- 0:03Speaker 1: She's better known for the things that she does on
- 0:05Speaker 1: the mattress. Whoa, And then she changed the lyrics to
- 0:10Speaker 1: he was a moth to the flame. She was holding
- 0:13Speaker 1: the mattress whoa.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Oh that's cool.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Yeah, but I like the slutshame version better.
- 0:19Speaker 2: She's sheen a me, no mate, not my mate?
- 0:25Speaker 3: Yo yoo?
- 0:26Speaker 2: No, what is your child?
- 0:30Speaker 1: I am a shocker?
- 0:34Speaker 2: You know what's going down? Before like.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Round. I saw this clip on Twitter the other day.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Sorry X no, we're not calling at that, We're going
- 0:53Speaker 1: And it was when Riverdale ended and someone was like,
- 0:55Speaker 1: I'm going to miss the show, and it was a
- 0:56Speaker 1: clip of one of the moms going up to one
- 0:58Speaker 1: of the other moms and being like, I heard your
- 1:00Speaker 1: daughter was getting slut shamed at school. That's what happens
- 1:03Speaker 1: when sluts get shamed, which I thought was very funny.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Riverdale is amazing, honestly, I mean just a small just
- 1:10Speaker 2: a small aside. I watched many seasons of Riverdale. I
- 1:14Speaker 2: don't know if the Virgins know this about me. I
- 1:16Speaker 2: became very obsessed. I think up until season four, right
- 1:20Speaker 2: around the time where Archie gets sent to like penitentiary
- 1:26Speaker 2: prison and like plays basketball with all of his prisonmates,
- 1:31Speaker 2: and I think.
- 1:33Speaker 1: That does any gay stuff happen?
- 1:35Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I think that the one gay guy on
- 1:39Speaker 2: the show has like is like in a kind of
- 1:41Speaker 2: grinder relationship at this point. And I'm pretty sure.
- 1:44Speaker 1: No, but no gay stuff happens with Archie in prison.
- 1:46Speaker 2: I don't think. No, not with Archie. No, not with Archie.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Well that's the thing is, like I know, maybe one
- 1:52Speaker 2: of them gets like yeah, I don't know, no, but
- 1:55Speaker 2: Archie's never gay. And when the show ended and I
- 1:57Speaker 2: haven't been keeping up, it's apparently gone.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Off off the off, the off the rails, like like
- 2:04Speaker 3: it's now just multiple universes horror fantasy, like everybody fucking everybody.
- 2:11Speaker 2: And in the final episode they revealed that the four
- 2:15Speaker 2: of them Betty Juughhead, Archie and Ica and Camilla Mendez
- 2:20Speaker 2: Ken does are We're in a quad relationship, which is
- 2:25Speaker 2: essentially a poly foursome. And that is so disrespectful, so
- 2:35Speaker 2: disrespectful to goad us with a polyphor way and not
- 2:44Speaker 2: show us Jughead taking it up the bum bum like sorry,
- 2:49Speaker 2: like that is rude. I needed someone.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Yeah, does it make you mad enough to want to
- 2:58Speaker 1: kill someone?
- 2:59Speaker 2: Yes? Oh yeah, I forgot we're here to talk about
- 3:02Speaker 2: so anyways, once again there's an adderall shortage.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Right, don't worry. I will be your adderall.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Yeah, you'll be my adderall be on adderall.
- 3:14Speaker 1: So we are here today to talk about the two
- 3:17Speaker 1: thousand and three film Kill Bill and sequel kill Bill two,
- 3:23Speaker 1: directed by Quentin Tarantino, starring Uma Thurman, Fox and Lucy Lou. Yes,
- 3:28Speaker 1: we recently. Well, I watched the first movie a couple
- 3:31Speaker 1: weeks ago, and then Fran and I watched part two
- 3:35Speaker 1: last week. And I hadn't seen Kill Bill in over
- 3:40Speaker 1: a decade.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:41Speaker 1: And let me tell you, when these movies came out,
- 3:45Speaker 1: I made them my whole personality.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Yeah. I also I had cousins that were obsessed with them,
- 3:51Speaker 2: that were like film people, and so I become obsessed
- 3:54Speaker 2: with them kind of tangentially. Yeah, I I what do
- 4:01Speaker 2: you What did you latch onto about them? Well?
- 4:03Speaker 1: I think the Well, okay, let's be real. First of all,
- 4:06Speaker 1: it's all about kill Bill one. Yeah, all of the
- 4:09Speaker 1: iconic visuals, lines, sequences are all in the first movie,
- 4:17Speaker 1: and the second movie feels like a very long coda
- 4:21Speaker 1: in many ways. There are good moments, but it's all
- 4:23Speaker 1: about the first movie. It's about the yellow jumpsuit. It's
- 4:26Speaker 1: about the anime scene. It's about it's about a tear
- 4:31Speaker 1: the fucking bitch apart. It's about Nikiya Niki so good.
- 4:37Speaker 1: I love that Vivica a Fox. Let's have us a
- 4:41Speaker 1: knife fight. Yeah, it's about fucking when she cuts the
- 4:47Speaker 1: arm off that bitch. It's about the band in the restaurant.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Oh my god, it's about that the lucy luccene in
- 4:54Speaker 2: the boardroom. Oh yeah, the guy. Now, it's the fucking time.
- 4:58Speaker 1: It's about silly coccade Asian girl likes to play with Samurai.
- 5:01Speaker 2: So yes, okay, So here's the thing. I I feel like, Okay, no,
- 5:07Speaker 2: Quentin Tarantino, But unfortunately these films are like we're are
- 5:11Speaker 2: like cinematic invention and like totally genius on the format level.
- 5:15Speaker 2: A lot of the time.
- 5:16Speaker 1: He put his whole.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Into that, And like, we hate Quentin Tarantino, but we're
- 5:20Speaker 2: not going to deny the fact that these are good
- 5:22Speaker 2: fucking films.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Yeah, even all the lingering shots of feet. Yeah, and
- 5:25Speaker 1: I think that wiggle wiggle you're big.
- 5:29Speaker 2: You know that, quin No, not let me not go there.
- 5:31Speaker 4: Oh you know, oh god, he's big, big, Okay.
- 5:42Speaker 2: I I think it's lovely that the films are called
- 5:45Speaker 2: Volume one and Volume two, because obviously, in American cinema
- 5:49Speaker 2: we treat everything as like a sequel, a sequel, a sequel,
- 5:51Speaker 2: it's a reboot, and it's like no, in actuality, these
- 5:54Speaker 2: two films are one film, and I personally, when I
- 5:57Speaker 2: watch them, like, I view them as one film and
- 6:01Speaker 2: Volume two is a just as you said, like a
- 6:05Speaker 2: denu mat to the rest of the story, and therefore
- 6:08Speaker 2: is kind of boring it.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Honestly, like it makes me wonder should it just have
- 6:14Speaker 1: been edited in order of the kills or But because
- 6:20Speaker 1: the thing is, the end of the first film is perfect, perfect,
- 6:26Speaker 1: and the climax and the ending with Lucy Lou is
- 6:32Speaker 1: the way that first movie should end. But it's not
- 6:36Speaker 1: the end of the story. That's actually that's her first kill.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Yeah, so, well she kills Vivica.
