- 0:11Speaker 2: It is time believe your worries outside and laugh with
- 0:16Speaker 2: us inside the Treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley along with Trey
- 0:20Speaker 2: Trenholm and Jerry called Well. Coming up inside the Treehouse today.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Tim Scattaboo is a moron. Take the ticket to Nisha
- 0:37Speaker 2: and we are going to start with every Man's Nightmare.
- 0:45Speaker 2: A Texas woman is facing charges after allegedly booking an
- 0:49Speaker 2: entire escape room facility and luring her ex boyfriend into
- 0:53Speaker 2: what she advertised as a surprise Valentine's experience. Police say
- 0:59Speaker 2: he thought he was walking into a normal date night
- 1:01Speaker 2: activity instead. The room theme was titled the Truth Will
- 1:08Speaker 2: set You Free if you can find it, Oh boy,
- 1:17Speaker 2: So she threw him into the middle of her own
- 1:20Speaker 2: escape room titled Puzzles of Accountability on Valentine's Day. According
- 1:31Speaker 2: to witnesses, I know, I know you're about to burst,
- 1:36Speaker 2: aren't you.
- 1:42Speaker 3: This would be you know, my version of sauw.
- 1:46Speaker 2: That's exactly what this is. Yeah, all that's missing is
- 1:50Speaker 2: a tiny version of you tre riding around in circles
- 1:53Speaker 2: on a little tricycle. You want to play a game.
- 2:01Speaker 2: According to witnesses, the accountability puzzles included a locked box
- 2:05Speaker 2: labeled Communication that could only be opened by entering the
- 2:10Speaker 2: date he forgot their anniversary, a crossword puzzle where every
- 2:16Speaker 2: clue was one of his excuses, a wall of red
- 2:21Speaker 2: stream connecting printed screenshots labeled just a friend, a countdown
- 2:27Speaker 2: timer titled time you said you needed authorities claim. She
- 2:32Speaker 2: upgraded to the venue's full immersive drama package, which featured
- 2:37Speaker 2: hidden speakers playing voice notes on loop oog machine during
- 2:41Speaker 2: the confrontation chamber, and a final door that only unlocked
- 2:45Speaker 2: when he correctly answered define accountability.
- 2:55Speaker 1: I hed, this gives me nightmares because because you're because
- 3:01Speaker 1: beyond a date, you're you're dealing with her version of facts,
- 3:06Speaker 1: which means you're screwed.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Because it's the way things she remembers things. So your
- 3:17Speaker 1: crossword puzzle isn't what you said, it's what she heard.
- 3:22Speaker 2: And the crossword puzzle in front of you isn't about
- 3:24Speaker 2: the words you find, it's about the words she thinks
- 3:28Speaker 2: are in there. Just a friend, and.
- 3:37Speaker 1: This is everything my last relationship. She was the queen
- 3:42Speaker 1: of this, of the master of deflection. Anytime we're dealing
- 3:47Speaker 1: with something in the present, she is going to bring
- 3:48Speaker 1: up something from a year ago relationship.
- 3:52Speaker 2: What about is.
- 3:54Speaker 4: You know?
- 3:54Speaker 1: That's yeah, stuff you don't not only is it in
- 3:59Speaker 1: fact what you're like, I don't even remember having this discussion,
- 4:03Speaker 1: which a lot of times I was convinced we hadn't.
- 4:05Speaker 3: She just yeah, taking a fire that I would be like, okay, yeah.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Mmmm yeah. That's that's where that's where they can use
- 4:15Speaker 2: our poor memories against us. So they could just create
- 4:17Speaker 2: something and it doesn't have to be real and it
- 4:21Speaker 2: doesn't have to be so convincing that we end up
- 4:24Speaker 2: believing it. It just needs to plant the kernel of
- 4:28Speaker 2: doubt in our mind.
- 4:30Speaker 1: It's not even our poor memories, it's also the fact
- 4:34Speaker 1: she could have dreamt it and then just believed it
- 4:36Speaker 1: was real.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Those are even more dangerous. So yeah. A Texas woman
- 4:43Speaker 2: has been arrested after renting an escape room. A Texas
- 4:46Speaker 2: woman has been arrested after renting an escape room and
- 4:51Speaker 2: making her ex solve puzzles of accountability on Valentine's Day?
- 4:55Speaker 2: So what was the actual thing she was arrested for?
- 4:58Speaker 2: Was a false imprisonment? Well, the truth Jerry like one
- 5:03Speaker 2: of her puzzles will set you free? And this man.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Because if this seems like an extreme scenario Texas woman
- 5:13Speaker 2: arrested after renting an escape room and making her ex
- 5:16Speaker 2: soft puzzles of accountability on Valentine's Day, this sounds like
- 5:22Speaker 2: it would have been more believable had the roles been reversed,
- 5:28Speaker 2: because it sounded odd to me having her challenge him
- 5:36Speaker 2: on puzzles of accountability? Trey, what's your favorite line from
- 5:41Speaker 2: as good as it gets?
- 5:45Speaker 3: I took a woman, and.
- 5:50Speaker 2: How do you write women? So well?
- 5:52Speaker 1: I take a man and I strip away account God,
- 5:55Speaker 1: I just forgot the line reason and account of accountability.
- 5:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Yeah, So I smelled a stinky on this story. I
- 6:04Speaker 2: saw it in a few different places and I was like,
- 6:06Speaker 2: you know, this seems this seems pretty extreme. Let me
- 6:09Speaker 2: check on this. This story does not seem to be real.
- 6:12Speaker 2: This is only a social media news article that has
- 6:16Speaker 2: made the rounds and it keeps boomeranging around the social
- 6:19Speaker 2: media platforms. There is no credible source to this story.
- 6:25Speaker 1: So what you're saying is women just aren't smart enough
- 6:27Speaker 1: or to have enough initiative to do this.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Oh, I didn't say that no sounds like what you said.
- 6:33Speaker 2: No god, oh my god, no, the trade shut up?
