- 0:02SPEAKER_02: Hello everyone.
- 0:04SPEAKER_02: Welcome back to another great episode of Crushing Strongholds.
- 0:07SPEAKER_02: This is a podcast where we turn pain into power, trauma into triumph, and a place where we get to expose the lives of the enemy.
- 0:15SPEAKER_02: And how do we do that?
- 0:16SPEAKER_02: We do that by equipping believers with the truth and the grace and the love of Jesus Christ.
- 0:21SPEAKER_02: And that's what this podcast is all about.
- 0:23SPEAKER_02: It's how we how we just conquer and and and grab a hold of strongholds that are no longer necessary in our lives and we just crush them.
- 0:32SPEAKER_02: And so today I'm excited because I have another guest, and I'm bringing her back because we are going to start a mini-series.
- 0:39SPEAKER_02: And so today we're going to bring Trish back for um our second episode in the series.
- 0:45SPEAKER_02: I'm not sure how long the series is going to go for.
- 0:47SPEAKER_02: We'll just see how, you know, wherever God leads us.
- 0:50SPEAKER_02: Um and I'm going to let her go into that.
- 0:52SPEAKER_02: So whatever, you know, um becomes of that, that's where we want to lead this into.
- 0:56SPEAKER_02: So welcome in, Trish.
- 0:58SPEAKER_02: Thank you for coming back with us.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: Hi.
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: So um when I was speaking on the last one, I was talking about the door.
- 1:07SPEAKER_01: And um I was like, oh, I have more to say about the door.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: And so um it was about my dad.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: So I had written this poem, and the poem has to do with you make a better door than a window.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: So I I briefly mentioned it in the last podcast.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: And um so my poem is to my dad.
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: He I've never I never even read it to him, but the Lord knew, and it was kind of like a it's almost like a prayer.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: When I do poems, it's kind of like a prayer, and it's like, you know, I I want this to happen, you know.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: And so it's called a better door than a window.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: And I I put, open your eyes, look and see.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: You say I make a better door than a window.
- 1:52SPEAKER_01: I ask, will you come play with me?
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: You say I make I made this.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: I say it I look wait.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: You say you make a better door than a window.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: Look, I made this for you.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: You say you make a better door than a window.
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: TV is your idol pushing me aside, all I want is you to see see me for f for me to be proud of me, so my tears well up in my eyes, but still I try day by day.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: I will never give up loving him.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: Then bravely I show him my school project.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: Move, you make a better door than a window.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: Oh, such pain in my heart.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: As my smile fades and shoulders drop, as I slowly walk away, I take a breath and walk away.
- 2:42SPEAKER_01: Buried in sadness under my covers, I wish I could sleep.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: Every year I seek his love only to be rejected countless times.
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: One more time I ask you make a better door than wind window.
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: Attempt to see to be seen, to be heard, only to hear it again.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: You make a better door than a window.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: Why don't you want to see me?
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: That's it.
- 3:08SPEAKER_01: I'm shutting this door for good this time.
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: No more no more looking past me or through me.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: My mind screams I'm not a window.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: Hello?
- 3:22SPEAKER_01: Do you hear me?
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: I'm not a window.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: Um quiet trying to mi um trying to make quit trying to make me one.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: I'm not a window.
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: You see, I've always been a door.
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: Why do you want to s want me to be a window?
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: At least you can see a door and through it, so I would rather be a door than a window.
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: Would you like to know what's inside the door?
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: She's the true incorruptible beauty inside.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: She is daring, devoted, faithful, obedient, loving, kind, wise, long-suffering, hard working, promised, blessed by God, and chosen.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: A mother of many, and is alive in Christ.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: She is precious, worth more than many rubies or jewels.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: I wrote this down, so I have to change my page.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: Inside inside her are many treasures.
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: She is a light, a city on a hill not to be hidden.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: Dad, I'm a door, open it.
- 4:34SPEAKER_01: And see the real me, the daughter of God, made me to be an open door.
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: Don't you know her?
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: I do make a better door than a window.
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: I guess you always knew.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: So this was a poem from my dad.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: I never read it to him because you know it was just something he said, and I think he thought it was a funny thing to say, but he was always watching TV.
- 4:57SPEAKER_01: And um, even there was another time where he said it to my son, and that's when I jumped, grabbed my son, and I was so upset, and I didn't talk to them for nine years.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: That was the nine years I didn't talk to my parents because of that comment, you know, and I was like, he said it to me, now he's doing it to my son.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna let my child be abused, you know.
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: And to me, it was just a mean thing to say, and I just wanted his attention, you know.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: And so with that being said, um I I went to this camp, like I talked about in the other podcasts.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: I went to this camp and I I went to this prayer area, this prayer room, and um there's there was um all my friends left and there was a door, and the door said, Holy Spirit, welcome here.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: And I go in the door, and there's all this beautiful graffiti in there.
- 5:51SPEAKER_01: And um I I I stayed in there for a very long time and people were looking for me, you know.
- 5:57SPEAKER_01: And I was talking to God and asking him how he made me, and he showed me feet, baby feet, and I I started, where did you start making me?
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: Where did what was your favorite thing about me?
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: And he told me my feet, and that our feet are to carry the good news wherever we go.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: We carry the good news of Christ.
- 6:15SPEAKER_01: So God has been showing me all these little love notes, you know, along the way.
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: So I'm coming down the hill, and my sister calls, and my sister is freaking out, and she's like, Trish, Trish, dad's in the hospital.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: And this was one of the many times that he went in the hospital because he had a pacemaker and he had heart issues, he had a lot of medical issues.
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: And um the first time he almost passed away, it had taken 17 years before he actually passed away.
- 6:45SPEAKER_01: So I got 17 years with my dad after I forgave him.
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: So in these 17 years, you know, I was still wanting him to see me, but he still was, you know, kind of doing what not really seeing me, you know.
- 7:02SPEAKER_01: And so um my sister goes, You're not gonna believe this, Trish.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: I said, What?
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: She goes, Dad, I thought he saw you.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: And I said, What do you mean?
- 7:15SPEAKER_01: She goes, He saw you standing at the door in the hospital.
- 7:20SPEAKER_01: And he said, Trish, Trish, come in, come in.
- 7:24SPEAKER_01: I see her.
- 7:24SPEAKER_01: She's right there, she's at the door, she's at the door.
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: Look at her.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: Oh, she's so beautiful.
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: Look at how pretty.
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: Look at oh my goodness, she's just glowing.
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: Like to tell her to come here, you know.
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: And so, in a way, I think that my um prayer was answered.
- 7:40SPEAKER_01: That God was showing me that, hey, look, I'm showing your dad who you are in me.
- 7:46SPEAKER_01: I'm showing him the incorruptible beauty, the poem that you wrote.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: This is what I'm showing your dad, you know, and I was like, wow, and they and they thought, you know, he was Lulu, you know, and I really feel like God was showing it to him, you know.
- 8:02SPEAKER_01: So that's what I was gonna I missed seeing the last podcast.
- 8:07SPEAKER_01: And then um, you know, there's the other door where um I was 13 years old and my mom threw me outside.
