Transcript
- 0:00Hey everyone, you're listening to the Curt Landry podcast where we're going to help you
- 0:08discover your kingdom destiny.
- 0:11My name is Darrell and sitting right beside me is Rabbi Curt Landry.
- 0:15And in this episode, we're going to be discussing why we stand and why you should stand with
- 0:21Israel.
- 0:22But before we jump into this episode, Rabbi, how was your weekend?
- 0:26Oh, man, it's been great.
- 0:28You know, this is an interesting time of year in Oklahoma.
- 0:32Of course, it's cold, but I can tell you that the whole snow, they call this area of Oklahoma,
- 0:41call it green country.
- 0:42And of course, it is very green here most of the year.
- 0:46But it's just, it's almost, I don't know, it's like everything changes when the snow
- 0:53falls.
- 0:54And the lake is steaming because of the temperature of the water compared to the air and everything's
- 1:01covered in white.
- 1:02It's beautiful.
- 1:03So I, you know, there's a certain amount of, I don't like the cold weather particularly,
- 1:09but I sure is beautiful, at least for a short period of time, have the fire and it's a great
- 1:13atmosphere to cook spaghetti sauce in.
- 1:16I can tell you that.
- 1:18Yeah.
- 1:19Nathan told me earlier that this is like a day or so ago.
- 1:23It was the coldest day recorded in Tulsa history.
- 1:27So it is very frigid for sure around this part of Oklahoma in this time of year.
- 1:33So Rabbi, as we jump into this, you know, one thing that we want to kind of lead with
- 1:38is that if you got questions, you can send it over to podcasts at curtlandry.com.
- 1:44Anything you want to send, go ahead and send it to us.
- 1:46It could be topic of conversation.
- 1:48You know, if it's prayer requests, things that we can pray into, things and titles and
- 1:55descriptions and I mean, anything you want to send over, it's just over a podcast at
- 1:59curtlandry.com.
- 2:01Another thing that I want to remind people, you can get your free download for Goals to
- 2:06Grow.
- 2:07Just go to curtlandry.com forward slash goals 2024.
- 2:12We'll put those two links in this episode's show notes description.
- 2:17So Rabbi, this episode, it's going to be titled something like Why We Stand With Israel, but
- 2:26the question that I started us off with, and I'll just ask it to you and then we can break
- 2:31it down, but it's as simple as why do we stand and why should you, the listener, stand with
- 2:41Israel?
- 2:42So like, let's start from a real base level biblical understanding of this question.
- 2:46Okay, so let's do something a little different.
- 2:48I'm going to spring something on you, Teru.
- 2:51Okay.
- 2:52Okay.
- 2:53So let me ask you a couple questions.
- 2:58You know your Bible.
- 2:59So okay, God created man.
- 3:04Okay, Adam and Eve.
- 3:07Adam and Eve, what happened?
- 3:08They fell, right?
- 3:10Yeah.
- 3:11So what happened is the covenant with God, God gave them authority over everything.
- 3:19Covenant is broken and they're cast out of the garden.
- 3:22So would you agree with that?
- 3:23Yeah.
- 3:24Okay.
- 3:25So now, okay, now God has to restore covenant.
- 3:31So when he restores covenant, he restores covenant with the man named Abram, right?
- 3:37Okay, so when Abram, when he restores it, Abram obviously becomes Abraham.
- 3:42And when his name is changed to Abraham from Abram means the father of many nations.
- 3:48Okay.
- 3:49But he also became the first Jew.
- 3:53So he was circumcised.
- 3:59He tithed to this king, priest, Melchizedek, and basically the restoration of covenant
- 4:10authority of the garden was restored to Abraham and his seed.
- 4:18Okay, would you agree with that?
- 4:20Yes.
- 4:21Okay.
- 4:22So now, the reason I'm asking this is because people have to understand that when Jesus
- 4:27Christ hung on the cross, he hung on the cross as a covenant act.
- 4:32It was a covenant act to restore all the nations.
- 4:37But in the covenant restoration story, God gave all authority to Adam.
- 4:44He failed and now he's going to restore it and he goes to Abram.
- 4:50So now if you go to Genesis chapter 12 verse 1, it says, now the Lord said to Abram, get
- 4:56out of the country from your family and from your father's house to a land I will show
- 5:03you.
- 5:04Now this is the actual land of Israel.