- 6:36Speaker 2: All right, I will end up in an escape room,
- 6:37Speaker 2: but which there is no escape.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Because you said this would only be believable if situations
- 6:42Speaker 1: were reversed. No man is going to remember all this
- 6:46Speaker 1: stuff and go to this much trouble to prove a point.
- 6:49Speaker 1: So so what you're saying is, you know, women just wouldn't.
- 6:54Speaker 1: They just couldn't do something like this.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Don't turn this around me. I stepped this up to
- 6:59Speaker 2: put you on a corner.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Baby. How's that working so far?
- 7:03Speaker 2: But not good? You're right all the details stuff. Yeah,
- 7:14Speaker 2: but when I saw this headline and I saw Texas
- 7:18Speaker 2: person escape room puzzles of accountability, I actually checked on
- 7:23Speaker 2: it really quickly to make sure you hadn't been arrested Tree.
- 7:29Speaker 2: I wouldn't or not that you had been arrested.
- 7:32Speaker 3: That, but that you you weren't the one that.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Yeah, that you weren't the one that did this or
- 7:37Speaker 2: were falsely prison yet.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I this. I've had some exces that are crazy
- 7:45Speaker 3: enough to do this.
- 7:47Speaker 1: I would like to think I would be smart enough
- 7:49Speaker 1: not to get lured in. It's one thing, if it's
- 7:53Speaker 1: your current and like this is her way of making
- 7:55Speaker 1: a point. But if my ex invited me to an
- 7:59Speaker 1: escape room, mm hmm.
- 8:03Speaker 3: All the way off.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a big red flag, you know, you know
- 8:07Speaker 2: the big flags one on the edge of Dallas and Irving.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Bigger than those, oh yeah, all red way bigger.
- 8:17Speaker 3: Oh yeah, Clay Cooley would have to get some bigger
- 8:20Speaker 3: flags too. Yeah.
- 8:24Speaker 4: No.
- 8:25Speaker 2: So while this story appears to be false, there is
- 8:31Speaker 2: something we need to consider, and that is this is
- 8:34Speaker 2: a really good idea and this might inspire someone.
- 8:45Speaker 3: Again. You know.
- 8:46Speaker 1: I if you are a guy and your ex invites
- 8:49Speaker 1: you to an escape room and you go, you have it,
- 8:53Speaker 1: you have it coming to you.
- 8:55Speaker 2: You do not go.
- 8:56Speaker 1: I just hope they have some kind of live stream
- 9:03Speaker 1: and we can all well. I mean, you know, this
- 9:06Speaker 1: is like the Truman Show, like just just and met
- 9:10Speaker 1: with some kind of horror movie. Because the only thing
- 9:13Speaker 1: it could make it better is like if the room
- 9:14Speaker 1: is slowly filling up with water.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, even better.
- 9:19Speaker 5: But think it was that way if you wanted to
- 9:20Speaker 5: resign yourself, you could just stand there for a little
- 9:22Speaker 5: while and it would all be better, or just avail deeply.
- 9:26Speaker 3: I was gonna say, or just just go face first
- 9:28Speaker 3: into the.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Sweet release of death. I believe it's the phrase.
- 9:32Speaker 3: He drowned in two inches of water. Yeah, he gave
- 9:35Speaker 3: up quick.
- 9:38Speaker 2: All he was doing was speeding up the inevita. But
- 9:42Speaker 2: it is it really is. This is like, this is
- 9:44Speaker 2: like a a romantic version of romantic. This is this
- 9:49Speaker 2: is a relationship version of saws. Allegedly, Texas woman arrested
- 9:54Speaker 2: for renting an escape room and making her ex soft
- 9:57Speaker 2: puzzles of accountability on Valentine Today. If you happen to
- 10:01Speaker 2: find yourself in that room surrounded by all these puzzles
- 10:04Speaker 2: of accountability, I would also be looking for the saw
- 10:07Speaker 2: in the middle of the floor so it can go
- 10:09Speaker 2: ahead and start trying to saw my foot off.
- 10:14Speaker 3: I mean.
- 10:17Speaker 1: A woman, you know, creating puzzles of accountability. I mean,
- 10:20Speaker 1: did they call the escape room house of irony?
- 10:25Speaker 2: There he is, That's the guy I was looking for.
- 10:34Speaker 6: You're in the tree. Visit us online a treehouseonair dot com.

- 12:42Speaker 2: inside the Treehouse, I'm Dan along with Tray and Jerry.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Tanisha Thompson is accusing a Hurst police officer of using
- 12:50Speaker 2: excessive force when giving her a citation for speeding in
- 12:56Speaker 2: a school zone. She actually released cell phone video that
- 13:02Speaker 2: she had recorded from the inside of her vehicle when
- 13:06Speaker 2: she was dragged out of her vehicle by the Hearst
- 13:09Speaker 2: police officer for her refusal to take a ticket. Well,
- 13:14Speaker 2: since that went viral, Hearst PD said, hey, we have
- 13:17Speaker 2: cameras too, driving.
- 13:19Speaker 4: Through a school zone going forty that's a twenty five
- 13:21Speaker 4: through there. Do you have your driver's license group of
- 13:24Speaker 4: insurance with you today?
- 13:25Speaker 5: Hey?
- 13:26Speaker 2: And so here you have the body cam of the
- 13:29Speaker 2: officer approaching Tanisha and conducting his investigation up the traffic stop.
- 13:37Speaker 2: What does it tray? You look like you got a question?
- 13:39Speaker 1: So this is the same story like it actually came
- 13:44Speaker 1: out like she released the video like a month ago. Yep, okay,
- 13:48Speaker 1: and okay, all right, yeah, because I all right, it's just.
- 13:57Speaker 3: If only they taste her.
- 13:58Speaker 2: That's the only thing this is missing. Swear to god,
- 14:01Speaker 2: it's the only thing that it's missing. She released a
- 14:03Speaker 2: video about a month ago. It sort of went viral,
- 14:09Speaker 2: and Hearst Police did its job, conducted its own internal
- 14:12Speaker 2: investigation and said, yeah, we feel like the officer did
- 14:16Speaker 2: just fine and in fact followed proper protocols and policies
- 14:20Speaker 2: of the Hurst Police Department, and so much so that
- 14:23Speaker 2: we decided to share with you his body can so
- 14:25Speaker 2: you can see the full video, not just Tanishe's clip job.
