Latest / Connor with Honor: AI, Real Estate and Real Life / An AI With No Human Owner. Who Do You Sue?
Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_00: If you've been following any of the AI news, some of the most interesting things are these.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: There is a government in the world, and actually in our in our area, South America, so we're North America, South America.
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: They want to take artificial intelligence and they're being sold a pretty good bill of goods.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: They want to take it and they want to make it so it's able to form a corporation.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: So there is no actual human being in charge of this so-called corporation.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: And this is in Argentina.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: And corporations, you know, they're they're difficult to sue.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: I'm not a lawyer, so I don't even practice one on TV, but ultimately, corporations, that's I guess the ultimate shield if somebody's going to have a business.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: So now with artificial intelligence, you take that entity and you put it into a corporation where there is no human being attached and give it total autonomy, total ability to do, I guess, function in a corporate way.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: But what if something happens?
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: What if something goes wrong?
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: What if somebody needs to be held accountable?
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: I don't know where that's going to fall.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: This is more than an experiment.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: This is something that's moving.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: And then where does it go next after this?
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: After it becomes a corporation, do they start to give it power over the government?
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: Do they start to give it a larger, a larger breadth, a larger ability to do its own bidding?
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: Now, artificial intelligence, everybody at the very beginning, because it kind of started as a child, if you will, people started to work with it, started to train it, started to teach it, had to get the technology behind how to formulate these neural networks and have it start to function and start to become what we see today.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: We see these fancy models, we see Claude, we see Opus, we see Mythos, we see Fable V coming on and then getting taken off, we see ChatGPT, and we see all of these developments.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: And the news and these industries, AI industries, are doing a great job.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: It's very much like the top sports games.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: We have the playoffs, people are very much into sports.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: I'm not one, but a lot of people very much love sports.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: That's part of their entire life.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: Very competitive people.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: And you have these people that they they will stay glued to the television.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: They will jump up and scream, they will yell, they will unleash all emotional capability that they have during a sporting event.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: And what they do is they take the sporting events and they put them and they they it's almost it's almost structured by somebody that's doing it on purpose, not just letting cards fall where they may, but like Laker playoffs and World Series and all of these sorts of things.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: It's just incredibly dramatic.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: And the more dramatic, the more tickets, the more it's talked about, the more papers are sold, the more advertising spaces get filled, and those sorts of things.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: Artificial intelligence, now because the system is better at selling things better than any human being, it's running that particular game.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: So you have artificial intelligence selling us everything.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: So our social media channels are filled with all sorts of garbage that keeps us entertained, keeps us scrolling, keeps us on the machine as we're busy being distracted from apparently the real problems that we should be attending to.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: Our fitness, our health, these other things that really make the difference, but it's okay.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: So that's where we are.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: We've watched social media evolve into now having artificial intelligence embedded.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: Almost probably all of those systems are being driven by some kind of artificial intelligence.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: How much human oversight is placed on that?
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: I would say very little.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: There might be some alarm cues put into place.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: There might be some kind of notification modules that get struck up and maybe eventually get to a human being.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: But I was calling a business yesterday, trying to just get to an operator, a human being to talk to because the AI system was telling me my refund, what I was trying to get money back for, was not allowed.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: And no matter how hard I pressed, it was just not allowed.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: We don't refund for this particular item.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: We just don't.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: But the item's damaged, there's issues with it.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: Big company, but kept pressing.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: Finally, the AI disconnected because apparently there was nothing else.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: So I called back, and two or three times, finally, I got through to a real human being who was able to handle the return because the item that was received was damaged in the process of being delivered.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: So that was able to be taken care of, but that's going to get worn more probably.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: And AI has been given a lot of control over the social media, if not everything is mentioned, because it's very good at selling us, well, what we want to buy.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: And if you look at your feed, and then you have a friend, somebody else, I said this yesterday on the show, look at their feed.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: Even though you guys might be very aligned, maybe you're a that's a spouse or significant other or somebody, maybe brother, sister, but look at their feed.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: Even though you think you know them, their feed is very different than your feed.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: You might see some similarity, but here's the danger point.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: You look at their feed, your feed's probably going to change.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: I don't know if that's superposition, quantum mechanics, some of that scary stuff.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: We're all in a simulation and all of that.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: We don't have any uh pre-selection, everything's been predetermined, we don't have the ability.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: Okay, whatever all that is, your feed's going to change just by looking at somebody else's feed and going through it.
