- 2:26Speaker 1: We have got the very very legendary, very very talented.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Oh geez, Snow, Snow, the product is here. Legend gentlemen,
- 2:32Speaker 1: thank you, thank you so much. Welcome to the podcast.
- 2:35Speaker 1: You've been killing shit during the quarantine. I was talking
- 2:39Speaker 1: to you. I was like, man, your podcast is going crazy.
- 2:42Speaker 1: You're independent much as yours. No, I'm trying to learn
- 2:45Speaker 1: from you. And yes, you've seen me. You've it's been
- 2:47Speaker 1: a long journey between us. Huh yeah. I think the
- 2:50Speaker 1: first time we ever met was at south By Southwest
- 2:53Speaker 1: and you had a bit of a grudge against me.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Because the interview. The interview never came out. Yeah, an
- 2:59Speaker 1: interview never came out. I don't know what happened. I
- 3:02Speaker 1: was drunk at south By interviewing people. I think it
- 3:05Speaker 1: was twenty thirteen. Yeah, and and yeah, I know that
- 3:10Speaker 1: I was just salty because that happened to me with
- 3:11Speaker 1: a few different people. It's way even, I told you,
- 3:14Speaker 1: And I was just like, yo, I feel like everybody
- 3:17Speaker 1: just doesn't want a Mexican girl to fucking say her shit.
- 3:20Speaker 1: But no, I understand as someone who's married to a
- 3:22Speaker 1: Mexican woman and who has had a child with another
- 3:25Speaker 1: Mexican woman. Okay, I love Mexican women. You just don't
- 3:28Speaker 1: want to hear us talk. All I do is I'm
- 3:32Speaker 1: just kidding. I'm just kidding, Na. But obviously, you know
- 3:36Speaker 1: you've had a long journey, and you know now that
- 3:38Speaker 1: you're independent, you got no management. You had a stint
- 3:43Speaker 1: with like Atlantic Records that was probably less than fulfilling. Yeah. Yeah,
- 3:50Speaker 1: what made you like just decide to just go all
- 3:52Speaker 1: in on just fully independence and getting rid of management
- 3:55Speaker 1: all that? Because even people are independent usually have management. Yeah,
- 3:58Speaker 1: I I feel like, huh, where do I start. I'm
- 4:04Speaker 1: a very accountable person, like if I fuck up, like
- 4:07Speaker 1: I'll tell you and like I'll you know what I mean.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Like I just was raised like that. My dad was
- 4:11Speaker 1: a very macho like Mexican man that was just like
- 4:13Speaker 1: you know, my word is my bond and all the shit.
- 4:15Speaker 1: So like he really was like you're and I was
- 4:17Speaker 1: a tomboy, so like he really was like you're gonna
- 4:19Speaker 1: be like that, Like I don't care that you're a girl.
- 4:21Speaker 1: You better you know always, so I always have been accountable.
- 4:24Speaker 1: So whenever I realized that this industry has a lot
- 4:28Speaker 1: of people that are not accountable or like, you know,
- 4:31Speaker 1: whenever mistakes happen, if people just own up to him,
- 4:33Speaker 1: that's cool. But whenever it starts being finger pointing and whatever,
- 4:36Speaker 1: when you got too many chefs in the kitchen, what
- 4:37Speaker 1: happens is there's way more people to point the fingers.
- 4:40Speaker 1: So now you start kind of getting fucked up. And
- 4:42Speaker 1: I think Dave Chappelle said this in an interview, like
- 4:44Speaker 1: if you feeling like people want you to fucking go crazy,
- 4:46Speaker 1: like you'd be like yo, like are y'all doing this
- 4:48Speaker 1: on purpose? Like I can't tell what's going on? So
- 4:51Speaker 1: I needed to distance myself from everything and everyone and
- 4:54Speaker 1: be like, okay, like let me reset and make sure
- 4:56Speaker 1: I'm not tripping because I have fans, I do, go
- 5:00Speaker 1: on tour. I work my fucking ass off. I get
- 5:02Speaker 1: up at seven in the morning, I go to sleep
- 5:04Speaker 1: at you know, midnight. I'm recording, or I'm vlogging, or
- 5:07Speaker 1: I'm shooting videos, or I'm editing or I'm I'm doing
- 5:09Speaker 1: all these things. I'm like, no way you could tell
- 5:11Speaker 1: me it's all on me, you know what I mean.
- 5:14Speaker 1: But I feel like people would make me feel like
- 5:15Speaker 1: it was all on me. So I was like, all right, bet,
- 5:17Speaker 1: like let's just do it and if I take my
- 5:18Speaker 1: l then I'll take my l proudly and if I win,
- 5:20Speaker 1: then I'll win. And lucky for me, I just valued
- 5:25Speaker 1: being happy and I'm very happy right now. So how
- 5:27Speaker 1: long ago did that like officially like come into like
- 5:30Speaker 1: like how long did you get out of the Atlantic
- 5:31Speaker 1: situation and become fully like Indie from everything. It's gonna
- 5:34Speaker 1: be two years, I think, like a year and a
- 5:36Speaker 1: half or something like that. I think I'm very bad
- 5:39Speaker 1: with time. But like, so what if you noticed, like
- 5:44Speaker 1: did you notice that it wasn't like you weren't crazy,
- 5:46Speaker 1: especially yeah and well, and then it took it took
- 5:49Speaker 1: a while to fire my earth like to get separate
- 5:52Speaker 1: ways with my management. I had done it before with
- 5:55Speaker 1: another manager that it just kind of wasn't working. I
- 5:57Speaker 1: just felt like, you know, in this industry, as an artist,
- 6:03Speaker 1: I understand the artists that want to be industry plants
- 6:05Speaker 1: so bad. I've seen people that are just like they
- 6:07Speaker 1: want everything for them. They want it. They're just like,
- 6:10Speaker 1: you know, please like pull the all these favors, and
- 6:11Speaker 1: I want to feature, and I wanna, you know, go
- 6:13Speaker 1: there and and and you know, suck that guy's dig
- 6:16Speaker 1: and then this guy's dig, and then we're gonna fucking
- 6:18Speaker 1: collab and and I'm gonna take all your fan base.
- 6:20Speaker 1: And It's like I've never been that type, right, So
- 6:22Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't see why I need to do
- 6:24Speaker 1: it that way. If I'm the type like I'll earn
- 6:26Speaker 1: my fan base one at a time, like I'll drop
- 6:28Speaker 1: my own videos. I'm not gonna be begging people for
- 6:30Speaker 1: features like let's just you know. So to me, the
- 6:34Speaker 1: biggest thing I feel like I noticed was just peace
- 6:36Speaker 1: of mind, was just realizing that if you're an artist
- 6:40Speaker 1: you're you're a small business, So why don't you just
- 6:42Speaker 1: scale that shit? You know what I mean? Like, rather
- 6:44Speaker 1: than having a thousand fans, have two thousand and now
- 6:47Speaker 1: three thousand and now four thousand, and the same way
- 6:49Speaker 1: that if you own a fucking tire shop or a
- 6:51Speaker 1: donut shop, like you're gonna do marketing, You're gonna fucking
- 6:55Speaker 1: you know, get up and work every day. Like it's
- 6:57Speaker 1: the same fucking shit. I just I don't see why.
- 7:00Speaker 1: I don't see why I should be treated any different.
- 7:02Speaker 1: And when I when I treated it like that and
- 7:03Speaker 1: I started actually seeing money, I was like, Yo, if
- 7:06Speaker 1: I could feed my family and I can employ my family,
- 7:08Speaker 1: and I could make sure that I spend time with
- 7:10Speaker 1: my kid and my girl and my friends and my family,
- 7:13Speaker 1: like the fuck that is the dream, you know? Like
- 7:14Speaker 1: what am I really reaching for? Like I want to
- 7:16Speaker 1: be on Rolling Stone? Like I don't give a fuck. Yes,
- 7:18Speaker 1: I always tell people, I'm like, hey, like, you know,
- 7:21Speaker 1: you could fuck buying followers. You would rather have a
- 7:24Speaker 1: thousand people following you that are actually that will give
- 7:28Speaker 1: you money, that will support whatever you're doing, then having
- 7:31Speaker 1: like one hundred thousand of this motherfuckers who are following
- 7:34Speaker 1: you for the wrong reasons. Yeah, oh yeah, and I've
- 7:36Speaker 1: seen that too, Like I'll be seeing people stunting with
- 7:39Speaker 1: their numbers and it's like brother fake, Like we all
- 7:41Speaker 1: see it, like it's fake, even if they're fake. It's like,
- 7:43Speaker 1: how can you have a million followers but you put
- 7:46Speaker 1: out an album and it sells like four thousand copies?
- 7:48Speaker 1: Like what's the point then? Or even as simple as
- 7:51Speaker 1: like you have all these followers, you have like one
- 7:53Speaker 1: hundred thousand followers, but you get like this many likes
- 7:55Speaker 1: or whatever it is like or they're all like fucking
- 7:57Speaker 1: Russian bots. Is like ugh, like it's the worst waste
- 8:00Speaker 1: of money. I always tell people like, if you're gonna
- 8:02Speaker 1: spend money on followers, spend money on like shit that
- 8:05Speaker 1: like actually translate to real people fucking with you, even
- 8:09Speaker 1: if it's ten of them, like you know what I'm saying,
- 8:11Speaker 1: Like or even that, like the type of fan base
- 8:13Speaker 1: you get by having inflated numbers, Like let's say let's
- 8:15Speaker 1: say somebody goes and sees your page and goes, hm,
- 8:18Speaker 1: he has a lot of followers. Let me like, let
- 8:19Speaker 1: me follow up, Like those are like fly by Night followers.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Those aren't really the ones that are gonna like love
- 8:24Speaker 1: you for you and be with you for the struggle,
- 8:26Speaker 1: and you know what I mean. Like so to me,
- 8:28Speaker 1: I don't know. I think just maturity kind of has
- 8:31Speaker 1: made me realize, like I want to fucking be happy.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Like I you know, I had a kid that I
- 8:38Speaker 1: would have to leave for two month tours and not
- 8:40Speaker 1: see him, you know, And it's like as a mom,
- 8:42Speaker 1: you know, like I was fucking crying in my hotel room,
- 8:44Speaker 1: Like all I wanted to do was like be with him.
