- 0:28SPEAKER_01: This book explores the intersection of loneliness, love,
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: and how chasing perfection through technology can lead to fantasy
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: and reality colliding.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: My virtual obsession out now.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: Hey everybody,
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: it's Catherine Crestani with another episode of Willow Healing Matters
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: and today I am joined by Beth Milbrecht.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: She is a health detective who works with brilliant,
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: intuitive people who know their symptoms mean something.
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: She helps people get exact answers, not more guessing.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: She uses digital muscle testing to find hidden imbalances
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: and provides custom remedies with one-on-one coaching.
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: Clients describe Beth as having Google Maps for your health, so a big welcome to the show, Beth.
- 1:07SPEAKER_01: Hello, hello, Catherine.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: I'm so happy to be here.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: I love that your Google Maps for Health.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: I love that so much.
- 1:15SPEAKER_02: One of my clients said that and I thought it was brilliant.
- 1:18SPEAKER_02: I said, I have to use that everywhere now.
- 1:20SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: So my first question that I like to find out is kind of how did you come
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: to this point where you're a health detective and what led you to
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: who you are right now?
- 1:31SPEAKER_02: It's a journey.
- 1:32SPEAKER_02: Yes, it took years to get to this point.
- 1:35SPEAKER_02: I
- 1:36SPEAKER_02: have always been very healthy and very aware of my body.
- 1:41SPEAKER_02: I thought everyone was like this.
- 1:43SPEAKER_02: I thought everyone noticed the moment they ate a food that whether it was good
- 1:48SPEAKER_02: or bad for them, like they could just tell, like I could, but that's not the case.
- 1:53SPEAKER_02: And I thought that everyone just knew what to do if they
- 1:58SPEAKER_02: got a headache or something was bothering them that they would just keep figuring it out.
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: They wouldn't just say,
- 2:04SPEAKER_02: I guess I'll just have a headache today and not do anything or just try
- 2:08SPEAKER_02: to take pain relievers and numb it out.
- 2:12SPEAKER_02: But that's not how the world works.
- 2:15SPEAKER_02: And I found myself working with just lots of family and friends who had
- 2:23SPEAKER_02: I thought they were pretty minor things.
- 2:24SPEAKER_02: Like, you can figure this out.
- 2:26SPEAKER_02: And they said, no, I can't.
- 2:28SPEAKER_02: There's nothing I can do.
- 2:29SPEAKER_02: I just have to take the medication.
- 2:31SPEAKER_02: I just have to miss work because I feel sick and I don't know what to do.
- 2:35SPEAKER_02: And I really wanted to shake them.
- 2:36SPEAKER_02: Like, come on, people.
- 2:38SPEAKER_02: You can heal yourself.
- 2:40SPEAKER_02: Your body knows what to do.
- 2:41SPEAKER_02: And they had stopped asking questions.
- 2:44SPEAKER_02: themselves and they had started relying on other people.
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: And sometimes those answers don't work very well.
- 2:51SPEAKER_02: Sometimes they do, but sometimes they don't.
- 2:53SPEAKER_02: And you should know this about me.
- 2:55SPEAKER_02: I'm a mechanical engineer.
- 2:57SPEAKER_02: I've been a mechanical engineer for 35 years and I like to solve problems.
- 3:02SPEAKER_02: So your mechanical engineers are the people who build cars
- 3:06SPEAKER_02: and make sure you have heat in the winter and air conditioning in the summer and all
- 3:11SPEAKER_02: of those practical things that make life good.
- 3:14SPEAKER_02: They build things with their hands and that's what I do.
- 3:16SPEAKER_02: And I couldn't stand it anymore.
- 3:19SPEAKER_02: I wanted to help my friends and family.
- 3:21SPEAKER_02: And I was uniquely positioned to do this because of the way I'm wired and
- 3:28SPEAKER_02: the way I perceive my body.
- 3:29SPEAKER_02: So then when I had my family, the way I raised my family was totally unusual.
- 3:36SPEAKER_02: I used homeopathy.
- 3:38SPEAKER_02: I used hands-on healing.
- 3:39SPEAKER_02: I used all of that stuff and it worked out wonderfully.
- 3:44SPEAKER_02: So I decided a few years ago, enough.
- 3:50SPEAKER_02: I have all of the tools I need.
- 3:52SPEAKER_02: I have to go help people because when people are healthy, they think better.
- 3:58SPEAKER_02: They make better decisions.