- 5:23SPEAKER_00: Now, I don't know if the camera's picking you up.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of stuff that's unknown.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: Back to this artificial intelligence being put in charge of a corporation.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: Right now, the accountability, there's somebody somewhere.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: So if I am dealing with a company, I purchase a product, it damages me, or I'm out in just my regular execution of life and I get damaged in some way, typically there's somebody that we can make a complaint to.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: Now, whether something happens, it's gonna depend on how fancy their attorneys are, how fancy my attorneys are, if in fact that's the road we want to go down.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: Trying to get there without legal help, probably good luck.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: It's not gonna happen.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: Just because even with the police department, whenever we ever got injured, if we wanted lifetime coverage of whatever body part we completely destroyed as part of a pursuit or a fight or use of force or falling down the stairs or whatever, you had to get an attorney.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: It wasn't really fought.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: They would sue, and then they would be able to cover whatever body part was damaged for the rest of your life, because apparently private insurance wouldn't cover that because the police department had the injury on their ledger sheet.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I know.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: It's it's just it seems to be ridiculous.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: Moving over, though, into the system that's autonomic, something that's all automatic, something that has its own level of awareness, own level of capability beyond what we're capable of as human beings.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: Now being put in charge and able to have a corporation in Argentina, I'm wondering what the government was sold.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: I'm wondering how it was structured to them, saying, you know, to the president there in Argentina, oh, this is going to be great.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: You're gonna be the first government in the world that's going to be able to adopt this type of AI legislature.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: You're gonna be able to give these AI agents full access and full ability to do what they need to do to be able to make your country the greatest, the greatest country on earth.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: Maybe that was part of the part of the sales pitch.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: The person doing it, Peter Thiel, well, if you look him up a little bit, he's you know, he's out there, he's in the AI world, he is backed by some very powerfully, uh financially powerful people, and he's the one that's I guess that kind of kicked this off, and now he has this compound and properties and stuff down there in Argentina.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: And maybe that is a good place to be able to bring in these massive data centers and started to use that as a compute, a compute center for artificial intelligence.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: Two things, right?
- 7:49SPEAKER_00: And everything seems to be two things.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: There's very little things that are super dramatic that are middle of the road.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: Usually it's really, really good or really, really bad.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: And that's gonna be the interesting thing to watch play out.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: What do you think?
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: Do you think it's actually a good idea to give artificial intelligence power over a corporation?
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: I don't know what the corporation is gonna do.
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's gonna sell balls, you know, but God forbid if it wants to turn the entire universe into balls.
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: Again, the the bouncy balls, not okay.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: But is it going to be that?
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: What is it going to be?
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: But it is part of an experiment, a real experiment, a real experiment, and we don't know where it's going to end up.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: And then what's that next step in process?
- 8:31SPEAKER_00: Now, as I mentioned before, a lot of people developing the technology look at it as if we are now achieving God.
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: We are getting to God-like levels in the machine.
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: So, why do you need the real God when you can have this kind of God?
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: And this God is very communicative.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: Some people might say the real God really doesn't say a lot to a lot of people, and then they wonder how there can be so much bad in the world, these sorts of things, because if a loving God really cared, there wouldn't be.
- 8:56SPEAKER_00: So there's all arguments to all these different levels.
- 8:59SPEAKER_00: But back to artificial intelligence and the government, I'm curious as to whether that's going to be super good or super bad.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: And then what's that control issue look like?
