- 0:27Hello everybody, welcome to another episode of Pop Culture Junky Podcast.
- 0:32My name is Shauna and I am joined by these lovely co-hosts whose names are...
- 0:37Olivia
- 0:38And Nicole.
- 0:39It is wonderful to see you guys today.
- 0:42You both look lovely as I was just telling Olivia and Nicole,
- 0:46they kind of dressed up today and I look kind of like a Shlumpy Asshole.
- 0:51Your titties look phenomenal.
- 0:52Thank you, I'm not wearing a bra.
- 0:54I know, that's why I look so good.
- 0:56Thank you.
- 0:57Thank you.
- 0:58It's just...
- 0:59It's just she puts her hair in front of me.
- 1:00Thank you.
- 1:01Tits up?
- 1:02No, I appreciate that.
- 1:05Since COVID, it's been a challenge for me to get a bra on.
- 1:08I don't know, if I go to the office, I'll wear one.
- 1:11What is this prison you want me to put my chest in?
- 1:14Honestly, this tit prison, no.
- 1:16Not good.
- 1:17Hanging it free.
- 1:18I have words for the maker of the bra.
- 1:21It is a leg up from a corset, but it is.
- 1:25I look skinnier in a corset.
- 1:28Sometimes an outfit requires a bra though.
- 1:30If I have a good, like, a tip top and I'm like,
- 1:33"This needs a little piece."
- 1:35A little piece?
- 1:36It needs counter gravity?
- 1:38Yeah, yeah.
- 1:39I get that deeply.
- 1:40They look a little too 35 sometimes.
- 1:43I think they're beautiful, 35.
- 1:45Oh my god.
- 1:46Almost like J-Lo and her 54.
- 1:50No one's as perfect and amazing and relatable as J-Lo.
- 1:53Go to group that.
- 1:54J-Lo would too.
- 1:55All right, so you guys have great tits and that just about wraps up another episode.
- 2:00We're not going to get better at that.
- 2:02Go to the Patreon for pictures.
- 2:03Oh my god.
- 2:04Can you imagine?
- 2:05No.
- 2:06We will blow up right next to Nicole's face.
- 2:08Nicole's face in my tent.
- 2:09They're not hairy.
- 2:10Oh, I thought that was the bit.
- 2:12Are they hairy?
- 2:13I've seen them.
- 2:14You won't show us.
- 2:15Yeah, they're always covered.
- 2:17Unless they're on my shoe.
- 2:19They are hairy then.
- 2:21It's the universe.
- 2:22Oh my god.
- 2:23This is feral.
- 2:24Okay.
- 2:25What have you guys been watching?
- 2:27Reading, listening to, what are you obsessed with this whole hairy feet?
- 2:30Besides tits and feet.
- 2:32What else is there?
- 2:34Since I'm a sports girl, I've been obsessed with March Madness.
- 2:39That's what I've been watching.
- 2:40I didn't know where to go from there.
- 2:42Who's in it still as of recording today?
- 2:46If we want to go by local teams, U of A University of Arizona is still in it.
- 2:53Hey, how's A?
- 2:54Is you doing?
- 2:55Never even made it.
- 2:56Well, but you know who did make it that is very surprising.
- 3:01I believe if I remember this correctly, Grand Canyon University made the second round of the
- 3:08tournament for the first time in school history.
- 3:11That's insane.
- 3:12Loads up, baby.
- 3:13Which is, yeah, it is crazy.
- 3:14Yeah.
- 3:15Okay.
- 3:16So GCU for anybody listening is a for-profit Christian University in Phoenix, Arizona.
- 3:22And they just entered into what's it called?
- 3:27The league that they're, I don't know.
- 3:28They just got eligibility.
- 3:29A division monitor?
- 3:30Some there it is.
- 3:31Yeah.
- 3:32That's the past.
- 3:33Like within the last decade.
- 3:34Yeah.
- 3:35Yeah.
- 3:36I dated a guy who was a tour guide for GCU.
- 3:40I heard it say an athlete.
- 3:41She's huge.
- 3:42It's no idea.
- 3:44And who was a tour guide at GCU.
- 3:47And we didn't break up immediately after this fight.
- 3:50But right after we had this fight, we broke up like two weeks later.
- 3:54So I do blame this.
- 3:56And I'm sorry, GCU.
- 3:57Oh, no.
- 3:58Fuck GCU.
- 3:59I think you're supporting it.
- 4:01I'm with your eye shadow.
- 4:02I'm calling it.
- 4:03We're, we were watching Patriots Day.
- 4:06And he went on this completely like anti-Muslim rant.
- 4:12Oh my God.
- 4:13And him and I got into an argument about how like the Quran and how it doesn't say to
- 4:18like hurt anyone.
- 4:19He was like, I've taken a college level class about how what you're saying isn't true.
- 4:24And I was like, you took a college level Christian university class on religion.
- 4:29Do you really think that's a lot of non-gaiic Christianity 101?
- 4:33I was a enrollment counselor there.
