Speaker 4: I'm glad to be a part of the team.
• 2:21
Speaker 2: You are one of us. For what I mean it is.
• 2:23
Speaker 4: You've known for a while. We've been working on this
• 2:28
Speaker 4: weeks and weeks and weeks. Yeah, yeah, it's almost two months.
• 2:31
Speaker 2: Almost two months, but we got you here. So Brian Hughes,
• 2:35
Speaker 2: you know you've seen him on television for years and
• 2:38
Speaker 2: he is now part of us. And what better timing,
• 2:42
Speaker 2: as David Letterman would say, Brian, as timely as today's
• 2:45
Speaker 2: headlines with this major winner event coming in. We're gonna
• 2:48
Speaker 2: talk about that a little bit later on, but we're
• 2:49
Speaker 2: not gonna spend the whole show talking about that, as
• 2:51
Speaker 2: I said, We're going to talk about Carnivalg'm talking about
• 2:53
Speaker 2: the Hunting Fish and show, and we're gonna try to
• 2:55
Speaker 2: get a cat adopted this week with our adopt Me
• 2:57
Speaker 2: please put it the week here? Can we want to
• 2:59
Speaker 2: get to the weather, yea. And we'll get a little
• 3:01
Speaker 2: background on you as well for people who I mean,
• 3:03
Speaker 2: you've been here? How long were you in the television?
• 3:06
Speaker 2: So I was on air fourteen years to the day,
• 3:09
Speaker 2: worked at WWWK fourteen years of the day.
• 3:12
Speaker 4: But I've been been on radio for thirty for thirty
• 3:18
Speaker 4: two years. Yeah, all right, so now you're starting radio
• 3:21
Speaker 4: thirty two years again?
• 3:22
Speaker 2: All right? And now and now you're here, by the way,
• 3:24
Speaker 2: nice shirt. Brian comes in rocket A Metro Ryan. Did
• 3:28
Speaker 2: you see this? TJ? Did you see this guy's shirt?
• 3:32
  Speaker 2: I guess Metro News shirt he's got. I don't have
• 3:34
Speaker 2: one of those. I've been here for six years. I mean,
• 3:37
Speaker 2: what what the heck? Man?
• 3:38
Speaker 4: Well, I mean it, you know, I know how to
• 3:41
Speaker 4: work the system little bit already he started. He started.
• 3:46
Speaker 2: Let's bring in Angie gilden Water from the Canal Charlestony
• 3:48
Speaker 2: Main Association with this week's adopt me please better the week. Angie,
• 3:51
Speaker 2: Good morning, welcome to the show.
• 3:53
Speaker 5: Good morning, and congrat you guys for getting somebody new
• 3:56
Speaker 5: to hang out and talk with you.
• 3:58
Speaker 4: I'm excited to be here and I love this little
• 4:00
Speaker 4: kiddy cat. By the way, Brian, do you know Angie?
• 4:03
Speaker 4: Do you guys know each other? We, I mean, we've
• 4:05
Speaker 4: run into each other a number of times. Okay, And
• 4:09
Speaker 4: here's and here's the deal. My dog adopted, yeah problem.
• 4:14
Speaker 2: Arguably next to baby Dog, the most famous dog in
• 4:16
Speaker 2: West Virginia. That is correct, that's great and that and
• 4:20
Speaker 2: Boson is a was a shelter dog. Yeah, absolute as
• 4:23
Speaker 2: she is. And so she is.
• 4:25
Speaker 4: Now let's see here she went to there for five
• 4:27
Speaker 4: six and she almost eight eight years old.
• 4:29
Speaker 2: Now, okay, and our good friend Logan Scott from a
• 4:31
Speaker 2: sister station V one hundred just called Jupiter a couple
• 4:35
Speaker 2: of weeks from the Kenal troletew Manassusian beautiful dog Angie.
• 4:38
Speaker 5: Yeah, absolutely, I'm saying, follow in their footsteps, adopt, adopted off.
• 4:42
Speaker 2: Well, I don't have to do that because my cats
• 4:44
Speaker 2: just find us. They just show up at our house
• 4:46
Speaker 2: and go Like the last they just show go, hey,
• 4:48
Speaker 2: I'm here, what are we eating? That's uh, pretty much
• 4:51
Speaker 2: like Steve Animal does at my house to be here.
• 4:54
Speaker 2: They just don't ask for beer. That's about the only reason.
• 4:57
Speaker 2: That's about the only difference. All right, So let's go
• 5:00
Speaker 2: to our dopmy please sput of the week and as
• 5:01
Speaker 2: always we have the picture posted over on Dave Allen
• 5:04
Speaker 2: Radio on Facebook, also the WCHS Network Facebook page as
• 5:07
Speaker 2: well at Dave A seventy on X. It is a
• 5:10
Speaker 2: cat this week, a cat known as Harvey. Tell us
• 5:14
  Speaker 2: Harvey's story.
• 5:16
Speaker 5: Ngh, So I figured we do a cat this week.
• 5:19
Speaker 5: We have it in a very long time. So Harvey
• 5:22
Speaker 5: actually came to case Eha as astray. He's about three
• 5:25
Speaker 5: years old. We newted him, we got him vaccinated, and
• 5:28
Speaker 5: now he is living life at the pet Co pit
• 5:30
  Speaker 5: houses in Southbridge.
• 5:33
Speaker 4: I love that name, by the way. Yeah, the pet
• 5:35
  Speaker 4: Go penthouses.
• 5:36
Speaker 5: Yes, indeed that's what they are, all right, but he yeah, go.
• 5:41
Speaker 2: Ahead, No, it's just going to ask you, do we
• 5:43
Speaker 2: know what Harvey's story? I mean, Harvey com in is astray?
• 5:46
Speaker 6: Or do we know?
• 5:47
  Speaker 7: Yeah?
• 5:48
Speaker 5: Just astray? And somebody had found him wandering around their neighborhood,
• 5:51
Speaker 5: and you know, we were like, all right, bring him
• 5:53
Speaker 5: on in we can. We can fix that and fix him.
• 5:56
Speaker 2: You did, because he's already.
• 5:58
Speaker 4: New there, all right.
• 5:59
Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm more ways than one.
• 6:00
Speaker 2: More ways than one, and beautiful, beautiful cat and again.
• 6:04
Speaker 2: His pictures posted over on my social media, so so
• 6:06
Speaker 2: go check it out. So I'm I mean, this is
• 6:10
Speaker 2: a you tell me, a very very sweet cat that
• 6:12
  Speaker 2: loves people too.
• 6:13
  Speaker 1: Write.
• 6:14
Speaker 5: Yes, I actually got to go see Harvey yesterday when
• 6:17
Speaker 5: I took more cats to the pet Copit House. I'm
• 6:20
Speaker 5: their uber there, but uh yeah, I got to see
• 6:24
Speaker 5: him and he was just sticking his little tiny paws
• 6:27
Speaker 5: through the holes in their kennels. I opened up his
• 6:30
Speaker 5: cane and he immediately just like climbed on top of me,
• 6:33
Speaker 5: was purring, wanting attention. So he's very sweet and very
• 6:36
Speaker 5: loving if you're looking for, you know, like a personal
• 6:38
  Speaker 5: space heater.
