- 0:01SPEAKER_02: Well, hey everybody, welcome back to yet another exciting episode of the Steve and Jeff Show.
- 0:07SPEAKER_02: I'm Steve, and I'm Jeff.
- 0:08SPEAKER_02: How's it going, Steve?
- 0:09SPEAKER_02: Oh, Jeff.
- 0:10SPEAKER_02: Jeff, it is going so well.
- 0:11SPEAKER_02: We are getting on our streaming services where, by the way, this podcast is available wherever you listen to podcasts.
- 0:18SPEAKER_02: And uh we are just getting so much attention, Jeff.
- 0:21SPEAKER_02: It is, it is so wild.
- 0:23SPEAKER_02: But you know, you know, in addition to this outstanding worldwide leading podcast, we actually do we have a website, stevenjeff.com.
- 0:33SPEAKER_02: We do, and yes, I understand that you tell some stories on that website, don't you?
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there's a new one up there.
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: Sometimes I'll write a blog, you'll write a blog, we'll we'll write our thoughts or whatever.
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: And uh, and as you know, I am a juber yes uh driver, so it's Jewish.
- 0:51SPEAKER_02: Yes, for those who haven't read it, that means a Jewish Uber driver.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: That's what I am, and sometimes I come up with that's right.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: I come up with interesting stories.
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: Now, what's interesting, Steve, is that how many shows have we done now?
- 1:04SPEAKER_02: 37, 38, something like that.
- 1:07SPEAKER_01: And we've had celebrities at almost every show, right?
- 1:11SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so I picked up a homeless guy who literally had more celebrity experiences than we've had.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: Oh, he needs to be on the show.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: Well, yeah, I mean, if I could find him again, but the first thing I thought was, the fuck.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: That was my first thought.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 1:26SPEAKER_02: Well, the second one was And that that is often the first thought is like, what the fuck?
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: You know, yeah, you know, I feel bad about that, but that that was my first thought.
- 1:34SPEAKER_01: And the second one was, you know, is any of this shit true?
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: But it turns out, doing a little research, I think it is.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: Basically, a homeless guy in his 80s got in my car and started telling me about his relationship with the Rat Pack.
- 1:48SPEAKER_01: You remember the Rat Pack scene?
- 1:49SPEAKER_01: Oh, sure.
- 1:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:50SPEAKER_02: That would be Frank, Joey, Frank, Joey, Dean, Sammy, and Sammy.
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: That's I think Peter.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, all those guys.
- 2:00SPEAKER_01: Basically, not only did he know those guys, but he partied with them and he had him over at his house for all night get togethers.
- 2:08SPEAKER_01: So I thought that was pretty funny.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: I was about ready to let him off out of the car, and then he name dropped somebody that I just I literally slammed on the brakes.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: Barbara Eden.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: He said that he dated Barbara Eden.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: I dream of Jeannie.
- 2:23SPEAKER_02: I dream of Jeannie with the covered navel.
- 2:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah, oh yeah.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: She's like 94 now.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: Says he still says says she still has a great body.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: Well, yeah, he's dating her now, right?
- 2:33SPEAKER_02: He's dating the 94-year-old Barbara.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: I think in his mind he might be dating her, but now I'm dating her in my mind.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, to be honest with you.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: You know, uh, but yeah, so he dated Barbara Eden, ended up with some pictures of her in bed with her I dream of Jeannie outfit next to her.
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: Is it podcast video or is it?
- 2:52SPEAKER_02: I so wish we were on video.
- 2:53SPEAKER_02: We're just on the audio here.
- 2:55SPEAKER_02: Damn, I have the I so wish we were on video.
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: Steve, look at this picture and tell me, isn't that amazing?
- 3:01SPEAKER_02: That is oh, that's Jeannie.
- 3:03SPEAKER_02: I'm fucking dreaming of Jeannie right now.
- 3:05SPEAKER_02: Dreaming of Jeannie, yeah, that's her.
- 3:07SPEAKER_02: Wow, she didn't look like that on the show.
- 3:10SPEAKER_02: Let me tell you.
- 3:11SPEAKER_02: Oh, Tony.
- 3:12SPEAKER_02: Tony, yeah, Tony.
- 3:13SPEAKER_02: Tony, yeah, he got into a different business later.
- 3:16SPEAKER_02: Our Tony is not related to the show.
- 3:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: But anyway, so Steve, could you put that on the agenda that maybe we want to start doing video down the road?
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: Because if we do, I'll hold on to these pictures.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: Well, I've I've blown this one up, so it's in my bedroom.
- 3:29SPEAKER_02: I say, Jeff, I think you're gonna hold on to that picture, whatever we do, right?
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: I mean, kind of think so.
- 3:34SPEAKER_02: And when I say blowing it up, yeah, I think it's literal.
- 3:38SPEAKER_01: But anyway, Steve, so that was my thought.
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: I I didn't even think that we couldn't show it to the audience.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: Well, then maybe we can do a contest or something.
- 3:46SPEAKER_02: And I'll tell you, we could we could do a contest, and maybe the winner gets a peek at this picture because I'll tell you, good too.
- 3:54SPEAKER_02: It's worth entering the contest.
- 3:56SPEAKER_02: I'll just say that.
- 3:57SPEAKER_02: Oh, it's pretty good.
- 3:59SPEAKER_02: It is.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: Oh, I didn't want to tease you too much with that, but uh, but we might want to look at doing that down the road.
- 4:05SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 4:05SPEAKER_02: How about you?
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: Anything so did how was your Easter?
- 4:08SPEAKER_02: Easter was great.
- 4:09SPEAKER_02: Easter was great.
- 4:10SPEAKER_02: I did did some more outreach, you know.
- 4:12SPEAKER_02: We were out uh meeting with the people and and just just the response we're getting is so wonderful, it's so great.
- 4:18SPEAKER_02: We you know, now now some of them didn't like it that I would knock on doors while they're having Easter dinner and and like hand out promotional items.
- 4:26SPEAKER_02: Some of them object that rabbit outfit or well, I you know, I did because I thought that would be seasonal, you know.
- 4:32SPEAKER_02: I did, and uh little eggs in the basket.
- 4:35SPEAKER_02: So at first they thought, oh, this is some friendly Easter guy.
- 4:38SPEAKER_02: And and I think they I a couple of them were a little mad when I started talking about a podcast, and I played a little bit because in the eggs, they're not actual candy Easter egg, they're like these little plastic things, and inside I've got these little speakers that I can play stuff on, and I hit a button on my phone and it plays it played some of the podcast out of the eggs.
- 5:00SPEAKER_02: It's that's a wonderful little invention.
- 5:02SPEAKER_02: It's like the talking egg, it's just so it's so cool, it's so cool.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: Now, now this is the first.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: Is this the first time?
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: Probably not the first time ever that Passover and Easter land on the same time period, right?
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: So is there a chance that you might have knocked on the wrong doors?
- 5:16SPEAKER_02: And you know, this this one door I knocked on, they just couldn't stop laughing, and they asked me if I wanted some uh Morgan Davis or something.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: I Morgan Davis, yes, Morgan Davis.
- 5:27SPEAKER_02: He's that guy with the deep voice that always does the yeah, yeah, the voice driving driving Miss Miss Fairy or whatever her name was, yeah.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: And Fairport Convention, the one about the prison, right?
- 5:38SPEAKER_02: Fairport convention.
- 5:39SPEAKER_02: It was a folk rock group and a movie about prisons.
- 5:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's right.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: Yes, that's right.
- 5:43SPEAKER_02: It was, yes, yes, very good.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: So well, well, Steve, this has been great.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: I hope that we can do this some other time.
- 5:49SPEAKER_02: So I got anything else?
- 5:51SPEAKER_02: Well, Jeff, you know, we've got we have we have a brilliant show tonight, Jeff.
- 5:56SPEAKER_02: And you know how I know we've got a brilliant show?
- 5:58SPEAKER_02: Because let me tap this glass.
- 6:00SPEAKER_02: We got nobody on the other side of the glass, Jeff.
- 6:03SPEAKER_02: You know who we've got tonight?
- 6:04SPEAKER_02: Let me and let me reach into the mailbag, even though you know, Jeff, these are emails.
- 6:08SPEAKER_02: There's no e there's no mailbag.
- 6:09SPEAKER_02: I mean, I know, I know.
- 6:10SPEAKER_02: But you know, it's good radio.
- 6:12SPEAKER_02: So hey, let me reach in the mailbag.
- 6:14SPEAKER_02: Reach in the mailbag.
- 6:15SPEAKER_02: Oh, we've got our listeners on our show tonight.
