- 0:00Speaker 1: Good morning, good morning, good morning, and welcome, welcome, Welcome's
- 0:02Speaker 1: time to talk to the fast Track guys. We have
- 0:05Speaker 1: got the tate Fellers in here and gentlemen. It has
- 0:08Speaker 1: been a little bit chilly to say the least, but
- 0:11Speaker 1: business has been red hot, hasn't it.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Yeah, we're thankful for all the business, thankful for Bartlesville
- 0:17Speaker 2: and everybody coming out and supporting us and coming to
- 0:19Speaker 2: see us a fast Track.
- 0:20Speaker 1: Now, what have you been working on most besides tires?
- 0:23Speaker 1: I know you've been getting a lot of that.
- 0:25Speaker 2: We have.
- 0:25Speaker 3: We've been doing tires, we've been doing alignments, and we've
- 0:28Speaker 3: been getting some mechanical out. You know, breaks are wearing out.
- 0:32Speaker 3: People are hearing him squeak, and it's not always just
- 0:35Speaker 3: the weather that's causing.
- 0:36Speaker 4: Him to squeak. So a lot of it's wear, isn't it.
- 0:39Speaker 3: A lot of it's where it'll wear down a little bit.
- 0:41Speaker 3: There's a little metal stick on there almost it's a
- 0:44Speaker 3: little wear indicator. We'll always check breaks for free. So
- 0:48Speaker 3: bring it down and we'll pop wheels off, check them out.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Doesn't take long, twenty thirty minutes and we'll see exactly
- 0:54Speaker 3: where your breakbads are.
- 0:55Speaker 1: At any guys come from a long line tire experts,
- 0:57Speaker 1: don't you.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Yeah, we come from where the third generation of Tates
- 1:01Speaker 2: in the tire business in Bartsmore. Grandpa started at Otasco
- 1:05Speaker 2: in the seventies and then open Bob Tates Tire turned
- 1:08Speaker 2: into Tate Boys and now Clay and I at fast Track.
- 1:11Speaker 5: So we've got a little bit of experience, just.
- 1:14Speaker 4: A little bit.
- 1:15Speaker 1: You guys were kind of knocking around with tires when
- 1:17Speaker 1: you were just young guys, weren't you.
- 1:19Speaker 3: My dad used to when I was fifteen, drop me
- 1:22Speaker 3: off at the shop and say all right, see in
- 1:24Speaker 3: six hours and then come pick me back up. Now,
- 1:27Speaker 3: they weren't letting me touch cars back then, So I've graduated.
- 1:30Speaker 3: I can touch the cars now, I just can't look
- 1:32Speaker 3: at them too long.
- 1:32Speaker 4: Oh, I understand how that goes. I do. Now.
- 1:36Speaker 1: You call yourself fast track. Now, fast is one thing,
- 1:41Speaker 1: but when we talk about it, it's really efficient. But
- 1:45Speaker 1: efficient track really doesn't sound.
- 1:47Speaker 5: Doesn't flow off the tongue quite as well.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Yeah, we're one of our biggest priorities is valuing your time,
- 1:53Speaker 2: and we want to make sure.
- 1:54Speaker 5: That when you come in you can wait on your service.
- 1:56Speaker 2: You don't have to schedule it, you don't have to
- 1:57Speaker 2: have an apployment. Whenever it's convenient for you, you can bring
- 2:00Speaker 2: your vehicle in and for ninety nine percent of the
- 2:02Speaker 2: services that we do, we'll change just tires, flats, tire rotations.
- 2:07Speaker 2: We're gonna have those done in fifteen to thirty minutes.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Well, that's because you've been around it so long. You
- 2:12Speaker 1: know what you're doing, and you can do that fairly routine,
- 2:15Speaker 1: but always with a careful eye.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Oh absolutely, Yeah, And I'm gonna let you on a secret.
- 2:21Speaker 3: We're gonna make mistakes sometimes, and I think what really
- 2:24Speaker 3: sets us apart is is how we handle those mistakes.
