- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. A couple of weeks ago, Catherine Rumler went
- 0:09Speaker 1: and sat down with Congress and had a conversation with
- 0:12Speaker 1: them about her friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. And as you
- 0:16Speaker 1: can imagine, it was as big of a shit show
- 0:20Speaker 1: as we thought. And we know that now because the
- 0:22Speaker 1: transcripts have been made available, and the way that this
- 0:25Speaker 1: lady was talking about Virginia is completely unacceptable, because if
- 0:31Speaker 1: anybody lacks credibility, it's Katherine Rumler, not Virginia. Imagine yucking
- 0:37Speaker 1: it up and emails with Jeffrey Epstein, calling him Uncle Jeffy,
- 0:40Speaker 1: all kinds of wild shit, getting gifts from him, enjoying
- 0:44Speaker 1: his largess and then having the audacity to say that
- 0:48Speaker 1: Virginia wasn't being truthful or lacked inherent credibility. Well, tell
- 0:54Speaker 1: that to all the courts that ruled in her favor,
- 0:57Speaker 1: and maybe, just maybe, if you weren't help being your buddy,
- 1:00Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein behind the scenes, all the women and the
- 1:03Speaker 1: girls who were abused after Virginia wouldn't have been abused.
- 1:07Speaker 1: But as long as you got your handbag and as
- 1:09Speaker 1: long as you got your money. It was all good, right.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Who cares about those girls from Palm Beach that don't
- 1:14Speaker 1: have any credibility? So considering Kathy Rumler wants that smoke,
- 1:20Speaker 1: well we're gonna give it to her. Today's article is
- 1:23Speaker 1: from CNN and the headline Epstein's accuser's family blast former
- 1:28Speaker 1: Obama White House lawyer who set her assertions lacked inherent credibility.
- 1:33Speaker 1: This article was authored by M. Steck, MJ. Lee, and
- 1:37Speaker 1: Annie Grayer. Kathy Rumler, the former Obama White House counsel,
- 1:42Speaker 1: told a House panel that she believed that descriptions of
- 1:45Speaker 1: abuse by one of Jeffrey Epstein's most prominent victims, Virginia Roberts,
- 1:50Speaker 1: lacked inherent credibility, drawing a fierce rebuke from Robert's family,
- 1:55Speaker 1: who accused the lawyer of trying to downplay her own
- 1:57Speaker 1: ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Exactly what she tried to do? Oh, well,
- 2:02Speaker 1: she didn't have any credibility, so you know, I thought
- 2:05Speaker 1: she was just lying and everybody was trying to blackmail
- 2:07Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein. Now that shit might work for somebody who
- 2:11Speaker 1: was you know, some businessman or something not saying I
- 2:13Speaker 1: believe it but that line might work. If you're Kathy
- 2:16Speaker 1: Rumler and you're the top lawyer in the White House,
- 2:19Speaker 1: Chances are you know exactly who Jeffrey Epstein is, what
- 2:23Speaker 1: he is, and what he was doing. So Kathy Rumler
- 2:28Speaker 1: wants to talk about a credibility issue, she should just
- 2:31Speaker 1: look in the mirror. The statement by Rumler to the
- 2:35Speaker 1: House Oversight Committee became public Wednesday when the panel released
- 2:39Speaker 1: a transcript of its closed door interview with Rumler about
- 2:42Speaker 1: her ties to Epstein. Rumler, who was most recently working
- 2:46Speaker 1: in a top legal position for Goldman Sachs, said she
- 2:49Speaker 1: now regretted interacting with the late sex offender and believed
- 2:52Speaker 1: it to be a mistake. Isn't it always funny how
- 2:55Speaker 1: after the fact they feel like it's such a big
- 2:57Speaker 1: mistake they didn't know at the time. So that calls
- 3:01Speaker 1: her judgment into question. What was she involved in as
- 3:04Speaker 1: Obama's lawyer. Every decision she made should be looked at.
