- 0:00Speaker 1: It's time for the almost famous podcast. I'm telling you
- 0:04Speaker 1: this week did not disappoint. Yes, it's four hours of television,
- 0:08Speaker 1: but these four hours felt to me more engaging than
- 0:13Speaker 1: previous weeks. I felt more paradise e than most weeks.
- 0:19Speaker 1: And we're here to talk about it right here with Ashley. Hello, Ashley, Hello, Benjamin,
- 0:24Speaker 1: how are you? I'm good? How are you? How was
- 0:28Speaker 1: your trip? Okay? So here's the deal. Today is my
- 0:31Speaker 1: first full day in Colorado in over a month. Uh.
- 0:39Speaker 1: I don't know how you do it. Well. October was
- 0:42Speaker 1: a really hard month. Um. It started out uh with
- 0:48Speaker 1: Las Vegas. Um, it ended uh last week at Maddie
- 0:53Speaker 1: Pruitt and Grant Trout's wedding UH in Dallas. Uh. We
- 0:59Speaker 1: did Mexico, as I mentioned, for my buddy Brandon, UM,
- 1:03Speaker 1: it was his kind of UM. I don't know if
- 1:05Speaker 1: it's his last Mexical trip. I don't want to say that.
- 1:07Speaker 1: You never know, Like I hope it's many more Mexico
- 1:09Speaker 1: trips to go. But the Secrets resort, and I just
- 1:12Speaker 1: got to give him a shout out. UM. I tried
- 1:14Speaker 1: to get a free trip there. They wouldn't give me
- 1:16Speaker 1: a free trip. So there is nothing behind this other
- 1:19Speaker 1: than the fact that they were so kind to him.
- 1:21Speaker 1: They built customized wheelchair ramps in the sand so they
- 1:26Speaker 1: could go into the sand. They also on their exit,
- 1:31Speaker 1: they planted a tree. Uh in honor of Um. Not
- 1:35Speaker 1: in memory of an honor of So He's gonna go
- 1:37Speaker 1: back and visit, I believe a thousand more times, but
- 1:39Speaker 1: in honor of Brandon and his wife Sam. It was
- 1:43Speaker 1: a special trip, really really great to just be with
- 1:46Speaker 1: Jess on the beach. She read three books. I read
- 1:49Speaker 1: like three fourths of one of mine, and we were
- 1:52Speaker 1: reading as much. That's that's just how fast of a
- 1:55Speaker 1: reader she is. UM. And then I was in the
- 1:59Speaker 1: Rhode Island this month as well, uh, with a lot
- 2:02Speaker 1: of other trips in between. Do you see thing your Oxford,
- 2:09Speaker 1: Los Angeles where else? That's somewhere else, all within this month.
- 2:14Speaker 1: So I'm back in Denver now, hanging out with Whalen,
- 2:17Speaker 1: hanging out my wife here to talk to you about Paradise,
- 2:20Speaker 1: and I couldn't be more excited. I gotta tell you
- 2:21Speaker 1: a quick I know I'm taking over the first of
- 2:23Speaker 1: this episode, but I gotta tell you really cool story
- 2:25Speaker 1: real quick, can't I yes, please, But can you talk
- 2:28Speaker 1: about Maddie's wedding later in the episode right Bachelor headlines,
- 2:32Speaker 1: I'm going to just cover that thing. I'm gonna tell
- 2:34Speaker 1: you all the juicy details. And okay, good, thank you.
- 2:36Speaker 1: There's like all of Bachelor Nation. They're pretty sure she
- 2:39Speaker 1: invited her entire Peter season. It was a lot of people,
- 2:42Speaker 1: a lot of people I've never met in person before.
- 2:44Speaker 1: And I will tell you, um, as as most times
- 2:47Speaker 1: when I meet people from the show that I've never
- 2:49Speaker 1: met before, it was it was really awesome to meet them. Uh.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Some I had met in Vegas, like Victoria. Um, but
- 2:57Speaker 1: this is special. So okay, last night, it's Halloween. I love.
- 3:04Speaker 1: I love one part about Halloween that is sitting at
- 3:06Speaker 1: my house and pass at candy. I never dressed up
- 3:08Speaker 1: as a kid. I always liked the idea of people
- 3:10Speaker 1: coming seeing the costumes scene. Never dressed up as a kid,
- 3:13Speaker 1: you dislike to pass a candy as a kid. I
- 3:16Speaker 1: loved it and I still love it today. And last
- 3:19Speaker 1: night my mom was in town because she watched Whalen
- 3:22Speaker 1: while just and I were traveling, and so she was
- 3:24Speaker 1: out of here. Um it was her last evening here
- 3:27Speaker 1: and so we decided to sit on our front porch
- 3:30Speaker 1: to pass out candy because it was very nice out um.
- 3:33Speaker 1: And so we're sitting on the front porch. I was
- 3:34Speaker 1: wearing a full tigger outfit, had a Martinian hand. I mean,
- 3:38Speaker 1: I was living my dream. And these kids, I mean,
- 3:42Speaker 1: our neighborhood is packed full of kids trick or treating.
- 3:46Speaker 1: I don't know how many we had last night, maybe
- 3:47Speaker 1: over a hundred, so many kids that come to the door.
- 3:51Speaker 1: And as this crowd of kids are walking down the
- 3:54Speaker 1: street through my yard, there is a seven by seven
- 3:59Speaker 1: bull elk, massive elk walking through my yard towards these kids. Okay, shot,
- 4:08Speaker 1: that is so hilarious, cool and terrifying, terrifying. So my mom,
- 4:14Speaker 1: who's from Indiana, freaks out. She's like, there's a helk.
- 4:16Speaker 1: There's no it's going towards the kids. So she runs
- 4:20Speaker 1: into the yard and she's like, guys, guys, stop stop walking,
- 4:24Speaker 1: don't come any farther. There's an elk like ten ft
- 4:26Speaker 1: that way, can you see it? And the kids, good
- 4:29Speaker 1: old Colorado kids, look at here and they go, he
- 4:32Speaker 1: just wants candy too, And they walked right past him,
- 4:35Speaker 1: I mean right past. Yeah, didn't he even blink. And
- 4:39Speaker 1: she's like freaking out, thinking this is the like the
- 4:41Speaker 1: worst thing that ever happened on Halloween. The kids just
- 4:44Speaker 1: looking to go he didn't. He just wants candy too,
- 4:47Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. So they're just used to it. It's
- 4:51Speaker 1: very used to it, very used to it. In fact,
- 4:53Speaker 1: the elk grabbed pumpkins from our neighbor's house and was
- 4:56Speaker 1: eating the pumpkins off the front step and at people
- 4:59Speaker 1: acting like wasn't even there, like not even a big o.
- 5:03Speaker 1: I haven't my like, okay, cool, could I look at
- 5:06Speaker 1: it right now? Yeah, you can look at it right now.
- 5:08Speaker 1: It's posted on my stories. Elks are like the big
- 5:13Speaker 1: moose like things, not like man dear right, not male deer. No, No,
- 5:18Speaker 1: they're massive. They're not as big as a mouse. They're
- 5:21Speaker 1: not as big as a moose. There are a lot
- 5:23Speaker 1: there there, triple the size of a deer. Then this
- 5:30Speaker 1: looks like the most obnoxious like front yard Christmas to core, like,
- 5:37Speaker 1: it looks like somebody put this in their yard for Christmas. Yeah,
- 5:40Speaker 1: like a reindeer. You gotta get on and check it out.
- 5:42Speaker 1: If you're listening this, just get on look at it
- 5:44Speaker 1: it's hilarious. I think it's fascinating. Even living out here
- 5:47Speaker 1: for ten years, I still get excited when an elk
- 5:49Speaker 1: walks through the yard. I still get excited when wildlife
- 5:52Speaker 1: is near us. Uh, but it was I just I
- 5:56Speaker 1: think the story is amazing because of the kid's response,
- 5:58Speaker 1: Like my mom's so nerve, is so scared, like, please, don't, don't,
- 6:02Speaker 1: don't there's an elk. He just wants candy too. It's all.
- 6:05Speaker 1: It's not a big deal. Lady, go back and give us.
- 6:09Speaker 1: What are their reputations? Are they friendly? I would I
- 6:13Speaker 1: wouldn't say they're friendly. Yes, they're they're very they're very
- 6:17Speaker 1: calm and groups. They're all around our neighborhood all the time.
- 6:22Speaker 1: But there there are stories of elk, like especially in
- 6:26Speaker 1: rut Um, you know, hurting humans and running after them,
- 6:30Speaker 1: tramp you know, trampling on things. But typically you're not
- 6:34Speaker 1: scared of an elk. You don't. I don't know, I
- 6:36Speaker 1: don't know that they're not. I took Whalen out to
- 6:38Speaker 1: go to the bathroom at like ten o'clock and there's
- 6:40Speaker 1: an elk five feet in front of me, like a
- 6:42Speaker 1: big that probably the same elk, and uh, it's like
- 6:45Speaker 1: still like makes you nervous, Like you said, I still
- 6:49Speaker 1: got like whoa like I I come on, buddy, let's
- 6:51Speaker 1: go back inside. Because they're huge and heavy and powerful
- 6:57Speaker 1: and strong and like yeah, and their wild animal. So
- 7:00Speaker 1: that was my Halloween. Um, well, I don't know how
- 7:04Speaker 1: to transition, but should we get started episode because there's
- 7:07Speaker 1: a lot to talk about. Let's do that. Let's do that.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Everybody can check out my Halloween on my Instagram. It's
- 7:13Speaker 1: all gonna be there. That's great, that's great. I can't
- 7:17Speaker 1: wait to look at it. Dawson's first Halloween, Yes, Dawson's first.
