- 0:00Speaker 1: You just heard the news.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Now you'll find out what it all means. Hey s
- 0:05Speaker 2: marks alone on seven tenor well, hey, we'll get to
- 0:13Speaker 2: Minnesota all the latest. We'll get to Mom, Donnie, we'll
- 0:17Speaker 2: get to the super Bowl, We'll get to those crazy
- 0:19Speaker 2: late night hosts and more. Minnesota. It's a mess. It's
- 0:26Speaker 2: absolute chaos. It's out of control. The narrative not on
- 0:30Speaker 2: the ground, it's just out of control, this whole narrative.
- 0:32Speaker 2: President Trump getting hands on yesterday trying to fix this.
- 0:36Speaker 2: He has sent Tom Holman to Minnesota to straighten things out.
- 0:41Speaker 2: He's sideline. Christy Nome, who was very upset about it,
- 0:46Speaker 2: demanded to see him last night and came into the
- 0:50Speaker 2: White House for a two hour meeting with President Trump.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Susie Wilds in the room. There was another person there.
- 0:57Speaker 2: I forget who it was, but they hashed it out
- 1:00Speaker 2: for a couple of hours. Some people that have worked
- 1:04Speaker 2: with Trump for years argue that when you're in the
- 1:07Speaker 2: firing line there, when you're in the doghouse, it's better
- 1:10Speaker 2: to stay away for a little while instead of go
- 1:13Speaker 2: right into the lion's den. But Christy nom wanted to
- 1:15Speaker 2: go confront him with all this they had a long talk.
- 1:18Speaker 2: I don't know what's going to come of it. She
- 1:19Speaker 2: probably will remain sidelined for a while and then they'll
- 1:23Speaker 2: decide her fate. There's a chief of Border patrol that
- 1:26Speaker 2: was in Minnesota who has been pulled out of there,
- 1:29Speaker 2: told to get out of Minnesota, take his border patrol
- 1:32Speaker 2: and leap. Problem with Nome and the Border patrol guy
- 1:35Speaker 2: Bavino is they just were too knee jerk in their response,
- 1:41Speaker 2: Gnome saying, pretty the guy that was shot was clearly
- 1:44Speaker 2: a domestic terrorist brandishing a gun. Bavino spoke in the
- 1:49Speaker 2: same kind of way. And then when you look at
- 1:50Speaker 2: the video, that's not the case at all, And it's
- 1:52Speaker 2: not responsible of a public official to start shooting their
- 1:56Speaker 2: mouth off when they haven't really examined the video. It
- 1:59Speaker 2: looks like this may have been a bad shooting. In
- 2:01Speaker 2: the case of Renee Good, it was a totally, absolutely
- 2:06Speaker 2: thousand percent justified shooting. You could argue and have to shoot.
- 2:10Speaker 2: They could have found another way. He's get out of
- 2:11Speaker 2: the way and let her go and catch her somewhere else.
- 2:14Speaker 2: But it is a justified shooting if you fire, and
- 2:17Speaker 2: if you're the guy standing there and the car hits you,
- 2:19Speaker 2: and it did hit the cop, and it's coming at you,
- 2:24Speaker 2: you do fire. You can panic. Now in the case
- 2:27Speaker 2: of this Pretty shooting, it's horrible, it's tragic, But the
- 2:34Speaker 2: guy shouldn't have been there in the first place. You
- 2:37Speaker 2: shouldn't If you're going to go get in the face
- 2:39Speaker 2: of cops and confront them and get all over them,
- 2:42Speaker 2: you probably shouldn't carry a gun on you with extra
- 2:44Speaker 2: magazines while you do that. If you're confronting the police,
- 2:47Speaker 2: don't bring a gun with you. It's not going to
- 2:50Speaker 2: help the situation. The real cause of all this, now,
- 2:54Speaker 2: the cop. It may turn out, they may find he
- 2:56Speaker 2: was wrong in the shooting, was no reason to shoot.
- 2:57Speaker 2: But in all that chaos and commotion, I remember it
- 3:00Speaker 2: looked like Pretty was resisting arrest, which is a crime.
- 3:03Speaker 2: And if your guy's resisting arrest and he has a
- 3:05Speaker 2: gun on him, now nobody knows if the gun accidentally fired.
- 3:09Speaker 2: It's a sig handgun and they're famous for accidentally discharging.
- 3:14Speaker 2: But the real cause of all this, you gotta blame
- 3:17Speaker 2: Tim Waltz and Mayor Fry. This ice operation takes place
- 3:24Speaker 2: all over the country, and if you look at the numbers.
- 3:28Speaker 2: The ICE operations in many many other places are much
- 3:31Speaker 2: much bigger, much bigger, going after many more people, and
- 3:35Speaker 2: it's totally peaceful and calm. And why is that Because
- 3:39Speaker 2: in Texas and other places, the locals cooperate fully. The
- 3:44Speaker 2: local police go with ICE, maintain order, local officials coordinate, cooperate,
- 3:49Speaker 2: and everything is done smoothly, quietly, peacefully. Hey, we had
- 3:54Speaker 2: Bruce Blakeman on the show yesterday, Nasau County executive. You know,
- 3:57Speaker 2: there's been a tremendous amount of ICE activity over the
- 4:01Speaker 2: last year in Nassau County. How come you don't see
- 4:04Speaker 2: any problems there because, as he explained, he cooperates. They
- 4:08Speaker 2: signed an agreement to cooperate fully with ICE, give them
- 4:10Speaker 2: whatever they need. Local police will work with them. They
- 4:14Speaker 2: even lend them jail cells for whatever they need. That
- 4:17Speaker 2: you cooperate, you coordinate, It's that simple. So the difference
- 4:22Speaker 2: here in Minnesota, we haven't really seen this anywhere else.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Not only is there no cooperation, but the local police
- 4:28Speaker 2: don't even show up. When there's protesters out there, massive
- 4:31Speaker 2: amount of protesters confronting ICE, local police are told to
- 4:35Speaker 2: stay away. Normally, when you got a bunch of protesters
- 4:38Speaker 2: like that. Police will always show up just to keep order,
- 4:41Speaker 2: just to make sure the protesters remain orderly and civil
- 4:46Speaker 2: and not physical and not confronting cops. But may Or
- 4:50Speaker 2: Fry obviously told the police stay away, don't get involved.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Same thing with Waltz. He could send in the National Guard.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Whenever you can have these protests. Its it's fine protest,
- 5:00Speaker 2: but you set up a barricade. The ICE agents are here,
- 5:04Speaker 2: and on the other side of the street are the
- 5:05Speaker 2: protesters yelling with their science. You don't let them go
- 5:08Speaker 2: right in the face of ice, get physical, get that
- 5:11Speaker 2: close to them, confront them. It's just gonna it's just
- 5:14Speaker 2: gonna rile things up. And then you've got these two guys,
- 5:17Speaker 2: Fry and Waltz making totally irresponsible statements. You see the
- 5:21Speaker 2: video of Waltz all over TV and online with those
- 5:25Speaker 2: speeches yelling Ice is they're not law enforcement. This is Waltz.
