- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah, that Chuck Norris was chasing the Tyrannosaurus Rex. The
- 0:06Speaker 1: rex was not chasing the jeep. Murray, Murray, you there.
- 0:10Speaker 1: You love sandwiches. Huh, Let's go to eighty. It was
- 0:14Speaker 1: bo wow that Prime Time. Maybe I had a crush
- 0:18Speaker 1: on Betty Rubbell. I honestly, until after the segment ended
- 0:21Speaker 1: and we went to commercial break, had no idea that
- 0:24Speaker 1: Jonathan Coachman was black. He caught them the game last night,
- 0:27Speaker 1: although they won the game. You're listening just to Godsend Company.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Outside of my brother, he's the only man I know
- 0:34Speaker 1: that shares the same birthday as me, July twenty ninth.
- 0:38Speaker 1: His birthday was yesterday. Unlike me, he spent it with
- 0:40Speaker 1: the people who love him the most, his family. What
- 0:45Speaker 1: did you do yesterday? Happy birthday to you, add dam
- 0:48Speaker 1: and what did you do yesterday?
- 0:50Speaker 2: Happy Birthday?
- 0:51Speaker 3: Back at just the Birthday Buddies edition, our friend Dan
- 0:54Speaker 3: Stanzek of course texted me yeah, and he, like me,
- 0:57Speaker 3: relies on just seeing a date and still remembering the birthday.
- 1:00Speaker 3: I saw July twenty ninth, and I go yep, intergots
- 1:03Speaker 3: and noted documentary in ken Burns.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Yes, the birthday is Getty Lee.
- 1:09Speaker 3: We'll meet the actor Steven Dorothy, actor Jennings, great newscaster
- 1:13Speaker 3: Canadians and the great birthday and you know you other people.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Yes, and the great Eric Wiener.
- 1:17Speaker 4: Don't leave him out. I mean, and I asked a
- 1:19Speaker 4: question there. You guys are not twins. No, so your
- 1:23Speaker 4: parents are just very on schedule yet three years to
- 1:26Speaker 4: the day.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Yes if you like that.
- 1:30Speaker 3: For you and my nephews only want to know that
- 1:32Speaker 3: the exact same birthday and yet not playing like not twins,
- 1:35Speaker 3: not plans, just happens that way.
- 1:36Speaker 2: I want to kick it before I tell my birthday
- 1:38Speaker 2: plans this day.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Izzy, If I said to you at Birk and John
- 1:42Speaker 3: Stugot's Wieners show the same birthday, what similarities do they share?
- 1:46Speaker 2: What would you say?
- 1:48Speaker 1: They're both sports media superstars, thank you? They both man?
- 1:53Speaker 1: Uh what else? They both like tennis? We love tennis. Yes, yeah,
- 2:01Speaker 1: I think that wraps it up, Hill.
- 2:04Speaker 2: How about yourself?
- 2:06Speaker 5: So yesterday when I when I told my girlfriend that
- 2:09Speaker 5: it was Stuve Gott's birthday, she said that makes sense
- 2:14Speaker 5: with his astrology sign. And when she said that, she said,
- 2:17Speaker 5: he's loud, he's boisterous. I think you two kind of
- 2:20Speaker 5: shared that to where maybe something in your charts is
- 2:23Speaker 5: lining up, saying, oh, there's something there to it.
- 2:27Speaker 3: I love that you want astrology like you went right
- 2:29Speaker 3: and that's what my Texas do in the morning, wrote
- 2:31Speaker 3: right away, just a couple of leos cutting it up.
- 2:35Speaker 2: We are proud Leody by then, when I.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Asked him what simlinars do we share, he said, you
- 2:41Speaker 3: both love the sound of your own boys, so it's
- 2:43Speaker 3: kind of along the same lines.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, yes, well christ you know something about that.
- 2:47Speaker 3: Sure, I'm sure Steve got's a kid growing up. You
- 2:50Speaker 3: went to the Long Island Beach, l I be we
- 2:52Speaker 3: went to the Jersey Shore, which is a Jersey staple.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Had a great time, you know. Obviously, pizza I came
- 2:56Speaker 3: all the rest of it. I'm not sure about you
- 2:58Speaker 3: guys again, maybe eas you or spoiled by being all
- 2:59Speaker 3: the water. Uh, but it's you know you you just
- 3:02Speaker 3: pray for good waves. Quite frankly, you get there, it's
- 3:05Speaker 3: seventy eight.
- 3:05Speaker 2: It's overcast.
- 3:07Speaker 3: That great moment when you're lying on the beach and
- 3:08Speaker 3: the sun hits you, there's nothing better, and then he's
- 3:10Speaker 3: replaced by clouds. For about twelve minutes in the dark
- 3:12Speaker 3: glue me. And then also it comes back to sun again.
- 3:14Speaker 3: You go, yes, this is the best. It's back to
- 3:16Speaker 3: clouds again, and you go on the water freezing like, go, jeez,
- 3:19Speaker 3: it's so cold. God, I gotta just adds to it,
- 3:21Speaker 3: and it's so salty.
- 3:22Speaker 2: It get smashed.
- 3:23Speaker 3: But I have to tell you there's no better feeling.
- 3:25Speaker 3: I love that wave comes at you and I'm a
- 3:28Speaker 3: short guy. Means to also show that come we're yes.
- 3:30Speaker 4: I was gonna say that, but I wasn't a thousand
- 3:31Speaker 4: percent sure, and I didn't want to insult you.
- 3:33Speaker 6: If if a dan is short, you orange sure this
- 3:36Speaker 6: couldn't remember he's short, yes, or if we ticket fence
- 3:42Speaker 6: to me, or because it's not necessarily short, but you
- 3:45Speaker 6: know I'm short, Yes, yes.
- 3:47Speaker 2: I think five average soon and I are not five.
- 3:50Speaker 1: We're both let some five tails anyway.
- 3:52Speaker 3: But when that wave comes at you, and this sucker
- 3:54Speaker 3: is like six five the best like because you just
- 3:57Speaker 3: you just hold on tight, just say you're you're about
- 3:59Speaker 3: to get walloped. It's as closest I can imagine getting
- 4:01Speaker 3: body checked by Scott Stevens.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Like you're just getting smashed by the water and then
- 4:05Speaker 2: the water. If you like that feeling, Oh yeah, the
- 4:08Speaker 2: water like a ride. The water's dragging you know where
- 4:12Speaker 2: you're going. You go a little bit further.
- 4:13Speaker 3: It could be a riptid like yeah that it's say
- 4:15Speaker 3: good night an you'll.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Never see me again.
- 4:17Speaker 2: I got dragged by a riptide. But maybe it's weird.
- 4:19Speaker 2: But that feeling is a big ass wave coming at you.
- 4:22Speaker 1: I live for it. It's interesting because as I get older.
- 4:25Speaker 1: We've discussed this on the show. I like the beach
- 4:28Speaker 1: less and less. I mean just the sun, the sand,
- 4:31Speaker 1: the sand getting everywhere. It's not worth it, you know,
- 4:34Speaker 1: I don't want to be at that point.
- 4:36Speaker 2: It's kind of like snow.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Your kid.
- 4:37Speaker 2: You love the snow. Growing up Canada, we get snow small.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Oh my god, a snow.