- 6:45Speaker 1: No, I think she's already killed Lucy when she kills
- 6:47Speaker 1: Vivica a fox?
- 6:49Speaker 2: What hold on?
- 6:50Speaker 1: Let me let me pull up I think, so, let
- 6:53Speaker 1: me pull up her kills kill bill kill list. Yeah,
- 7:00Speaker 1: Oren is shee is number one, So it's Oren Vernita
- 7:06Speaker 1: bud Elle and Bill got it, so that would have Yeah,
- 7:11Speaker 1: you can't start the movies with her killing Oren, because
- 7:15Speaker 1: that is the most exciting part of both films.
- 7:17Speaker 2: These are based on a comic book.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Right, No, no, no, They're based on a character that Quentin
- 7:23Speaker 1: Tarantino and Uma Thurman created together because you know, they
- 7:29Speaker 1: had worked together on pulp fiction. They were great friends,
- 7:32Speaker 1: and they sort of conceptualized this idea of the bride
- 7:36Speaker 1: together and made these movies.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Oh, that's so cool, it's so cool. It's how films
- 7:41Speaker 2: should be made. It makes me so mad at that
- 7:43Speaker 2: Quentin Tarantino is such a piece of shit. But honestly, well, okay,
- 7:46Speaker 2: I don't want to go right into the negative. But
- 7:48Speaker 2: we already talked about how much we love these films.
- 7:50Speaker 1: So well, let's talk more about the why they gripped
- 7:53Speaker 1: us the way. Yeah they did when we were teenagers,
- 7:55Speaker 1: because I don't think I had like we've talked before
- 7:59Speaker 1: about how there were certain movies or pop culture experiences
- 8:03Speaker 1: that I had as a teenager that like opened me
- 8:05Speaker 1: up to a specific side of pop culture, and like,
- 8:08Speaker 1: you know, like I talked about how Garden State was
- 8:10Speaker 1: really my introduction to indie movies and like that kind
- 8:14Speaker 1: of like quieter, character driven story. And I do think
- 8:19Speaker 1: for kill Bill, this was the first time I saw
- 8:23Speaker 1: a film that was like like an outeur film, you know,
- 8:26Speaker 1: like yeah, and also something that was so referential of
- 8:32Speaker 1: an entire genre that I had never experienced before, which is,
- 8:35Speaker 1: you know, like westerns and Mars Samurai movies and revenge
- 8:39Speaker 1: films and martial arts movies. And it was the first
- 8:42Speaker 1: time that I understood that filmmakers like existed in conversation
- 8:48Speaker 1: with the movies that came before them. Yeah.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Yeah. It was also probably the first kind of utter
- 8:55Speaker 2: film I ever saw, too, And I think that I
- 9:01Speaker 2: felt like I was inspired to be a filmmaker because
- 9:07Speaker 2: of in part Kill Bill, Wow Yeah and kill Bill,
- 9:10Speaker 2: and also like Mulan Bruge, like Baslerman honestly, but like
- 9:14Speaker 2: just like I just remember two maximalists Bosler you know me.
- 9:19Speaker 2: I love maximalism. And the thing that I think really
- 9:22Speaker 2: sticks to me about Kill Bill still to this day,
- 9:25Speaker 2: as we just rewatched volume two and you just watch
- 9:28Speaker 2: volume one, is that the visual language of the film
- 9:32Speaker 2: is still so strong it stands on its own. Most
- 9:37Speaker 2: of it is not derivative of anything. It's just like
- 9:39Speaker 2: fully his art.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Obviously, it's like I mean, it's derivative, but in a
- 9:45Speaker 1: in a way reference full of reverence. Yes, obviously he
- 9:49Speaker 1: has lots of reverence for Westerns and lots of reverence
- 9:52Speaker 1: for these kind of like Eastern like martial arts movies,
- 9:56Speaker 1: which you know, there's a whole other kind of like
- 9:58Speaker 1: nuanced problema to conversation have about that that we're not
- 10:00Speaker 1: going to have here on this podcast. But yeah, I
- 10:05Speaker 1: just like I was so struck by the specificity. And
- 10:08Speaker 1: I you know me, I like movies about revenge. I
- 10:12Speaker 1: like movies about women. I like movies that are violent,
- 10:15Speaker 1: and this has all of all of those things. It
- 10:19Speaker 1: has everything. It has all these hot cunty women killing
- 10:23Speaker 1: each other with swords, with swords with swords. Like there's
- 10:28Speaker 1: so few guns used in this movie, which is something
- 10:30Speaker 1: I really appreciate. Like obviously at the beginning there's a gun,
- 10:34Speaker 1: but like it is so like all of these ideas
- 10:38Speaker 1: about sort of like honor and revenge, and like there's
- 10:43Speaker 1: no there's no morality placed on the bride aka Beatrix
- 10:51Speaker 1: Kiddo for wanting her revenge, Like we we support her
- 10:55Speaker 1: and I do think, said her killing spree.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:58Speaker 1: This is at a time when there was sort of
- 11:00Speaker 1: a moralistic like view grafted onto mainstream media that we
- 11:06Speaker 1: should be watching good people do like triumph over.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Bad, especially women. Like yeah, oh like if if there's
- 11:13Speaker 2: a woman character, she's not allowed to be bad or
- 11:17Speaker 2: or a killer at all.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Yeah. And I loved that this character was a mother
- 11:22Speaker 1: and was also like the most dangerous assassin in the world.
- 11:27Speaker 2: It's so cool if only she had broken out her
- 11:30Speaker 2: southern drawl that she brings into red wine and royal. Yeah. No,
- 11:36Speaker 2: I really I love these movies. I feel like Go
- 11:42Speaker 2: Go is my gender, Like I feel like I feel
- 11:46Speaker 2: like there's something about.
- 11:47Speaker 1: The Halloween costume for you go Go Ubari.
- 11:50Speaker 2: It would I just like any sort of hard femme,
- 11:53Speaker 2: Like there's something about the evil femme that I've always
- 11:57Speaker 2: been attracted to, whether it's like Mole the Scent, or
- 12:00Speaker 2: like Beatrix or Lucy Lou. Honestly, like these are I
- 12:04Speaker 2: don't know. I just I'm addicted to stories like that,
- 12:07Speaker 2: and it feels so basic sometimes because now we're seeing
- 12:11Speaker 2: this twenty twenties kind of girl bossification of villains, which
- 12:16Speaker 2: with things like I care a lot, which you very
- 12:18Speaker 2: just you and I very much so disagree about. But
- 12:20Speaker 2: like you know, the girl bossification of villains is like
- 12:22Speaker 2: a very it's like they're treating it like it's new again.