- 4:00SPEAKER_02: They are more creative.
- 4:02SPEAKER_02: They solve problems.
- 4:03SPEAKER_02: They're more fun to be around.
- 4:05SPEAKER_02: And that's what I wanted.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: I love that so much, Beth.
- 4:07SPEAKER_01: And I love that your background's a mechanical engineer.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: So yeah, you're like, no, we're solving the problem.
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: We're not putting a bandaid over that Absolutely And it's funny
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: because how you raise your family that's how I raise my family you know
- 4:23SPEAKER_01: so it's not I think it's becoming more accepted
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: and people are not you know I've interviewed a lot of people on this podcast
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: and more and more people are turning for alternative approaches
- 4:34SPEAKER_01: because they don't want to accept the diagnosis or they don't want
- 4:38SPEAKER_01: to like you said your family just blindly were like oh well this is all we can do
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: When it's not,
- 4:43SPEAKER_01: when you stop and give over your power to a disease or you give over your power to
- 4:49SPEAKER_01: an ailment, then you are losing a part of yourself, right?
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: And you're not allowing yourself to be healthy and make those decisions exactly like you said.
- 4:58SPEAKER_02: Yes, yes.
- 4:59SPEAKER_02: And I'm in New York in the United States and homeopathy is very much being shut down
- 5:08SPEAKER_02: or just really not common anymore.
- 5:12SPEAKER_02: Hanneman Hospital named after Samuel Hanneman
- 5:14SPEAKER_02: in Philadelphia does not practice homeopathy at all.
- 5:18SPEAKER_02: So there's a lot of lost wisdom over the decades.
- 5:22SPEAKER_02: And I'm on a crusade to talk about energy medicine,
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: all of it,
- 5:28SPEAKER_02: all of the ways that you can use your natural body's electric system,
- 5:34SPEAKER_02: the energy system to heal.
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: There's so many different pathways to healing and that's what is important to me.
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: I love that so much and my question is because I use muscle testing on myself all
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: the time so when you were sharing that when I was reading out your bio
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: but I am curious what you mean by digital muscle testing what is that?
- 5:56SPEAKER_02: I am so glad that you use muscle testing and it's for the listeners
- 6:00SPEAKER_02: who don't know muscle testing is when you are in person with a practitioner
- 6:05SPEAKER_02: and it's also called applied kinesiology and usually that practitioner is
- 6:10SPEAKER_02: will ask you to hold out your arm and press on your wrist and ask a yes or no question.
- 6:17SPEAKER_02: And if it's true for your body,
- 6:20SPEAKER_02: your muscles will be strong and your arm will stay strong and outstretched.
- 6:23SPEAKER_02: And if the answer is no,
- 6:26SPEAKER_02: then there's a slight weakness and your arm dips a little bit
- 6:29SPEAKER_02: and your body just knows like, that's not right.
- 6:31SPEAKER_02: For example, if I did it and I said, my name is Beth, my arm would be straight.
- 6:36SPEAKER_02: If I said, my name is Louise, that would not be
- 6:40SPEAKER_02: That's not correct.
- 6:41SPEAKER_02: So there would be a little dip.
- 6:42SPEAKER_02: And so then the practitioner needs to interpret that.
- 6:44SPEAKER_02: And then also there's,
- 6:46SPEAKER_02: okay, we can ask lots of questions about the health of the body and organs.
- 6:50SPEAKER_02: But then it depends on the skill of the practitioner, making sure the practitioner is unbiased.
- 6:57SPEAKER_02: Because if you were doing it to me and you knew that I had a really stressful day,
- 7:02SPEAKER_02: you might know like, okay, I'm guessing at this is what could be the problem.
- 7:06SPEAKER_02: And I'd like to have a degree of objectivity.
- 7:09SPEAKER_02: so that I'm not projecting my thoughts on what could be the issue with you.
- 7:15SPEAKER_02: And there's a limit to how many questions I can ask,
- 7:18SPEAKER_02: even if I think in my head,
- 7:19SPEAKER_02: but I still have to ask a question and test a response and then determine,
- 7:23SPEAKER_02: well, was that really weak or was it only a little weak?
- 7:27SPEAKER_02: And so there isn't a really good method of quantifying that when you're doing it in person.
- 7:31SPEAKER_02: And then you can do it to yourself like you do.
- 7:34SPEAKER_02: So you can
- 7:35SPEAKER_02: You can look this up on YouTube, but you can use your fingers.
