- 19:13Speaker 6: You'll find them all there. Now let's bringing Mira Sharma
- 19:16Speaker 6: to the show.
- 19:17Speaker 21: Hey Sammy, Hey everyone, Mira Sharma here with your weekly
- 19:21Speaker 21: dose of mindful suss helping you stay self assured, spirited
- 19:25Speaker 21: and strong. This week's reminder, just because everyone else is
- 19:30Speaker 21: doing something, it does not mean you have to. It's
- 19:34Speaker 21: easy to look around and feel like you're behind. Maybe
- 19:37Speaker 21: everyone seems to be hitting those big milestones, making big moves,
- 19:42Speaker 21: or following a certain path.
- 19:44Speaker 12: But here's the thing.
- 19:46Speaker 21: Their timeline is not yours. Life isn't a race, and
- 19:50Speaker 21: there isn't a prize for getting somewhere first. Your journey
- 19:54Speaker 21: is unique, your timing is unique. What's meant for you
- 19:57Speaker 21: will happen when it's meant for you, not someone else's calendars,
- 20:01Speaker 21: as it should. So this week, stop comparing and start trusting.
- 20:06Speaker 21: Focus on your path, your growth, and your next step,
- 20:10Speaker 21: because the best lights you'll ever live is the one
- 20:13Speaker 21: that's true to you.
- 20:14Speaker 1: You've got this. Thank you so much.
- 20:17Speaker 6: Mira Mirah appears every week here on the bridge with
- 20:19Speaker 6: a mindful minute.

- 23:56Speaker 10: by Misterigta. I must have gotta.
- 24:01Speaker 1: Produced by the great Ara Himan.
- 24:03Speaker 6: It's from the brand new soundtrack Mayor vappas Aonga that
- 24:06Speaker 6: just came out this weekend. What a great track. It's
- 24:09Speaker 6: the second song we've played for that soundtrack. Now let's
- 24:12Speaker 6: bring in Daniel Johnson from the UN News.
- 24:15Speaker 22: This is UN News Today with me Daniel Johnson. The headlines.
- 24:20Speaker 22: As the Middle East crisis threatens to escalate even further,
- 24:23Speaker 22: un Chief could Terish warns of unpredictable consequences unless all
- 24:28Speaker 22: parties return to a full cease fire. Meanwhile, in the
- 24:32Speaker 22: Democratic Republic of the Congo, children are the next likely
- 24:36Speaker 22: target of a fast spreading Ebwuela outbreak, and in Haiti,
- 24:40Speaker 22: a safe house has opened for survivors of sexual violence,
- 24:44Speaker 22: but much more assistance is needed, the UN says, and
- 24:51Speaker 22: it reports of a possible new deal to halt hostilities
- 24:54Speaker 22: between Iran and the United States. The UN Secretary General
- 24:57Speaker 22: has once again expressed deep concern at the the escalation
- 25:00Speaker 22: in the Middle East. His comments followed the strikes by
- 25:03Speaker 22: the US on Iran, which for its part, targeted neighboring
- 25:06Speaker 22: countries in the Gulf and beyond. These actions represent a
- 25:10Speaker 22: significant increase in hostile rhetoric, and Tony Guterresch said instead
- 25:15Speaker 22: of violence, the Unsector General urged a return to full
- 25:18Speaker 22: implementation of the cease fire and the avoidance of any
- 25:21Speaker 22: further deterioration that could trigger a full resumption of the conflict.
- 25:26Speaker 22: This would have unpredictable consequences for the region and the world,
- 25:29Speaker 22: especially the most vulnerable countries, Mister Guterish said in a
- 25:33Speaker 22: statement issued by his spokesperson. The deadly ebola outbreak in
- 25:38Speaker 22: Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo or DRC is continuing
- 25:42Speaker 22: to spread, with a spike in child infections increasingly likely
- 25:46Speaker 22: in coming days. That's the warning from UN humanitarians, who
- 25:49Speaker 22: said on Friday that the scale of the emergency is
- 25:52Speaker 22: much bigger than what the limited tracking data shows. With
- 25:56Speaker 22: more hear is doctor Olivier Le Pullin from the Weld
- 25:59Speaker 22: Health Organization, who the.
- 26:01Speaker 23: Full scale of the ARTBRIK is not yet clear and
- 26:03Speaker 23: will get more clarity as civil has improved, as testing improved.
