- 13:22from Washington and the surrounding counties joined the Pioneers to
- 13:25learn about and take a gaze at the stars. While
- 13:28waiting for the main activities to begin, the attendees were

- 13:34self paced activities such as coloring, creating a star map,
- 13:38learning the phases.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Of the moon, and much more. Alongside these crafts and.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Pastimes, there were plenty of space theamed snacks like moonpies,

- 13:51o'clock hour began, the executive director of the New Pioneers,
- 13:54Julia Gurr, gathered everyone to introduce the night schedule. While
- 14:00listened to the breakdown, the anticipation only grew. There were
- 14:04stations about many topics, the stars, gravities, the moon.
- 14:08Speaker 2: And meteors.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Each one had an interactive and engaging activity for participants

- 14:33Speaker 1: People that come to the event, said gir some of
- 14:36these kids are so into space. It's like, wow, they
- 14:39could be teaching these stations, and it's really cool to
- 14:42see them so excited and compassionate.
- 14:45Speaker 2: End of quotes.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Once the sun had traded places of the moon, the
- 14:49lights were turned off and all the eyes were on

- 14:55and the telescope finally had.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Its time to shine.
- 14:58Speaker 1: However, the person your showers didn't want to take all

- 15:07grew later and as community members begin to return home,
- 15:10others stayed around.
- 15:11Speaker 2: To hopefully get a glimpse of the beautiful planet known

- 15:17Speaker 1: Thirty PM, Saturn pushed past the trees and due to
- 15:20sell Sus Thompson, environmental educator and his telescope, many were able.
- 15:25Speaker 2: To see the gorgeously ringed sphere up close. Slowly, the
- 15:30evening winded down.
- 15:31Speaker 1: More and this night came to a close. Following another
- 15:34successful year, well, this event may be.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Over for this year.
- 15:37Speaker 1: There are plenty of other plans for community gatherings and
- 15:40the works. Each time there is an event, not only
- 15:44is it a chance for people to get out there
- 15:46to grow and explore, but it is something that helps
- 15:49bring the community further together.

- 16:45for it.
- 16:46Speaker 2: End of quotes.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Judge rules Nelson County Chief jeputy did not violate court
- 16:53ordered by Peter W. Zabattie Packton Media Group August thirteenth,
- 16:58twenty twenty five. The whistle lower case filed by two
- 17:02Nelson County Sheriff's detectives against their immediate supervisor took a
- 17:06different turn after a court order issued by Special Judge
- 17:09Elise Steinauer denied contempt charges against the sheriff and his
- 17:13chief deputy. In the complex case, detectives I Injustice and
- 17:18Will Purdam have filed official criminal complaints with the Kentucky
- 17:22State Police and a civil suit alleging retaliation by Sheriff
- 17:26Romon Pianora and his chief deputy, Brandon Brian. Brian is
- 17:31accused of improperly selling vehicles confiscated by the Greater Hardened
- 17:34County Narcotics Task Force, a unit that Justice and Purdam
- 17:39both served on.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Justice and Purdham later accused Brian.
- 17:44Speaker 1: And Pianora of retaliating against them by pulling them off
- 17:48the task force and cutting their overtime. Brian and Pianora
- 17:52were each indicted back in March on charges of thus

- 18:13to have no contact whatsoever with Purdham and Justice during
- 18:16the course.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Of duties with the Sheriff's office.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Captain Josh Greenwell and Detective Sergeant Brandon Peter have been
- 18:23serving as go betweens so as to prevent any contact
- 18:26involving the detectives in Pianora and Brian. In June, Brian
- 18:30alleged the Justice attempted to get him to violate spain
- 18:33Hour's order when Justice attempted to speak to Brian on
- 18:36more than one occasion at the Nelson County Sheriff's Office.
- 18:40Concerned Justice was attempting to good him, Brian filed complaints
- 18:44about the instances with Greenwell. Greenwell drafted a memos noting
- 18:49that any conversation even as simple as good morning or
- 18:52how are you, would be enough to violate the judge's order.
- 18:56Speaker 2: By the same token, Greenwell.
- 18:57Speaker 1: Instructed Justice and Purdham to avoid any direct communication with
- 19:01Brian and pi and Oream. Not long after that, Special
- 19:06prosecutor Amanda Hernandez Tapman filed contempt charges against pi and
- 19:11Oora and Brian, alleging further I'm sorry, alleging further retaliation
- 19:21against Justice. Those items were taken up in court on
- 19:24July twenty eighth, the prompting spin Hour's ruling denying Hernandez
- 19:28Trautman's motion. Speinauer noted the quote unusual situation involving trying
- 19:33to run the Nelson Sheriff's office. While Pianora and Brian
- 19:37are at odds with Justice and Purdam, Ssocratic, Greenwell was
- 19:40being in the an.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Enviable situation of being quote.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Peacekeeper and a high tension situations end of quotes. Spainhauer
- 19:51writes that there was a recorded meeting between Greenwell's heater, Justice,
- 19:54and Purdam in response to Brian's written complaint where Greenwell
- 19:58employs Justice and Purdums leave Pianoora and Brian alone, and
- 20:02that they were under a bond that prohibited any contact
- 20:05with the detectives and the potential.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Sanctions the defendants could face. Quote. Detective Justice stated that.
- 20:11Speaker 1: It was not his order, not his bond, and not
- 20:14his problem. The judge rights Detective Justice that he was
- 20:18just trying to show respect by talking to the Chief deputy.
- 20:21Both detectives indicated they considered this whole situation ridiculous.
- 20:25Speaker 2: End of quote.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Essentially, they now are writes that Justice displayed a quote complete.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Lack of understanding.
- 20:32Speaker 1: End of quote that someone who had been indicted because
- 20:35of the testimony of another quote may not want to
- 20:38hear one word from the person.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Responsible in great part.
- 20:41Speaker 1: For the indictment end of quote, specifically because of the
- 20:45resentment Brian may feel in terms of public humiliation and
- 20:48the threat to his career, retirement and the possibility of
- 20:53jail time and expensive legal deals. While Hernandez Trautman viewed
- 20:57Greenwell's memo and complaint by Brian to fall under the
- 21:01umbrella of contempt of court, spain Hower notes that this
- 21:04would be the only way to document any office situations
- 21:08that may arise between Justice and Brian.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Spainower also lives in her order that she.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Doesn't understand why Purdham and Pianora was even involved in
- 21:18the contempt motion since the indictment in question involved Justice
- 21:23in Brian. And now we will turn to some obituaries
- 21:29from the area.
- 21:33Speaker 2: William Corky Yankee eighty nine, of Springfield.