• 6:39
Speaker 2: And you know, people talk about cats all the time.
• 6:41
Speaker 2: And again if people say I'm a cat person, I
• 6:43
Speaker 2: like dogs too. It's just you know, cats are a
• 6:46
Speaker 2: lot simpler. Uh But people I think have a misconception
• 6:49
Speaker 2: about cats that there I had a buddy my one time,
• 6:50
Speaker 2: I said, God, why would you want a cat? They're
• 6:52
Speaker 2: so stand offish and so on and so forth. They're
• 6:54
Speaker 2: just like humans and like some dogs, I mean, they
• 6:58
Speaker 2: all have different personalities. Our two cats love people, even
• 7:01
Speaker 2: though they rarely ever see people because I don't like
• 7:03
Speaker 2: people coming to my house. But our cats absolutely when
• 7:07
Speaker 2: people come in, they love people. My one cat is
• 7:11
Speaker 2: like my cat. He follows me everywhere in the house.
• 7:13
Speaker 2: You know, he lays beside me on the couch. I mean,
• 7:16
Speaker 2: you know, not all cats are that the are that
• 7:20
Speaker 2: stereotype about cats? I guess, Angie exactly.
• 7:23
Speaker 5: I always tell people that don't like cats, you just
• 7:25
Speaker 5: haven't met the right cat yet, because when you meet
• 7:28
Speaker 5: the right cat, it will turn you into a cat person.
• 7:31
Speaker 4: You know what what's beautiful about this cat I mean
• 7:34
Speaker 4: is it's white along with this cream color that he's
• 7:37
Speaker 4: got up around the face and those dark eyes. I mean,
• 7:41
Speaker 4: just a gorgeous little gorgeous giddy.
• 7:44
Speaker 5: Yeah, he is the long hair too. I just I'm
• 7:48
Speaker 5: a big fan of like a really fluffy looking cat.
• 7:51
Speaker 4: Well, listen, if you like fluffy snow, you probably like
• 7:53
Speaker 4: a fluffy cat. And this is the one to adopt.
• 7:55
Speaker 4: And listen. The PETCOA Penthouses we absolutely love Pecko. Pet
• 7:59
Speaker 4: COO Love is the foundation they help. They donate back
• 8:04
Speaker 4: to the Connan Charleston Humane Association and many other groups
• 8:07
Speaker 4: all across the country. And I know, you know Chelsea,
• 8:10
Speaker 4: you know she is now the president she is now
• 8:14
Speaker 4: running pet COO of across the country, So we're very
• 8:17
Speaker 4: excited about that. A West Virginia native from up there
• 8:19
Speaker 4: in Clinton, and she's doing that. Their donations to the
• 8:22
Speaker 4: shelter have been immense over the years, yes they have.
• 8:27
Speaker 5: Every time that you adopt from pet co, you're helping
• 8:30
Speaker 5: not only the animal, but you're also helping pet COO
• 8:33
Speaker 5: give back to not only your local shelter, but you're
• 8:35
Speaker 5: helping them give back to the shelters across the nation.
• 8:38
Speaker 5: So please consider adopting if you're looking to adopt from
• 8:42
Speaker 5: one of our pet Co locations, because again, it helps
• 8:46
Speaker 5: in numbers and DROs.
• 8:48
Speaker 2: Indeed, I want to talk about the weather, not talking
• 8:51
Speaker 2: about the snow and ice, but I want to talk
• 8:52
Speaker 2: about the cold. Right now, the cold is getting ready
• 8:55
Speaker 2: to stick and even after we get through the snow event,
• 8:57
Speaker 2: and Brian's going to talk about it later on the show,
• 8:59
Speaker 2: but once we get through the snow event, the snow
• 9:01
Speaker 2: is going to stay on the ground until like I
• 9:04
Speaker 2: don't know, August or something like that, because it's not
• 9:07
Speaker 2: going anywhere for a long long time, and the temperatures
• 9:09
Speaker 2: are going to be some of the lowest we've had
• 9:10
Speaker 2: in a long time. We're not talking about windshields. We're
• 9:12
Speaker 2: talking about actual temperatures below zero or early next week.
• 9:16
Speaker 2: Bring your pets in when you can. And there are
• 9:18
Speaker 2: always those that say, you know, my animal loves it outside.
• 9:21
Speaker 2: I'm not going to get into that argument, and you
• 9:23
Speaker 2: know you do you, But what can people do for
• 9:26
Speaker 2: for some of the neighborhood strays that are out there?
• 9:30
Speaker 5: So for neighborhood strays, if you have a building or
• 9:33
Speaker 5: a garage or anything like that, can that you can
• 9:35
Speaker 5: store them in at least until you know the temperatures
• 9:38
Speaker 5: raised a little bit out of single digits, that is
• 9:41
Speaker 5: obviously the best way to help. But if you can't
• 9:43
Speaker 5: do that, putting down straw rather than blankets or anything
• 9:47
Speaker 5: you know that is soft material that is going to
• 9:50
Speaker 5: be your best in keeping strays warm. Blankets can freeze
• 9:55
Speaker 5: with the temperatures dropping. Straw does not. Straw actually insulate.
• 9:59
Speaker 5: So actually, if you have stray cats in your area,
• 10:01
Speaker 5: if you take an old storage toe, cut a hole
• 10:03
Speaker 5: in it, fill it with straw, that works as a
• 10:06
Speaker 5: makeshift shelter for the stray cats in your area, and
• 10:09
Speaker 5: possibly some dogs that are small enough to fit into
• 10:11
  Speaker 5: a toe.
• 10:11
Speaker 2: And that's something I learned in doing this segment with you,
• 10:14
Speaker 2: because I would have thought I wouldn't have thought about
• 10:16
Speaker 2: the blankets. They freeze and their heart as a rock
• 10:18
Speaker 2: when it gets down to a certain level.
• 10:21
Speaker 5: Yeah, that's actually something that I've learned at the shelter
• 10:24
Speaker 5: working there, is that I would automatically think, you know,
• 10:27
Speaker 5: insulating with like pleee line blankets and like just really
• 10:30
Speaker 5: big comforters, But actually that is the worst thing that
• 10:33
Speaker 5: you could probably do. Straw is the best inflator when
• 10:36
Speaker 5: it comes to that.
• 10:37
Speaker 2: And always make sure too that if you leave out
• 10:39
Speaker 2: water for them, that you keep because it's going to freeze,
• 10:41
Speaker 2: you know, make sure that that that that you're replenishing
• 10:44
Speaker 2: that water, because I mean, they're not very good with
• 10:46
Speaker 2: the ice chippers. Animals aren't, so it's always keep that
• 10:49
Speaker 2: in mind. I'm going to presume that you guys are
• 10:51
Speaker 2: Are you guys out and about anywhere this weekend?
