- 1:47Speaker 4: demand at your time. Maybe you even get it before
- 1:49Speaker 4: it hits radio, depending on what market you're in. But
- 1:52Speaker 4: grateful to have you with us. Very big day, very
- 1:54Speaker 4: big week. The President not very pleased at all with
- 1:57Speaker 4: Iran's response to his proposal to draw that war to
- 2:02Speaker 4: an end, and yesterday they kind of returned their rents,
- 2:05Speaker 4: wash and repeat kind of tired solution suggestions, which included
- 2:11Speaker 4: get them getting to keep the nuclear bomb. That's the
- 2:14Speaker 4: non starter. That's the thing that the President has said
- 2:16Speaker 4: from the beginning. No, we're not going to let you
- 2:17Speaker 4: do that. They keep putting it back into the package,
- 2:19Speaker 4: and he's like, look, we're out of time. So here's
- 2:22Speaker 4: the thing. I don't know when, but I think that
- 2:25Speaker 4: I think that they're going to start getting some friendly
- 2:29Speaker 4: little ordinances sent their way again, probably taking out their
- 2:33Speaker 4: power lines, their power supplies, and the bridges that they
- 2:38Speaker 4: used most frequently, most regularly. I think that's what's going
- 2:43Speaker 4: to be the next series of targets, and then we'll
- 2:45Speaker 4: see if beyond that, if they need to go in.
- 2:47Speaker 4: They've already taken down like sixty percent of the top
- 2:50Speaker 4: leadership of the IERGC, hoping that the IERGC will just,
- 2:54Speaker 4: you know, eventually come to its senses and say, no,
- 2:56Speaker 4: I don't want to be part of the radical stuff anymore.
- 2:58Speaker 4: We're going to do actually good things. They can't seem
- 3:01Speaker 4: to find any of those types of people, So now
- 3:04Speaker 4: I think, and I think even the Iatola, if he's
- 3:06Speaker 4: still alive, and I have no idea, nobody has seen
- 3:09Speaker 4: him since supposedly he was named the successor, and I
- 3:12Speaker 4: think that he probably was injured, like his brother, like
- 3:17Speaker 4: his father, may be on his way to dying. That
- 3:20Speaker 4: means that now they're just not they're very confused, as
- 3:24Speaker 4: the President said yesterday, and he's not pleased with that.
- 3:27Speaker 4: But set that to one side, because that's part of
- 3:29Speaker 4: the context of this week. And then the other portion
- 3:31Speaker 4: is you've got Trump and g and what's going to
- 3:34Speaker 4: go down in their meetings. And I think that at
- 3:37Speaker 4: least in my opinion, there's a lot of reasons why
- 3:39Speaker 4: people might think that, you know, this meeting should happen.
- 3:44Speaker 4: I've got three specific things that I want to see
- 3:48Speaker 4: happen out of this meeting, and I'm not going to
- 3:50Speaker 4: be shy about him. And number one is a big,
- 3:53Speaker 4: big one. I want the President and the American delegation
- 3:57Speaker 4: to communicate it at every level. And you have to
- 3:59Speaker 4: know how these things work. So you've got you've got
- 4:02Speaker 4: the underlings, and they've been talking for a while, and
- 4:04Speaker 4: then you've got the ones just above them, and they've
- 4:06Speaker 4: been talking a little bit, and then you've got a
- 4:07Speaker 4: little bit higher and they're talking, and then you eventually
- 4:10Speaker 4: get to like cabinet level people and undersecretaries and then secretaries,
- 4:16Speaker 4: and eventually it gets up to the executive position. And
- 4:19Speaker 4: so by the time G and Trump actually sit across
- 4:21Speaker 4: the table from each other, everybody else that will be
- 4:24Speaker 4: sitting at that table, all the way up and down
- 4:26Speaker 4: the length of the table, we'll have already had several
- 4:29Speaker 4: discussions about some of the things that are going to
- 4:31Speaker 4: be discussed. And then the President will, you know, say
- 4:35Speaker 4: what he has to say, G will say what he
- 4:37Speaker 4: has to say. They're probably going to put forward suggestions
- 4:41Speaker 4: to each other. I think that's the hope that there
- 4:43Speaker 4: will be some cooperation that comes out of a summit
- 4:46Speaker 4: like this there was in their last one in South
- 4:49Speaker 4: Korea or where it was in February of last year. Yeah,
- 4:53Speaker 4: we've got tariffs on certain things, and we're, you know,
- 4:56Speaker 4: kind of being tough about that. But my hope is
- 4:59Speaker 4: is that this process, that this process of sitting down
- 5:01Speaker 4: with each other, being across from each other and understanding
- 5:04Speaker 4: that you've got a limited opportunity to get face to
- 5:07Speaker 4: face and to get something done. I hope that they
- 5:08Speaker 4: take advantage of that, and I hope that the world
- 5:10Speaker 4: is better off because of it. Now, let me just
- 5:12Speaker 4: say this one of the things that President Trump can
- 5:16Speaker 4: go in there and really and Trump is brilliant when
- 5:19Speaker 4: using this thing called leverage. He uses leverage better than
- 5:22Speaker 4: anybody else I've ever seen, and he uses it in
- 5:24Speaker 4: creative ways. He doesn't always use the jackhammer. Sometimes he
- 5:28Speaker 4: uses carrots. Sometimes he breadcrumbs you, and he pulls you
- 5:32Speaker 4: along to exactly where he wants you to be, and
- 5:35Speaker 4: he brings you to a better space. And I will
- 5:37Speaker 4: say this about Trump's negotiations. Most of the time, whatever
- 5:41Speaker 4: his final solution is is better for both sides. This
- 5:44Speaker 4: is the thing that I think has been grossly overlooked
- 5:47Speaker 4: about Trump. There's hardly ever a time where he goes
- 5:52Speaker 4: into a negotiation and his side just wins one hundred
- 5:55Speaker 4: percent and the other side basically goes to jail. Like
- 5:58Speaker 4: it's not That is not how he normally does things.
- 6:01Speaker 4: He understands that g has to have some sort of
- 6:03Speaker 4: face saving win if he comes away from a from
- 6:06Speaker 4: a summit with him and he's got to give him
- 6:08Speaker 4: something to go back and tell his people, Hey, here's
- 6:10Speaker 4: how we won. So I think that he's really good
- 6:13Speaker 4: at this, and probably far better than anybody in the
- 6:16Speaker 4: news has paid attention to. From the standpoint that even
- 6:19Speaker 4: his opponent takes away something that's of value to them
- 6:23Speaker 4: while he gets what he needs for the American people.
- 6:26Speaker 4: I just that is just genius level negotiation at a
- 6:29Speaker 4: whole different speed of light. But here's the thing that
- 6:33Speaker 4: I think that he should go in there with very
- 6:37Speaker 4: deft and determined jaw and say, and that is, g
- 6:42Speaker 4: if you want to have any consideration from the United
- 6:45Speaker 4: States for our markets, if you want access to the
- 6:48Speaker 4: things you want to sell us, if you want us
- 6:50Speaker 4: to be in any way communicative with you, sell you
- 6:52Speaker 4: our soybeans, do whatever it is that you're wanting out
- 6:55Speaker 4: of a relationship with us. You have to stop messing
- 6:58Speaker 4: around to the Ukrainian conflict and stop messing around in
- 7:01Speaker 4: the Iranian conflict. Now, in Iran, they've been buying black
- 7:04Speaker 4: market oil for years, getting it dirt cheap, cheaper than dirt.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Because the Iatolas starve their people, they're fine to take
- 7:12Speaker 4: the lolo price and to sell them in mass quantity. Meanwhile,
- 7:16Speaker 4: g has also helped Russia with technology, helped talk North
- 7:21Speaker 4: Korea into sending troops up to Ukraine, which got slaughtered immediately.
- 7:26Speaker 4: North Korean troops are worthless, they're the worst trained. They
- 7:29Speaker 4: just have no there's just there's no ability. But China
- 7:33Speaker 4: has been kind of a behind the scenes chess player
- 7:36Speaker 4: with Ukraine, and they've very much been a financial incentive
- 7:40Speaker 4: for Iran. And those two things have to come to
- 7:42Speaker 4: an end, I would say non negotiable starting point for
- 7:46Speaker 4: President Trump to have a successful summit with g he
- 7:50Speaker 4: needs to get them to understand that if they're going
- 7:52Speaker 4: to be part of the good society, if they're going
- 7:55Speaker 4: to be part of the world that's facing forward and
- 7:57Speaker 4: not backwards. If they want to be considered a genuine
- 8:01Speaker 4: welcome community to the community of nations, they have to
- 8:04Speaker 4: do differently, and constantly empowering the bad guys is not
- 8:08Speaker 4: the way to do it. In fact, it's about as
- 8:10Speaker 4: stupid as a strategy as you can play. But she's
- 8:13Speaker 4: glad to do it because he's getting cheap energy and
- 8:15Speaker 4: he needs cheap energy. More on that coming up. But
- 8:19Speaker 4: you've got to get China has to take their fingers,
- 8:23Speaker 4: their grubby little myths off of Ukraine and off of Iran.
- 8:28Speaker 4: And that may look impossible, and I've talked to a
- 8:33Speaker 4: lot of people. I'm gonna ask people on today's show
- 8:35Speaker 4: about it. Some people may say that's not doable at all,
- 8:39Speaker 4: but I really question whether or not it is doable,
- 8:42Speaker 4: because here's the thing. Yes, they're getting cheap oil from Iran. Yes,
- 8:47Speaker 4: they're probably not going to get oil at that price
- 8:49Speaker 4: from any legitimate country going forward. And maybe Russia's a
- 8:53Speaker 4: little bit better, but they're still not really making them
- 8:56Speaker 4: pay the appropriate price for the oil. President Trump has
- 9:00Speaker 4: leverage when it comes to energy, unlike any president I've
- 9:02Speaker 4: ever seen in my life. I think he can get
- 9:06Speaker 4: an admission from China, that they will not interfere with
- 9:09Speaker 4: the Ukraine or the Iranian wars any further, and that
- 9:13Speaker 4: they'll just be a bystander on the sidelines. That would
- 9:15Speaker 4: be a tremendous first number one priority to get out
- 9:19Speaker 4: of them as they sit down with this summit in
- 9:21Speaker 4: the very near future. Maybe you disagree that Kevin Show
- 9:24Speaker 4: at gmail dot com, if you want to send me
- 9:26Speaker 4: your thoughts that Kevin Show at gmail dot com, always
- 9:28Speaker 4: interested in hearing them. But that's what I would like
- 9:31Speaker 4: to see one of the three things I would like
- 9:32Speaker 4: to see President Trump do in his discussions with g
- 9:35Speaker 4: coming up, and they're going to matter. He's also, I'm
- 9:39Speaker 4: just saying this upfront, he's also ticked with Iran and
- 9:42Speaker 4: he's I think he's going to start dropping bombs again
- 9:45Speaker 4: on power plants and bridges and try to avoid human
- 9:50Speaker 4: civilian casualties as much as possible. All Right, Calvin mccallough,
- 9:53Speaker 4: we've got a big show for you. Don't go anywhere.
- 10:08Speaker 6: Here.
- 10:08Speaker 7: He is from New York. That Kevin McCullough.
- 10:16Speaker 4: All right, welcome back, It's the Tuesday edition. Kevin McCullough,
- 10:19Speaker 4: That Kevin Show, that Kevinshow dot com always thrilled to
- 10:22Speaker 4: have you with us, and always enjoying the idea that
- 10:26Speaker 4: here at the beginning of the show, we can kind
- 10:28Speaker 4: of set aside the worries of the day, the big
- 10:32Speaker 4: headlines of the day, and just for a few minutes,
- 10:34Speaker 4: ask ourselves the question, if the world is progressing in
- 10:39Speaker 4: this way, if we're dealing with wars, if we're dealing
- 10:42Speaker 4: with summits, if we're dealing with viruses and diseases, if
- 10:45Speaker 4: we're dealing with things that are that are you know,
- 10:47Speaker 4: threatening or looming in our future, how do we live?
- 10:52Speaker 4: How do we live in a world that doesn't know Christ?
- 10:55Speaker 4: How do we live in a world that may hate God,
- 10:58Speaker 4: may have no use for his word, and really looks
- 11:01Speaker 4: at us as they just don't understand us. There's just
- 11:04Speaker 4: no way they can wrap their head around who we
- 11:07Speaker 4: are or why we are the way we are. And
- 11:10Speaker 4: that's why we asked the question, how do we live?
