• 2:16
SPEAKER_01: Oh, that is that is what DivaZ care is all about.
• 2:20
SPEAKER_01: And I just love that that women are coming together to help to do that.
• 2:24
  SPEAKER_01: It is just beautiful.
• 2:26
SPEAKER_02: I firmly believe we as women we need to learn to lift each other up and rise rather than tear each other down.
• 2:35
SPEAKER_01: Oh, how true that is.
• 2:38
SPEAKER_01: That is that is said so very well because it women do not need to be torn down by an anyone and to lift each other up is what it's all about.
• 2:50
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, that was beautiful.
• 2:51
  SPEAKER_01: I love that phrase.
• 2:54
SPEAKER_01: Well, Cheryl, what was your inspiration to submit your story of you and your d daughters in our mothers, our daughters book for Divas That Care?
• 3:06
SPEAKER_02: Okay, well, um, as you know, I work as an esthetician at my job, and I've shared my ups and downs with my troubles that I went through with motherhood uh with my boss, and my boss heard about possibly entering into uh submitter entries because she do, I had a pretty powerful story with my daughter, and um I thought about it and I talked to my daughter, and she's like, Mom, right away, I've always loved to write, um, ever since I was a child.
• 3:40
SPEAKER_02: And my whole thing with writing this was when we were going through our ups and downs, some parts of that I felt like I was so alone.
• 3:49
SPEAKER_02: You know, you hear everybody talk about all the wonderful things about being a mother, and when you have a child that is, you know, rebelling or or you know, giving you a good run, you ask yourself, what am I doing wrong?
• 4:04
  SPEAKER_02: Is it me?
• 4:05
SPEAKER_02: Like, is there something wrong with me?
• 4:06
SPEAKER_02: Like, sh could I change something?
• 4:09
SPEAKER_02: And I just thought, you know, I just wanted to talk about not just the good things, but the real things that can happen.
• 4:18
SPEAKER_02: So if I could help one mother out there not feel alone when their child is rebelling, because the teen years, in my opinion, they were the hardest years of being a mom altogether.
• 4:30
SPEAKER_02: At first I thought, you know, when the baby doesn't sleep through the night, those were hard, but those are actually easy because you know where your child is.
• 4:38
SPEAKER_02: When they become a teen, they grow strong little personalities, and it's great because, you know, in some ways you know that child's gonna stick up for themselves, but it's hard when you both are stubborn and you gotta learn to grow together rather than grow apart, and these children don't come with manuals, and I feel that we as mothers we are all trying to figure it out and just putting a story out there to give other mothers hope that it's they're doing it right.
• 5:10
SPEAKER_02: You just gotta really listen and grow together, and that was a big thing I I especially learned when I became a life coach because I learned to listen to understand, I didn't listen to respond.
• 5:26
SPEAKER_02: And that was a game changer in my growth as a mother and just figuring it out and supporting other moms so they just essentially they didn't feel alone.
• 5:45
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, wow.
• 5:46
SPEAKER_01: Oh that wa that was just so very well put and I love how listen to understand and not just listen to respond.
• 5:55
SPEAKER_01: How true that is and how if we could all do that in so many in all circumstances it would be such a different world.
• 6:05
SPEAKER_01: Because usually the first thing that yeah, first thing that comes to mind is how am I gonna respond to that?
• 6:11
SPEAKER_01: Rather than why are they saying that or trying to understand where they're coming from.
• 6:17
SPEAKER_01: Oh, yes, I love that.
• 6:19
SPEAKER_01: And I love when you said you both had the s you both were stubborn, I say you were both very strong willed.
• 6:27
SPEAKER_01: You were both two uh two feminine minds that were strong willed to terms with each with each other on that and for sure.
• 6:38
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, definitely.
• 6:39
SPEAKER_02: And like a big thing for me as well was when we get older, we're at a different mindset.
• 6:46
SPEAKER_02: We get here because we've gone through so much growth.
