- 0:00Speaker 1: This is seven tor Why the Mark Simoon Show starts. Now,
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hey it's Friday. That's a good news. Another peak wave day,
- 0:13Speaker 1: brutally hot today. If you don't like this weather, don't
- 0:17Speaker 1: even think of moving to Florida. This is what it
- 0:19Speaker 1: feels like about half the year, for about six months
- 0:23Speaker 1: a year. This is the weather in Florida. So we
- 0:26Speaker 1: got a lot to get to this, a lot going on.
- 0:28Speaker 1: We'll get to President Trump Iran, We'll get to the
- 0:31Speaker 1: new US Attorney, We'll get to President Trump's birthday. We'll
- 0:34Speaker 1: get to the police commissioner, We'll get to oil, We'll
- 0:38Speaker 1: get to the World Cup, the Knicks, and a whole
- 0:41Speaker 1: lot more. Ran. There is a deal. According to the
- 0:45Speaker 1: White House, there is a deal. They're very close to
- 0:48Speaker 1: signing it. The last night was supposed to be a
- 0:52Speaker 1: huge attack on Iran, just pounding the blank, President Trump
- 0:57Speaker 1: filling in that blank out of Iran, and at the
- 1:01Speaker 1: last minute, apparently they agreed to a deal that we
- 1:04Speaker 1: like and the strike was called off last night. Now
- 1:08Speaker 1: Iran is putting out a phony deal claiming this is
- 1:13Speaker 1: the deal. Apparently it's not. The President immediately putting out
- 1:18Speaker 1: a statement saying that's not the deal they've agreed to
- 1:20Speaker 1: and the version they put out they controlled the straits
- 1:23Speaker 1: of horm Moose no guarantee on nuclear Well, in the
- 1:26Speaker 1: real deal, this's as if they sign it, and if
- 1:28Speaker 1: they sign it, you know Iran they never stick to anything.
- 1:32Speaker 1: But in this deal that supposedly they've agreed to, they
- 1:36Speaker 1: will turn over all nuclear material. We will get to
- 1:39Speaker 1: destroy it all. They will agree to stop financing terrorism
- 1:43Speaker 1: all over the place, from Hesbaloo to the Hooties and
- 1:45Speaker 1: all that stuff. So we'll see what happens. We've heard
- 1:48Speaker 1: this before about being close, but we've never heard about
- 1:51Speaker 1: being disc close. So we'll see what happens. HiT's the president.
- 1:56Speaker 2: We have a signing sued and the documents. You are
- 2:01Speaker 2: in pretty final shape, so we'll see.
- 2:04Speaker 1: No, that's good, that's good.
- 2:06Speaker 2: They will not have a nuclear weapon. They've agreed to
- 2:08Speaker 2: that there will be no which is the whole reason,
- 2:11Speaker 2: which is a big part of the reason. They will
- 2:14Speaker 2: not only not have they will not purchase develop in
- 2:17Speaker 2: any way any shape, in any way, shape or form
- 2:20Speaker 2: a nuclear weapon. They will not have a nuclear weapon.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Well, that's the goal. Looks like we'll get there. So
- 2:26Speaker 1: have you actually secured an agreement on the discussions about
- 2:29Speaker 1: the nuclear material and the nuclear negotiation actually.
- 2:33Speaker 2: On that, and nobody's getting close to it because it's
- 2:36Speaker 2: buried under a mountain.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Basically, yeah, it is buried. It's what they call nuclear dust.
- 2:42Speaker 1: It's quite an engineering feat to go down there and
- 2:45Speaker 1: extract it. But we know how to do that, and
- 2:48Speaker 1: we've got teams that are very good at destroying nuclear material.
- 2:52Speaker 1: We did it before. We did it in Libya when
- 2:54Speaker 1: Kadafi gave up his stuff. So it's just finding it,
- 2:58Speaker 1: getting it, destroying it, no problem, easy to do. Hey,
- 3:01Speaker 1: President Trump needs a new Director of National Intelligence, although
- 3:06Speaker 1: he doesn't really need it. Actually, there's been talk about
- 3:08Speaker 1: just getting rid of that job. There's no need for it.
