- 1:20Dayna Roselli: Miranda Lambert announces her new show on the Las Vegas Strip.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: This will definitely be a one-of-a-kind Miranda Lambert experience.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: That's the point of Vegas.
- 1:32Sean McAllister: You'll hear more from the Country Superstar.
- 1:34Sean McAllister: Plus, we told you about Silksonic's show over at Park MGM a couple episodes ago, and now a clean sweep.
- 1:42Sean McAllister: The group takes home four Grammys.
- 1:46Dayna Roselli: And the Palms finally has an opening date.
- 1:49Dayna Roselli: The Resort Casino makes a big announcement.
- 1:52Sean McAllister: All that and so much more right now on Vegas Revealed.
- 1:56Dayna Roselli: Let's get to it and spin that wheel.
- 2:08Sean McAllister: Welcome to Vegas Revealed episode 113, Sean McAllister here along with Dana Roselli.
- 2:14Sean McAllister: And uh Dana, we have gotten quite a bit of time in on the golf course lately.
- 2:18Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 2:18Dayna Roselli: We had several shoots this week, and they all revolved around golf courses.
- 2:23Dayna Roselli: Uh, which I was like, I need to be golfer, because you know, it's beautiful.
- 2:28Dayna Roselli: Uh there's decent looking people out there, it's good exercise.
- 2:33Dayna Roselli: You get to roll around in the cart.
- 2:35Dayna Roselli: I mean, it was fun.
- 2:36Sean McAllister: And drink, drink food.
- 2:39Sean McAllister: The whole the whole golf thing.
- 2:40Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we were down at Southern Highlands Golf Course, gorgeous course, loved that.
- 2:45Dayna Roselli: And then you were over at the Win Golf Course shooting a segment for an upcoming episode of Vegas on.
- 2:51Sean McAllister: And let me tell you, they have seen an uptick in business that is insane over at the Wyn Golf Club.
- 3:00Sean McAllister: And I mean, people are coming to Vegas, they're gambling, they are going to shows, they're going to restaurants, they're shopping, and apparently they're golfing while they're here too.
- 3:12Dayna Roselli: Oh my goodness.
- 3:13Dayna Roselli: It's crazy how quick we have bounced back.
- 3:16Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's better than ever when it comes to the amount of things to do in Las Vegas.
- 3:21Dayna Roselli: And speaking of that, we had one resort casino that basically never reopened after it shut down during the pandemic.
- 3:30Dayna Roselli: And I'm talking about the Palms.
- 3:31Dayna Roselli: You've heard us talk about it many times, and we told you like ghost bars reopening and stuff like that, but we didn't have a date.
- 3:36Dayna Roselli: But now we have a date, Sean.
- 3:38Sean McAllister: We do.
- 3:38Sean McAllister: April 27th.
- 3:40Sean McAllister: It is go time over at the Palms.
- 3:42Sean McAllister: I cannot wait for the grand reopening of this iconic property.
- 3:48Sean McAllister: I know that we've each had uh respectively many nights over at the Palms.
- 3:55Sean McAllister: We've talked about that here on Vegas Revealed before, but uh I mean it's so exciting to have the Palms coming back.
- 4:04Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and you know, it's like a legendary resort, right?
- 4:07Dayna Roselli: And a lot of people say that because, like you were saying, we've had so many stories, they always involve celebrities.
- 4:12Dayna Roselli: There's been a lot of like celebrity stories that have come out of the Palms, and so many people know it.
- 4:16Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and it's gonna be great.
- 4:18Dayna Roselli: Um, they are starting to take reservations on April 28th.
- 4:21Dayna Roselli: You go to Palms.com to make a reservation, look around, get more information.
- 4:27Dayna Roselli: So, but it's opening the 27th, so I don't know, I have a feeling maybe there'll be a party or something, and then they want to start taking the room reservations the following night.
- 4:36Dayna Roselli: Um, great thing is, and we've also talked about this, is that it had just basically undergone a$600 million renovation before it shut down, about a year or so before, maybe two years before it had shut down.
- 4:49Sean McAllister: 2019, I think, is when that renovation was completed.
- 4:53Sean McAllister: And uh now there are new owners.
- 4:56Sean McAllister: San Manuel Gaming has come in, taken over the Palms, uh, bringing a new spirit, but also, you know, keeping alive all the things that we're nostalgic about over at the Palms.
- 5:08Sean McAllister: And we'll be doing a deep dive into everything new over there: interviews, our first hand accounts.
- 5:14Sean McAllister: That's coming up in uh a couple weeks here on Vegas Revealed.
- 5:18Sean McAllister: So we just wanted to let you know that the Palms is reopening April 27th.
- 5:24Sean McAllister: It's go time.
- 5:25Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it is exciting, and a bunch of the restaurants you love coming back to, so and then some new things.
- 5:30Dayna Roselli: Hey, moving on from that, we talked about Silksonic in episode 111 of Vegas Revealed.
- 5:36Dayna Roselli: We went in depth because we really loved the show.
- 5:38Dayna Roselli: We did.
- 5:39Dayna Roselli: And we also had to kind of explain and brief our listeners on who and what Silksonic is.
- 5:47Sean McAllister: Well, if you didn't know who Silksonic is or what Silksonic is, if you were watching the Grammys here uh broadcasting live from Las Vegas, then now you definitely know who Silksonic is.
- 6:00Dayna Roselli: Oh my goodness.
- 6:01Dayna Roselli: A clean sweep for them.
- 6:03Dayna Roselli: They were nominated for four Grammys and they won them all.
- 6:07Dayna Roselli: Incredible, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for Leave the Door Open.
- 6:12Dayna Roselli: Quick synopsis.
- 6:14Dayna Roselli: You definitely know who they are now, but it's Bruno Mars and Anderson Pac, and they are Silksonic.