- 11:12Speaker 4: How do we live in the midst of that? My
- 11:14Speaker 4: argument is we stay on mission, we stay winsome, we
- 11:18Speaker 4: stay plugged in, we get discipled, we keep growing, we
- 11:21Speaker 4: dig deeper. That's the protocol in my mind. Doctor Dave
- 11:25Speaker 4: Watson believes that with me. I believe I know this
- 11:28Speaker 4: because not only is he a regular contributor here on
- 11:30Speaker 4: the show, but he's also a very good friend. It's
- 11:33Speaker 4: always fun to have people that I've gotten to know
- 11:35Speaker 4: for a long period of time contribute to this as well,
- 11:37Speaker 4: because I feel like we kind of read each other's minds.
- 11:40Speaker 4: But this Sunday you did a very and this was
- 11:45Speaker 4: a yeoman's job. Man. You went through thirteen women in
- 11:50Speaker 4: scripture and came up with the Faith of our Mothers
- 11:53Speaker 4: as a single sermon. I would think this would be
- 11:55Speaker 4: a series that you could do. You crammed it all
- 11:57Speaker 4: into one day, and I don't know how you did that,
- 12:00Speaker 4: but I guess you're getting this week to kind of
- 12:01Speaker 4: unpack it a little bit more. But yesterday we looked
- 12:04Speaker 4: at we looked at Eve, Sarah and Leah, and today
- 12:07Speaker 4: we're going to talk about Jakabd and rahab Uh. And
- 12:11Speaker 4: it's the Faith of our mothers. What do we know
- 12:13Speaker 4: about these these women, the courageous mother and the desperate mother.
- 12:17Speaker 8: Well, jacobed, you know, she's she's not even named initially.
- 12:22Speaker 8: When when when we when we you know, start start
- 12:25Speaker 8: working through the text with her, you know, she's the
- 12:28Speaker 8: mother of Moses, but she is a remarkable woman.
- 12:31Speaker 5: And the context here.
- 12:33Speaker 8: Is that that Pharaoh wants to kill all the male
- 12:37Speaker 8: children because there are too many Jewish children being born.
- 12:43Speaker 8: So the midwives in this context have been hiding uh
- 12:47Speaker 8: the male children uh or or not giving them over
- 12:50Speaker 8: right away. But the edict still stands. And now jacobed
- 12:54Speaker 8: is faced with a choice whether or not she's going
- 12:58Speaker 8: to uh to be pro life or she's going to
- 13:01Speaker 8: give her son over to death, and uh it may
- 13:04Speaker 8: cost her her life if she does the right thing,
- 13:07Speaker 8: and she chooses to keep to keep her son. Nextus says,
- 13:11Speaker 8: the woman can see bore a son, and when he saw,
- 13:13Speaker 8: when she saw that he was a fine child, she
- 13:15Speaker 8: hit him three months So it was a you know,
- 13:20Speaker 8: a hiding of this boy, and and and kind of
- 13:23Speaker 8: a you know, a crazy set of circumstances, uh that
- 13:27Speaker 8: that we're there, But I just I like the fact
- 13:30Speaker 8: that in this setting her and the midwives are are
- 13:34Speaker 8: pro life.
- 13:34Speaker 5: They're going to do whatever they need to do to
- 13:37Speaker 5: save uh this child.
- 13:40Speaker 8: And her name uh incidantly means yahweh my glory.
- 13:44Speaker 5: And certainly she lives up to that.
- 13:46Speaker 8: Uh.
- 13:47Speaker 5: You know in in.
- 13:48Speaker 8: Wanting to do what God wants her to do more
- 13:51Speaker 8: than anything else.
- 13:52Speaker 4: Well, go a little deeper into her story, because not
- 13:55Speaker 4: only does she make the right decision and save Moses' life,
- 13:58Speaker 4: she ends up getting to raise him anyway.
- 14:02Speaker 5: That is that is incredible, isn't it.
- 14:04Speaker 8: She You know, they're throwing the babies into the nile
- 14:09Speaker 8: to drown, and she turns.
- 14:11Speaker 5: It around and she uses the nile to save her.
- 14:15Speaker 8: Baby by putting Moses in a in a small little boat,
- 14:20Speaker 8: having his sister, you know who was safe because she
- 14:23Speaker 8: was a girl.
- 14:24Speaker 5: She's she's okay, she's a girl, you know, watches he's
- 14:29Speaker 5: in the nile.
- 14:30Speaker 8: She puts him there in a specific time period, uh
- 14:33Speaker 8: where Pharaoh's daughter comes by. Pharaoh's paughter is looking for
- 14:36Speaker 8: someone to nurse the baby. She can't do that. Miriam
- 14:41Speaker 8: volunteers her mom and then she does get to raise him.
- 14:46Speaker 5: We're not sure how long she gets to raise.
- 14:48Speaker 8: Him for, but it seems to be a season a
- 14:52Speaker 8: period of years that this gets to be the case. So,
- 14:56Speaker 8: but he has a very strong Jewish identity.
- 15:00Speaker 5: Now that there's there's one other thing that I think
- 15:03Speaker 5: is fascinating. It may not be to others.
- 15:06Speaker 8: But but how does Pharaoh's mom, Pharaoh's daughter know that.
- 15:11Speaker 5: Moses is Jewish?
- 15:13Speaker 8: I think because not only not only had Jacobin hit him,
- 15:19Speaker 8: but she'd also had him circumcised, so it's clear he's
- 15:23Speaker 8: a Jewish boy.
- 15:24Speaker 5: So it is quite quite quite amazing her story.
- 15:29Speaker 8: Pharaoh's eating didn't paralyze her, and and she she's in
- 15:34Speaker 8: the Hall of Faith because she gave birth to the
- 15:37Speaker 8: deliverer Moses. And you know, we say this to moms
- 15:42Speaker 8: that your your kids are special. But but the baby
- 15:46Speaker 8: that that you're raising is going to be someone who
- 15:49Speaker 8: can change the world. And I think Jacobin certainly had
- 15:53Speaker 8: that sense with her child. But I think all women
- 15:56Speaker 8: should know that the baby that you're raising, the child
- 15:59Speaker 8: that you've chosen to have chosen to keep, made all
- 16:03Speaker 8: made the right decisions about that child, is going.
- 16:06Speaker 5: To make an impact on the world. That's just something
- 16:08Speaker 5: always good to remember.
- 16:11Speaker 4: All right. So that's the story of Jacobed. The story
- 16:15Speaker 4: of the Next Woman from Joshua two and six, I
- 16:19Speaker 4: think is equally impressive, and she actually ends up as
- 16:23Speaker 4: a very important figure in the history of the Messiah.
- 16:28Speaker 8: She's she's quite quite a woman she's she's running a
- 16:32Speaker 8: bed and brothel in Jericho. And the two spies remember
- 16:38Speaker 8: Israel had sent out twelve years earlier and that had
- 16:42Speaker 8: resulted in disaster. The two spies that are coming to
- 16:45Speaker 8: look over Jericho.
- 16:48Speaker 5: Uh, because they want to they.
- 16:49Speaker 8: Want to, you know, destroy it on their way to
- 16:51Speaker 8: the Promised Land are hidden by her. It would have
- 16:56Speaker 8: not been a an unusual thing for a couple guys
- 17:00Speaker 8: to go into the house that she had, so they
- 17:03Speaker 8: were hoping not to not to raise any concern. She
- 17:07Speaker 8: hides them because it did raise some concern. And then
- 17:10Speaker 8: she comes up on the roof and said, listen, we know,
- 17:15Speaker 8: we know, you guys are coming for us, and our
- 17:17Speaker 8: hearts are melting.
- 17:19Speaker 5: I don't want my family to die. What can we do?
- 17:23Speaker 5: What can we do so that they might live?
- 17:26Speaker 8: You know, we forget something, Kevin, that the children of
- 17:28Speaker 8: Israel were two point four million in number, and they're
- 17:34Speaker 8: not hiding on the other side of the Jordan River.
- 17:38Speaker 8: I mean two point four million. That's the number of
- 17:41Speaker 8: people who live in Brooklyn. So you have Brooklyn on
- 17:45Speaker 8: the other side of the Nile excuse me, the Jordan River,
- 17:50Speaker 8: on the other side of the Jordan river about to
- 17:52Speaker 8: come over, and the Canaanites are scared. So she makes
- 17:57Speaker 8: a deal with these guys and they promise that they
- 17:59Speaker 8: will deliver her if she will put a scarlet thread
- 18:03Speaker 8: in her window.
- 18:05Speaker 5: She does, She's delivered.
- 18:06Speaker 8: She becomes part of Israel, and by her faith, her
- 18:11Speaker 8: desperate faith, she saves not only herself, but her whole family.
- 18:17Speaker 5: Her name is kind of wild.
- 18:19Speaker 8: It means to open oneself wide, which is you know,
- 18:23Speaker 8: it's pretty fitting for a woman who ran a brothel.
- 18:27Speaker 5: But what an amazing woman.
- 18:28Speaker 8: And where do we find her? We find her in
- 18:30Speaker 8: the Hall of Faith. We find her in the Book
- 18:32Speaker 8: of James. We find her as part of Israel, and
- 18:37Speaker 8: we find her, guess what in the genealogy of Jesus Christ. Wow,
- 18:41Speaker 8: what a woman desperate faith.
- 18:43Speaker 4: I think this speaks so strongly to not just the
- 18:51Speaker 4: character and nature of the women themselves, but of the
- 18:55Speaker 4: focus of their faith, the real trust of their belief
- 19:00Speaker 4: that they put in the Messiah, that they put in
- 19:03Speaker 4: the God of the Bible, even though she was foreign
- 19:06Speaker 4: to him. And you know, the way she expresses herself
- 19:09Speaker 4: to the Spies is that she knows that their God
- 19:13Speaker 4: is the one true God, and I just think that,
- 19:18Speaker 4: you know, for those that are listening today and you
- 19:21Speaker 4: have questions and you're thinking, well, I don't know, how
- 19:23Speaker 4: do I know? Well, how did Rehab know? She it
- 19:27Speaker 4: was an issue of belief and she put her faith
- 19:29Speaker 4: and trust in the God of Israel. And I just
- 19:32Speaker 4: think that that is an incredible thing. Dave Real quickly
- 19:36Speaker 4: thirty seconds. For people that may be in the Staten
- 19:39Speaker 4: Island area this weekend, how do they find you? What
- 19:42Speaker 4: will you be preaching on and what time can they
- 19:44Speaker 4: come and be part of Calvary Chapel, Staten Island.
- 19:48Speaker 8: Well, you can catch us eight thirty eleven fifteen thirty
- 19:51Speaker 8: Maple Parkway, Staten Isle in New York. I'll be talking
- 19:55Speaker 8: from the Book of Hebrews, the twelfth chapter. We're going
- 19:58Speaker 8: to be talking about how the Lord would strengthen us
- 20:01Speaker 8: and encourage us and help us through our difficult times.
- 20:05Speaker 5: And you can catch us. You can catch me on
- 20:07Speaker 5: the radio on WMCA.
- 20:09Speaker 8: Every night at six pm with God in Our City
- 20:12Speaker 8: every weeknight at six pm on God in Our City
- 20:15Speaker 8: or on Sunday mornings, you can hear us live on
- 20:18Speaker 8: WMCA beginning at eleven thirty am. It's a privilege always
- 20:23Speaker 8: to share to minister to be part of the greater
- 20:26Speaker 8: New York area.
- 20:26Speaker 4: Yeah, and friends, if you're listening in Honolulu, you can
- 20:30Speaker 4: tune in as well. So eleven thirty Eastern time and
- 20:33Speaker 4: then six o'clock Eastern time at WMCA dot com. That's
- 20:37Speaker 4: the Salem Teaching and talkstation here in New York. Pastor
- 20:41Speaker 4: Dave Watson, thank you, thank you.
- 20:43Speaker 5: Can't wait to be with you again tomorrow. Kevin, have
- 20:45Speaker 5: an amazing day.
- 20:46Speaker 4: You got it. Kevin McCulloch, coming right back. Don't go
- 20:48Speaker 4: with the stick around for.
- 20:49Speaker 9: More off at Kevin next.
- 21:07Speaker 7: Here he is from New York. Fact Kevin, Kevin McCullough.
