106) Why Evan Left Medical Sales and Chasing Money for a Spiritual Fueled Digital Nomad Life · Digital Nomad Life Podcast

• 3:34
SPEAKER_01: Living my dream life, living life to the fullest every single day, every single moment.
• 3:40
SPEAKER_01: It was something I had to choose consciously and work towards.
• 3:45
SPEAKER_01: But now I'm here and I can say it's not just a possibility, but it can be, you know, our reality if we choose to.
• 3:54
SPEAKER_04: Hey there and welcome to the Digital Nomad Life Podcast.
• 3:57
SPEAKER_04: I'm your host, Krista, also known as Christabella Travels on social media.
• 4:01
SPEAKER_04: Feel free to slide into my DMs anytime.
• 4:03
SPEAKER_04: Tell me that you heard this episode, say hi.
• 4:06
SPEAKER_04: Or if the story of Evan resonated with you, you can just message him directly too.
• 4:12
SPEAKER_04: So I'm here recording this episode with my guest Evan Gage live in Bali.
• 4:18
SPEAKER_04: I had the pleasure of meeting him last week and just had, we had such an interesting conversation about his journey of becoming a digital nomad, a remote worker, someone who has, quote, exited the matrix and ain't never going back.
• 4:33
SPEAKER_04: So his story uh, you know, starts off as a pretty general story.
• 4:37
SPEAKER_04: Maybe you know someone that has a similar story too, working in insurance and sales and just really doing the whole corporate nine-to-five thing for many years.
• 4:46
SPEAKER_04: And now he's here as a serial entrepreneur who can live from literally anywhere, live and work from anywhere.
• 4:53
SPEAKER_04: He's got a coaching business where he helps men in their healing journeys.
• 4:58
SPEAKER_04: Um, he's hosting an amazing retreat coming up in Egypt soon and is working on a movie and just has all these really cool things going on.
• 5:07
SPEAKER_04: So I thought that it would be awesome to have him on the podcast and you can hear firsthand his story of how he was able to go from nine to five to you decide and far beyond.
• 5:19
SPEAKER_04: So Evan, welcome to the podcast.
• 5:21
SPEAKER_00: Thank you very much and for the beautiful introduction.
• 5:24
  SPEAKER_00: You're so welcome.
• 5:25
  SPEAKER_00: Happy to be here.
• 5:26
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so happy to have you here.
• 5:27
SPEAKER_04: So why don't we start off by um, I mean, I just shared a little bit about uh where you're at, but maybe if you were to meet someone in the wild now and you were gonna tell them just kind of about what your life generally is like, how would you describe what your life is like today?
• 5:47
SPEAKER_01: I would say living my dream life, living life to the fullest every single day, every single moment.
• 5:53
SPEAKER_01: And it was something I had to choose consciously and work towards.
• 6:00
SPEAKER_01: But now I'm here and I can say it's not just a possibility, but it can be, you know, our reality if we choose to take that path.
• 6:08
  SPEAKER_01: So wow.
• 6:09
  SPEAKER_04: Okay.
• 6:09
SPEAKER_04: So you're living your dream life, and it sounds like you're committed to the idea that other people could be living their dream lives too.
• 6:16
  SPEAKER_01: Yes, absolutely.
• 6:17
  SPEAKER_04: Okay, love that.
• 6:18
SPEAKER_04: That's why I was like, we got to get in the podcast and talk about this because I also hold that belief very much, which is why I have this whole podcast.
• 6:25
SPEAKER_04: So um, you're living your dream life.
• 6:27
SPEAKER_04: What does that look like?
• 6:28
SPEAKER_04: What is what is your dream life like?
• 6:30
SPEAKER_01: Well, the past, I would say a better half or better portion of a year, I have been just traveling all over the world to places I've always wanted to travel to.
• 6:40
SPEAKER_01: And I am helping people and providing service to the world and in my eyes, uh making the world a better place along my journey and through my work.
• 6:49
SPEAKER_01: And it's just coming from the heart, and I feel very aligned with my soul and why I'm here.
• 6:55
SPEAKER_01: And, you know, it just feels good.
• 6:57
SPEAKER_01: And I've spent some so much of my life out of alignment and doing things for other people, other dreams and things that I thought I should be doing, whether that's through society and you know, conditioning from growing up, but uh here I am now, and it's so clear.
• 7:14
  SPEAKER_04: Love it.
• 7:14
SPEAKER_04: So living a life of fulfillment, purpose, meaning, and also freedom.
• 7:20
SPEAKER_04: What are some of the places that you got to visit over the past year since you've been free?
• 7:25
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I spent quite a bit of time in Peru in the Sacred Valley.
• 7:29
SPEAKER_01: Um, I went to Egypt, I went to Nepal, I went to Tibet.
• 7:33
SPEAKER_01: Um, I've spent a good portion of the last couple months in Bali here, where we connected.
• 7:40
SPEAKER_01: And that's just the beginning, it feels like.
• 7:43
  SPEAKER_04: So cool.
• 7:44
SPEAKER_04: I bet there are people listening on the other side who are would just be dying to visit places like Tibet and Nepal and Peru.
• 7:52
SPEAKER_04: And maybe they think that if they were ever to visit those places, their only option would be to wait until retirement.
• 7:58
SPEAKER_04: Do you relate to that belief at all?
• 8:02
  SPEAKER_04: Or did you ever?
• 8:03
SPEAKER_01: It's actually funny you say that because initially that's what I was waiting for.
• 8:06
SPEAKER_01: I was like, you know what, I'll wait till I'm financially a little more stable, like a little more abundance on the financial side of things, or I could just go into the world and do things and travel and not have to worry about money.
• 8:18
SPEAKER_01: Literally, like with waiting until I'm 45, 50, I always wanted to retire early, but I had this calling a couple years ago that it was just time to do it.
• 8:26
SPEAKER_01: And there's a way the universe works, whatever we want to call it.
• 8:32
SPEAKER_01: Um, I like to just say like alignment with our heart.
• 8:34
SPEAKER_01: But when we do things, when we listen to our heart's callings and we hear these, we have these visions.
• 8:39
SPEAKER_01: You know, we don't get these uh these callings and these visions just to sort of um mislead us.
• 8:46
SPEAKER_01: They're there to actually lead us, you know, it's not to tease us, but to lead us, I like to say.
• 8:51
SPEAKER_01: And I just listened and one day I booked all the flights and retreats, put it on a credit card, so I'll figure it out later.
• 8:58
SPEAKER_01: Well, and uh was pretty scary at the time.
• 9:03
SPEAKER_01: And to this point, I just you know followed that calling and things came together, you know, financial help and assistance and and abundance started flowing in just because I was starting to move more in alignment with my heart.
• 9:17
SPEAKER_01: And I really do feel like there's there's you know, we can go deep on that later, but uh there's things happen for us when we begin moving in alignment with our heart.
• 9:26
  SPEAKER_04: I so believe that.
• 9:28
SPEAKER_04: Um, so yeah, that sounds like you did take a big scary move to trust the process that you were fully embodied in trusting the process and surrendering to the path that maybe something else or your higher self had for you.
• 9:42
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 9:43
SPEAKER_04: So um, I would love to just really zoom into maybe the the weeks or months or years, however much, however long you want to take us back to before that big pivotal moment where you just had that, I don't know what you call it, a snap decision and changed everything.
• 10:02
SPEAKER_04: Um, so what did life look like for you before all of this?
• 10:07
  SPEAKER_01: So I guess we'll go back.
• 10:08
SPEAKER_01: I graduated from college in 2016, and college was kind of tough for me.
• 10:13
SPEAKER_01: I don't necessarily like learning and studying things unless I am passionate about them, but made it through and graduated and actually had an amazing job offer, like my dream job.
• 10:23
SPEAKER_01: We can say I manifested that as well as sort of the life now.
• 10:26
SPEAKER_04: But what was your dream job?
• 10:28
SPEAKER_01: Uh was to work in med device sales.
• 10:30
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 10:30
SPEAKER_01: Something that my father's done for many years, was always, you know, doing really well, took care of our family and gave us a really nice childhood.
• 10:38
SPEAKER_01: And um I kind of always saw myself going down that path.
• 10:42
SPEAKER_01: And I had an amazing opportunity coming out of college, jumped all over it, and really spent about four years, you know, doing that and traveling the country, making the most money, you know, on paper I'd ever made at a very young age, you know, doing very well, sort of seeing this split sort of between an old lifestyle of partying and um chasing girls and sort of doing what a lot of young guys do in college and coming out of college and got really focused on business.