- 14:32Speaker 3: I'll let the video play before I comment because fair. Okay.
- 14:35Speaker 2: So here's the Hurst officer approaching Tanisha saying, hey, you
- 14:42Speaker 2: you were speeding through a school zone there.
- 14:44Speaker 8: First police department corporal chats with Tanisha Thompson.
- 14:48Speaker 4: Were you all heading to this afternoon coming from?
- 14:54Speaker 5: That's a question.
- 14:56Speaker 2: First of all, she's fine, well within her rights to
- 14:59Speaker 2: respond that way to the officer. What she doesn't realize
- 15:03Speaker 2: is that the reason why the officer is asking her
- 15:05Speaker 2: these questions is not because he's being polite or nosy.
- 15:08Speaker 2: It's because he wants to see not only what she says,
- 15:11Speaker 2: but how she says it. Because if you're going forty
- 15:13Speaker 2: through a twenty five mile proper school zone, maybe you're
- 15:17Speaker 2: on something, maybe you've been drinking. This is why they
- 15:20Speaker 2: talk to you. They want to see if you are slurring,
- 15:24Speaker 2: and they also want to see if they smell anything
- 15:26Speaker 2: on your breath. But anyway, Tanisia holds for him, I'm sorry,
- 15:30Speaker 2: it's not a good okay.
- 15:32Speaker 8: Thompson, who has her child in the front passenger seat,
- 15:35Speaker 8: does not appear to be willing to chat with the
- 15:37Speaker 8: corporal who's investigating her for allegedly speeding in a school zone.
- 15:42Speaker 8: This all happened back on January sixteenth. The corporal continues
- 15:46Speaker 8: to ask questions, any.
- 15:48Speaker 4: Reason for the hurry this afternoon. I wasn't in a hurry.
- 15:51Speaker 4: I didn't even see school. There's a flashing signal as
- 15:54Speaker 4: you were driving through.
- 15:55Speaker 8: The corporal heads to his police vehicle, returning minutes later
- 15:58Speaker 8: with a traffic citation.
- 16:00Speaker 4: Okay, Tanisha, you'll be receiving a citation today for the speed.
- 16:03Speaker 4: I just need to get a signature from you. This
- 16:05Speaker 4: is not an emission of guilt. It's a promise. You're
- 16:08Speaker 4: not gonna sign it. That's fine, I'll just put refuse.
- 16:11Speaker 8: The encounter further escalates as you see Thompson throw the
- 16:15Speaker 8: ticket back at the officer.
- 16:17Speaker 4: All right, here's your copy of the citation.
- 16:19Speaker 2: This is where it gets interesting, and this is where
- 16:21Speaker 2: we'll describe it for you. If you're listening, this would
- 16:24Speaker 2: be a good moment to promote our Patreon where you
- 16:26Speaker 2: can watch this atreon dot com, slash Treehouse on air.
- 16:30Speaker 2: As far as the bills, you know. So he's trying
- 16:32Speaker 2: to hander the paper version of the ticket that she
- 16:34Speaker 2: won't sign. But I'll like I like he said, all
- 16:36Speaker 2: he has to do is just you know, check a
- 16:38Speaker 2: little box. She refused to sign. You're still gonna get
- 16:41Speaker 2: the ticket, that doesn't matter. So he tries to hand
- 16:44Speaker 2: her the ticket and she won't accept it.
- 16:46Speaker 4: Take it, boy, it's going to take it because it's
- 16:48Speaker 4: your citation.
- 16:49Speaker 6: That's your citation.
- 16:51Speaker 2: So then he just kind she won't take it. She
- 16:53Speaker 2: recoils and he just kind of drops the ticket inside
- 16:56Speaker 2: the window. She then grabs it off of her lap
- 16:59Speaker 2: and throws it out of her window, to which the
- 17:03Speaker 2: officer responds that glittering slip out of the corn. Lady,
- 17:10Speaker 2: come on, and oh.
- 17:14Speaker 1: I don't know whether to give her credit for being
- 17:18Speaker 1: honest or stupid. But in her video it shows her
- 17:22Speaker 1: doing throwing the ticket back out mm hmmm. Which it's
- 17:29Speaker 1: gonna get you one way ticket to jail. Like if
- 17:35Speaker 1: you've seen these videos, if you you know, you know,
- 17:41Speaker 1: it's okay, you know, crappy attitude with the officer, everything
- 17:43Speaker 1: else fine, whatever. But and the video I saw it
- 17:48Speaker 1: was obviously edited for social media because it it shows
- 17:51Speaker 1: what's about to happen first, then then it goes back
- 17:53Speaker 1: and then it shows the rest of the story, one
- 17:55Speaker 1: of which is what what preceded the hauling out of
- 17:59Speaker 1: the car was she throws the ticket back on the ground.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Big no, no, don't do that. Here's a hot tip.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Here's a pro tip for you. Don't commit a crime
- 18:10Speaker 2: in front of the police officer who is conducting the investigation,
- 18:13Speaker 2: slash issuing, issuing you a citation for another crime. Let's
- 18:17Speaker 2: not dog pile on on ourselves.
- 18:19Speaker 3: You know, hand off me, Keep your hand off me.
- 18:24Speaker 4: I'm a supervisor.
- 18:29Speaker 2: That part is also very important. I understand she doesn't
- 18:31Speaker 2: want to get out, she wants a supervisor. But then
- 18:33Speaker 2: he calmly responds, I am a supervisor.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Well, there's also this big misconception that it started with.
- 18:47Speaker 3: The sovereign citizen crap.
- 18:51Speaker 1: But there's this big misconception that if you ask for
- 18:54Speaker 1: a supervisor.