- 4:41Speaker 3: Does a great As an adult, you despise it. Holy crap,
- 4:43Speaker 3: when's this white stuff gonna go?
- 4:44Speaker 2: How much stuff do you have to shovel? And similar
- 4:46Speaker 2: to the beach, the sand is is just insane. You
- 4:49Speaker 2: go to the tower to take the trunks off, sand
- 4:51Speaker 2: all over my bathroom tile.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Just discuss.
- 4:55Speaker 2: And you feel like that sand feeling doesn't leave.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Like later on my wife was you smell like a MEA,
- 5:01Speaker 3: I took a shower because now you got that sand
- 5:03Speaker 3: smelling right?
- 5:04Speaker 1: Yes, you still feel like the beach a day later,
- 5:07Speaker 1: right you do? Yes, Yes, it's uncomfortable. I don't want
- 5:10Speaker 1: to be that guy, Adnan.
- 5:12Speaker 4: But ever since I got my boat, I'm more of
- 5:14Speaker 4: a sandbar person and not really a beach person.
- 5:17Speaker 1: If I look like I'd be all over the beach,
- 5:19Speaker 1: are you kidding me? I mean no, but.
- 5:21Speaker 2: I'm I'm with that.
- 5:25Speaker 1: I'd live on the beach.
- 5:26Speaker 3: The boat guy and listen years ago said to me,
- 5:29Speaker 3: when you don't grow up as an affluent person, hey,
- 5:31Speaker 3: if you're rich, and would you want I said, well,
- 5:32Speaker 3: I you know, I don't golf.
- 5:33Speaker 2: I don't I don't snow, I don't ski. Sorry, I
- 5:36Speaker 2: hitch hiker.
- 5:37Speaker 3: What it's called the horse hiking whatever it's called hitchhiking,
- 5:39Speaker 3: not hitch hiking, the hiking you do in.
- 5:41Speaker 2: The snow whatever.
- 5:41Speaker 3: I'm going to start so shio hiking. And I said,
- 5:44Speaker 3: you know what would be I go a boat?
- 5:46Speaker 2: When someone says you have a boat, I okay, someone's done.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Well for themselves.
- 5:49Speaker 3: The late great Phil Harton one of my favorite SNL
- 5:51Speaker 3: cast members. He grew up middle class Toronto, much like myself,
- 5:54Speaker 3: like what did you do when you had some money?
- 5:55Speaker 2: Figures? I bought a boat and what did you do?
- 5:57Speaker 2: I just sat on my boat.
- 5:59Speaker 3: I hired a guy who would take me around on
- 6:03Speaker 3: my boat. And that's why I knew I had made
- 6:04Speaker 3: it so cut on you? Is he Taylor put it
- 6:06Speaker 3: on the pole?
- 6:07Speaker 1: Would hitch hiking be an odd hobby.
- 6:13Speaker 4: In twenty twenty six?
- 6:14Speaker 1: I feel like everybody did.
- 6:15Speaker 3: When's the last time you hitch hiked? Or even better,
- 6:18Speaker 3: whence the last of you picked up a hitchhiker? I
- 6:21Speaker 3: mean that is Darren mber my dad do it as
- 6:23Speaker 3: a kid, and years now I look back.
- 6:25Speaker 2: When I go, what were you thinking? He goes, you know,
- 6:27Speaker 2: we're all Canadian just trying to help each other.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Right, they could have had a knife. They could have
- 6:30Speaker 3: He goes, No, that's not gonna happen. The guy just
- 6:31Speaker 3: needs to ride his car broke down. I go, that
- 6:33Speaker 3: is that is daring. I would never pitch your my head.
- 6:35Speaker 4: Yeah, I was mortified until you said reminded me it
- 6:37Speaker 4: was in Canada. I was like, it's okay, everybody's nice.
- 6:40Speaker 1: That was yeah, you know, but once in a while
- 6:43Speaker 1: you pick up an Archie Graham on the side of
- 6:45Speaker 1: the road. You know.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Other thing I would think to do if I had money,
- 6:51Speaker 3: it would be to collect art, but I have so little.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Interested in doing it.
- 6:55Speaker 3: I would do it solely for the purpose of appearing
- 6:58Speaker 3: to be rich and foofy place.
- 7:00Speaker 2: What's this thing I'll want to brand?
- 7:02Speaker 1: What I know?
- 7:04Speaker 3: I need to appreciation for hiring a go I don't
- 7:06Speaker 3: I couldn't kill. I'm disgusted by quite frank. I wish
- 7:09Speaker 3: I would have bought some more Roger Federer pictures. But
- 7:11Speaker 3: you they think I'm dignified. I have taste ever rem
- 7:14Speaker 3: brand right heard somebody has that kind of taste like
- 7:17Speaker 3: we're just we're speaking different languages here.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Taylor also put this on the pole at stig Got
- 7:21Speaker 1: seven ninety on X. Is the beach the worst place
- 7:25Speaker 1: to eat lunch? I don't know if there's a worse
- 7:27Speaker 1: place to eat any sort of meal than on a beach.
- 7:30Speaker 1: I mean it's just terrible. You sand in the food,
- 7:33Speaker 1: sand in your mouth, sand everywhere. I'm tired of sand.
- 7:36Speaker 2: And I'll even go further too. I'm shocked people have
- 7:38Speaker 2: stea food at the beach. Now you'd say, well, but
- 7:40Speaker 2: it's the beast.
- 7:41Speaker 3: I go, yeah, but I think you're gonna have there's
- 7:43Speaker 3: a high risk of bad seafood there, the contamination like oysters.
- 7:47Speaker 5: At a beach.
- 7:48Speaker 3: You're you're living a very brisky life.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Can I just straighten something out real quick?
- 7:53Speaker 4: Because I just want to make sure that I can
- 7:54Speaker 4: confirm that I am average height. So all my life,
- 7:58Speaker 4: I've thought that five to five ten in that range
- 8:02Speaker 4: is an average height for an American, which is like different.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Parts of the world, people are shorter, taller, whatever.
- 8:06Speaker 4: Sure, and so I just looked it up again and
- 8:07Speaker 4: I went to centimeters because I know I'm one seventy
- 8:10Speaker 4: seven point one centimeters and the average American height is
- 8:13Speaker 4: one seventy five point three centimeters somewhere a little bit
- 8:16Speaker 4: above five to nine. So yeah, I think five to
- 8:19Speaker 4: ten might be tall.
- 8:20Speaker 1: H wow.
- 8:22Speaker 3: I never thought five to ten was tall. I thought
- 8:24Speaker 3: you said, I'm like a little shorter than average. You
- 8:27Speaker 3: here telling me five nine taill?
- 8:28Speaker 2: How tall are you?
- 8:29Speaker 5: I'm five nine, five to ten, Yeah, culture to five.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Nine, closer to five. I like you, honestly, you could
- 8:35Speaker 2: you could have lied slightly a little average height.
- 8:39Speaker 1: That's good. It's good to do not shorter as you
- 8:41Speaker 1: get older too. Yes, but a standard answer to that
- 8:43Speaker 1: question is always giving your actual height and then one
- 8:45Speaker 1: inch taller.
- 8:46Speaker 6: You know, it's a great point, that is you just said,
- 8:50Speaker 6: do get shorter.