- 7:22Speaker 1: He literally passed out candy yesterday. Like I'm not exaggerating,
- 7:27Speaker 1: Like he sat on my lap and he had his
- 7:29Speaker 1: hand in the cauldron and basically it was like going
- 7:33Speaker 1: like this to kids. It was the cutest thing in
- 7:36Speaker 1: the entire world. You can see it on Instagram. Okay, yes,
- 7:39Speaker 1: let's go into episode one of this week after this break.
- 7:55Speaker 1: I feel like the theme of this episode, Ashley is
- 7:59Speaker 1: confused usion and not confusion in the sense that we've
- 8:02Speaker 1: talked about in past episodes where it's like I don't
- 8:04Speaker 1: understand what's going on. Confusion in the relationships. Um, you know,
- 8:09Speaker 1: now we have both groups coming back together in one house. Uh,
- 8:14Speaker 1: there has been other bonds formed. There's now people who
- 8:17Speaker 1: are in love triangles. There are people who left you
- 8:21Speaker 1: know when the when the group split in relationship. Now
- 8:24Speaker 1: they're not in relationship. They're trying to figure out if
- 8:27Speaker 1: anybody's coming to the beach for them or if there's
- 8:29Speaker 1: another relationship that exists on the beach for them. I felt,
- 8:32Speaker 1: I feel like this week I watches and I it
- 8:35Speaker 1: could be the evil side of me. I enjoy watching
- 8:38Speaker 1: the confusion of Love in Paradise. I agree. And you
- 8:43Speaker 1: said at the top of the episode that you felt
- 8:45Speaker 1: like this episode was really These episodes are compelling, and yes,
- 8:48Speaker 1: we've watched both episodes while recording this episode one. Um,
- 8:54Speaker 1: I agree. I think it's because we're just feeling a
- 8:57Speaker 1: lot of serious relationships, a lot of deep feelings, and
- 9:02Speaker 1: they're gonna pepper in new people. But we know that
- 9:04Speaker 1: those new people are just kind of like for us
- 9:06Speaker 1: to like get like a fun storyline from not anything
- 9:09Speaker 1: serious from well except for maybe Justin. Yah, I take
- 9:13Speaker 1: that back. Justin's here for Justin's here for drama. Know
- 9:17Speaker 1: that Justin himself has ever drama, but this is definitely
- 9:20Speaker 1: one of those moments where it's like, oh, I like you,
- 9:23Speaker 1: Paradise is not touched from producers. That's what people say, right.
- 9:27Speaker 1: But then again, like when they do make moves like
- 9:30Speaker 1: this where it's obviously a produced storyline because Justin can't
- 9:33Speaker 1: drive himself to play as Candida, it's always good TV.
- 9:39Speaker 1: I might yes, I would agree. I would say that
- 9:43Speaker 1: we have to his viewers expect Paradise to be more
- 9:45Speaker 1: produced than any other of the like franchise shows that it.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Paradise is set up to be produced. It's an isolated environment,
- 9:56Speaker 1: multiple storylines, new people to the beach, date cards being
- 9:59Speaker 1: handed out at random to you know, mix up the
- 10:03Speaker 1: relationships that already exist. I feel like I feel like
- 10:06Speaker 1: it's a viewer I watch Paradise knowing that, yes, this
- 10:09Speaker 1: is gonna be way way I hope not overly produced,
- 10:13Speaker 1: but it's going to be very produced, just because that
- 10:16Speaker 1: is the setup of the show. I want to ask you, actually,
- 10:20Speaker 1: at the top of this episode, now that we've seen
- 10:24Speaker 1: a kind of a weak removed from the separation of groups,
- 10:29Speaker 1: do you feel like it made the stronger relationships stronger
- 10:33Speaker 1: or do you feel like it just hurts every relationship
- 10:36Speaker 1: that existed. Um, okay, so it probably kept Serene and
- 10:43Speaker 1: Brandon on course, I don't think they really they get
- 10:49Speaker 1: it touched it Victoria and Johnny probably eventually stronger because
- 10:57Speaker 1: I think that he's going to have to come more
- 10:59Speaker 1: out of shell because of this, because of like the
- 11:03Speaker 1: fact that Alex was playing a role, so he was
- 11:08Speaker 1: ye forced to be like more vocal, and then what
- 11:13Speaker 1: else would have really remained? Genevieven Aaron, there's like, Okay,
- 11:21Speaker 1: explain to me this drama with them at the beginning
- 11:24Speaker 1: of the episode, because I just I just don't get it. Well,
- 11:30Speaker 1: some would say it's passion. I think that's a word
- 11:33Speaker 1: that some would throw around. Is they're very passionate about
- 11:35Speaker 1: each other. They're physically very passionate with each other, They're
- 11:39Speaker 1: emotionally very passionate with each other. Uh. Some would also
- 11:43Speaker 1: say it seems fairly unhealthy. Uh that this, like that
- 11:47Speaker 1: conflict seems to be an undertone of their relationship so far,
- 11:52Speaker 1: at really every turn. But you know, I do know
- 11:56Speaker 1: couples who are very happily married for tens in tens
- 12:01Speaker 1: of years who fight you know, they don't fight and
- 12:05Speaker 1: like hurt the other person in the process, and you know,
- 12:08Speaker 1: personally take that digs at them, but they argue and
- 12:11Speaker 1: that's how they work through whatever is going on in
- 12:13Speaker 1: their head. I also know couples that who say they've
- 12:15Speaker 1: never fought and their whole relationship. And so it's yet
- 12:20Speaker 1: to be seeing kind of if this is healthy or not.
- 12:22Speaker 1: But I do feel like it's it's a very passionate relationship.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Uh and is that going to be the Is the
- 12:28Speaker 1: passion going to be a thing that really drives him
- 12:30Speaker 1: or is this is unhealthy? Which I think we'll see
- 12:33Speaker 1: as episodes progress here. I love Genevieves so much. Okay,
- 12:38Speaker 1: she's really awesome girl. I think she does have a
- 12:42Speaker 1: personality that may create dramatic relationships just because she is
- 12:48Speaker 1: super sensitive. She doesn't let things simmer, like you know,
- 12:53Speaker 1: she doesn't like um digest situations before she talks about
- 12:57Speaker 1: them necessarily. So like I do feel like she's like
- 13:01Speaker 1: flack and jumped to conclusions and like be a little
- 13:05Speaker 1: accusatory before really needing to be Do you do you agree? Well,
- 13:10Speaker 1: she she's reactionary and you know, like you said, sounding smarter, Well, no,
- 13:16Speaker 1: she is. She doesn't contemplate what she's about to say.
- 13:18Speaker 1: She doesn't contemplate the environment in the situation and the
- 13:21Speaker 1: people involved. She's reactionary. You know. I mean this because
- 13:25Speaker 1: I told her this and I told you this. She
- 13:28Speaker 1: reminds me emotionally a lot like you, where you hold
- 13:31Speaker 1: your emotions your sleeve. You're very emotional because you care
- 13:35Speaker 1: very deeply. Sometimes you're insecurities will be the thing that
- 13:40Speaker 1: you speak upon, like I need you to do this,
- 13:43Speaker 1: and why aren't you doing this? And somebody might be
- 13:45Speaker 1: saying I am doing this. You're just you're just creating
- 13:49Speaker 1: this thing up here, and you have to talk it
- 13:51Speaker 1: through and work it through and then typically, you know,
- 13:55Speaker 1: you come to a really good place, especially when there's
- 13:57Speaker 1: passion behind it. I laugh because what he just said
- 14:03Speaker 1: was so true, And I'm allowed to say that about
- 14:06Speaker 1: Genevieve because it is me and for all my tailors
- 14:09Speaker 1: with fans high it's me. I'm the problem. It's me,
- 14:13Speaker 1: but not always You're not always the problem. There is
- 14:17Speaker 1: there is, you know, in our history here on this podcast,
- 14:20Speaker 1: actually we've gone through a lot of you know, relationship
- 14:24Speaker 1: roller coasters. We've gone through a lot of roller coasters
- 14:27Speaker 1: in life and just whatever life brings. You and I
- 14:30Speaker 1: have done this long enough now that we've seen each
- 14:33Speaker 1: other through some great times, in some really hard times,
- 14:35Speaker 1: and some really like limbo times. Sometimes that there's nothing
- 14:38Speaker 1: seems to be happening at all, and you're not wrong.
- 14:43Speaker 1: I'm not gonna say your reaction is always wrong or incorrect.