- 5:06I will make you a great nation and I will bless you.
- 5:11I will make your name great and you shall be a blessing.
- 5:15Now understand Abram is already a wealthy guy.
- 5:18He already has a great name and God is now speaking this to him.
- 5:23And in Genesis 12 3, it says, I will bless those who bless you, who's blessing Abraham,
- 5:29this Jewish guy, the first Jew, and I will curse those who curse you.
- 5:34So that's the main issue here is that blessing and cursing on the earth is determined and
- 5:40most people struggle with this, but listen, this is how it works.
- 5:47God blesses those who bless his choice and curses those who reject his choice.
- 5:54And he says, and all the families of the earth shall be blessed through this blessing of
- 5:59Abraham.
- 6:01And it's a difficult concept, but what people need to understand, God had to restore covenant.
- 6:08So now if you go to 2 Chronicles 7 14, it says, if my people who are called by my name
- 6:17will humble themselves and pray, I will hear from heaven and I will heal their land.
- 6:23So what's happening?
- 6:24Who is the spirit of the Lord speaking to?
- 6:26The Jewish people.
- 6:28That's why when you have 2 Chronicles 7 14, you need to have repentive Jews in the mix
- 6:34along with the Gentiles.
- 6:37So now the next major covenant act in the Bible goes to Jesus Christ.
- 6:44Jesus Christ comes, he's the Son of God, he is God incarnate on earth, and he is the
- 6:49seed of David.
- 6:50He is in the lineage of Abraham through the seed of David.
- 6:56And so now he dies, he at Passover, he is the lamb of God who takes away the sins of
- 7:02the earth.
- 7:03But then he opens it up to all the nations because all the families, they were separated
- 7:09from the commonwealth of Israel.
- 7:11They were strangers to the promise.
- 7:13But Jesus said, all who call on my name shall be saved.
- 7:17So now the Gentiles, the non-Jewish people, have access to God's covenant.
- 7:22So the reason that we bless Israel is because it is our root.
- 7:28It is where we come from.
- 7:31In common sense, you cannot curse the root of a plant, a tree, or a person and expect
- 7:38to be blessed.
- 7:40So you bless the root and you get to eat the fruit.
- 7:45So here's a different question in perspective versus reality.
- 7:51So like one thing that I probably do too much of, and my wife Morgan would agree that I
- 7:58use terminology like, well, perception of this versus the actual reality.
- 8:03But for me, on how I conceive and break down scenarios, I use this a lot.
- 8:12And so I want to use one for saying the question and the thought process behind this is that
- 8:20I've been to a lot of different types of churches in senses of denominations.
- 8:29Obviously about two years ago, we came on here full time and moved to Oklahoma and started
- 8:35working for Curt Landry Ministries.
- 8:37But I think one thing that, I mean, some listeners might disagree with me, but most of the churches
- 8:44that I've been to and attended, some that I would say would be very healthy and
- 8:50some that would not be, and they would be on one side of the denominational side, that
- 8:59they don't really mention in their Sunday to Sunday or Wednesday to small group time,
- 9:06whatever you want to do that, they don't really mention too much about blessing Israel and
- 9:13about doing aid to Israel.
- 9:16And the ones that do kind of mention it here and there will have, like they'll do partnerships
- 9:22and projects to do, say, this one thing, and then you don't really hear about it.
- 9:28Why do you think that is?
- 9:30Because to me, I think it's pretty common.
- 9:32And I think a lot of people listening to this podcast will probably have a lot of experiences
- 9:37in different churches and stuff that would probably say the perception versus reality
- 9:42is that unfortunately, it's probably too much reality that there's just too many churches
- 9:48and too many pastors and leaders that don't preach in the sense of, hey, this is something
- 9:56we've got to do and like this needs to be a focus.
- 9:58Why do you think that is?
- 10:00Well, the root of it comes from traditional separation of the church from its Jewish roots,
- 10:09which happened 1700 years ago with Constantine.
- 10:14So you have a ruler in Rome who's wanting to overthrow the world and his problem is he
- 10:19can overthrow most of the world with different gods, but he can't overthrow the Jewish people
- 10:25because these monolithic people who believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, their
- 10:31traditions, their calendar, and all these things, not only does it keep him blessed,
- 10:37but here's the key, Darrell, it keeps him with this identity.
