Transcript
- DadBodSportsCards: Welcome to the Dad Bod Sports Card Podcast. We are here for the week two NFL picks. the agenda that's kind of gonna go, we'll we'll talk about a little bit about notes from the first week. then we'll go over the standings from the first week, and then we will get into our week two picks. We will not go for two hours, I promise you. if we have to, I already told these guys if I go on a fucking Ben Johnson blowfest to like, hey, bring me back into the show. That way we don't I'm not ranting about how awesome the greatest coach of NFL history is Ben Johnson. All right. So week one is in the books. let's let's go over some notes. So we'll we'll start off with Aaron. Do you got any notes from week one, Aaron? That from from the football that happened? Aaron: sucks I didn't wasn't able to really watch it all or really any of it. But Damn, the Bears. Wow. Scoring near sixty. That's that's crazy. Like Maybe it was just because the Panthers defense isn't that good, but I would have never expected that. I don't think that would've Yeah. Like they said DadBodSportsCards: No, I don't think I don't think anybody did. Except for except for me, 'cause I said they would score fifty two. Aaron: Yeah. Even then they almost scored sixty, so that FlintTown: Thank you. Aaron: was crazy in the s another thing, Steelers the defense looks like it's back. I think I saw we ran a hundred percent zone coverage, which is like kinda crazy 'cause recently been running a lot of man, but Steelers defense, it looks sharp. I know we played Cooper Rush, but it still looks good. And JPJ, DadBodSportsCards: Cooper rush. Aaron: Joy Porter Jr. I keep on seeing so many people be like, we wanna trade him. No, we gotta keep him. No, he's DadBodSportsCards: Trade him. Trade him to the Bears. FlintTown: I love Aaron: so good. I want us to keep him. He's really good. FlintTown: I was actually going to mention that to you because the Lions actually reached out, the rumor is. Aaron: We gotta keep FlintTown: And what does it take Aaron to get him off your team? What would you be? Aaron: Well, my opinion, he's a fringe top five corner. He's FlintTown: Yeah. Aaron: up there. So more than Sauce Gardner. You s okay, here he yeah. Okay. DadBodSportsCards: Third round third round pick. Third round pick. Wha how what did Sauce go for? Aaron: Two first rounds. FlintTown: two firsts. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. And like what what's sauce doing now? FlintTown: Nothing. Exactly. DadBodSportsCards: Nothing. Well, that's what I'm saying. Like, no one's gonna waste two first round picks because it's not guaranteed. What what did Jalen Ramsey go for when he got traded? Like when he was in his prime. FlintTown: like a third I think. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, I think it's gonna be more like a like a Ramsey comp. FlintTown: Would you take if the Lions offered a second and third round? DadBodSportsCards: I would jump on that. You guys aren't gonna pay him. That's why he's holding out. FlintTown: Exactly. Aaron: We'll see. DadBodSportsCards: Get rid of the fandom. Get rid of the fandom and think Aaron: Who see? Who's he? DadBodSportsCards: But you guys aren't paying him, so he's gonna continue to hold out with his back issue. Yeah. I don't think it's gonna I don't you're not gonna get a first for him. You'll get a first me, the Bears won't give up a first. And the Bears have a bad at like their defense sucks. So like even them, they won't give up a first. They might give up a third. I think it's gonna be a Ramsey comp from when Ramsey got traded. a few years ago when he was in his prime and everything. What went he went down to what, the Dolphins or was it when the Rams yeah, Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: yeah, yeah, that's right. So I think whatever that whatever that draft compensation was, I think it'll be pretty similar. FlintTown: So I got one thing to say about the games last week. You guys ready? All right. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, I'm ready. FlintTown: This is to the Browns fans. You need to stand up against your organization. Cut Deshaun Watson, because that dude is ass. And you need to let Shador. And if your ownership does not agree with that, you need to like. paper bags over your heads and have them sell the team because it is literally a dumpster fire. That organization. Stop going to the games. Exactly. DadBodSportsCards: stop stop going to the games. Like that's how that's how yeah, stop going to the games. Cause like, I mean that that money anyways, like I mean, they're gonna make their money because they're part of the NFL partnership, everything with all the owners. So they're gonna they're gonna make money regardless. But but it would be an embarrassment if you stopped going to the games. Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: Why that why they're doing this whole Joshawn Watson thing, I mean, they forked up two hundred and thirty million dollars. Like it was all guaranteed. So FlintTown: Yeah, cut them. Cut them. DadBodSportsCards: Well, I I understand it, but maybe they're giving him a couple games just to see if they can get any kind of investment. And then if like if they go and three and and four, then they're gonna go Shador and everything. Honestly, they're probably doing this on purpose because they want to try to get Arch Manning next year. But the problem with the whole Arch Manning thing is I don't th he's not gonna wanna play for Cleveland. Aaron: Mm mm. DadBodSportsCards: And he might not even come out next year. Like he still has FlintTown: He's the Manning family and you know what happens when a team tries to sign you. They won't allow it. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, exactly. FlintTown: especially with the browns. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. You got you guys got any el anything else from week one? Like Aaron, you got anything else? Aaron: Nope. DadBodSportsCards: No? Flint, you you got anything else? Alright. FlintTown: Nope, that's all I wanted to get off my chest. DadBodSportsCards: So I took I took some notes as as I was watching some of the games. And I didn't take a lot of notes, but there's some things. the Rams won't be as good as we thought. Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: They're not. So this whole FlintTown: I agree. DadBodSportsCards: like Aaron's saying they have to go undefeated. I mean they don't have to go undefeated, but they They did not look good. And it could be because of the jet lag and then the way they traveled. They made that mistake. But now you got Miles Garrett that just had surgery. So he's out at least four weeks. FlintTown: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Stafford didn't look good, but again, it could just be because the whole jet lag, the Australia thing, and then I mean the Forty Niners defense looked good. They Bosa back. They got Fred Warner back. They got Greenlaw back. So that looked like a totally different defense than it did last year with all those guys back healthy and everything. So Forty Niners Like in in in my notes I put forty nine forty niners defense looks better. So as long as those guys can stay healthy, all those guys like are injury prone or I mean which is which is okay because how hard they play, right? But they they gotta stay healthy for the forty niners to be to keep to keep up with Seattle net defense. I'm gonna be on record here now, like Chargers and Justin Herbert. They're average. Like, they're not bad, but they're not good. They're always just gonna be like if we still had the sixteen FlintTown: mediocre. DadBodSportsCards: yeah, if they always if we went back like sixteen games, they'll be eight and eight every year. Like that's just that's just who they are. And now I love Jim Harbaugh and everything, but Justin Herbert ain't it. Like they should have beat Arizona. I'm not saying they should have destroyed them, but they should at least they FlintTown: No, at least DadBodSportsCards: should at least competed in that game. Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: And I I'm just gonna I'm tired of it. Like in that division, we saw the Chiefs play last night. They look good with Patrick Mahomes back. Broncos look bad. and then you got well, who else is in that division? The Raiders. I mean, the Raiders aren't gonna compete either. But I think that's that's the Chiefs division. Maybe the Broncos can get shit, you know, together. I don't see the Chargers. I don't. They don't I they don't really have a true number one wide receiver, and they don't really have a true number one running back either. Hampton's not a true. number one running back, I don't think. Like at least they're not playing him like one. So I think Chargers and Herbert, they're just average. And that's okay. That's just who they are. Like I'm I'm gonna try to sell all my Herbert cards because I don't I don't think they're gonna make a run at all. So I might just dump off and and all that. I haven't seen their schedule, no. Aaron: Seen their schedule? It's it's brutal. To like week ten, they play like the top teams. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Yeah. I mean like and they should have got on the off the right foot against the Cardinals, but they didn't. other notes, other notes is everybody's been seeing if you're following football, you're seeing everything about Caleb and the Bears. And now everybody's fighting. Now everybody's fighting PFF because PFF Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: put Caleb at this the number twentieth quarterback this week. Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: You got players like Carson Wentz above him. You got players like Kenny Pickett above him on that list. So everybody's fighting. FlintTown: What? Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Everybody's fighting PFF to the point where PFF put out a statement on how they grade these players and they went into detail about Caleb and everything. So no one's gonna respect PFF anymore, especially it's just an eye test. Like you could have stats and analytics and all that, but you also gotta have the eye test and all that. So, but my notes is the Bears will be the villains of the NFL, and that's okay. Everybody hated the Kansas City Chiefs for a long time because they kept winning. But I think people are gonna hate the Bears because there's so much national attention on Caleb and Ben Johnson. And then the things that Ben Johnson says, like he wants to be the highest scoring team. They want to win multiple Super Bowls. All the things that coaches normally don't say, but they feel, Ben Johnson puts it out there. And he they don't mind. FlintTown: He put me at target. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, they put the target and they welcome that target. So Everything he does, like I said, like in the another podcast, NFC North Unfiltered, he does it for a reason. And the whole Bears team is bought in. Like on that one running play that Dan Orlovsky today broke down on NFO Live when Manungai ran for 60 yard touchdown. He showed how the everybody on that team is dialed in, kind of looking like the Lions a couple of years ago, like the way they block. Like everybody was blocking. And it's it's a team, it's a team concept, a team game. So the Bears are gonna be the villains of the NFO. I mean, that's that's pretty much and always like fucking fuck Green Bay. They got their ass beat by the Vikings Aaron: Mm-hmm. Yep. DadBodSportsCards: in the fourth quarter. They blew another fourth quarter lead. They had a huge meltdown. I mean, epic meltdown, just like what they did against the Bears in the playoffs last year. Something's going on. And we all know that Josh Jacobs paid off his ex girlfriend because today her attorneys have asked the judge to keep all evidence and everything sealed. They don't want anything released. So it probably means Jacobs and the Packers probably paid that girl off in order for her to have her attorneys do that because she doesn't want any of that information or the videos to come out in public. So hopefully but what? FlintTown: But doesn't the NFL, the NFL can Aaron: Mm-mm. FlintTown: suspend them too. Aaron: Boom, yeah. DadBodSportsCards: The NFL, so because of their players agreement, FlintTown: Because the Ray race. DadBodSportsCards: it's at least six game suspension for domestic violence. So even if he's found not guilty, which they haven't even determined yet, even if he is not guilty, the NFL can still give him a six game suspension and up. So it's at least six games. Now, him being on the commissioner's exempt list, that can that can be as time served once they make their decision too, while he's waiting. Because that's the main reason why they put him on the list. Because let's say the NFL, let's say he but cuts a deal, case gets thrown out or whatever for whatever reason. The NFL's like, okay, we'll give you six games, but you've already set out week one. So really you got five games left and everything. But it just determin it just depends on how much what they're gonna negotiate. It's pretty much at the end of the day is what they're gonna negotiate. And Green Bay needs him back in a hurry and Mike Parson FlintTown: Yeah, they do. DadBodSportsCards: because LaFleur might be gone mid season if they keep if they're at this rate. FlintTown: Losing. Yep. DadBodSportsCards: Yep. just real quick, just just a side note. I what I started doing with my picks on DraftKings, I will put a dollar for every game and then I'll put a dollar on the sixteen game parlay. And I'm gonna keep track and then if I do well this season, I mean it's gonna be a low number, right? If I if I have any kind of winnings and you'll see like my week