- 0:15SPEAKER_01: What is going on, sports minds?
- 0:18SPEAKER_01: It's your boy MJ coming at you with another episode of the Fancy Fumble.
- 0:23SPEAKER_01: And I have my host here with the most Joe the Birdman.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: Joe, how the hell are you doing today, brother?
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: I'm doing great, manny.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: It's a beautiful night.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: It feels like winter outside.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: And in fantasy football, man, I'm just plodding along as usual.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: Um, upsetting a couple people in the Champions League, just to, even though my hopes are dashed, still having fun.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: And every other league, like I said, just rolling forward.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: How about you?
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: How are your teams looking?
- 0:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm I'm I'm in the middle of the pack right now.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: I don't really like to make a lot of waves and dominate early on.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: Because uh, if your players dominate early on, that means they're gonna be you know in a hump the second half of the season.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: Because, you know, at the end of the day, fantasy football is like the stock market.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: You got your ups and downs, you know.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: So overall, I'm doing pretty good.
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: Have a couple bad leagues, and I just played spoiler on a couple guys this past week.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: So we'll see if I can maybe sneak in there.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: I might take a seventh, uh, seventh spot.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: Who knows?
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: It's anybody's game.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: But uh, that's what I love about fantasy football.
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: It's unpredictable.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: You could go on a run, someone could get injured, and you have that magic backup, or you got that waiver priority that allows you to move up, uh, and you might actually make a really good run.
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: So it's anybody's game.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: And there's a lot of buys coming up.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: You gotta always be building your team, gotta prepare.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: And you never know, you know, just in two, three games, everything can completely get flipped upside down.
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: And we'll definitely tell you how to take advantage of those waiver wires, but first, a word from our sponsors.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: Hey there.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: My name is Manny James Gonzalez with PRB, and I'm a real estate agent here in Central Florida.
- 2:08SPEAKER_01: I'm a U.S.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: Navy veteran, military relocation pro, and big supporter of 2A and veterans' rights.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: My specialty is VA transactions.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: I'm also experienced in all parts of real estate.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: I've been living in Florida for over 20 years, and I can tell you we still believe in freedom down here.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: One of the greatest job markets, excellent economy, and no state income tax.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: When it comes to an agent, you want one that's gonna be honest, not afraid of a fight, and most importantly, willing to do the things that some agents aren't willing to do.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: And what's that, Manny?
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: Choose straight, Dan.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: If you're ever considering buying in Central Florida, you need somebody you can trust, and I got your six.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: I'm Manny James Gonzalez, buying land for the free and home for the brave.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: Welcome back, ballers.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: Now let's get into some news and notes.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: We actually don't have a lot of news going into this week, but one major thing that I'd like to discuss is the return of Isaiah Pacheco.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: I'm not exactly sure what's gonna happen between him and Kareem Hunt, and I keep going back and forth about that, whether or not it's gonna be Pacheco's backfield as soon as he's ready to roll, or if that's gonna be more of a committee just because Kareem Hunt is playing so well.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: You what do you think is going on with all that?
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: You know, Joe, I'm glad you bring that up because this is something I've been thinking about uh for a while now.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: I actually wasn't even aware that uh Pacheco was actually back at practice.
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: I did stash him in one league, somebody dropped them, which was crazy because it wasn't season ending.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: So I appreciate that that amateur for dropping them.
- 4:03SPEAKER_01: You never drop a player.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you can at least trade him, you know.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, exactly.
- 4:07SPEAKER_01: There's somebody that's willing to hold out for him, right?
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: Which was me.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: Um, so I did pick him up, and I think that ultimately it's gonna end up being uh Pacheco's backfield eventually as a committee.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: Uh, but it's gonna start off for the next several weeks as uh Kareem hunts, just the way he is now, he's gonna be running it, maybe a little bit less carries, a few to Pacheco to get him kind of warmed up again.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: And then once he's 100% or 90% ready to go, then you see it flip, which should probably be around fantasy playoff time.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: So if you have them, keep that in mind, because that's probably gonna be the trend that they follow.
- 4:44SPEAKER_01: So if if you're at you already had your trade deadline, sorry, but if you haven't, this would be a good time to make a move for one or the other so that you can play them at the right time.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's a great call.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: Try to get them on the same team if you don't have them already.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: And and I would say just based on the fact that Kareem Hunt really wasn't expected to be on anyone's roster this year, the chances are if you have Pacheco, you don't have Kareem Hunt.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: He's probably mixed up onto another team, so make some moves.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: But yeah, I've I've been going back and forth.