- 10:40And so what he has to do, if you're going to control people, you have to change their
- 10:43identity and he couldn't change the Jewish identity.
- 10:47And now the early church from the time of Jesus' resurrection up until this Constantine
- 10:53period was a messianic, one new man, Hebraic church, followed the Jewish calendar and interpreted
- 11:03scripture through a Jewish filter.
- 11:06And when Constantine comes and passes a law, makes it illegal to celebrate Passover, illegal
- 11:12for Shabbat, illegal to even have circumcision, all these types of things, he was trying to
- 11:18separate the people from, no, we're going to have this Roman Catholic type situation.
- 11:26And really what he was attacking was the identity.
- 11:29And so from that came a theology called replacement theology, where different theologians started
- 11:37teaching that the blessings that you read about in the Abrahamic covenant that I just
- 11:43read were only given, since the Jews, quote, killed Jesus, which they didn't, every sinner
- 11:50on the earth killed Jesus, he died for our sins.
- 11:53But let's take this narrative, the Jews killed Jesus, so they forfeit their covenant promise
- 12:02and anti-Semitism arises.
- 12:04And then the next thing that happens is the church has replacement theology and they start
- 12:09translating and there's commentary all over the place with the church is now the Israel
- 12:15of God.
- 12:16And the problem that you have with that when you read the prophets is the prophets are
- 12:21very specific about real estate and boundaries in the promised land.
- 12:25And so how in the world do all the Christians and all the different denominations actually
- 12:30possess the covenant God made with Abraham in regards to the boundaries?
- 12:34I mean, they wouldn't even fit in the boundaries of Israel.
- 12:38So obviously the land and the people have a covenant and we are grafted in healthy,
- 12:45as Christians were grafted into that according to Romans 11.
- 12:49But it's interesting that Paul, even back then, before the Constantine period, he said,
- 12:56I desire that you be not ignorant of this mystery, that blindness in part happened to
- 13:00the Jewish people until the fullness of the Gentiles have come.
- 13:04I think that the reason most churches don't preach about it, they don't understand it,
- 13:10most theological seminaries do not teach it or preach it.
- 13:15And the reason that I, well, first of all, it's my calling to preach it, but my motivation
- 13:21is, listen, I was an orphan.
- 13:23I was conceived out of wedlock.
- 13:25I didn't know my biological parents.
- 13:27At 36, I get saved.
- 13:29At 37, I get reconnected to my biological father.
- 13:33I find out I have a Jewish mother.
- 13:35And so what happened is I was adopted, but then I got grafted in back into my actual
- 13:41biological life through my understanding who my biological father and mother.
- 13:50That brought so much fullness to me at 37.
- 13:53You have no idea.
- 13:54But the same thing, I just equated that into my born-again experience.
- 13:58So when I read the Bible and I read about Abraham and I read about Nehemiah and I read
- 14:03about Isaiah, these are brothers to me because I'm Jewish.
- 14:09There's no separation from me, but people who are non-Jewish and are born again, you
- 14:14are part of the household of faith.
- 14:16You are part of the seed of Abraham through faith.
- 14:20And that's the reason I preach this message.
- 14:22The big thrust of why I do this for 33 years is this, is as someone who comes from a corporate
- 14:30behavioral-trained background, you can equip people all you want with positive motivation
- 14:37in their purpose, and they will excel.
- 14:42But at some point, they'll burn out.
- 14:44If you don't want to burn out, then what you have to do is find your spiritual identity
- 14:49that creates your purpose, which creates your destiny.
- 14:53Supernatural inheritance starts to be released in your life, and then you can leave a legacy.
- 14:57So you don't burn out.
- 14:59So I'm 68 years old.
- 15:00I'm in ministry all these years.
- 15:02I'm probably more on fire for what I do right now at 68 than I was when I was, let's say,
- 15:0938.
- 15:10And the reason is, is because my identity and my purpose are married together as one.
- 15:15So I understand, I don't waste time doing something that somebody else is supposed to
- 15:19do.
- 15:20It's identity-driven.
- 15:22And so for every Christian, I would recommend that you go buy my book, Reclaiming Our Forgotten
- 15:27Heritage, understand the journey of finding identity.
- 15:31And the reason that I think people should find their identity is because your identity
- 15:36will release the synergy with your creative nature in God.
- 15:42And that is absolutely a key.