- 8:46Speaker 1: So it's like, why would I put myself through all
- 8:49Speaker 1: that ten He's ten, now, Yeah, why would I put
- 8:52Speaker 1: myself through all that shit and not be able to
- 8:54Speaker 1: spend the time I want with him? So it's like
- 8:56Speaker 1: I just value life, you know what I mean. We're
- 8:57Speaker 1: all gonna fucking die at some point, might as well, yeah,
- 9:00Speaker 1: account you know, when it comes to I feel like
- 9:04Speaker 1: there's no shortcut to getting the type of filowing you
- 9:08Speaker 1: have because you have fans who like are fully engaged
- 9:12Speaker 1: in your life and they're fully invested in you as
- 9:15Speaker 1: like a person. So if you drop a T shirt
- 9:17Speaker 1: or you put out a new record or whatever, like
- 9:19Speaker 1: they're there you go on tour like a lot of
- 9:21Speaker 1: people who have way more followers than you can't tour
- 9:24Speaker 1: like you, Yeah, why give a fuck? You know what
- 9:26Speaker 1: I mean. I think that's the biggest thing is like
- 9:28Speaker 1: I actually care about these human beings. Like there's been
- 9:30Speaker 1: times when I can put up the ticket price or
- 9:32Speaker 1: I can you know, I've had these conversations with like
- 9:34Speaker 1: industry people like well, why don't you just do this
- 9:36Speaker 1: or charge more for this or whatever? And I'm like, bro,
- 9:38Speaker 1: you gotta know what type of fans I have. Like
- 9:40Speaker 1: I have fans that you know, single moms or kids
- 9:43Speaker 1: you know that come from parents you know their parents
- 9:45Speaker 1: are immigrants or whatever. Like you can't just be like, oh, bet,
- 9:48Speaker 1: pay one hundred and fifty now for my ticket just
- 9:49Speaker 1: because I want to want to. Yeah, Like, no, that's
- 9:52Speaker 1: not that's fucking scummy. And I think that's one thing
- 9:55Speaker 1: that goes along way for people, you know, And and
- 9:58Speaker 1: there's both type of artists you could be that you
- 10:00Speaker 1: can be all about the cloud and you can be popping,
- 10:03Speaker 1: and that's cool if that's what you want with your life,
- 10:05Speaker 1: not knocking you at all. Me personally, I don't feel
- 10:08Speaker 1: good about that. And I can't live a life where
- 10:11Speaker 1: I just like feel shitty about myself. Well, also, you
- 10:14Speaker 1: like physically see your fans, like you're like, like you
- 10:16Speaker 1: gotta see these people on tour. Yeah, I'm on stage
- 10:19Speaker 1: and I'm like staring at them, and I'm like, damn,
- 10:20Speaker 1: I feel bad. Like no, like, but there is scummy
- 10:23Speaker 1: people in this industry. That's why there's motherfuckers that gotta
- 10:25Speaker 1: be high. They gotta stay high. Like you done did
- 10:27Speaker 1: so much scummy shit in your life. You gotta stay
- 10:30Speaker 1: high and fucking be able to live with yourself. And
- 10:32Speaker 1: it's like, goddamn, yeah, it's crazy. I'm not talking about weed,
- 10:35Speaker 1: by the way. I'm just talking about people that just
- 10:36Speaker 1: got other shit. Yeh See, people just go I'm fucked off.
- 10:39Speaker 1: You're like, damn, bro, Like just I think I think
- 10:42Speaker 1: we had. I would say this, like the dark age
- 10:45Speaker 1: of music that I've ever been involved in was like
- 10:47Speaker 1: two thousand and late twenty sixteen to like twenty eighteen
- 10:52Speaker 1: was probably the worst I've ever seen hip hop in
- 10:55Speaker 1: terms of what the industry would support, right, It'd be
- 10:59Speaker 1: like like literal people getting major record deals based on
- 11:04Speaker 1: antics on Instagram, not based on anything else, just based
- 11:08Speaker 1: on numbers and bullshit. Yeah, and like I think we've
- 11:12Speaker 1: started to kind of get like turn a corner on
- 11:15Speaker 1: that era. Yeah, because it was like, you know, the
- 11:17Speaker 1: little pumps and the six nines and yeah, and then
- 11:20Speaker 1: there was you know, just Instagram pranksters getting record deals,
- 11:25Speaker 1: which is like with me feeling bad for that, I
- 11:28Speaker 1: don't know. I'm very momish, you know. So it's like
- 11:32Speaker 1: I felt bad because those people got to live with
- 11:35Speaker 1: those with with those like what comes with that? You
- 11:38Speaker 1: feel like a lot of there was a lot of
- 11:40Speaker 1: a lot of major label people or you know, industry
- 11:43Speaker 1: people that are just like, all right, bet I'm gonna
- 11:44Speaker 1: take this kid and they're gonna have a baby. Was
- 11:47Speaker 1: like a perfect example. I was like, how did this
- 11:49Speaker 1: bitch get a record deal? I feel like here's the
- 11:51Speaker 1: thing though, And I might disagree with you on that
- 11:52Speaker 1: only because I feel like bad baby actually worked hard
- 11:55Speaker 1: at rapping. Like I feel like she you really put
- 11:58Speaker 1: all right, but she initially I feel like she initially
- 12:01Speaker 1: got her deal. I'm not I don't she had some
- 12:04Speaker 1: ship that wasn't terrible. The delivery matters because there's a
- 12:07Speaker 1: lot of rappers that are getting written Cardi B's delivery
- 12:11Speaker 1: is crazy. You're trying to get a headline out of
- 12:14Speaker 1: no no no no no no no. You don't want
- 12:16Speaker 1: to say nothing. I'm being honest, Like Cardi B don't
- 12:18Speaker 1: do me one of my cardib is one of my
- 12:22Speaker 1: favorite artists. I love Cardi B. There's like she really
- 12:24Speaker 1: can't do no wrong in my book. But like you said,
- 12:26Speaker 1: like I don't give a fuck if someone writes for her,
- 12:28Speaker 1: I don't carer sh it is fire. I just think
- 12:31Speaker 1: the Bad Baby deal initially happened, and I'm not even
- 12:34Speaker 1: mad at some of this ship she ended up putting out,
- 12:36Speaker 1: but she got signed based on just her being a
- 12:40Speaker 1: meme and then she you know, she committed to actually
- 12:45Speaker 1: you know, the craft are trying to like you know
- 12:48Speaker 1: what I mean, Like, I'm not even mad at Bad
- 12:49Speaker 1: Baby as much as I'm mad at some other people,
- 12:51Speaker 1: but like she got signed initially because she was a meme.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Now she ran with that and she actually took it
- 12:58Speaker 1: serious and she still is trying to take a serious
- 13:00Speaker 1: So you know, I'm not trying to throw the shade air.
- 13:02Speaker 1: But that was like an example of like she got
- 13:04Speaker 1: signed because of some ig shit, but I hit her
- 13:07Speaker 1: up when when when she got signed and I was like, yo,
- 13:09Speaker 1: on some real shit because I was at Atlantic at
- 13:10Speaker 1: the time, and I was like, on some real shit,
- 13:12Speaker 1: like good shit, you know, because I remember how much
- 13:14Speaker 1: people were shitting on her on the internet, and I
- 13:16Speaker 1: was like, bro, as a fifteen year old girl to
- 13:19Speaker 1: get I don't think I could have emotionally handled some
- 13:22Speaker 1: of the shit that this girl handled, feel me, So
- 13:24Speaker 1: you got to give some kids some props of like,
- 13:26Speaker 1: god damn, you sat there and took that and turned
- 13:28Speaker 1: it into something and you got an opportunity you took
- 13:31Speaker 1: run with it, you know what I mean. And I
- 13:33Speaker 1: think I think that's what because my girl was saying
- 13:35Speaker 1: something about there's this TikToker that you know, had a
- 13:37Speaker 1: hard life or whatever, and then she just killed herself,
- 13:39Speaker 1: and I'm just like, you know, it's like you got
- 13:41Speaker 1: to understand that these kids end up having to deal
- 13:44Speaker 1: with all this shit and all this hay, like they're
- 13:46Speaker 1: not growing up how like we did, you know, back
- 13:48Speaker 1: in like with MySpace or whatever. It's like it wasn't
- 13:50Speaker 1: as bad as now nowadays. Motherfucker's like on Twitter or
- 13:53Speaker 1: you know, Instagram, like you really can get fun you
- 13:55Speaker 1: see those comments and you start comparing yourself to whatever
- 13:59Speaker 1: you see. Yeah, I can't even imagine. Like, you know,
- 14:03Speaker 1: I got a niece who is just on her phone NonStop.
- 14:07Speaker 1: I could see it with my own eyes. That'd be
- 14:08Speaker 1: fucking with her, Like, yeah, what what's popping on Instagram?
- 14:12Speaker 1: What is considered pretty on Instagram? Yeah? And then comments
- 14:16Speaker 1: like these motherfuckers are like, we've never had to deal
- 14:18Speaker 1: with that as kids. Yeah, And I don't know, I
- 14:21Speaker 1: think you and I might be close in age. I'm
- 14:23Speaker 1: thirty three. Yeah. I think the most I ever dealt
- 14:26Speaker 1: with was like like MySpace, and that was when I
- 14:29Speaker 1: was like eighteen. Yeah, yeah, I mean it's one of
- 14:32Speaker 1: them things where you know, society, you know what I mean.
