- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Welcome to Becoming Saians, a Dragon Ball Rewatch podcast.
- 0:06SPEAKER_02: And we're back.
- 0:07SPEAKER_02: I'm Trivin.
- 0:08SPEAKER_02: And I'm Jesse.
- 0:09SPEAKER_02: And this is Becoming Saiyan's a Dragon Ball Rewatch Podcast.
- 0:12SPEAKER_02: On today's episodes, we watched episode 125 and 126 titled The Earth's Guardian Emerges and The Eternal Dragon Resurrected.
- 0:24SPEAKER_02: Uh Earth's Guardian Emerges came out in Japan on August 31st, 1988, and in America on October 9th, 2003.
- 0:33SPEAKER_02: Whereas The Eternal Dragon Resurrected came out in September 14th, 1988, and originally in America on October 13th, 2003.
- 0:42SPEAKER_02: Speaking of which, it's only like a week off.
- 0:44SPEAKER_02: We're like three days, four days away from the the day of that one coming out.
- 0:49SPEAKER_02: But that doesn't matter for now.
- 0:50SPEAKER_02: Talking about differences in trivia, we've got from the first episode, the seat at Kamehameha with people talking about Goku and Tien training outside is exclusive to the anime.
- 1:00SPEAKER_02: Two guards confronting Piccolo in the woods is exclusive to the anime.
- 1:04SPEAKER_02: Mr.
- 1:04SPEAKER_02: Popo's demonstration about moving without making the bell is exclusive to the anime.
- 1:09SPEAKER_02: And in the anime, when Kameh is explaining who he is and his relation to Piccolo, a flashback is shown showing the events.
- 1:15SPEAKER_02: In the manga, there's no flashback.
- 1:17SPEAKER_02: Which that's the difference in styles and animations and stuff, you know.
- 1:21SPEAKER_02: You can add a flashback, you know.
- 1:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you can't demo you can't like give up page real estate to show something that menial when like in the anime you have a little bit more time, a little less like problematic doing that, you know.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: And it's weirder if you just show him talking without like slight visual representation of what's going on.
- 1:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:42SPEAKER_02: Uh trivia is at the Kameh house, Bulma and the others are talking, and Bulma says that Goku went to go meet some guardian of Earth.
- 1:49SPEAKER_02: Um, while in fact, uh he only said he's going to meet Kami.
- 1:52SPEAKER_02: And in a later episode, Master Roshi tells him that Kami is the guardian of the earth, and they freak out about it.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: Because there's the immediate next episode.
- 1:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:00SPEAKER_02: This is the first episode of the Funimation Dub where Shinron is referred to by name other than just the Eternal Dragon.
- 2:07SPEAKER_02: Um in a flashback where Goku and Krillin were training with Master Roshi, Goku has his tail, even though he didn't have his tail when training under Master Roshi, and it didn't come back until the tournament.
- 2:16SPEAKER_02: In the scene where the Park Rangers find Piccolo, it looks like Star Wars, which we clocked immediately, I think.
- 2:23SPEAKER_02: Both of us and my girlfriend all clocked it.
- 2:25SPEAKER_02: Um jumping into differences from the manga.
- 2:28SPEAKER_02: At the beginning of the episode, there's a man where Ahab and everything, exclusive to the anime.
- 2:33SPEAKER_02: Um scene of Korn Tower where Koran's calling out Yadurobi for trying to steal Sintsu beans is all added.
- 2:38SPEAKER_02: Bolma getting ready to look for a bath and looking in the panty drawer is animated exclusive.
- 2:45SPEAKER_02: All of the characters shown that are our main characters being revived is exclusive.
- 2:50SPEAKER_02: Uh and in the anime, the wish had to be stated to Shenron, whereas the manga he already knew beforehand, um, before being res or as he was resurrected, he knew what to do.
- 2:59SPEAKER_02: Um none of the victims that were killed uh during the initial rampage uh were revived, even though they were killed by Pickle though.
- 3:05SPEAKER_02: But it's later explained in the later saga that this is because when you're wishing for multiple people back from the dead, that you can only revive people that are one year or less dead.
- 3:15SPEAKER_02: Um those guys have been dead for over 300 years, it'd be kind of hard to bring them back, you know, that kind of stuff.
- 3:20SPEAKER_02: Uh Pompa is not shown being brought back despite being one of Tambourine's victims.
- 3:25SPEAKER_02: During Nan's revival in the Blue Water dub, Dabu, which is another character there, can be heard saying dad, even though he's only the younger brother.
- 3:32SPEAKER_02: And in the Blue Water dub, Bacterion's confused Groan as he's brought back as provided by Dean Galloway instead of the original performer.
- 3:39SPEAKER_02: And that's all the trivia and differences.
- 3:41SPEAKER_02: So, Jesse, previously on Dragon Ball, Goku is an annoying kid.
- 3:50SPEAKER_02: And because he's annoying, but also a pure sweet baby angel, he's able to convince Mr.
- 3:54SPEAKER_02: Popo to train him.
- 3:56SPEAKER_02: And Mr.
- 3:57SPEAKER_02: Popo does some half-riddle, you know, Mr.
- 4:00SPEAKER_02: Miyagi type training with Goku until uh the guardian of the universe named Kami says, Hey bro, I'll I'll I'll listen to you.
- 4:11SPEAKER_02: What do you gotta say?
- 4:12SPEAKER_02: And then he shows up and oh my gosh, Piccolo is back.
- 4:15SPEAKER_02: Just kidding, it is Kami.
- 4:16SPEAKER_02: But some lore drop about Kami is that Piccolo is the evil version of Kami.
- 4:22SPEAKER_02: It's all the evil and bad of a man reformed into one person.
- 4:26SPEAKER_02: And he was sent to Earth as punishment, and so basically Kami says, you know what?
- 4:31SPEAKER_02: Honestly, kind of my fault that Piccolo appeared, so I guess I'll fix this problem since you helped me fix this problem.
- 4:37SPEAKER_02: Uh you I'll send the dragon and he'll fix everything that happened.
- 4:41SPEAKER_02: Uh, but on one condition, you train for three years with me so you can kick my butt, my evil version's butt.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: She can end Piccolo once and for all.