- 12:25Speaker 2: And Quan Tarantino, Quan Tarantina, what's like doing this a
- 12:29Speaker 2: long time ago? Yeah, and like doing it without I
- 12:31Speaker 2: mean I can't I can't say that I was aware
- 12:34Speaker 2: of the media narrative around it at the time and
- 12:37Speaker 2: like what they talked about, but there's not there doesn't
- 12:40Speaker 2: seem to be any big ideas about feminism in these films. Yeah,
- 12:44Speaker 2: it's really they are the type of violent revenge stories
- 12:50Speaker 2: that had existed for decades, just with women placed in
- 12:54Speaker 2: the lead roles and very little conversation about that.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Like there were there were not a lot of moments
- 13:00Speaker 1: in these movies where men were like devaluing or second
- 13:06Speaker 1: guessing these women because they were women, like they were
- 13:09Speaker 1: they were killers, yea, And like that was just presented
- 13:12Speaker 1: in sort of a very matter of fact way that
- 13:15Speaker 1: I think was pretty progressive for the time, but like
- 13:21Speaker 1: didn't maybe we didn't try to like pat itself on
- 13:23Speaker 1: the back for it.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Yeah. And yeah, and also just like on top of
- 13:28Speaker 2: the like the effortlessness of it all that you're kind
- 13:31Speaker 2: of describing. On top of that, there's this thing that
- 13:33Speaker 2: I just tend to love in movies. It's the thing
- 13:36Speaker 2: that'll make me remember a movie is when a director
- 13:41Speaker 2: understands how fucking weird they are and they figure out
- 13:47Speaker 2: how to lean into it and that and that like
- 13:49Speaker 2: kill Bill, these are weird movies, like really weird movies
- 13:54Speaker 2: that do things that you are like, wait, what's happening
- 13:56Speaker 2: sometimes if you're seeing it for the first time. And
- 13:59Speaker 2: that's why, you know, I kind of loved Barbie or
- 14:01Speaker 2: loved like everything everwhere all at once, or like when
- 14:03Speaker 2: these movie when movies like this triumph, I'm always just
- 14:06Speaker 2: like I love that a weird movie got somewhere, because
- 14:11Speaker 2: these days, the only movies that are successful are the
- 14:14Speaker 2: ones that are following formulas like I mean, we're gonna
- 14:18Speaker 2: talk about Marvel again, but you know what I mean.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Like and kill Bill was at the time was unlike
- 14:24Speaker 1: anything that existed, and it.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Was outside of obviously Western movies and like martial arts no, but.
- 14:29Speaker 1: I mean movies that like mainstream films that were getting
- 14:32Speaker 1: not a time and it was a huge hit like
- 14:35Speaker 1: it Kill Bill dominated culture. I didn't even know that,
- 14:38Speaker 1: and it was a huge success that had a thirty
- 14:41Speaker 1: million dollar budget and the it made one hundred and
- 14:44Speaker 1: eighty million dollars at the box office, so it was
- 14:47Speaker 1: a huge hit and it was Tarantino's like biggest hit
- 14:52Speaker 1: at the time. And I just remember like the references
- 14:56Speaker 1: of it were everywhere because the the imagery of it
- 14:59Speaker 1: is so iconic that I think it really permeated culture
- 15:04Speaker 1: at the time, and they were like I was just
- 15:08Speaker 1: obsessed with it, Like I wanted a Samurai sword.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Obviously.
- 15:14Speaker 1: I wanted those like yellow Acex she was wearing. I
- 15:17Speaker 1: actually did recently, but did their only Zuca tigers, and
- 15:21Speaker 1: I did recently buy a pair of Oh yeah you.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Did, and now I want them to I do feel
- 15:26Speaker 2: like the movie, the Kill Bill movies did move me
- 15:31Speaker 2: to go watch every subsequent Quentin Tarantino film, and I
- 15:34Speaker 2: also watched pulp Fiction, which I thought was a little boring.
- 15:36Speaker 2: I have not seen the most recent one he did
- 15:38Speaker 2: another Western recently that I haven't seen.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Well, I've the only movies of his I've seen are
- 15:43Speaker 1: The Kill Bills, Pulp Fiction, and Once upon a Time
- 15:46Speaker 1: in Hollywood. I've never seen Jackie Brown. I've never seen
- 15:50Speaker 1: Reservoir Dogs.
- 15:52Speaker 2: I thought he just produced that. I don't remember.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not. I can't say that. I'm like a
- 15:57Speaker 1: huge fan of him, but these movies I am a
- 16:01Speaker 1: fan of. Has he been canceled in any way?
- 16:05Speaker 2: No? No, I mean not effectively. No. There are a
- 16:07Speaker 2: bunch of women that came forward to talk about the
- 16:09Speaker 2: ways they were maybe not treated correctly on set. But
- 16:13Speaker 2: I think the fact that like Lupita has been silent,
- 16:16Speaker 2: and that like Margaret Robbie was like weirdly defensive. She's like, no, no, no,
- 16:19Speaker 2: I love being in movies where I only have five lines.
- 16:21Speaker 2: It's like great, Like this is like so amazing.
- 16:23Speaker 1: It's like, oh yeah, because she said nothing once upon
- 16:26Speaker 1: a time.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Noting anyways, it's infuriating. But no, I don't think he's
- 16:32Speaker 2: been effectively canceled. And it's kind of wild because he
- 16:34Speaker 2: really is a textbook abuser. And if you have seen
- 16:38Speaker 2: literally any any interview with him, or if you've ever
- 16:41Speaker 2: heard Fiona Apple talk about dating him, we all know
- 16:43Speaker 2: he's a bad person.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Yeah, and he also is sorry, horrendously.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Ugly, horrendously ugly can we say that, thank you, but.
- 16:52Speaker 1: You know, he may he put his whole pussy, he
- 16:57Speaker 1: put his whole terranuzzy into at the very least kill
- 17:01Speaker 1: Bill one, like kill Bill two, Kill Bill two feels
- 17:07Speaker 1: the fact that there's two of them feels a bit masturbatory,
- 17:11Speaker 1: oh and like indulgent. And I do think and I
- 17:14Speaker 1: even remember as a teenager leaving the second movie, and
- 17:19Speaker 1: it might have been the first time like as a
- 17:23Speaker 1: like as like consciously as a young adult that I
- 17:26Speaker 1: experienced like the disappointment of thinking that a piece of
- 17:31Speaker 1: art was bad rather than just like I didn't like it.
- 17:35Speaker 1: I think I left it being like, oh, that's not
- 17:37Speaker 1: as good as it could have been, and helped me
- 17:42Speaker 1: sort of like in building my like taste when it
- 17:45Speaker 1: came to art. But yeah, I just remember like thinking
- 17:48Speaker 1: it was really like unnecessary.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Yeah, we were talking about it when we were watching it.