- 14:46Speaker 1: It just those few times that it is incorrect or
- 14:50Speaker 1: there's a few times that you have created this scenario
- 14:52Speaker 1: in your mind. It's hard to talk through because you've
- 14:56Speaker 1: created a storyline that maybe doesn't exist, um, but there is.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Other times your reaction is spot on. And the thing
- 15:02Speaker 1: that people love about the two of you, you know,
- 15:04Speaker 1: would be that you speak your mind. You know every
- 15:07Speaker 1: nobody questions what you're feeling and where you're at. We
- 15:10Speaker 1: always know, uh. And so there's there's good and bad
- 15:13Speaker 1: to both. Yeah, you know, I don't know if it's
- 15:17Speaker 1: better worse in paradise again paradise. I'll tell you that
- 15:23Speaker 1: that kind of personality trait doesn't always farewell in paradise.
- 15:27Speaker 1: I think, especially with the audience. The audience expects you
- 15:31Speaker 1: to be like so mature with your emotions. It's just
- 15:36Speaker 1: not a place that aids with that well. And and
- 15:40Speaker 1: to close this thought, we've seen in Paradise a very
- 15:43Speaker 1: interesting trend this year where the people that seem most
- 15:45Speaker 1: in tune and um, contemplative, and if we throw the
- 15:51Speaker 1: word mature out, I think people will know what we're meaning,
- 15:54Speaker 1: aren't exactly. I mean, I also don't like my word
- 15:56Speaker 1: choice there with mature, because people because like, you can
- 15:59Speaker 1: be emotional and still still be sure at the same time,
- 16:03Speaker 1: you can be vocal I think, yeah, more contemplative and
- 16:09Speaker 1: reserved in the way they respond. We haven't seen that
- 16:12Speaker 1: farewell for some of these people, uh so far this season.
- 16:15Speaker 1: Rodney is somebody that comes to mind right away from me. Uh,
- 16:19Speaker 1: you know, Alex seemed to be fairly um, you know,
- 16:23Speaker 1: held together. I'm trying to think of one of the women,
- 16:26Speaker 1: but a lot of the women that feel like the
- 16:28Speaker 1: serenes of the world and um and even Victoria, you
- 16:32Speaker 1: know those I think Victoria for sure, Yeah, they've they've
- 16:35Speaker 1: seen to stick around, UM, so maybe it hasn't been
- 16:37Speaker 1: with them. I will say this just a note here,
- 16:39Speaker 1: and I know this is what Twitter is going to
- 16:40Speaker 1: talk about. And I think it's something that um, I
- 16:43Speaker 1: just don't love Genevieve. Yes, might be reactionary. You might
- 16:47Speaker 1: be a reactionary. You might express your emotions in your sleep.
- 16:50Speaker 1: I I really don't like the word crazy to be
- 16:53Speaker 1: thrown around because there's no craziness to it there there.
- 16:56Speaker 1: It's not somebody being crazy. Um, it's somebody speaking their emotions,
- 17:02Speaker 1: maybe not in the wisest of ways, maybe not in
- 17:04Speaker 1: the best of ways, maybe not in the ways it's
- 17:05Speaker 1: most helpful for the situation. But they're not crazy, Um,
- 17:09Speaker 1: They're They're just feeling it. You guys feel it. You
- 17:12Speaker 1: feel a lot deeper than I would I and I
- 17:15Speaker 1: sometimes miss and wish I could feel that intensity like
- 17:19Speaker 1: the two of you could, but I don't. And so
- 17:22Speaker 1: as a result, you won't see me personally getting that
- 17:25Speaker 1: like distraught over situations because I'm typically not feeling it
- 17:30Speaker 1: like you two do and I do at times. Yeah,
- 17:34Speaker 1: are you sure you don't have more to self restraint?
- 17:39Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I mean,
- 17:41Speaker 1: they're you know, they just have more self restraint. Well
- 17:45Speaker 1: that you hide it. So that's my thing. I'm like,
- 17:48Speaker 1: I know, I'm the worst actress in the world, So
- 17:52Speaker 1: if I try to hide it. It's gonna be there
- 17:55Speaker 1: obvious in your face anyway, so as mine as well.
- 17:58Speaker 1: Just black it because I just can't. I have no
- 18:03Speaker 1: cool girl vibes. I actually think that the theme of
- 18:08Speaker 1: these two episodes should just be don't be cool, because
- 18:13Speaker 1: trying to be cool gets you in trouble. We see
- 18:17Speaker 1: it in tomorrow Night's episode. Actually is it? I think
- 18:22Speaker 1: both In this episode UM, we see it with well
- 18:27Speaker 1: we can we can debate that. We see it with
- 18:29Speaker 1: Johnny and Alex because Johnny has been more reserved with
- 18:33Speaker 1: the feelings UM, which made Victoria veer towards Alex for
- 18:38Speaker 1: a bit or like show interest in him. We also
- 18:43Speaker 1: see it with Rot. We see it big time with
- 18:46Speaker 1: Rodney and Eliza in this episode where Justin comes down
- 18:52Speaker 1: asked Eliza on a date and Ronney says, I want
- 18:56Speaker 1: you to do what you want to do, what makes
- 18:58Speaker 1: you happy, like he did and say I don't want
- 19:01Speaker 1: you to go I want it to be you and I.
- 19:05Speaker 1: He's trying to be too cool. Like. People think that
- 19:07Speaker 1: they're being respectful by saying you can make your own choices,
- 19:12Speaker 1: but I guess, especially maybe in a girl's brain, that
- 19:15Speaker 1: means you're not all in. You're not there to fight
- 19:19Speaker 1: for me, and the root of that, I think it's
- 19:22Speaker 1: just trying to be cool or do you think it's respectful?
- 19:25Speaker 1: Do you think they're trying to be respectful or do
- 19:27Speaker 1: you think they're just trying to be easy, breezy cool.
- 19:29Speaker 1: I needed from the guy's brain. Now. I would say
- 19:33Speaker 1: there's there's two sides to one, and I think this
- 19:35Speaker 1: is a great conversation to have here because I do
- 19:39Speaker 1: think past has caused both sides, men and women too uh,
- 19:48Speaker 1: be more reserved when it comes to how they express, um,
- 19:52Speaker 1: what they want and desire out of the person that
- 19:54Speaker 1: they're interested in. Paradise is an interesting kind of like
- 19:58Speaker 1: science experiment because these relationships, unless you've had that conversation,
- 20:03Speaker 1: are not exclusive. Um, you're not. The expectation is not
- 20:07Speaker 1: that you're only dating one person. This is a a
- 20:10Speaker 1: place where we've heard it a thousand times this season especially,
- 20:13Speaker 1: is to explore your options. I don't think they're trying
- 20:16Speaker 1: to be cool, because I don't think being cool in
- 20:19Speaker 1: relationships ever goes well. And I don't know if anybody
- 20:22Speaker 1: on that beach is cool enough to know how to
- 20:26Speaker 1: be cool when it comes to dating people on a beach.
- 20:29Speaker 1: I just I've met too many of these people. I
- 20:31Speaker 1: know myself. I've never met any human actually that just
- 20:35Speaker 1: knows how to be cool. Always in a relationship. It's
- 20:38Speaker 1: fake because once you fall in love, your cool factor
- 20:41Speaker 1: goes away. You're you're you're in it to just be
- 20:45Speaker 1: the best possible partner positive that you can be and
- 20:48Speaker 1: express what you're feeling at a given time. I do
- 20:50Speaker 1: think though, there's like this hint of respect where it's
- 20:55Speaker 1: it's almost I would I'm gonna put my my thoughts
- 20:58Speaker 1: to what I think the guys are feeling, just from
- 21:00Speaker 1: guy's perspective, and it's almost the I don't want to
- 21:03Speaker 1: be controlling this. She is not Boom and now you've
- 21:09Speaker 1: just definitely one up me. Now I'm seeing that they
- 21:12Speaker 1: think it's more important to not seem controlling and partner. Yeah.
- 21:20Speaker 1: I think I think the guys are saying this, it
- 21:22Speaker 1: will be one more attractive to probably healthier of me
- 21:26Speaker 1: three um less kind of overbearing if I support this
- 21:32Speaker 1: person that I care about. And I think there's some
- 21:35Speaker 1: ways that the guys failed and they're admitting to failing
- 21:38Speaker 1: on how they expressed that they still cared about these
- 21:40Speaker 1: women even though they're like, yeah, go on a date,
- 21:42Speaker 1: I don't think they did that. Well, but I do
- 21:44Speaker 1: think if you ask them point blank, why did you
- 21:47Speaker 1: do that? It's well, I'm not going to control her.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Is up to her. She can make these decisions. And
- 21:52Speaker 1: if if she's saying she's still into me and I'm
- 21:56Speaker 1: and I think they probably because typically guys aren't great
- 21:58Speaker 1: at communicating in general, and they probably believe that she
- 22:02Speaker 1: obviously knows I'm into her. Uh and if if she
- 22:05Speaker 1: still feels like she wants going to this date, like,
- 22:07Speaker 1: who am I to stop her? I can't be that guy.