- 18:56Speaker 3: They have to send one. They don't. A lot of
- 19:00Speaker 3: times they will just for the headache, to avoid the headache,
- 19:04Speaker 3: but they don't. So keep that in mind, folks.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Yeah mm hmm, just because you ask doesn't mean they're
- 19:14Speaker 2: going to do it.
- 19:17Speaker 4: Ma'am, chill hand, I'm not letting go.
- 19:21Speaker 8: The corporal tries to place Thompson under arrest for nearly
- 19:25Speaker 8: three minutes, finally doing so.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Once back up arrive. Oh, look who's on the ground
- 19:35Speaker 2: next to the ticket? Now roll over? Okay, this is
- 19:50Speaker 2: the part of the video where I'm on her side.
- 19:53Speaker 2: That's a fair question. Every time I see these videos,
- 19:56Speaker 2: the cops don't seem to understand it's really difficult for
- 19:59Speaker 2: the suspect to get their arm or to roll over
- 20:01Speaker 2: when you are fully on top of them. But I
- 20:04Speaker 2: understand that's what they're supposed to say. I give her
- 20:06Speaker 2: credit for saying, well, I can't because you're on top
- 20:09Speaker 2: of me.
- 20:10Speaker 4: I had simply tossed a ticket, and.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Then he simply tossed you, Trey. Have you seen any
- 20:20Speaker 2: of this press conference that she held along with her
- 20:23Speaker 2: civil rights attorney Lee Merritt, I have not. All Right, well,
- 20:30Speaker 2: let me let me share this with you then, because
- 20:32Speaker 2: it just keeps getting better and better. Bear with me
- 20:36Speaker 2: just a moment.
- 20:38Speaker 3: I mean one of the.
- 20:41Speaker 1: As he said, the officer sat there for three minutes
- 20:44Speaker 1: and did not probably could have really forced you out
- 20:47Speaker 1: of the car, but waited for backup so they could
- 20:48Speaker 1: do it. Because had you been in Boytant Beach, he
- 20:52Speaker 1: would have just tasted your ass a lot.
- 20:56Speaker 2: And this this very much has Boyton Beach vibes.
- 20:59Speaker 3: Yeah, several times.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Mm hmm. She does use the word so here she
- 21:06Speaker 2: is here, she is I believe yesterday or a couple
- 21:11Speaker 2: of days ago, outside of I think Hurst City Hall
- 21:14Speaker 2: with her attorney Lee merrit As she makes a statement
- 21:16Speaker 2: about the incident.
- 21:18Speaker 4: I had simply tossed the ticket.
- 21:20Speaker 8: Thompson read a statement in front of reporters Tuesday evening
- 21:23Speaker 8: before sharing her story with Hurst City Council. Her attorney
- 21:27Speaker 8: Lee Merritt answered questions, do.
- 21:31Speaker 2: You see this There's a severe disconnect here when she
- 21:35Speaker 2: is saying I simply tossed a ticket. Yeah, that's littering.
- 21:40Speaker 2: It Does it seem like in the normal course of
- 21:42Speaker 2: a day you should be arrested for that. Absolutely, not
- 21:45Speaker 2: issued a citation. Maybe, But considering you were speeding through
- 21:50Speaker 2: a school zone and then being belligerent with the officer,
- 21:54Speaker 2: all you did was give him a reason when you
- 21:58Speaker 2: threw the ticket out the window. Gave him a reason
- 22:02Speaker 2: to throw cuffs.
- 22:05Speaker 5: Like speeding a lot, like over twice the speed limit
- 22:09Speaker 5: in a school zone. That's I'm surprised she didn't get
- 22:12Speaker 5: pulled out of the car for that.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Yeah, that's so. I'm this is actually really good. What
- 22:18Speaker 2: Lee Merritt her attorney says, here, so listen, here.
- 22:21Speaker 8: Would you recommend to clients moving forward that they should
- 22:25Speaker 8: not crinkle up a traffic ticket and throw it out
- 22:28Speaker 8: the window.
- 22:29Speaker 9: I tell my clients, I tell the public in general,
- 22:33Speaker 9: is not bess to litigate a case on the side
- 22:35Speaker 9: of the road. If you're upset about a police encounter,
- 22:37Speaker 9: hold your piece, hire an attorney, viola complaint with the
- 22:40Speaker 9: police department.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Later.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Amen, Mister merritt Well said absolutely, Well said it's important.
- 22:47Speaker 2: It's important that you hear this because they are considering
- 22:53Speaker 2: legal action against the department. They are considering a civil
- 22:57Speaker 2: rights lawsuit against the department. Word here is considering.
- 23:02Speaker 9: Later, I let the public notes, because this is the law,
- 23:05Speaker 9: that you actually have every right to be rude to
- 23:08Speaker 9: law enforcement, not best practice.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Do you have every right to be rude?
- 23:12Speaker 2: Nuts? And I love that there. You have every right
- 23:14Speaker 2: to be rude, not best practice, but every right to
- 23:17Speaker 2: do it. What he is doing is laying the foundation
- 23:21Speaker 2: not for a lawsuit to be filed, but for the
- 23:24Speaker 2: conversation he's going to have to have with Tanisha and
- 23:27Speaker 2: saying you should have just taken the ticket, Tanisha, and
- 23:30Speaker 2: you're gonna owe me some money because this case is
- 23:33Speaker 2: not going to move forward. You will not you will
- 23:37Speaker 2: not be getting paid on this, which means I'm not
- 23:39Speaker 2: getting paid on this in the amount that you think
- 23:42Speaker 2: you should be.
- 23:43Speaker 1: And honestly, if I am the attorney representing Hurst, if this,
- 23:50Speaker 1: if they should pursue a trial, my opening statement is
- 23:53Speaker 1: this press conference.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Yes, you're what.
- 24:02Speaker 1: I'm gonna go old school. I'm gonna like like we
- 24:04Speaker 1: were in school. I'm gonna wheel in the TV on
- 24:07Speaker 1: a stand with the VCR.
- 24:09Speaker 3: I'm gonna pomp it in. I'm gonna go here.