• 6:49
SPEAKER_02: When kids are teenagers, they're still trying to figure it out, and I I found myself I had to dig deep and think back to my mindset when I was a teenager, right?
• 7:01
SPEAKER_02: Because where I'm at now is so different to where I was then, and I had to relate that way to some of why my kid would rebel and and like it was a journey.
• 7:15
SPEAKER_02: It was a it was a very big journey, but I I'm I'm blessed that we we both figured it out and we grew together and it all comes down to the unconditional love that I talked about in my story because you know, do we love unconditionally or do we love with conditions?
• 7:37
SPEAKER_02: And I believe within myself, um, by being there with m for my daughter through every hill, valley, curve, and testament that she went through.
• 7:49
SPEAKER_02: Like I was tested, but there was never a condition, and I loved that she knew she could always come to me, and that's essentially I believe that all mothers want that.
• 7:58
SPEAKER_02: It's just sometimes we get stuck in our vision of what we think our children should be instead of what they want to be.
• 8:07
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, how true that is.
• 8:10
SPEAKER_01: We like to kind of mold them in how we'd like 'em to be, and they're an individual with their own unique talents, their own unique gifts, and in those teen years I often feel they're trying to find that.
• 8:24
  SPEAKER_01: And that it's tough.
• 8:26
SPEAKER_01: Those teen years are tough on them and tough on the mother.
• 8:30
  SPEAKER_02: Most definitely.
• 8:33
  SPEAKER_02: Oh.
• 8:34
SPEAKER_01: But I love grow together and with unconditional love.
• 8:38
SPEAKER_01: I had just seen here lately a a post that said that true love is truly unconditional love, and I'm like, Oh, how true that is.
• 8:47
  SPEAKER_01: Oh Well Most definitely.
• 8:50
SPEAKER_01: You have shared so much already, Cheryl, and I know the listeners are already saying, Oh my, I I need to read this story.
• 8:59
SPEAKER_01: What is one more golden nugget that you would like to share with our listeners today that will spark their interest even more to want to read your story along with all the other mother-daughter book mother-daughter stories in our mothers or daughters book?
• 9:17
SPEAKER_02: I find a great golden nugget is definitely when you hear all these mothers and daughters' stories, just you know, realizing like we're all just trying to figure it out.
• 9:30
SPEAKER_02: There's not a one size fits all.
• 9:33
SPEAKER_02: It's not a we're all the same, we're all different, unique individuals trying to figure it out, trying to find our way.
• 9:41
SPEAKER_02: We all don't come with manuals.
• 9:43
SPEAKER_02: So like just not feeling alone, y in some of these stories, some listeners, readers, they may see themselves there and just being able to know, like from myself when I shared my story, um, just to let one mom know that she's not alone meant more to me than anything.
• 10:03
SPEAKER_02: And I just think people reading this when they see all the different stories from ladies all over, I think that's just a great inspiration and it may just spread hope.
• 10:14
  SPEAKER_01: Mm-hmm.
• 10:15
SPEAKER_01: Oh, oh yes, I love that to spread hope through these stories, because that is so true because sometimes they can feel that they're the only one going through anything like this, and they read their s read these stories and realize that there is hope.
• 10:32
SPEAKER_01: There's others that have had these challenges and gone through it and come out on the other side even more vibrant and beautiful than they were before.
• 10:42
SPEAKER_01: So yes, oh that was beautiful.
• 10:44
SPEAKER_01: I love to spread the hope.
• 10:46
SPEAKER_02: That's that is most definitely and and we as women like we are emotional creatures.
• 10:52
SPEAKER_02: We hold baggage of emotions of all sorts.
• 10:56
SPEAKER_02: And I just feel like like sticking together, lifting each other up, feeling hope, inspiring each other, it can really change lives.
• 11:06
  SPEAKER_01: Oh yes.
• 11:07
SPEAKER_01: Oh, how very well said.
• 11:08
SPEAKER_01: Oh yes, Cheryl, that is beautiful.
• 11:11
SPEAKER_01: Well, Cheryl, this has just been a fantastic interview with you.