- 7:39SPEAKER_02: You can do all kinds of things.
- 7:40SPEAKER_02: And the sway test, if you're just learning, is really good.
- 7:43SPEAKER_02: Like, are you drawn to it and you move forward?
- 7:46SPEAKER_02: Or no, you do not want broccoli.
- 7:49SPEAKER_02: Get that away from me and you move backwards.
- 7:53SPEAKER_02: Digital muscle testing, though,
- 7:56SPEAKER_02: was started in the 1940s by a German physician who was just tired of not being able
- 8:02SPEAKER_02: to get results for his clients.
- 8:04SPEAKER_02: And so he studied traditional Chinese medicine.
- 8:07SPEAKER_02: And then once he learned about the meridians,
- 8:09SPEAKER_02: he decided to measure the electrical resistance,
- 8:13SPEAKER_02: the charge,
- 8:13SPEAKER_02: the energy flow, all of those things at different points on the meridians.
- 8:19SPEAKER_02: So he could actually measure it and he could see where things were stuck.
- 8:22SPEAKER_02: So whereas acupuncturist can just feel it, he was measuring it.
- 8:27SPEAKER_02: And then he noticed if he gave someone
- 8:31SPEAKER_02: A remedy, the measurements would be different.
- 8:34SPEAKER_02: So that was the very beginning.
- 8:36SPEAKER_02: So fast forward 80 to 90 years with advances in electrical engineering,
- 8:42SPEAKER_02: digital technology, and modern physics.
- 8:45SPEAKER_02: I have lab-grade equipment that's run by computer software.
- 8:50SPEAKER_02: The kind I have is totally customizable.
- 8:53SPEAKER_02: So I get to make my own questions.
- 8:56SPEAKER_02: And what I'm doing is
- 8:58SPEAKER_02: is this device is sending you a text message and it's receiving the answer
- 9:03SPEAKER_02: and it's recording it in the software.
- 9:05SPEAKER_02: So I can do that very fast, remotely, asynchronously.
- 9:10SPEAKER_02: And guess what?
- 9:11SPEAKER_02: All of the responses, the strength of what's coming back is in homeopathic dilutions.
- 9:18SPEAKER_02: And I'm a homeopath.
- 9:20SPEAKER_02: It's like a match made in heaven.
- 9:22SPEAKER_02: So
- 9:23SPEAKER_02: Digital muscle testing is the same as in-person muscle testing
- 9:28SPEAKER_02: or what you do yourself, just with the aid of electronics.
- 9:32SPEAKER_02: And it allows me to ask a lot more things a lot more quickly.
- 9:36SPEAKER_02: And that's a simple answer.
- 9:39SPEAKER_02: And we are connected by the ether.
- 9:42SPEAKER_02: So it's very easy to connect with you and do this with your name and birth date.
- 9:49SPEAKER_01: This is so fascinating.
- 9:51SPEAKER_01: I love this so I have a I have a rife machine so I fully understand the beauties
- 9:56SPEAKER_01: of frequencies and you know like I put my fingernails in there and it keeps working
- 10:01SPEAKER_01: on me kind of thing but I have never heard of digital muscle testing before
- 10:05SPEAKER_01: but it makes to me it makes sense because you know if I'm working with
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: a client I can test on myself their their things through
- 10:13SPEAKER_01: the screen exactly like you said but to have that
- 10:16SPEAKER_01: measurement and to have a device that that gives that feedback it just allows it
- 10:21SPEAKER_01: to be more concrete too right and yes you know and so my my question that's popping
- 10:27SPEAKER_01: into my head Beth is how does it how does it kind of so you just put the name in and
- 10:33SPEAKER_01: the birth date and it just taps into the energy of the being or how does that work
- 10:38SPEAKER_02: so my system has copper electrodes so if we were in
- 10:42SPEAKER_02: the same room you could just hold on to them and then you'd have to sit there for a
- 10:46SPEAKER_02: while as I went through and did everything because it could take a little while
- 10:49SPEAKER_02: because I'm really curious and I ask and I run a lot of tests actually one
- 10:53SPEAKER_02: of my tests is what test is next and anyway so I keep going and going going
- 10:58SPEAKER_02: but you could sit there and hold it so you can do it in person
- 11:01SPEAKER_02: when I did my training four years ago so I didn't
- 11:06SPEAKER_02: Decide this on myself.
- 11:07SPEAKER_02: The manufacturers of this equipment trained everyone on how to do it remotely.