- 14:36Speaker 1: And it's like now it's getting to a point where
- 14:38Speaker 1: like whether you're traveling, politics, hip hop, sports, fucking business
- 14:42Speaker 1: in general, like you know, Fortune five hundred companies, like
- 14:45Speaker 1: there's a real responsibility of being a good human being
- 14:47Speaker 1: because we are on the same fucking moving rock and
- 14:50Speaker 1: we're about to fuck this bitch up. Also like also
- 14:53Speaker 1: going down because you're fucking idiot ass made some stupid
- 14:56Speaker 1: ass decisions, and also like be a good person because
- 15:01Speaker 1: now there's a record of you being a piece of
- 15:03Speaker 1: shit on the Internet forever. Okay, So I don't like
- 15:06Speaker 1: cancel culture as like that much. But also I don't
- 15:09Speaker 1: like the cancel cancel culture people that are like, you
- 15:12Speaker 1: shouldn't have repercussions for what you've said you should there
- 15:14Speaker 1: should be something that you have to deal with for
- 15:16Speaker 1: being a shitty person, Like there should be a record
- 15:18Speaker 1: there of like mad races before. Like I certainly think that,
- 15:23Speaker 1: you know, the cancel like, there's like a with anything, right,
- 15:25Speaker 1: there's like a middle ground where it's like I'm kind
- 15:27Speaker 1: of on the same wavelength as you. I'm like, Yo,
- 15:29Speaker 1: there's people that literally deserve to get canceled, and then
- 15:32Speaker 1: there's other shit that's like what are we doing here? Yeah,
- 15:34Speaker 1: like come on, guys, yeah, you know what I'm saying.
- 15:37Speaker 1: It's like, I guess it's just kind of is you know.
- 15:41Speaker 1: It's the same thing with like the me too shit.
- 15:42Speaker 1: It's like there's situations for like, yeah, this shit is great,
- 15:45Speaker 1: and then there's other situations where there's people getting called
- 15:48Speaker 1: out with no proof and then their life is ruined.
- 15:51Speaker 1: So it's like there's got to be a balance, And
- 15:53Speaker 1: I think with the cancel culture. Shit, that's like a
- 15:55Speaker 1: you know, yeah, there's people getting canceled, and I'm like, bro,
- 16:00Speaker 1: it's a stretch. Yeah. I feel like there's people that
- 16:02Speaker 1: just sit on Twitter all day just waiting to fucking
- 16:04Speaker 1: just hop on someone. Yeah, I've even gotten there, like
- 16:07Speaker 1: and you know me, for a long time, I've been
- 16:09Speaker 1: this Mexican wave waving the flag my people, you know,
- 16:13Speaker 1: and then I'll get sometimes like Chikana's coming at me
- 16:16Speaker 1: like blah blah, like over semantics, you know, like something
- 16:19Speaker 1: fucking small, and then it's just like could never be me.
- 16:21Speaker 1: I'm like, bitch, it could never be you. This has
- 16:24Speaker 1: been on a decade of me doing what you now
- 16:27Speaker 1: see as like a hot point or like a fucking
- 16:31Speaker 1: and now you want to say something and you want
- 16:33Speaker 1: to come at me like, no, bitch, there's a fucking
- 16:36Speaker 1: record that bitch has been doing this for a long time.
- 16:38Speaker 1: And I just feel like there is this weird sense
- 16:42Speaker 1: of entitlement with people that are just like like they
- 16:45Speaker 1: could do it better, but unless you're actually doing it,
- 16:47Speaker 1: like you gotta leave room for error for people just
- 16:50Speaker 1: imagine like wanting to like like come off like you're
- 16:54Speaker 1: doing right, but you're putting the effort that you could
- 16:56Speaker 1: be putting into whatever that is, into pointing out someone else.
- 17:01Speaker 1: Like you said, semantics. Really a lot of this cancer
- 17:03Speaker 1: culture shit is like semantics. It's like what are we
- 17:05Speaker 1: really tripping over? Like yeah, twelve year old tweets, Yeah,
- 17:09Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, like like again or like
- 17:11Speaker 1: or like a little like one degree of like being
- 17:14Speaker 1: like you know, one little fact was wrong as opposed
- 17:17Speaker 1: to like the big rusher of like brouh, Like I'm
- 17:19Speaker 1: a fucking human being, you know what I'm saying, Like
- 17:21Speaker 1: I'm allowed to yah misspeak or yeah, it's it's pretty crazy.
- 17:25Speaker 1: But at the same time, isn't it so crazy that
- 17:27Speaker 1: it's kind of funny? Like don't you sometimes sit back,
- 17:29Speaker 1: Like sometimes I all look at the internet like, bro,
- 17:31Speaker 1: this is so dumb. Like I've literally been in some conversations,
- 17:36Speaker 1: mind you important ones when like a room and I'll
- 17:38Speaker 1: literally be sitting there and I'll be like, I'm not
- 17:40Speaker 1: even gonna argue with this person who thinks they're on
- 17:41Speaker 1: their soapbox right now, because I'm like, what am I
- 17:43Speaker 1: gonna get out of this? Like we're gonna fucking argue,
- 17:45Speaker 1: just gonna get worked up, you're dumb, and that's it.
- 17:48Speaker 1: And I think that's I think the first couple of
- 17:51Speaker 1: years of Trump being president, I was like super like
- 17:54Speaker 1: stressed and engaged with people on the internet, even like
- 17:56Speaker 1: some of my own cousins. And then the last couple
- 17:59Speaker 1: of years, I'm just like, you know what, like I
- 18:02Speaker 1: can't give my own personal like peace to this shit.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Don't wry, yeah, because it's like what, like like the
- 18:08Speaker 1: people who are over here, there's just nothing you could
- 18:11Speaker 1: say to them, yeah, to make them feel any sort
- 18:13Speaker 1: of difference. So what do you what are you arguing for? Like, yeah,
- 18:16Speaker 1: you know, like if fuck, if your mood or exactly,
- 18:19Speaker 1: or it's like like like sometimes if they look turn
- 18:22Speaker 1: aroundable because sometimes my girl will get on me too,
- 18:24Speaker 1: like she'll be like, why are you arguing or whatever?
- 18:25Speaker 1: And I'm like, Okay, if there's something that's being said,
- 18:28Speaker 1: that's like, let me correct that and maybe you get it.
- 18:31Speaker 1: But if there's just some straight up like like fucking,
- 18:35Speaker 1: I guess right a field. I was gonna say left
- 18:36Speaker 1: a field, but I guess right a field, I'm just
- 18:39Speaker 1: like whatever, dude, like you're not you know. But there
- 18:41Speaker 1: has been a lot of times when even someone hating
- 18:43Speaker 1: on me or something like if I tell them, well,
- 18:45Speaker 1: actually that's not what it was. It was this. There's
- 18:47Speaker 1: people that will literally be like, oh wow, thank you
- 18:49Speaker 1: for well, you know what's crazy is most of the time,
- 18:51Speaker 1: and you have haters on the internet because I've had
- 18:53Speaker 1: this on a much smaller scale than you could ever
- 18:55Speaker 1: because you're way bigger than me. But like, someone will
- 18:58Speaker 1: slide on my dms not thinking I'll ever reply, talking
- 19:01Speaker 1: some shit about something. Yeah, like maybe I'm misspoken to
- 19:04Speaker 1: interview whatever it is, and then if I reply, they're like, oh, man,
- 19:07Speaker 1: you know what, you're coolest shit? Man, my bad bro,
- 19:09Speaker 1: I was tripping like that. Shit happens all the time.
- 19:12Speaker 1: I'd be crazy. Yeah, no, I'm saying more like whenever
- 19:15Speaker 1: people are like, oh, like, oh this fucking white bitch
- 19:18Speaker 1: rapping she don't know shit, and I'm like, well, I'm
- 19:20Speaker 1: not white, I'm Mexican, you know, And then they'll be like, oh, well,
- 19:23Speaker 1: what's the difference. I'm like, well, you know, like a lot,
- 19:27Speaker 1: a lot, like a lot, but you know, but not
- 19:30Speaker 1: if we're all human race, you know, what, which way
- 19:32Speaker 1: do you want to talk about this? You know, you
- 19:33Speaker 1: want to talk about human race and on a big
- 19:35Speaker 1: fucking rock, or you want to talk about you know,
- 19:38Speaker 1: how I grew up or environment or class or what
- 19:41Speaker 1: what way do you want to take this? Mostly I
- 19:43Speaker 1: argue back with people whenever I'm on the toilet. If
- 19:45Speaker 1: I'm not, you're not getting it's a great place, for sure.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Yeah I got time, Like I literally have time. I
- 19:50Speaker 1: literally have time right now. I'm like, you know, could
- 19:52Speaker 1: have had more fiber. I'm gonna sit here for a
- 19:54Speaker 1: little bit. Let's talk about it. Oh that's great, So
- 19:59Speaker 1: talk to me about your experience. Because so for people
- 20:02Speaker 1: who don't know, because I think a lot of people
- 20:03Speaker 1: probably assumed you were independent this whole time because you
- 20:06Speaker 1: moved around like an independent artist, but you were on
- 20:08Speaker 1: Atlantic for how many years? Saved my life forever. But
- 20:11Speaker 1: the thing is, and this is the thing with a
- 20:13Speaker 1: lot of people, because I had somebody argue with me recently, like, oh,
- 20:16Speaker 1: you were on a label, so you can't talk. And
- 20:18Speaker 1: it's like, actually being shelved on a label is worse
- 20:20Speaker 1: than being independent. I promise you never did shit for you. Yeah,
- 20:24Speaker 1: So I'm like, being shelved on a label is actually
- 20:27Speaker 1: way worse than doing it on your own because I
- 20:30Speaker 1: couldn't drop music, you know what I mean. Like I
- 20:32Speaker 1: couldn't upload to like something with it's ten dollars to
- 20:36Speaker 1: upload on tune Core. I couldn't even do that. So
- 20:38Speaker 1: now I'm dealing with I could be in reach of contract,
- 20:41Speaker 1: I could do it, like all these different things going on,
- 20:43Speaker 1: and I'm uploading to YouTube because it's safe. But you know,
- 20:47Speaker 1: but then so I'm being seen as an artist but
- 20:50Speaker 1: not really being able to drop music. So you cannot
- 20:53Speaker 1: you really can't monetize what you like. You know, it
- 20:56Speaker 1: was bad, bro, I didn't have There was times when
- 20:57Speaker 1: I was broke as fuck, and like literally I just
- 21:01Speaker 1: I let the world not know that because I was
- 21:05Speaker 1: just like, yo, that'll be the end of my career
- 21:07Speaker 1: if I literally let people know how bad I'm fucking doing.