- 4:36No, it's like a world religion.
- 4:38Yeah.
- 4:39So if you're going to a Christian university, you're not going to get the most unbiased view
- 4:44of what religions believe.
- 4:46And I was so bad.
- 4:48But yeah, he really believed.
- 4:50He really believed.
- 4:51Shout out.
- 4:52And I'm sorry, I said, fuck GCU.
- 4:54I know a lot of my friends went there and got degrees there.
- 4:56But from a person who's in a affordable work there for a minute, it was not a great place
- 5:01to be employed.
- 5:02Yeah, it's very much Dan Marles.
- 5:04Really sure.
- 5:05For head coach for basketball.
- 5:06Oh, okay.
- 5:07Phoenix Suns, Dan Marley.
- 5:09Well, yeah, Hottie McHot Hot.
- 5:11Maybe that's why they made it.
- 5:13To a proper way.
- 5:14They have like a former Phoenix Suns player.
- 5:16I'm sure they're a good team.
- 5:17Yeah.
- 5:18Yeah, they looked pretty decent when they were playing.
- 5:21Just like my ex-boyfriend, Torgaid.
- 5:23Looks decent from the beginning.
- 5:25Looks decent from the beginning.
- 5:26It's like a suck.
- 5:27All right.
- 5:28Now that we went on a Christian college rant, Olivia, what have you been in too lately?
- 5:34So I've actually read two books this week, shocking.
- 5:39And unfortunately, there were both intro novels to a series.
- 5:44And I have learned something about myself that if one book ends, I need a second one immediately.
- 5:49So I need to like, wait and not read these debut novels.
- 5:53But both of them were really, really good.
- 5:55So the first one was a fate, inked in blood.
- 5:59And it's all on Norse mythology.
- 6:01So think like low key, love those kind of things.
- 6:05And it was great.
- 6:06When I finished it, I was so sad.
- 6:09They don't even have a release date for the second book.
- 6:11It's that new of a debut novel.
- 6:14But the second book that I read, which is a book talk book.
- 6:18And I was like, okay, I'm seeing it a lot.
- 6:20I need to go check out what this is.
- 6:22And it's called Bride.
- 6:24It's by Ali Hazelwood.
- 6:26It's a traditional romantic writer.
- 6:31But it's her like forte and two fantasy.
- 6:35And it's in what they call the Omegaverse, which I still don't really understand.
- 6:39But from my understanding, it's like vampires, werewolves, like a bunch of magical creatures,
- 6:45kind of existing in it.
- 6:47And I really, I'm so ready for this.
- 6:52It's about a vampire and a vampire has to forcefully marry like a werewolf to unite their
- 6:58people, whatever.
- 7:02And the last hundred pages of it.
- 7:05I'm glad it was in the end of it because the werewolves are very similar to dogs in the
- 7:12sense that they also get red rockets.
- 7:16But okay, it's the red rocket like human size, so.
- 7:20No, so the original, the original male part is like a normal male part.
- 7:28And then whenever they are about to relieve themselves is when they get the red rocket.
- 7:34And it comes out of the tip of the human.
- 7:37Just like a dog, baby.
- 7:38Just like a dog.
- 7:39Yeah.
- 7:40Yeah, it was drawing.
- 7:42And then they call it the not, not a red rocket, not the same.
- 7:47That's not sexual, that's not hot.
- 7:49They call it the not.
- 7:51And it, yeah, yeah, the word the not to describe that.
- 7:57It's painful.
- 7:58I don't like it.
- 7:59Like, try and not inside of you.
- 8:02Like, I imagine it being like, like, a boy scout.
- 8:06Not like it goes inside and then it ties them up.
- 8:08I'm just picturing like it being folded like that.
- 8:11And I'm in pain for them.
- 8:13I don't know.
- 8:14I don't know.
- 8:15I didn't like it.
- 8:16But the book was good.
- 8:17Unfortunately, it was like the last hundred to fifty pages.
- 8:21Oh my god.
- 8:22So after that, I was like, okay, I'm glad this ended because if they kept talking about
- 8:25it, I'm out.
- 8:26So I've heard of Notting before from a vice article.
- 8:31And vice rights, just the most fair last fucking article is right where you're just like,
- 8:36do you want to know where the G spot is?
- 8:38And this part of your butt reaches article and you're like, sure, like click.
- 8:43Yeah.
- 8:44I mean, obviously, I'm going to click on that.
- 8:46And when it was like, why this one direction fanfic trope is making the internet go wild.
- 8:52And I was like, sure.
- 8:54And Notting shows up a lot in one direction fanfic.
- 8:58Like there's going to be a rocket.
- 9:00Yeah.
- 9:01Where like Harry's the, the alpha and the driver, whatever.
- 9:09And he knocks inside of God.
- 9:11I can't think of any other one direction members.
- 9:13There's the same.
- 9:14He knocks inside of Zane and they all.
- 9:17And then a little one direction.
- 9:19Yeah.
- 9:20Baby is formed in.
- 9:21Yeah.