• 11:12
SPEAKER_01: But what I learned through that process was this idea of working in this job, doing med-device sales was something that I wanted to do because my dad did it and you know, always told me it would be a really amazing path for me.
• 11:27
SPEAKER_01: And I had never really taken time to figure out what I really wanted to do in life.
• 11:31
SPEAKER_01: So I spent many years doing this job, traveling around the world and basically finding out that it wasn't really for me.
• 11:42
SPEAKER_01: I was sacrificing a lot of my mental health, my physical health.
• 11:45
SPEAKER_01: I stopped, stopped going to the gym, didn't have enough time, um, was eating out quite a bit on the company budget as I was traveling, you know, really not taking care of my health.
• 11:54
SPEAKER_01: And then my also my mental health was declining significantly, uh, just not being fulfilled, not living in purpose.
• 12:00
SPEAKER_01: And I think a lot of people do deal with these mental health struggles because they're just not in alignment with, you know, something that they truly want to do, something more authentic to them.
• 12:10
SPEAKER_01: And uh it got to a point, the company I was working for was sold, and it was a good time for me to jump into something else more aligned.
• 12:18
SPEAKER_01: And I tried to do a couple different business ventures with friends of mine, never anything from me, from my own heart or from my own passion.
• 12:26
SPEAKER_01: I was always joining other people's ventures, just trying to be an entrepreneur.
• 12:29
SPEAKER_01: I always wanted the freedom and the lifestyle, which I enjoyed, you know, a little more freedom, not having a boss.
• 12:35
SPEAKER_01: But ultimately, I still wasn't doing anything that I wanted to do.
• 12:39
SPEAKER_01: I was still following other people's, you know, passions and different ventures and projects.
• 12:44
SPEAKER_01: And then until about, I guess it would be a little bit, maybe like 18 months ago, I finally nothing was working out.
• 12:54
SPEAKER_01: I think, no coincidence that these other adventures with other people that were not mine or aligned with my purpose and passion just weren't working out for me.
• 13:03
SPEAKER_01: And I was spending all my money, investing it, all my time, all my energy, and still I was not being able to find any alignment or true fulfillment or really just peace and joy in life.
• 13:14
SPEAKER_01: And uh I started working on myself, you know, doing healing, working on meditation, which I've been doing for years, but really listening to myself and doing the inner work is like we like to call it.
• 13:26
SPEAKER_01: And these callings started coming out, and it was to travel and to find myself in the world and to start helping people, like I was able to help myself over the years with healing and self-discovery, self-realization.
• 13:41
SPEAKER_01: And uh now, I mean, it's gone by so quick, and it's really only been, you know, like a the greater half of like a year or the greater maybe like 16, 17 months where I really dove into this and so much has changed.
• 13:54
SPEAKER_01: Like my complete myself and my life has completely transformed.
• 13:58
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I remember when you were telling me the story, I was like, wait, you're the the the 180-degree shift from not that long ago to here is really incredible.
• 14:07
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 14:08
SPEAKER_04: Um, there was one little part of your story that I was like, that is so interesting that I know is gonna help someone listening to this.
• 14:15
SPEAKER_04: So it was your comment about meditation and how you had actually been doing it for years, but then you reached this moment of frustration that had you approach it differently.
• 14:29
SPEAKER_04: And I just I feel like I I heard this little message of someone, maybe it was one of my previous clients, being like, but I'm I'm doing the work, I'm meditating every day and I still don't have the answers.
• 14:40
SPEAKER_04: I still don't know what's right for me, I still don't know what career I want to pursue, I still don't know because I, you know, what I do, I'm constantly talking to people who they know they want a different life and they just they don't know how to get it because they're not sure what direction to go in.
• 14:57
SPEAKER_04: So I help them find that direction.
• 14:59
SPEAKER_04: And yeah, I think I did I hear people all the time saying that they're doing everything that they can to get it and they're still not getting results.
• 15:07
SPEAKER_04: So it sounds like you were possibly in that situation before and then something changed.
• 15:13
SPEAKER_04: So what was it that changed?
• 15:17
SPEAKER_01: Um It was, you know, they say follow your heart, these sorts of things, you know, as cliche as it can sound.
• 15:26
SPEAKER_01: But there's actually a lot of science.
• 15:27
SPEAKER_01: It talks about the power of the heart, and I believe it is like the key behind not only manifestation and like the law of attraction, we can call it, um, but also for finding our soul's purpose.
• 15:40
SPEAKER_01: You know, they say the heart is the seat of the soul, and this is where our soul begins to live through us in this life.
• 15:46
SPEAKER_01: But I stopped meditating, or let's say I was meditating for healing, inner peace, these sorts of things, and was finding a lot of peace, being able to control my emotions better, being less reactive in life, the things a lot of people do meditation for, spiritual purposes, connecting with spirit.
• 16:02
SPEAKER_01: But when I started specifically focusing on my heart, like can taking my awareness, my attention, keeping it in my heart, Joe Dispenza does a lot of this work, the Heart Math Institute.
• 16:15
SPEAKER_01: Um, but specifically focusing there and listening.
• 16:19
SPEAKER_01: So dropping into stillness, not doing guided meditations.
• 16:22
SPEAKER_01: If there's music, it's it's quiet, there's no words, and really just listening, letting the mind come to some sort of stillness and seeing what comes up.
• 16:32
SPEAKER_01: Because the heart whispers, you know, the mind is loud, it talks constantly and very, you know, loud.
• 16:38
SPEAKER_01: And if we can just allow that to kind of simmer down through, you know, sometimes it takes months and years to, you know, through meditation practice to allow that to happen.
• 16:48
SPEAKER_01: But when we do, and we specifically bring our attention to our heart, is when these whispers of our soul start to come out.
• 16:55
SPEAKER_01: And that's when at some point I just started hearing these things, and it became through in a different frequency than my thoughts come in, where I could, you know, tell very much this is from a higher higher self, higher source, higher power.
• 17:09
SPEAKER_01: And I started journaling about it and taking these things down.
• 17:13
SPEAKER_01: And one day I just like pulled out my whiteboard and was jotting everything down about this this mission that came through one day.
• 17:21
SPEAKER_01: And and then yeah, I just what was the mission?
• 17:26
SPEAKER_01: Um I've always wanted to change the world, and I knew from my studies of different mystical, different religions, mystery schools, esoteric traditions.
• 17:40
SPEAKER_01: Like I've I've studied deep for many years on the self.
• 17:43
SPEAKER_01: Like we can only change the world by changing ourselves.
• 17:46
SPEAKER_01: So I was on a uh a mission or let's say uh a path of changing who I was, how I showed up for the world, how I felt, you know, my frequency, we could say.
• 17:56
SPEAKER_01: And as I was able to sort of change my frequency and get into like a higher vibration, a more like love-embodied from from self-love, taking care of myself, stopping all the partying and doing things for other people and worrying about what other people think about me, really taking care of myself is when, yeah, things just be fell into alignment.
• 18:20
SPEAKER_01: I think when we're aligned, life becomes aligned.
• 18:22
SPEAKER_01: You know, our internal world is a reflection, or the outer world is a reflection of our internal world.
• 18:27
SPEAKER_01: And this is where we can do the work.
• 18:29
SPEAKER_01: We don't really have control over things outside of us.
• 18:32
SPEAKER_01: And the more I took control of my internal world and the more I was able to sort of shape reality, my external world in my favor.
• 18:42
  SPEAKER_04: So cool.
• 18:43
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 18:44
  SPEAKER_04: Nice.
• 18:44
SPEAKER_04: Um, my listeners know that I talk a lot about the visions that I have in my head when I'm talking.
• 18:50
SPEAKER_04: Um, so I had a vision of it, it was actually just a bell curve about the way that your life maybe started to feel.
• 18:59
SPEAKER_04: So it was like for a long time, you were sort of at the bottom of the bell curve, like you were saying you were working tirelessly, not eating well, not really taking care of yourself, mental health was suffering.
• 19:10
SPEAKER_04: And you were, so maybe the meditation brought you up a little bit.
• 19:14
SPEAKER_04: And then that kind of like lasted for a while, where you started being less reactive and and more calm.
• 19:20
SPEAKER_04: But then it was as you started listening, it was like this graph starts going up higher and higher and higher.
• 19:26
SPEAKER_04: And I'm imagining you like having the world around you start to become just lighter in general, even though you probably were in the same, you were in the same job and doing having the same life, but maybe things just started to feel better.