- 6:19Dayna Roselli: And then they've got a whole big backing and band and that kind of thing.
- 6:22Dayna Roselli: But Leave the Door Open is their probably most popular song in the album.
- 6:26Dayna Roselli: They do a show at Park MGM.
- 6:28Dayna Roselli: Sean and I loved it.
- 6:29Dayna Roselli: We loved the music, we loved the performance.
- 6:31Dayna Roselli: Go back and listen to episode 111, but that was great.
- 6:35Dayna Roselli: And they were so much fun when they kept receiving the rewards, even the way they went up on stage.
- 6:39Dayna Roselli: I mean, they made themselves so memorable.
- 6:42Dayna Roselli: And like you said, if you didn't know who they were before, you know who they are now.
- 6:45Sean McAllister: You certainly do.
- 6:46Sean McAllister: Uh another band that you most definitely know is BTS.
- 6:52Sean McAllister: This is the Korean boy band uh that has really turned Las Vegas purple.
- 6:58Sean McAllister: Purple is the color of uh the BTS army, and for two consecutive weekends starting now, BTS is playing Las Vegas.
- 7:10Sean McAllister: And man, talk about taking over town and making your presence known.
- 7:15Sean McAllister: That BTS army, it's here.
- 7:18Dayna Roselli: It is, and they are uh blowing up Twitter.
- 7:21Dayna Roselli: I see them all chit-chatting about everything.
- 7:24Dayna Roselli: I mean, so they're here, yeah, the 8th and 9th, 15th, 16th.
- 7:26Dayna Roselli: They got shows at Allegiant Stadium, and I think they're doing something like a telecast live at uh MGM Gram, too.
- 7:33Dayna Roselli: So it's a big, big deal.
- 7:34Dayna Roselli: Uh something that came out actually the day after the Grammy, so Monday, a statement from Allegiant Stadium saying basically, I guess when folks had at first bought their tickets, they had to let them know that, you know, you're gonna need either a COVID test or have a vaccination card to get into Allegiant Stadium.
- 7:55Dayna Roselli: You know, they had to put that on the rules when you buy the tickets.
- 7:58Dayna Roselli: Then they came out Monday saying, okay, we're not gonna go with that.
- 8:01Dayna Roselli: The reason that we put that in there is because we weren't sure if things were gonna change, we wanted to be prepared.
- 8:06Dayna Roselli: So now they're saying you don't need a COVID test, you don't need a vaccination card, but you have to wear a mask over your mouth and nose at all times once you enter the stadium, unless you are actively eating and drinking.
- 8:21Dayna Roselli: And that really threw everyone for a loop.
- 8:23Dayna Roselli: And the BTS army is chiming in all over Twitter.
- 8:27Sean McAllister: They are, and I actually I was following this whole thread of uh one of the BTS fans that came to Las Vegas for the show, um and and she was actually kind of appalled at the fact that everybody in Las Vegas wasn't wearing a mask.
- 8:47Sean McAllister: Right.
- 8:47Sean McAllister: So she was all for the mask wearing and everything, but she was like, My gosh, Las Vegas is packed to the gills, and you know, not everybody's wearing a mask, and what's going on here?
- 8:58Sean McAllister: Well, it's because you don't have to wear a mask.
- 9:00Sean McAllister: That is your choice to wear a mask here, and if you want to, more power to you.
- 9:05Sean McAllister: And I won't you don't have to now.
- 9:07Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I wonder if where she's from they they still do wear masks, and maybe she just didn't know.
- 9:13Sean McAllister: I have a feeling it was an LA person.
- 9:15Dayna Roselli: Oh, okay, interesting, huh?
- 9:17Sean McAllister: But even in LA, yeah, masks have you know restrictions have eased up.
- 9:21Sean McAllister: So I don't know.
- 9:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean, you need to know the environment you're going into.
- 9:24Dayna Roselli: If you don't love that people aren't wearing masks, you have to know you're going to an area that does not require masks.
- 9:29Dayna Roselli: So, I mean, anyway, now at Allegiance Stadium, they're requiring the masks, and apparently they're saying, you know, it's the event organizer that has come that is putting out this, you know, new rule for these shows.
- 9:41Dayna Roselli: So I think, you know, people were saying, yeah, once everyone walks in and once they get a snack or a drink, the masks are gonna come off.
- 9:48Dayna Roselli: Maybe they will, maybe they won't.
- 9:50Dayna Roselli: We have a lot of people from outside of the country here in town for these shows, too.
- 9:53Dayna Roselli: So we'll see.
- 9:54Dayna Roselli: That's the rule.
- 9:55Dayna Roselli: That's they put it, that's what they put out, and uh, I'm sure the show will be fabulous regardless.
- 10:01Dayna Roselli: It's just, again, not something we're used to anymore because we've had the luxury of not having to wear them.
- 10:05Sean McAllister: Right.
- 10:06Sean McAllister: So BTS performing here in Las Vegas at Allegiance Stadium uh this weekend, the 8th and 9th, and then again next weekend, April 15th and 16th.
- 10:16Sean McAllister: By the way, Dana, uh Backstreet Boys also performing those same nights over at Caesars Palace.
- 10:23Dayna Roselli: And I'll be there on the 9th.
- 10:24Dayna Roselli: I can't wait.
- 10:25Sean McAllister: I'm so bummed that I have to miss it.
- 10:27Sean McAllister: I'm going out of town.
- 10:29Dayna Roselli: But Backstreet's back.
- 10:31Dayna Roselli: I know, I know.
- 10:32Sean McAllister: I know.
- 10:32Sean McAllister: And I have to believe that there is going to be some sort of announcement during at least one of these Las Vegas shows that they intend to be back for a residency once they wrap up their tour.
- 10:44Sean McAllister: I just have a feeling.