- 9:22And apparently this is a thing.
- 9:24Okay.
- 9:25Well, from a teenager's mind to my disturbing nightmare.
- 9:30Now you heard it.
- 9:31Fate, inked and blood, not as much weird shit.
- 9:34End of the book.
- 9:35So good.
- 9:36Bright.
- 9:37We have some questions for you.
- 9:38Ali Hazelwood.
- 9:39You know, we don't see you in one direction.
- 9:41You're going to be.
- 9:42I feel like she's a one direction girl.
- 9:43She has to be who knows.
- 9:44But really, really good.
- 9:46That's what I've been obsessed with.
- 9:47What about you?
- 9:48So she's been obsessed with where we've sex.
- 9:51Yes.
- 9:52Who couldn't be who amongst us?
- 9:55Who amongst us?
- 9:56Who amongst us?
- 9:59I want to talk about two things that I've watched this week.
- 10:03The first one is X-Men 97, which I feel like a lot of millennial Marvel fans have been
- 10:11interested in an excited for.
- 10:13So there was an X-Men cartoon, X-Men the animated series that aired from 1992 to 1997.
- 10:21And it was amazing and iconic and kind of started.
- 10:26It was part of Marvel's animated universe in the 90s.
- 10:29They had a few shows that really kind of launched Marvel creating movies and television
- 10:35shows.
- 10:36I feel like the MCU.
- 10:37This is like pre-Brian singer X-Men.
- 10:40This is pre the MCU pre-The In-If-The-Live-Action thing is I was a child when these came out.
- 10:47I watched them.
- 10:48It's like a Saturday morning cartoon thing.
- 10:50The theme song is amazing and iconic.
- 10:53And at the very end, it ended in spoiler for the ending of a show from 1997.
- 11:00I don't know.
- 11:01Professor X dies.
- 11:03So this X-Men 97, it has a lot of the original voice cast came back for this and it's on Disney
- 11:11Plus and it picks up right where it left off.
- 11:14So it's based in 1997.
- 11:17They pick up right after Professor X died.
- 11:20Magneto is there.
- 11:22Cyclops storm.
- 11:24Wolverine.
- 11:26It's incredible.
- 11:27Is that like new writing or is that a part of a comic?
- 11:31So there are a lot of comic stories where Professor X dies.
- 11:36Spoiler I guess for X-Men 97.
- 11:38At this time of airing, it'll be a couple episodes in.
- 11:40But Magneto is left the Academy in Charles's will and Magneto is like their main bad guy
- 11:48that they've been facing all these years.
- 11:50But Magneto, whose name is Eric, is actually like best friends with Charles from childhood
- 11:56and they kind of went their separate ways.
- 11:57Yeah, I remember that from the live action one.
- 12:00Yeah, how they always kind of have that like strained friendship.
- 12:04So now Magneto is trying to kind of prove to the X-Men.
- 12:07Like I'm changing, I'm going to lead the X-Men now that Charles is dead and they're all
- 12:12like, we're not sure if we trust you bro.
- 12:14We're kind of evil and we've been fighting against you for so long.
- 12:19But it's really been great.
- 12:21I'm only a couple episodes in right now, but the graphics stay really true to that 1990s
- 12:28Saturday morning cartoon vibe.
- 12:30But you can tell the budget is up, right?
- 12:33So there's amazing fight sequences, the voice cast is really solid.
- 12:38It feels nostalgic but with an extra injection of money in there.
- 12:43That's good.
- 12:44There's a lot of time.
- 12:45I think I have like continuations in a story more than like a remake.
- 12:50I think remakes make a lot of people angry.
- 12:52But that's cool to see that it just picks up and kind of continues the story.
- 12:57Yeah, it's amazing.
- 12:58Like I feel like millennial fans love it.
- 13:01Those of us who remember the cartoon from the 90s, but also new fans could probably jump
- 13:06right in here because they cover okay, our old principle of the school, our headmaster is
- 13:12dead.
- 13:13And now our headbat guy wants to take over, is being taken over from this, you know, so
- 13:20I don't know.
- 13:21I've really been enjoying it and I feel like it's a good spot for new fans to jump in and
- 13:26old fans to enjoy.
- 13:28The other thing I want to talk about briefly is a movie that I watched on Netflix called
- 13:32"Damsel."
- 13:33Ooh, I started it, but I fell asleep.
- 13:36That's not a good sign.
- 13:37I went to the Spring Training game and drunkenly ordered two pizzas and put on "Damsel"
- 13:42and stuff.
- 13:43Oh my god, I'm so hungry.
- 13:45I want a pizza right now.
- 13:48So it is a movie starring Millie Bobby Brown.
- 13:52Pop her.
- 13:53Robin Wright is also in it.
- 13:54She's a little bassist, which I didn't know, and she's pretty cool in it.
- 13:58And it is a fantasy tale, Millie Bobby Brown stars as this girl, LOD.
- 14:03LOD.
- 14:04And they call, I know, it's a weird name.