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: I really don't know what to expect, but I think you probably do have the best idea of how it's gonna work out, where for at least a couple weeks, Kareem Hunt's gonna take the reins or continue um as the lead back, and then eventually, maybe three or four weeks from now, Pacheco is gonna take over and Kareem Hunt will take a back seat, but we'll see because you know Kareem Hunt's been playing very well.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: He has indeed.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: And not too many people are in are on the injury report this week, which is great news.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna run down the people this week that did not practice on Wednesday at running back, Tank Bigsby and Najee Harris did not practice at wide receiver, Tyree Kill, Keon Coleman, and Devontae Adams, all three of them did not practice.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: And um, what's strange about that, they all have wrist injuries.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: Um, Amari Cooper was also limited today with a wrist injury, but it I don't know if it's just me.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: It seems like it's weird to have so many wrist injuries among wide receivers, but it could be something I just wasn't looking at before.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: There's something in the air, yes, sure is.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: Um now at tight end, uh George Kittle, Sam Laporta, Noah Fant, and Dalton Kincaid.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: They all did not practice on Wednesday.
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: And at quarterback, quarterback Trevor Lawrence has been ruled out already for week 11 with a shoulder injury, and they're saying it could be a long-term injury.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: So keep an eye on that.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: Definitely not playing this week, though.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: And um, you know, if you're rostering him, you're probably struggling at quarterback already, so your options aren't gonna be too much worse.
- 6:57SPEAKER_01: That indeed you should have made plays.
- 7:00SPEAKER_01: Um definitely made some trades.
- 7:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but uh as far as uh uh notes, since there's uh not many other injuries, this injury of Popula seems to have taken a week off, so that's a good thing.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: Let's hope it takes two uh or me or more here.
- 7:17SPEAKER_01: Um, some player highlights, since there's not really much waiver wire pickups right now, it's it's skin and bones, and the bones have been picked clean.
- 7:25SPEAKER_01: So uh if you manage if you manage to pick up uh any additions over the last few weeks, you would know that uh some of those guys were named like Ricky Pearsall, uh Quentin Johnston.
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: Uh those are guys that are excellent starts coming up here as flex guys, um, due to bye weeks, due to injuries, uh, due to uncertainty on the team.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: For example, I would play Ricky Pearsall over Tyreek Hill this week and not even bat an eye.
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: Like if I had that decision, you know.
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: So that's what I'm looking at.
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: But um, you know, there's those are some players I would like to highlight.
- 8:01SPEAKER_01: Uh Ricky Pearsall obviously is playing against Seattle Seahawks.
- 8:04SPEAKER_01: They're one of the uh top 10 worst-ranked past defenses this year, even though they have like stud cornerbacks, I don't freaking get it.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: Uh that's been happening with a handful of teams.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: I mean, we heard the same thing about Baltimore's defense, you know, that they're gonna be one of the best secondaries, and those guys are just shit in the bed.
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they are, and they have a top safety too, Kyle Hamilton, number one safety in the league.
- 8:27SPEAKER_01: But um uh basically, yeah, I think that overall he's gonna have a big day.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: Ricky Pearsall's gonna feast.
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: If you watch him, he's very Cooper Cup-ish.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: And I don't say that just because he's a white receiver, but his style, he's very uh technical, he runs great routes, he has great strong hands, and he's super quick on his cuts.
- 8:48SPEAKER_01: So exactly like Cooper Cup, you know, and he has a big frame, six foot two, two hundred-pound guy.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: Like he's not a small guy, so he's taking the licks, he's playing smart football, and he's gonna get open.
- 9:00SPEAKER_01: And then, of course, Quentin Johnston, um, wide receiver, he's he's a big guy too, 6'2, 205, not really big, but long, and uh, he has a long stride, he gets open a lot.
- 9:11SPEAKER_01: Uh, of course, Herbert likes to throw the deep ball a lot, so they've they've been connecting pretty often.
- 9:18SPEAKER_01: So, just some guys I really like as far as starts for the week here.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I I think those guys are both um, I would say they're probably available in about half of ESPN league, so it's it's worth checking to see if they're on your wire.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: And I mean, if you've got a receiver that, you know, for instance, I was holding Jalen Tolbert for a couple weeks, and I dropped him in two leagues, one to pick up Quentin Johnson, the other to pick up Ricky Pearsall.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: I mean, there's just times where you got to make decisions, like, yeah, this guy's had some good games in the past, but what has he done recently?
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: So you got to cut the fat, you gotta make moves.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: As we were just saying, you got to continue building your team all the way to the playoffs so that by the time you get to the playoffs, you don't have to make any other moves.
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: You've got a solid squad to start and a solid bench as a backup.
- 10:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, absolutely agreed.
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: Now let's get into our hot matchups of the week.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: Oh boy, it's getting hot in her.
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: Now, my first hot matchup is the Seahawks versus the 49ers.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: Both teams are fighting for a playoff spot right now and almost back to full health.
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: When these teams played in week six, the final score was 49ers 36, Seahawks 24.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: In that game, the 49ers had nearly 500 total yards.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: And Seattle currently leads the NFL in passing yards per game, so expect a lot of offense in this game.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: As we were just talking about, the 49ers.