• 10:54
Speaker 5: We are not a good call good call the beginning
• 10:57
Speaker 5: of the week, and we decided we're going to hunker
• 10:59
Speaker 5: down and focused on getting the animals care this weekend
• 11:02
Speaker 5: with the impending weather.
• 11:04
Speaker 2: I got you there, Hey, I got some good news Angie,
• 11:06
Speaker 2: because last week we got Ozzy adopted our pet of
• 11:09
Speaker 2: the week. Last week Ozzie got adopted, right absolutely.
• 11:13
Speaker 5: I did the segment on Friday, and I had probably
• 11:16
Speaker 5: four or five people that wanted to meet Ozzy, and
• 11:19
Speaker 5: he was adopted on Saturday, the following day from this show.
• 11:23
Speaker 5: So I want to send out a thank you to
• 11:25
Speaker 5: everybody that was listening and put in their applications for Ozzy.
• 11:29
Speaker 2: I was just kind of curious as to whether it
• 11:31
Speaker 2: was on this segment or if it doesn't really matter
• 11:33
Speaker 2: as long as we got him adopted, because I also
• 11:35
Speaker 2: I had don't normally do this, but I also shared
• 11:38
Speaker 2: Ozzy's picture and profile on the ninety eight to seven
• 11:41
Speaker 2: of the Mountain Facebook page, because I mean, it's a
• 11:43
Speaker 2: rock station and the Dozzie's name Ozzy, and so I
• 11:46
Speaker 2: didn't know whether that had anything to do with it
• 11:48
Speaker 2: or not, but I know we certainly got some We
• 11:50
Speaker 2: got private messages to the Mountain Facebook page about Ozzie as.
• 11:54
Speaker 5: Well, either or I know a couple of people that
• 11:57
Speaker 5: I had scheduled to meet in Grief Fourhead said they
• 11:59
Speaker 5: heard him on the so so it probably a little
• 12:03
  Speaker 5: bit of both.
• 12:04
Speaker 2: I was we don't really care as long as they
• 12:06
Speaker 2: get saying care. A couple of quick texts here for you. Texas.
• 12:08
Speaker 2: Just saw sweet little Harvey and two month old baby
• 12:11
Speaker 2: Cinnamon toast Crunch at pet Co yesterday. I'd take them
• 12:14
Speaker 2: all if I could Cinnamon toast crunch.
• 12:17
Speaker 5: Yeah, that's CT crunch for sure. She's a two month old, solid,
• 12:21
Speaker 5: great kitten that looks like your cats. Oh okay, and
• 12:24
Speaker 5: she so maybe you need to take her?
• 12:26
Speaker 2: No, no, no, And if my wife is listening, no,
• 12:30
Speaker 2: we have two gray cats.
• 12:32
  Speaker 6: Uh.
• 12:33
Speaker 2: And I love I love the gray cats, Russian blues,
• 12:36
Speaker 2: whatever they are. I mean, they just got the best personalities.
• 12:38
Speaker 2: But two's funny. We're good, We're good. Another text says
• 12:42
Speaker 2: text says you could use some broken down cardboard or
• 12:45
Speaker 2: tarp to help protect their pawpads from cold concrete and
• 12:48
  Speaker 2: frozen ground.
• 12:49
Speaker 5: Excellent idea. I didn't even think of that, So whoever
• 12:52
Speaker 5: sent that in thank you. Yes, you absolutely can, Paul's.
• 12:56
Speaker 5: You know, they get injured easily, and these types of
• 12:58
Speaker 5: weather or this type of weather, the broken down cardboard
• 13:03
Speaker 5: antarp is an excellent idea.
• 13:05
Speaker 4: And listen when we're talking about pause, you know, we
• 13:07
Speaker 4: talk about it anywhere from the black top in the
• 13:10
Speaker 4: summer to now you're looking at the cold that The
• 13:13
Speaker 4: other problem too is as they as they get wet
• 13:15
Speaker 4: in they're out there and it's gonna be so cold. Listen,
• 13:17
Speaker 4: they're gonna melt some snow. But also you've got to
• 13:20
Speaker 4: take care of the pause as soon as they come
• 13:21
Speaker 4: back in because you've got ice. I mean, it's so
• 13:25
Speaker 4: cold out there that it will freeze almost instantly to
• 13:27
Speaker 4: some of those paws or nails, things of that nature.
• 13:30
Speaker 4: So just you've got to overthink how bad it is
• 13:33
Speaker 4: and how cold it is, Like Tuesday morning, the load's
• 13:36
Speaker 4: gonna be zero and they're gonna.
• 13:38
Speaker 2: Not win chill. That's actual air temper actual air temperature.
• 13:42

• 19:23
Speaker 2: is a lot of that going on. All your vendors
• 19:24
Speaker 2: are still coming man.
• 19:25
Speaker 4: Not still coming. They're there.
• 19:27
Speaker 12: They came in yesterday they said, hey, we want to

Speaker 12: and in here we're ready.
• 19:38
Speaker 4: And when you think about this, if there's anybody who

Speaker 2: want to talk about, of course, Chris Lawrence. So your

Speaker 2: The members of the WVRC media truck. Brian's going to

Speaker 2: to be there. So if you can safely get out
• 20:24
Speaker 2: from where you are, come come join us.
• 20:27
  Speaker 4: Absolutely.
• 20:28
Speaker 12: Like I say, all the outfitters and the vendors are there.
• 20:32
Speaker 12: They're looking for you. And if you want to see
• 20:34
Speaker 12: Chris Lawrence, he'll be there and you two. And people
• 20:39
Speaker 12: have been asking about what happened to Brian Hughes, our
• 20:41
Speaker 12: favorite weather man. Now we know where he is the show.
• 20:44
Speaker 4: And to see Okay, yeah, let me ask you this. Yeah,
• 20:48
Speaker 4: when people can come to the show, you know, are
• 20:50
Speaker 4: there license things that they can upgrade? Are there things
• 20:55
Speaker 4: that get the kids licensed? Things that nature?
• 20:57
  Speaker 13: Really?
• 20:58
Speaker 12: The Department Natural Resources will be there. They have a
• 21:00
Speaker 12: big presence there. Their law enforcement division will be there.
• 21:03
Speaker 12: There'll be answering any question you have about licensing, who
• 21:06
Speaker 12: needs to get them, where they get them, which the
• 21:10
Speaker 12: youngsters will have to have the educational part of it
• 21:14
Speaker 12: that they'll have to pass past that test. They can
• 21:16
Speaker 12: tell you where to go to get it and so forth.
• 21:20
Speaker 12: The the other division of the Natural Resources will be there,
• 21:24
Speaker 12: we call it Wildlife. They will answer all your questions
• 21:27
Speaker 12: about why we sit certain bag limits and dates and
• 21:31
Speaker 12: so forth. And they always have a projects going on.
• 21:34
Speaker 12: They may be studying black bears or rattlesnakes or everyone
• 21:37
Speaker 12: speak an update you on all that.
