- 0:00Speaker 1: Well, that's what's missing.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Our lives will be horrible without the kids.
- 0:05Speaker 3: Oh yes, that must be it. This is the best
- 0:08Speaker 3: of all possible worlds. Blah blah blah. I want to
- 0:11Speaker 3: live in a sauce.
- 0:14Speaker 4: Because you can live in the sauce. Don't you think
- 0:16Speaker 4: I would live in this sauce?
- 0:19Speaker 5: Four Finger Discount, dude.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Welcome to fourth a discount, the podcast where we review
- 0:39Speaker 1: the Simpsons. Every other show we do has a spiel.
- 0:42Speaker 1: The South Park is the podcast where we always have
- 0:45Speaker 1: our sales a time sign, the podcast where we discuss
- 0:47Speaker 1: everything we know about the show about nothing.
- 0:49Speaker 4: In this one, we'll just take an episode by episode.
- 0:52Speaker 4: Welcome to fourfing a discount where we're coming to both.
- 0:57Speaker 4: I'm gonna try and make a play on high definition
- 1:00Speaker 4: that you're like moving then, yeah, I gotta trying to
- 1:03Speaker 4: get the brain work where we define what this episode
- 1:06Speaker 4: is about while high high, No we are not.
- 1:10Speaker 1: He defines why high. I define it highly.
- 1:12Speaker 4: That very good point that may have made take my
- 1:15Speaker 4: life please even better? Who knows?
- 1:17Speaker 1: By the way, I'm dando.
- 1:18Speaker 4: Hey, I'm guy.
- 1:19Speaker 1: So you don't need to do it, mate, You were fine,
- 1:21Speaker 1: you were fight until I brought it up.
- 1:23Speaker 4: You were fine.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I took issue the other day. It felt like you
- 1:25Speaker 1: were upset.
- 1:26Speaker 4: I was, yeah, I like routine. I'm like Garth. I
- 1:30Speaker 4: fear change, which is why I wasn't mad on on
- 1:32Speaker 4: the opening credits.
- 1:34Speaker 1: I remember this one here, so for those of you
- 1:35Speaker 1: who haven't checked out the episode, what are you doing?
- 1:37Speaker 1: Watch it first before this into the review. But this
- 1:39Speaker 1: one is the first Simpsons episode to ever have the
- 1:42Speaker 1: new intro the HD You're not high. Yeah, not full
- 1:44Speaker 1: HD seven to twenty p so HD intro okay, but
- 1:47Speaker 1: it felt it felt like the Simpsons were getting a
- 1:50Speaker 1: new lease on life at the time. It felt specially
- 1:51Speaker 1: felt important at the time. I remember in this period,
- 1:55Speaker 1: I was still one of those ones who was just going,
- 1:57Speaker 1: let's just still watch it. The sims are still good,
- 2:00Speaker 1: are still good, and none of my friends gave a
- 2:02Speaker 1: shit anymore for good reason, like knowing No, I'm not
- 2:05Speaker 1: going to say no one cared about the Simpsons.
- 2:06Speaker 4: Anymore, but say the bloom was off.
- 2:08Speaker 1: The rosen it was, and I just wanted anything that
- 2:11Speaker 1: could possibly make the Simpsons feel somewhat relevant and cooling.
- 2:14Speaker 1: And I thought this was it because we had the
- 2:15Speaker 1: Simpsons movie where it was in HD whyscreen and it
- 2:17Speaker 1: looked great. This is the first time that's on TV.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Watching this, you can see we mentioned this off the
- 2:22Speaker 1: air last week. You said to me, it feels like
- 2:24Speaker 1: they were making an effort from a visual perspective, at
- 2:27Speaker 1: least anyway. So the crowds in the early days of
- 2:30Speaker 1: Golden Age of the Simpsons, the Golden Ear, they call
- 2:33Speaker 1: it the crowd scenes, a lot of them are just
- 2:35Speaker 1: sort of feel like it's just random scriggles, blah blah blah.
- 2:37Speaker 1: This year felt like everyone in the crowd was somebody,
- 2:39Speaker 1: or at least was designed correctly. People in the background
- 2:42Speaker 1: were doing things. There as a lot of more visual gags
- 2:44Speaker 1: that had more space to fill, and it felt like
- 2:46Speaker 1: they were trying to fill it effectively. Story Wise, very
- 2:50Speaker 1: hit and miss this one. I liked the first half.
- 2:53Speaker 1: I liked the idea of the heel who's always been
- 2:57Speaker 1: the heel dundlinger right, the mean Prince porfrom when Hammah
- 3:01Speaker 1: was was younger, actually was doing Homer a favor. He
- 3:04Speaker 1: didn't want to embarrass him. He didn't first off, he
- 3:07Speaker 1: didn't want her as a president class president, because that's
- 3:09Speaker 1: not what he wanted but secondly, he was also saving
- 3:11Speaker 1: Homer from hiself, so it was looking it was it
- 3:13Speaker 1: was both good for both things for him, so he
- 3:16Speaker 1: won advance and he also didn't want to have Hammer embarrassed.
- 3:19Speaker 1: I thought, that's that's a nice little spin on it.
- 3:21Speaker 1: But then we get the stirring of Sauce and just
- 3:23Speaker 1: basically becomes the Tales of Interest from Futurama with the
- 3:27Speaker 1: what if machine.
- 3:28Speaker 4: That's right? Yeah, yeah, I mean no, I'm I completely
- 3:31Speaker 4: agree with that. The first half actually worked pretty well.
- 3:34Speaker 4: Like you said about Dondling and how he actually easier
- 3:38Speaker 4: crusty old Dean or easier crusty old Dean. Yeah, I
- 3:42Speaker 4: love that the Dean from Homer goes to college.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Joe, what a lord?
- 3:46Speaker 4: Fantastic, I want to say, steely do.
- 3:52Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure it was. Yeah, anyway, what a Lord.
- 3:55Speaker 4: But I also liked that, you know, under different circums, Fanaci, Oh,
- 3:59Speaker 4: this Vance Connor's guy or Vance Connor.
- 4:02Speaker 1: But don't seen anything of him. Isn't that open? And
- 4:04Speaker 1: that's sort of it?
- 4:05Speaker 4: Yeah? But oh he's clearly getting his way, Yeah, just
- 4:10Speaker 4: by virtual a smile and a shoe shine. He's got
- 4:12Speaker 4: no substance. He oh, he sucks.
- 4:14Speaker 1: You know, he's always happy.
- 4:17Speaker 4: He seems like a solid dude. Or even if you
- 4:20Speaker 4: know he's in this position just by virtue of charm
- 4:24Speaker 4: or superficial reasons or whatever, he's still working at it.
- 4:28Speaker 1: And I guess you kind of and you find it
- 4:29Speaker 1: hard to root against him because he doesn't seem like
- 4:31Speaker 1: a bad person. You know, watching this, going should have
- 4:35Speaker 1: been Homer, you know, our man. It's like, this guy
- 4:37Speaker 1: seems like a nice guy.
- 4:38Speaker 4: The er based on everything that Home has been doing
- 4:40Speaker 4: over the last don't know, a couple of seasons, like yeah,
- 4:43Speaker 4: team Dance all the way. Yeah, I love Also how
- 4:46Speaker 4: Home has just been stewing over this Reverend Dance just
- 4:48Speaker 4: doesn't really give that much of a shit. It's like
- 4:51Speaker 4: that Mad Men meme, you know, where he's in the
- 4:54Speaker 4: elevator and the guy goes, oh, I feel sorry for you,
- 4:57Speaker 4: Don Draper, and Don Dreve's like, I don't think about
- 4:59Speaker 4: you at all. Oh yeah, this Van's Connor.
- 5:03Speaker 1: That was such a burn, absolute But I don't think
- 5:06Speaker 1: about you at all.
- 5:09Speaker 4: Don Draper talking about what the Lord.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Yes, now, Bobby Peterson was the dean from Home. He
- 5:14Speaker 1: goes to college, That's what you've got me Bobbie. Yeah,
- 5:16Speaker 1: you can call me Bobby and his band. Let's look
- 5:19Speaker 1: it up. He is, uh, basically for the Pretenders. He
- 5:23Speaker 1: used to play for the Pretenders.
- 5:26Speaker 4: Even cooler who Rode Home Agost Collins was a conan.
- 5:30Speaker 1: That was conan. Yeah, I don't think you will be
- 5:34Speaker 1: a bit my bartom that palful.
- 5:38Speaker 4: Hey, we're talking about other episodes. We should be talking
- 5:40Speaker 4: about to Take My Life, Please, let's talk about other episodes. No, No,
- 5:43Speaker 4: this was it takes that second half turn, which.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Is it's just got really weird. Is you've gone from
- 5:51Speaker 1: a solid story and then it was just the what
- 5:53Speaker 1: if machine? What's happening here?
- 5:54Speaker 4: Yeah? And what if episodes? I think we all might
- 5:58Speaker 4: be suckers for them on some level.