- 26:07Speaker 23: We are just over seventy percent in terms of the
- 26:11Speaker 23: contacts that have been appropriately traced. That's a huge improvement
- 26:14Speaker 23: from where we were about a week or two ago,
- 26:16Speaker 23: but it's still too low to ensure appropriate control.
- 26:19Speaker 22: It's been around three weeks since national health authorities confirmed
- 26:23Speaker 22: a new Ebler emergency in eastern DRC. A total of
- 26:27Speaker 22: six hundred and seventy six cases have been reported, including
- 26:30Speaker 22: one hundred and thirty six deaths from the rare and
- 26:33Speaker 22: deadly Bundibugyo species that's behind this outbreak. Those leading the
- 26:38Speaker 22: response are particularly worried for children, as many are malnourished
- 26:42Speaker 22: and unvaccinated against preventable illness. This has made them extremely
- 26:46Speaker 22: vulnerable to disease. In the resource rich region where a
- 26:49Speaker 22: humanitarian crisis is ongoing caused by decades of fighting between
- 26:54Speaker 22: Congolese forces and armed militia, to Haiti, where the first
- 26:58Speaker 22: state supported safe house has open and for survivors of
- 27:01Speaker 22: sexual violence with the help of the UN. It's a
- 27:04Speaker 22: small but welcome step in supporting victims of an increasing
- 27:07Speaker 22: number of attacks whose aim is to terrorize and control communities.
- 27:12Speaker 22: Gender Equality Agency UN Women says. Speaking from Porto Prince,
- 27:17Speaker 22: the agency's Marrigeretti Indouayo said that gang violence used to
- 27:21Speaker 22: be concentrated in the capital that was now spreading across
- 27:25Speaker 22: the country and forcing people from their homes. The result
- 27:28Speaker 22: is deep and lasting trauma, mainly for women and girls.
- 27:32Speaker 24: The violence that they survived followed them every day and
- 27:37Speaker 24: every night, even as they sleep, their memories of their
- 27:42Speaker 24: houses being burnt down, or gangs following them into the
- 27:49Speaker 24: forests of families, members and friends killed in front of them. Today,
- 27:56Speaker 24: extortion at illegal checkpoint of gang droads, repetitive kidnapping, and
- 28:03Speaker 24: sexual violence have left women and girls fearing for their
- 28:08Speaker 24: safety and leaving them unable to even take part in
- 28:12Speaker 24: daily life.
- 28:14Speaker 22: MS Gerretti Indueo cited data showing that sexual violence surged
- 28:18Speaker 22: by one hundred and sixty three percent in twenty twenty
- 28:21Speaker 22: five compared with the previous year. This includes approximately sixteen
- 28:26Speaker 22: hundred and seventy women and nearly two hundred girls. UN
- 28:30Speaker 22: Women supports all women and girls in Haiti by working
- 28:33Speaker 22: with the authorities to provide life saving support and help
- 28:36Speaker 22: them rebuild their lives. This includes Haiti's first state backed
- 28:41Speaker 22: safe house, which represents an important milestone confronting gender based violence.
- 28:46Speaker 22: The agency insisted Daniel Johnson UN News.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Thank you so much.
- 28:51Speaker 6: Daniel and Daniel appears every week here on the Bridge
- 28:55Speaker 6: as part of rackas Avenue Radio's partnership with the UN News.

- 34:05Speaker 6: guys singing this song. And I'm looking forward to hearing
- 34:07Speaker 6: that version in a recorded way. I don't think they've
- 34:10Speaker 6: released it. It's just been Syvy for Reed releasing.
- 34:14Speaker 1: His own solo version. It's a great song.

- 37:14Speaker 1: Folks. I've got the man himself. How are you, anchor?
- 37:18Speaker 4: I'm very good. It's early morning here in Bombay and
- 37:23Speaker 4: you've caught me with my coffee mug.
- 37:25Speaker 12: In my hand.
- 37:25Speaker 1: That's perfect.
- 37:26Speaker 6: That's that's how we like this because that's when you're
- 37:28Speaker 6: probably most contemplative about everything. And so I think we've
- 37:32Speaker 6: got you in a good state of mind for this
- 37:34Speaker 6: discussion today. Yeah, you know, we're all, you know, big
- 37:40Speaker 6: World Cup buffs over here. Any any predictions for what
- 37:45Speaker 6: you think we're all going to see over this next
- 37:47Speaker 6: month or so here in the US, in Canada and Mexico.
