(Gn.13:2,5-18; Ps.15:1-5; Mt.7:6,12-14;) “How narrow is the gate that leads to life, how rough the road, and how few there are who find it!” In our first reading today, the way Abram walks with God is contrasted with the path Lot chooses for himself. Though the road seems wide and clear, this gate leads to damnation, and indeed, as our gospel states, is one which is chosen by the traveler himself; whereas the narrow path is one which is found in God.