• 21:39
Speaker 4: So there's a world of information there. Come on down
• 21:42
Speaker 4: and and and two. When when you when you go there,
• 21:44
  Speaker 4: I mean you think about how the d n R
• 21:46
Speaker 4: has has evolved, because now you used to you'd go
• 21:49
Speaker 4: you shoot it, dear you kill it in on deer season,
• 21:53
Speaker 4: in buck season, and the next thing you know, you'd
• 21:56
Speaker 4: have to take it in, get it tagged, and.
• 21:58
  Speaker 14: So not anymore.
• 21:59
Speaker 12: No, right now, if you have a sell phone in
• 22:02
Speaker 12: the wood, bam, bam, it's it's it's checked in, okay.
• 22:05
Speaker 12: Or if you wait to get home, do it on
• 22:07
Speaker 12: your your computer, okay, it's it really revolved. It's it's
• 22:11
Speaker 12: really easy to do now. And the Department that's resources
• 22:14
Speaker 12: came a long ways and making a user friendly as
• 22:17
Speaker 12: far as everything involved with the deer hunting, I think
• 22:20
Speaker 12: that is the most fascinating thing.
• 22:21
Speaker 4: How they how they how they have evolved, you know,
• 22:24
Speaker 4: you know, and and to you when you also look,
• 22:26
Speaker 4: you know West Virginia now you can put your license
• 22:29
Speaker 4: on your iPhone and your Android device. You know, it's
• 22:32
Speaker 4: cool how they how they made it to the next
• 22:35
Speaker 4: the next version of this world.
• 22:37
Speaker 12: Absolutely and again they're all there, come down and talk
• 22:40
  Speaker 12: to them.
• 22:41
Speaker 2: And tell the folks about that special attraction that you
• 22:45
Speaker 2: gotta like it, the special traction, but the one in particular, Yes, the.
• 22:49
Speaker 12: One in particular, we call it the general. It's the
• 22:52
Speaker 12: world class. It's the biggest white tail antlers, set of
• 22:56
Speaker 12: antlers that's ever been recorded. Okay if they were found
• 22:59
Speaker 12: in Nebraska nineteen fifty nine. It's on a world tour
• 23:03
Speaker 12: and we were blessed to get it here in Charleston,
• 23:06
Speaker 12: West Virginia this weekend. Normally, if with a if you
• 23:11
Speaker 12: kill a white tail deer with the scores one hundred
• 23:14
Speaker 12: and ten points, that goes in the record book with
• 23:16
Speaker 12: a rifle one hundred and thirty. This thing scored two
• 23:19
Speaker 12: hundred and eighteen. It's the world's largest, and we have
• 23:22
Speaker 12: it there. Come on down. That alone is worth seeing.
• 23:25
Speaker 12: It's almost as big as Chris Lawrence.
• 23:28
Speaker 2: We love Chris, we love Christmas. But that I mean,
• 23:31
Speaker 2: I mean every year, That's one of the things that
• 23:33
Speaker 2: I've learned in the time that I've been working with
• 23:34
Speaker 2: you guys, is every year you've got that one or
• 23:37
Speaker 2: two big attractions that you know, just that people are interested,
• 23:41
Speaker 2: even if they're not necessarily outdoors people. They're all they're
• 23:44
Speaker 2: all interested in and anomalies like that, or in the
• 23:48
  Speaker 2: things like that.
• 23:50
Speaker 4: But it's not just hunting and fishing. We have kayaks there.
• 23:55
Speaker 12: Anything to do with outdoors, if just hiking and so forth,
• 23:59
Speaker 12: there's something there for you. I'm gonna have a great
• 24:01
Speaker 12: fashion show on Friday afternoon at six o'clock. Any anything
• 24:06
Speaker 12: to do with the ladies clothes, the youngster's clothes that
• 24:09
  Speaker 12: they're there. It's it's a it's a lot of fun
• 24:11
Speaker 12: at fashion show. Is worth coming down alone to see.
• 24:13
Speaker 2: And uh, and the food. I'm all about the food.
• 24:15
Speaker 2: You know that, Glenn. I mean, there's always great food there.
• 24:18
Speaker 2: Tell the folks about the phone call that you had
• 24:21
Speaker 2: just before you went on the air.
• 24:22
Speaker 12: Yes, I just got a phone call from the guys
• 24:24
Speaker 12: up in the graft and Phillippy area and they're saying, Hey,
• 24:27
Speaker 12: is a guy gonna be there selling bee sticks? I said, yeah,
• 24:30
Speaker 12: he says, a guy going be selling jerky? I said,
• 24:33
Speaker 12: is a pickle man gonna be there? I said, the
• 24:35
Speaker 12: crazy cucumber guy is there. They said, we're coming down
• 24:39
Speaker 12: if we have to plow snow coming down seventy nine.
• 24:42
Speaker 4: Are you familiar with the pickle guy there, but I
• 24:44
Speaker 4: am not. I mean, listen, I love pickles, but I'm
• 24:47
  Speaker 4: not familiar.
• 24:48
Speaker 12: And tell them the story about the pickle guy. The
• 24:50
Speaker 12: pickle guy last year he came in. He says, I
• 24:52
Speaker 12: have one hundred and fifty five gallon buckets of pickles.
• 24:56
Speaker 12: I said, that's amazing. You' you might sell fifty of them.
• 24:59
Speaker 12: He ran out and on Saturday went back to Pennsylvania
• 25:02
  Speaker 12: got fifty more.
• 25:03
Speaker 4: Buckets for Sundays. You're kidding me.
• 25:05
Speaker 2: True story and these pickles. I mean, you know, that's
• 25:08
Speaker 2: what I told Glenn the other day, Brian. I mean
• 25:09
Speaker 2: with pickles, I'm thinking, okay, deal bread and butter sweet whatever.
• 25:14
Speaker 2: He's got like every kind of pickle from Jalapeno on down.
• 25:18
Speaker 4: Well, I'm just checking the bank account to make sure
• 25:20
Speaker 4: I can get all the pickles that I want. And yep,
• 25:23
Speaker 4: it looks like yep, I.
• 25:24
Speaker 1: Can go to it.
• 25:25
Speaker 2: It's his first thing on the job. He just went
• 25:26
Speaker 2: and asking for in advance.
• 25:28
Speaker 12: You know, okay, okay, two grand and they the ponied
• 25:31
  Speaker 12: it up.
• 25:31
Speaker 2: Yes, two grands worth.
• 25:33
Speaker 4: We do take credit cards. I'm ready, let's go.
• 25:37
Speaker 2: And with people in media, sometimes when they give you
• 25:39
Speaker 2: a credit card. It's actually their name on it too,
• 25:41
Speaker 2: you know, one we found somewhere all right, So Glenn,
• 25:45
Speaker 2: we do want to make sure that everybody's safe in
• 25:47
Speaker 2: getting out there. And Brian's gonna talk about the weather
• 25:49
Speaker 2: a little bit later on, but if you can safely
• 25:51
Speaker 2: get there, we want you to come out because you
• 25:53
Speaker 2: guys are going to be there. Jason Alding got canceled,
• 25:55
Speaker 2: but not the Hunting Fishing Show.