• 19:38
SPEAKER_04: And then it was like when you got to the top of the bell curve, that was like, okay, it's time everything's gonna change.
• 19:43
SPEAKER_04: And suddenly you're on you're on the other side.
• 19:46
  SPEAKER_04: Does that feel true?
• 19:47
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, 100% spot uncle.
• 19:49
  SPEAKER_01: So visual for you.
• 19:51
  SPEAKER_04: Um amazing.
• 19:53
SPEAKER_04: So if you had any messages for someone who maybe is in that situation where they're like at the bottom of the bell curve, or maybe they've been doing the quote work, like they've been meditating.
• 20:03
SPEAKER_04: Um, if you had one piece of advice or maybe a book or something for them to read, or maybe something practical that they can start doing.
• 20:10
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 20:11
  SPEAKER_01: Um, wow, that's a beautiful topic.
• 20:14
SPEAKER_01: But I would say have faith, like truly, believe in yourself.
• 20:20
SPEAKER_01: Like again, just to reiterate, like we don't have these visions and and callings within us just to just they're not just thoughts, you know, they're there to lead us into our alignment into the path we're here to take.
• 20:32
SPEAKER_01: And it's our choice whether we want to do that or not, or how long it takes for us to get to it.
• 20:36
SPEAKER_01: But ultimately, you know, the inner work is a lifelong thing and people can get frustrated because sometimes they can feel like it's not going anywhere or it's taking forever.
• 20:46
SPEAKER_01: But have faith, everything happens in divine timing.
• 20:49
SPEAKER_01: Every part of my journey, I can look back now and see how it served, you know, the person I am today and the way I'm able to help people now.
• 20:56
SPEAKER_01: And if you just jump straight to success or straight to the dream life without the journey there, how can you relate to people and help people out on their journey?
• 21:06
SPEAKER_01: You know, how are people going to connect with you and your journey if you just go straight to the end point?
• 21:11
SPEAKER_04: Actually, I just want to talk to the listeners and just ask you a question, maybe something to ponder after this episode, or or you can even pause the episode and think about it.
• 21:20
SPEAKER_04: But have you ever received a message that you ignored?
• 21:26
SPEAKER_04: Was there ever a moment when you had some kind of intuition or a voice or something where you were told that you were not on the right path, or there was a different path that you could be following, but then you let your conscious mind take over.
• 21:43
SPEAKER_04: And the conscious mind could be, well, but dad did this, and dad made a lot of money doing this, and everybody else says that I'm good at it.
• 21:50
SPEAKER_04: And what's supposed to matter to me is money.
• 21:53
SPEAKER_04: What's supposed to matter to me is validation from other people.
• 21:57
SPEAKER_04: What's supposed to matter to me is the car that I drive or the house that I live in, or the fact that there is no gap on my resume.
• 22:04
SPEAKER_04: Like there are all these practical things in our world that I think a lot of people default to giving the most meaning to and the most importance when actually there are these subtle messages that uh yeah, I think people do tend to ignore.
• 22:19
SPEAKER_04: And actually, just uh before we move on to another topic, um, for you, Evan, do you feel like you were getting those messages and you were ignoring them for a while?
• 22:32
SPEAKER_04: Do you remember ever receiving a message that you did end up ignoring?
• 22:37
SPEAKER_04: If so, can you bring us to that moment?
• 22:40
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, absolutely.
• 22:41
SPEAKER_01: And and yes, to answer your question, my whole life since I was a kid, I always wanted to just like help people and change the world.
• 22:47
SPEAKER_01: And I watched my mother just be of service, you know, most of her life and volunteer and just always be, you know, very happy with the work she did and something I always wanted to do.
• 22:57
SPEAKER_01: I love people and I love helping people.
• 22:59
SPEAKER_01: And I do think a big part of why we are here is not only to you know evolve individually, but to help other people evolve and transform and heal.
• 23:09
SPEAKER_01: And yeah, for many years I lived this life of we can say feeding the ego or feeding this idea of this person that I thought I needed to be, who I thought I was, and that was the cool guy who partied, who had, you know, could hang out with, you know, any girl he wanted to, and you know, could basically was getting all this money and doing all these different things.
• 23:36
SPEAKER_01: And but ultimately I was it was a facade.
• 23:40
SPEAKER_01: I was like an actor.
• 23:42
SPEAKER_01: And inside I was miserable.
• 23:44
  SPEAKER_01: I had no peace.
• 23:46
  SPEAKER_01: I didn't know who I was.
• 23:47
SPEAKER_01: I was I was you know lost for lack of better words.
• 23:51
SPEAKER_01: And it was because I was doing things for other people, the perception of other people, trying to feed this, this, uh, this, this mask and and just be be this person who I thought I was.
• 24:05
SPEAKER_01: And that was just to be the cool guy.
• 24:07
SPEAKER_01: And and I thought, you know, my perception of cool has changed quite a bit, you know, at this point.
• 24:15
SPEAKER_01: But um yeah, it was just doing all the wrong things for the wrong reasons until you know I just honestly spent a couple years on my own in in solitude, and I think that is also important on the journey for finding out what we want to do in life and the path we want to do.
• 24:29
SPEAKER_04: In solitude out of relationship?
• 24:31
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and even friends and even family, just spending time on my own.
• 24:35
SPEAKER_01: And I think a lot of people have a tough time doing that, whether it's because they have a tough time sitting with themselves and the thoughts in their brain, which is you know understandable, which we can need to understand that our thoughts most times are not even from us.
• 24:48
SPEAKER_01: They're just these things that have been replaying for years and things we've picked up from the environment and our family and friends, and until we can get in solitude and stillness, and you know, it doesn't even have to be meditation, just journaling, introspection.
• 25:02
SPEAKER_01: We can start to decipher what is ours, what is not ours.
• 25:06
SPEAKER_01: And that's where the alignment comes in because we can figure out who we are and start moving, you know, in accordance with that.
• 25:12
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 25:13
SPEAKER_04: Um, on the comment where you said people have a hard time sitting in solitude, I agree.
• 25:19
SPEAKER_04: Sometimes the thoughts aren't are not ours, and there's a lot of societal conditioning, like you know, things we think that we believe, but it's just because someone else told us to.
• 25:28
SPEAKER_04: I also have a belief that a reason why it's hard for people to sit in silence or to be alone is because there is stuff in their subconscious that's just almost at the surface and they just don't want to look at it.
• 25:42
SPEAKER_04: Because if they have, if they look at it, now they have to do something about it or they have to live with their awareness.
• 25:50
SPEAKER_04: And the thing that could be, you know, just to this specific audience that's listening to this podcast, um, I think something that a lot of people suppress is what they really want.
• 26:01
SPEAKER_04: Like, because a lot of people are following societal expectations, what mom and dad wanted them to do, um, when actually all along they just really wanted to be an artist or a math teacher, or um or they want to be a professional acro yoga person.
• 26:18
SPEAKER_04: Like, oh there's all there's all kinds of like quote silly dreams that people have.
• 26:24
SPEAKER_04: I actually just did a career assessment call with somebody the other day, um, where she was like, Yeah, I just feel out of touch with my passions because it's not that I've never had things that I'm interested in, but they were just always deemed silly.
• 26:38
SPEAKER_04: And I think that's something too that like actually, maybe I don't know if this relates to you or if this resonates with you, but like your comment on I always wanted to change the world.
• 26:51
SPEAKER_04: I bet that there are if you ever said that word to the wrong person who was so committed to being in the nine to five corporate system and say, I want to change the world, you could get shut down real fast for saying something like that to the wrong kind of person.
• 27:10
SPEAKER_04: And then we learn to just, okay, we got shut down, we're just gonna keep it down.
• 27:13
SPEAKER_04: We're actually not gonna tell anybody else again because it feels safe and it makes us feel dumb.
• 27:18
SPEAKER_04: So anyway, for the listeners, my invitation to you is to just try to try to start owning what it is that you actually want.
• 27:25
SPEAKER_04: And you can be like Evan and change everything if you do get in touch with it.
• 27:30
  SPEAKER_04: So um, yeah, Evan.
• 27:31
SPEAKER_04: Okay, so back to your story.
• 27:33
SPEAKER_04: So you were uh starting to connect your heart, the message of I want to change the world was really clear and you knew that you needed to do something about it.
• 27:45
SPEAKER_04: So things started to open up, it started to heal.