- 3:10Speaker 1: If this is the way she feels and this is
- 3:11Speaker 1: the way she talks about survivors. God knows what was
- 3:14Speaker 1: going on while she was working in the White House.
- 3:18Speaker 1: How many fires did she put out? How many people
- 3:20Speaker 1: were getting molested by staffers or congressman or whatever. Let's
- 3:27Speaker 1: see it all you want to talk about credibility Kathy Rumler,
- 3:31Speaker 1: But when asked specifically if she believed Roberts, a prominent
- 3:35Speaker 1: Epstein accuser who died by suicide, was a victim of
- 3:38Speaker 1: Epstein and Maxwell, Rumler answered, I don't know. I'll take
- 3:41Speaker 1: it a step further. She wasn't only a victim of
- 3:44Speaker 1: Epstein and Maxwell. She was a victim of Kathy Rumler.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Not in the same way. Now, Rumler wasn't in the
- 3:51Speaker 1: room abusing her, but she sure ran cover for Jeffrey
- 3:56Speaker 1: Epstein and Glenne Maxwell. And she's still doing it so again.
- 4:00Speaker 1: And the question is what did she know and when
- 4:03Speaker 1: did she know it? She elaborated if she says that
- 4:08Speaker 1: she was, I don't have a reason to doubt that. However,
- 4:11Speaker 1: there were allegations that she made that were I believed,
- 4:14Speaker 1: based on my experience as a former prosecutor and as
- 4:18Speaker 1: a defense counsel, that were of such a nature that
- 4:20Speaker 1: they were they lacked inherent credibility. But Epstein had all
- 4:25Speaker 1: kinds of credibility when he told you he was being blackmail. Huh.
- 4:28Speaker 1: I was a seventeen year old girl, one girl, No
- 4:31Speaker 1: big deal, as if that's not a big deal. So
- 4:35Speaker 1: all these people, they can take their revisionist history, and
- 4:37Speaker 1: they can take their bullshit and shove it as far
- 4:40Speaker 1: as it'll go. Responding to the statement, Sky and Amanda Roberts,
- 4:45Speaker 1: Robert's brother and sister in law, said in a statement
- 4:48Speaker 1: to CNN, the only person who lacks credibility is Kathy Rumler,
- 4:53Speaker 1: who's trying to get people to believe she didn't know
- 4:55Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein was actively engaged in sex trafficking. Well that's true.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Just another enabler, just another Epstein adjacent who wants to
- 5:06Speaker 1: talk shit about the dead, wants to talk shit about
- 5:08Speaker 1: people who can't defend themselves. And what did she think
- 5:11Speaker 1: she was going to get away with it? You thought
- 5:14Speaker 1: you were going to come double barrel at Virginia and
- 5:17Speaker 1: get away with it. Well, Kathy Ruemler, you're now on
- 5:20Speaker 1: the clock. To attempt to cast doubt on Virginia, whose
- 5:24Speaker 1: bravery was the reason so many other survivors stepped forward,
- 5:28Speaker 1: resulting in more than fifty people from having to step
- 5:31Speaker 1: down from their positions of power, is reprehensible. The statement said.
- 5:35Speaker 1: She should be ashamed of herself. Unfortunately, the shameless never
- 5:38Speaker 1: feel shame. Jamie Schlittler, a public relations representative for Rumler,
- 5:45Speaker 1: disputed that Roomler was broadly dismissing Virginia's allegations in an
- 5:50Speaker 1: email before Robert's family members had issued their statement. That
- 5:54Speaker 1: is simply not what happened, Schlickler wrote in an email,
- 5:57Speaker 1: Miss Rumler was responding to a specific discussion about specific allegations.
