- 0:58Speaker 3: To leave your worries outside and laugh with us inside
- 1:02Speaker 3: the tree house.
- 1:03Speaker 2: I'm Dan O'Malley along with trade trend home.
- 1:06Speaker 3: And you know, this is usually the part of the
- 1:07Speaker 3: show where I would tease things that are coming up
- 1:11Speaker 3: in the show, but I am so distracted by you
- 1:15Speaker 3: trade doing the unthinkable that I'm just skipping all four
- 1:19Speaker 3: Maddox and jumping straight into this. What the hell's wrong
- 1:23Speaker 3: with you?
- 1:23Speaker 1: I mean, that's all right. Do you, You're going to
- 1:30Speaker 1: have to be a little more specific.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Fair point.
- 1:38Speaker 3: I realize you have been sober now for over 10 years,
- 1:42Speaker 3: but do you really think it's a good idea to
- 1:45Speaker 3: test that sobriety by operating at a food tent at
- 1:51Speaker 3: the State Fair of Texas?
- 1:58Speaker 2: Yes.
- 2:01Speaker 3: I mean, this feels like a conversation with your sponsor.
- 2:05Speaker 3: I feel like before you agree to work a food
- 2:09Speaker 3: tent at the State Fair of Texas, your sponsor at
- 2:12Speaker 3: AA should have to sign off on that, right?
- 2:14Speaker 2: Because that just seems like people are going to want
- 2:15Speaker 2: to drink after that.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Ironically, I ended up in this through a connection in AA.
- 2:22Speaker 2: What is this?
- 2:23Speaker 3: Is there some weird thing of Alcoholics Anonymous where you've
- 2:26Speaker 3: made it so far that they then just test you
- 2:28Speaker 3: on purpose?
- 2:31Speaker 2: Let's see if we can push them off the wagon.
- 2:34Speaker 1: I got approached by the people that... Mutual friends. They
- 2:42Speaker 1: have a chicken place. It started in Georgia. Then they
- 2:45Speaker 1: had one here. They recently closed it down because the
- 2:47Speaker 1: landlord doubled the rent. But it's called Palmer's Hot Chicken.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Excellent place. And they operate a food booth at the fair. And...
- 3:00Speaker 1: approached myself and my friend amy uh who you know
- 3:03Speaker 1: very well who's worked with and for me for decades
- 3:07Speaker 1: and uh at first when they first approached i was
- 3:11Speaker 1: like yeah you know it'd be fun just saturday and
- 3:13Speaker 1: sunday why not.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Someone approaches you about working a food booth at the
- 3:22Speaker 3: state fair of texas on opening weekend and your responses.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Throughout the fair throughout the fair Not just opening weekend.
- 3:31Speaker 2: And your response is, why not?
- 3:34Speaker 1: Again, at the time, it sounded, I don't know why
- 3:39Speaker 1: it sounded like fun. You know, I was like, good
- 3:43Speaker 1: people watch. And I, opening weekend of the, you know,
- 3:48Speaker 1: the fair is one of those things, it gains momentum.
- 3:50Speaker 1: So it's, it starts off kind of slow and then,
- 3:54Speaker 1: but also it was so miserably hot. Especially on Sunday.
- 4:04Speaker 1: But it was good people watching, entertaining.
- 4:08Speaker 3: You're listing off reasons why I go to the fair,
- 4:12Speaker 3: not why I would ever choose to work a food booth.
- 4:18Speaker 1: It was one of those, I've never done that. I've
- 4:20Speaker 1: known people who did it. It was stupid. Thank you.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Thank you for admitting that.
- 4:28Speaker 3: If you could admit you're an alcoholic, you can surely
- 4:31Speaker 3: admit you were stupid to agree to work a food
- 4:34Speaker 3: booth at the state fair.
- 4:35Speaker 1: I found myself regretting my decision yesterday on Sunday that
- 4:40Speaker 1: I was like, what exactly? You know, it really was
- 4:43Speaker 1: one of those. What was I thinking at the time
- 4:45Speaker 1: that I thought this was a good idea?
- 4:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:48Speaker 3: So was the food booth Palmer's hot chicken or was the.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Food booth something else? Okay.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Palmer's hot chicken.
- 4:57Speaker 2: I'm just trying to gauge.
- 4:58Speaker 3: How popular of a food booth you were working, right?
- 5:01Speaker 3: Like if it's just a, you know, a cotton candy booth,
- 5:05Speaker 3: you'll be busy-ish, but not crazy. It's not like you
- 5:09Speaker 3: were working one of the finalists or the winner of
- 5:12Speaker 3: the Big Tech's Choice Awards this year or previous years
- 5:15Speaker 3: that I'm aware of.
- 5:16Speaker 1: That was, so they actually, they were one of the
- 5:22Speaker 1: winners like three years ago for their pancake chicken poppers.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Okay, that makes sense.
- 5:29Speaker 3: It does sound familiar with the Palmer's chicken pancake.
- 5:32Speaker 2: You got it. Okay.
- 5:35Speaker 1: And I will have to say I had the winner
- 5:37Speaker 1: of the, I believe it was the winner of this
- 5:40Speaker 1: year's competition. It was a, or it was one of
- 5:44Speaker 1: the finalists, at least. It's like a brisket taco with
- 5:46Speaker 1: a mac and cheese shell. Yes.
- 5:51Speaker 3: I want to say that actually did win for best savory.
- 5:54Speaker 3: I think you're right.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Not so much.
- 5:59Speaker 1: So I can easily see that freshly made for the judges,
- 6:06Speaker 1: it's really good. But a cheese shell that has been
- 6:11Speaker 1: sitting out or they are producing in mass, the brisket
- 6:17Speaker 1: and everything, very savory, but not only the cheese, a
- 6:20Speaker 1: little chewy, but also the cheese, it was overwhelmed every
- 6:25Speaker 1: other taste, flavor. But, you know, I mean, it was solid,
- 6:33Speaker 1: but it was. You can easily see there where there's
- 6:37Speaker 1: a difference in what they make for the judges and
- 6:38Speaker 1: what actually the product that gets turned out.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I I'm trying to resist the temptation to go
- 6:45Speaker 3: down the the state fair food rabbit hole and like
- 6:49Speaker 3: the time I judged and stuff. But I want to
- 6:51Speaker 3: focus more on the fact of your decision to actually
- 6:55Speaker 3: run a food booth at the state fair. So were
- 6:57Speaker 3: you running it? Were you managing it? Were you just
- 6:59Speaker 3: like taking tickets and you're just cashiering?
- 7:00Speaker 2: What was the deal?
- 7:02Speaker 1: I mean, uh, serving, uh, taking orders.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Huh? Or were you just hanging on for dear life?