• 27:48
SPEAKER_04: But then there was a practical element, you know, where it's like, okay, you want to change the world, but how?
• 27:55
SPEAKER_04: And if you have the dream of let's say, let's say you always knew that you wanted to um, you know, be a healer.
• 28:04
SPEAKER_04: But then how do you know what to do?
• 28:06
  SPEAKER_04: Like what's the strategy?
• 28:07
SPEAKER_04: Like, what do you do first and in what order?
• 28:10
  SPEAKER_04: What needs to change?
• 28:12
SPEAKER_04: How did you know what to do?
• 28:13
SPEAKER_04: How did you make a change?
• 28:16
  SPEAKER_01: Find help.
• 28:17
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 28:18
SPEAKER_01: You can't do it on your own.
• 28:19
SPEAKER_01: Sometimes, especially in the entrepreneur world, a lot of people think they can do it on their own and these sorts of things.
• 28:26
SPEAKER_01: Um, which is actually tough for me because I I have spent a lot of time coming out of sort of more of a few years of spiritual inner exploration on my own.
• 28:36
SPEAKER_01: And I realized to build my dream life business, to start really helping people, I needed to find someone to show me how to do it.
• 28:44
  SPEAKER_01: I didn't know where I had no direction.
• 28:46
SPEAKER_01: And so I hired a coach, something that I never thought I would do.
• 28:50
SPEAKER_01: And I even in past times would judge other people for I've always figured things out on my own my whole life.
• 28:57
SPEAKER_01: You know, why do people can't also figure it out, you know, until I got to a point where I did need some guidance and I had to surrender and humble myself quite a bit.
• 29:07
SPEAKER_01: And the through sort of divine intervention, I met an amazing coach, and his name is Tim Story, and he he's very well known.
• 29:17
SPEAKER_01: And is there I'll save the story on how we met because it's you know, but it's one of these things where I decided I was going to make a change, I was going to start a business coaching, helping people, providing, you know, healing services.
• 29:30
SPEAKER_01: And when I did, these doors started to open.
• 29:32
SPEAKER_01: I didn't even have to make it happen.
• 29:36
SPEAKER_01: I just basically allowed myself to be open for it to come into my life.
• 29:40
SPEAKER_01: And I was traveling at a conference, met this amazing coach, world famous Tim Story, and you know, essentially humbled myself and started listening and started seeking guidance and then also learning from people that are already doing the work, whether it's on the internet or it's people in the community.
• 30:01
SPEAKER_01: Um what's also just as important as finding like a coach or a guide or a mentor is getting around people on the frequency that you want to be in, being in the right rooms, you know, surrounded by the right people.
• 30:14
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 30:14
SPEAKER_01: And I just stop hanging out with people that, you know, didn't serve my journey and the person I was becoming and got around people I looked up to that I could learn from.
• 30:25
SPEAKER_01: And I mean, it's there's so much that happens when we get in rooms with people that can provide opportunities for us and teach us things.
• 30:33
  SPEAKER_01: So it's super powerful.
• 30:34
  SPEAKER_04: Cool.
• 30:35
SPEAKER_04: It's so the way that you met Tim's story was you intend like you got yourself to the place that he was at, or was it like completely a divine intervention like you ran into him on the street?
• 30:50
SPEAKER_01: Uh yeah, so I actually a little bit of both.
• 30:52
SPEAKER_01: Uh so the way I ran into him was kind of synchronistic, but also I was like coming out of my cave for the first time of just like healing and studying and learning about myself.
• 31:02
SPEAKER_01: And then I was like, okay, it's time to get around people that are a little more conscious, a little more spiritual, a little more um, you know, also here to change the world, make a difference.
• 31:13
SPEAKER_01: So I went to this conference in Miami, drove like four hours one morning all by myself, showed up at the conference, was just hanging out, and even just being there around people on a different wavelength than I was used to, more like in line with my frequency that I was finding myself on at that time.
• 31:29
SPEAKER_01: I could just feel this like weight being lifted off.
• 31:32
SPEAKER_01: Like, oh my God, there's other people out here.
• 31:34
SPEAKER_01: Like I can find new friends and new, a new network of that actually supports my dreams and my calling.
• 31:42
SPEAKER_01: And yeah, I went down for lunch and uh I had actually seen him there.
• 31:46
SPEAKER_01: I knew uh about Tim Story.
• 31:49
SPEAKER_01: I didn't know so much about him, like some of my other friends who are coaches and um already have been doing this work for many, many years.
• 31:56
SPEAKER_01: They know a lot about him and saw him sitting at the bar.
• 32:00
SPEAKER_01: And generally, I'm actually very introverted.
• 32:04
SPEAKER_01: I generally like to stay in my own space and can um shy away from crowds and social situations in the past.
• 32:12
SPEAKER_01: It's a lot different now because I am now in sort of in in service mode and look to connect with people.
• 32:19
SPEAKER_01: But uh I felt this part of my brain, I was like, yeah, just go to the booth by yourself and uh find a nice place to have a quiet lunch.
• 32:26
SPEAKER_01: And then like this this voice that I had been listening to now, you know, that from my heart, which usually is a whisper, but this time was quite loud, so go sit right next to him.
• 32:34
SPEAKER_01: And went and sat down next to him at the bar and we ended up talking.
• 32:37
SPEAKER_01: And I think he has a very strong gift of seeing things in people, and he saw something in me and gave me an opportunity of a lifetime to, you know, work with him.
• 32:47
SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, he works with celebrities and it can be quite a bit of money to work with someone like him.
• 32:53
SPEAKER_01: Uh, he and he just gave me, he met me where I was at and gave me an opportunity to work with him and uh just gave me so much guidance on seeing and believing in myself, you know, something he saw immediately in me that sometimes I would overlook as the mind likes to overthink.
• 33:13
SPEAKER_01: And yeah, it just gave me so much confidence that someone like this was seeing something in me.
• 33:19
SPEAKER_01: And this is what I try to do with people I work with as well, you know, coaches, mentors like yourself as well.
• 33:24
SPEAKER_01: Like we we can see past the conditioning and the mental fog and overthinking, yeah, and see that purity, that gift that's in that person, or those many gifts.
• 33:34
SPEAKER_01: And And yeah, it just gave me the power to start the journey and step into it further and further every day.
• 33:41
  SPEAKER_04: Cool.
• 33:42
  SPEAKER_04: Wow.
• 33:42
SPEAKER_04: So glad that you did tell the story about how you met because it's an amazing story.
• 33:47
SPEAKER_04: So half of me is hearing people listening being like, oh, you just got lucky.
• 33:53
SPEAKER_04: And like that's so cool.
• 33:54
SPEAKER_04: And then the other half of me is like, you did some serious work on yourself and like, you know, attuning to the to the right frequency before that moment happened.
• 34:05
SPEAKER_04: And you actually took action on the voice, on the message that you got.
• 34:11
SPEAKER_04: So what's so interesting is I've I've met some of my mentors in very serendipitous ways like that as well.
• 34:19
  SPEAKER_04: And I don't know, maybe it's just a phrase.
• 34:21
SPEAKER_04: Um, but when the student is ready, the teacher appears.
• 34:25
SPEAKER_04: So I feel like that really uh applies here.
• 34:28
SPEAKER_04: And yeah, you were just ready and you were you were taking action on your readiness, like you got the ticket to the conference.
• 34:36
SPEAKER_04: Um so yeah, just think that's uh amazing.
• 34:40
SPEAKER_04: So you started working with Tim, and uh I guess was that sort of the launch pad to your career?
• 34:47
SPEAKER_04: Did you know at that point that you wanted to be a coach?
• 34:51
SPEAKER_04: Because I think that's my original question, like backtrack however many minutes ago.
• 34:55
SPEAKER_04: I was asking you about the practical strategy of taking the message, the voice that you got and and starting to implement it to change your life.
• 35:05
SPEAKER_04: So your first answer was get help and get mentorship.
• 35:10
  SPEAKER_04: So you did that.
• 35:11
SPEAKER_04: Um, so you knew that you wanted to be a coach, or did you know like what you wanted to do?
• 35:19
SPEAKER_04: The decision was I'm gonna hire um a mentor, or was there were there other steps to the process that you knew you needed to complete?
• 35:26
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I knew I needed a mentor.
• 35:28
SPEAKER_01: That was a big one, and got blessed with the opportunity.
• 35:32
SPEAKER_01: I should also mention that same weekend I spent like a thousand dollars to get on a yacht party situation to get around all these people.