- 8:15SPEAKER_01: And I was uh, you know, I didn't have clothes on.
- 8:19SPEAKER_01: She made me beg to come in, and I was just sitting at the door begging to come in.
- 8:25SPEAKER_01: And that that brings me to a lot of scripture, and it makes me think about, you know, the 10 virgins, how you know, um, five are wise and five were unwise, and you know, they're banging on some are banging on the door in the end.
- 8:39SPEAKER_01: But I have some scriptures, you know, and um uh one of them is in John 10, 7 through 9.
- 8:47SPEAKER_01: If you look it up, you can read it for yourself.
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: Um, Jesus identifies himself as a door of the sheep, he is the only way to salvation.
- 8:58SPEAKER_01: The next one, I'm just paraphrasing these.
- 9:00SPEAKER_01: Um, the next one is John 14 6.
- 9:03SPEAKER_01: It says, I'm the way, the truth, and the life.
- 9:06SPEAKER_01: No one comes to the Father except through him.
- 9:09SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 9:10SPEAKER_01: And there's also in John 10, it says, Um, you know, um, the enemy comes to kill, still, and destroy, but uh I have come to give life, right?
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: In abundance, you know, so he is life, he is the abundance, he is the door.
- 9:28SPEAKER_02: Everlasting that scripture says everlasting, so it's that's where it brings you into not just here on earth, but eternal.
- 9:36SPEAKER_02: I love that scripture because I love the word everlasting because it doesn't stop here with us, it continues on through eternity.
- 9:43SPEAKER_02: But go ahead, I just wanted to throw that in there with you.
- 9:45unknown: Yeah.
- 9:45SPEAKER_01: I like that you mentioned that because you know everybody always says YOLO, you only live once.
- 9:49SPEAKER_01: Well, no, you can live twice.
- 9:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you know, everlasting.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: Once here on earth, but everlasting.
- 9:56SPEAKER_01: So where do you want to be in your everlasting?
- 9:59SPEAKER_01: Um, the next one is 1 Corinthians 16 9.
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: Paul speaks of a wide door for the effective work to spread the gospel.
- 10:08SPEAKER_01: Um, then there is Revelation 3.8, the church of Philadelphia.
- 10:14SPEAKER_01: Um, he said, I have set before you an open door which no one can shut.
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: This is the divine opportunity that can never be taken away.
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: This is eternity.
- 10:25SPEAKER_01: So he he has this door open for us.
- 10:28SPEAKER_01: Then in Revelation 3.20, he says, Behold, I stand at the door and knock.
- 10:33SPEAKER_01: If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come into him and eat with him, and he with me.
- 10:41SPEAKER_01: This is Christ's desire and intimate, very personal relationship with him.
- 10:48SPEAKER_01: We have the key to open the door of our heart or not.
- 10:52SPEAKER_01: He gives us a new heart also in Ezekiel 37.
- 10:55SPEAKER_01: So he says he will take our hard hearts out and he will give us a new heart.
- 11:01SPEAKER_01: So I believe even in our hard heart, he is knocking at the door of our heart, and it's up to us to open the door of our heart.
- 11:08SPEAKER_01: We have the key to our heart.
- 11:10SPEAKER_01: We can let anything inside of it that we want.
- 11:13SPEAKER_01: We, you know, like there's, you know, all the things of the world, just think about it, you know, drinking, drugs, whatever we can do, uh, TV, you know, video games, anything can be an idol that can put us because the thing is, is God is a jealous God.
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: And it's about an intimate relationship with him.
- 11:36SPEAKER_01: So he wants to come in and dine with you, he wants to come in and have a relationship with you.
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: And when you start reading the word and getting more to know, you know, you know him more, then he starts speaking to you in these little subtle ways, and these thoughts come to your mind.
- 11:52SPEAKER_01: You're like, I know that did not come from me, you know, these little ideas, you know, and it's really amazing because recently he told me I was I was listening to a song, and it was a psalm of David, I believe it was Psalm 23, and I was listening to the song, and I'm in my car, and the Lord was showing me that my husband is the seventh son.
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: He he's the seventh born in his family, not the seventh son, but the seventhborn.
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: And um, King David was also the seventh born in his family, and he, my husband's a worshiper, and so God was showing me that you know, a lot of times he goes through certain things because he's a lot, he has a he's a man after God's own heart.
- 12:39SPEAKER_01: So then God shows me these things and he um has me speak them to people like, look, God is showing me you're a man after his own heart.
- 12:48SPEAKER_01: And you know, ever since I've known him, he's always been a worshiper.
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: He sings all every day.
- 12:53SPEAKER_01: He comes home after work and he sings, and it's like wow, I'm so amazed with that, to be honest, because when I'm having a stinky day, I'm very pouty, you know.
- 13:06SPEAKER_01: But I think God gave me my husband because I need that, I need someone to sing over me, you know.
- 13:15SPEAKER_01: Um, so then there's another one in Isaiah 60, verse 11.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: Uh, this verse speaks about the gates of the city being open, um, continue, continually allowing for the wealth of the nations to flow in, prosperity and access.
- 13:34SPEAKER_01: Um, then there is Matthew 7, 7.
- 13:37SPEAKER_01: I love this one.
- 13:38SPEAKER_01: It says, Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, and knock, and the door will be open to you.
- 13:44SPEAKER_01: This is about prayer, seeking his will, um, his intervention and communication.
- 13:50SPEAKER_01: So you seek in him with all your heart, you know.
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: And then Isaiah 22, 22, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 4, 2s.
- 14:01SPEAKER_01: Um, I will give the key the key to the house of David, the highest position in the royal court.
- 14:08SPEAKER_01: When he opens doors, no one will be able to shut, um, to close them.
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: When he closes doors, no one will be able to open them.
- 14:18SPEAKER_01: So this brings me back to the five wise and the five unwise, uh, you know, not keeping their oil lamps filled.
- 14:27SPEAKER_01: So then we go to Revelation 4.1.
- 14:32SPEAKER_01: Then I looked and I saw a door standing open in heaven, and the same voice I had heard before um, I had heard before he spoke to me.
- 14:43SPEAKER_01: Um, like it spoke to me like a trumpet blast.
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: The voice said, Come here, I will show you what must happen after this.
- 14:55SPEAKER_01: So um I thought that was pretty amazing.
- 14:59SPEAKER_02: Um what was that address um in Ezekiel?
- 15:03SPEAKER_02: You said Ezekiel, but I didn't know.
- 15:07SPEAKER_01: Ezekiel 37.
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: Uh this one was Revelation 4.1.
- 15:12SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 15:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I got that one, but I when you said Ezekiel, I didn't catch the address on it, so I was trying to keep uh take some notes.
- 15:20SPEAKER_01: Oh, good.
- 15:20SPEAKER_01: Um and then Acts um 5 19.
- 15:25SPEAKER_01: Uh the angel of the Lord opened the gate of the of the jail and brought them out.
- 15:33SPEAKER_01: Now this was about the I think it was the guys in prison, and the angels came.