- 7:10Speaker 1: No, I mean, it's not, uh, I've worked in, you know,
- 7:15Speaker 1: kitchens and stuff. So it was, I mean, it's you, you,
- 7:20Speaker 1: the chicken sandwiches are, they, they, It's like any place,
- 7:26Speaker 1: like kind of fast food. They make some, you know,
- 7:27Speaker 1: if someone says, Hey, I want a chicken sandwich. You
- 7:29Speaker 1: ask them, you know, no spice, mild, hot. They pick,
- 7:32Speaker 1: you grab one, put it in a basket.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Boom.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Some of the other things you need, there's some cooks
- 7:38Speaker 1: there that they, like they, they do a dish. It's
- 7:41Speaker 1: tater tots with chicken covered in a pimento cheese queso.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Okay.
- 7:46Speaker 1: So that, that has to be made per order.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Okay.
- 7:51Speaker 1: But yeah, then other than just pouring beers and, So.
- 7:56Speaker 2: It wasn't that bad.
- 8:02Speaker 1: It was not that bad. The worst... Really, the worst part,
- 8:15Speaker 1: Saturday night... So the State Fair Classic game between Grambling
- 8:23Speaker 1: and Prairie View A & M was Saturday night. Grambling One,
- 8:27Speaker 1: Prairie View A & M. There were a lot of
- 8:29Speaker 1: drunk people at the end of the game. And this
- 8:34Speaker 1: one drunk black woman, she had a fit because she
- 8:39Speaker 1: tried to order from the guy cooking who is Mexican
- 8:44Speaker 1: and does not speak English.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Okay.
- 8:48Speaker 1: And she was highly offended. She's like, what? He doesn't
- 8:52Speaker 1: speak English? No. I don't believe that.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Lady, I hate to break it to you, but there's
- 9:01Speaker 3: lots of things in this world that you may not believe,
- 9:04Speaker 3: but that doesn't.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Change the fact.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Lady, let me ask you, let's, let's, I was like, ma'am,
- 9:08Speaker 1: I go, you ask him something. He immediately, he didn't
- 9:13Speaker 1: say anything. He looked at me. I stepped in. I
- 9:16Speaker 1: don't know what else. What? I don't know what else
- 9:23Speaker 1: you want as far as proof. And I understand why
- 9:27Speaker 1: you're upset by.
- 9:27Speaker 2: It, but.
- 9:28Speaker 3: It is amazing to me how many people walk around
- 9:31Speaker 3: on this planet thinking that they are the center of
- 9:35Speaker 3: it all. That any tiny thing is somehow designed to
- 9:42Speaker 3: attack them personally. Oh, he's just pretending to not know
- 9:49Speaker 3: English to make trouble for me. It's amazing the ego
- 9:55Speaker 3: that some people have thinking that those things are, it's
- 10:00Speaker 3: like everything bad happens to them. It's only meant to
- 10:03Speaker 3: ruin their day. No one else matters. You're doing this
- 10:06Speaker 3: to me, blah, blah, blah. Lady, you are not that special.
- 10:13Speaker 1: You're absolutely correct. It also, it is amazing to me
- 10:19Speaker 1: the amount of just the sheer number of fat people.
- 10:26Speaker 1: And also, if you have excess fat gut, and this really,
- 10:37Speaker 1: I'll have to say this really hits women more, but
- 10:41Speaker 1: it's a universal truth. No one wants to see your
- 10:45Speaker 1: fat hanging over your waist. Just cover it up.
- 10:50Speaker 2: How dare you fat shame?
- 10:52Speaker 1: I have no problem fat shaming. I absolutely, if I
- 10:59Speaker 1: have one, if I have one bias, the majority of
- 11:11Speaker 1: fat people, and we've talked about this many times, are
- 11:13Speaker 1: fat by their own choice and their poor choices. It's
- 11:16Speaker 1: not genetics. It's not anything else. It's because you eat
- 11:19Speaker 1: like crap. And boy, did I see that firsthand. And
- 11:24Speaker 1: you don't take care of yourself. And you're actually saying
- 11:28Speaker 1: people a little bitch about the cost of their medicines
- 11:29Speaker 1: and their diabetes medicine. If you would watch what you eat,
- 11:34Speaker 1: you probably wouldn't need it. You are one of the
- 11:38Speaker 1: biggest problems of our healthcare system.
- 11:40Speaker 2: This is true.
- 11:42Speaker 3: The healthcare system has many problems, but people eating junk
- 11:47Speaker 3: all the time is a big suck on it.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Taxing it by your obesity and all the health problems
- 11:53Speaker 1: related to your obesity are a big problem. If we
- 11:58Speaker 1: could solve that problem, boy, our health system would work
- 12:01Speaker 1: so much better.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Yeah. Still imperfect, but better.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Much better. Much, much better. Oh, God. All right.
- 12:11Speaker 2: So I'm glad you survived. And I'm assuming you stayed
- 12:15Speaker 2: on the wagon. Yeah. none of it pushed you to
- 12:19Speaker 2: drink or anything. So good, good on you.
- 12:22Speaker 1: No, if, if fat drunk, stupid people were going to
- 12:25Speaker 1: push me to drink, I, my sobriety would have lasted
- 12:28Speaker 1: less than three months.
- 12:32Speaker 2: You are seasoned when it comes to that. Yeah. I mean,
- 12:35Speaker 2: two days at the fair was not going to ruin you.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Yeah. That's, that is not going to trump years of,
- 12:41Speaker 1: of bar experience.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Fair enough.
- 12:44Speaker 3: Now, Look, had you mentioned to me beforehand, you said, hey, Dan,
- 12:50Speaker 3: I'm thinking about doing a food booth at State Fair
- 12:54Speaker 3: this weekend. I would have said, whoa, whoa, whoa, buddy.
- 12:57Speaker 3: I don't know if that's a good idea. I would, however,
- 13:01Speaker 3: stop short of giving you a purple nurple. Trust me,
- 13:07Speaker 3: I'm going someplace with this.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Same thing as a titty twister? Yes.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Okay. Yeah. Purple nurple equals titty twister.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Okay.
- 13:21Speaker 3: You and I have known each other many, many years.
- 13:24Speaker 3: I want you to know that 25 years into our friendship,
- 13:29Speaker 3: I will never give you a titty twister slash purple nurple.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Why? You don't find me attractive?
- 13:43Speaker 3: Trey it's not you it's me it's just in friendship
- 13:52Speaker 3: sometimes you share things and you do things for each
- 13:54Speaker 3: other and you know you help each other out right
- 13:57Speaker 3: uh well uh on a boy's night out one guy
- 14:01Speaker 3: reached over and gave his buddy a titty twister and
- 14:04Speaker 3: ended up saving his life i.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Think I'm assuming they weren't in high school, because that's
- 14:12Speaker 1: about the last time I can remember doing anything like that.
- 14:17Speaker 3: I think the last time someone tried doing that to
- 14:19Speaker 3: me was in high school, and they didn't make it
- 14:22Speaker 3: past high school.
- 14:25Speaker 2: But yes, they're much, much older.
