- 0:56Speaker 1: us each day as Richard shares from God's Word with notes, quotes,
- 1:00Speaker 1: and stories along with some of his own personal experiences,
- 1:03Speaker 1: to confirm for you God's great love for us, that
- 1:06Speaker 1: his compassion for us never fails, and that he has
- 1:08Speaker 1: a great faithfulness toward us in every regard. In Lamentations
- 1:12Speaker 1: Chapter three, verses twenty two and twenty three, we read,
- 1:16Speaker 1: because of the Lord's great love, we are not consumed,
- 1:20Speaker 1: for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Great is your faithfulness. Now, if you miss a portion
- 1:27Speaker 1: of today's broadcast or would like to recommend it to
- 1:29Speaker 1: a friend, you can hear this program anytime online at
- 1:33Speaker 1: Talknetwork Radio dot com. Well, now here's Richard with today's reflection.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Agreed, Then, in this manner, our Father, who's in heaven,
- 1:45Speaker 2: hallowed be your name, your Kingdom. Come. Your will be
- 1:51Speaker 2: done on earth as it is in heaven Matthew six,
- 1:57Speaker 2: verses nine through ten. As we continue in our series
- 2:03Speaker 2: seven Keys to Christian Living, the first key and probably
- 2:09Speaker 2: the most important is to recognize who the provider of
- 2:15Speaker 2: the keys are, and how do we actually understand who
- 2:24Speaker 2: the giver of the kingdom is exalt God's name. In
- 2:34Speaker 2: Matthew chapter six and verses nine to ten, Jesus is
- 2:39Speaker 2: instructing those that he is teaching, and he tells them
- 2:46Speaker 2: pray in this way our Father, who is in heaven,
- 2:53Speaker 2: hallowed be your name. Now to exalt God's name has
- 3:01Speaker 2: a particular significance in understanding the keys of the kingdom.
- 3:08Speaker 2: First of all, the Psalmist says, Oh, magnify the Lord
- 3:14Speaker 2: with me, and let us lift up his name together,
- 3:18Speaker 2: from Psalm thirty four, verse three. You know in this
- 3:23Speaker 2: particular passage this was used by ancient rabbis, as they
- 3:29Speaker 2: applied this verse specifically to the saying of grace after
- 3:36Speaker 2: a meal, and they instituted the practice of zimon invitation
- 3:44Speaker 2: as a religious duty for three or more men who
- 3:49Speaker 2: had eaten together. Notice they had already eaten. They were
- 3:56Speaker 2: to invite one another to say the blessing. One then
- 4:02Speaker 2: said the blessing. The others were required to say am
- 4:06Speaker 2: in in voices no louder than that of the speaker
- 4:12Speaker 2: of the blessing based on the Word together. It was
- 4:18Speaker 2: also taught that all of the participants in the blessing
- 4:23Speaker 2: received a reward from God. The Psalmist also wrote in
- 4:30Speaker 2: the sixty ninth Song, verse thirty, I will praise God's
- 4:36Speaker 2: name with psalm and exalt him with thanksgiving. He also
- 4:43Speaker 2: wrote in Psalm one five, in verse one, I exalt you,
- 4:49Speaker 2: my God, the King, and praise your name forever and ever.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Do you know in being a to understand the keys
- 5:02Speaker 2: to the kingdom of heaven. Exalting God's name puts us
- 5:10Speaker 2: in the correct posture for being able to use the keys.
- 5:19Speaker 2: As we exalt God's name, we actually bring his presence
- 5:27Speaker 2: into this earth. You see, Jesus was using the same
- 5:34Speaker 2: statement when he said you must exalt when you pray,
- 5:42Speaker 2: you recognize how holy God is. Hallowed be your name.
- 5:54Speaker 2: And in the statement, the request is not that it
- 6:00Speaker 2: is one of personal achievement, but one of rendering God's
- 6:07Speaker 2: purpose in what he says, as it is written, Thy
- 6:14Speaker 2: Kingdom Come, Thy will be done on earth as it
- 6:21Speaker 2: is in heaven. It is more understanding the holiness of
- 6:29Speaker 2: God that ushers in His kingdom. You see, without being
- 6:38Speaker 2: able to see God's holiness, we cannot exalt his name together.
- 6:49Speaker 2: God's holiness is demonstrated in his son, because in his
- 6:58Speaker 2: son is demonstrated all of the will of the Father.
- 7:07Speaker 2: As we look at this, we recognize that exalting God's
- 7:12Speaker 2: name is one of the unlocking principles to the kingdom
- 7:20Speaker 2: and the use of the keys of the kingdom. Remember
- 7:27Speaker 2: pray in this way, our Father, who is in heaven,
- 7:33Speaker 2: hallowed be your name. From Matthew chapter six, verse nine.
- 7:43Speaker 2: As we look at these seven keys, we must bring
- 7:49Speaker 2: ourself into a position where we approach God in his holiness,
- 8:00Speaker 2: recognizing we're not worthy to stand in front of him.
- 8:06Speaker 2: But because of the sacrifice made by his only son,
- 8:14Speaker 2: the Messiah, Jesus the Christ, we are able to truly
- 8:23Speaker 2: exalt his name. It is no longer just to practice.
- 8:30Speaker 2: It is a life principle.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Richard will be right back in a moment to wrap up.
- 8:37Speaker 1: But if you've just joined us, you've been listening to
- 8:39Speaker 1: Reflections on the Word with Richard k. You can hear

- 9:03Speaker 1: which is published by Homan Bible Publishers in Nashville, Tennessee.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Additional resources used for reflections on the Word with Richard
- 9:10Speaker 1: K include Great Is Thy Faithfulness? By Our Daily Breadth
- 9:14Speaker 1: and printed by Discovery House Publishers. Again, here is Richard
- 9:19Speaker 1: to wrap up today's message.
- 9:22Speaker 2: We live to exalt God's name? Do you exalt God's
- 9:28Speaker 2: name in every facet of your life? I certainly pray
- 9:36Speaker 2: that we learn together what it means to approach God
- 9:43Speaker 2: in his holiness because we are able to approach Him
- 9:52Speaker 2: due to this sacrifice made by His son. It is
- 9:59Speaker 2: by his precious blood that we can enter into the
- 10:06Speaker 2: holy presence of God, because God no longer views us
- 10:13Speaker 2: as sinners, but he looks upon us as his sons
- 10:21Speaker 2: and daughters. Why because the price has been paid, and
- 10:28Speaker 2: now the sacrifice has been accepted and we can approach
- 10:35Speaker 2: the throne of His grace with boldness. It is an
- 10:42Speaker 2: amazing transforming power that begins in exalting God's name. I
- 10:54Speaker 2: exalt you my God, the King, and praise your name
- 11:01Speaker 2: forever and ever. And that is two day's Reflection on
- 11:10Speaker 2: the Word.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Thank you, Richard. Join us again tomorrow when we continue
- 11:16Speaker 1: with the next edition of Reflections on the Word with