- 15:40SPEAKER_01: I think it was Silas and Paul.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: You can't rem I can't remember exactly, but anyway, if you read Acts 5, you'll see it all.
- 15:47SPEAKER_01: But the Lord he sent an angel of the Lord to open the gate.
- 15:51SPEAKER_01: So he has opened doors for us here.
- 15:54SPEAKER_01: He opens the gate, you know.
- 15:56SPEAKER_01: He's like, you can come in freely, you know.
- 15:59SPEAKER_01: We're welcome to come into the gate.
- 16:02SPEAKER_01: We're welcome, you know, but also he sets us free.
- 16:05SPEAKER_01: So think about it as um a little animal in a cage, you know, and uh you see all those animals in the zoo, you know, and they're sad and stuff, and they're not free.
- 16:17SPEAKER_01: But you know what?
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: God does that, he opens the door and he sets us free in our hearts and in our minds to uh be free from the traumas and things that we've gone through, you know, the struggles.
- 16:30SPEAKER_01: And um, we get this intimate relationship with him, and I really feel like it's really about intimacy and personal time with the Lord.
- 16:40SPEAKER_01: And then in Matthew 6, 6, it says, When you pray, go by yourself and shut the door behind you and pray to your father in private.
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: Then your father who sees everything will remind you.
- 16:54SPEAKER_01: So my poem was about my dad seeing me, but the Lord always sees me.
- 16:59SPEAKER_01: In fact, there are so many times where I did wasn't even praying something, and it and the Lord already heard my heart.
- 17:08SPEAKER_01: It was like, I hear your heart, I see it.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: He shows me that he sees me.
- 17:13SPEAKER_01: So we had a home that we lost, and um, I remember we were striving to pay those payments, went up to$8,000, went from a regular payment to$8,000 because it had the the interest, it was a variable, and this is how a lot of people lost their homes a few years back.
- 17:35SPEAKER_01: So I had pneumonia, I was sick, I opened my door, and this lady's like, we're gonna take your house, you know.
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: Um you and I was just I shut the door and I was like, I went, and there was no, we hadn't, we didn't hardly have anything to eat, and I was so sick, and I was like, I can't even afford to go buy apple juice right now, and this medicine I'm taking, I really need something that tastes good.
- 18:00SPEAKER_01: You know, I'm thinking it in my head.
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: Guess what?
- 18:03SPEAKER_01: My sister-in-law shows up, she knocks on the door, and I open the door, and there she is with apple juice.
- 18:10SPEAKER_01: Oh, the very thing I wanted, you know.
- 18:13SPEAKER_01: I cried.
- 18:14SPEAKER_01: I was like, oh, God is so good, you know, like He's so amazing.
- 18:18SPEAKER_01: And then um the next one is um uh this is a this is a hard one.
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: It's uh James 5 9.
- 18:28SPEAKER_01: Your judge is standing at the door.
- 18:31SPEAKER_01: I don't think I need to say anymore about that one, but that one's like scary to me, you know, because I don't want him to say away from me, I never knew you, you know.
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 18:41SPEAKER_01: Um Psalm 24 7.
- 18:44SPEAKER_01: I like this one because it's a psalm.
- 18:46SPEAKER_01: Uh open up ancient gates, open up ancient doors, and let the king of glory enter.
- 18:54SPEAKER_01: And it that kind of makes me think.
- 18:56SPEAKER_01: I know this was for this time, but it also makes me think about our dusty ancient doors of our hearts, you know, like it needs, you know, we're gonna open them or not, you know, and um then the next one is Matthew 7, again, uh 13 through 14.
- 19:15SPEAKER_01: You can enter God's kingdom through the narrow gate.
- 19:19SPEAKER_01: Um the highway to hell is broad and the gate is wide, but the narrow is the narrow is the gate, and only a few will find it.
- 19:30SPEAKER_01: So um that's an interesting, and I don't really like the the big gate.
- 19:35SPEAKER_01: I don't want that one.
- 19:37SPEAKER_01: No I'm gonna scared of fire.
- 19:41SPEAKER_01: Okay, so then the next one is um Matthew 25.
- 19:45SPEAKER_01: It's about the bridegroom, and it's verses 1 through 13, but I'm paraphrasing it.
- 19:51SPEAKER_01: Um, the bridegroom uh is is Jesus, the virgins is the members of the church, the lamps is the word of God, the light is the spirit, the oil is the Holy Spirit, and so um, and it's his grace, and it's and it's a really deep, enduring faith, you know.
- 20:14SPEAKER_01: So that's where you get the oil.
- 20:16SPEAKER_01: So it's talking about the ten virgins, five are wise and five are unwise.
- 20:21SPEAKER_01: And um, so what what what the bride the bride is supposed to do is she's waiting for the bridegroom.
- 20:29SPEAKER_01: She's preparing.
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: Um, and then there were five that were wise and five were not.
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: So five were preparing and five were not.
- 20:37SPEAKER_01: So when you're preparing for a wedding, you're getting dressed, you're getting ready, you're getting your jewelry, you're you're just you're getting prepared, you know, and you're and not only that, but the whole wedding scene is prepared.
- 20:49SPEAKER_01: You gotta try to get the cake, you gotta get all this stuff, you know.
- 20:53SPEAKER_01: And then in this in this um scripture, there's a delay, and the bride fell asleep.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, that kind of is like, wow, the bride fell asleep.
- 21:07SPEAKER_01: Wake up, girl! You gotta get ready.
- 21:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, she was tired from getting ready, she was exhausted, she was enduring.
- 21:14SPEAKER_01: She was going through so much struggles just to be ready for for him, right?
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: She, you know, he doesn't want a raggedy bride.
- 21:22SPEAKER_01: She can't be all tired and sleepy on, you know.
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: And then um, then there's an then there's an awakening that happens.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: And um at midnight, there's a there's a loud cry, and he announces the bridegroom is coming.
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: Okay, and then five were ready and five were not.
- 21:43SPEAKER_01: So that's yeah, let's be ready, let's have that intimacy with him.
- 21:48SPEAKER_01: Let's be ready, let's not be a raggedy old bride and and not be ready, you know.
- 21:54SPEAKER_01: Um then um then uh There's the request.
- 22:01SPEAKER_01: So the foolish ask for oil.
- 22:03SPEAKER_01: Hey, hey, give us oil.
- 22:05SPEAKER_01: Give us oil.
- 22:06SPEAKER_01: And then the wise say, no, we're keeping our oil.
- 22:10SPEAKER_01: We, we, you know, this is ours.
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: We're we're ready.
- 22:14SPEAKER_01: Um, and the bridegroom um arrives while the foolish are looking for oil.
- 22:22SPEAKER_01: Um, the wise enter the feast.
- 22:24SPEAKER_01: So they enter the feast.
- 22:26SPEAKER_01: The consequences to this, so this is an exclusive set aside.
- 22:30SPEAKER_01: These five were set aside and they were not foolish, and they get to enter.
- 22:34SPEAKER_01: They get to enter the door.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: They're inside, and they get to go to the wedding feast, you know.
- 22:41SPEAKER_01: And then the consequences for the foolish ones, um, the door is locked.