- 3:11Speaker 1: You have a nine different intelligence agencies reporting to this
- 3:14Speaker 1: one place. But some question whether we it's a job
- 3:19Speaker 1: that was created only in the last few years. A
- 3:24Speaker 1: lot of people think it's just eliminate the job. But
- 3:26Speaker 1: the problem is, as you know, as you've watched the
- 3:29Speaker 1: intelligence community, they're pretty dirty and sleezy. I'm talking about
- 3:32Speaker 1: the Brennans and the Clappers and those sorts. I remember the
- 3:36Speaker 1: ones that tried to rig the election. Those are the
- 3:38Speaker 1: ones that signed that fake letter saying that the Hunter
- 3:41Speaker 1: laptop isn't real, it's Russian disinformation. These are really dirty,
- 3:46Speaker 1: sleezy people in the intelligence world, so you got to
- 3:48Speaker 1: get rid of them. So what the President has done,
- 3:51Speaker 1: he's named as acting DNI Bill Poulty to go in
- 3:57Speaker 1: there and be the acting director. Now he does look
- 4:00Speaker 1: like he's qualified. He's very very sharp guy, he's very good.
- 4:04Speaker 1: He ran Fanny and Freddie and I mean he's smart guy,
- 4:07Speaker 1: knows how to run stuff, but no intelligence background, and
- 4:12Speaker 1: he's known as a killer, a absolute killer. But his
- 4:16Speaker 1: real job is to go in there and fire a
- 4:18Speaker 1: lot of people. There's a lot of deep state, a
- 4:20Speaker 1: dirty you know Biden Obama operatives in the intelligence community.
- 4:25Speaker 1: That's how you got that fake letter about the laptop.
- 4:28Speaker 1: So his job is to go in there and just
- 4:30Speaker 1: clean house fire these people, just get rid of them,
- 4:32Speaker 1: clean it up. Now, the president, this is brilliant, this
- 4:36Speaker 1: is this is you know chess moves on his part.
- 4:40Speaker 1: So he sent this guy in there to do all
- 4:42Speaker 1: the dirty stuff. And then when a new director comes in,
- 4:45Speaker 1: it'll be a much cleaner place, and the new director
- 4:48Speaker 1: won't be the guy that fired everybody. So that's a
- 4:51Speaker 1: smart move. None the other thing he's doing. Whoever he nominates,
- 4:54Speaker 1: no matter how qualified, no matter how great. You know,
- 4:57Speaker 1: these Democrats in the Senate are going to try to
- 4:59Speaker 1: blow They're going to go nuts trying to stop the guy,
- 5:03Speaker 1: no matter who it is. So by putting this awful
- 5:07Speaker 1: to them, he's not awful, but to them he's awful.
- 5:10Speaker 1: This awful to them, awful evil Pulty in there, they'll
- 5:14Speaker 1: be desperate to confirm the new nominee just to get
- 5:17Speaker 1: this Poulty out of there. So it's a brilliant move.
- 5:21Speaker 1: The President has nominated Jake Clayton to be the real
- 5:24Speaker 1: and permanent Director of National Intelligence. Clayton is a great guy,
- 5:29Speaker 1: terrific guy. He's been the US Attorney here in Manhattan
- 5:33Speaker 1: in the Southern District, and a really really good guy.