- 21:14Speaker 4: Kevin McCullough, glad you're with us. I hope that you
- 21:17Speaker 4: are planning to have some fun this summer. Maybe you're
- 21:21Speaker 4: gonna take the family on a vacation. Maybe you're gonna
- 21:23Speaker 4: come with us to Italy in September October. We've got
- 21:26Speaker 4: that trip. It's gonna be fun. Listen, before you do,
- 21:29Speaker 4: do me a favor. Take a look at your at
- 21:33Speaker 4: your budget and what you've got planned, and think about
- 21:36Speaker 4: the joy that you're going to have with your family
- 21:38Speaker 4: doing the fun thing that you're going to get to
- 21:40Speaker 4: do it's probably going to be thousands of dollars to
- 21:43Speaker 4: go do it, Even if it's a short trip, it's
- 21:45Speaker 4: probably going to cost you a couple of grand to
- 21:46Speaker 4: get the family away and take the trip and buy
- 21:48Speaker 4: the food and do all the things. Well, what if
- 21:51Speaker 4: you took ten percent of that and just said, you
- 21:54Speaker 4: know what, maybe maybe we're we'll cut out something here
- 21:57Speaker 4: or there, but we're gonna take ten percent of that
- 21:59Speaker 4: same amount and we're just going to bless one kid
- 22:03Speaker 4: with a trip this summer that's going to blow his
- 22:05Speaker 4: mind and completely catapult him to a different place in
- 22:09Speaker 4: life emotionally, spiritually, maybe intellectually, maybe relationally with other people.
- 22:16Speaker 4: I mean, one of the things I remember about growing
- 22:18Speaker 4: up and going to a Christian summer camp was that
- 22:21Speaker 4: I developed friendships with people I would have never had
- 22:23Speaker 4: the chance to meet. And to this day, some of
- 22:26Speaker 4: those people are still very close friends of mine fifty
- 22:30Speaker 4: six years later. Like, this is not this is not
- 22:33Speaker 4: a pie in the sky kind of idea. You're touching
- 22:36Speaker 4: these kids in a very real way, and relationship is
- 22:39Speaker 4: just part of that. Tom Traddap is back with us
- 22:41Speaker 4: to talk about the amazing program of the Angel Tree Camps.
- 22:45Speaker 4: You've been working with them longer than I have, Tom
- 22:47Speaker 4: and you've seen it up close. But when you're talking
- 22:50Speaker 4: about even some of the counselors at some of the
- 22:53Speaker 4: camps in all fifty states, they are former Angel Tree
- 22:57Speaker 4: Camp recipients that went to camp, somebody paid their way,
- 23:01Speaker 4: and now they've come back to help this new generation
- 23:05Speaker 4: of kids find Jesus, know the Lord, get their life
- 23:09Speaker 4: straightened out, and have an experience that is unforgettable. I mean,
- 23:12Speaker 4: it is such a joyous thing to see this kind
- 23:15Speaker 4: of unadulterated good that is going on with Angel Tree Camps.
- 23:19Speaker 3: You raised two things that were great aspects of the
- 23:23Speaker 3: Angel Tree camping program. One of them is that you
- 23:27Speaker 3: made these friends who you still stay in contact with,
- 23:30Speaker 3: whether they're pen pals or they're sending emails or you
- 23:33Speaker 3: get on the phone with them. There's a little boy
- 23:36Speaker 3: named Joseph who we've heard from. He's so excited he's
- 23:39Speaker 3: going back to Angel Tree Camp this year. It'll be
- 23:42Speaker 3: his second time at camp, and he said four of
- 23:45Speaker 3: the kids who were in my cabin last year are.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Also coming back.
- 23:48Speaker 3: So they stay in touch and they're all going to
- 23:50Speaker 3: be in the same cabin with the same counselor, so
- 23:53Speaker 3: that kind.
- 23:54Speaker 4: Of that's special.
- 23:56Speaker 3: It really makes.
- 23:57Speaker 2: Something that they look forward.
- 23:59Speaker 4: To all your law.
- 24:00Speaker 3: And secondly, when you mentioned the part about the counselors,
- 24:04Speaker 3: there's a lot of people who started out as an
- 24:06Speaker 3: Angel Tree kid, a boy or girl who went to
- 24:09Speaker 3: camp on a scholarship like you were asking listeners and
- 24:12Speaker 3: viewers to come forward with. But then they went on
- 24:16Speaker 3: finished college, or went to finished high school, went on
- 24:18Speaker 3: to college, finished college, and then they come back and
- 24:22Speaker 3: work with Prison Fellowship. It's a great nonprofit organization started
- 24:26Speaker 3: by Chuck Colson years ago, and they become a counselor,
- 24:30Speaker 3: and in a couple of cases, people that I've talked
- 24:33Speaker 3: with have become camp directors.
- 24:35Speaker 5: So they have devoted.
- 24:37Speaker 3: Their lives to the Angel Tree program because not only
- 24:41Speaker 3: does it help kids during the summer, but there are
- 24:43Speaker 3: also sports camps at other times of the year. At
- 24:47Speaker 3: Christmas time, Angel Tree provides a Christmas gift from the
- 24:51Speaker 3: incarcerated parent with a special note from them and a
- 24:54Speaker 3: Bible attached. It's a wonderful, wonderful program with great people
- 24:58Speaker 3: who have a heart for g Jesus and They just
- 25:01Speaker 3: look forward to molding these children from introverted, unhappy kids
- 25:07Speaker 3: who are trapped in a hot city or a bad
- 25:09Speaker 3: neighborhood into a happy summer camper and if they get
- 25:13Speaker 3: to spend a week in the fresh air horseback riding
- 25:16Speaker 3: or swimming, or archery or the other things. Hugh Hewitt
- 25:20Speaker 3: always mentions lanyards. I never made a lanyard in my life,
- 25:24Speaker 3: nor do I want to know what one is. But
- 25:27Speaker 3: he goes every year he goes crazy, got a lanyard
- 25:30Speaker 3: a camp. It's an experience I can'll never forget. So
- 25:36Speaker 3: trust me, it's an opportunity to turn a child's life
- 25:39Speaker 3: around from being part of potentially the criminal justice system.
- 25:44Speaker 3: If they don't break that cycle of crime, they end
- 25:47Speaker 3: up repeating their parents' footsteps. This is a chance to
- 25:50Speaker 3: really turn things around and bless them with a gift
- 25:55Speaker 3: that won't harm you financially. Maybe have to tighten your
- 25:59Speaker 3: belt a little bit, as haven't said, but it will
- 26:01Speaker 3: truly bless them for eternity.
- 26:03Speaker 4: Yeah. Well, I happen to live in maybe one of
- 26:06Speaker 4: the most expensive places in the country, so if I
- 26:08Speaker 4: want to have a date night with my wife, it
- 26:11Speaker 4: is very uncharacteristic if we can ever come out of
- 26:15Speaker 4: date night at under two hundred dollars for just a
- 26:18Speaker 4: nice dinner in the city and some time together, and
- 26:21Speaker 4: that's just a gas and that's that, and that's why
- 26:25Speaker 4: we only do it about once a month because we
- 26:27Speaker 4: have to live on a budget. But friends, I'm saying,
- 26:30Speaker 4: you consider that, and you think about well, for instance,
- 26:34Speaker 4: if I drive my kids through the drive through of
- 26:36Speaker 4: Chick fil A on a weekend, which is only Saturdays
- 26:40Speaker 4: because they're not open on Sundays. But if we do
- 26:42Speaker 4: the drive through Chick fil A, I think it costs
- 26:44Speaker 4: us getting what everybody their normal order is. I think
- 26:47Speaker 4: it costs us exactly forty eight dollars and fifty nine cents.
- 26:50Speaker 4: And I know that it cost us forty eight dollars
- 26:52Speaker 4: and fifty nine cents because I've paid exactly that amount
- 26:54Speaker 4: on my credit card many weekends in a row going
- 26:57Speaker 4: through the Chick fil A drive through, paying forty eight
- 26:59Speaker 4: dollars and fifty nine cents. Well for two more dollars
- 27:03Speaker 4: and four weekends where we maybe stay home and have
- 27:05Speaker 4: peanut butter in the middle of the day on Saturday
- 27:08Speaker 4: instead of going to the Chick fil a drive through
- 27:10Speaker 4: one for one month. We could make a kid's camp
- 27:13Speaker 4: dream come true. If you need to give two hundred
- 27:16Speaker 4: dollars a month for the next two years and make
- 27:18Speaker 4: sure that you know forty eight kids or twenty four
- 27:21Speaker 4: kids get to go to camp, then do that. Do
- 27:23Speaker 4: whatever God prompts your heart to do. I'm not here
- 27:26Speaker 4: to tell you that part of it. I just I
- 27:28Speaker 4: just get to tell you about how good it's going
- 27:30Speaker 4: to be for the kid and how I'm just jazzed
- 27:33Speaker 4: to get to be a part of it, to see
- 27:35Speaker 4: that joy come into their life. Here's the phone number.
- 27:38Speaker 4: It's eight eight eight two oh six two seven ninety
- 27:40Speaker 4: four triple eight two O six two seven ninety four.
- 27:43Speaker 4: Go to that kevinshow dot com, click the angel tree

- 27:52Speaker 4: Kevin McCullough coming ride back.
- 28:05Speaker 7: Here he is from New York. Fact Kevin, Kevin McCullough.
- 28:14Speaker 4: Welcome back. It is that Kevin Show, that kevinshow dot
- 28:17Speaker 4: com where every single day we are trying to kind
- 28:20Speaker 4: of break through the chaos with some common sense and
- 28:24Speaker 4: hopefully give you some things to think about as we
- 28:27Speaker 4: go through the top headlines of the day. Also, I
- 28:30Speaker 4: love to talk about things like money and travel and
- 28:33Speaker 4: wellness and other things as well. And Linda Perillo, who
- 28:37Speaker 4: is a good friend, also joins me on Tuesday nights
- 28:41Speaker 4: with a local radio show in the New York area
- 28:43Speaker 4: on AM nine seventy The Answer here in New York
- 28:47Speaker 4: nine seventy. Answer dot com is where you can listen online.
- 28:50Speaker 4: But she is the iconic Perillo family. Yeah heard that
- 28:56Speaker 4: her dad was on TV all through the seventies. I
- 28:59Speaker 4: remember Linda growing up in Texas watching your dad on
- 29:03Speaker 4: TV commercials and I always thought, Wow, he lives in
- 29:05Speaker 4: New York and he takes people to Italy. That is
- 29:07Speaker 4: just the coolest thing in the world. I wonderful let
- 29:10Speaker 4: and here I'm now partners with his daughter on a
- 29:14Speaker 4: weekly radio show.
- 29:15Speaker 2: But it's crazy, you've.
- 29:18Speaker 4: Got a best seller out. It's all about your life,
- 29:21Speaker 4: your kids and if people are just tuning in, you've
- 29:24Speaker 4: raised eight of them, so you know a little bit
- 29:26Speaker 4: about it. My bride over the weekend, handt to virus
- 29:30Speaker 4: hantavirus hantavirus. What do you think, what's the latest? What
- 29:33Speaker 4: do we know? Is this going to be COVID all
- 29:35Speaker 4: over again? What does Linda Perillo think about hand to
- 29:37Speaker 4: virus and its impact on how people should be thinking
- 29:40Speaker 4: about travel right now?
- 29:42Speaker 10: Well, I think I had mentioned this to you that
- 29:45Speaker 10: Gene Hackman's wife died of Hanta virus, and you know,
- 29:51Speaker 10: in almost fifty nine years on this earth, that was
- 29:53Speaker 10: the first time I had ever heard of Hanta virus.
- 29:56Speaker 2: And it is rodent transfer rodent feces.
- 30:02Speaker 10: But if you listen to these infectious disease doctors, they're
- 30:07Speaker 10: saying transfer from human to human is actually difficult. So
- 30:12Speaker 10: you either have to come in direct contact with the
- 30:14Speaker 10: feces or be with somebody that's a carrier.
- 30:17Speaker 2: And the incubation period it could be up to forty
- 30:20Speaker 2: two days.
- 30:20Speaker 10: That's a long time, so like husband and wife, somebody
- 30:23Speaker 10: that's been infected. If you read the history of this
- 30:26Speaker 10: cruise where it originated.
- 30:28Speaker 2: The guy, the first guy that got it.
- 30:30Speaker 10: Was in god knows where where the heck was he
- 30:32Speaker 10: Kevin in some weird show.
- 30:35Speaker 2: I mean, nobody's going there. And then they're going on.