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: And the bridegroom says, I do not know you.
- 22:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 22:52SPEAKER_01: That's that's pretty deep, you know, and and I remember banging on that door, let me in, let me in.
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: And I could relate to being shut out, you know, and um scared, and you know, and and everything's exposed because you didn't prepare yourself.
- 23:10SPEAKER_01: You know, it's like you're naked and afraid, you know, you didn't you were not prepared, and he knew, and he knew you were not prepared.
- 23:18SPEAKER_01: Um so keep watch, stay alert.
- 23:23SPEAKER_01: We do not know the time of his return.
- 23:26SPEAKER_01: So that's the advice.
- 23:29SPEAKER_01: Keep watch, stay alert.
- 23:32SPEAKER_01: And um, yeah, so that's it.
- 23:36SPEAKER_01: And then I'm, you know, I looked up some women in the Bible, and you know, there's a a lot of things about her.
- 23:43SPEAKER_01: Like she, you know, we can be, we are his beloved.
- 23:47SPEAKER_01: We're his beloved bride.
- 23:49SPEAKER_01: And there's so many different characteristics of different women in the Bible, like Deborah.
- 23:54SPEAKER_01: So we can be daring like Deborah, devoted like Ruth, we can be obedient like Esther, faithful like Mary and Mary, because both Marys were faithful.
- 24:04SPEAKER_01: Um, we can be wise like Abigail, because she was wise.
- 24:09SPEAKER_01: Um, and we could pray like Hannah.
- 24:11SPEAKER_01: I just love that the fact that she was just put everything into prayer.
- 24:17SPEAKER_01: And she gave everything.
- 24:18SPEAKER_01: She even gave her son, you know.
- 24:21SPEAKER_01: She's like, here, here's my son.
- 24:22SPEAKER_01: You bless me with this son, he he is yours.
- 24:25SPEAKER_01: And you know, can't we relate to giving our kids to God too?
- 24:29SPEAKER_01: You know, because they ultimately belong to him.
- 24:33SPEAKER_01: And um, like Hager, he's he saw her, God saw her, and he sees us too.
- 24:41SPEAKER_01: Um Dorcas, her sacrifices were not in vain.
- 24:45SPEAKER_01: Um, and then you think of the walls of Rahab and where she was at.
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: She was in the walls.
- 24:52SPEAKER_01: There were, you know, and and like what what is it for her?
- 24:57SPEAKER_01: She was hardworking and she was trusted by God, you know, and she she helped um say, you know, she was saving someone, you know, she was keeping people from being, you know, she was hiding them.
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: She was like a hiding place, you know.
- 25:15SPEAKER_01: And then um hardworking like Martha.
- 25:18SPEAKER_01: We all know Martha, you know, she's a hard worker and she lets everybody know.
- 25:23SPEAKER_01: Look at look at Miriam over here, she's at God's feet, and now I'm over here working.
- 25:28SPEAKER_01: But God appreciates that too.
- 25:30SPEAKER_01: And in that, if you read that, he shows her his love for her as well, you know.
- 25:35SPEAKER_01: Um, and then we can love like Priscilla.
- 25:38SPEAKER_01: Priscilla was very loving and um have mercy like Miriam.
- 25:44SPEAKER_01: You know, she had mercy on a baby, and then endure like Elizabeth with joy.
- 25:51SPEAKER_01: So she endured with joy because she had that baby at an older age.
- 25:56SPEAKER_01: And um, Sarah was the promised one.
- 26:00SPEAKER_01: Um she was blessed by God, and then uh actually Leah was the one that was blessed by God.
- 26:06SPEAKER_01: So prom there was a promise through with Sarah, but Leah was blessed, and Shiaksha was the lineage of Christ of Jesus, so they all had a purpose, and um then love like Rachel, um kind like Rebecca, and then there's the mother of many nations like Sarah, and I can relate to that because I've had many foster kids.
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: So I I'm you know, Sarah is the mother of many nations, however, I have the I'm the mother of many foster kids, you know, and I know you can relate to that as well.
- 26:42SPEAKER_01: And you know, I looked up the name of Eve and it means living one, and I thought that was interesting because I'm alive in Christ, you know, so that's everything on the doors that I could think of, but yeah, that was the door.
- 27:00SPEAKER_02: That's awesome.
- 27:01SPEAKER_01: He opens the doors, he opens doors no man can shut.
- 27:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 27:06SPEAKER_02: I like I like a couple parts that I wanted to talk about with you.
- 27:09SPEAKER_02: And um one of them was um when Matthew is told to to, I think it was Matthew 7, 7.
- 27:18SPEAKER_02: That's where he said to go into the the quiet place.
- 27:22SPEAKER_02: Um sometimes we think um for me the quiet place used to always be where I hid, like I was sharing before we got on here, you know, some of that.
- 27:31SPEAKER_02: Um and the quiet place is like it was the place where I felt the safest, you know, and not not knowing that when I was in that quiet place, even though I felt scared and alone, I really wasn't.
- 27:43SPEAKER_02: That's literally where I felt the safest.
- 27:44SPEAKER_02: God was always, he always had me in his hands, he was always protecting me.
- 27:49SPEAKER_02: No matter what was going on outside of those doors, I was I was safe in that little quarter, you know, no matter what.
- 27:56SPEAKER_02: Um, no matter what noises I could hear, or screaming or banging, or or whatever was on the outside of that door, I just know that the inside was a safe place.
- 28:05SPEAKER_02: And I I love that scripture because sometimes we forget.
- 28:09SPEAKER_02: Um we we we go looking for God all over the place, but God sometimes just wants us to go into the quiet place and just be with him and be still.
- 28:17SPEAKER_02: Like he says, be still with him.
- 28:19SPEAKER_02: And um and God has shown me that in my hiding place that sometimes it was good and sometimes it was bad, because sometimes I got so comfortable in my hiding place that I couldn't function on the outside of that door.
- 28:33SPEAKER_02: He's like, okay, I get a little comfortable.
- 28:35SPEAKER_02: I need to like open the door and kick you out a little bit, like get out in the world, you know, because we are um designed by God to be servants, you know, to people and to God.
- 28:44SPEAKER_02: We're supposed to be out abroad sharing the gospel.
- 28:47SPEAKER_02: We're not supposed to be just hiding in our little, our little hiding spot away from the whole world, you know, you know, terrified of what's on the outside.
- 28:54SPEAKER_02: Um, God also wants us to have that trust.
- 28:56SPEAKER_02: And I love that he's he's he's a God of balance.
- 28:59SPEAKER_02: He's not gonna keep us in a dark place for too long.
- 29:02SPEAKER_02: He's not gonna, you know, throw us out in the world for too long.
- 29:05SPEAKER_02: He's not gonna, he's not gonna put you in the water for too long, he's not gonna keep you any place too long to where um he doesn't have that 100% protective balance over your life and what he's doing in your life.
- 29:16SPEAKER_02: Because I always thought to myself, going through trials and tribulations, it's like, what is a what is this all about?
- 29:22SPEAKER_02: And like, what is this all about?