- 8:50Speaker 3: I thought it was a myth. I spread my whole life.
- 8:53Speaker 3: I'm getting shorter one quarter whole life.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Yes, what's last week?
- 8:56Speaker 2: Every year I get a physical?
- 8:57Speaker 1: Why am I looking at.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Five seventy one quarter? It stopp lying to me it's
- 9:01Speaker 3: five five seven and one quarter.
- 9:03Speaker 1: I go, I want to see the proof.
- 9:05Speaker 2: You lost. I need that.
- 9:08Speaker 3: It's back next week when we talk, I'll be five
- 9:11Speaker 3: to six. Never mind a guy lying in this height
- 9:17Speaker 3: white fake.
- 9:17Speaker 1: I'm amused.
- 9:18Speaker 3: But the great Steve Weissman, we worked together at ESPN.
- 9:20Speaker 3: You and ire Thedac same height. So if I'm five eight,
- 9:22Speaker 3: he's five. And if I'm five to seven, he's five seven.
- 9:24Speaker 3: You know when he was five nine. I go, hell,
- 9:27Speaker 3: maybe i'd say two inches off, But I said, I'm
- 9:30Speaker 3: knocking you that guy that calls another guy. Whereas my
- 9:32Speaker 3: friend Thomas Sakey long term New York calendar, he will
- 9:34Speaker 3: do that. The other day, I said, I'm five eight
- 9:35Speaker 3: because you're not.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Five minue you sat him a bit.
- 9:37Speaker 1: What white?
- 9:37Speaker 2: He just let me have it.
- 9:38Speaker 1: You can know that, By the way, this is why
- 9:42Speaker 1: you're great. I mean, there are many reasons, but when
- 9:44Speaker 1: you went to a body check, the person you chose
- 9:47Speaker 1: was the perfect person. In Scott Stevens.
- 9:52Speaker 3: I wanted to say Chris Jelly because my doppel ganger
- 9:55Speaker 3: and a great American hockey player. But if somebody said
- 9:57Speaker 3: to you body check, word association, you would say got Stevens.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Like for an era of hockey players, that guy was
- 10:02Speaker 2: the hardest hitter ever.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Was great. What are you expecting here before the MLB
- 10:06Speaker 1: trade deadline? What are you expecting to happen here?
- 10:09Speaker 2: Oh, third school is gonna get traded? Heyes to last
- 10:12Speaker 2: I loved A. J.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Hincher's respots. It sounded so condescending. A reporter said to him,
- 10:17Speaker 3: if it was Scooble's last start, you know, what are.
- 10:19Speaker 2: You gonna think of it?
- 10:19Speaker 3: He goes, well, guys, guys, I'm not gonna answer hypotheticals.
- 10:22Speaker 3: And that's the whole job is hypotheticals. They can't win five,
- 10:25Speaker 3: It might be a lose five straight. How the thing's
- 10:27Speaker 3: gonna happen to him? If you just lived in concrete answers.
- 10:29Speaker 3: You couldn't give an answer to anything. So when he said, hey,
- 10:32Speaker 3: if this is school's last start, what will your memories
- 10:34Speaker 3: be able?
- 10:35Speaker 2: Guys, I'm not gonna get into it. I'm just gonna
- 10:37Speaker 2: have to wait and see what happens. What a terrible answer.
- 10:40Speaker 3: Just because the guy was a great tiger he won
- 10:41Speaker 3: to Young's and of course we're gonna trade it.
- 10:43Speaker 2: We're not very good.
- 10:44Speaker 3: We pissed away too their lead yesterday to Troy's not
- 10:46Speaker 3: going anywhere. So school is gonna get traded. And to
- 10:48Speaker 3: make things exciting, stup I think he goes the Rays,
- 10:51Speaker 3: which is unbelievable because the Rays are a team that
- 10:53Speaker 3: can't spend myny with the big boys.
- 10:54Speaker 2: We all know that. But they've got great prospects, and
- 10:57Speaker 2: your's what the story was.
- 10:58Speaker 3: They wanted o Taani and they're willing to trade at
- 11:00Speaker 3: the time an unheralded prospect now a great player in
- 11:03Speaker 3: Junior Cameron Ero. Imagine if the Angels had Junior camen
- 11:06Speaker 3: Are for the next ten years, they could have had
- 11:07Speaker 3: him to trade o' tawni. So the Raiser flushed with
- 11:09Speaker 3: the prospects. If scoobl goes anywhere. They're the number one destination.
- 11:12Speaker 3: So that's not good news for Taylor's Yankees, but they
- 11:15Speaker 3: may have to deal with Trek Scubel and the Rays
- 11:16Speaker 3: and a short series.
- 11:17Speaker 2: The other one is the Brewers.
- 11:18Speaker 3: Again, small market team, can't spend, no problem, We've got prospects.
- 11:22Speaker 3: Imagine Scooball goes to the Brewers and now you go
- 11:24Speaker 3: Scooble against the Dodgers in a playoff series. Either option
- 11:27Speaker 3: is tantalizing as long as Detroit trades him.
- 11:30Speaker 5: And in what do you think the market is for
- 11:31Speaker 5: Freddie Perrault on the Mets, because the Mets are going
- 11:34Speaker 5: to get rid of him. He's an expiring contract, but
- 11:36Speaker 5: he's had a kind of a down year in terms
- 11:39Speaker 5: of numbers this season.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Kind of yeah, yeah, he's Unfortunately, you're being kind to
- 11:44Speaker 3: Stew's Mets. They got him and the first thought was
- 11:47Speaker 3: they're gonna sign to an extension. Thank god that extension
- 11:50Speaker 3: didn't get side. I love to look back at sports
- 11:52Speaker 3: and say, WHOA, we dodged a bullet there, right.
- 11:56Speaker 2: The Blue Mays offered Kyle Tucker twelve years six.
- 12:00Speaker 3: The Mets offered four for two forty. He took the
- 12:03Speaker 3: Dodgers four for two to forty. Kyle Tucker is currently
- 12:06Speaker 3: hitting seventh. He's hitting two thirty nine. He has nine
- 12:09Speaker 3: home runs. It is the worst sixty million dollars ever
- 12:12Speaker 3: spent in a baseball player, and nobody mentions it because
- 12:14Speaker 3: Dodgers are on pace one hundred and five games. So
- 12:16Speaker 3: we blew sixty million dollars in the wrong direction. Freddy
- 12:18Speaker 3: Parolta was gonna get by Ste's Mets twenty million dollars,
- 12:21Speaker 3: twenty five million dollars year, eight years, two hundred.
- 12:24Speaker 2: They were discussing it. Par Alta wanted more. Then he
- 12:26Speaker 2: went out there.
- 12:26Speaker 3: It was absolutely atrocious, and the Mets like, who, thank god,
- 12:29Speaker 3: we could dump this guy. We'll get a bag of
- 12:31Speaker 3: balls from it and avoid what could have been a
- 12:33Speaker 3: catastrophic contract. So Parolta's been a great pitcher in the past,
- 12:36Speaker 3: he picked a terrible time till the worst season of
- 12:39Speaker 3: his career.
- 12:39Speaker 2: He's got an ERA Round five.