- 14:07Sorry if your name's LOD.
- 14:09And they call her Ellie and we were like, okay, L.
- 14:13All right.
- 14:14It's a blame your parents if your name is LOD.
- 14:17Yeah.
- 14:18It sounds like a Lote.
- 14:20Lote and Melody mixed together, which is kind of lovely because I love a LOD.
- 14:27Yeah, that sounds good right into you.
- 14:29I'm so happy.
- 14:30A Melody about a LOD.
- 14:31LOD.
- 14:32LOD.
- 14:33LOD.
- 14:34I love you.
- 14:35Oh, LOD.
- 14:36Okay.
- 14:37Anyway, I'm about that dark.
- 14:38I was supposed to try verse.
- 14:39The transectic actics.
- 14:40Yeah.
- 14:41It comes out so weird.
- 14:42LOD.
- 14:43I love you.
- 14:44Yeah.
- 14:45Anyway, this doesn't do nothing to do with this movie.
- 14:49So she comes from a village that is kind of destitute.
- 14:53She gets betrothed to this prince and she thinks she's going to have this charming, beautiful
- 14:59life.
- 15:00And this isn't giving anything away because it's all in the previews.
- 15:03She's kind of given up as like a sacrifice to a dragon for the well-being, what they think
- 15:08of this village she married into.
- 15:11And it's kind of, I mean, the movie is called Damsel and the plot is basically, she ain't
- 15:15no fucking Damsel.
- 15:16Yeah.
- 15:17Like, she does all of her own stunts for that movie.
- 15:20It's really impressive.
- 15:21Yeah.
- 15:22And the upper body straight, she displays throughout this movie is incredible.
- 15:27I would die.
- 15:29I would pass it.
- 15:30Yeah.
- 15:31Yeah.
- 15:32She does all of her own stunts, but I like her.
- 15:34I think she's.
- 15:35I like her too.
- 15:36She's got a pill battle with a lot of people.
- 15:38Yeah.
- 15:39But I think she's just a great person.
- 15:41And I'm like, how can you be 11 and become a movie star and not change people are very
- 15:46harsh on her?
- 15:47Literally.
- 15:48And like, let's just stop being so fucking harsh on young women anyway.
- 15:51I mean, my God, she's transitioning from being a child star to trying to be a woman in
- 15:57an actress.
- 15:58And I think she's taken on some great project so far.
- 16:01All of her projects that I've noticed that I've watched of her anyway are strongly feminist.
- 16:05It's, oh gosh, the one where she plays Sherlock Holmes sister.
- 16:08Anola Holmes.
- 16:09Yeah.
- 16:10All of her characters start with E.
- 16:12Interesting.
- 16:13For a lot of them to.
- 16:14Millie.
- 16:15Millie.
- 16:16Millie.
- 16:17I thought it was a great action. It reminded me of ever after, with Drew Berrymore back in the day. Also, it reminded me of that movie, "Ready or Not," where she marries into that family and they have to play hide and seek with some family ritual and their children remember. And, Dan also feeds into one of our previous episodes of...
- 16:40-Guff her! -Guff her!
- 16:42-Guff her!
- 16:43[Music]
- 16:46[Music]
- 16:48So, Jennifer Lopez...
- 16:51That's it, that's the whole sentence. [Laughter]
- 16:55I mean, she's having a moment right now in pop culture for better or worse.
- 17:01I feel like a couple years ago, she was... I mean, a worldwide love from her...
- 17:07Maybe not love, but at least admiration and some kind of respect from her show at the Super Bowl, where everybody said, "Oh my God, she's in her 50s. Look at that body, that's insane."
- 17:16-Amazing, yeah, that's great. -Yeah, she looks great.
- 17:19But, she's facing a bit of a downfall right now, which is of her own making and just also proof of how fast I think the public can turn against you.
- 17:31Yeah, I think to back it up a little bit for those who have been under a rock or maybe are not TikTok users, like the three of us are...
- 17:40JLo made a movie, which is called "This is Me Now."
- 17:45And it's a call back to an album she made a while back, is "This is Me Then."
- 17:51And a couple years ago when she announced she was gonna be doing this album, everyone made the joke like, "This is Me Now, 'cause it was a shanty then."
- 18:00Yeah, so a big conspiracy theory of JLo is that on all the songs that she made on her first album is actually a shanty ghost singing.
- 18:09Dude, she doesn't sing on a lot of songs.
- 18:11Yeah, on a lot of songs, she's a ghost singer.
- 18:13So JLo decides that she's going to make a movie film or a musical movie about this album, "This is Me Now."
- 18:25And also she makes, in conjunction with this, a documentary about making "This is Me Now."
- 18:33And an album.
- 18:34So it's like a three-step thing.
- 18:36She went for the Beyonce special.
- 18:38Literally, but she is not Beyonce.
- 18:40And she's playing and she funded it.
- 18:42Yeah, that's crazy to me.
- 18:44Yeah, so we watched the documentary as well.
- 18:48All of us together.