- 24:12Speaker 2: Ah uh, ladies and like and it's the opening statement, right,
- 24:16Speaker 2: ladies and gentlemen of the jury. I present to you
- 24:20Speaker 2: evidence exhibit a hit play. And then when it's over, uh,
- 24:25Speaker 2: your honor, the prosecution rests. We're all done here. It
- 24:28Speaker 2: took about five minutes.
- 24:30Speaker 3: If necessary, I'll put the TV on the witness stand.
- 24:37Speaker 2: That way, you know, Jimmy the Bayliff feels like he's
- 24:39Speaker 2: a part of it and gets to swear something in
- 24:51Speaker 2: Oh wait, hang on, uh, this is a chief Billy Redle.
- 25:00Speaker 9: Attorney Fola complained with the police department later. I let
- 25:03Speaker 9: the public not just because this is the law that
- 25:05Speaker 9: you actually have every right to be ruled to law enforcement,
- 25:08Speaker 9: not best practice.
- 25:09Speaker 3: Do you have every right to be ruled?
- 25:11Speaker 8: Merrett is debating filing a federal civil rights lawsuit. Hurst
- 25:15Speaker 8: PD is standing by its officer.
- 25:17Speaker 7: Corporal Morgan acted in full accordance with the law and
- 25:20Speaker 7: with our department's policies, and the department stands firmly behind
- 25:25Speaker 7: his actions.
- 25:28Speaker 10: So tonight I spoke with criminologist Alex del Carmen, and
- 25:31Speaker 10: he analyzed that body camera footage and based upon what
- 25:35Speaker 10: he has seen, he believes the officer's actions were lawful.
- 25:39Speaker 10: We will be posting his full quote over our website.
- 25:42Speaker 8: That's foxforrenews dot com.
- 25:45Speaker 2: So yeah, I believe herst is going to be just fine.
- 25:50Speaker 2: But Tanisha, on the other hand, gonna learn a big,
- 25:53Speaker 2: big lesson.
- 25:55Speaker 5: And then after all of that, that ticket has got
- 25:58Speaker 5: to be stupid expensive.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Well yeah, because not just for the ticket for the speeding,
- 26:04Speaker 2: but the ticket for the littering and then the bills
- 26:07Speaker 2: she's gonna get from mister Merritt because he ain't cheap. Mmmm.
- 26:14Speaker 2: You think this was pro bono?
- 26:17Speaker 4: Oh?
- 26:17Speaker 1: I think I think a lot of times any time
- 26:19Speaker 1: an attorney can get in front of camera, they'll they'll
- 26:21Speaker 1: reduce their rates.
- 26:23Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, No, I think you may be right,
- 26:27Speaker 2: but I also feel like that they'll reduce their rate,
- 26:30Speaker 2: especially if they think there's gonna be something on the
- 26:33Speaker 2: back end. And I don't think there's gonna be anything
- 26:36Speaker 2: on the back end for mister Merritt here, So maybe
- 26:38Speaker 2: maybe the payment is just going to be getting on
- 26:40Speaker 2: TV saying hey, if you have a real problem, I'll
- 26:42Speaker 2: represent you, not Tanisi here.
- 26:44Speaker 1: She should have just taken you know what, I would
- 26:49Speaker 1: hire him because common sense absolutely, I mean everything what
- 26:55Speaker 1: he said is absolutely Yes, you have every right to
- 26:58Speaker 1: be rude of the officer.
- 27:00Speaker 3: I wouldn't advise it.
- 27:04Speaker 2: I also wouldn't advise litigating the case at the scene
- 27:08Speaker 2: of the crime.
- 27:10Speaker 3: And don't mess with Texas.

- 28:06Speaker 2: Who calls us? That's too creepy? Jerry? Back inside the
- 28:10Speaker 2: tree House, I'm Danna Malley along with Trey Trendholm and
- 28:13Speaker 2: the star of Hot Girls in Love, Jerry Caldwell. I
- 28:18Speaker 2: did want to share with you Tanisha's full statement fool,
- 28:22Speaker 2: because it's important that you hear this. I want us
- 28:24Speaker 2: to be balanced here on this show. So while I
- 28:28Speaker 2: feel confident that we all agree that Tanisha should just
- 28:31Speaker 2: take the f and ticket, I want to be I
- 28:34Speaker 2: want to be fair to her. In in her press
- 28:38Speaker 2: conference with her very shrewd attorney, she says, I am
- 28:41Speaker 2: speaking today after a Violet arrest that I never could
- 28:44Speaker 2: have imagined I could have. I've seen this a lot.
- 28:47Speaker 2: I've seen I've seen I've seen rest videos like this
- 28:49Speaker 2: countless times. I know exactly what was going to happen. Honestly,
- 28:52Speaker 2: the only thing I'm surprised about is that you didn't
- 28:54Speaker 2: get lit up by a taser. She also says during
- 29:00Speaker 2: the arrest she sustained a black eye, a busted lip,
- 29:02Speaker 2: eating stitches, and severe bruises all over my body. That's
- 29:06Speaker 2: what happens when you get tossed to the ground. I
- 29:08Speaker 2: get that unfortunate, yes, but it's a byproduct of your
- 29:11Speaker 2: own actions. She says. Since that day, I have lived
- 29:14Speaker 2: in constant fear every time I see a police officer.
- 29:18Speaker 2: I have faced cruel backlash for simply seeking accountability. That
- 29:22Speaker 2: means she got hate in the comments. The incident happened
- 29:28Speaker 2: in January, but did not come to light until the
- 29:29Speaker 2: video was posted this month and went viral. According to
- 29:32Speaker 2: Hirst PD, it happened January sixteenth, twenty twenty six, when
- 29:35Speaker 2: Hurst arrived at the traffic stop involving Tanisha Thompson. The
- 29:40Speaker 2: footage captured on her phone showed the moments having the
- 29:43Speaker 2: encounter escalated after she refused to accept the ticket. One
- 29:49Speaker 2: day after WFAA reported the story, the Hurst Police Department
- 29:53Speaker 2: released their body camera footage that we just went through
- 29:58Speaker 2: and said that we stand firmly behind our officer and
- 30:01Speaker 2: his actions.