- 12:41Speaker 3: But the starting pitching market is slim after Scooball, So
- 12:44Speaker 3: guys like Parolta, guys like Reed Debtmer's, guys like Kevin
- 12:47Speaker 3: Gosman the Blue Jays, who's also having a down season.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Four point sixty ra they will get traded and they'll
- 12:53Speaker 3: get something in return. But obviously for the Mets, if
- 12:55Speaker 3: he was really good, they would have kept him and
- 12:57Speaker 3: signed him long term.
- 12:58Speaker 1: There are those headphones. Yeah, and man, it's so tricky
- 13:01Speaker 1: now for Major League Baseball teams because of the wild Guard.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Such a great rule, by the way, because now you
- 13:06Speaker 1: have you know, you have fifteen teams who are who
- 13:09Speaker 1: normally would be out of it. Their fan bases are excited,
- 13:11Speaker 1: they're in it. They have a chance of making it
- 13:13Speaker 1: to the postseason. So it's hard to figure out whether
- 13:16Speaker 1: or not you should be a buyer or selling. Like
- 13:18Speaker 1: the Red Sox, I don't know what the hell they're
- 13:19Speaker 1: supposed to do.
- 13:20Speaker 3: You know you're bang onto the Red Sox two weeks
- 13:23Speaker 3: say one of the strong when they swept the Yankees
- 13:25Speaker 3: and then never looked back. Sam Kennedy, their president, said,
- 13:28Speaker 3: unless something drastic changes, we're going to be sellers.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Of course we're going to be.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Were last place of the division and probably the team
- 13:34Speaker 3: took it personally, Yes, and their.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Not is unbelievable winnings.
- 13:37Speaker 3: They've went twenty two to twenty six games, and now
- 13:39Speaker 3: they could be buyers. They could be well, the best
- 13:40Speaker 3: teams the American League. So I think they're definitely buyers
- 13:43Speaker 3: now that to go out and get a bat and
- 13:44Speaker 3: supplement their offense. But the pitching has been lights out,
- 13:47Speaker 3: so you're right, Boston should be buying. You look at
- 13:49Speaker 3: a team like Minnesota and you say, well, they're probably
- 13:52Speaker 3: not very good, they're about five hundred, but you're three
- 13:54Speaker 3: games into a wildcard spot, like.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Conceivably, you got a little winning streak, you can do it.
- 13:57Speaker 3: So twenty three teams, three teams are within three and
- 14:01Speaker 3: a half games of a playoff spot. So the good
- 14:03Speaker 3: news is a lot of teams, a lot of fan
- 14:05Speaker 3: bases will be interested in the baseball season the later
- 14:08Speaker 3: we go because they'll have a chance. The bad news
- 14:10Speaker 3: is for the trade deadline, there's less sellers. So in
- 14:12Speaker 3: the passion, you go, hey, there's twelve teams at stink.
- 14:14Speaker 3: They're all trading their guys. Now it's like maybe five
- 14:17Speaker 3: or six teams, but it's supply versus demand, drives up
- 14:20Speaker 3: the price for all those trek Scoobles and whoever. The
- 14:22Speaker 3: guys who will get traded, which could be good for
- 14:23Speaker 3: your mets. Your mets are clearly selling, so they're gonna
- 14:25Speaker 3: get some guys back in return, no doubt about it.
- 14:27Speaker 5: And what did you think of Bryce Harper playing GM
- 14:29Speaker 5: in Philadelphia saying I think we need some help, and
- 14:32Speaker 5: then don Mattingly kind of pushing against it, saying, well,
- 14:35Speaker 5: if you think we need some help, that means you
- 14:37Speaker 5: think some of these teammates you have aren't aren't that good.
- 14:40Speaker 3: No, I was okay with Brice making the comment, like
- 14:43Speaker 3: I think any player just says, hey, we're good, but
- 14:45Speaker 3: we could always get better, to be there's something wrong
- 14:47Speaker 3: with that. I was surprised Madly kind of went back
- 14:49Speaker 3: at them, like, I think that's kind of a private conversation.
- 14:51Speaker 3: Donnie goes, hey, when you say we like if there's
- 14:54Speaker 3: vastly me so we need some more outside shooting, that's
- 14:56Speaker 3: kind of knocking the outside shooters in the team. Or
- 14:58Speaker 3: if you say we need the right handed best, huh,
- 15:00Speaker 3: we have three right hitded batches, just saying those guys stink,
- 15:02Speaker 3: Like you could see how that would be misconstrued or
- 15:05Speaker 3: properly construed as a public criticism, but instead of it publicly.
- 15:08Speaker 3: I was a little surprised that Donnie Baseball took that tack,
- 15:11Speaker 3: but Philly is struggling right now, There's no doubt about it.
- 15:13Speaker 3: And apparently they're looking at the Blue Jays and trying
- 15:15Speaker 3: to son everybody there. My buddy John Fisher just sent
- 15:17Speaker 3: me a text, go and we'll take all your guys.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Is what are you talking about?
- 15:19Speaker 2: And it said Philly has multiple needs. Toronto has available
- 15:22Speaker 2: veterans in those areas.
- 15:23Speaker 3: Gosspin, Bieber, Hoffman, Springer varshow just trade all five guys,
- 15:27Speaker 3: take them all to Philadelphia, make it end and easy,
- 15:29Speaker 3: and just like Lebron, they can all live in Brooklyn
- 15:31Speaker 3: and not actually live in Philadelphia. Cannot believe that straight,
- 15:35Speaker 3: unbelievable knock against the great city of Philadelphia. Cherry Hill
- 15:38Speaker 3: hadn't felt great suburbs are going now Lebron's I'd rather
- 15:42Speaker 3: take a chopper.
- 15:42Speaker 2: I rather live the JJ Redick life.
- 15:44Speaker 1: And who is this John Fisher? By the way, this
- 15:47Speaker 1: guy texting you is this guy John Fisher?
- 15:50Speaker 3: You'd love it'd be a great researcher at ESPN with
- 15:52Speaker 3: me for years on Baseball Tonight, then went to CBS.
- 15:55Speaker 3: Was the researcher that now he's actually back at ESPN,
- 15:57Speaker 3: so much like the Golicks, he's made his return, and
- 16:01Speaker 3: he's one of those guys.
- 16:02Speaker 2: It's funny. Most people leave ESPN and it's good written.
- 16:05Speaker 1: It's right.
- 16:05Speaker 3: Oh man, Bristol sucks middle of nowhere, and it's much
- 16:08Speaker 3: better wherever insert place that you may be. He's one
- 16:10Speaker 3: of the few guys that, while living in Manhattan, goes,
- 16:13Speaker 3: I got miss connect Can I go fin?
- 16:16Speaker 2: There's no space here? Cyb too, damn loud. I miss
- 16:20Speaker 2: having a lawn, I miss going to the beach, and
- 16:22Speaker 2: I go, Okay, fair enough Connecticut life up, fair enough?
- 16:25Speaker 1: Right, move to Long Island?
- 16:26Speaker 2: Then, I mean you have to live in New York City.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Go to Long Island, right, Yes, lots of people suburbs
- 16:32Speaker 3: come on Connecticut, Connecticut right.