- 6:20SPEAKER_02: This is another listener response show.
- 6:23SPEAKER_02: We've had so many great listeners that have sent in emails and and please just send them on in to us.
- 6:30SPEAKER_02: You could wind up on our show if you send in an email.
- 6:33SPEAKER_02: So we, you know, I think it's just important that we really reconnect with the roots, with the bass, with the core, with the trunk, with the rest of the elephant, too.
- 6:42SPEAKER_02: I think it's just important that we that we get together with the people that really make this show what it is, and like elephants, never forget.
- 6:51SPEAKER_02: And we can never forget our elephant friends listening to this, like in wherever they are in you know, India or wherever, you know.
- 6:59SPEAKER_01: Completely.
- 7:00SPEAKER_01: So good.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: So I can't wait.
- 7:02SPEAKER_01: I'm to hear what our people are saying about us, asking about to us.
- 7:07SPEAKER_02: You know, Jeff, I'm I'm feeling magnanimous.
- 7:09SPEAKER_02: That's that's I think that's how's that feel?
- 7:11SPEAKER_02: I think that's a type of cigar that they just magnanimous, but anyway, but but I digressed.
- 7:16SPEAKER_02: But I'm feeling magnanimous.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: You know, you look me go first, yeah.
- 7:20SPEAKER_01: Just look look look at the screen here.
- 7:21SPEAKER_02: See now it's just it's it's up here somewhere.
- 7:24SPEAKER_01: First one here.
- 7:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there you go.
- 7:25SPEAKER_01: Um uh good evening, Steve and Jeff.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: I'm Alex.
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: I don't know if this is a man or a woman.
- 7:32SPEAKER_02: Alex could go either way, and I I bet and I think she she or he does.
- 7:36SPEAKER_02: He or she does, yes.
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: My my question is for both of you.
- 7:40SPEAKER_01: Uh, I know you are partners on the show, but in real life, are you partners and married?
- 7:46SPEAKER_01: If not, why not?
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: If yes, where did you go on your honeymoon and do you have any children that you know of?
- 7:52SPEAKER_02: Wow, that's you want to answer that first.
- 7:54SPEAKER_02: That is that is very, very fascinating and flattering.
- 7:57SPEAKER_02: And and uh I can just say yes, we we've known each other 50 years, a little over 50 years now.
- 8:03SPEAKER_02: And uh yes, we are married, not to each other, but we are married.
- 8:07SPEAKER_02: And uh, I don't know about you, Jeff, but I went to uh Hoboken, New Jersey on on my honeymoon.
- 8:13SPEAKER_02: I what what what did you do?
- 8:14SPEAKER_01: Well, we met at a l at uh a bar, so for our honeymoon, we just went back to the bar.
- 8:19SPEAKER_02: Went back to the bar.
- 8:20SPEAKER_02: That's sentimental.
- 8:21SPEAKER_02: See, I just went to Hoboken because there was a deal.
- 8:24SPEAKER_02: I mean, I had nothing to do with anything, right?
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: But and and that's we go back to that bar every year as you know.
- 8:32SPEAKER_02: Well, we go back to that bar every every week, but right every year we go back once a year we go the anniversary trip once a year, you do the just the regular drinking trip once a week.
- 8:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah, absolutely.
- 8:44SPEAKER_02: No, that makes sense.
- 8:45SPEAKER_02: That makes sense.
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: So, Steve, you're implying that we're not a couple and married to each other, and I would just like this is a good time to just tell you how I feel because I've kind of been holding that in for 50 some years, but let it let it go, Jeff, because there's no better audience to do this in front of than our listeners.
- 9:03SPEAKER_01: Uh you're absolutely for anything.
- 9:06SPEAKER_01: Plus, my my wife doesn't listen to the show, so I can kind of be candid about you know my say whatever you want.
- 9:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you should have to hear it.
- 9:15SPEAKER_01: So, Steve, uh, no, we're not a couple, no, we're not married.
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: Doesn't mean I don't have feelings.
- 9:21SPEAKER_01: I'm just saying nothing.
- 9:22SPEAKER_01: I know what those feelings mean, but there's no question that I have something that's going on in my head about you.
- 9:30SPEAKER_01: Maybe as time goes on, I'll be able to sort that out and share more with you.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: But yes, there's definitely something there.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: So, Alex, wow, whoever you are, I think you picked up on some magnetism, some charisma, some something going on between us.
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: Some mesh hasn't been consummated, but some gear meshing, so to speak.
- 9:54SPEAKER_02: You know, Alex, I hope you stay listening because this could be a whole new slant, a whole new thread for our show.
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: Might not be legal in Nebraska, though, but you know, but it is in Illinois.
- 10:07SPEAKER_02: It still is now it might not be by the time we straighten out the thread, it might not be now.
- 10:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, okay.
- 10:12SPEAKER_01: Well, you can pull my thread anytime you want.
- 10:14SPEAKER_02: Ah, well, see, see, Alex, look what you've started here.
- 10:18SPEAKER_02: A whole new thought process, a whole new everything, my guess.
- 10:22SPEAKER_01: Speaking of pulling threads, uh, Steve, you're next, and I'm just looking at first name on your so, anyways.
- 10:29SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 10:29SPEAKER_02: Speaking of New Jersey, here's uh we have a list here in New Jersey.
- 10:33SPEAKER_02: There's a Delbert Schmuckel of uh Tom's Bank, New Jersey, Steve and Jeff.
- 10:38SPEAKER_02: That Crash Davis guy is no star.
- 10:41SPEAKER_02: Now, of course, we had Crash Davis on a few shows ago.
- 10:44SPEAKER_02: He had survived 17 plane crashes, 21 if you count Spirit.
- 10:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but you know, spirits that's too easy.
- 10:50SPEAKER_02: He doesn't count them.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: Everybody, everybody can count everybody can get to 17 if you spirit.
- 10:55SPEAKER_02: It says Crash Davis guy is no star.
- 10:57SPEAKER_02: I should be on your show.
- 10:59SPEAKER_02: Sure, I haven't survived 17 airplane crashes like he has, but has he survived 17 mergers and acquisitions like I have?
- 11:08SPEAKER_02: I didn't think so.
- 11:09SPEAKER_02: I'm sort of a legend in the financial services world, and I think your audience would love my story of grit, determination, and ability to look busy.
- 11:18SPEAKER_02: It's not easy doing that for 17 new owners.
- 11:21SPEAKER_02: Well, I bet, I bet Delbert Schmuckle, if indeed that is your real name.
- 11:26SPEAKER_02: Uh I bet it's not.
- 11:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I but you know what, Steve?
- 11:30SPEAKER_01: I I'm sorry, you kind of lost me because the the plane crashes sounds so much more exciting than mergers.
- 11:36SPEAKER_01: Um now merger sounds like an interesting proposition, but that goes back to the previous uh letter that we just read.
- 11:43SPEAKER_02: But anyways, I oh yeah, oh yeah, you're you got the urge to merge there, you know.
- 11:47SPEAKER_02: Well, yeah, I do, I do.
- 11:49SPEAKER_02: And you know, I don't know that we can equate surviving a life-threatening thing like a plane crash.
- 11:56SPEAKER_02: I don't know that we can equate that with the threat level of say a layoff as a superfluous employee.
- 12:04SPEAKER_02: Is that the same thing?
- 12:05SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 12:05SPEAKER_02: I don't think so, Delbert.
- 12:07SPEAKER_02: I I don't know.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: I think there's I have a feeling there's a little more schmuck in you than schmuckle.
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: Schmuckle, yeah.
- 12:15SPEAKER_02: Well, and and and Delbert, you know, frankly, if we if we opened our show up to people that have survived multiple mergers and acquisitions, we'd have we'd have no time for anybody else.
- 12:24SPEAKER_02: Oh, please.
- 12:25SPEAKER_02: You know how many uh it's everywhere, it's everywhere.
- 12:28SPEAKER_02: It's like covet except earlier, but I digress.
- 12:31SPEAKER_02: But it was it was it was before before COVID was cool, that was cool.
- 12:36SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 12:36SPEAKER_01: That's right, completely.
- 12:37SPEAKER_01: So well, all right.
- 12:38SPEAKER_02: Well, Jeff, uh, I think you you got another one here now, too, don't you?
- 12:42SPEAKER_01: This one's for you, Steve.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: Ah hi guys, Oscar from Burbank, California.
- 12:47SPEAKER_01: Steve, who's been the best guest that you've had on over the years and why?
- 12:53SPEAKER_01: And I'll hang up for my answer.