- 29:24SPEAKER_02: Now I'm over here doing this, and now I'm over here doing that, and I'm like, God, I'm not really sure what you're doing.
- 29:28SPEAKER_02: And what he was doing was, while he was taking me through all of these trials and tribulations, not only was he teaching me um how to have strength in him and and and to and to rely on him, like, hey, I'm not gonna let go of you.
- 29:41SPEAKER_02: I'm still gonna get you through this, no matter what it is.
- 29:44SPEAKER_02: And um, because sometimes I think we get in a situation, and I don't know about you, but for me, um, because my pride can get in the way.
- 29:51SPEAKER_02: And sometimes when I think, oh, I got this, I don't need God, and God will like, oh, really?
- 29:55SPEAKER_02: You know, he'll give me that little poke, like, um, you need me now, you know, kind of thing.
- 30:00SPEAKER_02: And I'll be like, oh boy.
- 30:01SPEAKER_02: No, and then I'm like, oh God, I need you, come back, come back, come back, you know.
- 30:04SPEAKER_02: Because sometimes we think, oh, we got this, I got this all on my own, you know.
- 30:08SPEAKER_02: And God will be like, hmm, are you sure about that?
- 30:10SPEAKER_02: You know, and he'll sometimes I think he puts us to in tests to remind us also how much we need him, not just how much, you know.
- 30:18SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, oh gosh, that is so me.
- 30:19SPEAKER_02: I'm so in trouble.
- 30:20SPEAKER_02: Like, I get it, you know.
- 30:22SPEAKER_02: So I I just love that God is he's like, I like all the scriptures you gave are so good.
- 30:27SPEAKER_02: They're so um, you know, pertaining to the to the door, the open door.
- 30:32SPEAKER_02: And I love how people say, or that it's been said, like, when God shuts one door, he'll open another, or sometimes he'll open a door, or he'll shut a door, you know, back and forth, uh, vice versa.
- 30:42SPEAKER_02: And um there's times in my life and I'm like, God, just shut this door, just shut this door.
- 30:47SPEAKER_02: Like, I don't want to be here anymore.
- 30:48SPEAKER_02: I want you just to shut this, you know, I want out, you know.
- 30:52SPEAKER_02: And there's situations in my life where God actually did that, you know, he shut the door and he got me out of the situation.
- 30:58SPEAKER_02: And then there's times where, and I love this story because um when I was a young girl, God sent a little girl in the middle of the night to knock on the door, and that's what saved me from getting murdered that night.
- 31:11SPEAKER_02: I don't know if I told you that story.
- 31:13SPEAKER_02: And I was only 10 years old, and um one of my mom's ex-husbands was was trying to rape me and was strangling me to death.
- 31:22SPEAKER_02: And this little girl, she was about six years old, came over and knocked on the door and asked to borrow the phone book, and he let go of me.
- 31:28SPEAKER_02: He he he let go of me.
- 31:29SPEAKER_02: He had me up in the air by my throat.
- 31:31SPEAKER_02: He was strangling me to death.
- 31:33SPEAKER_02: And this little girl bravely, I think she heard me screaming, probably, I don't know, in the you know, in the late in the night, and she came and knocked on that door all by herself, all by herself, and said, Can I borrow a phone book?
- 31:43SPEAKER_02: And it distracted him and it made him realize that other people on the outside of the door could hear what was going on, that he needed to knock it off, he was gonna get into trouble.
- 31:52SPEAKER_02: And so he locked me in my room, which I was okay with, but that little girl knocking on that door saved my life that night.
- 31:59SPEAKER_02: And had she not came and and make be uh became that distraction, I would not be here today.
- 32:05SPEAKER_02: I guarantee you he would have probably strangled me to death.
- 32:08SPEAKER_02: So I I love that you know, we can use the door as an analogy to what God does in our life, whether he opens the door or closes the door.
- 32:17SPEAKER_02: Um the decision is is sometimes we get stuck in the doorway and we're like, do we walk through it or do we do we back away from it?
- 32:26SPEAKER_02: You know, and and God wants us to step out in faith.
- 32:29SPEAKER_02: And there's times when I'm this like when w with this podcast, I didn't want to do it.
- 32:34SPEAKER_02: Like I was like, no way, God, I am not a podcast, I'm not doing this.
- 32:37SPEAKER_02: Like, no, no, no, no, no.
- 32:39SPEAKER_02: God kept nudging me and nudging me and nudging me.
- 32:41SPEAKER_02: So I was staying in the doorway, and finally God just kind of went and gave me a little shove, and he's like, You're doing this, you know.
- 32:47SPEAKER_02: And he got me um over the fear that I had over myself and doubting myself and the confidence I didn't have in myself.
- 32:54SPEAKER_02: And he showed me, he's like, um, he's like, You're never gonna know until you take that step out of that doorway.
- 33:00SPEAKER_02: You know, you can't just sit in the doorway.
- 33:02SPEAKER_02: Kind of like when we say, Don't be a fence sitter.
- 33:05SPEAKER_02: You can't be, you know, on the fence all the time.
- 33:07SPEAKER_02: You have to make a decision one way or the other, because you don't go anywhere if you're just sitting there.
- 33:12SPEAKER_02: And yeah, and I know that God, even sometimes when we sit on the fence and we're not supposed to, I know God hasn't left us, but I know he gives you subtle, you know, hints and pokes and nudges to like make you make up your mind.
- 33:27SPEAKER_02: Because God doesn't like us hot or cold, he will spit us out if we act like that.
- 33:31SPEAKER_02: And that's in Revelations.
- 33:32SPEAKER_02: I think it's in Revelations 3.
- 33:35SPEAKER_02: Hmm.
- 33:36SPEAKER_02: I think it might be Revelations 10.
- 33:38SPEAKER_02: Anyway, he says, um, um, don't be hot, don't be cold.
- 33:42SPEAKER_02: Or he said, be hot or cold, not in the middle, because if you are, I don't like that.
- 33:46SPEAKER_02: I'm just gonna spit you out.
- 33:47SPEAKER_02: You need to make up your mind whether you you accept accepting.
- 33:51SPEAKER_01: I'll spew you out, me which means I'll puke you out.
- 33:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 33:56SPEAKER_02: And so I always thought when I read that scripture, I'm like, ew, I don't want to, I don't want that, I don't want to be spewed out of anything.
- 34:03SPEAKER_02: You know, I'm like, Lord help me to to always have my mind focus on you to where I don't lose track of um being able to make the right decisions.
- 34:13SPEAKER_02: And when as soon as we like Peter, as soon as you take your eyes, he took his eyes off Jesus, he started sinking.
- 34:18SPEAKER_02: And Jesus literally didn't get upset with it with him, but he said, Well, why did you do that?
- 34:23SPEAKER_02: Why didn't why you know just stay focused right here and nothing's gonna happen?
- 34:26SPEAKER_02: But he lost that faith for a moment and he started sinking, and then he's looking at Jesus like, Why are you letting me sink?
- 34:32SPEAKER_02: And Jesus is like, Well, why you took your eyes off me?
- 34:34SPEAKER_02: Like it's a pretty simple analogy, you know.