- 11:12SPEAKER_02: And what they did was name and birth date.
- 11:17SPEAKER_02: Now, in the software,
- 11:18SPEAKER_02: there's a place for name and address and email and phone number and birth date.
- 11:23SPEAKER_02: And gosh, I type in as much as I have for my clients.
- 11:27SPEAKER_02: I just want to make sure that the universe is going to find you.
- 11:33SPEAKER_02: And it always does.
- 11:34SPEAKER_02: It always does.
- 11:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:36SPEAKER_02: But really,
- 11:38SPEAKER_02: when you think about it,
- 11:40SPEAKER_02: if you wanted to send love and prayers to someone,
- 11:45SPEAKER_02: you don't even need their birthday.
- 11:47SPEAKER_02: You just need that person that I was thinking.
- 11:50SPEAKER_02: I don't even need to know their name.
- 11:52SPEAKER_02: You know it's going to get there.
- 11:55SPEAKER_02: Yes, but I fill in all the fields in the software,
- 11:59SPEAKER_02: but really when I was trained, it was name and birthday.
- 12:01SPEAKER_01: I'm assuming that the device that you use,
- 12:03SPEAKER_01: it obviously reflects the meridian systems,
- 12:06SPEAKER_01: which is how you get the feedback of where the blocks are and that sort of thing.
- 12:10SPEAKER_01: So do you get like a little report at the end or do you get a,
- 12:14SPEAKER_01: just like these are the frequencies or the meridians that are not working?
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: So
- 12:20SPEAKER_02: The best part, remember, I want to solve problems.
- 12:22SPEAKER_02: I don't want to give you a list of problems.
- 12:24SPEAKER_02: I want to give you solutions.
- 12:25SPEAKER_02: So what I'm finding out, the first thing is I go through 38 organs and systems.
- 12:32SPEAKER_02: So it's specific organs like pituitary and hypothalamus and thyroid and parathyroid,
- 12:38SPEAKER_02: but it's also circulatory and digestion and lymphatic.
- 12:43SPEAKER_02: So I'm covering both of those.
- 12:45SPEAKER_02: So that's the first thing I do is what
- 12:48SPEAKER_02: What is your body we're going to work on first?
- 12:50SPEAKER_02: And your body is never going to say, well, everything's terrible.
- 12:54SPEAKER_02: Let's fix it all.
- 12:56SPEAKER_02: Because that would feel awful.
- 12:59SPEAKER_02: Your body's going to say, let's start here.
- 13:01SPEAKER_02: Let's start with these three things.
- 13:04SPEAKER_02: Whatever.
- 13:04SPEAKER_02: Whatever the case is for you,
- 13:06SPEAKER_02: whatever your body can handle, it's going to say those things are out of balance.
- 13:09SPEAKER_02: But that's just the first step.
- 13:10SPEAKER_02: The next step is, what do you need to do to get into balance?
- 13:15SPEAKER_02: So say it was your thyroid.
- 13:16SPEAKER_02: It's out of balance.
- 13:18SPEAKER_02: The next thing is, do you need a vitamin?
- 13:21SPEAKER_02: Let's check.
- 13:21SPEAKER_02: Let's check all the vitamins.
- 13:23SPEAKER_02: Do you need a mineral?
- 13:24SPEAKER_02: Is it boron, magnesium, selenium, sulfur?
- 13:27SPEAKER_02: What do you need?
- 13:29SPEAKER_02: How about, is it an environmental toxin?
- 13:31SPEAKER_02: Let's go through the insecticides, pesticides, preservatives, all kinds of chemical residues.
- 13:40SPEAKER_02: Let's see what you need.
- 13:42SPEAKER_02: And so sometimes it's the energetic signature of a nutrient that is helpful to you.
- 13:49SPEAKER_02: And sometimes it is the information your body needs.
- 13:52SPEAKER_02: Like I've been trying to get rid of this thing and I don't know what to do with it.
- 13:57SPEAKER_02: And it's the information.
- 13:58SPEAKER_02: You're not getting more of a pesticide.
- 14:00SPEAKER_02: So in a homeopathic way, you know, sometimes like arsenic is an arsenic.
- 14:07SPEAKER_02: And if you need that,
- 14:09SPEAKER_02: you know,
- 14:09SPEAKER_02: you're taking the energetic frequency because that's a match
- 14:13SPEAKER_02: for what you're feeling right now.