• 25:56
Speaker 4: That's correct. We're definitely to open to day at noon. Okay,
• 26:00
Speaker 4: what kind of a country fella is he if he's canceling,
• 26:02
Speaker 4: but yet we can still have the Hunting Fishing Show.
• 26:04
Speaker 2: Well, here's I was having to be honest with you.
• 26:07
Speaker 2: I was having a conversation with one of my coworkers
• 26:09
Speaker 2: about this today because I thought, and I said, on
• 26:11
Speaker 2: the oh, there's no way they'll cancel the Jason Aldean concert,
• 26:15
Speaker 2: and they did. And there's a couple of things at
• 26:16
Speaker 2: factory in number one we didn't I didn't look at
• 26:18
Speaker 2: the tour dates to see where they're coming from. And
• 26:21
Speaker 2: you have how many states that are under winter weather
• 26:23
  Speaker 2: advisories right now?
• 26:23
Speaker 4: What do we do? Twenty six of the things?
• 26:25
Speaker 2: Twenty six? So chances are again. I haven't looked at
• 26:28
Speaker 2: the schedule. There was a Charlotte in there, and there
• 26:30
Speaker 2: was in Atlanta or Pittsburgh or one of these. The
• 26:33
Speaker 2: city's expected and sadly enough editorial comment. We live in
• 26:37
Speaker 2: a society now that likes to sue people, right, and
• 26:39
Speaker 2: who knows if somebody on their way to a concert
• 26:43
Speaker 2: or would would just come out and say, all right,
• 26:45
Speaker 2: this is Jason Alden's fault, or this is the Colin
• 26:47
Speaker 2: Seeham's fault that I was driving from Boone County on
• 26:50
Speaker 2: my way there and wrecked, I'm gonna sue. I mean,
• 26:52
Speaker 2: you can laugh at that.
• 26:53
Speaker 4: But the society's reality. But anybody who's come to the
• 26:57
Speaker 4: Hunting Fishing Show is not that kind of person exactly.
• 27:00
  Speaker 4: We know.
• 27:01
Speaker 12: Ran I got a call yesterday and guys says, where
• 27:05
Speaker 12: are your vendors outfitters coming from?
• 27:08
  Speaker 4: How far away?
• 27:09
Speaker 12: I said, well, Maine, Nebraska, Wyoming, South Africa. He said why,
• 27:16
Speaker 12: I said, I have seven outfitters coming from South Africa.
• 27:20

Speaker 4: His called his wife?
• 31:18
Speaker 2: His wife had said guess who I'm with right now.
• 31:21
Speaker 4: And handed me the phone over and I said, hi, Udi,
• 31:23
Speaker 4: how are you this morning? She goes, Oh my gosh,
• 31:26
Speaker 4: I've missed you so much.
• 31:28
Speaker 2: Talking to Brian Hughes. See, I never get that anybody
• 31:31
Speaker 2: hands the phone to me, it's probably somebody with a
• 31:32
Speaker 2: subpoena on the other line or something like that.
• 31:34
Speaker 4: But I've had that too.
• 31:35
Speaker 2: Well, you know, you know, Bradley Harris, who has no subpoenas,

Speaker 2: is with us right now. Hey doing my friend.

Speaker 14: Well, I feel honored to be here on Brian Hughes

Speaker 4: on stuff, trying to get all this lined out, and
• 31:53
Speaker 4: I'm thrilled to be here.

Speaker 14: I mean happy. I'm happy to see you here. I

• 32:21
  Speaker 2: is today.
• 32:22
Speaker 14: Thank you for your service.
• 32:24
Speaker 2: Let's not start those kidding o kidding, all right, Bradley
• 32:27
Speaker 2: Harris is here. We're to talk about Carnival coming to
• 32:29
  Speaker 2: the play Center.
• 32:30
  Speaker 1: What's the day?
• 32:30
Speaker 14: Thank you for having me. It is Saturday, January thirty first,
• 32:33
Speaker 14: and we are really excited. This is our fifteenth anniversary.
• 32:37
Speaker 14: And I know you've heard a little bit from Sierra
• 32:39
Speaker 14: about this, but you know, it's a really special opportunity.
• 32:42
Speaker 14: This year. The theme is a reflection and it's created
• 32:46
Speaker 14: a lot of buzz What do I wear, what do
• 32:48
Speaker 14: I do? And it's really it's reflecting back to those
• 32:51
Speaker 14: who started Carnival. And for those who don't know, Carnival
• 32:54
Speaker 14: is the play Center, signature event, Clay Center obviously for
• 32:57
Speaker 14: the arts and Sciences of West Virginia as the premiere event, art,
• 33:01
Speaker 14: science center, children's museum for the state of West Virginia.
• 33:03
Speaker 14: And we're really proud of our Clay Center. And you'll
• 33:06
Speaker 14: hear me say that our Clay Center because the.
• 33:09
Speaker 2: Story good way to put it. Yeah, it's ours.
• 33:11
Speaker 14: And you know, I'm somebody who grew up at the
• 33:14
Speaker 14: Sunrise Museum and transition to the Clay Center, and I'm
• 33:16
Speaker 14: still part of that journey and I just love being
• 33:18
Speaker 14: involved there. It's a great group of people to work with,
• 33:21
Speaker 14: a great board, great staff, and we're really excited. So
• 33:24
Speaker 14: Carnival this year, we're reflecting back on all those who
• 33:27
Speaker 14: came before us, who paved the way, and we still
• 33:31
Speaker 14: have an opportunity. If you want to come, you can
• 33:33
Speaker 14: still come. We have tickets, just a few left.
• 33:36
Speaker 2: But I mean just a few. I mean I like, probably.
• 33:39
Speaker 14: Today's the day. So if you don't have them yet,
• 33:42
Speaker 14: I'm telling you I'm a last minute person. Twenty third hour,
• 33:44
Speaker 14: but this is the twenty third hour.
• 33:46
Speaker 2: So we started in a half maybe all right, And
• 33:48
Speaker 2: it's next Saturday night over at the Clay Center Saturday night.
• 33:51
Speaker 2: And this is and you're right about this, Bradley, this
• 33:53
Speaker 2: is one of those events that is like a premier.
• 33:55
Speaker 2: We have two or three four maybe in Charleston every
• 33:58
Speaker 2: year that you got to be. If you're anybody, you
• 34:01
Speaker 2: you got to be at this thing and you got
• 34:03
Speaker 2: to go all out to be there.
• 34:04
Speaker 14: Yes, so seven hundred and fifty people come together. Brian
• 34:08
Speaker 14: can tell you. I know he's a frequent flyer there
• 34:10
Speaker 14: as I am too. But you know, the costumes get
• 34:14
Speaker 14: a little outrageous. Uh. I have one night a year
• 34:18
Speaker 14: I say that people look at me and they're like,
• 34:20
Speaker 14: I don't think in your profession and your work, you
• 34:21
Speaker 14: should be dressing like that. I'm like, I got one
• 34:23
Speaker 14: night a year. Okay, it's Carnival, give it to me, right.
