- 0:00SPEAKER_01: Not a bad day today, but don't be surprised if there's a shower or thunderstorm later.
- 0:04SPEAKER_01: This is not gonna be like severe over the top crazy heavy inches of rainstorm day.
- 0:08SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 0:09SPEAKER_01: Just we could see a pop-up thunderstorm a little bit later, or maybe some showers.
- 0:12SPEAKER_01: Might stick around for a little bit of tomorrow, but then all of a sudden Friday's like perfect!
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: Oh, nice.
- 0:18SPEAKER_01: Sunday and 80.
- 0:19SPEAKER_01: So if you're going to the concert of tags, you uh will not have to worry about we might have to worry about mosquitoes, believe it or not.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: Oh, and you guys just come up to um come up to Centertown Social on Friday before you go to the concert because Scott and I are gonna be celebrity bartending starting at five.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: Now we do have an office that we picked to win our afterwork social at Centertown Social.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: But it doesn't mean that you guys can't come up, hang out, and we'll pour you some drinks.
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, oh it's open to the public.
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: So we're hoping that everyone will still come out, even though we'll be catering a little bit, like giving a few things to the winning office, which was the phlebotomy, love that word, phlebotomy department of uh Corning Hospital, which is interesting to me because the winner actually had told us she had foot surgery and has been out of work for God knows how long.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: So she has to call her boss and basically be like wrangle everybody up to be able to come out and do that.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: But I'm like, hey, and she was so excited, she's like, oh my God, I can't wait to get out.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: I haven't been out.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: Now, the other businesses that entered, you had said so many had jumped in there.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: We've had law offices, we had other type of businesses, credit unions.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh, you're all still in.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: There'll be another one in September.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: So you guys are in when we reopen the entry form, if you will, for our Scott and Alley Afterwork social.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: Anyone that didn't get in can enter again.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: But the other people, we're hanging on to you.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: We don't want to lose you.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: So we're gonna hold on to you for the next drawing.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be a really fun, happy hour.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: I even received a couple text messages about like what time are we gonna be there?
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: I had well, we had a coworker that texted me yesterday.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: She's bringing a whole crew with her.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's awesome.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: And then Zach's like, well, I'm gonna come up.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: I'm like, bring your co-workers.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: Yep, sure.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: Uh then I had another friend text me, what are you doing on Friday?
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: I'm like, well, actually, I'm celebrity bartending.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: So come up.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: I'm like, bring your co-workers.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: It should be a really good time.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: I hope you guys will come out.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: And if you haven't seen Centertown Social, there's two things.
- 2:08SPEAKER_01: One, since they opened till now, they've got new management and they've totally redone all the uh the operations of the place.
- 2:16SPEAKER_01: So it is a well-oiled, fine establishment that you should come see.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: Heck yeah.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: Now, Scott, I know you're cheap, but are you this cheap?
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: Probably.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: When you take the kids to get ice cream, do they end up kind of like halfway through, eh, and you have to lick the rest of their ice cream?
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: No, I won't do that.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: Uh but uh uh here's the thing.
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: I if it's just going to an ice cream stand, I don't know, one of the places uh, you know, I keep I always go back in my brain to tags because it's near my house.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: Of course.
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: Uh so I'm like, okay.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: You're a weird Walters.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: I yeah.
- 2:48SPEAKER_01: I always try to get the you know, I always ask, how big is like the baby size, the little size?
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: Because I know what's gonna happen.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: Anything over one scoop, they're not gonna eat.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: They kind of like get bored with it, they're done with it, it's flipping all down their arms.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: And Lydia's the one that's like, oh, I want chocolate and strawberry, and I'm like, great, now that's two scoops.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: I'll I'll get you that, but I know you won't eat it all.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: Well, listen to what this mom does, and this might be the way to go.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: She says she gets a small Dairy Queen ice cream, then splits it five ways between her and her four children.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: Okay, now hold on.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: Is this a cone or a blizzard?