- 5:59Speaker 1: I love the future on my ones, love them because
- 6:01Speaker 1: it's like their version of any I like.
- 6:03Speaker 4: Any version of a what if episode, But they also
- 6:05Speaker 4: feel like, we can't be doing a whole lot of
- 6:08Speaker 4: work this week.
- 6:10Speaker 1: It's the Treos and it's the trilogy. That's just something different,
- 6:13Speaker 1: breaking things up, and to do it mid episode just
- 6:16Speaker 1: sort of caught me off guarded.
- 6:17Speaker 4: It's like, oh, my life could have been like this
- 6:18Speaker 4: if this had happened. Okay, well, I suppose it gives
- 6:21Speaker 4: you a little attitude to work, but invariable it's dull
- 6:23Speaker 4: and invariably going to go back to like, guess what,
- 6:25Speaker 4: your life's pretty good.
- 6:27Speaker 1: And at the end it was just this random. These
- 6:29Speaker 1: things will get to throughout the review, but at the
- 6:31Speaker 1: end it's basically where the Wall of fame and I
- 6:33Speaker 1: guess the family paid to have a plank for Homer
- 6:36Speaker 1: installed in place of Skinner. And then there's a kid
- 6:38Speaker 1: there saying I want to be like a Homer Simpson.
- 6:40Speaker 1: You're like, who, why.
- 6:42Speaker 4: How do you even know what's going on here? Are
- 6:44Speaker 4: you just kid? Are you just the kind of dummy?
- 6:47Speaker 4: It's pleased by anyone who's got a photo on LAM.
- 6:48Speaker 4: There's a whole bunch of other photos. There are actual people.
- 6:50Speaker 1: My only theory is that margin the kids paid those
- 6:53Speaker 1: people to make them feel special.
- 6:54Speaker 4: Wow, okay, well they really go on the street art.
- 6:59Speaker 3: My favorite.
- 7:00Speaker 4: Did you you think they actually paid to get Homer's
- 7:04Speaker 4: thing up on the wall. It looked to me like
- 7:05Speaker 4: it was like they were pulling like a late night
- 7:06Speaker 4: scam or something.
- 7:07Speaker 1: But but how did they get it made? It would
- 7:09Speaker 1: have cost money to make a plark, I guess. So yeah.
- 7:12Speaker 4: Anyways, favorite moments I have got you mentioned Don Dalinga.
- 7:16Speaker 4: I like how you got a bit of his backstory
- 7:18Speaker 4: about it, especially when he's on the golf course in
- 7:20Speaker 4: the retirement community, just trying to hang around and tell
- 7:22Speaker 4: his shitty stories. And no one wants'ting to do with
- 7:24Speaker 4: this guy.
- 7:24Speaker 1: It's the weird legs. Weird legs, chicken legs to talk about.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Go to think about all the girls you could have
- 7:29Speaker 1: spoken to a real sad life. Apparently again everyone's sad
- 7:33Speaker 1: and miserable. Yeah, no one's happy.
- 7:36Speaker 4: The episode's in HD. But yeah, the the episode is
- 7:40Speaker 4: poor me. I just came up with that one. You
- 7:43Speaker 4: but you could tell what else? Well? Speaking of that,
- 7:47Speaker 4: I did like home sort of like grasping for a
- 7:51Speaker 4: little bit. I hope when he goes to the Evans
- 7:52Speaker 4: color like, yeah, but beyond that smile, you're dying right,
- 7:55Speaker 4: that's actually really good life.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Well, there was another line that was good where he says,
- 7:59Speaker 1: is there any it loses? Like me knows winners like
- 8:01Speaker 1: him are miserable. One of those lines I enjoyed, just
- 8:05Speaker 1: the reveal of the right under this when they're digging
- 8:08Speaker 1: the hole up. This is the box tells us whether
- 8:10Speaker 1: the thing actually is right under this. I light it's silly,
- 8:14Speaker 1: but I liked Homer when he realizes his life could
- 8:16Speaker 1: have been rich and whatnot with that kids, I would
- 8:18Speaker 1: live in the sauce. He jumps into the sauce.
- 8:20Speaker 4: Yeah. One other thing I'd liked is the initial flashback
- 8:24Speaker 4: to high school days, which I think is being recounted
- 8:26Speaker 4: by Lenny. Yeah, because I think about the yeah teenage
- 8:31Speaker 4: Karl and I yes, yeah, that makes sense. So I
- 8:35Speaker 4: thought that was pretty funny. And those conclude my favorite.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Moments, and my final one was the we can't even
- 8:39Speaker 1: convincing that Bruce Wayne's batman? Why is he friends with Alfred?
- 8:43Speaker 1: Don't open that again. Do you have that a moment
- 8:47Speaker 1: where you're trying to explain to somebody and you feel
- 8:50Speaker 1: like they're trolling you. It's like, how can you possibly
- 8:52Speaker 1: not get this? Oh, and they just refuse to accept
- 8:56Speaker 1: that you're right, even though they probably know that you are.
- 8:59Speaker 4: I'm sure that this has happened to me in the past,
- 9:01Speaker 4: and invariably I'm like, I think just as I've gotten
- 9:03Speaker 4: old as well. Yeah, let them think it, let.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Them just let them last too short for the ship.
- 9:10Speaker 1: I actually a more positive note. We're going to talk
- 9:11Speaker 1: about this episode in a moment, guy, so strap yourselves in.
- 9:14Speaker 1: But before that, though, we were mentioning on a recent
- 9:17Speaker 1: I think it might have been Speaking of the Hill.
- 9:18Speaker 1: We're talking maybe even going no speaking the mis speak
- 9:21Speaker 1: of the Hill exclusively on our Patreon channel. We had
- 9:24Speaker 1: a bit of a mile stone here in the Dana
- 9:25Speaker 1: household over the weekend. So I set up the projector
- 9:28Speaker 1: in the living room and we're having a movie night,
- 9:30Speaker 1: and the kids selected D three, The Mney Ducks number three.
- 9:34Speaker 1: I love that, love those movies, so like they enjoyed that.
- 9:36Speaker 1: They've been watching the trilogy. They love the first and
- 9:37Speaker 1: love the second one. They've never seen the third one.
- 9:39Speaker 4: Right, it's like Battleship. But the Dano's outside because they're
- 9:42Speaker 4: like D three and Dana's going T two.
- 9:45Speaker 1: So at the end of it, Gordon Bombay sort of
- 9:47Speaker 1: stays the day. At the end, Allie sitting and he goes,
- 9:49Speaker 1: I knew Bombay would do it. I was like, wow,
- 9:54Speaker 1: seen it all No, No, it's not cite he was.
- 9:56Speaker 4: It was like it was like, oh, I knew he
- 9:58Speaker 4: would do it, you know, he's got he's got belief
- 10:01Speaker 4: in the meeting.
- 10:02Speaker 1: He's like, I knew Bombay would do it.
- 10:04Speaker 4: Amelia are still well, I mean, he's never not going
- 10:05Speaker 4: to be Bombay, but he was still Bombay in D three.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Yeah, but he either had other things going on at
- 10:10Speaker 1: the time he was at the start, and a lot
- 10:13Speaker 1: of the times things would happen, they go Bombay has
- 10:16Speaker 1: done it again. He's organized for someone to arrive Bombay.
- 10:20Speaker 1: He's like he's in the movie, but he's actually he's
- 10:22Speaker 1: in it, but he's like the book ends on.
- 10:24Speaker 4: It, you know.
- 10:24Speaker 1: But we're sitting there and then it's on Disney Plus
- 10:28Speaker 1: and pops up Skeleton Crew, a skeleton group pops out.
- 10:31Speaker 1: What's that? I said, it's the new Star Wars show.
- 10:33Speaker 1: I says, actually for kids, Nicholas, he can't watch that.
- 10:34Speaker 1: I said, no, it's for kids. I'm pretty sure it's okay.
- 10:37Speaker 1: So we put it on. He's mesmerized by it, and
- 10:38Speaker 1: I said, you know, actually, before we do this, let's
- 10:40Speaker 1: just watch the first Star Wars. I try to put
- 10:42Speaker 1: the First Star Wars on for him about a year ago,
- 10:45Speaker 1: and it's very slow. He was kind of bored, you know.
- 10:47Speaker 4: So it was made in nineteen seventy seven.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Yeah, so he just didn't quite get the lots of talking.
- 10:53Speaker 1: It was going straight over his head. But there's a
- 10:54Speaker 1: year older now and a lot changes between five and six,
- 10:57Speaker 1: so I thought we'll try it again. Nicholas says, I'm
- 10:58Speaker 1: going to bed shows. I'm gonna gave you boys to it.
- 11:02Speaker 1: And I only planned on watching the opening bit, and
- 11:05Speaker 1: then I could see that he was just into it,
- 11:08Speaker 1: and he's asking questions and I'm explaining, sort of filling
- 11:11Speaker 1: in the gaps so you can sort of understand what's
- 11:13Speaker 1: going on. Its princessly she's putting the plans into him,
- 11:15Speaker 1: so it's gonna he's getting it. And we get to
- 11:18Speaker 1: the end of the movie. So they're in the trenches.