- 15:46And it's very important, particularly in this world of anti-Semitism right now.
- 15:52If you think about it, look at Harvard University, which was a Christian university, and here
- 15:57they are allowing pro-Palestinian anti-Semitic activity and not even understanding that it's
- 16:04evil.
- 16:06So what happened is they lost their roots.
- 16:09Harvard University and that leadership is they may be Christian in name, but they're
- 16:14not in spirit because it says right here, it says, I will curse those who curse you.
- 16:21So what you're doing is it's important to remember where we came from.
- 16:26And we are a Jew, our nation, the United States of America, is a Judeo-Christian nation founded
- 16:34on a constitutional republic that has a constitution that is grounded and founded in biblical Judeo
- 16:44principles.
- 16:45That's how this country was founded.
- 16:47That's how this country is being blessed.
- 16:49And the enemies of this country know if they want to overthrow it, they have to uproot
- 16:54us and plant us in something else.
- 16:57And once we lose our identity, and it's not going to happen, I'll tell you right now.
- 17:01But anyway, they're going to take a pretty good shot at it.
- 17:04That's why this message and this podcast and our ministry is important to me is to let
- 17:09them know that we are the seed of Abraham grafted in, whether you're Jew or Gentile.
- 17:18Podcast at curtlandrew.com, send your questions to us there.
- 17:22It's going to go straight to our inbox.
- 17:24Just make sure you put something in the title and subject line.
- 17:28Rabbi, I can't say that enough how many times we're going to get emails and ones that have
- 17:33come in that don't have anything in the title or subject line, and they just go to the place
- 17:40where emails go.
- 17:42That happens.
- 17:44It's kind of hard to thumb through it.
- 17:45So just make sure you do that.
- 17:47Also, if you want to find out how you can stand with us and stand with Israel, you can
- 17:53go to curtlandrew.com forward slash stand with Israel.
- 17:57Of course, we'll have all the links in the show notes of this episode.
- 18:02So Rabbi, I want to kind of transition to the thought that let's say we have some spiritual
- 18:11leaders listening to this podcast.
- 18:13We have some pastors listening.
- 18:15We have some preachers, and they want to know, I want to say technique, but like a couple
- 18:23different ideas maybe, right, on how they can implement this biblical truth of standing
- 18:32with Israel, blessing Israel into their messaging, into their church culture.
- 18:39What's a couple tips that you have for those?
- 18:42I think probably sharing Jesus in a way that they understand that this is a Jewish rabbi.
- 19:00I think that they have to understand that Jesus Christ of Nazareth, first of all, His
- 19:07real name is Yeshua.
- 19:11The letter J wasn't even a letter until several hundred years ago.
- 19:19So like if you're talking to a learned Hebraic, like a Jewish guy or an Arab, and you say
- 19:27Jesus, and I've had this happen, so I'm just sharing, they'll say, well, that can't be
- 19:33His name.
- 19:34It didn't even have J's until whenever, you know?
- 19:38And I say, I know, but His name is Yeshua, like Yah-she-wah, like Joshua, and then they
- 19:43all know what that is.
- 19:46So again, you need to understand that you're looking at Jesus.
- 19:51He is a circumcised, Sabbath-keeping, feast-keeping rabbi, and they called Him rabbi.
- 20:01And I think that when you hear Him say these words, like how He's going to judge the whole
- 20:06world, He says, when you do it unto the least of these, my brethren, the Jewish people,
- 20:10you do it unto me.
- 20:11I said, what did we do?
- 20:14Like when I was hungry, you fed me.
- 20:15That's why we do humanitarian aid.
- 20:18You know, one of the patterns that I followed as a businessman, listen, the Lord revealed
- 20:22this to me in the early 90s.
- 20:24And so I went to my business partners.
- 20:26I was in the fruit business at the time, and I said, man, look at this in the book of Acts.
- 20:29It says, we are to be witnesses first in Judea, Samaria, and then all ends of the earth, Jerusalem,
- 20:35Judea, Samaria.
- 20:36And I said, we should follow that pattern.
- 20:38So we started actually sowing seed as fruit brokers into Jerusalem, then Judea and Samaria.
- 20:45And we still do it to this day, Curt Lander Ministries.
- 20:48We have safe houses and Holocaust survivors and lone soldiers' houses in Jerusalem.