- 5:30Speaker 2: He kept saying, stop calling them law enforcement, they're not
- 5:32Speaker 2: law enforcement. Well, of course they are. But if you
- 5:35Speaker 2: tell these protesters they're not law enforcement, that changes the
- 5:39Speaker 2: whole picture for them. That where he should have made clear,
- 5:42Speaker 2: these are law enforcement. These are official police, law enforcement
- 5:45Speaker 2: be careful with them, don't tangle with them. And you
- 5:49Speaker 2: got Fry is just as bad now. The President trying
- 5:52Speaker 2: to settle this down yesterday, told Noam to stay away.
- 5:56Speaker 2: He pulled her out of the situation, told Bovino to
- 5:59Speaker 2: get out of the minnis. He got on the phone
- 6:02Speaker 2: with Governor Waltz. They had a long conversation. It was
- 6:05Speaker 2: very friendly. Both sides said it went well. Both sides
- 6:09Speaker 2: said they'll no I'll try to cooperate and work together.
- 6:12Speaker 2: He then had a phone call with may Or Fry.
- 6:14Speaker 2: He said that was productive too. I think these two
- 6:17Speaker 2: guys realize they can't I know the game they're playing,
- 6:21Speaker 2: but the game they're playing it may work, but it's
- 6:26Speaker 2: getting some citizens killed. And had to Fry and Waltz
- 6:30Speaker 2: been more responsible. You wouldn't have had these two deaths
- 6:34Speaker 2: if from the beginning they were all over the air saying,
- 6:38Speaker 2: you know, be calm, be peaceful, don't get that close
- 6:40Speaker 2: to the ice agent's protest as loud as you want.
- 6:43Speaker 2: But from across the street, remember on January sixth, as
- 6:48Speaker 2: soon as that started, well everybody started yelling at Trump,
- 6:52Speaker 2: come on the make a statement, tell them to go home,
- 6:54Speaker 2: tell them to be peaceful, tell them to get out
- 6:56Speaker 2: of the capitol. Well where was that for the last
- 7:00Speaker 2: week for Waltz and Fry? Why I never yelling him?
- 7:03Speaker 2: Tell these protesters to not get so confrontational. But we'll
- 7:07Speaker 2: see things will calm down. Waltz even put out a
- 7:09Speaker 2: statement saying he's happy that Tom Holman is going to Minnesota.
- 7:14Speaker 2: He said, even the mayor said, both Governor Waltz and
- 7:17Speaker 2: I want to make it better. So they'll try to
- 7:19Speaker 2: clean this up. Now, how did it get so out
- 7:22Speaker 2: of control? Where you got Waltz and Fry. The other
- 7:25Speaker 2: thing is you got all the left wing media riling
- 7:27Speaker 2: up these protesters, convincing them that people are being beaten
- 7:31Speaker 2: in the street, that these are Nazi goons. They're assaulting people,
- 7:35Speaker 2: yanking people out of their cars. This is going. This
- 7:38Speaker 2: is You may be on Twitter, but all the left
- 7:42Speaker 2: wing are on what's called Blue Sky, that's the liberal Twitter.
- 7:46Speaker 2: And if you look at Blue Sky all day long,
- 7:48Speaker 2: they're just reporting that everybody's being pulled out of their cars,
- 7:51Speaker 2: people are being beaten in the street left and right
- 7:53Speaker 2: by ice. Well, if you thought that was really happening,
- 7:55Speaker 2: and they're convinced of this they're arresting a five year old.
- 7:59Speaker 2: None of this is true, but it gets them all crazy.
- 8:03Speaker 2: And then you got these late night house You got
- 8:05Speaker 2: Jimmy Kimmel last night, who in the opening monologue starts
- 8:09Speaker 2: talking about this every day is now a nightmare and
- 8:14Speaker 2: Kimmel starts to cry on the air. My wife and
- 8:18Speaker 2: I have family in Minneapolis. They're afraid to take their
- 8:20Speaker 2: kids to school. They're afraid to go to work. Kimmel
- 8:24Speaker 2: crying throughout, and no, none of this is true. Check
- 8:28Speaker 2: yesterday Minneapolis schools were full. People showed up at the office.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Nobody's getting bothered except illegals. Well, once in a while
- 8:35Speaker 2: they might slip up and make a mistake, but nobody's
- 8:38Speaker 2: getting nobody's afraid to go to work every day if
- 8:41Speaker 2: they're afraid, I would only be afraid of these crazy
- 8:43Speaker 2: protesters all over the street. And what kind of late
- 8:46Speaker 2: night show is this where the you know it's late
- 8:49Speaker 2: night's supposed to be Johnny Carson, Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien,
- 8:55Speaker 2: David let Himan. You come out and you do an
- 8:57Speaker 2: opening monologue, you make everybody laugh. It's a late night show,
- 9:00Speaker 2: entertainment laughs. Before you go to bed. When did it
- 9:04Speaker 2: turn until you come out and cry and scream and
- 9:06Speaker 2: terrify people right before they're going to go to bed.