- 37:51Speaker 4: I mean, it's very exciting. This World Cup has some
- 37:55Speaker 4: exciting teams as usual. Germany started with the Bank seven
- 37:59Speaker 4: to one. That kind believe it? What of core first game?
- 38:02Speaker 4: But my money this time somehow is on the Netherlands. Oh,
- 38:08Speaker 4: I think they are going to sneak the way through
- 38:10Speaker 4: when when the finals?
- 38:11Speaker 1: Interesting interesting call, you know, that's that's quite against the
- 38:17Speaker 1: populis Spain or the popular France prediction. So that's that's
- 38:21Speaker 1: an interesting one.
- 38:23Speaker 4: Spain in France definitely should make the quarters. Pain France
- 38:28Speaker 4: and Argentina probably should make the quarters. But Netherlands is
- 38:33Speaker 4: a team to look out for.
- 38:34Speaker 1: I think so too.
- 38:35Speaker 4: I think so too.
- 38:36Speaker 6: Scary, scary, well fun stuff. You know, we've been big
- 38:41Speaker 6: fans of your work throughout the years of CORN. If
- 38:44Speaker 6: there's anything that we can take away from observing how
- 38:47Speaker 6: much you've accomplished in this business is the breadth of
- 38:50Speaker 6: the work. You've played many roles, you've accommodated many equations
- 38:56Speaker 6: into your work, and you've done you know what, I
- 38:59Speaker 6: would Consteader of the Gamut as a creative in this space.
- 39:03Speaker 6: From the music side, you know, of the many hats
- 39:06Speaker 6: you wear, is there a particular one that's your favorite.
- 39:11Speaker 4: I mean, for the outside world, it seems like I'm
- 39:13Speaker 4: wearing many hats, but for me, it's all about music.
- 39:18Speaker 4: Anything to do with music exciting. I want to be
- 39:20Speaker 4: involved in, whether it's creating music, whether it's curating music,
- 39:26Speaker 4: whether it's supervising music, whether it's you know, run a label.
- 39:33Speaker 4: So it's anything to do with music excite me, and
- 39:36Speaker 4: sometimes I think that I should be doing fewer things.
- 39:42Speaker 1: That's great.
- 39:44Speaker 6: Well, listen, you know you you you obviously fit into
- 39:48Speaker 6: those roles very comfortably. Might I add, so that's that's
- 39:51Speaker 6: probably why they they all lean on you for these
- 39:53Speaker 6: things here on go.
- 39:54Speaker 1: That's that's a good thing.
- 39:56Speaker 12: You know.
- 39:56Speaker 6: I always look at the space that you thrive in,
- 40:00Speaker 6: and when you kind of look in the individual lens
- 40:03Speaker 6: of what you do as a singer songwriter, you know,
- 40:05Speaker 6: the South Asian space has notoriously been very difficult on
- 40:10Speaker 6: this specific genre. It's been something that they've been always
- 40:13Speaker 6: very difficult to get their arms around as far as
- 40:15Speaker 6: contextualizing an individual and the story of an individual.
- 40:19Speaker 1: What are your thoughts about this? Do you see the
- 40:22Speaker 1: singer songwriters plight getting easier here as we go along?
- 40:27Speaker 4: I think for an artist to a fight is never
- 40:29Speaker 4: going to be easy, and the more difficult it is,
- 40:31Speaker 4: the better your work becomes. I feel that I don't
- 40:36Speaker 4: look at music as a genre. Music. I feel if
- 40:40Speaker 4: it comes from the heart, whether it's pop, whether it's reggae,
- 40:42Speaker 4: whether it's singer songwriter, it kind of like hits the
- 40:47Speaker 4: spot at some point, but you never you can can't
- 40:50Speaker 4: ever figure when it's going to hit the spot. You
- 40:52Speaker 4: need to continue doing your work and as long as
- 40:57Speaker 4: you are pouring your heart out you're satisfied with what
- 41:01Speaker 4: you're making, that aspect really fulfills a lot. Obviously, as
- 41:07Speaker 4: an artist, you want your work to be seeing her recognized.
- 41:11Speaker 4: That part is not in your control, so I don't
- 41:15Speaker 4: really spend a lot of time worrying about that part.
- 41:17Speaker 4: That part if it has to click it, if it
- 41:20Speaker 4: has to cast the imagination of the world, then it does.
- 41:23Speaker 4: But a lot of times that are missing, and you
- 41:27Speaker 4: can't be bogged down about that. It's not going to
- 41:30Speaker 4: be easy, I would say, it's never easy, but this
- 41:33Speaker 4: is what we have chosen to do.