- 2:26Speaker 3: So if something does take longer, we're gonna communicate that
- 2:30Speaker 3: to the customer and not just kind of leave them
- 2:31Speaker 3: in the dark.
- 2:32Speaker 1: See, Hey, it's gonna take about five or six more
- 2:34Speaker 1: minutes here, if you don't mind, we would like to
- 2:36Speaker 1: do this right for you.
- 2:37Speaker 4: Right. I imagine you understand that pretty well.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Yeah, usually goes over over pretty well, giving them in
- 2:43Speaker 3: the loop.
- 2:44Speaker 4: Yeah, how's your popcorn supply going?
- 2:46Speaker 5: Our popcorn is really good.
- 2:48Speaker 2: We've actually recently upgraded our popcorn and we have I
- 2:51Speaker 2: think eight different flavors of popcorn now Clay.
- 2:56Speaker 4: So you can munch a little bit while you're waiting
- 2:58Speaker 4: at and getting your vehicle.
- 2:59Speaker 1: They take here. Where'd you come up with the name
- 3:01Speaker 1: fast Track? It looks good on the jacket, looks great
- 3:03Speaker 1: on the hat. So where where did you? Where did
- 3:06Speaker 1: you get that for your bonnet?
- 3:07Speaker 4: Thank you?
- 3:07Speaker 3: Yeah, PDG Creative did a great job with the logo. Uh,
- 3:11Speaker 3: we came up with it. I mean that was the
- 3:13Speaker 3: hardest part, was just coming up with a name. So
- 3:15Speaker 3: we're fast, we like to get people back on track.
- 3:18Speaker 3: So just kind of melded, molded the two together.
- 3:21Speaker 4: Oh wow, great.
- 3:22Speaker 1: So the philosophy is we're not gonna take long, but
- 3:26Speaker 1: we're gonna do it right.
- 3:27Speaker 5: We're gonna be convenient, and we're gonna do things the
- 3:29Speaker 5: right way.
- 3:29Speaker 2: We have processes for everything that allow us to go quick,
- 3:32Speaker 2: and we work hard. We care about getting people in
- 3:35Speaker 2: and out. So when you see Clay and I running
- 3:37Speaker 2: around in the shops, that's because we're hustling around to
- 3:40Speaker 2: make sure that we make the experience as clean and
- 3:43Speaker 2: easy for you for the customers as possible.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Well, there you go it all without customers, you nothing,
- 3:49Speaker 1: so can I get how that goes.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Where you located.
- 3:51Speaker 3: We are located at seven hundred Southwest Frank Phillips Boulevard,
- 3:55Speaker 3: right next door to slumber Jay on the same side
- 3:58Speaker 3: of the street.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Easy and easy in, easy out and therefore make it
- 4:05Speaker 1: faster track, I guess, and across the street from Pacheetahs too,
- 4:09Speaker 1: you know, so in case you're hungry.
- 4:11Speaker 5: Pre notable spot there, very notable.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Now when we get into some of the other things
- 4:16Speaker 1: that we did touch on, like brakes and things like that,
- 4:19Speaker 1: what other services do you offer?
- 4:21Speaker 2: So we obviously do all your tire services, oil changes,
- 4:25Speaker 2: preventative maintenance, mechanical it's breaks, its alignments, suspension work, alternators, batteries,
- 4:32Speaker 2: basically anything outside of the motor and the transmission we're.
- 4:35Speaker 5: Going to take care for you.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Well, very good. That takes care of a lot of
- 4:39Speaker 1: problems there. And also folks have been asking do you
- 4:44Speaker 1: guys come out and help folks along the roadside or
- 4:46Speaker 1: is that something else?
- 4:47Speaker 3: Absolutely so, we are not set up to be a
- 4:50Speaker 3: full time service call company, but if so, if you're
- 4:53Speaker 3: in a pinch and you need help, call us because
- 4:56Speaker 3: we will come help you.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Absolutely well, that's just the way you guys are customer, customer,
- 5:01Speaker 1: customer first, I love.