- 16:35Speaker 1: No one is No one's clamoring for Connecticut, Mike. He's
- 16:38Speaker 1: been looking to get out of it for I don't know,
- 16:39Speaker 1: fifteen twenty years now. By the way, if i'm don maddingly,
- 16:42Speaker 1: I tell Bryce harp Or publicly, hey, you're batting one
- 16:45Speaker 1: sixty seven in July. Play better and I won't need
- 16:48Speaker 1: to trade anyone, you know. How about that?
- 16:50Speaker 3: It's a great point, dude, I would proach just batting average.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Think of when we were kids, you're probably yelling at
- 16:56Speaker 3: the television, going, how can wally Back when only hitting
- 16:58Speaker 3: two eighty five and now wally.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Back when it would be the third best hitter in
- 17:02Speaker 2: the league.
- 17:02Speaker 3: I am not exaggering when I tell you there are
- 17:05Speaker 3: two guys in the American League hitting above three hundred.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Let that sink in. Two dudes.
- 17:10Speaker 3: There used to be twenty two dudes or forty two dudes.
- 17:13Speaker 3: Now it's no, there's a crap. Just strike out and
- 17:15Speaker 3: swing for the fences, and two guys arek about three hundred.
- 17:18Speaker 3: That's why it feels like it's almost a certainty. Yord
- 17:20Speaker 3: On albros Is going to win the triple crowd because
- 17:22Speaker 3: he clearly has the power and the home runs in RBIs.
- 17:25Speaker 2: The issue is the batting average.
- 17:26Speaker 3: But there's no to use that an old phrase, punching
- 17:28Speaker 3: judy hitters, those guys who are just like you know,
- 17:31Speaker 3: oh for one for three hitters, flick at the ball
- 17:32Speaker 3: the opposite field quite frankly, a Letny Dyksher or a
- 17:35Speaker 3: wally Back when they don't exist. And now it's a
- 17:38Speaker 3: lot easier for these guys. So you're right, Brice Togall
- 17:39Speaker 3: once he's justcept no big deal. I'm slugging five twenty.
- 17:42Speaker 3: My war is this, my launch angle is this.
- 17:43Speaker 2: It's like, come on, man, hit the ball, let's go.
- 17:45Speaker 4: And then you mentioned the way NBA players do it
- 17:47Speaker 4: right when they ask, when they say they need help.
- 17:50Speaker 4: Lebron said, was it last year of the year before
- 17:51Speaker 4: he said, we don't have a whole lot of lasers meeting,
- 17:53Speaker 4: We don't have a whole lot of you know, drop
- 17:55Speaker 4: dead shooters. And nobody took that as an insult to
- 17:57Speaker 4: anybody on the team, because hey, they really don't.
- 17:59Speaker 1: There's only so many as I do that.
- 18:00Speaker 4: That's why when I read Mattingly's quote specifically when he said,
- 18:04Speaker 4: I mean Bryce is Bryce. He's going to say whatever
- 18:06Speaker 4: he wants. I'm not really concerned about it, especially given
- 18:09Speaker 4: how long you know, he's been the manager. Feels like
- 18:11Speaker 4: that's what everybody thinks about him, right, it feels like
- 18:13Speaker 4: that's just Bryce is a loud mouth, and maybe they
- 18:16Speaker 4: you know, his mouth outweighs his performance.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:20Speaker 3: I met Bryce Harper spring first time last year and
- 18:23Speaker 3: in the course of the eye and he was very
- 18:25Speaker 3: nice and we have a kinship with both Flyers fans.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Obviously, a son is a big flowers. When we're talking connecting,
- 18:29Speaker 2: blah blah blah.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Do we do the interview?
- 18:30Speaker 2: You know what it's like is you don't want to
- 18:32Speaker 2: pardon the expression, shoot your load.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Before the actual interviews, you're kind of just your kimmit's
- 18:35Speaker 3: around the actual topics.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Then you actually ask him the questions you want to ask.
- 18:38Speaker 2: So anyways, as we're talking, interview is fun.
- 18:40Speaker 3: But in the Evincevito, I said to him, you know
- 18:42Speaker 3: you're an interesting guy because I said, when you started
- 18:44Speaker 3: your career, I think a lot of people found you
- 18:47Speaker 3: alienating and cocky, a little bit difficult, and now over
- 18:49Speaker 3: time I feel like more people run for you.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Do you see that too? And Bryce laughed. He was like, yeah, absolutely,
- 18:56Speaker 2: he said.
- 18:56Speaker 3: You know I was in the cover Sports illustrew I
- 18:58Speaker 3: was sixteen years old, and I play the game with
- 19:00Speaker 3: a certain amout of brassus and arrogance.
- 19:02Speaker 2: If somebody's in it, I don't apologize for that.
- 19:04Speaker 3: And I said, but it's changed a bit, like now
- 19:06Speaker 3: people are like, yeah, I like the I like the
- 19:07Speaker 3: fact he's cocked, I the deact's this.
- 19:08Speaker 2: But now that was a year and a half go conversation.
- 19:11Speaker 2: I kind of think it's flipped again.
- 19:13Speaker 3: It went from like, man, this guy is so cocky annoying,
- 19:15Speaker 3: to oh, he's a great player too, to mad maybe
- 19:16Speaker 3: tell im like, hey, he's kind of cocky annoying.
- 19:18Speaker 2: He's only anthing one sixty seven the month of July.
- 19:20Speaker 3: It's a little more put up for shot up that
- 19:21Speaker 3: when it comes to Bryce Harper and this Phillies team
- 19:23Speaker 3: in general. I mean, we like to knock the Mets
- 19:26Speaker 3: and say, oh, they spend so much way they don't win.
- 19:27Speaker 2: When's the loss than.
- 19:28Speaker 3: The Phillies won a World Series, right, They're one of
- 19:29Speaker 3: these teams always in the mix, never actually coming through.
- 19:32Speaker 3: So I do think the pressures on Bryce Harper and
- 19:34Speaker 3: last off Sason what happened his boss, DAVIDM. Broski called
- 19:37Speaker 3: him out and said, whether or not Bryce Harper is
- 19:39Speaker 3: still elite, that remains to be seen.
- 19:40Speaker 2: We'll find out this year.
- 19:42Speaker 5: And then a name that I don't expect to get moved,
- 19:44Speaker 5: but I'm surprised every time I hear his name come up.
- 19:46Speaker 2: CJ.
- 19:47Speaker 5: Abrams for the Nationals. He's still just twenty five years
- 19:50Speaker 5: old and has two years of team control. It seems
- 19:53Speaker 5: like it would be easier for the Nationals to build
- 19:55Speaker 5: a team around cj Abrams than trying to make a
- 19:58Speaker 5: trade and find the next j Abrams if you already
- 20:01Speaker 5: have C.
- 20:01Speaker 1: J Abrams.
- 20:02Speaker 2: A great question, Taylor.
- 20:04Speaker 1: I don't get it.
- 20:04Speaker 2: It's you saw him in the lineup.
- 20:06Speaker 3: Oh, that's your leadoff hitter, right, You go, No, Actually,
- 20:08Speaker 3: he's a cleanup hitter, and he has eighty three RBIs.
- 20:10Speaker 2: He leads the league.
