- 1:21Speaker 3: so we're rolling.
- 1:22Speaker 5: Bar two was up early. He was up with the roosters.
- 1:27Speaker 3: I have a rooster behind my house, and I mean
- 1:31Speaker 3: he's like I don't know a few hundred yards away
- 1:33Speaker 3: because there's anyway. And he roosters all day, and so
- 1:39Speaker 3: Wendy and we think it's funny.
- 1:41Speaker 5: It doesn't bothers.
- 1:43Speaker 3: And in fact, I think it may be lewis Lerosa's house,
- 1:46Speaker 3: who owns Lose Full Serve.
- 1:48Speaker 5: He is a brilliant chef.
- 1:51Speaker 3: But Wendy calls it roostering because he does it all day,
- 1:55Speaker 3: every ten seconds. And we were floating in the water
- 1:58Speaker 3: on Sunday and we were, you know, having a lake
- 2:03Speaker 3: beverage and just chill it out and talking about life
- 2:07Speaker 3: and just listening to him rooster.
- 2:08Speaker 5: And it was like three o'clock in the afternoon. I
- 2:11Speaker 5: don't know if that's normal rooster.
- 2:13Speaker 3: I thought they just got up with the sunshine and
- 2:15Speaker 3: then they chilled for a minute and then they got
- 2:17Speaker 3: back into roostering. I'm not sure. I feel like we
- 2:20Speaker 3: will have a Southern guy that will be a rooster insider.
- 2:26Speaker 3: In five four three two one, build a deck guy
- 2:32Speaker 3: on the Dancing Rabbit golf tax line six oh one
- 2:36Speaker 3: eight eight five three seven seven six bow bounds bar
- 2:41Speaker 3: two with you you can find us on X at
- 2:44Speaker 3: bow Bounds and then the Stell Artois collar line is
- 2:50Speaker 3: six oh one seven zero seven thirty seven fifty. Bar
- 2:54Speaker 3: two is Matrix Analytical on Twitter. Is that ciprix, CFP
- 2:59Speaker 3: matrixp on Twitter? Yeah, c FB matrix on Twitter. We
- 3:04Speaker 3: went to Kessler Prime last night. We had a good meal.
- 3:08Speaker 3: We met with some p ones and good friends and
- 3:11Speaker 3: just had a just a fun whiskey sixty one feast
- 3:16Speaker 3: is what really, that's what the brand was all about.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Good friends, good uh drinks and damn good steaks, a
- 3:25Speaker 3: bunch of protein and so on. Oh and Bar two
- 3:28Speaker 3: had soft shell crab. He had fried soft sholl So
- 3:30Speaker 3: that's not something they have all the time up in Portland.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Just like, yeah, I.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Was like to have something like we don't get at home, right,
- 3:36Speaker 3: And so the waiter was like, here's one of the specials.
- 3:39Speaker 3: He dropped a soft shell crab on you and it
- 3:42Speaker 3: was fantastic, delicious.
- 3:44Speaker 5: Yeah, what did you have? The New York strip?
- 3:48Speaker 1: New York strip.
- 3:49Speaker 3: So I don't usually go New York strip and I
- 3:53Speaker 3: usually go Ribi or fil A. I like a New
- 3:56Speaker 3: York strip, but that New York strip last night I
- 3:59Speaker 3: got at Pittsburgh Rare and it was fantastic. So we
- 4:02Speaker 3: had a good time there. So Diamond, Dave and I
- 4:06Speaker 3: will be you know, rolling here for and straight funk.
- 4:10Speaker 3: Jackson met us for three hours. It's gonna be a
- 4:14Speaker 3: big time, big show. And then we'll do another three
- 4:16Speaker 3: or four tomorrow and then we're gonna put this crazy
- 4:19Speaker 3: you know what on a plane tomorrow afternoon because he's
- 4:23Speaker 3: got he's got a The love Birds have to go
- 4:25Speaker 3: to Hawaii, so he's got to he's got to get
- 4:28Speaker 3: out of here and enjoy the water and and go
- 4:31Speaker 3: skinny dipping out in the Pacific.
- 4:34Speaker 5: So yesterday was.
- 4:36Speaker 3: The first day of SEC media days. Jackson, do you
- 4:38Speaker 3: mind pulling up the list for today? I know you
- 4:40Speaker 3: went over it with me, but I can't remember it.
- 4:42Speaker 3: I just remember levees in between Kiffin and Sark, which
- 4:45Speaker 3: is hilarious.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Uh, God, bless him.
- 4:48Speaker 3: I mean, I know Levy's a good guy, but you're
- 4:50Speaker 3: talking about nobody caring. And and yesterday drink Witz actually
- 4:56Speaker 3: was good and Hypel got a little you know, I
- 5:02Speaker 3: thought that was interesting what he said about Kiffin coming
- 5:04Speaker 3: to Knoxville and loading up on mustard and golf balls.
- 5:07Speaker 4: He was having fun though he was right, he was
- 5:09Speaker 4: having fun. And Greg was not having fun.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Greg Sankey was in a foul mood, and we love
- 5:15Speaker 3: to see people either happy or mad. If you're just
- 5:19Speaker 3: in between, it's not interesting. So Greg's Greg woke up
- 5:24Speaker 3: on the wrong side of the bed, even though he
- 5:27Speaker 3: makes ten million dollars a year and gets to fly
- 5:29Speaker 3: around on a private plane, which is great. But yeah,
- 5:36Speaker 3: I think Sankey's trying to figure out Bar two how
- 5:41Speaker 3: this is all going to show. We are going to
- 5:43Speaker 3: expand the playoff. It's just a matter of win. Greg
- 5:47Speaker 3: Sanky and the SEC don't want twenty four teams. The
- 5:50Speaker 3: Big ten does want twenty four teams. It sure sounds
- 5:54Speaker 3: like the SEC wants to go to sixteen and call it.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Bar two and I were talking this morning when I
- 6:00Speaker 3: picked him up at the hotel, and Bartoo agrees with me,
- 6:06Speaker 3: the G five doesn't need to be in it.
- 6:09Speaker 1: The two.
- 6:10Speaker 3: I recognize that we need a G five final four,
- 6:12Speaker 3: two semi final games in a championship game. That'd be
- 6:15Speaker 3: a ton of fun as playoffs, but they don't.
- 6:18Speaker 5: We don't need too. Lane and James Madison.
- 6:20Speaker 1: No, especially now with an Il.