- 14:28Speaker 3: When Robert Fleegart, 62, was on a boys' night out
- 14:33Speaker 3: in Las Vegas, his friend inadvertently saved his life. Robert
- 14:41Speaker 3: says he'd probably say I started it, but my friend
- 14:45Speaker 3: reached over to me and gave me a titty twister.
- 14:48Speaker 2: That's where he pinched my nipple.
- 14:49Speaker 3: And it really, really hurt. That's what Robert from Virginia said.
- 14:53Speaker 3: He says he tried to ignore the pain, but over
- 14:55Speaker 3: the next week, he was still rubbing his chest where
- 14:57Speaker 3: it hurt. That's when he felt a lump. The lump
- 15:03Speaker 3: in question turned out to be a turn. The lump
- 15:05Speaker 3: in question turned out to be breast cancer, which had
- 15:08Speaker 3: spread his lymph nodes. Around 420 men are diagnosed with
- 15:13Speaker 3: breast cancer each year in the UK, which accounts for
- 15:17Speaker 3: less than 1% of all diagnoses. Men have breast tissue
- 15:22Speaker 3: around the nipple area and can develop breast cancer this way,
- 15:26Speaker 3: and typically it's known as invasive ductal carcinoma NST. He
- 15:32Speaker 3: said the lump was the size of an eraser and
- 15:34Speaker 3: it was right next to my nipple. It's kind of weird,
- 15:37Speaker 3: but I just blew it off when he says he
- 15:39Speaker 3: kind of felt something at one point. Guys don't get
- 15:41Speaker 3: breast cancer, so I thought nothing of it. But he
- 15:44Speaker 3: said it was playing on my mind. And when I
- 15:47Speaker 3: went to get it checked out, I go in and
- 15:49Speaker 3: a nurse takes a look, immediately says it's something we
- 15:51Speaker 3: need to aggressively research. And things moved really, really quickly.
- 15:55Speaker 3: So yeah, boys night in Vegas, buddy reaches over and
- 16:00Speaker 3: gives his 62-year-old bro a titty twister and it saved
- 16:03Speaker 3: his life because he had breast cancer.
- 16:08Speaker 2: This is why women get mammograms.
- 16:12Speaker 3: They don't typically check each other the way we think
- 16:15Speaker 3: or fantasize that they do. And I think it's best
- 16:19Speaker 3: that we don't do that either. But in this case,
- 16:21Speaker 3: it saved his buddy's life.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Well, you're correct. But also, women are also taught to
- 16:31Speaker 1: check themselves on a regular basis. Men are not.
- 16:34Speaker 2: That's right.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Male breast cancer is a thing. You should always cop
- 16:38Speaker 1: a feel of yourself every now and then.
- 16:41Speaker 2: That's right. but it's okay.
- 16:43Speaker 3: It's okay to get to second base with yourself. In fact, it's,
- 16:46Speaker 3: you know, medically.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Approved, but I mean, 60 in your sixties and you're
- 16:53Speaker 1: giving each other titty twisters.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 16:56Speaker 1: I mean, Siegfried and Roy aren't around anymore. Uh, what,
- 17:00Speaker 1: what exactly were we doing.
- 17:03Speaker 2: In Vegas?
- 17:04Speaker 1: Yeah. The, uh, Yeah, I'm confused.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Well, one of them wasn't. I think he was very
- 17:22Speaker 2: clear about what he was going for. How, honey, how
- 17:27Speaker 2: was the boys trip?
- 17:28Speaker 3: I got a purple derple. I've never had that kind
- 17:37Speaker 3: of relationship with any guy friend. or any friend that
- 17:43Speaker 3: was a girl. I've kind of had that relationship with,
- 17:45Speaker 3: you know, my romantic significant others, like reach over and
- 17:49Speaker 3: tune in Tokyo or something. But I've never once a
- 17:52Speaker 3: guy friend of mine been like, you know what Trey
- 17:55Speaker 3: needs right now?
- 17:56Speaker 2: A titty twister.
- 17:58Speaker 3: I've just, that's not been, that was never, you and
- 18:01Speaker 3: I have never done that, Trey.
- 18:02Speaker 2: And I think it's okay.
- 18:03Speaker 3: I think our relationship will be just fine without it.
- 18:10Speaker 3: Why are you looking at like, well, I don't know, maybe.
- 18:13Speaker 1: No, I have no problem with us having some boundaries.
- 18:20Speaker 1: And we've seen each other in a lot of odd circumstances.
- 18:26Speaker 1: But yeah, never once. I am okay with the boundaries
- 18:29Speaker 1: being set that we're not going to give each other
- 18:32Speaker 1: titty twisters.
- 18:33Speaker 2: That's right.
- 18:34Speaker 3: I mean, when we see each other, we'll give each
- 18:36Speaker 3: other a good firm hug. but you were not, we're
- 18:40Speaker 3: not going. And let's be honest. Once you do it,
- 18:47Speaker 3: there is no going back.
- 18:49Speaker 1: I mean, now you have asked me to apply the
- 18:51Speaker 1: clamps every now and then, which, you know, I just
- 18:53Speaker 1: thought was your little fetishes.
- 18:57Speaker 2: See, that's different.
- 18:57Speaker 3: That's not skin on skin.
- 19:04Speaker 2: That's just the one buddy. Give it another buddy.
- 19:10Speaker 1: That's just Friday.
- 19:13Speaker 2: Fry.
- 19:16Speaker 3: Let's get Daniel Cook from Cook DFW Roofing and Restoration

- 19:35Speaker 3: about And how important that can be to the life
- 19:39Speaker 3: of the roof. That's something you guys look at. It's
- 19:41Speaker 3: not just about shingles.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Absolutely, Dan.
- 19:44Speaker 4: A lot of homeowners underestimate the amount of attic heat
- 19:48Speaker 4: buildup that their home has. Affects their AC system, affects
- 19:52Speaker 4: their roof condition long-term, affects just overall their home. And
- 19:57Speaker 4: so when we come out, we make that assessment with
- 20:00Speaker 4: the homeowner. We try to educate them, make sure they
- 20:02Speaker 4: have the There is a calculation of this. We walk
- 20:06Speaker 4: them around. If they're interested in going around, we show
- 20:08Speaker 4: them what their intakes look like, what their exhaust system
- 20:10Speaker 4: looks like, and try to make the best fit for
- 20:12Speaker 4: their home. So that's a very common thing that we do,
- 20:14Speaker 4: and it should be done every time you have construction
- 20:17Speaker 4: done at your property.
- 20:17Speaker 1: You need to be educated on what's happening and why.
- 20:21Speaker 3: And if you've ever dealt with a roofing contractor that
- 20:25Speaker 3: didn't have a conversation with you about ventilation underneath that roof,
- 20:31Speaker 3: then you need to call Daniel Cook at 833-COOK-DFW so

- 21:10Speaker 3: the drawing on a Facebook Live on September 29th. So
- 21:13Speaker 3: I need to check to see if they've done that.
- 21:16Speaker 3: And if they haven't, you know what? Go ahead and

- 21:34Speaker 3: against Tampa Bay.