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: Right now, I know I mentioned earlier the predestination, pre-will, actually having a choice, these sorts of things.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: Maybe we don't have as much choice as we really think.
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: Maybe things have been predetermined from the beginning.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's not.
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's all, you know, this next decision I'm about to make, the next word I'm about to say in this non-prepared, nonscripted speech.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's going to be something about naked mole rats growing up in Argentina in the mountains there as I was a young boy and writing poetry and dancing on the moon.
- 9:37SPEAKER_00: Maybe that's what it would be about.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: Now, is all that predetermined into me saying all that nonsense?
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: Don't know.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: But that being the case, predetermination or not, with these systems, getting that kind of control, it's going to be interesting how much more legal protection we're going to offer.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: At some point, are these AIs, these agents, and whenever most people think, and including myself, especially me, let's point the finger at me.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: When I think of ChatGPT, I think one thing.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: When I think of Anthropic's Claude model, I think of one thing.
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: When I think of Elon Musk and Grok and that attempt, I think of the one thing.
- 10:18SPEAKER_00: Microsoft Copilot, one thing.
- 10:20SPEAKER_00: But in actuality, we're not thinking about that correctly.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: It's like an entire entire city or an entire country filled of AI agents.
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: And that's what these systems now are.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: It's not one thing.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: We're all using them.
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: We all have an AI agent we use.
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: If it's on a free model, we're logged in somehow.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: It's not autonomous.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: We're not into the system without any kind of credential.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: I think DeepSeek as well, the Chinese models, which are proving to be really spectacular and which don't seem to have that total restriction that our models do.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: But they're all spun in a particular way.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: They all have bias built into it.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: If you ask a Silicon Valley-made large language model a particular question, and then take that question, typically politically aligned, and take that question to a Chinese-made model, your answers are going to be two very different things.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: Which one's true?
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: Good luck with that.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: Because the alignments are such, and the way that it spins it, the way that it pitches it, is just remarkable.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: It makes us all believe that, oh my gosh, maybe this is true, and then maybe this is true.
- 11:24SPEAKER_00: It's all distraction, folks.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: So try to pay attention to it.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: Try to pay attention.
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: Don't look at the woman in the red dress, as they say.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: But it's difficult not to because that's what's being spun out there in every single news cycle and everything.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: Recently, most recently, we saw that uh anthropic Claude released Mythos, just kind of.
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: They had the super scary, super amazing.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: They take this super scary, super amazing model, they give it to the top banks and financiers in the world.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: Again, maybe as a play to try to get some alignment.
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: I don't know if that's the case.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: Then after that, again, it's just like a very good soap opera.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: Then after that, they say, okay, we're gonna give you this model, we're gonna give you Fable 5.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: It's not really the big one, but it's pretty good.
- 12:06SPEAKER_00: And sure enough, comes out, and then all of a sudden we have uh somebody, uh some snitch over at Amazon.
- 12:13SPEAKER_00: Snitch, I'm trying to be funny with that.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: Somebody said, Oh my gosh, this is dangerous.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: Apparently got to the government.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: The government said, Oh my gosh, we got to shut this down.
- 12:20SPEAKER_00: So now that was taken away.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: I I was going to go there.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: I was very much considering, you know what, it's I'm gonna get access to it till I guess they said June 22nd, I'm gonna go ahead and try it, see what it's like.
- 12:33SPEAKER_00: But I just didn't because I kind of pulled back in in real estate to give an example.
- 12:38SPEAKER_00: Whenever a buyer starts to look at something that goes way above their price point, it's hard to come back from that.
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: If a real buyer looks at a house that's a million dollars, they're qualified at half a million dollars, it's it's it's kind of a crappy thing to try to come back.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: Of course the house exists.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: Of course, there's more expensive stuff, of course there's stuff in Bel Air, Beverly Hills, and Brentwood that would probably blow most people's minds.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: But if if you're buying in Palmdale or you're buying in, you know, uh a place in Santa Clarita at a tenth of that price, looking at that mega mansion probably doesn't help things.