- 20:54We support the city of Me'el D'Amin, which is Judea and Samaria.
- 20:58We plant trees.
- 20:59We take care of their security there and their safe houses in that city.
- 21:05We work in all these places.
- 21:08We plant trees.
- 21:09And then, you know, we work in Africa.
- 21:11We just got done taking care of 500 orphans in Kenya.
- 21:14So the pattern of our seed sowing is Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and all ends of the earth.
- 21:20So to answer your question, I think that I would speak about Jesus and His identity as
- 21:26a Jew.
- 21:28And what did He ask us to do?
- 21:30He asks us to be a witness for Him.
- 21:33And the Scripture is very clear, it's to the Jew first.
- 21:36So I don't know if that's too deep, but no, no.
- 21:40So let's take it from this angle.
- 21:43For people listening that want to spread and tell their friends and family about this,
- 21:51right?
- 21:52How would you go about them if you had a little piece of advice on how to introduce it and
- 21:58kind of back up maybe with a little piece of Scripture for them?
- 22:01Okay, I would do just listen, one of the things that happens, and I've watched it, you know,
- 22:08I've been doing this 33 years now.
- 22:13Like myself, when I first discovered my Jewish roots, and a lot of people do, they go nuts.
- 22:20And what happens is the people who haven't had the experience think, oh my gosh, you're
- 22:24Judaizing me.
- 22:26Or you know, you've become a Jew.
- 22:28What's the matter with you, you crazy?
- 22:30You know, I mean, literally, I get it, I get it.
- 22:33It happened to me, and it happens to a lot of people.
- 22:35So I would just say, first of all, you just need to understand that the, listen, I work
- 22:42with First Nations people.
- 22:45I'm actually an ordained peace chief with the First Nations tribes.
- 22:49So one of the biggest things that I share with them when I share with the Jewish roots
- 22:54with them is that you're not going to cease being native because you're following the
- 22:59Jewish roots.
- 23:02And the reason it's important, they need to know that God honors the indigenous people
- 23:08as being Indians.
- 23:10There's no shame in that.
- 23:12They don't get saved and become Jews.
- 23:14And the reason that's so important, if you look at the history, what happened with the
- 23:17missionaries when they came to the Indians, they said, okay, now that you're a Christian,
- 23:23cut your hair, lose the language, change these clothes, put on this.
- 23:28And so what happened is it was shaming them to say, okay, if you're going to be a Christian,
- 23:32you're not good enough as an Indian.
- 23:34You've got to become a Christian.
- 23:35Here's your clothes and here's your language and all that.
- 23:38And it's left a deep wound in the people.
- 23:41But the same thing has happened with Jewish people.
- 23:43Like, if you become a Christian, you've got to quit doing the feasts.
- 23:47You don't have to do Shabbat and all those types of things.
- 23:51So I think the key is when a Gentile discovers the Jewish roots of the faith, you don't
- 23:56have to become Jewish.
- 23:57You can still be a good Gentile and observe Shabbat, celebrate the feast.
- 24:03And when you're sharing it with people, you need to share the fruit of the blessing of
- 24:06it for the fulfillment of finding your own identity.
- 24:09And it draws you into more intimacy by the Holy Spirit to find Christ.
- 24:15And allow the fruit of that to be there and that you're not Judaizing people.
- 24:20You're not telling people, it's never good to go to somebody and say, you know what,
- 24:25you're not good enough the way you're doing it and now you need to do it my way.
- 24:30That's a very poor, socially dysfunctional way to evangelize.
- 24:37So another resource that we have is another podcast.
- 24:41It's called Generations at the Table with Megan Marcelino.
- 24:46Probably somewhere in this episode, you've probably heard an ad for it.
- 24:50As we're having this discussion, it's an awesome podcast with Megan.
- 24:56She teaches powerful message of faith and the teachings that come with that, that link
- 25:03everything from the Jewish roots in Christianity and how that can actually be so impactful
- 25:08for your walk with the Father.
- 25:10And so just search Generations at the Table.
- 25:14You can find that wherever you listen to podcasts.
- 25:16It's also the first podcast on the One New Man Network.
- 25:21So Rabbi, what's...
- 25:26Let's say that someone is now into a position to where they want to sow into the projects
- 25:36that we have, that we're currently doing.
- 25:41Why should they consider that?