- 41:35Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, for sure, mister Farik.
- 41:39Speaker 6: Last time we spoke here on the bridge, you would
- 41:43Speaker 6: introduce this project to our audience, and now we're starting
- 41:47Speaker 6: to see the beginnings of it make its way out there.
- 41:50Speaker 1: And here's the first single. It's called one fifteen Am.
- 41:54Speaker 6: Tell us about the single and the title specifically, and
- 41:57Speaker 6: of course your collaboration on this song.
- 42:02Speaker 4: So this is part of my album Mister Farek, which
- 42:06Speaker 4: is a contemplation, an investigation into procrastination. It's about how
- 42:13Speaker 4: when I was younger, I would not be so intimidated
- 42:17Speaker 4: by sitting idle. Now we find ourselves in situations where
- 42:21Speaker 4: being idol is written with guilt and with anxiety attached
- 42:27Speaker 4: to it, and the connerfation between the present me and
- 42:33Speaker 4: the past me of how I could I could be
- 42:37Speaker 4: idle and sit without doing any work and not feel anxious?
- 42:42Speaker 4: Could I reach thatch date again? So all the songs
- 42:46Speaker 4: kind of lean towards that. The first single, one to
- 42:48Speaker 4: fifteen Am after ours is is when the noise outside
- 42:54Speaker 4: is important for you in a way where it can
- 42:57Speaker 4: round the voices in your head. Sometimes you don't want
- 43:00Speaker 4: to listen to the voices in your head. You plunge
- 43:02Speaker 4: yourself and into the night and you go out and
- 43:05Speaker 4: have a wild night. So that's how the idea began,
- 43:10Speaker 4: and I wanted to make a fun track of off,
- 43:14Speaker 4: you know, having a fun night in Bandray and Bombay. Also,
- 43:18Speaker 4: I wanted to capture the pop culture here, the pubs
- 43:22Speaker 4: that we go to, the people that we party with,
- 43:25Speaker 4: the DJs that are playing right now, all of that
- 43:29Speaker 4: in my lyrics, which is kind of not usual in
- 43:34Speaker 4: Indian songwriting. Usually we use a lot of metaphors and
- 43:38Speaker 4: we don't address things directly, so I thought that could
- 43:41Speaker 4: be exciting. I ended up working with the really amazing
- 43:44Speaker 4: producer Sudan. I've made one song with him before, and
- 43:52Speaker 4: he approached it to the very fresh, fresh ideas night
- 43:56Speaker 4: Cruise and then my and me it's shut Up who
- 44:02Speaker 4: gave this chunky bass line and the hash bass who
- 44:06Speaker 4: played the really disco infused bassline, and shut Up with
- 44:12Speaker 4: those you know, chunky guitars really like kind of brought
- 44:16Speaker 4: the song to life.
- 44:18Speaker 6: It's it's it's amazing, so well put together. And you know,
- 44:23Speaker 6: the the range of collaborations that we played of yours
- 44:25Speaker 6: here on this show is pretty impressive and wild as well,
- 44:28Speaker 6: in the form of you know, everything from a soybo
- 44:30Speaker 6: house of music. The song Danced with Me, We played
- 44:33Speaker 6: that so much on this show. And you know, even
- 44:36Speaker 6: and even through a lot of your work, even on
- 44:38Speaker 6: an individual level. But when I zoom out, let's just say,
- 44:41Speaker 6: and you see these individuals that you've collaborated with, Uncle,
- 44:44Speaker 6: it's a remarkable list. But you know, you you have
- 44:47Speaker 6: to have a sense of you know yourself in collaborating
- 44:54Speaker 6: with other artists. And I think that self identity in
- 44:57Speaker 6: what you bring to the table is so important as
- 44:59Speaker 6: with any collaboration, in any nature of it. You know,
- 45:03Speaker 6: given the range of your collaborations, there is there like
- 45:07Speaker 6: a secret that you have found as far as making
- 45:10Speaker 6: yourself the perfect partner in a dynamic.