- 12:56SPEAKER_01: Okay, so I guess he's on the phone.
- 12:58SPEAKER_02: Well, but that's good.
- 12:59SPEAKER_02: He's on the phone, not with us, but he's on the Oscar.
- 13:02SPEAKER_02: You should hang up.
- 13:03SPEAKER_02: Best guess.
- 13:04SPEAKER_02: You know, you know, Jeff.
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: You give your first you give yours, and then maybe I'll, if it's okay with Oscar, I'll give you one then I'll really like this.
- 13:10SPEAKER_02: I'm always I'm always a little reluctant because if I pick somebody, then the people I don't pick will be mad.
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: But it's I think it's easier for me, Steve, because it would be my dad.
- 13:20SPEAKER_02: Oh, but there you go.
- 13:22SPEAKER_01: I guess it's my fake dad.
- 13:23SPEAKER_01: Fake dad so Jerry.
- 13:25SPEAKER_02: We are gonna get real Jerry on this show.
- 13:27SPEAKER_02: I think I you know, I talked to a guy, I talked to a guy in the Illinois Department of Corrections, and I think we're I think we got an in.
- 13:34SPEAKER_02: I think we're gonna get him.
- 13:35SPEAKER_02: I don't know when, it's not next week, but I think we're gonna get him.
- 13:39SPEAKER_01: This is kind of a trick trick answer, but Steve, maybe your favorite might be somebody that's not born yet.
- 13:48SPEAKER_02: Oh, could be my new brother slash sister.
- 13:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah, slash slash child.
- 14:00SPEAKER_02: Could be, could be well, you know, I I could I suppose gosh, I hope my mom's not listening to this show because I should have picked her right away because she's gonna be mad that I didn't say right away, oh, of course my mom is my favorite guest.
- 14:16SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 14:16SPEAKER_02: Well, I my mom is my favorite guest, absolutely, and and maybe only to be surpassed by the new baby that my mom, believe it or not, even at her advanced age, she's old, and she's old.
- 14:29SPEAKER_02: I mean, we're old, and she's she's my mom, so she's even older, right?
- 14:32SPEAKER_02: You know, yeah.
- 14:33SPEAKER_02: She is having a baby with fo Jerry.
- 14:36SPEAKER_02: Yes, she is, and not not with four, I mean by fo Jerry.
- 14:39SPEAKER_02: Faux Jerry is like off doing whatever.
- 14:42SPEAKER_02: He he disappeared, he skipped town.
- 14:44SPEAKER_02: He's but yeah, but I digress.
- 14:46SPEAKER_02: She is having fo Jerry's baby, if you will.
- 14:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, she is.
- 14:49SPEAKER_01: I can't wait.
- 14:50SPEAKER_02: So we're gonna be sort of related, even though we're not really related to Faux Jerry.
- 14:55SPEAKER_02: It's like we're like four.
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: Well, yeah, there's that problem too.
- 14:58SPEAKER_01: But if it was my dad that was stooping your mom, yeah, and she got pregnant, would we be related?
- 15:04SPEAKER_01: We would be related.
- 15:05SPEAKER_02: We'd be related, yeah.
- 15:07SPEAKER_01: But I mean is there a name for that?
- 15:09SPEAKER_02: Uh it's like I think I I think it's called you know, partners in analysis, I think is what it's called.
- 15:15SPEAKER_02: Schmuckle?
- 15:15SPEAKER_02: Schmuckle could be schmuckles, yeah.
- 15:17SPEAKER_02: It might be schmuckles, could be the schmuckles, yeah.
- 15:19SPEAKER_02: The schmuckle family.
- 15:20SPEAKER_02: You know, in fact, maybe maybe that's what they'll name the baby.
- 15:23SPEAKER_02: I think that's that'd be a touching, beautiful, and poetic name for a little baby.
- 15:28SPEAKER_01: I agree.
- 15:29SPEAKER_01: I think that's muckle.
- 15:31SPEAKER_02: Schmucky.
- 15:32SPEAKER_01: If it's a if it's a girl, what would you what would you say?
- 15:35SPEAKER_01: Schmuck.
- 15:36SPEAKER_01: Schmuckle, schmuckel.
- 15:37SPEAKER_01: Schmuckle, yeah.
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: Schmuckle, schmuck girl.
- 15:40SPEAKER_02: It's just, you know, it's all the emphasis.
- 15:41SPEAKER_02: It's like it's like Mandarin, you know, it's just how you say it, you know.
- 15:44SPEAKER_02: But it's the same name.
- 15:45SPEAKER_02: This really is.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: Oh yes, it is.
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: Jeff, Jeff.
- 15:48SPEAKER_02: Jeff Ronneroll.
- 15:49SPEAKER_02: I let me let me let me read one here.
- 15:50SPEAKER_02: Oh, Jeff, this is okay.
- 15:52SPEAKER_02: Oh, oh.
- 15:52SPEAKER_02: This is from uh Migo Anananda, Migo Anananda of uh Taos Runoff, New Mexico.
- 16:00SPEAKER_02: Uh he writes, uh, love your show and especially loved John the Farmer.
- 16:04SPEAKER_02: He clearly, of course, remember we had John the Farmer on uh early the first part of the year talking about uh doing his winter weather predictions.
- 16:12SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 16:12SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 16:13SPEAKER_02: He clearly is gifted with second sight as California got heavy snow and Nebraska did not, just as he predicted.
- 16:21SPEAKER_02: I'd like to know if he's available for one-on-one readings or perhaps could do a phone reading for me.
- 16:27SPEAKER_02: You know, all there is to read on the phone are those numbers and then the letters next to the numbers, and then O says operator.
- 16:33SPEAKER_02: I wait, wait, what do you really need?
- 16:35SPEAKER_01: What does he want to read?
- 16:37SPEAKER_02: But I I digress.
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: But is this the weather report?
- 16:40SPEAKER_02: Farmer John, but no, this is he's I I'm well let's let's let's see.
- 16:43SPEAKER_02: I'm I'm struggling, I'm struggling in my startup.
- 16:46SPEAKER_02: I'm he says I'm struggling in my startup guru practice.
- 16:50SPEAKER_02: Okay, so he's he's looking to become a guru.
- 16:53SPEAKER_02: So he's got a startup guru practice, which I there's a startup on as a guru is always the tough part, you know, because it is like you you don't have the track record, it's just it's hard.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: And you get half of it, you get the goo part without the rue without the rue, yeah.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: I mean you gotta have both.
- 17:07SPEAKER_02: It's just goo, you know.
- 17:08SPEAKER_02: But uh struggling my startup guru practice, and I believe his insight could help me avoid the pharma dharma.
- 17:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, there's a lot of lots of pharma dharma going on out there.
- 17:20SPEAKER_02: Help me avoid the pharma dharma that my doctors keep prescribing.
- 17:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, can you put me in touch with him?
- 17:26SPEAKER_02: Short answer is no.
- 17:27SPEAKER_02: Uh John the farmer uh went back to the farm.
- 17:30SPEAKER_02: I think he's uh I think he's off um doing something different these days.
- 17:35SPEAKER_02: I think he's off uh doing predictions for uh like a sports betting service.
- 17:39SPEAKER_02: I think he got together with my you know, my uncle Sal up in Rogers Park, and I think I think they're doing like a sports betting thing.
- 17:45SPEAKER_02: But uh Migo, I I I think you're out of luck on that one, but boy, best of luck with your startup guru practice because I know there's nothing tougher than starting a guru practice.
- 17:57SPEAKER_01: Well, and I just my only comment about him is I don't know what the hell you're talking about with this stuff here.
- 18:02SPEAKER_02: So and you know, it to me, I just I hate to criticize our listeners, but it sounds to me like Migo doesn't really understand what he's talking about either.
- 18:11SPEAKER_02: I gotta tell you, you know.
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, totally.
- 18:13SPEAKER_01: So all right, so let's move on to one that maybe we can understand, yeah.
- 18:18SPEAKER_01: Okay, so this one has three questions.
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: Oh, this is related to the baby.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: Oh, oh we were talking about this is little schmuckle, yeah.
- 18:28SPEAKER_01: Little schmuck is a little timely or schmuckel.
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: Uh hi, Stephen Jeff.
- 18:33SPEAKER_01: Love the show.
- 18:34SPEAKER_01: Have a couple questions.
- 18:35SPEAKER_01: Looks like he has three questions, maybe.
- 18:37SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 18:38SPEAKER_01: Um, for that's more than a couple, isn't it?
- 18:40SPEAKER_01: Now uh-huh, it is.