- 21:35Speaker 2: 833-COOK-DFW. 833-COOK-DFW.
- 21:41Speaker 3: Or the website, once again, is cookdfw.com for Cowboys tickets
- 21:45Speaker 3: from the Cooks.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Thank you very much. All right, today is.
- 21:49Speaker 3: Tuesday, September 29th, 2026. Let's celebrate today with some birthdays.
- 22:01Speaker 3: Halsey is 32 today. Musician, singer of Bad at Love, Closer,
- 22:08Speaker 3: Without Me. Born Ashley Nicolette Franjapan.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Dude, I'm with you.
- 22:16Speaker 3: That's a great eyebrow you got going. I don't know
- 22:18Speaker 3: if I'm saying that last name correctly. It's F-R-A-N-G-I-P-A-N-E. It
- 22:26Speaker 3: looks like Franjipane. I don't know if it's Franjipane.
- 22:31Speaker 2: Franjipane. I have no idea. But she goes by Halsey,
- 22:35Speaker 2: and she's 32.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Oh, you know, good choice on her name wise.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I know I've heard the word Franjipane. I just
- 22:43Speaker 2: don't know what the hell it is.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Um, but yeah, I think that's one of those names
- 22:46Speaker 3: where it's like, yeah, I think I'll just switch it.
- 22:48Speaker 2: I'm Halsey.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Uh, very talented singer. She's actually, she's, I'm a big
- 22:54Speaker 3: fan of her voice. Uh, uh, I love the voice.
- 22:57Speaker 3: I think she's really talented. Love a number of her songs.
- 22:59Speaker 3: So happy birthday to Halsey. She's 32. Also, if you're
- 23:01Speaker 3: in the market for interesting album, uh, art, album art,
- 23:06Speaker 3: she's got one on one of her albums. Uh, it
- 23:09Speaker 3: pops up sometimes if, I'm listening to Pandora, and one
- 23:12Speaker 3: of her songs from a certain album pops up.
- 23:15Speaker 2: It's her sitting on a throne with her boobie out.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Okay.
- 23:21Speaker 3: I mean, there's a kid in the photo I've heard.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Okay. Other birthdays today.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Former NFL great Calvin Johnson, 41. One of two legendary
- 23:34Speaker 3: Detroit Lions players that said.
- 23:36Speaker 2: You know what?
- 23:38Speaker 1: I'm done. I'm done Detroiting.
- 23:41Speaker 3: I'm done Detroiting.
- 23:42Speaker 2: First was Barry Sanders, who out of nowhere is like,
- 23:44Speaker 2: you know what?
- 23:45Speaker 1: I'm done Detroiting.
- 23:46Speaker 2: And he retired.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Calvin Johnson did the same damn thing. It is really
- 23:52Speaker 3: amazing to think about. You got two guys who were
- 23:54Speaker 3: among the best at their position while they were playing
- 23:57Speaker 3: and then just suddenly, shockingly retired.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Well, and part of it was, for both of them,
- 24:04Speaker 1: that Detroit wouldn't trade them. It was... they really had
- 24:09Speaker 1: no other, it was either, you know, basically quit or
- 24:12Speaker 1: having to still play for the lions and they chose
- 24:16Speaker 1: quitting at both, right. But pretty much, you know, still in, in,
- 24:21Speaker 1: at the top of their game.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:25Speaker 3: And I mean, look, Calvin Johnson was a beast. I mean,
- 24:28Speaker 3: his nickname was Megatron. This is a guy, I think
- 24:30Speaker 3: he came out of, was it wake forest? Um, I mean,
- 24:36Speaker 3: it was a Division I school that he went to,
- 24:40Speaker 3: but this wasn't Florida.
- 24:41Speaker 2: This wasn't Michigan, USC. This wasn't one of.
- 24:44Speaker 3: The top flight programs that you hear about freak athletes
- 24:50Speaker 3: going to and playing football.
- 24:53Speaker 1: No, he played at, oh, Georgia Tech.
- 24:56Speaker 2: Georgia Tech. I had the right state, just wrong school.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Georgia Tech. Yeah. A school at the time, and up
- 25:03Speaker 1: until about two years ago, known for running the wing tee.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Not exactly a passing offense.
- 25:08Speaker 3: Right. And this is a guy that was six foot five,
- 25:11Speaker 3: could jump out of a stadium, and was blazing fast.
- 25:15Speaker 3: Not just for his size, but for anyone's size, was
- 25:18Speaker 3: really fast. It's one of those, you're like, how does
- 25:22Speaker 3: this guy only go to Georgia Tech with those freakish abilities?
- 25:24Speaker 2: I don't know if he had a growth spurt in
- 25:26Speaker 2: college or what, but yeah.
- 25:28Speaker 3: Might have been in the conversation for one of the
- 25:30Speaker 3: greatest wide receivers of all time had he played a
- 25:33Speaker 3: little bit longer.
- 25:39Speaker 1: I saw a stupid list on, I think it was TikTok,
- 25:43Speaker 1: of 10 players who shouldn't be in the NFL Hall
- 25:46Speaker 1: of Fame. And one of them, and you can tell,
- 25:51Speaker 1: you can always tell if it's written by a Gen
- 25:54Speaker 1: Z person because... One of the people they had on
- 25:57Speaker 1: there was Jerry Rice. He said he was just a
- 26:04Speaker 1: stat compiler. He was just because of longevity.
- 26:07Speaker 3: No.
- 26:10Speaker 1: And universally, you could not find anyone. It's like there
- 26:16Speaker 1: is no one who would ever agree with that. He
- 26:19Speaker 1: had a couple. Trey Aikman is always one that comes up.
- 26:22Speaker 1: People will say, should he really be in the Hall
- 26:24Speaker 1: of Fame?
- 26:26Speaker 2: Yes.
- 26:27Speaker 1: I understand that argument because of his stats, but he also,
- 26:33Speaker 1: he also was, had the greatest running back, you know,
- 26:37Speaker 1: or arguably one of the greatest running backs and the
- 26:39Speaker 1: all-time leading NFL rushing leader in his backfield. So, you know,
- 26:42Speaker 1: he handed the ball off a lot. That's, it is
- 26:44Speaker 1: what it is, but he won three super bowls. That's
- 26:46Speaker 1: pretty much going to get you in the hall of fame.
- 26:48Speaker 2: Yeah. Um, and he was still really good at quarterback.
- 26:52Speaker 3: So it wasn't like, I mean, uh, as, as, as
- 26:57Speaker 3: lifelong Cowboys fans, we know how good Troy was.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:02Speaker 3: And Troy knows how good Troy is even.
- 27:06Speaker 2: Go ahead. I, my point. Yeah.
- 27:08Speaker 1: I don't agree with it, but I understand, especially if
- 27:11Speaker 1: you didn't see him play and you just look at numbers,
- 27:14Speaker 1: why people say question his hall of fame credentials.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Sure. But to those of us that did watch him play. Yeah.
