- 0:00Welcome to World View Matters, discussing controversial issues, discerning current events,
- 0:10defending biblical Christianity, no topic, off limits.
- 0:16And now, here's your host, David Firazzo.
- 0:19Hey, guys, welcome to the show.
- 0:22We're going across the pond for this one today to Australia.
- 0:25We have got a brother, Dean Dwyer, and he served for over 20 years as pastor and president
- 0:31of Iser Street Baptist Church in Toowoomba, Australia.
- 0:37And you can go to the website if you want to check out Dean Iser Baptist Church dot com
- 0:42Iser spelled E-I-S-E-R street.
- 0:46Pastor Dean has been a co-founder of Sound the Alarms Ministries.
- 0:49We're going to talk a little bit about that.
- 0:51And that seeks to highlight how current events play into Bible prophecy.
- 0:55The minister was formed in response to the craziness of COVID.
- 0:59And everything that was perpetrated on Australian shores, we've saw that world wide pretty
- 1:03much as well.
- 1:05But now they've pivoted a little bit from being COVID focused to an overall ministry focused
- 1:10on speaking the truth to a deceived culture.
- 1:13Dean Dwyer, welcome to World View Matters, good to see you, brother.
- 1:18Get out of the land down under.
- 1:19How are you, David?
- 1:20I'm doing great.
- 1:21I know there's a time difference.
- 1:23Thank you for waking up early with us.
- 1:25I told you before we started, you can't tell.
- 1:28So you must have had a good night's sleep.
- 1:30So thank you, brother.
- 1:31Yes, it's very early here.
- 1:32But I said to my wife, if I was going to get up early for anything, it would be to talk
- 1:36about God, Bible prophecy, and to talk to David Fia Raza.
- 1:40Oh, my goodness.
- 1:41I'm, I'm, that's a pretty big list there that I'm hard on, so blessings, brother.
- 1:46So yeah, let's tell a little bit about how we connected.
- 1:49And I have been reading your articles for quite some time over at HarbingersDaily.com.
- 1:54And you've got a page over there at HarbingersDaily and you put out some great articles.
- 1:59We're going to get to some of those in another show with you because we're going to have
- 2:03Dean back next week.
- 2:05And we're going to talk to him again on a couple of his recent articles.
- 2:08But Dean, share a little bit how we connected and just give our audience a little idea of
- 2:15how we actually connected here.
- 2:18Yeah, absolutely.
- 2:18I mean, as I've said to you, David, you've been great for my ministry.
- 2:23You've been edifying and I've appreciated that very much.
- 2:26A couple of years ago when we all went through this crazy COVID period, there was a period
- 2:32there where the Aussie Church was really languishing.
- 2:35And we were copying a fair bit of heat from the public.
- 2:39So a lot of the public in Australia, we're looking to the church, looking for leadership
- 2:45because the Australian people were being tyrannised, they were just under the heavy
- 2:50hand of government during that time.
- 2:52So I was criticised on social media.
- 2:57And so I thought, okay, now's the time to really reach out to like-minded people.
- 3:03And I remember one day I was outgoing for a walk and I started to look further afield overseas
- 3:10in terms of trying to find other people, like-minded people who could minister to me,
- 3:17that could help me to surround me with other people who would be bold enough to stand up
- 3:23until the truth of what's happening.
- 3:26And so David, I came across your name, providentially, some would say by accident, but I say providentially.
- 3:33And that was a wonderful thing.
- 3:34Came across your name and I started listening to you and I thought, wow, this guy is fantastic.
- 3:40He's speaking truth, he's speaking biblical truth, he's not afraid to tackle issues head
- 3:44on.
- 3:45And I started listening to you, started reading about you.
- 3:49And my connection with Harbinger's Daily is actually as a result of you as well because
- 3:54you spoke about Harbinger's.
- 3:56And so I thought, wow, this is a great ministry.
- 3:59So I started to read a lot of the material on Harbinger's Daily as well.
- 4:04And you'd mentioned that you had just been made a trusted ministry at Harbinger's Daily.
- 4:08And I thought, wow, is that open for everybody?
- 4:11So I'd reached out to them and praise God, this is where the connection forms.