• 35:38
SPEAKER_01: So, like sometimes you do have to invest, you know, not only time, but some some cash, yeah, to get into the right rooms.
• 35:44
  SPEAKER_01: Nice.
• 35:45
SPEAKER_01: I didn't even have it at that time and just threw it on the credit card.
• 35:48
SPEAKER_01: You know, I was like, I need to be on this boat, and thankfully I digs.
• 35:51
SPEAKER_04: I was able to network a little more and was on the boat or like generally.
• 35:55
SPEAKER_01: So this is like the conscious community.
• 35:57
SPEAKER_01: So people like uh like Tim Story, Robert Edward Grant, Billy Carson was actually his conference, and um a couple other big names, like some some big names in the consciousness space.
• 36:09
SPEAKER_01: So I just knew that I had to get around the right people, I had to find a mentor, and I didn't know if I wanted to be a coach, if it was gonna be like a healing guide.
• 36:18
SPEAKER_01: I actually struggled with that quite a bit at first.
• 36:20
SPEAKER_01: Like, what do I name this?
• 36:21
  SPEAKER_01: I didn't want to be a coach.
• 36:23
SPEAKER_01: Coaching always felt like not completely in alignment, and healing guides seemed better because I also do a lot of healing work with energy and plant medicines and you know, teaching meditation and mindfulness.
• 36:34
SPEAKER_01: And it was really just like putting things down on paper, trying things out, trial and error.
• 36:41
SPEAKER_01: You know, this having the Tim on my team was really helpful because he can sort of he knows the industry a lot better and sort of what's going on, and he knows a lot of other coaches.
• 36:51
SPEAKER_01: He's like the coach's coach type of guy, and so he was able to give me some direction and alignment.
• 36:56
SPEAKER_01: But even today, I find myself redefining what I do and who I am, you know, ongoing.
• 37:02
  SPEAKER_01: And I think that's important.
• 37:03
SPEAKER_01: I think we continue to evolve, and the things we do and the and the way we see ourselves and how we present ourselves to the world continues to evolve when we're on that path of evolution.
• 37:13
SPEAKER_01: And you know, the service has changed.
• 37:16
SPEAKER_01: I just started doing energy healing and these sort of things, and it's you know, a gift that I'm so happy I'm stepping into.
• 37:22
SPEAKER_01: And so I think we have to leave ourselves open for more and to redefine ourselves.
• 37:28
SPEAKER_01: So many people, especially in entrepreneurship, put they put themselves in boxes.
• 37:32
SPEAKER_01: And something I love to say, I think it's um originally quoted from Bob Marley, but is the only thing permanent in life is change.
• 37:41
SPEAKER_01: And if we don't embrace change, we'll just be stuck.
• 37:44
SPEAKER_01: And instead of evolving, we'll be revolving.
• 37:49
  SPEAKER_04: Yes.
• 37:50
  SPEAKER_01: So cool.
• 37:51
SPEAKER_04: I didn't know that quote, but Allah Bob Marley.
• 37:54
  SPEAKER_04: Uh cool.
• 37:55
SPEAKER_04: I was I was thinking about the same thing, like the way that people put themselves in boxes.
• 38:00
SPEAKER_04: And it's a conversation I'm constantly having with my clients because if anybody's a first time listening to this podcast, I didn't even introduce myself actually.
• 38:09
SPEAKER_04: So real quick, I'll just talk about what I do.
• 38:12
SPEAKER_04: So you could call me a career coach, but really I help people change their lives by exiting the matrix, exiting the corporate rat race.
• 38:21
SPEAKER_04: A lot of people that work with me, they don't know what it is that they want to do.
• 38:24
SPEAKER_04: They just know that they want to change and I help them figure out what is the career path, and then to build a business around that career path.
• 38:32
SPEAKER_04: Um, so for a lot of people, I think you mentioned this earlier, Evan, is that they are where they are now and then they just want to be at the dream life.
• 38:43
SPEAKER_04: And maybe they've heard that they need a mentor and have some kind of expectation that the dream life will just happen just like that, and that they can skip the growth stage.
• 38:56
SPEAKER_04: So um when I'm helping people come up with a business idea, sometimes it's like, okay, here's gonna be the thing that is gonna be the easiest for you to just actually be a launch pad, like to start making money.
• 39:11
SPEAKER_04: And I think people can get stuck in this, like, yeah, but that might not be what I want to do forever.
• 39:17
SPEAKER_04: Like that might not, but that's not my dream job.
• 39:20
SPEAKER_04: And I want to have my dream job and I I want it, I want to change my life and and never ever look back.
• 39:26
SPEAKER_04: Um, and I think it's because we are conditioned to put ourselves in a box.
• 39:31
SPEAKER_04: I I think that that might come from the corporate environment, you know, especially like if you have a parent who is of the boomer generation, then they believe that you should stay the same company for 20 years and that once you get a job, you should be grateful for that job and you should stay in that job and um just grow in that role.
• 39:51
SPEAKER_04: And the evolution of you in that career is just like kind of ever so slight throughout throughout the years.
• 39:57
SPEAKER_04: Um, and I think that is something that people have been conditioned to believe and embody.
• 40:04
SPEAKER_04: So now if they're already making a big pivot to entrepreneurship, they feel like they need to stay and commit to the one business that they start off with because they're on a new path and it's too much to just keep pivoting all the time.
• 40:20
SPEAKER_04: But based on what you said, I think that that's not true.
• 40:23
SPEAKER_04: And about how you continue to reinvent yourself.
• 40:26
SPEAKER_04: And sometimes you feel like a coach, and sometimes you feel like a healer, and sometimes you feel like something else, and who knows?
• 40:32
SPEAKER_04: Um, but that that it's okay to be constantly doing something different.
• 40:37
SPEAKER_04: What would what would you say to that?
• 40:40
SPEAKER_01: Above all else, this is my motto for life now, is to let joy be your guide.
• 40:47
  SPEAKER_01: Joy.
• 40:48
SPEAKER_01: And that's we can be doing something for five years and it brings us a lot of joy.
• 40:52
SPEAKER_01: And then one day we wake up and we're like, Whoa, what's going on?
• 40:55
SPEAKER_01: This is no longer bringing me the joy it used to.
• 40:58
SPEAKER_01: And that's when it's time for us to make a change and to evolve in a new chapter, a new version of ourselves, and maybe take another risk, maybe put financial success on the back burner to build something more fulfilling.
• 41:10
SPEAKER_01: I think also people need to put joy over money.
• 41:13
SPEAKER_01: You know, like money's great, money allows us to live and have freedom.
• 41:17
SPEAKER_01: But I know from traveling the world and going to places where, you know, a lot of different places, villages where they have less money and seeing the joy that exists in people is such a beautiful perspective that any that I recommend anybody go out in the world and try to see.
• 41:32
SPEAKER_01: And, you know, just especially in the West and the United States, and you know, the culture is all about money and having things.
• 41:39
SPEAKER_01: It's so material, but joy and peace are truly what we all want in life.
• 41:47
SPEAKER_01: I think, you know, some we might want the dream job, the dream house, career, but underneath it, what we really want is peace and joy in life, like true peace and joy.
• 41:56
SPEAKER_01: And that can change for what that looks like in our life.
• 42:01
SPEAKER_01: So yeah, let joy be your guide always.
• 42:04
SPEAKER_04: Let joy be your guide.
• 42:05
SPEAKER_04: So if you want to pivot directions, pivot directions.
• 42:08
SPEAKER_04: You want to call yourself something else, call yourself something else.
• 42:11
SPEAKER_04: Um there were a few other things that you spoke about previously.
• 42:16
SPEAKER_04: Uh so about things that you felt like you needed to move forward.
• 42:23
SPEAKER_04: And you mentioned mentorship and being in the right rooms.
• 42:26
SPEAKER_04: Uh, and in my head, I was like, yes, community, community, community is so important.
• 42:31
SPEAKER_04: The the people that are around us, the the frequency of other people, the support from others, the love from other people.
• 42:38
SPEAKER_04: So what role would you say community has brought to your journey?
• 42:45
SPEAKER_01: Such a big one, especially in like the recent year where I've really just been finding a community that's in alignment and on the same frequency.
• 42:53
SPEAKER_01: Um, I don't, I mean, the entrepreneur crowd is is very diverse.
• 42:57
SPEAKER_01: You know, there's a lot of different types of entrepreneurs and businesses and stuff like that.