- 27:23Speaker 3: I mean, I know that week in week out Troy,
- 27:27Speaker 3: has got to just drool at the thought of what
- 27:30Speaker 3: it would have been like with his physical abilities to
- 27:34Speaker 3: play in the modern day NFL where you're just.
- 27:38Speaker 2: Zipping the ball left and right.
- 27:39Speaker 3: I mean, my God, if you put Troy Aikman in
- 27:43Speaker 3: Dak's position, easy three Super Bowls because Dak, Dak.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Is a good quarterback. He doesn't have near the level
- 27:53Speaker 2: of accuracy that Aikman did. I mean, my God.
- 27:57Speaker 1: No, that's the other thing people don't understand is, and that's,
- 28:01Speaker 1: you know, on their list also was Dan Marino. And
- 28:04Speaker 1: just because he didn't have a Super Bowl ring, I
- 28:05Speaker 1: was like, you know, he was a Hall of Fame quarterback.
- 28:10Speaker 1: He may not have won a Super Bowl, but his arm. But, oh,
- 28:13Speaker 1: that's the other thing people don't understand is the NFL,
- 28:18Speaker 1: football has changed dramatically. I mean, you go to high
- 28:21Speaker 1: school football, they air it out so much more than
- 28:24Speaker 1: they ever did I mean, back in the 90s and
- 28:28Speaker 1: even in the early 2000s. Yeah, that's... If you don't
- 28:33Speaker 1: think Jerry Rice belongs in the Super Bowl, shut up.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Shut the F up.
- 28:38Speaker 3: Yeah, then you don't belong in this conversation. Other birthdays today.
- 28:42Speaker 3: Zachary Levi turns 46.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Hey, he's my age!
- 28:46Speaker 3: He is from Chuck. Also the Shazam movies. He's the
- 28:51Speaker 3: voice of Flynn Rider in the Tangled movie. Uh.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Was he Shazam?
- 28:58Speaker 2: Yes. Okay. He was Shazam.
- 29:00Speaker 3: I saw the first one and I thought it was really,
- 29:03Speaker 3: really good. It was a really fun movie. They did
- 29:06Speaker 3: the second one and I have not seen that. Although
- 29:09Speaker 3: I think I heard that that was supposed to be
- 29:11Speaker 3: really good as well. I just haven't seen the follow-up
- 29:13Speaker 3: to Shazam.
- 29:13Speaker 1: I saw the first one and it was good. I
- 29:15Speaker 1: did not see the second one. I did go back
- 29:16Speaker 1: and watch Infinity War over the weekend.
- 29:19Speaker 2: I'm in the middle of doing that myself right now.
- 29:23Speaker 1: That really is a good movie. So good.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Yeah. I'm doing the same thing. I'm doing the same thing.
- 29:30Speaker 3: You are rewatching it right before the Avengers Endgame encore
- 29:34Speaker 3: in theaters.
- 29:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I did not give that movie its.
- 29:43Speaker 1: Just as hers. Because, I mean, it's... It is a really, really,
- 29:47Speaker 1: really good movie. It might be better than Endgame.
- 29:52Speaker 4: Overall, it is.
- 29:54Speaker 3: But... Endgame gives us the sparkle circles that I'm looking
- 30:01Speaker 3: forward to going back to the theater and seeing the
- 30:03Speaker 3: Encore thing. And I've had to, like, zoom past certain
- 30:07Speaker 3: things on social media so I don't see some of
- 30:09Speaker 3: the Endgame Encore spoiler stuff.
- 30:12Speaker 2: Oh.
- 30:13Speaker 3: Because I'm waiting until, so Tara and I leave Seattle, like,
- 30:16Speaker 3: on Wednesday. And then we're flying back to Dallas, right?
- 30:21Speaker 3: And so we're waiting until we get to Dallas to
- 30:23Speaker 3: see Avengers Endgame so we know we can go to
- 30:24Speaker 3: like Alamo Drafthouse and get some good popcorn.
- 30:28Speaker 2: Goals. Really, really looking forward to that good popcorn.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Let me know when you go, man. Come watch it.
- 30:36Speaker 2: Absolutely. I got you. Other birthdays today.
- 30:43Speaker 3: Chrissy Metz from This Is Us is also 46. Never
- 30:48Speaker 3: watched that show. partly because every promo I'd ever see
- 30:51Speaker 3: for it was a bunch of people crying, and I'm like, nah,
- 30:54Speaker 3: I'm good.
- 30:55Speaker 1: You know what? I don't know why. I watched the
- 30:59Speaker 1: first couple seasons. It was an excellent show, and I
- 31:02Speaker 1: don't know why I quit watching it, but really good show.
- 31:09Speaker 3: I did get a kick out of Crockpot Sales took
- 31:13Speaker 3: a major hit because it killed their daddy in the show.
- 31:18Speaker 3: That's one of the funniest things I have ever heard.
- 31:25Speaker 3: Andrew Dice Clay is 69.
- 31:29Speaker 1: Who... You know, he now... I think they're still together.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Dates one of the old salespeople from our CBS radio days.
- 31:43Speaker 2: One of the weirdest things in life.
- 31:46Speaker 3: Is as a kid growing up watching Andrew Dice Clay
- 31:49Speaker 3: specials that I shouldn't be watching at my age, that
- 31:53Speaker 3: I should not have been watching at that age. And
- 31:56Speaker 3: then becoming an adult and meeting people in a professional environment,
- 32:00Speaker 3: including a number of salespeople, including a number of female salespeople.
- 32:05Speaker 3: And then one day hearing that one of those female
- 32:08Speaker 3: salespeople that you knew and worked with for years.
- 32:11Speaker 2: Married Andrew Dice Clay.
- 32:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:14Speaker 2: It's one of the most random things in my life.
- 32:19Speaker 1: And if you could have picked anyone on the face
- 32:23Speaker 1: of the earth that that sales lady would marry, he
- 32:27Speaker 1: would be the last, one of the last people you
- 32:30Speaker 1: would ever have chosen.
- 32:31Speaker 2: Absolutely. Abso-freaking-lutely. Life is funny.
- 32:37Speaker 1: Yeah, that is a weird one.
- 32:41Speaker 3: Bryant Gumbel is 78 today. longtime Today host and host
- 32:46Speaker 3: of Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel. One of the smuggest
- 32:51Speaker 3: SOBs I have ever seen in broadcasting.
- 32:54Speaker 2: The man oozes. Just oozes pompousness.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Yeah, that's... And he.
- 33:13Speaker 1: When's the last time he actually did anything?
- 33:18Speaker 2: I honestly don't know.
- 33:19Speaker 1: I mean, I feel like he was one of those
- 33:20Speaker 1: that you're talking about smugness. I feel like he was
- 33:22Speaker 1: just an a-hole and the people got tired of him.
- 33:24Speaker 2: I think so. What is real sports still airing?
- 33:28Speaker 1: I don't think so.