- 9:08Speaker 2: On the on the Late night show. Hey, if you're
- 9:11Speaker 2: watching CNN, you're seeing all. Now listen to this. Here's
- 9:13Speaker 2: a typical protester. This is CNN. They put this guy
- 9:16Speaker 2: on the air, this crazy protester, and let him say
- 9:20Speaker 2: this on CNN.
- 9:21Speaker 3: I understand that that they take people to Fort Snelling here,
- 9:24Speaker 3: which literally was built as a concentration camp, and Alligator Alcatraz,
- 9:29Speaker 3: which I think we can all agree is a concentration camp.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Not saying they're dota. I'm not saying they're putting people
- 9:34Speaker 3: in ovens yet, but these are concentration camps.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Okay, I don't need to argue with you.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Yeah, now you get this crazy, ridiculous kind of stuff.
- 9:45Speaker 2: It's like the fake story that they arrested a five
- 9:47Speaker 2: year old. They never arrested a five year old. They
- 9:50Speaker 2: were there to arrest an illegal alien, criminal illegal alien.
- 9:53Speaker 2: When the police he saw the ICE agents coming, he ran,
- 9:57Speaker 2: abandoning his five year old, leaving the five year old
- 10:00Speaker 2: there on the street. So they chased the guy, but
- 10:03Speaker 2: a couple of agents remained and took care of the
- 10:05Speaker 2: five year old. They even took her to McDonald's. They
- 10:07Speaker 2: did not arrest her. But all these fake stories all
- 10:11Speaker 2: over the place. You got a Waltz talking about this
- 10:15Speaker 2: is like people are trapped inside, afraid to go out
- 10:18Speaker 2: and keep pushing this myth. Tim Waltz even said this
- 10:23Speaker 2: is like the diary of Anne Frank, where she's afraid
- 10:25Speaker 2: to go out because of the Nazis. Now, this is
- 10:27Speaker 2: just absolutely awful. Jewish organizations are condemning Waltz for the
- 10:33Speaker 2: Holocaust Museum has come out to condemn him. He says,
- 10:36Speaker 2: it's deeply offensive to compare this to the horrors witnessed
- 10:40Speaker 2: by Anne Frank. It is a horrible, horrible thing to
- 10:43Speaker 2: trivialize the Holocaust, and that's what these guys are doing.
- 10:47Speaker 2: But Press Secretary Caroline Levitt perfect yesterday. Listen, we had
- 10:53Speaker 2: a lot of protesters shot, from Ashley Babbitt to lots
- 10:57Speaker 2: of them. Democrats never said a word. And when do
- 11:00Speaker 2: protesters get shot? When the confrontations get out of control
- 11:04Speaker 2: like January sixth, or the left wing kooks of Minnesota.
- 11:07Speaker 4: But here's Levit yesterday, the pain of American Angel Families
- 11:11Speaker 4: was ignored and dismissed because it undermined the Democrat narrative.
- 11:16Speaker 4: Innocent Americans like Jocelyn Nungray Lake and Riley and Rachel
- 11:19Speaker 4: Morin are just a few of the many victims savagely
- 11:23Speaker 4: murdered by illegal alien criminals earlier this month, and illegal
- 11:27Speaker 4: alien from Mexico with a long criminal history who came
- 11:30Speaker 4: into our country under Joe Biden's administration threw a baseball
- 11:35Speaker 4: sized stone at a school bus carrying children in New
- 11:38Speaker 4: Jersey and fractured the skull of an eight year old
- 11:41Speaker 4: innocent child.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Yeah. Now, be honest, if pretty had been killed by
- 11:46Speaker 2: an illegal alien, you think you'd be hearing it all
- 11:49Speaker 2: over the news. You think it'd be a major news story.
- 11:51Speaker 2: You think it would lead the network news. Here's more
- 11:53Speaker 2: of lovit.
- 11:54Speaker 4: Number One, Governor Waltz Mayerfry and all Democrat leaders should
- 11:58Speaker 4: turn over all criminals illegal aliens currently incarcerated in their
- 12:03Speaker 4: prisons in jails to federal authorities, along with any illegal
- 12:06Speaker 4: aliens with active warrants or known criminal histories for immediate deportation.
- 12:12Speaker 4: Number two, State and local law enforcement must agree to
- 12:16Speaker 4: turn over all illegal aliens who are arrested by local police.
- 12:21Speaker 4: And then thirdly, local police must assist federal law enforcement
- 12:25Speaker 4: in apprehending, in detaining illegal aliens who are wanted for crimes,
- 12:30Speaker 4: especially violent crimes.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Yeah, again, in other states. Texas is a good example,
- 12:36Speaker 2: but many other states, ICE is doing the same exact
- 12:38Speaker 2: thing in much bigger numbers, and it's totally peaceful and
- 12:42Speaker 2: fine because the local authorities coordinate and cooperate.
- 12:46Speaker 4: What the President is referring to is the fact that
- 12:48Speaker 4: you have Governor Wilson and again the mayor, who have
- 12:51Speaker 4: been encouraging these left wing agitators to come out into harass,
- 12:56Speaker 4: into docks, into threatn ice and to make this conversation
- 12:59Speaker 4: about it smear lies about federal law enforcement who again
- 13:03Speaker 4: are just trying to do their jobs in an attempt
- 13:06Speaker 4: to distract from the widespread, massive fraud that has taken
- 13:10Speaker 4: place in their state. Billions in billions of dollars has
- 13:13Speaker 4: been stolen from law abiding taxpayers in Minnesota.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Now here's the other question. People always say, well, these
- 13:20Speaker 2: THESA protests, they're organized, they're funded, who's behind them? You know,
- 13:25Speaker 2: you know about George Soros and the Soros type organizations
- 13:29Speaker 2: that arrange all this. But who's really pushing a lot
- 13:31Speaker 2: of this. Neville Roy Singham. Remember this name, Neville Roy Singham.