- 17:54Speaker 2: And you know, if I'm thinking about the two of
- 17:57Speaker 2: these movies as one film, which is kind of how
- 17:59Speaker 2: I see that, I feel like only the last half
- 18:03Speaker 2: of Volume two was when I was just like, all right,
- 18:05Speaker 2: this is about as good as like the last thirty
- 18:07Speaker 2: minutes of the Lord of the Rings trilogy which I
- 18:09Speaker 2: think is extremely boring and unnecessary.
- 18:11Speaker 1: The last thirty minutes of Kilbill two is like all talking. Yes,
- 18:15Speaker 1: it's so allot Beatrix and Bill talking.
- 18:18Speaker 2: And masturbatory is exactly the word. And these are these
- 18:21Speaker 2: are the parts of the films where I'm just like, Okay,
- 18:23Speaker 2: this was like during an era of movies where they
- 18:25Speaker 2: let white men do literally anything they want with this script.
- 18:28Speaker 2: And it's like these and then the male characters will
- 18:31Speaker 2: just talk and talk and talk and talk, and there's
- 18:34Speaker 2: always just a girl like sitting there like listening for
- 18:36Speaker 2: like no reason, not saying anything. It's like, okay, Quentin Tarantino, Like,
- 18:40Speaker 2: these are the parts where it's just like we we
- 18:42Speaker 2: we get it, we get it, we get it. But
- 18:44Speaker 2: I still loved Volume two. Well.
- 18:46Speaker 1: The fight with Daryl Hannah is the best part of
- 18:50Speaker 1: the movie. And when she snatches her eye out at
- 18:53Speaker 1: the end, Wow, and Daryl Hannah screaming like after she's
- 18:57Speaker 1: been pluck. Yeah, so good. And what Daryl Hannah is incredible?
- 19:02Speaker 1: She an icon, She's so hot and I her. I
- 19:08Speaker 1: was obsessed with her boots while we were watching the movie.
- 19:10Speaker 1: And I really need a county pair of black pointy toe.
- 19:14Speaker 2: You were on essence, Like as soon as those boots,
- 19:17Speaker 2: I was like, yeah, I was sitting there watching the movie,
- 19:20Speaker 2: like searching the essenil rest in peace, And.
- 19:26Speaker 1: I still have not found a good pair of County
- 19:30Speaker 1: l from kill Bill boots. But you know, I will
- 19:34Speaker 1: keep looking. Who of all of the people on the
- 19:43Speaker 1: kill list, on the kill list, who would you most
- 19:45Speaker 1: want to fight or who would you be the most
- 19:48Speaker 1: afraid to fight.
- 19:49Speaker 2: I would be most afraid to fight Lucy Lou. I
- 19:51Speaker 2: would want to fight Bud. Yeah, he was like I
- 19:58Speaker 2: thought that when he buried her the in volume two,
- 20:01Speaker 2: Like I just vividly remember that scene as a child
- 20:03Speaker 2: in how Like it's very viscerally horrifying.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Yeah, the sound design is so really scary suffocating.
- 20:12Speaker 2: Yeah, really scary. And yeah, so him, I think is
- 20:15Speaker 2: like he has like the most deserved revenge, Like I
- 20:18Speaker 2: would love to kill also just a man, of course,
- 20:21Speaker 2: what about you?
- 20:22Speaker 1: I think I would also be the most scared to
- 20:24Speaker 1: fight o Renihie just because she's sickening and she also
- 20:29Speaker 1: has the most sort of infrastructure.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Around her protecting her to kill eighty eight people? Wait,
- 20:34Speaker 2: is it the crazy eighty eight the crazy idea? You
- 20:37Speaker 2: have to kill eighty eight people before.
- 20:38Speaker 1: And then who would I want to fight the most.
- 20:40Speaker 1: I'm not necessarily saying like who who I think needs
- 20:44Speaker 1: to die the most? But I would want to fight
- 20:47Speaker 1: Vernita Green Vic Fox the most because that is like,
- 20:51Speaker 1: there's a reason why that's the first fight in the movie,
- 20:54Speaker 1: because it sets the tone so perfectly.
- 20:57Speaker 2: Yes, and I love And the thing that I love
- 20:59Speaker 2: about the tone throughout the film is this kind of
- 21:01Speaker 2: like blistering violence, shock, horror, high sticks and then pause, joke,
- 21:08Speaker 2: let's talk normal. It's funny that we're talking normal. We're
- 21:11Speaker 2: actually just average people. We just also kill each other sometimes.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Like it's so I just love that dissonance and the language.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Yeah, the language, and like the monologuing, the way that
- 21:21Speaker 1: people say things is so specific and like, yes, there
- 21:25Speaker 1: are some very dark stuff that happens that's intercut with
- 21:28Speaker 1: things that are very funny, like when you find out
- 21:30Speaker 1: that the nurse of the hospital has been charging men
- 21:33Speaker 1: to rape for years, but.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Then the revenge becomes so much sweeter satisfying.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Well, she when she kills both of them.
- 21:42Speaker 2: And she's like, your.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Name's Buck right, and you like to fuck right? And
- 21:48Speaker 1: then kills him it's so satisfying.
- 21:51Speaker 2: God it is. I love revenge fantasies. Revenge fantasy should
- 21:55Speaker 2: be a mainstream genre. That is like busting the summer
- 21:58Speaker 2: box offices.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Also, without kill Bill, we would never have gotten the
- 22:03Speaker 1: pussy Wagon and the telephone music video.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Oh my god, I forgot.
- 22:07Speaker 1: And just for that, Tarantino deserves to have his ass.
- 22:10Speaker 1: Ha no one lick, one lick, one lick, not by me,
- 22:16Speaker 1: but by someone.
- 22:16Speaker 2: No, no, no, He's had his ass like plenty of times.
- 22:20Speaker 1: It's true, I am, but he's never cleaned it.
- 22:24Speaker 2: He's never cleaned it. No, I mean, Fionda Apple probably
- 22:27Speaker 2: hasn't eaten his hass. I think she loves herself a
- 22:30Speaker 2: little too much. Do you think Tarantina Apple has eaten
- 22:37Speaker 2: Tarantina's ass?
- 22:38Speaker 1: Unfortunately? Unfortunately?
- 22:39Speaker 2: I do think.
- 23:05Speaker 1: If you were on a revenge quest, what would be
- 23:08Speaker 1: your weapon of choice?