- 30:03Speaker 1: Bravo Hurst for doing so, But I how old is.
- 30:10Speaker 11: Tanisha did it say I don't think this story mentions yeah, yeah,
- 30:17Speaker 11: she's got a fifteen year old son, so I'll assume thirties,
- 30:22Speaker 11: maybe forties.
- 30:23Speaker 1: I'm gonna guess she has social media, so to say say,
- 30:30Speaker 1: you don't you can't imagine anything like this. There are
- 30:35Speaker 1: thousands of videos of this scenario, and quite frankly, the
- 30:41Speaker 1: officer showed a good deal of restraint in waiting for
- 30:47Speaker 1: like he could have chosen to get her out himself,
- 30:50Speaker 1: and that would have probably been much worse and or
- 30:53Speaker 1: involved voltage.
- 30:58Speaker 3: I should have been better off just going you know what,
- 31:01Speaker 3: I had a bad day.
- 31:02Speaker 2: I screwed up, and you know what the officer would
- 31:08Speaker 2: have been like, Okay, m.
- 31:14Speaker 5: Yeah, but you want to put your toes right there
- 31:16Speaker 5: on the precipice and then hurl yourself over the edge.
- 31:22Speaker 5: Wonder where your bruising battered at the bottom of the cliff.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Just look at his waist. There are multiple reasons why
- 31:30Speaker 1: you're not gonna win this.
- 31:32Speaker 2: Battle, And like a video game, each level gets harder
- 31:40Speaker 2: and harder across that mid section.
- 31:44Speaker 3: And the power up isn't gonna be what you think.
- 31:46Speaker 2: It really is not. I mean, you might see some mushrooms.
- 31:54Speaker 2: You might see some freaky turtles. Yeah.
- 31:57Speaker 3: Anyway, that's.
- 32:01Speaker 2: As I was watching that video, because the first time
- 32:03Speaker 2: I saw it, I'm just saying, over and over, take
- 32:05Speaker 2: the ticket, Tanisha, Tanisha, Tanisha, Tanisha, take the ticket, Tannisia. Nope,
- 32:09Speaker 2: she didn't take it well.
- 32:10Speaker 1: And listen, there's a lot of things where there might
- 32:18Speaker 1: be some gray area, but especially you're in a school zone,
- 32:22Speaker 1: there's the one thing that you're you're not gonna.
- 32:25Speaker 3: Get any leeway on. That's yeah, like the biggest note.
- 32:30Speaker 3: And you've got a kid. You shouldn't know that.
- 32:33Speaker 2: And I think that's one of the biggest areas of
- 32:37Speaker 2: uh non sympathy for her is the fact that this
- 32:40Speaker 2: all started because she was speeding through a school zone
- 32:44Speaker 2: and then she got indignant about it about getting the
- 32:46Speaker 2: citation and the whole scenario. It's just listen, he's not
- 32:53Speaker 2: he's not making it up.
- 32:54Speaker 1: Her attorney really, I mean, it was the most sound advice.
- 32:58Speaker 1: Don't don't try to let it the matter on the
- 33:01Speaker 1: side of the road. I mean, yeah, yeah, you can
- 33:06Speaker 1: be rude to the officer.
- 33:07Speaker 5: Wouldn't advise it, because then when you drop that ticket
- 33:15Speaker 5: they drop you.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Yeah, and I her video showed it even better. It
- 33:23Speaker 1: wasn't a oops I dropped the ticket. It was I
- 33:26Speaker 1: threw it out the window.
- 33:28Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, No, there was some serious attitude. It's
- 33:31Speaker 2: like I don't want that. It's like, okay, here we go.
- 33:34Speaker 3: Time for the fun, right and and you, honestly, that's
- 33:39Speaker 3: not it.
- 33:39Speaker 1: This isn't a deal where you say I'm black, black, white,
- 33:43Speaker 1: red polka dot.
- 33:44Speaker 3: You pull that crap with.
- 33:46Speaker 1: An officer, especially we're talking about speeding in a school zone,
- 33:49Speaker 1: You're gonna get cuff slapped on you.
- 33:51Speaker 3: You are.
- 33:52Speaker 2: And I will say this though, I think it's important
- 33:53Speaker 2: to mention that this is why I'm not a police officer,
- 33:58Speaker 2: because he showed something called restraint before putting on restraints.
- 34:05Speaker 2: As soon as as soon as that piece of paper
- 34:07Speaker 2: goes crumple crumple, fund I am.
- 34:09Speaker 3: I am.
- 34:09Speaker 2: I'm like, my eyes are gonna widen as I reach
- 34:12Speaker 2: for the taser. I'm like, we I'm gonna make a
- 34:16Speaker 2: Christmas tree in the middle of January. I didn't take
- 34:19Speaker 2: my lights down. And here's why. Well, the good news
- 34:25Speaker 2: for Tanisha here is that she's not the only moron
- 34:30Speaker 2: on the planet. And she's also not the only moron
- 34:33Speaker 2: who's making an appearance today inside the treehouse. Uh Trey, Jerry,
- 34:40Speaker 2: I'd like to offer this piece of evidence on New
- 34:43Speaker 2: York Giants running back Cam Skuttaboo showing us all how
- 34:48Speaker 2: stupid he is on a podcast, which is a perfect
- 34:54Speaker 2: spot to do it. I think CT is a real thing. No,
- 35:01Speaker 2: that's an excuse. Do you think CTE is a real thing? No?
- 35:08Speaker 2: I think CT is a real thing. No, that's an excuse.
- 35:13Speaker 2: I think wow. Uh me thinks Cam may already have
- 35:18Speaker 2: some ct E if he's stupid enough to think that. Mmm, wow,
- 35:25Speaker 2: I know right, But he's not done. This is this
- 35:30Speaker 2: is here a professional football player saying CT isn't real,
- 35:36Speaker 2: it's an excuse. And that's not the dumbest thing he
- 35:39Speaker 2: says in this clip. ASTHMA is an excuse too.