- 13:41Speaker 2: He's an American businessman, made billions, social activist. He has
- 13:47Speaker 2: left the country. He's living in Singapore. He is very
- 13:52Speaker 2: closely coordinating with the Chinese Communist Party and from them
- 13:56Speaker 2: he's received millions and millions in funding. Neville Roy Singham
- 14:03Speaker 2: runs a thing called the People's Forum. Congress is looking
- 14:07Speaker 2: into him. The Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith
- 14:10Speaker 2: is demanding all of their records. Again, He's gonna be investigated.
- 14:16Speaker 2: They're going to even the New York Times. Even the
- 14:18Speaker 2: New York Times has come out and said Singham is
- 14:21Speaker 2: running a global web of Chinese propaganda here in the US.
- 14:26Speaker 2: The New York Times investigation unraveled the financial network that
- 14:30Speaker 2: stretches all over the country, all the way back to Shanghai. Singham,
- 14:34Speaker 2: it says. This is the Times known as a socialist
- 14:37Speaker 2: benefactor of far left causes. What is less known, they say,
- 14:42Speaker 2: and is hidden amid a tangle of nonprofit groups and companies,
- 14:46Speaker 2: is that Singham works closely with the Chinese government media machine,
- 14:50Speaker 2: financing its propaganda worldwide. He is, according to Congress. What
- 14:55Speaker 2: they're looking into. That he's incited protests and riots across
- 14:59Speaker 2: the US, including violent demonstrations against immigration and customs enforcement
- 15:05Speaker 2: against ice. So just remember this name, Neville Roy Singman,
- 15:11Speaker 2: the guy financing a lot of this. Now, Bill O'Reilly
- 15:14Speaker 2: will be with us. Not this hour, he'll be with
- 15:16Speaker 2: us right after the news at eleven or at the
- 15:19Speaker 2: second hour. At the top of the hour, Bill O'Reilly
- 15:22Speaker 2: will be with us to talk about this guy, Neville
- 15:24Speaker 2: Roy Singman. Just remember that name. You're going to be
- 15:26Speaker 2: hearing a lot about this guy, the new, maybe even
- 15:29Speaker 2: more dangerous version of George Soros. Hey, we'll take some calls.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Next eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten
- 15:38Speaker 2: is the number eight hundred three two one zero seven ten.
- 15:42Speaker 2: If you're listening to Mark on the iHeartRadio app, save
- 15:45Speaker 2: time and tap the preset button. Now.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Now back to the Mark Simone show on woor.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to Mario in Manhattan. Mario,
- 15:57Speaker 2: how you doing, Hey.
- 15:59Speaker 5: Buys, let me tell you my heart goes out. But
- 16:02Speaker 5: you don't bring a machine gun to a protest. Also,
- 16:06Speaker 5: why don't they protest that they're American veterans.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Let me ask, is somebody chasing you? They're very excited. Huh.
- 16:15Speaker 5: Why don't they protest American veterans out in the elements,
- 16:19Speaker 5: eating and drinking out of garbage cans?
- 16:20Speaker 2: All right, I'll tell them to do that. Let's go
- 16:22Speaker 2: to Tom and Queen's Tom. How you doing, Hey, Mark,
- 16:26Speaker 2: good morning.
- 16:28Speaker 6: I would suggest Trump rename ICE into the National uh
- 16:33Speaker 6: Immigration's Customs Enforcement.
- 16:35Speaker 7: Nice.
- 16:36Speaker 6: That would really throw the protesters off when they got
- 16:39Speaker 6: to go around.
- 16:39Speaker 2: To the idea. I like what, that's not bad. I
- 16:41Speaker 2: call it nice. I like that. Let's go to Kenny
- 16:45Speaker 2: and Bayside Kenny. How you doing?
- 16:47Speaker 6: Oh?
- 16:47Speaker 7: Hi, Mark? When did we officially surrender to China? That's
- 16:50Speaker 7: what I want to know? What President was it? When
- 16:52Speaker 7: did it happen? And it's unfortunate we have unlimited immigrations.
- 16:56Speaker 7: Sixty five immigration actors got to go. Mark, you we
- 16:59Speaker 7: need you on outside like never before, my man.
- 17:03Speaker 2: If you say so, Let's go to h Robert in Westchester. Robert,
- 17:08Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 17:10Speaker 6: Good morning?
- 17:11Speaker 2: Mark?
- 17:11Speaker 6: Thank you for taking my call. I mean, I understand
- 17:14Speaker 6: about President Trump. And the man has his finger on
- 17:17Speaker 6: the pulse and he gets all the first hand information.
- 17:19Speaker 6: So when he makes a decision, he sees the whole picture.
- 17:23Speaker 6: Unfortunately we don't. And that's why a lot of people,
- 17:27Speaker 6: you know, you just feel bad that what happened with
- 17:30Speaker 6: Christy Nolman and especially Bovino and them being taken off
- 17:33Speaker 6: the off the stage. Now. But President Trump knows what
- 17:37Speaker 6: he's doing. And just like the thing with Greenland, there's
- 17:39Speaker 6: a reason why that man is pushing he's not doing
- 17:41Speaker 6: it because he's a real estate agent. He knows he's
- 17:44Speaker 6: got his hand on the pulse and he sees all
- 17:46Speaker 6: the information. And the other thing is when they said
- 17:49Speaker 6: brandishing that weapon, could be that the guy he look
- 17:52Speaker 6: like he had an open coat and his holster might
- 17:55Speaker 6: have been showing and maybe the agents that's what they,
- 17:58Speaker 6: you know, told Christy Nolman.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Yeah, that's part of the investigation. He was armed. He
- 18:02Speaker 2: did have a handgun. And again they're struggling with him
- 18:05Speaker 2: pushing him. He may have had it somewhere on a holster,
- 18:08Speaker 2: on his belt, somewhere along his belt, and the coat
- 18:11Speaker 2: might have opened. One report is you know, when a
- 18:14Speaker 2: copsy's a gun, he's supposed to yell gun. So all
- 18:16Speaker 2: the other officers know. There's one report that they heard
- 18:19Speaker 2: him yell at, which means they saw the gun. But
- 18:21Speaker 2: that doesn't mean the guy fired the gun. But if
- 18:24Speaker 2: he does have a gun and it looked like he
- 18:26Speaker 2: was reaching for it, that would justify butt. But that's
- 18:29Speaker 2: all a lot of ifs, and it's all got to
- 18:31Speaker 2: be investigated. You know. The thing about the president having
- 18:34Speaker 2: is a finger on the pulse. That's a tough thing
- 18:36Speaker 2: for a president. It's very, very tough. You're locked up
- 18:40Speaker 2: in that White House all day. You know, you can
- 18:44Speaker 2: call people and talk to them, you can watch TV
- 18:48Speaker 2: all day, but it's different from actually being out there.