- 21:09Speaker 1: But at the same time, I had my my you know,
- 21:12Speaker 1: my marriage or whatever to pay bills or whatever. I
- 21:14Speaker 1: never had. I wasn't I never did no questionable shit
- 21:17Speaker 1: because like I'm a hard worker, bro, I fucking work
- 21:20Speaker 1: at the grocery store. If I need to, like, I
- 21:22Speaker 1: don't give a fuck, you know, So to me, I
- 21:26Speaker 1: moved how I needed a move, and I gave Atlantic
- 21:30Speaker 1: their their due respect for giving me an opportunity. Like
- 21:33Speaker 1: I've said before, I don't I don't say that they
- 21:36Speaker 1: fucking ruined my life or anything. I think part of
- 21:38Speaker 1: it was like I shouldn't known when to leave. I
- 21:40Speaker 1: shouldn't have given it the time I did, you know,
- 21:43Speaker 1: Like same thing with friends sometimes, like or a relationship,
- 21:46Speaker 1: like you knew when it was time to go, and
- 21:47Speaker 1: you stuck around with the hopes of shit getting better,
- 21:50Speaker 1: you know, or like you were like damn, like you know.
- 21:52Speaker 1: One time, I remember I was gonna when I wrote
- 21:54Speaker 1: this song called I Don't Want to Leave. I was
- 21:55Speaker 1: crying when I wrote that. I literally was like about
- 21:58Speaker 1: to leave Atlantic, and I literally named the song I
- 22:00Speaker 1: Don't Want to Leave because I was like I signed
- 22:02Speaker 1: to this thinking that I was going to represent for
- 22:04Speaker 1: my culture and for my family, and I was going
- 22:06Speaker 1: to be put on this platform where I fucking no,
- 22:09Speaker 1: not even a pedestal for me, a platform for me
- 22:11Speaker 1: to be able to speak on something that hasn't been
- 22:13Speaker 1: on a large scale nowadays. Nowadays you see a lot
- 22:15Speaker 1: more Mexican rappers waving the flag and shit, but back then,
- 22:18Speaker 1: there was none. Trust me, like I always tell everybody like,
- 22:21Speaker 1: I think you kind of broke the mold of where
- 22:26Speaker 1: like how we look at Mexican embassies because back then
- 22:29Speaker 1: it was we just automatically went to like thinking of
- 22:34Speaker 1: like Little Rob and those guys, and there was some
- 22:38Speaker 1: guys that were like obviously you know, super dope, like
- 22:41Speaker 1: cycle around like Cyper Salo shit like that. But like,
- 22:44Speaker 1: I feel like in your era, like you were the
- 22:46Speaker 1: first person to come along. Even the record you do
- 22:48Speaker 1: to MC Magic and Twist, you were like snapping, yeah,
- 22:52Speaker 1: I remember because that's the first time I ever heard you,
- 22:53Speaker 1: and I remember hitting Magic like who's this girl on
- 22:56Speaker 1: this song? We could really rap? Yeah, And we have
- 22:58Speaker 1: done that track like a two before, but it didn't
- 23:02Speaker 1: drop till I started kind of picking myself up, you
- 23:05Speaker 1: know what I mean. So I think because I've seen
- 23:06Speaker 1: somebody recently be like you know that she kind of rap,
- 23:09Speaker 1: you know, get open the door for me or whatever,
- 23:10Speaker 1: and I'm like, look, all respected Chicino rap and I
- 23:13Speaker 1: and I feel that. But at the same time, we're
- 23:15Speaker 1: talking about hip hop and being Mexican, and it's like
- 23:18Speaker 1: there is sonically musically a difference, you know what I mean,
- 23:23Speaker 1: And it's like it's not because I think any less
- 23:26Speaker 1: of it because it's dope, Like I'll get on a
- 23:28Speaker 1: feature or something, but I just come from hip hop,
- 23:32Speaker 1: you know what I mean. Like it's it's kind of
- 23:34Speaker 1: like if there's like SoundCloud rapp right now or some
- 23:36Speaker 1: sort of like type of music and I'm like, yo,
- 23:39Speaker 1: like you know, I did, like no, like we gotta
- 23:42Speaker 1: know the difference between sonically like or genres or whatever
- 23:44Speaker 1: the fuck you know. But with me, with that that
- 23:48Speaker 1: whole waving the flag shit, I feel like I was
- 23:51Speaker 1: doing it out of the need because I didn't see it.
- 23:54Speaker 1: It wasn't because I was like I'm gonna be the one.
- 23:56Speaker 1: It was just kind of like, yo, I don't see
- 23:58Speaker 1: it being done. So let me. I think you're like,
- 24:00Speaker 1: you're the first artist in a long time that was
- 24:03Speaker 1: dope that happened to be Mexican as opposed to seeing
- 24:05Speaker 1: a Mexican artist as ay like he like like when
- 24:08Speaker 1: you think of Little Rob, and I fuck with Robs,
- 24:11Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. And he's got some fucking classics,
- 24:13Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. But when I think a
- 24:15Speaker 1: Little Rob, I think of like, yeah, he's Mexican and oh,
- 24:19Speaker 1: and any you think of it like you're like a
- 24:21Speaker 1: dope rapper first and then it's like, oh shit, she's Mexican.
- 24:25Speaker 1: I didn't eve. I wouldn't have known, you know what
- 24:26Speaker 1: I'm saying. I think. I think it's just like I said,
- 24:29Speaker 1: sonically and the the Ship, how you grew up, you know.
- 24:33Speaker 1: I grew up listening to like E forty and mac
- 24:36Speaker 1: dre and Too Short and Baby and pun and like
- 24:39Speaker 1: you know, Lauren Hill and the Outcast, and it's like
- 24:42Speaker 1: that's it's just a different and it's like no offense,
- 24:45Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Like I don't, it's just
- 24:47Speaker 1: different the same feel me. Yeah, and and for example,
- 24:50Speaker 1: and I had to take the hits for that because
- 24:52Speaker 1: at the same time, I would go to a car
- 24:54Speaker 1: show and perform and the fucking all the trolls in
- 24:57Speaker 1: the crowd would look at me like the this bitch
- 24:59Speaker 1: doing this girl straight up? You know, or like you know,
- 25:01Speaker 1: I've I've had to be in those rooms where you know,
- 25:03Speaker 1: there's somebody checking me and being like, oh you're you
- 25:05Speaker 1: know what I mean, like you what you chasing other
- 25:08Speaker 1: races for? Like, we have to deal with our colorism
- 25:11Speaker 1: and our issues in our fucking culture, you know, with
- 25:15Speaker 1: with with crossing those those lines and shit, And I've
- 25:19Speaker 1: had to teach my family my friends, like, yo, this
- 25:22Speaker 1: is how you talk. This is why that's wrong. You
- 25:24Speaker 1: need to I stopped talking to most of my fucking
- 25:26Speaker 1: family for the same reason for being homophobic, for being
- 25:30Speaker 1: halfway racist, for being colorists. Like when you go through
- 25:34Speaker 1: all those things and you've tooken the hits for all
- 25:36Speaker 1: those things. When I speak about the experience that I've had,
- 25:40Speaker 1: I also hope that people respect where I'm coming from.
- 25:42Speaker 1: When I'm like kind of rap didn't necessarily open the
- 25:46Speaker 1: door for me because I had to kind of open
- 25:50Speaker 1: another door for myself, you know what I mean, Like
- 25:52Speaker 1: it just is what it is. I had to open
- 25:56Speaker 1: that hip hop door for myself. I feel like when
- 26:00Speaker 1: what what do you think was the first moment where
- 26:02Speaker 1: like people started to like respect you as an MC,
- 26:06Speaker 1: like on a big on a big scale. Because I remember,
- 26:09Speaker 1: like when you were on text album, like that was
- 26:10Speaker 1: a big deal. Like I remember like a few moments
- 26:12Speaker 1: where it was like, oh shits, and I was like
- 26:13Speaker 1: doing her thing like yeah, like can you remember like
- 26:16Speaker 1: what that moment like one of that one of those
- 26:17Speaker 1: first moments were where you started to be respected in
- 26:20Speaker 1: the hip hop community as opposed to like you said,
- 26:23Speaker 1: I think when I did the BT cipher, Yeah, I
- 26:26Speaker 1: think a lot of people kind of like were like, oh,
- 26:29Speaker 1: you know. And and I was in that room, like
- 26:31Speaker 1: in that big auditorium where they did the BT cipher.
- 26:35Speaker 1: I could tell you the reactions to every other cipher
- 26:37Speaker 1: were edited in. There was no reaction to ciphers until
- 26:40Speaker 1: I made that fucking line that that Jocelyn her Nada's line,
- 26:44Speaker 1: you know. And that's when people were like, oh shit,
- 26:46Speaker 1: probably mostly because because she was down the she was
- 26:49Speaker 1: so she was like five people away from me, and
- 26:50Speaker 1: thats a big girl. I was like, holy shit, I'm
- 26:53Speaker 1: about to get my ass b over this fucking line
- 26:55Speaker 1: I just said. But I stand by my shit. I
- 26:57Speaker 1: was like, I better be able to run with these heels.
- 26:59Speaker 1: I didn't. That was one of the first times I
- 27:00Speaker 1: wore heels. I was like, bitch, I'm bother, get my husband.
- 27:02Speaker 1: But nah, she was cool. And that whole thing was
- 27:07Speaker 1: just a moment. You know. I've always used any moment
- 27:09Speaker 1: I got in a big platform to speak up on
- 27:11Speaker 1: what I see and what I think and it's true.