- 11:03unknown: What happened?
- 11:05SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry, man.
- 11:06SPEAKER_01: I realized I was going off on Pearson.
- 11:08SPEAKER_01: This is your hot matchup.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I was just gonna I was just gonna talk about that.
- 11:12SPEAKER_01: Uh go ahead.
- 11:13SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: No, it just really relates pretty well.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: Purdy has been great all season, and even with a stable of injured players, he seems to be continuing to play well and finding the end zone.
- 11:25SPEAKER_00: Right now, it appears that the wide receivers Debo, Jennings, and Ricky Pearsall will be at full health going into this game.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: As you know, the last couple weeks there were injuries with Debo and Jennings was banged up as well, but they both seem to be back at full health.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: And if you look at the last game, the ball was evenly spread between the three of them.
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: And of course, you got Christian McCaffrey, who should be back to 100% as well.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: I think they were kind of easing him in to a workload last week where he still had a good game.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: But this week, I think they're just gonna take off the reins and let him loose against a weak Seattle defense.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: And the only 49er we're not sure about yet is George Kittle, who is currently the number one tight end in fantasy.
- 12:09SPEAKER_00: And the Niners D has been really good, but I believe Geno Smith and the Seahawks are gonna play hard and make some big plays.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: DK Metcalf should be ready to go after the bye last week.
- 12:21SPEAKER_00: He got to rest.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: I know he was banged up and missed a couple weeks, but JSN and Lockett have been great in recent weeks too.
- 12:29SPEAKER_00: And Kenneth Walker has been consistent all season.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: And although they may, although they may have some difficulty against the Niners, I think they're all still gonna have a solid double-digit day.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: So both sides of that game expect a lot of offense, just like the first time they played each other in week six.
- 12:49SPEAKER_01: Agreed.
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: I have no further commentary.
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna be a dead horse.
- 12:54SPEAKER_01: You you hit the nail on the head.
- 12:55SPEAKER_00: We talked that you know, we talked about Pearsall a lot already, but seriously, all three of those guys are are guys I would be confident starting this week.
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: All three of the Niners wide receivers.
- 13:06SPEAKER_00: And I'm not so confident on Debo.
- 13:10SPEAKER_00: We did say this off screen, so let's just say it on screen.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: We were both saying, like, we have more confidence in Ricky Pearsall and Juwan Jennings than Debo right now, and it's just because of the inconsistency.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: I know that Jennings has been a little inconsistent, but that was due to other players taking his targets and injuries.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: When that guy's 100 and Ricky Pearsall's 100%, it feels like they're just more consistent, we're or going to are going to be more consistent than we've seen from Debo.
- 13:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:41SPEAKER_01: And my comment is uh watching them play, like just watching the skill set.
- 13:45SPEAKER_01: Debo is like, I'm gonna muscle through you, but he's gotten to a point, you know, as far as like route running, he'll muscle through you, he'll get open on like these these gadget plays and all that, but it seems like he's not really picking up the speed like he has been.
- 14:00SPEAKER_01: He's he doesn't seem to be a hundred percent.
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: So I think that because of that, he's getting hammered in the backfield.
- 14:06SPEAKER_01: I don't know if you watch him play.
- 14:07SPEAKER_01: So because of that, I think that he's not as sharp, and therefore I'd rather play Ricky Pearsall for the rest of the year over Debo.
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: Just because I know what kind of ceiling I'm getting with him.
- 14:17SPEAKER_01: Actually, no, what kind of floor I'm getting with him, and the ceiling could be a lot higher because if he's playing in that Brandon IU type of role, I mean, we seen Brandon Ayuk go off last year as a complimentary receiver, and I think Ricky Pearsall, because he has that Cooper Cup type of skill set, could definitely complement the 49ers passing offense with George Kittle in the middle, you know, McCaffrey running it under in the flats, and then him just hitting the corners and the outs, you know.
- 14:46SPEAKER_01: So that that can be that explosive for them.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: And what you just mentioned about Debo being a gadget player, that role has has decreased since McCaffrey joined the Niners.
- 14:57SPEAKER_00: You know, it's he was kind of an anomaly that one year when he was basically one of the highest, one of the top running backs and receivers in the league, just because they were using him on every play.
- 15:07SPEAKER_00: You know, he does still have those that gadget role in the Niners offense, but it's decreased a lot.
- 15:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's also more predictable now.
- 15:17SPEAKER_01: Seems like teams are sniffing it out early, and they're just freaking hammering him every time he gets it, which I'm happy to see because he shit talked my Eagles.
- 15:25SPEAKER_01: So I take it personal.
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: I know you do.
- 15:30SPEAKER_01: Now, who's your hot matchup this week?
- 15:32SPEAKER_01: Uh for my hot matchup, I gotta look this up here.