- 23:09Speaker 2: Well, it's hard to not pick samurai sword. I would
- 23:15Speaker 2: think maybe two twin swords would be pretty dope.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Very like I'm playing right now has two swords. I
- 23:24Speaker 1: would love twin steel s.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Yeah, oh, silver steel for humans, got it, didn't I
- 23:30Speaker 2: didn't know that Now I know I would definitely do
- 23:32Speaker 2: twin swords, and my revenge fantasy would be against maybe
- 23:37Speaker 2: a esthetician who botched a gender firming a piece of
- 23:42Speaker 2: for me.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Sorry, I don't mean to last because it's a joke,
- 23:46Speaker 1: but it's not.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Here's the thing, Okay, let's talk about this. I have
- 23:50Speaker 2: multiple nemesy. You do multiple, and I will not be
- 23:55Speaker 2: naming them on this podcast. And because I really don't
- 23:58Speaker 2: have that many, but I have tried and true people
- 24:02Speaker 2: that if I saw them on the street, my face
- 24:04Speaker 2: would turn red. And and who are those people?
- 24:08Speaker 3: For? You?
- 24:09Speaker 1: Can? You?
- 24:09Speaker 2: Can you think of anybody? Actually? I think we saw
- 24:12Speaker 2: one on.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Well, no, I have who Oh yes, I wouldn't call
- 24:18Speaker 1: him an nemesis.
- 24:19Speaker 2: He kind of hime.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Yeah, but no, someone else called him an nemesis. He's
- 24:22Speaker 1: not really my nemesis. That gives him a little too
- 24:24Speaker 1: much power.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Okay, okay, I had.
- 24:26Speaker 1: An nemesis who died, but I had I've had no
- 24:32Speaker 1: part in his death.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Oh I don't even know who this guy is. Yeah,
- 24:36Speaker 2: well we could cut it.
- 24:36Speaker 1: But my nemesis was oh my anyway, God. So if
- 24:41Speaker 1: I was going to go on a revenge spree, my
- 24:44Speaker 1: weapon of choice, I think i'd want to do daggers
- 24:48Speaker 1: because I did throw. I am like I don't have
- 24:52Speaker 1: good eye coordination. But on a vacationion recently, we were
- 24:55Speaker 1: playing darts and I was pretty good at it. So
- 24:57Speaker 1: I like daggers because you can throw them. But then
- 25:01Speaker 1: they're also for close up combat and it feels very
- 25:05Speaker 1: personal when you stab someone with a dagger.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Yeah, it does. You want to be right there seeing
- 25:10Speaker 2: their eye color, smelling their their glossier, you perfume.
- 25:16Speaker 1: I don't think I would be I don't think I
- 25:18Speaker 1: would have a gun, but I would be very skilled
- 25:22Speaker 1: in martial arts.
- 25:23Speaker 2: I would love to be martial artist. I would also
- 25:27Speaker 2: love a bow and arrow.
- 25:29Speaker 1: What about a crossbow?
- 25:31Speaker 2: No, I would want a bow an arrow, I would
- 25:32Speaker 2: I would want my full like Catnus Legols fantasy. I
- 25:35Speaker 2: think crossbow is too militant.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Oh maybe I'll have an axe.
- 25:40Speaker 2: I don't want anything that resembles give me. Oh, an
- 25:43Speaker 2: axe would be.
- 25:45Speaker 1: What would your okay so Beatrix Kiddo the bride, her
- 25:48Speaker 1: iconic look is the yellow track suit. What would your
- 25:51Speaker 1: iconic revenge fantasy look?
- 25:53Speaker 2: Bem, do you have an answer for this? I'm thinking
- 25:59Speaker 2: Schiparelli he had to toe gold armor SCHEPERELLI yeah, I
- 26:07Speaker 2: think it's got I think it's got to be black leather,
- 26:09Speaker 2: like classic black leather, a really cunty boot, like a
- 26:15Speaker 2: long braid hanging down, because you know, you can't be
- 26:18Speaker 2: fighting with your hair in your face. Yeah, it's got
- 26:20Speaker 2: to be giving. Mortal Kombat, it's got to give. It
- 26:22Speaker 2: be giving like street fodder, Frighter, it's got to be giving.
- 26:25Speaker 2: Finish them, yeah, yeah, them, you know, finish them, them,
- 26:30Speaker 2: Finish they them, finish Zezer.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Finish folks. Would you feel comfortable with civilians dying in
- 26:43Speaker 1: the line of fire in your quest for vengeance?
- 26:46Speaker 2: If it was my fault, that would be pretty I would.
- 26:48Speaker 2: I would probably have a existential crisis in okay. But
- 26:54Speaker 2: but but if it was someone else's fault, I don't
- 26:56Speaker 2: think I would. I would really hold on to that.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Would you kill someone whose child was upstairs, like the
- 27:05Speaker 1: to Bernita Green, and then would you tell the child
- 27:09Speaker 1: that they could come seek vengeance from you?
- 27:10Speaker 2: I thought that was very fair and balanced of her.
- 27:12Speaker 2: And you know, just like, listen, if you're still mad
- 27:15Speaker 2: about this, you can come find mommy.
- 27:16Speaker 1: If you're still pressed, if you're so salty and.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Can come, well, tell your mommy.
- 27:20Speaker 1: And you know, Quentin Tarantino always said that he wanted
- 27:22Speaker 1: to make a sequel years in the future, but I
- 27:26Speaker 1: feel like recently he said something that like that's probably
- 27:29Speaker 1: never gonna happen, really, which is such a Bummercuse.
- 27:32Speaker 2: Yeah, Vivica's daughter like for volume three and volume four.
- 27:36Speaker 2: That means it's an entirely new protagonist. And then Uma
- 27:39Speaker 2: Thurman gets to be the big bad like that's fucking sick.
- 27:43Speaker 2: That would be so oh my god.
- 27:44Speaker 1: And then and then we could have Uma Thurman's daughter
- 27:48Speaker 1: get all grown up.
- 27:49Speaker 2: I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I know we cast India and everything,
- 27:51Speaker 2: but Zindia would be would be so good and oh
- 27:55Speaker 2: my god, wait wait wait total aside. Yes, I was
- 27:58Speaker 2: supposed to talk about this and chit chat I did
- 28:01Speaker 2: see The Greatest Showman. We need to talk about this
- 28:04Speaker 2: in our next chit chat virgins. Don't worry, we'll talk
- 28:07Speaker 2: about it. No no, no, not a full episode. But
- 28:10Speaker 2: I have to tell you you loved it, No, I
- 28:15Speaker 2: I love I thought that it was a near perfect,
- 28:20Speaker 2: perfectly constructed film that is not really for me, that
- 28:25Speaker 2: had excellent music and brilliant twists, and was well acted.
- 28:30Speaker 2: It's just not really for me, but the music is
- 28:32Speaker 2: so good. Anyways, I bring this up, right, I bring
- 28:36Speaker 2: this up because in a future episode we'll talk about
- 28:40Speaker 2: my many takeaways. But the biggest one of the one
- 28:42Speaker 2: of the bigger takeaways that I took away was was
- 28:45Speaker 2: first and foremost, Zendaia needs to be in a good movie,
- 28:52Speaker 2: and she needs to be in a good musical. Like
- 28:57Speaker 2: Greatest Showman is great, but it's not a good musical
- 29:01Speaker 2: or a good movie for Zendaea.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Kill Bill three the musical, That's what I'm saying, Kill
- 29:06Speaker 1: Bell three the musical, Gil three the Musical Star but
- 29:09Speaker 1: it's not directed by Quentin Taranty.