- 6:22Speaker 4: I mean, everything's watered down, right, and and they've already
- 6:26Speaker 4: pulled the decent. You know, most of the good G
- 6:30Speaker 4: six is up right, we pull up, We pulled up Cincinnati,
- 6:36Speaker 4: and and I believe that too much of the time
- 6:41Speaker 4: with college football is we look back on what was
- 6:45Speaker 4: and expect that to be where it is today, right right,
- 6:49Speaker 4: Like that Cincinnati team that went twelve and zero that
- 6:53Speaker 4: still probably wasn't top four, was awful damn good that
- 6:56Speaker 4: that that kind of team in the G six is
- 6:58Speaker 4: never coming back through the door.
- 6:59Speaker 3: Yeah, and they want as impossible, even as good as
- 7:01Speaker 3: they were for that time, they weren't good enough even then.
- 7:05Speaker 4: Right But but but to have that quality of a
- 7:07Speaker 4: team in today's nil you.
- 7:10Speaker 5: Can't do it, That's right.
- 7:11Speaker 4: They do not have the money to keep those players,
- 7:15Speaker 4: no way, full stop.
- 7:19Speaker 1: And so.
- 7:21Speaker 4: As much as I love the opportunity for them to
- 7:25Speaker 4: be there, I don't want to watch it, right right, No, right, well,
- 7:32Speaker 4: and it's and it's like we talk about going to
- 7:33Speaker 4: twenty four games. I don't want to watch eight and
- 7:35Speaker 4: four teams either.
- 7:36Speaker 5: No, No, I'm with you, right, I don't need to
- 7:39Speaker 5: see But if I am, I want them, I want
- 7:41Speaker 5: them all to be P four.
- 7:43Speaker 4: I know, but I don't need to see Texas A
- 7:45Speaker 4: and M is eight and four, having lost one out
- 7:47Speaker 4: of every three games.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Go play a playoff game they got beat, go home,
- 7:50Speaker 1: knock it off.
- 7:52Speaker 3: You know, I will say this nine and three is, well,
- 7:55Speaker 3: if we don't go to twenty four and we go
- 7:56Speaker 3: to sixteen, nine and three is going to get in
- 7:59Speaker 3: from the SEC in the Big ten. Yeah, because we
- 8:01Speaker 3: got to fill Well, I'm sorry if we extrapolate, if
- 8:05Speaker 3: they take out the G five teams, which will open
- 8:08Speaker 3: up one or two spots more a year for the
- 8:10Speaker 3: four conferences. Right, we're going to have nine in three teams.
- 8:15Speaker 3: We have to Yeah, right, we mis the math, We
- 8:18Speaker 3: have to.
- 8:18Speaker 4: Yeah, we're you know, you look at the history of
- 8:21Speaker 4: the top twenty five and it's pretty rare that we
- 8:25Speaker 4: get down to eight and four and eight and four
- 8:28Speaker 4: Auburn gets in and it squeaked in the top twenty five. Yeah,
- 8:31Speaker 4: you know, and when it comes down to eight and
- 8:33Speaker 4: four teams, the four lost team is always an SEC team.
- 8:36Speaker 4: That's the way the top twenty five has always worked.
- 8:38Speaker 4: It's gravitated towards that naturally.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Right. I don't think a lot of people realize this
- 8:43Speaker 1: is that.
- 8:45Speaker 4: Over the years, over the last twenty years, I think
- 8:47Speaker 4: we'd all agree that really the best overall depth of
- 8:50Speaker 4: football has been the SEC. Okay, I think it's a
- 8:54Speaker 4: whole lot less so now today than it was before.
- 8:57Speaker 4: I think a lot of the discussion of the strength
- 8:59Speaker 4: of the conference is rooted in what it did in
- 9:02Speaker 4: the past, not where it is today. But you look
- 9:05Speaker 4: at the history of the top twenty five, the AP
- 9:07Speaker 4: Top twenty five. In the rare cases where there is
- 9:10Speaker 4: an eight and four team, there's a slot at the
- 9:12Speaker 4: bottom twenty four to twenty five, it's an eight and
- 9:14Speaker 4: four team.
- 9:16Speaker 1: It's the SEC.
- 9:17Speaker 3: May I can remember all miss Mississippi State, Like Bar
- 9:20Speaker 3: two said, Auburn, R A, and M teams coming in
- 9:23Speaker 3: at eight and four. They had a night, a real
- 9:25Speaker 3: nice year, but they were going to finish twenty four.
- 9:30Speaker 4: All the voters are putting the better strength to schedule
- 9:34Speaker 4: teams in there.
- 9:36Speaker 3: Sankee said he had an unsatisfactory phone call with the
- 9:40Speaker 3: College Football Playoff Committee on what the nine games should
- 9:44Speaker 3: mean for the SEC.
- 9:45Speaker 5: Bar two and back in a second.
- 10:02Speaker 2: What before.
- 10:29Speaker 4: The weakest plus one ever?
- 10:31Speaker 2: Swetch you bootie, good morning to you.
- 10:34Speaker 3: We are the out of Bounds Show, ESPN one oh
- 10:37Speaker 3: five nine. The Zone and we're brought to you by
- 10:40Speaker 3: Pearl River Resort. Will be live from Dancing Rabbit Golf
- 10:43Speaker 3: Club tomorrow. Uh Bo Bounds Dave bar two with you.
- 10:47Speaker 3: We have ice cream drinks with us too. He made
- 10:50Speaker 3: it here. I can't believe it. He doesn't even he
- 10:52Speaker 3: can't believe it. He has three nicknames on the show,
- 10:57Speaker 3: double down because at times he's a degenerate gambler, ice
- 11:02Speaker 3: cream drinks because he drinks like a he's pledging us already,
- 11:06Speaker 3: and straight funk because I don't remember how that one
- 11:10Speaker 3: came about.
- 11:10Speaker 5: But you know he likes it. He likes it.
- 11:13Speaker 4: Yeah, we give Jackson what he likes them. That's right,
- 11:15Speaker 4: even though we can't get to work on time.
- 11:18Speaker 5: But man, what about him today? Here? You were here
- 11:22Speaker 5: kind of was it early?
- 11:24Speaker 4: It was seven minutes before the top of the hour,
- 11:26Speaker 4: you said a minute to two minutes before the top
- 11:28Speaker 4: of the hour.
- 11:29Speaker 1: He like exceeded it by three.
- 11:30Speaker 5: He really did.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Just knock it out of the.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Man.
- 11:34Speaker 5: That's what they called me, all right.
- 11:36Speaker 3: I did take a couple of notes last night when
- 11:40Speaker 3: we were at dinner.
- 11:41Speaker 6: Okay, well, I mean I need to know more about it,
- 11:45Speaker 6: Like what else did it? I mean, did y'all get
- 11:47Speaker 6: a plethora? Was it just everything was there?