- 10:45Sean McAllister: I hope so.
- 10:46Dayna Roselli: W I loved their show at Zappos Theater.
- 10:48Dayna Roselli: I'm so excited they're gonna be performing in the Coliseum, and I'm excited to see what they do.
- 10:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 10:54Dayna Roselli: It's just it's a it's gonna be a great show.
- 10:56Dayna Roselli: I I'm excited.
- 10:58Dayna Roselli: I might even sleep in that day.
- 10:59Dayna Roselli: I can tell you're excited.
- 11:00Sean McAllister: You're like giddy, you're getting giddy over there.
- 11:02Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 11:03Dayna Roselli: And it's funny because I wasn't a Backstreet fan back in the day.
- 11:05Dayna Roselli: I was new kids on the block the whole way.
- 11:07Dayna Roselli: You don't care around it, kind of everyone had their like you either really like diehard new kids or diehard Backstreet.
- 11:12Dayna Roselli: There was a little slight difference in age.
- 11:15Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 11:15Dayna Roselli: And I think I was more like the new kids generation.
- 11:18Dayna Roselli: So when I saw Backstreet, of course I liked their music and I knew their songs and stuff, but when I went to Zappos Theater, I don't know what they sold me.
- 11:25Dayna Roselli: I was like, I forgot how many hits they had.
- 11:27Dayna Roselli: I love them as a group, and I love dance numbers.
- 11:30Dayna Roselli: So the when boy bands dance to choreography, it makes me happy.
- 11:35Dayna Roselli: So I'm excited to see what they do at the Coliseum.
- 11:38Sean McAllister: I didn't know that.
- 11:38Sean McAllister: So were you a California Raisins fan too?
- 11:41Sean McAllister: Did you like when they all did the what's oh California Raisins?
- 11:43Dayna Roselli: Oh, the the Raisins?
- 11:44Sean McAllister: Yeah, the Raisins.
- 11:45Dayna Roselli: Oh, you mean um when they do the um Heard it through the Right.
- 11:49Sean McAllister: Yeah, heard it through the Great Fun.
- 11:50Dayna Roselli: I like that, yes.
- 11:52Dayna Roselli: I do.
- 11:52Dayna Roselli: I love Big Dance.
- 11:53Dayna Roselli: That's why I love MJ1.
- 11:55Dayna Roselli: I love that show, the Cinco Fillet show.
- 11:57Dayna Roselli: Because it's like huge dance numbers to great songs that you know.
- 12:01Dayna Roselli: So I love and then Gwen Stefani.
- 12:03Dayna Roselli: I love when there's like a big and Janet Jackson.
- 12:05Dayna Roselli: I love all those kinds of shows that include like big dance numbers.
- 12:08Dayna Roselli: They are they're my favorite.
- 12:09Sean McAllister: And it is impressive, too, to see uh any number of people, you know, dancing in in sync.
- 12:16Dayna Roselli: Not to bring in another boy band, but in sync, not really, they won't be there.
- 12:22Sean McAllister: So we talked about having the Grammys here in Las Vegas.
- 12:25Sean McAllister: We also recently had the Academy of Country Music Awards.
- 12:29Sean McAllister: The ACMs were held over at uh T-Mobile Arena, and Miranda Lambert was named Entertainer of the Year.
- 12:39Sean McAllister: And on the heels of that announcement, we have just learned, Dana, that Miranda Lambert now has her own Las Vegas residency.
- 12:48Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 12:48Dayna Roselli: Excited for her.
- 12:49Dayna Roselli: She seems really thrilled to do this.
- 12:51Dayna Roselli: This will be her first residency show.
- 12:53Dayna Roselli: We're having a lot of first timers come to Las Vegas.
- 12:56Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 12:56Sean McAllister: Well, and I tell you, I was talking about this at home the other night.
- 13:00Sean McAllister: The the caliber of performance, like the entire perception of Las Vegas entertainment, is it has got to be changing now.
- 13:08Sean McAllister: Because even when Celine Dion was, you know, launching at the height of her residency over at Caesars Palace, people still had the perception, like, oh, that's where like older entertainers go, like people on the way out, you know, go to Vegas and then they retire.
- 13:28Sean McAllister: Well, any perception of that should be completely wiped out right now if you look at the current roster of entertainers.
- 13:37Sean McAllister: I mean, really, Britney Spears uh should be credited with kind of the beginning of that entire shift.
- 13:44Sean McAllister: But having Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, Katy Perry, Miranda Lambert, John Legend, I mean, uh the list goes on.
- 13:53Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 13:53Dayna Roselli: It it yeah, it does.
- 13:55Dayna Roselli: And and it's exciting because I think all eyes are on Las Vegas always.
- 14:00Dayna Roselli: We're such a town where everyone talks about and they want to come to where they do visit, but like even more so, it's almost like just incredible, I'm just gonna be honest, PR for our city.
- 14:11Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 14:12Dayna Roselli: I mean, because now we're getting all genres, you know, country music and you know, the gaga fans, and you know, we have some of the best comedians coming into town.
- 14:21Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's just it's hitting everything.
- 14:23Dayna Roselli: BTS, Backstreet Boys, you know, I mean, old, new.
- 14:26Dayna Roselli: I mean, we got it all.
- 14:28Sean McAllister: Well, and speaking of country, I have long suggested to uh executives down on the Las Vegas Strip that there should be a a country residency, like the grand old Opry of the West.
- 14:41Sean McAllister: Right.
- 14:41Sean McAllister: And have a rotating roster of the biggest name country acts as part of that residency.
- 14:48Sean McAllister: So you can go see the residency, but it'll just be rotating roster of stars.
- 14:52Dayna Roselli: Well, it seems like that entire concept is not happening, but I mean we're putting it out there for copyright for copyright purposes.