- 11:21Speaker 1: They're called the trench. What's it called the trenches? Yea
- 11:23Speaker 1: of the Death Star and Vada shot away all the
- 11:25Speaker 1: other guys and it's down to Luke and Vader's behind him.
- 11:28Speaker 1: He is about to shoot him, and then Hahn comes
- 11:30Speaker 1: and says the day and now he goes I knew
- 11:32Speaker 1: he'd come back. He screams it. I was like, well,
- 11:35Speaker 1: holy shit, and then he shoots the shoots it in
- 11:38Speaker 1: he goes in, Elliot jumps out of his chair and
- 11:40Speaker 1: he goes, yes, I know where you go do it? Yes,
- 11:43Speaker 1: and he gives him a standing ovation. I was like,
- 11:45Speaker 1: I'm never even more proud than my son, who was
- 11:48Speaker 1: just like getting I have not seen someone react to
- 11:50Speaker 1: Star Wars like that in a long time. And it's like,
- 11:52Speaker 1: you know what, those original fucking movies are unbelievable, right, unimpeachable.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Say what you will. And about Star Wars, what Disney
- 11:58Speaker 1: you've done with it? That that first movie when those
- 12:01Speaker 1: missiles going to the death start, Elliott, he six years old,
- 12:04Speaker 1: jumped out of his chair and gave him a standing ovation.
- 12:06Speaker 4: Oh yeah, look, there's a reason I went to see
- 12:08Speaker 4: it seven times at the cinema when I was a kid.
- 12:09Speaker 1: I was and he goes, can we watch number two now?
- 12:12Speaker 1: And I was like, we will, mate. So now every
- 12:15Speaker 1: Friday night we're going to watch. I know that the
- 12:17Speaker 1: next one's gonna be Empire Strikes Back, a much darker version.
- 12:19Speaker 1: But the thing is he doesn't know about Vada yet.
- 12:22Speaker 1: I'm gonna I'm going to film his reaction to because
- 12:26Speaker 1: he hates Darth Vader because he killed Luke Dad. I
- 12:29Speaker 1: can't wait, I can't wait. Never I've never watched Star
- 12:34Speaker 1: Wars with somebody who didn't already know that that's good.
- 12:36Speaker 4: All right, Well, I'm glad that he's got his heroes,
- 12:38Speaker 4: he's got hand soul, and he's got good and Bombay.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Yeah, look, Luke is his hero.
- 12:42Speaker 4: He's got some good role models.
- 12:43Speaker 1: You're just like, I knew he'd come back to save it.
- 12:46Speaker 1: So it was just a very proud moment for me.
- 12:48Speaker 4: Yeah, it should be. That's a lovely moment.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Do you have films though, that you like to have
- 12:52Speaker 1: good twists or good moments that you want to show
- 12:54Speaker 1: to somebody and you know they I don't know about it.
- 12:56Speaker 1: You're like, you just want to see the reaction to it.
- 12:58Speaker 4: Yeah, certainly, what's a that has a twist?
- 13:00Speaker 1: That was sixth cents would have been one in the nineties, right, Yeah, Look,
- 13:04Speaker 1: it's it's.
- 13:04Speaker 4: The opposite of fun. But watching seven with someone, oh yeah,
- 13:10Speaker 4: and they don't know what happens at the end, Oh
- 13:14Speaker 4: oh that's in the box, and then yeah, what happens happens?
- 13:18Speaker 4: Like I don't feel good, but wow, that really did
- 13:23Speaker 4: a number on in a good way.
- 13:24Speaker 1: That's one of those Mandela effect films too, where you
- 13:26Speaker 1: think you see the head in the box, but you don't.
- 13:29Speaker 1: You don't see the head in the box. Everyone thinks there,
- 13:34Speaker 1: do not see the head in the box?
- 13:35Speaker 4: I got to google this.
- 13:36Speaker 1: You don't.
- 13:36Speaker 4: There's not even like a little no.
- 13:40Speaker 1: It is a vision of her smiling, of him remembering
- 13:43Speaker 1: her smile. But you you think it's.
- 13:46Speaker 4: Okay, okay, I knew there was a shot of gwynethout.
- 13:49Speaker 1: And she's just smiling. Of his memory, but your memory
- 13:53Speaker 1: says it's the head in the box. And it's like,
- 13:54Speaker 1: you never see the head in the box. But pit
- 13:57Speaker 1: in that moment, though, what's in the box, You're like, oh, anyway,
- 14:00Speaker 1: let's get into our trivia, shall we? Next question you
- 14:04Speaker 1: there eating the Beast. My first question for you is
- 14:07Speaker 1: I actually got a lot here. I feel I wanted
- 14:09Speaker 1: to pad this one out some trivia instead of actually reviewing.
- 14:11Speaker 1: My first one for you is how many days attention
- 14:13Speaker 1: as Homer get for screwing up? He's a speech that
- 14:17Speaker 1: started trying. Yeah, was it thirty five days? Ten days?
- 14:20Speaker 4: Ten days?
- 14:21Speaker 1: You're a hard ass.
- 14:22Speaker 4: That's from a dumblinger. How much does vance kind of tip? Yep,
- 14:31Speaker 4: supposedly the right amount to tip if you're in the States.
- 14:34Speaker 1: I remember in the States and this place was like,
- 14:36Speaker 1: we accept twenty five percent tips. I'm like that's nice. No, no,
- 14:40Speaker 1: it's it's you have to And I was like, you
- 14:41Speaker 1: can't make me at all, not bay you twenty five percent.
- 14:44Speaker 1: I've spent three hundred dollars here. I'm not spending more.
- 14:46Speaker 1: I already got the food. Motherfuckers, You're made me throw up.
- 14:52Speaker 1: My next question for you is where does mister Burns
- 14:54Speaker 1: offer the gig to Homer? And what?
- 14:55Speaker 2: No?
- 14:55Speaker 1: No, no, yeah, Now where does he offer him? Yeah?
- 14:58Speaker 1: Not seven G D no go back one each that
- 15:03Speaker 1: seven G.
- 15:05Speaker 4: Six F.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Yes, you may do the alphabet backwards, don't it.
- 15:11Speaker 4: No, don't do that, bad um. Most of the dance,
- 15:15Speaker 4: Connors during his little meat and greet at the plark wall,
- 15:18Speaker 4: whose bangs does he love?
- 15:21Speaker 1: It's like, oh, I know that, I know that, I
- 15:24Speaker 1: can visualize the woman. And he also has his favorite
- 15:26Speaker 1: interracial couple there as well. I'm not sure who is it.
- 15:28Speaker 1: It's Gail Gail, Yes, all right, name some of the
- 15:31Speaker 1: other people who have plarks on the wall. Well, in
- 15:35Speaker 1: the final shot where they're putting host Bhiler, Marty Lucious,
- 15:39Speaker 1: Sweet Trederic Tatum, Krusty, Mister Burns, Fat Tony Teeney, Mister Teeny,
- 15:43Speaker 1: Albato's there but with a question mark. We have Bleeding Gamas,
- 15:47Speaker 1: Murphy Hanks, Scorpio, ardiez if Rennie, wolf Castle, Pucci, Spider
- 15:50Speaker 1: Pigs there side show Bob, Lurline, Lumpkin and Gabbo.
- 15:53Speaker 4: I'm glad you said all these because that's exactly what
- 15:55Speaker 4: I was going to say. Yeah before we have rudely
- 15:57Speaker 4: interrupted to say it for you. Thanks many.
- 15:58Speaker 1: I like being rude.
- 15:59Speaker 4: Well, you're really good at it. Which club at school
- 16:05Speaker 4: is too big to fail? Which? Coming to Homer?
- 16:08Speaker 1: Which club is too big to fail? I don't know
- 16:10Speaker 1: what is it?
- 16:11Speaker 4: It's French Club?
- 16:11Speaker 1: French Club?
- 16:12Speaker 4: Okay?
- 16:13Speaker 1: What band is playing at the prom? You knew I
- 16:16Speaker 1: was gone. I knew it because I was going to
- 16:19Speaker 1: have this.
- 16:19Speaker 4: It's Larry Davis experience your name and experiencing it featuring Guy.
- 16:26Speaker 4: I'd have to if I ever started band. It's got
- 16:28Speaker 4: to be the something. It's got to be the Guy.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Davis experience no one's doing.
- 16:30Speaker 4: It's gonna be the Louise Jan's experience featuring Guy.
- 16:33Speaker 1: The Felix experience. He was playing the other night, Louise.
- 16:39Speaker 4: Phillis is Louis's a musical prodigyce Son. He was playing
- 16:42Speaker 4: the Sacks at the school concert.
- 16:43Speaker 1: The other was on the beach. It was not, unfortunately,
- 16:46Speaker 1: it was the It was on the lawn. It was
- 16:47Speaker 1: live on the lawn. It's the sequel to Sacks on
- 16:49Speaker 1: the beach. On the lawn, that's tidy.
