- 0:00Speaker 1: Chapter twenty four, Love one Another from the True Vine
- 0:04Speaker 1: by Andrew Murray. This Librivok's recording is in the public
- 0:07Speaker 1: domain recording by Phil Snyder, Love one Another. This is
- 0:13Speaker 1: my commandment that ye love one another. John fifteen twelve.
- 0:19Speaker 1: God is love. His whole nature and perfection is love,
- 0:24Speaker 1: living not for himself, but to dispense life and blessing
- 0:29Speaker 1: in his love. He begat the sun that he might
- 0:32Speaker 1: give all to him in his love. He brought forth
- 0:35Speaker 1: creatures that he might make them partakers of his blessedness.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Christ is the son of God's love, the bearer, the revealer,
- 0:44Speaker 1: the communicator of that love. His life and death were
- 0:48Speaker 1: all love. Love is his life and the life he gives.
- 0:53Speaker 1: He only lives to love, to live out his life
- 0:57Speaker 1: of love in us, to give himself in all who
- 1:00Speaker 1: will receive him. The very first thought of the True
- 1:04Speaker 1: Vine is love, living only to impart his life to
- 1:08Speaker 1: the branches. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of love.
- 1:12Speaker 1: He cannot impart Christ's life without imparting his love. Salvation
- 1:17Speaker 1: is nothing but love conquering and entering into us. We
- 1:21Speaker 1: have just as much of salvation as we have of love.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Full salvation is perfect love no wonder that Christ said
- 1:30Speaker 1: a new commandment, I give unto you. This is my commandment,
- 1:34Speaker 1: the one, all inclusive commandment, that ye love one another.
- 1:39Speaker 1: The branch is not only one with the vine, but
- 1:42Speaker 1: with all its other branches. They drink one spirit, they
- 1:47Speaker 1: form one body, They bear one fruit. Nothing can be
- 1:51Speaker 1: more unnatural than that Christians should not love one another,
- 1:55Speaker 1: even as Christ loved them. The life they received from
- 1:59Speaker 1: their heavy vine is nothing but love. This is the
- 2:03Speaker 1: one thing He asks above all others. Hereby shall all
- 2:08Speaker 1: men know that ye are my disciples. Love one another.
- 2:13Speaker 1: As the special sort of vine is known by the
- 2:16Speaker 1: fruit it bears. The nature of the heavenly vine is
- 2:19Speaker 1: to be judged of by the love His disciples have
- 2:22Speaker 1: to one another. See that you obey this commandment. Let
- 2:27Speaker 1: your obey and abide be seen in this love your brethren,
- 2:32Speaker 1: as the way to abide in the love of your Lord.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Let your vow of obedience begin here love one another.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Let your intercourse with the Christians in your own family
- 2:43Speaker 1: be holy, tender, christ like love. Let your thoughts of
- 2:48Speaker 1: the Christians round you be before everything in the spirit
- 2:52Speaker 1: of Christ's love. Let your life and conduct be the
- 2:56Speaker 1: sacrifice of love. Give yourself up to think of their
- 2:59Speaker 1: sins or their needs, to intercede for them, to help
- 3:04Speaker 1: and to serve them. Be in your church or circle
- 3:07Speaker 1: the embodiment of Christ's love. The life Christ lives in
- 3:11Speaker 1: you is love. Let the life in which you live
- 3:14Speaker 1: it out be all love. But man, you write as
- 3:18Speaker 1: if all this was so natural and simple and easy.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Is it at all possible thus to live and thus
- 3:24Speaker 1: to love? My answer is Christ commands it. You must obey.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Christ means it. You must obey or you cannot abide
- 3:34Speaker 1: in His love. But I have tried and failed. I
- 3:37Speaker 1: see no prospect of living like Christ. Ah. That is
- 3:42Speaker 1: because you have failed to take in the first word
- 3:45Speaker 1: of the parable. I am the true Vine. I give
- 3:49Speaker 1: all you need as a branch. I give all I
- 3:52Speaker 1: myself have. I pray you let the sense of past
- 3:56Speaker 1: failure and present feebleness drive you to the Vine. He
- 4:00Speaker 1: is all love. He loves to give, He gives love.
- 4:05Speaker 1: He will teach you to love, even as He loved
- 4:09Speaker 1: love one another. Dear Lord, Jesus, thou art all love.
- 4:14Speaker 1: The life thou gavest us is love, thy new commandment,
- 4:18Speaker 1: and thy badge of discipleship is love one another. I
- 4:23Speaker 1: accept the charge with the love with which thou lovest me,
- 4:27Speaker 1: and I love THEE. I will love my brethren. End
- 4:33Speaker 1: of Chapter twenty four.