- 15:03Dayna Roselli: And licensing if it ever happens, right?
- 15:05Sean McAllister: Back to the point, though.
- 15:06Sean McAllister: Miranda's got a show.
- 15:07Dayna Roselli: I know, I know.
- 15:08Dayna Roselli: Okay, it's called Miranda Lambert Velvet Rodeo, the Las Vegas Residency.
- 15:11Dayna Roselli: It's gonna be at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood.
- 15:14Dayna Roselli: It kicks off Friday, September 23rd, and she's doing a run of 24 shows to start.
- 15:20Dayna Roselli: Um, she did recently speak about how this is gonna go down and how this is her first time doing a residency type show.
- 15:29Dayna Roselli: Let's hear from Miranda.
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: This will definitely be a one-of-a-kind Miranda Labour experience.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: That's the point of Vegas.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: It'll be so different, and I think that's gonna be like a a new energy for me.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: I think it's gonna hopefully breathe new life into my process, you know, because it's Vegas.
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: You need to bring your A-game, Sin City.
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: There's everything you ever wanted there, and a lot of it.
- 15:52SPEAKER_00: And I want to be one of those things people want.
- 15:54SPEAKER_00: I want to be one of the things on their list.
- 15:57Sean McAllister: I mean, I'm excited, Dana.
- 15:59Sean McAllister: Being the entertainer of the year, you know Miranda's gonna put on a big show.
- 16:04Sean McAllister: She's had her own uh successful solo country career.
- 16:08Sean McAllister: She's also been in the group Pistol Annies, and they've had some chart-topping music.
- 16:14Sean McAllister: So potentially, you know, some of her country friends could be sprinkled into some of these performances too.
- 16:20Sean McAllister: Who knows?
- 16:21Sean McAllister: I think she's just gonna put on one heck of a show.
- 16:24Dayna Roselli: You know, and for me, I do not follow Miranda Lambert, but I didn't really follow Luke Bryan either, and I absolutely loved his show, and now I'm a fan.
- 16:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 16:31Dayna Roselli: So I'm hoping that's what this will, you know, this will happen to me too.
- 16:35Dayna Roselli: I know people love her, and I know under like where we posted even on Instagram and stuff, people were like, I can't wait, I'm there, you know, and super excited for Miranda to hit the stage, and like you said, she's entertainer of the year.
- 16:46Dayna Roselli: I look forward to seeing this show and more of her, and and maybe becoming a fan as well.
- 16:52Dayna Roselli: It's just not uh someone that I follow.
- 16:54Dayna Roselli: But country music is becoming, I for I feel like for me, I'm I'm really taking to it because we we've actually just went to a fundraiser where there were two country acts.
- 17:02Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 17:02Dayna Roselli: Uh what is it, Jake Owen and Midland.
- 17:05Dayna Roselli: And I loved it.
- 17:06Dayna Roselli: It was great.
- 17:07Sean McAllister: Country music, it really is good.
- 17:09Dayna Roselli: It is, and uh, and it's huge here too.
- 17:12Dayna Roselli: Whenever we have concerts or festivals, people turn out in droves.
- 17:15Dayna Roselli: So it Miranda definitely serves a purpose.
- 17:18Dayna Roselli: Shania is is gone now, right?
- 17:21Dayna Roselli: She's her residency is over.
- 17:22Sean McAllister: Yep, she wrapped up.
- 17:23Dayna Roselli: So, you know, Miranda will now hit the stage.
- 17:26Dayna Roselli: Um, and then, you know, should we gossip a little about what we saw on Instagram?
- 17:31Sean McAllister: Let's do it.
- 17:33Dayna Roselli: We are, you know, we like a little gossip.
- 17:35Dayna Roselli: Gwen Stefani, I swear, I was sitting next to you.
- 17:38Dayna Roselli: She posted some clips.
- 17:39Sean McAllister: Just a couple days ago.
- 17:40Sean McAllister: We talked about it.
- 17:41Dayna Roselli: She posted from her residency and like some clips of just a girl.
- 17:44Dayna Roselli: Now, Gwen show one of my absolute favorites.
- 17:46Dayna Roselli: We've talked about that a million times.
- 17:47Dayna Roselli: And I was like, Oh, look, maybe Gwen will come back.
- 17:50Dayna Roselli: Then we were like looking at the Miranda stuff, and I was like, oh, wait, and Miranda used to be married to Blake Shelton, right?
- 17:56Dayna Roselli: And you were like, Yeah.
- 17:57Dayna Roselli: And I was like, oh, and she's playing Zappos Theater the same stage that Gwen did.
- 18:03Dayna Roselli: Wait a minute.
- 18:04Dayna Roselli: Was Gwen posting something to show I was there first?
- 18:09Sean McAllister: It could be.
- 18:10Dayna Roselli: So we went to look back at what she posted.
- 18:14Dayna Roselli: It's been deleted.
- 18:15Sean McAllister: Huh.
- 18:16Dayna Roselli: Dun-da-da!
- 18:17Sean McAllister: The plot thickens.
- 18:18Dayna Roselli: The plot thickens.
- 18:20Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 18:21Dayna Roselli: Anyway.
- 18:22Sean McAllister: You don't know the true intent of any of it, but it's fun to chat about, isn't it?
- 18:27Dayna Roselli: It sure is.
- 18:28unknown: It sure is.
- 18:29Sean McAllister: Miranda Lambert, Velvet Rodeo, opens September 23rd over at Zappos Theater inside Planet Hollywood.
- 18:38Sean McAllister: Looking forward to that one.
- 18:39Sean McAllister: But Dana Chris Angel also just opened a new show, also inside Planet Hollywood.
- 18:46Sean McAllister: That's where he's been performing his Mind Freak live show.
- 18:50Sean McAllister: But this new production is called A Mystica.