- 18:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and for that, I I think we should just move on to the next question.
- 18:46SPEAKER_02: Well, no, no, it's about the baby.
- 18:48SPEAKER_02: Let's see what he says.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: It could be you gotta have standards here, Stephen.
- 18:51SPEAKER_01: It could be cute.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: All right, all right, all right.
- 18:54SPEAKER_02: One more chance, one more chance, one more chance, one more chance, and you know, yeah, if he if he blows it again, that's it.
- 18:59SPEAKER_01: That's it.
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: For Jeff, whatever happened to your father, that might strike two on you here, because I okay, it's a sensitive issue.
- 19:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you know, my dad has always been like that.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: My dad's been in prison basically his whole life.
- 19:11SPEAKER_01: I don't know why you're asking me what has happened to him.
- 19:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, what has happened to him?
- 19:16SPEAKER_02: He's been in jail, like like it that hasn't changed for like I don't know, since the 80s.
- 19:20SPEAKER_02: I mean, I don't know.
- 19:22SPEAKER_02: He's been away for a long time, hasn't he?
- 19:24SPEAKER_01: Oh, oh, okay.
- 19:25SPEAKER_01: Maybe I misunderstood it.
- 19:26SPEAKER_01: It says he hasn't been on the show for a long time, or is it your fake father?
- 19:31SPEAKER_01: And if so, what is where is your real father?
- 19:35SPEAKER_01: That these are complicated questions.
- 19:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you can't answer all these like well on a podcast.
- 19:40SPEAKER_02: You know, I think I think this listener is just not listening close enough because we have said many times that your real father is at Stateville Penitentiary in Joliet, Illinois, outside Joliet, Illinois.
- 19:52SPEAKER_02: That's not in doubt, it's just getting him on the show has been very difficult.
- 19:56SPEAKER_02: Fojerry is just is in the wind.
- 19:59SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 20:00SPEAKER_01: So that part two of his question has to do for you, Steve.
- 20:04SPEAKER_01: It says for Steve, a similar question.
- 20:07SPEAKER_02: Well, my dad's not in prison.
- 20:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he mows along a lot.
- 20:10SPEAKER_02: It's not a prison.
- 20:10SPEAKER_02: Nobody's gonna put him in prison for that.
- 20:12SPEAKER_02: I mean, yeah.
- 20:12SPEAKER_01: No, no.
- 20:13SPEAKER_01: Haven't heard your mom on the show since the holidays?
- 20:17SPEAKER_01: How is she doing and how's the pregnancy going?
- 20:20SPEAKER_02: Okay, this guy's maybe redeeming himself a little bit by asking about my mom and the pregnancy and saying, How's it going?
- 20:26SPEAKER_02: Haven't heard her.
- 20:27SPEAKER_02: Yes, well, she hasn't felt like doing a show lately, and I would love to get her on.
- 20:32SPEAKER_02: And maybe once she has the delivery, we can get her on.
- 20:35SPEAKER_02: She's probably gonna hit probably gonna deliver somewhere around, oh, I don't know.
- 20:40SPEAKER_02: Well, it's not too far off, probably about June, I think is her her due date, somewhere in there, June, July.
- 20:45SPEAKER_02: So hopefully we'll get her on somewhere after that.
- 20:48SPEAKER_02: But uh, she's doing fine.
- 20:50SPEAKER_02: I mean, I who would have thought that a lady in her 90s would handle a pregnancy so well.
- 20:55SPEAKER_02: Her, she's just she's right in there, she's doing great.
- 20:58SPEAKER_01: Well, and I I uh no offense, but I know we again we have rules, and I don't think that infants are allowed in the studio.
- 21:06SPEAKER_01: She may have to stay in the car, but you know, in June in Nebraska, that's no problem, right?
- 21:10SPEAKER_02: So yeah, no, have her stay the baby stay in the car, and yeah, we'll just leave the baby in the car, and you know, got to keep the windows closed because there are a lot of predators that go around, so you don't you might keep it locked and keep the windows up.
- 21:21SPEAKER_02: But if it's a typical summer day in Nebraska, roll up with the windows rolled up for a few hours, that'll be just fine.
- 21:28SPEAKER_01: Not a problem.
- 21:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no problem.
- 21:29SPEAKER_01: Not a problem.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: Okay, and then I got another question.
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: And one more for both of you.
- 21:34SPEAKER_01: Uh, do you know the sex of the new baby?
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: And have you picked out a name?
- 21:38SPEAKER_01: Maybe you should do a contest to pick one.
- 21:41SPEAKER_01: You know, I think we came up with that idea first, and I'm getting, you know, this guy's getting on my nerves.
- 21:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, yeah, but I mean, is he is he typing this in real time while he's listening to this?
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: This may have just come in, Steve.
- 21:53SPEAKER_02: I think he just came in.
- 21:55SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 21:55SPEAKER_02: Jeez, come on, and I'm trying to trying to claim credit for that.
- 21:59SPEAKER_02: That was your idea.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: I heard you say do a contest that would name the baby.
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 22:05SPEAKER_01: Or to name the baby's father.
- 22:06SPEAKER_02: Yes, exactly.
- 22:07SPEAKER_02: You could do either.
- 22:08SPEAKER_02: I'm a little disappointed with that listener, I gotta tell you.
- 22:11SPEAKER_01: Who is this guy?
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, where I'm gonna have to put him on the list, Steve.
- 22:14SPEAKER_01: Oh, he doesn't even say his name.
- 22:16SPEAKER_02: Oh, well, there you go.
- 22:17SPEAKER_01: Hi, Stephen Jeff.
- 22:18SPEAKER_01: Love the show.
- 22:19SPEAKER_02: Okay, you anonymous anonymous listener, you're on the list.
- 22:23SPEAKER_01: That's it.
- 22:24SPEAKER_01: No more anonymous listeners.
- 22:25SPEAKER_02: No more anonymous listeners.
- 22:26SPEAKER_01: All right, good.
- 22:28SPEAKER_02: Let me let me let me read one more, and I think I think we'll all understand this one.
- 22:32SPEAKER_02: I'll read one more, and then Jeff, I can we got a very exciting new sponsor tonight.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: So I can't wait.
- 22:37SPEAKER_02: But but I digress.
- 22:39SPEAKER_02: But ooh, this one has to do with uh Dwayne Newton.
- 22:42SPEAKER_02: Remember when he had Dwayne Newton on?
- 22:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah the uh Vegas lounge singer.
- 22:46SPEAKER_02: Well, this is from the uh Jack Flack agency of uh Paradise, Nevada.
- 22:52SPEAKER_02: Uh they write, uh let's see, we represent Las Vegas legend Wayne Newton, and that is how we would always introduce him.
- 22:58SPEAKER_02: We always said Las Vegas legend Wayne Newton because that's like his name, you know.
- 23:03SPEAKER_02: Uh we represent Las Vegas legend Wayne Newton, and we want to make it absolutely clear that he has no connection with and does not engage with his cousin Dwayne.
- 23:13SPEAKER_02: The rift is so severe that Mr.
- 23:15SPEAKER_02: Newton, the famous one, oh yeah, okay, has even has even stopped shopping at Kroger's just to avoid an accidental meeting.
- 23:25SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 23:26SPEAKER_02: Because you know, of course, Dwayne Newton is working the produce at at Kroger's.
- 23:31SPEAKER_02: We request a statement on your show that clarifies this lack of connection.
- 23:36SPEAKER_02: Well, uh yeah, Mr.
- 23:38SPEAKER_02: Flack, if indeed that is your real name, there's not a connection.
- 23:41SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 23:42SPEAKER_01: Okay, and but I do need to bring this up, Steve.
- 23:45SPEAKER_01: Uh I'm not a detective, but in this, I think Mr.
- 23:49SPEAKER_02: Jack Flash Flack He's a gas, I tell you.
- 23:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he says there's no connection at all between them, but he says the rift is so severe.
- 24:01SPEAKER_01: Let me just ask something, Steve.
- 24:02SPEAKER_01: If you don't have a connection, anybody, how can you have a rift?
- 24:06SPEAKER_02: If you have a rift, that means you have or have had a connection.
- 24:10SPEAKER_02: I'm just saying.
- 24:11SPEAKER_02: And I smell a rat.
- 24:13SPEAKER_02: I'm thinking, I'm thinking there's more to this than meets the eye.
- 24:16SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 24:17SPEAKER_02: You already gave him the the line, the statement.
- 24:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah, there's no connection.
- 24:21SPEAKER_02: Actually, Mr.
- 24:21SPEAKER_02: Flack, there's no connection between anything, right?