• 34:26
Speaker 4: Fun Listen, you don't know eyeliner until you've been to Carnival.
• 34:33
Speaker 4: There are colors that you go, is she actually wearing?
• 34:36
Speaker 4: Is he actually wearing that color of eyeliner? Yes, it's
• 34:39
Speaker 4: a fun time. Listen, I'll tell you it is a
• 34:42
Speaker 4: fun time. I've hosted the gig. I hosted a gig
• 34:45
Speaker 4: for about a decade and alson they kicked me out,
• 34:47
  Speaker 4: but that's a different story.
• 34:48
Speaker 2: But he's not bitter, Yeah, not bitter at all.
• 34:50
  Speaker 4: He's back.
• 34:51
  Speaker 14: He's not bitter.
• 34:52
Speaker 4: He's bad a decade anyways. But now, listen, I had
• 34:55
Speaker 4: a fun time every time, because the one thing about
• 34:59
Speaker 4: Carnival is there's always something different. There's never you have
• 35:04
Speaker 4: some of the same things that happen, and you know
• 35:05
Speaker 4: where the bar is always set up. The bars are
• 35:07
Speaker 4: always in the same spot. But there's always something different
• 35:09
Speaker 4: at Carnival that you go, huh, I didn't know they
• 35:12
  Speaker 4: could do that.
• 35:13
Speaker 14: There's an element of surprise. But I would be remiss
• 35:16
Speaker 14: if I didn't go back to it. And everybody always says,
• 35:18
Speaker 14: you know, what's it about. It's just a party, It's this,
• 35:20
Speaker 14: it's that, And I always get that question. I obviously
• 35:23
Speaker 14: worked very close and shared the event the past three years.
• 35:25
Speaker 14: I get to be honorary this year. So I just
• 35:27
Speaker 14: thank you Kathy Bush for just allowing me to show
• 35:30
Speaker 14: up this year with all of my previous co hosts
• 35:33
Speaker 14: throughout the years. But I think more importantly, you know
• 35:35
Speaker 14: two point one million dollars raised through the event that
• 35:38
Speaker 14: have gone back into steam education programs statewide. And I
• 35:42
Speaker 14: think one of my someone from Raleigh County who grew
• 35:45
Speaker 14: up traveling. My dad was teacher principal, and my mom
• 35:48
Speaker 14: and dad drove me over here. I was a frequent
• 35:50
Speaker 14: flyer at the Sunrise and went to the Clay Center.
• 35:53
Speaker 14: We now threw dollars raised through Carnival two point one
• 35:56
Speaker 14: million dollars. One of those initiatives is Clay to Go
• 35:59
Speaker 14: and that put mobile exhibit a Clay Center on the road,
• 36:03
Speaker 14: and the goal was all fifty five counties, and so
• 36:05
Speaker 14: that's very simple. If you're in a county across West
• 36:08
Speaker 14: Virginia outside of Kannall County, you'd like Clay to Go
• 36:10
Speaker 14: to come out. We can set up exhibits for a
• 36:13
Speaker 14: few weeks at a time, and that really just meets
• 36:15
Speaker 14: folks where they are. You know, we know the challenges
• 36:17
Speaker 14: of travel and financial needs that exist in the state,
• 36:21
Speaker 14: and so the opportunity to bring you know what if
• 36:24
Speaker 14: we spark one kid in you know, Work County, or
• 36:27
Speaker 14: we spark somebody out in the middle of this way
• 36:30
Speaker 14: who may never have access. And I really think it
• 36:33
Speaker 14: is a party, it is the go to it's the
• 36:34
Speaker 14: signature event of the town, whatever. But I think more
• 36:38
Speaker 14: importantly purchasing a ticket or sponsoring you are part of
• 36:43
Speaker 14: that impact being made and delivering the mission of the
• 36:46
Speaker 14: Clay Center really statewide, and that's so important and that's
• 36:49
Speaker 14: really kind of my why and behind that where those
• 36:53
Speaker 14: dollars go. And I think that's important to mention as well.
• 36:55
Speaker 2: And again, you know, we're kind of spoiled here in
• 36:58
Speaker 2: the Kanawh Valley because we have the Clays or we
• 37:00
Speaker 2: had the Coddle Seem conventions, and we have all these things.
• 37:02
Speaker 2: I'm from a rural county as well that was probably
• 37:05
Speaker 2: had a lot more than a lot of other Logan
• 37:07
Speaker 2: County had a whole lot more than what some other
• 37:09
  Speaker 2: counties did.
• 37:09
Speaker 14: You had Tops And as a child, I always wanted
• 37:11
Speaker 14: to go to Tops. Well, if you remember, I never
• 37:14
Speaker 14: made it to Tops.
• 37:15
Speaker 2: Let me tell you, if you know about Tops, you
• 37:16
Speaker 2: probably could go as a child because they were kind
• 37:18
  Speaker 2: of a.
• 37:19
Speaker 14: Dream of mine. I never I never fulfilled that dream
• 37:22
Speaker 14: of all my dreams.
• 37:23
Speaker 2: But but but I will say, there are some of
• 37:25
Speaker 2: the counties you mentioned that, and I'm not disparaging them
• 37:27
Speaker 2: in any way, but I'm just saying they don't always
• 37:29
Speaker 2: get a lot of the attention with this Clay on
• 37:31
Speaker 2: the go. You go to the work counties, whatever the
• 37:35
Speaker 2: county is, you actually take the stuff to them. It's
• 37:37
Speaker 2: not about them coming to Charleston as much as it
• 37:40
Speaker 2: is about you going to them. And Carnival helps to
• 37:42
Speaker 2: make that happen. And it just amazes me when I
• 37:46
Speaker 2: had Sierra on a couple of weeks ago talking about
• 37:49
Speaker 2: and believe me, I mean Sierra showed me some stuff
• 37:51
Speaker 2: that I had never seen before. As it pertains to
• 37:56
Speaker 2: the amount of money that they raised and stuff. I
• 37:58
Speaker 2: mean it, it is amazing.
• 38:01
Speaker 14: Well, and I think more importantly it's the you know,
• 38:04
Speaker 14: I said this earlier and I'm going to continue to
• 38:06
Speaker 14: say it because when I speak about Clay Center, I
• 38:08
Speaker 14: don't say the Clay Center, I say.
• 38:09
Speaker 2: Our class Clay Center.
• 38:10
  Speaker 13: I like that.
• 38:11
Speaker 14: The story of the Clay Center is beautiful, and you know,
• 38:15
Speaker 14: lyle Clay saw the vision. The Clay family and the
• 38:18
Speaker 14: Clay Foundation were very instrumental in the Sunrise and the
• 38:21
Speaker 14: Charleston Arts Museum back in it's heyday. I love the Sunrise.
• 38:26
Speaker 14: I just it's so nostalgic for me. And I appreciate
• 38:29
Speaker 14: my parents more than they know for bringing me out
• 38:31
Speaker 14: to do all the things that I got to do
• 38:34
Speaker 14: there and at the Clay Center when it opened. But
• 38:36
Speaker 14: he saw, he had this vision, and he you know,
• 38:38
Speaker 14: why can't we have something so nice like Carnegie and
• 38:42
Speaker 14: Pittsburgh and all these other, you know facilities. Two hundred
• 38:46
Speaker 14: and forty thousand square foot facility he saw a vision
• 38:48
Speaker 14: for in the heart of the capital city for West Virginia.