- 6:02Speaker 1: She was expressing skepticism regarding particular claims that had not
- 6:06Speaker 1: been substantiated. Not every allegation Miss Roberts ever made. Oh yeah,
- 6:10Speaker 1: let's just parse them. The ones that are the most
- 6:15Speaker 1: damaging for my friends, they're fake. But the other ones, well,
- 6:19Speaker 1: we'll go with those. Here's an idea, Kathy Rumler and
- 6:23Speaker 1: your little attack dog, Jamie shitt Liquor or whatever her
- 6:26Speaker 1: name is, shut up, Okay, just shut up. Probably a
- 6:30Speaker 1: good idea. Usually when you find yourself in a hole,
- 6:35Speaker 1: it's a great idea to stop digging. In twenty nineteen,
- 6:39Speaker 1: Roberts publicly alleged Epstein Trafficktor and forced her to have
- 6:42Speaker 1: sex with his friends, including Prince Andrew Now Andrew mount Baton, Winsaw,
- 6:47Speaker 1: The Joe Exotic of the Windsor family when she was
- 6:50Speaker 1: seventeen years old. The former prince has repeatedly denied the
- 6:54Speaker 1: allegations after paying out a fat ass bag. I guess
- 6:58Speaker 1: that was fake too, because the royal family's in the
- 7:01Speaker 1: business of paying out seventeen million dollars over allegations like
- 7:06Speaker 1: do these people even listen to themselves? Typically when someone
- 7:09Speaker 1: says I was sex traffick to someone, they say who? When? Where? Not?
- 7:13Speaker 1: Multiple world leaders, multiple foreign presidents, said Rumler. She added
- 7:18Speaker 1: that since she didn't investigate the case, she would have
- 7:21Speaker 1: asked the chief investigator about what evidence they uncovered and
- 7:24Speaker 1: whether they interviewed Roberts. Are you kidding me? Right now,
- 7:30Speaker 1: let's just go through the names. George Mitchell, Bill Richardson,
- 7:35Speaker 1: Jean lu Brunel, Glenn Dubin, Marvin Minsky and those are
- 7:39Speaker 1: just a few of the names that were given to
- 7:40Speaker 1: us by Virginia. But sure, multiple world leaders, multiple foreign presidents.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Kathy Rumler has no idea what she's talking about, Or
- 7:50Speaker 1: then again, maybe she does and she's just attempting to obfuscate.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Rumler announced in February she would resign as the chief
- 8:00Speaker 1: Legal Officer from Goldman Sachs after stories published detailing or
- 8:04Speaker 1: ties to Epstein were published, including from CNN's k File.
- 8:08Speaker 1: She was supposed to leave the firm by the end
- 8:10Speaker 1: of June, but Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon asked her
- 8:14Speaker 1: to stay on as an advisor until her successor was named.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Goldman Sachs declined the comment to CNN. Robert's brother and
- 8:22Speaker 1: sister in law said in a statement, Kathy Rumler and
- 8:25Speaker 1: Richard herself while girls and young women suffered and had
- 8:28Speaker 1: their lives destroyed because she enabled their abuser facts. All
- 8:32Speaker 1: of that's effect. And we're not talking about just somebody
- 8:35Speaker 1: who was floating around the life. We're talking about the
- 8:38Speaker 1: number one lawyer in Obama's White House. I mean, are
- 8:41Speaker 1: we going to address that? Are we going to talk
- 8:43Speaker 1: about the absolute corruption decade after decade in the White
- 8:47Speaker 1: House when it comes to Epstein. Every single one of
- 8:50Speaker 1: these administrations has been Epstein adjacent, and god damn it,
- 8:54Speaker 1: people like Virginia have been ringing the bell for years.