- 34:37SPEAKER_02: But that's how um simple God is, but yet we make it complicated.
- 34:40SPEAKER_02: We would rather almost drown instead of seeing just hey, keep your eyes on me, and I'm gonna lead you, you know, whichever direction we go.
- 34:48SPEAKER_01: So it's you know, um it's really amazing in John 10, it really explains a lot about the door because um there's also the hireling, the hired hand who cares nothing for the sheep, you know, and you know, you you're in play, you know, in high places sometimes.
- 35:09SPEAKER_01: And you know, there's churches, there's jobs, there's different things, and people that are over you, you know, and some of them are hired hands, and we don't always know who they are, but we have to pay attention to his voice.
- 35:25SPEAKER_01: That's why we have to have an intimate relationship with him, you know, and he says, My sheep hear my voice, you know, and then the wolf comes, you know, and there's there's um some that sneak in, sneak in in the back way, you know, and they make their way in into the sheep fold.
- 35:44SPEAKER_01: And he's he's like, They're not of they're not of this fold.
- 35:47SPEAKER_01: So he gets rid of them and he pr he lays his life down for the sheep, is what he says.
- 35:53SPEAKER_01: And we're like, we're like the sheep, you know, but we uh and and he says the stranger's voice they will not hear.
- 35:59SPEAKER_01: So I don't know if you've ever watched sheep before, but um, if you come up, I like to take pictures, so I went up to take pictures and they didn't know me.
- 36:07SPEAKER_01: They took me, you know, they took off.
- 36:10SPEAKER_01: And they had a they have what you call an ooh, which is a head sheep, and she'll go, and you know, and then they'll all run off, you know, and they'll go, you know, go follow her.
- 36:20SPEAKER_01: And um, and they have the sheep dog out there, and the sheep dog is rounding them up, going, There's danger here, get out, you know, but they will only listen to his voice.
- 36:28SPEAKER_01: And I don't know if you knew about this, but there is um sometimes there is a mother sheep who will give birth, and sometimes she'll have twins or whatever, but every so often she will not want that sheep, and she'll actually try to she tries to kill it.
- 36:45SPEAKER_01: She discards it.
- 36:46SPEAKER_01: And how many of us have had m moms that were just mean to us, you know, and we're like, eh, you know, we're trying to get milk.
- 36:56SPEAKER_01: We love you, you know, and and she's like, get out of here, you know.
- 37:00SPEAKER_01: I don't want you, you know, and you're like, I just need some food.
- 37:04SPEAKER_01: And then anyway, um, but the shepherd will actually come out there and he will pick up that little lamb and he will take it into the house and he will take them in and he will feed the sheep himself and take care of the sheep until the sheep is big enough to get be back put out into the pen, you know, and I like what you said about the his hand being with you and upon you.
- 37:30SPEAKER_01: And um I believe that he does intervene with his mighty righteous right hand because um, you know, currently he was showing me a sheep pin.
- 37:42SPEAKER_01: And um many times I've seen, like, you know, I've had dreams about a sheep pen and his hand coming down, like, come on, get in my hand.
- 37:52SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna take you into my house.
- 37:55SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna have some time with you, you know.
- 37:57SPEAKER_01: And it's like he he holds you close to him because I'm at a time where I need intimacy with him, and I've been burning myself out.
- 38:06SPEAKER_01: And um, he's like, Come here, come here, you know, and I'm like, okay, you know, and I'm like, I'm I'm resting, I'm resting in that because there are things in this world, principalities and things in our minds and things that will distract us from the door.
- 38:23SPEAKER_01: And he is the door, you know, he's the one that's standing at the door, and you know, he has it open for you, you know, and we just have to open our hearts to him and not get so distracted that we're taking our eyes off of him, you know, and that's the main focus is keeping our eyes on him and having that intimate relationship.
- 38:47SPEAKER_01: And um, you know, but I I do that.
- 38:50SPEAKER_01: I tend to, you know, um the distractions.
- 38:55SPEAKER_01: If you if you vision a a door and you see a bunch of um nasty creatures in front of it, and they're like, you can't get in this door, huh?
- 39:06SPEAKER_01: You know, and you're you're like, move out of the way in the name of Jesus, you know.
- 39:11SPEAKER_01: And that's where you're in in your prayer closet and going, get out of the door, you know, and there, and there's people that in in our lives that block you from the door that they think, oh yeah, you know, and their pride and their arrogance try to hurt you, but as soon as you get to that door and that door is open, many doors open.
- 39:35SPEAKER_01: You know, there's he opens doors no man can shut, and those doors are specifically for you, and no man can hinder it or stop it.
- 39:44SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 39:44SPEAKER_02: That's really good.
- 39:46SPEAKER_02: I actually love that because um there's been times in my life where um, again, you know, when we talk about the renewing of our mind and what we're supposed to be doing, um, there's times where I've allowed people to influence my decision and not God.
- 40:03SPEAKER_02: And it changed the course, the trajectory, if you will, of what I was supposed to be doing because I lost my confidence because of what somebody said to me.
- 40:13SPEAKER_02: I lost my my you know, I had so much doubt over myself and it's like, oh, you you know, this is you know, you can't do this, and you know, it's like you're ridiculous or whatever.
- 40:22SPEAKER_02: And um, and then you know what it's crazy.
- 40:24SPEAKER_02: As soon as something's spoken over you, um, we've allowed that to come into our thought process.
- 40:30SPEAKER_02: And once you open that door, the enemy can the enemy doesn't open that door, we do.
- 40:35SPEAKER_02: But the enemy will come and once that door is open, he puts his little foot right there and he keeps it open, and he just keeps reminding you, remember, you're not good enough.
- 40:43SPEAKER_02: You you don't have any confidence, you're ridiculous, you're not even smart enough.
- 40:47SPEAKER_02: Like, what's wrong with you?
- 40:48SPEAKER_02: Why would you you know, and he just keeps going and going and going until you almost go nuts with it because you know, like I do believe that uh there's a lot of people that have a lot of mental distractions, and a lot of it's because there's open doors in their lives, strongholds, I will say, that um the enemy has his foot in, although we've allowed them.
- 41:07SPEAKER_02: You know, we we get strongholds from generational curses, we get strongholds from making our own bad decisions in life.
- 41:14SPEAKER_02: A lot of times we um I know a lot of people go, Oh, it's just the devil, it's just the devil.
- 41:18SPEAKER_02: It's not always just the devil.
- 41:20SPEAKER_02: That's because God gave us a free will.
- 41:22SPEAKER_02: And sometimes freely we have decided to make some bad decisions in our life.
- 41:27SPEAKER_02: It wasn't the devil, but yet we'll turn around and go, oh, it was the devil, and now we're actually giving credit to the devil for something he didn't even accomplish, which is something else we're not supposed to do.
- 41:36SPEAKER_02: We're not supposed to give him any credit for something he didn't even do, um especially because you know he wants to destroy us as it is.
- 41:45SPEAKER_02: But those are the three ways that we can get those strongholds in us, and we have to recognize it as um not just a distraction, but we have to recognize that this is a hindrance to the door that God wants us to go through.