- 4:52SPEAKER_02: And then we find the fact that And then we find out in the second episode while Goku is like off using the restroom or whatever, that like if Kami if Piccolo dies, Kami dies because they're soul linked because they're the same person.
- 5:05SPEAKER_02: Meanwhile, on the B plot, the gang the gang is hanging out at the at the uh Kami house and um which uh Kamehameha, Kami, Kame.
- 5:15SPEAKER_02: Uh just anyways, they're hanging out at the house and um they're all sad still, and Boma is like next time.
- 5:23SPEAKER_02: And then they the Dragon Balls come back to life, and they're able to wish everyone who died in the Piccolo attack back to life, including all of our favorite characters, which we will name at some point probably in the episode.
- 5:35SPEAKER_02: The ones that we remember at least.
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: And then in the C plot, baby Piccolo is in Star Wars for a little bit and takes aim at a couple of fighters, but uh actually kills a bear and then takes aim at a couple of soldiers, but then decides now you're not really worth it, they run off scared, and then he joins a fishing gang and you know, blasts you know, blasts across the universe and destroys another fishing gang, grabs a fish and is like, hey guys, I'm a part of your crew now, and they're like, that's what's up.
- 6:05SPEAKER_02: And that's what you missed on Dragon Ball.
- 6:07SPEAKER_02: Jesse, go for it.
- 6:08SPEAKER_02: But before you go for it, sorry about the bell.
- 6:10SPEAKER_02: Uh our cats in the house have now gotten callers that have bells that make noise.
- 6:15SPEAKER_02: You might hear it occasionally.
- 6:16SPEAKER_02: Now, Jesse, go for it.
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: Uh, because they're great episodes.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: They're great episodes.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: Um, I do feel I don't know if we want to mention it now or later, but we are recording this the day that uh Mike McFarlane passed away.
- 6:29SPEAKER_02: Who legendary voice actor.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: Very like just try try to name anime he probably didn't voice like an English dub for.
- 6:37SPEAKER_02: It's easier to find it it would be easier to it would be harder to find one that he didn't do than name all the ones that he didn't do.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: Just a very big pioneer in the like especially English anime dubbing community.
- 6:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah, on the ground level with um, you know, working over he was kind of a Chris Sabat type where he was kind of ground level function.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah and has been there for every He was you know a writer, director, voice actor, like he's anything you could do.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: Uh he did sadly pass away.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: I think we we brought it we had mentioned it when it was announced publicly early, like last year, I think, or this is the second, this is the second Roshi to the first time.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: Well, we'll like because he passed away due to the what he got the grandmother was diagnosed with.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: And we brought it up when we linked the the GoFundMe and everything to that.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: But today we woke up to the news that he had passed away earlier this morning.
- 7:32SPEAKER_02: A true visionary and a a major force in the fact that anime has become so popular over here.
- 7:40SPEAKER_02: Whether you like his voice, dislike his voice, know his voice, he was part of all of it that brought it all together.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: You've honestly probably heard his voice without realizing that it's him.
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: Because, like, you know, maybe you don't know voice actors that well, or you're just not getting an anime.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: You've probably already heard him and you just don't know that.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: Obviously, for us, he voiced both uh both obviously Roshi and a new character we've been introduced to recently, uh, in Yajarobi.
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: Uh which that was one I think either of us kind of knew off the top of our heads that he didn't know that.
- 8:14SPEAKER_02: He also voiced my favorite character from the anime I we just finished called Attack on the Titan, uh named Jean.
- 8:21SPEAKER_02: Jean is my favorite character from that show, hands down.
- 8:25SPEAKER_02: Love the dude.
- 8:26SPEAKER_02: He's amazing.
- 8:27SPEAKER_02: Um, and I know it's it when they sh when they share the post about the person passing away, and then you see all of the famous roles.
- 8:36SPEAKER_02: Like they that's every person you've ever seen that passed away that was an actor, gets all of their famous roles brought up.
- 8:42SPEAKER_02: Uh he is he's one that the Rolladex of famous roles he was in basically every anime for a certain period of time.
- 8:51SPEAKER_02: Basically for all of time, because he was even on like my hero and stuff.
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: That like you could probably make you know eight to ten graphics of just e like even fringe iconic characters he had voiced in other like countless animes.
- 9:06SPEAKER_02: So he was in basically every anime.
- 9:10SPEAKER_02: Like from what I was seeing, basically every anime that since like Funimation started like releasing dubs.
- 9:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 9:16SPEAKER_00: Like from the founding of Funimation, he was there.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: But it it is sad, and you know, our cardols just go out to all of his level ends and everything.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:24SPEAKER_02: Um he was you know, he's a big force in this podcast.
- 9:27SPEAKER_02: The fact that like we were able to point to like him, you know, and it's kind of bittersweet because in this episode, Roshi comes back, but in real life, Roshi just died.
- 9:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and it just and for the second time this year, Roshi's died because we had another Roshi character before.
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: Who is probably one of the lesser known dubs, especially in modern times.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: So I think all access to dubs will you get the fun most of the Funimation dubs.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: 90% of the time you're gonna be able to do that.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: Because of the merger between them and Crunchyroll.
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: So if you're watching if you're watching legally, you're probably gonna find the Funimation dubs.
- 10:05SPEAKER_02: The only the only way I think you find the other one is if you get the like if you're watching the movies.
- 10:10SPEAKER_02: But even then the movies replace so many different voice actors from the show that it's like you're not really you could get the blue ocean dub, but it's not even gonna be the same, you know.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: But it it's it's so sad to see, but it's bittersweet again as you bring it up, like, yeah, Roshi does come back in these episodes, which is exciting, and everyone comes back to life.
- 10:31SPEAKER_00: If only there were Dragon Balls.
- 10:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we could try to bring a few people back.
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: Because what I could tell, he's relatively pretty young, too.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he just got he got a terminal illness and got really he got a really aggressive uh brain cancer.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: And it's like you know, you hope you can do it, but his legacy will live on.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: Long, long past today.
- 10:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 10:54SPEAKER_02: It's you know, and it's just a bad year for losing pay people who were mainstays in culture and in their in their thing, you know, in their group scene.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: It's been a bad couple for like pull the curtain back.
- 11:08SPEAKER_00: We're recording this the week after Dolly and Tim and them.