- 30:40Speaker 10: These cruises that go to these interesting places that are
- 30:43Speaker 10: weird that I would never go on, Not that that
- 30:45Speaker 10: has anything to do with it, but the ps in
- 30:48Speaker 10: this is I am not a look knock Wood, right,
- 30:52Speaker 10: I am not afraid of I'm afraid of other things.
- 30:55Speaker 2: Before.
- 30:55Speaker 10: I'm afraid of hands the virus. I'm afraid of cancer
- 30:58Speaker 10: before I'm afraid of hand virus. I'm afraid of an accident.
- 31:01Speaker 10: I'm afraid of my seventeen year old who just got
- 31:03Speaker 10: his license in the last six months getting into a car.
- 31:06Speaker 10: Like those are the things, well, those are the things.
- 31:08Speaker 10: What I'm saying is, those are the things that concern
- 31:11Speaker 10: me on a day to day. I don't this is
- 31:13Speaker 10: a pandemic. I think that the press is going to
- 31:16Speaker 10: run with this like they ran with COVID, and I
- 31:19Speaker 10: think that it will. This is just my own opinion
- 31:22Speaker 10: and I could be wrong. I think it will fizzle out.
- 31:26Speaker 10: And I don't think we should be overly concerned, like
- 31:29Speaker 10: not going on a cruise. I think if you go
- 31:31Speaker 10: on a cruise, should you be concerned about neurovirus? Concerned
- 31:36Speaker 10: in the back of your head, you know, do all
- 31:38Speaker 10: the right protocol, wash your hands, use a hand sanitizer,
- 31:42Speaker 10: don't lick your fingers if you put.
- 31:43Speaker 2: It in an elevator bar or what. These people are
- 31:47Speaker 2: drunk all over the touching every.
- 31:50Speaker 10: But my point is we can only do what we
- 31:54Speaker 10: can do, right, We can only do the prophylactic preventative
- 31:57Speaker 10: things that we can do.
- 32:00Speaker 2: Anything else is in the Lord's hands.
- 32:02Speaker 4: Well that's unfortunately, right, It's all in the Lord's hands.
- 32:05Speaker 4: And here's the thing that I really think is quite astounding.
- 32:09Speaker 4: Everything that we were told that COVID was going to
- 32:12Speaker 4: be turned out to be not true, and everything that
- 32:15Speaker 4: those of us that were kind of on the conspiracy side,
- 32:17Speaker 4: and I was called a conspiracist even though I didn't
- 32:20Speaker 4: have any conspiracy theories. I just asked questions, Okay, so
- 32:24Speaker 4: I see that this is being said about this, well
- 32:26Speaker 4: would this work? But I still got labeled as one
- 32:29Speaker 4: because pushback against any of the smart people in the
- 32:33Speaker 4: room was always like, you know, well you questioned doctor Fauci,
- 32:36Speaker 4: you must be, you know, an idiot. But that all
- 32:41Speaker 4: turned out to be false and wrong and backwards. So
- 32:43Speaker 4: I think the American people, number one, are way way
- 32:47Speaker 4: way less trusting of anything coming from health right now,
- 32:52Speaker 4: especially you know, from the government. And I think that's
- 32:56Speaker 4: kind of non denominational regarding party. I don't care if
- 32:59Speaker 4: you're republic un a Democrat. I think people just right
- 33:01Speaker 4: now in general look at the the governmental programs and
- 33:06Speaker 4: they go, well, government is the one saying that what
- 33:08Speaker 4: what are the medical people actually saying? Which is? Which is?
- 33:11Speaker 4: I think the more reasonable way to go about it.
- 33:14Speaker 4: And if we had done that with COVID, we would
- 33:16Speaker 4: have had we would we would not have had you know, thousand,
- 33:20Speaker 4: tens of thousands of seniors dying in nursing homes because
- 33:23Speaker 4: Cuomo would have said, I shouldn't probably put old people in,
- 33:27Speaker 4: you know, in close contact with people that are positive
- 33:31Speaker 4: when we knew that overweight and age were the two
- 33:33Speaker 4: biggest contributing factors to the reason people were dying.
- 33:36Speaker 2: From COVID well unhealthy, right.
- 33:38Speaker 4: So this is different. There's no aerosol component to the hantavirus.
- 33:43Speaker 4: You have to come into contact with it physically. And
- 33:46Speaker 4: even people that are being exposed to people that have
- 33:49Speaker 4: had it, unless they have some sort of intimate contact
- 33:51Speaker 4: with them, they're not It doesn't look like they're getting it.
- 33:54Speaker 4: But we'll keep our eye on it and we'll watch it.
- 33:56Speaker 4: I don't want to minimize something that may be the
- 33:59Speaker 4: same time. I'm not ready to I'm not ready to
- 34:02Speaker 4: shut all of the world down to paranoia.
- 34:04Speaker 2: Yeah, the paranoia.
- 34:05Speaker 10: And you know, listen, I'm Italian. We are paranoid of everything.
- 34:09Speaker 10: And yeah, and this is not one of the things
- 34:14Speaker 10: that is like overtaking my brain. There are things that
- 34:16Speaker 10: overtake my brain a lot. The hantavirus is not.
- 34:20Speaker 2: It's there, right, we have I live, like I said,
- 34:22Speaker 2: I live in the woods. I mean we've had mice
- 34:24Speaker 2: in the house.
- 34:25Speaker 10: We had I mean, like it just happens. You live
- 34:28Speaker 10: in the suburbs Kevin. There are rodents everywhere. And here's
- 34:31Speaker 10: the other thing, do you know, I mean, I could
- 34:34Speaker 10: admit my age. I'm going to be fifty nine in July.
- 34:37Speaker 10: I'm a foodie and I've traveled a lot. I mean,
- 34:40Speaker 10: do you know how much garbage And I'm going to
- 34:44Speaker 10: use that word garbage I must have eaten in my
- 34:47Speaker 10: lifetime and been exposed to that you don't even realize
- 34:51Speaker 10: you've eaten.
- 34:52Speaker 4: Well, that's part of how we keep our immune systems bolstered.
- 34:54Speaker 4: As we get exposed to and our body fights it off.
- 34:57Speaker 4: But the protocols for co COVID actually reversed that trend,
- 35:02Speaker 4: and people then became even more immune susceptible because they
- 35:05Speaker 4: hadn't been fighting off the bacteria and viruses during that time.
- 35:09Speaker 4: So anyway, common sense needs to prevail. Hey, Linda and
- 35:13Speaker 4: I are leading a trip to Italy. If you have
- 35:15Speaker 4: not signed up for it, you are running out of
- 35:16Speaker 4: time and we are running out of seats, and it's
- 35:19Speaker 4: going to be incredible. Four days in Rome, four days
- 35:21Speaker 4: on the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Positano, Sorrento is where we

- 35:39Speaker 4: very very glad you did. Linda, Thank you. We'll talk
- 35:42Speaker 4: to you again next time.
- 35:43Speaker 2: Oh my pleasure.
- 35:44Speaker 4: Kevin McCullough coming right back.
- 35:46Speaker 11: Let's stick around for more off than Kevin.
- 35:49Speaker 12: Next it up.
- 36:00Speaker 7: With a no drink minimum.
- 36:03Speaker 4: It's that cabin the show, all right. Welcome back, Kevin mccallough.
- 36:10Speaker 4: Glad to have you with us coming up at the end
- 36:12Speaker 4: of the show. I've got some thoughts on something that
- 36:14Speaker 4: happened last night that I want to I just want
- 36:16Speaker 4: to make sure that I say because I've been thinking
- 36:18Speaker 4: it all year, and it's one of those things where
- 36:22Speaker 4: I've complained so badly about some of the things that
- 36:25Speaker 4: have gone so wrong, particularly in culture, particularly in entertainment,
- 36:29Speaker 4: particularly in the music arena. That something happened last night
- 36:34Speaker 4: that was incredible as it was happening, and then the
- 36:37Speaker 4: end result was just as incredible, And I'll bring some
- 36:42Speaker 4: clarity to all that coming up. I do want to
- 36:44Speaker 4: say that we cannot get one hundred and sixty two
- 36:49Speaker 4: kids to Christian camp this year without your help. And
- 36:55Speaker 4: you're gonna hear me wax eloquent about this in the
- 36:58Speaker 4: days to come. My friend Tom Traddap is on with
- 37:01Speaker 4: me today. I am so grateful for so much that
- 37:06Speaker 4: happened in my life because of the ability to go
- 37:08Speaker 4: to a Christian camp, to be able to be taught
- 37:14Speaker 4: about what understanding Jesus, who he was, and what he accomplished,
- 37:20Speaker 4: and what his will is for me and all the
- 37:22Speaker 4: rest of that. That's a big part of it. But
- 37:25Speaker 4: in addition to that this idea that the relationships I made,
- 37:30Speaker 4: the moments of study, that I had to just not
- 37:35Speaker 4: learn biblical passages or read Versus, but then to sit
- 37:40Speaker 4: in God's beauty, in God's nature and reflect upon what
- 37:43Speaker 4: that meant in the world around me, and to see
- 37:47Speaker 4: the beauty of his setting sun, to see the beauty
- 37:49Speaker 4: of his creation, the beautiful lake and forest and trees
- 37:52Speaker 4: and stuff that I you know, growing up in the suburbs,
- 37:55Speaker 4: I wasn't a stranger to nature, but it wasn't what
- 37:58Speaker 4: I lived in. And if that's true for me, friend,
- 38:03Speaker 4: I just have to tell you, if it's true for me,
- 38:05Speaker 4: it is doubly true for the kids that Angel Tree
- 38:08Speaker 4: is trying to help, because they are growing up many
- 38:13Speaker 4: times in an almost incarceration existence themselves. Yeah, it's their
- 38:18Speaker 4: parent that has committed the crime and is behind bars,
- 38:22Speaker 4: but growing up in public housing, growing up in run
- 38:25Speaker 4: down neighborhoods, growing up in buildings with no air conditioning,
- 38:28Speaker 4: growing up with just an existence that almost excludes nature
- 38:34Speaker 4: to some degree. To then have the chance to get
- 38:39Speaker 4: on a bus and drive to the country and see
- 38:42Speaker 4: grass in blue sky and stars at night. There are
- 38:46Speaker 4: literally kids that have gone to Angel Tree Camp who
- 38:48Speaker 4: never saw stars before their first night of camp in
- 38:51Speaker 4: their whole life. This is one of those things where
- 38:56Speaker 4: I just hope you catch the vision for it, and
- 38:58Speaker 4: we just have real quickly dozens of people that say,
- 39:01Speaker 4: you know what, I can sponsor one, two, three, five
- 39:03Speaker 4: kids at camp, and I want to do that and
- 39:06Speaker 4: jump right in right now. A thousand dollars would take
- 39:08Speaker 4: care of a week of camp for five children. For
- 39:12Speaker 4: about one thousand dollars, I can send my kids away
- 39:15Speaker 4: to sleep away camp one of them. I can send
- 39:17Speaker 4: one of my kids away for a week of sleep
- 39:20Speaker 4: away camp for about a thousand dollars. For a thousand
- 39:24Speaker 4: dollars to Angel Tree, you could help maybe a brother
- 39:28Speaker 4: and sister, or an entire family of kids, or maybe
- 39:30Speaker 4: two families of kids have a week of camp that
- 39:34Speaker 4: they would not have otherwise. And the best part of
- 39:37Speaker 4: all of it is that they're going to be discipled
- 39:42Speaker 4: by counselors who are not only Christians, who are not
- 39:46Speaker 4: only Christian counselors who want to help children, but that
- 39:50Speaker 4: are children that came out of their some of their
- 39:52Speaker 4: same backgrounds. Some of the counselors are kids that started
- 39:55Speaker 4: out going to Angel Tree Camp, had their lives changed,
- 40:02Speaker 4: became believers, dedicated their lives to Jesus, and are now
- 40:06Speaker 4: participating with Angeltry to help the next generation of kids
- 40:10Speaker 4: come to know him. I just think it's an amazing thing,
- 40:13Speaker 4: and I just want everybody to be involved and to
- 40:15Speaker 4: help us get as many of these kids go to

- 42:01Speaker 1: not who he used.
- 42:02Speaker 12: To Very.
- 42:08Speaker 4: Welcome to our number two. It's That Kevin Show, that
- 42:10Speaker 4: Kevinshow dot Com. We've got a lot to get to
- 42:13Speaker 4: this hour, and I'm so grateful that you're with us.
