- 0:47Speaker 1: Welcome to today's edition of Reflection on the Word with
- 0:50Speaker 1: Richard K. I'm Chuck Christie, and today we are asking
- 0:54Speaker 1: you to spend a few moments of your time with
- 0:56Speaker 1: us each day as Richard shares from God's work with notes, quotes,
- 0:59Speaker 1: and stores, along with some of his own personal experiences,
- 1:02Speaker 1: to confirm for you God's great love for us, that
- 1:05Speaker 1: his compassion for us never fails, and that He has
- 1:08Speaker 1: a great faithfulness toward us in every regard. In Lamentations
- 1:12Speaker 1: Chapter three, verses twenty two and twenty three, we read,
- 1:16Speaker 1: because of the Lord's great love, we are not consumed,
- 1:20Speaker 1: for his compassions never failed. They are new every morning.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Great is your faithfulness. Now, if you miss a portion
- 1:27Speaker 1: of today's broadcast or would like to recommend it to
- 1:29Speaker 1: a friend, you can hear this program anytime online at
- 1:33Speaker 1: Talknetwork Radio dot com. Well, now here's Richard with today's reflection.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Therefore, Brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you
- 1:44Speaker 2: to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and
- 1:49Speaker 2: pleasing to God. This is your spiritual worship. Do not
- 1:55Speaker 2: be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the
- 1:59Speaker 2: renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what
- 2:04Speaker 2: is the good, pleasing and perfect will of God Romans
- 2:09Speaker 2: twelve Versus one and two. Today's reflection is entitled consistency
- 2:17Speaker 2: in the Christian Life? Are we viewed by others as
- 2:22Speaker 2: consistent in our Christian life? Many people watch our manner
- 2:27Speaker 2: of living and draw conclusions that may not be pleasing
- 2:31Speaker 2: to our Lord. We are the only Bible that many
- 2:35Speaker 2: people read. Think about your neighbors. How often do we
- 2:40Speaker 2: visit them or invite them to share a meal together?
- 2:45Speaker 2: When if we offer to help them without thought of
- 2:48Speaker 2: what it might cost in time or resources. I think
- 2:52Speaker 2: about the time before I came to know the Lord
- 2:55Speaker 2: and accepted his grace and forgiveness. I was consistent in
- 3:00Speaker 2: my selfish ways and sin. The acquaintances I had could
- 3:04Speaker 2: testify to my being a selfish, proud, even arrogant sinner.
- 3:10Speaker 2: But to them, at least most of them, we were
- 3:15Speaker 2: very much the same. They too, were consistent in their
- 3:19Speaker 2: lives without God. Then something wonderful happened. When the Lord
- 3:27Speaker 2: saved me, he began to change me. The first things
- 3:31Speaker 2: to change were my thoughts. I didn't want to dwell
- 3:35Speaker 2: on things that were ungodly. Then he began to change
- 3:39Speaker 2: my attitudes and motives. Then he continued to change my desires.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Was this change noticed by my family, friends, and acquaintances.
- 3:52Speaker 2: I hope so I do know that they watched this
- 3:55Speaker 2: transformation take place and continue to watch. The question I
- 4:01Speaker 2: often ask myself is do others see the consistency of
- 4:06Speaker 2: the Lord's transforming power in my life? If they do,
- 4:12Speaker 2: it is to his glory. But if they don't, then
- 4:16Speaker 2: my life is not the example of one who follows Christ.
- 4:21Speaker 2: One of the measurements of consistency is simply practicing what
- 4:26Speaker 2: we preach. We can't dress up on a Sunday and
- 4:29Speaker 2: go to church service and try to use the world's
- 4:33Speaker 2: ways to govern our lives the rest of the week.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Honesty before God and man develops a consistent godly character.
- 4:44Speaker 2: If we joke about someone who, because of his race, color, creed,
- 4:49Speaker 2: or nationality, is less fortunate than ourselves, does God receive glory?
- 4:56Speaker 2: Our speech will define the one we spend the most
- 4:59Speaker 2: time with. Is my manner of speech belittling to someone
- 5:05Speaker 2: else or uplifting? Our desires should be to serve the
- 5:10Speaker 2: Living God and love our neighbor in consistent words and
- 5:15Speaker 2: actions that will bring glory to him. Richard will be
- 5:20Speaker 2: right back in a moment to wrap up.
- 5:22Speaker 1: But if you've just joined us, you've been listening to
- 5:24Speaker 1: Reflections on the Word with Richard K. You can hear
- 5:27Speaker 1: this message in its entirety again online as well as

- 5:35Speaker 1: like to acknowledge our theme song, how Great Is Thy
- 5:37Speaker 1: Faithfulness from the America's twenty five Favorite Hymns album unless otherwise.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Express scriptures are read from the Homan Christian Standard Bible,
- 5:47Speaker 1: which is published by Homan Bible Publishers in Nashville, Tennessee.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Additional resources used for Reflections on the Word with Richard
- 5:55Speaker 1: K include Great Is Thy Faithfulness? By Our Daily Bread
- 5:59Speaker 1: and printed by Discovery House Publishers. Again, here is Richard
- 6:03Speaker 1: to wrap up today's message.
- 6:07Speaker 2: We are not our own. Jesus purchased us with his
- 6:11Speaker 2: precious blood. The life we now live. We should live
- 6:15Speaker 2: by the faith of the Son of God who gave
- 6:19Speaker 2: himself for us. The phrase what would Jesus do? Can
- 6:26Speaker 2: become for each of us a living testimony of how
- 6:31Speaker 2: others see Jesus in our thoughts, words, and deeds, and
- 6:37Speaker 2: that will help those that don't yet know Him to
- 6:41Speaker 2: seek his consistent transforming power for their lives too. Therefore, Brothers,
- 6:50Speaker 2: by the mercies of God, I urge you to present
- 6:54Speaker 2: your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God.
- 7:01Speaker 2: This is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to
- 7:06Speaker 2: this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,
- 7:11Speaker 2: so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing
- 7:16Speaker 2: and perfect will of God Romans twelve one and two.
- 7:23Speaker 2: And that is today's Reflection on the Word.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Thank you, Richard. Join us again tomorrow when we continue
- 7:32Speaker 1: with the next edition of Reflections on the Work with
- 7:35Speaker 1: Richard K. For Richard the entire team, this is Chuck