- 11:13SPEAKER_02: And Peter Cole and another iconic voice.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: An iconic voice in the a a different style to Mike McFarland where it wasn't the sheer amount of characters he voiced, it was the sheer, but it was the sheer power and his voice and the characters he voiced.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: It it was mainly his most iconic for Eeyore and Optimus Prime.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: Optimus Prime being the biggest one you saw on online.
- 11:38SPEAKER_02: And another thing that was really rough about him coming about him passing away is that earlier that morning before the news came out about Peter Collins' passing, they announced like the 40th anniversary of the Transformers movie, where it's like he died for all of our like basically they'd like Jesus Sophia Optimus Prime about because like spoiler alert for a 40-year-old movie, but Optimus Prime dies at the end of that movie.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: You know what something ironic about like when he dies, what Optimus Prime dies in the movie, it matched the the time frame of the movie and stuff, matches up perfectly to the date that Peter passed away.
- 12:14SPEAKER_02: Man, it's just universe parallels just yeah, universe is weird like that sometimes.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's crazy, but enough you know, sad grief strickenness.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: Let's get into these pretty exciting episodes, very, very lore heavy.
- 12:28SPEAKER_02: Thank you for setting through the sad parts.
- 12:29SPEAKER_02: Now we'll get into what we want what you all are here for.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: The meeting, everyone prayers go to everybody who has lost a loved one recently.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: Whether it's in the news or if it's just an obituary in your local hometown.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: Uh Prayerscope 2.
- 12:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:43SPEAKER_02: Well, um, first things first is I these episodes are really good.
- 12:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's there's not a lot of fat to be trimmed.
- 12:51SPEAKER_02: They this is a pretty lean, these are pretty two, they're not filled to the brim with stuff, but they're very lean, but they get to the point.
- 12:58SPEAKER_02: I I can we can talk for a while about the little because there's there's a lot of little things dropped in these ones.
- 13:05SPEAKER_00: And even like the stuff that's unique to the anime, it's stuff that makes sense or just builds on it.
- 13:10SPEAKER_00: Or, you know, we don't want we don't want to leave people junior buy it like alone.
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: We want to keep giving you glimpses like hey, he's still here, he's he's doing stuff, he's messing with people's lives in weird ways.
- 13:22SPEAKER_02: He is going on his own like version of a of a world world to world tour training arc, yeah.
- 13:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah, of like a Goku going across the world, but like it what if Goku was evil?
- 13:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:34SPEAKER_02: Straight up.
- 13:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:35SPEAKER_02: Um immediately first episode, it they drop the philosophy of Goku immediately.
- 13:42SPEAKER_02: Mr.
- 13:42SPEAKER_02: Popo gives him his philosophy.
- 13:44SPEAKER_02: It's like, oh, you thought you were strong.
- 13:47SPEAKER_02: Because as you beat up Piccolo, you assumed you were just the strongest there was.
- 13:52SPEAKER_02: Let this be a lesson.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: There will always be something strong.
- 13:55SPEAKER_02: There's always a bigger fish.
- 13:56SPEAKER_02: As Kargon Jin says.
- 13:58SPEAKER_02: And Goku takes that immediately to heart.
- 14:00SPEAKER_02: He's like, okay, so you must be the strongest.
- 14:03SPEAKER_02: And then, oh, well, no, there's Kami's even stronger than you.
- 14:06SPEAKER_02: He must be the strongest.
- 14:07SPEAKER_02: And then even Kami's like, nah, I'm not even the strongest.
- 14:12SPEAKER_00: I'm the strongest, like, on the planet, probably, presumably at this moment.
- 14:16SPEAKER_02: But I just think Piccolo Jr.
- 14:19SPEAKER_02: is coming.
- 14:20SPEAKER_02: Like, we know he's gonna be you're out, he's gonna be a problem for you.
- 14:23SPEAKER_02: You if by training here nonstop for three years, you might be able to beat him, is what they said.
- 14:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, with the rematch and the what's obviously setting up a rematch in the tournament saga.
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the the tournament of the tournament.
- 14:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I was gonna say this is I can go ahead, there's no spoilers here.
- 14:38SPEAKER_02: The final, the the it's the final tournament of the original show.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: Final tournament, final episode, final fight.
- 14:45SPEAKER_02: Um, maybe.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: Well, maybe not final episode, but like I assume they're gonna meet in the championship.
- 14:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they're gonna meet in the championship of the final tournament.
- 14:52SPEAKER_02: And so with with that, like, Kame or Kami is like, I'm training you for that because first of all, I'm old, I ain't gonna be able to be Guardian for a while for long, you know, forever.
- 15:05SPEAKER_00: And also Sneaky Reason that Goku doesn't know yet.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so if once you kill him, I'm dead too.
- 15:10SPEAKER_00: So yeah.
- 15:11SPEAKER_02: He's like, I don't wanna live if that if I die, like go ahead and kill me, because then he'll die.
- 15:17SPEAKER_02: You know, that's almost like I'd rather you just like sword me so he doesn't make it, you know.
- 15:22SPEAKER_02: Um but yeah, there's a lot, like, you know, Goku's whole philosophy moving forward is I might be strong, but I can't stop because the next person is stronger, you know.
- 15:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 15:36SPEAKER_02: I might be strongist, but there's all but there is somebody strong.
- 15:39SPEAKER_00: Which we discussed, we discussed in the Superman thing, is like he's built to get over he's built to get over the next person's power level.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: And it's like again, the classic argument of, well, Superman doesn't really have like a you know finite power level to get over.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: So you're always striving to get over him, but you can't ever do it because he's not he's unlimited.
- 15:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and that that is the whole thing, is that like, you know, this is this literally just if you didn't know it before, you didn't have it beat over your head by us already throughout this podcast.
- 16:08SPEAKER_02: Goku's whole thing is he is going to find him he's gonna run into a wall and he's gonna punch that wall until he breaks through, and then he's gonna go to the next wall and punch it until he breaks through.
- 16:19SPEAKER_02: That's all, like, it you can break down basically the rest of the show and the rest of history of Dragon Ball down to Goku finds somebody who is very strong.
- 16:29SPEAKER_02: Goku has to uh find a new go dig a little bit deeper and beat that person, but oh wait, that person has another person who's even stronger.
- 16:39SPEAKER_02: So then he has to dig even deeper so he can beat the next one.