- 27:14Speaker 1: It still stands true today. You know, people want to
- 27:16Speaker 1: talk about narcos and coppos and my plug is Mexican
- 27:19Speaker 1: and my plug is this and whatever. But at the
- 27:21Speaker 1: end of the day, it's like, are you gonna give
- 27:23Speaker 1: those props actually to like people like or are you
- 27:26Speaker 1: just gonna use the low writers and the trollos for
- 27:28Speaker 1: the music video? But like the next time that you're
- 27:30Speaker 1: homie or somebody's rapping that's Mexican, you're gonna act like
- 27:33Speaker 1: they're less. Then I feel like what was about a
- 27:35Speaker 1: year and a half ago, Nico, when there was everybody
- 27:38Speaker 1: was making the same fake ass Mexican song. It was
- 27:41Speaker 1: like Ygi Go Loco and the Unodos three Squatto. It
- 27:44Speaker 1: was like everybody was making that song over and over
- 27:47Speaker 1: again and like having like some breros on in the
- 27:50Speaker 1: videos and shit, and like when you look up Mexican
- 27:53Speaker 1: rapper Ygi pops up, I think as like number one.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Like I remember I was showing my mom because I
- 27:57Speaker 1: was like, oh, you know, I had never googled Mexican
- 27:59Speaker 1: rabber and like I was trying to show her like
- 28:01Speaker 1: if I pop up and it was why Gena some
- 28:03Speaker 1: Barrol like holy shit, you know, and it's like that's
- 28:07Speaker 1: cool or whatever, but also for the feature you get
- 28:10Speaker 1: a Puerto Rican, well, it would have been nice to
- 28:13Speaker 1: fucking give that opportunity to a Mexican person expressly. Why'd
- 28:16Speaker 1: you you know, why'd you had a Mexican sad? Yeah,
- 28:20Speaker 1: and that's and that's cool. But what I'm saying is, like,
- 28:23Speaker 1: you know, in those moments, it is important to shine
- 28:26Speaker 1: light at least have them on the remix. You know,
- 28:28Speaker 1: it's important to shine light on things because I do
- 28:31Speaker 1: think that their needs and from the Mexican community as well,
- 28:34Speaker 1: support for you know, because when the BLM thing was happening,
- 28:37Speaker 1: I saw a lot of people in my culture talking
- 28:39Speaker 1: out of line and being like, you know, saying some
- 28:40Speaker 1: crazy shit, and I'm like no, And that's when I
- 28:43Speaker 1: do go and start arguing and be like, bruh, you
- 28:45Speaker 1: can't be out here representing us like that, because this
- 28:47Speaker 1: is going to start a bigger issue that like my
- 28:49Speaker 1: kids got to deal with, you know, growing up. It's
- 28:51Speaker 1: like I would like it to be to where when
- 28:53Speaker 1: my kid is a teenager, he don't got to deal
- 28:55Speaker 1: with some of the same ship that we had to
- 28:56Speaker 1: deal with growing up. And like those color lines and
- 28:59Speaker 1: like certain things that you will say, and it's like
- 29:02Speaker 1: it's a big teaching moment for everybody. And I'm really like,
- 29:07Speaker 1: it sucks when you really give a fuck, because you
- 29:09Speaker 1: end up heartbroken most of the time about everything. Like
- 29:11Speaker 1: you just be like, oh, you had the perfect chance
- 29:14Speaker 1: to say the right thing, is to say the right thing,
- 29:16Speaker 1: and then you say, yeah, you know, it's funny because
- 29:19Speaker 1: you know, I'm from Phoenix, so a lot of my uh,
- 29:21Speaker 1: you know, promoters I work with. Their clubs are Latino
- 29:24Speaker 1: and a lot of the clubs I do are like
- 29:26Speaker 1: you hate our Pio. Of course he's a piece of shit.
- 29:29Speaker 1: He's still alive. Yeah, he's fucking just re ran and lost,
- 29:33Speaker 1: but he actually got part in by Trump, fucking bitch,
- 29:36Speaker 1: so he went to jail, then got pardoned and then
- 29:38Speaker 1: tried to rerun. The guy's a piece of shit. Arizona
- 29:42Speaker 1: just went blue though. I mean that's good, but what
- 29:44Speaker 1: the fuck? No, No, the Arizona's such a racist place.
- 29:48Speaker 1: Well you remember the SB ten to seventy shit, Like
- 29:50Speaker 1: was that eight years ago with the you know a
- 29:52Speaker 1: lot of people just kind of banned going on tour
- 29:54Speaker 1: there because of that. Yeah, I'm kicked out of a
- 29:56Speaker 1: couple of clubs in Arizona. Definitely I was popping off,
- 30:01Speaker 1: well not clubs, there were venues, but I was popping
- 30:02Speaker 1: off on stage, and I think you know there was
- 30:05Speaker 1: there was just but there was so much like insensitivity
- 30:10Speaker 1: towards that moment, you know, in June when when George
- 30:14Speaker 1: Floyd was murdered in like with some of my homies
- 30:17Speaker 1: who were Latin DJs or I'm like, yo, guys, like
- 30:20Speaker 1: I would like literally DM dudes, Like you know, I
- 30:23Speaker 1: got a homie named Luciano who's big on Instagram and
- 30:27Speaker 1: he's big on TikTok and shit, and he was like
- 30:29Speaker 1: kind of I didn't appreciate the way he was handling
- 30:33Speaker 1: his approach to that online. Yeah cause I'm like, bro,
- 30:35Speaker 1: like your entire livelihood and shout out to him because
- 30:39Speaker 1: he was like, you know what, Bro, You're right, this
- 30:40Speaker 1: is a teachable moment. You know, like your entire livelihood
- 30:43Speaker 1: is based on like promoting clubs where black music is played,
- 30:46Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So like, you know, like
- 30:48Speaker 1: you got to empathize with that. You can't just like
- 30:52Speaker 1: when it's convenient, have your feet in it and then
- 30:55Speaker 1: and then when you don't like what's going on, you're like, man,
- 30:57Speaker 1: that's when, and that's what that that's why it does matter.
- 31:00Speaker 1: And I feel like I get real mad when people
- 31:03Speaker 1: like that was good. You hit him up. You see
- 31:05Speaker 1: something wrong, that's your boy, That's that's exactly. And that's
- 31:08Speaker 1: when you prove that somebody is your homie because you
- 31:10Speaker 1: are hitting them privately about a manner that you think
- 31:13Speaker 1: will in the long run. You know, maybe they don't
- 31:15Speaker 1: understand the only reason I'm speaking on a publiclice because
- 31:17Speaker 1: he spoke on a publiclyas exactly. And it's like, and
- 31:20Speaker 1: it's very important to do that. But I do feel
- 31:21Speaker 1: like a lot of people stay quiet on important issues
- 31:24Speaker 1: or like or they do it on blasts, you know,
- 31:26Speaker 1: like you screenshot something, oh my god, and you put
- 31:28Speaker 1: it to your platform. It's like you're a bitch, Like
- 31:30Speaker 1: you're straight up ho you know what I mean for
- 31:32Speaker 1: doing that, because you could really reach out to the
- 31:34Speaker 1: person publish, I mean privately and try to like teach
- 31:37Speaker 1: them about that moment and be like, hey, maybe you
- 31:38Speaker 1: just you know, this was a slip up. But you know,
- 31:41Speaker 1: I think right now that's what's most important and yeah,
- 31:44Speaker 1: we need to remember what the fuck we do and
- 31:45Speaker 1: and and even just on some world shit. Like I said,
- 31:50Speaker 1: like we're all human beings and like you gotta be
- 31:52Speaker 1: a real shitty person to see somebody die and be like,
- 31:54Speaker 1: but what about what about this? It's like bro like like, oh,
- 32:00Speaker 1: human being died, Like you don't but that you feel
- 32:02Speaker 1: me Like, but I don't know. I got a kid
- 32:05Speaker 1: and I'll be explaining things to him and he'd just
- 32:07Speaker 1: be looking at me. Like last night he literally was like, so,
- 32:11Speaker 1: I'm Puerto Rican, Mexican and Dominican. I'm like, yeah, he's
- 32:14Speaker 1: like he just sat there and I think it was
- 32:16Speaker 1: just hitting him, like you know what I mean. And
- 32:18Speaker 1: I guess I was hitting me too, because I'm like,
- 32:20Speaker 1: I'm Mexican, I grew up Mexican. My kid has all
- 32:23Speaker 1: these cultures, and like I teach him the Mexican side,
- 32:25Speaker 1: but I don't know if he's necessarily learning, you know,
- 32:27Speaker 1: the other sides, or like if he is with you
- 32:30Speaker 1: for the most part. Now he lives with me, yeah, yeah,
- 32:33Speaker 1: he always has. But his dad, his dad's in his life,
- 32:36Speaker 1: is a real good dad. But but he's very you know,
- 32:40Speaker 1: he's a drum supporter. He's not super like Puerto Rican.
- 32:43Speaker 1: He's not gonna teach him how to you know, make
- 32:45Speaker 1: blatanos or anything like. So I'm like, that's crazy to think,
- 32:48Speaker 1: like our kids are gonna be raised, you know, especially
- 32:50Speaker 1: if they're like mixed like or or different ethnicities, like
- 32:54Speaker 1: learning all these things. And that's cool to me because
- 32:57Speaker 1: they're not going to have so many of those color lines,
- 33:00Speaker 1: especially if they grow up just kind of like all over,
- 33:02Speaker 1: they're gonna be like what you know, and so you
- 33:04Speaker 1: do have to teach them about what we've gone through,
- 33:07Speaker 1: just so that they don't make the same fucking mistakes.