- 15:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, do you have any doubts that it would be versus the commanders?
- 15:46SPEAKER_01: I mean, the two division leaders right now.
- 15:48SPEAKER_01: Well, the Eagles are the division leaders, the commanders are sniffing our ball sack.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: Uh, number one, number two, we're seven and two, they're seven and three.
- 15:56SPEAKER_01: Don't get it twisted.
- 15:57SPEAKER_01: They're an amazing team.
- 15:58SPEAKER_01: Jaden Daniels is an amazing quarterback.
- 16:01SPEAKER_01: Him and Terry McRawren have had a connection all year long.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: It's been awesome.
- 16:05SPEAKER_01: Uh, running backs, it doesn't matter if it's Austin Eckler or Brian Robinson Jr.
- 16:09SPEAKER_01: back there, or Jeremy McNichols, or frickin' Robin Rodriguez, whatever the guy's name is, the fourth streamer, they're getting in there, they're getting touchdowns, man.
- 16:20SPEAKER_01: So um the commanders just have an awesome offense, and uh defense is you know hit or miss.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: So I won't give them any credit there.
- 16:30SPEAKER_01: But then on the Eagles side, we've been clicking finally on offense.
- 16:34SPEAKER_01: You know, we have our tight end back Goddard, so he's solid in the middle.
- 16:37SPEAKER_01: But then obviously having AJ Brown, Devontae Smith is is uh cheat code in football, right?
- 16:43SPEAKER_01: Because they're they're just so good.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: Um as long as Jalen Hurts is throwing the ball right, we're good.
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: And then the defense has been really stepping up lately.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: We've been uh ranked in the top five in all categories defensive efficiency-wise, uh, for the past three or four games.
- 17:01SPEAKER_01: Granted, the teams we beat up on weren't really you know the best teams in the league, but hey, you know, that's football, right?
- 17:08SPEAKER_01: It's a game of momentum.
- 17:09SPEAKER_01: So um at the end of the day, we're playing hot, uh, and we're gonna go ahead and, you know, I think it's gonna come down to one possession.
- 17:18SPEAKER_01: I don't think we're gonna beat them by much, but the the overall point total they have it at is 48 and a half.
- 17:24SPEAKER_01: I definitely think that you're gonna see probably like a 60-point game between the Eagles and the Commanders here.
- 17:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that wouldn't surprise me at all.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: And just to echo what you're saying, I mean, the Eagles defense has been great in in all categories, as you mentioned, and the commanders' defense has been good, inconsistent, but okay.
- 17:44SPEAKER_00: Uh, but there's just too many weapons on the field to make this a low-scoring game, in my opinion.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: And and they're both both teams have seven wins because, you know, mostly because of their offense, and they're both back to full health now, too.
- 17:59SPEAKER_00: I mean, the Eagles are dealing with a lot of injuries, and the commanders were a little banged up for a few weeks, too.
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: They're both back to full health.
- 18:07SPEAKER_00: Expect some fireworks for sure.
- 18:11SPEAKER_00: Now, to get into our honorable mentions this week, I'm gonna kick things off with the Texans versus the Cowboys.
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: The Texans are all healthy again, and Stroud needs a bounce back game.
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: And the same applies for the Dallas Cowboys.
- 18:29SPEAKER_00: Even without Dak, they need a bounce back game.
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: I'm not exactly sure what they're gonna do at quarterback if it's gonna be Cooper Rush this week, but CeeDee Lamb has been inconsistent, he needs more consistency.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: We need Rico Dowdle to prove to everyone that he's the guy over there, and he has looked good in recent weeks, but we need him to look great, and we need CeeDee Lamb to look great because it's still unpredictable at this point.
- 18:54SPEAKER_00: You don't know what to expect from either of those guys.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: But these are two high-powered offenses, and on the Texans side of the field, Stroud has had he's been struggling for about a month now, but he's also been without Nico Collins and Stefan Diggs.
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: He should have Nico Collins back, so he's gonna have Nico Collins, he's gonna have Tank Dell, and of course, Joe Mixon, who's been unbelievable all season.
- 19:18SPEAKER_00: So expect that game to be a high-scoring affair.
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: I know the Texans defense has looked really good, but if the Cowboys are trying to catch up, then you're gonna see some points on that side of the field, too.
- 19:32SPEAKER_01: As an Eagles fan, I like seeing the Cowboys suffer, but um, I don't think it's gonna be for very long for CD.
- 19:38SPEAKER_01: Uh, so that should be a good game for him, even though the Texans defense is pretty good.
- 19:43SPEAKER_01: Um, and then the the Texans side, obviously, getting Nico Collins back would be a big boost to them.
- 19:49SPEAKER_01: Um, if he does play, otherwise, it's gonna be Tank Dell and um who else do they have there?
- 19:55SPEAKER_01: Uh John Menchie, uh the third.