- 11:50Speaker 3: Well, we started with fried crab calls and to Molly's well,
- 11:55Speaker 3: it's a good start. Yeah, that's a real good start
- 11:57Speaker 3: and some great conversation and then uh and then everybody
- 12:03Speaker 3: had steaks, different different cuts, and uh no, Kendall went
- 12:09Speaker 3: soft shell crab for the entree bar two got soft
- 12:13Speaker 3: shell crab as a side with.
- 12:14Speaker 6: His New York strip, like a double up on the way. What, Yeah,
- 12:18Speaker 6: you got a whole shell crab on there.
- 12:20Speaker 1: They're just yeah, a little bit of everything, little cream spinach.
- 12:23Speaker 5: It's just like getting the bacon wraps.
- 12:25Speaker 3: I mean the bacon wrap shrimp is actually more filling
- 12:27Speaker 3: than that. Yeah, so, I mean it's delicious, but it's.
- 12:30Speaker 6: Did anyone order incorrect? Did anyone order something you shouldn't
- 12:35Speaker 6: have ordered? Or away you shouldn't have ordered?
- 12:37Speaker 2: Order?
- 12:38Speaker 3: Now, we had a bunch of we we we had
- 12:39Speaker 3: a bunch of professionals.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Good.
- 12:41Speaker 5: You know, I'm not inviting amateurs to.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Damn Rainbow trout, you know.
- 12:48Speaker 3: I just We're not. We're not doing that. And then
- 12:52Speaker 3: tonight he gets the well and order whatever he wants.
- 12:54Speaker 3: But uh, obviously file at strip Rabbi, but the bone
- 12:58Speaker 3: and rabbit Philip.
- 12:59Speaker 5: Ems is and oh, I gotta get in a cup
- 13:02Speaker 5: of saffron choud.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:03Speaker 5: Start even though it's it's hot, doesn't matter.
- 13:07Speaker 3: It doesn't matter. You know what Philip Ms will be.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Their condition will be pumping, always freezing in there. Yeah,
- 13:12Speaker 3: feels great, it does. I didn't have an Elijah Krag
- 13:17Speaker 3: last night. May have to have one tonight just because
- 13:21Speaker 3: Bar two's in town, you know.
- 13:23Speaker 5: Yeah, Manhattan or old Fashioned? Not sure yet.
- 13:26Speaker 3: I've got twelve hours to decide Bar two and I
- 13:28Speaker 3: will probably land in Philip Ms about five fifteen this afternoon,
- 13:33Speaker 3: and then we're gonna rip at least three, if not
- 13:35Speaker 3: four hours tomorrow. All right, Diamond, Dave, you know what
- 13:40Speaker 3: one thing that we brought up last night. I don't
- 13:42Speaker 3: remember if it was you or John. I think y'all
- 13:44Speaker 3: were in a back and forth, which is fun coaching unicorns.
- 13:50Speaker 5: Were we talking about Mullen?
- 13:51Speaker 1: We were talking.
- 13:52Speaker 4: We were talking about mullin okay, about that okay, and
- 13:57Speaker 4: how his closest.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Guy.
- 14:02Speaker 4: Yes, right, because we went for everybody who should tune
- 14:07Speaker 4: into the YouTube channel.
- 14:08Speaker 1: You and I did almost two hours yesterday. God, we
- 14:10Speaker 1: did NonStop.
- 14:14Speaker 4: And so one of the things that the database allows
- 14:20Speaker 4: me to do is looking at coaches in a way
- 14:22Speaker 4: I've never been able to on the fly. And we
- 14:26Speaker 4: talked last you know the Unicorn, and what we talked
- 14:29Speaker 4: about at the YouTube channel show yesterday had to do
- 14:33Speaker 4: with coach effect and how Dan is one of only
- 14:37Speaker 4: two guys so since twenty ten, Dan Mullin is one
- 14:41Speaker 4: of two head coaches to improve the coach effect at
- 14:47Speaker 4: three consecutive stops. So when Dan showed up at Mississippi State,
- 14:52Speaker 4: he improved it over the guy before him. Then his
- 14:56Speaker 4: coach effect at Mississippi State compared to Florida, it was
- 14:58Speaker 4: better at Florida, and albeit one year at UNLB, that
- 15:03Speaker 4: one year at UNLB was better than Florida entire time.
- 15:07Speaker 1: So he was plus coach.
- 15:09Speaker 4: Effect three consecutive stops at three consecutive programs. There's only
- 15:14Speaker 4: one other guy since twenty ten. And this is why
- 15:16Speaker 4: coaching is so hard is in college football is in general,
- 15:21Speaker 4: is there isn't a guy that has gone up, up, up,
- 15:26Speaker 4: outside of Dan mullum. There's one other guy that has
- 15:28Speaker 4: gone improve, improve, improve, now was Link.
- 15:32Speaker 3: Even and both of them coached in the State of
- 15:35Speaker 3: Mississippi at rivals Nuts.
- 15:38Speaker 5: That's crazy, right, it is.
- 15:40Speaker 4: And then you think about Lane and all of the
- 15:43Speaker 4: tribute you know, trials and tribulations he's gone through as
- 15:45Speaker 4: a head coach.
- 15:46Speaker 1: He still improved. Still, he had a negative.
- 15:50Speaker 4: Coach effect before FAU at USC, but he improved.
- 15:54Speaker 1: USC over what was there before.
- 15:57Speaker 4: Yeah, and then he gets to FAU and obviously after
- 16:00Speaker 4: the first year, boom takes off. Ole Miss after the
- 16:04Speaker 4: first year boom takes off even more.
- 16:07Speaker 2: So.
- 16:07Speaker 4: It is extremely rare to have a head coach be
- 16:11Speaker 4: able to do that, not just at one place. It
- 16:13Speaker 4: takes a good coach to go from good to great
- 16:16Speaker 4: and maintain it like Dan did at Mississippi State, like
- 16:21Speaker 4: Lane did at ole Miss and FAU and so forth,
- 16:24Speaker 4: but to do it in three consecutive places. There's nobody
- 16:28Speaker 4: else in the FBS that has done it since twenty ten.
- 16:33Speaker 3: This twenty ten, Dan Mullen and Lane Kiffen one who
- 16:36Speaker 3: coached at Mississippi State, wont at ole Miss. That is,
- 16:41Speaker 3: what are the odds that they come through this state
- 16:45Speaker 3: and both coach at different SEC schools within the state
- 16:50Speaker 3: of Mississippi.