- 5:03Speaker 5: We like people. It's it's pretty to be nice to
- 5:06Speaker 5: people and work hard for them.
- 5:08Speaker 4: Well, they like you guys too.
- 5:10Speaker 1: I understand that, do you know, A laughs, a complimentary there,
- 5:13Speaker 1: So you guys do cut up. But the thing is
- 5:16Speaker 1: is that you're so serious about your work. People also
- 5:19Speaker 1: know that when it's time to really get going, you
- 5:22Speaker 1: guys really get going.
- 5:23Speaker 4: Really beare down.
- 5:24Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, we uh it's like the first day
- 5:27Speaker 3: we opened on August first, it was the hottest day
- 5:30Speaker 3: of the year. We lost to combine eighteen pounds water weight.
- 5:35Speaker 4: My guys.
- 5:37Speaker 1: And now that it's cold and you know handwhere you know,
- 5:40Speaker 1: the gloves come in handy, so you don't, you know,
- 5:42Speaker 1: lose a knuckle on a lugnut.
- 5:44Speaker 5: Clan and I are we don't wear gloves.
- 5:46Speaker 2: We're we have really tough hands and we're trying to
- 5:49Speaker 2: see who has the toughest hands and who's gonna put
- 5:50Speaker 2: gloves on first.
- 5:51Speaker 5: So so far we're tied up.
- 5:53Speaker 1: There's a competition there for you one for the ages too.
- 5:57Speaker 1: How many vehicles can you work on it?
- 5:59Speaker 3: Oh twenty five?
- 6:01Speaker 1: Oh okay, just checking, just checking. I didn't know how big,
- 6:04Speaker 1: how big the inside was. I just saw it from
- 6:06Speaker 1: the outside. I just wondered.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Yeah, our shop is is five bays. We have four
- 6:10Speaker 2: operating because one is tire storage. But we have bay well,
- 6:13Speaker 2: I mean, we work on vehicles outside of the base.
- 6:15Speaker 2: So if we have all our base tied up and
- 6:17Speaker 2: a customer comes in and needs a flat repaired, we're
- 6:19Speaker 2: gonna we're gonna pull it up right outside the bay.
- 6:21Speaker 2: And so basically we got unlimited bays as much space
- 6:25Speaker 2: as we have in the parking lot.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll find out how good of customers we've been
- 6:28Speaker 3: at Pacheetah's. If they're letting us work on cars in
- 6:30Speaker 3: their parking lot.
- 6:34Speaker 4: Oh man, what a good neighbor. And I have man.
- 6:37Speaker 4: So once again it's fast track tire and service.
- 6:41Speaker 1: And my golly, they'll they'll they'll check out your brakes
- 6:45Speaker 1: and do a little repair on it if you you
- 6:47Speaker 1: need to repair on your brakes, and also get that tire.
- 6:51Speaker 4: Up and going. I had one.
- 6:52Speaker 1: I'm gonna have to come in and show you this one.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Oh boy, there's no repair on this. It got eight
- 7:00Speaker 1: seeen the tire that's been pretty much eaten. There's just
- 7:02Speaker 1: nothing there but just wire and just little shreds rubber. Yeah,
- 7:07Speaker 1: that'd be my gift. We need I need to get
- 7:11Speaker 1: a new window and for my daughter's jeep as a
- 7:14Speaker 1: matter of fact, teaching her to drive. She took the
- 7:16Speaker 1: curb too many times. And yeah, we can the sidewall.
- 7:20Speaker 1: And so you have new tires for sale as well
- 7:24Speaker 1: as doing repairs, correct.
- 7:26Speaker 4: We do.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Yeah, we keep keep new tires on hand. And there's
- 7:29Speaker 3: something we don't have, we can usually get it same
- 7:31Speaker 3: day too, we know, you know, before noon or so.
- 7:35Speaker 4: Now, is there a particular brand that you have a
- 7:37Speaker 4: lot in stock?