• 43:01
SPEAKER_01: So I've had to find, I was in those rooms and meeting people, but ultimately I had to get in very specific types of you know, networks and communities, and that's more of like the conscious, spiritually, we can say like awakened communities, but people that are a little more in touch with the unseen and the soul aspects of reality, energy, and um, you know, even those communities can be very different from each one to each one.
• 43:28
SPEAKER_01: But I've found that we can find these people when we're you know approaching these communities with an open heart and an open mind, and we find our people.
• 43:36
SPEAKER_01: And I do think everybody is a leader in their own way and can build their own community, and that's actually something I'm starting to do a lot more now is to build my own community and provide that space in that, you know, area and and location or whatever it may be online, in person where people can come, be their authentic self.
• 43:56
SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, it's just like our perception of ourself, that what we do in life can evolve and change, like the people that we can be around is is the same thing.
• 44:06
SPEAKER_01: You know, our frequency is going to change, and we need to stay around people in the same frequency or a higher frequency, or doing, like we talked about earlier, you know, things we want to do, places we want to be, and uh, you know, allowing that to embracing change, allowing that to change with everything else is changing in our lives.
• 44:22
SPEAKER_04: So is it um hard for you to go back to your previous community?
• 44:29
SPEAKER_04: Or are you just actually, do you just not go back to your previous community?
• 44:33
SPEAKER_04: Like when you leave Bali and you carry on, are you gonna go back to the US and yeah, tell me a bit about that?
• 44:43
SPEAKER_01: Yes, and I actually go back tomorrow.
• 44:44
  SPEAKER_01: It's pretty sad.
• 44:45
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 44:46
  SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
• 44:47
SPEAKER_01: Um, but there's more adventure uh, you know, to come and a lot of work to do at home.
• 44:51
SPEAKER_01: So yeah, I go back to the States.
• 44:54
SPEAKER_01: And to be honest, I spend a lot of time, you know, on my own.
• 44:58
SPEAKER_01: And that's because I like to protect my energy and it's continue continually evolving.
• 45:04
SPEAKER_01: And sometimes when we're around old friends in old places, it can lower our frequency.
• 45:10
SPEAKER_01: Not to talk too much about energy and frequency, but everything is energy and frequency.
• 45:15
SPEAKER_04: I'm down to talk about energy anytime.
• 45:17
  SPEAKER_01: Uh love it.
• 45:19
SPEAKER_01: And it can be interesting, and I think it's really important for us to take that time alone.
• 45:24
SPEAKER_01: Like when I go home, a lot of integration, like I need to have my alone time to not only like protect my energy, but also to just um be open and not to be open to my own higher communication and um to the visions and callings, all these things we've been talking about.
• 45:44
SPEAKER_01: Like if I'm in my own space, I can hear it very clearly when we're around other people's when we can sort of get clouded with you know other perspectives and thoughts that aren't ours and energy that's not ours.
• 45:53
SPEAKER_01: Um, so it can to answer your question, I don't really go at all around old places and people that aren't also on some sort of journey or you know, working on themselves because it can be quite taxing on myself.
• 46:06
SPEAKER_01: And I know this is the way for like a lot of people who are a little more energy sensitive, but also people who are trying to change their life to be sucked back into old ways pretty quickly, especially with old friends.
• 46:18
SPEAKER_01: And um, but when in that alone time is when we can clear our energy, get back grounded, be able to get more aligned, focus, you know, get the fluff and stuff out of our brains.
• 46:33
  SPEAKER_04: So yeah, for sure.
• 46:35
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I think it's it's um, I mean, I like I said, I I can talk about energy all day, every day.
• 46:42
SPEAKER_04: It's one of my favorite topics.
• 46:44
SPEAKER_04: I think you someone could deem, oh, they're talking about energy, that's woo-woo, or like that's metaphysical or not real or whatever.
• 46:53
SPEAKER_04: But um, I think that it is undeniable that other people affect us and they can affect us emotionally, they can affect us psychologically, and they don't even it's probably not anybody doing it intentionally, but when we do spend time with other people who are not, we don't even have to use the word frequency, that are just not where we are at in our journey.
• 47:19
SPEAKER_04: Like they're on a different path, they're they have different interests, different focuses, um, they have different values, they they care about things that we don't care about anymore.
• 47:30
SPEAKER_04: Um, when we do spend a lot of time with people that are on such a different wavelength, we end up hearing the thoughts in their mind.
• 47:41
SPEAKER_04: And sometimes it replays in our brain before we go to sleep, and and that does and it can influence our our future.
• 47:48
SPEAKER_04: And I think that is sort of why it's so hard to exit the matrix uh because when you're around everybody else that's in it too, it just feels really normal and you're kind of being hit with the same message from all angles.
• 48:06
SPEAKER_04: So um for anybody listening, glad that you're here, glad that you're listening to this episode.
• 48:14
SPEAKER_04: Um, I always tell people like, listen, you know, if you if you live in an environment where um everyone around you is doing the same damn thing, but you want to do something else, there are endless resources online, books that you can read, podcasts that you listen to, YouTube videos, meditations where you can start taking in energy of someone else, even if they're not directly around you.
• 48:39
SPEAKER_04: So yeah, are there any?
• 48:40
SPEAKER_04: Um, you mentioned Jojo Spenza earlier.
• 48:42
SPEAKER_04: Is there anybody else that you love to follow?
• 48:46
SPEAKER_04: Like other people that inspire you or that have been a key part of your mindset shift over the past several years?
• 48:53
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 48:54
  SPEAKER_01: Michael Beckwith is amazing.
• 48:57
  SPEAKER_01: Tim Story's great.
• 48:59
  SPEAKER_01: Uh Robert Edward Grant.
• 49:02
  SPEAKER_01: Um there's there's so many.
• 49:06
SPEAKER_01: You know, people love Eckhart Tolle.
• 49:08
SPEAKER_01: He's he's a great one for you know learning about things a little more deeper topics.
• 49:13
SPEAKER_01: People, I think right now there's like a change in and in evolution, or I should say I know, in the planet and consciousness and in humanity, and things are gonna get deeper and more in line with frequency and energy and these sorts of things.
• 49:26
SPEAKER_01: So I mean, the most important thing we can do is just have an open mind and open heart.
• 49:31
SPEAKER_01: And um as things get changed, things get weirder, as things get more you know, interesting, uh, just have an open mind, open heart.
• 49:41
SPEAKER_04: Before um, before we started recording, you had mentioned that uh you wanted to have you wanted to talk about self-love and why that is so important.
• 49:51
SPEAKER_04: So I'm not even sure how to ask that question, actually, but um would just sort of love to hear your take on maybe what is self-love and why is it even relevant to this conversation?
• 50:06
SPEAKER_01: I think love in general is the most powerful force in the universe.
• 50:11
SPEAKER_01: It's the divinity that runs through all things, including ourselves.
• 50:15
SPEAKER_01: And self-love, until we can truly love ourselves, we can't love anyone else, like truly unconditionally.
• 50:22
SPEAKER_01: And I think it has a lot to do with living authentic and finding our true authentic purpose and path in life.
• 50:28
SPEAKER_01: We have to take the time to give ourselves what we need, give ourselves space from things we don't need, or completely remove them from our life.
• 50:37
SPEAKER_01: And that is because for us to be authentic, you know, we have to accept all parts of ourselves, the good, the bad, the ugly.
• 50:46
  SPEAKER_01: There's there's no, I don't even like to say bad.
• 50:48
SPEAKER_01: There's really no bad in life.
• 50:49
SPEAKER_01: There's like blessings and lessons, and even the lessons are blessings.
• 50:53
SPEAKER_01: And until we can look at these parts of ourselves, everybody has shadows and darkness.
• 50:57
SPEAKER_01: Every human is capable of light and dark, you know, this is um the law of polarity, we can call it.
• 51:02
SPEAKER_01: And if we're running from these bad parts of ourselves, they can show up unconsciously in our life and be more of like a reactive state.
• 51:09
SPEAKER_01: But if we become aware of the shadows or the parts of ourselves we don't like or that, you know, we judge in other people, we can give these things compassion and learn to sort of transcend the reaction and just realize it's a part of us, it's a part of everybody, and that allows us to have more compassion for ourselves and for people.
• 51:30
SPEAKER_01: And I think compassion is just another piece of love.
• 51:33
SPEAKER_01: And if we can develop it for ourselves, we can do it for the world and other people around us.
• 51:38
SPEAKER_01: And overnight, if we all do this, the entire world changes.