- 16:51Speaker 5: Part two and Jay Meadows, I mean it's crazy. When
- 16:55Speaker 5: you threw that out yesterday.
- 16:57Speaker 3: I can't even believe this much of football, pro and
- 17:01Speaker 3: college runs through this state, just players and different things.
- 17:06Speaker 5: But that's wild.
- 17:09Speaker 3: So yeah, two of the coaching unicorns in the state
- 17:12Speaker 3: of Mississippi, without a doubt, in college football and all
- 17:17Speaker 3: of college football. Lane Keffin and Dan Mullen. Yeah yeah, now,
- 17:20Speaker 3: and both will always be a part of the state.
- 17:23Speaker 3: They will always be part of the fabric. Their fingerprints
- 17:26Speaker 3: will always be here. They will be mentioned forever in
- 17:29Speaker 3: some way, shape or form, whether people like them or
- 17:31Speaker 3: don't like them. They had an impact of economic now
- 17:34Speaker 3: as far as there are hundreds and hundreds of millions
- 17:36Speaker 3: of dollars of impact on start on Oxford.
- 17:38Speaker 5: That's insane.
- 17:40Speaker 3: What Dan and Dak did, What Lane and Corral, Slash
- 17:43Speaker 3: Dark and Trinidad did, good gosh.
- 17:46Speaker 5: Just and it was at the right time.
- 17:48Speaker 3: With new media and more access and more streaming and
- 17:53Speaker 3: all that you get every single game, even when you
- 17:55Speaker 3: play lomon Roe and Wafford. So it's kind of crazy,
- 17:59Speaker 3: bo Bound stay bar two with you coaching unicorns in
- 18:02Speaker 3: this state. I start with Lane one and Dan one A.
- 18:05Speaker 3: But they're the two best ever and we also talked
- 18:08Speaker 3: about how player evaluation.
- 18:11Speaker 5: Has never been more important.
- 18:13Speaker 3: It's an eye roll with some of the college football fans,
- 18:17Speaker 3: but with the portal and you got to go so fast,
- 18:24Speaker 3: you know again, I referenced it last night, and bar
- 18:27Speaker 3: Two's talked to a million coaches over the years. I'll
- 18:30Speaker 3: never forget what Tony Hughes told me about Dan Mullen.
- 18:34Speaker 3: And Tony coach did old Miss, Southern Miss and Mississippi
- 18:37Speaker 3: State and had a ton of success and was with
- 18:39Speaker 3: I don't know how many winning teams. But he said,
- 18:42Speaker 3: I never seen anybody in the film room that can
- 18:44Speaker 3: turn on film and say, yeah, he can play. Now,
- 18:48Speaker 3: he's going to play a different position, but he can
- 18:51Speaker 3: play once we get him up here and he gets
- 18:53Speaker 3: five meals a day and gets.
- 18:54Speaker 5: In the weight room. Da da da da da.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Dan just had a now and kiffin'sahelva an evaluator too,
- 19:01Speaker 3: I mean Quinn Shaun Judkins. I mean, we could go
- 19:03Speaker 3: on and on, but there's a running back out of
- 19:06Speaker 3: Alabama that Bama nor Auburn wanted and Lane took him
- 19:09Speaker 3: and he ended up being a superstar.
- 19:11Speaker 5: There's plenty more.
- 19:11Speaker 4: Well, you look at player development, look at Signetti, right,
- 19:14Speaker 4: do we have any better? Because I don't think a
- 19:17Speaker 4: lot of people realize Kurt Signetti kind of built some
- 19:22Speaker 4: rosters at Alabama for Nick Saban, who just you know,
- 19:26Speaker 4: kind of like, you know, maybe some of the best
- 19:28Speaker 4: teams ever this century.
- 19:30Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, and then left to go to iupa
- 19:35Speaker 3: unbelievable then elon, Then James Madison, Dave bar Two's in

- 21:25Speaker 3: You can watch the show right now on the YouTube
- 21:28Speaker 3: channel search out of Bounds Sports, out of Bound Sports.
- 21:34Speaker 3: And of course straight Funk is with us too, and
- 21:38Speaker 3: we were just glad he got here. He's pretty locked
- 21:42Speaker 3: in and Bar two is celebrating Vanderbilt on the set,
- 21:48Speaker 3: so he went and grabbed the Vanderbilt helmet this morning
- 21:53Speaker 3: and it hasn't been on set in a while.
- 21:55Speaker 5: I guess last year.
- 21:56Speaker 3: Maybe Vanderbilt and Diego won a big game or two,
- 21:58Speaker 3: I mean they won ten games. And uh, Bar two
- 22:01Speaker 3: on the way to the studio this morning said bartwo,
- 22:07Speaker 3: you go ahead, what'd you say about?
- 22:08Speaker 4: Well, talking about strength to schedule and the quality of
- 22:11Speaker 4: the conference is so forth and one of you know,
- 22:16Speaker 4: one of my immediate thoughts is how good is the
- 22:19Speaker 4: conference where the absolute dead last, historically worst recruiter wins
- 22:23Speaker 4: ten games?
- 22:24Speaker 1: How good is the conference? Right?
- 22:26Speaker 4: I mean, you know Duke wins the ACC oh ACC
- 22:29Speaker 4: socks right, you know, Duke's in the top twenty five
- 22:32Speaker 4: acy se socks. Virginia is the top twenty five ACC socks.
- 22:36Speaker 4: You know, big, big ten, big twelve, right, Arizona a
- 22:41Speaker 4: team that recruits in the fifties.
- 22:43Speaker 1: Right, Oh, oh oh, the big the big ten, so
- 22:45Speaker 1: big twelve socks, right right.
- 22:47Speaker 3: So Vanderbilt the way you framed it up, I'd not
- 22:50Speaker 3: thought about that. I mean, Vanderbilt went ten and two
- 22:53Speaker 3: last year. It goes to show you how weak the conference.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Was, exactly.
- 22:56Speaker 4: And not only were they ten and two, okay, they
- 23:00Speaker 4: they were the number one scoring efficiency offense in the
- 23:03Speaker 4: entire conference. How about that they were the number ones Okay, okay,
- 23:10Speaker 4: Because and we've talked about this before many times, is
- 23:13Speaker 4: one of the one of the lines in the sand
- 23:15Speaker 4: for a national champion. Last twenty six national champions two
- 23:19Speaker 4: thousand through twenty twenty five, Okay, at the end of
- 23:23Speaker 4: the regular season, every single national champ at the end
- 23:29Speaker 4: of the regular season is top three in scoring efficiency
- 23:34Speaker 4: on offense and.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Or defense, and sometimes both top three, okay.
