Like, 'Je suis' means 'I am,' right? Lucas: Exactly! Let's start with être. Repeat after me: Je suis. Luna: Je suis. Lucas: Perfect. Je suis means 'I am.' Now, Tu es — 'you are'. Tu es. Luna: Tu es. Lucas: Great. Then Il est or Elle est — 'he is' or 'she is.' Let's try Elle est. Luna: Elle est. Lucas: Nice. So we have Je suis, Tu es, Il/Elle est. Let's put them in sentences. I'll say: Je suis Lucas. Luna: Je suis Lucas. That's easy! So I could say Je suis Luna. Lucas: Exactly. And if you're talking about a friend, you'd say Il est sympathique or Elle est sympathique.