- 33:08Speaker 1: Because you know, how is it? How has because I
- 33:12Speaker 1: think the pandemic has uh you know, for me, it's
- 33:16Speaker 1: brought me closer to my family. But also, you know,
- 33:19Speaker 1: both of my kids are in school and they don't
- 33:21Speaker 1: ever they're not ever gone. It's like, I just want
- 33:24Speaker 1: to I wish you all motherfuckers would go to school
- 33:26Speaker 1: for six hours out of the day, but they're sitting
- 33:28Speaker 1: at the kitchen table every fucking day for another computer
- 33:30Speaker 1: doing school. It's like shit, yeah, but it's like what's
- 33:34Speaker 1: going on? Uh yeah, I mean my kid, he loves
- 33:39Speaker 1: the video games and goes. He does go to his
- 33:41Speaker 1: dad's house sometimes, but for the most part he is
- 33:44Speaker 1: at my house and I'd be trying to find chores
- 33:46Speaker 1: for him to do. We were talking about this earlier
- 33:47Speaker 1: about how like with your kids, like we want to
- 33:50Speaker 1: spoil them because we weren't spoiled, So you want to
- 33:52Speaker 1: give them everything and you want to do everything for them,
- 33:54Speaker 1: but you also don't want them to be spoiled little brats.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Yeah you don't appreciate anything. Yeah, and not even just that,
- 33:59Speaker 1: but like you know, a spoiled little brad turns into
- 34:01Speaker 1: a bitch ass dude when he grows up. And I
- 34:03Speaker 1: tell him all the time, i'd be like, you're not
- 34:04Speaker 1: gonna be a bitch ass dude when you grow up, Like,
- 34:06Speaker 1: I'm gonna let you know right now, you better know
- 34:08Speaker 1: how to you know, be polite, change a tire or
- 34:10Speaker 1: do some shit, like when you see somebody needs help,
- 34:12Speaker 1: help the person, you know, don't be a liar Like
- 34:15Speaker 1: I told him, I'm like, I don't whoop your I've
- 34:16Speaker 1: never whooped my kids ass. Then one time when he
- 34:19Speaker 1: was like he deserved your little spank on his butt,
- 34:22Speaker 1: but I've never in my life whooped my kids ass.
- 34:24Speaker 1: But I was like, if I catch you lying or
- 34:26Speaker 1: like just being like that type of like, yeah, you
- 34:28Speaker 1: know those people that lie and from the inside you
- 34:31Speaker 1: could tell they're a bad person. I'm like, bro, we're
- 34:33Speaker 1: gonna square up one day when you grow up if
- 34:35Speaker 1: I ever catch you, even if I don't like your
- 34:36Speaker 1: girlfriend or your wife in the in the future, you
- 34:38Speaker 1: better treat people right, you know. And he'd be just
- 34:41Speaker 1: laughing and shit. But I joke with him like that,
- 34:44Speaker 1: so I think he's not gonna be a bitch ass dude.
- 34:46Speaker 1: Would you and your wife ever? I try to have
- 34:48Speaker 1: another baby, Yeah, bring another kid in. Yeah I want
- 34:51Speaker 1: a kid, which is why I'm like, you gonna carry
- 34:53Speaker 1: it right, because yeah, you can do adoption or you
- 34:57Speaker 1: can like you like like get the insimination and all that. Yeah,
- 35:01Speaker 1: there's this there's this like advance level where it's like,
- 35:04Speaker 1: technically it wad be my egg and like so I
- 35:07Speaker 1: get pregnant, but then they put it into her so
- 35:09Speaker 1: then she has a baby, but it's mine. And I'm like,
- 35:11Speaker 1: that'd be literal that some pretty gangster technology, and I
- 35:14Speaker 1: gotta make some I gotta maybe sound much that sounds
- 35:17Speaker 1: very expensive. Yo, we gotta sell some CDs for that, yo.
- 35:22Speaker 1: Like I know, like now you could pick the sexier
- 35:24Speaker 1: baby and ship. Yeah, the ship is crazy. Yeah, it's
- 35:27Speaker 1: it's cool. I mean science man, That's what I'm saying. Like,
- 35:31Speaker 1: you get a bunch of human beings trying to do
- 35:33Speaker 1: the right thing. We might do some dope ship, but
- 35:34Speaker 1: where over you're fighting each other over some dumb ass shit.
- 35:37Speaker 1: We gotta get it together. I was just telling the homie,
- 35:40Speaker 1: you know, the biggest story I've seen on Instagram for
- 35:43Speaker 1: like last two weeks is the girl who used the
- 35:44Speaker 1: gorilla glue in her hair. Oh my god. And I
- 35:46Speaker 1: was just like, I'm so glad that this is the
- 35:49Speaker 1: biggest story because politics are boring again. Yeah, exactly, Like
- 35:56Speaker 1: like I'll be forgetting we got a new president and
- 35:59Speaker 1: I don't even know if the fox go like you
- 36:00Speaker 1: know what I mean, Like it's so refreshing to know that,
- 36:02Speaker 1: like I don't have to see some crazy Twitter shit
- 36:06Speaker 1: from Trump anymore, or like it's like the biggest shit
- 36:09Speaker 1: has been this girl fucking a Yeah, Like it's refreshing. Yeah,
- 36:14Speaker 1: I agree, I agree. It's even it's like you know
- 36:17Speaker 1: when you have like that when you're when your relationship
- 36:19Speaker 1: is kind of traumatic at the beginning and then it
- 36:21Speaker 1: just gets kind of calm and you're just sitting there
- 36:23Speaker 1: watching TV together and you're just like it sounds like
- 36:25Speaker 1: a personal story home. Just like I'm just like sitting
- 36:28Speaker 1: there like, damn, it's pretty calm now, like we're not
- 36:30Speaker 1: going through all that fucking bullshit. It feels good. Might
- 36:34Speaker 1: have to raise the toxic level or in get it interesting.
- 36:38Speaker 1: Help me. So for people who are watching this, like
- 36:40Speaker 1: what would be some advice you would give them on
- 36:42Speaker 1: how to build a following the way you do? Is it?
- 36:45Speaker 1: Because you know I always tell everybody like, yo, make
- 36:48Speaker 1: sure if someone hits you on the comments or DMG,
- 36:51Speaker 1: they like like engage with them, like you know, they're
- 36:53Speaker 1: like the little things that matter to people, you know
- 36:55Speaker 1: what I mean? Like, what would be some advice you
- 36:56Speaker 1: would give? My advice is look and again, be a
- 37:01Speaker 1: good fucking person. Like, if you're a good person, you're
- 37:04Speaker 1: gonna do everything that you're supposed to do to connect
- 37:07Speaker 1: with people because you're a good person. If you're just
- 37:10Speaker 1: responding thank you because you want them to fucking buy
- 37:13Speaker 1: your shit, like you're still not a good person. So
- 37:16Speaker 1: that's gonna end up being your own personal hell of
- 37:18Speaker 1: having to fucking keep up with all this shit to
- 37:19Speaker 1: try to seem like you're a nice person. If you
- 37:21Speaker 1: genuinely care, you're gonna fucking it's gonna be easy to
- 37:25Speaker 1: It's easy for me to get a collage or a
- 37:28Speaker 1: montage made of me and me be like, oh my god,
- 37:30Speaker 1: thank you so much, or respond to it, or give
- 37:32Speaker 1: somebody a call if they're in the hospital. It's easy
- 37:34Speaker 1: for me because I genuinely yeah. But it's like there
- 37:37Speaker 1: is people who like do it to fake the funk
- 37:39Speaker 1: and like to try to seem and it's like, you're
- 37:42Speaker 1: gonna get tired of that. It's not sustainable if you're
- 37:44Speaker 1: not a good person. So I suggest go to counseling,
- 37:47Speaker 1: be a good person, get over your own personal traumas.
- 37:49Speaker 1: Figure out why you want to be famous. Do you
- 37:51Speaker 1: want to do it because you want to be famous,
- 37:53Speaker 1: or because you have something to say, something to represent,
- 37:55Speaker 1: a story to tell you genuinely love music, like all
- 37:58Speaker 1: these things. You got to figure out why you want this,
- 38:00Speaker 1: and if you want this for the right reasons, you're
- 38:02Speaker 1: gonna be happy at every level of it. Because the
- 38:05Speaker 1: moment you make a dollar off this shit, You're like, damn,
- 38:07Speaker 1: you know, I can't believe I'm making money doing what
- 38:09Speaker 1: I love, you know, Whereas if you're just like I
- 38:12Speaker 1: want to be famous. Have you ever had a fan
- 38:16Speaker 1: go too far? Like a because you have some crazy
- 38:18Speaker 1: fans give me So you've had some actual stockers. Yeah,
- 38:23Speaker 1: I had, I guess like the worst case of that.
- 38:26Speaker 1: It was pretty scary. I had camera like because I
- 38:28Speaker 1: had cameras outside, I have a gate I had to
- 38:30Speaker 1: get installed in my house because I had already had
- 38:32Speaker 1: a fan show up. Then I had a fan show up,
- 38:35Speaker 1: and it's like I gotta wear notes and then three
- 38:38Speaker 1: in the morning, you know, and the fan was just
- 38:39Speaker 1: saying that like we have a baby together, and like
- 38:42Speaker 1: just on some like you know, methy type shit, but
- 38:44Speaker 1: he put his full name, so when I googled him,
- 38:47Speaker 1: I found meth charges. So I was just like all right,
- 38:50Speaker 1: Like I'm not dealing with someone who's like coherent, So
- 38:52Speaker 1: I was a little bit scared. I did have to
- 38:54Speaker 1: be like, you know, what do I do? Yeah? There
- 38:58Speaker 1: was like yeah, and like weird ida and then they
- 39:00Speaker 1: came back and then they hit me up like on Facebook,
- 39:03Speaker 1: and we're like I'm gonna like I'll be back, like
- 39:06Speaker 1: you know, I'm still near your house, and that I
- 39:09Speaker 1: always wonder that like being like you know, obviously a
- 39:12Speaker 1: female who goes on since then, but being like like
- 39:16Speaker 1: someone who goes on tours as as a woman, like
- 39:18Speaker 1: there's always this stigma as when you're a dude and
- 39:21Speaker 1: you're on tour, there's like groupies. Like as a female
- 39:25Speaker 1: who's been on so many tours, is there is there
- 39:27Speaker 1: like that same type of energy from the other side
- 39:30Speaker 1: of like like like like dudes, who who will be there?