- 5:36Speaker 1: So you couldn't have a better choice.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Totally there for a little while, he's running it for
- 5:40Speaker 2: a short while. Well, we get a very talented person,
- 5:43Speaker 2: Jake Clayton, and as you know, Jay Clinton's an incredible talent.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Head of Celibrant Bromwell, he was out of the SEC
- 5:50Speaker 2: is now Southern District. I mean, nobody has better credentials,
- 5:55Speaker 2: but Bill will run it for short. Well, he's done
- 5:57Speaker 2: a fantastic job, but Fannie may for mac.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Yeah, so the only bad part is we lose. Said
- 6:03Speaker 1: Jake Clayton, as the US attorney here in the Southern District,
- 6:06Speaker 1: he's been great. And he's also said as the US
- 6:09Speaker 1: attorney that if Mamdannie lets crime get out of control,
- 6:13Speaker 1: his office will step in and start arresting people. So
- 6:16Speaker 1: hopefully the President appoints a new US attorney with the
- 6:19Speaker 1: same philosophy, so he'll come in. They got to get
- 6:22Speaker 1: him confirmed by the Senate, but now they'll be eager
- 6:24Speaker 1: to confirm him just to get rid of Pulty. Now,
- 6:28Speaker 1: listen to this is these crazy Democrats. Listen to Schumer.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Pulty's got to go before anything else should happen. It
- 6:34Speaker 1: can happen. But are you concerned that by drawing this line,
- 6:37Speaker 1: Democrats could be opening up the country to a national
- 6:39Speaker 1: security concern. We have great fashional theory concerns with Pulty.
- 6:45Speaker 1: It's great, just a o'royalities. There's a lying, thieving, rotten
- 6:48Speaker 1: Adam Schiff.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Well, I think what the President wants is he wants
- 6:51Speaker 3: Pulty in place beginning in the middle of June, and
- 6:55Speaker 3: then however long it takes to confirm. If Jake Clayton
- 6:59Speaker 3: is confirmed, Pulty would serve in that role. He would
- 7:02Speaker 3: be free to weaponize the date of the American people.
- 7:05Speaker 1: He would be.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Free to alter conclusions of intelligence reports to suit the
- 7:09Speaker 3: President's preferences. He would be free to engage in election interference.
- 7:17Speaker 1: They come up with all these scenarios, they work themselves
- 7:20Speaker 1: into a frenzy, and then they hear all this stuff
- 7:22Speaker 1: on Morning Joe and they get all whipped up about this.
- 7:26Speaker 1: But it's a brilliant move on the President's part. Now
- 7:30Speaker 1: they're sure not going to take their time on confirming
- 7:35Speaker 1: Jay Claytony're gonna want to get this Pulty out of there. Hey,
- 7:37Speaker 1: big weekend at the White House. The big UFC fight
- 7:41Speaker 1: is taking place on the White House lawn. They've built
- 7:43Speaker 1: this enormous, spectacular structure and it'll be on television Sunday night.
- 7:50Speaker 1: I think it's eight o'clock. But you might want to
- 7:52Speaker 1: watch this even before the fight because it's going to
- 7:54Speaker 1: be absolutely dazzling. The plan and all kinds of things.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Some of these fighters gonna skydive and parachute into the ring.
- 8:03Speaker 1: They've been practicing this. In fact, they had the airspace
- 8:05Speaker 1: over DC closed yesterday to practice these parachute parachuting into
- 8:11Speaker 1: the arena. I mean, it's gonna be really dazzling. So
- 8:13Speaker 1: this will be on television Sunday night. The President will
- 8:16Speaker 1: be there. They've invited tons of people, and it's going
- 8:19Speaker 1: to be a spectacular event on the White House lawn.
- 8:22Speaker 1: It will drive Democrats nuts, the Trump haters, the liberals,
- 8:26Speaker 1: they'll go crazy. They don't like to see people having fun. Ooh,
- 8:30Speaker 1: they don't like to see Ultimate Fighting championship. Oh, they
- 8:33Speaker 1: don't like that. But people smiling, laughing, having fun. The
- 8:37Speaker 1: other thing that'll get him nuts it's President Trump's birthday Sunday.
- 8:41Speaker 1: It's his eightieth birthday, eightieth birthday, so part of this
- 8:47Speaker 1: will all be his birthday celebration. He's had a lot
- 8:51Speaker 1: of He's not a big guy on birthdays. You know,
- 8:53Speaker 1: there's some people that announce their birthday constantly. They have
- 8:56Speaker 1: birthday week, birthday month. I couldn't pin it. Tension of birthdays.