- 29:11Speaker 2: No, no, no, Well that's that. That's the other problem
- 29:13Speaker 2: is that those movies couldn't be made because he would
- 29:15Speaker 2: have his reckoning immediately.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Yeah yeah yeah, Kill Bill three the Musical directed by
- 29:22Speaker 1: Karen Kusama.
- 29:23Speaker 2: He I feel like Quentin Tarantino high key made a
- 29:27Speaker 2: whole ass other film that no one talked about. It
- 29:29Speaker 2: was another Western that no one talked about. Wasn't it
- 29:31Speaker 2: called like the Hateful Eight? It was after Django and Chained,
- 29:33Speaker 2: Like when did Hateful Eight come out? I don't know,
- 29:36Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying I think he's like fully making
- 29:38Speaker 2: movies that no one talks about.
- 29:39Speaker 1: Entry like Inglorious Bastards.
- 29:41Speaker 2: Yes, that was actually really funny.
- 29:43Speaker 1: I didn't see it.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought that was like a successful Quentin Tarantino
- 29:47Speaker 2: project because he's not trying to write for black people,
- 29:52Speaker 2: which is like really hard. It's hard to hear the
- 29:54Speaker 2: script sometimes on some of these other movies.
- 29:57Speaker 1: The thing that sucks about Quentin Tarantino is obviously he's
- 30:00Speaker 1: like probably a bad person. And you know, I'm not
- 30:03Speaker 1: the kind of person who like measures my the things
- 30:07Speaker 1: I like or alters the things I like based on
- 30:10Speaker 1: other people who like them. But the worst men in
- 30:14Speaker 1: the world love Quentin Tarantino, yep, and so and that
- 30:19Speaker 1: is I don't like the intersection.
- 30:21Speaker 2: I don't like being among the worst men I know.
- 30:25Speaker 1: So that's why I'm glad that of his movies, the
- 30:28Speaker 1: ones I love are the girly ones, you know. And
- 30:32Speaker 1: I'm sure that all the fucking horrible dudes out there
- 30:35Speaker 1: who love Tarantino don't love Kill Bill.
- 30:38Speaker 2: Well, they probably like pulp fiction more, yeah, like which
- 30:41Speaker 2: is sorry, a kind of boring movie, But they probably
- 30:43Speaker 2: love reservoir dogs. The masturbatory man talking thing that is
- 30:48Speaker 2: all pulp fiction, like talk doc talk talk talk talk talk.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Oh my god. I mean it's funny because a lot
- 30:54Speaker 2: of times, like the things that I love about Tarantino
- 30:57Speaker 2: are also the things that I hate, because it is
- 30:59Speaker 2: kind of lovely that at this time, like movies had
- 31:02Speaker 2: looser reins and could be much longer, and dialogue could
- 31:05Speaker 2: be longer because people's attention deafit sits and attention spans
- 31:09Speaker 2: hadn't been like mortally, I don't know, wounded wounded by
- 31:14Speaker 2: iPhones and the internet. But anyways, Quentin Tarantino haven't comeback.
- 31:19Speaker 1: I'm just kidding. Just if Quentin Tarantino came out as trans.
- 31:25Speaker 2: Well, then I'm plugged in Mama, like move over which house?
- 31:30Speaker 2: This is a new tour we women, oh one hundred percent.
- 31:35Speaker 2: But the thing is, it has to be a trans name,
- 31:37Speaker 2: and therefore, what if it's just Tina, Well, like Quentin Tarantina.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Tarantina is really funny. Well, I was thinking of Q names,
- 31:46Speaker 2: and I'm thinking about just like trans names in general,
- 31:48Speaker 2: and how if he sorry, if she is trans, then
- 31:53Speaker 2: she has to for her name pick a Greek goddess,
- 31:55Speaker 2: a planet or an herb three joins or no, or
- 32:05Speaker 2: a literary character or a literary character. So her name
- 32:08Speaker 2: could be Quarrel, professor Quarrel, her ce names, her name
- 32:14Speaker 2: could be, her name could be are there any other Quendola?
- 32:28Speaker 2: There are no planets? Or Greek god, Queen Queen, Queen
- 32:33Speaker 2: Queen Tarantina. Well, okay, do you want to hear something hilarious?
- 32:38Speaker 1: Is so?
- 32:39Speaker 2: I obviously like my If you don't know my dead
- 32:42Speaker 2: name by now, you should be able to figure it
- 32:43Speaker 2: out by my social media handle. I have been thinking
- 32:47Speaker 2: about trying to figure out how to change my socially
- 32:50Speaker 2: social media handled to Frans Skuishka. I would never because
- 32:56Speaker 2: it's actually just two on the nose and two gimmicky.
- 32:58Speaker 2: But like he should be, she should be named.
- 33:03Speaker 3: Fuck.
- 33:04Speaker 2: I give miss Gendering Quina Gwendola Tarantina.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Gwendola.
- 33:12Speaker 2: Gwendola's really funny. Gwendola Tarantina is actually her new name.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Do you have a foot fetish?
- 33:40Speaker 2: No, I don't have a foot fetish, but I will
- 33:43Speaker 2: absolutely suck a clean foot if it's in my face,
- 33:47Speaker 2: I will, and I will do it without being asked.
- 33:50Speaker 1: You do you like having your toes suck.
- 33:52Speaker 2: Oh yeah, sometimes it's a little too, it's a little
- 33:55Speaker 2: less sexual and a little more ticklish. But I'm never
- 33:59Speaker 2: gonna say no, what about you? This is a really
- 34:01Speaker 2: great prompt.
- 34:01Speaker 1: But I don't have a foot fetish. But I do
- 34:06Speaker 1: have sort of a go to move, which is that
- 34:08Speaker 1: if I'm like laying down and someone is between my legs,
- 34:13Speaker 1: so to speak, doing something, I will almost oh and
- 34:17Speaker 1: if this person has a dick, I will almost always
- 34:22Speaker 1: reach my foot down, if not both feet to sort
- 34:26Speaker 1: of dig in. Give a foot job. Give either with
- 34:30Speaker 1: one foot sort of teasingly, or both feet and press
- 34:33Speaker 1: them together and create a little channel.
- 34:36Speaker 2: I've definitely given the suggestion of a foot job before,
- 34:41Speaker 2: but it but the feet, definitely. I think that feet
- 34:45Speaker 2: should be insects. And I think that if you are
- 34:49Speaker 2: deterred by feet or just body parts in general, like
- 34:53Speaker 2: I mean, just wash it, Just wash the foot and
- 34:55Speaker 2: eat it.
- 34:56Speaker 1: I just sometimes feel insecure about my feet because I
- 34:58Speaker 1: get I get callouses.