- 16:54Speaker 4: It's usually what happens to me. I'll have sex on
- 16:56Speaker 4: the beach and that I'm lying on the.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Lawn to watch sand.
- 17:02Speaker 4: Well, I'm like Anakin.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Was one of my favorite moments now as an adult
- 17:06Speaker 1: Washington Simpsons. One of my most related moment is when
- 17:08Speaker 1: Hover and Marge got to have sex on the beach
- 17:10Speaker 1: and they're rolling on the sand. Hums like I've got
- 17:12Speaker 1: sand in my underpants and Marg's like me too, let's
- 17:14Speaker 1: go and then just leave, And I'm like that is
- 17:16Speaker 1: married life. This seems kinking, like fuck this? Oh yeah,
- 17:20Speaker 1: back to the bed.
- 17:22Speaker 4: You realize that there's only a handful of locations really
- 17:27Speaker 4: good for snuggling. Yeah, that was one of my questions. Well,
- 17:32Speaker 4: the Larry Davis experience.
- 17:33Speaker 1: I'll give you one more, Okay, This one's at the end.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Two more quickly. So at the end they're going to
- 17:38Speaker 1: go have dinnerware.
- 17:40Speaker 4: It's at a Korean place kreen bark, Yeah, where they
- 17:43Speaker 4: tell you death, like roast beef or something. Yeah.
- 17:46Speaker 1: And my final one is so he has his vice
- 17:49Speaker 1: president butt head plark his goat. What is his other gig?
- 17:54Speaker 1: So it says, I think, says vice president friend and
- 17:56Speaker 1: oh damn it part time lawn mower. That's right, Yes,
- 17:59Speaker 1: there we go. All right, that is trivia. Let's get
- 18:01Speaker 1: into stone cutters.
- 18:03Speaker 4: Stone cutters they do. They can't stop cutting those stones.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Would you like to read out the names?

- 18:28Speaker 1: and Goodness only knows what's happening. But you know, we've
- 18:30Speaker 1: still got that one hundred dollars coming in and we're
- 18:32Speaker 1: very very happy about it. But yeah, Katy G, thank
- 18:35Speaker 1: you so much for keeping the lights on, the wolf from.
- 18:37Speaker 4: The door, all that good stuff. Uh and guess what.

- 19:43Speaker 4: I gave it a red hot goo which turned out

- 20:18Speaker 1: we can get into our review of take my Life Please,
- 20:21Speaker 1: don't take my wife sleaes, take my life please.
- 20:23Speaker 4: Yes, indeed, you know the origins, of course, you know
- 20:26Speaker 4: the origins of take my wife please, get her out
- 20:28Speaker 4: of Here's comedians, right, one one comedian particular, which one
- 20:32Speaker 4: guy named Henny Youngman. Okay, very sort of it, but
- 20:35Speaker 4: very Rodney danger for your kind of thing, right, it
- 20:36Speaker 4: is kind of it. But yeah, initially sort of came
- 20:40Speaker 4: up this line, take my wife please. It became such
- 20:44Speaker 4: a thing that could just say take my wife please,
- 20:45Speaker 4: and everyone was.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Like, that's the job, he said, the thing he didn't.
- 20:49Speaker 4: Even say it in like a funny way anymore, just
- 20:50Speaker 4: said take my wife place.
- 20:51Speaker 1: I'm scared of you motherfuckers. You don't understand, he said.
- 20:57Speaker 1: Kick it. Our review of Traffic Jam on our Patreon
- 21:03Speaker 1: on Speaking of the Hill.
- 21:04Speaker 4: Yes, and all will be revealed rather than not just
- 21:07Speaker 4: saying shit, kick it, kick it, you don't understand. We've
- 21:13Speaker 4: already sort of talked about the opening credits and how
- 21:14Speaker 4: they are in Hi definition Hi definition.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's the first time since season two they've
- 21:19Speaker 1: actually updated the intro. We've had variants, variants, you like
- 21:23Speaker 1: your variants. I love a good Varian. Yeah, but this
- 21:25Speaker 1: is the first time they've just changed the intro completely
- 21:27Speaker 1: because season one the schools purple and the art goes
- 21:31Speaker 1: past just random people where they update it to what
- 21:33Speaker 1: we had for twenty years essentially almost. But now it
- 21:37Speaker 1: is HD and I liked it at first. One thing
- 21:41Speaker 1: I will say is I didn't like the TV falling
- 21:44Speaker 1: off because what they would do right for a while,
- 21:46Speaker 1: you didn't know which episode of the TV was going
- 21:48Speaker 1: to fall off. Sometimes sometimes I wouldn't. I would get anxiety,
- 21:51Speaker 1: He's going to fall off? Oh I didn't fall off.
- 21:55Speaker 1: It sounds like a problems, but the chopboard gag is
- 21:58Speaker 1: HDTV is worth every and the couch gag was padding.
- 22:03Speaker 4: Really, my notes on this very prolonged because this went
- 22:08Speaker 4: on for a while. I didn't I didn't set my
- 22:09Speaker 4: time there, but it felt like I went for maybe
- 22:11Speaker 4: like two two and a half minutes.
- 22:13Speaker 1: I think we were about two minutes into the episode
- 22:14Speaker 1: before it actually started.
- 22:15Speaker 4: Yeah, but it just felt like it went for a
- 22:17Speaker 4: very long time. But it's basically what them chasing the
- 22:20Speaker 4: couch all over the world and even into outer space.
- 22:22Speaker 1: I could have sworn we already had this couch ever before,
- 22:25Speaker 1: but it looked like it was drawn in HDC. Maybe
- 22:27Speaker 1: they updated.
- 22:27Speaker 4: Maybe maybe there's the ones where they sort of pulled
- 22:31Speaker 4: out from Springfield, America, the Earth, the Solar system, et cetera,
- 22:36Speaker 4: et cetera, et cetera. It's different to that. But yeah,
- 22:39Speaker 4: this did have the sort of a sense of the
- 22:41Speaker 4: familiar about it.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Every ear of the Simpsons to me, has their version
- 22:45Speaker 1: of the extended couch gag where you can just tell, Okay,
- 22:48Speaker 1: this episode was running short. They've patted it out with
- 22:50Speaker 1: the Golden Era. It was the Circus one and it
- 22:54Speaker 1: went for a long time teen era fell out, the
- 22:56Speaker 1: one where it would pan out and end it with homergoing,
- 22:59Speaker 1: whoa that was there? Now this is probably gonna be
- 23:01Speaker 1: the extended one. Okay, the catch, because I swear it's
- 23:04Speaker 1: been used numerous times. We'll find out.
- 23:06Speaker 4: We're gonna do more. We're not stopping here, folks, We're
- 23:08Speaker 4: going to.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Keep the stuff for discount. So the episode kicks off
- 23:13Speaker 1: with them announcing the pluck for Vance Connor. The legendary
- 23:16Speaker 1: twenty percent tip is now in the Springfield Wall of Fame,
- 23:19Speaker 1: a wall of fan that we've never seen before and
- 23:20Speaker 1: we'll probably never see again. That's correct. But yeah, someone
- 23:24Speaker 1: from the crowd, chance, you're better than us? And is
- 23:27Speaker 1: that what it is about celebrities? It doesn't feel that
- 23:29Speaker 1: way anymore, but when I was growing up, it always
- 23:31Speaker 1: felt like celebrities were better than me. Now, I think
- 23:34Speaker 1: because of social media and we see them in their
- 23:35Speaker 1: day to day lives, No, they're the same as us.
- 23:38Speaker 4: Well for a while, I mean, it was actually like
- 23:40Speaker 4: a headline in I don't know, I it was People
- 23:43Speaker 4: magazine in the US or maybe US Weekly or something
- 23:46Speaker 4: like that, but they had a they would a headline
- 23:48Speaker 4: that sort of became a bit of a punchliner stars.
- 23:50Speaker 4: They're uzz like us, and it'd be like paparazzi shots
- 23:53Speaker 4: of like you know, it'd be like fle going out
- 23:55Speaker 4: Eddie Machers, Yeah, going out to get Duncan.
- 23:58Speaker 1: He wears tracks of pants outside too. All.
- 24:01Speaker 4: It's like this Scarleton hands and she's not wearing any makeup.
- 24:05Speaker 1: By the way, shout out to Pamela Anderson who is
- 24:07Speaker 1: now just going make up free. People are giving her shit,
- 24:09Speaker 1: and I'm like, good on her.
- 24:11Speaker 4: She looks fine, she just great, good on her, good enough.
- 24:14Speaker 4: I've not seen this movie that she's in. Apparently she's
- 24:15Speaker 4: not bad at it.
- 24:16Speaker 1: Okay, I did not expect her to be the post
- 24:18Speaker 1: of child for makeup free? How would you describe it?
- 24:22Speaker 1: The movement?
- 24:23Speaker 4: But it's not really a movement, I think. I don't
- 24:25Speaker 4: know if that many people are sort of taking the
- 24:27Speaker 4: baton and running with it. But she certainly, and it's
- 24:29Speaker 4: become her thing, and ye had more power to her.