• 38:52
Speaker 14: And I say our Clay Center because it was funded
• 38:55
Speaker 14: by our community and a lot of those families who
• 38:58
Speaker 14: helped fund it, and the the patrons like me who
• 39:01
Speaker 14: give you know what I can and continue will continue
• 39:04
Speaker 14: to build that as I continue to grow, really have
• 39:07
Speaker 14: created that legacy and now it's our time to take
• 39:10
Speaker 14: you know, through programs like Carnival and Clay to go
• 39:14
Speaker 14: to really expand the mission and build for the next generation.
• 39:17
Speaker 14: And so that's why I just think it's so important
• 39:19
Speaker 14: that we continue to invest in facilities like our Clay
• 39:23
Speaker 14: Center and engage the community. And this is a great opportunity.
• 39:26
Speaker 14: I think it's a great feeder, you know, into donor
• 39:30
Speaker 14: stewardship if if you're interested in getting involved and giving back.
• 39:34
Speaker 14: Friends of Clay I'll give a quick plug for Friends
• 39:36
Speaker 14: of Clay is a membership society of mainly young professionals
• 39:40
Speaker 14: and folks who it really develops a pipeline for future
• 39:43
Speaker 14: donors for the Clay Center. You know, there you give
• 39:46
Speaker 14: what you can and there's you know, an opportunity for
• 39:48
Speaker 14: you to be really an advocate for the Clay Center
• 39:51
Speaker 14: and to promote the programming. I mean, Roger Nicholson had
• 39:54
Speaker 14: the vision for I Love the It used to be
• 39:57
Speaker 14: sound Checks, it's now the Emerging Artist Series.
• 40:00
Speaker 4: But what an opportunity.
• 40:01
Speaker 2: Ryan is our producer today. That's why if you want
• 40:03
  Speaker 2: to I didn't know.
• 40:05
Speaker 14: That through the glass there ahead, but his vision for that,
• 40:09
Speaker 14: I think just to bring in emerging artists really, and
• 40:12
Speaker 14: that's what we've rebranded it now, the Emerging Roger Nicholson
• 40:16
Speaker 14: Emerging Artist Series. But really such an intimate evening that
• 40:19
Speaker 14: you get to spend on the Clay Center stage. And
• 40:21
Speaker 14: I love being on that stage and looking back at
• 40:24
Speaker 14: those gorgeous seats. I just think it's such a beautiful

Speaker 2: here now, Brian, if you're on with me from time
• 44:49
Speaker 2: to time, you'll know I have regular textures in this
• 44:51
Speaker 2: guy from all over always identifies himself as Florida gay
• 44:54
Speaker 2: warm Wedge wins out like always, And all snow totals
• 44:57
Speaker 2: will be much lower than predicted. I already West Virginia.
• 45:00
Speaker 2: But this happens all the time, and I saw it
• 45:02
Speaker 2: in countless storms when I was up there, from Virginia
• 45:05
Speaker 2: to the PA border. And one nineteen up to I
• 45:08
Speaker 2: seventy nine to west will be snow accumulation. Bus see
• 45:10
Speaker 2: what Brian thinks about this.
• 45:12
Speaker 4: So the warm wedge, Yes, we always say the warm
• 45:15
Speaker 4: wedge wins. The trick about this is that forecast models
• 45:19
Speaker 4: are now trending back to a colder solution. A matter
• 45:23
Speaker 4: of fact, even the Nashal weathers servers. About eight o'clock
• 45:25
Speaker 4: this morning, I popped out new snow totals that bumped
• 45:27
Speaker 4: them back up. Okay, I listened the American model and
• 45:34
Speaker 4: the let's see, the American model in the Canadian model
• 45:38
Speaker 4: are trending back to the cold. And actually the American
• 45:41
Speaker 4: model never left once it resolved its issues, you know,
• 45:46
Speaker 4: day before yesterday, it aligned itself with the European and
• 45:50
Speaker 4: the Canadian and the German forecast model. This is German model.
• 45:57
Speaker 4: You have to do an accent every once in a while,
• 45:59
Speaker 4: but these forecast models typically you take the American you
• 46:04
Speaker 4: throw it out. You can't right now because it is
• 46:07
Speaker 4: not moving from its solution, which is all snow and yeah,
• 46:12
Speaker 4: maybe a little sleep and then ice, maybe in a
• 46:15
Speaker 4: freezing ring like McDow, Wyoming, Summers Counties, maybe down around
• 46:19
  Speaker 4: Pike Fulle.
• 46:20
Speaker 2: But for people that are saying, okay, the warm wadge
• 46:23
Speaker 2: is going to get out, we're going to get nothing.
• 46:25
Speaker 2: That is not true.
• 46:26
Speaker 4: It's not true at all.
• 46:26
Speaker 2: If a warm wedge completely overpowers us, we're still going
• 46:30
Speaker 2: to get a lot of snow.
• 46:32
  Speaker 5: Right.
• 46:32
Speaker 4: Matter of fact, let me explain this real quick for you.
• 46:36
Speaker 4: As far as the snow is concerned. On Saturday alone,
• 46:41
Speaker 4: from Saturday into Sunday morning, Huntington gets six to eight
• 46:45
Speaker 4: inches of snow, Charleston four to six, Logan four to six,
• 46:50
Speaker 4: Flatwood's six. Then the ice, if the ice and freezing
• 46:55
Speaker 4: ring comes in, well, then after that's done, guess what
• 46:59
Speaker 4: we get on the back side from Sunday into Monday,
• 47:03
Speaker 4: we still get another three to four inches. So whatever,
• 47:06
Speaker 4: even if even if you have the base that shrinks
• 47:10
Speaker 4: because of the rain or the freezing rain weighs it down,
• 47:13
Speaker 4: you still have more on the backside.
• 47:15
Speaker 2: Right. It is And that's the thing about it is
• 47:17
Speaker 2: is this is and it does remind the multi pronged
• 47:20
Speaker 2: store and it's uh, and it's gonna start for most folks.
• 47:23
Speaker 2: And again we're concentrated in the Knau Valley. Four o'clock tomorrow,
• 47:27
  Speaker 2: four or.
• 47:27
Speaker 4: Five, Yeah, about about four o'clock, we'll have some flurries
• 47:29
Speaker 4: as early as one, one, two, o'clock, but four o'clock
• 47:33
Speaker 4: that's when the snow starts. And by six seven o'clock
• 47:35
Speaker 4: you probably got an inch, maybe maybe two on the ground,
• 47:38
Speaker 4: but probably about an inch. And then as we go
• 47:40
Speaker 4: through Saturday night and then on into Sunday morning, that's
• 47:44
Speaker 4: when that's when the bulk of our snow will fall. Now,
• 47:47
Speaker 4: if the if it stays further south, if the solutions
• 47:52
Speaker 4: keep us out of the really, if they just keep
• 47:54
Speaker 4: us out of the rain, if they keep us out
• 47:56
Speaker 4: of the freezing rain, yeah, we're still gonna have some
• 47:59
Speaker 4: of it. You won't have melting, but you'll have compaction.