- 4:16So David, I must thank you in person for being such an integral part of that connection
- 4:21with Harbinger's Daily because they've been a great blessing for our church because
- 4:24we've met so many people in Australia that read Harbinger's Daily that we've been able
- 4:29to connect with in our local area.
- 4:31Oh, my goodness.
- 4:32I'm so thankful for them, Steve.
- 4:34Shout out to Steve and Brianna and the gang over there at Harbingers.
- 4:38They operate out of Canada.
- 4:40And so we kind of got three countries connecting here in the spirit, so to speak, Dean.
- 4:47I just want to share briefly, I was going through a time, I read around 2020 when the
- 4:54COVID craziness was going on.
- 4:57And I don't remember how did I find out about Liberty Pastors, LibertyPastors.com, Paul
- 5:03Blair, Dan Fisher, Steve Smotherman, Trevor Loudon, Alex Newman, so many other pastors
- 5:10and other speakers that were bold talking about globalism, talking about Bible prophecy,
- 5:15talking about culture, talking about politics, moral issues that we've been told were political,
- 5:22but there are moral issues, friends like, anyway, I don't want to go down that road.
- 5:26But I was feeling kind of like a lone ranger there, I think at the time I was an associate
- 5:30pastor at a church, and there weren't that many people in our area here that I could relate
- 5:35to.
- 5:36Like you said, you were sharing earlier, you were going, wow, I wish I could find some
- 5:40people, iron sharpens, iron, right?
- 5:43Absolutely.
- 5:44And we are like-minded, kindred spirits, and when I went to that conference, it was a catalyst
- 5:50in my life, and I wrote about it in one of the chapters in my book, my previous book,
- 5:55Hanson and Christianity.
- 5:56But Dean, I want to get to your story.
- 6:00We also wanted to ask you a little bit about sound the alarms.
- 6:04So you said you started during the COVID craziness, and now it's taken a little transformation.
- 6:08So tell us about soundthealarms.com.
- 6:12Yeah, so sound the alarms.
- 6:15Formed during COVID, a lot of your viewers would probably be familiar with how heavy-handed
- 6:20our government was.
- 6:22So the government really pushed the shot, they made it as mandatory as possible.
- 6:27And so the uptake rate, because they locked people out of cafes, they locked them out
- 6:32of theaters, restaurants, they made life so difficult for people and tried to force them
- 6:38into taking the experimental gene therapy.
- 6:41And so because the public was crying out for leadership in this area, we decided that
- 6:47we would get together, a group of us from our local church, and start sound the alarms.
- 6:53And the name sound the alarms actually comes from the book of Joel.
- 6:57And if you're familiar with Joel, chapter two, verse one, it refers to blow the trumpet
- 7:02in Zion sound the alarm.
- 7:05And so that's where the name was born, because it goes on to talk about warning that the
- 7:09day of the Lord is at hand.
- 7:12So the ministry, although in the early stages, was really focused on COVID and trying to combat
- 7:18a lot of the misinformation that was coming from the government, it is now pivoted because
- 7:23we see so many different areas where we need to sound the alarm, particularly as we see
- 7:27the approaching tribulation period, because we really are living in perilous times.
- 7:32And unfortunately, most people are really asleep to the fact that God's wrath is going
- 7:37to fall upon this earth.
- 7:38But there is a savior, His name is Jesus Christ.
- 7:42And judgment is coming.
- 7:45It is.
- 7:46I mean, in some form or fashion, some people believe God's judging in different ways.
- 7:51Our country, you know, here in the States, we've fallen away big time.
- 7:55There is a remnant of solid Bible believing pastors and teachers and Christians.
- 8:02But I'll tell you, we've got our work cut out for us because it is so dark nowadays because
- 8:07we've been silent too long.
- 8:09So Dean Dwyer, tell us a little bit about the Australian church.
- 8:14Give us a little feel for what being a Christian, there are Bible believing Christian is like
- 8:20in Australia and how you got to where you are.
- 8:23Yeah.
- 8:24So you're right in terms of what you say with God judging in this current age.
- 8:28And most people misunderstand God's judgment.
- 8:31God's judgment can involve just handing people over to their own devised mind.
- 8:35And so if you look at the concept of Romans one, we see in there in particular, we see God says He
- 8:43hands them over to a devised mind.
- 8:45And in the Greek, that is the word adochymos.
- 8:47And essentially, it means it's a disqualified mind.