- 16:42SPEAKER_02: That is literally everything Goku goes through from here on out.
- 16:47SPEAKER_02: It starting here.
- 16:48SPEAKER_02: Even I mean, it started before this, but from here forward it is find a strong guy, break through the wall, find a strong guy.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: It slaps you in the face in this episode of like, hey, this is the philosophy you need to have.
- 17:02SPEAKER_02: Spoiler alert, this is the rest of the show for you.
- 17:05SPEAKER_02: Goku is gonna get stronger, but never be strongest.
- 17:09SPEAKER_02: He will continue to get stronger until there is no one left to get strong.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: It's what makes arguments about could Goku beat this person like in other anime shows.
- 17:19SPEAKER_00: Like, well, it do they have like a limit to their power?
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: And if the answer is yes, Goku can beat them.
- 17:26SPEAKER_00: He might not be able to beat them right now, but a Goku can beat him.
- 17:29SPEAKER_02: Goku will show up and get his butt kicked.
- 17:32SPEAKER_02: Does character not have to find a yeah, Goku will show up, get his butt kicked, and then we'll go find somebody who is strong enough to like train him to be able to beat that person.
- 17:42SPEAKER_02: And then like that is basically the whole philosophy, and that is it's just they they full-on, if you hadn't seen it before, they are going to go out of their way to say, this is it.
- 17:55SPEAKER_02: But since we're speaking about Kami right now, Jesse, would you like to tell people what's behind me on the wall?
- 18:02SPEAKER_02: We have a new pop figure.
- 18:04SPEAKER_00: It's Kami.
- 18:07SPEAKER_02: It's it's pick a comm pick a the Kami.
- 18:11SPEAKER_02: We were able to move Yam Chunpuar to the top three spots via Jesse's request.
- 18:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I uh I figured it'd be nice to put like the three original amigos in the tournament sagas.
- 18:22SPEAKER_02: Who would be Unfortunately, Jesse didn't think Jackie deserved to be moved up higher.
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well I would I would rather like an actual full Roshi, but the only Roshi we have is the Kame House Roshi and the other.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: What are you talking about?
- 18:32SPEAKER_02: Jackie's not Jackie's a whole different character.
- 18:34SPEAKER_02: Jackie is Roshi's cousin.
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: I just like a full different like a f I would want like a Roshi if I was gonna put a if I was gonna put like someone in between Goku and Krillin that's not Yamcha, I would want a Roshi by himself figurine.
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 18:47SPEAKER_00: But the only figurine we have for Roshi is the Kame House.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: And I would just take out the entire top row.
- 18:52SPEAKER_02: I will say they make other Roshis, but this is the only Roshi that they can give up anything else that goes on later on.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: So I was like, This isn't the later later in the uh the story Roshi.
- 19:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but also it does give us turtle and Kame House, so that really makes me happy.
- 19:09SPEAKER_02: Um but I love seeing that, like, you know, then you get to see like Ulong is like, oh, you know, like we'll never get to meet the Guardian, which is funny, knowing, you know, ha what we talked about during the last episode.
- 19:23SPEAKER_02: That first time going to a place, really difficult.
- 19:27SPEAKER_02: After that, everyone just starts popping up.
- 19:29SPEAKER_02: It wouldn't surprise me if next episode Bullman and the gang just fly up there and they're like, hey guys, we came to how are you guys doing?
- 19:36SPEAKER_02: Hey, yeah.
- 19:38SPEAKER_02: Oh, you're at the top of the universe?
- 19:40SPEAKER_02: Let me come up there and help you.
- 19:41SPEAKER_02: And so uh it wouldn't surprise me, wouldn't surprise me in the least if that's what happens next, is just that.
- 19:48SPEAKER_02: And so um, then the next thing that we have is um just more training.
- 19:53SPEAKER_02: You got Goku being like, I'm gonna go through a training arc.
- 19:56SPEAKER_02: You got Tien being like, I saw how strong that Goku got, I'm gonna have to train even stronger to catch up with him, slash surpass him.
- 20:03SPEAKER_02: And you got Mr.
- 20:04SPEAKER_02: Probo being like, great, Goku's gonna be here for a really long time.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: Oh, I'm so happy Goku's committed to being up here.
- 20:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Goku's like, I'll just train here until I'm strong enough to catch you.
- 20:13SPEAKER_03: And he's like, hmm.
- 20:15SPEAKER_02: Oh man.
- 20:16SPEAKER_02: Like the normally cheerful and uh Peppy, hey, Goku, you're so nice.
- 20:22SPEAKER_02: Is like, huh, okay.
- 20:27SPEAKER_02: That might as well just be him swearing like that's like as negative views you see Mr.
- 20:32SPEAKER_02: Popo get.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: It's like bleep, bleep, bleep, bleep, bleep, bleep.
- 20:35SPEAKER_02: But instead he goes, hmm.
- 20:40SPEAKER_02: But we already brought it up in the recap, but the C plot of this this episode is um the Piccolo stuff.
- 20:48SPEAKER_02: And it is straight up, they show two guys on speeders, f nameless goons fly wearing like soldier outfits or police outfits, through a forest that's all big trees, flying, but you see it from first person point of view, it is straight up just Return to the Jedi.
- 21:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 21:05SPEAKER_02: Um just flying through this, it is one.
- 21:08SPEAKER_02: It's like it almost can be one to one.
- 21:10SPEAKER_02: We would have to re-watch Star Wars and overlay them together, but it is dang near one-to-one.
- 21:15SPEAKER_02: It's close.
- 21:17SPEAKER_02: And even Tied and even more, the first thing they see is a bear.
- 21:22SPEAKER_02: Just like the Ewoks, except for this bear is huge, so it's like a mega ewok.
- 21:27SPEAKER_02: Um, and then you have Piccolo Jr.
- 21:30SPEAKER_02: who has presumably killed the bear, and then he's like, they're like, Where's your where's your dad?
- 21:36SPEAKER_02: Or where's your parents, guy?
- 21:37SPEAKER_02: Like, what's up?
- 21:38SPEAKER_02: Can we help you?
- 21:38SPEAKER_01: And he's like, Ur, my dad is Piccolo, and he's the only parent I need, and he gave me everything, and I will get my revenge.
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: And like the one tries to shoot him, he stops the bullets and drops them to the ground, and Yeah, and they all run away.