- 7:39Speaker 2: Not per se, We're carrying a lot of Cooper's, but
- 7:42Speaker 2: we want to make sure we put the right tire
- 7:43Speaker 2: on the customer's vehicle for their needs.
- 7:45Speaker 5: So we can get our hands on anything.
- 7:47Speaker 2: From Michelin, the Goodyear, Bridgestone, Cooper, any one of them.
- 7:51Speaker 2: We're we just want to make sure the customers match
- 7:53Speaker 2: up with the correct tire for them.
- 7:55Speaker 4: Okay, very good. I'll be seeing the leader this week. Guys.
- 7:58Speaker 1: I got to tell you that was that was an incident.
- 8:00Speaker 1: But anyway, it was a good thing. The old man
- 8:03Speaker 1: was in the car. You know what I'm saying yeah,
- 8:06Speaker 1: but all the same, it's all about getting you back
- 8:09Speaker 1: on the road safe and also efficiently too. And you're
- 8:14Speaker 1: going to find that the price is a very very
- 8:15Speaker 1: competitive and when you factoring the convenience, that's almost priceless.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Oh.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Absolutely, So we always tell people we want to give
- 8:24Speaker 3: you the best price and the best service. No reason
- 8:27Speaker 3: that you shouldn't get the best of both worlds.
- 8:29Speaker 4: All right, and once again you're located over there by
- 8:32Speaker 4: slumber say.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Yep, seven hundred southwest frank Phillips, just west of Slumber Jay,
- 8:37Speaker 2: just south and west of Tacos Pacheetahs.
- 8:41Speaker 1: All right, good, I want to get back to breaks
- 8:43Speaker 1: and brake pads and things like that. When you start
- 8:46Speaker 1: to hear a little bit about little grind, is that
- 8:49Speaker 1: usually the tip off that bad things are about to happen.
- 8:52Speaker 5: That is a yes.
- 8:54Speaker 2: When you start hearing any noise from your breaks, that's
- 8:56Speaker 2: something you want to address immediately and make sure that
- 8:59Speaker 2: you're not doing any more damage by letting it go
- 9:01Speaker 2: further than it should.
- 9:02Speaker 5: So when you start hearing.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Those noises, bringing on in like Clay with Sant Texas
- 9:06Speaker 2: twenty to thirty minutes to check those breaks for you.
- 9:08Speaker 2: It's complimentary. We're not gonna charge you for it. And
- 9:10Speaker 2: at least then you know where you're at.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Oh, very good, I'll be seeing you with two vehicles.
- 9:19Speaker 5: Oh you get to try the popcorn.
- 9:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll get to turn the popcorn. There you go.
- 9:24Speaker 1: So you've been in business since August, hottest day of
- 9:27Speaker 1: the year. You witness the coldest day of the year
- 9:29Speaker 1: at the shop. But tires are tires and they're going
- 9:32Speaker 1: to perform differently in all kinds of weather. And it's
- 9:35Speaker 1: always great to know that you've got a supplier that's
- 9:37Speaker 1: going to be there for you to make sure that
- 9:39Speaker 1: you have the right fit for your vehicle, one that's
- 9:42Speaker 1: gonna take you where you need to go and get
- 9:44Speaker 1: you there safely.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Definitely something else that will do for free. We like
- 9:48Speaker 3: a lot of free stuff. We may not be the
- 9:50Speaker 3: best businessman, but we like free. Is the free air
- 9:53Speaker 3: pressure checks. So, especially when it's cold, it may drop
- 9:56Speaker 3: it down a little bit and you're annoying little tire
- 9:58Speaker 3: Lin'll kick on, bring it in. We'll top them off
- 10:01Speaker 3: a couple of minutes and you're out of there.
- 10:04Speaker 4: Okay, that's good to know.
- 10:05Speaker 1: It's really good to know because there are some people
- 10:08Speaker 1: as we mature, you just can't go to the convenience
- 10:12Speaker 1: store and bend down without you know, thinking, oh, I
- 10:15Speaker 1: think I'm going to pass out, you know, and it's
- 10:19Speaker 1: good to know that you guys are there for folks
- 10:22Speaker 1: who are gaining an age.