- 14:15SPEAKER_02: So in that way,
- 14:17SPEAKER_02: I'm collecting a list of everything you need to be in balance and it does emotional
- 14:21SPEAKER_02: so what Bach flower essence what energetic signature of
- 14:26SPEAKER_02: an essential oil crystal affirmation the homeopathic remedies are so beautiful and
- 14:33SPEAKER_02: that they address physical as well as emotional and I just keep going
- 14:37SPEAKER_02: and getting deeper and deeper until
- 14:40SPEAKER_02: Your body says, I'm good.
- 14:42SPEAKER_02: Thanks.
- 14:42SPEAKER_02: That's enough.
- 14:43SPEAKER_02: I got enough.
- 14:44SPEAKER_02: So I have all of the things that you need to be in balance.
- 14:48SPEAKER_02: And so unlike the Rife machine where you pick a frequency,
- 14:53SPEAKER_02: I have a hundred or more frequencies and then I send them and charge them up.
- 14:59SPEAKER_02: I put them on the test plate of my device and I charge up a bottle of drops and some patches.
- 15:05SPEAKER_02: And then I put them in a box and send them to you.
- 15:08SPEAKER_02: and so now you have a custom homeopathic remedy.
- 15:12SPEAKER_02: You receive the frequencies while I was testing,
- 15:16SPEAKER_02: but you also get a remedy so that you can continue to remind yourself of what it is
- 15:21SPEAKER_02: to be in balance.
- 15:22SPEAKER_02: And then for report,
- 15:25SPEAKER_02: I write it up myself I type it
- 15:26SPEAKER_02: with my own fingers no computer export no AI it's like this is what I see
- 15:32SPEAKER_02: and I'm not going to tell you a hundred things you don't want
- 15:36SPEAKER_02: that you want my interpretation of what's going
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: on yeah definitely it's always nice not to have the a hundred things come
- 15:44SPEAKER_01: through right
- 15:46SPEAKER_01: but I understand what you mean you don't want your body doesn't necessarily need
- 15:50SPEAKER_01: everything all at once either sometimes it just needs a boost or an acknowledgement
- 15:55SPEAKER_01: You know,
- 15:55SPEAKER_01: sometimes if your shoulder's sore,
- 15:57SPEAKER_01: your shoulder just wants you to know that you've acknowledged that too.
- 15:59SPEAKER_01: Like, oh yes, thank you.
- 16:01SPEAKER_01: You're sore.
- 16:02SPEAKER_01: I don't actually need a frequency.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: You just need to notice that I'm sore and what's going on underneath here.
- 16:07SPEAKER_01: So I really love how you frame that,
- 16:09SPEAKER_01: Beth, and how you're not going to do everything all at once.
- 16:12SPEAKER_01: It's just whatever your body truly needs in that moment.
- 16:15SPEAKER_01: And I feel that comes back to where you started about,
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: you know, why aren't people listening more to their bodies and why aren't people
- 16:24SPEAKER_01: eating more intuitively or treating themselves more intuitively.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: I know I'm passionate about teaching people how to listen to their intuition more
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: because that's how I eat.
- 16:34SPEAKER_01: When you get to that point where you're listening to your body,
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: like I love going out because I order so quickly.
- 16:40SPEAKER_01: I just use my muscle testing of like,
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: what do I want off this menu today and what zone I want and it makes it really easy
- 16:47SPEAKER_01: because it's like actually I'm listening to what my body needs in this moment rather
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: than just defaulting to what I normally order yes yes that is so true so
- 16:57SPEAKER_02: when you start to listen
- 16:59SPEAKER_02: You start resolving things and your body wants to heal things.
- 17:03SPEAKER_02: It really does.
- 17:04SPEAKER_02: Those symptoms that are coming up,
- 17:06SPEAKER_02: they're signs, they're signals, and there's a method to how to do it.
- 17:11SPEAKER_02: And you can get there so many ways.
- 17:13SPEAKER_02: I just happen to have a tech aspect to it, but you can do it yourself.
- 17:19SPEAKER_02: You can figure it out by learning to self-muscle test.
- 17:22SPEAKER_02: You can work with someone who can do it for you because a lot of people at
- 17:25SPEAKER_02: the beginning don't trust themselves.
- 17:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, there's so many different ways and food is a great place to start.
- 17:32SPEAKER_02: The second place to start,
- 17:34SPEAKER_02: the second place to continue really is asking yourself,
- 17:38SPEAKER_02: well, what is this telling me?