- 24:32Speaker 1: I think for an entire generation like myself growing up,
- 24:34Speaker 1: she was the poster girl. You know, she was the
- 24:36Speaker 1: idea of what beauty was, whether you believe it or not,
- 24:39Speaker 1: that's what she was the sex symbol. Right for her
- 24:41Speaker 1: to come out and do this, you're like, oh shit.
- 24:43Speaker 4: But also in a very shall we say, manufactured way,
- 24:47Speaker 4: she always looked incredibly made up her dune. Yeah, everything
- 24:51Speaker 4: was sort of perfectly put together. Yeah, and now she's
- 24:55Speaker 4: just like, well, I'm not wearing makeup anymore. It's like,
- 24:57Speaker 4: good for you. You look great. But yeah, you're right.
- 25:00Speaker 4: I mean the thing, yeah, I think of it is
- 25:02Speaker 4: with celebrities now it's very much oh, we're approachable. Yeah,
- 25:05Speaker 4: we're just like and I think there might be almost
- 25:08Speaker 4: be started a bit of a backlash of that as well.
- 25:11Speaker 4: It's like, you know, I want I think I prefer
- 25:12Speaker 4: my stars with some mystique.
- 25:14Speaker 1: So home's annoyed here though about Vance Connor, he thinks
- 25:16Speaker 1: he's just jealous basically because he thought he should have
- 25:19Speaker 1: been class president. But Vance was verted in and all
- 25:22Speaker 1: the family. But it's basically saying to him, like, that's
- 25:23Speaker 1: you're just jealous, mate, Like I said, reason this GLI's
- 25:25Speaker 1: clearly a good guy.
- 25:26Speaker 4: And also it's a pipe dream on Homers but which
- 25:28Speaker 4: as we discover a bit later as well.
- 25:30Speaker 3: Yeah, back in high school, right before I met your mother,
- 25:33Speaker 3: a simpler time when the only thing we worried about
- 25:36Speaker 3: was total nuclear annihilation.
- 25:39Speaker 1: And we have the Dvance's pitch, where basically he's slogan
- 25:43Speaker 1: is you're all advanced with Vance and Homo speech.
- 25:46Speaker 4: Which is a very good slogan.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Yeah, and then Homer tries to do his speech and
- 25:49Speaker 1: he decides going to improv and he realizes quickly, oh shit,
- 25:53Speaker 1: I can't do it. I watch his going. I can
- 25:57Speaker 1: feel that made. Sometimes you like to feel like I've
- 25:59Speaker 1: got control of this, and you're, oh, I don't. Where's
- 26:01Speaker 1: my notes?
- 26:05Speaker 4: Yeah, trying to public speak off the off the cuff.
- 26:08Speaker 4: It can I remember doing that AT's like a twenty
- 26:10Speaker 4: first speech once and I think I'd had a few
- 26:14Speaker 4: drinks and thought I was confident of that. Oh there's
- 26:15Speaker 4: going to go.
- 26:16Speaker 1: I've got this.
- 26:17Speaker 4: I just blew it.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Yeah, And when you realize you're blowing it, mid blow.
- 26:23Speaker 4: It's I talk about this a lot, but it's one
- 26:24Speaker 4: of my favorite bits from Friends, where it's Ross is
- 26:28Speaker 4: getting married, Oh yes, and yeah, Chandlers giving his speech
- 26:32Speaker 4: to these British people and he's sort of throwing in
- 26:34Speaker 4: don't get any humor, Yeah, don't get his humor at all,
- 26:36Speaker 4: and make some reference like Monty Hall or something when
- 26:39Speaker 4: talking about Albert Hall, and no one lives like, oh
- 26:43Speaker 4: my god, Perry the greatest anyway, I say this far
- 26:49Speaker 4: too off. In Advanced with Advance, Yeah, but Homer is sucking.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Up as always fucking up everything. But essentially Dunderlinger says
- 26:57Speaker 1: that you're getting ten US attention for fucking this all up.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Everyone who votes for Advance gets a half day tomorrow
- 27:01Speaker 1: or something like that. So it's just not going well
- 27:05Speaker 1: for Homer and he and he doesn't get voted in.
- 27:06Speaker 1: It's Advancer gets in. Homer says in real time, tries
- 27:09Speaker 1: to tell the family, this guy's miserable or guarantee, you know,
- 27:12Speaker 1: looks pretty happy to be tears of a clown and
- 27:14Speaker 1: loses like me. The cloud's greater than it. Losers like me,
- 27:18Speaker 1: no that winners like him always miserable. And then he
- 27:21Speaker 1: goes to talk to him, and Vance is just a
- 27:22Speaker 1: really happy guy.
- 27:23Speaker 4: Everything's going on Vance's way has been for quite some time.
- 27:26Speaker 1: Yeah, everything's coming up Vance. So now at MOS which
- 27:28Speaker 1: now says now in high definition or high death at
- 27:30Speaker 1: the front with the banner and there and basically Linnary
- 27:33Speaker 1: and Carly ask why so bothered. Homony brings up how
- 27:35Speaker 1: he lost the lost the election, and they have a
- 27:37Speaker 1: bit of a funny look and they have a flashback.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Yet they first of all, they say, what was all
- 27:40Speaker 1: the fans? He gave me a kidding, He gave me
- 27:42Speaker 1: one too, And then they have the flashback here, and
- 27:45Speaker 1: essentially what happens here is that dundling of really he
- 27:47Speaker 1: overhears two jocks say it wouldn't be funny if we
- 27:50Speaker 1: all voted for Homer and then we can all laugh
- 27:51Speaker 1: at him. Dundlinger realizes, oh shit, that's a bad case
- 27:55Speaker 1: because I'm gonna have Homer as the class president, and
- 27:56Speaker 1: b is going to be bad for Homer. So there's
- 27:59Speaker 1: good and he's doing the right thing, but also but yeah,
- 28:03Speaker 1: he's doing it for the right reasons as well. So
- 28:05Speaker 1: he gets the box with the ballot papers and he
- 28:08Speaker 1: says to Lenny and Carl, look, you need to get
- 28:10Speaker 1: rid of this for me, and they say, we'll make
- 28:12Speaker 1: a deal with you. We don't want to go to college.
- 28:13Speaker 1: We want to stay here and party for us of
- 28:14Speaker 1: our lives. So you give us all c's so we
- 28:16Speaker 1: can't get out of here, and we'll do it. So Yep,
- 28:18Speaker 1: they agree. I think he says, if you get it wrong,
- 28:20Speaker 1: you're going to be at some university.
- 28:22Speaker 4: Yeah, like Bard or somewhere.
- 28:23Speaker 1: Which one he says is had a trivia question. It
- 28:27Speaker 1: was Carnegie Mellon University.
- 28:29Speaker 4: Oh okay.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Then yeah, they're like, oh shit, I don't want to
- 28:31Speaker 1: go there. So essentially that's what happened is they've buried
- 28:33Speaker 1: the ballot papers and they read the election.
- 28:35Speaker 4: The Joe being the Carnegie Mellon is actually not a
- 28:37Speaker 4: bad school, yes.
- 28:38Speaker 1: Because that's what they don't want to go to a
- 28:40Speaker 1: good school.
- 28:40Speaker 4: That's good.
- 28:41Speaker 1: So then they met the deal and we come back
- 28:43Speaker 1: to the real time and we get al Gore here
- 28:45Speaker 1: was actually voiced by al Gore. I don't think. I
- 28:47Speaker 1: don't see his name, and that it sounds like Harry
- 28:49Speaker 1: Sheier doing an al Gore. The big fans of al
- 28:51Speaker 1: Gore at the Simpsons, Oh yeah, take me back. So
- 28:54Speaker 1: what's that about? So al Gore obviously was going against Bush. Yeah,
- 28:59Speaker 1: people say it was.
- 29:00Speaker 4: I think the general consensus that he was fucked out
- 29:02Speaker 4: of the pregnancy.
- 29:04Speaker 1: Pregnancy, let's try out again, fucked right out of that pregnancy.
- 29:08Speaker 1: He was, he was.
- 29:10Speaker 4: Screwed out of the presidency by various nefarious means of
- 29:15Speaker 4: vote counting and yeah, jiggery pokery.
- 29:18Speaker 1: All that kind of stuff.
- 29:18Speaker 4: And you know, it would have been great if Al Gore
- 29:21Speaker 4: was the president. You know, he was a progressive kind
- 29:23Speaker 4: of guy and all this kind of business and.
- 29:25Speaker 1: The personality of like a rock though a little.
- 29:27Speaker 4: Bit yeah, he might have been just a bit too
- 29:29Speaker 4: sort of shall we say subtle.
- 29:31Speaker 1: Yeah, the one thing you need with your president's showmanship,
- 29:34Speaker 1: that's true.