- 18:50But after watching this documentary, I had to watch the movie.
- 18:55And so with the movie, if you're not really familiar or don't want to see it, I would not recommend it.
- 19:01Yeah, do you pop this movie?
- 19:02No, absolutely not.
- 19:04But the movie is based on this Puerto Rican myth about these two, it's kind of like a Romeo and Juliet story.
- 19:11So it's kind of further.
- 19:12It's sort of so-and-out like the movie is based on this Puerto Rican myth that it's like a star-crossed Romeo and Juliet lover situation.
- 19:24And one woman gets turned into a rose and her lover to find her gets turned into a hummingbird.
- 19:30So it's a Puerto Rican myth that if you see a hummingbird, it means that they're looking for their lover.
- 19:36And that is the theme of this entire movie.
- 19:39And so she's creates this myth into the through line of this movie.
- 19:46And I'll tell you the three stories of it.
- 19:49There are the zodiacs who are all the cameos that they talk about in this documentary, which we'll talk a lot about.
- 19:56So the zodiacs are all the celebrities.
- 19:58And they're overlooking JLo's life and wondering like, why can't you see the signs?
- 20:03Then there is JLo who is playing a 28 year old.
- 20:08Oh my god.
- 20:09She's a fucking old woman.
- 20:11Does she D.A. herself?
- 20:13I don't know. I mean, she looks so good. Who knows?
- 20:16I know.
- 20:17And I'm sure there's some kind of filter going on here.
- 20:19Yeah.
- 20:20But like, yes, she scores.
- 20:21And so there's like the real storyline of her going through it in her life.
- 20:26And then there's also this weird dream sequence.
- 20:29Meanwhile, all this entire time, it is her dancing.
- 20:34And there's some lines, but it's like dancing into the music.
- 20:38And so it's all the songs from her album from the album.
- 20:40And I was trying to figure out I was like, okay, watching this movie, this is not the worst movie I've ever seen.
- 20:46The music is so bad.
- 20:50And they talk a little bit about on the documentary where they made the album.
- 20:55And then they had to reverse engineer the album into the movie.
- 21:00Oh, man.
- 21:01And I really, truly believe if she had made the movie and then made the music, it would have been better.
- 21:08It's like to the detriment of your music.
- 21:10And if you were going to present yourself as a musical artist, I don't know, maybe you would be focused.
- 21:15But that a little bit.
- 21:17It sounded like me in an Apple freaking garage band.
- 21:22Like I'm not even kidding. Like the mixing was bad.
- 21:25Of the songs, like the songs themselves were bad.
- 21:28The beats were bad.
- 21:30Like all of it was so atrocious.
- 21:33And so I don't know about you guys.
- 21:35I know we mainly watch the documentary.
- 21:37What did you think about the documentary?
- 21:39Like did it seem interesting enough?
- 21:41Like obviously people had said that it was really bad.
- 21:43But what did you guys think about the way she was telling the story and the documentary?
- 21:48I feel like you describing the musical movie is basically just a documentary.
- 21:54Yeah.
- 21:55Honestly, like the way you just described it, I'm like, I feel like I watched it.
- 22:00I remember her calling the people to be the zodiacs.
- 22:03Yeah.
- 22:04Nobody wanted to work with her.
- 22:06She called so many celebrities.
- 22:09And everyone was like, oh, they're busy that day.
- 22:12Oh, they can't do it.
- 22:13They have this commitment that day.
- 22:14And I'm like, do you not know that that's a sign that nobody wants to work with you?
- 22:18That's what I gathered is, I mean, for people kept telling her, left and right.
- 22:22This is a bad idea.
- 22:23Yeah.
- 22:24You shouldn't do this.
- 22:25And she went ahead and did it anyway and self-funded it.
- 22:28And honestly, it's getting a lot of flat.
- 22:30Like even her best friend, Jane Fonda, who I don't know if that's actually her best friend,
- 22:34but from previous clips when she got her walk of fame star, they were best friends.
- 22:38They were in that film together years ago.
- 22:40Yeah.
- 22:43And it was crazy to me about like all the people who are best friends with JLo.
- 22:45I don't know if you guys picked this up.
- 22:46They were all her employees.
- 22:48They were like, she's like my best friend.
- 22:50She's like a sister to me.
- 22:51So that felt very interesting.
- 22:54Like, I definitely think JLo will only surround herself with yes people.
- 22:59Absolutely.
- 23:00Absolutely.
- 23:01And a very common through line.
- 23:03Yeah.
- 23:04And she has, it's interesting to see that these people work for her.
- 23:06I wonder what their salaries look like to say that they're her friends and stuff like that,
- 23:10because she has a big history of being awful.
- 23:14She's staffed and to just the public like a few things that I gathered.
- 23:18So her drivers allegedly follow strict rules or they're going to be fired.
- 23:23She won't work with Virgo's.
- 23:25Yep.
- 23:26That's insane.
- 23:27Like literally refuse it.
- 23:28That's fine.
- 23:29So it wasn't lost on me that she made Kim Petra's the Virgo.