- 17:41SPEAKER_02: Like you said, your shoulder hurts.
- 17:43SPEAKER_02: Why?
- 17:44SPEAKER_02: What are you trying to tell me?
- 17:46SPEAKER_02: and you'd be surprised at what comes up when you listen.
- 17:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: And sometimes you're like,
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: I wasn't listening to myself or,
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: and I think a lot of people,
- 17:56SPEAKER_01: if they're listening, they don't understand what we mean.
- 17:59SPEAKER_01: our body is like the biggest sign you know people talk about like numbers
- 18:03SPEAKER_01: and feathers and animals and that as spirit signs but your body is a walking sign so
- 18:09SPEAKER_01: if you're finding
- 18:10SPEAKER_01: that you have lower back problems who's not supporting you you know in your life
- 18:15SPEAKER_01: if your your shoulders are really tight how much weight are you taking on
- 18:18SPEAKER_01: from other people you know there's always these underlying
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: Emotions or kind of things.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: And often,
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 18:25SPEAKER_01: even my favorite but is it's funny favorite,
- 18:28SPEAKER_01: but it's like, why is someone stabbing me in the back?
- 18:31SPEAKER_01: Why do I feel like someone's stabbing me in your back?
- 18:33SPEAKER_01: Like you already know.
- 18:35SPEAKER_01: And this is like the really beautiful thing with that is that often we
- 18:40SPEAKER_01: When we start to ask those questions and we live in a world
- 18:42SPEAKER_01: where we can be more curious and like you're the Google,
- 18:46SPEAKER_01: Google doctor for health, right?
- 18:47SPEAKER_01: Or Google Maps for help.
- 18:48SPEAKER_01: No, it's doctor.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: We can't say doctor.
- 18:50SPEAKER_01: But you know, there is that aspect where you can go, what's the underlying meaning?
- 18:55SPEAKER_01: Or I say spiritual meaning.
- 18:57SPEAKER_01: I find that gets me the answer.
- 18:58SPEAKER_01: What's the spiritual meaning of a sore left shoulder?
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: And you can start to ask those deeper questions.
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: and go deeper.
- 19:04SPEAKER_01: So you don't have to always know all the answers.
- 19:07SPEAKER_01: We're at a world where we can just,
- 19:09SPEAKER_01: you know,
- 19:09SPEAKER_01: ask people or get the right support or just be curious and start to go deeper.
- 19:14SPEAKER_01: And if you can't shift that,
- 19:16SPEAKER_01: that is when you reach out to people like Beth or myself or whoever it might be.
- 19:21SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 19:22SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 19:23SPEAKER_02: Every single one of my clients has had an emotional connection to how they were feeling.
- 19:27SPEAKER_02: 100%.
- 19:29SPEAKER_02: There is an emotional reason why your hip hurts, why your liver is congested.
- 19:36SPEAKER_02: You need to take physical action, but emotional as well.
- 19:38SPEAKER_02: There's so many ways you can approach that.
- 19:41SPEAKER_02: You could do EFT tapping.
- 19:43SPEAKER_02: You could do hands-on healing.
- 19:44SPEAKER_02: You could just take a hike, go swimming.
- 19:48SPEAKER_02: If it's cold, you could take a snowy walk.
- 19:51SPEAKER_02: It's wherever, whatever you can do to get into what that feeling is.
- 19:59SPEAKER_02: Sometimes people approach healing from the emotional side
- 20:03SPEAKER_02: and other times people approach healing from the physical side.
- 20:06SPEAKER_02: But from what I've seen, you won't reach a full resolution until you eventually do both.
- 20:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, 100%.
- 20:15SPEAKER_01: Even, you know, if you're someone and you've broken your toe, ask why did you break your toe?
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: And people are like, oh, but it can be a coincidence.
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: There's a reason behind it.
- 20:24SPEAKER_01: I will tell you right now, if you start looking into that and then
- 20:29SPEAKER_01: If you get to that point that your body is screaming at you and then you go
- 20:33SPEAKER_01: into dis-ease,
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: you've been ignoring something for a long time for it to get to that point.
- 20:39SPEAKER_01: And often we do wait till we get to crisis before we actually start to do something
- 20:45SPEAKER_01: to counteract what's going on in our lives.
- 20:49SPEAKER_01: So I guess my big thing is here.
- 20:52SPEAKER_01: Don't let yourself get to crisis.