- 41:58SPEAKER_02: And um sometimes we have to um recognize it and see it and rebuke it, repent from it, and then get back on track with you know where God wants us to go.
- 42:10SPEAKER_02: Because he wants us to, you know, kind of like turn around and be like, hey, keep your eyes on me, stop taking your eyes off be like Peter, so you don't keep falling down in that, you know, in the water.
- 42:19SPEAKER_01: And when he told him you have little faith.
- 42:22SPEAKER_01: Huh?
- 42:23SPEAKER_01: He said, Oh, you have little faith to Peter.
- 42:25SPEAKER_02: Yes, oh you have little faith.
- 42:27SPEAKER_02: He did say that.
- 42:27SPEAKER_02: He's like, Oh, you have little faith.
- 42:29SPEAKER_02: Like, why why so little faith?
- 42:30SPEAKER_02: Why not, you know, you should have a lot of faith, you know.
- 42:32SPEAKER_02: After, you know, can I can imagine being with Jesus as much as they were with Jesus and having any lack of faith.
- 42:38SPEAKER_02: But when we hear the stories, you know, and the testimonies, like Peter is like, how would he have so much faith after watching everything he did right in front of you?
- 42:46SPEAKER_02: You know, we get to hear the stories, but man, I mean, actually being there and living it.
- 42:51SPEAKER_02: I I don't know, I I know that my faith, faith would be probably even more intensified than it is now, actually walking with Jesus.
- 42:59SPEAKER_02: I I couldn't imagine it being living.
- 43:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 43:01SPEAKER_02: So it's it was crazy that he said, Boy, you have little faith in me.
- 43:05SPEAKER_02: And I was thinking, man, how come they have such little faith?
- 43:08SPEAKER_02: You would think he had abundant faith walking next to Jesus, you know.
- 43:11SPEAKER_02: But Jesus, because he was in a in the in a human form, I think that's why.
- 43:17SPEAKER_02: Um not a not a um like in the spiritual realm.
- 43:22SPEAKER_02: He was more of the the human person like me and you, like, you know, sometimes like you have your friend next to you and you might not have as much faith in them, like here, hey, hey, um I'm gonna throw this at you, catch it.
- 43:32SPEAKER_02: You know, it's like you better hope they catch it so you don't break it, you know, whatever.
- 43:35SPEAKER_02: Um, like the trust games that people play.
- 43:38SPEAKER_02: I'm like, I'm not real fond of that because I don't want anybody dropping me on the ground.
- 43:42SPEAKER_01: But God there was a time where he went to his back to his own town and he he it says that he was a prophet without honor in his own hometown.
- 43:55SPEAKER_01: So what did he do?
- 43:56SPEAKER_01: He left and he went to different places, he had to leave his.
- 44:00SPEAKER_01: I mean and and what's crazy is is he did all these miracles everywhere else, but in in his own hometown, n it couldn't happen because it was without honor there.
- 44:10SPEAKER_01: And sometimes um in our own families and um people that have been around us our whole life who knew us before we were with Christ are like, oh whatever.
- 44:21SPEAKER_01: Nothing can good can come out of her, you know.
- 44:24SPEAKER_01: Um nothing good's out of that family, or you know what I mean?
- 44:28SPEAKER_01: And um I remember um we got to be careful who we let in the door to, you know, and that's something that I do tend to lack in because I just love, love everybody.
- 44:39SPEAKER_01: Um, but one there's one scene actually for you kind of uh triggered my memory.
- 44:45SPEAKER_01: Uh we were young and I was pregnant with my second son, and we were preparing to get our first house and we were in this apartment that I hated.
- 44:55SPEAKER_01: Um, and because they always there was always a bug problem, you know, and I hate bugs.
- 45:00SPEAKER_01: And so I wanted to get out of that place so bad, you know.
- 45:04SPEAKER_01: And uh one night the neighbor was yelling and fighting, and you could hear it.
- 45:09SPEAKER_01: And then the the lady comes to our door crying her eyes out, and she she's naked, she has nothing on, and she's an older late, elderly lady, and um, you know, her hair is all straggly and everything, and she's banging on my door, please let me in.
- 45:27SPEAKER_01: And I know what that's like to be banging on a door.
- 45:30SPEAKER_01: So I let her in and I grabbed the blanket and I covered her, and I just gave her gave her the blanket.
- 45:35SPEAKER_01: And um we then guess what?
- 45:38SPEAKER_01: He comes banging on the door.
- 45:42SPEAKER_01: And we did not open the door to him, but we called the police, right?
- 45:45SPEAKER_01: You know, so you you gotta be careful who you let up was not gonna let him in the door, why?
- 45:51SPEAKER_01: So he can attack me and maul me too, you know what I mean?
- 45:54SPEAKER_01: Like yeah, it was it was so crazy.
- 45:56SPEAKER_01: And I'm so glad my husband was there, but you know, um, and if you think about it, you know, would you let a thief come in your door?
- 46:05SPEAKER_01: Would you let a crazy, like some crazy looking people come to your door and you could tell they have guns?
- 46:12SPEAKER_01: Are you gonna let them in?
- 46:15SPEAKER_01: No, no, and that's the enemy.
- 46:17SPEAKER_02: Well, God gives us discernment, and I love the book of Proverbs because um there's so much wisdom and knowledge in the book of Proverbs, and I love that.
- 46:26SPEAKER_02: When I tell, you know, when I talk about um like um when the fear that we should have of the Lord, we should start with the book of Proverbs because there's so much knowledge in that book.
- 46:36SPEAKER_02: That and the book of Romans both I think are really good with knowledge, but um, it says to be discerning, you need to be aware, you know, just like be aware of the the the um the wolves in sheep's clothing.
- 46:48SPEAKER_02: We have to be alert and we have to be ready in and out of season all the time.
- 46:52SPEAKER_02: And sometimes we don't know what that looks like.
- 46:54SPEAKER_02: Um, like I I heard somebody say, like, uh this is kind of funny.
- 46:58SPEAKER_02: She um I think it was a yeah, she said, um, she goes, Oh, you gotta just love everyone.
- 47:04SPEAKER_02: You reminded me when you said, Oh, I just love everyone.
- 47:06SPEAKER_02: She's like, You just gotta love the hell out of them.
- 47:08SPEAKER_02: You gotta love the devil out of them.
- 47:09SPEAKER_02: But here's the thing that's not always our job.
- 47:12SPEAKER_02: Our job is to have the seed, and God gets to love the hell out of them because God, uh, you know, Jesus went to the cross for them.
- 47:19SPEAKER_02: We didn't.
- 47:20SPEAKER_02: And that's why I think what you just said is so important that we do have to be discerning.
- 47:25SPEAKER_02: We don't just let the thief in because we want to pray with them and we want to get them saved.
- 47:29SPEAKER_02: We got to protect, you know, who we are and what we have.
- 47:33SPEAKER_02: And it's not to say, like, well, um, when I used to run the homeless ministry, remember when I used to do that?
- 47:38SPEAKER_02: When I first started, I was scared to death because some of these people that would show up, they would they would just terrify me.