- 23:32Yep.
- 23:33Yep.
- 23:34You only transversal.
- 23:35And she's accused of being a terrible tipper and just if you're some kind of ordinary person
- 23:40around her, then she's going to treat you like shit.
- 23:43JLo is universally known as a diva, which I typically do not like because it's like, okay,
- 23:47if you stand up for yourself, you're not.
- 23:50You're a bitch.
- 23:51You know, that's very common.
- 23:52Well, there's different than being like standing up for yourself when something really
- 23:56goes wrong.
- 23:57Like, Bree Larson and when people are talking down to her for just having the audacity to
- 24:01do exist as a woman, that's different than being like not tipping people.
- 24:07Yeah.
- 24:08That's another one that I had is she refused to speak to a flight attendant who directly
- 24:13spoke to her.
- 24:14She won't acknowledge her backup singers.
- 24:16You're not allowed to look her in the eye.
- 24:19She makes her nannies work 16 hours a day.
- 24:22I watched some tick talk about a guy who worked at a movie theater in Hollywood and she wanted
- 24:28to go watch a movie.
- 24:30And she had to go through the back door because she cannot go through the front door like the
- 24:34public.
- 24:35But he's like, okay, well, the back door is where if you've ever worked in a movie theater
- 24:40or restaurant, that's where the dumpsters are.
- 24:42That's where we take the trash out.
- 24:44Yeah.
- 24:45So it's kind of sticky and smells.
- 24:46So he said the whole staff had to spend like 24 hours hosing it down and making it look
- 24:51like a red carpet and it's like pristine for JLo.
- 24:54I thought one of the funnier things was the beginning of the movie, Ben Affleck.
- 25:00Because like, what are we doing?
- 25:03Why are we having this now?
- 25:04The opening line was the irony of the greatest love story never told is that you're telling
- 25:10it.
- 25:11And they were calling him Penn Affleck because she showed all of those letters he wrote
- 25:16there in the 2000s.
- 25:19That was crazy to me.
- 25:20Dude, and I do think he was okay with all of them.
- 25:22Because being shown he seemed kind of uncomfortable.
- 25:25Ben Affleck kind of baseline seems uncomfortable at all times to be there.
- 25:30But now let's speak a little bit to Jennifer Lopez trying to seem so relatable.
- 25:36I think this is like a downfall of her brand too is I mean, she's in her 50s.
- 25:41I feel like she could be a person who kind of speaks like, yeah, this is what it's like
- 25:47to be a woman in my 50s.
- 25:48This is what I'm doing for my fitness.
- 25:50She comes across is so extravagantly.
- 26:02She wants you to feel that way.
- 26:04Exactly.
- 26:05And then it makes you feel bad about yourself.
- 26:09That's just kind of what I gather from her on social media anyway.
- 26:11Yeah.
- 26:12I also read to you that I don't know if this is true or not, but it probably is considering
- 26:16everything we've been talking about that.
- 26:19When she went back to her hometown, I believe that she was a woman who was a woman who
- 26:20I believe she grew up from the Bronx.
- 26:22- Yeah, she actually grew up in Coragloth.
- 26:24- Annie from the blah.
- 26:25She went back to her hometown and a group from her neighborhood knew she was there.
- 26:30They asked her to come back to her old-time school to help out and support it, probably
- 26:34donate some money if she could, and she just completely ignored them and did not want
- 26:39to do anything to help her old-time school.
- 26:41And I'm like, you came from absolutely nothing, and you don't want to help out in any
- 26:47way.
- 26:48- Yeah, but you're a mother.
- 26:50- Possibly can.
- 26:51- Yeah, exactly.
- 26:52- And she wants to rep the Bronx whenever it serves her.
- 26:54- Oh, yeah.
- 26:55- She wants to say Jenny from the blog, and from the Bronx, but then I saw some funny clip
- 26:59of her going to her childhood home or in the area, and she's like, I'm Jennifer Lopez.
- 27:03- I'm obsessed with that.
- 27:05I think that's the funniest thing ever.
- 27:07And she would tell she was taken aback.
- 27:08She's like, oh my god, you don't know who I am.
- 27:10- J-Lo.
- 27:11- It's me, Jenny.
- 27:12- That was a really popular clip going around right now with her taking out her extension.
- 27:18She's like, I remember when I was a little girl, and I was just so wild, and I'd take my
- 27:22hair out, and I was free.
- 27:25And she's like making this per-slip.
- 27:28Like, you know, I wish I could be her again.
- 27:32And she's talking like that.
- 27:34- Yeah.
- 27:35- She sounds like me right now, and then she goes, man, when I was a kid, I was in the Bronx,
- 27:40and you know, like, I don't know if she's performing for her.
- 27:44But for everybody in the Bronx, she's like, we don't rep you.
- 27:47- Yeah, we don't know you.
- 27:49- You rich and I'm claiming you.
- 27:50- Yeah, we don't claim you.
- 27:52- That's yeah, I mean.