- 21:55SPEAKER_00: Luckily they're they're safe, they didn't die.
- 21:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 21:57SPEAKER_02: We I had to double check, but yes, it's not gonna be They died.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: It seems like Piccolo let them go.
- 22:02SPEAKER_02: Um, I think before we continue, we should probably break down the guidelines of what we're gonna do in this episode.
- 22:08SPEAKER_02: I think we should stay C plot, then B plot, then A plot.
- 22:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 22:11SPEAKER_02: If that's okay.
- 22:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 22:14SPEAKER_02: And so the second Piccolo scene, because he's completely disjointed from the rest of the show.
- 22:19SPEAKER_02: Like, it's not a bad thing, because it is nice to cut away to him occasionally, but nothing he does is having any any anything at all to do with the rest of the gang or Goku or anything.
- 22:31SPEAKER_02: So you cut back to him again, and he is uh on a like swimming through the ocean, jumps up on a fishing boat, uh, blasts oh blasts a typhoon or a whirlpool into the grunt water, grabs a fish, is eating it, another fishing boat comes by and he blows it up.
- 22:48SPEAKER_02: And it seemingly is like I'm part of your team now.
- 22:51SPEAKER_02: I just took care of your competition.
- 22:53SPEAKER_02: You're welcome.
- 22:54SPEAKER_02: Meanwhile, they're like, what the heck is going on?
- 22:58SPEAKER_02: There's Atlanteans on the planet, and now they're on our boat.
- 23:02SPEAKER_02: What is this?
- 23:03SPEAKER_02: Don't piss them off, Bob.
- 23:05SPEAKER_01: Don't piss them off.
- 23:06SPEAKER_02: Ah, get it together.
- 23:08SPEAKER_02: Which Jesse You've got your green whale.
- 23:12SPEAKER_02: Jesse really enjoyed the Captain Ahab, you know, the Moby Dick reference.
- 23:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 23:17SPEAKER_02: Wasn't mentioned in the group being here, but it's, you know, it's a little bit.
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: It feels pretty on the nose that like that's the reference.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 23:23SPEAKER_02: That's where he got the name.
- 23:24SPEAKER_00: It was like, what's a good name for like a boat captain?
- 23:26SPEAKER_02: Ah, Ahab.
- 23:27SPEAKER_02: Everyone will know who that is.
- 23:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 23:29SPEAKER_02: I wonder if it translates to Japanese.
- 23:31SPEAKER_02: Like if in Japanese, like they I'm I'm sure they got Moby Dick now.
- 23:35SPEAKER_02: But I'm wondering if they got it then, or if they were able to read it then.
- 23:39SPEAKER_02: If they if it would have been an A like Ahab there.
- 23:42SPEAKER_02: I don't I just don't know how cultural stuff worked in the eighties.
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, if they like renamed the characters more culturally appropriate or something.
- 23:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because I know with like with more Japanese names.
- 23:52SPEAKER_02: In the eight like I know even in the eighties a bit, Japan was still pretty isolationist to a certain degree, you know.
- 23:58SPEAKER_02: And so I'm I wonder how much of this like how much cultural overlap there was, you know, if it was one-to-one or if they got a different name for their Ahab.
- 24:10SPEAKER_02: And it's just a fun emation being like, hey, it'd be funny if his name was Ahab, you know.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: It's probably pretty likely, I don't know.
- 24:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 24:16SPEAKER_02: Um we do get a bit of a flashback, you know.
- 24:21SPEAKER_02: Um, this is kinda I think this is up.
- 24:23SPEAKER_02: Oh, it was the flashback with uh where Mr.
- 24:26SPEAKER_02: Popo basically is like, hey, I'll sh I'll give you a hint on what to do.
- 24:29SPEAKER_02: Uh listen to for the bell.
- 24:31SPEAKER_02: Oh, you didn't hear the bell?
- 24:32SPEAKER_02: And then Goku being like, That's a tr you're tricking me, aren't you?
- 24:35SPEAKER_02: And he's like, Alright, Goku, you can leave now.
- 24:38SPEAKER_00: And then Goku explains like, well, actually, it just reminds me of like a trick that Roshi played on me and Krillin.
- 24:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 24:44SPEAKER_00: At least Krillin said Roshi was tricking us.
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: And it shows a scene of Roshi balancing water without spilling on his head while doing the bigger thing.
- 24:51SPEAKER_02: Being able to do moves in the martial arts while holding water on his head.
- 24:55SPEAKER_02: And he's like, This is kind of the same thing, you know?
- 24:58SPEAKER_02: And then he finally puts like two and two together and is like, so the what you're doing with the bell is the movement is the same as the water, and the water only makes only splashes if you move it in two directions.
- 25:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 25:11SPEAKER_02: And same with the bell, you have to move it back and forth.
- 25:13SPEAKER_02: And then Mr.
- 25:14SPEAKER_02: Hoppo's like, hey, look, you're actually not an idiot.
- 25:17SPEAKER_02: Um it's called redundant.
- 25:18SPEAKER_00: Sometimes you're smart when you try.
- 25:20SPEAKER_02: I mean, he we've we've known this.
- 25:22SPEAKER_02: Like, Goku is not a dumb person.
- 25:26SPEAKER_02: He is dumb in certain ways, but he is a very intelligent fighter.
- 25:30SPEAKER_02: It just takes him a bit to find his way of learning, you know.
- 25:35SPEAKER_00: He's it's gotta get through his brain in his own way.
- 25:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, exactly.
- 25:39SPEAKER_02: Because like even back when he was trading with Koran and the when he was at the tower the first time, it it when Koran would tell him something, he'd be like, I don't know what you mean.
- 25:49SPEAKER_02: And then he w Koram would kind of explain it a little different, and then Goku could could kind of transitive property to real life experience for him, and then he could get it.
- 26:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah, click it together.
- 26:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 26:02SPEAKER_02: It just takes him a little bit longer, but he's not dumb.
- 26:05SPEAKER_02: And I think he sells himself short a lot.
- 26:08SPEAKER_02: Uh and and he has in the show already, sold himself a little short.
- 26:12SPEAKER_02: I mean, he was able to copy the Kamehameha after seeing it one time.