- 8:50So it is no longer a mind fit for purpose.
- 8:53God made it in order to think great and glorious thoughts about Himself to seek Him and to learn ways of righteousness and holiness.
- 9:01And unfortunately, because mankind has sought after perversion, God has handed them over.
- 9:07And this is a disqualified mind.
- 9:09And unfortunately, these people are leading our governments.
- 9:12They're leading our school boards, they're leading our libraries.
- 9:16And so people with a disqualified mind are leading society.
- 9:20And unfortunately, church leaders are sitting back allowing this to happen.
- 9:24So the Australian church, I describe it probably in four ways.
- 9:29We have the dead, the dying, the divided and the dedicated.
- 9:33And so they pretty much speak for themselves.
- 9:36So the dead are obviously the spiritually dead.
- 9:38You know, they're the ones that are ritualistic in their worship.
- 9:43There's not too much life about them.
- 9:45We see a semblance of form about them, but there's no power, there's no hope, there's no future.
- 9:53And so they just go about their worship in an empty way without offering any hope for the Australian people.
- 9:59Then you have the dying and these are the ones that probably did have life about them,
- 10:04but are slowly dying because there's a lack of power in their Christian life.
- 10:08And in some ways, I like to refer to these people as spiritual mannequins,
- 10:12because you see, you know, mannequins in a store window, they look like they're human,
- 10:17but they can't speak.
- 10:19And so the Australian church in some respects is like that.
- 10:23And this applies globally as well.
- 10:25That's there are many spiritual mannequins that look like a church,
- 10:29but they don't have life in them.
- 10:32And most importantly, because a mannequin can't speak,
- 10:36the Australian church isn't speaking either.
- 10:38Unfortunately, it's not touching on a lot of the current events that we see throughout the world.
- 10:42It's not touching on things happening in Israel.
- 10:45It's not happening.
- 10:45It's not touching on things that are occurring in Bible prophecy,
- 10:49which speak of the fact that God's judgment is about to fall upon this earth.
- 10:55And you have the divided, unfortunately, Australia is a divided church as well.
- 11:02Same as America, go ahead, Dean.
- 11:05Absolutely.
- 11:06And, you know, I think you've got division along theological lines.
- 11:10You know, that's natural because you've got so many denominations.
- 11:13But we see a sense and we get a sense of the globalist elites
- 11:18will be reaching into Australia as well, trying to divide,
- 11:21particularly as we see Marxism continue to infiltrate our politics as well.
- 11:26We have a political system which is very left leaning at the moment.
- 11:29We have a political system quite different to America where you have
- 11:33predominantly a two-party system.
- 11:35We have a two-party system where there's two major parties and a number of minor parties.
- 11:40But aside from some conservative minor parties,
- 11:43unfortunately, Australia is very left leaning.
- 11:45And so the church has also headed in that direction as well.
- 11:50So there's a lot of division in there.
- 11:52But then as you touched on, we have the dedicated.
- 11:54And this is the remnant part of the church.
- 11:57They're the people like yourself, like your viewers,
- 12:00like the people who sit in our queues.
- 12:02They're really awake to what's going on.
- 12:04They're eager to know about what's going on.
- 12:06And they're looking.
- 12:08They're looking, learning, watching,
- 12:10and paying attention to what's happening throughout the world.
- 12:14We've got to take a break now, but we are speaking with Pastor Dean Dwyer.
- 12:18And before we do, when you were explaining these churches,
- 12:21the dead, the dying, the divided, and the dedicated,
- 12:23I thought about Revelation 2 and 3 and how Jesus rebuked
- 12:28five of the seven churches in Asia and Minor.
- 12:30And I want to just read from Revelation 3 verse 2, verse 1 and 2.
- 12:36It says, he who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars says this,
- 12:41I know your deeds that you have a name,
- 12:44or you have a reputation that you're alive, but you are dead.
- 12:50Jesus is speaking to a Christian church, wake up and strengthen the things that remain
- 12:58which were about to die for I have not found your deeds completed in the sight of my God.
- 13:03Remember what you have received and heard and keep it and repent.
- 13:09Again, friends, he's speaking to Christians, believers to the church,
- 13:13repent. If you will not wake up, I will come like a thief and you will not know at what hour
- 13:19I come to you and then it goes on.