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: I just don't know.
- 19:59SPEAKER_01: That's uh yeah, that's the guy who caught the touchdown later on.
- 20:03SPEAKER_01: He he actually battled Leukemia and uh apparently is in remission.
- 20:07SPEAKER_01: That's why he missed his rookie season of the NFL.
- 20:09SPEAKER_01: So he's actually.
- 20:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, I love James Conner.
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: Took a year off of football and did it.
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: Here's the thing, too, not to get totally off track, but he actually also missed the last year of college because he tore his ACL.
- 20:30SPEAKER_01: So he was out first year rookie season for the NFL because of leukemia, missed the last year of college for an ACL, but before that, he was balling out for Nick Saban at the Alabama Crimson Tide.
- 20:43SPEAKER_01: So he was actually there with all these guys, right?
- 20:45SPEAKER_01: With uh Jalen Waddell and all these guys when they had that elite receiver group, and he was like the fifth best receiver there, you know.
- 20:52SPEAKER_01: So that tells you what you know what kind of talent, you know, he was coming in.
- 20:57SPEAKER_01: So uh, but when he did play, he was a stud, man.
- 21:00SPEAKER_01: Him and Jameson Williams were playing together.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: So very good guy.
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: So you always root for those guys.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: But um obviously Joe Mixon, you you hit the nail on the head.
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: The guy's a stud.
- 21:10SPEAKER_01: He's a freaking horse.
- 21:11SPEAKER_01: The guy just gallops and just trucks people and has some amazing plays.
- 21:15SPEAKER_01: Reminds me a lot of um what's the Jamal Lewis back in the day?
- 21:21SPEAKER_01: Like he he just like runs, like runs into people, runs them over a little bit, and just like just has a really nice juke and stiff arm.
- 21:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't know.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: It's a very good combination, anyways.
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: That's for those throwback fans out there who know who Jamal Lewis is from the Ravens.
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I was just trying to picture.
- 21:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I thought it was the Ravens.
- 21:40SPEAKER_01: I was just trying to picture him.
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: He was with them for the uh for the 2000s, and then he went to the Browns after that, finished his career.
- 21:48SPEAKER_01: But uh Jamal Lewis, uh very good running back for the Ravens.
- 21:53SPEAKER_01: He was there with Ray Lewis.
- 21:55SPEAKER_01: Fucking love Ray Lewis, but now for For my honorable mention, uh, I have the Chiefs versus the Bills.
- 22:08SPEAKER_01: This game is gonna be electric.
- 22:11SPEAKER_01: Who gives a crap about Taylor Swift?
- 22:13SPEAKER_01: I'm a I'm a Swifty because my my daughter made me big time Swifties in my house.
- 22:19SPEAKER_01: But let me tell you, I hate what Taylor Swift is doing to football.
- 22:22SPEAKER_01: But did it be a distraction from how great this game is gonna be?
- 22:26SPEAKER_01: Josh Allen coming back.
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: Isn't it gonna be in Kansas City too?
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: It's in K.
- 22:32SPEAKER_01: I bet you it's in KC.
- 22:34SPEAKER_01: Regardless of what it is, it's gonna be a high-scoring game.
- 22:38SPEAKER_01: You're gonna be having a oh thank goodness.
- 22:41SPEAKER_01: Buffalo, so that's gonna be good.
- 22:43SPEAKER_01: So you know, Mahomes' gonna bring his A game.
- 22:46SPEAKER_01: Josh Allen hopefully is gonna bring his A game, and they're just gonna go at each other's throats, swing for swing.
- 22:52SPEAKER_01: So I I'm gonna have I'm gonna recommend people play Khalil Shakir, play James Cook.
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: Obviously, Josh Allen, if Dalton Kincaid starts, you know, play him.
- 23:02SPEAKER_01: If if he's out, Dawson Knox is a sneaky tight end play.
- 23:06SPEAKER_01: If you have a bye week this week or if you have an injury.
- 23:09SPEAKER_01: Um, but on the other side, obviously, having uh Chiefs, um Patrick Mahomes hasn't been a strong start this year, but we mentioned Kareem Hunt, you know, earlier in the segment.
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: He's gonna be a really good start, obviously.
- 23:23SPEAKER_01: Um Xavier Worthy has fallen off the fantasy radar.
- 23:26SPEAKER_01: He had that coming out game, game one, and then he's just been invisible ever since.
- 23:31SPEAKER_01: So um, but DeAndre Hopkins has looked good, so definitely start him.
- 23:38SPEAKER_01: Um, and then uh pretty much Kelsey is gonna be a no-brainer, right?
- 23:42SPEAKER_01: So he he's getting back to his flow of things, he's getting open, he's he's he's smooth again.
- 23:48SPEAKER_01: So you're gonna see those guys pretty much go at each other's throats, and it's gonna be a fun game to watch.