- 26:18SPEAKER_02: Like nobody is you can't be called you can't call yourself dumb if you're able to perfectly replicate a Kung Fu move that blasts energy out of your hands after seeing it one time.
- 26:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 26:29SPEAKER_02: Straight up.
- 26:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 26:30SPEAKER_02: So anybody who out there who thinks Goku's an idiot, he is not an idiot in most ways.
- 26:36SPEAKER_02: Uh or he's not an idiot in because of these other ways that he's able to learn.
- 26:41SPEAKER_02: He's just not always the smartest guy in the room.
- 26:44SPEAKER_02: You know?
- 26:45SPEAKER_02: And then this is where we see Kami.
- 26:48SPEAKER_02: Kami walks out and I was like, okay, Goku, you learn the lesson of the bell.
- 26:51SPEAKER_02: Um, but I'm st you're still gonna have to learn like how to master it.
- 26:54SPEAKER_02: But I'll go ahead and talk to you now.
- 26:56SPEAKER_02: And Jesse, I paused it right before.
- 26:59SPEAKER_02: What did you tell the audience what you thought Kami was gonna look like?
- 27:03SPEAKER_00: Um, I actually I'd figured it out from because they show a silhouette of him uh earlier on in like either I think this episode.
- 27:10SPEAKER_02: Or even like I had a couple episodes before too, he does too.
- 27:13SPEAKER_00: But I I caught I called on to it in this episode because it was like it was the extended look at it.
- 27:18SPEAKER_00: Um it's gonna be a piccolo person.
- 27:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 27:22SPEAKER_00: And then he locks out and he's she's actually technically he is Piccolo, but he's the good side of Piccolo.
- 27:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 27:27SPEAKER_02: But you are he originally said he thought it might be Piccolo Jr.
- 27:31SPEAKER_02: Um was the thought you originally said when I paused it.
- 27:34SPEAKER_00: You said it, you think it's the piccolo that you recognize from Yeah, the pic the Piccolo that I've been talking about, like, oh, it's just a nice piccolo.
- 27:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 27:42SPEAKER_02: The piccolo that's like row that Jesse Jesse knows culturally that at some point.
- 27:48SPEAKER_02: A piccolo becomes a friend.
- 27:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 27:51SPEAKER_02: We don't know which piccolo it could be junior, it could be an a third one.
- 27:55SPEAKER_02: Maybe Goku does kill piccolo junior at the end of this, and then a third piccolo is born who's actually kind of cool.
- 28:01SPEAKER_02: You know, maybe there's a a different person, different, you know, piccolo species that comes down and is also named Piccolo and is a good guy.
- 28:10SPEAKER_02: We don't know yet, but it it could be any number of things.
- 28:14SPEAKER_02: But Jesse was like, this is gonna be the piccolo I know.
- 28:16SPEAKER_02: I can just feel it.
- 28:18SPEAKER_02: And then Jesse, was it?
- 28:20SPEAKER_02: No, that's common.
- 28:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah, which I I I figured you would have gotten it from the context clues of like what Corinne kept saying to Yadope, you know, being like, Oh, he's met him before, or he's seen him before, he's met this guy before, and then Yaduropi's like, hey, what do you mean?
- 28:36SPEAKER_02: He's like, and forget about it, you're not cool enough to know.
- 28:39SPEAKER_02: You're not turtly enough to join the turtle squad.
- 28:42SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 28:43SPEAKER_02: Um, but then we get the lore drop on Kami, where he says, To become the guardian of the universe, you have to be pure and want the power for protective reasons and noble reasons.
- 28:54SPEAKER_02: You can't have any bit of like evil in your heart.
- 28:58SPEAKER_02: Um unfortunately I did, so I trained a really long time and split myself in two basically.
- 29:04SPEAKER_02: And the good version of me went on to be the guardian, and the bad version of me went on to be the demon king.
- 29:09SPEAKER_02: And kind of the yeah.
- 29:11SPEAKER_02: And which is cool to think of that like guardians can last for like millennia, you know, or however long.
- 29:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 29:19SPEAKER_02: But they're not eternal.
- 29:21SPEAKER_02: Every guardian is a dip a little bit different, you know.
- 29:25SPEAKER_00: He has to find a replacement soon.
- 29:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 29:27SPEAKER_02: And yeah, so who else do we know, Jesse, who is pure of heart and wildly powerful?
- 29:34SPEAKER_00: Uh I think it's uh I think it's Krillin.
- 29:37SPEAKER_00: You know, Krillin's gonna be the guardian.
- 29:39SPEAKER_00: It might be.
- 29:39SPEAKER_00: Guardian of the universe, Krillin could be a great no, it's pretty obviously like the three-year training is not just to beat Piccolo, but also to prove to Kami that he can be the guardian.
- 29:49SPEAKER_02: When you kill Piccolo, we will need a new guardian.
- 29:53SPEAKER_02: So therefore, I'm training you to take over my spot.
- 29:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 29:57SPEAKER_02: I didn't want to say it, but you brought it, and I was like, okay, Jesse's got it.
- 30:00SPEAKER_02: Jesse's caught on to what's going on here.
- 30:02SPEAKER_00: It's it's very obvious, like, you have to be able to beat Piccolo Jr.
- 30:05SPEAKER_00: first, but then you're gonna find out like either I'm gonna tell you later in the training, or like when you're getting ready to go to the tournament, or you're gonna find out when you kill him, that when you come back, I'm not here, and you get the crown, or whatever, or the robe, whatever it's called.
- 30:20SPEAKER_02: Whatever, whatever the mystical trial, what you know, ceremony you get to drink another sacred water.
- 30:28SPEAKER_02: This is called the guardian water.
- 30:31SPEAKER_02: And it's even more powerful, but unfortunately, it does lock you from being able to uh you know interfere in regular affairs on Earth.
- 30:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 30:40SPEAKER_02: Because that's the main reason that he needs Goku to like be able to kill Piccolo, is it seems like the guardians are kind of like basically any other guardian from any other fiction where they're not really supposed to interfere.
- 30:55SPEAKER_02: They can interfere, but they're not supposed to.
- 30:57SPEAKER_00: There's also the other reason of he also can't kill himself.
- 31:01SPEAKER_00: I mean, we don't know if he can kill him.
- 31:02SPEAKER_00: No, he's he states it, I think.