- 33:30Speaker 2: Cause I know for a while it was just that,
- 33:32Speaker 2: that he was doing.
- 33:33Speaker 3: And then maybe like the occasional 60 minutes report. But
- 33:38Speaker 3: I don't know if he's done anything at all recently.
- 33:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:44Speaker 1: I'd forgotten about real sports, but no, I think even that,
- 33:48Speaker 1: I think he, I feel like maybe he got a
- 33:51Speaker 1: little too political for sports.
- 33:54Speaker 3: He may have, and that can bring down a lot
- 33:57Speaker 3: of people. And the thing about real sports was, it
- 34:00Speaker 3: was a great show. I mean, some of the best journalism,
- 34:04Speaker 3: not just sports journalism, but some of the best journalism
- 34:07Speaker 3: on TV was real sports. And the worst part of
- 34:12Speaker 3: it was, for those reporters. These are award-winning accomplished journalists.
- 34:20Speaker 3: Their report would air on real sports with Bryant Gumbel.
- 34:24Speaker 3: And then after their package airs, then they have to
- 34:28Speaker 3: sit in the chair and answer questions from Bryant Gumbel
- 34:32Speaker 3: as if it's the teacher questioning your project day work
- 34:40Speaker 3: as if somehow he, like you have to answer questions
- 34:44Speaker 3: from him. Like, like he's the teacher and you have
- 34:46Speaker 3: to justify and show your work.
- 34:48Speaker 2: To me, it just seemed, it.
- 34:50Speaker 1: Seems like your dissertation. It was like a dissertation where you're,
- 34:54Speaker 1: you're giving, you gave it. And then, then you have to,
- 34:56Speaker 1: you know, stand, you know, in the line of fire
- 34:59Speaker 1: of questions about, you know, questioning your work. Yeah. It
- 35:03Speaker 1: was bizarre.
- 35:04Speaker 3: And of all people to Bryant effing Gumbel, like for
- 35:07Speaker 3: some of these journalists, I would be like, why am I,
- 35:10Speaker 3: being forced to answer your dumb questions.
- 35:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:13Speaker 3: That was, I was thinking about real sports and Brian
- 35:15Speaker 3: gum that always threw me for a loop. I was,
- 35:17Speaker 3: I can't believe these people are putting up with his
- 35:19Speaker 3: smug attitude, asking them questions.
- 35:20Speaker 1: The truth of the matter is HBO had to there.
- 35:24Speaker 1: I think was it inside the NFL that was on HBO.
- 35:28Speaker 1: That was an excellent show.
- 35:30Speaker 2: It was really, really good.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Yeah. And then, yeah, it real sports.
- 35:36Speaker 2: Ian McShane is 84 today.
- 35:39Speaker 3: I love me some Ian McShane. This dude is a
- 35:42Speaker 3: phenomenal actor. He is from, he is Winston in the
- 35:47Speaker 3: John Wick movies. The GM or whatever it is of
- 35:53Speaker 3: the Continental. The manager of the Continental. I first was
- 35:57Speaker 3: introduced to Ian McShane in a little show on HBO
- 36:00Speaker 3: called Deadwood.
- 36:03Speaker 2: Never saw it.
- 36:04Speaker 3: Now, oh my God, Trey, how have you not seen Deadwood?
- 36:09Speaker 1: I think that falls into shows that were on during
- 36:13Speaker 1: the highlight of my alcoholism.
- 36:16Speaker 2: Okay, that is probably true, but... Yes, 2004, 2006.
- 36:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:19Speaker 3: Ian McShane in Deadwood throws your favorite word around.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Unabashedly.
- 36:31Speaker 1: Well, I'll have to watch it. Yeah.
- 36:35Speaker 2: I mean, Ian McShane can drop a C-bomb. I had
- 36:41Speaker 2: no idea who he was prior to Deadwood.
- 36:44Speaker 3: And I think he's a British actor, so I don't
- 36:46Speaker 3: know if he was in a ton of stuff in
- 36:49Speaker 3: the UK.
- 36:49Speaker 2: Or whatever before Deadwood, and I'd just never seen it.
- 36:52Speaker 3: Deadwood was the first thing I saw him in, and
- 36:55Speaker 3: I was like, this dude sets a scene on fire.
- 36:59Speaker 2: Really, really good.
- 37:00Speaker 1: I'm trying to think. So there was recently a New
- 37:03Speaker 1: York Times list of the top 100 TV shows of
- 37:05Speaker 1: the 21st century. I saw that. And I'm trying to
- 37:14Speaker 1: think what was number one, but I think number two
- 37:16Speaker 1: is The Wire, which I still have got to go
- 37:18Speaker 1: back and watch. I feel like that is a show
- 37:21Speaker 1: that universally everyone says was excellent.
- 37:25Speaker 2: Number one was Breaking Bad.
- 37:28Speaker 1: Oh, I haven't seen that.
- 37:33Speaker 3: We had friends in town. We were talking with them
- 37:35Speaker 3: and they love Breaking Bad. And I told them how
- 37:38Speaker 3: I popped out mid season three they're like what and
- 37:42Speaker 3: I was like sorry and I'm well on record with
- 37:44Speaker 3: this I got I got real bored of the show
- 37:46Speaker 3: because you know he's in there doing chores around the
- 37:49Speaker 3: house and I'm like I'm done I'm bored I guess
- 37:52Speaker 3: maybe he broke extra bad after that episode I don't
- 37:55Speaker 3: know I just I never finished it maybe I should
- 37:57Speaker 3: go back.
- 37:58Speaker 1: There's just there's such a long list of shows I
- 38:00Speaker 1: mean I'm still trying to finish Game of Thrones and
- 38:03Speaker 1: then The Wire is probably next on my list of
- 38:12Speaker 1: but yeah, uh, that was an interesting list. Uh, there
- 38:16Speaker 1: were like almost like, I don't know why I'm surprised
- 38:22Speaker 1: that they left shows like, you know, big bang theory
- 38:25Speaker 1: that were incredibly popular, but they don't, uh, I mean,
- 38:31Speaker 1: arrested development. I think they had in the top 10,
- 38:32Speaker 1: which I would totally agree with.
- 38:36Speaker 2: Yeah. I've found it. Here it is.
- 38:38Speaker 3: Um, The 100 best TV shows of the 21st century.
- 38:43Speaker 3: Number one, Breaking Bad. Number two, The Wire. Number three,
- 38:47Speaker 3: Mad Men.
- 38:48Speaker 2: I've seen that. Number four is Succession.
- 38:52Speaker 3: Okay. Number five is Fleabag. Number six, Game of Thrones.
- 38:56Speaker 3: Number seven is Veep.
- 38:58Speaker 1: Did you ever watch Fleabag?
- 39:00Speaker 2: I have not. I've heard great things, but I've never
- 39:02Speaker 2: seen it.
- 39:02Speaker 1: It's an easy watch. Yeah, it was funny.