- 8:58Speaker 1: And that's why when people try to make this strictly political,
- 9:01Speaker 1: as far as lining up on a side, they're never
- 9:03Speaker 1: going to understand just how vast all of this was
- 9:07Speaker 1: and how many people were involved. Nobody wants to believe
- 9:10Speaker 1: their quote unquote team could be involved in some shit
- 9:13Speaker 1: like this, but I assure you both teams were and
- 9:17Speaker 1: both teams are. Rumler also asked by investigators about an
- 9:23Speaker 1: email from September twenty fifteen, in which she wrote, I
- 9:27Speaker 1: want to think about whether there are any counter claims
- 9:29Speaker 1: that could be brought against VR with VR referring to
- 9:32Speaker 1: Virginia Roberts, I mean, can you imagine and then to
- 9:36Speaker 1: have the audacity to question Virginia this skufuza was working
- 9:42Speaker 1: behind the scenes Whichevery Epstein after he was already convicted,
- 9:47Speaker 1: to try and destroy Virginia's credibility. If that doesn't make
- 9:52Speaker 1: Kathy Rumler one of the most reprehensible pieces of trash
- 9:55Speaker 1: that we've talked about, I don't know what will. And listen,
- 9:58Speaker 1: I give everybody the benefit fit of the doubt. As
- 10:00Speaker 1: you know, I wait until we have the transcripts till
- 10:03Speaker 1: I could read them before we go scorched earth. But
- 10:07Speaker 1: now that I've read the transcript you better believe Kathy
- 10:10Speaker 1: Rumler is one of the most reprehensible people that we've
- 10:14Speaker 1: talked about at least recently. At the time, Robert Said
- 10:18Speaker 1: sued Glenne Maxwell for defamation for saying that her abuse
- 10:22Speaker 1: allegations against Maxwell and Epstein were obvious lies. When pressed
- 10:26Speaker 1: if she wanted to bring any counterclaims against Roberts, Ruemler
- 10:30Speaker 1: said she had no memory of the email, but that
- 10:33Speaker 1: she was sort of in a generic way, trying to
- 10:35Speaker 1: show that I'm being somewhat responsive when Epstein's asking my views,
- 10:39Speaker 1: and again that was a common way that I would
- 10:41Speaker 1: respond to him. I didn't have any direct involvement in
- 10:44Speaker 1: any of this. Rumler added, Well, how do we know
- 10:48Speaker 1: time for a special council? Right? If everything's on the
- 10:50Speaker 1: up and up and there's nothing to hide, then what's
- 10:53Speaker 1: the big deal. Let's get ourselves a special council and
- 10:56Speaker 1: let's get rockin. Committee instigators broadly sought the press Rumler
- 11:02Speaker 1: on her relationship with Epstein, presenting her with various emails,
- 11:05Speaker 1: many of which were made public by the Justice Department,
- 11:08Speaker 1: and asking her to explain. In February twenty sixteen, email chain,
- 11:13Speaker 1: Epstein asked we all set for a day of joy,
- 11:17Speaker 1: to which Rumler responded, best massage ever, but not your
- 11:21Speaker 1: kind of massage. The transcript shows, Yeah, she had no idea. Nah,
- 11:25Speaker 1: I had no idea what was going on. But Epstein's
- 11:27Speaker 1: getting his kind of massage. The fuck you talking about?
- 11:30Speaker 1: Who do you think you're talking to? You think we're stupid?
- 11:35Speaker 1: I assure you nobody's buying what you're selling. Given some
- 11:40Speaker 1: of Epstein's victims were initially recruited to provide massages, Rumler
- 11:44Speaker 1: was asked to explain what she meant. Rumler said that
- 11:47Speaker 1: Epstein had gifted her a visit to the spot at
- 11:49Speaker 1: the Peninsula Hotel in New York City, and that her
- 11:53Speaker 1: email was meant to be a joke about Epstein's prior conviction.
- 11:56Speaker 1: That's something a joke about. That's something to kid about
- 12:00Speaker 1: a child that was abused by Jeffrey Epstein. That tells
- 12:03Speaker 1: you everything you need to know about Kathy Rumler. This
- 12:07Speaker 1: is a vile woman. And if she was making these
- 12:11Speaker 1: kinds of decisions as a private citizen, what was she
- 12:15Speaker 1: doing when she was a government employee? Everything she worked
- 12:19Speaker 1: on should be looked at. It won't be, but it should.