- 9:01Speaker 1: He's kind of like that too. And women go nuts
- 9:05Speaker 1: with birthdays. You look at them on their Instagram. It's
- 9:08Speaker 1: my birthday month. Every night, there's another dinner. They're in
- 9:11Speaker 1: a restaurant. You know. The other thing. If you ask
- 9:13Speaker 1: a woman how old she is, she'd be so offended.
- 9:16Speaker 1: She didn't lane in it. But if it's the birthday,
- 9:18Speaker 1: they got balloons, and they got one of those balloons
- 9:20Speaker 1: with the age like a five to Oh the balloon
- 9:23Speaker 1: is up there for the whole restaurant to see. But oh,
- 9:26Speaker 1: the Trump has had birthday parties. I remember it would
- 9:30Speaker 1: have been ninety six. I remember going to his fiftieth
- 9:34Speaker 1: birthday party. It was in the lobby of Trump Tower,
- 9:37Speaker 1: which is a huge place, well, a lobby in the base,
- 9:39Speaker 1: you know where the escalator is. It was an enormous
- 9:42Speaker 1: birthday party. Hundreds of people. Remember Earth the Kits sang
- 9:48Speaker 1: at it, the Great Earth of Kit. Tony Bennett was there,
- 9:51Speaker 1: you know. It was a great painter. He painted a painting,
- 9:54Speaker 1: a mar Algomy. That was the birthday President President Trump.
- 9:58Speaker 1: I remember hundreds hundreds of gold balloons coming down. But
- 10:02Speaker 1: that's thirty years ago, nineteen ninety six. I don't think
- 10:06Speaker 1: he's had a not really not a big birthday party
- 10:09Speaker 1: since then. But it'll be a Sunday, so that will
- 10:12Speaker 1: be good. Hey, the SpaceX Ipo has opened. I think
- 10:17Speaker 1: it's still one thirty five, although it's not. I don't
- 10:22Speaker 1: know if it's fully trading yet. The SpaceX Ipo, that's
- 10:25Speaker 1: Elon Muck's new company. He rang the opening bell this
- 10:29Speaker 1: morning and let me see. Yeah, it's still at one
- 10:32Speaker 1: thirty five. It doesn't look like it's really trading yet.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Nothing of it, no data available yet. Hey, oil is
- 10:38Speaker 1: way down. Remember when it went up ten dollars a
- 10:42Speaker 1: barrel and it was the lead story on every network newscast.
- 10:45Speaker 1: It's down thirty dollars a barrel since that point, since
- 10:49Speaker 1: the highest point, it's down thirty dollars a barrel. No coverage,
- 10:53Speaker 1: no mention of it. They don't even mention it on
- 10:55Speaker 1: the news. They don't want to bring that up. So
- 11:00Speaker 1: be a lot of stuf this weekend. So Saturday night,
- 11:03Speaker 1: you know, the World Cup, the FIFA World Cup is on.
- 11:06Speaker 1: It was in Mexico. They're doing different cities around the US.
- 11:09Speaker 1: It's going to be in Philadelphia, it's going to be
- 11:11Speaker 1: in Seattle. But Saturday Night is New Jersey. It's not
- 11:16Speaker 1: the Metal Lands. It's in the Metal Lands where they
- 11:19Speaker 1: call that stadium MetLife. You're not allowed to call it
- 11:21Speaker 1: MetLife for FIFA World Cup. They have this rule, no advertising,
- 11:26Speaker 1: no brand name, So it's going to be called metal
- 11:30Speaker 1: Lands Stadium for the night. But it'll be Saturday night.