- 13:20But friends, we'll be right back with Dean Dwyer on World View Matters.
- 13:39Pastor Dean Dwyer is with us and his home is Australia.
- 13:47He is in Toowoomba, Australia.
- 13:49And you can get all of his writings at harbingersdaily.com.
- 13:54If you go to the left hand column there, you'll see a lot of the ministries,
- 13:58a lot of the people that write for harbingers.
- 14:00And he's smack in the middle of some of the most to me,
- 14:06impressive names in the Christian Evangelical Christian community that are speaking the truth.
- 14:13And we're going to talk about Bible prophecy coming up.
- 14:15But Dean, I wanted to ask you, I'm sure you've written about this.
- 14:20I just really enjoyed those four things because I'm kind of simple and when you start things
- 14:25off in a bullet point list, it really makes sense as far as the church, the dead, the dying,
- 14:30the divided and the dedicated. Have you written in depth about that?
- 14:34I'm sure you have, but has it been a while or what?
- 14:37It comes from a sermon actually and I'm glad you touched on Revelation 3 because that's exactly
- 14:41where the inspiration came from. Jesus, as you said, was speaking to the church at Sardis.
- 14:47And I think that fundamentally the problem with many Christians today is that they don't look
- 14:52at the book of Revelation. Many see it as allegorical and so many don't know how to read it,
- 14:57understand it, apply it to their life. But the seven letters to the churches in Revelation are so
- 15:02important and they're very telling for where we're at. We know that we're at the layer to see in
- 15:08ear a church, unfortunately, and we see that throughout the world in the church. And we know
- 15:15that the description is, I wish you either hot or cold, but you look warm. And so we see that very
- 15:22much in the Australian church as well. Not all throughout the Australian church. We have some
- 15:25wonderful remnant pastors, preachers and Christians in Australia, but they are very few and far
- 15:31between unfortunately. You will shout out to Leo to see you there and sometimes I look at the
- 15:38American church. I'm going, wow, that's us. Lukewarm, silent and another fascinating verse there.
- 15:46Again, Jesus speaking to the churches, to Christians and in Revelation 320, what is Jesus,
- 15:54the Lord and Savior? They head of the church, Dean Dwyer. What is Jesus doing? He's standing
- 15:59outside the door of the church, knocking. That is such a sobering thought. And that was in
- 16:07the early church. In those days, there were still perhaps eyewitnesses to the resurrection
- 16:13of Jesus or at least eyewitnesses to some of the disciples and apostles. And it wasn't that long
- 16:19into the church history there. And there are still people that were Lukewarm and they needed to
- 16:26repent. And so there's nothing new under the sun just like that today. There are people that are
- 16:32Lukewarm in Australia, America that need to repent. And I'm not talking about people outside the
- 16:37church. What are your thoughts before we move on, Dean? Because I have always found that to be
- 16:41fascinating. People try to use that as an evangelical verse to get people saved. But that's to the church.
- 16:48Yeah, it absolutely is. And I've been sighted people and you touched on it earlier when you talk
- 16:53about strengthening what remains. And that was that passage you read before the break. And I often
- 16:58say to people, if you really want to strengthen your faith, there's an obscure book that I send people
- 17:03to. And that's the book of Nehemiah. And people often say, well, why should I read Nehemiah? Why should
- 17:08I read about rebuilding walls or to rebuild my faith? But as we know, Nehemiah is not just about
- 17:16walls. It's about rebuilding the people. It's about strengthening and rebuilding their faith.
- 17:22And I'll tell you four points that we can learn from these four key characteristics from that time.
- 17:27Number one, they had a mind to work. And you and I, David, know just how much work it takes
- 17:34in ministry. A lot of sacrifices, a lot of work. So you've got to have a mind to work. You've got to
- 17:40have a heart to pray. And that's an important one as well. I think prayer is really lost in
- 17:46modern Christianity, particularly in some churches. You know, there's more time devoted to
- 17:51announcements, unfortunately, than prayer. So we really need to get back into our prayer lives.
- 17:57Number three, they had developed an eye to watch. And we've been touching on a series, I've been
- 18:03doing a series for over a year now called What Does The Watchman Watch? And what we're
- 18:09sort to do in that series is just really highlight particular areas that we need to be focused on,
- 18:14that perhaps some people in the church have overlooked so that we can direct their focus in
- 18:20particular ways to make sure that we're across the full spectrum of Bible prophecy.