- 23:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and I heard Juju's coming back this week, too.
- 23:57SPEAKER_00: But even if he plays, you got to give it a week or at a minimum a week.
- 24:01SPEAKER_00: I would say probably two weeks to make sure he's actually producing because I think DeAndre Hopkins was brought in for a reason, and I have no idea if the Juju injury had anything to do with that, but that's their number one wide receiver now.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: It's pretty clear.
- 24:15SPEAKER_00: He got the targets last week, he just didn't get a touchdown.
- 24:18SPEAKER_00: Other than that, you got Kelsey.
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: I would wait a couple weeks to see what Juju does before you get too excited about that.
- 24:24SPEAKER_00: I got excited after Juju had that big game, but right now, given the situation, and Kelsey and Hopkins being the top two receivers, I'm gonna sit on Juju.
- 24:34SPEAKER_00: But I agree with everything else you said.
- 24:35SPEAKER_00: You're gonna have uh two of the best teams in the NFL, 9-0 and 8-2, playing each other.
- 24:41SPEAKER_00: That's gonna be an awesome game.
- 24:43SPEAKER_00: That could be the best game of the week.
- 24:46SPEAKER_01: Could be, very well, could be.
- 24:49SPEAKER_01: Now it's time for our cold calls of the week.
- 24:56unknown: So cold in here.
- 24:58SPEAKER_01: It's time for our cold call of the week, bitch.
- 25:03SPEAKER_01: All right, man, who's your cold call of the week?
- 25:06SPEAKER_01: All right, so for our cold call of the week, I'm gonna say if it's brown, flush it down, baby.
- 25:11SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be the Cleveland Browns going at the New Orleans Aints.
- 25:20SPEAKER_01: Obviously, Derek Carr looking like a total uh bust right now.
- 25:26SPEAKER_01: He is just busting.
- 25:29SPEAKER_01: And he's I mean, he's throwing touchdowns, yeah, but he's he's getting his receivers hurt, man.
- 25:34SPEAKER_01: That's that's the shit that Michael Thomas was talking about, man.
- 25:37SPEAKER_01: Right now, Michael Thomas isn't on a team because they paint, you know, he's kind of Antonio Brown-esque in his personality, but he he was a big criticizer of Derek Carr and how he led receivers, and that's what got you know Chris Olave busted up for that um concussion this past play, and it also uh led Shaheed to get hurt.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: Not trying to they're they're seriously depleted at wide receiver, yeah.
- 26:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but but I'm surprised they haven't signed Michael Thomas, but uh, but regardless, um, I just don't think that outside of Alvin Kamar, you're not gonna want to start anybody there, you know.
- 26:15SPEAKER_01: Like you're gonna play Alvin Kamar on the Saints side, on the Brown side, like who are you gonna play?
- 26:20SPEAKER_01: Jameis Winston, Elijah Moore?
- 26:23SPEAKER_01: Like, those aren't starts I like.
- 26:25SPEAKER_01: I don't even like, you know, feel comfortable starting Nick Chubb, you know, because how how much of a you know, uh the Saints defense is actually respectable.
- 26:34SPEAKER_01: So is he really gonna get his, you know, is he gonna be the same Nick Chubb one year after tearing an ACL?
- 26:40SPEAKER_01: So that's my dilemma with that game.
- 26:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, one guy I do like on the Browns a lot.
- 26:46SPEAKER_00: Well, actually, there's there's two guys I like on the Browns.
- 26:49SPEAKER_00: Um, and I did mention Elijah Moore as a possible, just a guy to keep your eye on.
- 26:54SPEAKER_00: But David Njoku and Cedric Tillman have had three solid weeks in a row since the quarterback change.
- 27:02SPEAKER_00: So I think both of those guys are definitely worth a start.
- 27:06SPEAKER_00: They're not gonna put up crazy numbers, but they'll get you double digits at a minimum because, well, based on the last three games, they should get you double digits at a minimum.
- 27:15SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, man, I was just looking at the same Saints depth chart, and I really don't know who else I would play outside of Alan Alvin Kamara because I mean, maybe like I'm doing in one league, Taysom Hill.
- 27:31SPEAKER_01: Uh yeah, I like Taysom.
- 27:33SPEAKER_00: Because my you know, my tight end's on a bye.
- 27:36SPEAKER_00: Um, it's uh Trey McBride's on a bye, so I'm playing Taysom Hill, and we're discussing a trade as well.
- 27:41SPEAKER_00: But yeah, Taysom Hill is always a risky play, but he can be one of those guys that'll that'll get you double digits on certain weeks.
- 27:48SPEAKER_00: And um, he has been involved in the past and the run game, so you could roll the dice on Taysom.
- 27:54SPEAKER_00: I would be okay with that.
- 27:56SPEAKER_00: I am playing Cedric Tillman in one league, um, and David Njoku in another league.
