPEAKER_02: That's honestly all I need.
- 22:53SPEAKER_02: It's not a bad pick.
- 22:54SPEAKER_02: I really thought you were gonna go with Stephen Bradbury, actually.
- 22:56SPEAKER_02: I don't know why.
- 22:56SPEAKER_02: Just I mean, coming into the end.
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: That's why I thought you were going for.
- 23:01SPEAKER_01: He would have a lot of like banter to like chirp.
- 23:04SPEAKER_03: I feel like he's like his spirit athlete.
- 23:08SPEAKER_03: Who?
- 23:09SPEAKER_03: Tim Gale.
- 23:10SPEAKER_03: No, Brad Bryce.
- 23:11SPEAKER_03: Bradbury.
- 23:18SPEAKER_01: Wait till you want to fall over on the pickleball court.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: Are we happy with our teams?

- 23:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:40SPEAKER_01: Let's mean that's an athletic team.
- 23:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 23:42SPEAKER_00: I've got Barty, I've got uh Jess Fox, I've got Tim Cahill, and I've got Leighton.
- 23:50SPEAKER_00: That's a good team.
- 23:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but that that's that's pretty stacked having two former world number one tennis players in there.
- 23:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's not bad.
- 23:58SPEAKER_02: It's okay.
- 23:59SPEAKER_02: It's okay.
- 24:00SPEAKER_02: It's not quite the 3.62 part, but it's okay.
- 24:02SPEAKER_02: But they're all right.
- 24:04SPEAKER_02: Um what have I got?
- 24:05SPEAKER_02: I've got uh Patty Thrills, uh, Emma McKeon, Thorpe.

- 24:19SPEAKER_03: I had uh Oscar Piastri, uh Tom Lanovich, Demon, and Steph Rice.
- 24:27SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think that's a good team.
- 24:29SPEAKER_00: Right, who's winning?
- 24:31SPEAKER_00: I'm pretty biased.
- 24:32SPEAKER_00: I think I still win.
- 24:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think with Laden, all that.
- 24:35SPEAKER_01: If I got Nick Kiros, he'll be massive in the men's battles and the mix.
- 24:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, look, I'm just I'm just gonna put it out there.
- 24:40SPEAKER_02: He's just not gonna try that hard.
- 24:45SPEAKER_01: Maybe for pickle, maybe not for tennis.
- 24:47SPEAKER_01: He's got some uh investment in pickleball.
- 24:49SPEAKER_01: He needs to need to do paddle.
- 24:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 24:53SPEAKER_02: Face of the pickler.
- 24:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you better believe that's a padlin.
- 24:59SPEAKER_01: All right, well, maybe put in the comments or send us a message which team you think is the best.
- 25:03SPEAKER_01: Um, I think honestly, I think prop I reckon cheers.

- 25:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I reckon they're good at the kitchen line.
- 25:19SPEAKER_01: And we're not gonna give Justin the satisfaction of telling him because he's already very happy with the 3.6 duper.
- 25:26SPEAKER_01: So uh I'll see you next episode.