• 51:41
  SPEAKER_01: So beautiful.
• 51:43
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 51:43
  SPEAKER_04: I agree.
• 51:44
SPEAKER_04: Is this the kind of stuff that you coach on or teach about?
• 51:48
SPEAKER_04: Is this what you're going to cover in your retreat?
• 51:50
SPEAKER_04: Like I'd love to hear a little bit more about the actual work that you do with your clients.
• 51:54
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, this is exactly what I do with people, amongst a bunch of other things, but it's really just about getting in touch with authentic expression of self, of life, finding out what that looks like, finding out how to get there, um, doing, you know, learning new practices and different knowledge to help ourselves heal, to be more healthy, to create the life of our dreams and to be our best self, to help serve the world in a better way.
• 52:23
SPEAKER_01: You know, we have to do that.
• 52:24
SPEAKER_01: Starts with ourselves, change ourselves.
• 52:26
SPEAKER_01: We can then change the world.
• 52:28
SPEAKER_01: And uh on the retreats, yeah, same thing.
• 52:30
SPEAKER_01: We go, we go deep.
• 52:31
SPEAKER_01: You know, some retreats are purely very spiritual and for healing, and most and a lot of them are also just for freedom and exploration and just connecting with ourselves in a way that allows us to do it in a really deep level, and we can get out of our comfort zones and out of our hometowns and places we live, go out into the world, get new perspectives.
• 52:53
SPEAKER_01: And I think the more we can experience in life, the more we can, the broader we can expand our experiences, our beliefs about the world, our perspectives, is the more we can also expand personally.
• 53:08
  SPEAKER_04: So totally.
• 53:09
SPEAKER_04: I mean, the the retreats, it sounds like it's really in line with your message earlier about just connecting with other people that are on the same wavelength, on the same frequency.
• 53:19
SPEAKER_04: Um, so you have a retreat upcoming in this November 2025, right?
• 53:24
SPEAKER_04: And can you tell us a little bit about it?
• 53:26
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, super excited about this.
• 53:28
SPEAKER_01: I'll have it's gonna be in Egypt, one of the most incredible places in the world from just an adventure standpoint and also just like healing and connecting with energy.
• 53:40
SPEAKER_01: And it's gonna be really special.
• 53:42
SPEAKER_01: So this one is gonna be there's gonna be something for everyone on this retreat.
• 53:46
SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna be probably looking for like 12 to 15 people, and we have about five spots already filled, so it's filling really quickly.
• 53:52
  SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be November 10th through the 21st.
• 53:56
SPEAKER_01: And it's really about experiencing Egypt or the spirit of Egypt in the best way you can.
• 54:01
SPEAKER_01: So it's gonna be five-star accommodations for people to be comfortable for integration, plenty of space and relaxation, a lot of time in the in the temples and the sacred sites to experience the energy and healing and activations that those types of places can provide with the right grounded sort of for the right space held is a big, you know, important part on these journeys.
• 54:25
SPEAKER_01: So myself and my partner and and one of the best guides in Egypt, Muhammad, will be holding space for anything and everything to occur, but also lots of room for freedom, lots of time for people to go and uh go to the restaurants and there's some bars, you know, if people are into that type of stuff.
• 54:44
SPEAKER_01: And also if people want to go for a very, very spiritual experience, there'll be a proper space for that and and everything that can occur.
• 54:53
SPEAKER_01: Um, so we'll be doing sacred sites, temples, all the great stuff, the Great Pyramid, obviously, a private showing in the Great Pyramid, which is like private showing.
• 55:00
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
• 55:01
SPEAKER_01: It's just us in there for a few hours.
• 55:03
SPEAKER_01: It's there's really not a whole lot of experiences I've experienced in life like that.
• 55:06
SPEAKER_01: And also going to the beaches and the islands and cruising on the Nile for a few days with a private chef.
• 55:13
SPEAKER_01: And uh, this is my second trip to Egypt, my first time bringing a group to Egypt.
• 55:18
SPEAKER_01: And because of that, I'm making it very affordable and for this type of experience, like a five-star, all-inclusive experience to Egypt.
• 55:27
SPEAKER_01: Uh so these can generally be pretty expensive, and I like to I want to make it available to people because ultimately I'm just there to be a guide and to hold space.
• 55:35
SPEAKER_01: And I want people to come and have the experience that Egypt can provide.
• 55:38
  SPEAKER_04: So cool.
• 55:39
SPEAKER_04: Wow, it sounds like it's gonna be amazing.
• 55:42
  SPEAKER_04: Nice.
• 55:42
SPEAKER_04: Okay, so anybody who's listening, if you uh are interested, Evan, you shared with me earlier, you actually haven't even announced it the thing publicly.
• 55:51
SPEAKER_04: So the fact that you already have five people signed up is it's pretty wild.
• 55:55
SPEAKER_04: Uh so get on it if you're is it for men and women?
• 55:57
  SPEAKER_01: Men and woman, correct.
• 55:58
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 55:59
  SPEAKER_04: Cool.
• 56:00
SPEAKER_04: Um like where will I be in November?
• 56:01
  SPEAKER_04: I want to come.
• 56:02
  SPEAKER_04: Let's go.
• 56:03
  SPEAKER_01: Maybe.
• 56:04
  SPEAKER_04: Um cool.
• 56:05
SPEAKER_04: So that's your that's like what the retreats are like.
• 56:08
SPEAKER_04: Um, how about in your coaching, coaching business?
• 56:11
  SPEAKER_04: What's that like?
• 56:12
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so that can be it's a very tailored experience.
• 56:15
SPEAKER_01: I find that everybody is a unique soul and human and their journey is unique.
• 56:21
SPEAKER_01: So the way I work with people is very unique and tailored and individual.
• 56:25
SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, broadly speaking, it's all about connecting deeper with ourselves and finding more purpose and more passion and finding the courage and the strength and the faith to take leaps and also support and you know, having someone that's done the work, that's gone through the journey and these speed bumps and hard decisions that can come along that path, uh, having someone that can guide and support along that journey.
• 56:50
SPEAKER_01: Um, but also I I go much even even deeper in healing work.
• 56:54
SPEAKER_01: So I'm an energy healer, I work with plant medicines and earth medicines.
• 56:57
SPEAKER_01: So a lot of it is body, mind, spirit, holistic health, integrated health.
• 57:03
SPEAKER_01: So we take care of ourselves and the life we want to create from every single angle.
• 57:10
SPEAKER_01: And I think it's important a lot of people teach mindset and coach these very specific things.
• 57:16
SPEAKER_01: And I found I can provide the best service to people and allow them to help themselves, which is what it's all about ultimately, giving them the tools to help themselves by approaching it from every single angle.
• 57:27
  SPEAKER_01: And uh yeah.
• 57:29
  SPEAKER_04: Cool.
• 57:30
SPEAKER_04: So is it there's not a specific uh kind of like challenge that you help people overcoming?
• 57:36
SPEAKER_04: It's sort of just whoever feels like they need an upgrade.
• 57:39
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 57:40
SPEAKER_01: And then I would say helping men find a lot more peace and joy in life, a lot more alignment.
• 57:50
SPEAKER_01: And a lot of men, entrepreneurs, are successful on paper, they're doing a lot in the world.
• 57:58
SPEAKER_01: I just show them and give them the tools and resources how to do the inner work.
• 58:04
SPEAKER_01: And this is going to be more and more important for people as the world continues to change, as consciousness and humanity evolves.
• 58:11
SPEAKER_01: We're gonna be moving more into like a world of energy and frequency and feeling and less thinking.
• 58:17
SPEAKER_01: And when we can feel, you know, this is this is the heart over the mind sort of situation.
• 58:23
SPEAKER_01: And I just I just see the entire world changing in this direction.
• 58:26
SPEAKER_01: So a lot more men, even women, everybody is gonna be moving in this direction, but helping people figure out how to do the inner work so that they can change their outer reality because the outer world is a direct reflection of our inner world.
• 58:40
SPEAKER_04: So agreed, couldn't agree more.
• 58:42
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 58:42
SPEAKER_04: Do you think that um does it feel different for you working with women versus men?
• 58:49
SPEAKER_04: Like do they tend to experience slightly different things?
• 58:53
SPEAKER_04: Do they react in different ways to healing?
• 58:56
SPEAKER_04: Just curious about your experience.
• 58:58
SPEAKER_04: I I work with men as well.