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: It sounds like it's a dish.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: A small ice cream, a dish.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: Okay, if it's the blizzard, she's brilliant because the blizzard, no kid can get through until you're a certain age.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but how do you get four kids to agree on one flavor of blizzard?
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: Well, that is that's where Bob has to step in and say, you're getting chocolate.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: You're like, yeah, but then Gavin would hate that because he doesn't like chocolate.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: He likes vanilla.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: So uh I okay, that hurdle I can't help you with.
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: However, I think it's brilliant because the portion sizes for the for the kids, it's too much.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: I would totally do this.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: I had a blizzard.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: Lydia wanted a blizzard, I don't know, a couple months ago.
- 4:03SPEAKER_01: And uh, whatever the flavor was.
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: And she did pretty good.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: She got a quarter of the way down.
- 4:07SPEAKER_01: Now I ended up getting the smallest one they had.
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: It's like three of my bites.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, right?
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: I got a she the smallest one they had, she gets about a quarter of the way down.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: The thing sat in the freezer for three weeks.
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: And then I'm like, oh yeah, I forgot I should probably get rid of that.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: Which maybe this is not so cheap, but the smartest thing you can do.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: The woman says it's$3.89.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: So this is particularly Dairy Queen.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: It's$389 for this small ice cream.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: And she said, Why would I buy all four of my kids their own ice cream?
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: Because that's exactly what you're saying.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: It's gonna end up in the freezer, it's gonna be wasted.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: Eventually, you're just like, throw it away.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: So I don't waste money and I'm not dumb.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: I can feed all five.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: So is this the smartest thing that you can do or the cheapest?
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: I'll give you another hack.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: I found this out.
- 4:49SPEAKER_01: I know every fast food place hack, apparently.
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: But then again, have a 12 and 7-year-old.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: You figure them out.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: So I was told by Dairy Queen one time, don't get a small blizzard, get a medium.
- 4:57SPEAKER_01: It's it's actually a better deal.
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: You can you get more and it's more that's gonna sit in the freezer?
- 5:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: Great.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: Well, okay.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: Yes, if you can get the kids to agree on you know the flavor, that's the toughest part right there.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: Other than that, she's brilliant.
- 5:14SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: Or you and Lydia can share, because you already told us that her and Gavin just don't like the same flavors.
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: No, she Lydia'll go chocolate and strawberry.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: Gavin wants vanilla or mint chocolate chip.
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: So or sometimes cookies and cream.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: You can split with one of the kids, so at least you're not completely buying everyone a different flavor.
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I I mean, why not?
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: It's the way to go.
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: It's the same reason at Dairy Queen.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: I buy the two for five because they have a deal where you can get two things for five bucks.
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: Well, they like they like the pretzel sticks and the chicken things.
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: Why would I get like a big old meal?
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: So I'm like, yeah, you figure out the hacks.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: This woman's smart.
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: I don't I have no, it's not cheap.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: It's smart.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: This one I take out of the cheap department.
- 5:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because honestly, when I see those that there's like ice cream that's always hanging out in the freezer, it's like, well, it's never good anymore.
- 6:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: It's like when you try to eat fries the next day.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: Doesn't quite work.
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: I mean, an air fryer will help that.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: Um, we tried it last night, not quite.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: No.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: By the way, Betty did say, yes, ball kissers for the bocce ball name.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: Uh, I do want to let you know that uh uh let's see who texted this really quick here.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: Uh 0136 said pumpkin is back at Duncan.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: Ooh, thank you.
- 6:22SPEAKER_00: Yes, yes, yes.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: Can't forget about that.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: Let's see here.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: And let's see.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: Oh, wait.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: Oh, when they would get ice cream, they never ask me if I want any.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: Oh, that was from Tiffany.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: What the kids or that was from Tiffany.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: Well You don't eat woman, so why should I keep trying to offer it up there?
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: Right, you're you're just as bad as the kids where you have ice cream.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: And it's like Melissa who works here.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: She'll have ice cream in the freezer forever.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: I'm like, if you weren't gonna eat it, I would have ate that.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, right?
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: Like on the first day.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: Tell me.