- 23:39Speaker 4: Right, not top five, not top seven, top three, I
- 23:44Speaker 4: mean elite. And the only thing Oklahoma was not top three,
- 23:51Speaker 4: they were the best defense. They were number four, And
- 23:54Speaker 4: Vanderbilt was top three in scoring efficiency offense last year
- 23:58Speaker 4: at number three, right behind number two Indiana. That was
- 24:03Speaker 4: your only national championship level offense or defense last year
- 24:08Speaker 4: was with the worst recruiter in the conference. But no,
- 24:11Speaker 4: we're gonna go sos, We're gonna go Wells conferences tough
- 24:15Speaker 4: as hell. Yet the worst recruiter put up the best
- 24:17Speaker 4: offense in the entire conference. I think we need to
- 24:20Speaker 4: rewire expectations and drop pre nil bs.
- 24:25Speaker 3: So the last I've said it on the show, the
- 24:28Speaker 3: last two or three years, it's never been a better
- 24:30Speaker 3: time to be good because of the fractured, splintered, huge
- 24:34Speaker 3: transition of the portal. Exactly to your point, And an
- 24:38Speaker 3: example is the lowest rated recruiter in the Southeastern Conference
- 24:43Speaker 3: by a pretty good margin. The Vanderbilt Commodorees went ten
- 24:48Speaker 3: to two last year and had the number one offense
- 24:51Speaker 3: scoring efficiency in the conference.
- 24:54Speaker 5: Yeah, let's even over Lane.
- 24:56Speaker 3: Even over Kirby, even over Hypel, even over arc whatever,
- 25:01Speaker 3: right the boor Ryan grip, but you're looking at Yeah,
- 25:04Speaker 3: I mean it's the equivalent of Rutgers leading the Big
- 25:07Speaker 3: Ten in offense or defense.
- 25:08Speaker 1: I didn't thought about that.
- 25:09Speaker 3: Let's put it in that Layman story. It's the equivalent
- 25:12Speaker 3: of Rutgers going ten and two in the Big Ten
- 25:16Speaker 3: and leading the Big Ten in offense for defense one.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Pick one defense, right, pick one? I mean, and then
- 25:22Speaker 1: what do we think of the Big Ten?
- 25:23Speaker 3: Then well then we we take shots at it doors
- 25:27Speaker 3: right right?
- 25:30Speaker 4: I think it does speak to the volumes that the
- 25:34Speaker 4: depth of talent is eroded. There's no team today that's
- 25:38Speaker 4: as good as they were years ago.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Right.
- 25:40Speaker 5: You mentioned the Georgia Bama teams, right.
- 25:42Speaker 4: I mean, these are the old the Bama teams. Uh smart,
- 25:48Speaker 4: you know, twenty one twenty two right there on the edge.
- 25:51Speaker 4: I mean, they would kick the living but Jesus out
- 25:54Speaker 4: of everybody in the SEC. So so getting up there
- 25:58Speaker 4: and talking about what the SEC used to be in
- 26:01Speaker 4: relation to where it is today, I think it's a
- 26:04Speaker 4: poor conversation. I think it's selection bias using what happened
- 26:09Speaker 4: before to apply to where it is today. And I
- 26:12Speaker 4: think we can use the same argument too to get
- 26:14Speaker 4: rid of the G six in the playoffs, those Cincinnata,
- 26:17Speaker 4: that Cincinnati team that went twelve to zero is never
- 26:20Speaker 4: coming back through that door. They're never retaining that talent
- 26:23Speaker 4: long enough to be that good, you know, and even
- 26:27Speaker 4: be competitive. So I think there's a lot of dialogue
- 26:31Speaker 4: that could be had because of NIL over the last
- 26:34Speaker 4: four or five years and how it's changed the talent
- 26:36Speaker 4: landscape and the continuity landscape and really is erod at
- 26:41Speaker 4: all levels of college football across the board.
- 26:46Speaker 3: And Greg Sanky was he just wasn't a happy camper.
- 26:51Speaker 3: You know, you're in Tampa, Florida, You're not paying for anything.
- 26:55Speaker 3: You flew down on a private jet. You make a
- 26:57Speaker 3: million dollars a month. Life's not bad. Probably went on
- 27:01Speaker 3: a pretty cool vacation at some point this summer. He
- 27:04Speaker 3: was cranky Sanky.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Who's who? I'm trying to figure out? Who sold them
- 27:10Speaker 1: a bill of goods on going to nine?
- 27:11Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, that's right.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Who sold the bill of goods? Somebody had to because
- 27:16Speaker 1: you and I on this show.
- 27:17Speaker 4: I've been on the show for over a decade, and
- 27:20Speaker 4: how many times have I said over the years, don't
- 27:25Speaker 4: go to nine?
- 27:26Speaker 1: Right?
- 27:27Speaker 4: The numbers backed it up. Don't go to nine, stay
- 27:31Speaker 4: at eight, make everybody come down to you.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Eight is way better.
- 27:34Speaker 4: And as a fan, I would much rather have an
- 27:37Speaker 4: eight two and two schedule, which is eight sec games,
- 27:40Speaker 4: two Power four non conference and two cupcake and eterers whatever, right, right.
- 27:47Speaker 1: I'd rather do it that way.
- 27:48Speaker 4: That would give me a good SOS too, and it'd
- 27:51Speaker 4: really defined who's good or not. And I think i'd
- 27:52Speaker 4: be exciting. But we've said, don't go to nine. Don't
- 27:56Speaker 4: do it. It's a bad idea. Strength of schedule doesn't
- 27:58Speaker 4: mean anything. It doesn't find the quality of the team.
- 28:01Speaker 4: It's the last thing the playoff committee uses in terms
- 28:04Speaker 4: of segmenting teams.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Don't do it. Don't do it, And here we are.
- 28:08Speaker 4: They did it, And I want to know who talked
- 28:11Speaker 4: everybody into it. I got a couple of theories, so
- 28:14Speaker 4: I would look a here, so the presidents run the
- 28:16Speaker 4: deal and they make the boat on, you know, with
- 28:20Speaker 4: other people involved.
- 28:22Speaker 3: I guess ESPN Disney sweeten the pot enough. I don't
- 28:26Speaker 3: know what that was. Has it beneficially announced? It was
- 28:29Speaker 3: a ten million more team, twelve million more team. I
- 28:32Speaker 3: think post COVID athletic directors and presidents got scared to death.