- 18:51Speaker 5: You know.
- 18:51Speaker 2: I know Donald Trump in the Trump Tower days when
- 18:54Speaker 2: his office was there, every so often would go down
- 18:57Speaker 2: to the lobby where there were millions of tourists walking
- 18:59Speaker 2: around and talk to them. Many times during the day,
- 19:02Speaker 2: you know, the car would bring him, but he before
- 19:04Speaker 2: he went in the building, he'd walk around the street
- 19:05Speaker 2: a little, talk to people, get a feel for things.
- 19:08Speaker 2: You can't do that when you're president. It's very, very tough.
- 19:12Speaker 2: I remember Bill Clinton once in the White House there's
- 19:14Speaker 2: one window where you can see the sidewalk and he's
- 19:17Speaker 2: staring at all the people on the sidewalk in Washington,
- 19:21Speaker 2: d C. And they said, what are you looking at?
- 19:24Speaker 2: He says, I admire those people they're out there. I'm
- 19:28Speaker 2: stuck in here. I'm trapped in here. And he's trapped.
- 19:31Speaker 2: It's the White House. And he said, it's just the
- 19:33Speaker 2: most luxurious prison in the federal prison system. And he again, Clinton,
- 19:37Speaker 2: a people person, loved to be out there talking to people,
- 19:40Speaker 2: shaking hands, but there he was trapped in the White House.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Very tough. Now the president today goes to Iowa to
- 19:47Speaker 2: make a speech. This is important because that's what you
- 19:51Speaker 2: do for a president needs contact. You send him out
- 19:53Speaker 2: to do speeches once a week. And he apparently he's
- 19:55Speaker 2: going to do this once a week, go out somewhere,
- 19:58Speaker 2: go to a state, meet people talking, and he does
- 20:00Speaker 2: these rallies. You get to talk to a lot of
- 20:01Speaker 2: people along the way. So that'll be good. That'll happen today.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Let's go to Mike and Beth Page. Mike, how you
- 20:07Speaker 2: doing good? Mark? How are you good?
- 20:12Speaker 8: I just want to say, I think the thing about
- 20:15Speaker 8: President Trump, I think he's playing chess and the rest
- 20:18Speaker 8: of the world is playing checkers. He's so far ahead
- 20:21Speaker 8: of everybody else. They don't know what's going on.
- 20:23Speaker 2: He's like, don't don't count on that. Those Chinese communists
- 20:28Speaker 2: plot like one hundred years out, the Soros and now
- 20:31Speaker 2: the new one Neville Roy Singman, they plot like ten
- 20:34Speaker 2: years ago. They're pretty good chess players too, Okay, Okay,
- 20:37Speaker 2: then I don't mean these democrats on the ground. Those
- 20:39Speaker 2: are just the pieces on the board for these No.
- 20:41Speaker 8: No, Trump is playing chess and the rest of America
- 20:43Speaker 8: is playing checkers. Let me put it that way. Then
- 20:46Speaker 8: a lot of people here don't know what he's doing.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Don't count on that. Don't count on that, you know,
- 20:51Speaker 2: look back carefully cross him. Oh no, No, he's a
- 20:54Speaker 2: great he's a four D chess player. But don't diminish
- 20:59Speaker 2: the capacity of those democrats. Remember turning down the ten
- 21:01Speaker 2: thousand troops on January sixth, Look what it led to.
- 21:04Speaker 2: They may have plotted that all out in their head. Hey,
- 21:07Speaker 2: you're in beth Page. What's the situation.
- 21:09Speaker 8: The street's clear, it's cold and very snowy.
- 21:14Speaker 2: I know, but is it traffic moving and the streets
- 21:17Speaker 2: are clear?
- 21:17Speaker 6: Now? Yeah?
- 21:18Speaker 8: I was on the Southern stet this morning. I drive
- 21:20Speaker 8: a school bus. I was on the Southern State a
- 21:21Speaker 8: little bit. It wasn't too bad. Heading west exit seventeen,
- 21:26Speaker 8: it was pretty good. In the town of West, Hemp said.
- 21:28Speaker 8: Some of the streets are a little closed up, but
- 21:30Speaker 8: it's tough getting around.
- 21:31Speaker 2: But it's sweater all right. Well, that's good to hear.
- 21:35Speaker 2: In Manhattan, you can see the pavement everywhere, streets totally clear.
- 21:40Speaker 2: There's traffic, not not up to full blast, but there's
- 21:43Speaker 2: a lot more traffic than yesterday. The only problem is,
- 21:45Speaker 2: you know, when they shovel the streets, they pile the
- 21:47Speaker 2: snow banks on the side of between the sidewalk and
- 21:50Speaker 2: the street. So a lot of times the bus pulls up,
- 21:53Speaker 2: people want to get in the bus, but there's like
- 21:55Speaker 2: a four foot snow bank they have to climb over.