- 11:33Speaker 1: I think it's early six o'clock, and then you got
- 11:36Speaker 1: the Knicks at eight thirty. That's in San Antonio, so
- 11:40Speaker 1: that'll everybody'll be watching that, and the Knicks could clinch
- 11:42Speaker 1: the whole thing Saturday night. Then Sunday you got the
- 11:45Speaker 1: big UFC fight. That's great news. So keep an eye
- 11:49Speaker 1: on all of that stuff. If the Knicks don't win
- 11:53Speaker 1: Saturday night at some point, if they if the series
- 11:56Speaker 1: stretches out, they'll come back to Madison Square Garden. I
- 12:00Speaker 1: don't know what's going to happen as far as watch
- 12:01Speaker 1: parties and all that. James Dolan, owner of Madison Square Garden,
- 12:06Speaker 1: and the Knicks kind of telling off the mayor and
- 12:10Speaker 1: the police commissioner for giving him the hard time with
- 12:14Speaker 1: the frozen zones and obstructing the watch parties and all that,
- 12:18Speaker 1: and Dolan actually saying, problem is them, this mayor, this
- 12:22Speaker 1: police commissioner don't have much experience. They're inexperienced. They don't
- 12:26Speaker 1: handle these kind of things. A strong statement from him,
- 12:29Speaker 1: But obviously the mayor has no experience, never even had
- 12:32Speaker 1: a job. The police commissioner's really not very experienced when
- 12:36Speaker 1: it comes to police stuff. She had been previously years
- 12:40Speaker 1: ago in the NYPD, but it was in an it job,
- 12:44Speaker 1: nothing to do with policing. There's also rumors all over
- 12:49Speaker 1: the place that Jessica Tish may be leaving, that she'll
- 12:53Speaker 1: wait till after the World Cup. Just rumors, but they're
- 12:56Speaker 1: rumors from pretty high places that she may be at
- 13:00Speaker 1: some point. Who would mom Donnie put in his police
- 13:03Speaker 1: commissioner people on his short list, they're not that scary.
- 13:07Speaker 1: One is Suffolk County. I think he's a police chief there,
- 13:11Speaker 1: but he had been at the NYPD for years. It's
- 13:14Speaker 1: not a bad choice. And the other one who I
- 13:16Speaker 1: think is getting to the top of the list, he
- 13:18Speaker 1: former NYPD chief for years, very very qualified. He's been
- 13:23Speaker 1: in New Jersey the last few years, retired from the NYPD.
- 13:26Speaker 1: He's been in a New Jersey in some high positions.
- 13:29Speaker 1: But those two are not bad choices, so it's not
- 13:34Speaker 1: that scary if she leaves. So hey, we got a
- 13:36Speaker 1: lot to get to. We'll get to Ukraine and more
- 13:41Speaker 1: coming up. Hey, thanks to Barrett Media. You know you've
- 13:44Speaker 1: heard us talk about it, but Barrett Media is the
- 13:46Speaker 1: bible of the radio industry, the talk radio industry, the
- 13:50Speaker 1: music radio industry. It's like the official trade magazine of radio.
- 13:54Speaker 1: And they have a big summit every year. It'll be
- 13:58Speaker 1: June thirtieth days. But they've just announced I will receive
- 14:04Speaker 1: the gold Standard and Broadcasting Award. It's like the Lifetime
- 14:08Speaker 1: Achievement Award. You know what that means. To get a
- 14:09Speaker 1: Lifetime Achievement Award means you're getting old. A lifetime achievement award.
- 14:14Speaker 1: That's a great honor, the gold standard in broadcasting. Thanks
- 14:17Speaker 1: to Barrett Media. You can read about it if you
- 14:20Speaker 1: go to Barrettmedia dot com. Barrettmedia dot com. I think
- 14:26Speaker 1: you can. Actually, I think anybody can buy tickets. It's
- 14:28Speaker 1: open to the public, I think. But it's a great conference.
- 14:32Speaker 1: You go there and it's everybody in talk radio. Every
- 14:36Speaker 1: major talk host is there, all the top program directors.
- 14:41Speaker 1: But imagine this, and they do it every year, all
- 14:43Speaker 1: the top talk radio hosts in America in one room.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Do you know what it's like trying to get a
- 14:47Speaker 1: word in in that room with those people. It's great though, Hey,
- 14:51Speaker 1: we'll take some calls. Next eight hundred three to two
- 14:54Speaker 1: one zero seven ten is the number. Eight hundred three
- 14:58Speaker 1: two one zero seven Tan