- 25:46And then anybody listening, again, in the show notes, curtlandry.com forward slash stand
- 25:50with Israel, you can see what we're doing with that current campaign for the war efforts
- 25:54in Israel.
- 25:55But what would you tell someone that, hey, search your heart.
- 26:04Financially you have an opportunity to bless Israel.
- 26:09Why should they bless Israel through Curtlandry Ministries?
- 26:16First of all, if the Holy Spirit's leading you to give to us, that would be the first
- 26:22thing.
- 26:23Listen, I have people all the time.
- 26:25I've had people come with large checks and people say, you know, they don't even know
- 26:31me.
- 26:32I don't know them.
- 26:33And they'll say, yeah, the Lord told me to give you your ministry $25,000.
- 26:39And I'm going, okay.
- 26:43It's very reassuring to me.
- 26:45So you have to ask yourself, why would the Holy Spirit do that?
- 26:48Listen, Steve Schultz was on the air with me at Elijah List.
- 26:53And so, you know, I was talking to him about what we were doing in Israel and it was probably
- 26:58like two minutes into the conversation on the phone and Christie was...
- 27:02We were on speaker and we're friends for years and years.
- 27:05And he said, okay.
- 27:06He said, oh, wow, Kurt, oh, I'm going to give you 50 grand.
- 27:09I said, well, great, praise God.
- 27:11So then we went another few minutes and he said, no, I'm going to give you 100 grand.
- 27:16And I said, Steve, I feel like an auctioneer here.
- 27:18Let's talk longer.
- 27:19Okay, 150, 150, 150.
- 27:20And he's joking because we're friends.
- 27:22Okay.
- 27:23But anyway, he did.
- 27:24He ended up giving several hundred thousand dollars and like his ministry...
- 27:30Why did he do that?
- 27:31Because he understands the principle of what I just said.
- 27:35He wanted the blessing of blessing Israel.
- 27:37He also trusts us.
- 27:38So why would Steve Schultz of the Elijah List do that?
- 27:40Okay, he's known me 25 years and this is the reason.
- 27:45If you give designated funds to go to Israel, listen, in 35 days we delivered...
- 27:53In 30 days we delivered $975,000.80 or something, the exact amount Bob was telling me.
- 28:04You know how Bob is.
- 28:05All right, $0.80.
- 28:06Well, praise God for that.
- 28:07But anyway, in 35 days, over a million dollars delivered.
- 28:11Now, why is that important?
- 28:13First of all, the war effort, the things were urgent, but the fact that Sam and our team
- 28:17can actually physically pick up a million dollars worth the bulletproof helmets, bulletproof
- 28:25vest, the special lights that they need, the special medical bandages that coagulate blood
- 28:34from surface wounds and all that type of stuff.
- 28:38I mean, expensive stuff.
- 28:41Food for the soldiers.
- 28:44The reservists that came didn't have the right food, boots, boots and gloves.
- 28:50Then they didn't have the right uniforms, special, like the uniforms, coats, it goes
- 28:56on and on and on.
- 28:57All this stuff, personal care items, toothbrush brushes, it's like deodorant, battery packs
- 29:07to keep their phone solar charged so that they can call home to their family.
- 29:11They've been separated from them for 30 days.
- 29:13All that stuff, whatever it is they needed, other stuff I can't talk about.
- 29:18But whatever, listen, these commanders are like my sons and they've known me and they
- 29:23ask me and I say yes.
- 29:25But the thing is, if you give $100, then that $100 goes to that project.
- 29:30No different than, I'll give you an example.
- 29:34Like for us, we have a program we've been doing for about 12 years and you met the kids,
- 29:38it's called Bridge to Independence, where we take care of kids when they age out of
- 29:43the social programs in Israel at 18, at the end of 18 when they turn 19, then they're
- 29:50out on the street.
- 29:52So they're out of the foster program that they have in Israel.
- 29:57They don't call it that.
- 29:59So anyway, we started a program 12 years called Bridge to Independence, where we take care
- 30:03of them from 19 to 24.
- 30:06So I always tell people, listen, if you have an identity problem, and this is a biblical
- 30:11principle I've used, sow to what you need.
- 30:15Okay, you need your identity in the Lord, enhanced, sow into these kids.
- 30:22It's critical.
- 30:24Listen, we've interviewed these kids.