- 21:57Speaker 2: You have to look for like a little opening in
- 22:00Speaker 2: those snow banks every so often. Hey, and when we
- 22:03Speaker 2: come back, John Carney, brilliant guy, Breitbart. You know, Breitbart
- 22:08Speaker 2: News is a great website, but one of the probably
- 22:11Speaker 2: the best business website now is Breitbart Business Digest. And
- 22:14Speaker 2: John Carney edits that and writes that we'll talk to
- 22:18Speaker 2: him about Minnesota. We'll talk to him about these crazy
- 22:20Speaker 2: corporate leaders in Minnesota getting too involved in all this anyway.
- 22:23Speaker 2: We'll get to that and more coming up next on
- 22:26Speaker 2: seven to ten wo R. Let's get the latest news.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Here's Jacqueline carl Hey Mark.
- 22:30Speaker 9: A meeting is expected to be held today between President
- 22:33Speaker 9: Trump's Borders are Tom Homan and Minneapolis mayor and Jacob Fry.
- 22:37Speaker 9: This comes as tensions in Minnesota continue to run high
- 22:40Speaker 9: following the fatal shooting of thirty seven year old Alex
- 22:43Speaker 9: Preddy by federal immigration agent. Homan is taking over as
- 22:47Speaker 9: Trump's point person in Minnesota, as top border patrol official
- 22:51Speaker 9: Greg Bavino is returning to his old position in California,
- 22:55Speaker 9: and New York City public schools are reopening today for
- 22:57Speaker 9: in person learning.
- 22:58Speaker 10: That follows one day pivot to remote instruction following the
- 23:02Speaker 10: massive snowstorm. Mayor's are On Mom Donnie says all programs
- 23:06Speaker 10: and activities will resume as scheduled. He also says remote
- 23:10Speaker 10: learning was successful, noting that preliminary data shows nearly eighty
- 23:14Speaker 10: percent of students successfully logged into virtual classrooms on Monday.
- 23:19Speaker 10: Sarah Lee Kessler War.
- 23:21Speaker 9: News Support is sponsored by Lows The.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Mark Simon Show on wor.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Well, We'd like to bring in the smartest people around.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Now the Breitbart Business Digest that is must read every day.
- 23:36Speaker 2: All the top economists, business people all read it religiously
- 23:39Speaker 2: every day. Breke Bart Business Digest. Sign up for it.
- 23:43Speaker 2: You can get the daily newsletter coming write to you
- 23:46Speaker 2: Breitbart dot com and then go to Breitbart Business Digest.
- 23:50Speaker 2: The guy that edits it and writes all this brilliant
- 23:52Speaker 2: stuff is with us, John Carney, How you doing very good?
- 23:56Speaker 1: Mark, trying to stay warm and out of the snow.
- 24:00Speaker 2: Well, that's good, It's not easy nowadays. Hey, let's talk
- 24:03Speaker 2: about Minnesota. Now, you got silly governor and mayor, but
- 24:07Speaker 2: you got major corporations in Minnesota, Minneapolis, where are they
- 24:11Speaker 2: in all of this?
- 24:13Speaker 1: So what it's very interesting A bunch of them sent
- 24:17Speaker 1: a letter calling for de escalation. And one of the
- 24:23Speaker 1: things that they didn't do though, is really it's specify
- 24:27Speaker 1: what they meant by this. It seems like they're calling
- 24:30Speaker 1: on the Trump administration to back down, but that would
- 24:34Speaker 1: be a disaster. The fastest way to de escalate what's
- 24:38Speaker 1: happening would be for Walls, the governor, Ellison, the Attorney
- 24:44Speaker 1: general to actually stop doing what they've been doing, which
- 24:48Speaker 1: is resisting federal law enforcement and start cooperating with it.
- 24:54Speaker 1: And I think, really that's what the businesses in Minnesota
- 24:58Speaker 1: should actually start calling, and businesses around the country should
- 25:02Speaker 1: start calling on the political leadership to begin to cooperate
- 25:07Speaker 1: and stop resisting. The only way to de escalate this
- 25:11Speaker 1: really is for this to do what's going on in
- 25:14Speaker 1: most of the country. Mark most of the country isn't
- 25:17Speaker 1: having the problems we're seeing in Minneapolis and Minnesota because
- 25:23Speaker 1: ICE doesn't have to do it alone. It's not the
- 25:26Speaker 1: it's not border patrol, it's not ICE, it's not DHS.
- 25:30Speaker 1: In most of the country, local law enforcement is cooperating
- 25:34Speaker 1: with federal immigration enforcement. It's in Minnesota that we're having
- 25:38Speaker 1: the problem.
- 25:39Speaker 2: So could this have an effect on Minnesota for the
- 25:41Speaker 2: next few years and maybe business is not opening there
- 25:43Speaker 2: and not moving there.
- 25:45Speaker 1: It could I actually think, Look, we know that when
- 25:49Speaker 1: businesses don't like a state policy. We saw this in
- 25:55Speaker 1: some pretty horrible ways a few years ago. When businesses
- 26:00Speaker 1: don't like the way a state government is operating, they
- 26:04Speaker 1: can opt to not do business there, to threaten more
- 26:08Speaker 1: or less to boycott the state. We North Carolina faced
- 26:12Speaker 1: that a few years ago when it had a policy dispute.
- 26:15Speaker 1: I think Tim Cook's Apple was going to pull out,
- 26:19Speaker 1: you can. You know, we've seen things like sports leagues
- 26:22Speaker 1: threatened and threatened to leave. Some of these businesses obviously
- 26:26Speaker 1: can't leave Minnesota because that's where they're based, but they
- 26:29Speaker 1: can send a message, a powerful one and saying, look,
- 26:32Speaker 1: this is making business impossible in the state and you
- 26:35Speaker 1: need to do something to fix it.
- 26:37Speaker 2: Yeah, well, let's hope they do that. Now, the Fed,
- 26:44Speaker 2: we don't know what's going to happen tomorrow as far
- 26:45Speaker 2: as the rate, but what do you think?