- 28:01SPEAKER_00: But again, those guys are gonna get you probably around 15 points, which is great as a tight end or a flex play.
- 28:07SPEAKER_00: Um, but that game as a whole will probably be very low scoring.
- 28:11SPEAKER_01: What's your cold call, Joe?
- 28:14SPEAKER_00: Um, my cold call may surprise some people, but there's very good reasoning behind it.
- 28:23SPEAKER_00: I have the Steelers versus the Ravens.
- 28:29SPEAKER_00: It's kind of funny because for the last two weeks in a row, I had the Ravens in my hot matchup, and they have indeed been on fire, specifically this year with Derrick Henry.
- 28:40SPEAKER_00: I understand.
- 28:42SPEAKER_00: Um, and the Steelers have looked good on offense too, and the Ravens secondary has been really bad.
- 28:48SPEAKER_00: So when you look at the just this year specifically, it sounds like the recipe for another hot matchup, but for some reason, and I'm talking about in pretty much every past year, none of that matters when these two teams face each other.
- 29:06SPEAKER_00: It applies to almost every game, no matter what the circumstances may be.
- 29:11SPEAKER_00: But I just want to take you down the road of the last five games.
- 29:16SPEAKER_00: So in December of 2021, it was the Steelers 20 and the Ravens 19.
- 29:22SPEAKER_00: January of 2022, Steelers 16, Ravens 13, December of 2022, Ravens 16, Steelers 14, January of 2023, Steelers 16, Ravens 13, October of 2023, Steelers 17, Ravens 10.
- 29:40SPEAKER_00: So the last five games has been all in the teens except for December 2021 when the Steelers got 20.
- 29:48SPEAKER_00: These teams are just out for blood when the defenses take the field.
- 29:54SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's every single year.
- 29:55SPEAKER_00: So you need to lower your expectations on offense.
- 29:59SPEAKER_00: And I believe the defense for both Pittsburgh and Baltimore will have a big day, but it's just something about when these teams play each other that they really shut down the offense.
- 30:09SPEAKER_00: And even with Derrick Henry and Zay Flowers and Lamar Jackson, I think the Steelers are going to come out with clenched teeth, clenched fists, and just go fucking nuts.
- 30:18SPEAKER_00: I could even see the Steelers upsetting the Ravens.
- 30:21SPEAKER_00: I mean, they're they're both playing really well this year, but I could even see them upsetting the Ravens and winning this game.
- 30:29SPEAKER_01: And um it's uh definitely a big balls cold call there for sure, Joe.
- 30:35SPEAKER_01: Um, say that that would be a low scoring affair.
- 30:39SPEAKER_01: But when you pulled out those numbers, I didn't actually know that because at least four of those games were Lamar Jackson games, or at least six, right?
- 30:46SPEAKER_01: They were started by Lamar Jackson, so yeah, so so him him getting shut down like that it is surprising.
- 30:54SPEAKER_01: Um but looking at the the teams this year, I'm gonna say that I I like the way because the the dimension that Russell Wilson brings to them and the fact that Baltimore's been getting their ass beat on the on the deep ball, I could see the Steelers matching the scoring that the Ravens are gonna do.
- 31:12SPEAKER_01: Because I think that no NFL team is able to stop the the Ravens rushing attack, right?
- 31:18SPEAKER_01: Um that as long as they're passing is clicking, right?
- 31:22SPEAKER_01: So that's the thing.
- 31:23SPEAKER_01: So if the Steelers bring their A game defensively as far as secondary, they could definitely shut down the Ravens because that means they're TJ Watt's gonna be able to just uh go ham on them.
- 31:34SPEAKER_01: But um that overall, I I still think that Ravens uh might still have a strong day, though.
- 31:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and that and that could very well be the case.
- 31:44SPEAKER_00: I'm just saying with these teams, yeah, like you were saying, Lamar has been the quarterback for many years, and the Steelers obviously made a significant change at quarterback um with Justin Fields and Russell Wilson.
- 31:56SPEAKER_00: Russell Wilson's gonna be the starter, and clearly Baltimore made a huge change by putting um Derrick Henry as the lead running back.
- 32:05SPEAKER_00: So I know those two major changes could significantly change this game.
- 32:09SPEAKER_00: There's just a mindset when you're playing the biggest rival, and and these two D these two teams historically have unbelievable defenses, they're known as defensive teams.
- 32:19SPEAKER_00: So when you bring that to the table and just kind of the vibe that these two teams bring to the field when they play each other, it could get real fucking nasty and become a defensive battle.
- 32:32SPEAKER_00: I could be wrong, and this could just be Russell Wilson lighting up the secondary and Baltimore just running it down the Steelers' throat.
- 32:39SPEAKER_00: That could easily happen too.