- 20:11Speaker 3: You go, what, he's got crazy power and him and
- 20:14Speaker 3: James would together we go go down some of the
- 20:16Speaker 3: worst trades ever Wan Soto that trade. We're now four
- 20:18Speaker 3: years to the day the Padres traded for want So
- 20:20Speaker 3: they gave up James Wood, who is back to back
- 20:22Speaker 3: thirty homer seasons, first guy that's done that as a
- 20:24Speaker 3: national since Adam done In on nine and twenty ten.
- 20:27Speaker 3: And CJ Abrams, who's one of the best players in
- 20:29Speaker 3: baseball right now, and you traded for Sodo and Sodo
- 20:31Speaker 3: did nothing with the Padres before going to your Yankees.
- 20:33Speaker 2: But I digress. I'm surprised that Abrams could be on
- 20:35Speaker 2: the move.
- 20:36Speaker 3: Maybe it's a situation where they went to the agent
- 20:37Speaker 3: said how much is it going to take to get
- 20:39Speaker 3: this done?
- 20:39Speaker 2: Wait, that's too rich. For our blood. Will flip you
- 20:42Speaker 2: now when your value will never be higher, and see
- 20:44Speaker 2: what we can do. But I'm with you generally, I'm
- 20:46Speaker 2: an opinion.
- 20:47Speaker 3: If I'm running a team, if I'm a fan of
- 20:49Speaker 3: the team, I have a great player, I keep the
- 20:50Speaker 3: great player. I pay him, I figure it out. It's
- 20:53Speaker 3: easier than having to flip him and go somewhere else.
- 20:55Speaker 3: But you're right, the rumors are persisting right now around C. J.
- 20:57Speaker 1: Abrams.
- 20:57Speaker 3: That would be a whopper if he gets out before Monday.
- 21:00Speaker 3: The Nationals have the best offensive baseball. Nobody scores more
- 21:02Speaker 3: runs than them.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Caveat.
- 21:04Speaker 3: There's no team that might have worst pitching the Men
- 21:06Speaker 3: twenty seventh and era. You go to a Nationals game
- 21:09Speaker 3: and it's eighty six. He's just hoping they win the
- 21:11Speaker 3: game eight six, rather than Right, who's the second best
- 21:14Speaker 3: team in baseball?
- 21:15Speaker 1: Ad?
- 21:15Speaker 2: Then it's a great question. I think it's the Brewers.
- 21:20Speaker 3: And the reason I laugh is that you go, great,
- 21:22Speaker 3: So they're gonna win one hundred one games and lose
- 21:24Speaker 3: the Dodgers in five? Right?
- 21:25Speaker 1: Yes, yes, it's exactly right, same thing every year. Yes, right.
- 21:29Speaker 3: I feel horrible saying if they won ninety seven games
- 21:33Speaker 3: to win one oh one this year and they're really
- 21:34Speaker 3: fun e collective team. Ms Rowski should win the cy
- 21:37Speaker 3: Young He's an absolute flamethrower. The guy averages one oh
- 21:40Speaker 3: three point two in his fastball, which means when he
- 21:42Speaker 3: throws one oh two, you go, huh bit of it
- 21:44Speaker 3: off to subpar from the Zerowski.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Only one oh two, Like he's awesome to watch.
- 21:49Speaker 3: They've got really scrappy, fun players like Bryce Terrang a
- 21:52Speaker 3: great catcher, William Contreras, Jackson Turio is exciting end player.
- 21:56Speaker 2: I could go on and on, but ultimately, if I'm
- 21:58Speaker 2: betting with your money or with my own, all I go.
- 22:00Speaker 2: They're not gonna beat the Dodgers. Are you out of
- 22:02Speaker 2: your mind?
- 22:02Speaker 3: Like? Of course the Dodgers are gonna be Have you
- 22:03Speaker 3: seen the Doctors? Like, yeah, they are way better than
- 22:06Speaker 3: this team. So I feel bad for Milwaukee. They're the
- 22:08Speaker 3: second best team, but bargain upset and upsets do happen.
- 22:11Speaker 2: The Dodgers are gonna be the favorite.
- 22:13Speaker 4: This is gonna sound like free advertising for Burger King,
- 22:16Speaker 4: but used a word there where. It makes me think, man,
- 22:19Speaker 4: they nailed uh naming that sandwich the whopper, Because do
- 22:23Speaker 4: you think of the actual meaning of the word whopper
- 22:25Speaker 4: or do you think of a big juicy cheeseburger every
- 22:27Speaker 4: time you hear the word whopper.
- 22:28Speaker 1: And for me it's the latter. Yep, it's got you
- 22:31Speaker 1: just think of a big old whopper, come right at it.
- 22:34Speaker 2: You know.
- 22:34Speaker 3: I always think of my friend Brian Kenny, longtime ESPN
- 22:37Speaker 3: broadcast now he's spent at ESPN eighteen years.
- 22:39Speaker 2: He's been an MLB network now fifteen years. And every
- 22:41Speaker 2: time when he sends an email, he just puts subject
- 22:44Speaker 2: cuating BK.
- 22:48Speaker 3: Maybe IG does the same thing, or TV does the
- 22:50Speaker 3: same thing, or JW or av over here, But he
- 22:53Speaker 3: just writes BK.
- 22:54Speaker 2: And I always want to write back, BK.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Haven't your way? Why haven't you?
- 22:59Speaker 2: That's a great responds.
- 23:02Speaker 1: For their new campaign. You rule, Yes, that's the way
- 23:05Speaker 1: to end an email. Oh God, that's all I got
- 23:08Speaker 1: for you. That's all you have.
- 23:09Speaker 4: It's like McDonald's, No, there's no other time where you
- 23:12Speaker 4: hear Big Mac, right, it's just when you're talking about
- 23:14Speaker 4: the sandwich, which is why naming the whopper the whopper.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Yeah, chef's kiss I guess Mark McGuire Big Mac.
- 23:20Speaker 2: Maybe that was years ago when I was Taylor before
- 23:23Speaker 2: I was me. I'm behind the scene work.
- 23:24Speaker 3: When the broadcasting Mark Great came broadcaster and he goes, hey,
- 23:28Speaker 3: you're creative. I want you to come up with some nicknames.
- 23:30Speaker 3: I go okay, and he goes Mark McGuire, and I
- 23:33Speaker 3: go arch Deluxe. I was so proud of my Saint Louis.
- 23:39Speaker 2: I go arch arch Great. What else you got? And
- 23:41Speaker 2: I had nothing else? That was the only one that
- 23:43Speaker 2: Ark McGuire Arch Deluxe.
- 23:45Speaker 1: It was great. It's a it's a tradition unlike any
- 23:48Speaker 1: other in August because we're killing time and we're all
- 23:50Speaker 1: just trying to get to football. Uh So we start
- 23:53Speaker 1: questioning Aaron Boone and this team lacks the fundamentals. And
- 23:56Speaker 1: when you get them the next ratings, you got them
- 23:58Speaker 1: right where you want them because they are one in
- 24:00Speaker 1: seven and extra innings. Is the criticism fair of Aaron Boone.
- 24:03Speaker 1: This team is not good at the fundamentals. Ever, fundamentals.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Adnan started talking as I was finishing the sentence. It
- 24:10Speaker 1: threw me off, and that's where fundamentals came out.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Dude, I'm so busy on my defensive booty I can't
- 24:17Speaker 2: think it.