- 42:16Speaker 4: Coming up, Katie McFarland will be here, Tom Tradda will
- 42:19Speaker 4: be back, and doctor Jacob Oladort from the America First
- 42:22Speaker 4: Policy Institute all weighing in today on some of the
- 42:25Speaker 4: big big stories, which are going to include Iran and
- 42:29Speaker 4: China both. I'll be getting directly into this with KT shortly,
- 42:32Speaker 4: but in the first hour I opened with a premise
- 42:35Speaker 4: that I want I want the administration in their meetings
- 42:39Speaker 4: with G to go in there with some leverage and
- 42:41Speaker 4: to really put the elbow to the neck of G
- 42:45Speaker 4: on their involvement in Ukraine in Iran. And I think
- 42:48Speaker 4: you got to address that immediately. And you've got to
- 42:50Speaker 4: get some sort of concession from them. And I don't
- 42:51Speaker 4: care if you threaten five thousand percent tariffs on everything
- 42:56Speaker 4: that you know they want to do, and then you you,
- 43:01Speaker 4: you know, promise them on all nations doing business with them,
- 43:04Speaker 4: et cetera. I think you've got to get really tough,
- 43:06Speaker 4: really fast. But there's two other things I would like
- 43:09Speaker 4: to see the Trump administration push for, and I just
- 43:11Speaker 4: learned of one today. Overwhelmed G and the Chinese delegation
- 43:17Speaker 4: with America's true AI dominance. Now, they're trying to build
- 43:22Speaker 4: energy plants and bring them online as fast as they
- 43:24Speaker 4: can to put up, you know, energy farms so that
- 43:27Speaker 4: they can farm enough power to have AI really do
- 43:31Speaker 4: what they need AI to do. America already has AI
- 43:35Speaker 4: dominance on the planet. We've already got power grids, We've
- 43:39Speaker 4: already got power farms, We've got a lot of things
- 43:41Speaker 4: that are going on. We're gonna build more, We're gonna
- 43:42Speaker 4: do more. We should be powering them with nuclear but
- 43:47Speaker 4: we're going to do them with with fossil fuels. We're
- 43:50Speaker 4: going to do them with coal. We're gonna do them
- 43:52Speaker 4: however we need to do. We're gonna, we're gonna put
- 43:55Speaker 4: these data centers in, these these these power farms in
- 44:00Speaker 4: and we're gonna we're gonna. We're not going to let
- 44:02Speaker 4: China win that. We cannot. We cannot allow them to
- 44:05Speaker 4: win the AI battle because if they do, they're going
- 44:08Speaker 4: to express military dominance over the rest of the world,
- 44:12Speaker 4: and we can't allow that to happen. They can't be
- 44:14Speaker 4: allowed to become the only pre eminent superpower on the planet.
- 44:18Speaker 4: So what's he doing by way of AI?
- 44:25Speaker 5: What?
- 44:25Speaker 4: What? What is the what? What? What should we promise?
- 44:27Speaker 4: What should we do? What should we focus on in
- 44:32Speaker 4: relationship to this topic. Well, one of the things that
- 44:34Speaker 4: the President's doing that I think is really smart is
- 44:36Speaker 4: he's bringing all the tech bros on Air Force one
- 44:38Speaker 4: with him. So you got Musk, you've got the head
- 44:41Speaker 4: of Apple, You've got the head of a couple of
- 44:43Speaker 4: the other chat GPT and some of the others that
- 44:46Speaker 4: are that are working on the AI next gen development
- 44:51Speaker 4: and they're gonna they're gonna have very candid discussions and say, look,
- 44:55Speaker 4: we are the dominant AI force to be reckoned with,
- 45:00Speaker 4: and we can do it so easily, and we can
- 45:02Speaker 4: do it pristinely, and you can't stop us. They need
- 45:05Speaker 4: to overwhelm and intimidate the Chinese delegation with the AI
- 45:09Speaker 4: dominance just so that they simply understand that America is
- 45:14Speaker 4: not behind and we're not going to fall behind that
- 45:17Speaker 4: with Trump, what we're going to do is we're going
- 45:19Speaker 4: to press forward and maintain the advantage as best we can.
- 45:23Speaker 4: And the partnership between Trump and Elon alone is going
- 45:25Speaker 4: to change that conversation. Because everybody thinks that Elon is
- 45:28Speaker 4: on the outs with Trump. He's actually not. He never
- 45:30Speaker 4: has been. But China really likes Elon. They think his
- 45:35Speaker 4: cars are cool, They like the stuff that he does
- 45:37Speaker 4: by way of the space stuff and all the rest
- 45:39Speaker 4: of that. Well, he can have a powerful role in
- 45:43Speaker 4: discussing this stuff with them, and just by being there,
- 45:47Speaker 4: sitting next to Trump or being on Trump's side of
- 45:49Speaker 4: the table, it's going to mean something to all of
- 45:52Speaker 4: the Chinese negotiators that are there and the different levels
- 45:56Speaker 4: of who they are meeting with and I think that
- 45:59Speaker 4: is I think that that is important on a couple
- 46:03Speaker 4: of different levels, but mainly it says to ge technologically,
- 46:05Speaker 4: you're not going to get an advantage in the tech sector,
- 46:09Speaker 4: and you're not going to get the advantage long term
- 46:10Speaker 4: militarily because of that advantage in the tech sector. And
- 46:14Speaker 4: we reserve the right, by the way to use our
- 46:17Speaker 4: advantage to cripple you militarily if we feel threatened or
- 46:20Speaker 4: in need to. They got to be straightforward about this.
- 46:24Speaker 4: You can't just pussy foot around. You've got to actually
- 46:27Speaker 4: say what you mean and do demonstrate the truth of
- 46:31Speaker 4: what you're saying at every turn. But I feel like
- 46:35Speaker 4: this is the this could be, if done properly, the
- 46:40Speaker 4: slide of hand, single stroke that more masterfully produces a
- 46:46Speaker 4: Trump win across more areas of policy and impact than
- 46:51Speaker 4: anything else he could do here in the early part
- 46:53Speaker 4: of his second term. I want to know what it is.
- 46:57Speaker 4: It's this simple cut, an energy G cut, an energy
- 47:01Speaker 4: deal with g that he cannot refuse. Tell him, you're
- 47:08Speaker 4: buying oil from Iran at this rate, You're buying oil
- 47:10Speaker 4: from Russia at this rate. They're dirty sources. You have
- 47:14Speaker 4: to clean it up. You have to refine it, you
- 47:16Speaker 4: have to do all that mess. This is what you're paying.
- 47:20Speaker 4: This is how much you're getting for it. You think
- 47:22Speaker 4: you're getting a deal. It's all black market. You're not
- 47:25Speaker 4: in good standing with the rest of the global community,
- 47:27Speaker 4: et cetera, etc. And then he goes. But if you
- 47:32Speaker 4: allow America to begin to be your energy supplier, we
- 47:38Speaker 4: have more natural gas and cleaner oil than anybody else
- 47:41Speaker 4: on the planet. We can supply your needs and never
- 47:45Speaker 4: even touch or come within a threatening touch of hurting ours.
- 47:49Speaker 4: We have that much energy at our disposal. And remember
- 47:52Speaker 4: we have control of the Venezuelan energy. We may soon
- 47:55Speaker 4: have control of the Iranian energy. But we've got a
- 47:58Speaker 4: lot of energy at our bosal. Encourage China to come
- 48:04Speaker 4: out of the shadows. No more black market stuff. Cut
- 48:07Speaker 4: them a price on the public market that is the
- 48:09Speaker 4: lowest that it can possibly be, because we have more
- 48:12Speaker 4: volume than anybody else, and ask him to cut that deal. Now,
- 48:16Speaker 4: what does that do. Well on a couple of things,
- 48:20Speaker 4: it's very practical. On the Russian front, you bankrupt Putin
- 48:26Speaker 4: because Putin needs China to buy a lot, lot of
- 48:29Speaker 4: his illegal oil to keep his wars going. There may
- 48:32Speaker 4: already be riffs here because you're seeing Putin talking about
- 48:36Speaker 4: maybe heading home before long. Who knows, but it would
- 48:41Speaker 4: put at least a little division between Putin and g
- 48:44Speaker 4: which is really in our interest to not have them
- 48:46Speaker 4: acting in unison. Secondly, it ends Chinese relationship with the
- 48:53Speaker 4: Iatolas and the horrendous, heinous people in charge in Iran.
- 49:00Speaker 4: We don't have to go through a strait of anything
- 49:01Speaker 4: to get it to him. We just sail straight across
- 49:03Speaker 4: the ocean. There is there is zero delay in terms
- 49:08Speaker 4: of what America can deliver to China. We can do
- 49:11Speaker 4: the same thing to Europe, and we should be. We
- 49:13Speaker 4: should be going country to country in Europe saying we
- 49:16Speaker 4: can get you energy at a lower cost than what
- 49:18Speaker 4: you're paying. Let us be your primary supplier. We could
- 49:23Speaker 4: do that in a heartbeat. What that would do with
- 49:26Speaker 4: Russia and Iran, though, is it would completely begin to
- 49:29Speaker 4: cut off sever the relationship between them and China, which
- 49:33Speaker 4: does not benefit China a great deal. They buy cheap
- 49:36Speaker 4: stuff from them to burn in their plants as energy.
- 49:40Speaker 4: They would get higher density, better quality, cleaner energy from us.
- 49:44Speaker 4: Our energy producers would make money, our economy would get better,
- 49:49Speaker 4: the price of energy across the board would drop, and
- 49:51Speaker 4: you would be taking a different approach with g As
- 49:54Speaker 4: opposed to always having hostility language involved, you're now talking
- 49:57Speaker 4: about with him looking at it from a a mutually
- 50:00Speaker 4: beneficial standpoint. He may still be a hostile power, but
- 50:05Speaker 4: at least you're talking about doing things from a mutually
- 50:08Speaker 4: beneficial standpoint. And I think that that could be a
- 50:11Speaker 4: really huge deal. So what do I want out of Trump?
- 50:13Speaker 4: I want him to get China to sever their relationship
- 50:16Speaker 4: to the Two Wars. I want them to be completely
- 50:19Speaker 4: impressed by our tech bros as they roll up with
- 50:21Speaker 4: the President. And I want the President to cut an
- 50:23Speaker 4: energy deal that would make China customer of the US
- 50:26Speaker 4: for years to come, peeling them away from Iran and Russia.
- 50:29Speaker 4: We'll see it probably won't happen, I'm being told all
- 50:31Speaker 4: over the place. It's kind of pie in the sky.
- 50:33Speaker 4: But that would be That would be the three things
- 50:35Speaker 4: I would want to see happen if I could get
- 50:37Speaker 4: into President Trump's.
- 50:38Speaker 9: Here for a day.
- 50:39Speaker 4: Kevin mckella coming right back. Don't go away.
- 50:54Speaker 7: Here, he is from New York.
- 50:57Speaker 4: That Kevin mccolla, all right, welcome, in it's the Tuesday edition,
- 51:05Speaker 4: and you know that every Tuesday we focus a little
- 51:08Speaker 4: more on foreign policy than some of the other days
- 51:09Speaker 4: of the week, and I'm very glad to do that.
- 51:11Speaker 4: This portion of the show brought to you in part
- 51:12Speaker 4: also by Project Angel Tree Summer Camp for kids whose
- 51:16Speaker 4: parents are incarcerated and friends. I know that Christian Summer
- 51:19Speaker 4: Camp for me made a huge difference as a young person.
- 51:21Speaker 4: Would you give a young child whose parent has made
- 51:25Speaker 4: a mistake but has seen the air of their ways
- 51:26Speaker 4: an opportunity to know God and nature for themselves. I
- 51:30Speaker 4: would appreciate it if you would eight eight eight two
- 51:33Speaker 4: zero six two seven four six eight eight two zero
- 51:36Speaker 4: six two seven four six to help a child find
- 51:39Speaker 4: Angel Tree Camp this summer. Katie McFarland is back with
- 51:43Speaker 4: us KT. Always a pleasure to have you here. I'm
- 51:45Speaker 4: reading this morning that and I wrote about it at
- 51:49Speaker 4: town Hall that you know, Trump and g are going
- 51:51Speaker 4: to meet. They're going to talk about a number of things.