- 22:10Speaker 1: I don't want to stop her from doing things that
- 22:11Speaker 1: she wants to do. That's not how life works. That's
- 22:14Speaker 1: what I think their minds at. Okay, So now I
- 22:27Speaker 1: want you to demonstrate what Rodney should have done when
- 22:31Speaker 1: he talked to Eliza after Justin asked her out. And
- 22:34Speaker 1: I just want to preview for the audience that this
- 22:37Speaker 1: this trend continues for Tuesday night's episode. So I think
- 22:44Speaker 1: this applies all over. Well, It's easy for me because
- 22:47Speaker 1: I'm not one on the beach too. I've had time
- 22:49Speaker 1: to think through this because it is a storyline that
- 22:53Speaker 1: is a theme and thread line through both episodes. So
- 22:55Speaker 1: I've been able to kind of think through, Okay, what
- 22:57Speaker 1: should they have done or what are they apologizing for?
- 22:59Speaker 1: And so it's I don't want to come here and
- 23:00Speaker 1: be like, oh, if you did it better, this is
- 23:02Speaker 1: how you would have done it, and I would have
- 23:04Speaker 1: obviously done it like this. I don't think I would have.
- 23:06Speaker 1: I've been able to sit in my own house and
- 23:08Speaker 1: think through this in the quiet space of time. I
- 23:11Speaker 1: think it's I think it's a conversation that goes like this, Hey, Rodney,
- 23:14Speaker 1: I want to go on a date, or should I
- 23:16Speaker 1: go on this date, or however it was presented, and
- 23:19Speaker 1: Rodne need to say, here's here's the thing. I don't
- 23:23Speaker 1: want to control you, and I don't want to tell
- 23:25Speaker 1: you what you can and can't do, but I want
- 23:28Speaker 1: you to know how much I care about you. And
- 23:30Speaker 1: I also want you to know that as you leave
- 23:32Speaker 1: this beach on this date, it's gonna hurt me because
- 23:34Speaker 1: I'm just gonna miss you and I'm gonna miss being
- 23:37Speaker 1: with you, and I'm gonna get jealous and I'm gonna
- 23:39Speaker 1: get envious, and I'm gonna be nervous and I'm gonna
- 23:42Speaker 1: be scared because I just care about you and I
- 23:44Speaker 1: really can't imagine doing this thing or maybe even doing
- 23:48Speaker 1: life right now without you. But at the same time
- 23:52Speaker 1: not the perfect ben No. But again, I don't want
- 23:56Speaker 1: it to sound like I don't want anybody think, oh, Ben,
- 23:58Speaker 1: you know is coming off here and saying this is
- 24:00Speaker 1: how you should have done it. I've thought about this.
- 24:02Speaker 1: I just think there's some like reassurance to the partner
- 24:06Speaker 1: that needed to happen saying this is really Again, most
- 24:10Speaker 1: of the time, when you're telling somebody, I'm gonna be jealous,
- 24:12Speaker 1: I'm gonna be envious, I'm gonna be scared, I'm I'm
- 24:14Speaker 1: gonna be sad. That's that's not cool, Like that takes
- 24:18Speaker 1: out that cool factor. You're admitting some really hard emotions
- 24:22Speaker 1: right there. Uh, And then you just need to say,
- 24:25Speaker 1: but I don't want to control you, like I don't
- 24:26Speaker 1: want to tell you not to go, because that's not
- 24:28Speaker 1: the partner I want to be. It's not the partner
- 24:30Speaker 1: I am in my marriage to Jess, Like we've been
- 24:32Speaker 1: married now a year coming up in in less than
- 24:35Speaker 1: two weeks, and I would I would speak to my
- 24:38Speaker 1: wife in a very similar way that I don't want
- 24:41Speaker 1: to tell you what you can and can't do. If
- 24:42Speaker 1: you want to go out your friends and like, go
- 24:43Speaker 1: do it. But you know, I was excited about spending
- 24:46Speaker 1: the time on the couch with you because I miss you.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Totally different conversation than just saying, yeah, go out with
- 24:51Speaker 1: your friends. And then she comes back, she's like, hey,
- 24:53Speaker 1: we'd planned two weeks ago to uh spending even in
- 24:56Speaker 1: the couch. You don't even seem to care. It's like, well,
- 24:58Speaker 1: I mean I did, gear, but I just want to
- 25:00Speaker 1: say it. No, you've got to reassure, speak honestly and openly,
- 25:04Speaker 1: and then make sure people know why, um, why you're
- 25:08Speaker 1: saying to go because Roddy doesn't want a controller. And
- 25:11Speaker 1: I think that's I think that's fair. I think both
- 25:12Speaker 1: sides right and wrong. I think she didn't feel reassured,
- 25:16Speaker 1: and I think he didn't. I think he thought he
- 25:18Speaker 1: handled it perfectly because he didn't stop her. M hm hm. Yeah.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Well you'll see more an episode two, you guys how
- 25:27Speaker 1: Rodney feels about that decision. Um. But let's talk about
- 25:32Speaker 1: the actual thing that we saw in this episode, which
- 25:34Speaker 1: is the date between Justin and Eliza Ben, how do
- 25:38Speaker 1: you think it went? You know, I'm, I'm, I'm. It's
- 25:41Speaker 1: really hard for me personally because I am such a
- 25:46Speaker 1: fan of Eliza and Rodney. We've said it every week.
- 25:49Speaker 1: It's a couple that I just felt. Maybe we didn't
- 25:52Speaker 1: see the law moments, but to me, it just felt
- 25:55Speaker 1: like the chemistry and the connection and the passion and
- 25:59Speaker 1: honesty and the flirtation was there from the beginning, and
- 26:03Speaker 1: so anybody else that sits down with the Liza now,
- 26:05Speaker 1: I can't hardly even picture it. It's hard for most,
- 26:09Speaker 1: definitely how the cast feels. The cast is so vocal
- 26:13Speaker 1: about being team Rodney. Well, yeah, because I think there's
- 26:18Speaker 1: a side of that where Justin it was a no
- 26:20Speaker 1: win win situation for him. He showed up to the
- 26:23Speaker 1: beach to pursue this person that he was interested in.
- 26:25Speaker 1: He's already been to the beach, he already had his shot.
- 26:28Speaker 1: So you know, there's no rules in Paradise. Well, I
- 26:30Speaker 1: guess that's true because people can come and go, and
- 26:32Speaker 1: we've seen it multiple times. But I don't think you know,
- 26:37Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't know any It's hard for
- 26:41Speaker 1: me to say what's right and wrong. In Paradise, Justin
- 26:43Speaker 1: obviously hurt his friend Rodney in the process. He also
- 26:47Speaker 1: was pursuing somebody that he I believe, thought could be
- 26:50Speaker 1: his match. But I do think I feel similar to
- 26:54Speaker 1: the cast in the sense that I just can't picture
- 26:56Speaker 1: her without Rodney right now, especially on the beach. I
- 26:59Speaker 1: don't know if I want to see it, it would
- 27:00Speaker 1: be really it's really sad for me to see this
- 27:02Speaker 1: relationship go the way it is, because I just I
- 27:05Speaker 1: had so much hope for it. It could be one
- 27:08Speaker 1: of those things that they come back stronger from, so
- 27:11Speaker 1: we shall see. But I think it's a big point
- 27:15Speaker 1: that they do kiss underneath the yeah and yeah with
- 27:21Speaker 1: fireworks in the background and all that, and there's these
- 27:26Speaker 1: think a lot of physical attraction there. Well, there's these
- 27:30Speaker 1: hints going on, and maybe I missed where it was
- 27:34Speaker 1: clearly stated, but there's these hints that Justin Eliza have
- 27:37Speaker 1: a past um that they knew each other or had
- 27:41Speaker 1: talked to each other at least before this show, and
- 27:44Speaker 1: so I wonder if that has to play into it too,
- 27:46Speaker 1: where they may they're both excited to meet each other.
- 27:48Speaker 1: I know she was excited to meet Rodney. But you know,
- 27:51Speaker 1: you don't go to the beach just thinking typically about
- 27:53Speaker 1: one person. There's three people that you're interested in. So
- 27:57Speaker 1: she's exploring her options. Um, I think there's a little
- 28:00Speaker 1: bit of it's a little different now. And this is
- 28:05Speaker 1: to credit her for what she did. Is she came
- 28:09Speaker 1: on late into the season, later into the season, and
- 28:12Speaker 1: so we feel like, oh, yeah, these relationships are so
- 28:14Speaker 1: far along and so progressed that how is she going
- 28:17Speaker 1: and dating other people? Where if this was week one,
- 28:21Speaker 1: then her and Rodney had been together for a week,
- 28:22Speaker 1: and then week two, Justin shows up and she says,
- 28:25Speaker 1: I'm gonna go take a date with Justin because it
- 28:28Speaker 1: feels like I want to explore it. We would will
- 28:32Speaker 1: you be a lot less shocked? Um? But because she
- 28:35Speaker 1: came late and Rodney her connected late, now we feel
- 28:39Speaker 1: like there's a heavier um weight on their relationship and
- 28:43Speaker 1: I don't know if that's the case. I think we
- 28:45Speaker 1: might be building that up in our heads. That is
- 28:49Speaker 1: so true. Uh, And also I understand the curiosity that
- 28:54Speaker 1: like when the person I bet you she wanted both,
- 28:57Speaker 1: you know, I bet you she was looking out for
- 28:59Speaker 1: both guys. I mean, Rodney was waiting for her to
- 29:03Speaker 1: come down those stairs. But there's definitely got to be
- 29:06Speaker 1: a curiosity if like the person that you wanted to
- 29:09Speaker 1: see it comes down after you're already in a relationship,
- 29:14Speaker 1: you're probably like, well what if? Like you, like I
- 29:16Speaker 1: said in times on this podcast, I'm all about eliminating
- 29:19Speaker 1: the what ifs. So going on the date could have
- 29:22Speaker 1: done that, but I think it's more of going to
- 29:24Speaker 1: be a torn situation with her. Yeah yeah, well, Um,
- 29:29Speaker 1: that relationship, that storyline is going to continue. We're going
- 29:32Speaker 1: to continue talking about it. In episode two, we'll break
- 29:35Speaker 1: it down even further. Uh, there's some some great conversation
- 29:38Speaker 1: had I do want to mention Um Ashley, our buddy
- 29:42Speaker 1: who came on the podcast, Jacob. I sat down this
- 29:45Speaker 1: week and I was watching this episode. I was like,
- 29:47Speaker 1: Jacobs had his go at paradise. Somehow, this dude still around.