- 24:17Speaker 3: Many more people, no matter what, They're just gonna get
- 24:20Speaker 3: criticized no matter what happens.
- 24:21Speaker 2: And I get it.
- 24:22Speaker 3: The New York Yankees are brand into themselves. They expect excellence,
- 24:25Speaker 3: and Taylor and his crony should be annoyed that they
- 24:27Speaker 3: have not won a World Series since O nine.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Absolutely, yes, they have not been good enough.
- 24:31Speaker 3: But eight years it seems like Boonie is that guy
- 24:33Speaker 3: just you know, a standing regular season success. They haven't
- 24:35Speaker 3: gone deep up in the playoffs. Now made the World
- 24:37Speaker 3: Series a couple years ago. Of course, lost the Dodgers
- 24:40Speaker 3: in five, but you can argue they should have won
- 24:41Speaker 3: that Game one if Freeman doesn't hit that unbelievable home run,
- 24:44Speaker 3: and that Game five we had that colossal group of
- 24:46Speaker 3: errors which ultimately doom them.
- 24:48Speaker 2: So it still feels like the Yankees should be up
- 24:49Speaker 2: three two in that World Series.
- 24:50Speaker 3: But regardless, this season, they've lost Aaron Judge, who's their
- 24:53Speaker 3: best player and the second best player in baseball. Now
- 24:55Speaker 3: they've lost Ballenger for four to six weeks. They're without
- 24:57Speaker 3: Stanton virtually the entire season, and there's still the second
- 25:00Speaker 3: best team in the American League. But the fans get annoyed,
- 25:02Speaker 3: they get mad, they go how is this team not
- 25:03Speaker 3: first place? There's so many holes, and I get it.
- 25:05Speaker 3: It is a flawed roster. There's no doubt about it.
- 25:08Speaker 3: If the Yankees go deep this year, it's built of
- 25:10Speaker 3: their starting pitching. Taylor's guy Schleitler was incredible again last night.
- 25:13Speaker 3: You know now that Rodns Rodan comes back, you got him,
- 25:16Speaker 3: you got Freed. Garrett Cole was great his last dunning.
- 25:18Speaker 3: They're starting pitching is excellent, and I love bed Nor
- 25:20Speaker 3: as their closer. But those great Yankee teams the past,
- 25:23Speaker 3: their bottom thirds still have those Scott broch'ses and Luiso's.
- 25:26Speaker 3: You look at this team when you go, wow, I'm
- 25:27Speaker 3: really expecting Ali Sanchez to go deep here. Austin Wells
- 25:30Speaker 3: is just defense first catcher. Taylor's texting me on the
- 25:32Speaker 3: regulars and we gotta get Louis Harries. I'm like, yeah,
- 25:35Speaker 3: the Yankees fan base is clamoring to make some moves,
- 25:37Speaker 3: but I never know why they hang all their ira
- 25:39Speaker 3: at Boney.
- 25:40Speaker 2: I get mad at a.
- 25:41Speaker 3: Manager a coach when they're underachieving, but if there's a
- 25:44Speaker 3: bunch of injuries on a team, I'm like, well then
- 25:45Speaker 3: I get it. Like what I wish that they'd be better. Sure,
- 25:48Speaker 3: but I don't really expect what fans expect bart of
- 25:50Speaker 3: Aaron Boone, I can tell you he's beloved by his
- 25:52Speaker 3: players and most importantly by his boss, Brian Cashman, So
- 25:55Speaker 3: I don't think he's going anywhere.
- 25:56Speaker 5: Kenny Atkinson thinks the Yankees won that World Series analytically
- 25:59Speaker 5: in twenty twenty for it, by the way, booning another guy.
- 26:05Speaker 3: I'm sure he's had guys like this year you're doing
- 26:07Speaker 3: your broadcast, you think nobody's really watching. If I say anything,
- 26:10Speaker 3: I wouldn't even say critical of the Yanks. Maybe he
- 26:12Speaker 3: disagree with I will get a long stinging text. We
- 26:15Speaker 3: were talking about Jose Cabria the other day. Taylor knows
- 26:17Speaker 3: about this Cabrierra before he goes in the box. Apparently
- 26:19Speaker 3: he was warned that you have to make eye contact
- 26:22Speaker 3: with the picture and that he can get going. And
- 26:24Speaker 3: the I guess the young part was annoyed at Kybrier
- 26:26Speaker 3: sing he wasn't making nine kin dithering.
- 26:27Speaker 2: Et cetera.
- 26:28Speaker 3: So it's me and Tom Perducci and Deandra Launch and
- 26:30Speaker 3: they're being able to critical Booney half page text like
- 26:32Speaker 3: it was like if my man is on it like
- 26:34Speaker 3: he is watching him over the network. He will defend
- 26:37Speaker 3: his guys. You do not criticize Jose Carierra like okay,
- 26:39Speaker 3: fair enough, and now I know I will. I will
- 26:41Speaker 3: defend those Caprieira, all that it takes.
- 26:43Speaker 4: That is quite the flex there, ed Nan, because I
- 26:45Speaker 4: was going to agree with you saying, yeah, you know
- 26:47Speaker 4: one time Tyrone Lou pulled me over at a game
- 26:49Speaker 4: and said I saw what you said on TV and
- 26:51Speaker 4: I didn't like it. But the text is so much
- 26:54Speaker 4: more personal and such more of a flex.
- 26:56Speaker 3: And at half a page, at some point, Randy f
- 27:00Speaker 3: pull the sight Isy, Listen, he give me a little
- 27:02Speaker 3: bit critical of us.
- 27:03Speaker 2: I don't appreciate what's happening. I threw it fight around
- 27:06Speaker 2: with Issy, that happened, Yes, but that's not a flex.
- 27:08Speaker 1: I'd feel terrible for, is he?
- 27:09Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, I don't think Randy ever pulled me over,
- 27:11Speaker 4: but I think somebody pulled me over over something that
- 27:14Speaker 4: he believed.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Kyler Polly, that's pretty good.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Yes. What was the birthday text that you got yesterday
- 27:22Speaker 1: that made you the happiest? Mine was from Roy have
- 27:28Speaker 1: his moment with a Roy in about a year, and
- 27:30Speaker 1: all I get is happy birthday. Love you brother.
- 27:33Speaker 2: You know now I'm more.
- 27:34Speaker 3: Actually the Roy did not get ya happy birthday, Mesca.
- 27:37Speaker 3: It was July eleventh, so actually I definitely know Roy's
- 27:39Speaker 3: birth at the top of my head. You know.
- 27:41Speaker 2: The best was of my buddy Marty ben Talta because
- 27:43Speaker 2: he was over Europe.
- 27:45Speaker 1: Yeah, Marty's a great guy.
- 27:46Speaker 2: He sent me. He sent me an email and he said,
- 27:48Speaker 2: I mean Europe on vacation, my family, but I had
- 27:51Speaker 2: to send you an email wish you happy birthday. And
- 27:53Speaker 2: I said, wow, this guy is so considered. He's six
- 27:56Speaker 2: hours ahead.
- 27:57Speaker 3: He's in Sardinia right now, you know, oakling Italian that
- 28:00Speaker 3: are doing whatever he's doing. And he's like, I got it.