- 31:04SPEAKER_00: He's like, I can't, I can't kill myself.
- 31:06SPEAKER_00: I need Goku to kill him for me.
- 31:08SPEAKER_00: I'm pretty sure he says something along those lines.
- 31:10SPEAKER_00: Like, that's like the Spark notes version of what he says.
- 31:13SPEAKER_00: He's basically just like, I can't I can't physically kill myself, so I need somebody else who's strong enough to do it, and Goku's the only one that's willing to.
- 31:20SPEAKER_02: I know we did just basically jump over the the B plot, but the B plot really is the gang is hanging out, and then the dragon.
- 31:27SPEAKER_02: Shinron, like, yeah, he revives Shinron.
- 31:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and then the Shinron shows up and is like, all everybody's back to life.
- 31:34SPEAKER_02: The end.
- 31:34SPEAKER_02: And that's the end of the game.
- 31:35SPEAKER_02: And then he scratches the dragon ball and then they'll find him.
- 31:37SPEAKER_02: Roshi is on screen for less than three minutes, and he immediately makes a perv joke, which is so on brand for him.
- 31:44SPEAKER_02: Uh, but then like he also tells everybody if he's going to go train with him, he's training with the guardian of the of Earth, and that means he's going to be even stronger than anyone has ever been before in the history of mankind.
- 31:58SPEAKER_02: So good luck beating him at the tournament.
- 32:00SPEAKER_02: And Tien's like, I don't need luck.
- 32:02SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna train even harder.
- 32:03SPEAKER_02: And so everybody starts training, and then presumably we're not going to see much of them moving forward.
- 32:09SPEAKER_00: We might check in every now and then, like we are Piccolo Jr.
- 32:12SPEAKER_00: Like, hey, they're still alive and they're training hard.
- 32:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 32:16SPEAKER_02: I do think that like we are getting we're going to be getting close to the training now, where it's going to continue to we're going to continue to get training going, and then we're going to like skip skip years in episodes two.
- 32:30SPEAKER_00: I I'm gonna assume we maybe have because what we're at we're episode 25, 26, I mean there's five, 152 or three or whatever it was.
- 32:41SPEAKER_02: 153.
- 32:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 32:43SPEAKER_02: I I I will tell you that the next episode is episode 127.
- 32:48SPEAKER_02: The the episode with a name that sounds like a tournament saga type name, might even be one that we've heard before, is episode 134.
- 32:57SPEAKER_02: So that means we're going through three three years in about seven episodes.
- 33:02SPEAKER_00: There's a good chunk of training, but we're getting very close to starting that tournament.
- 33:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 33:07SPEAKER_02: And so the tournament is on its way.
- 33:09SPEAKER_02: We're probably gonna bounce around a bit to see what the other people are doing, but it's not going to be constant.
- 33:15SPEAKER_00: We're not you're definitely not checking in with Nam, Bacterian, yeah.
- 33:18SPEAKER_02: I don't think any of them are making it to the third tournament.
- 33:21SPEAKER_02: Most of them are probably thankful for their life and are going to move on.
- 33:26SPEAKER_02: I know if I died and then was resurrected like a couple months later, I would not be going back into the line of work that got me killed.
- 33:34SPEAKER_02: I would be like, well, that was enough of that.
- 33:36SPEAKER_02: I'm moving on to something else.
- 33:38SPEAKER_02: I got a second chance at life.
- 33:40SPEAKER_02: Uh all my debt is cleared, and now I'm going to become a writer or something, you know?
- 33:45SPEAKER_02: Like, who cares?
- 33:47SPEAKER_02: Like, I I I I'm gonna go, you know, become like an environmentalist.
- 33:53SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna become a gardener, who knows?
- 33:55SPEAKER_02: Like anything other than fighting, because fighting got me killed.
- 33:59SPEAKER_02: And it already wasn't good for my health in the first place, but it's definitely not good in my for my health if I die.
- 34:05SPEAKER_02: So I'm gonna good luck to all you guys.
- 34:08SPEAKER_00: I'll wipe my hands with the bacteria's gonna take a shower for the first time.
- 34:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah, bacteria's gonna be like, alright, being stinky did not help.
- 34:16SPEAKER_02: So I'm gonna go get clean.
- 34:17SPEAKER_02: And then next thing we see is it's like uh new celebrity governor bacterion, and he's like, hello there, everybody.
- 34:25SPEAKER_02: Have you all there, Pokefan?
- 34:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 34:28SPEAKER_02: I am back.
- 34:30SPEAKER_02: I am the artist formerly known as formerly known as Bacterion, but now you can call me Trevor.
- 34:39SPEAKER_00: Now you can call me Mark Aplier.
- 34:41SPEAKER_02: You can call me Daddy.
- 34:44SPEAKER_00: He's a burlesque dancer.
- 34:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, everyone used to call me Bacterian.
- 34:49SPEAKER_02: Call me now you can call me Magic Baggy.
- 34:54SPEAKER_02: Um but that's basically the B plot.
- 34:57SPEAKER_02: The rest of the episode takes place on the the the top, and we kind of mostly have covered everything with Goku throughout, like, because we just there's not a lot going on in the other parts.
- 35:06SPEAKER_02: It's mostly a Goku focused episode.
- 35:08SPEAKER_00: It is it is a lot of building up the understanding of lore wise what's going on in this world.
- 35:15SPEAKER_00: Where it's like, okay, well, so technically actually Piccolo is a half the bad half of a good guy.
- 35:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 35:22SPEAKER_02: Well, this is the first time we hear about the ability to s fully separate like the bad version and the good.
- 35:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 35:28SPEAKER_00: To go full yin and yang, but you know, separate.
- 35:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 35:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you're you you stay yin, other one's yang.
- 35:34SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 35:35SPEAKER_02: Um, and being able to separate that evil.
- 35:38SPEAKER_02: Um, it's the first time, who knows if it'll be the last time.
- 35:42SPEAKER_02: That might not be, it might be.
- 35:43SPEAKER_02: Um, but it is a very unique power to see where you fully just, you know, get rid of all of the evil.
- 35:51SPEAKER_02: Um you get to know that now there is a guardian who kind of watches over the the universe.
- 35:57SPEAKER_02: So we're kind of building a hierarchy in like the the extraterrestrial type of stuff, you know, like the the spatial universal war or the you know hierarchy.