- 18:26And as you touched on, they also developed an ear to hear. And that is really, really important
- 18:33because as you said, in the letters to the seven churches in Revelation, what does it say?
- 18:39He that has an ear, let him hear what the spirits say to the churches. And as you said,
- 18:46Jesus Himself said, behold, I stand at the door and knock. And if anyone hears me,
- 18:53are we hearing the Lord Jesus at the moment? That's the question for the church.
- 18:57Wow. I like those. And man, you brought Nehemiah. So we can't move on. We've got to talk about Nehemiah a
- 19:04little bit more because one of my favorite chapters in Nehemiah is I meant, you know, the beginning,
- 19:10you know, he prays and he goes to the king, the king grants him favor, go rebuild or go check out
- 19:15Jerusalem. He goes and his massive undertaking of finding, getting the people and organizing that
- 19:22rebuilding of the city walls around the entire city. But in Nehemiah 4, when the people were
- 19:29intimidated, there were mockers. There were people trying to instill fear in the people to discourage
- 19:35them from doing the work of God. And how applicable is that to our lives? If that Satan has success in
- 19:43discouraging your eye from doing God's work, he's won the battle. He doesn't have to fight. He
- 19:49just mocks and tries to discourage us. But what did they do? It gets to the point where the people
- 19:54are ready to fight. They're working with one hand and they're holding a sword or a weapon with
- 19:59the other. That is one of the most fascinating parts of belief, I believe in Nehemiah 4, at least,
- 20:05where they're literally, they're ready for the warfare. What happened when they were working
- 20:11and ready to fight holding the sword? The enemies got discouraged. The enemies. They said,
- 20:16we're not going to attack now because the Jews were on alert. You mentioned Watchmen on the wall,
- 20:21sounding the alarm. They were ready. I just found that to be fascinating. Before we move on, Dean,
- 20:25just your thoughts on that. Yeah, absolutely. The other key characteristic of that time as well was
- 20:31that Nehemiah really put forward the importance of fighting for someone close to you. So he would
- 20:37put family groupings together. Because what that encouraged was that if you're looking to your mother,
- 20:43your brother, your sister, your husband, your wife, who's right next to you, you're going to fight
- 20:48for them if you see the enemy coming. And so unfortunately, too often, we have these lone
- 20:53ranger Christians who think they need to be out there fighting the battle for themselves. Now,
- 20:58sometimes that's by product. You mentioned that in the opening. That sometimes you feel like you're
- 21:02alone. But this is the importance of fellowship, particularly in these end days that we really need
- 21:07together around like-minded believers to look at the ones we love to fight for them. Because you know,
- 21:13Satan wants to divide, he wants to discourage, he wants to destroy. And so we really need to gather
- 21:19our family closely and remember who we're fighting for and remember who we're worshiping.
- 21:26And the fact that we have a victorious Christian life. But the fifth and probably the most important
- 21:31aspect in Nehemiah's day was that they had a godly man who stood up and pointed the way.
- 21:39And that is so important. It's so important in our churches. It's so important in our communities.
- 21:45We need please. We need godly men. Stand up. Don't be afraid. Don't be afraid of the enemy. Stand
- 21:51up boldly, courageously. Fight for truth. Fight for your family. Fight for righteousness.
- 21:56Leaders need to lead. Oh my goodness. A good word, Dean. So when we do another show with you,
- 22:05we're going to be talking about a couple of your articles over at Harbinger's Daily. And friends,
- 22:09I just encourage you to go to check out his material. We've got five minutes left. But go to Harbinger's
- 22:14Daily.com. Get caught up with some of Dean's articles. And also all what they're the latest from
- 22:18Israel and the Middle East and the war. But Dean, you mentioned in an email to me. I didn't
- 22:24remember this. Australia, you said, was instrumental in the rebirth of the modern state of Israel.