- 39:32Speaker 1: Like and obviously you know you have you're married now,
- 39:37Speaker 1: But I just mean in general, like throughout your career,
- 39:39Speaker 1: has there been like just like like male groupies, there's
- 39:43Speaker 1: there's that, but then there's girls who I feel like
- 39:45Speaker 1: it and I think every lesbian can agree with me
- 39:47Speaker 1: about the fact that girls sometimes almost take it a
- 39:50Speaker 1: little further than they should because because they think they
- 39:52Speaker 1: got the past. Yeah, So I think sometimes like there
- 39:55Speaker 1: has been things where it's like you got to remind
- 39:56Speaker 1: girls like hey, like you know or even like the
- 39:58Speaker 1: whole I get that a lot, like girls being like oh,
- 40:00Speaker 1: if you and your girl want you know, you know,
- 40:02Speaker 1: and it's like no things, I'm good normal people like yeah.
- 40:09Speaker 1: But but also because I don't carry myself that way.
- 40:11Speaker 1: But you know, when when I was single, like and
- 40:13Speaker 1: I was even having fun out there in the world,
- 40:16Speaker 1: like I don't necessarily go after fans. Maybe it's a
- 40:20Speaker 1: personal choice of me. I think it's too easy, Like
- 40:22Speaker 1: I don't really you know, it's kind of like predatory
- 40:24Speaker 1: a little bit, So I don't I'm not a fan
- 40:26Speaker 1: of that. But but definitely I've seen I've seen my
- 40:30Speaker 1: fair share of like weird shit, but I CrowdSurf a
- 40:33Speaker 1: lot and stuff, and like, I've also never really been violated.
- 40:35Speaker 1: The only time that I did was a girl and
- 40:37Speaker 1: she got punched in the head. So there was I
- 40:41Speaker 1: think it was an Arizona actually might have been Arizona
- 40:43Speaker 1: or New Mexico. It was somewhere around there. But people's lit,
- 40:46Speaker 1: who's been the wildest person that you've toured with? Because
- 40:49Speaker 1: you've toured with some wild dude like Rich Yeah, Ritch
- 40:52Speaker 1: is a maniac. Yeah, I think that. I mean I
- 40:55Speaker 1: haven't really toured with many people like as far as
- 40:57Speaker 1: like co headlining and stuff like that, or like I
- 40:59Speaker 1: haven't open and because with that one. It was me
- 41:01Speaker 1: and Ritz and Jared Ben. That was the only time
- 41:04Speaker 1: that and we were all three kind of like level
- 41:05Speaker 1: as far very kind of like yeah, and that was
- 41:09Speaker 1: the last time that I actually toured like like that,
- 41:12Speaker 1: you know what I mean. So I would say Ritz
- 41:14Speaker 1: to this day, yea a maniac. He's sober, God bless him,
- 41:19Speaker 1: you know what I now. So he needed to get
- 41:24Speaker 1: sober because he's fucking off the chain, wolin. And that's
- 41:26Speaker 1: the thing a lot of people, you know, like think,
- 41:29Speaker 1: you know that the rock star thing is just like
- 41:32Speaker 1: a look and then you know you don't have to
- 41:34Speaker 1: deal with the repercussions, Like now we have to deal
- 41:36Speaker 1: with that. I had. I had to show that I
- 41:38Speaker 1: had to. That's when I realized, like it was right
- 41:41Speaker 1: before like I was gonna like publicly come out like
- 41:43Speaker 1: as an artist and everything, and I was just going
- 41:45Speaker 1: through all these things and I fucking got fucked up.
- 41:48Speaker 1: And that made me realize like, okay, bitch, like come out,
- 41:51Speaker 1: be happy, do whatever the fuck you gotta do to
- 41:53Speaker 1: never be in this position again, you know. And that's
- 41:55Speaker 1: also when I was leaving Atlantic, So it was kind
- 41:57Speaker 1: of like four things were stacked up together, and I
- 41:59Speaker 1: was like, holy shit, you know, so I just got
- 42:02Speaker 1: fucked up. And that made me be like, do whatever
- 42:05Speaker 1: makes you feel happy, because the misery you're feeling in
- 42:08Speaker 1: your fucking head is like fuck, you know, that's them
- 42:11Speaker 1: life changing decisions. Though you've been you play me some stuff,
- 42:16Speaker 1: you got some dope music on the way. What is
- 42:18Speaker 1: like you could really do whatever you want at this point.
- 42:21Speaker 1: You have your podcast that's going on, that's that you
- 42:23Speaker 1: do on YouTube live. It's like a stream. You do
- 42:26Speaker 1: it do you do it twice a week? I do
- 42:29Speaker 1: it twice a week Tuesdays and Thursdays. And then I,
- 42:33Speaker 1: you know, I vlog and I drop like songs like
- 42:35Speaker 1: once a month or whatever. Maybe I think I'm gonna
- 42:38Speaker 1: start dropping songs a little more often than that. But
- 42:40Speaker 1: it's like doing an album. Even interest like interests you anymore?
- 42:42Speaker 1: Is it just like you're more just doing the single
- 42:44Speaker 1: thing it does. The only reason that interests me is
- 42:47Speaker 1: because when you search me on like DSPs, you really
- 42:50Speaker 1: can't find anything. You know, It's like you can find
- 42:52Speaker 1: like some old shit, and I would like there to
- 42:54Speaker 1: be some sort of body of work. Yeah, because I
- 42:56Speaker 1: feel like the albums pop up first, yeah, so so
- 42:59Speaker 1: for that, But as far as like just going the
- 43:01Speaker 1: traditional route, it doesn't seem that interesting because it's like
- 43:05Speaker 1: what's gotten me to where I am is going non traditional,
- 43:08Speaker 1: So why would I like conform to that? You know?
- 43:11Speaker 1: But I don't know. I gotta genuinely admit that I
- 43:16Speaker 1: am torn, Like do I want to do that? Do
- 43:18Speaker 1: I not? Maybe if I partnered it off with like
- 43:20Speaker 1: the right people or brand to like just do that
- 43:23Speaker 1: and still be able to do my thing, because I'll
- 43:26Speaker 1: tell you, like, I don't ever plan on stopping the
- 43:29Speaker 1: way I do things right now, Like I like this
- 43:32Speaker 1: it's working. Yeah, it's crazy too, because I feel like
- 43:35Speaker 1: you get like becoming independent when you do. It's like
- 43:37Speaker 1: perfect timing because like not only I feel like we're
- 43:40Speaker 1: in the greatest era of female MC's ever. As far
- 43:44Speaker 1: as just like you know, back in the day, it
- 43:46Speaker 1: would be like there was only room for like one
- 43:48Speaker 1: or two like dope female rappers and it was hard.
- 43:52Speaker 1: Like now there's like I can't even name but I
- 43:54Speaker 1: wouldn't say ever only because if you go back to
- 43:58Speaker 1: the Miss fox a brownd But but but but even then,
- 44:02Speaker 1: like we could name five or six. Yeah, now it's
- 44:05Speaker 1: like a mail had a couple of records in there
- 44:07Speaker 1: with Z. But yeah, it was crazy. No, Yeah, I
- 44:12Speaker 1: agree with you. It's like now it's like it's like
- 44:14Speaker 1: almost like I've just never seen like even as a kid,
- 44:17Speaker 1: like you said, like, yeah, the Brad was crazy, functified
- 44:19Speaker 1: and Little Kim was was that bitch and Lauren Hill
- 44:22Speaker 1: and the Foujis. But now it's just like there's just
- 44:25Speaker 1: so much energy and I feel like we've never at
- 44:28Speaker 1: least I've never witnessed as far as just like the
- 44:33Speaker 1: totality of like the industry respecting female artists, because it
- 44:37Speaker 1: used to be like, yeah, you're dope, but you're like
- 44:39Speaker 1: dope for a girl. Who are you telling I was
- 44:41Speaker 1: in that you had to take all those punches. I
- 44:44Speaker 1: had to take those punches, bro, Like when I was
- 44:47Speaker 1: when I was starting to rap, I literally got told
- 44:49Speaker 1: by one of my peers like, let's be honest, you know,
- 44:51Speaker 1: are you really because we were all selling CDs like
- 44:53Speaker 1: I would sell CDs on the street, you feel me,
- 44:55Speaker 1: like fucking hard sales. And we all finished and see
- 45:00Speaker 1: these out on the street or whatever, and then we
- 45:02Speaker 1: went and sat down and were eating and he's like,
- 45:04Speaker 1: you know, telling me about why you know he'll be
- 45:07Speaker 1: the one to pop off out of all of us,
- 45:09Speaker 1: because let's be honest, no females are really ever gonna
- 45:12Speaker 1: pop off like that. And I just sat there and
- 45:14Speaker 1: I and now you know that my career has gone
- 45:17Speaker 1: for But I did have to remind him of, like, bro, honestly,
- 45:22Speaker 1: that affected me, like that fucked with my head for
- 45:25Speaker 1: years because I was just like, like do I give
- 45:28Speaker 1: up on this ship? Like there is only one spot,
- 45:30Speaker 1: Like you know, why would a Mexican girl be the
- 45:32Speaker 1: one to fucking do this? You know, like it doesn't
- 45:35Speaker 1: matter that you're dope, Like people will probably not care,
- 45:38Speaker 1: you know. And I'm glad I kept going. But I'm
- 45:43Speaker 1: so happy for where music is right now. You know.