• 48:02
Speaker 4: But if we do get rain, it's still you know,
• 48:04
Speaker 4: you're still gonna have so much snow. And guess what.
• 48:06
Speaker 4: That creates a layer of ice, and then after that
• 48:10
Speaker 4: you've got the bitter cold. The numbers specifically for Charleston,
• 48:17
Speaker 4: and make sure you have all these numbers are in
• 48:20
Speaker 4: thirty three are high today, eight tonight, tomorrow's highest twenty three.
• 48:24
Speaker 4: Guess what that does? That sets up It makes sure
• 48:27
Speaker 4: that any the ground in the first half inch to inch,
• 48:31
Speaker 4: if it's warm, just to touch where it's a little softer,
• 48:33
Speaker 4: you walk across the dirt, right now, it's a little softer,
• 48:36
Speaker 4: but about an inch to two inches below it, it's frozen,
• 48:39
Speaker 4: but that freezes up that top layer. So guess what,
• 48:41
Speaker 4: it's fully supportive of all this snow that's gonna fall
• 48:44
Speaker 4: and it's gonna stick. There's no melting that's gonna happen.
• 48:49
Speaker 4: By the way, zero on Tuesday morning, the low.
• 48:51
Speaker 2: Text says, I heard the snow accumulation will be a
• 48:53
Speaker 2: total of six seven thankstra.
• 48:58
Speaker 4: Of course. I mean listen, and we're gonna have plows
• 49:00
Speaker 4: out and there's gonna be people with back hoes moving
• 49:04
  Speaker 4: the snow.
• 49:04
  Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's I think. I think if the
• 49:06
Speaker 2: texture could have done the thing with the kids, don't
• 49:09
Speaker 2: I don't get that a lot do adults get so
• 49:12
Speaker 2: upset when kids do stupid things because having kids always
• 49:14
  Speaker 2: done stupid things.
• 49:15
Speaker 4: Kids always do stupid things. But guess what the adults,
• 49:17
Speaker 4: adults go, that's funny but stupid, but I'm gonna do it.
• 49:20
Speaker 2: And then the kids are looking at you, going, oh,
• 49:22
Speaker 2: that's six months ago, right exactly. They don't do that.
• 49:24
Speaker 2: But Dave Island Show on five eighty line is brought
• 49:26
Speaker 2: to you parted by Morgan and Morgan America's largest injury
• 49:29
Speaker 2: law firm. All right, so Sunday's temperatures though, the temperatures
• 49:32
Speaker 2: yeah are actually am I did I hear you quicker?
• 49:35
Speaker 2: Are actually gonna be a little bit warmer than what
• 49:36
Speaker 2: they were on Saturday. Yes, is there a chance that
• 49:39
Speaker 2: if it does turn to rain that some of the
• 49:42
Speaker 2: snow gets swept away?
• 49:45
Speaker 4: I no, I mean yes, there will be melting. Yeah,
• 49:49
Speaker 4: and there could be. At maximum, there's about a six
• 49:52
Speaker 4: hour window of rain. But again, the ground is solidly
• 49:56
Speaker 4: frozen and all you're doing is compacting it. Yes, you're
• 49:59
Speaker 4: gonna have a little this wash off some streets. They're
• 50:01
Speaker 4: gonna be awesome. But immediately following that as an arctic
• 50:04
Speaker 4: blast of cold air that will solidly make everything ice,
• 50:07
Speaker 4: and you have snow on the backside of the system
• 50:09
Speaker 4: Sunday night in a Monday morning and then puts another
• 50:12
Speaker 4: layer down, and at that point you go, well, crap,
• 50:15
Speaker 4: there's not much we can do except it's a skating
• 50:18
Speaker 4: rink and no school Monday, probably not Tuesday.
• 50:20
Speaker 2: And people always look at you know, and I know
• 50:23
Speaker 2: you guys in the weather. I mean, it must drive
• 50:25
Speaker 2: you crazy because people are always saying, well, how much
• 50:27
Speaker 2: is so and so going to get how much. It's
• 50:29
Speaker 2: not about the amount of snow. I mean it doesn't
• 50:32
Speaker 2: matter because in this type of scenario you're talking about
• 50:36
Speaker 2: four inches may as well be twelve or thirteen. I
• 50:40
Speaker 2: mean as far as the driving a building.
• 50:42
Speaker 4: So the most accidents happened between one and two inches
• 50:46
Speaker 4: of snow, and then after that three plus. It doesn't matter.
• 50:51
Speaker 4: I mean it does, but it doesn't. But I can
• 50:54
Speaker 4: tell you this I saw yesterday. You saw I posted
• 50:57
Speaker 4: the picture. I was following the beat juice from the
• 51:01
Speaker 4: West Virginia Department of Highways. They were putting beat juice
• 51:04
Speaker 4: down as a preemptive strike against this storm.
• 51:08
Speaker 2: Now, what does beat juice really do you're a scientist.
• 51:11
Speaker 4: It actually so. It actually lowers the It actually makes
• 51:14
Speaker 4: sure that you know, it acts as a melting agent.
• 51:18
Speaker 4: And it's also not corrosive to your vehicles. It's going
• 51:22
Speaker 4: to stickle to more. Yeah, and your vehicle might be
• 51:24
Speaker 4: a little sticky if you get behind one of those
• 51:25
Speaker 4: struct matter fact, my truck sticky. But it is actually
• 51:29
Speaker 4: it allows the snow not to particularly stick on the road.
• 51:32
Speaker 2: Even with the temperatures.
• 51:33
Speaker 4: Even with the temperatures, it's better than salt and brine.
• 51:36
Speaker 2: So who knew beat juice beat you?
• 51:38
Speaker 4: And actually they've been doing this for about fifteen years.
• 51:40
Speaker 4: It's just they did the experiences in West Virginia to
• 51:43
Speaker 4: make sure it all was working out. And they were
• 51:45
  Speaker 4: spraying yesterday.
• 51:46
Speaker 2: And if you're going to a grocery store today, used
• 51:48
Speaker 2: some common sense, right, be nice. My wife was over
• 51:51
Speaker 2: at Kroger Tay's Valley early this morning. I don't know
• 51:54
Speaker 2: whether I was supposed to say this or not, but
• 51:56
Speaker 2: I'll go ahead and say it. Someone there told her
• 51:58
Speaker 2: they did seven hundred and forty nine and thousand dollars
• 52:01
  Speaker 2: in business yestertests.
• 52:03
Speaker 4: My friends at Sam's Club. Million dollar day yesterday, all right,

• 52:14
Speaker 2: a talk line. Yeah, Wilson, what you all right? Wilson

Speaker 2: Meadows Meadows is here? What I take offense today? I'm sorry?