- 51:54Speaker 4: The top three priorities I would like to see the
- 51:57Speaker 4: President focus on would be to expressed to China in
- 52:01Speaker 4: the strongest of terms that it's really not in their
- 52:03Speaker 4: interest to continue meddling in either the Ukraine or the
- 52:05Speaker 4: Iranian wars, that they should understand that technology is something
- 52:10Speaker 4: that America is going to dominate, and he's going to
- 52:12Speaker 4: have all the tech guys with him. I think the
- 52:14Speaker 4: tech bros being on Air Force one is just the coolest.
- 52:17Speaker 4: But the thing I really want him to do is
- 52:19Speaker 4: to slice up a deal and make this possible to
- 52:25Speaker 4: sell liquid natural gas to China in enormous amounts and
- 52:29Speaker 4: basically have them cut off Iran and Russia from their
- 52:32Speaker 4: energy supply and in some ways deepen a relationship with
- 52:36Speaker 4: US that begins to peel them away from that axis
- 52:38Speaker 4: of evil a little bit at a time. That's what
- 52:41Speaker 4: I would love to see him do. What would you
- 52:42Speaker 4: like to see him do?
- 52:44Speaker 6: Well? I think those are all great, and I think
- 52:46Speaker 6: that the first one is achievable, maybe kind of, I'll
- 52:50Speaker 6: say something nice. The second one is definitely China wants
- 52:53Speaker 6: to have continued economic relationships and trade relationships with the US.
- 52:58Speaker 6: The third one and we'll see, but that would be
- 53:01Speaker 6: a great pitch for President Trump to make to China.
- 53:03Speaker 6: The reason China doesn't want to get off of Iranian
- 53:07Speaker 6: oil and get onto American oil loquified natural gases because
- 53:13Speaker 6: ours is more expensive. China buys from Iran at a
- 53:17Speaker 6: greatly discounted rate because it's illegal, and China doesn't care
- 53:21Speaker 6: of it. It's illegal. China doesn't care that Around has
- 53:24Speaker 6: been sanctioned. China cares about cheap oil, cheap gas, and
- 53:27Speaker 6: ad buys from Around for that reason. I think that
- 53:30Speaker 6: when you look at why is President Trump doing this
- 53:33Speaker 6: trip and it's the tech bros, it's for a couple
- 53:36Speaker 6: of reasons, mostly with regard to trade. We want China
- 53:41Speaker 6: to buy our agricultural products. We want to buy from
- 53:46Speaker 6: China rare earth minerals, which we don't have any of
- 53:49Speaker 6: our own, but we're quickly on the way to getting them.
- 53:52Speaker 6: China's interest in this is they want to buy our
- 53:54Speaker 6: microprocessing chips and they want to sell to the American consumer.
- 53:59Speaker 6: Now China us more in this trade. Then we need them,
- 54:03Speaker 6: but we both need each other. And what I think
- 54:06Speaker 6: the President is trying to do is say, Okay, let's
- 54:08Speaker 6: regular You know, we're not going to give up on
- 54:10Speaker 6: the fact that we're strategic competitors, potentially strategic adversaries, but
- 54:15Speaker 6: what we want to do is regularize our trade. Relationship
- 54:19Speaker 6: in the meantime, and that's a good goal. That's a
- 54:21Speaker 6: good goal for us, and it's a good goal for China.
- 54:24Speaker 6: The Iran part of it, though, is the more interesting
- 54:27Speaker 6: and a lot of ways more interesting question, because China
- 54:30Speaker 6: needs Iran's oil. China needs the oil that it gets
- 54:34Speaker 6: out of the entire Middle East region that it's not
- 54:36Speaker 6: getting now. It's not just Iran, but it's oil from
- 54:39Speaker 6: Iraq and saudiast and UAE. None of that is getting
- 54:42Speaker 6: to China right now. And so the Chinese have a
- 54:47Speaker 6: real incentive to work with us to close this war out,
- 54:51Speaker 6: to open the straight, to open the golf, in other words,
- 54:54Speaker 6: to pressure Iran to cut a deal.
- 54:59Speaker 4: So this is going to happen concurrently with what some
- 55:03Speaker 4: experts are saying will be a resumption of kinetic activity
- 55:07Speaker 4: in Iran. And I'm curious, first of all, do you
- 55:10Speaker 4: agree with that premise. It seems like the President was
- 55:13Speaker 4: very put out yesterday with this kind of laughable response
- 55:17Speaker 4: that the Iranians made to the most recent ceasefire proposals,
- 55:21Speaker 4: and he has said they have been running on fumes
- 55:23Speaker 4: when it came when it comes to extended time to
- 55:26Speaker 4: cut a deal, to begin with, do you think that
- 55:30Speaker 4: he will resume that activity and would it be to
- 55:34Speaker 4: his advantage for it to be going on while he's
- 55:36Speaker 4: in China talking with g.
- 55:38Speaker 6: I honestly don't think he's going to do it while
- 55:40Speaker 6: he's in China, just because that said a lot of
- 55:43Speaker 6: moving parts, and it really will detract from what I
- 55:47Speaker 6: think will be a very successful trip with China and
- 55:50Speaker 6: a trade trip. Will he resume Yes, I think he will.
- 55:55Speaker 6: If I were advising him, I would say, immediately open
- 55:59Speaker 6: up the straight, So resume project freedom. Whether it's the
- 56:03Speaker 6: United States escorting vessels, whether it's the United States providing
- 56:07Speaker 6: defense against anything Iran could do to attack those vessels
- 56:12Speaker 6: going through. But open that right away, because that will
- 56:14Speaker 6: have the biggest effect on the global price of oil
- 56:17Speaker 6: and therefore the gasoline price that we're paying at the pump.
- 56:20Speaker 6: And at the same time, I would say, yes, we're
- 56:23Speaker 6: in you know, resume military actions. Certainly keep the blockade
- 56:27Speaker 6: for a long time, but resume military actions to convince
- 56:31Speaker 6: Iran to have a serious negotiation. But these are really
- 56:34Speaker 6: two different things. One is open up the straight and
- 56:37Speaker 6: the other is Iran, will you do a deal with us?
- 56:40Speaker 6: And as long as the straight is closed, there's pressure
- 56:44Speaker 6: against us because of well the pressure against the world
- 56:46Speaker 6: because of the high oil prices as long as the
- 56:49Speaker 6: blockade is in place. So those are two different things,
- 56:51Speaker 6: as straight upward moves being closed by Iran and then
- 56:54Speaker 6: the blockade that we're imposing on Iranian vessels. That hurts
- 56:58Speaker 6: Iran and that frankly hurts and anybody who's buying sheep
- 57:01Speaker 6: Iranian oil. So I think both of them to be
- 57:03Speaker 6: addressed immediately upon return. But I think you can't just
- 57:08Speaker 6: expect a run to come back now with some kind
- 57:11Speaker 6: of a reasonable proposal.
- 57:13Speaker 5: They're done.
- 57:13Speaker 4: Nobody thought they were going to come up with a
- 57:15Speaker 4: reasonable proposal to begin with. They are they are games players.
- 57:18Speaker 4: That's they're totally that's.
- 57:22Speaker 6: Wash rensid and repeat. You know, have a negotiation, delay
- 57:25Speaker 6: a greater part of it. Let's renegotiate it. It's washed
- 57:27Speaker 6: rensid and repeat.
- 57:28Speaker 5: Yes, as you.
- 57:29Speaker 6: Said, delay, delay, delay, So President Trump was pretty clear
- 57:34Speaker 6: when he said, I'm not even going to read that.
- 57:36Speaker 6: It's just such garbage their proposal. So I think he's
- 57:39Speaker 6: concluded that, Okay, we've given every opportunity for a round
- 57:42Speaker 6: to have an off ramp. Every opportunity for around to
- 57:45Speaker 6: negotiate now around a plan.
- 57:47Speaker 4: B Iron despite being blockaded and having these the ceasefire
- 57:53Speaker 4: to the degree that it is in place, has been
- 57:56Speaker 4: firing missiles and drones that people like the UAE. I'm
- 58:01Speaker 4: hearing rumors that the UAE is getting ready to respond
- 58:06Speaker 4: as well. Will we see more of that from Abraham
- 58:09Speaker 4: accord members taking on their own defense and saying, you're
- 58:12Speaker 4: going to shoot stuff at us, We're going to shoot back.
- 58:14Speaker 6: Yeah, it'd be crazy not to shoot back, right, every
- 58:16Speaker 6: country should defend itself. And I think the irony and
- 58:20Speaker 6: what probably Run didn't anticipate is by attacking the golf
- 58:24Speaker 6: Arab countries UAE, particularly that the UAE and other golf
- 58:29Speaker 6: Arab countries would fight with Israel on the side of
- 58:33Speaker 6: Israel and the United States against Iran. And when all
- 58:38Speaker 6: the dust settles, I think that what you will see
- 58:40Speaker 6: is the Abraham of course, which are originally a trade
- 58:42Speaker 6: relationship and diplomatic relations, is now going to have a
- 58:47Speaker 6: military component where Israel and these golf Arab countries will
- 58:51Speaker 6: unite or somehow have a security relationship with each other
- 58:55Speaker 6: to pledge for their mutual defense. Israel is already loaning
- 59:00Speaker 6: or giving or selling to the UAE the Iron Dome.
- 59:04Speaker 4: Yeah, how close to the midterms can this run and
- 59:08Speaker 4: not impact what the Republicans need to do to not
- 59:12Speaker 4: just hold the House, but maybe win a couple of seats.
- 59:14Speaker 4: They're winning a lot of redistricting battles right now. It
- 59:17Speaker 4: looks like they could pick up some seats. But what
- 59:19Speaker 4: do they have to do to not feel the impact,
- 59:22Speaker 4: particularly of the pump prices come November.
- 59:25Speaker 5: Well, that's the key.
- 59:26Speaker 6: Is to get the oil flowing again and kick global
- 59:29Speaker 6: oil flowing again.
- 59:31Speaker 5: We've got our own oil.
- 59:32Speaker 6: We've got plenty of our own oil. Where the world's
- 59:34Speaker 6: largest oil exporters, the world's largest liquefied natural gas exporters
- 59:39Speaker 6: ISS you said at the beginning, But the global price
- 59:43Speaker 6: is affected, and it's affecting the price at the tank,
- 59:46Speaker 6: at the gasoline stations for American energy consumers, and it
- 59:50Speaker 6: also is having an effect on anything made in America
- 59:52Speaker 6: because gasoline is in part of all of our production
- 59:56Speaker 6: in manufacturing and transportation and foods, et cetera. So you've
- 1:00:01Speaker 6: got to get the price down, and the best way to
- 1:00:04Speaker 6: get the price down is to open the straight of
- 1:00:06Speaker 6: our moose.
- 1:00:07Speaker 4: Even though we don't need the straight for ourselves.
- 1:00:10Speaker 6: It's not us, you know, it's it's it's a global price.
- 1:00:13Speaker 6: It's like a straw going into a big cup. And okay,
- 1:00:17Speaker 6: so we have enough of our own, but other countries
- 1:00:20Speaker 6: draw on the drinking through that straw of the cup.
- 1:00:23Speaker 6: So yeah, it's really we've got to sort of do
- 1:00:25Speaker 6: it for everybody else, even though it is for everybody else,
- 1:00:28Speaker 6: because that everybody else part of it affects us. You know,
- 1:00:31Speaker 6: we the trade route through the Middle East, through the
- 1:00:33Speaker 6: Strait of hourmoves, that's not our trade route. That's Europe,
- 1:00:36Speaker 6: Middle East Asia, that's stuff going you know, the Europeans
- 1:00:39Speaker 6: are affected by it. Obviously, there's anybody in the Middle
- 1:00:42Speaker 6: East trying to buy or sell anything that goes to
- 1:00:44Speaker 6: their forest, and big, big person country is impacted is
- 1:00:49Speaker 6: everybody in Asia, but particularly China. That's where all their
- 1:00:52Speaker 6: energy comes from. That's where something like fifteen twenty percent.
- 1:00:55Speaker 6: It's not just around so oil, it's you know, as
- 1:00:57Speaker 6: I said, it's all these other countries.
- 1:00:58Speaker 5: Yea, So it's and.
- 1:01:00Speaker 6: Its total energy needs of China is about all that
- 1:01:04Speaker 6: Middle East oil together is probably fifteen percent. That's a
- 1:01:07Speaker 6: huge hit for Chinese industry to take if they're not
- 1:01:10Speaker 6: getting fifteen percent of their energy needs being that, which
- 1:01:13Speaker 6: is where.