- 34:59Speaker 2: Well, my foot are tore up, Mama, I'm having foot issues.
- 35:05Speaker 2: I have like bunyans, I have calluses, and because of
- 35:09Speaker 2: all the foot where I use their.
- 35:12Speaker 1: Scars, you gotta wiggle your big toe.
- 35:14Speaker 2: I got to wiggle my big toe. No, I have
- 35:15Speaker 2: to get one of those like full foot masts that
- 35:17Speaker 2: like like we're fish like eat off the top three
- 35:20Speaker 2: like layers of my skin.
- 35:21Speaker 1: That is terrifying to me. Do you think I could
- 35:24Speaker 1: do it?
- 35:24Speaker 2: Is that actually? Does that actually work? Ers that like
- 35:26Speaker 2: a fad a fad? Okay, then I'm going because my
- 35:31Speaker 2: feet are I mean, you've seen my feet.
- 35:33Speaker 1: I got a pedicure last weekend and they did not
- 35:36Speaker 1: go hard enough on my calluses. Oh oh, I gotta be,
- 35:39Speaker 1: I gotta be.
- 35:40Speaker 2: I gotta put like a leather belt between my teeth
- 35:42Speaker 2: and grip it. That's how I want to feel when
- 35:45Speaker 2: my Bunyan's when you're when when the lady at the
- 35:47Speaker 2: pedicurist is going at my and my calluses.
- 35:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I want to lose at least two layers of skin.
- 35:53Speaker 2: Yeah. I want to be like holding onto a scream
- 35:58Speaker 2: and not screaming.
- 35:59Speaker 1: You want to be scrump.
- 36:00Speaker 2: I want to be Gwendola Tarantina. There's no cure. We
- 36:09Speaker 2: are force yeah, Quentin Tarantino. I'm sure it's not the
- 36:12Speaker 2: first time we're force beming everybody. It's like the Iggy
- 36:15Speaker 2: Azalea music video. Oh when Quentin Tarantino gives huge chaser vibes,
- 36:19Speaker 2: Oh my god, Well that's a little disrespectful to chasers. Honestly, Uh,
- 36:24Speaker 2: chasers don't deserve respect. Chasers don't deserve respect. But like
- 36:27Speaker 2: I'm saying, like even chasers have more humanity than Quentin Tarantino.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Well, that's why she's gonna transition.
- 36:37Speaker 2: I have previously told a story wherein I was sleeping
- 36:41Speaker 2: with someone who had a boyfriend. This is maybe the
- 36:44Speaker 2: fourth or fifth time I've been the other woman, and
- 36:47Speaker 2: I told the boyfriend's best friend that he was cheating
- 36:53Speaker 2: on him in an uberpool because we randomly were in
- 36:57Speaker 2: an uberpool together. That was pretty evil. But I love
- 37:02Speaker 2: revenge where they never know it was me, right, I
- 37:06Speaker 2: love it.
- 37:07Speaker 1: I want her to note tell Sircy, I want her
- 37:09Speaker 1: to notice me. I guess I got revenge because my
- 37:11Speaker 1: nemesis died.
- 37:12Speaker 2: Your nemesis died.
- 37:15Speaker 1: Although I had no hand in it.
- 37:22Speaker 2: I just schew my I the rather Oh no, i'm singing.
- 37:32Speaker 1: I thought you were singing this is a song.
- 37:35Speaker 2: I am No. I'm just saying I always complain about
- 37:37Speaker 2: you singing, and here I am singing.
- 37:39Speaker 1: Oh well, I'm gonna get my revenge on you.
- 37:41Speaker 2: Yeah, hypocrisy who we know several people who we would
- 37:44Speaker 2: like to get mutual revenge on.
- 37:46Speaker 1: I think yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah. Also, if there's
- 37:52Speaker 1: anyone out there who I have wronged and wants revenge on.
- 37:56Speaker 2: Me, like, go for it. In the words of Lanay
- 38:00Speaker 2: pull Up, pull Up, pull Up, I will absolutely gladly
- 38:05Speaker 2: fight you or also talk it out. I would love
- 38:07Speaker 2: to talk it out. And I'm serious, Like, if you
- 38:09Speaker 2: have a problem with me, I'm not aware of it
- 38:11Speaker 2: because I don't really read the Internet and I don't

- 38:17Speaker 2: I'll be talking to someone and we'll get into a
- 38:19Speaker 2: conversation about social media and people will be like, yeah, well,
- 38:22Speaker 2: I mean, like your gms are crazy, like people hate you,
- 38:25Speaker 2: and I'm like do they? I'm like do they? But
- 38:28Speaker 2: like I don't know because I don't read that.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Literally, I'm that's you're so lucky, Like people have to
- 38:35Speaker 1: move in the world. And now a clip from our
- 38:42Speaker 1: Patreon Become a patron at patreon dot com slash like

- 38:48Speaker 2: More Selling the OC. Yes, that's where we're starting today.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Yeah, so we have both recently consumed the new second
- 38:57Speaker 1: season of Selling the OC.
- 38:59Speaker 2: I watch it, you watch I watch all of it.
- 39:01Speaker 2: It's I mean, you can watch all of it in
- 39:03Speaker 2: a single sitting.
- 39:04Speaker 1: It's I'm going to say something that I don't know
- 39:09Speaker 1: what if you will agree with it? Okay, I think
- 39:12Speaker 1: it has dethroned Selling Sunset. Wait, I think in I
- 39:19Speaker 1: think agree Selling Sunset as it currently is is not
- 39:23Speaker 1: as good as selling the OC. I agree it must
- 39:27Speaker 1: be acknowledged of course that selling Sunset at one point
- 39:30Speaker 1: was like God, to your television is the blueprint. But
- 39:34Speaker 1: now to me, the quality has dipped so low that
- 39:37Speaker 1: actually the bar to de throne it was pretty low.
- 39:39Speaker 1: I think what I identified as the issue is that,
- 39:45Speaker 1: so selling the OC doesn't have the kind of star
- 39:48Speaker 1: power that selling Sunset does because selling Sunset has all
- 39:51Speaker 1: of these people who have become like cultural icons race, right,
- 39:56Speaker 1: So selling Sunset has that star power, But selling OC
- 40:01Speaker 1: has such a such a captivating and cohesive ensemble people
- 40:07Speaker 1: of star power, yes, who are all interacting in a
- 40:12Speaker 1: very actually tight plot line that is about kind of
- 40:17Speaker 1: one major thing which is like reputation and ethics and.
- 40:23Speaker 2: Like purity or the interpretation of it.
- 40:26Speaker 1: Yes, and and you know the sanctity of marriage, and
- 40:31Speaker 1: it must be said like based just on that being
- 40:34Speaker 1: the storyline, it is very obvious that selling the OC
- 40:39Speaker 1: is incredibly conservative.
- 40:41Speaker 2: And OC like Orange County, like those the people that
- 40:46Speaker 2: live there, they want us all dead and like.