- 39:09Speaker 3: Uh, 30 rock is at number eight curb, your enthusiasm,
- 39:12Speaker 3: nine Atlanta at number 10.
- 39:16Speaker 1: I've tried going back. Larry David is I've tried starting
- 39:21Speaker 1: watching curb and I it's, it's tough.
- 39:26Speaker 2: I can't do it.
- 39:27Speaker 3: I know it's funny. I just, I don't do well.
- 39:30Speaker 3: with cringe comedy.
- 39:32Speaker 1: I'm the same way. And I also, yeah, he did
- 39:37Speaker 1: that special for HBO, like history, whatever.
- 39:41Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 39:42Speaker 3: The history, according to Larry David or something.
- 39:45Speaker 1: Yeah, it was, I, I, I did not enjoy that.
- 39:53Speaker 2: Gee, Trey, I wonder why.
- 39:55Speaker 1: No, it's not.
- 39:56Speaker 3: It's because it seemed like a massive assault on the
- 40:01Speaker 3: right from the left. I, there is.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Some of it was okay. It's just all in all.
- 40:08Speaker 1: I just, there were a few pieces here and there
- 40:11Speaker 1: that were funny. Other than that, like they did one
- 40:13Speaker 1: with Seinfeld and it was just, I just didn't like it.
- 40:19Speaker 1: I mean, it just, it's not my cup of tea.
- 40:21Speaker 2: How about that? Yeah. Yeah.
- 40:23Speaker 1: And generally that show got, did not do well as
- 40:27Speaker 1: far as reviews go. I mean, there were a lot
- 40:29Speaker 1: of people that were like, eh, it.
- 40:31Speaker 2: Looked preachy, like real preachy.
- 40:36Speaker 3: Um, so yeah, so at the top 100 best TV
- 40:39Speaker 3: shows of the 21st century, that was your top 10
- 40:41Speaker 3: breaking bad and the wire, the top two Madman number three. Uh,
- 40:45Speaker 3: it is an interesting list. Uh, I will say they,
- 40:48Speaker 3: Deadwood is at 24.
- 40:53Speaker 2: Band of Brothers, 28.
- 40:54Speaker 1: I thought that would be higher.
- 41:00Speaker 2: It's higher in my heart. I'll tell you that right now.
- 41:03Speaker 2: Got it. You want to know what's right behind.
- 41:08Speaker 3: Band of Brothers on the 100 best TV shows of
- 41:11Speaker 3: the 21st century?
- 41:14Speaker 2: It just eked out Key & Peele. Sorry, in my head,
- 41:21Speaker 2: it was.
- 41:23Speaker 3: Not Key and Peele. What was the show on Nickelodeon?
- 41:29Speaker 3: The Burger Kids? Oh.
- 41:32Speaker 1: Good Burger or whatever?
- 41:34Speaker 3: Was that it? Yeah, because it was the other black
- 41:39Speaker 3: comedy duo from back in the day.
- 41:41Speaker 2: Never mind.
- 41:41Speaker 3: Key and Peele is a great show. I was thinking
- 41:44Speaker 3: of the other show from Nickelodeon.
- 41:47Speaker 1: Yeah, but is it.
- 41:51Speaker 1: Is it.
- 41:53Speaker 2: Kenan and Kel, that's what I'm thinking of.
- 41:55Speaker 1: Yeah, okay.
- 41:55Speaker 2: Kenan and Kel, that's it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So it
- 41:57Speaker 2: sounds very similar as well.
- 42:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, there's lots of good shows, and I'm
- 42:04Speaker 3: happy to say that I've seen a lot of these
- 42:06Speaker 3: shows and that my tastes fall in line with some
- 42:12Speaker 3: other people's tastes as far as great shows of the
- 42:14Speaker 3: 21st century.
- 42:16Speaker 2: You are right, though.
- 42:17Speaker 3: Very few traditional sitcoms made the list.
- 42:22Speaker 1: I can't be terribly surprised with it. It's the New
- 42:31Speaker 1: York Times. It's going to be an artsy list. I've
- 42:44Speaker 1: heard Veep was good.
- 42:49Speaker 3: I'll tell you right now, Trey. Veep will give you
- 42:54Speaker 3: some of the greatest names to call people that you
- 42:56Speaker 3: don't like.
- 42:59Speaker 2: It really is.
- 43:00Speaker 3: It's like a master class in new bad names to
- 43:04Speaker 3: call people. And some of the ones that they say,
- 43:09Speaker 3: you'll be like, what did they just say? For that,
- 43:13Speaker 3: at the very least, just for that, it's really, really
- 43:15Speaker 3: worth it.
- 43:17Speaker 1: Was Yellowstone on the list?
- 43:22Speaker 3: I don't recall seeing Yellowstone.
- 43:25Speaker 2: I'm scanning, scanning. Okay.
- 43:29Speaker 3: I'm looking, going down, going down, going down.
- 43:32Speaker 2: I'm in the 20s. I don't see Yellowstone. Andor is
- 43:35Speaker 2: in there at 32. That's some really good writing.
- 43:38Speaker 3: Show could be kind of boring, but the writing was
- 43:40Speaker 3: really good.
- 43:41Speaker 2: Louie at 41. That was a really good show. Normal people,
- 43:46Speaker 2: Parks and Rec. Good place. Downton Abbey, Strange Things. Chappelle Show.
- 43:52Speaker 3: The Handmaid's Tale, No Reservations, The Shield.
- 43:57Speaker 2: Yep, I do... The Bear.
- 44:01Speaker 3: Nope, I do not see Yellowstone anywhere on there. Is
- 44:06Speaker 3: that a bit of a scandal? Because Scandal was the
- 44:08Speaker 3: bottom of the list at number 100.
- 44:09Speaker 1: And Scandal was a good show. I am shocked. Again,
- 44:17Speaker 1: I think that's also... you know, not artsy enough and
- 44:26Speaker 1: too commercial, too much commercial success.
- 44:29Speaker 2: Yes, I would agree.
- 44:33Speaker 1: I am surprised. I am surprised they didn't put Schitt's
- 44:35Speaker 1: Creek higher. I think it was like 34, 35, something
- 44:38Speaker 1: like that.
- 44:39Speaker 2: Yep. That's because they had to fold it in, Trey.
- 44:47Speaker 2: Thank you. Thank you, Moira.

- 45:46Speaker 3: Back inside the Treehouse, I'm Dan.
- 45:47Speaker 2: He's Tripe.
- 45:49Speaker 3: How do I tell my co-star that he's getting hard
- 45:52Speaker 3: during a sex scene? That's not me asking the question.
- 45:57Speaker 3: That's a young lady online.
- 46:00Speaker 1: How do I tell?