- 36:09SPEAKER_02: We now have a new top.
- 36:11SPEAKER_02: It used to be whoever's strongest on earth is the strongest person.
- 36:14SPEAKER_02: Now it's like even if you're strongest on earth, the guardian is probably stronger than you, more than likely stronger than you, just by like virtue of being the guardian.
- 36:23SPEAKER_02: Um and we get to, you know, Goku is l trying to learn how to become the next like guardian slash be able to beat Piccolo.
- 36:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 36:35SPEAKER_02: And that's kind of these episodes.
- 36:37SPEAKER_02: But like we said, they're lean episodes, but there is a lot to them at the same time.
- 36:41SPEAKER_02: Um but now that we are done with that, Jesse, um, I'd like to tell everybody to you know, subscribe, download, rate, review, leave a five-star rating um if you feel like we deserve it.
- 36:53SPEAKER_02: And Jesse, prediction time.
- 36:56SPEAKER_02: You said that Kami is the guardian of earth, and Goku convinces him to bring back the dragon.
- 37:02SPEAKER_02: Jesse, Kami is the guardian of earth, and Goku also convinces him to bring back the dragon.
- 37:08SPEAKER_02: So Jess, I do believe you got both of those right.
- 37:12SPEAKER_02: Um, jumping into the next two episodes, we have Quicker Than Lightning and Secret of the Woods.
- 37:20SPEAKER_02: What do you think is going to happen in these episodes?
- 37:23SPEAKER_00: A Quaker of Lightning and Quicker than Lord.
- 37:25SPEAKER_00: Quicker than Lightning.
- 37:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 37:27SPEAKER_02: Like kind of like kind of like how what Pope Mr.
- 37:29SPEAKER_02: Popo told him we need to be.
- 37:32SPEAKER_02: So, what do you think Quicker Than Lightning or Secret of the Woods means?
- 37:36SPEAKER_00: Um, I think quicker, quicker than lightning obviously means like Goku is like the training is going well, he's getting the first couple of lessons down.
- 37:45SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 37:47SPEAKER_02: Alright, what about Secret of the Woods?
- 37:51SPEAKER_00: Secret of the Woods.
- 37:52SPEAKER_00: Interesting.
- 37:55SPEAKER_00: Because like Goku's not gonna go to the woods, right?
- 37:59SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 38:00SPEAKER_00: Maybe because they want to train him up on that platform.
- 38:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 38:09SPEAKER_00: So maybe maybe like the gang goes to the woods.
- 38:14SPEAKER_00: The gang goes to the wood goes to the woods.
- 38:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 38:16SPEAKER_02: Maybe the gang goes and like finds the dead bear and figures out that's kind of on the hunt of Piccolo, and that's kind of our D plot for the episodes.
- 38:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 38:27SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 38:28SPEAKER_02: I'll take that.
- 38:29SPEAKER_02: I like that.
- 38:30SPEAKER_02: Um, so Jesse, what was your worst part of the episodes?
- 38:35SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 38:35SPEAKER_00: There's not a really lot of I mean like the perv moment's not even really that bad.
- 38:38SPEAKER_00: Like Roshi.
- 38:39SPEAKER_00: For me, Roshi, you get one.
- 38:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Roshi, you've been dead for a few months at this point.
- 38:44SPEAKER_02: You can have one perv moment, even if it is almost immediately after you come back.
- 38:48SPEAKER_02: You barely say anything other than give me a kiss, lady.
- 38:52SPEAKER_02: Um but for me, the worst part is most definitely before Roshi's brought back, and it is the perv moment for us, the the viewers of the show, where Bulma is opening her panty drawer and showing, you know, showing solver panty.
- 39:10SPEAKER_02: Completely unnecessary.
- 39:12SPEAKER_02: We skipped over it.
- 39:13SPEAKER_02: It doesn't matter.
- 39:14SPEAKER_02: It's in the it's in the differences saying this didn't happen in the manga, and it's like, well, no crap, this didn't happen in the manga.
- 39:20SPEAKER_02: This is completely added for no freaking reason.
- 39:22SPEAKER_02: Watching it as it was happening is like, well, this is useless.
- 39:26SPEAKER_02: I wrote this down.
- 39:27SPEAKER_02: It's like this is a pointless scene for a pointless episode just to give us like a sexualization of this character that has been sexualized since she was 15.
- 39:34SPEAKER_02: I think we don't need this.
- 39:36SPEAKER_02: We don't need it.
- 39:37SPEAKER_02: Get it out of here.
- 39:38SPEAKER_02: That's hands down, worst part.
- 39:40SPEAKER_02: I don't need to hear another worst part.
- 39:42SPEAKER_02: Yadurobi's scene is less egregious than that, you know?
- 39:46SPEAKER_02: Um, but Jesse, best part.
- 39:47SPEAKER_02: What's your best part?
- 39:49SPEAKER_02: Best part.
- 39:50SPEAKER_00: I like finding out the lore implications behind like Kami and Piccolo.
- 39:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 39:56SPEAKER_00: I I agree with you.
- 39:57SPEAKER_00: Counterpoint.
- 39:58SPEAKER_02: Krillin's back.
- 39:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I know you're probably gonna pick Krillin.
- 40:01SPEAKER_02: Krillin and the other guys.
- 40:03SPEAKER_02: We don't care about them as much.
- 40:04SPEAKER_02: And the other ones, I guess, right?
- 40:05SPEAKER_02: Literally in my in my notes, I wrote Krillin! Woo! And then I was like, oh, and I guess the other ones, you know.
- 40:11SPEAKER_02: Guess we should say, yay, Master Oshi's back, Chihasu's back.
- 40:15SPEAKER_02: They're not dead.
- 40:15SPEAKER_02: Nothing, nothing that Piccolo did has not reversed except for the trauma of the people who lived.
- 40:21SPEAKER_02: Anyways, we don't need to worry about that.
- 40:23SPEAKER_02: Um with that being said, you got any other notes, Jesse?
- 40:28SPEAKER_02: Uh no, I think we cut we talked on most of what I had.
- 40:31SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 40:31SPEAKER_02: So then thank you guys for listening.
- 40:33SPEAKER_02: We already told you about the, you know, down the subscribe rate and reviewing.