one results, that that then maybe next year I might do ten dollars a game. So like so this week I spent like $17. It was 16 games and then the parlay for all for all 16 games. So that was 17. So after calculating everything, like because I won eleven and five, and we'll get to the standings in a second. I won an eleven and five. So $17 is what I spent. And my winnings was $17.8. So eight cents. Aaron: Mm. FlintTown: 8 cents! DadBodSportsCards: Only only five and this is just going straight up like you know, because like some games like the I think the Bears were like min my FlintTown: Yep, over-unders. DadBodSportsCards: yeah, like the the Bears were like minus one hundred. So if I bet a dollar, I'm only gonna get like eighty cents, right? But I'm just doing FlintTown: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: this to kind of test it out to see where it but eight cents, that's eight cents. You do eight cents times seventeen game season, you know, what that's at least over a dollar a dollar. Right. So I'm hoping FlintTown: Looking at a dollar. Aaron: Mm. DadBodSportsCards: to hit on one of the parlays. But I want to test to see if I come out ahead. And see what that percentage is. And then maybe next year I might switch it to $10 a game. And then, you know, that'll be $160 a week and everything. And then we'll see what what that is. It's just kind of an experiment because I really don't gamble a lot of money. I I keep I only keep pretty much only $20 my DraftKings account to prevent me from gambling a lot of money. And I just like I want to raise it up from that 20 bucks. All right. So let's go into last week's standings. we will start with the third place team is Flinttown Sports Cards, who went eight and eight in the games last week. And then we had Aaron at nine and seven, and then we had myself at eleven and five. So this week this week, based on some of the some of the the matchups, I think you guys might come back on me because I kinda kinda went a little bold on some of the some of these picks on the on the match week yeah. do you did too? All right. Aaron: So did I. yeah. DadBodSportsCards: So let's let's jump you guys any other notes? We good to go to nope, no notes. FlintTown: No, DadBodSportsCards: Okay. FlintTown: nope. DadBodSportsCards: So let's go straight into week two. the the Thursday night game is gonna be the Detroit Lions at Buffalo Bills. We'll start with Aaron, then we'll go with myself, and then we'll save Flint for last since he's a Lions fan. So Aaron, who do you got? Buffalo or Detroit? Aaron: I got Buffalo. Josh Allen, his whole career's had the hump of Texans, I don't think he's ever beaten him before, until last week. DadBodSportsCards: Nope. Yep. Yep. Aaron: And he looked good. Four touchdowns. There was that dropped interception that could have sealed the game, but after that, he still drove down and they scored. And they won the game. DadBodSportsCards: I mean he's he's the best quarterback of the NFL. Like I mean, he's one Aaron: It's one of them. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: of he's one of them, correct. Yeah. Aaron: Yeah. even if Detroit intends to win this game, I still think the Buffalo Bills will win it. DadBodSportsCards: Okay. All right. So who's your player to watch? DJ Moore, right? Aaron: DJ Moore, he had an amazing game against the Texans. Five catches, a hundred yards, and a touchdown. He'd probably be able to replicate that against the Lions, who have a not as good as a defense. DadBodSportsCards: All right. Love you. Good night. Love you. Good night. Love you. You want me to say it? No, you're you're good. You don't have to say it. All right. So yeah, yeah, yeah. You said DJ Moore, and then you pick Buffalo. I'm gonna go with Buffalo as well. I think I think there's just too much offense. It there I just think they're an overall better team. Like Buffalo, home game, Thursday night short week. Detroit barely pulled out a win against the Saints at home. I don't know what happened that game. They were up twenty one nothing. We can all make whatever of observations about that game. I don't know why it was as close as it was. it sh it shouldn't have been. Well, I mean, they Aaron: Cause it's suck. DadBodSportsCards: are they are a fourth place team, right? I mean, they left from Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: last season, it's carrying over their fourth place team. I expected more out of Detroit against the Saints. I wanted them to send a message. Yes, it's week one. Yes, they don't play in the preseason and everything, but I still want them to s send a message to the league like, Hey, we're not a fourth place team. They didn't show that to me last week. So this is a great opportunity for them this week. To get back on track and just let the NFL world know, like, hey, we're still here. You know, like they could start off two and and that would be a great start, you know, considering that they almost lost against the Saints, and now they're playing against one of the best teams in the NFL. So if they if Detroit starts off two and then we can have the conversation like, okay, they're back, they're gonna be going for the division and everything. my player to watch is I'm gonna I might just say it every week, it's gonna be Jared Goff. Goff has to be the best player on this offense. We know what Gibbs is gonna do. Gibbs is gonna Gibbs is gonna get his yards. Gibbs is gonna get his touchdowns, but Jared Goff has to be the guy that is the difference maker in all these games against, especially in big games like this. This is why you pay him the big money. This is why he's your starting quarterback. And, you know, he he's got to carry the Lions over that hump and get them to their first ever Super Bowl. It's all gonna rely on Goff, right? So it's not gonna rely on Gibbs. We already know what we're gonna get from Gibbs. I said it on the NFC Unfiltered podcast that we just started. That Detroit's offense has been healthy. You've had Gibbs, you've had Amonra, you've had Goff, you had J-Mo. And they're just not winning to the point where they should be winning. And I get it, it's one season, but I'm not gonna say why, FlintTown: you DadBodSportsCards: but something has to change, right? So they have to start winning games this year with that healthy offense that they have. Their defense, we already know, like it's injury prone. they don't have a secondary and everything, but you know. Not to say like be like the Bears, like fuck the defense, just score more points and win. That's what that o and the Detroit Lions offense is capable of doing that. They just need to do it. And I this is a big week for them, I think, to to prove to themselves that hey, we can win these big games against the best teams, and then we're a top five team in the NFL, even a top ten team in the NFL. like I said, golf and I pick Buffalo. Who do you got? Well, Flint, who do you got? FlintTown: I also agree with you. Aaron: Okay. FlintTown: It is a prove it game. This is absolutely prove it game. I know we were talking about the yesterday about the unfiltered NFC unfiltered and I brought up Kirby, Joseph and Brian branch and when we had them safeties in 2024, I know that's two years ago, but Kirby was hurt last year, all year. He was first team all pro in 2024 and Brian branch right now from executives and scouts is rated fourth in the whole NFL. So missing them two guys on your defense, especially them guys are in the backfield watching, Aaron: Mm-hmm. FlintTown: helping the corners, right? DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, yeah. FlintTown: So that is the huge loss of our defense and who knows if Kirby will ever come back because it's a degenerate knee issue DadBodSportsCards: Okay. FlintTown: and there's no fixing it. So DadBodSportsCards: Mm-hmm. FlintTown: it's we like it's whenever he feels good. With all that being said, the player to watch, I would say it's not just the player. It's the offensive line and the defensive line. for Detroit. If the defense can get to Josh Allen at a fast pace like they did Jamar Jack Lamar Jackson that one game where we blew Aaron: Mm-hmm. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Yep. FlintTown: him out, then I can see a path of victory. But if not, he's going to tear you apart. And the offensive line, they're all like Penny, move, Penny moved to the left guard. And they all kind of shifted around and they're all new into their, you know, we got our new right tackle left tackles second year. have mismatch in the center. DadBodSportsCards: Do you guys you guys have do you guys have Sewell at guard? tackle okay, okay, okay. I was gonna say I was like okay. I was like I was like, shit. But yeah, no, I mean but he's your best he's your best offensive Lightman lineman. Yeah, yeah. FlintTown: No, left tackle. Yeah. He moved, yes, he moved from the right tackle to the left tackle. Aaron: To left. Okay. DadBodSportsCards: Left tackle, yeah. FlintTown: But with all that being said, I hate to say this, but I think Buffalo's gonna take it. And it's short week, Buffalo's really good, brand new stadium, homecoming. I think Buffalo's gonna take it. DadBodSportsCards: The short week could be to your advantage because it gets Detroit out FlintTown: It could be. DadBodSportsCards: of gets Detroit out of that mind that they almost lost against the Saints. And it's like, all right, ne next man up, neck neck next game up, right? Next FlintTown: Yep. Yeah. Yeah. Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: game, time to focus on Buffalo. It's a big task and everything. So short term memory, you know, that that could be in benefit for the Lions and everything. FlintTown: I do Vegas has it like a four points. So Vegas knows a lot, right? DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Yeah, they do. FlintTown: It's going to be a close game, but Buffalo is minus four and a half or something like that. So. DadBodSportsCards: What what bugs me is how well Buffalo played against that Texans defense. And also the history with Josh Allen and the Texans and everything. Aaron: Yeah, yeah. Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: Like he could he couldn't beat them. But like, but that's what scares me because your defense is nowhere near what the Texans FlintTown: I DadBodSportsCards: is. And if Buffalo's offense is that good like what they showed last week, I mean they put up 36 points. That's a lot of points on that defense. And again, FlintTown: Yeah. Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: week one, you know, coming off, coming off the offseason, that could all play a factor. I'm excited Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: about this game. It's I think it's a good Thursday night game. and everything. So I'm I'm excited about this game. Personally I would love to see Detroit lose 'cause that'll be that means there'll be one and one. But I mean, Detroit's offense can keep up with Buffalo if this becomes a shootout and everything. FlintTown: Hutch was on the radio this week and he said they've been having this game circled for a long time because they haven't won against Buffalo. So I mean it could go, you know, it could go but I DadBodSportsCards: Isn't it? FlintTown: just I gotta see more to pick Lions. If I'm DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. FlintTown: gonna pick Lions I gotta see more. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Buffalo's li like I said, Buffalo's one of the best teams in the NFL. Like it's it's it's gonna be tough to beat them. And I Mm. FlintTown: Yes. And I had this one circled for a loss in the beginning of the season. So it's not like, you know what I mean? DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. And I wanna let everybody know that Flint did research on that pick. Like you see him looking at his notes, looking at Brian Branch of Kirby. And I know I I probably helped set him up for that with the with the last podcast 'cause when he brought up FlintTown: Yep. DadBodSportsCards: those names, I'm like, who the fuck are they? Like outside of Detroit, nobody knows who they are. You should, you should, you should. FlintTown: You should know though, they're like, they're one of the best in the leagues. DadBodSportsCards: So look, if if Flint if Flint can step up his research game, the Lions can step up in this game. FlintTown: Yeah, that's true. DadBodSportsCards: All right. Next game on the list. We got the Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons. who you got, Aaron? Aaron: Got Carolina. I think their ob I mean their offense I don't know what it was in the second half, you know, 'cause they slowed down. but I mean their offense look good enough. Jalen Coker obviously bought out Bryce Young. I mean he's still a good quarterback. I think he's a good quarterback. FlintTown: it too. Aaron: Falcons offense, they don't got it. Cooper Rush is not the answer. And If Cooper Rush doesn't play, it's gonna be Tua. I don't think Michael Pennings is gonna come back. And I tr I trust Cooper Rush more than I trust Tua. They're they're in QB purgatory right now. And I just think Carolina has a better chance to win the game. My player to watch is gonna be Coker. Can he replicate what he did last week? DadBodSportsCards: Yep. Pick. Coker's in a walking boot right now. He said he should be he should be fine for the game, but he isn't he is in a walking boot. Aaron: Yeah, I know. Yeah. He isn't a boob. DadBodSportsCards: how how many yards did Bijan get on the ground last week? Do you know? Okay. Aaron: I think it was eighty six and I think it was like a hundred and seventy total 'cause he had that screen touchdown. Also It was screens. It was just screens, screens, screens. We couldn't stop that. DadBodSportsCards: Okay. So you really couldn't c your defense couldn't contain Like you thought. Yeah. Yeah. Aaron: yeah. DadBodSportsCards: What else were you gonna say? You said also Aaron: Also, I don't know if I said this last episode, but I did tell you that Jalen Coker was my sleeper pick of the year, and we were already seeing that it's working out well. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, he had he had a good run late last season and in the playoffs and everything. And then Aaron: Yeah, especially the playoffs. That's that's what it was like. DadBodSportsCards: we'll we'll see what he can do because I'm not gonna say anything against the Bears defense. The Bears defense is awful. So and all that. All right, Flint. Flint, who do you got? Carolina Aaron: It is. DadBodSportsCards: or Atlanta? FlintTown: I got Carolina too. Like you said, Aaron, like Atlanta is in quarterback purgatory until Pennex comes back. And I think they're going to hold Pennex back for a couple games, at least like five, just to make sure he's legit, not injured to let him go. But Carolina did look good. And I liked Bryce. Bryce was a good quarterback. in my player to watch, Bijan. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, that that's that's a good player to watch. I'm right there with you guys. I'm with Carolina. I think Tua might come back this weekend. Tua's not gonna be like great over the course of the season. He's not even gonna be good over the course of the season. But I think he can give you one or two games in a season if he's playing. This if Carolina's defense is that bad because how the Bears tore them up, Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: Tua could have a decent game against well, we just gotta see, right? We gotta see if it's Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: just a week one thing with the Panthers defense. The Panthers spent a lot of money on their defense. Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: Carolina's got to run the ball. I don't know why they well, they couldn't get the run game start against the Bears. And it could be a mix of they felt that they needed to score every drive because the Bears were scoring every drive Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: and that they just try to pass and try to keep up by passing when they should have because Hubbard averaged four point nine yards per carry. Like he had 10 carries of 49 yards. So they should have kept it on the ground, even if it didn't work on first down, try again, you know, to keep the Bears offense off that. Atlanta's offense, they could they could they could be good. They got playmakers, right? You got London. Pitts didn't have a catch at all. you got Bichon, and then we'll we'll see who their quarterback is. But I'm right there with you guys, Carolina Panthers, and my player to watch is gonna be Bryce Young. I want to see if he can carry over that week one game to into week two and everything. All right. The next game is an NFC North game. So we got the Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears. Who you got, Aaron? Aaron: This is a tough one. I think it is a tough one. And here's why. You you're shaking your head, and I think I mean, it's just Minnesota, we all you talk about is their defense. Their defense is really good. But they scored almost 40 points last week. And the Bears, you know, they again they scored almost 60. But we don't know if that's just gonna be an outlier because of Carolina or if that's who they are. And I think we could look at it and say Vikings have a objectively better defense than Carolina. I think we can all agree on that. So Bears it could be like an like a 40 to 40 game where the Vikings offense balls out like they did last week, and the Bears offense, they ball out too because they need to. But also maybe they don't put up sixty. So I think it's gonna be They're gonna have to go in a shootout every single game. And last week I did say the Bears are gonna get three turnovers, and they did. So congrats to me. But I'm gonna pick Chicago. I have faith in Chicago. I think their defense can force again, I'm not gonna say three this time, probably say one or two turnovers. I don't know who's gonna be quarterback, Carson Wentz or Kyler Murray. Kyler Murray DadBodSportsCards: Marshal went. Aaron: did not look good in the short time that he played, but Carson Wentz did play really well. And Justin Jefferson also looks like he's back, so that's great. FlintTown: He bald. Aaron: I'm just worried if Chicago can score that you know, even if it's only forty, that many points against Minnesota's defense. my player to watch is gonna be Caleb. Minnesota, they're gonna blitz a lot. Brian Flores, as much as you want to say Ben Johnson is psychopath, Brian Flores is equally as much as a psychopath on defense. Like yes, yes, DadBodSportsCards: Eighty percent last week he blipped. Eighty percent. Aaron: he is a psychopath FlintTown: Wow! Aaron: on the defensive side. Can Caleb you know, if he sees that much blitz, is he gonna be able to perform under that pressure? I think he can, but if it's coming at him all game, he might make a mistake or two. DadBodSportsCards: All Flint, who do you FlintTown: Yeah, I I'll piggyback off that. Like Caleb getting hit quite a bit, you know, if they get to them, Caleb getting hit quite a bit and kind of getting them rattled, he could make some big mistakes. Any quarterback would, you know what I mean? That's, Aaron: Yeah, like love. FlintTown: yeah. I mean, you're hit getting hit all the time. You're going to make mistakes. That being said, like, I still think. Chicago's gonna score more than Minnesota. Aaron: Mm-hmm. FlintTown: Carson Wentz. Like he might have had a good game, but I don't think it will carry over and keep carrying Aaron: Yeah. FlintTown: over. I would say Minnesota's defense is gonna give you guys a problem, but I don't know how big a problem it's gonna give you. So I'll go with Chicago and player to watch, Carson Wentz. Let's see if he can step up again. DadBodSportsCards: All right. So there's a lot of Chicago fans out there that I've been seeing, especially our buddy Dom. They're a little bit more conservative. You know, as growing up as a Bears fan, you just talk about defense, right? You just talk about defense. That's that's Chicago is like a hard working city, a hard working Midwest city like Detroit and like Pittsburgh, like your two teams and everything. And like a lot of the football Aaron: West. DadBodSportsCards: teams you think, you know, they they mold around that city feel of hard work and and and grit and everything. And you know, when you think of offense, like people think offense, they think of flashy, right? You know, like Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: you got you got like Kurt Warner in them. Like Kurt Warner doesn't look like he's gonna fucking punch you in the mouth, right? like Tom, Tom Brady, you think of offense, and Peyton Manning, you think of offense. Those dudes aren't gonna punch you in the fucking mouth, right? And maybe even Caleb is not, you don't think Caleb's gonna punch you in the mouth, watching like fucking pink nails hitting you in the face, right? Nobody's afraid of offense, right? Everybody thinks about defense, defense, defense, especially when it comes to The his history of Chicago and grit and everything. It's time for Chicago to live in 2026, where it is gonna be offense, offense, offense. And with a head coach like Ben Johnson, you can still have that fucking tough mentality and have an offense. Right now, our defense, they're cubs. They're they're baby fucking cubs out there. They're not bears. The the Bears defense isn't gonna maul you. They're fucking little cubs and they're gonna lay in bed with you and cuddle with you because that's what cubs do, right? That's why everybody loves the Chicago Cubs because like it's the it's the friendly cub, right? The the cuddler little cub. That's what our defense is. Our defense isn't gonna hit you. They're gonna let you catch the ball, then they're gonna cuddle you down when they tackle you. All right. That's my analogy for our defense. Now, let's go to Minnesota. I'm not afraid of Minnesota's offense at all. You can say Justin Jefferson's back and have at it. Green Bay's defense is fucking awful without Micah Parsons. Right? Aaron: Yeah that yeah. FlintTown: Yes. DadBodSportsCards: So we could say, like, hey, Minnesota scored 39 points. They scored 22 in the fourth quarter, right? It they got the majority of their points in the fourth quarter because of the meltdown that the Green Bay Packers have. And finally the 80% of the blitzes was getting to love and they didn't know what to fucking do. The Packers couldn't run the ball. Christian What Christian Watson had a great game. against them. Aaron: Mm. DadBodSportsCards: like, FlintTown: It is. DadBodSportsCards: because you're gonna have open receivers when you're blitzing that many times, right? And the Packers took advantage of that in like the beginning and then the middle of the game, they just choked at the end, like what they've been known to do. That was the Packers' six straight loss. So Minn Minnesota capitalized on that. When they scored a ton of points, they had great field position. One of the best things about Caleb is he doesn't throw interceptions. He doesn't Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: fumble the ball. He's very low on turning the ball over. and and he's shown that in his career. He's been sacked 68 times in a season. I think he only had seven interceptions that season. He's not, he's not careless with the football. no matter and he wasn't careless last year either with how aggressive, Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: how aggressive the Bears' offense is. I I didn't want to say that the Bears would score 50 points because everything's telling me like because of the Minnesota defense, by me listening to everybody and everybody having a ton of respect. For that Minnesota defense and the way they played us last year, nothing is saying that the Bears are gonna s even score 30 points, right? And but I'm gonna say, fuck it. We're gonna put up another 50 points. And the reason why I'm saying we're gonna put up 50 points is because that's what Ben Johnson wants to do. He wants to show, because everybody's talking about how great Minnesota's defense is, he's gonna wanna show the league that week one wasn't a fucking fluke. That it wasn't just week one of the NFL season. All the other teams, all how many teams are there? 32. 31 other teams played in week one. Nobody else scored 50 points last week. The Bears put up 59. They almost had 60. And that they had 12 penalties, like for like 80 yards. We also fumbled the first possession. We had a couple three and outs. So like we didn't play perfect at all in week one and we got 59 points. Minnesota's defense is a lot better than Carolina. But I think Carolina's offense is better than Minnesota's. We're gonna get turnovers away from Carson Wentz. Like Carson Wentz, this isn't fucking Tom Brady or or the Broncos asking Drew Brees to come back for their fucking Super Bowl run and everything when Bo Knicks got hurt, right? This is Carson fucking Wentz. He's a nobody, right? The only reason why he's the backup quarterback is because their third string is fucking the nine, JJ McCarthy, who's fucking trash, right? He he need he needed FlintTown: in. DadBodSportsCards: that extra second in Michigan. To develop a little bit more into a better quarterback. He should have stayed, right? Instead of going for the draft. But the Bears are going to put up 50. My player to watch is going to be Colson Loveland. He didn't do shit last week, fantasy wise, right? He he did his he did his job on the blocks and everything else. But now Ben Johnson's gonna show all right, this is what's gonna we're gonna score 50, and this time Loveland's gonna be involved and we're gonna get him the ball. The Bears are bought in, and it's all only the week first week of the season. The way they played against Carolina and how they dominated the line of scrimmage that running game, swe we had two running backs over a hundred yards. That's not Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: going to happen every week. But we also had Caleb who ran for 60 something yards. Like if we keep that combination going, what we're not going to lose. Like we're not going Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: to lose against a team like Minnesota because Minnesota's not going to be able to keep up in a shootout with us. Justin Jefferson might have three touchdowns and 300 yards receiving this game, but they're still only going to score like 20 something points. So I will pick the Bears. Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: My player to watch is Colson Loveland. 