- 45:16Speaker 4: I've not really thought about it. I know what I
- 45:18Speaker 4: bring to the room. When I enter the room, I
- 45:21Speaker 4: feel that a lot of us are trying to do
- 45:25Speaker 4: the same thing, achieve the same thing, and if you
- 45:27Speaker 4: do it together, we feel less lonely, and and when
- 45:31Speaker 4: we approach the thing. For me, it's like I have
- 45:35Speaker 4: this imposts syndrome of not going to any music school
- 45:38Speaker 4: and learning music, you know, in a school. So when
- 45:42Speaker 4: I am in a in a studio with another musician,
- 45:47Speaker 4: for me, that's like I'm in school with them, and
- 45:49Speaker 4: I learn how they approach songwriting and mainly making the
- 45:54Speaker 4: song usually is I would say fifteen to twenty percent
- 45:58Speaker 4: of what we're doing in the studio. The rest of
- 46:01Speaker 4: the eighty eighty five person is hanging getting to know
- 46:06Speaker 4: the other person, vibing with a sense of humor, what
- 46:11Speaker 4: are we eating? What are we watching? What are we eating? Right?
- 46:16Speaker 4: And those conversations are basically that usually, you know, give
- 46:23Speaker 4: the germ of the idea of what we're going to
- 46:25Speaker 4: work on, and then from there on you lose a
- 46:28Speaker 4: track of time and space and then something comes out
- 46:30Speaker 4: of it. I fear blessed that evening. That's beautiful.
- 46:33Speaker 1: That's a really good way of putting it. It really is.
- 46:36Speaker 6: The collaboration begins and just you know, two individuals, you know,
- 46:40Speaker 6: negotiating over some simple stuff like food and what to
- 46:43Speaker 6: order and what.
- 46:44Speaker 4: It's really great to say the best best things come
- 46:47Speaker 4: in the smoking corners.
- 46:48Speaker 21: You know.
- 46:48Speaker 1: That's right, brother, that's right for sure. That's great.
- 46:52Speaker 6: O good this single upbeat like you mentioned it to be.
- 46:56Speaker 6: Before we play this for everybody here, tell us something
- 46:59Speaker 6: about out this song that perhaps the the press release
- 47:03Speaker 6: doesn't tell you about it.
- 47:06Speaker 4: I mean the people in the song, right from Chav
- 47:08Speaker 4: who's a really nice DJ. I love his DJing. There's
- 47:12Speaker 4: a hat tip to him. Uh. There's a there's a
- 47:17Speaker 4: bar here Bonnabo and Bandra where we usually go and
- 47:20Speaker 4: find other musicians and other artists. Really fun bar.
- 47:25Speaker 12: Uh.
- 47:26Speaker 4: There are Channas Harram are usual. Usually end up finding
- 47:30Speaker 4: Chamis rum Page and Nato eight, who's another DJ, another musician,
- 47:34Speaker 4: amazing bass player as well. You end up finding them
- 47:37Speaker 4: in various uh you know, gigs, after scenes. So it's
- 47:42Speaker 4: basically a bunch of us together who are living this
- 47:45Speaker 4: time and having a blast through the world of music,
- 47:50Speaker 4: whether it's gigs, whether it's like green rooms, whether it's
- 47:53Speaker 4: after parties, whether it's fair music festivals or bars, and
- 47:58Speaker 4: it's it's a kind of a tribe. And you see
- 48:02Speaker 4: anyone of anyone of these people from the tribe anywhere
- 48:05Speaker 4: in the world. The other time I was in La
- 48:08Speaker 4: I was walking down in Venice and I turned the
- 48:11Speaker 4: corner and I found Clayton, who's one of the tribes,
- 48:14Speaker 4: and it really felt like a home and you see
- 48:18Speaker 4: home in them, And for me, I'm so happy that
- 48:22Speaker 4: I could put that in a song where I could
- 48:27Speaker 4: kind of, you know, get the sense of what we
- 48:31Speaker 4: are going through right now musically, and I feel I'm
- 48:34Speaker 4: curious about I'm curious about like a few years from
- 48:37Speaker 4: now when I look back to this time, would it
- 48:41Speaker 4: bring a smile to my face. I love it.
- 48:44Speaker 6: I love it, you know, with that vibe in mind
- 48:46Speaker 6: and such a humanized perspective of all of this, which
- 48:50Speaker 6: sometimes we forget here in the music business, in the
- 48:53Speaker 6: world of art. And I think we should thank you
- 48:57Speaker 6: for this perspective. With that in mind and with that
- 49:00Speaker 6: energy in hand, Uncle, can you please do us the
- 49:02Speaker 6: honor of introducing your brand new single here for us.
- 49:07Speaker 4: So here's the my brand new single one fifteen Am