- 24:24SPEAKER_02: Nothing is connected.
- 24:25SPEAKER_01: None.
- 24:25SPEAKER_01: Nothing's unproved.
- 24:27SPEAKER_02: Nothing is meant, nothing's intended.
- 24:29SPEAKER_02: Okay, is that the only connection?
- 24:31SPEAKER_01: The only connection exception, Steve, would be uh the relationship between you and me.
- 24:36SPEAKER_02: And that's again, that's and it sounds like there might be some intentions there.
- 24:41SPEAKER_02: Is it Jeff?
- 24:42SPEAKER_02: You know, we've got a brand new sponsor, but it's sort of a repeat sponsor.
- 24:49SPEAKER_02: So I'm not sure.
- 24:50SPEAKER_02: I saw I rang both cash registers because I'm not sure what to do.
- 24:53SPEAKER_02: It's a place that deals with threads, it's a clothing store, but it's actually it's actually brought to you by those good people at, and they're good people on both sides, at Appropriation Station, you know, the Appropriation Station restaurant that advertised a show or two ago.
- 25:09SPEAKER_02: Well, they are branching out into other multi-ethnic and sort of Anglo ethnic things, and they have a beautiful idea for a used Indian clothing boutique.
- 25:21SPEAKER_02: And I think let's just uh let's just go to commercial.
- 25:25SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 25:26SPEAKER_02: Rising sorry prices have you stressed?
- 25:29SPEAKER_02: Save your sampatie, ladies, and still keep that trendy Mumbai style at the Metro's premier subcontinent secondhand clothing bazaar, Who's Sari Now?

- 26:32SPEAKER_02: Located in the corner of Ganges and Monsoon Avenue, right next to the buffet.
- 26:36SPEAKER_02: No, the other buffet.
- 26:38SPEAKER_02: Save money, and nobody will know your sorry isn't brand new.
- 26:41SPEAKER_02: Who's sorry now?
- 26:43SPEAKER_02: A proud appropriation station brand.
- 26:50SPEAKER_02: Well, I'll tell you, Jeff, they managed to combine Vedic Hindu thought and puns.
- 26:56SPEAKER_02: And then very obscure Sanskrit words.
- 27:01SPEAKER_02: You don't hear that in a lot of commercials.
- 27:03SPEAKER_02: I mean, I just very unique, very unique.
- 27:06SPEAKER_01: And sometimes I'm real slow on these puns, too.
- 27:08SPEAKER_01: So the who's sorry now, is that Patsy Klein?
- 27:12SPEAKER_02: Connie Stevens.
- 27:13SPEAKER_02: That was Connie Stevens.
- 27:14SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 27:15SPEAKER_02: I didn't know she was uh Hindu.
- 27:17SPEAKER_02: Well, it and and the Who's I should tell you now with it's not visual, but the Who's is W-H-O-S-E because it's a use sorry place, so it's who's sorry now, right?
- 27:28SPEAKER_02: Oh boy, not yours anymore because you know you you donated it to the sorry player.
- 27:34SPEAKER_02: So you're wearing somebody else's, so it's who's sorry now, right?
- 27:38SPEAKER_01: I gotcha.
- 27:39SPEAKER_01: Oh god, you know.
- 27:40SPEAKER_01: So maybe you can't tell the players without a program, you know.
- 27:43SPEAKER_01: It's like I sometimes I need that.
- 27:45SPEAKER_02: Well, and maybe that explains the puns in the commercial because it's a the whole thing's a pun, you know?
- 27:49SPEAKER_02: It's like a pun.
- 27:51SPEAKER_02: And I didn't even know pun was like Hindu, but I guess it is pun like punjab, maybe.
- 27:56SPEAKER_02: I don't know, but yeah, same thing.
- 27:58SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 27:59SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 27:59SPEAKER_01: Every time you say the word pun, it sounds even more you're you're looking to pull that thread, aren't you?
- 28:04SPEAKER_00: I am I'm looking to pull that thread is that thread is that thread's just dang dangling there.
- 28:11SPEAKER_02: It's just dangling right from the elbow and just ooh, right.
- 28:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I wish.
- 28:17SPEAKER_00: But yes, it is dangling.
- 28:19SPEAKER_02: Well, Jeff, Jeff, you know, let's let's get back to our listeners because the listeners are really what makes this show what it is.
- 28:26SPEAKER_02: And oh my goodness, Jeff, you know who yeah, I've got one here.
- 28:30SPEAKER_02: Not just a listener, but a former guest.
- 28:33SPEAKER_02: This is from mode.
- 28:34SPEAKER_02: Well, no, no, he's damn it.
- 28:37SPEAKER_02: We're still working on that, but this is from motivational speaker Tony Zigfield.
- 28:43SPEAKER_02: Remember Tony?
- 28:44SPEAKER_02: The the silent one, the silent guy that didn't talk.
- 28:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he didn't, he wouldn't talk because we didn't pay him to hit the keyboards, you know.
- 28:52SPEAKER_02: But he he's still hitting the keyboards because he wrote this in.
- 28:55SPEAKER_02: He says, uh dear Stephen Jeff, as you know, I was not pleased with your non-payment for my appearance on your show.
- 29:01SPEAKER_02: I had no idea he was not pleased.
- 29:03SPEAKER_02: I thought he wasn't talking because you know, I don't know, he had a sore throat or something, but I digressed, Mr.
- 29:10SPEAKER_02: Zigfield.
- 29:11SPEAKER_02: Uh, however, since that appearance, I have been deluged or deluged.
- 29:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you're never sure how to pronounce that one.
- 29:17SPEAKER_02: Deluge.
- 29:18SPEAKER_02: I'll say deluged.
- 29:20SPEAKER_02: You've been deluged with messages from your listeners asking for copies of my book, only you are you.
- 29:27SPEAKER_02: Oh man.
- 29:28SPEAKER_02: And only he could say that.
- 29:29SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
- 29:30SPEAKER_02: And for speaking engagements.
- 29:32SPEAKER_02: Because so many of your fans are interested in my work, I would agree to appear on your show again as long as we can work out some form of compensation in advance.
- 29:42SPEAKER_02: That could be interesting, Mr.
- 29:43SPEAKER_02: Zigfel.
- 29:44SPEAKER_02: Perhaps you could buy 10,000 copies of my next book.
- 29:47SPEAKER_02: I'll have my publisher get in touch.
- 29:49SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 29:50SPEAKER_01: Here's here's the phone number 708.
- 29:52SPEAKER_01: Fuck you.
- 29:53SPEAKER_01: We're not gonna do that.
- 29:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so that is seven, that is seven numbers.
- 29:57SPEAKER_01: Is that seven?
- 29:58SPEAKER_02: That is seven numbers, yes.
- 29:59SPEAKER_02: And uh, you know, Mr.
- 30:01SPEAKER_02: Zigfeld, I say yes, why don't you have your people call my people?
- 30:04SPEAKER_02: And uh it'll be Tippi, you know, our producer that does the booking.
- 30:08SPEAKER_01: And uh U C K Y U.
- 30:12SPEAKER_02: No, there's a no.
- 30:13SPEAKER_02: I mean it's you know, yeah, no, it works, it works.
- 30:16SPEAKER_02: Hey, okay, thanks.
- 30:17SPEAKER_02: But but yeah, have them call go ahead and call Tippy.
- 30:20SPEAKER_02: Tippy will tell you and Tyler too, and and Tyler too.
- 30:23SPEAKER_02: That's right.
- 30:24SPEAKER_02: Tyler, both of them will tell you.
- 30:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah, just exactly what Jeff just told.
- 30:28SPEAKER_02: I don't think it's gonna happen, Tony.
- 30:29SPEAKER_02: But uh you keep writing those amazing books like the only the finger is a finger.
- 30:34SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh.
- 30:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, uh, just you just keep saying those profound things, Tony.
- 30:38SPEAKER_02: It's just it's just amazing.
- 30:39SPEAKER_01: But but I yeah, good luck, Tony.
- 30:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, okay.
- 30:42SPEAKER_01: Good evening, Steve and Jeff.
- 30:44SPEAKER_01: This is Joyce from Iowa City, Iowa.
- 30:47SPEAKER_01: Eric, if did you go to school there, Steve?
- 30:49SPEAKER_02: I I did.
- 30:49SPEAKER_02: I went to school there.
- 30:50SPEAKER_01: I wonder if Iowa City University.
- 30:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah, University of Iowa.
- 30:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 30:56SPEAKER_01: Oh, University of Iowa, okay.