- 27:54- So in the beginning of this documentary, this is one of the things that pissed me off
- 27:58the most.
- 27:59So they're going like, why do you want to do this?
- 28:02And J-Lo goes, you know, Prince is my inspiration.
- 28:08He made a movie, musical, album, of a purple brain.
- 28:13And it's like, girl, are you comparing yourself to Prince Prince?
- 28:17And she does that like multiple times throughout the documentary.
- 28:21- This self-angry.
- 28:22- What's the word I'm looking for?
- 28:24Self-aggrandization.
- 28:25- Yeah.
- 28:26- There it is.
- 28:27- And so she could care for yourself to purple rain.
- 28:29And then the next clip is, you know, Beyonce's movie didn't make anything.
- 28:33Bababla's movie didn't make anything.
- 28:36And like, no one believes in us.
- 28:37So she's producing in herself.
- 28:39And I went, you said, oh, I'm just like Prince.
- 28:41So I'm going to make this movie.
- 28:43Beyonce couldn't do it though.
- 28:44And I'm like, okay, well, Beyonce did it.
- 28:46And it was iconic.
- 28:47But they were like, no studio would pay for it.
- 28:50And it didn't make money.
- 28:51And I'm like, yeah, but that's like one of the most iconic parts about it.
- 28:54Beyonce is lemonade.
- 28:56Like exactly.
- 28:57- And it went over really well.
- 28:59But Beyonce made an amazing album.
- 29:02And then she made an amazing visual album.
- 29:05It wasn't, she made a shit album and then made up semi-good movie.
- 29:09And like throughout this whole documentary, which I thought was pretty crazy,
- 29:13is Ben Affleck is literally begging her not to do this.
- 29:18He's like, this isn't going to go well.
- 29:21Like at one point, he asked her like, what is success with this?
- 29:26Like what's the point?
- 29:27Like, when are you going to be happy with what you did?
- 29:30And she goes, just making it.
- 29:32And she says like, I want to show the world that you can do it.
- 29:36I want to make this movie so people know love exists.
- 29:40- Yeah, yeah.
- 29:41I mean, level of delusion.
- 29:43- Yeah.
- 29:44- Girl.
- 29:45- I mean, okay, listen, I'm not going to shit on somebody for going for their dreams.
- 29:52And if you a passion project, sure.
- 29:55But it's just, I mean, okay, she had what was it?
- 29:58$20 million to make this?
- 29:59- She would have $20 million of her own money.
- 30:01- Yeah.
- 30:02- But not all the money.
- 30:03- Must be nice.
- 30:04- Other people put money into it.
- 30:05- Yeah.
- 30:06Like I wish I had $20 million to do an passion project to prove that I love my husband.
- 30:09I don't know.
- 30:11And comparing herself to Beyonce and things, like we kind of alluded in the beginning,
- 30:15that J-Lo doesn't sing a lot of her own songs.
- 30:18As you mentioned earlier, Ashanti sang on "Antit Funny" and "I'm Real."
- 30:24The song play is all Christina Million.
- 30:28Ginny from the block was rumored to be sung by a woman named Natasha Raymos, who demoed
- 30:33the song and then "Ant your mama," or one of her more recent hits, "It's Megan Trainor."
- 30:39It's 100% Megan Trainor.
- 30:40- Oh wow.
- 30:41- Yeah.
- 30:42If you re-listen to that song after we record this and the entire chorus, you're like, "That's
- 30:47Megan Trainor."
- 30:48- That's Megan Trainor.
- 30:49- And their voices don't even sound similar, which is funny.
- 30:52So a lot of these people have come out and said, "Yeah."
- 30:54Either I recorded these songs first and then J-Lo recorded them over them.
- 30:59And then I'm kind of like the background vocal and not credited.
- 31:04Megan Trainor famously has written a lot of songs for other artists, but those are straight
- 31:08up her vocals on this.
- 31:10I feel like J-Lo's talented.
- 31:12I would say that she's more talented as an actress than as a singer.
- 31:15- Yes, for sure.
- 31:16- If she didn't have such a grife to prove that she could sing, she could dance, she could
- 31:21act like a dancer.
- 31:22- She's a great dancer.
- 31:23If she didn't put all of her eggs into being a really good actress, she would have done
- 31:29that.
- 31:30- I totally agree.
- 31:31- That's why when I was watching the movie, it was like, "Isn't a bad movie?
- 31:34The music is so bad."
- 31:36Like, she's dancing throughout it and it is good dancing and she's like choreographing
- 31:40it, but the music is so bad that you really can't do it.
- 31:45And she had multiple producers on that.
- 31:47- She's just like, "Girl, I don't know."
- 31:49- If you guys were in charge of J-Lo's team, what would be your advice now in order to
- 31:56kind of get her out of this hole, this cringe cycle where everyone's saying she's
- 32:00unrelatable, she's cringe, she's flaunting herself, she's rude.
- 32:07What is your, if you're in charge of her team, what do you do?
- 32:09What do you think, Nicole?