- 22:30Tell us a little bit about that. Yeah, absolutely. Australia is an interesting case in that whole
- 22:37drama. And in Australia, we often shorten the name Australia to Oz. And interestingly in Hebrew,
- 22:44the word Oz means strength or might. Now, Australia might not be strong and mighty nowadays because
- 22:52it's caved to some social justice movements, the Marxist ideologies. But you go back a hundred
- 22:58years ago or more. And we're about to celebrate another anniversary of this key battle. And that was
- 23:04the 31st of October, 1917. And this was a great battle at Besheba, which is in southern Israel. So
- 23:12this was, I believe, the last charge of a light horse brigade, which had overcome some entrenched
- 23:19Ottoman Turks there. And so on this particular day, there were 800 horsemen up against overwhelming
- 23:26odds. But by God's providence and grace, they had gout forward that overrun the positions,
- 23:34many machine gunners, many other infantry troops there. And that was instrumental then in
- 23:41turning the war. And we know that two days after that, two November, 1917, we have the beginnings of
- 23:48the Balfour Declaration. And I'll read a quote from Benjamin Netanyahu because on in 2017,
- 23:57when we had the 100 year anniversary of the battle at Besheba, Benjamin Netanyahu spoke at a
- 24:04commemorative ceremony there and he said this, nearly 4,000 years ago, Abraham came to Besheba,
- 24:10the city of Seven Wells. Exactly 100 years ago, brave Anzac soldiers liberated Besheba
- 24:18for the sons and daughters of Abraham and opened the gateway for the Jewish people to re-enter
- 24:23the stage of history. So that's a wonderful endorsement. Now, Aussie soldiers, I read a lot of
- 24:30military history. And now, Aussie soldiers in World Wars I and II were very much lauded for their
- 24:35bravery and courage. And as we read about, very instrumental then in freeing Besheba and
- 24:41turning the the war. There's so much history that either we don't know or we have forgotten.
- 24:48And you know what they say about those who are those who what is it those who don't remember
- 24:52history are doomed to repeat it or those who forget history. So it's sad and we're going to talk
- 24:57next time with you Dean about what's going on in Israel and Middle East today and maybe get caught
- 25:03up a little bit on that. We'll talk about your articles as well. But I just want to mention
- 25:08your website again for the church. If anybody's listening over there watching in Australia, it's
- 25:14isrstreetbaptistchurch.com EISERST that's isrstreetbaptistchurch.com and you can get Dean's info at
- 25:25Harbinger's Daily. Dean, as we close this out, there's a lot happening in the world. There's a lot
- 25:31of potentially for believers even discouraging or overwhelming events, world events. God's
- 25:39not surprised. He's still on his throne. We still have the gospel of hope to share with people.
- 25:45So just your encouragement to our viewers before we wrap it up with you. Yeah, absolutely. Adrian
- 25:51Rogers who remember Adrian was a great American preacher. One of my favorites. He used to say that
- 25:57we ought to be living as if Christ died yesterday, rose this morning and is coming again this afternoon.
- 26:02And so I think if every believer lived with that in view, we would have a much greater impact
- 26:08throughout the world. But I just want to encourage people and say we've always got to be looking up
- 26:13because I think as Tom Hughes recently said, if we have a vertical uplook, then that takes away
- 26:19the horizontal panic. If we look around, then we are going to get discouraged. And this is
- 26:23what Satan does. He wants to bring division. He wants to bring discouragement. He wants to bring
- 26:28destruction. So it makes us think that God doesn't have everything under control. But God does have
- 26:34everything under control. He's sovereign. We can rest in him. We can have faith in him. He's going
- 26:39to sort all of this out. And it's going to be a wonderful time when the Lord Jesus Christ comes back
- 26:43to rule and reign in the millennial kingdom. Praise God. I've encouraged that if we have a vertical
- 26:51uplook, we won't have the horizontal panic about what's going on. I love that. So I'm still looking
- 26:58forward to talking with you again next week. Dean, I really appreciate your time. It's great to
- 27:02connect. What a great connection from here to Australia. So God bless you brother. We'll talk soon.
- 27:08Amen. Thank you, David. All right. Well, guys, tomorrow we've got Pastor and Dr. Andy Woods on
- 27:14the show. And we're going to be talking about the Islamic invasion, the land over there in the
- 27:19Middle East, the lies about Israel and the Middle East melt down with Andy Woods. Thanks for
- 27:25watching for sharing. We appreciate your donations. Of course, we are thanking for your prayers.
- 27:30God bless you. And as always, keep speaking the truth about things that matter.