- 47:45SPEAKER_02: They would be yelling and they would be, you know, being really rough around the edges, and they were angry and just saying all kinds of stuff.
- 47:50SPEAKER_02: And there was a lot of demonic um oppression going on in that area, and it was it scared me really bad, actually, at first.
- 47:57SPEAKER_02: And then as I was watching um the pastors that I was serving underneath, and I would watch how um my friend Tasha, I think you know Tasha, but she went up to everybody and she didn't she wasn't afraid, she just went up and she said, Hi, can I pray with you?
- 48:11SPEAKER_02: And I love you, and thank you for being here.
- 48:12SPEAKER_02: And I was like, What is she doing?
- 48:14SPEAKER_02: That guy might punch her, that guy might stab her, and I was so terrified, right?
- 48:18SPEAKER_02: But I kept watching her and watching her, and then she kind of took me by the hand and she's like, Come with me, because I told her how scared I was and she took me along with her.
- 48:25SPEAKER_02: And then next thing you know, I started praying.
- 48:27SPEAKER_02: Once I started praying over them, I had that I didn't have the fear, but I know I wouldn't have just walked up to them and be like, Hey, you want to come home with me and have dinner?
- 48:34SPEAKER_02: I don't think so.
- 48:36SPEAKER_02: You know, you still have to be careful, and so yeah, I think God does give us a discerning spirit, and we need to be watchful of that because the the enemy does come to seal, kill, and destroy, and he will if we allow him to.
- 48:48SPEAKER_02: You know, we we've got to keep that that door, that door shut, you know, if we can.
- 48:52SPEAKER_02: So you're right on that.
- 48:54SPEAKER_02: But um, anyhow, we do have to start wrapping up.
- 48:57SPEAKER_02: But oh my gosh, what this is great.
- 48:58SPEAKER_02: I loved your poem.
- 49:00SPEAKER_02: Um, I still encourage you to write a book.
- 49:02SPEAKER_02: I want you to, you know, a book of poetry and your testimony, all of it.
- 49:06SPEAKER_02: I think that would be amazing.
- 49:08SPEAKER_02: And um, you know, if God lays it on your heart to do that, I think it would be really a good idea.
- 49:13SPEAKER_02: And um, I'm glad that you came today and we got to share your your your story again.
- 49:18SPEAKER_02: And and um I think as we go through this series, like I I think that we God is gonna going to keep the door open for us to touch base on um specific topics.
- 49:30SPEAKER_02: And um, I don't know about you, but I'm thinking that our next topic might be on distraction, on on what are the distractions, what is it, you know, like maybe we should um look into that and and pray about it and see if that's what um our next topic will be, because for some reason that's what God has on my heart right now, because there's so many times in my life where um I didn't do what I needed to do because I allowed the distraction to keep me from doing it.
- 49:55SPEAKER_02: And so I think maybe uh in our next um episode, um, if you want, you can think about it, pray about it too, and see what God gives you.
- 50:02SPEAKER_02: We talk about maybe distraction, see where it goes.
- 50:05SPEAKER_02: Maybe it maybe it'll lead us a different direction.
- 50:07SPEAKER_02: But for some reason, I just feel like when you brought that up, I was like, oh my gosh, we gotta talk on that, we've got to do another episode on that.
- 50:12SPEAKER_02: So but yeah, um for our listeners out there today, I just want to thank everyone that's here.
- 50:19SPEAKER_02: And um, if you are struggling with a stronghold and um you do feel stuck in any way, um just contact me through crushingstrongholds.com.
- 50:27SPEAKER_02: Um, there's a place on there for a clarity call, there's a place on there for prayer, and um there's all kinds of um options on there.
- 50:35SPEAKER_02: There's podcasts on there as well.
- 50:37SPEAKER_02: Um, this podcast will be on there, so you can go to that website and see them there, as well as on YouTube and Shopify and all over the place.
- 50:44SPEAKER_02: So share with all your friends um this episode because it's amazing.
- 50:48SPEAKER_02: And we literally just want to share the love and the joy of Jesus Christ, and we want to help people that um struggle and get stuck with strongholds so that they can find freedom.
- 50:58SPEAKER_02: And I don't know about you, Trish, but when when I am um walking with the Lord, I have this, you know, no matter what's going on around me, it's almost kind of like a laxadaisy um feeling where God just gives me this joy in my heart that no matter what's going on around me, I mean, I mean, this is gonna sound stupid, but like something could catch on fire and I'll be like, oh, there's a fire over there.
- 51:20SPEAKER_02: And, you know, just go, you know what I mean?
- 51:22SPEAKER_02: I'd be like really laxadaisy with it because God, God keeps us in a place of peace when we have, you know, when we have him right on our heart all the time.
- 51:29SPEAKER_02: Like when you said when he pulls you into that resting place, he gives you this joy, this peace on your life that that that's something that I like to share and want to share because I think when people see that on you, the people that are frantically freaking out about every little thing.
- 51:45SPEAKER_02: And I used to be that person.
- 51:46SPEAKER_02: I used to be the one that used to be like, oh my gosh, and I you know, because I've called you a few times, like, Trish, what do I do?
- 51:52SPEAKER_02: I need your help right now.
- 51:52SPEAKER_02: I'm freaking out.
- 51:53SPEAKER_02: And you're like, okay, calm down, I'm on my way, you know.
- 51:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Tony, I'm on, we're on our way.
- 51:58SPEAKER_02: I'm like, I don't know what to do.
- 52:00SPEAKER_02: Um, but um there's times when we take our eyes off Jesus and we lose that peace and that joy.
- 52:06SPEAKER_02: And I just I know that when people see it on me, they like it's like it's a contagious joy.
- 52:11SPEAKER_02: They're like, what does she got?
- 52:12SPEAKER_02: Where does she get that?
- 52:13SPEAKER_02: I need to go to that store and pick some of that up, you know.
- 52:16SPEAKER_02: So yeah, I think that I, you know, like when I talk to you, I always feel that when I'm when I'm on the phone with you or I'm around you and I talk to you because you always have the peace of God on you all the time, and I love that about you.
- 52:27SPEAKER_02: And and when you say, Oh, I just love to love people, it shows.
- 52:31SPEAKER_02: I just want you to know it shows.
- 52:32SPEAKER_02: And it's very enduring, by the way, um, at least for me, because I came from a family that didn't show a lot of love.
- 52:38SPEAKER_02: So it's nice to have a friend and a person in my life that just always, you know, shows that kind of love to other people and everyone.
- 52:45SPEAKER_02: So thank you for that.
- 52:46SPEAKER_02: But again, for our listeners out there, um, I hope you enjoyed this episode and stay tuned because there is more to come.
- 52:54SPEAKER_02: And I just hope that you all have a great and amazing day.
- 52:57SPEAKER_02: And again, if you need prayer, reach out to me and let me know.
- 52:59SPEAKER_02: I'll be glad to pray with you.
- 53:01SPEAKER_02: And as far as that goes, I hope you all have a great and fantastic day.
- 53:04SPEAKER_02: Thank you, and take care.