- 28:37Speaker 3: And then with the portal, they're trying to figure out
- 28:40Speaker 3: how they can pay for men's basketball, women's basketball, and
- 28:43Speaker 3: college baseball, whichever one's more important. On that campus or
- 28:46Speaker 3: two of the three, right, how long would just give
- 28:49Speaker 3: some of the other sports, you know, one hundred thousand
- 28:53Speaker 3: and two whatever their budget is, and softball and some others.
- 28:58Speaker 5: And so I think that's it.
- 28:59Speaker 3: I think they look at it and they're like, it
- 29:01Speaker 3: was a money grap It was it. Disney and ESPN,
- 29:05Speaker 3: who now house all of the sec inventory, gave X
- 29:10Speaker 3: amount for the ninth for.
- 29:13Speaker 5: All none.
- 29:14Speaker 4: Okay, So so it's a money grab. So we want
- 29:17Speaker 4: our cake and eat it too. Then absolutely I want
- 29:20Speaker 4: the money, but I don't want the penalty of going
- 29:22Speaker 4: to nine games. That's what we're talking about, right, And
- 29:27Speaker 4: here we are, we're talking about the penalty of nine games.
- 29:30Speaker 4: And Media day has been ensnared with SOS talk the
- 29:35Speaker 4: entire first day, right, you know, and we've said a
- 29:38Speaker 4: million times on this show. Everybody listening right now knows
- 29:41Speaker 4: that strength of schedule has absolutely nothing to do with
- 29:43Speaker 4: the quality of a team, zero correlation with the quality
- 29:46Speaker 4: of the team. And but here we are, suddenly strength
- 29:51Speaker 4: of schedule is the most important thing to talk about.
- 29:53Speaker 4: Last year, it wasn't, right, I mean, can you imagine that?
- 29:58Speaker 4: You know, you look at Vanderbilt scaled a right, could
- 30:01Speaker 4: you imagine if Old Miss was ten and two last year,
- 30:03Speaker 4: Vanderbilt was ten and two last year, and Vanderbilt gets
- 30:05Speaker 4: in because they got a better strength to schedule?
- 30:08Speaker 1: Right, wait till that happens.
- 30:10Speaker 5: That would have burned some people up right, Wait till
- 30:13Speaker 5: that happens or Vanderbilt. What about Vanderbilt getting in over
- 30:16Speaker 5: lsu a Big or Georgia because of what your strength
- 30:21Speaker 5: up schedule?
- 30:21Speaker 4: I'm doing that in AIRPLA air quotes a strength to schedule,
- 30:24Speaker 4: you know, And so I don't mind the way the
- 30:26Speaker 4: playoff committee has been using it, which is to separate
- 30:29Speaker 4: equal teams at the end, right, you have the equal
- 30:33Speaker 4: number of quality wins. You got equal number of top
- 30:35Speaker 4: twenty five wins. You know, you're ten and two. You're
- 30:37Speaker 4: both ten and two. Who has a better strength to schedule?
- 30:41Speaker 4: Maybe they both get in, But one is the seventh
- 30:43Speaker 4: seed with a better SOS and one is the eight seed.
- 30:47Speaker 4: And then the other thing is, we don't nobody's talking
- 30:49Speaker 4: about how do you calculate strength to schedule? I could
- 30:52Speaker 4: sit here and show you a hundred different ways.
- 30:54Speaker 3: To catch it, right, I see your nine thousand spreadsheets,
- 30:58Speaker 3: and then we could manipulate.
- 30:59Speaker 5: It right, you can't.
- 31:00Speaker 4: One of the easiest things that manipulate is the strength
- 31:02Speaker 4: of schedule ranking, because you could just start tweaking the
- 31:05Speaker 4: dials until it comes out the way you want it right, which.
- 31:08Speaker 3: Danny Kanal has said yesterday that the SEC doesn't play anybody,
- 31:12Speaker 3: so oh my god, he made he made sure to
- 31:14Speaker 3: jump on on the bandwagon that evidently there's there's no
- 31:18Speaker 3: more talent. Since we've lost three national championship well we
- 31:21Speaker 3: hadn't played for them, but since we haven't won a
- 31:24Speaker 3: national championship in three years, Canal's like, this league's garbage.
- 31:29Speaker 4: Yeah, well you know something, how about they're all garbage.
- 31:31Speaker 4: Nobody plays anybody until this.
- 31:33Speaker 5: Well, that's your whole thing. You would like to And
- 31:35Speaker 5: I get where you're going.
- 31:36Speaker 3: I mean, I'm trying to figure out if you're you know,
- 31:39Speaker 3: if you're totally right, who knows who is? But I
- 31:42Speaker 3: get what you're You want more teams to play each
- 31:45Speaker 3: other cross P four conference to try to get an
- 31:50Speaker 3: idea on who the best teams are by the time
- 31:52Speaker 3: we go in to the college football player, well, right, right,
- 31:56Speaker 3: and and as do you want to see Oregon and
- 31:58Speaker 3: Georgia or because.
- 32:00Speaker 4: Even Oregon and Oklahoma State and Georgia and BYU, I
- 32:04Speaker 4: don't care, you know. I mean, I didn't like the
- 32:07Speaker 4: Pac twelve blowing up and going to the Big Ten.
- 32:10Speaker 4: But I will say as a fan going to Auta
- 32:14Speaker 4: now and seeing Michigan or Indiana kick our ass or
- 32:19Speaker 4: Northwestern or all these different ones, it's great.
- 32:23Speaker 1: It really is. And I'm like, okay.
- 32:25Speaker 4: And then from a strength of schedule standpoint, a lot
- 32:27Speaker 4: of people try to compare college basketball to college football,
- 32:31Speaker 4: which is a bit silly because look at the non conference.
- 32:34Speaker 5: Schedule of basketball. Oh, you got.
- 32:37Speaker 4: What twelve fourteen, sixteen games before January?
- 32:41Speaker 1: One huge crossover, right, we.
- 32:44Speaker 3: Can feed that Kansas and Kentucky play. We have the
- 32:47Speaker 3: SEC versus the Big twelve or Big ten. It's hell,
- 32:51Speaker 3: it's a turn you know, not a tournament, but it's
- 32:53Speaker 3: a whatever. Yeah, we have all kinds.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Of all that stuff.
- 32:57Speaker 4: And so to me, to get accurate, the the fewer
- 33:00Speaker 4: games that we play non conference, the worst the strength
- 33:03Speaker 4: of schedule model gets. Right, think about our think about
- 33:06Speaker 4: our data points. Right, if the if the SEC, I
- 33:08Speaker 4: mean they just pulled out of Arizona State, LSU, Washington, Tennessee.
- 33:14Speaker 1: You know, and which is so the that's going away?