- 46:01Speaker 3: Yeah, so the way you say this is a really
- 46:08Speaker 3: big part of the story. How do I tell my
- 46:11Speaker 3: co-star that he's getting hard during a sex scene versus
- 46:14Speaker 3: how do I tell That my co-star is getting hard
- 46:18Speaker 3: during a sex scene. Well, the second one's pretty easy
- 46:20Speaker 3: to tell. How do I inform my co-star that he's
- 46:25Speaker 3: getting hard during a sexual scene? I think it's more
- 46:27Speaker 3: of what she's going for there. And she even says here,
- 46:30Speaker 3: forgive me if I'm not doing this right. I just
- 46:32Speaker 3: made this account to ask the question because I'm genuinely
- 46:35Speaker 3: at a loss. I was cast as Veronica Sawyer in
- 46:39Speaker 3: the high school rendition of Heathers. My co-star is a
- 46:42Speaker 3: boy a year older than me. And he was cast
- 46:45Speaker 3: as J.D. For the sake of this, I'm just going
- 46:47Speaker 3: to call him J.D. In the show, there is a
- 46:50Speaker 3: number where it is implied.
- 46:53Speaker 2: Our two characters are having sex.
- 46:56Speaker 3: Even though it's a high school version, there's still multiple
- 46:59Speaker 3: parts in the choreography that are suggestive, as well as
- 47:02Speaker 3: a staged kiss at the end of the number. To
- 47:05Speaker 3: preface what I'm about to say, acting is acting, and
- 47:07Speaker 3: I'm not in any way uncomfortable with sexual movements, kissing,
- 47:10Speaker 3: or anything else that happens during this number. With context
- 47:15Speaker 3: out of the way, there is a part a little
- 47:16Speaker 3: over halfway through the song where I straddle JD and,
- 47:19Speaker 3: for lack of a better word, grind down on him
- 47:21Speaker 3: while he unbuttons my top. It's during this part that
- 47:24Speaker 3: he gets a little too in character. His costume at
- 47:27Speaker 3: the time is very thin as well, so it's quite
- 47:30Speaker 3: obvious and hard to ignore, especially because of the choreography
- 47:36Speaker 3: we're doing. Then she continues by saying, I don't even
- 47:41Speaker 3: know if I should bring this up in the first place.
- 47:45Speaker 3: I'm a lesbian, and I have no idea how a
- 47:47Speaker 3: man's body works. If it's something he isn't trying to do,
- 47:57Speaker 3: then I don't want to bring it up because he
- 47:59Speaker 3: can't really fix that, and it would be unfair to
- 48:01Speaker 3: ask him to.
- 48:02Speaker 2: On the other hand, it makes.
- 48:03Speaker 3: Me less comfortable performing the scene, and worst of all,
- 48:07Speaker 3: it's affecting my acting during the number because I'm getting
- 48:10Speaker 3: out of character. That's an impressive hard-on if it's pushing
- 48:15Speaker 3: your co-star out of character.
- 48:20Speaker 1: Uh i mean that that's lesbians take biology right.
- 48:31Speaker 2: Supposed to okay i mean that.
- 48:35Speaker 3: That's high school 101 man it's you gotta you gotta
- 48:38Speaker 3: take biology at some point.
- 48:40Speaker 1: You know uh that is In general, not something we
- 48:44Speaker 1: can help a lot of times, especially if you're grinding
- 48:47Speaker 1: and writhing around. That's going to happen. Hey, it means
- 48:54Speaker 1: your acting is excellent.
- 48:57Speaker 2: That's right.
- 48:58Speaker 1: You are in the role. You are portraying the part 100%.
- 49:04Speaker 1: And I can assure you he knows. He knows. It's
- 49:13Speaker 1: also something we are sometimes painfully aware of.
- 49:17Speaker 2: Sometimes very painfully aware of.
- 49:18Speaker 1: Yes.
- 49:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 49:21Speaker 3: Just be happy he's not running around the stage going, acting!
- 49:31Speaker 1: Be happy that you don't have some kind of singing
- 49:34Speaker 1: number after with him that he has to stand up.
- 49:37Speaker 3: Laughter In the stage world, your movements on stage are
- 49:47Speaker 3: known as blocking.
- 49:52Speaker 2: It's just going to happen.
- 49:54Speaker 3: The thing, young lady, you need to realize is that
- 49:58Speaker 3: it's not you, but it's kind of you.
- 50:04Speaker 1: I'm going to guess she's hot. It's like, yeah, it is.
- 50:09Speaker 3: Like he may be trying to treat this as professionally
- 50:12Speaker 3: as possible, but.
- 50:14Speaker 1: And if it's giving you that, you know, that much pause.
- 50:18Speaker 2: Maybe give it a whirl. Maybe he's giving you something
- 50:21Speaker 2: to think about.
- 50:22Speaker 1: Yeah. Because clearly you were into that role.
- 50:32Speaker 2: And he wants to be. Yeah, you get it. Yeah.
- 50:34Speaker 1: All right.
- 50:36Speaker 3: Last, but certainly not least. One of my favorite headlines
- 50:41Speaker 3: of the year so far. And that's saying something.
- 50:44Speaker 2: What killed the bear lady? Oh, say it.
- 51:02Speaker 1: Give him one too many white claws.
- 51:08Speaker 2: What killed the bear lady? I have a guess.
- 51:21Speaker 4: Oh, man.
- 51:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean... I guess... Is there context here?
- 51:36Speaker 3: Is there.
- 51:37Speaker 2: You're right. You're right.
- 51:39Speaker 3: We are making grand assumptions here, but let me offer
- 51:41Speaker 3: some context here. For 28 years, Kay Grayson lived side
- 51:45Speaker 3: by side with wild black bears in North Carolina's swampy
- 51:56Speaker 3: coastal forests, hand-feeding them, defending them against poachers, and letting
- 52:04Speaker 3: them in her home. When she went missing last year,
- 52:11Speaker 3: the only thing investigators found were clean-picked bones. This is
- 52:23Speaker 3: the world's worst episode of CSI. It's the shortest episode
- 52:31Speaker 3: in the history of the show. I'm just going down,
- 52:39Speaker 3: just making sure that.
- 52:41Speaker 2: It wasn't actually something else.
- 52:49Speaker 1: You fed them, you let them into your home, and
- 52:54Speaker 1: you thought they would just love on you forever. Yeah.
- 52:59Speaker 3: The official autopsy is filed as incomplete, probably because there's
- 53:03Speaker 3: not a whole lot to go on. The medical examiner
- 53:08Speaker 3: refuses to comment, and the local theories abound as to
- 53:13Speaker 3: how she died.
- 53:15Speaker 2: Is how she lived.
- 53:21Speaker 1: Bite the hand that feeds you?
- 53:22Speaker 2: Uh-huh. Especially if it's using your hand as a toothpick.
- 53:28Speaker 1: Yeah. Yes, when you reach that hand out to feed
- 53:34Speaker 1: the bears and you don't have enough food in them,
- 53:36Speaker 1: and they will just continue on you up your arm.
- 53:43Speaker 3: I believe that's a good stopping point for today.
- 53:48Speaker 1: We'll go out with don't feed the bears.
- 53:56Speaker 3: Thanks for hanging out with us today inside the tree