- 28:01Speaker 3: Was not doing a happy birthday. So an email when
- 28:04Speaker 3: someone's on vacation.
- 28:05Speaker 2: That means a lot to me.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Right, did Boone reach out or how did that work out?
- 28:08Speaker 1: Or who?
- 28:09Speaker 2: He did not think about?
- 28:12Speaker 3: Alex Bora did not. Alex Cora, though we had a
- 28:15Speaker 3: long message the other day. He called me and I said, listen,
- 28:17Speaker 3: every time the Red Sox were losing, I kept taking
- 28:20Speaker 3: shots on your behalf.
- 28:21Speaker 2: I was like, well, a good thing. They fired Alex Cora.
- 28:22Speaker 2: Now they haven't stopped winning. What am I supposed to say?
- 28:26Speaker 2: How do I defend you now?
- 28:29Speaker 1: They made the right move?
- 28:32Speaker 2: I said, well you think it personally?
- 28:33Speaker 3: If I said they made the right firing and they
- 28:35Speaker 3: haven't stopped, So what you want, I'm taking their money?
- 28:38Speaker 1: It's okay, go ahead. What is the what's the best
- 28:42Speaker 1: birthday give ad Nan Birk has ever gotten?
- 28:46Speaker 2: Wow?
- 28:46Speaker 3: You know it's funny.
- 28:47Speaker 2: I think with this Father's Day, we're still used to
- 28:49Speaker 2: always say to me.
- 28:49Speaker 3: He said, listen, you have four kids. The best Father's
- 28:52Speaker 3: day must be silence. He said, Let's be honest.
- 28:54Speaker 2: I know you love your children.
- 28:55Speaker 3: If they've just said you, hey, buddy, you can go
- 28:56Speaker 3: watch Good Fellows by yourself. He goes, you're telling me
- 28:59Speaker 3: you're not this with joy. So I have to tell
- 29:02Speaker 3: you if you can have a little bit of piece
- 29:04Speaker 3: to yourself, it's good.
- 29:04Speaker 1: Yeah, but I'll be honest.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Last I thought about after the beach day and the cake.
- 29:08Speaker 3: I said, maybe we'd be nice to watch move by myself.
- 29:09Speaker 3: I said, no, it's better together, and so I introduced
- 29:11Speaker 3: two of my children. Toe of the great comedies of
- 29:13Speaker 3: all time, Chris Cody, one of his favorites Planes trains
- 29:16Speaker 3: and on a fantastic Candy and Steve Martin last night.
- 29:20Speaker 3: I mean, it's my fifteen year old has it lot
- 29:22Speaker 3: harder than the great scene. Of course, Candy's hugging him.
- 29:24Speaker 3: Why are you holding my hand? Where's your other hand?
- 29:26Speaker 2: It's between two pillows? Those are hellos? Thirty five years
- 29:32Speaker 2: later and I'm still a hilarity.
- 29:35Speaker 5: And how do you feel about a midnight release movie?
- 29:37Speaker 5: Because I was thinking about going to see the new
- 29:39Speaker 5: Spider Man movie tonight at midnight, but it's also kind
- 29:43Speaker 5: of late for me.
- 29:44Speaker 3: Yeah, Tailor, you have no kids. If you have no kids,
- 29:46Speaker 3: I'm all for it. Once I had children, I thought
- 29:48Speaker 3: it was absurd. I said, why the hell would I
- 29:49Speaker 3: do this to myself. I've got to be up at
- 29:50Speaker 3: six thirty seven no matter what. So I'll we had
- 29:52Speaker 3: four hours sleeping pissed off unless the movie is as
- 29:55Speaker 3: good as Casablanca, which is not gonna be.
- 29:57Speaker 2: So I eschew the Midnight madness as married and father
- 30:01Speaker 2: of four.
- 30:01Speaker 3: But if I was single and you're really hyped up
- 30:03Speaker 3: to see it, what's your level of like Spider Man
- 30:05Speaker 3: geeked him on a scale of one to ten, Like,
- 30:07Speaker 3: do you have you dressed up as Peter Parker is
- 30:09Speaker 3: an alias of yours.
- 30:10Speaker 2: You talk about Doc Hawk with friends.
- 30:12Speaker 1: I mean, if you're going to a midnight show and
- 30:13Speaker 1: you have to dress as Spider Man and stand the line,
- 30:15Speaker 1: you do so, and.
- 30:17Speaker 5: Then I would probably say, I'm like a three out
- 30:19Speaker 5: of ten in the Marvel universe, but I love Spider
- 30:22Speaker 5: Man like Spider Man would be my guy in the
- 30:23Speaker 5: Marvel universe.
- 30:24Speaker 3: Okay, so I'm pellicly like I'm not a superhero guy,
- 30:27Speaker 3: don't the dctema, but I love Batman like Batman is
- 30:29Speaker 3: probably an eight or nine like I would.
- 30:30Speaker 2: So uh yeah, you should go and have wood stew
- 30:33Speaker 2: you should dress up.
- 30:34Speaker 1: As Spider Man.
- 30:35Speaker 3: Quite frankly, if you're you're a kind on the spider
- 30:37Speaker 3: Man scale, you have nothing pressing the next day midnight
- 30:40Speaker 3: show and dressed up as Spider Man, pictures are it
- 30:42Speaker 3: didn't happen.
- 30:43Speaker 1: All right? And then get out of here. We appreciate it.
- 30:46Speaker 1: We are getting closer, my friend, to the US Open.
- 30:48Speaker 1: We will break it all down in a couple of weeks.
- 30:51Speaker 3: I'm so upset to you're traveling so much. I had
- 30:53Speaker 3: so many Wimbledon thoughts and I wasn't on the program, so.
- 30:56Speaker 1: Oh a right, no, And last week we had you
- 30:58Speaker 1: on because you're o a Lebron expert. We didn't talk tennis.
- 31:01Speaker 1: So where were you when Novak Djokovic lost a Sinner
- 31:04Speaker 1: in the semi finals Because you're you're playing a dangerous game.
- 31:08Speaker 1: You don't want Novak to win anymore. But Sinner is
- 31:11Speaker 1: going to be the guy you should start getting concerned about.
- 31:14Speaker 1: It's a very good point.
- 31:15Speaker 3: But the fact that Novak got waxed and straight, I mean,
- 31:18Speaker 3: it's just I know, it's total shot and freud to
- 31:20Speaker 3: take such joy at another man's misery. But a him
- 31:23Speaker 3: back guy, I'm dressed up as Roger Federer laughing to get.
- 31:26Speaker 2: The great it's Novack sits to get straight setch. It
- 31:28Speaker 2: was glorious to see at the Yellingland Club.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Yes when Stanzick did wish me a happy birthday yesterday,
- 31:32Speaker 1: it was hashtag team fed That's how we sent it.
- 31:37Speaker 2: We gotta get Branton soon. Brand to be together is
- 31:40Speaker 2: gonna be great.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Us open all right, next week, let's do it. Okay,
- 31:43Speaker 1: I love it.
- 31:43Speaker 2: Thanks so much, guys, Happy birthdays too, all right, buddy,
- 31:46Speaker 2: you two appreciate it.