- 18:53Sean McAllister: I went over there the other night for the grand opening of the show, ran into a lot of friends, DJ Ashba, former guitarist of Guns N' Roses, uh Michael Goddard, the artist who we've spoken to here on the podcast before.
- 19:08Sean McAllister: Uh Carrot Top was there.
- 19:10Sean McAllister: Lots of Chris Angels friends on the red carpet, a lot of Vegas performers there.
- 19:16Sean McAllister: Um and Chris is excited about this new show.
- 19:20Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I I quickly had to take a job.
- 19:23Dayna Roselli: It was a Grammy uh black carpet event, and so I couldn't go.
- 19:27Dayna Roselli: So, first of all, you were there and you were able to record a little bit of their chat.
- 19:32Dayna Roselli: Uh, and when I say they, it's because Chris is partnering with Franco Dragon, right?
- 19:37Dayna Roselli: And he, if you don't know Franco, created Celine's first show, right?
- 19:42Dayna Roselli: A New Day, is that what's the first one?
- 19:43Dayna Roselli: A new day.
- 19:44Sean McAllister: He's also the mind behind Cirque de Soleil's Oh and Mystere.
- 19:49Sean McAllister: He also had a big hand in the launch of La Rev over at Win Las Vegas.
- 19:54Sean McAllister: So he's a legendary show producer, and he partnered with uh Chris Angel on this new show.
- 20:03Sean McAllister: Uh, take a listen to Chris talking to the audience about why they decided to partner and put this production together.
- 20:11SPEAKER_03: Artists didn't know what to do, they were doing other jobs.
- 20:14SPEAKER_03: So Franco and I talked during the COVID period, and we said we wanted to do something out of love and positivity, and we wanted to create something in world record time because Circ typically takes two to three years to do a show.
- 20:30SPEAKER_03: We are doing this show tonight in less than six months.
- 20:35SPEAKER_03: Okay?
- 20:36SPEAKER_03: And with a tiny little budget that Tronco and I put up personally because we believe in Las Vegas and the artists that are in this community.
- 20:47SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 20:50Sean McAllister: And Dana, a Mystica is kind of an autobiographical show, obviously highly dramatized and very theatrical, of Chris Angel's life.
- 21:01Sean McAllister: From his where his interest in magic came from as a child, and later on to his the height of his stardom and the good and bad press that he's received.
- 21:11Sean McAllister: And it's a really high quality production.
- 21:15Dayna Roselli: And and I I told you I couldn't be there, but in some ways I was there, wasn't I, Sean?
- 21:20Sean McAllister: Yeah, you were.
- 21:20Sean McAllister: I just kept hearing your voice.
- 21:23Sean McAllister: It kept happening over and over again.
- 21:26Dayna Roselli: Oh boy.
- 21:26Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we did some voiceover work for Chris, and we weren't sure if we're uh gonna make the show.
- 21:31Dayna Roselli: And you said uh my little breaking news clips made the show.
- 21:33Dayna Roselli: So I have to go.
- 21:34Dayna Roselli: You were in there twice.
- 21:35Dayna Roselli: In twice, wow.
- 21:36Dayna Roselli: Uh yeah.
- 21:37Dayna Roselli: So if you want to hear my voice in a Mystica, apparently I'm in it.
- 21:39Dayna Roselli: I'm excited.
- 21:40Dayna Roselli: Um love working with Chris on a lot of different projects now and then.
- 21:44Dayna Roselli: And uh, whenever he needs kind of the news voice, he calls on us, which we love.
- 21:48Sean McAllister: There's big fans that come out on the stage, and when you see those, listen for Dana's voice.
- 21:54Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 21:54Sean McAllister: Uh Chris Angel, a Mystica, now playing over at Planet Hollywood.
- 21:58Dayna Roselli: And the reason, Sean, that I wasn't there, I want to tell you About it.
- 22:00Dayna Roselli: I went to an event uh circling around the Grammys.
- 22:03Dayna Roselli: It was the night before the Grammys were in Vegas, and it was down at Resorts World, and they were honoring John Legend for his basically his personal and professional achievements in music.
- 22:15Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 22:16Dayna Roselli: It was a recording academy.
- 22:17Sean McAllister: And kind of a big deal.
- 22:18Dayna Roselli: It was a big deal, yeah.
- 22:20Dayna Roselli: I went there to do the black carpet that they had laid out, that a lot of different people were at the event, and I worked some interviews for Vegas on.
- 22:28Dayna Roselli: So if you want to see some of the highlights of that, go to visit losvegas.com or check out their YouTube.
- 22:35Dayna Roselli: There's a new episode up, and all my coverage is there.
- 22:38Dayna Roselli: But I wanted to talk a little bit about what I was, you know, basically finding out when I was chatting to some of these celebrities.
- 22:44Dayna Roselli: Um, I talked to Jordan Sparks and I talked to Grandmaster Flash and I talked to Jimmy Jam and Jimmy Allen was there, country music artist who was nominated for Best New Artist of the Year.
- 22:56Dayna Roselli: He was super excited.
- 22:57Sean McAllister: At the Grammys.
- 22:58Dayna Roselli: At the Grammys, yeah.
- 22:59Dayna Roselli: So he was there at this event as well, and he was saying, you know, first of all, he was blown away, even just A, to be there in Vegas and joining the Grammys, and you know, B, being honored.
- 23:11Dayna Roselli: Then that night when they were honoring John Legend, he was also the chosen performer to perform at that event.
- 23:17Dayna Roselli: Wow.
- 23:17Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 23:18Dayna Roselli: So I listen, another country artist.
- 23:20Dayna Roselli: I went on, looked him up because I didn't know his music.
- 23:23Dayna Roselli: It's really good.
- 23:25Dayna Roselli: So Love Jimmy Allen.