- 33:17Speaker 3: Oh yeah, so show they added a ninth conference game.
- 33:21Speaker 3: Day Bar two bo bounds on the Out of Bounds show.
- 33:25Speaker 3: We don't want to leave out straight funk. He's running
- 33:27Speaker 3: the show. You're listening to ESPN one oh five nine
- 33:30Speaker 3: the Zone. If you would like to ask day Bar
- 33:33Speaker 3: two a question about your coach or OC or DC,
- 33:37Speaker 3: like a ranking, rating, grade, or your schedule or something
- 33:43Speaker 3: like that, head coach all that hit us up on
- 33:47Speaker 3: the Dancing Rabbit Golf text line six oh one eight
- 33:51Speaker 3: eight five three seven seven six. Where Bar two's going
- 33:55Speaker 3: with LSU canceling the Arizona State Series and Georgia canceling
- 33:59Speaker 3: the Washingtonton series is it's it looks to be obvious
- 34:04Speaker 3: that the league is now going to pull back on
- 34:07Speaker 3: the mandated power for non conference game going forward, whatever
- 34:12Speaker 3: year that is, while going to none, because they're not
- 34:17Speaker 3: going to ever drop the night. Once you go to
- 34:21Speaker 3: non conference games, you're not going back now.
- 34:23Speaker 4: I don't think so either, you know, unless there is
- 34:26Speaker 4: some sort of crazy right yeah, and unless there's some
- 34:28Speaker 4: sort of everybody gets together and drops to eight at
- 34:31Speaker 4: the same time, right right. They gotta they gotta have
- 34:33Speaker 4: a you know, memorandum of understanding. Basically, we're gonna all
- 34:36Speaker 4: do this uh and it and it sucks though that
- 34:39Speaker 4: with with everybody at nine. Uh and let's say that
- 34:42Speaker 4: P four requirement non conference is dropped, which which is fine,
- 34:46Speaker 4: I understand it to try to.
- 34:47Speaker 3: Be the Big Ten doesn't have it right the way
- 34:49Speaker 3: they're trying to level the playing field.
- 34:51Speaker 4: But what it's also taking away is data points, which
- 34:53Speaker 4: makes strength of schedule impos I mean, it's impossible to
- 34:56Speaker 4: come up with a good one, it really really is.
- 35:00Speaker 3: But the first thing is get the G five teams
- 35:02Speaker 3: out of the College Football Playoff and then figure out
- 35:05Speaker 3: if we're going to go to sixteen, twenty or twenty four.
- 35:07Speaker 3: The SEC wants sixteen, the Big Ten wants twenty four,
- 35:12Speaker 3: and I don't know if that means they'll land at
- 35:14Speaker 3: twenty or who's gonna balk or how this is this
- 35:19Speaker 3: is going to look going forward. But we go to
- 35:21Speaker 3: non conference games, which is not going to be good
- 35:23Speaker 3: for anybody in the league. As far as losses, you
- 35:25Speaker 3: said it average, it'll average a half a loss to
- 35:28Speaker 3: a lost stage team.
- 35:29Speaker 4: Yeah, and it's going to impact the lesser talent injury
- 35:33Speaker 4: teams that year.
- 35:34Speaker 5: So we're the most injured, We're the most injury prone league.
- 35:37Speaker 5: Is that right?
- 35:38Speaker 1: Yes? You are?
- 35:41Speaker 4: Starts lost per snap, starts lost per snap.
- 35:46Speaker 5: The Southeastern Conference is number one, number one, Okay.
- 35:49Speaker 1: Right, And.
- 35:51Speaker 4: Now that I haven't done the research on that last
- 35:54Speaker 4: couple of years, it may have shifted because number two
- 35:57Speaker 4: was the Big Ten, but then the Big Ten went
- 35:59Speaker 4: to nine conference games. Okayuh, and so, but it's always
- 36:04Speaker 4: been the SEC. SEC is number one in that ten
- 36:07Speaker 4: year research that I did. And when you look at
- 36:09Speaker 4: it though, they were also number one in average height
- 36:12Speaker 4: and weight on the field. Right, Okay, it's it's simple physics.
- 36:15Speaker 4: Sure is fource s equals masstime acceleration. You got bigger
- 36:18Speaker 4: bodies moving just as fast as everybody else.
- 36:21Speaker 5: You are getting more injuries.
- 36:22Speaker 4: And to compare it to the NFL, this is this
- 36:26Speaker 4: will show you the violence of the NFL is with
- 36:30Speaker 4: the With the SEC, you lose about one start per
- 36:39Speaker 4: player per season. In the NFL, you lose three guys
- 36:46Speaker 4: for the entire season the the equivalent. So for for
- 36:51Speaker 4: every one start lost in the SEC due to injury,
- 36:55Speaker 4: there is one guy that loses the entire season in
- 36:57Speaker 4: the NFL. The NFL is essentially just it's it's like
- 37:01Speaker 4: nine times more violent in terms of injury.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Good. But it's all the biggest, fastest guys.
- 37:06Speaker 5: I get it.
- 37:06Speaker 3: I mean you can tell you know, we're we all
- 37:09Speaker 3: watch I Binge watched twelve hours of college football on Saturday.
- 37:13Speaker 5: Not that I know, but it's fun. You see it.
- 37:15Speaker 3: But man, when you turn on the NFL on Sunday, good,
- 37:19Speaker 3: I mean, the difference is night and day.
- 37:22Speaker 4: Yeah, it's the first and then you look at yeah,
- 37:26Speaker 4: you look at that injury record too. Is it is
- 37:29Speaker 4: in lockstep with the size of the conference. It's the
- 37:32Speaker 4: SEC in Big ten, and then you then it drops
- 37:35Speaker 4: down to the ACC and then it drops down to well,
- 37:38Speaker 4: it was the PAC twelve, and then.
- 37:40Speaker 1: The Big twelve was the least injured.
- 37:42Speaker 4: And then you get into your G sixes, which had
- 37:45Speaker 4: three hundred percent less it was like one in three
- 37:49Speaker 4: at the injury rate at the G six you were
- 37:51Speaker 4: you were three times more likely to get injured and
- 37:54Speaker 4: lose a start in the Power four than the G
- 37:57Speaker 4: six and about that.
- 37:59Speaker 1: Then then then it's still up again to the NFL.
- 38:02Speaker 3: So hold on, all right, So we got to switch
- 38:05Speaker 3: gears because we've got five minutes here and I want
- 38:08Speaker 3: to do Lane versus John David Baker. Oh okay, all right,
- 38:11Speaker 3: bo Bounds Dave bar two live in studio. You can
- 38:14Speaker 3: watch the show on YouTube search Out of Bound Sports
- 38:17Speaker 3: Show is brought to you by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi.