50 points again. Let's see if I can nail it this time. Let's say they get, let's say they get fifty fifty-five points. Let's say they'll get fifty-five points this weekend. Because Ben Johnson wants approved to the NFL and to all the fans, like, hey, last week wasn't a fluke. He means it when they want to get the the scoring title from the 2013 Broncos. All right. Next game. I try to keep I try to keep it short on the Bears and Ben Johnson. But I'm really excited about this game because I wanna I wanna see what we could do with against that defense. And that way I can point my fingers and in our group chat, you guys will never hear the end of it if we put up over fifty points against Minnesota. All right, next game is I mean, the next game should be an easy pick. We got the Philadelphia Eagles at Tennessee Titans. Who you got, Aaron? Yep. Aaron: Philly I didn't see the game against the commanders. it was close. I don't know why. I don't think commanders are good, so if that if commanders aren't good, and Philly was a close game. I guess the division game in week one. I still have Philly. Cam Moore did not look good. I don't know if y'all saw that one play. He stepped back and then ran straight into the defensive line. Like, he does not look good out there. so yeah, I got Philly. I don't even I guess Devonta Smith is my player to watch, or Jalen Hurts. You know, because we know Saquon's proven. Like he didn't have that good of a le year last year, but we know Sa who Saquon is. It's just we gotta focus on the passing game for the Eagles, if they can go back to what they used to be. DadBodSportsCards: Okay. Who do you got, Flint? FlintTown: Also got Philly and the passing game I watched the highlights of the game and the passing game looked great like it Aaron: Did it? DadBodSportsCards: It did. Yeah. FlintTown: it looked really good and they let Jaylen play his game and That's all I said last time I said let Aaron: Mm-hmm. FlintTown: him play his game. He will succeed and They did and I'm telling you I was like super impressed. I think they're going to be really good. But, Devante Wicks. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, that's Aaron: Don Tavion Wix. FlintTown: They're a Dontazian one. Yeah. The rookie. The rookie, right? DadBodSportsCards: that Tavia. Same thing. No, he's a fucking former packer. Fuck that guy. Aaron: Or do you mean Mikhailman who had three catches for negative five yards? DadBodSportsCards: No, he me he means he means Wicks. I I know yeah, Wicks. He's a former Packer. Yeah. Wick Wick FlintTown: Wix. Wix tore it up. He tore it up. DadBodSportsCards: Wix stepped up last week because I thought it was going to be Mikhail Lemon is stepping it up, but it was actually Wicks. Yeah. Yep. Wick FlintTown: That's what I was thinking, but. DadBodSportsCards: Wick Wicks stepped it up. I'm gonna go, I'm gonna go with the Eagles as well. My player to watch is gonna be Saquon. I'm gonna counter Aaron a little bit. Like I think Flint already touched on it. The passing game for Philly looked good. Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: the reason why that game was close against the commanders, they couldn't run the ball. Their offense Aaron: really? DadBodSportsCards: their offensive line is still a little fucked up. Like they're ever since Jason Kelsey left, like that offensive line hasn't been the same. And like they were old, they were an older offensive line already when he was the he Aaron: Mm-hmm. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: was there during their Super Bowl run. But what's his name? Is it Lane Dickerson? Is that his name? The offense Aaron: Landed. DadBodSportsCards: Landon Dickerson. He's he's on he's on IR now. So they Aaron: Mm. DadBodSportsCards: don't know how long he's gonna be out. So he's might still be their best lineman and he's gonna be he's gonna be out for four weeks. So Philly has to run the ball. That's why Saquon is my player to watch. They have to run the ball. The passing game looked good and was good enough to get them past the commanders. But if but Philly's bread and butter is they have to run the ball. Hertz has to scramble. Like that team is hard to beat if Hertz is getting Aaron: yeah. DadBodSportsCards: 60 to 80 yards a game because that's that's what he did in the past. For whatever reason, he stopped doing it. I don't know if the coaches are telling him, but he's got to go back to that, alleviate the pressure from Saquon. He needs to rush the ball. their passing game is gonna be all right. This is a good week to try to get back on track for rushing against Tennessee. Tennessee, Cam Ward is a bust. I as much as how confident I am about the Chargers just being average, I'm super confident that Cam Ward is a bust and Tennessee is just not good. I mean they I I don't know. FlintTown: I don't think Cam Ward's a bust. I just don't think that team's good. DadBodSportsCards: The the you're correct. They're they're Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: they're they're not. But I mean, but he got drafted number what? Number one, Aaron: One FlintTown: I know, but when you DadBodSportsCards: you know, you know. FlintTown: have a shit team, you're the only player like- Aaron: Woo see. It's still it's still only a second year, so Woosie. DadBodSportsCards: And it FlintTown: Yeah, DadBodSportsCards: right, and he FlintTown: I know. DadBodSportsCards: might need he might need another go to another team to show like like what we saw Aaron: Yeah, yeah. DadBodSportsCards: with Sam Darnold, but but still we don't think Sam Darnold's a top ten FlintTown: or no equal as. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, but move yeah. But they I mean they but they lost too. Yeah yeah, yeah. Well he he he he he took he took his money. He Aaron: Yeah, but Willis went to the Dolphins, that's another like the shit team. FlintTown: No, what I'm saying is the Titans drafted Malik Willis and did him dirty. Yeah. Aaron: Mm, then he went to the Packers and he looked good on Packers, yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, yeah. He well, it's coaching. It's it's it's coaching. FlintTown: So it is. Aaron: Yeah, it is coaching. It is coaching. DadBodSportsCards: It it's one hundred percent coaching. I think all of us know like whether well er maybe not as much as Aaron because he's his whole life has been fucking Tomlin. Yeah. So but at Aaron: It's Tomlin. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: for Flinton and I, we know coaching matters for our teams and everything because like we've had shitty coaches and now we've had now we have good coaches. So now we know what a difference it can make. I don't know. Like I I think Cam Ward's gonna be a bust. I don't think any anything's gonna I don't even think he's gonna have a good career. I don't want to wish that upon anybody other than Green Bay, but that's that's just how I see it. Philly, and then give me Saquon. did this sh FlintTown: I hope he ain't a bust. Aaron: Uh-huh. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. I mean, I I understand. I get it, man. I get it. Cause that that zebra now, if you're buying low, that's a good buy. That's a good buy. Aaron: Wait. DadBodSportsCards: Because if he shows any s little bit of life at quarterback, that card's gonna start going, which you've seen like with the Jackson Dark cards, Caleb William cards. What Aaron: that's DadBodSportsCards: happened last season with Drake May? It's totally opposite what's going on right now with Drake May. Drake May psh tanking Aaron: I got some words about that. DadBodSportsCards: and next game, we'll save Aaron last for FlintTown: That's it. DadBodSportsCards: this one. it's actually the it's actually the next game. Yeah. So we'll have Aaron Aaron: Hmm. Yeah, that's why that's why I said that. DadBodSportsCards: go last in that. I'll go, I'll go first, then we'll have Flint and then Aaron. So we the Pittsburgh Steelers at New England Patriots. So this game was tough. I left it blank as I was going through the list because I don't think either team was good at all. Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: Like it's almost equivalent to last week trying to pick between Tennessee Titans and the New York Jets. I just didn't know, but I thought I thought the Jets were awful, but the Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Jets at least beat the Titans. This week, Pittsburgh didn't really show anything against Atlanta. Yes, their def what what made me pick my pick is gonna be Pittsburgh. And the reason why I'm picking Pittsburgh is because I think their defense is better than New England's. I think Pittsburgh can get to Drake May. Aaron: Mm. DadBodSportsCards: And you show if you get to Drake May, I mean you still got TJ White, you got your other pass rushers. You know, you got great pass rushers. If you get to Drake May, he's not a good quarterback. Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: And like Seattle has showed that, and any other good team that they played against last year has showed that you put pressure on him. And that goes with any quarterback, but especially for fucking Drake May. And now Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: you got AJ Brown, who's on the IR, who's who's Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: your best wide receiver and your your biggest acquisition in offseason. They don't have any other wide receivers. I think. I think Pittsburgh's defense can it's gonna be, I think it's gonna be a low scoring game. New England's defense isn't bad either. And Aaron Rodgers isn't gonna really show me anything. I think New England has a better running game because Stevenson will still. I mean, he he played well last Aaron: Yeah, our run game was awful. DadBodSportsCards: he played he played great, he played well last week. New England did Stevenson. And then maybe Henderson comes back and gives him a little bit of push. But Pittsburgh's running game is awful. You got Dowdle, you got Aaron: It was awful. That was DadBodSportsCards: Dowdle and you got Warren. They are awful. So I'm gonna give the edge to this week to Pittsburgh. My player to watch is gonna be, I don't even it didn't even fucking matter. DK Metcalf, right? Because he was he was your best wide receiver last week. I think he got your most Aaron: Chop. DadBodSportsCards: tar he got he got your most targets last week. And then behind him was Roman Wilson that got the next most targets and everything, which Aaron Aaron's Aaron's fucking all cock hungry for a Roman Roman Wilson. Aaron: No I am not DadBodSportsCards: But give me Pittsburgh. Actually no, I'm gonna change my player to watch. My player to watch is gonna be T J Watt. I think he's gonna be able to get to New England and Drake May and then pull off the win. Pull off the win for for Pittsburgh. Who you got, Flint? Pittsburgh or New England? FlintTown: Alright, so this was hard, kind of just like what you said. It was like, man, who do I pick? I'm actually gonna go to New England in this because I don't see them dropping two games right off the bat. I think they're gonna try to clean up what they were making mistakes on. Drake May. I think he's better than what he showed, but they need to get the ball out of his hand fast. So they might be doing a lot of screens. We're going Aaron: Mm. FlintTown: to watch that film. You said they were doing a ton of screens, getting the ball out and your defense couldn't stop them. So if they're watching that film, that's probably what they're going to go towards. and just try to move that ball down. And you're right, New England's defense ain't that bad. So I do think it's going to be a low scoring game. It's just who has the ball at the end, probably what it's going to come down to. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, I want to pick up that screen thing real quick. Like if Travey on Henderson is playing, that strategy will work because he's their he's their big playmaker, right? You go you get Stevenson in the screen. I mean, he's not burning past people. Aaron: Yes. Yes. Mm mm. FlintTown: Mm-hmm. Yep. DadBodSportsCards: So that that might FlintTown: No, you're right. DadBodSportsCards: that might actually go for like the Steelers advantage if they have Stevenson out there for screens. But if Henderson's playing, that could be a good strategy to to deal with that pass rush. Yep. Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: All right, all you, Aaron. Aaron: Alright. Pittsburgh defense. Man. Like I like I watched a lot of that, like, well, not live, but I went back and I watched a lot of pieces from that game. That pass rush is amazing. And I like what our defensive coordinator is doing. He's moving the players around. TJ Watt has exclusively been, I'm pretty sure he's on the left side of the field. They moved him towards the right. He got a sack on the right. He had his pick six. Which is the first pick six of his career. And I think that that was the tenth interception of his career. Our secondary, they're fine enough. I think missing Joey Porter Jr. is you know this is obviously a hit, but Brisker looked good. He was making a lot of tackles, he had that interception. Asante Samuel Jr. is still a good cornerback. Ramsey had a nice pass break. It was an underthrow, but he had a nice pass break up against Kyle Pitts. The offense is what scares me. And the run game was horrible. I think that can be fixed. But our wide receivers need to step it up. Michael Pittman, I didn't see a whole lot of him. He had three catches. I don't know if that's just a low amount of targets. I didn't see him, you know, with any bad plays, but I did see with Roman Wilson, he had that one touchdown dropped, which could have been called pass interference. I don't think it should have been, but it could have been. And DK, he drops the ball too much. That is what just kinda like annoys me, 'cause you're paying him all this money. He drops the ball a lot. There was one pass interference again against him that wasn't called. So that you that's that's excuse from him. You know. But he needs to hold on to the football. Our wide receivers need to get better. Roman Wilson, he's open a lot of the time, which is why I kinda like him. I wanna see maybe if Jeremy Bernard can get out there. I think he only had three snaps last game. And Aaron Rodgers has still got it. Like he was making some thro he was making good throws. He threw forty times. Like that shocked me. It was just the wide receivers letting him down. Like I saw like a lot of his pass. He didn't look bad. He looked pretty good. He was still making a lot of good throws that were on the money, and especially s a couple in like in tight windows. I just need the Steelers wide receivers to play better. And it's gonna be tough against the Patriots defense. I think what it's gonna be like is gonna be like last year. Patriots had five turnovers. And the Steelers only won by seven points, so it's twenty one to fourteen. But I think the defense can force out a lot of turnovers, especially against Drake May. They're gonna get to him and he's gonna get rattled. And I don't think they have the offense, especially with A.J. Brown out, the wide receiver one is Romeo Dubbs, who can't catch. And then after that they have I don't even know. They have salesmen out there. So gimme Steelers, but you're right, it's gonna be low scoring and the offenses aren't gonna look good. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, I mean both defenses I think are gonna control this game. And Aaron: Yes. DadBodSportsCards: it's gonna go down to like I'll I'll even though Aaron Rodgers is in his forties, like he's got experience. So like I'll I'll give I'll give the quarterback to to the advantage to the Steelers too. And Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: those are two big things defense and the quarterback. Like I'm not saying the Steelers are gonna fucking blow the Patriots away. No, this is gonna be low scoring. Like just like last week with Atlanta and Pittsburgh, that's gonna be low scoring. Yep. Aaron: Yeah, yeah, definitely. This go bow scoring, yeah. DadBodSportsCards: All right. Anything else? Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: Okay. Next game is the fucking awful Green Bay Packers at New York Jets. Who do you got, Aaron? Aaron: I got Green Bay. The Jets, I mean, they won last week. Congrats to them. They also played the Titans. My notes here, if Green Bay isn't up ten in the fourth, this should be an easy win for the Packers. But if they have that FlintTown: Yeah. Aaron: double digit lead in the fourth quarter, it's looking scary for them. So I'm gonna give it to the Packers. But I ho I want to see them choke this game away. My player to watch is gonna be I don't even know. Ts I I I'll say Christian Watson again. Because I mean he had two touchdowns over hundred and thirty yards. So I mean, can he replicate that? DadBodSportsCards: All right who you got, Flint. FlintTown: I also have the Packers. I didn't want to pick the Packers. I would like to see the Jets win it out. Because I like Aaron Glenn. I think he's a good coach. just, I don't think that team's all the way. He's got a good defense and he's a defensive coach, but I mean, they could choke it. It's pretty easy. You know, like you said, they don't really have a defense, so they could choke it away. Jordan love. like you said in the other podcast, 50%. That's horrible. Aaron: Mm. DadBodSportsCards: No start start with the sound effects. Aaron: Yeah. FlintTown: 50 % is horrible. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, yeah. Yeah, he was fifty percent completion percentage last week. And I mean, again, he was going against a defense that was blitzing 80% of the time and everything. Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Like it's a lot of it's he probably just has to throw it away or or throw it up, you know. Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: you got anything else on this game? All right, so I am gonna be picking a green team, because we got Green Bay or the Jets, Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: but give me J E T S Jets, Jets, Jets. FlintTown: Jets, jets, jets. DadBodSportsCards: I'm picking the fucking Jets because losing six games in a row. And the way that the Green Bay Packers have lost, it eats at you. And Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: they still don't have their best offensive player and they still don't have their best defensive player. Micah Parsons out, Josh Jacobs is, you know, in the Ray Rice world. So get I think the Jets, it's a home game for the Jets. They w they're coming off a winning streak, which they probably haven't had in a long time. I don't know if they've ever won back to back games in the past couple of years. But give me the Jets. Let's let's keep an eye on Brees Hall. They they want to control the ball, keep the ball away from Jordan Love and that offense, because that offense, I mean, that offense can still be good. Aaron: Mm. DadBodSportsCards: but I I still like I mean Christian Watson is showing that he's their number one wide receiver. I've always been a proponent of like the Packers have a bunch of number twos at at quarterb Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: at wide receiver. They don't have like a true number one. Maybe Watson is that number one after showing what he did last week against Minnesota. I believe Matt Golden had like 10 targets last week, and I think he had 95 yards receiving. So maybe he's starting to pick pick up. Maybe he'll be like the true number one or a like a good number two. But losing eats at you. I mean, Flint, you know, like your team went and sixteen. Like the Bears have the FlintTown: Yeah. Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Bears had plenty of long seasons with like just losing. Like Caleb's first season. We kept Aaron: Three and fourteen. DadBodSportsCards: yeah. Who went three and fourteen? Like I that Aaron: Bears with the Justin Fields. Okay. DadBodSportsCards: okay. I'm talking about Caleb. I don't care about Justin Fucking Fields. But even with Caleb, we had like a six or seven game losing streak, like when in his rookie year with Eberdouche. So like eat like losing eats at you. So I think it's gonna FlintTown: It does. DadBodSportsCards: continue. It's gonna continue. And they're also seeing everything in the media about the Bears and LaFleur. Like everybody's being pissed off at LaFleur and everything. And like they should never give him an extension. They should fire him. So I think all that's gonna eat at you. They could put it all to bed. Do their job and win this week, which most likely might happen. But I'm gonna go with the Jets and Brees Hall, I think, is gonna help control the game for the Jets and FlintTown: If they lose this weekend against the Jets, I guarantee you Packer fans are going to be calling for Matt LaFleur to be canned. DadBodSportsCards: They're already calling for it. Yeah. Yeah. And then Aaron: Yeah. FlintTown: Why this will just be the nail in the coffin Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: and then their next week game, because they play the next Thursday night game. They play against Atlanta. I mean, I mean, this is two wins that they should have. Really, they should have beat Minnesota too. They should be going in these first three games. They should be three and without Jacobs and without Parsons. That that would be good, right? But they're, I don't know what's going on. I mean, we all see what's going on with them. They they don't have their best players and their confidence level on now finishing games. It's just not there. They're on the six six game losing streak. All right. Next game. we got Baker Mayfield going against his former team. We got the Cleveland Browns at Tampa Bay Bucks. Who you got, Aaron? Aaron: Got Tampa Bay, keep it short, Bucky Erie's my player to watch. DadBodSportsCards: Okay. Yep. What about you, Flint? FlintTown: I got Tampa Bay too. Baker's just gonna zip down his pants and give DadBodSportsCards: Ha ha ha. FlintTown: it all to Cleveland to show them what they're missing. Yep. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, they should have never let him go. Same thing. Tampa Bay. I I picked them over Cleveland. And then I'll go with Baker. Bucky Irvin's a good one because like coming into the season, a lot of people thought Gainwell get traction against Bucky. And Bucky had a pretty good game last week. I think he had a fumble, Aaron: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: but he's he still had a good game last week and kept Gainwell on the sideline. So it could just be they're getting Gainwell used to the offense and they didn't use utilize him as much. But Bucky played well. but give me Baker Mayfield as a player to watch and Tampa Bay guesses. All right, next game should be another well, actually, I don't know. We might might not be as easy a game I as it looks. But New Orleans Saints at Baltimore Ravens. Who you got, Aaron? Aaron: It's easy for me, it's Baltimore. Crazy stat. Seventeen completions for Lamar, three hundred twenty four yards. Passing. They got it. It's I don't want to say but they got it this I like I guess because of quotes. But they got Doyle as the offensive side. That that team is gonna be scary. And especially their offense. The biggest problem for them has been, you know, the choking that you know, but could that That could have just been a John Harbaugh thing. they look terrifying. And I don't think New Orleans I don't think they have it in them to beat the Ravens. I think they could have had it last week to beat the Lions. I don't think they have it to beat the Ravens. My player to watch is going to be Lamar. This might be another MVP level season for him. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. I hear you guys. FlintTown: I agree. I think I'm going with Baltimore. I think the high power offense and they showed it. So I just think New Orleans, they're a young team and they got to grow and go through the growing pains of losing and trying to win and losing and trying to win. But give me Baltimore and The to watch is Ray Rice. I'm joking. DadBodSportsCards: I know, I know, I know. FlintTown: No, Lamar. It's going DadBodSportsCards: Lamar. Yep. FlintTown: to be Lamar. DadBodSportsCards: So I'm in agreement with both of you that Baltimore should win this game. And I I'm picking Baltimore that it should be at New Orleans. I fall into this trap every year with Baltimore though, because Baltimore always especially Derek Henry, he always starts the season off pretty well. And for whatever reason, I mean, because maybe he's older and he's getting the ball so much that he kind of tapers off towards the end of the season. But that could have been also a hardball thing for just not giving him the ball as much towards later in the season. health wise Baltimore has to stay healthy to compete because they need Lamar. They need Derrick Henry. I don't think they have good wide receivers. Zay Flowers had a good game last week, but he got banged up a little bit. I don't I think he'll be okay this game, but he got banged up last week. I think he had to leave the game. but other than Zay Flowers, I don't really know who they have at wide receiver. And you might not have to when you got Derrick Henry running the ball like he is, and then you got Lamar. Yes, we got they got Doyle as our offensive coordinator. He's coming from the Ben Johnson. tree and everything. Aaron: Mm. DadBodSportsCards: that's why he went to Baltimore so he could call plays because he wasn't calling plays as offensive coordinator in Chicago. And they could be have a better offensive scheme with this new coaching staff. But New Orleans showed me something last week, especially when Aaron you said last week was like an upset like upset alert with this. And I think I think Baltimore is going to get up on New Orleans like the way the Lions did. But I think The New Orleans is gonna to air it out. And then that's their best offense right now. It's Aaron: yeah. DadBodSportsCards: just airing it out. And things can happen when you air it out. And then you saw that you saw what happened against the Lions. Like they they were eventually the you start you that quarterback starts getting into the rhythm and then you can't stop him. He threw over 400 yards last week. So I think it's gonna be a pretty similar game. I think Baltimore is a better team than Detroit. And it it might not come down like to an overtime or last play. They might be able to hold him off. But I I think New Orleans might show something. And my player to watch is gonna be Tyler Shuck, because I wanna see if he can continue to just sling in it and everything. But I agree with you guys. Baltimore sh w is gonna win the game, I I believe. All right, next game, could be the game of the week. We got the Cincinnati Bengals at Houston Texans. Who you got, Aaron? Aaron: I forgot to write this one down. Hm, I got this is tough. I think I got the Texans. CJ Shroud showed, you know, that he can be better. that defense they they didn't look good against the Bills. The Bengals, they almost shook that game away. They were up like twenty points. Game ended in a six point victory. I think the Bills are a little bit better than the Bengals. And I think DadBodSportsCards: A little bit or a lot? Aaron: Offensively, I think they're a little bit better. And that's gonna be the difference in the game. I think as overall team they're lot better just because of the defense. And Bango's defense is not bad anymore. But I got the Texans. I think they'll be able to bounce back from last week. And my player to watch can be Jamar Chase. He put up a stinker against the Bucks. So DadBodSportsCards: He did. He did. He did. FlintTown: Mm-hmm. Aaron: and I think he's the best wide receiver in the league. I think it's him or Justin Jefferson. FlintTown: JJ. DadBodSportsCards: And he's coming off. I think he has like a knee injury coming like from the preseason and everything too. So it could have been slow. He could have been slowed up by that too. Aaron: yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. But I I'll I'll pick the Texans. I think they're the safer option. And also don't want to see the Bengals win. So my player to watch is gonna be CJ Shroud. Can he win this game for the Texans? 