- 23:26Dayna Roselli: He was super nice.
- 23:27Dayna Roselli: And just wanted to mention as I was talking to all these different people, I asked them all about Las Vegas and the Grammys being in Las Vegas.
- 23:35Dayna Roselli: It was the first time we've mentioned that.
- 23:36Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 23:37Dayna Roselli: But I was curious to see like what did they like this experience?
- 23:40Dayna Roselli: Because we'd seen a couple contradictory articles.
- 23:42Dayna Roselli: Was it page six with saying everyone was miserable because we didn't have the right ragging on Vegas?
- 23:48Dayna Roselli: And our casinos smelled like smoke.
- 23:50Sean McAllister: And I take huge issue with the fact with that page six article saying that we don't have expert tailors in Las Vegas.
- 23:59Sean McAllister: You go behind the scenes at any show on the Las Vegas strip, and there is a wardrobe department full of some of the most talented seamstresses and seamsters.
- 24:13Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 24:13Sean McAllister: Is that what you call a guy seamstress?
- 24:15Sean McAllister: I don't know.
- 24:16Sean McAllister: Um but they are masters at their craft, the men and women who do those jobs.
- 24:22Sean McAllister: So you're right.
- 24:23Sean McAllister: Up yours to anyone who rags on Vegas.
- 24:28Dayna Roselli: I was backstage of Mysterio, and they actually have, like you said, Tailors and Seamstress right backstage.
- 24:34Dayna Roselli: Each costume is literally m created and made and sewn and tweaked for each individual performer in that show.
- 24:42Dayna Roselli: So they are all on site, full-time backstage.
- 24:46Dayna Roselli: So you're right.
- 24:46Sean McAllister: We have plenty.
- 24:47Dayna Roselli: So I was curious to see what all these different people that were in town, what they thought.
- 24:52Dayna Roselli: And not nothing negative.
- 24:54Dayna Roselli: Everyone seemed to think it was a blast.
- 24:56Dayna Roselli: Um, I talked to a rapper that was in from Chicago.
- 24:59Dayna Roselli: He was up for best RB performance, and he said he just loved that like he could go down and gamble a little.
- 25:04Dayna Roselli: He thought it was cool to like, you know, in some of his downtime, that he he thought there was a great variety of things to do in Vegas.
- 25:11Dayna Roselli: Um Jordan Sparks said she always loves visiting Las Vegas.
- 25:15Dayna Roselli: It's so much fun.
- 25:16Dayna Roselli: She also mentioned she would love a residency show here.
- 25:19Dayna Roselli: So I chatted with her about that.
- 25:21Dayna Roselli: Um, some of the people next to me on the carpet, even the crews and the photographers, um, and also I can't remember the other person that I interviewed were saying that they loved that Vegas like doesn't shut down at 1 a.m.
- 25:32Dayna Roselli: like LA does.
- 25:33Dayna Roselli: So the after parties and the Grammy related parties could go longer into the night.
- 25:38Dayna Roselli: It wasn't a rush to get there.
- 25:40Dayna Roselli: You know, they could go a little late, they could eat dinner, they could go to a party at, you know, 11 p.m.
- 25:44Dayna Roselli: and and maybe it would go till three.
- 25:46Dayna Roselli: So they were enjoying that side of it, the kind of 24-7 deal that we have going on here.
- 25:51Dayna Roselli: But uh everyone thought it was different and and were they seemed excited to be in Las Vegas and having this celebration in Las Vegas.
- 26:00Sean McAllister: And another celebration that's been making the rounds in all the rumor mills, uh, there's reports and photos popping up of Courtney Kardashian and Travis Barker tying the knot at a Vegas wedding chapel.
- 26:14Dayna Roselli: Yeah, after the Grammys, they decided to go and like, and apparently this chapel, like they demanded like we need an Elvis here.
- 26:20Dayna Roselli: So they called up an Elvis and he showed up to officiate.
- 26:24Sean McAllister: We know a guy.
- 26:24Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we know a bunch of guys.
- 26:28Dayna Roselli: Um and so everyone was curious because like, you know, did they really get married?
- 26:34Dayna Roselli: Because did they go get a marriage license was the big or did they just do this for fun?
- 26:38Dayna Roselli: Well, she literally just posted on her Instagram six hours ago from when we're recording this, saying, found these on my camera roll.
- 26:45Dayna Roselli: I'm like, I'm sure you I'm sure you knew they were like, come on, you know, we're not dumb.
- 26:49Dayna Roselli: Um, but anyway, she said um it happened in Las Vegas at 2 a.m.
- 26:54Dayna Roselli: and at it happened after an epic night and a little tequila.
- 26:58Dayna Roselli: A queen and her handsome king ventured out to the only open chapel with an Elvis and got married, and then she put in parentheses with no license.
- 27:07Dayna Roselli: Practice makes perfect.
- 27:08Dayna Roselli: So they are not officially married yet.
- 27:11Sean McAllister: All right.
- 27:11Dayna Roselli: But they went out and did this, had a little fun, and great promo again.
- 27:17Dayna Roselli: Listen, the Kardashian, say what you will, biggest thing going.
- 27:21Sean McAllister: It's great promo for our Las Vegas wedding chapels.
- 27:24Sean McAllister: I didn't know that you could like go in there and just have like a a fake wedding, though.
- 27:29Dayna Roselli: I think when you're corning.
- 27:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 27:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 27:32Sean McAllister: We'll just why not?
- 27:33Sean McAllister: I guess some of the rules slip by.
- 27:35Dayna Roselli: So uh congratulations, not congratulations to them.
- 27:38Dayna Roselli: I'd have to look at the article to figure out.
- 27:40Sean McAllister: Did you say congratulations, not congratulations?
- 27:42Dayna Roselli: They didn't really get married.