- 40:48Speaker 1: And like Alexandra Jarvis is like like vocally like Trump supporter.
- 40:54Speaker 2: Having full full neo Nazi.
- 40:57Speaker 1: Rose Rose, like Robert F. Kenney Junior a lot.
- 41:03Speaker 2: So Rose is giving, like like she used to be
- 41:06Speaker 2: in rooms with Epstein.
- 41:08Speaker 1: Rose is giving. She used to kill small animals for
- 41:11Speaker 1: fun when she was a child. And that's why she's
- 41:15Speaker 1: low key. My favorite character Rose because she is psychotic.
- 41:21Speaker 2: She's so weird and she has no expression in her
- 41:24Speaker 2: eyes at all.
- 41:25Speaker 1: Oh totally dead.
- 41:26Speaker 2: And she is always wearing the craziest most bimbo outfit.
- 41:30Speaker 1: Crazy like she literally shows up to like the time
- 41:33Speaker 1: they went on the boat, she was wearing lingerie as
- 41:36Speaker 1: a bathing suit. Then later that night for dinner she
- 41:38Speaker 1: just wore a bra. And she's also worn just a
- 41:41Speaker 1: broad to like showing wait wait, wait, the yellow outfit
- 41:44Speaker 1: that she wore to the office. I have to find it.
- 41:48Speaker 1: Alex Rose yellow outfits so crazy?
- 41:52Speaker 2: Oh right, her name is Alex Rose, not Rose. It's
- 41:55Speaker 2: so weird. And Jarvis Jarvis and Rose Jarvis. This Jesus Christ, Wait,
- 42:02Speaker 2: what is this weird saggy panty? Like it looks like honestly,
- 42:06Speaker 2: like she's wearing a tablecloth. No, what it looks like
- 42:09Speaker 2: is like it's a body suit.
- 42:11Speaker 1: And she didn't snap the buttons in the middle, just
- 42:14Speaker 1: let these.
- 42:16Speaker 2: She was like, Oh, I just wanted to be as
- 42:17Speaker 2: short as possible. But she's all unhinged.
- 42:21Speaker 1: She's crazy. And I do respect Jarvis for this season
- 42:26Speaker 1: being like, I need a storyline, so what I'm going
- 42:30Speaker 1: to do is break up with my work bestie, my
- 42:32Speaker 1: work wife. And that was very smart of her. I
- 42:35Speaker 1: do have to say, for some reason, Okay, I know
- 42:38Speaker 1: a lot of people don't like Alex Hall, and I
- 42:41Speaker 1: will agree that I don't think she's like compelling. I
- 42:46Speaker 1: don't think she's like as compelling as a protagonist of
- 42:49Speaker 1: the show as she could be. But for some reason,
- 42:53Speaker 1: I got weirdly invested in the whole thing with her
- 42:56Speaker 1: and Tyler when they kissed him, when they kissed. I
- 43:04Speaker 1: screamed into my pillow. Oh, because I was like, finally,
- 43:09Speaker 1: and I like want them to be together, even though
- 43:12Speaker 1: I know they're both bad people, Like he's he's disgusting.
- 43:16Speaker 2: He well, okay, here's the thing, is like I actually
- 43:18Speaker 2: don't so hot. I don't think he's hot. He's like
- 43:21Speaker 2: kind of so hot. I don't find introverts hot. Really,
- 43:24Speaker 2: it's hard for me.
- 43:26Speaker 1: He's so tall. And then when he shut up to
- 43:28Speaker 1: that party in his underwear and you could see his
- 43:30Speaker 1: huge talk.
- 43:31Speaker 2: Go unattractive to me, the most disgusting boxer briefs I've
- 43:35Speaker 2: ever seen in my life. Love that you're not even
- 43:37Speaker 2: gonna spring for like some savage fentie. You fucking ugly?
- 43:40Speaker 2: I could not. Sorry, I know he's not actually ugly,
- 43:43Speaker 2: but I'm infuriated because I actually don't think he's like
- 43:46Speaker 2: I'm okay, of course I'm.
- 43:48Speaker 1: Team Britney Snow let it be said. But he's ex wife.
- 43:53Speaker 1: Oh my god, yeah.
- 43:55Speaker 2: Right, okay, okay, so Tyler being the kind of like
- 43:59Speaker 2: you know, golden goose of a divorcee that everyone is
- 44:02Speaker 2: now trying to gnaw on. It is literally everyone in
- 44:05Speaker 2: that office, Yes, is actually amazing, it's great TV, and
- 44:08Speaker 2: both seasons of the show have now been about how
- 44:10Speaker 2: everyone wants to fuck him, is fucking him, or could
- 44:13Speaker 2: be fucked and the fact that he is actually kind
- 44:15Speaker 2: of like I do believe he is actually really introverted
- 44:19Speaker 2: and is actually really bad at receiving all of this attention.
- 44:22Speaker 2: That doesn't make him any less of like a scummy man,
- 44:25Speaker 2: but I do think he's like wildly ill equipped for
- 44:29Speaker 2: the position he's been put in, funny enough, so that
- 44:31Speaker 2: does make it all the more interesting. Selling the OSI
- 44:34Speaker 2: and Selling Sunset both have this like really really painful production,
- 44:40Speaker 2: like this forced production of a scene, Like every single
- 44:44Speaker 2: scene is so so scripted.
- 44:46Speaker 1: But it is so good.
- 44:47Speaker 2: It is it's good because you know that if you
- 44:49Speaker 2: tried to make them improvise, it would be worse because
- 44:52Speaker 2: they're not smart enough to improvise.
- 44:54Speaker 1: But it is like they are. I do feel I
- 44:58Speaker 1: have always felt with both of these franchises, and like
- 45:01Speaker 1: reality TV in general, like we are getting such a
- 45:05Speaker 1: filtered version of the story, and I think we're selling
- 45:08Speaker 1: the OC specifically, like they decided what the season was
- 45:13Speaker 1: going to be about and like worked backwards from there.
- 45:16Speaker 1: So I always feel like what they're talking about is like,
- 45:20Speaker 1: the emotion is real and the tension is real, it's
- 45:24Speaker 1: just the specifics that are being either exaggerated or straight
- 45:28Speaker 1: up lied about. Yeah, Like, I don't think that was
- 45:31Speaker 1: the first time that Hall and Tyler.
- 45:34Speaker 2: No fucking way unless there are motherfucking pilgrims, like please,
- 45:39Speaker 2: there's I mean, if they if that actually was their
- 45:42Speaker 2: first kiss, I would be so concerned for the state
- 45:48Speaker 2: of heterosexuality, like I am there already there is actually
- 45:51Speaker 2: no there's there's heterosexual people would be I mean, I'm
- 45:56Speaker 2: grateful that heterosexual people don't fuck like baggats, but if
- 45:58Speaker 2: they did, society would collapse, but also that everyone would
- 46:02Speaker 2: be so much happier.