- 32:41SPEAKER_00: But I'm kind of going with my heart and vibing on the defense for this one.
- 32:45SPEAKER_01: All right, I feel that.
- 32:49SPEAKER_00: Now let's get into our shit calls of the week.
- 33:08SPEAKER_00: The game was exciting, but not for Baker and Cade.
- 33:12SPEAKER_00: It was all Rashad White and Bucky Irving.
- 33:15SPEAKER_00: So, you know, based on what we've seen from Baker throughout the entire season and from what we've what we've seen from Cade Autten over the last three weeks, he still got the targets, but the production wasn't there, and the game for both of them was a dud.
- 33:31SPEAKER_01: I get that we can't we can't always be right, guys.
- 33:34SPEAKER_01: 79% of the time, we're right every time.
- 33:37SPEAKER_01: All right, guys.
- 33:39SPEAKER_01: That's how it works there.
- 33:40SPEAKER_01: Now for my shit call of the week.
- 33:45SPEAKER_01: I went with uh calling the Eagles versus the Cowboys game last week as uh gonna be a hot matchup.
- 33:52SPEAKER_01: Let me tell you, it was hot for the Eagles, baby.
- 33:55SPEAKER_01: We were smoking.
- 33:56SPEAKER_01: I mean, we scored 34 points on that ass.
- 33:59SPEAKER_01: I mean, Saquon Barkley went off.
- 34:02SPEAKER_01: Uh uh AJ Brown had an okay day.
- 34:04SPEAKER_01: Devontae Smith had a zero day.
- 34:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, actually, he got three points, but uh, you know, single-digit day.
- 34:10SPEAKER_01: Uh Jalen Hurts had a great day, and and but obviously uh it was overall a good day for Eagles offense, most of them.
- 34:18SPEAKER_01: Um on Cowboys' side, they only had six points.
- 34:21SPEAKER_01: Um, it was horrible.
- 34:23SPEAKER_01: They didn't show up, they got shut down.
- 34:25SPEAKER_01: Uh Eagles just embarrassed, uh, just dog walked that ass and and and just showed no mercy.
- 34:32SPEAKER_01: Um, and it was uh it was beautiful to watch me be wrong.
- 34:37SPEAKER_01: I mean, when you're wrong like that, folks, it doesn't feel wrong, it feels so right, okay?
- 34:42SPEAKER_01: Just watching them get their ass beat.
- 34:44SPEAKER_01: Because uh the spread was uh for that one, the the total spread that they have for the game was forty-eight and a half.
- 34:52SPEAKER_01: No, excuse me.
- 34:54SPEAKER_01: Um they had it at 44 and a half, and they only hit 40.
- 34:59SPEAKER_01: So, you know, that tells you that it was definitely an under game, but that's just because someone else didn't pull their weight, if you know what I mean, you know.
- 35:07SPEAKER_01: But anyways, that's my shit call of the week.
- 35:11SPEAKER_00: Not all, not all that shitty, but I understand the the points were only on one side, yeah.
- 35:17SPEAKER_01: Disappointing on my fantasy football team.
- 35:19SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I was a little disappointed in Devonta Smith, too, because he's been he's been looking really good all year and just had a couple hiccups along the way, and that was one of them.
- 35:28SPEAKER_01: Yes, sir.
- 35:34SPEAKER_01: Well, ladies and gentlemen, it's that time of the night we all hate.
- 35:38SPEAKER_01: It's time to go, right?
- 35:40SPEAKER_01: You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here, guys.
- 35:43SPEAKER_01: Show's over.
- 35:44SPEAKER_01: We appreciate all the support.
- 35:46SPEAKER_01: Uh, sorry for not having as many player profiles, guys.
- 35:49SPEAKER_01: We've just been getting hit with life.
- 35:51SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, a lot a lot of bullshit going on, but it's all good.
- 35:55SPEAKER_01: You know, and and we appreciate you guys all the support, everything that you guys do.
- 36:00SPEAKER_01: Make sure to like, share, send it to your friends.
- 36:03SPEAKER_01: Uh, Joe, anything else you got for them as well?
- 36:06SPEAKER_00: No, we're just gonna keep the videos going throughout the season.
- 36:09SPEAKER_00: And um, you know, if there's some cool plays or uh some other records that were set, I'll probably put together a little compilation, a little highlight of that.
- 36:18SPEAKER_00: But yeah, just keep keep like, comment, subscribing, tell your friends.
- 36:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we do appreciate that.
- 36:26SPEAKER_01: And if anything else, guys, we'll see you here next week at the same time, same place.
- 36:32SPEAKER_01: Uh, we appreciate you guys again.
- 36:34SPEAKER_01: This is the Fancy Football Sports Minds.
- 36:36SPEAKER_01: Guys, have a good night, all right?
- 36:38SPEAKER_01: Thank you so much.
- 36:39SPEAKER_01: Take care.