- 12:23Speaker 1: So what I was making here was an offhanded joke
- 12:26Speaker 1: that certainly, sitting here in twenty twenty six, is an
- 12:29Speaker 1: extraordinarily poor taste, but it was a joke about his
- 12:32Speaker 1: prior criminal history, Rumler said. According to the transcript, committee
- 12:37Speaker 1: investigators also presented Rumler with a September twenty fourteen email
- 12:42Speaker 1: where Epstein wrote, girls careful, I will renew an old habit,
- 12:47Speaker 1: a habit that he never ended. Sick, degenerate, twisted fuck bag.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Rumler said that this exchange was likely in reference to
- 12:55Speaker 1: an in prison meeting where she told him not to
- 12:57Speaker 1: refer to women as girls. Rumler was also presented with
- 13:02Speaker 1: a twenty sixteen email from June where she and Epstein
- 13:05Speaker 1: were discussing a possible hedge fund job opportunity. After Epstein
- 13:10Speaker 1: suggested that the hedge fund CEO might just be interested
- 13:13Speaker 1: in a woman, Rumler responded, oh Jesus, meaning you're going
- 13:17Speaker 1: to trade one of your Russians for my comp I mean,
- 13:21Speaker 1: don't tell me she didn't know. Okay, I'm tired of it.
- 13:24Speaker 1: I'm tired of the bullshit. I'm tired of all the
- 13:26Speaker 1: people trying to massage this. I'm sick of it, and
- 13:31Speaker 1: I'm reaching the end of my rope. You know, I've
- 13:34Speaker 1: tried to be more like sun Zoo in my old
- 13:36Speaker 1: age but these motherfuckers, they're really bringing the machiavelliatom me.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Rumler said that she knew some of Epstein's staff were
- 13:45Speaker 1: Russian and Eastern European, but she never saw anyone under
- 13:49Speaker 1: the age of eighteen. She argued that she made the
- 13:51Speaker 1: comment as a way to deflect, because, in her view,
- 13:54Speaker 1: Epstein was trying to insert himself into a potential job
- 13:57Speaker 1: negotiation when she hadn't been offered anything and wasn't seeking
- 14:01Speaker 1: his help. Oh yeah, sure, sure, Kathy Rumler. I didn't
- 14:06Speaker 1: want any help from him. I was just glazing him
- 14:08Speaker 1: and giving him some fucking cyber fallatio in those emails.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Fuck out he here. I regret emailing them. And this
- 14:16Speaker 1: is this is a joke that certainly doesn't land very
- 14:18Speaker 1: well today, Rumler told the committee. In March twenty fifteen,
- 14:22Speaker 1: Rumler wrote to Epstein, Darling, I am not one of
- 14:25Speaker 1: your young things. She told the committee. She was being
- 14:28Speaker 1: snarky after a long travel day to China. Remember, he
- 14:32Speaker 1: had a girlfriend, and she was probably fifteen years younger
- 14:35Speaker 1: than me at the time, Rumler said, adding he also
- 14:39Speaker 1: had staff, you know, several women in their you know,
- 14:41Speaker 1: late twenties, early thirties, who were honest staff who traveled
- 14:44Speaker 1: with him, So basically saying, don't again, don't man explain me.