- 35:44Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 35:44Speaker 2: Is that a hot take? No, that's a good take.
- 35:49Speaker 2: Is there anything ASTHMA is fake?
- 35:52Speaker 3: Wait? Can you can you start this over? The clip?
- 35:54Speaker 1: Over?
- 35:55Speaker 3: I I I need to soak it all in.
- 35:57Speaker 2: Okay, here we go. I will hit play and leave
- 36:00Speaker 2: it uninterrupted for New York Giants running back Cam Skiddabo
- 36:04Speaker 2: is here to tell us how stupid he is. I
- 36:07Speaker 2: think CT is a real thing. No, that's an excuse.
- 36:12Speaker 2: I think asthma is an excuse too.
- 36:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:14Speaker 2: Is that a hot take? No, that's a good tides.
- 36:18Speaker 2: Is there anything worse than when you're in fourth grade
- 36:21Speaker 2: and someone's huffing and puffing you're just soft? Yeah? Just
- 36:25Speaker 2: literally be better there, touchdown. Never underestimate a man's willingness
- 36:35Speaker 2: to show you how stupid he is. And this is
- 36:38Speaker 2: the cam Skettaboo addition. Yep, yep, wow.
- 36:46Speaker 3: I have just.
- 36:50Speaker 1: You know, it has been said that, especially in for
- 36:58Speaker 1: the New York Giants, is whom he along with his
- 37:01Speaker 1: quarterback Jackson Dart that happened.
- 37:03Speaker 3: They happened to both be white and.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Quite exciting to watch, and fans really have gotten behind them.
- 37:14Speaker 1: But good god, man, like you're you're you're not that popular,
- 37:19Speaker 1: You're not that good. You haven't won a super Bowl,
- 37:24Speaker 1: you you know, Aaron Rodgers went off the deep end
- 37:26Speaker 1: after he won a Super Bowl and was generally regarded
- 37:29Speaker 1: as one of the best quarterbacks ever.
- 37:32Speaker 3: You, sir, are not. You had a flash of a
- 37:35Speaker 3: breakout year, then you got hurt.
- 37:37Speaker 1: Yeah, and not only I mean, I can't even have
- 37:45Speaker 1: I can't even fathom what the NFLPA, who has fought for,
- 37:51Speaker 1: you know, players to get compensation and taken care of.
- 37:56Speaker 3: Going back, you.
- 37:58Speaker 1: Know, to the eighties, My godfather played for the Chiefs.
- 38:03Speaker 1: The most he ever played, I mean, the most he
- 38:06Speaker 1: ever made in a year, and he was good at
- 38:08Speaker 1: one point, voided one of the top ten toughest players
- 38:10Speaker 1: playing in the NFL. Played with broken bones everything else.
- 38:13Speaker 1: The most he ever made in a season is year
- 38:17Speaker 1: he won the Super Bowl, went to the Pro Bowl,
- 38:19Speaker 1: and I think he made sixty or sixty five thousand,
- 38:27Speaker 1: And it wasn't until the strike in the eighties and
- 38:29Speaker 1: then like he made more money when they finally started
- 38:32Speaker 1: taking care of players than he ever did playing and
- 38:35Speaker 1: he was crippled. And so you're just crapping all over
- 38:41Speaker 1: all the work that they have done for years on CTE,
- 38:45Speaker 1: I mean, and it's just common since when you're getting
- 38:49Speaker 1: your head busted around NonStop for years, your brain's.
- 38:54Speaker 12: Probably gonna have a little damage, especially when you think
- 39:00Speaker 12: about and we'll get back to the silliness side of
- 39:02Speaker 12: this and making fun of Cam for being an abject moron, but.
- 39:08Speaker 2: From a human side of it, there have been numerous
- 39:13Speaker 2: former players, not just NFL college all of it, but
- 39:19Speaker 2: there have been numerous former football players that have killed
- 39:23Speaker 2: themselves as a result of CTE. One of the ones
- 39:28Speaker 2: that has stayed with me the longest and has been
- 39:31Speaker 2: the most poignant was Junior Sayou's death. Junior saw as
- 39:36Speaker 2: a Cowboys fan, was one of my favorite non Cowboys
- 39:39Speaker 2: players when he was playing. I loved watching him play
- 39:42Speaker 2: for the Chargers, absolutely loved watching him play. And he
- 39:48Speaker 2: didn't just kill himself because of CTE, but he put
- 39:52Speaker 2: a lot of thought into how he did it. He
- 39:55Speaker 2: was so convinced that he had this new rumored int
- 40:00Speaker 2: alopathy thing that when he took his own life with
- 40:04Speaker 2: a gun a shotgun, I believe he didn't do it
- 40:07Speaker 2: the way most did. He took it in the chest
- 40:11Speaker 2: so he could preserve his brain to be examined posthumously,
- 40:16Speaker 2: because he knew in order to confirm it that's the
- 40:20Speaker 2: only way to confirm it was with by inspecting the brain,
- 40:23Speaker 2: and there's no way to do it while you're alive.
- 40:25Speaker 3: So he killed.
- 40:26Speaker 2: Himself by taking a shotgun blast to the chest and
- 40:29Speaker 2: they confirmed it, Yes, he had CTE. The suicide was
- 40:32Speaker 2: a direct cause of it. And then you got this
- 40:35Speaker 2: idiot running back who hasn't even done the normal NFL
- 40:40Speaker 2: thing of be great, then you can get away with
- 40:44Speaker 2: some stupid stuff. He's just starting out stupid. You are
- 40:49Speaker 2: pissing and laughing on the graves of players that came before.
- 40:53Speaker 2: You say that to set, Say that to Junior Seal's family,
- 40:58Speaker 2: along with a number of other former football players that
- 41:01Speaker 2: have dealt with this and their families. Not on a
- 41:03Speaker 2: podcast with your bro who's dressed up like a Master's winner.
- 41:10Speaker 3: And not only in Junior Seyow.