- 30:26The first interview I ever did with this one young girl, I called her Mighty Mouse, and
- 30:30I asked her, I said, if you didn't have the Bridge to Independence program, you didn't
- 30:34have our apartment that we have in Jerusalem, where would you be?
- 30:40And she just looked at me and she said, I'd be dead.
- 30:45And what she was saying is, I would have committed suicide.
- 30:49So man, this is serious.
- 30:52So if you sow a seed into the safe house program, then what you're doing is you sow the seed
- 30:57and then you say this, Father God, I am sowing the seed into the apple of God's eye.
- 31:01I'm sowing a seed unto the least of these, his brethren that they have four year program
- 31:07in a safe house with, so to say, like adoptive parents and supervision and mentors.
- 31:15And we provide for them to be able to grow up in an accountability and a place to make
- 31:20good decisions to become good adults.
- 31:22And Lord, that's what I need.
- 31:23I want to be a mature Christian.
- 31:25I want to function.
- 31:27So I'm going to bless Israel in a special way.
- 31:29I'm going to sow into these young men and women that they find their way so I can find
- 31:34my way.
- 31:35It's probably if you, if the Lord, if you'll sow to where you need to grow, God always
- 31:41pours out abundant blessing.
- 31:44And we'll be right back.
- 31:46It's a new year and a new you.

- 35:22Rabbi, as we kind of transition towards the end of this podcast, what's your prayer for
- 35:32people listening to really gain from the education of this podcast?
- 35:42It's super in-depth.
- 35:43I mean, like, you know, he went straight historian on me, which you have to, to understand why
- 35:50the landscape is and the messaging and the vibes now in churches that we know it in 2024.
- 35:58But what's that prayer for the listener, people listening to this podcast on what they can
- 36:06take away from this episode?
- 36:10Well first of all, if you are trying to find yourself, please order my book, Reclaiming
- 36:18Our Forgotten Heritage.
- 36:20Okay, and just read it.
- 36:24It was a work of love.
- 36:25Megan and I wrote it.
- 36:30And the reason I'm sharing that with you is I'm going to give you just a story.
- 36:35I like to tell stories so you understand where I'm coming from.
- 36:38My adoptive father, Ray Landry, he used to say things to me like this.
- 36:43He'd go like, in regards to food, I like to cook, I'm a foodie, he's not.
- 36:49And Ray used to say, Curtis, I don't know where you get this from.
- 36:54And because, you know, I'm not his DNA.
- 36:57I don't know where you get this.
- 36:59And I'd say, and I didn't know, but when I was 37, just saved a year in the Lord, the
- 37:06Lord miraculously reconnected me to my biological father, Joe McKay.
- 37:12And when I met him, I all of a sudden knew, oh my gosh, literally, I was in a cafe in
- 37:21Palm Beach, Florida, and I'm sitting there, it was all glass.
- 37:26I'm looking out in the parking lot.
- 37:29And here comes my biological father.
- 37:31I've never seen him before.
- 37:33And I see this guy drive up.
- 37:34He's in a red Mercedes and convertible.
- 37:40He gets out of the car and the way he walks, anybody that sees it, I walk a little different,
- 37:45kind of waddle.
- 37:46He's waddling out of the car and I'm going, oh my gosh, it's me.
- 37:51You don't need any DNA tests.
- 37:52Look, here he comes.
- 37:54And you know, and he's from Palm Beach and he's a Palm Beacher, you know, he's a wealthy.
- 38:00Did your heart sink?
- 38:02You know, I mean, like what was the physical side of that?
- 38:06My heart was beating out of my chest.
- 38:10But here's the thing, what happened is when we were together, he started sharing who he
- 38:16was.
- 38:18It settled to who I am and a peace came.
- 38:23The same thing about the Jewish roots of the faith.
- 38:25The reason I teach it, for every Christian, the more you understand your own roots, the
- 38:30more you'll have that heart throbbing experience with God himself.
- 38:36See people, I think people forget about the relationship side of the Bible.
- 38:46I was blessed.
- 38:47I was blessed in several ways.
- 38:48When I read it, I become Nehemiah.
- 38:50When I'm reading, I become Joseph.
- 38:52When I'm reading it, I become Peter.
- 38:57So I think what people have to understand is that this is a relationship.
- 39:02Yes, we're talking about covenant.
- 39:03Yes, we're talking about blessing Israel and blessing the God of Israel.