- 29:51Speaker 1: He's still around. He's never had like a very serious relationship,
- 29:56Speaker 1: and I just wonder now watching this week, if he
- 30:02Speaker 1: wishes Jill was still there because up to this point,
- 30:04Speaker 1: and again I could be biased because I do like Jill,
- 30:08Speaker 1: uh and I think she's hilarious and I think she's
- 30:09Speaker 1: funny and I think they had a great first date.
- 30:12Speaker 1: I I just wonder, from my perspective, I believe that
- 30:15Speaker 1: the most serious relationship he's had to day is with Jill.
- 30:19Speaker 1: This season. Yeah, he's still there, and I wonder if
- 30:22Speaker 1: he just wishes she was still around. Probably probably again,
- 30:29Speaker 1: That's all I can say. He kind of mentioned it,
- 30:32Speaker 1: he did. That's what I was gonna saying. He kind
- 30:34Speaker 1: of mentioned it during our podcast that he was still
- 30:37Speaker 1: very interested in Jill, still very excited about Jill. So
- 30:43Speaker 1: why can't Jill show back up to the beach. That's
- 30:45Speaker 1: what I'm wondering. Oh, Jill could come back up to
- 30:49Speaker 1: the beach, But I don't think it's gonna happen. I
- 30:52Speaker 1: do think that he kind of like spoiled things for us.
- 30:55Speaker 1: I don't think it's a big spoiler though, that Jacob
- 30:57Speaker 1: leaves not committed to anyone on but that he's still
- 31:02Speaker 1: interested currently in getting to know Jill better. Yeah. So
- 31:08Speaker 1: um yeah, So I would say that gives you the answer.
- 31:11Speaker 1: He's probably thinking about her and missing her a little
- 31:13Speaker 1: bit this week. But he does make out with Should again,
- 31:17Speaker 1: and they made out earlier like week like day one
- 31:20Speaker 1: or two. Yeah, he like he's a good kisser. Obviously,
- 31:23Speaker 1: people are seem to be liking kissing him. Uh. He
- 31:26Speaker 1: maybe some time away has made him wake up in
- 31:29Speaker 1: the mornings and think of Jill and go to bed
- 31:31Speaker 1: at night. Maybe that's changed. Beautiful, It is beautiful. All right.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Let's talk about one more couple before we get into headlines.
- 31:40Speaker 1: And I am eager to get into headlines this week
- 31:42Speaker 1: because I think it might be the most headliney bachelor
- 31:47Speaker 1: week of all time. You know, how many engagements and
- 31:49Speaker 1: weddings we had is quite unbelievable. Um. But yeah, let's
- 31:52Speaker 1: talk about Johnny and Victoria and they're cleansing date that
- 31:55Speaker 1: they went on. Johnny says that he's worried about them
- 32:02Speaker 1: not going the distance because he's so reserved with his
- 32:08Speaker 1: failings and and that's like sad, but he's working on it.
- 32:13Speaker 1: I was. I would add to this actually that I
- 32:15Speaker 1: was pleasantly surprised because I've never met Johnny. We didn't
- 32:19Speaker 1: get to see a ton of Johnny during his season.
- 32:23Speaker 1: Was how supportive? Not that they weren't supportive of Alex.
- 32:27Speaker 1: They don't know Alex again. Alex is kind of that
- 32:29Speaker 1: newcomer that comes in that nobody really knows much about Actually,
- 32:31Speaker 1: I didn't like the way that the cast treated Alex.
- 32:34Speaker 1: They made it seem like he was all looks and
- 32:36Speaker 1: no substance, and he seems very substantive. Just because they
- 32:42Speaker 1: know Johnny better doesn't mean that you guys can just
- 32:44Speaker 1: say that Johnny has a bigger heart than Alex. But
- 32:48Speaker 1: I get you're defending your friend, but still I didn't
- 32:50Speaker 1: like it. No, I think Alex kind of got the
- 32:52Speaker 1: raw end of the deal here where he came in.
- 32:54Speaker 1: People were judgmental, they're critical, But I will say I
- 32:58Speaker 1: was surprised and also very excited for Victorian Johnny on
- 33:04Speaker 1: how supportive the cast was of Johnny. They really liked him.
- 33:07Speaker 1: They spoke very highly of him. UH. And I think
- 33:10Speaker 1: that's just a good tell and a good sign when
- 33:12Speaker 1: women and men on the beach are going he has
- 33:14Speaker 1: a big heart, he's a nice guy, he cares a
- 33:16Speaker 1: lot about her. There's obviously a lot of depth to
- 33:20Speaker 1: who he is and his relationships on the beach, and
- 33:23Speaker 1: so I do think that's a good sign. To close
- 33:25Speaker 1: out though this episode, we do need to mention what
- 33:29Speaker 1: relationships are currently still existing on the beach going into
- 33:33Speaker 1: UH Episode two. UH Serena Brandon are still together. Still
- 33:38Speaker 1: not seeing much of them, not at all. They're kind
- 33:40Speaker 1: of that couple that we love to watch and we
- 33:43Speaker 1: never get to watch them. Danielle and Michael are still together.
- 33:47Speaker 1: We don't see a ton of them anymore either. No. Uh,
- 33:51Speaker 1: Eliza is in their love triangle with Rodney and Justin.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Genevieve and Aaron are still together. Just Sina and Andrew
- 34:00Speaker 1: are still together. Another couple we haven't got to see
- 34:02Speaker 1: as much of as I would like to see because
- 34:04Speaker 1: I don't really know what where they stand. Brittany and
- 34:08Speaker 1: Tyler are together, Kate and Logan are together, Shane and Jacob,
- 34:15Speaker 1: Victoria and Johnny. That are the Those are the couples
- 34:18Speaker 1: that are existing going into episode two. Um. And then
- 34:23Speaker 1: Florence gives a rose to Alex. I don't even know
- 34:25Speaker 1: if i'd call it a couple. Uh. And then Adam
- 34:29Speaker 1: obviously is no longer with us going into episode two.
- 34:32Speaker 1: He's gone. He didn't last too long. So the storyline
- 34:36Speaker 1: in episode two is what couples are going to continue,
- 34:38Speaker 1: what couples are going to continue to exist? And also
- 34:40Speaker 1: are we going to get a fourth row ceremony? In
- 34:42Speaker 1: episode two because three rows ceremonies after I don't know,
- 34:46Speaker 1: twenty hours of television so far, twenty five hours of
- 34:49Speaker 1: television is exhausting, Um, at least to me. Yeah, it's
- 34:55Speaker 1: pretty crazy how little rows ceremonies we've had. This is
- 34:58Speaker 1: the first time that the girls at two weeks in
- 35:00Speaker 1: a row, though, girls out roses two weeks in a
- 35:03Speaker 1: row because of the amount of the difference amount. Yeah, yeah,
- 35:07Speaker 1: it's gonna switch it up though obviously this next week
- 35:10Speaker 1: then they'll be less girls than guys, so the guys
- 35:12Speaker 1: will have the roses and then next week has got
- 35:15Speaker 1: to go into like Fantasy Suite week, right, Yeah, yeah,
- 35:22Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know. We have a couple more
- 35:24Speaker 1: weeks left. I think of this show. What's the end
- 35:26Speaker 1: date February. I don't know. It's gonna be crazy, but
- 35:33Speaker 1: we got a lot of bad filming right now. That
- 35:37Speaker 1: would be so great. I would love if they did
- 35:39Speaker 1: Big Brother style where it was just a live feed
- 35:42Speaker 1: forever and ever. I think it'd be great. I think
- 35:45Speaker 1: it would be very very dirty, um, and I think
- 35:48Speaker 1: that this show very very much edits out a lot
- 35:50Speaker 1: of this stuff that, uh, those young viewers should not
- 35:53Speaker 1: be watching. We have bachelor headlines though. Actually there's a
- 35:56Speaker 1: lot of them, as you mentioned, a lot of good ones,
- 35:58Speaker 1: a lot of love stories, a lot of addings. So
- 36:01Speaker 1: let's take a break. When come back, we're gonna break
- 36:02Speaker 1: down all this stuff happening in Bachelor Nation. Sweet, let's
- 36:06Speaker 1: do it. The headline reads this inside Madison Pruitt's wedding
- 36:22Speaker 1: to Grant Trout. See the bachel Nation stars who attended this.