- 45:45Speaker 1: I'm happy that independent artists can drop music however the
- 45:48Speaker 1: fuck they want. That there is more respect for fast
- 45:51Speaker 1: rappers because even that as well. For a long time,
- 45:54Speaker 1: if you rap fast, and you'll never have a hit record,
- 45:57Speaker 1: you know. And now it's like you hear Jack Carlow,
- 46:00Speaker 1: you hear anybody who's rapping a little bit faster, and
- 46:02Speaker 1: you're like, okay, bet like there is that or now
- 46:04Speaker 1: there's female rappers, and now there's more Mexicans and Latino
- 46:07Speaker 1: is one of the biggest fucking genres. Like all these
- 46:10Speaker 1: things are a culmination or like LGBT community is now
- 46:14Speaker 1: so much more accepted and like people are literally looking
- 46:17Speaker 1: for LGBT representation. So to me, it's like, it's crazy
- 46:21Speaker 1: that all these things that for years held me back
- 46:24Speaker 1: and that are so authentically me are now accepted. You
- 46:29Speaker 1: can only imagine how happy I am that this is
- 46:34Speaker 1: the case, because this is what I wanted, you know
- 46:36Speaker 1: what I mean. Other than that, I'm like, I'm good,
- 46:38Speaker 1: I'm not starving, I'm living pretty good. Yeah, Like it's
- 46:42Speaker 1: crazy because it lined up perfectly because you could do
- 46:45Speaker 1: what you want now you could like fully take advantage
- 46:47Speaker 1: of that now without worry, not even that as much
- 46:50Speaker 1: as like, for example, the Mexican thing, like I said,
- 46:53Speaker 1: I did it out of the necessity. If there's no
- 46:55Speaker 1: necessity anymore than bet like I'm good you I could
- 46:58Speaker 1: just do I literally have no pressure to do that
- 47:02Speaker 1: because before when I would be like Mexican, Mexican, Mexican,
- 47:06Speaker 1: and then the song that I wouldn't people be like,
- 47:08Speaker 1: why isn't she repping or why isn't she doing this?
- 47:10Speaker 1: And I'd be like, what the fuck? I literally did
- 47:11Speaker 1: that shit this whole time. So now I'm kind of
- 47:13Speaker 1: like cool, I could ease up on all these fucking
- 47:16Speaker 1: things that I'm so angry that I want to represent
- 47:19Speaker 1: and be like, I just want to be happy. I
- 47:21Speaker 1: just want to live. I want to make an R
- 47:23Speaker 1: and B song if I fucking want, and whether I
- 47:24Speaker 1: can sing it or not, bitch, I'm gonna have a
- 47:26Speaker 1: blast doing it, you know. And that's it. I feel
- 47:29Speaker 1: good about it. That's dope. Well do you have anything?
- 47:33Speaker 1: You just dropped? The record shut up? Yeah? And videos
- 47:36Speaker 1: out right? The videos out yeah, shut up? And I
- 47:39Speaker 1: got a bunch of different records. I showed you some
- 47:41Speaker 1: of the shit. I definitely. I'm just having fun being
- 47:44Speaker 1: able to do whatever I want, dropping merch, dropping mad merch,
- 47:48Speaker 1: vlogging with my girlfriend and my family, making music videos,
- 47:53Speaker 1: editing like I like, I'm doing what I love and
- 47:57Speaker 1: having a fun. Okay, so is your girlfriend your girlfriend
- 47:58Speaker 1: or your wife? Because you got a big ass on
- 48:00Speaker 1: your face, this is an engagement r Okay. Okay, I'm
- 48:02Speaker 1: not just saying to ask because I think that's that thing.
- 48:03Speaker 1: Don't look like an engagement ring. She's not fiance, but
- 48:06Speaker 1: I guess yeah, this is that's a fucking major rock
- 48:08Speaker 1: right there. That's yeah man. She I mean she makes
- 48:11Speaker 1: a check off tour, so everybody does around me, so
- 48:13Speaker 1: when they they what they want to do with it.
- 48:15Speaker 1: If she decided to give me a ring, Hey, man,
- 48:17Speaker 1: have you are you like getting antsied like not touring
- 48:19Speaker 1: because I feel like you're always kind of doing shows
- 48:21Speaker 1: right so, like there hasn't been any touring for the
- 48:24Speaker 1: past year. I'm not gonna lie. Like if you asked
- 48:26Speaker 1: me three years ago, like yo, if there was ever
- 48:28Speaker 1: a time when you couldn't tour at all, what would
- 48:29Speaker 1: you do? I'd literally tell you I was going to
- 48:31Speaker 1: start to death, Like I'd literally think, what's my life
- 48:34Speaker 1: going to be without that? I think I needed this
- 48:37Speaker 1: to realize I'm not like you good like you could
- 48:39Speaker 1: take a fuck a break like chili fuck also kind
- 48:41Speaker 1: of like makes you kind of figure out some other
- 48:43Speaker 1: shit to do. Yeah, well, I had announced end of
- 48:46Speaker 1: twenty nineteen that twenty twenty I wasn't gonna tour, like
- 48:49Speaker 1: I literally had. My last post of twenty nineteen or
- 48:52Speaker 1: one of my last posts was me saying, you know,
- 48:54Speaker 1: I've consistently toured for all these years. I do think
- 48:56Speaker 1: I need a you know, like a break, take a
- 48:58Speaker 1: little break and relax for a second. Because it was
- 49:01Speaker 1: always my mind was always on, Okay, I'm home for
- 49:03Speaker 1: five months, I'm going back on the road. I got
- 49:05Speaker 1: these many months to do all this shit and then
- 49:06Speaker 1: bam on back on the road. So I was always
- 49:09Speaker 1: like that I wanted to buy a ranch. That was
- 49:11Speaker 1: always my dream. I wanted to fucking fix it up
- 49:13Speaker 1: and do all these things. So this was a it
- 49:16Speaker 1: was a godsend to me personally. I mean, obviously it's
- 49:19Speaker 1: not it's not a good situation for the world, but
- 49:21Speaker 1: I just felt like, at least I've been able to
- 49:24Speaker 1: be home, I've been able to work on the ranch,
- 49:25Speaker 1: and I'm I'll be ready when well. You kind of
- 49:28Speaker 1: noticed the artists that like are like, there's artists that
- 49:33Speaker 1: need to be able to hit the road or do
- 49:35Speaker 1: the club shows and and don't really have anything else
- 49:40Speaker 1: because their fans maybe not be like, you know, like
- 49:44Speaker 1: the fact that you like Pivoted and did Yo. I'm
- 49:46Speaker 1: gonna do a podcast where you can subscribe on YouTube,
- 49:49Speaker 1: and I'm just gonna drop music and like, not everybody
- 49:52Speaker 1: can do that. Not everyone's built like that. I guess
- 49:55Speaker 1: not everybody you ever can. You've interviewed people with oh yeah,
- 50:00Speaker 1: you're here. You know, there's motherfuckers that gotta have people
- 50:03Speaker 1: telling them what to say, what to do, don't do this,
- 50:05Speaker 1: don't look like that. Why because there's people that literally
- 50:07Speaker 1: are getting coach because deep down inside, bruh, you are.
- 50:11Speaker 1: You got the personality of a fucking yeah, like you've
- 50:16Speaker 1: had so many of those, you know what I mean.
- 50:17Speaker 1: So it's like there is like like I was saying,
- 50:20Speaker 1: like lately, whenever I get because I get asked a
- 50:22Speaker 1: lot by independent artists like you know, give me advice,
- 50:24Speaker 1: and I'm like, bro, real ship, it starts from your core,
- 50:27Speaker 1: like be a good person, actually love this shit, Like
- 50:32Speaker 1: do what makes you feel happy, Like do what you enjoy,
- 50:35Speaker 1: because then you'll build you'll build a fan base around
- 50:38Speaker 1: the things you enjoy. If you like playing video games
- 50:40Speaker 1: and do that, because then you'll have a blast doing it.
- 50:42Speaker 1: You know, if you like animals, fucking blog about animals,
- 50:45Speaker 1: like whatever you want to do that weird ass like
- 50:48Speaker 1: trying that old industry plant style of doing shit is
- 50:51Speaker 1: just like we're just doing unorganic ship that you don't
- 50:54Speaker 1: want to like, you know, and it's like clear loud. Yeah.
- 50:57Speaker 1: So you say you have a ranch, does that mean
- 50:58Speaker 1: you have animals? Uh No, right now I just have
- 51:01Speaker 1: three dogs. I do have a ten horse stable, but
- 51:03Speaker 1: right now we're kind of converting that because I'm using
- 51:06Speaker 1: it as storage for for a while. We could have horses.
- 51:08Speaker 1: It's it's definitely equestrian a state or whatever the fuck.
- 51:12Speaker 1: So if you wanted horses, you could run it up. Yeah, definitely,
- 51:14Speaker 1: just like right now, we just got a TV for what, Like,
- 51:17Speaker 1: why the you're you gonna do? They require a lot
- 51:20Speaker 1: of attention, yeah, you know, and I'd be seeing them, honestly.
- 51:23Speaker 1: Some of my neighbors have them, and I'm like, what
- 51:24Speaker 1: the fuck did you buy a fucking horse for him
- 51:25Speaker 1: to be all sad and depressed right there? Like I'm like,
- 51:27Speaker 1: as a matter of fact, you should get rid of
- 51:29Speaker 1: that horse because it's depressing me. Like I'm gonna build
- 51:31Speaker 1: a fucking fence like Trump or something and be like, Yo,
- 51:34Speaker 1: I'm tired of seeing your depressed skinny ass horse. Shout
- 51:38Speaker 1: out to the depressed skinny ass horses. No skinny horses
- 51:40Speaker 1: in La County. Boom, Well, look, I appreciate you pulling up.
- 51:45Speaker 1: Thank you, man. We had an interesting day. There'll be
- 51:49Speaker 1: an Elk Boys prank coming out in a few weeks.
- 51:51Speaker 1: I'm sure that people will see h H. By the way,
- 51:55Speaker 1: so thank you for pulling up. Go stream her music,
- 51:58Speaker 1: Go check out her YouTube. What's the name of the podcast?
- 52:01Speaker 1: Every day? Well every night nights? Okay, so every night nights,
- 52:04Speaker 1: go do that and uh and then you might be
- 52:05Speaker 1: on Twitch soon, you were saying with your kid, maybe
- 52:07Speaker 1: playing some video games. Yeah, well, we don't know what
- 52:10Speaker 1: the fuck we're doing. I know I'll pop up on
- 52:11Speaker 1: your studio and we gotta work on some music. We
- 52:13Speaker 1: gotta we gotta figure out some some unorthodox ways of
- 52:16Speaker 1: getting this industry riled up. Because that's that's my that's
- 52:19Speaker 1: my next plan is just good job fucking ship up.
- 52:22Speaker 1: Boom