- 27:43Dayna Roselli: You know, like congratulations, I don't know what on what, because you didn't really get married.
- 27:49Sean McAllister: So glad you had fun.
- 27:51Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I'm glad it was fun.
- 27:52Dayna Roselli: The tequila will do that to you.
- 27:54Dayna Roselli: Um, we're gonna talk a little more Kardashian-esque in our tips, but why don't we get right to those tips, Sean?
- 28:05Sean McAllister: Yeah, our first tip uh has a member of the Kardashian clan here in Vegas.
- 28:11Sean McAllister: They're it seems like they're always here.
- 28:12Sean McAllister: Right.
- 28:13Sean McAllister: Kendall Jenner was at the grand reopening of Tao Day Club, Tau Beach Day Club over at the Venetian.
- 28:21Sean McAllister: Um she was among many celebrities who were there.
- 28:25Sean McAllister: Brian Cranston, Aaron Paul, Scott Dissick, Courtney's ex.
- 28:30Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 28:31Sean McAllister: Uh it's Lil John, Alesso, Steve Aoki, Dude with a sign.
- 28:39Dayna Roselli: Oh, I love Dude with a sign.
- 28:41Dayna Roselli: He was there! He was there.
- 28:42Dayna Roselli: Oh my god, he's my favorite on Instagram.
- 28:45Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, I wonder if he got some good ones that he's gonna post on Instagram.
- 28:49Dayna Roselli: If you don't know who Dude with a sign is, follow him on Instagram.
- 28:53Dayna Roselli: He holds up like a cardboard piece of box and writes a different kind of quote on it and Instagrams it, and they're always so like real and funny.
- 29:04Sean McAllister: So, dude with a sign was here.
- 29:07Sean McAllister: I wonder if this is his first time uh being in Vegas with his sign.
- 29:12Sean McAllister: Dude with a sign fame.
- 29:14Sean McAllister: Um, but Tao Tao Beach Day Club, it's back open, popping off.
- 29:20Sean McAllister: It's newly redesigned, it's an Asian-themed motif out there.
- 29:26Sean McAllister: And I mean, I'm just scrolling through some of the pictures now.
- 29:30Sean McAllister: Little John performed and people were going nuts out there.
- 29:34Sean McAllister: Um but it's a a great reminder that our day clubs and beaches are back open and fully operational for the season.
- 29:43Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so you know, and it's is as this comes as a tip, it's that Tao Beach is back.
- 29:48Dayna Roselli: Because I know a lot of people love it.
- 29:50Dayna Roselli: It was like I think I want to say it was one of the very first kind of day clubs, wasn't it?
- 29:55Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 29:55Dayna Roselli: It's been open was open for a long time.
- 29:58Dayna Roselli: It wasn't huge at first.
- 29:59Dayna Roselli: They had two little pools in there at the barn.
- 30:01Dayna Roselli: It was kind of like this really kind of fun place to go, be seen, hang out, and then uh other mega kind of day clubs started opening, you know, the Wet Republic and the Encore Beach Club.
- 30:13Dayna Roselli: And so Tau closed for a revamp, and now they are back open.
- 30:16Dayna Roselli: So go visit the OG.
- 30:18Sean McAllister: The OG.
- 30:19Sean McAllister: And there are plenty of uh Instagrammable spots for you that have been installed.
- 30:24Sean McAllister: So you don't need to worry about your your timeline going empty if you go to uh Tau Beach Day Club.
- 30:31Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 30:32Dayna Roselli: One night a long time ago, I met a bar back from Tau Beach.
- 30:38Sean McAllister: This sounds like the beginning of a good story.
- 30:40Sean McAllister: It's a really one night a long, long time ago.
- 30:42Sean McAllister: It's a good story.
- 30:43Dayna Roselli: It was a bit of away downtown.
- 30:46Sean McAllister: Oh, really?
- 30:47Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and then we went out like the whole night long and hopped down Fremont Street.
- 30:51Dayna Roselli: It was a memorable night.
- 30:52Dayna Roselli: He was cute.
- 30:53Dayna Roselli: Blonde hair, tan skin.
- 30:56Dayna Roselli: We'll leave it at that.
- 31:01Dayna Roselli: Okay, let's do our other tips.
- 31:04Dayna Roselli: Let's go back to the Grammys.
- 31:05Sean McAllister: I like how you got out of that.
- 31:06Dayna Roselli: I got out of that.
- 31:07Dayna Roselli: I started it and then I didn't finish.
- 31:08Dayna Roselli: It's terrible and it's annoying.
- 31:10Dayna Roselli: I just did what a lot of people find very annoying starting a story and not finishing it.
- 31:14Sean McAllister: What's your tip?
- 31:15Dayna Roselli: But it's my podcast, so okay.
- 31:18Dayna Roselli: Uh, tips going back to the Grammy event I was at.
- 31:20Dayna Roselli: I wanted to let everyone know that I talked to D Nice.
- 31:22Dayna Roselli: And you're like, well, okay, D Nice.
- 31:24Dayna Roselli: A lot of people know who D Nice is.
- 31:26Dayna Roselli: Some might not be familiar.
- 31:27Dayna Roselli: Uh, you know, rapper, RB singer from basically mostly popular back when probably I was in high school.
- 31:35Dayna Roselli: My nickname was D Nice, actually, because of the Dana.
- 31:38Dayna Roselli: Oh.
- 31:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 31:39Dayna Roselli: Anyway, um, but he still has so relevant.
- 31:41Dayna Roselli: He actually just took a trip to the White House.
- 31:43Dayna Roselli: He's doing so many wonderful things.
- 31:44Dayna Roselli: And I talked to D Nice.
- 31:46Dayna Roselli: He was trying to not be interviewed by me because he was like trying to get to the event.