- 36:25Speaker 1: According to US Weekly, well, in this article, I am
- 36:28Speaker 1: not mentioned, which is fine with me. It means I'm
- 36:31Speaker 1: either not a star or I'm not a part of
- 36:32Speaker 1: Bachelor Nation. So US Weekly, UM, let me know how
- 36:36Speaker 1: you're categorizing me now. Um, but either way, I was
- 36:40Speaker 1: happy to be there, my wife and I where they're
- 36:42Speaker 1: celebrating the two of them. Jessica met uh Madison on
- 36:47Speaker 1: a retreat earlier this year. They became fast friends, like
- 36:50Speaker 1: many said they would. Um. They have a lot of
- 36:53Speaker 1: common interests and they look very similar in a lot
- 36:56Speaker 1: of ways. Um, but it was an incredible wedding. Ashley,
- 37:01Speaker 1: break it down, then I'll add it. No, I don't
- 37:03Speaker 1: want to break it down. I'll read off the names
- 37:05Speaker 1: that were there. We got Natasha Parker, Sydney Warner High Tower,
- 37:11Speaker 1: Victoria Fuller, Kelly Flanagan, Jasmine, Hannah Ann they were all
- 37:16Speaker 1: there from Peter's season, and then Raven and Adam were
- 37:19Speaker 1: also there. Dallas, Dallas, people who have gotten close to Maddie.
- 37:25Speaker 1: But then yeah, you're not here. Um, who else are
- 37:29Speaker 1: they missing from this list? I think that was it.
- 37:31Speaker 1: I'm looking at for us now, I think that was who.
- 37:34Speaker 1: Oh McKenna mckinna was there. Yea, she was Peter season two. Okay,
- 37:40Speaker 1: so um there's also the next headline. It's kind of
- 37:43Speaker 1: a funny joke. Peter Webber playfully teases Kelly Flanagan after
- 37:48Speaker 1: she attends Madison brew It's wedding so low, which makes
- 37:53Speaker 1: a lot of sense. She didn't get a plus one. Uh.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Kelly wrote on Instagram, one of the most people weddings
- 37:59Speaker 1: for the most beautiful bride. Um, it's you know, with
- 38:02Speaker 1: the hashtag that they had, it's about trout time, which
- 38:06Speaker 1: is Maddie's letting your last name. And then underneath the picture,
- 38:10Speaker 1: Peter said where's Peter and then Kelly wrote back Peter Christian,
- 38:16Speaker 1: which is referencing his first and middle name, and then
- 38:20Speaker 1: he said I'm in trouble. And then she said, you
- 38:24Speaker 1: know when that middle name gets pulled out, get to bed, Peter.
- 38:32Speaker 1: I mean, could you imagine if Peter went to I mean,
- 38:35Speaker 1: obviously you know that's so funny though it is funny,
- 38:39Speaker 1: but no, he's not there. He should not be there.
- 38:41Speaker 1: He should not. I mean this, he needs, you know that,
- 38:44Speaker 1: he needs to give the space. There's obviously like a
- 38:47Speaker 1: history there. It would be I mean, maybe they could
- 38:49Speaker 1: get passed in and it would be fine. But he
- 38:51Speaker 1: wasn't there. No, I will say, so wait, let's talk.
- 38:55Speaker 1: He was like a mind boggled. How many weddings there
- 38:58Speaker 1: have been from like Peter c in this far? I
- 39:00Speaker 1: guess it's like Maddie and then Sydney High Tower and
- 39:06Speaker 1: those things. Only two. But I just think, like I
- 39:08Speaker 1: feel like Peter Season was yesterday, and like these girls
- 39:12Speaker 1: have met their future husbands, dated them and then planned
- 39:16Speaker 1: weddings all in that amount of time. It's been almost
- 39:19Speaker 1: three years since Peterson. It has been three years since
- 39:22Speaker 1: Peter season taped. What season was astrad on? She was
- 39:25Speaker 1: on nixt season. Okay, so that's farther back. Yeah, that's
- 39:29Speaker 1: farther back. It was an insane wedding. It was so beautiful.
- 39:34Speaker 1: She planned it in such a short amount of time,
- 39:37Speaker 1: like three months. Right. Yeah. It was in Dallas at
- 39:40Speaker 1: the Trout Household, which is unbelievable. They had white roses everywhere.
- 39:47Speaker 1: I mean there was roses everywhere. Um. Obviously Maddie looked beautiful.
- 39:53Speaker 1: I got to meet Grant for the first time. And
- 39:57Speaker 1: then also I would add that just getting to be
- 39:59Speaker 1: in sit with the girls from Peter's season, um was
- 40:04Speaker 1: very special. Um, it was. It was a very nice Uh.
- 40:08Speaker 1: It was just a nice way to meet them. They're
- 40:10Speaker 1: very kind. I would say the coolest part of the
- 40:13Speaker 1: wedding not only was the ceremony and those two getting married,
- 40:17Speaker 1: because I know how excited so many are for them,
- 40:19Speaker 1: and how supportive the crowd was of them, and the
- 40:22Speaker 1: things said about the two of them as a couple
- 40:24Speaker 1: and who they are to each other. I think their
- 40:27Speaker 1: love story for those who think it was rushed or quick,
- 40:29Speaker 1: would make a lot of sense if you kind of
- 40:31Speaker 1: heard the words of support coming behind them. But they
- 40:37Speaker 1: had um Camus wine and Prisoner wine as the wedding wine,
- 40:42Speaker 1: and those are my two favorite wines, and so I
- 40:44Speaker 1: really had a good time. I really enjoyed it. Um,
- 40:48Speaker 1: but it was it was a very special evening and
- 40:50Speaker 1: it and Jessica and I felt very honored to be
- 40:53Speaker 1: there alongside so many of these other people. It was.
- 40:56Speaker 1: It was a great it was a great ceremony. Uh
- 41:00Speaker 1: oh they had the jordan Con band. Yeah, that's who
- 41:03Speaker 1: we had. Yeah, and that's how that's who we had.
- 41:05Speaker 1: So oh my gosh. Yeah yeah. So we had Taylor
- 41:08Speaker 1: Pace Orchestra, which is a part of the jordan Con group,
- 41:11Speaker 1: but this was jordan Con who you had. So it
- 41:14Speaker 1: was but they're all under the same kind of umbrella. Um.
- 41:17Speaker 1: So that band is incredible. They always have the party going.
- 41:20Speaker 1: I mean, there's just it's if you're looking for like
- 41:22Speaker 1: an insanely good wedding band, they are the best I've
- 41:25Speaker 1: ever seen. So we danced, we ate, we drank, we celebrated.
- 41:31Speaker 1: What did you eat they gave? It was like chicken
- 41:37Speaker 1: uh and steak, your typical like kind of wedding food,
- 41:40Speaker 1: but it was insanely good um with like aside salad.
- 41:46Speaker 1: I think everybody got the same dish um pretty much.
- 41:49Speaker 1: But it was like in really good wedding food. Like
- 41:55Speaker 1: I'm typically not a fan of wedding food. The cocktail
- 41:57Speaker 1: hour was it was out kind of I don't want
- 42:01Speaker 1: to like, I don't know, I don't want to share
- 42:04Speaker 1: too much about the house because I don't know how
- 42:06Speaker 1: much they would feel comfortable with. But this house is
- 42:08Speaker 1: is very nice and uh. The cocktail hour was out
- 42:11Speaker 1: by their pool. Uh and they're kind of garden area
- 42:15Speaker 1: uh and um, and so they had bars set up
- 42:18Speaker 1: around that and it was, I mean, it's just like
- 42:21Speaker 1: the most magical backyard. I think anybody that walked into
- 42:24Speaker 1: that backyard, no matter who you were, where you're from,
- 42:27Speaker 1: or what you've seen, we all just went holy how
- 42:30Speaker 1: like I mean, And they had to decorative for the
- 42:32Speaker 1: wedding and so they had beautiful like flower arrangements everywhere. Lighting. Uh.
- 42:38Speaker 1: It was it was just like the most spectacular event.
- 42:40Speaker 1: It reminded me of what it would feel like if
- 42:42Speaker 1: I ever got invited to one of those fancy Hollywood
- 42:44Speaker 1: parties that people pay millions of dollars to put on.
- 42:47Speaker 1: The cold kind of feel like that because it was
- 42:48Speaker 1: like black tie and then very fancy dresses and so
- 42:51Speaker 1: everybody look was looking good, feeling good, celebrating. Well. It
- 42:56Speaker 1: was special. Did they do anything like unique and quirky,
- 43:00Speaker 1: and we saw her her veil, so that was unique.