- 29:35Speaker 4: And well, yeah you do, as sadly as we've discovered. Yeah,
- 29:41Speaker 4: he might have just, yeah, just been too good a
- 29:44Speaker 4: politician and not enough of a showman. Although having said that,
- 29:48Speaker 4: I mean he keeps showing up on The Simpsons and
- 29:50Speaker 4: on thirty Rock and all these other shows, and you know,
- 29:52Speaker 4: making his what do you call them environmental documentaries and
- 29:55Speaker 4: things like that, became a really good spokesman what was
- 29:57Speaker 4: his documentary called Inconvenient True One?
- 29:59Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, and just being a.
- 30:01Speaker 4: Really good spokesperson and statesman for various causes. But yeah,
- 30:06Speaker 4: I think the general contents is like, wait a minute,
- 30:08Speaker 4: wasn't didn't we.
- 30:09Speaker 3: All vote brow Gore?
- 30:10Speaker 1: How do's happened? Anyway? Moving on, but there's Homer. He
- 30:15Speaker 1: can't sleep. He has to know the truth. So he
- 30:17Speaker 1: goes to Lenny and Lenny thinks he's dropping off his shovel,
- 30:19Speaker 1: but no, he wants to return to the shovel. He's
- 30:21Speaker 1: just bring the show with their blocks to Lenny because
- 30:22Speaker 1: he wants to dig up the ballot papers. So where
- 30:25Speaker 1: are they? And what was the name of the place
- 30:27Speaker 1: he lives at? By the way you can the arms? Okay,
- 30:31Speaker 1: but we get the same joke here that they made
- 30:34Speaker 1: last week I believe where someone asks what should I
- 30:36Speaker 1: wear when we go out? I think it was last week.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Marge says, yes, we're going to find Lisa and Juliet,
- 30:41Speaker 1: they'd gone missing at home, and he goes, oh should
- 30:42Speaker 1: I wear business? And the same here it goes California
- 30:45Speaker 1: casual or business. I'm like, you've just used that joke
- 30:47Speaker 1: in the last episode. Don Payne right of this episode
- 30:50Speaker 1: one pay pay attention, Yes, Painey, but honorary Australian. They
- 30:53Speaker 1: dig up the box. The first box is the box
- 30:55Speaker 1: that contains a let it tell you where to find
- 30:57Speaker 1: it and it says right under this, So you thick
- 30:58Speaker 1: it up and then ready to throw all the results.
- 31:01Speaker 2: Dance Connor Hammer Sampson, Who dance Connor Hammer Sampson, Who
- 31:07Speaker 2: dance Connor Hammer Sampson, whoa please stop doing that?
- 31:12Speaker 4: Or both?
- 31:14Speaker 2: Homer Sampson dance Connorvonsie Homer Sampson and the winner is
- 31:21Speaker 2: Homer Simpson.
- 31:23Speaker 3: Jud I'm senior class president.
- 31:25Speaker 4: I get a parking spot if the assistant principal.
- 31:28Speaker 1: Isn't using it. Yeah.
- 31:30Speaker 3: Wait a second. If I'd been class president like I
- 31:34Speaker 3: was supposed to, I'd be the one with a big
- 31:36Speaker 3: mansion and the color TVs and the hot wife. Oh, Marche,
- 31:39Speaker 3: I still would be married to you, but you would
- 31:42Speaker 3: just be hotter.
- 31:43Speaker 4: Oh yeah.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Just because you want a high school election doesn't mean
- 31:47Speaker 2: your whole life would have been better.
- 31:49Speaker 3: That's exactly what it means. And John the Linger took
- 31:52Speaker 3: that life away from me. And the taking of a
- 31:54Speaker 3: life is murder, and the punishment for murderer is well,
- 31:57Speaker 3: it varies from state to stateon by race. But I'm
- 32:00Speaker 3: going to find Doundalinga and tell him I know what
- 32:03Speaker 3: he did last summer twenty two years ago in the winter.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Come back and wrote the golf Course. And Donaldling is
- 32:10Speaker 1: there feeling like a big fish in a small pond.
- 32:12Speaker 1: I guess here just sort of mocking the vice principals
- 32:14Speaker 1: because he the assistant principles and he was the he
- 32:17Speaker 1: was the principal. I don't get the weird leg like
- 32:20Speaker 1: the gross legs gag come out. I think I seen
- 32:23Speaker 1: your legs his legs before.
- 32:24Speaker 4: Yeah, I think just wanted to take more shots at
- 32:25Speaker 4: the guy. He seems like a really sad person very much. So, yeah,
- 32:29Speaker 4: that's kind of depressing. But Hammer arives in the cart
- 32:31Speaker 4: and he wants answers and he says, I need to
- 32:33Speaker 4: teach my son to lessen their life. Doesn't turn out
- 32:34Speaker 4: the way you want, you need to blame it on
- 32:36Speaker 4: somebody else. But then he sends bart Away for something
- 32:39Speaker 4: kind of He says, because bart was order get drinks. Yeah,
- 32:42Speaker 4: go give me au.
- 32:44Speaker 1: He was order a virgin mayor, he'sa virgin. What are
- 32:46Speaker 1: you a girl? But he sends bart Away and we
- 32:48Speaker 1: have the flashback here, and this is where Donaldlue explains
- 32:51Speaker 1: why he did what he did, why he'd read the election. Now,
- 32:53Speaker 1: did you see Homer's poster?
- 32:54Speaker 4: I did.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Indeed, I was like I would vote for this guy
- 32:57Speaker 1: was at Star Wars and Rocky aggress that Jaws and
- 32:59Speaker 1: Star Wars agree, was it? It was rocky Jaws and
- 33:01Speaker 1: Star Wars.
- 33:02Speaker 4: Oh okay, yeah, that's good news. Played into something I
- 33:07Speaker 4: was going to talk about later. But anyway, that's good
- 33:09Speaker 4: Jaws and Star Wars sos that came out after it.
- 33:12Speaker 1: No, no, no, because remember we've been just king at
- 33:14Speaker 1: the hill, like Hank Hill has a joyous post. Yeah,
- 33:17Speaker 1: but this was apparently before pre Joyce. This is dalente'
- 33:19Speaker 1: da ninety seventy five and a film a bit in
- 33:21Speaker 1: uh the summer of nineteen. Are you doing a terrible
- 33:25Speaker 1: impersonation to me? That? No? Cool book guy? Okay, just
- 33:28Speaker 1: just just internet's nerdy because we were talking about so
- 33:32Speaker 1: Hank has a Jaws poster on his wall, correct on
- 33:34Speaker 1: Valentine's Day when film didn't come out for three months.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Explain it. I'm angry, make it, make it big sense,
- 33:40Speaker 1: make it makes sense. But Dunderley explains though that he
- 33:42Speaker 1: ever heard the guys. This is where he earlier on
- 33:45Speaker 1: he didn't hear the guys. This is where he explained that
- 33:46Speaker 1: he had heard it, and home's angry, but also thankfully like,
- 33:49Speaker 1: I'm annoyed, but I can see why he did it,
- 33:51Speaker 1: and then Dondel goes to have a moment with himself
- 33:54Speaker 1: to think about all the.
- 33:55Speaker 4: Girls that they could have talked to but it never did.
- 33:57Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's just really weird and sad. Then Homer's
- 33:59Speaker 1: sad at Ouigi's eating his dinner really slowly as opposed
- 34:02Speaker 1: to fast, and Luigi ever hear and says, I don't worry,
- 34:04Speaker 1: I've got a chef in the kitchen. Hoove he stores
- 34:07Speaker 1: stirs the sauce just right. You can take you back
- 34:09Speaker 1: and show you whatever. And I was like, ah, what
- 34:11Speaker 1: is going on here? It was just so weird.
- 34:13Speaker 4: It just showed me as a really dumb crutch. Yeah,
- 34:17Speaker 4: just a dumb concept though. The stirring of the sauce, I.
- 34:19Speaker 1: Mean, and it doubled down on it so much.
- 34:23Speaker 4: Why did you do a thing where you put like,
- 34:25Speaker 4: you know, I add the special mushrooms to the sauce
- 34:27Speaker 4: and it's like magic mushrooms when you ate the chili.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Yes, he has a vision, you know, that's right, this guy.
- 34:33Speaker 1: I stir the sauce and you can see.
- 34:35Speaker 4: This and yeah, this is the point note where I
- 34:38Speaker 4: stopped taking notes. But I'm gonna have to rely and
- 34:39Speaker 4: we could beat you a bit more so to what happened,
- 34:41Speaker 4: because it's like a bunch of stuff happened.
- 34:43Speaker 1: But I know they have Lisa acknowledge. You know, someone
- 34:46Speaker 1: is highly skeptical. I don't buy into this at all.
- 34:47Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, and as do all of us.
- 34:50Speaker 4: Does we don't like agree with you, Lisa.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Yes, so Homer explained, explained here Homer has the vision
- 34:56Speaker 1: obviously because he's stirring the sauce, and he says he
- 35:00Speaker 1: have been a success, and yeah, we're all worked out
- 35:02Speaker 1: well for home.