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: I think the US could strike a deal. And even
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: if we had to deflate prices artificially for a period
- 1:01:19Speaker 4: of time, I think just peeling them off would be
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: an incredible strategy. But we'll see. I mean, I'm certainly
- 1:01:26Speaker 4: not the expert in this conversation. You are, and we
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: always appreciate your insights. Katie MacFarlane, thank you so much.
- 1:01:31Speaker 5: It's a pleasure. Thank you.
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: You got it. Kevin McCulloch coming right back. Don't go away,
- 1:01:35Speaker 4: Let's stick around for.
- 1:01:36Speaker 13: More of that Kevin next.
- 1:01:54Speaker 7: Here he is from New York.
- 1:01:56Speaker 5: That Kevin.
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: Kevin McCullough, welcome back. It's that Kevin Show, that Kevinshow
- 1:02:05Speaker 4: dot com. Nothing is We put nothing behind a paywall.
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: We make it always available for you to access all
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: the podcasts, columns, TV shows, radio. You're looking forward. You
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: want to join my social media, go to that kevinshow
- 1:02:17Speaker 4: dot com. It's super easy. And while you're there at
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: that Kevinshow dot com, on the homepage at the top,
- 1:02:24Speaker 4: you'll see this big banner with this child smiling like
- 1:02:28Speaker 4: there's something really cool happening in his life. And that's
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: because that kid went to an Angel Tree camp and
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: had an amazing experience finding Jesus and learning all about life.
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: Here to tell us why it's so good, it's Tom Traddup,
- 1:02:42Speaker 4: who's been an advocate for Prison Fellowship and Angel Tree
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: for a long time. And Tom, I think there's something
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: very sweet, very innocent, very pure about a child that
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: goes to camp for the first time. They're kind of
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: not knowing what to expect, even if their parents haven't
- 1:02:58Speaker 4: been in prison. I mean, just regular kids that are
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: growing up in the suburbs field in this way. But
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: imagine the multiplied impact of living in high rise projects
- 1:03:08Speaker 4: in a hot city where the sun beats down and
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: there's no air conditioning and you're surrounded by gangs and
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: crime and all the rest of it. And you get
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: to be taken out of that environment and put in
- 1:03:18Speaker 4: a place where your feet touch grass, and you get
- 1:03:22Speaker 4: to see what a tree feels like up close, and
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: you get to I don't know, ride a horse, or
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: paddle a paddle boat or take a canoe up up
- 1:03:31Speaker 4: a creek. You get to do all of this stuff
- 1:03:34Speaker 4: that you've never done before, and the emotional impact of it.
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: I think of it as kind of like an exploding
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: marker in some of those illustrations where kids get to
- 1:03:43Speaker 4: color things and the color changes and as it becomes
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: like more three D the more they color. That's what
- 1:03:48Speaker 4: you're doing to this kid's experience when he goes to
- 1:03:51Speaker 4: summer camp. It's a life that they've never dreamed of
- 1:03:54Speaker 4: and it just takes them by surprise.
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: So many people who are watching and listening can't relate
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: to what you just said, but it's totally totally true.
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: If you've ever seen the movie West Side Story, or
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: if you go back further into the old black and
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: white Glenn Ford Blackboard Jungle movie, that's where these kids live.
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: I mean, the excitement is, oh, I get to go
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: on the basketball court for half an hour and run
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: around on the hot concrete. They may have a park
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: in their neighborhood that's got one teeter totter that eighty
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: kids are trying to play on. Here's an opportunity where
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: they get on a bus, they go out of the city.
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: They are experiencing suburban and then rural life for the
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: first time, and they get off that bus and man,
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: it's like in the opening of The Wizard of Oz
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: to keep the movie theme going, when Dorothy goes from
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: black and white into technicolor. They suddenly are at a
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: summer camp that is a Christian fellowship from morning till night.
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: They get three squares a day where they sit together
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: with other kids, all of whom have a mom or
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: dad in prison, so they don't feel in any way
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: ostracized or like they're the odd person out. It's such
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: an amazing experience for them, and because of you and
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: your dollars that you donate, the miracle happens. It truly
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: is a transformation of them in a way that changes
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: their life for eternity.
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: And I really believe it's the best thing. I had
- 1:05:24Speaker 4: a personal fondness for Christian camp when I was a
- 1:05:28Speaker 4: kid growing up, and I didn't grow up in any
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: of the challenges that these kids have, so imagine the
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: impact it makes on them.
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: One of the things that they tell me is that,
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: and I hear this from kids at several of the
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: camps that we've visited, the biggest thing for them other
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: than sitting around a campfire, because campfire is a huge
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: deal and never seen one of those before.
- 1:05:50Speaker 5: Is breakfast. A lot of them never get breakfast.
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: And to have an opportunity to race across the lawn
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: and get to the cafe and they've got a woman
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: who looks like Aunt Bee on the Andy Griffiths show
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: mixing up pancakes.
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: Some of them have never seen a pancake.
- 1:06:07Speaker 5: Can you imagine this?
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: And to get bacon and eggs or pancakes and.
- 1:06:12Speaker 4: To go back to be like not worried about Yeah, it's.
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: It's just crazy how wonderful it is for them to
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: take things that we take for granted home with them
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: and to be excited about it, and it just really transforms.
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: Their lives, don't know how other to say it.
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: In rural Louisiana where I went to camp, there was
- 1:06:34Speaker 4: a cook that lived in the town where the camp
- 1:06:37Speaker 4: was located, and towards the end of my time there,
- 1:06:39Speaker 4: she could only come in one day a week. But
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: when I first started going to camp there, she was
- 1:06:43Speaker 4: there all five days of the of the work week,
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: and her name was ant Mona and elderly black lady, sweetheart.
- 1:06:54Speaker 4: She would come in and make these biscuits on Wednesday
- 1:06:57Speaker 4: that from scratch. Nobody knew the rest of it. Only
- 1:07:00Speaker 4: Aunt Mona knew the recipe. Those of us that were
- 1:07:02Speaker 4: on kitchen staff for our counselor duties, we would try
- 1:07:05Speaker 4: to figure out what was in the recipe. She'd never
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: tell it to anybody. But then after we would have
- 1:07:11Speaker 4: our lunch on Wednesday with an ample amount of Aunt
- 1:07:16Speaker 4: Mona's wonderful biscuits rolls in us, we would all ask
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: her to come out and sing, because she had this
- 1:07:22Speaker 4: lovely singings, and at like ninety six years old, she
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: would kind of hobble her way to the front of
- 1:07:28Speaker 4: the dining hall. She had a little microphone and she'd
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: sing us a song and it was always an old
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: spiritual of some sort, and it was like the highlight
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: of the week and talk about something that nobody had experienced.
- 1:07:40Speaker 4: But for me, camp always meant not only food, but
- 1:07:44Speaker 4: good food and maybe better food than these kids have
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: ever tasted in their life, because, as you said, that's
- 1:07:49Speaker 4: kind of like the nnahs are all in the kitchen
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: doing the stuff for the camps, and so it's all
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: really good stuff. Friends. It's so simple to do. It's
- 1:07:56Speaker 4: a one time gift of two hundred dollars, takes one
- 1:07:59Speaker 4: child to camp year eight eight eight two O six
- 1:08:01Speaker 4: two seven nine four eight eight eight two O six
- 1:08:04Speaker 4: two seven ninety four. You can also do it by

- 1:09:20Speaker 4: which you can get of today's conversation. Jacob Olidord is
- 1:09:23Speaker 4: back with us from the America First Policy Institute and Jacob,
- 1:09:26Speaker 4: it's been a one note pony for the last sixty
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: something days, maybe seventy days now, But where are we
- 1:09:34Speaker 4: when it comes to actual progress and what does it
- 1:09:38Speaker 4: look like it would in terms of the long term
- 1:09:40Speaker 4: effect of this Two reasons I ask. One, it does
- 1:09:43Speaker 4: not seem like, even with Iran's latest proposal, that they're
- 1:09:46Speaker 4: being very serious about the situation, and we do have
- 1:09:50Speaker 4: pending midterms that I don't think Trump wants to create
- 1:09:55Speaker 4: long term havoc for those efforts because of this conflict.
- 1:09:59Speaker 4: Can we chew gun come and walk at the same
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: time with Iran? I guess is what I'm asking.
- 1:10:03Speaker 14: Well, it's always an honor to be with you, Kevin
- 1:10:04Speaker 14: and your listeners. Thank you for having me on. I
- 1:10:07Speaker 14: think the short answer is yes, And just stepping back,
- 1:10:09Speaker 14: where are we so? Operation Epic Fury began February twenty eighth.
- 1:10:14Speaker 14: You know, it has achieved all of its military objectives.
- 1:10:16Speaker 14: As the President outlined, we do have the strait in
- 1:10:20Speaker 14: its current condition. That is something that the planners have
- 1:10:22Speaker 14: known about.
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: Even before the operation was launched.
- 1:10:24Speaker 14: We knew this would be Iran's only lifeline basically, so
- 1:10:28Speaker 14: they're using it to hold the world hostage effectively and
- 1:10:31Speaker 14: to try to prevent us from holding them accountable and
- 1:10:34Speaker 14: getting the results that we need out of this. And
- 1:10:37Speaker 14: what we need ultimately is an end state in which
- 1:10:39Speaker 14: Iran gives up forever its nuclear ambitions and which and
- 1:10:44Speaker 14: by default as well, stops being a threat to the
- 1:10:47Speaker 14: American people. And so again we've gotten a lot of
- 1:10:49Speaker 14: the way there as far as degrading Iran's military capabilities,
- 1:10:52Speaker 14: that was the objective of Epic Fury that we had
- 1:10:55Speaker 14: as well Project freedom, securing the freedom of navigation, and
- 1:10:58Speaker 14: the blockade, which, as let's say now, is you know,
- 1:11:02Speaker 14: Iran is several weeks away or potentially several months depending
- 1:11:05Speaker 14: on which estimate you look at, away from collapse. This
- 1:11:08Speaker 14: is having a tangible effect on hurting the regarding regime directly,
- 1:11:13Speaker 14: which which is important for us because this is what
- 1:11:16Speaker 14: will affect their decision making, their intent to change their course,
- 1:11:19Speaker 14: which of course today they aren't doing. The proposal they
- 1:11:23Speaker 14: sent back over the weekend of the President, as he said,
- 1:11:26Speaker 14: was insufficient.
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: Again, they want to.
- 1:11:28Speaker 14: Retain that nuclear weapon ability. They want to you know,
- 1:11:32Speaker 14: continue to flot harm. But the other piece of this
- 1:11:35Speaker 14: too is that we've gotten the regime where we want
- 1:11:37Speaker 14: them at the moment, and that is in a state
- 1:11:38Speaker 14: of chaos for their planning purposes. So how does this
- 1:11:41Speaker 14: all continue?
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: Where does this all go.
- 1:11:43Speaker 14: You mentioned the midterms as well, and for our listeners
- 1:11:46Speaker 14: it's important as well. Look, you know that the price
- 1:11:48Speaker 14: goes up and down of energy. It isn't the highest
- 1:11:52Speaker 14: it's been historically. I mean during the Biden years when
- 1:11:55Speaker 14: Russian in Vada, Ukraine, that was one of the record
- 1:11:57Speaker 14: prices for energy. We're not there.
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: We don't think we will be there.
- 1:12:01Speaker 14: And I think the context matters too, because we can
- 1:12:03Speaker 14: go into the midterm saying that we are making the
- 1:12:06Speaker 14: reason for the instability and prices much more, much more stable.
- 1:12:11Speaker 4: Republicans won't be successful without a broad coalition. They've got
- 1:12:14Speaker 4: to have independence, they've got to have some pretty sane
- 1:12:17Speaker 4: minded Democrats join their efforts in the states that they
- 1:12:21Speaker 4: did well in in twenty twenty four to not just
- 1:12:25Speaker 4: not lose the House, but hopefully maybe pick up a
- 1:12:28Speaker 4: couple of seats. These redistricting wins are happening, but I
- 1:12:31Speaker 4: am concerned that this drift path, that this conflict drifts
- 1:12:35Speaker 4: very far past, you know, Memorial Day, July fourth. I
- 1:12:38Speaker 4: think we're starting to look into some real issues there
- 1:12:41Speaker 4: and I just hope that we are able to you know,
- 1:12:45Speaker 4: put a button on it before then and come home.