- 14:49Speaker 1: I'm cranky. Oh yeah, don't man explain me. I'm a
- 14:53Speaker 1: big feminist. Shut Jerry yappy ass up with questions about
- 14:58Speaker 1: her job status. For and publicly, Rumler would not commit
- 15:01Speaker 1: to recommending that her successor at Goldman Sachs would not
- 15:04Speaker 1: have ties to Epstein. I think that is not a
- 15:07Speaker 1: question for me, she said. In the American legal system,
- 15:10Speaker 1: we hold people accountable for their conduct. We don't hold
- 15:13Speaker 1: people accountable for their associations. Yeah, tell that the people
- 15:17Speaker 1: sitting in prison on Rico charges, and she knows that
- 15:20Speaker 1: she sent a lot of them there herself. In my opinion,
- 15:26Speaker 1: a very very bad policy to start impute misconduct by
- 15:29Speaker 1: people solely as a virtue of their association, she said,
- 15:33Speaker 1: adding it would be a very dangerous road to go
- 15:35Speaker 1: down because we're not doing that already. There shouldn't be
- 15:39Speaker 1: social consequences for your bullshit. I mean, come on, man, look,
- 15:43Speaker 1: I'm not talking about cancel culture. That's ridiculous. You don't
- 15:47Speaker 1: cancel people for opinions. You cancel people for enabling Jeffrey Epstein.
- 15:53Speaker 1: There's a very big difference. If you're engaging with a
- 15:57Speaker 1: human trafficker who is hurting children and women, you should
- 16:00Speaker 1: be wearing the scarlet letter. Ruhmler said she had disclosed
- 16:03Speaker 1: her association with Epstein to the bank before she joined
- 16:06Speaker 1: in twenty twenty. I said that I knew Epstein, that
- 16:09Speaker 1: I had communicated with Epstein, and I had dealt with Epstein,
- 16:13Speaker 1: that he was not my client, but that he was
- 16:15Speaker 1: a primary advisor to my client, and that he had
- 16:18Speaker 1: asked me. While he wasn't my client, he would certainly
- 16:21Speaker 1: ask my views on things from time to time. She said,
- 16:25Speaker 1: So you were just working for free, big shot lawyer,
- 16:29Speaker 1: Kathy Rumler working for free. I wonder why you would
- 16:33Speaker 1: do that for Jeffrey Epstein. I mean, I'm sure there's
- 16:35Speaker 1: people in the country who don't have the means to
- 16:37Speaker 1: afford a lawyer. Why not help them? Oh, that's right,
- 16:40Speaker 1: they're not buying you handbags. Rumner said she knew Epstein
- 16:45Speaker 1: professionally as a lawyer because the two shared a mutual client,
- 16:48Speaker 1: a bank, and that her interactions with Epstein were as
- 16:51Speaker 1: a lawyer. Ruhmler said she never represented Epstein as his
- 16:55Speaker 1: attorney or was compensated by him, and she was one
- 16:58Speaker 1: of many people Epstein asked across his professional and social
- 17:02Speaker 1: circles for advice. He asked my views from time to time,
- 17:07Speaker 1: as I think he asked others as well, and I
- 17:09Speaker 1: tried to be responsive and give him my views. But again,
- 17:12Speaker 1: he wasn't my client. I didn't work for him, he
- 17:16Speaker 1: wasn't paying me, wasn't my responsibility. It was somebody else's responsibility.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Rumler said, Boy, if that doesn't sum up what all
- 17:24Speaker 1: these morons have told us during these testimonies, then I
- 17:28Speaker 1: don't know what does. And I know that we're going
- 17:30Speaker 1: through the Ted weight deposition right now and we're going
- 17:33Speaker 1: to continue going through that, but it doesn't hold anywhere
- 17:36Speaker 1: near as much weight as this Ruler testimony. So we're
- 17:39Speaker 1: going to jump into that as well, and over the
- 17:41Speaker 1: next few days, the weekend especially, we're going to go
- 17:45Speaker 1: heavy on that Kathy Ruhmler testimony because I think it's
- 17:48Speaker 1: important that all of you here for yourself what this
- 17:52Speaker 1: woman had to say. And on top of that, we
- 17:54Speaker 1: have two other stories that were following the Tyler Robinson
- 17:58Speaker 1: trial and now Brian Colberger attempt to get a new trial.
- 18:02Speaker 1: So We'll have some episodes about those stories as well,
- 18:06Speaker 1: but as for this one, well, that's gonna do it.
- 18:09Speaker 1: All the information that goes with this episode can be
- 18:11Speaker 1: found in the description box