- 43:04Speaker 1: It said worth the weight, So anything else that was
- 43:07Speaker 1: like very specific to them. Uh, I mean it was
- 43:12Speaker 1: a very uh faith based focus ceremony. I think that's
- 43:16Speaker 1: who the two of them are. They're very faith focused
- 43:18Speaker 1: and so a lot of their ceremony, a lot of
- 43:21Speaker 1: their prayers, a lot of their speeches kind of we're
- 43:25Speaker 1: focused around who they are for each other, but then
- 43:28Speaker 1: who are they in relationship to God? And how do
- 43:31Speaker 1: they what do they want to do with their relationship,
- 43:34Speaker 1: Like how do they want to serve well and love
- 43:36Speaker 1: well and be well in this world? And so that
- 43:39Speaker 1: was that was unique to them, and I think that
- 43:41Speaker 1: was kind of the It felt like the tone of
- 43:44Speaker 1: the whole evening was, you know, we're here not only
- 43:46Speaker 1: because we love each other, but because we love God.
- 43:49Speaker 1: And that was kind of how the focus of the
- 43:50Speaker 1: whole night went. Is how the ceremony went, It's how
- 43:52Speaker 1: the speeches were given. Before they danced. Um, they did
- 43:56Speaker 1: do one thing that I thought was interesting and cool.
- 43:59Speaker 1: They had both after the son mother dance Mother's son dance.
- 44:07Speaker 1: They did both sets of parents they danced with in
- 44:11Speaker 1: front of everybody. So they broke bought. They brought grants
- 44:14Speaker 1: parents out, Maddie's parents out, and the three of them
- 44:17Speaker 1: danced on the floor together, and I thought that was
- 44:19Speaker 1: very special. Um. Luckily, Uh Sam Ellinger was supposed to
- 44:25Speaker 1: be in the wedding, the starting quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts.
- 44:27Speaker 1: He made his first start yesterday for the Colts and
- 44:29Speaker 1: a disappointing loss. He didn't play bad, the Colts play bad.
- 44:32Speaker 1: He didn't make the wedding because he was starting the
- 44:35Speaker 1: next day UH in Indianapolis, so that that didn't happen.
- 44:39Speaker 1: I was excited didn't get to meet him. I know
- 44:42Speaker 1: I was gonna, you know, I was gonna touch his
- 44:44Speaker 1: hand and give him some luck, but that didn't work out.
- 44:48Speaker 1: I would I would say it was one of there's
- 44:51Speaker 1: like some spectacular, lead beautiful weddings that I've been to.
- 44:55Speaker 1: Yours would be included in that, and there's are like
- 44:58Speaker 1: there's are definitely gonna be included. Their wedding was. It
- 45:01Speaker 1: was amazing. They also wore Jordan's Nike Jordan's Word after
- 45:07Speaker 1: the ceremony, which is pretty classic. Maddie very cute with
- 45:11Speaker 1: her their sportswear and then you know in basketball tie ins,
- 45:15Speaker 1: and then I'm curious to know how many people were there.
- 45:19Speaker 1: It looks like it could have been like upwards of
- 45:21Speaker 1: three d oh more than that, Jessica and I estimate,
- 45:24Speaker 1: I don't know how many were there, but I bet
- 45:25Speaker 1: it was close to four fifty. How do you do
- 45:29Speaker 1: that in three months? I mean, now it makes more
- 45:31Speaker 1: sense knowing that it was at their house, so the
- 45:34Speaker 1: venue was easy. Yeah, it was very impressive. I don't know.
- 45:38Speaker 1: Jessica asked the same thing. She's like, how in the
- 45:40Speaker 1: world that she pulled this off and in three months?
- 45:43Speaker 1: Because they did, and they pulled it off really well.
- 45:46Speaker 1: You can see a lot of the pictures. Uh, Madison
- 45:49Speaker 1: and Grant have both posted a lot of these pictures,
- 45:52Speaker 1: kind of the drone shots of the whole group. And
- 45:54Speaker 1: they had an incredible videographer there that put the video
- 45:57Speaker 1: out that evening, which seems to be a new thing
- 45:59Speaker 1: in weddings where you get a videographer that has the
- 46:01Speaker 1: video done by the time the ceremonies done, so every
- 46:04Speaker 1: he gets to watch it. Yeah, we did that, but
- 46:07Speaker 1: they you can see a lot of the content created
- 46:09Speaker 1: from that on their two socials. I will say, my
- 46:13Speaker 1: wife looked really good. She always looks beauty, she does
- 46:17Speaker 1: in Madison. I mean, she just always looks stunning as well,
- 46:19Speaker 1: so she just looked amazing. She had what one dress
- 46:22Speaker 1: change or one dress change? I don't know, I don't know.
- 46:25Speaker 1: I don't know. You could ask, you could ask jests.
- 46:27Speaker 1: I'm sure she would know. Um. But okay, well let's
- 46:30Speaker 1: let's move on. There's two. There was another bachelor wedding
- 46:33Speaker 1: this weekend that was Kevin and Astrid. They got married
- 46:36Speaker 1: in Florida, and it looked like the only bachelor alone
- 46:41Speaker 1: that was there was Blake. Rachel was there. Oh, Rachel
- 46:47Speaker 1: was there too. Ye, Blake and Rachel. We don't have
- 46:49Speaker 1: a list of all the names, but I saw on
- 46:52Speaker 1: social media. I think there was more than just Rachel
- 46:55Speaker 1: and Blake. It felt like there was probably um for
- 47:00Speaker 1: were five of them that were there. I'm going to
- 47:02Speaker 1: see if I could get like the whole list by
- 47:04Speaker 1: looking at this social picture because I just saw it
- 47:07Speaker 1: a few a few moments before we jumped on. But
- 47:11Speaker 1: they did have a good support. I don't know anything,
- 47:14Speaker 1: but I know that Kevin hasn't wearing a wedding band
- 47:17Speaker 1: for a while. So I wonder if they were legally
- 47:20Speaker 1: married for a while going into the ceremony. Yeah, and
- 47:24Speaker 1: that's another kind of trend these days, right where, oh yeah,
- 47:27Speaker 1: we have another legal marriage. Yeah, Joe and Serena this week. Seriously,
- 47:31Speaker 1: three bachelor couples got married this week. Well, I guess
- 47:34Speaker 1: Maddie's have a bachelor couple. But how crazy. Um, Joe
- 47:38Speaker 1: and Serena they got legally married and they'll be having
- 47:40Speaker 1: their ceremony next September. Yeah. So I will say from
- 47:44Speaker 1: the pictures, I wasn't there to speak as much on it,
- 47:47Speaker 1: but Kevin and Astrid's wedding looked awesome. She looks beautiful. Uh,
- 47:51Speaker 1: she always looks really, just like stunningly beautiful. There obviously parents,
- 47:57Speaker 1: and they had this amazing ceremony, a lot of support
- 48:02Speaker 1: around them. But then, yes, I got to hear a
- 48:04Speaker 1: little bit about Serene and Joe's um marriage at the courthouse.
- 48:09Speaker 1: They're gonna still have a celebration. There's a rumor that
- 48:12Speaker 1: Natasha was actually their witness, um when you got married. Yeah,
- 48:15Speaker 1: there's a rumor going around right now that I heard
- 48:18Speaker 1: that Natasha was their one legal witness. So it's just
- 48:21Speaker 1: the three of them in a room. They got married.
- 48:24Speaker 1: Very exciting for them, but they are still gonna have
- 48:27Speaker 1: a celebration. This was kind of there and I don't
- 48:29Speaker 1: know they're their full reasoning behind doing this and not
- 48:33Speaker 1: just waiting to the wedding, but they are married, and
- 48:36Speaker 1: so how cool is this? We're now talking about not breakups,
- 48:40Speaker 1: are talking about marriages. Yeah, it may have had to
- 48:43Speaker 1: do with the fact she was Canadian, you know, that
- 48:45Speaker 1: could be too, Yeah, who knows, But still it doesn't
- 48:48Speaker 1: really matter. They're going to get married either way. Yeah,
- 48:50Speaker 1: well they are married, and so we celebrate Kevin and Astrid,
- 48:54Speaker 1: Joe and Serena, also Madison and Grant. We celebrate them all. Congratulations.
- 49:00Speaker 1: We also have to celebrate Kalen and Dean. Kalen Dean
- 49:05Speaker 1: got engaged this week and of course in a very
- 49:08Speaker 1: Dean fashion. So to tell us all the juicy details,
- 49:11Speaker 1: we have our producer Hannah on our podcast, who also
- 49:16Speaker 1: produces Jared and Dean's podcast. Hannah, do you mind jumping
- 49:21Speaker 1: on here and tell us all the juicy details that
- 49:22Speaker 1: you learned during the podcast. Of of course, what do
- 49:27Speaker 1: you want to know? Okay, Hannah, I got to know
- 49:30Speaker 1: was the ring truly lost or is that a story?
- 49:33Speaker 1: Because you guys, if you didn't know already, headlines are
- 49:36Speaker 1: made last week in which Dean says that he crumpled
- 49:41Speaker 1: up the ring in a piece of napkin and put
- 49:46Speaker 1: it in his drunk drawer in the kitchen. So I
- 49:49Speaker 1: was hoping that this was to throw kalin off. Is
- 49:55Speaker 1: this true or is this a big fib to make
- 49:58Speaker 1: her surprised? No, this is true. This is God. The
- 50:01Speaker 1: ring is still lost and he proposed with a placement
- 50:05Speaker 1: ring until he finds the original one four point five
- 50:09Speaker 1: carrot ring. By the way, gone gone. I cannot get
- 50:17Speaker 1: over this, Okay. So then you know they've been talking
- 50:23Speaker 1: about engagement. Heck, I think all of us out there
- 50:26Speaker 1: kind of maybe thought that they had some secret commitment
- 50:29Speaker 1: ceremony done in Europe years ago, that they were already engaged.