- 1:12:47Speaker 14: Well, elections is not my expertise, but I mean, I
- 1:12:50Speaker 14: think stepping back, look, we are we have a lot
- 1:12:52Speaker 14: of wins here to talk about. And the conflict you mentioned,
- 1:12:55Speaker 14: I mean we've been We've been this.
- 1:12:59Speaker 4: Ron has tries to a complicate in eighty days that
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: they've been doing for frect seven years. So I exactly
- 1:13:04Speaker 4: understand the ab comparison.
- 1:13:06Speaker 14: There, right, I mean the state of conflict, so you
- 1:13:08Speaker 14: know we're ending that. But I think more practically, speaking
- 1:13:10Speaker 14: to your point, we are also building a coalition out there.
- 1:13:12Speaker 14: We have also partners of ours that are working together,
- 1:13:15Speaker 14: even independent of us, to ensure their defense. That's something
- 1:13:18Speaker 14: that hadn't happened before. It's because of the Abraham Accords.
- 1:13:20Speaker 14: You have, for example, Israel the UAE partnering for one
- 1:13:23Speaker 14: another's defense. That's incredible. That means less US presence in
- 1:13:27Speaker 14: the region. That means we're giving to our allies and
- 1:13:29Speaker 14: partners the ability to take ownership over their regions.
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: It's something we've wanted.
- 1:13:32Speaker 14: So the President's campaigned on and I think, look, there's
- 1:13:35Speaker 14: a bit of volatility, sure, but I think as far
- 1:13:38Speaker 14: as foreign policies at large, you also have the Russia
- 1:13:40Speaker 14: ceasefire that was announced, and my view that is a
- 1:13:42Speaker 14: downstream effect of an effective Iran strategy here, and so
- 1:13:46Speaker 14: things are coming together. These are all complex, really conflicts
- 1:13:50Speaker 14: around the world that we are putting to an end.
- 1:13:52Speaker 14: But I think there is, to your point, a narrative
- 1:13:55Speaker 14: that we need to be talking about to the American
- 1:13:57Speaker 14: public and explaining exactly this course that we're on that
- 1:14:00Speaker 14: that is just so important and so effective.
- 1:14:03Speaker 4: Well, and I think that the long term good that
- 1:14:05Speaker 4: can come of this if if we don't chintz out
- 1:14:08Speaker 4: at the end. And that's that's really the problem. Trump
- 1:14:10Speaker 4: has to be strong and we have to win, and
- 1:14:13Speaker 4: just like my colleague Hugh Hewett has been writing about recently,
- 1:14:16Speaker 4: there is no other option. It has to be a
- 1:14:17Speaker 4: decisive victory and those people cannot be left in charge.
- 1:14:21Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:14:21Speaker 14: Well, if anything we've seen over the last two months
- 1:14:24Speaker 14: is how poorly the Irinon regime has misread this president.
- 1:14:27Speaker 14: I mean, if there's one issue he's been consistent on
- 1:14:29Speaker 14: since the eighties as a civilian, it's the tariff's issue
- 1:14:32Speaker 14: in trade and it's Iran and he's acting on his word,
- 1:14:35Speaker 14: and you know, thank God for that. I mean, we
- 1:14:37Speaker 14: have a president with impeccable instincts, a brilliant president, and
- 1:14:40Speaker 14: I think, look, he's going to see this job completed
- 1:14:43Speaker 14: as he sees it in a way that the American
- 1:14:45Speaker 14: people are safer, that their economy, their well being is
- 1:14:47Speaker 14: more stable. You know, it may not happen immediately overnight.
- 1:14:50Speaker 14: Nobody said it would, but it's happening right now, and
- 1:14:53Speaker 14: I think we'll see the fruits of that very soon.
- 1:14:56Speaker 4: I think, strange little curveball for you here at the end,
- 1:14:59Speaker 4: Trump and G. He should be meeting sometime soon. Do
- 1:15:03Speaker 4: you think it would be wise for Trump to try
- 1:15:05Speaker 4: to proffer some sort of liquid natural gas deal with
- 1:15:09Speaker 4: G and begin to peel him away from those other
- 1:15:12Speaker 4: interests that he seems to be pretty arm in arm
- 1:15:14Speaker 4: with at present.
- 1:15:15Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:15:15Speaker 14: I think, Look, going into the Trump G meeting, I mean,
- 1:15:18Speaker 14: we have tremendous leverage we've built up because of epic furity,
- 1:15:21Speaker 14: but also because of the vulnerabilities of the Strait now.
- 1:15:23Speaker 14: I mean, China is one of the biggest dependents by
- 1:15:25Speaker 14: the way under market value they've been acquiring oil through
- 1:15:28Speaker 14: the start of form movies.
- 1:15:29Speaker 4: You call that black market around.
- 1:15:30Speaker 14: Here, Yes, exactly, That's exactly what they've been doing much
- 1:15:33Speaker 14: like elsewhere, and so I think we're walking to this
- 1:15:35Speaker 14: meeting with that leverage holding the cars, as the President
- 1:15:38Speaker 14: would say. And I think his objective, as I see it,
- 1:15:40Speaker 14: with China is to get that deal, that arrangement that
- 1:15:45Speaker 14: supports the American people from which the American people are
- 1:15:47Speaker 14: not under threat by the People's Republic of China, and
- 1:15:52Speaker 14: I think probably the most favorable conditions he's walking into
- 1:15:55Speaker 14: this meeting.
- 1:15:55Speaker 4: Well, I hope that he not only gets the commitment
- 1:15:57Speaker 4: that they'll, you know, play nice with us, but if
- 1:16:01Speaker 4: we could develop at least one economic mutual interest with them,
- 1:16:04Speaker 4: I think that does a little bit to drive a
- 1:16:06Speaker 4: wedge between them and Russia, yes, and some of the
- 1:16:09Speaker 4: other nefarious partners that they worked with. I don't think
- 1:16:11Speaker 4: China's ever going to be like super chummy chummy with us,
- 1:16:14Speaker 4: but anything we can do to peel them away from
- 1:16:16Speaker 4: the other guys, I think is a good thing, and
- 1:16:17Speaker 4: I'm hoping he does. We'll see Saria where he goes
- 1:16:20Speaker 4: with that. Jacob Olidor always appreciate all that you're doing
- 1:16:22Speaker 4: with the American First Policy Institute. Thank you so much
- 1:16:25Speaker 4: for being with us.
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: Grateful to be with you.
- 1:16:26Speaker 4: Kevin got it, Kevin mckella coming right back from New York.
- 1:16:29Speaker 4: Don't go away.
- 1:16:31Speaker 11: Let's stick around for more of at Kevin Next.
- 1:16:44Speaker 7: I'm serving it up because a no drink mental.
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: It's sad Kevin Show.
- 1:16:54Speaker 4: All right, final few minutes of today's broadcast. And something
- 1:16:59Speaker 4: happened last night that was kind of interesting. And I
- 1:17:01Speaker 4: teased this earlier in the show, but I wanted, I
- 1:17:03Speaker 4: really wanted to make a statement about it because I
- 1:17:06Speaker 4: feel like it's important, you know, music, pop culture, the
- 1:17:10Speaker 4: things that people do, what they watch on TV, the
- 1:17:12Speaker 4: movies they go to, et cetera, et cetera. These things
- 1:17:14Speaker 4: are These things impact kids and families and people in
- 1:17:18Speaker 4: a huge way. And for many years, when a contestant
- 1:17:23Speaker 4: named Adam Lambert or a judge named Katy Perry or
- 1:17:27Speaker 4: some other people were on a show called American Idol,
- 1:17:30Speaker 4: there were oftentimes ways and places in which there were
- 1:17:36Speaker 4: you know, much less wholesome elements, kind of glamorized. And
- 1:17:44Speaker 4: so you had kids that were trying out, that were transitioning,
- 1:17:46Speaker 4: and you had other things because Katy Perry had a
- 1:17:49Speaker 4: soft spot for some and there were there were other
- 1:17:51Speaker 4: things that were you know, on this big primetime show,
- 1:17:54Speaker 4: big ratings, big gainer for ABC, that's why they air it.
- 1:18:00Speaker 4: And it was one of those shows where you just
- 1:18:04Speaker 4: had a lot of influences and with music, with rock music,
- 1:18:08Speaker 4: with pop music, with rap, with other things. There's always
- 1:18:11Speaker 4: kind of an inclination that if you're going to have
- 1:18:14Speaker 4: the most popular thing on TV, you're gonna have to
- 1:18:17Speaker 4: go with the most popular song, which, sadly, the music
- 1:18:21Speaker 4: industry has continually gotten more and more kind of repugnant
- 1:18:24Speaker 4: in terms of its vulgarity and its illicitness. And I
- 1:18:28Speaker 4: have not watched the American Idol show in a few years,
- 1:18:31Speaker 4: but my daughter is getting to the age now where
- 1:18:33Speaker 4: she's interested in the performing arts. She's been in ten musicals.
- 1:18:36Speaker 4: She has I think nearly perfect pitch, and being a
- 1:18:40Speaker 4: musician myself, I'm always a fan of watching musicians do well,
- 1:18:43Speaker 4: and so we watched the entire season this year. We
- 1:18:45Speaker 4: watched it from the very first rounds of the auditions
- 1:18:48Speaker 4: all the way through the finale last night, and last night,
- 1:18:50Speaker 4: I think for the first time in the history of
- 1:18:52Speaker 4: American Idol, you had three confessing Christians that competed for
- 1:18:58Speaker 4: the top spot in the final episode, and in fact,
- 1:19:03Speaker 4: the winner and the runner up both regularly still lead
- 1:19:07Speaker 4: worship and are involved in service to their local church
- 1:19:11Speaker 4: by way of their musical ability. And for all three
- 1:19:15Speaker 4: of them last night, which they did, all three of
- 1:19:18Speaker 4: them sang songs of worship in their final songs of contest,
- 1:19:23Speaker 4: and then after the winner one which I won't spoil
- 1:19:26Speaker 4: it if you didn't watch it, but after the Winter one,
- 1:19:28Speaker 4: the winner also sang another Christian song, this one written
- 1:19:32Speaker 4: by Chris Tomlin. And it was just an amazing night
- 1:19:37Speaker 4: for the gospel on the most centric pop culture thing
- 1:19:42Speaker 4: on TV last night, for millions of households to watch
- 1:19:45Speaker 4: and to have participated in. And these three people kind
- 1:19:49Speaker 4: of wore their faith very strongly. Hannah Harper and Jordan
- 1:19:55Speaker 4: McCullough no relation, wore their faith very strongly throughout the
- 1:19:59Speaker 4: entire season. And so I just, you know, I've been
- 1:20:05Speaker 4: critical of different things in pop culture for a long time.
- 1:20:09Speaker 4: For ABC to allow the voters to make this decision
- 1:20:14Speaker 4: and to put them all on and to do it
- 1:20:15Speaker 4: fairly and to let one of them win, I felt
- 1:20:18Speaker 4: like was a very positive thing for America. I felt
- 1:20:21Speaker 4: it was a very positive thing for the show American Idol,
- 1:20:24Speaker 4: and I think it's a very positive thing for Christians
- 1:20:27Speaker 4: and how well you're doing in music in the culture today.
- 1:20:31Speaker 4: We need Christian musicians to sing the truth of the
- 1:20:36Speaker 4: Gospel and the ability of Jesus to change lives like
- 1:20:39Speaker 4: we've never needed it before. And so I was kind
- 1:20:42Speaker 4: of touched, dare I say, even brought to tears a
- 1:20:45Speaker 4: little bit to see how so boldly. And Carrie Underwood
- 1:20:49Speaker 4: is a believer and she's on the judges panel, and
- 1:20:51Speaker 4: she spoke very articulately about this with Hannah Harper. She said,
- 1:20:54Speaker 4: you know, you started out with an original song about God.
- 1:20:57Speaker 4: You ended tonight with the last song that she participated
- 1:21:00Speaker 4: in competition with with an original song about God. And
- 1:21:03Speaker 4: I just, I don't know, it was a good thing.
- 1:21:05Speaker 4: And I just I want to say, way to go
- 1:21:07Speaker 4: American Idol. Way to go America for voting them through
- 1:21:10Speaker 4: and for last night to be something that really, I
- 1:21:12Speaker 4: don't know, I was proud of. I was proud of
- 1:21:14Speaker 4: the Gospel, I was proud of the church last night.
- 1:21:16Speaker 4: I just wanted to say it. Kevin McCollough, we will
- 1:21:18Speaker 4: see you next time.