- 20:53SPEAKER_01: You know,
- 20:54SPEAKER_01: actually start paying attention when things start to feel uncomfortable rather than
- 20:59SPEAKER_01: when it gets too unbearable.
- 21:01SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 21:02SPEAKER_02: Right at the beginning.
- 21:04SPEAKER_02: My two things to look at are sleep.
- 21:07SPEAKER_02: Are you getting on?
- 21:08SPEAKER_02: You know,
- 21:08SPEAKER_02: we all have restless nights sometimes,
- 21:11SPEAKER_02: but on a regular basis, would you say generally you sleep well?
- 21:15SPEAKER_02: If you don't, you got to look into that.
- 21:18SPEAKER_02: And during the day, can you move around without any aches and pains?
- 21:23SPEAKER_02: If you're moving around and things hurt, don't let that go.
- 21:27SPEAKER_02: that's something to figure out yeah a hundred percent I so agree
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: and you know be curious be curious like oh why is my ankle suddenly hurting
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: but it didn't yesterday or you know why have I got a headache all of a sudden and
- 21:40SPEAKER_01: so many people will then go and numb the pain this is where I'm like please don't do
- 21:45SPEAKER_01: that you know taking in Australia we have Panadol I think Tylenol is the equivalent
- 21:50SPEAKER_01: in America and people just completely numb it
- 21:53SPEAKER_01: I'm like no like actually maybe you just need some salt for that headache
- 21:57SPEAKER_01: or maybe you know your neck's out of alignment
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: or there's always some other bigger thing and even my sister used to suffer
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: from migraines when she was younger I think she still does a little bit
- 22:07SPEAKER_01: but knowing you're as bad and I gave her lavender and peppermint oil and she said
- 22:13SPEAKER_01: and she would put it on and she goes you know
- 22:16SPEAKER_01: it takes the edge off way quicker like she goes and it can sometimes stop it getting
- 22:21SPEAKER_01: to that full blown migraine so she found a way to make it work for her
- 22:25SPEAKER_01: but she said sometimes she messaged me the other week and she said sometimes I'm in
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: a situation where I can't get to those things like she was in a meeting
- 22:33SPEAKER_01: and she felt it coming on
- 22:34SPEAKER_01: and she had nothing she just had you know her note notetaker
- 22:38SPEAKER_01: and she's like no you know I can feel it and then by the time she was able
- 22:42SPEAKER_01: to remediate it she did need to go back to
- 22:45SPEAKER_01: the other remedies but at the same time it's finding that balance of what works
- 22:50SPEAKER_01: for you too you know it's finding that you know don't automatically numb things
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: because it's more comfortable and allows you to keep going because
- 22:59SPEAKER_01: when you keep numbing things then your body will go numb and then the
- 23:03SPEAKER_01: the sign will just get louder and louder until it starts screaming at you as well
- 23:07SPEAKER_02: and really what happens is something else develops you take that medication it
- 23:13SPEAKER_02: really damages your liver.
- 23:15SPEAKER_02: And then something else happens and you say, oh, this is totally unrelated.
- 23:20SPEAKER_02: No, actually, if it's in your body, it's related.
- 23:24SPEAKER_02: It can't not be because you are only one body.
- 23:27SPEAKER_02: So I hear from, well,
- 23:29SPEAKER_02: I have this other thing and then totally separate is this thing like, it's together.
- 23:35SPEAKER_02: And if you don't know how the body works,
- 23:39SPEAKER_02: You don't know that until you don't see the connection and the downstream harm
- 23:43SPEAKER_02: that might be happening.
- 23:45SPEAKER_02: But the good news is you can reverse that.
- 23:47SPEAKER_02: You can make better choices starting right now.
- 23:50SPEAKER_02: You don't need to.
- 23:51SPEAKER_02: You can make one choice that is stepping away from perhaps poisoning your body.
- 23:57SPEAKER_01: and Choosing a Better Method yeah for me I remember my turning point at this moment
- 24:03SPEAKER_01: so I was already a little bit disillusioned with some medical advice
- 24:06SPEAKER_01: that I've been given over a certain incident
- 24:09SPEAKER_01: but I was like feeling this deeper pool like I started going to acupuncture
- 24:14SPEAKER_01: and I like then ended up finding a naturopath but the biggest thing
- 24:18SPEAKER_01: before I even found my naturopath was
- 24:21SPEAKER_01: I came home one day after going to this conference and I opened the cupboard
- 24:25SPEAKER_01: and saw all the disrupting hormone things and all the poison chemicals that were
- 24:30SPEAKER_01: under my kitchen sink.