• 59:01
SPEAKER_04: Um and it's not that we keep it totally surface level in the in the program at all, but I've found that when I'm working with men versus women, um with women, we tend to have like more emotional conversations.
• 59:16
SPEAKER_04: And if I'm coaching a man through the process of starting a business, he's kind of like, okay, tell me what to do.
• 59:21
SPEAKER_04: Okay, I'll do that, okay, I'll do that.
• 59:22
SPEAKER_04: All right, here's what I've done next.
• 59:24
SPEAKER_04: And it's um it's just more business, which is fine.
• 59:28
SPEAKER_04: Um, but I'm curious from your perspective, when you are working with men on these deeper subjects, is that a different experience than working with women?
• 59:38
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, definitely.
• 59:40
SPEAKER_01: In the same way you said, like the women tend to be a little more receptive and open to the unseen, less let's say, like emotional stuff, or even more like spiritual metaphysical topics, maybe a little more in tune or awakened to these sort of things.
• 59:55
SPEAKER_01: And I think it's just because men have been more conditioned to be closed off and to be tough and strong.
• 1:00:03
SPEAKER_01: And there's this way a man should be, you know, that's been existed for who knows how long, you know, generations.
• 1:00:11
  SPEAKER_01: And I think it's wrong.
• 1:00:12
  SPEAKER_01: I think it's incorrect.
• 1:00:13
SPEAKER_01: I think people, men like a true man, can hold his own, he can hold space, but from a place of love, from a place of feeling, um, be in touch with his emotions, emotional maturity, and be able to to truly hold space and to be a leader and to guide is to do it from a space of love, from compassion, from understanding.
• 1:00:33
SPEAKER_01: And we have to do that from the heart.
• 1:00:35
SPEAKER_01: And most times I'm finding in men are very blocked off in the heart and many others, you know, parts of their being.
• 1:00:42
SPEAKER_01: And this involves feeling emotions, past traumas, processing things, crying.
• 1:00:49
SPEAKER_01: I cry all the time.
• 1:00:50
SPEAKER_01: Joy, and if anything, if something bad happens, I let it flow.
• 1:00:53
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 1:00:54
  SPEAKER_04: Best thing ever.
• 1:00:55
SPEAKER_01: Crying is healing, you know, it's it happens for a reason.
• 1:00:57
  SPEAKER_04: It's release.
• 1:00:58
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 1:00:59
SPEAKER_01: And I find so many guys have haven't ever cried in their life or just don't even know how to cry.
• 1:01:04
SPEAKER_01: And so sometimes it's just teaching guys how to get that, you know, move that emotion and move that energy.
• 1:01:11
  SPEAKER_01: And uh yeah.
• 1:01:12
  SPEAKER_04: Nice.
• 1:01:13
  SPEAKER_04: Wow, powerful.
• 1:01:15
SPEAKER_04: Um and you said you utilize plant medicine in in uh some of your programs, I guess you'd say.
• 1:01:23
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I've been working with uh psilocybin mushrooms and a few other plant medicines like San Pedro Wachuma, which is from Peru and the Andes and found all over the world.
• 1:01:33
SPEAKER_01: But I work with those two very closely, as well as things like cacao and hape.
• 1:01:38
SPEAKER_01: Uh, I sort of, unless someone is requested a certain plant medicine, I sort of let the, you know, the intuition and and the guiding process bring those sort of things in.
• 1:01:48
SPEAKER_01: But a lot of times I find the best thing and and the best ways to work with people is just through energy and just being open and listening to people.
• 1:01:58
SPEAKER_01: And even just that can have a profound uh shift and healing experience.
• 1:02:03
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 1:02:04
SPEAKER_04: I just um was thinking to myself how much I love having a mentor.
• 1:02:10
SPEAKER_04: It's not that I don't have supportive people in my life, right?
• 1:02:14
SPEAKER_04: I like have amazing friends, my family is so great.
• 1:02:18
SPEAKER_04: Um, so many people that are just are available to hold space for me and and and want me to grow.
• 1:02:25
SPEAKER_04: And then having a mentor, it's just this different experience where you are in a container with this other person, and this other person is just 100% dedicated to supporting you, supporting you in whatever you need.
• 1:02:41
SPEAKER_04: And I think that's so cool the way that you just express that because it's like, yeah, I let my intuition guide me, and you can listen to your intuition because you're giving all of your attention to your intuition guiding you to support this person.
• 1:02:55
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and it's just so powerful working with mentors.
• 1:02:59
SPEAKER_04: Obviously, you know, because you've worked with mentors, and then being a mentor yourself, being able to see your clients' transformations is uh I just love it.
• 1:03:08
  SPEAKER_04: I love love what I do.
• 1:03:09
  SPEAKER_04: It's the best.
• 1:03:09
SPEAKER_04: I'm assuming you do too.
• 1:03:10
  SPEAKER_04: Yes, absolutely.
• 1:03:12
SPEAKER_04: Um Evan, do you have any?
• 1:03:15
SPEAKER_04: I don't know, I guess any channeled messages for whoever is listening to this episode.
• 1:03:22
SPEAKER_04: Like if I just want to say if you're still here listening to this podcast, listening to us chat, I'm assuming there's a part of you that resonates deeply with what it is that we're saying.
• 1:03:34
SPEAKER_04: And I would like to invite you to ask yourself how you ended up here.
• 1:03:40
SPEAKER_04: What is it within you that uh motivated you to listen to this whole, you know, hour so hour or so long message?
• 1:03:48
SPEAKER_04: And Evan, if you could channel your message to whoever it is out there listening, what do you have to say to them?
• 1:03:59
SPEAKER_01: I would say love yourself, be more kind, be more compassionate with yourself and everybody in your life, everything that's happened to you, everything happens for a reason.
• 1:04:12
SPEAKER_01: I like to say everything happens for a good reason, even the bad things that we can perceive as bad.
• 1:04:18
SPEAKER_01: But have faith that the things that are on your heart, on your mind, are there for a reason, and that if you take action and start moving in alignment and start working towards those things with your energy and with your action physically, that it will work out for you every single time.
• 1:04:37
SPEAKER_01: It is a law of the universe, and you're here for a much bigger reason than you've been told, or that you may even believe.
• 1:04:45
SPEAKER_01: And if we can shed those beliefs and those things we've been told, that pure soul purpose, heart-calling essence can begin to flow through us, and then we can take action in alignment with that, and I can just say magic unfolds, your entire life will change.
• 1:05:01
  SPEAKER_01: So go for it.
• 1:05:03
  SPEAKER_04: Amen.
• 1:05:04
  SPEAKER_04: For real.
• 1:05:05
SPEAKER_04: Everything does happen when you everything does change when you just really start paying attention and doing what feels right for you.
• 1:05:12
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 1:05:13
  SPEAKER_04: Trust in the process.
• 1:05:14
SPEAKER_01: Let joy be your guide.
• 1:05:15
  SPEAKER_04: Yes.
• 1:05:16
  SPEAKER_04: That's so beautiful.
• 1:05:17
  SPEAKER_04: Thank you so much.
• 1:05:18
  SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
• 1:05:19
SPEAKER_04: So um, if there's someone listening that wants to get in touch with you, maybe to say thanks for the episode or to join a retreat or to inquire about coaching or anything like that, um, what would be the best way for them to get in touch?
• 1:05:33
  SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
• 1:05:34
SPEAKER_01: So Evan Gage, E-V-A-N-G-A-G-E underscore soulful, and it's with two L's, soulful on all social media platforms.
• 1:05:43
SPEAKER_01: Evan Gage Soulful with two L's.com is my website.
• 1:05:46
SPEAKER_01: And you can book a free session if you'd look to just to connect with me and get to know me, see if it's a good fit if we're moving forward working in any capacity.
• 1:05:55
SPEAKER_01: And any sort of additional information or services or guidance I can provide from there, that's the best way to get in touch with me.
• 1:06:02
  SPEAKER_01: So nice.
• 1:06:03
SPEAKER_04: That's a beautiful offer to do a free session.
• 1:06:05
SPEAKER_04: You're uh obviously here to be of service.
• 1:06:07
  SPEAKER_01: Yes, absolutely.
• 1:06:08
  SPEAKER_04: Love that.
• 1:06:09
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, amazing.
• 1:06:10
SPEAKER_04: Um, well, thank you so much for sharing the details of all your story with me.
• 1:06:15
SPEAKER_04: It was so amazing hearing all of it and such a pleasure having you uh on the podcast.
• 1:06:21