'Cause I think they're gonna need a offense, even if their defense steps up. DadBodSportsCards: you flip. FlintTown: I was going to say I'm taking Houston. think, I think Houston's going to be a better team than Cincinnati. I know we talked the first week about it's this year or bust for Cincinnati. I just don't, I think there's too many good teams in this league over Cincinnati to do it this year too. So DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, yeah. FlintTown: I'm going to take Houston and I want to see their defensive line, what they can do. DadBodSportsCards: To get to Burrow. Yep. FlintTown: to Burrow. DadBodSportsCards: Yep. L like I said last week, Cincinnati, I think it's a bri make or break year for them, especially for Joe Burrow if he's gonna be end up staying in Cincinnati for one, or even continuing to play football because there's whispers last year that I mean, football was just wasn't fun for him that he maybe he'll step away and everything. this is a big game for Cincinnati. This is a big game like like what we talked about with Detroit earlier. This is Cincinnati has to put like the stamp that they're a competitive team because they haven't shown a couple years because of injuries or whatever. their awful coaching with Zach Taylor and everything. but this is Aaron: Yeah, yeah. DadBodSportsCards: this is another home game for Houston. And Houston, this is a must win game too, because they lost last week to the Bills. I think Houston's I Cincinnati, I think Houston's defense can get to Cincinnati's offense. I still think Cincinnati might score 20 points. And both things can be true. I think Cincinnati can score twenty points and Houston's defense still dominates. So I'm gonna say this game's probably gonna be like a twenty seven to twenty-four, twenty-seven to twenty game, just going in Houston. the outlier last week with Houston is Monty scoring three touchdowns. That ain't happening again. That's not happening again. So Aaron: Whew. Yes it is. FlintTown: All DadBodSportsCards: I don't think it is. I I think Monty can probably get one, but he's definitely not getting three again. But I think Houston squeaks it out because they have the better defense. And then I think they can get to Burrow to make to make a play to keep them from winning the game. All right. Next game. on paper, it looks like another good game, but Denver didn't play that well last night. But that could be for many reasons. But we got the Jacksonville Jaguars at Denver Broncos. Who you got, Aaron? Aaron: I got Jacksonville. And I think Denver didn't play good for you know for a reason that they just suck. Their offense is not good. Bonex is not good. I don't think he's gonna be I don't think he you could say he's a bust, but he I don't think he's gonna quarterback of the future for Denver. And if he is, that's a sad future. But I don't think their offense has it. Jalen Waddle, I don't know what's up with him. Like only one catch. made me upset because I lost my game because that. But goodness. I mean I had I'm not gonna get into it, but I did have Monty. That's why I say he's gonna do that again, because I have Monty. But Jacksonville they ended off this last season hot. They had that close game against the Bills in the playoffs. Last week it's against the Browns, but that does build momentum. They did come off a blowout win and doesn't matter against the team that it comes off of it still feels good. And for Denver They're AFC championship team last year, and they just got smoked by the Chiefs with Mahomes his first game back. And I saw a lot of people say he didn't really look that good. I think was he didn't have a pass over f six air yards. Like he just had like a lot of like short dump passes. But they still won. K nine is a scary signing for FlintTown: Mm-hmm. Aaron: Chiefs, probably the best running back Mahomes has had. But I don't I don't trust Denver. I really don't. I don't trust that offense. And that defense, you know, maybe because of how bad the offense was, they split up 31 points. yeah. I got Jacksonville. My player was gonna be Trevor Lawrence. I saw someone say Trevor Lawrence is what people thought Justin Herbert would be. Trevor Lawrence has stepped it up a lot. He's gotten better DadBodSportsCards: Yes. Aaron: last year, and I think he's gonna continue that trend. I saw this one play. He where he threw a touchdown, he threw it perfectly between four defenders on the goal line. Like it was an insane play. So I think he stepped up and I think he's gonna be a top ten, definitely quarterback. He could be getting up there into top five conversations. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Hey, he's a former number one pick. Yeah. Yeah. who you got, Flint. FlintTown: So today when I got home I was watching some some highlights and I was watching the Jacksonville game And Trevor Lawrence looked like a reincarnated, like number one pick that he should have been. Him and Parker Washington was connecting Aaron: yeah. FlintTown: crazy. So I got to pick Jacksonville. Like their run game looked good. Their pass game looked good. He was airing the ball out to all his wide receivers, not just one. BTJ was getting involved and I know he had a slow year last year. BTJ looked good. Parker Washington looked like a stud. So I gotta go with Jacksonville and Trevor Lawrence is gonna be my player to watch. DadBodSportsCards: Yep, Jackson. I'm going with Jacksonville. I think I just think they're a better team than Denver. I was never really sold on Bo Nicks, but Bo Nicks did have a good year last year because he's coaching matters. So, like you got Sean Payton, you know, last year was calling plays for Bo Nicks. Sean Payton doesn't believe Bo Nicks is their future. Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: That's why there's always beef between those two and everything. Sean Payton's not calling the plays this year, and I think that showed last night in Monday Night Football against the Chiefs. Like they just didn't look in sync. They didn't really have a a good game plan against the Chiefs. I think the Chiefs are gonna be better. I think they're motivated this year. you know, because you know, they won they went to three straight Super Bowls. They didn't win all three, but they went to three straight Super Bowls. Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: And like every year, if it wasn't a Super Bowl, it was Yeah, well Aaron: It was AMC championship. He made seventh straight. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, but like saying like there's a lot of pressure, like everybody looking at you is going to the Super Bowl every year. I think some of that pressure with the Chiefs went away with how you know Mahomes getting hurt last season and then they had a bad season last year. Now they can play freely. They can they they don't have that pressure, that target the target on their back like the way it has been. and it showed la it showed last night. Yeah, I mean, he's Mahomes still coming off that big injury, so he didn't Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: have to throw air yards because canine ran all over Denver. Jacksonville's not gonna run all over Denver, but Jacksonville has, you know. Trevor Lawrence is lights out right now with Liam Cohen. So that that combination is working just like, you know, like we talked about earlier. Coaching matters and everything. And it's worked well. Liam Cohen, like Baker Mayfield's best season was with this Jacksonville head coach, and then he just got ahead of coaching job. He's not the coordinator anymore. And you know, we kind of saw Baker dip a little bit last year because he didn't have Liam Cohen. And we saw Trevor Lawrence last year, like he started playing a lot better. So I think Jacksonville continues to roll. Denver's defense is good. They get a lot of sacks, but if they're not getting to the quarterback, then you know, th it's easier it's easier to exploit with the passing game. and I think Trevor Lawrence would do that. All right, next up we got the Las Vegas Raiders at the Chargers. Who you got, Aaron? Aaron: Going bold. I'm riding the train. Gimme Vegas. Genty He set some kind of record. I think he was like the second player to have like a hundred rushing yards and two receiving touchdowns in a game. Like ever. It was something like that. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: It's a record. Aaron: Not a record, but like like a stat. It was something I can't I can't FlintTown: for the Raiders. DadBodSportsCards: Okay. Yeah. Aaron: I can't remember what it was. It was he was second player to do something. Anyways, Genty looks good. Genty looks good. I don't think they're getting Brock Powers this week, right? DadBodSportsCards: I don't know, he might come back, but it's not a hundred Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: percent, yeah. Aaron: Yeah. I mean they played the Dolphins, but they won convincingly, and I don't have any trust in the Chargers. I think you said they look mid, I think they look bad. They lost to the Cardinals, who I was talking up last week, but their offense is not good look look good at all. My whole point with the Cardinals is that their offense is good, you know, but I don't think their defense is that well. Chargers couldn't do anything against that defense. Justin Herbert does not look good. Their offense does not look good, even with Mike McDaniels. So I'm gonna pick Vegas. I think they're gonna be, you know, riding the train because they just won last week, and the Chargers, they're gonna be down at the dumps because they lost to the Cardinals. So my player watches is gonna be Ashton Genty. Great week last week. I'm gonna see him do it again against the Chargers. DadBodSportsCards: Who you Floyd? FlintTown: So I think Gentoo is going to have a good game again. But I'm going to go with the Chargers. I think they're going to clean up some stuff, at least get this win out of the way. The Vegas Raiders ain't that great right now. mean, Kirkco chains can only do so much. I think you got to go with the Chargers on this. Just more experienced, think. Or not more experienced, but altogether a better team. So give me the chargers and let's see if Herbie is the player to watch for me. See if he can bounce back a little bit. DadBodSportsCards: Yep. So you pick the Chargers. Aaron picks Vegas. I'm I'm riding with Aaron. I'm picking Vegas. The reason it's just because I think the Chargers are just average. And I don't even think Vegas is average, but like Genty Genty played really well last week. And he was he was a game changer last week. showed the reason why he was a what a top five pick in that in his draft. So Aaron: Thing goes something like that. FlintTown: Yo. DadBodSportsCards: yeah, yeah. I I think he was like top five or maybe even top six. So whate whatever pick it was. But I mean, my player to watch is gonna be Genty. Continue to feed him the rock. like I think Max Crosby will be able to get to Herbert. I just have no faith in the Chargers until they actually I probably won't ever pick the Chargers until they actually show me something. Like I always I always was high on Herbert. I'm high on Harbaugh, but they always continue to disappoint. I mean, there's a possibility like if the Vegas wins this game, there's two and They started the season FlintTown: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: off two and and you got your future quarterbacks sitting and waiting. And then for me, I feel bad for Fer K for fucking Kirk Cousins. Like he could st he could have a great year this year. He could be like six and one and then he's gonna get benched because it's time for Mendoza time, right? So, like, I mean, I don't know, but like Kirk Cousins never gets the respect like that he Aaron: Yeah. yeah. DadBodSportsCards: deserves. I mean he gets paid he gets he gets FlintTown: Her go-chains! Aaron: So he gets paid. DadBodSportsCards: he gets paid well, but he never gets the respect like cause he th No matter what team he goes to, there's always somebody that they're they're thinking about putting past Kirk Cousins Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: and let Kirk let let let Kirk play. Have have yeah, FlintTown: Like Kirk eat. DadBodSportsCards: yeah, let Kirk eat and let him let him get Vegas to the playoffs. And I don't want that to happen because I want them to trade Crosby to the Bears. But I mean, but again, I just don't have any faith in the Chargers. So give me Vegas and give me Genty. All right, big game next week for the NFC East. We got the Washington Commanders at Dallas Cowboys. What you got Aaron? Aaron: This was a tough one 'cause I didn't really watch the Washington game, so I don't know how they played. Dallas, I watched some of that game. Their defense sucks. That was abysmal. That was a sad showing for them. their offense didn't look that good either. George Pickens had some drops. I'm still gonna pick Dallas. George Pickens does have drops, but he can also come back out next week and not have drops. You know, he Like he had that problem in Pittsburgh towards the end of his career. So and then last year he didn't really have that problem that much. So I think he could bounce back. And I think Dallas, I just like them a lot more than I do like Washington. So I'm gonna pick them. But man, Dallas did not look good. Especially that what that last drive they had on defense, where all the Giants did, they just dumped it off, dumped it off, dumped it off, and it was a the first down every single time and then it led to a touchdown. Like that that was an that was an ugly drive for Dallas's defense. But again, I didn't see how Washington played, so I don't know if they played well or played bad. So I'm just gonna pick Dallas. And my player to watch is gonna be Pickens. I wanna see him bounce back from last week 'cause that was that was horrible. DadBodSportsCards: He flip. FlintTown: This was also a hard one for me to pick. I watched a lot of the highlights of the Washington game. And to be honest, like Washington defense didn't look that bad and JD five didn't look bad. Like he, like it wasn't JD five of first year, but you could see it coming back. Like he was, he was having success. And I tell you what, sunny styles. Holy. Aaron: yeah. FlintTown: Holy Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, yeah. FlintTown: dead dude is a game record With that being said I still got to go with Dallas. I Think it's gonna be a close game. It's divisional. I think There's a lot of history with them two teams, too So I think it's gonna be close, but I'm gonna go with Dallas DadBodSportsCards: Yep. It I to me this game is a toss-up. both both teams, like Dallas disappointed me against the Giants, but I can I can see how they lost to the Giants because the Giants were just more physical than Dallas. Dallas' defense, for whatever reason, they couldn't guard the running backs coming out of the flat and they couldn't guard the tight end either. I they couldn't guard likely. but I think overall Dallas is a better balanced team than the commanders. the Commanders don't really have a running back. I mean, they got JCM, but he's he's he's okay. He's like, I Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: think he's more of a backup. He's not like a true number one. Dallas Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: at least has Javante Williams, who played pretty well. Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: and he played pretty well last season, too. So I'm gonna give me Dallas. My player to watch is gonna be Dak Prescott. I mean, Dallas is more balanced. I I I think they could pull it off. I agree. It's gonna be a close game. It's division rivals. there's a lot of history with these two teams, but let's let's Let's see Dallas get back on track. And then also just to let the JD5 team know, please don't sue us for calling him JD5. So please don't come back for us. I mean, the Dad Bot sports cards business isn't very FlintTown: 2 plus 3. DadBodSportsCards: profitable. So you're not gonna get a ton from us. So just please let our JD five. speaking of five, let please let it go. or or or sue us and then get us in the news. FlintTown: Are you... A, or next week we're all shirtless because we don't have anything. DadBodSportsCards: Right, right. 'Cause they're gonna take they're gonna take everything off our backs. Yep. All right. Next game next game is the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals. Who you got, Aaron? Aaron: I need y'all to go first in this one, 'cause I need to hear y'all's perspective perspective on this game. Cause I'm on the fence. DadBodSportsCards: All right. Well, I'll I'll go first and then we'll have we'll have fun. Okay. So I'm I'm going Seattle, right? Arizona did play well last year. Arizona has a good enough offense because they got Trey McBride. they got two running backs that can wear you out. Like they're they're taking their time with Jeremiah Love. But Tyler Algier, he's a serviceable running back that Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: like he's gonna run you over. He'll tire your defense out. I think he had like six yards rushing last week, and Jeremiah Love scored a touchdown. Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: I don't know. I don't think Marvin Harrison did anything, but it was pretty much the Trey McBride show. And Brissett Brissett's, I mean, he's just gonna keep slinging it, right? Because he's got nothing, Aaron: Yeah, he's a gunslinger. DadBodSportsCards: he's got nothing to lose. He's gonna keep he's gonna keep doing it. And Arizona's defense is good enough. But I'm gonna go with Seattle because I think I mean they're the Super Bowl champs, but I think their defense is gonna be good enough where they can suffocate Arizona's offense. And it's it's a divisional game, so it could be it'll be close. I'm not gonna say it's gonna be a blowout. Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: I think it's gonna be close. But give me Seattle. Drew Locke looked comfortable coming in last week, and he's gonna be the starter again this week. He's still got JSN. Just give the ball to JSN. Aaron: Yes. DadBodSportsCards: JSN's gonna do some damage. there, Jadarian Price, right? Jadarian Price, he played, he played okay. You know, he's a rookie. he scored last week as well. So, well, maybe he didn't score, but but he he looked he looked decent. He looked decent. Feed him the rock, give the ball to JCN. I think their defense will do enough to to hold Arizona. So I got Seattle player to watch is gonna be Price. Who you got Flint? Aaron: J C N FlintTown: I also got Aaron: J C N Hm. DadBodSportsCards: J S J J S N or whatever. No. FlintTown: got Seattle I I think Seattle like you said Super Bowl winning they got a defense and that video I sent you dad Bob drew lock what does he got so yeah Aaron: Big DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, yeah. Yeah, right. Right. From when he was in Missouri, right? Yeah. Yeah. Aaron: Yeah. FlintTown: so let me go with Seattle and Drew like look good DadBodSportsCards: It did. Aaron: Yeah. FlintTown: So let's roll with drew lock and the Seattle Seahawks DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, Drew Lock didn't look lost. Like, I mean, he look he looked he looked comfortable. He looked comfortable. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Aaron: Yeah, no he look he looked fine. FlintTown: Yeah, he slang, he was slinging it. DadBodSportsCards: All right, Aaron, who you got? Aaron: Right. Yes convinced me to swap my pick. I'm DadBodSportsCards: You can pick Arizona. Aaron: gonna pick Arizona. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, yeah. Aaron: It's not that I don't have faith in the Seahawks offense, but I think without Darnold they're gonna be missing a step. And I think that's what it is to gonna have Arizona win this. It's gonna be a close game. But I think Arizona's defense can hold up just enough in that offense. There's too many guys I think that can make a difference on that offense. And I mean the deep the Seattle defense, they still looked good. They looked really good week one. But I think I just wanna ride this Arizona train. I wanna see them win this game against the Seahawks, so I'm gonna pick them. My prayer to watch is gonna be I was gonna be Jeremiah Love. He had a touchdown last week, he had a pretty good game last week. I wanna see him replicate that 'cause they're gonna need it in order to win. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. I I just think Seattle's pass rush is gonna be too good. they'll be able to disrupt Aaron: Yeah. I think they're more proven team. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, they'll they'll disrupt the the brassette to McBride. I mean, they gotta stop McBride. 'Cause McBride is the heart and soul of that offense. Like, I mean, Aaron: Yes. Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: how many catches did get last week? Like I don't know. He scored he's he scored a lot for fantasy. Aaron: Think was over ten. He did. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Definitely more than Loveland. All right. Next game. Next game we got the awful Miami Dolphins at San Francisco 49ers. Who you got, Aaron? Aaron: I got San Fran. They looked dominant in week one against one of the better teams on paper. And Miami they suck. So I got San Francisco. I guess Christian McCaffrey's gonna be my player to watch. DadBodSportsCards: What about you, Flint? FlintTown: Bang, bang, manor gang. DadBodSportsCards: Ha ha ha. FlintTown: Brock Purdy. DadBodSportsCards: Brock Purdy and the Fortnite. Yeah. Yeah, this one, this one's quick and easy. Forty Niners, I think, are gonna blow the Miami Dolphins out. And let the CMC. Let hopefully CMC has a better game this week. He was just he was about mid. He was pretty mid last week. So let let's see if he he can start the season off right in in this game and get back on track. All right. Next game is the Indianapolis Colts at Kansas City Chiefs in Kansas City. This is the Sunday night football game. Who do you got, Aaron? Aaron: Kansas City. I was talking about earlier, K9 was a scary signing. And you did think about it and you didn't say anything, so I'm gonna say it again. He's the best running back Mahomes has played with. Probably s better than Damian Williams, right? So he almost won Super He almost won Super Bowl MVP in that first Super Bowl. I don't think Indy has it. Like they didn't look that good offensively or defensively. I mean Jonathan Taylor had an amazing game. I think it was like ninety eight yards, two touchdowns. They were playing against Baldwin, yes. DadBodSportsCards: And again, they were also playing against Baltimore. So yeah. Aaron: Kansas City defense is good. Their first round pick got an interception, like in one of the first drives. Like that that's that's a good sign. I think their defense is gonna be good, like it has been the last two years, and their offense, you know, I don't think they have to rely on Mahomes to do his thing as much. They have a good running game. So I think they're gonna run all over indie just like the Ravens did. And they're gonna win this game convincingly. I don't think it's gonna be close at all. So my player to watch is gonna be K9. DadBodSportsCards: Yep. All right, who you got, Flint? FlintTown: quick and easy, Kansas City, no question about it. Petty Mahomes look incredible for coming DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. FlintTown: back. So. Jonathan Taylor is my player to watch though. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. I so I I'm I'm in agreement. I think Kansas City's gonna win this game. I think it's gonna be closer. I don't think Indianapolis is as bad as they looked last week because they played against Baltimore, because Baltimore Aaron: Mm-hmm. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: is just really good. K9 totally surprised me. Like I did not see that coming. I never thought K9 was a good running back at all, ever. So like I FlintTown: You didn't see them at Michigan State. That's why. DadBodSportsCards: Well yeah, yeah, yeah. Well Aaron: Well, that's also college. DadBodSportsCards: yeah, nobody saw him at Michigan State either. Well, you did 'cause you live in Michigan. Yeah. I mean I I mean, I I know his highlights. I Aaron: Yeah. FlintTown: Dude, he ran all over Michigan and killed us. DadBodSportsCards: yeah, I I know his highlights, but like in as far as an NFL career, I just thought he was just like a middle of the row running back. Like between FlintTown: No, he's good. DadBodSportsCards: between sixteen and twenty, like out of all the running backs, that's where I put canine, his whole career. I still feel that way. Like, yeah, he was a Super Bowl MVP last year. I mean, he every now and then you you have a player that has a great game and he did in the Super Bowl. And maybe he's taken that confidence and he's on a a lot better. Well, I'm not gonna say Kansas City's a lot better than Seattle, but he went to another organization that is well established. Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: you got Andy Reid that's been there forever. You got you got all the right pieces. Aaron, Aaron said it best is they don't have to rely on Mahomes anymore. And they showed that last night where that if if Kansas City can play defense and run the ball and have Mahomes just there to make a few key plays a game, Kansas City's gonna win a lot of games this year. Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: And because FlintTown: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: because Mahomes is good enough to win you games. And I'm not even saying like Mahomes is out. It's just he's coming back from injury. You're gonna have to slow roll him this season. It's a long season. Mahomes can still do Mahomes like things. Eventually, Rasheed Rice. Will be, you know, a true number one. He didn't have a great game last night, but I don't know. He went up against Sertan, right? So so he didn't have a great game last night and they still dominated and everything. K9 ran all over the place. I don't think he's gonna run all over the place against Indianapolis. I think we'll see a little bit something better from Indy, but give me give me Kansas City and then I don't know if I said a player to watch yet, but we'll we'll we'll say Mahomes because I want to see Mahomes continue to play well. I'm rooting for the Chiefs this year. Cause I'm they had Tom Cruise there last night sitting next to Taylor Swift. Like, you can shake your head all you want, Aaron. I don't know how they had were able to contain all that fucking awesomeness with Taylor Swift and Tom Cruise sitting next to each other. The only thing that would have been better is if you would have had Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams sitting next to each other in in that suite. All right. Last game, the Monday night football game this week. It's gonna be the visiting New York Giants coming all the way from the east coast, going all the way to the west coast to the Los Angeles Rams. Who do you got, Aaron? Aaron: And the Rams coming all the way from Australia. But who knows, maybe they'll get one night of sleep again. I had the Rams. I was on the fence of this thinking about it. Like my nose say Giants, they can move the wall pretty they can move the ball pretty well. Like their offense looked good enough that it wasn't like last year. Their defense they they looked fine. You know, they looked pretty solid. But I don't think they have it to beat the Rams. Rams are missing Miles Garrett, but he was pretty much a non factor in that first game. Aaron