- 35:03Speaker 4: Essentially, I'm never part of me likes storylines like this,
- 35:08Speaker 4: whether in movies or TV shows of that. But whenever
- 35:12Speaker 4: you see some of this, do you think, Oh, do
- 35:14Speaker 4: you ever sort of cast your mind back? Oh? I
- 35:15Speaker 4: wonder if if this had happened, what my life would
- 35:18Speaker 4: be like now?
- 35:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I think everyone I was done, except when I
- 35:21Speaker 1: do it, then I'm like, I think I'm happy.
- 35:24Speaker 4: I don't want to sound like I'm bragging anything like that,
- 35:25Speaker 4: but it's like, I think I've had some I think
- 35:26Speaker 4: I've had a pretty good life.
- 35:27Speaker 1: Yeah I was. I was like, oh, whatever, Nikola, Look well,
- 35:30Speaker 1: I said to Nicola the other I do you think
- 35:31Speaker 1: you'd still be in Ausralia. I think would go to English.
- 35:33Speaker 1: She goes, but didn't me and you, I probably would
- 35:35Speaker 1: have gone back to England, met some dude in my town,
- 35:38Speaker 1: go to boring county job and just stayed there. He's like, yeah,
- 35:41Speaker 1: like things happen for a reason.
- 35:42Speaker 4: Absolutely that.
- 35:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, if I mean Nichol, I wouldn't have Alliott,
- 35:46Speaker 1: I wouldn't have Holly. Correct, probably I'll be still probably
- 35:49Speaker 1: living at home we Leslie.
- 35:51Speaker 4: At the same time, if I had moved away from Geelong,
- 35:53Speaker 4: I wouldn't have met Louise.
- 35:55Speaker 1: Yeah. All things just kick getting better.
- 36:00Speaker 4: By the way, tuned into going down to South Park.
- 36:01Speaker 1: Yeah, where we went gay this way, didn't we got
- 36:04Speaker 1: very gay? South fuk is gay exclamation mark exclamation mark. Yes, indeed.
- 36:07Speaker 1: But we've already had this story before as well. It's
- 36:10Speaker 1: just dawned to me as we're talking about Homer's if
- 36:12Speaker 1: you never married Marge, what his life would be like
- 36:14Speaker 1: the MINDI episode. Sure, Ah, he's rich with Mindy. I'm like, oh,
- 36:18Speaker 1: we've already done this exact story.
- 36:20Speaker 4: But let's draw it out a little bit more, yeah,
- 36:22Speaker 4: or put a little swerve on it.
- 36:23Speaker 1: And Marge is the she's mad in president.
- 36:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 36:30Speaker 1: Anyway, so he's having the vision here and he's he sees, well,
- 36:34Speaker 1: you think it's going to be Marge because there's only
- 36:35Speaker 1: one woman he's thinking about. But no, it's Debbie Pinson.
- 36:38Speaker 1: Her name he's brought up several times in the past,
- 36:40Speaker 1: but this is one of the first one I've actually seen.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Debbie Pinson's right, Yeah, yeah, Debbie Pinsonah to the prom.
- 36:45Speaker 1: She's going to be going with the quarterback. Well she
- 36:47Speaker 1: don't think he's engaged to the quarterback, she says, anyway,
- 36:49Speaker 1: but she's going to go with Homer and Marge. She
- 36:51Speaker 1: wanted to ask, but she's realized now a girl like
- 36:53Speaker 1: me can never land a Homer Simpson. Yeah, yeah, this is.
- 37:00Speaker 4: I don't like the way this was constructed.
- 37:02Speaker 1: And I know you can't be a stick off the continuity, right,
- 37:06Speaker 1: but we've already had a flashback episode where it's established
- 37:08Speaker 1: that Marge is a go getter, she's running in debate
- 37:11Speaker 1: team that kind of thing, and Homer's just a schmuck.
- 37:14Speaker 1: I guess oh, I guess it is Tolano. He's now president,
- 37:16Speaker 1: so it's changed. Yeah, I guess it's Yeah, I guess
- 37:19Speaker 1: it makes sense that timeline is now different because Home
- 37:22Speaker 1: is now the class president.
- 37:24Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean, I know this has this particular scenario,
- 37:28Speaker 4: has to run along these particular lines, but yeah, having
- 37:31Speaker 4: Marge go oh, I'll never get a homosy, for them
- 37:34Speaker 4: to not have any interactional and then for him to
- 37:36Speaker 4: suddenly throw Debbie one side and go, wait a minute,
- 37:38Speaker 4: you're the Girlfrien's like, wait, why.
- 37:40Speaker 1: How's there only two minutes left in the Episode's I
- 37:44Speaker 1: appreciate that. It's like they get to twenty minute, I
- 37:46Speaker 1: can get oh shit, oh wait a minute under rabbit up. Yeah,
- 37:49Speaker 1: quick status quote. So Lisa says, oh, that's why you
- 37:54Speaker 1: know you'd be miserable because you would never have married
- 37:56Speaker 1: your one true love in Marge no Dory. So then
- 38:00Speaker 1: they keep having the vision about the prime and he
- 38:02Speaker 1: notices Marge and pushes Debbie to the side straight away,
- 38:05Speaker 1: and she was gonna le him get to fifth base,
- 38:07Speaker 1: wasn't she.
- 38:07Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 38:08Speaker 1: But before that though, he says, can you do my
- 38:09Speaker 1: homework for me? I thought, call me crazy, but I
- 38:12Speaker 1: feel like Debbie Pinser came across like she was meant
- 38:14Speaker 1: to be the bimbo airhead, right. So him saying can
- 38:17Speaker 1: you go do my homework for me? And she's like, yeah,
- 38:19Speaker 1: I'll do that, And I'm thinking, wait, so was Debbie
- 38:21Speaker 1: Pinson nor an academic? What's going on?
- 38:23Speaker 4: Yeah? I think she was just she had hitherto unforeseen
- 38:27Speaker 4: depth and skill. Yeah, because doesn't she say? It's like, yeah,
- 38:31Speaker 4: no one's ever admired me from my brains before.
- 38:33Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true. Yeah. But then he he confesses he
- 38:36Speaker 1: Kepess's love to Marge. But he says, you know, I
- 38:38Speaker 1: think you're a bit alright. She gets shitty. She says,
- 38:40Speaker 1: you would have let him get the fifth base. I
- 38:41Speaker 1: love this something you could have told your grandchildren about.
- 38:48Speaker 3: Homie Simpson class president.
- 38:50Speaker 2: Oh my god, you're talking to me.
- 38:52Speaker 3: I learned great things have happened to me legally, but
- 38:55Speaker 3: doing nothing compared to meeting you have this dance wish forever.
- 39:02Speaker 1: Homer Simpson. I was gonna let you get to fifth base.
- 39:06Speaker 4: It would have been something you told your grandchildren about.
- 39:09Speaker 3: Sorry, Gabby, I hope you can find happiness without me.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Nos a cheerleader on the rebound?
- 39:19Speaker 3: How you really?
- 39:22Speaker 1: So they're arriving home and Patty and Summer think that
- 39:24Speaker 1: Homer is quite attractive, right, I was bothered by this line.
- 39:28Speaker 1: I shouldn't have been, but just shits me. Right, So
- 39:32Speaker 1: Patty says, here in this reality, I'm not gay? Right.
- 39:37Speaker 1: But the thing is, how many times have we had
- 39:40Speaker 1: Simpson's episodes for the Golden Ear? She wasn't gay, She
- 39:43Speaker 1: wasn't she didn't come out as gay, she found men attractive,
- 39:46Speaker 1: So why was she didn't go? Yeah, in this timeline,
- 39:48Speaker 1: I'm not gay.
- 39:49Speaker 4: I know, I know. I wish I could explain it
- 39:54Speaker 4: makes sense. I wish I could make it make sense,
- 39:55Speaker 4: but I can't.
- 39:56Speaker 1: Two minutes ago, then Burns are just randomly driving past,
- 39:59Speaker 1: and you want to offer this guy why why is
- 40:02Speaker 1: Ben's driving bus another not looking for scap people?
- 40:05Speaker 4: This is an alternate rias, it's not. It's not Homer's
- 40:07Speaker 4: fantasy as well, that's the thing.
- 40:09Speaker 1: So Homes offered the job at six F because he
- 40:12Speaker 1: says to Smith's suggests seven G and he says no,
- 40:15Speaker 1: it's for the lenity in the cars in the world,
- 40:16Speaker 1: because he apparently knows his linearing Carl is at this point.
- 40:18Speaker 1: So Homer's now really successful. I did like the reveal here,
- 40:21Speaker 1: so you think he's just getting home to a normal,
- 40:23Speaker 1: normal house. No, that's he's that's great grand Buzz. It's
- 40:26Speaker 1: a graanny flat, Grainny flat essentially, which is their their house.
- 40:28Speaker 1: He lives in this giant manchion whars, which is where
- 40:30Speaker 1: Flannder's house would have been. They acknowledge that, but Flanner's
- 40:33Speaker 1: obviously doesn't exist as universe correct to the house because
- 40:35Speaker 1: his house is the mansion. He's got no kids because
- 40:38Speaker 1: you know, you were protection. We didn't have any kids.