- 30:57SPEAKER_01: All right, well, then maybe you know her.
- 30:59SPEAKER_02: Well, Joyce.
- 31:00SPEAKER_02: Do you remember Joyce?
- 31:01SPEAKER_02: Is she old?
- 31:02SPEAKER_02: If she's not old, I probably don't know her.
- 31:04SPEAKER_01: I say so.
- 31:06SPEAKER_01: She says, I actually have never heard of your show before, but for some reason my Alexa keeps telling me to listen.
- 31:14SPEAKER_01: I've tried to ignore her, but she has threatened to out me and inflict bodily harm if I don't listen to the Stephen Jeff show.
- 31:24SPEAKER_01: Kind of freaks me out, but thought you might know how to get her to stop.
- 31:29SPEAKER_01: And if not, what is your show like?
- 31:32SPEAKER_01: And can you recommend an episode to listen to since I have to become a listener?
- 31:38SPEAKER_02: Good attitude, though.
- 31:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you think yeah, I think about that.
- 31:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think it's very important that she feels like she has to be a listener because Alexa is telling her that this is important.
- 31:48SPEAKER_02: And I think the way to stop Alexa, I mean, I don't know that we want to do that because maybe that's the only reason she's gonna listen to our show.
- 31:56SPEAKER_02: But if she does want to stop Alexa, I think it's just Alexa, stop.
- 32:00SPEAKER_02: Alexa, stop breathing.
- 32:02SPEAKER_02: There you go.
- 32:03SPEAKER_02: Alexa, jump off the building.
- 32:04SPEAKER_02: Alexa, you know, I just I there are ways to get rid of Alexa, you know, you know what I'm saying?
- 32:09SPEAKER_02: You could you could unplug it.
- 32:11SPEAKER_02: Uh there'd be one.
- 32:12SPEAKER_02: That would be that would be a method.
- 32:13SPEAKER_02: That would be a way to do it.
- 32:14SPEAKER_02: That would be a method.
- 32:15SPEAKER_02: And and Jeff, there, I I I think there's a trend because I've got some I've got one from somebody that says he's not a listener to the podcast either.
- 32:23SPEAKER_02: Look at this.
- 32:24SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 32:25SPEAKER_02: What's going on here?
- 32:26SPEAKER_02: This is from uh someone named Eric T from West Palm Beach, Florida.
- 32:31SPEAKER_02: Uh he writes, uh, I don't listen to your podcast as I have heard it is just another fake show.
- 32:37SPEAKER_02: Well, you know, we we don't make any pretense about making this up as we go along.
- 32:43SPEAKER_02: We tell you it's an improvised show.
- 32:45SPEAKER_02: And Eric T, I don't know if you know what an improvised show is, but an improvised show is one that is made up as you go along.
- 32:51SPEAKER_02: That is what that's but I digress.
- 32:54SPEAKER_02: I you know, I sometimes, Jeff, sometimes some some of these listeners, but but anyway, I don't listen to your podcast as I have heard it's just another fake show.
- 33:02SPEAKER_02: But since you have so many devoted fans, I am reaching out.
- 33:05SPEAKER_02: Well, he does have sense to do that.
- 33:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah, certain recent events have led me to believe that some people plan on making me the fall guy in various criminal and civil legal actions.
- 33:18SPEAKER_02: Now we're talking.
- 33:19SPEAKER_02: I have a I have a complete defense that I would like to explain on your show, since I think getting it on the record could save me.
- 33:28SPEAKER_02: My sister may be interested in appearing too, although she isn't returning my calls.
- 33:33SPEAKER_02: Oh, well, this could this could go bad for you there, Eric.
- 33:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah, my emails are monitored, so don't respond.
- 33:41SPEAKER_02: I will contact you again from a secure location.
- 33:45SPEAKER_02: In fact, I can use a top secret secure phone that I found around the house.
- 33:50SPEAKER_02: Well, I I bet you did there, Eric.
- 33:52SPEAKER_02: Well, uh, you know, Eric, uh great to have you, uh interested in the show.
- 33:56SPEAKER_02: And uh yeah, feel free to call.
- 33:59SPEAKER_02: Uh can't promise you anything, but hey, if your story is if your story is as interesting as some of our guests, Jeff, maybe we will have him on.
- 34:06SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 34:07SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 34:07SPEAKER_01: And he's he sounds like an intense guy, but I like his lead up.
- 34:13SPEAKER_01: I like what he kind of led us to believe.
- 34:16SPEAKER_01: You know, the guy that wants to be the guru, the one that uh oh yeah, the guru on the Nanda.
- 34:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, whatever his name was.
- 34:23SPEAKER_01: It should take a uh a lesson from uh from this guy because this guy, this guy has it together.
- 34:29SPEAKER_01: He's got me on the edge, wondering what's there, right?
- 34:33SPEAKER_01: You know, exactly.
- 34:34SPEAKER_02: What's his defense?
- 34:35SPEAKER_02: What are the criminal charges?
- 34:36SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 34:37SPEAKER_02: What about this top secret phone?
- 34:40SPEAKER_02: You know, yeah.
- 34:41SPEAKER_02: I'm now I'm interested.
- 34:42SPEAKER_01: Oh, oh, here's a two-parter.
- 34:44SPEAKER_01: Uh hi, Steven Jeff.
- 34:46SPEAKER_01: This is Gretchen from Peoria, Illinois, originally, but I also went to high school in Urbana.
- 34:51SPEAKER_01: Wait a minute.
- 34:53SPEAKER_02: She may know both of us.
- 34:54SPEAKER_02: My goodness.
- 34:55SPEAKER_01: Your show is pretty good, especially for a couple of guys who don't seem to really understand women.
- 35:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think we've seen we've met her before.
- 35:02SPEAKER_02: See?
- 35:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah, she knows us.
- 35:04SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 35:04SPEAKER_01: It's getting getting a little more familiar.
- 35:06SPEAKER_01: Uh, a couple of things I have wondered about.
- 35:09SPEAKER_01: How long have you known each other?
- 35:11SPEAKER_01: How did you first meet?
- 35:13SPEAKER_01: Did each of you meet?
- 35:15SPEAKER_01: Did each of you go to the red herring coffee show um around 1970?
- 35:21SPEAKER_01: And have you ever slept with the same person before?
- 35:24SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 35:25SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 35:26SPEAKER_01: Let's flip the cards over.
- 35:28SPEAKER_01: Who is this?
- 35:29SPEAKER_01: This is Gretchen.
- 35:30SPEAKER_02: You know, you know, and and Gretchen, I just, you know, I I hate to criticize listeners, as you know, as you know, but but you know, Gretchen, if you really listen to the show, you'd know the answer to some of those questions.
- 35:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 35:42SPEAKER_02: Like you would know how long we've known each other.
- 35:44SPEAKER_02: You would know how we met, right?
- 35:45SPEAKER_02: You're just not listening to the episodes there, Gretchen, or you're not listening closely enough.
- 35:50SPEAKER_01: And if by chance the three of us were involved, I think it's pretty clear that I was probably doing it just to get to know C better.
- 35:57SPEAKER_02: I I think so.
- 35:58SPEAKER_02: I think so.
- 35:59SPEAKER_02: And no offense, Gretchen.
- 36:00SPEAKER_02: I was I was interested in in someone named Gretchen many years ago, and uh it was only because, well, she she drove an impala, and you know, you know what that does.
- 36:10SPEAKER_02: You know what that does to be.
- 36:11SPEAKER_01: Well, Gretchen doesn't because she doesn't listen to our show.
- 36:13SPEAKER_02: Well, there you go.
- 36:14SPEAKER_02: See, Gretchen, you know all about this.
- 36:16SPEAKER_02: I mean probably not from Peori anyway.
- 36:18SPEAKER_02: Wow, yeah, Peorian went to high school in her band.
- 36:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah, right.
- 36:21SPEAKER_02: She's probably from from Mississippi or somewhere.
- 36:25SPEAKER_02: Danville.
- 36:26SPEAKER_02: Danville, even worse.
- 36:28SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it could be worse.
- 36:29SPEAKER_02: I've got one here, Pepper Freserman from Sturfry, Kentucky.
- 36:34SPEAKER_02: Pepper Freserman, that is a perky little name there, isn't it?
- 36:37SPEAKER_02: Pepper Fresserman, Stir Fry, Kentucky.
- 36:39SPEAKER_02: Uh, she writes, uh, Stephen Jeff, love your show.
- 36:42SPEAKER_02: I was really transformed by Chloe Montemayor's Valentine's Day show on aromanticism.
- 36:49SPEAKER_02: Oh, and I think everyone should listen.