- 41:14Speaker 1: Left instructions, basically left details of why he did it
- 41:18Speaker 1: this way and instructed them to get his brain too.
- 41:23Speaker 1: I forgot that where where he wanted it sent. But
- 41:25Speaker 1: it was the one doing the majority of the research
- 41:27Speaker 1: on CTE.
- 41:29Speaker 2: Yeah, and when you find my body do this.
- 41:31Speaker 3: Yeah. And he's not the only person who's done that.
- 41:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:36Speaker 3: And I mean.
- 41:38Speaker 1: You look at I mean I have seen some former
- 41:40Speaker 1: players lately where you go, oh, that's I mean Tony
- 41:44Speaker 1: Dorsett has said like sometimes he can't remember how to.
- 41:47Speaker 3: Get home mm hm.
- 41:48Speaker 1: And you know you're talking about the the encephalitis and
- 41:52Speaker 1: off of the ct well, yeah, but like I have
- 41:56Speaker 1: a friend that had got encephalitis, and I've watched her
- 41:59Speaker 1: struggle with it, and uh, you know it's she works
- 42:05Speaker 1: her ass off, but you know that's still.
- 42:09Speaker 3: It's just tragic. I mean that the asthma thing, that's.
- 42:12Speaker 2: Just stupid breath.
- 42:15Speaker 1: And the guy's going, you know, your fourth grade you're huffing.
- 42:19Speaker 1: That is something a fourth grader would say, Oh, you're
- 42:22Speaker 1: just trying to get out out of you know, sprints
- 42:24Speaker 1: or whatever.
- 42:25Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, and.
- 42:29Speaker 2: What a jack off?
- 42:32Speaker 3: Well said thanks, And yeah the host too. You didn't
- 42:37Speaker 3: win the masters?
- 42:38Speaker 2: Uh if your cause playing a Master's champion for your podcast,
- 42:45Speaker 2: that's that's kind of that's kind of sad.
- 42:48Speaker 3: I forget is he in a gold jacket or a
- 42:49Speaker 3: green jacket?
- 42:50Speaker 2: It's green? Okay? Yeah, and just been the height of irony.
- 42:59Speaker 2: Uh but you know what, and here's going kind of
- 43:01Speaker 2: back to the silliness aspect of this. I've enjoyed watching
- 43:06Speaker 2: the cams getaboo play talking about a guy who did
- 43:11Speaker 2: all things miraculous when he was at Arizona State, the
- 43:16Speaker 2: bastion of Scientific Research University Arizona State, in which he
- 43:21Speaker 2: got his degree in twenty twenty four in Liberal Studies
- 43:26Speaker 2: so basically just a bunch of stuff, just took a
- 43:31Speaker 2: bunch of classes, took a bunch of classes that would
- 43:34Speaker 2: amount to enough hours to attain a degree. I think
- 43:39Speaker 2: it would have done him well. It would have served
- 43:42Speaker 2: him better had he actually gone to class some just
- 43:48Speaker 2: one class, just intro to science.
- 43:53Speaker 1: It would serve him well to run the stuff by
- 43:59Speaker 1: an agent, an advisor something.
- 44:01Speaker 3: I'm sure. I'm sure the Giants front office is thrilled.
- 44:05Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, I mean that that's just it.
- 44:17Speaker 3: What point are you trying to make?
- 44:19Speaker 2: Exactly? That was my thought.
- 44:21Speaker 5: What's the endgame of of saying this?
- 44:25Speaker 2: That theme is that he's going to share his The
- 44:29Speaker 2: end game is he is sharing his immense knowledge with
- 44:31Speaker 2: the rest of us, and we all need to be
- 44:33Speaker 2: grateful for it, because clearly he's right.
- 44:38Speaker 3: I mean, well, yeah, this isn't if this was twenty
- 44:42Speaker 3: five years ago.
- 44:44Speaker 1: I'll say, when this when we were first starting to
- 44:48Speaker 1: discuss CTE and long term damage. I'm sure there were
- 44:52Speaker 1: some people who said this, Yeah, but we're now talking
- 44:55Speaker 1: about again billions of dollar later of research of hard evidence,
- 45:05Speaker 1: and you're pulling this. I mean, I guess maybe he
- 45:08Speaker 1: thinks he's gonna appeal to his tough guy working man.
- 45:15Speaker 2: They just gotta do it. You just got to persevere.
- 45:18Speaker 5: There is nothing between you and your goal except you.
- 45:23Speaker 2: Well, look, it's America, and America is a wonderful place
- 45:28Speaker 2: where America will allow you to say any stupid thing
- 45:33Speaker 2: you want. Yay free speech. And in the spirit of that,
- 45:38Speaker 2: on the heels of Camp Skattaboo, saying CT is fake
- 45:43Speaker 2: and asthma is an excuse. I would like to share
- 45:47Speaker 2: my own medical knowledge with you. My extensive research has
- 45:53Speaker 2: led me to believe that an open right angle, that
- 45:58Speaker 2: an open right ankle, this location, a fractured fibula, and
- 46:02Speaker 2: ruptured deltoid ligament are fake. I don't think they're real.
- 46:05Speaker 2: I think it's an excuse. I think it makes you
- 46:08Speaker 2: softer than the snuggle Bear. I think it makes you
- 46:12Speaker 2: softer than an entire roll of charm and you big
- 46:15Speaker 2: giant pussy. Cool science, that's science for you.
- 46:23Speaker 3: What's that, I said, Tape an aspirin to it and
- 46:25Speaker 3: get back in there.
- 46:27Speaker 2: Yeah, you bitch, God what moron?
- 46:39Speaker 3: Yeah, that's special.
- 46:40Speaker 2: It is so special. But again, you know what, I
- 46:42Speaker 2: on the flip side of that, while I get to
- 46:44Speaker 2: comment on it and rate it. I actually appreciate when
- 46:48Speaker 2: my fellow man announces his stupidity to the world, because
- 46:51Speaker 2: at least now we know that whatever he says next,
- 46:57Speaker 2: we don't have to pay much attention to it. For