- 10:24Speaker 5: Yeah, having the proper equipment makes it easy.
- 10:26Speaker 2: So if you don't mess with your er, bring it
- 10:28Speaker 2: to us, we're happy to take care of it.
- 10:30Speaker 4: And being young like you guys is a big plus too.
- 10:33Speaker 5: We're big though, so bending down is tough.
- 10:38Speaker 1: So once again, it's a fast track. Do you have
- 10:40Speaker 1: a Facebook or a website or anything like that so
- 10:43Speaker 1: folks can take a look at it to get a
- 10:44Speaker 1: little bit more familiar with you before they come in.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Yes, we are on Facebook and recently Instagram. Our website
- 10:51Speaker 3: is in the works as we speak.
- 10:53Speaker 4: So you guys are on the gram huh, we're on
- 10:55Speaker 4: the grams.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Speaking of social media, I hope all our educators have
- 10:59Speaker 2: seen one of our more recent posts. For all of January,
- 11:03Speaker 2: we have half off old changes for all educators, So
- 11:05Speaker 2: just our little way of giving back saying thank you
- 11:07Speaker 2: to the educators that are just coming back off of
- 11:10Speaker 2: Christmas break. So if you need your old change bringing
- 11:12Speaker 2: into us, you get a great deal on it. Obviously,
- 11:14Speaker 2: we're gonna do our best to take care of you
- 11:17Speaker 2: and make sure you're back on the road quickly, but
- 11:18Speaker 2: you also get a great deal on that old change.
- 11:20Speaker 5: Well.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Nice taking care of those who take care of us wonderful.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Appreciate it, folks. Once again, we're talking to our friends
- 11:28Speaker 1: here from Fast Track Tire and Service. And when they
- 11:32Speaker 1: say service, they mean service. It's just not something there
- 11:35Speaker 1: to fill up the sign or the logo that is
- 11:38Speaker 1: probably one of the biggest parts of your business name
- 11:42Speaker 1: for sure.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Yeah, something that was ingrained in us, I mean before
- 11:46Speaker 3: we even started working in the stores. Is a good
- 11:49Speaker 3: analogy is growing up hunting. Our dad's always said, hey,
- 11:52Speaker 3: when you go hunt somewhere, leave it better than where
- 11:55Speaker 3: you found it, And so we try to apply that
- 11:58Speaker 3: to our work life too. A vehicle comes in and
- 12:00Speaker 3: leave it better than when it came in. Whether it's
- 12:03Speaker 3: an air track you put an extra valve cap on,
- 12:06Speaker 3: or it's a new set of tires and you shine
- 12:08Speaker 3: the wheels. You know you can find something on that
- 12:10Speaker 3: vehicle to leave it in a better condition than where
- 12:13Speaker 3: it was brought in.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Well, i'll tell you what. That pays big dividends too.
- 12:16Speaker 1: People remember that, they really do. They'll say, those guys
- 12:19Speaker 1: went the extra mile and the next thing you know,
- 12:22Speaker 1: they're they're telling their friends and relatives and it works
- 12:25Speaker 1: out pretty good.
- 12:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:27Speaker 5: Our dads and I have told us us this business
- 12:30Speaker 5: is really easy. Just be nice to people and work hard.
- 12:33Speaker 2: So that's something that stuck with us forever and always
- 12:36Speaker 2: will and that's I mean, that's what gets us up
- 12:38Speaker 2: and gets us going.
- 12:39Speaker 5: Is we love taking care of people.
- 12:41Speaker 1: All righty, that's Fast Track Tire and Service in Bartlesville,
- 12:45Speaker 1: right off Frank Phillips Boulevard, right next to Slumbers. Hey, gentlemen,
- 12:49Speaker 1: thank you for being a part of bar one on
- 12:51Speaker 1: one with Pro.
- 12:52Speaker 5: Thank you, thank you so much.