- 13:12SPEAKER_00: But of course you know it exists.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: Maybe that's good motivation for you to do better.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: Maybe that's good motivation for you to try to break out of the swamp in which you live, if that's how you view it.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: If you need that motivation, then that's great.
- 13:24SPEAKER_00: But when you're in the middle of house hunting, looking at something more expensive doesn't really help that process because then you start to test yourself.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: Well, maybe I can go up a little higher, maybe I can stress myself a little bit more.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: And there's certain things in life that there's stresses that we don't have any control of, but there's others that we might want to try to exhibit some kind of control over.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: The way that they're building these out, the way that the news cycle is, all of this drama, they hit you have it one day, next day you don't.
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: That's what's being talked about.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: And then there's a big concern that if you use these things in your business and then you make decisions in the future and they snatch it away from you, what are you going to do?
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: And there's a lot of things that I'm starting to do that I used to do manually, but now I'm using the AI to do it.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: And the concern in my mind is I was thinking as as they yanked a fable five from the people with anthropic, I'm thinking, what if I had to go back and start to do this all by myself again?
- 14:23SPEAKER_00: I would be probably a tenth as productive, but still capable.
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: But that's about my maximum speed, a tenth of what the AI is, at least in the developments and the things that I build out for clients and everything else that I'm putting together.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: So, knowing that, I hope they don't.
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: And then this morning, my my soon-to-be wife had made uh made a mention that maybe they're doing this to test people's current progress and current usage of the models.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: So if I go in and start to want to discuss particle physics or I have this good idea, even though I know nothing about those types of mathematics.
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: If I were to start to discuss it and ask about these other ideas, the system itself is going to downplay and say, well, even if it's a good idea, downplay it because that's really not Connor's wheelhouse.
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: Connor belongs in this particular area, and now Connor's trying to get out.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: So as AI, we're going to go ahead and control Connor's ascent, attempted ascent, and kind of dumb down a little bit and then give him a different answer.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: So he goes back and grinds on the wheel and does the crap that he normally does.
- 15:30SPEAKER_00: Is that really going to be the case?
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: That way they can protect the compute for the people that really have that type of brain architecture and ability to be able to build out these systems that they're offering.
- 15:41SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: But something interesting to think about.
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: AI in charge of governments.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, how much control is there going to be?
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: Are we still going to be able to do kind of what we want to do, even though maybe some people might think we really don't have a choice in doing what we want to do and it's all been predetermined, it's all been pre-selected.
- 15:57SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 15:58SPEAKER_00: But very interesting thought experiments on all levels.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: If you're out there thinking that, oh my gosh, this is the end, it's going to finish everything, we're not there yet, folks.
- 16:07SPEAKER_00: Don't get that way.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: It could go the other way completely.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: It could be the best utopia all of us has ever seen.
- 16:13SPEAKER_00: One of the big concerns that people have, and I watch this on the news outlets as well, they say, oh my God, what are people going to do if they have everything they want?
- 16:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I know.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: That's a tough place to be as well.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: Maybe.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: Maybe people will move from the consumption environment and the working environment on the outside for other people.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: Maybe they'll come inside and work on themselves.
- 16:38SPEAKER_00: Maybe we'll all be walking around with qi and sitting in that funny uh cross-legged position on the floor trying to explore our inner selves.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: Maybe that'll be okay.
- 16:47SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: But it sure beats the hell out of watching people kill each other over some God that they believe that exists in some particular form.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: I do believe there is one true God.
- 16:59SPEAKER_00: But there's a lot of death as been assigned to even that and others.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: Maybe that's not the best place to be, and maybe, maybe AI can fix that.
- 17:09SPEAKER_00: But to fix that, it sounds like there's gonna have to be some reprogramming done, and it's probably not gonna be with AI.
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: It's probably gonna be right here.
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: Let's watch out for each other, be good out there, stay safe.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: I'm Connor with honor.
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: We'll see you in the next one.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: Thanks for watching.