- 26:49Speaker 1: So, yeah, Tomorrow's Fed will be interesting. They're not going
- 26:53Speaker 1: to do anything in terms of interest rates. But what
- 26:56Speaker 1: we will watch for is what they say will they
- 27:00Speaker 1: will do in the future sort of what the path
- 27:03Speaker 1: for interest rates are. I'm not sure it matters all
- 27:07Speaker 1: that much because this is Jerome Powell's third to last
- 27:12Speaker 1: meeting as chairman, and I think the market is going
- 27:16Speaker 1: to say if we really won't know how the Fed's
- 27:20Speaker 1: probably not going to cut again. While Powell is chairman,
- 27:23Speaker 1: he is in a fight with Trump. He knows Trump
- 27:25Speaker 1: wants to cut the interest rate, and he's probably you know, frankly,
- 27:30Speaker 1: it's super irresponsible. But I think he's Jerome Powell's in
- 27:34Speaker 1: resistance mode and is not going to cut as long
- 27:37Speaker 1: as he's there, right, So, but we will look for
- 27:41Speaker 1: signals for what other people on the FED might be thinking.
- 27:45Speaker 1: It's Jerome Pell's he'll hold a press conference, but he
- 27:48Speaker 1: may also talk about what the committee is thinking, and
- 27:52Speaker 1: that is what people will want to know. Where are
- 27:54Speaker 1: rates going?
- 27:55Speaker 2: You know?
- 27:56Speaker 3: Not?
- 27:56Speaker 1: So Powell is there in this meeting, two more meetings
- 27:59Speaker 1: out after that. But what happens this summer and this
- 28:03Speaker 1: fall and this winter.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Boy, this guy Powell, he is so bad as fetchim
- 28:07Speaker 2: Remind me again, how did we get stuck with this guy?
- 28:10Speaker 2: It was trump to pick?
- 28:11Speaker 1: I mean yeah, he was Trump's pick. There were better picks.
- 28:16Speaker 1: Trump listened to the guy who was his Treasury secretary
- 28:20Speaker 1: at the time, Steve Maninchen, who frankly gave him bad advice.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Powell was a Republican, but he had been at the
- 28:28Speaker 1: FED for quite a while already. And it was between
- 28:33Speaker 1: Powell and a couple other people. Trump had meetings with
- 28:35Speaker 1: all of them, and Palell sweet talked Trump into believing
- 28:40Speaker 1: that he would be good. It's been a disaster and
- 28:43Speaker 1: it's not just the monetary policy. If you look at
- 28:46Speaker 1: the number of FED officials who have had to resign
- 28:49Speaker 1: under scandals because they violated ethics and trading rules at
- 28:53Speaker 1: the FED, or some of them may not have violated
- 28:57Speaker 1: the rules but came close enough that it became a
- 28:59Speaker 1: big deal and they were forced to resign. We haven't
- 29:03Speaker 1: really seen such a scandal ridden Federal Reserve in its
- 29:09Speaker 1: entire history. So Pale's been a bad job. He's run
- 29:12Speaker 1: a dirty shop. He should step down. Frankly, it would
- 29:16Speaker 1: be great if he would announce tomorrow's stepping down, but
- 29:19Speaker 1: that's not in the cards.
- 29:21Speaker 2: He's like the Fauci of the economy. Kind of.
- 29:25Speaker 1: That's perfect. He is the Fauci of the economy. The
- 29:29Speaker 1: good news is Trump is going to get to name
- 29:32Speaker 1: a replacement. He may do it this week. In fact,
- 29:36Speaker 1: they've indicated that that Trump's announcement's going to come out.
- 29:41Speaker 1: If I were Trump, I do it tomorrow during Pal's
- 29:46Speaker 1: now step bottom the guys, you know, press conference and
- 29:49Speaker 1: say I'm that's it. Don't pay attention, I'm announcing the
- 29:52Speaker 1: new guy.
- 29:54Speaker 2: Well, it's always been down to these two. Kevin's Kevin
- 29:56Speaker 2: Hasset Kevin Walsh, who everybody likes. But there's a third
- 29:59Speaker 2: guy that all of so popped up in the mix here.
- 30:01Speaker 2: What's his name Reiner or whatever his name is.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Look, yes, Rick Reiner, who is a Wall Street guy.
- 30:08Speaker 1: He's is smart, he knows markets very well. He isn't
- 30:14Speaker 1: at the Fed and hasn't ever been that that I think,
- 30:17Speaker 1: from Trump's point of view, is a plus. It's a
- 30:20Speaker 1: little weird to consider him an outsider because he is
- 30:23Speaker 1: a deep Wall Street insider in many ways. He also
- 30:28Speaker 1: has a history of donating to some fairly left wing Democrats,
- 30:34Speaker 1: Sharon Brown of the Where that I think may trouble
- 30:40Speaker 1: some of the you know, the the Trump administration. They
- 30:43Speaker 1: may wonder is this really the right guy? But frankly, look,
- 30:47Speaker 1: how was a Republican. He looked good on paper. So
- 30:50Speaker 1: I'm not upset if they're if they're thinking a little
- 30:53Speaker 1: bit more broadly about who.
- 30:54Speaker 2: To a point, yeah, but this guy sounds like another
- 30:56Speaker 2: Powell with those left wing crazy donations back then another
- 31:00Speaker 2: in sheep's clothing. I hope President Trump learned this lesson,
- 31:03Speaker 2: go with the safer choice.
- 31:06Speaker 1: I think.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:07Speaker 1: I also hope Trump they should really be questioning him
- 31:12Speaker 1: very closely in a different way that they than they
- 31:14Speaker 1: would question, say Kevin Hassett. We know where Kevin Hasset stands.
- 31:18Speaker 1: We really need to know more about how Rick Writers
- 31:21Speaker 1: is of the world and monetary policy. I think that,
- 31:27Speaker 1: you know, I'm pretty confident, look Secretary Treasury. Treasury Secretary
- 31:32Speaker 1: Best is running the vetting process, and I'm very confident
- 31:38Speaker 1: that he is asking all of the right questions and
- 31:43Speaker 1: so you know, if he's giving the right answers, that's good.