- 39:08But God wants to bless you.
- 39:11And the biggest blessing of the Bible is to have a presence of God in peace and not have
- 39:18to fear what the world is doing, knowing that God will take care of you and he'll meet
- 39:23all of your needs according to Jesus, his riches and glory through Yeshua.
- 39:30And so my journey of finding my way and having peace in the storm was being reconnected to
- 39:37God and then finding out who I really am.
- 39:40And that's my prayer.
- 39:42All the ministry material, everything we do at One New Man, everything we do at Curt Landry
- 39:47Ministries is driven to unlock your identity.
- 39:53That's my joy.
- 39:55If I could lay hands on every person, let's say, and I was dying, and they said, all right,
- 40:02you got five minutes and you're going home to be with the Lord and there's a bunch of
- 40:06people praying there, what would you pray over them?
- 40:08I'd lay hands right on your forehead and I'd say, Father God, in Yeshua's name, unlock
- 40:14their identity in you.
- 40:18Powerful.
- 40:20Don't really know where to go from here other than to say if this podcast has helped you,
- 40:29if it's been impactful during this episode or just in general for the Curt Landry podcast,
- 40:36we'd love for you to leave a star review, leave a comment on Apple Podcasts, on Spotify,
- 40:43just wherever you're listening.
- 40:44It could be Amazon Music, it could be YouTube.
- 40:47We're pretty much everywhere.
- 40:49So if you can just let us know, just rank this podcast, it's going to help us get the
- 40:54message out, Rabbi, and kind of break through some of those algorithms and we just really,
- 41:01really appreciate it.
- 41:04Any questions you have?
- 41:05You can send it over to podcasts at curtlandry.com.
- 41:08All right, Rabbi, let's wrap up.
- 41:11People made it to the deep end of this episode.
- 41:15What's your lasting thought for them?
- 41:17You know, Jesus and Moses had two things about identity.
- 41:24Moses, he's getting ready to go.
- 41:27He's had a rough life and he's on the side of the mountain.
- 41:32Think about it.
- 41:33He's at Mount Sinai and the bush is burning but not being consumed.
- 41:38And here's God empowering somebody who stutters, somebody who had failed in Egypt, tending
- 41:45sheep, kind of so to say, minding his own business.
- 41:49And he says to God, he goes, okay, I'll do it.
- 41:53But who do you say, what should I say, who sent me?
- 41:58And God said to Moses, I am that I am.
- 42:04And if you think about it in Matthew 20, 22, verse 41, while the Pharisees were gathered,
- 42:13Jesus asked them, saying, what do you think about the Christ?
- 42:19Whose son is he?
- 42:22And they said to him, the son of David.
- 42:27Wow.
- 42:28So what the Pharisees knew that this Messiah was going to come through the lineage of King
- 42:35David, that is the Jewish roots of the faith.
- 42:39In the book of Revelation, it talks about the end time church of Philadelphia and it
- 42:45has the key of David.
- 42:48And I'll leave this with deep thought with you.
- 42:50I pray the Lord would release the key of David in your life because that key to your own
- 42:56Jewish roots is the identity to release your destiny in Yeshua's name.
- 43:03Man, Rabbi, it's been a good podcast.
- 43:09It's been a really good discussion.
- 43:11Of course, we hope that this show, this format is super beneficial to you in your physical
- 43:20and spiritual life and journey.
- 43:22And, you know, if this podcast has helped you, please share it with anyone that you
- 43:29know.
- 43:30Send it to social media, send it in text, just get it out there if this show has helped
- 43:36you.
- 43:37All right, Rabbi, man, that was a good episode.
- 43:41Good.
- 43:42The Lord blessed me to share it.
- 43:46And I think one of the reasons it's a good episode is I know what my inner heart desire
- 43:53is.
- 43:54It blessed me to unlock my identity and it brought so much fullness to me, you know,
- 44:0033 years ago now.
- 44:03And I pray for each and every one that follows us that your destiny be unlocked and that
- 44:09you find that joy of being just who God called you to be and that the workmanship he has
- 44:15prepared beforehand that you would be able to be about that work and that business in
- 44:22Yeshua's name.
- 44:23All right, that's going to wrap it up for this episode.
- 44:26Rabbi, until next time.
- 44:27Yeah, thank you.
- 44:28Good luck.