- 24:32SPEAKER_01: So that's where I started.
- 24:33SPEAKER_01: I started by, first of all, okay, I don't
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: I can just clean with eucalyptus oil you know I'm like right I'm just gonna get rid
- 24:42SPEAKER_01: of all of this so I did and
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: then I was like all right now I'm gonna start my cupboards so then I started going
- 24:47SPEAKER_01: through all the ingredients in my cupboards if it had a number on it and
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: the number wasn't a safe number I had a little app you don't have
- 24:53SPEAKER_01: to know all these things there's apps these days you know I'm like nope nope nope
- 24:58SPEAKER_01: nope nope you know and then
- 25:00SPEAKER_01: you know you just start doing those shifts one at a time I went extreme I did it all
- 25:04SPEAKER_01: in the space of two days because I was I like when I'm in I'm all in you know but at
- 25:10SPEAKER_01: the same time I guess for people listening it's just start first of all listening
- 25:14SPEAKER_01: to your body and then second if there is things disrupting your life start
- 25:20SPEAKER_01: to make those changes you don't you don't have
- 25:22SPEAKER_01: to say oh it's too hard isn't it too hard to stay in pain or isn't it too hard to
- 25:28SPEAKER_01: Stay in the symptoms you have.
- 25:30SPEAKER_01: Isn't it easier just to throw out those sprays under your kitchen sink
- 25:34SPEAKER_01: and get something natural?
- 25:36SPEAKER_01: That's my feelings on it.
- 25:39SPEAKER_02: You'd be surprised how much that really is on your skin.
- 25:44SPEAKER_02: You inhale it.
- 25:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they're a little more damaging, all those scented things.
- 25:50SPEAKER_02: You don't need it.
- 25:51SPEAKER_02: So whatever your entry point is, I like to say there's lots of on-ramps.
- 25:55SPEAKER_02: You can get on the highway in any part you want,
- 25:59SPEAKER_02: but once you're on,
- 26:01SPEAKER_02: you will have new eyes and you will see this is how it should be
- 26:05SPEAKER_02: because you will notice.
- 26:07SPEAKER_02: You will notice what feels right to you and you will notice what is just not right
- 26:13SPEAKER_02: and you'll change out your laundry detergent and you'll change everything out.
- 26:17SPEAKER_02: My best thing is to cook dinner at home.
- 26:20SPEAKER_02: cook dinner at home with real ingredients once you do
- 26:23SPEAKER_02: that you'll you'll want fresh things because it will taste so good yeah
- 26:30SPEAKER_01: and I just had the image when you're talking about the freeway
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: then I was like yes Google Maps has an upgrade for your health
- 26:36SPEAKER_01: and now you're driving on the freeway and you actually have
- 26:39SPEAKER_01: the directions it's not getting lost
- 26:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 26:43SPEAKER_02: So all those packaging,
- 26:44SPEAKER_02: all that marketing,
- 26:45SPEAKER_02: they spend lots of money to think that green leaf on the box is going to be healthy.
- 26:50SPEAKER_02: Skip the box, go right to the market, get the vegetables, get it from the source.
- 26:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, 100%.
- 26:58SPEAKER_01: And as we start to finish our time together, Beth,
- 27:00SPEAKER_01: I asked the guests that come on the show,
- 27:02SPEAKER_01: if you could heal or change something in the world, what would it be?
- 27:06SPEAKER_02: I would heal each person's heart.
- 27:10SPEAKER_02: so that it was stronger.
- 27:12SPEAKER_02: And so each person could feel how precious and valuable and how much love each one
- 27:20SPEAKER_02: of us has inside.
- 27:22SPEAKER_02: Because if you felt that, that would be your first priority.
- 27:27SPEAKER_02: And when you have that self-love,
- 27:29SPEAKER_02: when you want to honor that heart that's in you,
- 27:33SPEAKER_02: that you know that you're a temple, it changes everything.
- 27:36SPEAKER_02: It changes how you treat yourself and it changes everything.
- 27:39SPEAKER_02: Now that you know everybody else has the same thing, it changes how you treat other people.
- 27:44SPEAKER_02: It would be beautiful.
- 27:45SPEAKER_02: 100%.
- 27:45SPEAKER_02: 100%.
- 27:46SPEAKER_01: And if people want to come and connect with you, Beth,
- 27:50SPEAKER_01: where's the best place they can come and find you or come and follow your work?