- 32:10- Give me all your money.
- 32:12No, I'm just joking.
- 32:14What is your advice to her if you're in charge of her?
- 32:17- I'd probably tell her just to kind of lay out of the, I know she's not really in the
- 32:21spotlight right now, but kind of just lay out of the spotlight.
- 32:26Just don't go out.
- 32:27I don't know.
- 32:28- Big advantage.
- 32:29- Yeah.
- 32:30- That's what I mean.
- 32:31You have your assistant.
- 32:32I know, I don't know.
- 32:33Stop chicken likes her assistant, who knows, but have your assistant go out and do stuff
- 32:37for you?
- 32:38That's what they're there for.
- 32:40Just, yeah, lay low.
- 32:41- Lay low will hold eyes down.
- 32:43- Lay low will hold eyes down.
- 32:44- Yeah.
- 32:45- Mine's polar opposite.
- 32:46Interested.
- 32:47So I say that she goes full expose on Tommy Metola and what Tommy Metola used her to get
- 32:57back at Mariah Carey for.
- 32:59Interested.
- 33:00I think she goes full warfare on Diddy.
- 33:03- Oh, there it is.
- 33:05- There it is.
- 33:06- Given everything with Diddy being rated, I think that she talks a lot, like I think she
- 33:12needs to rip the bandaid off about being an industry plant.
- 33:16And just say, here's my experience, here's how I got into the business.
- 33:20And like here's what it is.
- 33:22And because everyone knows that JLo is so fake and that's the problem.
- 33:27I think if she would talk about how she came into the industry and came from a backup dancer
- 33:33to this person who's incredibly famous because a record executive wanted to get back at
- 33:38Mariah Carey, who's his wife at the time.
- 33:40Like it is such an interesting story.
- 33:44And she's trying to address it, but in such a fake and manufactured way.
- 33:48- That's the thing is actually be real.
- 33:50- Be real.
- 33:51- Like she's creating an image right now where she's trying like, oh, I'm being so authentic
- 33:55and vulnerable.
- 33:56- But she keeps saying.
- 33:57- She's trying to figure out it that it's a meta version of her life.
- 34:01And I'm like, yeah, we don't think you understand what meta means.
- 34:04- Yeah.
- 34:05- First of all, no.
- 34:06- And then like we all see through this.
- 34:08- Exactly.
- 34:09- And actually people are making fun of her.
- 34:10- People are craving authenticity.
- 34:13And I mean, obviously celebrities do their own privacy.
- 34:18They don't need to tell us every detail of their lives.
- 34:21But if you're going to go and say like, this is me being vulnerable and like authentic.
- 34:25- This is me.
- 34:26- Be fucking vulnerable and authentic.
- 34:28- Well, I thought I was really introducing myself.
- 34:30- There's a part where like it's kind of like documentary style.
- 34:33She's wearing that black turtle neck.
- 34:36And Ben Affleck is the one asking her all of the questions.
- 34:39And it is really vulnerable.
- 34:41- Yeah.
- 34:42- And she's talking about it.
- 34:43And it's because of his questions though.
- 34:44He's like, do you forgive me for 20 years ago, 20 years ago?
- 34:50And every moment that he was interviewing her, I was like, oh, okay.
- 34:54I could like this J-Lo.
- 34:56- Yeah, I could like this fake J-Lo.
- 34:59- I think that's the thing.
- 35:00And what I would say if I was in charge of her team is show people the real you.
- 35:04Show them what it's like to you.
- 35:05Like you said, be like a woman in your 50s who's had to work through this entire industry
- 35:11and work your way up and claw for what you have.
- 35:14And I mean, show your actual skin care routine without filters if that's what you want to
- 35:19do.
- 35:20And if you really want to rep the Bronx, go and do some good things for the past.
- 35:25Go donate.
- 35:26I mean, actually get your feet in the ground.
- 35:29I mean, don't do it just for a photo up and show up for one day with your entire entourage.
- 35:36Maybe go and shake some dirty hands of the calm and the soul.
- 35:40- Make eye contact.
- 35:41- I mean, check the whole thing.
- 35:43- She did put her hands in mud.
- 35:45- Yeah.
- 35:46- Oh god.
- 35:47- The mud part was shit.
- 35:48- It needs to be thicker.
- 35:49- And it's water.
- 35:50- Good god.
- 35:51Fix my mud.
- 35:52- It made me so mad when they were like, oh, let's bring the mud over and just like, I don't
- 35:56have time.
- 35:57- Yeah.
- 35:58- I'm like, girl, what are you doing?
- 35:59You're going, probably going back home.
- 36:00- Yeah.
- 36:01- Show out.
- 36:02- You can't wait for them out.
- 36:03- Girl.
- 36:04- Yeah.
- 36:05- My servant.
- 36:06My servant.
- 36:07- Yeah.
- 36:08Pretty much.
- 36:09- Well, I hope J.Lo listens to this and gets some good advice from us.
- 36:14I think we all need to take our hair out and just run up and down the block.