- 31:46Speaker 1: But then again, as I said earlier, Powell seemed to
- 31:50Speaker 1: give the right answers and it didn't work. So you
- 31:53Speaker 1: have to you know, these guys will say anything to
- 31:56Speaker 1: get you know, it's the most powerful it's one of
- 31:57Speaker 1: its arguably the most power position in finance in the world,
- 32:02Speaker 1: and one of the most powerful positions anywhere, you know,
- 32:05Speaker 1: second to the US President, but not that far in
- 32:09Speaker 1: many ways. I really hope that, you know, people will
- 32:12Speaker 1: say anything to get the job. So I hope they're
- 32:14Speaker 1: being very very careful about disappointment.
- 32:17Speaker 2: Hey John corneye Breitbart Business Digest. One more question, if
- 32:21Speaker 2: you watch your CNN or MS now, we're in a
- 32:23Speaker 2: terrible economic crisis. Affordability crisis. The economy is in real trouble.
- 32:28Speaker 2: You're the expert. What is the truth?
- 32:30Speaker 1: Yeah, that's not true. The economy is actually doing very well.
- 32:34Speaker 1: There are some spots of weakness. The housing market is
- 32:37Speaker 1: still weak and that's a problem. But I think the
- 32:40Speaker 1: economy will do very well this year. We're actually set
- 32:44Speaker 1: up because we're getting so many things coming online all
- 32:47Speaker 1: at once. We'll get tax cuts later or sorry, we'll
- 32:50Speaker 1: get rate cuts later this year. Once Powell is gone.
- 32:53Speaker 1: The tax cuts are coming into play. This is remember,
- 32:56Speaker 1: no tax on tips, no tax on overtime. The bonus
- 33:00Speaker 1: to appreciation that's business is right off. Capital expenditures is
- 33:03Speaker 1: in place already. This is going to be a lot
- 33:06Speaker 1: of tailwinds to the economy going in as we begin
- 33:09Speaker 1: in twenty twenty six, I think we're set up for
- 33:11Speaker 1: a pretty strong year. Wall Street thinks we're going to
- 33:14Speaker 1: grow two point one percent. I think we're growing north
- 33:17Speaker 1: of three percent. So, you know, the people who are
- 33:20Speaker 1: trying to end inflation keeps coming down. So I am not.
- 33:25Speaker 1: I'm not on the side that's very worried about the economy.
- 33:28Speaker 1: I think we could use a couple more interest rate
- 33:30Speaker 1: cuts the FED could derail things if they didn't cut,
- 33:33Speaker 1: but I'm confident they will later this year.
- 33:36Speaker 2: Well, great stuff. Everybody should sign up for the bright
- 33:38Speaker 2: Bart Business Digest. Go to bright Bart Business Dies, sign
- 33:41Speaker 2: up for the daily newsletter. It's great stuff. And John
- 33:45Speaker 2: Corney also see them all over television. He is great,
- 33:48Speaker 2: John Carney, thanks for being with us.
- 33:50Speaker 1: Yeah, thanks for having me.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Mark, take care. Hey, don't forget Coming up at noon today,
- 33:56Speaker 2: Buck Sexton, Klay Travis, excellent show. Jim Me falat nine
- 34:01Speaker 2: o'clock tonight. You'll love that show, very funny. Oh and
- 34:03Speaker 2: of course Sean Hannity at three o'clock, the most listened
- 34:06Speaker 2: to radio show on Earth. Hey, when we come back
- 34:10Speaker 2: after the news at eleven, Bill O'Reilly will be here.
- 34:13Speaker 2: You know, announcty's taking a little leave for medical reasons,
- 34:16Speaker 2: but apparently he's gotten through it. He'll be with us
- 34:19Speaker 2: right after the eleven o'clock news. We'll ask him about that.
- 34:22Speaker 2: Coming up on seven to ten WR, here's more Marks
- 34:26Speaker 2: alone on seven to ten WR. Well, things are getting
- 34:33Speaker 2: back to normal very slowly. Here. The streets are a
- 34:36Speaker 2: little better today. There's a little more traffic. If you're
- 34:40Speaker 2: coming into the city. The trains are still on a
- 34:43Speaker 2: limited schedule, and in this delays of all kinds of
- 34:47Speaker 2: at the airport, trains, buses, all of that stuff. The
- 34:51Speaker 2: problem is, usually after a big snowstorm, in almost every case,
- 34:54Speaker 2: it then warms up and melts the snow. It gets
- 34:57Speaker 2: over freezing over thirty two. But this is one of
- 35:00Speaker 2: the rare instances where we have the snowstorm and then
- 35:03Speaker 2: it stays in the twenties for the rest of the week.
- 35:06Speaker 2: So there's no way to melt this snow, and it
- 35:10Speaker 2: looks like it's going to stay that way through the weekend.
- 35:12Speaker 2: And the only problem on the horizon is it looks
- 35:15Speaker 2: like there's another snowstorm Sunday. Now it's way too early
- 35:19Speaker 2: to say how bad it'll be. It could be two inches,
- 35:22Speaker 2: it could be ten inches. We don't know, but there's
- 35:23Speaker 2: something that's possible on Sunday. But we'll see again, way
- 35:28Speaker 2: too early, way too early to know. Hey, Bill O'Reilly
- 35:31Speaker 2: announced he was taking a leave of absence medical reasons
- 35:34Speaker 2: from his broadcasting and all of that. But he's back
- 35:38Speaker 2: and he'll talk to us right after the news at
- 35:40Speaker 2: eleven o'clock. Right after the news, we'll get to Bill
- 35:42Speaker 2: O'Reilly and get an update, so don't go away back
- 35:46Speaker 2: right after the news. Mark Simone here on seven to
- 35:48Speaker 2: ten WR