- 40:41Speaker 1: So they say, that's what's missing from your life. You're
- 40:43Speaker 1: not going to be having any kids. Hope wants to
- 40:44Speaker 1: living the source. Homer is asleep in his kiddy pool. Now,
- 40:49Speaker 1: he's just he's depressed, he's sad. It's when we get
- 40:51Speaker 1: out of the pool. He's got algae growing on his
- 40:53Speaker 1: arms and whatnot. They tell him to come inside. I
- 40:56Speaker 1: like that the pool has just now moved to inside.
- 40:59Speaker 1: And they explain they're trying to convinced me, he says.
- 41:01Speaker 1: He says to them, this is where you try to
- 41:03Speaker 1: convince me that my life is okay and it's all
- 41:04Speaker 1: worked out well, blah blah blah. And I'm like, dude,
- 41:06Speaker 1: you've got a pretty fucking good Oh yeah, what are
- 41:09Speaker 1: you complaining about you could have been I get that, but.
- 41:12Speaker 4: Dude, you're punching above your weight, you know.
- 41:16Speaker 1: I guess in that reality though, he also was punched
- 41:18Speaker 1: above his weight and he was rich, so I can
- 41:23Speaker 1: I guess I too want to live in the source.
- 41:26Speaker 1: But they have discussion about Batman and whatnot, and then
- 41:28Speaker 1: they take him to show the Wall of Fame and
- 41:31Speaker 1: he's up, what do you think he's line here about Nixon?
- 41:33Speaker 3: Why would you bring me here? It's like bringing Richard
- 41:36Speaker 3: Nixon to the water Gate Kevin Kostner to water World.
- 41:40Speaker 4: Not unfunny.
- 41:41Speaker 1: And he's got his own park now. I guess they
- 41:43Speaker 1: paid to have put there and replaced skinners. The little
- 41:46Speaker 1: boy wants a photo with Homer. It's just really bizarre.
- 41:49Speaker 4: Yeah, is this kid just so starved for role models
- 41:53Speaker 4: or anything like that?
- 41:54Speaker 1: The guy's you know as well, he's like, you know,
- 41:55Speaker 1: one day, we can't all be Homer Simpsons. And I
- 41:57Speaker 1: was like, yeah, you're a cinema you well, who is
- 42:00Speaker 1: this guy? You're a cynical person, you're of a mind?
- 42:02Speaker 1: Yeah that marginally, And the kids paid off this dude
- 42:06Speaker 1: and his kid to pump up home his tires a
- 42:08Speaker 1: bit it's not outside the realms of possibility. It's the
- 42:12Speaker 1: only logical explanation as to why this's gonna be happening.
- 42:14Speaker 1: You're looking for logic in this, that's that's your first mistake.
- 42:16Speaker 1: But logically they do go to get some crean barbecue.
- 42:18Speaker 1: That does make sense.
- 42:19Speaker 4: That does Indeed, have you've been a agaree enjoined? Yeah,
- 42:22Speaker 4: lagia or whatever?
- 42:23Speaker 1: Very good, it's not bad bad. It didn't spell it
- 42:27Speaker 1: my death though. That's true, and so sometimes it's not
- 42:30Speaker 1: authentic Korean beef. Then is it that?
- 42:32Speaker 4: Sometimes whant to say not bad that means eh. Sometimes

- 45:02Speaker 4: One point goes too. And this gave Daniel On a
- 45:06Speaker 4: little bit of misunderstanding. Oh yeah, so I'm gonna be
- 45:09Speaker 4: very precise in how I say this title the Butterfly elect.
- 45:14Speaker 1: Butterfly electcause I usually thought you said, but you said
- 45:17Speaker 1: one point's gonna get a butterfly effect, and I was like,
- 45:19Speaker 1: that's all what you said, That's what I thought you
- 45:21Speaker 1: it was said, and I was like, where's the creativity?
- 45:25Speaker 1: You know the butterfly I was like, I get that,
- 45:26Speaker 1: that's just the name of it. And you look at
- 45:28Speaker 1: me so dumbfound and I went something we've missed. Something
- 45:30Speaker 1: has happened here.
- 45:31Speaker 4: We were having we were having a condescension off. It
- 45:33Speaker 4: was fantastic because Dan I was looking me, I know
- 45:36Speaker 4: what the butterfly effect mean, and I'm like, yeah, but
- 45:40Speaker 4: do you know what the butterfly elect me? It was
- 45:43Speaker 4: like the the unstoppable force meeting me, a movement of object,
- 45:46Speaker 4: except with mutual fucking what who are elect?
- 45:52Speaker 1: I won this round? And who won this round? That
- 45:55Speaker 1: one will be heavy on me.
- 45:56Speaker 4: Look it is Kyle, well uncle Kyle with the butterfly effect.
- 46:01Speaker 1: So that puts him hang on. One point is now
- 46:04Speaker 1: you got what I did.
- 46:05Speaker 4: I didn't said butterfly effect, I met elect butterfly elect.
- 46:09Speaker 1: That'll teach him. That'll shore third position now at the
- 46:12Speaker 1: moment current with Brian Hughsey Hughes seven points wild on
- 46:15Speaker 1: clever Kyle.
- 46:16Speaker 4: Also important to point to point out I'm showing you
- 46:19Speaker 4: a little bit behind the scenes. Shenanigan's here. But as
- 46:22Speaker 4: you know, as I've often repeated, the guy David's New
- 46:25Speaker 4: Name challenge is done blind. I just pick out the names.
- 46:27Speaker 4: I think they're cool. I don't know who. I don't
- 46:29Speaker 4: know who did them. I mean, goodness knows. I love
- 46:31Speaker 4: your clever Carle, but you know, I didn't know that
- 46:32Speaker 4: you came up with the butterfly effect. And Dana says
- 46:36Speaker 4: to me when he's looking at who's getting these particular like,
- 46:38Speaker 4: I don't know how you do this, but you're making
- 46:41Speaker 4: this very very interesting, interesting, very well, let's not do that.
- 46:47Speaker 4: Nineteen seventy seven. Uh two points those two points sliding dotes.
- 46:54Speaker 1: That is his name. He's yeah, and he's getting pretty
- 46:57Speaker 1: far away. Now he's down fourteen points of shit. That
- 47:00Speaker 1: makes him five points clear of Phil Hawkins. So he's
- 47:03Speaker 1: five points clear. Now we're halfway through the season. You
- 47:05Speaker 1: can still catch up to him. So yeah, So two
- 47:09Speaker 1: points goes to jerush Neplis from fourteen points five clear
- 47:12Speaker 1: of second.
- 47:13Speaker 4: Will Phil ever get his jay back? Who knows? Yes?
- 47:16Speaker 4: Let's find out when we give three points to source code.
- 47:21Speaker 1: Source Code is in smutter sauce. It's not bad. That
- 47:25Speaker 1: would be Philip J. Hawkins. What it gets the j
- 47:28Speaker 1: because it's a three pointer. So he was five behind
- 47:31Speaker 1: and now he's actually gained on your name. He's Jared
- 47:35Speaker 1: this week he's coming back.
- 47:37Speaker 4: See, I didn't know any of that. I didn't know
- 47:40Speaker 4: any of that.
- 47:40Speaker 1: And it's all just working out. Clever Carl Dan.
- 47:43Speaker 4: I was so happy when he when he sort of
- 47:44Speaker 4: pointed that ad to me, and I'm happy hearing it.
- 47:47Speaker 1: So Phil Hawkins is now two points away from being
- 47:49Speaker 1: Philip JA again. Him and Jared immovable objects versus the
- 47:54Speaker 1: unstoppable bang. Who's gonna win? Clever Carr? And the answer
- 48:00Speaker 1: is day press Jem Now. Uh, garaw is just hanging
- 48:03Speaker 1: hang motherfuckers, you just wait.
- 48:08Speaker 4: Garode is pulling that thing.
- 48:10Speaker 1: Uh, he's not doing anything. You know, it's gonna be good.
- 48:15Speaker 4: Every once in a while, something would come up my
- 48:17Speaker 4: YouTube algorithm, like motivational speeches or something, and it's usually
- 48:20Speaker 4: you know, a picture of like Chris Hemsworth and extraction
- 48:23Speaker 4: or something can pull a really stern face. But the
- 48:25Speaker 4: thing is like it disappear for six months. Ghost everybody
- 48:30Speaker 4: come back and shut the world with the new skills.
- 48:32Speaker 1: That's Garrow, that's what he's doing. He's gonna do it.
- 48:35Speaker 4: Oh yeah, he's just like he's doing like a Rocky
- 48:37Speaker 4: four thing. He's like climbing mountains and ship and you know,
- 48:40Speaker 4: with a with a big power on his back. No
- 48:45Speaker 4: hit him.
- 48:46Speaker 1: You don't understand it. Scared of you motherfuckers. Take it.
- 48:52Speaker 1: That's we're talking a lot about.
