Hegseth to announce new purge at Pentagon as war drags on: report
What happened
RawStory reports that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth plans to announce a 20 percent reduction in positions reserved for generals and admirals, doubling the 10 percent overall reduction he ordered in May 2025. Pentagon officials told The Wall Street Journal that the armed services would have until Jan. 1, 2027, to complete the new cuts.