- 36:51SPEAKER_02: If you haven't listened to that show, ladies and gentlemen, you need to listen to the show.
- 36:55SPEAKER_02: You need to listen to that show and and actually the one a week ago where we had Chloe back.
- 37:01SPEAKER_02: Oh, you need to listen to both of them.
- 37:03SPEAKER_02: But I digress.
- 37:04SPEAKER_02: This is Pepper again.
- 37:05SPEAKER_02: Personally, I am not a romantic as I've been married six times.
- 37:10SPEAKER_02: I clearly believe in romance, sir.
- 37:12SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 37:13SPEAKER_02: But she got me thinking I think I am a nutritional.
- 37:17SPEAKER_02: Or in other words, a human who does not need to eat.
- 37:21SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 37:22SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 37:23SPEAKER_02: Food is such a needed resource in so much of the world that I think those of us with a lot of food should just stop eating and send our food to people still tied to the eat-digest cycle of addiction.
- 37:36SPEAKER_02: Sorry, gotta run.
- 37:38SPEAKER_02: Almost dinner time.
- 37:39SPEAKER_02: Oh, well, well, Pepper, stay in touch, Pepper, and w let us know how that anutritional life style is going for you.
- 37:48SPEAKER_02: Because I I think I think there might be a brick wall somewhere in there, and I I don't know where.
- 37:53SPEAKER_02: I just think the problem is none of us know where.
- 37:56SPEAKER_01: No, and one more thing, Steve.
- 37:58SPEAKER_01: Remember, we talked about how the names match their professions or their personalities, like if you were like Joe Banker is actually a banker, you know, that kind of stuff.
- 38:08SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 38:09SPEAKER_01: Well, what's this person's first name?
- 38:10SPEAKER_01: Pepper.
- 38:11SPEAKER_01: Pepper.
- 38:12SPEAKER_01: It's a spice, it's a food.
- 38:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 38:15SPEAKER_01: Here you go.
- 38:16SPEAKER_01: This is you know, this uh new a nutritionalist thing is and and makes a lot of sense.
- 38:21SPEAKER_02: And look at her, look at her last name too, Fresserman.
- 38:24SPEAKER_02: I'm not a big like linguist, but isn't that like Yiddish for like a guy that eats a lot?
- 38:29SPEAKER_02: Oh, that could be.
- 38:31SPEAKER_02: I mean, you know, and maybe maybe that's why she's a nutritional, because she's rebelling psychologically against the name that is putting her in a box of eating spicy food where she doesn't want to be in that box, and so she's rebelling.
- 38:45SPEAKER_02: She could just change your name.
- 38:46SPEAKER_01: Would she change it to salt?
- 38:48SPEAKER_02: She changed it to salt fresherman, uh-huh, which could be shortened to Salt Fresherman, and then then she figured out nobody would think to think twice about it, right?
- 38:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely.
- 38:57SPEAKER_02: See, it's just it's a double standard.
- 38:58SPEAKER_02: See, Sal, nobody would think twice, right?
- 39:01SPEAKER_01: This is somebody who's written to us before, it looks like a familiar name.
- 39:04SPEAKER_01: This is from Jeffrey D from Milwaukee.
- 39:08SPEAKER_02: Oh, yes.
- 39:08SPEAKER_01: Does that ring a bell?
- 39:09SPEAKER_02: Uh, it does.
- 39:10SPEAKER_02: I think he has written before, yes.
- 39:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think so.
- 39:12SPEAKER_01: Love the show, and specifically the zany characters you play.
- 39:17SPEAKER_01: Especially love the one where Jeff is Charles Manson and you are Eddie Munster, and decide to open a daycare center together.
- 39:26SPEAKER_01: I laughed my ass off.
- 39:28SPEAKER_02: Wait, we never we never aired that sketch because it was the skin.
- 39:32SPEAKER_01: It was implied.
- 39:33SPEAKER_01: It was kind of implied.
- 39:35SPEAKER_01: Only the high-level listeners picked up on the the whole Manson Eddie Munster thing.
- 39:41SPEAKER_02: It just was funny, but it did, you know, it just is like people people were a little shocked by the whole thing.
- 39:47SPEAKER_02: You know, it's I don't know.
- 39:48SPEAKER_02: But anyway, but I digress.
- 39:50SPEAKER_02: Go ahead.
- 39:50SPEAKER_01: Then he says, uh, where did you come up with these crazy ideas?
- 39:54SPEAKER_01: Uh, any new ones you plan to introduce in the future?
- 39:57SPEAKER_01: Can't wait.
- 39:57SPEAKER_01: You know, we have some new ones, but again, it they're subtle.
- 40:02SPEAKER_01: They're you know, they're in code.
- 40:03SPEAKER_01: I'm not even gonna comment whether those are whether he's right or not.
- 40:06SPEAKER_01: I think it's more speculation, you know.
- 40:08SPEAKER_01: Yes, it's Paul Dead kind of stuff.
- 40:11SPEAKER_02: Well, and it and and it's eye of the beholder.
- 40:13SPEAKER_02: The eye or the tiger, the tiger as beholder.
- 40:16SPEAKER_02: Yes, behold the tiger.
- 40:18SPEAKER_02: Yes, yes, tiger, tiger beholding bright.
- 40:20SPEAKER_02: Yes, it's it's all that.
- 40:22SPEAKER_02: It's all that and and more.
- 40:24SPEAKER_01: I love when you cite poetry to me.
- 40:27SPEAKER_02: I yeah, and Jeff, it's that it's a thread.
- 40:29SPEAKER_01: I can't get my hands off this thread.
- 40:31SPEAKER_02: It's a thread, you know.
- 40:32SPEAKER_02: I can see it, it it's dangling.
- 40:34SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 40:36SPEAKER_00: Love when you say that.
- 40:37SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 40:37SPEAKER_00: Well, so uh Jeff uh Europe.
- 40:39SPEAKER_02: Jeff, I got I got I got one here from another guy who had who had been a guest on the show, not just a listener, but had been a guest.
- 40:47SPEAKER_02: You remember Ted McConnell, who was running for the unicameral here in Nebraska?
- 40:51SPEAKER_01: Is he a Democrat or Republican?
- 40:53SPEAKER_02: Well, I think he was a Republican.
- 40:55SPEAKER_02: I do remember that.
- 40:56SPEAKER_02: Remember we had him on?
- 40:57SPEAKER_02: We had him on.
- 40:57SPEAKER_02: I do.
- 40:58SPEAKER_02: Ted writes, Ted of Omaha, Nebraska, writes, uh, hello, Steve and Jeff.
- 41:02SPEAKER_02: It has been several months since I was on your show, and I must thank you for the opportunity to get in front of so many voters.
- 41:10SPEAKER_02: As you probably know, I won the election by a wide margin, thanks to people like you and to my party's heavy-duty gerrymandering of districts.
- 41:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, you know, every little bit helps, right?
- 41:21SPEAKER_02: You know, yeah.
- 41:22SPEAKER_02: Uh now that I am your senator, Steve, I must let you know that I am sponsoring a bill requiring state legislative approval of all podcast content produced or listened to in our state.
- 41:35SPEAKER_02: Ooh.
- 41:36SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 41:36SPEAKER_02: So finally, finally get somebody to listen to us.
- 41:40SPEAKER_02: So like don't say exactly all these state people will be listening.
- 41:43SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 41:44SPEAKER_02: That's like thousands.
- 41:45SPEAKER_02: So I guess it's like don't say funny.
- 41:47SPEAKER_02: It's the don't say funny bill.
- 41:49SPEAKER_02: Are you okay?
- 41:49SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 41:50SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 41:51SPEAKER_02: Um, you must know that none of my colleagues will object to anything one of us says, however ridiculous.
- 41:57SPEAKER_02: Well, I you know, I I do know that.
- 41:59SPEAKER_02: And the other side has too few votes to stop us.
- 42:03SPEAKER_02: Try to stop it in the courts if you like, but I must let you know we have stacked those courts for decades.
- 42:09SPEAKER_02: Please submit for approval all future content to the address below.
- 42:12SPEAKER_02: And he gives like a post office box in Lincoln.
- 42:14SPEAKER_01: It's like, wow, you know, turned into a little bit of a dick.
- 42:19SPEAKER_02: We're becoming, I don't know, Hungary or Argentina or or Florida or somewhere.
- 42:23SPEAKER_02: I mean, I don't know.
- 42:24SPEAKER_02: You know, this Jeff, we may have to move states.
- 42:26SPEAKER_02: We may have to move the situs of this of this podcast, you know.