- 31:50Dayna Roselli: Oh, yeah.
- 31:50Dayna Roselli: And I was like, D Nice, come on, D Nice, come on over.
- 31:53Dayna Roselli: I want to talk to you about what you're doing in the fall.
- 31:55Dayna Roselli: Because he's doing this really cool event called Club Quarantine.
- 31:59Dayna Roselli: It's called um CQ After Dark.
- 32:02Dayna Roselli: And the CQ is for Club Quarantine.
- 32:05Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 32:05Dayna Roselli: He's a list of performers coming into town.
- 32:07Dayna Roselli: Labor Day Weekend here in Las Vegas, um, El De Barge, Jagged Edge, Maya, whole list of different kinds of shows that are going to go on.
- 32:16Dayna Roselli: But along with that, there are several other little parties.
- 32:20Dayna Roselli: There is a praise and worship brunch, there is a pool party, and there's also a series of panels on health and wellness and financial literacy.
- 32:28Dayna Roselli: Interesting.
- 32:29Dayna Roselli: And basically what he was telling me is that, you know, it's not just a festival.
- 32:32Dayna Roselli: There are a lot of different things going on that that weekend.
- 32:35Dayna Roselli: And basically, it's a way to bring awareness, help people, yes, have some fun, enjoy the entertainment, but also take part in the conversation and learn something.
- 32:46Dayna Roselli: So I think it'll be really great.
- 32:48Dayna Roselli: And it's again Labor Day weekend.
- 32:49Dayna Roselli: I think that's the second to fourth here this year.
- 32:53Dayna Roselli: Um, check it out.
- 32:54Dayna Roselli: Tickets are available online.
- 32:55Dayna Roselli: I think it's Live Nation that is um putting the tickets out.
- 32:58Dayna Roselli: So if you just Google it, D nice Club Quarantine Las Vegas, you'll find tickets there.
- 33:03Dayna Roselli: Seems kind of fun.
- 33:04Sean McAllister: Yeah, that's a cool idea.
- 33:06Sean McAllister: I like that.
- 33:07Sean McAllister: And uh, you were also telling me about this singer Yola.
- 33:10Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I I I had never heard of her, never met her, and she was there at the event.
- 33:15Dayna Roselli: I think she told me it was her first time in Las Vegas.
- 33:18Dayna Roselli: She was thrilled.
- 33:19Dayna Roselli: I can't remember if it was her first time in the United States or in Las Vegas because she's an English musician, singer, and songwriter.
- 33:27Dayna Roselli: Uh, she is in town for a show that she's doing at the House of Blues on April 27th.
- 33:34Dayna Roselli: And so she's coming in to perform, came early to go to the Grammys.
- 33:38Dayna Roselli: Uh, she's been nominated for Grammys in the past.
- 33:41Dayna Roselli: So, yeah, it must not be her first time in the United States, must have been her first time in Las Vegas.
- 33:45Dayna Roselli: But anyway, we got chatting.
- 33:46Dayna Roselli: Um, she was a lovely, lovely woman, and she was telling me that she's in the new Elvis movie with Tom Hanks.
- 33:53Dayna Roselli: So, yeah, and she said that she plays a role that is crucial, which a lot of people don't know about, to Elvis's, to the start of Elvis' career.
- 34:03Dayna Roselli: And so we can catch her in that movie.
- 34:05Dayna Roselli: If you want to go see her sing and perform, she'll be at the House of Blues over at Mandalay Bay, April 27th.
- 34:12Dayna Roselli: Um, she was, let's see.
- 34:15Dayna Roselli: Yeah, she was up for and nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammys in 2020.
- 34:21Dayna Roselli: We've been so busy I haven't had a chance to actually look up and listen to her music, but she's apparently country, soul, RB, and Americana are her genres.
- 34:29Dayna Roselli: So her real name, I guess birth name, Yolanda, Claire Cordy, and that's why they call her Yola.
- 34:35Dayna Roselli: So Yola, check her out.
- 34:37Sean McAllister: And uh by the way, the new movie called Elvis is out June 24th across the United States.
- 34:44Dayna Roselli: I mean, I have a whole lineup of movies I need to be seeing.
- 34:48Sean McAllister: This is gonna be a busy summer for you.
- 34:49Dayna Roselli: I mean, I love Elvis, so I can't wait to see the Elvis movie.
- 34:52Dayna Roselli: And then Top Guns out in May.
- 34:53Sean McAllister: Your boy Tom is back.
- 34:55Dayna Roselli: Just reserve my spot and in one of the movie theaters here in town because I'm gonna be there a lot and I'm gonna be fist pumping.
- 35:03Dayna Roselli: I like to fist pump when I get excited over movies.
- 35:09Dayna Roselli: I can't wait.
- 35:10Dayna Roselli: Oh man.
- 35:10Dayna Roselli: Can't wait for Tom Cruise and Top Gun.
- 35:13Dayna Roselli: I hope it comes out this time.
- 35:14Dayna Roselli: They keep postponing it.
- 35:16Sean McAllister: It better come out.
- 35:16Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 35:17Dayna Roselli: They keep post pushing the trailer, so let's hope.
- 35:19Sean McAllister: It's been a long time coming.
- 35:20Sean McAllister: Hey, uh, thanks for listening to episode 113 of Vegas Revealed.

- 36:18Dayna Roselli: Great new attraction on the Las Vegas strip.
- 36:20Dayna Roselli: Apparently, we're flying over Iceland.
- 36:22Sean McAllister: I guess so.
- 36:23Dayna Roselli: So I'm excited to learn more about this, and we'll have an interview for you next week here on Vegas Revealed.
- 36:29Dayna Roselli: Bye.
- 36:30SPEAKER_03: Baby, let's go.
- 36:32SPEAKER_03: Let's go, let's go.