- 50:36Speaker 1: There's just been so much like engaged in marriage talk
- 50:38Speaker 1: around them, and that's how committed they've always felt. But
- 50:43Speaker 1: it so I feel like Kayla knew this was coming.
- 50:49Speaker 1: It was a matter of time of formality really to
- 50:51Speaker 1: get him down on one knee. They go to Hawaii.
- 50:55Speaker 1: They take a long hike, the hardest hikes documented in
- 51:02Speaker 1: the US. This is not like, my business partner just
- 51:05Speaker 1: took this hike last year and he said it was
- 51:06Speaker 1: the hardest hike he's ever done, and he's hiked the
- 51:09Speaker 1: Grand Canyon from Rim to Rim to Rim, so like,
- 51:11Speaker 1: this is a really hard, difficult, grueling hike. It's twenty
- 51:17Speaker 1: two miles up and down these hills. Dean is a
- 51:22Speaker 1: crazy person. He's a crazy person, and Kalin is a saint. Wow. Okay,
- 51:28Speaker 1: So they get to the end of this hike, right,
- 51:31Speaker 1: and he had done this cute little thing where he
- 51:35Speaker 1: pretended like he was going to take some glam shot
- 51:37Speaker 1: of her from far away, and he set up the
- 51:39Speaker 1: camera and then it was all ready for him to
- 51:42Speaker 1: get down on one knee. So Hannah explained, Yeah, so
- 51:45Speaker 1: he hid a camera in the bushes and they were
- 51:47Speaker 1: going to do just a picture of them too, where
- 51:50Speaker 1: their backs were turned to each other and just like
- 51:51Speaker 1: turn around. It was this whole setup that Dean had,
- 51:55Speaker 1: and then they did at one time, and then he
- 51:58Speaker 1: was like, okay, let's do it again. And then the
- 51:59Speaker 1: second time him he did it, he was down on
- 52:01Speaker 1: one knee and he's so cute. And then after that
- 52:04Speaker 1: they had to do the whole hike back, and he
- 52:07Speaker 1: said after he proposed, he was like, I don't know
- 52:10Speaker 1: if it's the new fiance glow in her, but she
- 52:12Speaker 1: was a champ on the way back. But you know,
- 52:21Speaker 1: the difficulty of this too is there's some alleges where
- 52:25Speaker 1: you looking, yeah, walking on the side of a cliff
- 52:27Speaker 1: where it's about My buddy was telling me it's about
- 52:29Speaker 1: is wide enough to get your backpack through it without
- 52:31Speaker 1: like falling off the side of the cliff. This is
- 52:34Speaker 1: this is a hike that people have passed away on
- 52:36Speaker 1: trying to accomplish. This is not a like, let's go
- 52:39Speaker 1: in our backyard and take a nice little trail. This
- 52:41Speaker 1: is a hard hike that he asked Calin to go
- 52:43Speaker 1: on with him. Yeah, brutal. Well, the interesting thing is
- 52:46Speaker 1: is that now Calin has to propose to Dean. She
- 52:49Speaker 1: was he was convinced that she was going to be
- 52:52Speaker 1: the first one to do it, but she said her
- 52:53Speaker 1: proposal will come by the end of the year, so
- 52:55Speaker 1: she has two months, so we have something to look
- 52:57Speaker 1: forward to. There you go, she has too much Well,
- 53:00Speaker 1: you know what, he better find that ring before she
- 53:03Speaker 1: proposes to him. I just can't believe help. We had
- 53:06Speaker 1: insurance on the ring. I don't know if that would help.
- 53:09Speaker 1: You tell me Dean Ungler has insurance on anything in
- 53:12Speaker 1: his life? Okay? Legitimately, Ben, I had this conversation on
- 53:15Speaker 1: my I don't get a podcast because the girls were like, well,
- 53:18Speaker 1: he definitely got insurance on the ring, so hopefully he'll
- 53:21Speaker 1: be able to like figure it out. And I'm like, you, guys,
- 53:24Speaker 1: he crumpled up a ring into paper towel and put
- 53:27Speaker 1: it into a junctory. You think he got insurance on it?
- 53:32Speaker 1: Has health insurance? Like shocked? Shocked? If Dean has coverage
- 53:36Speaker 1: on one of the things that he owns, I just
- 53:39Speaker 1: would be I think he likes I think Dean is
- 53:41Speaker 1: the type of person, yeah that finds insurance to be
- 53:44Speaker 1: a burden. Uh, And that's that's his way. So yes,
- 53:47Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm hoping he did too. That is
- 53:49Speaker 1: not a cheap ring. But all else being said, congratulations
- 53:53Speaker 1: to two of them. Yes, Dean is Dean, and we
- 53:56Speaker 1: love Dean for who Dean is. He's a crazy person.
- 54:00Speaker 1: But Kalen loves Dean for Dean, and that is an
- 54:03Speaker 1: incredible relationship to watch and to see them shining together
- 54:08Speaker 1: and so the two of them are now engaged for
- 54:09Speaker 1: the first time. And look at that next headline about
- 54:13Speaker 1: what their last names are going to be. It's gonna
- 54:15Speaker 1: be Bell, right, is that what we're seeing? Yeah, this
- 54:19Speaker 1: is really cool. So they're actually both going to drop
- 54:22Speaker 1: their last names. I'm assuming that would be Miller Keys
- 54:24Speaker 1: for her and then Ulred for him, and they're going
- 54:27Speaker 1: to change their name to Bell, which is Dean's mom's
- 54:32Speaker 1: maiden name. That is so sweet, It's very beautiful. So
- 54:36Speaker 1: their love story continues. I love watching their love story.
- 54:39Speaker 1: There's another engagement in Batchel Nation, but this is the
- 54:42Speaker 1: second one. Becca Koufrin and Thomas Jacobs. Uh. They have
- 54:47Speaker 1: dueling proposals. So this time Thomas did propose to Becca.
- 54:52Speaker 1: H I knew this was like a thing where you know, uh, women,
- 55:00Speaker 1: we're now doing the proposal as well. Is it Is
- 55:03Speaker 1: it like a thing where you just you get engaged
- 55:06Speaker 1: once or if the woman does it, are you gonna
- 55:08Speaker 1: have to do it a second time? Like, actually, you've
- 55:10Speaker 1: got to explain this trend to me. But also I
- 55:12Speaker 1: want to say congratulates to two of them. We've already
- 55:14Speaker 1: said it before. We're very excited for them. Um, they're
- 55:17Speaker 1: both awesome, and they're awesome together. And I love Becca.
- 55:21Speaker 1: I'm gonna spend so much time with her. I'm so
- 55:23Speaker 1: excited for her. I just need, uh, my old school
- 55:27Speaker 1: traditional mind that I have to continue to scrape out
- 55:32Speaker 1: and work through and try to make sense of everything.
- 55:36Speaker 1: Teach me Ashley for your mine. But you know I'm
- 55:39Speaker 1: I'm old school and traditional too. Not to impugne this
- 55:43Speaker 1: trend of the woman proposing. My best friend proposed to
- 55:46Speaker 1: her her husband now, but I do think often times
- 55:51Speaker 1: when the woman does propose, the guy usually comes back
- 55:53Speaker 1: and does it his own way as well. So that's
- 55:56Speaker 1: what Thomas did. He carved the word to marry me
- 56:00Speaker 1: into a pumpkin before getting down on one knee. And
- 56:04Speaker 1: now it's time for them officially to start the wedding plans.
- 56:08Speaker 1: It seems yeah, I mean it's cool, And again I
- 56:12Speaker 1: think it's you know who said it was right or
- 56:15Speaker 1: wrong to do it in any different way. I'm not
- 56:17Speaker 1: saying that. I just didn't know then it there was
- 56:19Speaker 1: like a second proposal. Um, what happens if the second
- 56:22Speaker 1: time the person goes no. I thought about it for
- 56:25Speaker 1: the past five months, and Becca and Thomas. This case,
- 56:28Speaker 1: they were separated by five months. Yeah, it's like, yeah,
- 56:35Speaker 1: what does that mean? Doesn't mean you're broken up, but
- 56:37Speaker 1: doesn't mean you're still engaged because the first thing spile exists.
- 56:39Speaker 1: I don't know anymore. It's crazy, Ashley. We're gonna come
- 56:45Speaker 1: back right here tomorrow to break down the second episode
- 56:47Speaker 1: that we watched this week of Paradise Um for four
- 56:51Speaker 1: hours of television. Um yeah, I don't know. My my
- 56:54Speaker 1: eyeballs feel burned, um into my into my body because
- 56:58Speaker 1: I'm so much TV. Anyway, Hey, we'll be back tomorrow.
- 57:01Speaker 1: Can't wait to uh to talk to you all of then.
- 57:03Speaker 1: Until then, I've been been, I've been Ashley Bye. Followed