- 42:30SPEAKER_01: I'm ready to go.
- 42:31SPEAKER_01: I I mean, here we did, we got him elected.
- 42:33SPEAKER_01: Did you vote for him?
- 42:34SPEAKER_01: Well, no, no.
- 42:35SPEAKER_01: Okay, you probably weren't even in his district by the time they were done.
- 42:38SPEAKER_02: Well, I yeah, I'm not sure I was.
- 42:40SPEAKER_02: I there were some names on the ballot, but I don't remember who they were.
- 42:43SPEAKER_01: And I think I remember, you know, the guests on the show, and I don't think they appeared on my well, and I think bottom line here is that you should never vote or you would be blamed for the consequences.
- 42:54SPEAKER_02: Well, that's exactly it.
- 42:55SPEAKER_02: You know, either way, you're gonna get blamed, right?
- 42:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but in this case, you didn't vote for this guy, and if this guy, you know, I'm still getting blamed.
- 43:03SPEAKER_01: Look at this, and you're getting blamed.
- 43:04SPEAKER_01: I'm still getting blamed.
- 43:06SPEAKER_01: But if this guy turns out to be like a a big dick, you could say, I didn't vote for you.
- 43:11SPEAKER_01: You see what I'm saying?
- 43:12SPEAKER_02: That's exactly right.
- 43:13SPEAKER_01: And so, yeah, nobody will believe it, but we could say it.
- 43:17SPEAKER_02: Because he's on the show.
- 43:18SPEAKER_02: Well, he's on the show, so let me go.
- 43:20SPEAKER_02: You promoted this guy, yeah.
- 43:22SPEAKER_02: Gosh, submitting our podcast for approval by the state.
- 43:25SPEAKER_02: Wow, that just wow.
- 43:27SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 43:28SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna have to think about that.
- 43:29SPEAKER_02: You you you got another email there, Jeff?
- 43:30SPEAKER_01: That was I have one more.
- 43:32SPEAKER_01: I think that's a little of the night.
- 43:34SPEAKER_01: Is this the last one?
- 43:34SPEAKER_02: It's gotta be uh we need something a little lighter than that heavy, heavy hobnail boot of Ted McConnell here.
- 43:42SPEAKER_01: So let's see what uh this one is.
- 43:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, maybe this will help.
- 43:46SPEAKER_01: Hi, Stephen Jeff.
- 43:47SPEAKER_01: This is Sandra B from Austin, Texas.
- 43:51SPEAKER_01: Uh I I had both of my legs amputated.
- 43:55SPEAKER_01: I'm in prison and pregnant.
- 43:56SPEAKER_01: Oh, I'm sorry.
- 43:57SPEAKER_02: This kid.
- 43:58SPEAKER_02: Oh, this is this is.
- 44:00SPEAKER_02: Much more, much more a PO.
- 44:02SPEAKER_01: Much more.
- 44:02SPEAKER_01: All right, let's try this again.
- 44:03SPEAKER_01: Already, I already like it about it Jeff.
- 44:06SPEAKER_01: This is Sandra B from Austin, Texas.
- 44:08SPEAKER_01: One question is this question is for Jeff.
- 44:11SPEAKER_01: Jeff, I understand you're Jewish.
- 44:13SPEAKER_01: So this is a medical question, not a legal one.
- 44:17SPEAKER_02: Because you know, I have you're Jewish, so you must be a doctor, right?
- 44:21SPEAKER_01: Jeff, I understand that you're Jewish.
- 44:23SPEAKER_01: Okay, this is a medical question.
- 44:25SPEAKER_01: I have a suspicious mole just under my arm, and I'm kind of worried that it might be serious.
- 44:32SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 44:33SPEAKER_02: My moles, I I leave mine out in the yard, and I just call the exterminator.
- 44:37SPEAKER_02: She's got one under her arm.
- 44:38SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh, that must hurt.
- 44:40SPEAKER_02: I mean, they bite, they chew right through.
- 44:42SPEAKER_02: I mean, but I digress.
- 44:44SPEAKER_02: Go ahead.
- 44:44SPEAKER_01: And wouldn't you say most moles are serious?
- 44:47SPEAKER_01: Because very few are funny.
- 44:48SPEAKER_02: Oh, I I've not seen a funny mole.
- 44:50SPEAKER_02: They're mostly real serious.
- 44:52SPEAKER_02: They're very serious.
- 44:54SPEAKER_01: Anyways, I first noticed it when working at the meat plant about two weeks ago.
- 45:00SPEAKER_01: Um, what do you think it could be?
- 45:02SPEAKER_01: And now that I'm thinking about it, maybe it's a legal question to your thoughts.
- 45:07SPEAKER_02: Well, you know, moles are, I think, meat eaters.
- 45:10SPEAKER_02: So maybe that's where she got the mole.
- 45:12SPEAKER_02: Maybe it burrowed through the ground and smelled the meat and burrowed up to eat the meat.
- 45:19SPEAKER_01: I hate these discussions around dinner time.
- 45:21SPEAKER_01: I'm so hungry.
- 45:22SPEAKER_01: I'm wondering about her intro.
- 45:23SPEAKER_02: It's like, is there something uniquely Jewish about moles burrowing through a yard?
- 45:29SPEAKER_01: You know, Steve, I don't understand her point on that.
- 45:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 45:32SPEAKER_02: I mean, I I I don't get that.
- 45:34SPEAKER_01: There's really no reference.
- 45:35SPEAKER_01: All I can assume, Steve, is it's really a reference to the fact that these moles must be in locations that Jews tend to frequent.
- 45:44SPEAKER_02: Ah, you know, like delis and synagogues and you know, things where you see, yeah, right.
- 45:51SPEAKER_01: That's all I can tell.
- 45:52SPEAKER_01: I mean, unless she's saying that that I'm a doctor, but anyways.
- 45:55SPEAKER_02: Hey Jeff, if you're a doctor, listen, I I've had this pain over here.
- 45:59SPEAKER_02: I just I, you know, it's a only when I do this, you know, it's really you know, most of the time it's not bad, but but well, well, Jeff, you know, that was that was I think it's great that we were able to take a show and kind of give it back to the listeners, give it back to the people, give it back to the populace, give it back to sometimes we don't want it.
- 46:17SPEAKER_02: You know, they probably don't want it either through it away.
- 46:19SPEAKER_02: They're gonna give they're gonna throw it back, and so we'll take it back and we'll have a guest next week.
- 46:23SPEAKER_02: But you know, this I think it's good to have one of these every now and again just to see what's on the mind of the people, what's really going on in their heads and with their hands and with those threads.
- 46:35SPEAKER_02: Get me started.
- 46:36SPEAKER_02: Hey Jeff, I I I think they're gonna I thought that engineers getting up.
- 46:41SPEAKER_02: I think they really are physically gonna kick us out of our studios today.
- 46:45SPEAKER_02: I gotta tell you.

- 47:08SPEAKER_01: Do you know and and the important part of that, Steve, is that that reference is only going to be picked up by what?
- 47:14SPEAKER_01: I think a quarter of a percent of people are still.
- 47:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah, if you're under you're if you're under 60, you probably don't get that.
- 47:21SPEAKER_02: But you know, uh if you're over 60, it's hilarious.
- 47:24SPEAKER_01: Yes, some people would accuse us of targeting our audience and coming up with stuff, you know, just zeroing in on that 85 to 95.
- 47:36SPEAKER_02: Well, that is a hot demographic.
- 47:38SPEAKER_02: They're big purchasers of infant items, you know, of baby, baby care items.
- 47:42SPEAKER_02: Uh and it's it's not I I Jeff, I think it's less targeting.
- 47:46SPEAKER_02: I don't think we're consciously doing that.
- 47:47SPEAKER_02: I think it's just we're old.
- 47:49SPEAKER_02: And so that's that's how we talk.
- 47:52SPEAKER_02: So then that's you know, you know what I mean?
- 47:54SPEAKER_02: It's it's just kind of natural.
- 47:56SPEAKER_02: I do, you know.
- 47:57SPEAKER_02: I don't think we really set out, but maybe we did.
- 47:59SPEAKER_02: I don't if we did, great idea because they are the they are the buying power of the world.
- 48:05SPEAKER_02: Everybody thinks it's kids.
- 48:06SPEAKER_02: Oh no, no, no, it's that 85-year-old demographic.
- 48:09SPEAKER_02: Yes, that's right.
- 48:10SPEAKER_02: They are the buyers, that's where all the money is.
- 48:12SPEAKER_01: They built this country, they built the railroads.