- 38:29Speaker 3: two will be with us all morning and then tomorrow
- 38:32Speaker 3: morning live from Dancing Rabbit Golf Club on the property
- 38:35Speaker 3: of Pearl River Resort. So we're going to do a
- 38:38Speaker 3: Lane versus John David Baker over the next four or
- 38:42Speaker 3: five minutes here. Lane was the offensive coordinator slash maybe
- 38:46Speaker 3: wiss in Oxford, and now John David Baker is the
- 38:52Speaker 3: OC in Oxford.
- 38:54Speaker 5: He had two years experience at.
- 38:56Speaker 3: East Carolina one good, one bad, kind of like Levey
- 38:58Speaker 3: at Oklahoma one good, one bad, and and at Missippi
- 39:03Speaker 3: State Leby's had one bad one Oh okay.
- 39:06Speaker 4: Oh oh, wait a minute, wait a minute, Wait a minute,
- 39:09Speaker 4: wait a minute. Well, let's not get over our skis.
- 39:12Speaker 4: John David Baker good and bad is not Jeff Leby
- 39:15Speaker 4: good and bad at Oklahoma. Jeff Lebby good and bad
- 39:18Speaker 4: at Oklahoma was awful and awesome.
- 39:21Speaker 1: Okay, Okay.
- 39:22Speaker 4: John David Baker was really good and still pretty good.
- 39:26Speaker 1: Okay, Okay.
- 39:27Speaker 4: Now, his his second year at East Carolina was a
- 39:30Speaker 4: big drop off, specifically in explosiveness. It was the least
- 39:33Speaker 4: explosive offense in the country last year. But we can
- 39:38Speaker 4: take a look at play calling traits and that's what
- 39:41Speaker 4: that Let's do that breakdown. We can break down run. Actually,
- 39:44Speaker 4: I can remember how I said, I got a bunch
- 39:46Speaker 4: of data. I have my fingertips. Now, yeah, I can
- 39:49Speaker 4: do this with anybody in the country since twenty ten. Okay,
- 39:52Speaker 4: so Kiffin and Baker in twenty twenty five, and we
- 39:58Speaker 4: can go any direction you want with this. But let's
- 40:03Speaker 4: start with overall tempo. Yeah, okay, Bake, Baker's a little
- 40:06Speaker 4: bit quicker.
- 40:08Speaker 1: Now. Now this does not take into this takes into
- 40:10Speaker 1: account garbage time.
- 40:12Speaker 4: So Ole miss was awful good last year, right, Okay,
- 40:15Speaker 4: they had a lot of garbage time. Lane could slow
- 40:17Speaker 4: it down in the fourth quarter whenever he wanted to. Uh,
- 40:20Speaker 4: ECU one is good. They play They pretty played pretty
- 40:23Speaker 4: up tempo. So Baker last year was averaging a snap
- 40:26Speaker 4: every twenty one seconds, okay, twenty one point two, Kiffin
- 40:31Speaker 4: twenty three point two. Okay, so a couple seconds faster, right, So,
- 40:35Speaker 4: so so I expect compound that. I expect John David
- 40:39Speaker 4: Baker to be running a little bit faster offense, maybe
- 40:42Speaker 4: not as quick in year one, because there's got to
- 40:45Speaker 4: be a comfortable, comfortable level of sec play. Right he's
- 40:49Speaker 4: in East Carolina. Well, you know it's it's tomato. It's
- 40:53Speaker 4: not tomato Tomato. I mean it is two totally different leagues.
- 40:56Speaker 4: There snaps per game though averages out about the same.
- 41:00Speaker 4: Baker is going to push about four and a half
- 41:04Speaker 4: five more snaps, so basically an extra drive is going
- 41:07Speaker 4: to go on Pete Golden's defense. Okay, okay, uh so,
- 41:11Speaker 4: so slightly faster, few more snaps, but running the hurry
- 41:16Speaker 4: up Temple's let's I'll jump into tempo distribution. Okay, so
- 41:20Speaker 4: we know John David is going a little bit quicker
- 41:23Speaker 4: than Kiffen, but what is the tempo distribution?
- 41:27Speaker 1: Now?
- 41:28Speaker 4: John David Baker runs a hurry up offense, snapping the
- 41:32Speaker 4: ball with fifteen seconds or more left on the clock.
- 41:37Speaker 4: He's he does that about thirty percent of the time
- 41:39Speaker 4: last year thirty point one percent. Kiffen twenty seven point two.
- 41:44Speaker 4: So Baker this kind of goal was locked in steps.
- 41:47Speaker 4: He's he's running faster, He's using the hurry up more.
- 41:51Speaker 1: Okay.
- 41:53Speaker 4: The big difference is the fast fifteen to twenty seconds
- 41:59Speaker 4: have have he roted on the play clock. Kiffin snaps
- 42:03Speaker 4: at about fourteen percent of the time, Baker at twenty
- 42:06Speaker 4: point three. So you are going to see more than
- 42:09Speaker 4: half of the snaps with Baker versus about forty percent
- 42:13Speaker 4: of the snaps with Lane. They're snapping this with only
- 42:17Speaker 4: twenty seconds or less eroded on the playclock. Okay, so
- 42:20Speaker 4: you've got more tempo there, and then as it goes
- 42:27Speaker 4: down when you start talking about grinding it out, this
- 42:30Speaker 4: is where Kiffyn kind of really slows it down.
- 42:33Speaker 1: When he is ending a game.
- 42:36Speaker 4: Nearly thirty percent of his snaps were there was a
- 42:40Speaker 4: thirty seconds of roted from the play clock. Wow, over
- 42:43Speaker 4: thirty thirty percent. A lot of people think Lane is
- 42:45Speaker 4: really really up tempo, but nearly one out of every
- 42:48Speaker 4: three snaps he had last year, the play clock had run.
- 42:51Speaker 1: Down thirty seconds already.
- 42:52Speaker 4: How about that right where John David Baker is only
- 42:55Speaker 4: at twenty four percent.
- 42:58Speaker 1: So you got a lot more temp, you got a
- 43:00Speaker 1: lot more pace.
- 43:02Speaker 4: Kiffin has more of a distribution of pace of play.
- 43:08Speaker 3: He's got an incredible feel game, which is really hard
- 43:12Speaker 3: to yeah it is, but you look at Kiffin and
- 43:17Speaker 3: if you and you look at the running numbers we
- 43:19Speaker 3: talked about yesterday too.
- 43:20Speaker 1: You know the run