Donald, this might be his first game. DadBodSportsCards: Maybe, yeah, yeah. Aaron: 'cause I don't think he wanted to go all the way to Australia. But I think the Rams I think they're gonna bounce back. I th it could have been the sleep thing that messed them up and then they just got blown out by San Francisco. But I think the Rams will bounce back and I think they're gonna beat the Giants. I don't think the Giants have it in them to beat the Rams. My player to watch is gonna be Isaiah Likely. What a game he had against Dallas. FlintTown: you Aaron: And I wanna see if that's a fluke or if that's just something that we're gonna see in This offense with the Giants. DadBodSportsCards: Yep. Here you Flint. FlintTown: This was a tough one for me. I'm not going to lie. Like I was kind of looking at it back and forth, back and forth. Cause I think the giants are a playoff team this year and they got a good offense and their defensive line is really good. But Like, man, because the winning, they keep winning, they keep winning that building that confidence. But them traveling all the way to LA, I got to go with the Rams because the Rams are going to be pissed off that they lost that first game. So give me the Rams and let's. I want to Stafford. He's got to step up this game because he DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. It does. FlintTown: did not look good. DadBodSportsCards: So, like you, I struggled with this with this game. before the season, I would have picked the Rams all day long. Cause just by on paper, I think the Rams are a better team. there's a lot of talent with the Giants. But after watching that game against Dallas with the Giants, I'm gonna pick the Giants over the Rams. And and it's kind of been the theme of this podcast is coaching matters. When you have the right coach. For the talent on your team. There FlintTown: You Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: we go. We got the it's perfect timing because I did pick up. I did I did pick the Giants. So he's got the dart jersey. And I like FlintTown: I know I can hear you. DadBodSportsCards: I'm I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm picking the Giants. Like I think they showed a lot. They're gonna be more physical. They're gonna be more physical than the Rams are. The Rams, I mean, this is a must-win for the Rams because they got shellac. They want to prove to everybody, but I don't think they have enough on defense. Like when you think of the Giants' toughness, I'm not even thinking about their defense toughness. I'm thinking about their offense. Scataboo's Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: gonna fucking hit you with his helmet. Jackson Dart's gonna hit you with his helmet. Isaiah Likely had a really good game. And we haven't even said Malik Neighbors yet. And like FlintTown: I DadBodSportsCards: he's he's Malik Neighbors is a you know, he if he comes back right from his injury, he could be a top ten wide receiver in this league and Aaron: Definitely. DadBodSportsCards: everything. So, Give me the Giants until Jackson Dart or Scataboo die on the field. I will probably ride them until that happens. But I I think I think the Rams are just kind of being kind of hurting right now. I think the Rams in the middle of the season, towards the end, they'll pick up steam. I think they're an older team. They're a veteran team. And what happens usually a lot with veteran teams and older teams after the preseason, because they don't play in the preseason, it takes a little while for them to get started, right? To to get to get everything going. Like the way it should be for for a team and everything. So give give me the Giants. I think they're they're stupid enough. just because the guys that are leading that team, and then you got har harboss changing the mentality of how to play football and keeping them physical. I mean he he brought he brought over that fullback with him and they brought over likely and everything. So give give me the Giants. My player to watch is gonna be I don't know, Malik neighbors. I want to see neighbors ha have a really good game. What you got, Aaron? Aaron: I would pick the Giants if they had Calvin Austin. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, Jesus. FlintTown: my gosh! No, the thing is, like you said, like I love watching the Giants because like they have that like rah-rah mentality. Like DadBodSportsCards: Mm-hmm. FlintTown: Dart, Scat, Neighbors, all them guys are like all like having fun doing it. So when you watch that, you're like, man, I want to root for them, you know, because like Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, they're li're v they're very likable. Yeah. Yeah. They FlintTown: Yes, and they're having fun! DadBodSportsCards: they're having fun. They're fucking doing backflips and fucking FlintTown: Yeah DadBodSportsCards: all this shit. Like they just don't give a shit. They're they're just out there having fun playing football. FlintTown: Yeah. Yup. DadBodSportsCards: And, you know, like I I think I mean the the the Rams offense scares because they still got Puka, they still got Devontae Adams, they got Kyron Williams, they got Quorum. Like that offense still scares me. I just don't think they have enough defense right now. FlintTown: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: to to hold the Giants, especially with Harbaugh, and it's and this is awful. Like their offensive coordinator is fucking Matt Naggy, who I can't stand, but he's he's a decent offensive mind, right? He's coming from the FlintTown: Do you think? DadBodSportsCards: he's coming from the Andy Reid coaching tree. FlintTown: Do you think Pooka's gonna run on the sideline and try to bite Scattaboo? DadBodSportsCards: Maybe. Maybe. They they I mean who knows with those two, like who knows what they're gonna do like during the game or after the game. They might they might jello wrestle each other like at some point. Like because they they're they're FlintTown: They've both gone a while. DadBodSportsCards: both weird. Weird. I don't know. Puka Puka tried in his in his interview, like before the game leading up to the Australia game, try to show he's a father now and he's trying to be, you know, he he's a father, he's not crazy like all this stuff that you're hearing from him. The dude's still fucking crazy. And then you got FlintTown: Yeah. he's crazy. DadBodSportsCards: and then you got Scataboo talking about like after his injuries like I don't even know if I want play football anymore. It's like what FlintTown: Yep. DadBodSportsCards: the fuck? Like like FlintTown: Yup. DadBodSportsCards: these their minds are fucking totally different. I would have FlintTown: it's- hey, their minds are complete jello. And I'm sorry, it is. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah, it is. It ha it it has to be, especially for Scataboo, coming off that awful ankle. I mean, we all remember that ankle broken Aaron: Mm-hmm. DadBodSportsCards: ankle last year, right? And then FlintTown: It was nasty. DadBodSportsCards: he's telling his teammate, help me up with the broken ankle. And his teammate's like, No, dude, Aaron: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: your fucking ankle. He's No, come on, help me up. It's just a fucking this he's he'll probably pop it back in place, like right there. But like he's just different, and then coming off that injury, he's doing backflips, and it's not FlintTown: I know. DadBodSportsCards: It's not just like one little backflip. He's looking like he foot should be in the fucking movie Bring It On and you know fucking it's it like we we it's cold in here because there's some toros in the atmosphere. Like that's what fucking Cam Scadaboo's doing. I don't know what they're doing, but John Harbaugh has made a difference with that team. They look totally different. I didn't see them beating Dallas and they beat down Dallas pretty well. And I I just like what John Harbaugh's doing with that team. So I I will I will give it to them this week. All right, you guys got anything else? But you guys got anything else from this week? Anything you wanna say? Welcome back, Chloe. Welcome back Aaron: Don't DadBodSportsCards: Chloe. FlintTown: Hey, Browns fans, do what I said. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. FlintTown: Do not let your owners just run your team into the ground. DadBodSportsCards: Yeah. Aaron, you got anything? Aaron: all those comparisons of all the twenty twenty four quarterbacks, it's over. Caleb's the best DadBodSportsCards: It is. Aaron: one. DadBodSportsCards: Kale is the best one out of them. FlintTown: No, I think you gotta like, I think it's too quick to say Bo Nix and Drake. I Aaron: No, no, no. DadBodSportsCards: Nope. Nope. FlintTown: do think you're, them guys, you gotta still give them time. But I think, DadBodSportsCards: They're three years in. FlintTown: well, yeah, I know. And it's one game out of the year. DadBodSportsCards: Well, so the r the reason why I will fight against that is because for three years Caleb has shown you like he's consistent. Like he doesn't turn the ball over. FlintTown: His first series sucked. DadBodSportsCards: His first year he had twenty one and seven. I mean but that's FlintTown: No, I know, but he didn't do much. Aaron: Hence DadBodSportsCards: that's but that's but yeah, I mean you're correct, but he still went twenty one and seven. JD five J D five had a awesome rookie year, but FlintTown: Yep. DadBodSportsCards: then he hasn't done anything a second year Aaron: Sucked last year. DadBodSportsCards: and he he FlintTown: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: sucked last year because he was hurt. But then that like this year, like I don't think he's gonna I don't think he's gonna do anything either. And then you got Bo Nicks, who had a great year last year, wasn't that great as a rookie. He was okay as a rookie, FlintTown: Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: had a great year last year, and then now we saw a first game, right? Yes, I get it. So early Drake May didn't like Drake May didn't really show anything the first year. Second year he made it to the Super Bowl, but there's a lot of reasons for that. But we'll give it to him, like he made it to the Super Bowl. And then we showed what happens again when he plays against a good team. Caleb has been the only one, and maybe JD5. the fur the JD5's first season. Out of all those quarterbacks, when they actually play against a good team, like Caleb's not losing you the game. JD5's not losing you the game. Drake Drake FlintTown: Yeah, you're right. DadBodSportsCards: Drake may can lose you the game. And we we've seen that when he plays against big teams. Bo Nicks, this was kind of the first time where you kind of see, like, okay, he's he's losing you the game because he didn't he didn't play well at all last night. Aaron: Mm-hmm. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: But I mean there's there's plenty of fact. It is still early, but for me, Caleb's also yeah, I'm a Bears fan, but I think he's been the most most consistent. He's he's been the least one I've been worried about. You don't have to worry about injuries with Caleb because he's not injury prone. FlintTown: All I'm saying is that is probably the best giraffe class of quarterbacks in a long time that had four really good quarterbacks come out. DadBodSportsCards: Since since Aaron: And don't forget about nine. DadBodSportsCards: the eighty s yeah. Well I already I already did. I already did. Yeah, already already did. FlintTown: He's in the back. DadBodSportsCards: but like I mean it's gonna be comp it's gonna be comparable to the eighty three draft where you had you had Merino, who else was in that draft? Elway and I I FlintTown: Yep. L.A. DadBodSportsCards: know that and there's someone else too. fuck I can't remember off the top of my head, but someone's gonna kill me in the comments. But Jim Kelly, Jim Kelly, yep. I FlintTown: Kelly, Jim Kelly. Yeah. DadBodSportsCards: mean that was that was a good eighty eighty three draft was was real really good. and we'll see, we'll see. I I don't think I don't think JD five's gonna come back to way what what he was. I think that's but Drake May could be good, Bo Nicks could be good. We're seeing right now, like with Caleb, I mean Caleb completed 72% of his passes. And if Caleb keeps I always I everybody talked about completion percentage, I don't really care, but I knew if Caleb got to like sixty-five, sixty-four percent completion percentage, like he's gonna be drastically better than what he was last year. If you get him around 70%, if you get him like golf, if you get him around golf style percent completion percentage, this is what we're gonna get every week: 59 points. Like we're gonna get that every week. Yeah, yeah. He he's gonna FlintTown: It's going to be dangerous. He'll be dangerous. DadBodSportsCards: he's gonna be more than dangerous. He's gonna be like Iran and the nukes. Like how Trump feels about Iran getting nukes is where Caleb is at. Just just dropping bombs everywhere. Like Yep. All right. So anything else, guys? Nope. All right. FlintTown: I'm good DadBodSportsCards: All right. Great show. looking forward to this this whisk games. I can't wait for the Thursday night game. I'm really excited to see what Detroit can do again against Buffalo and s and or if I can continue to call them a last place team to you guys. All right. Yeah. Yeah. All right. FlintTown: I just want to see a good game in competitive. DadBodSportsCards: Yep. All right. Everyone, peace out. Thank you again for the four of you listening and welcome back, Chloe. Dom, Big Riz, thank you guys for always being supportive. RKEC, every now and then you watch GNG, Green Bay fucking sucks. Peace out.
